The island continent of Ugix is rife with strife; the fading empire of Gondolar being eroded from within and by barbarian hordes from all directions is now largely unable to protect its citizens from the marauding invaders. The elves from Mythlad are predatorily securing resources throghout the land perhaps anticipating some sort of catastrophe. The dwarves from Barazin are busy with their own affairs in the underground, the halflings have never organized themselves enough to become a veritable powerplayer content with trading and farming in the edges of others territories.
The orcs have been hyperactive as of late sacking towns and making incursions into the human territory becoming bolder and bolder with every passing year; the minotaurs so far have been largely neutral in the growing conflict, fighting only to defend themselves. The trolls once largely confined to their own caves have been reported to actively raid isolated villages in the past few years; the dark elves are coming from the confines of the earth seeking to do trade with the races of the surface bringing exotic goods produced in the underground. Sighting of lizardfolk have also became common as they increasingly attempt to pillage human and dwarvish settlements for their metals.

The old chieftain Grok was always rambling on about the importance of keeping hidden from the outside races, that they would spell our doom with their fire. Not that Grok was a coward - he had proven himself a good hunter and won all tribal contests for leadership till the very end - but he was adamant about keeping our distance from the races outside our swamp.
But then Grok passed away. He caught a bad fever and the shaman couldn't heal him and he died. He was already very old but still it was a shock to see our beloved leader die. A tribal contest was held to decide who would be the new leader and a brave young troll emerged champion.

> Name leader

"Behold young chieftain", says the shaman, "you're now lord over all you survey. It's your sacred duty to lead our people to greatness. It is time you learn of our friends and foes."

"To the north live the orcs. We're not enemies and we could probably secure an alliance with them in times of war. In the past we've contacted a chieftain named Darok, but it's been a long time, it's likely he been substituted already."

"To the south are the lands of man. They know we're weak to fire so we should expect them to attack us with it if we're ever to venture forth to attack them. Their lands are rich with cattle, grains and metals. We might want to pillage them."

"To the east lie the lands of the elves. We avoid contact with them if at all possible. Their magic is powerful, perhaps stronger than our own. We know that they have sacred spots in their forest from which they drain magic. We could potentially raid them to steal their magic but only when we are stronger. Their leader is an elf woman named Lindora."

"To the west there are various clans of halflings dotting the hills and the mountain ranges where the dwarves made their homes. The halflings would be open to trade with us if we have anything they'd want. We could also raid them for their goods. The dwarvish homes are veritable fortresses but if we can crack them there are bounties of metal to be had within."

> Name leader

You send a group of trolls to the orcish lands with words of friendship seeking an alliance where we could pillage without stepping on each others toes.

After a couple months the trolls return and describe what transcurred.

At first upon seeing the trolls approaching their settlement the orcs thought it was a raid and gathered their warriors to meet us in battle; our trolls raised their hands meaning they came in peace and told the orcs they wanted to see their leaders to negotiate an alliance.

The orcs then took our trolls to their leader hall, a large wooden structure in the middle of their settlement, and they were greeted by the orcish warlord.

"I'm Gorga the warboss. What business do you have with the orcs?"

"Our leader seeks an alliance with the orcs so that we can pillage without stepping on each others toes"

"So the trolls are finally getting out of their swamp eh? Very well. We can raid the humans together and split the loot. But since my armies are much larger than yours I'll have two thirds of the loot. It's a good deal for the relative safety of raiding together with the orcish army."

"I'll have to ask the chief if he agrees with these terms."

"Go ahead. I don't have all the time in the world though, so don't take too long."

Should we accept the orcs proposal?
> Accept the orcs proposal
> Insist in spliting the loot evenly

We will now have a breeding contest, where every male competes, and only the strongest gets to mate.
>>

> Name Leader

We establish a breeding contest where every male competes and only the strongest are allowed to breed, that should usher forth a generation of stronger trolls in the future.

We accept the orcish proposal of getting one third of the spoils of war should we go raiding with them. Gorga the warboss immediatelly proposes a raid.

"There's this human mining town with about 3000 humans living in it. Our scouts were able to ascertain that they have about 150 professional soldiers defending their town. They should be able to raise a militia about 1000 humans strong. We have 700 orcish grunts and 500 orcish archers ready to storm their palisade walls and we've been wondering how many trolls could you spare for this raid?"

How many trolls do you intend to send on this raid?
An adult troll is a fearsome foe capable of facing many men. A juvenile troll is still stronger than a man and with his bare fists can crush their foes.
> We'll pass this time
> Send adult trolls (1-153)
> Send juvenile trolls (1-679)
> Send the shaman to assist with his fire magic

Torgorn sends off any willing adult trolls to the raid with the orcs. 109 trolls volunteer for the opportunity to go on raiding. We make a feast to honor those that volunteer.

With the aid of a contingent of adult trolls breaching the walls of the human settlement proves exceedingly easy. The war party takes the fight to the streets of the human settlement and what started as a skirmish on the walls become a veritable blood bath. The humans attempt to use fire arrows and dump oil then light trolls on fire to counter them but they only have so many fire arrows and oil bottles handy.

All in all about 100 humans are massacred before the remaining militia flees in panic and the orcish army roll on by the town looting, killing about 100 more civilians who were unable to evacuate the town in time. 5 trolls are killed by fire and do not regenerate, the remaining sustain only minor damage that regenerate quickly if damaged at all.

The orcs loot a large amount of iron bars from the human town and share a portion of the loot with us. They also steal a bunch of cows and a few horses. The orcs then put the human town to the torch then leave it.

All in all it was a successful raid even if we didn't kill that many humans since they fled the battlefield too early.

Hey if we're going to religion we should worship two types of God's two types of God one for Good Harvest and one for war. Since we're going to be militaristic but we need more food. An army needs food. That said I like the idea of breeding are people with the Horrocks but it should be voluntary. See also for what is possible to breed animals for a hard territory such as fish or rice. Also are we at the edge of the continent cuz if so? We can look for different types of food. Also gather the shamans we can get a ranged Magic core, just imagine what we could do.
>>
>>3281094
Horrocks, I meant orcs. And as for military matters. We must learn blacksmithing, we should wield great swords or iron clubs. What I suggest you do is take a troll that has spent most of it's life fighting and have it's train the younger once. If you do split them up I suggest 10 together, and have a veteran lead them into combat. Also I see our Magic is flame based, we're troll so why is that. Since we live in a swamp shouldn't we should know more water magic or Earth Magic. That said, we should have our shamans hone their skills. But allow them to experiment. Now see if you can get people to breed the swamp berries to be bigger and sweeter. How to go about this is simple. Go through each bush, find the biggest and find the sweetest. Breed them, then plant their seeds. When their children give fruit repeat the process. That what our ancestors did. Also see if we can breed Alligators the same way except for two this 1) for fatness (we should also do for fish). 2) I want us to have Alligators mounts.
>>
>>3281196
In our next raid take any Craftsman such as blacksmiths, Carpenters, farmers, Healers, and anyone who could be of use as well. As is. Dark elves have come out to to trade. Since have we have furs or pelts we could trade with them. I mean they live underground you think they'll have anything other than leather. We don't need any shiny rocks but let's see what else they could have.

We propose another raid with the orcs and they ask us if we have any target in mind, when we tell them that we don't they tell us that they'll inform us when they scout another good target for a raid. We suggest looking into cross-bredding some of our people to make hybrids with trollish strength and regeneration and orcish skill and cunning; half trolls are by no means a common sight but are not completely unheard of. The orcs are unwilling to send their females to our tribe nor to take our men into their lands to mate with their females. Should we send some of our females to the orcish lands?
