Hey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.
Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.
Mostly.

>The Rules
I will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barrett, a high school student who has just truly begun his career as a superhero in Gotham City as Gray Ghost, you will be given prompts to direct him.
Some things will require a dice roll to determine success or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything.

The voting period will last around 30 minutes or more after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.

>The Dice
We will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.

Let's have some fun.

This situation is evolving by the second. You've just avoided a major trap set by LaFarge and Jackal, only to find to other capes may have just barged right into it. You can't get a good look at them from this far away, all you can really see is two figures. One red, one blue. Tearing ass through this base.

"Robin, who am I looking at here?" You look to your team leader for answers, who seems just as lost as you are this time.

"I don't recognize them, but it doesn't matter. They don't know what they've gotten themselves into. We're going to have to pick them up." Robin turns and heads for the stairs. Looks like this isn't up for discussion.

Speedy stops him, hand on his shoulder. "Hold up there boss. I know how you feel, they're staring down the barrel right now but they also set off an alarm. We've gotta hit LaFarge and Jackal before we lose em. They get away, they're just gonna do more damage in trying to get to Slade."

He's not happy about it, but Robin stops to consider it. "I know you're not about to suggest we leave them to a missile strike, right?"

"Only kinda, we don't have a way to warn em but they're pros. Just look at em go! They'll be fine. We have a job to do." Speedy has a bit of a point here. If you worry too much about these guys then you may not have enough to time to engage your real targets.

Everyone's quiet as Robin runs the numbers in his head. You've all got something to say about Speedy's suggestion. But Robin comes to a decision. "Leaving people behind isn't what we do. Wondergirl, prepare the jet for a fast evac. Drop us in, then pick us up. Wintergreen, send me those coordinates."

So of course, you all prep to try and dodge a missile strike. Because that's what this job is. If mom knew what you did on just one of these missions she'd have you committed just to keep you out of harm's way. Wintergeen and Rose's mother are relocating to another one of his safehouses.

Aqualad is helping them move out quicker, and you're about to hop on the wonderjet when Rose approaches you. "I'm gonna ask you something. And it's gonna sound stupid, but I need you to hear me out."

You squint at the pale haired girl under your goggles but just shake your head. "Okay, sure, shoot."

She takes a deep breath, and steels herself before saying her piece. "I want you guys to take me with you. I'm not going to pretend to know everything that's happening here but people either want me hurt or dead and my father is somehow at the center of it. I want to know why. Look him in the eye for the first time, and ask him."

>"You're right, that is stupid. Stay with Wintergreen."
>"What's that really gonna do for you? Is it worth your life?"
>"Fine. But we're gonna have to run it by the leader first."

Part of you wants to say no right away. Tell her it is a stupid idea and to go stay with her mom and Wintergreen. But you know what it's like to need answers, closure. "What's that really gonna do for you? Is it worth your life?" You wanna see how far she's willing to go for this.

"I- I don't know that. But I know I'll regret it for the rest of my life If I don't get an answer. Straight from him." She says that with some conviction, acknowledging the fact that she might not walk away from this.

Still, you figure being difficult is the best way to test her. You give a dismissive snort. "The rest of your life could be pretty damn short if this goes sideways."

She narrows her eyes, getting tired of arguing the point. "Hey, you saw back in that shadow realm or whatever, I can handle myself."

"All right hotshot, you can fight. But can you follow orders? We have a chain of command for a reason."

She waves away your point. "Only an idiot couldn't follow instructions. C'mon, I know it's dangerous. I'll do what I'm told."

You just look her in the eye, for a moment, searching for a hint of doubt. You don't find any. With a sigh, you relent. "Fine. But this is won't just be up to me, or just Robin. You being here could throw off our whole game so everyone gets a vote."

She still takes that as a victory, fist pumping as soon as you turn to fetch the rest of the team.

-------

"No freakin' way." Speedy let's his stance be known right away. "Guys, she might be trained. But this is this exact kind of mission you don't want a rookie on."

Miss Martian is more positive, as always. "I think she's ready. Besides, she'll have all of us to keep her safe."

"I agree." Wondergirl chimes in. "It's true, the situation is dire, but at this point there's no truly safe option. She may even be more secure by our sides."

Aqaulad doesn't see it that way. "With Shade gone, there;s no reason to believe that they can catch up to, let alone find Rose. If she stays with Wintergreen, she should be fine. I'm sorry. I recognize that this is important to you. But it's simply too dangerous."

And Artemis agrees. "I saw you fight, and you're good. But what we're talking about here. You could get hurt or worse with a single mistake or moment of hesitation. I'm sorry, Rose."

So it's down to you and Robin. He's been absorbing what everyone has to say. Probably considering any strategy that Rose could hinder or even be a part of. "Okay. Suit up." Everyone is at least a little surprised, Roy is shocked. "Well, that's my vote at least. We still have one more." Of course, your were the tie breaker.

"Alright. You can come." Rose jumps for joy at her victory while your team members that you voted against accept the ruling with a few dissatisfied grunts. "But! Do what Robin says, find some armor, suit up. And if you can, find some rubber bullets."

She mock salutes and runs off to talk to Wintergreen. Robin's voice comes in over the mental link. [No matter what happens, she can't be left alone. At least one of us stays with her at all times.]

Everyone voices their agreement and you begin piling onto the Wonderjet. To fly directly into ground zero for a missile attack. What a day.

-----

You're approaching the sight fast, the jet never ceases to wow you with it's speed. Robin is currently getting a warning out to the city to get people evacuated. Artemis is nervously counting her arrows, trying to act like she's not worried. Before you can say anything. You hear Speedy talking to Wondergirl at the cockpit. "Can't we just intercept the missiles? You've got weapons on this thing, right? You gotta?"

"Not so. This is merely a scouting vessel. Something used to check on what's happened outside of the barrier. I imagine that's why I was allowed to take it. There are may more like it."

Your attention is drawn to the seats directly across from you, where Miss Martian is holding Rose's head, her hands on her temples. Robin asked her to let her in on our psychic link for now. Better safe than sorry, he said. It's not that you don't trust Rose, but you feel a bit strange letting someone knew in on this. Guess it's more special to you than you realized.

Before you know it, you're flying in low. You're just about ready to drop. Robin assembles the team in front of him. "Alright, our objective here is simple. Find those mystery capes and bring em back here before the strike. We can see them on satelite imaging, so they must be in one of the buildings around. If the situation changes, call for backup."

The circular hatch in the floor of the aircraft opens, and it slows down for your drop onto the roof. Each one of you quickly dart out, tuck and roll, and move into action.

As soon as you think your rooftop landing went unnoticed, the air is wracked with the sound of gunshots. You and M'gann go intangible on instinct, and you feel a couple of rounds pass through your body while Kaldur shields the rest of the group with his waterbeareres. They were waiting for you? Or maybe just anybody who was dumb enough to try and infiltrate from the roof.

The mercs are firing at you from hidden positions behind various cover on the roof. Maybe they're just following old orders, they are being mind controlled. Maybe they were just told to stay here and kill any intruders. Robin slams his sticks together and readies a folding shield that springs from them with a twist. "We can't afford to be pinned down. Miss Martian, Grey Ghost, you van move through the buildings freely. You go ahead and find those two, We'll clean up here."

M'gann sinks through the floor after shifting her density and you fly through a roof top vent to make your way inside. From there, it's slow going. You and Miss M work your way through the room after room, knocking out anyone you see on the there. But you can't help but feel like you're just wasting time. You find the handiwork of the people your trailing behind. Mercs with shattered armor, broken bones. Some received slightly more gentle treatment.

[Ghost! Look!] M'gann calls you over to a window, and you just barely catch the blue and reds forms of the mystery capes entering two separate buildings. [Titans,we've got less than five minutes!] Donna warns you. You and Miss M share a look, you're going to have to split up again. Who will you take?

You've seen the one in red barreling through everything in his path, you're more of a direct heavy hitter than Miss M. It's a clear choice to you. "I'll take big red, don't hesitate to call if you've got trouble."

"Go it." She flies out through the window, determined look on her face. You slide out between the seams of the window and float down. Dashing over to where you last saw red. It might be heard to track him down if he didn't leave a trail of unconscious bodies. You get the feeling this guy is barely holding back. There's a guy shoved halfway through a wall before you round the corner and see him.

His suit isn't much like anything you've seen before. Looking like some foreign material that melds to his body, rather than him wearing it. The man in red turns to eyeball you as he notices your entrance. The merc he's holding up with one hand still struggling. He scoffs at you. "You look different, guess they got tired of watchin' all their fodder go into the meat grinder."

He slams the man down onto a wooden table, breaking the thing and likely earning the guy a long hospital visit. He rolls his neck, cracks his knuckles. Flashes you a cocksure grin. "I've been hopin' for more of a challenge."

Any other day, a cocky dude like this would make you wanna quick scrap too but you've got other priorities. "I ain't with them, listen man, whoever you are. You've been duped and this place is gonna blow, we gotta get movin' right now!"

He stops to consider your words, and you get ready to contact Robin. When his shadow elongates behind him. First you think Shade reneged on your deal, until the shadow crawls up the red dude's back and whispers in his ear. His expression goes slack, then fills with a rage you've only seen a few times before. He bellows a wa-rcry as he charges you. Taking you by surprise and picking you up.

Your back takes a hit but you land in the next room over after going through a wall. He looks at you with a terrible hatred in his eyes. "You think I'm dumb enough to believe you? After what you've done?!" Raven's prophecy flashes in your mind. But what can you do about it? You duck out the way of his gleaming red claw, which slices through the wall behind you like butter.

You've gotta get him and your own ass out of the hot zone. You don't wanna try and fight him in all this. But he's already focused on you. Maybe you can use that? "Eh, You're right. But I thought it was worth a shot. You're dull enough to believe it."

He just roars and attempts to tackle you. Only for you to shift to your smoke form and pass right through you, demolishing yet another wall. He's not even fazed after using his forehead like a wrecking ball. And looks at your wispy body in confusion. "C'mon red. I know you got more juice than that."

"Oh, I'll show you, you sick son of a bitch!" He dodge and weave out of the way of his huge and obvious attacks, but they destroy anything he happens to touch. Not to mention the strange rippling red aura around his claws. You have no idea what that is, but you've been doing this long enough to know you don't want it to touch you.

Once he gets a little to close for comfort you run outside, with him in hot pursuit. You decide to check in via the mind link. Let everyone know someone's messing with you. [Miss Martian, something's enraged the red guy, I've gotta-]

Your train of thought and run is brought to a halt by the screaming you receive as a response. [Miss Martian! M'gann!] Instinctively, you turn to run back to her location, you to be clotheslined by the big guy. he knocks you on the ground and you roll just before he shoves his claws in the ground where your torso used to be.

Dammit! You can't do anything with this guy on your ass! And you've got three and a half minutes at best!

For a moment, you attempt to contact your team on the psychic link, but a shooting pain in your head stops you as soon as you try. Whatever's happening to M'gann must be interrupting the link. Good thing you never dropped your traditional comm gear. You hail Robin while dodging another glowing claw. "Need some assistance here! Miss Martian is in trouble and I'm too busy!"

"I hear you Ghost, Aqualad is on the way. Have you made contact?" You deliver a quick gut punch to the raging cape to get him off of you and it feels like you just punched a sheet of solid metal.

"Yeah, I made contact alright. I'm leading him out of the hot zone. Keep an eye out for what Raven said, watch the shadows." With that, your forced to cut off as you shift to your smoke form and narrowly avoid to taking one of the big guy's punches right on the chin. "Hey. You're gettin' a little closer every time. C'mon boy. C'mon!" You pat your legs and clap like your beckoning a dog. Which of course, he really doesn't like.

As you dash your way through the streets, you take note of how well the evac went, not a single sign of anyone left behind, even well outside of the blast zone. Reminds you of a conversation dad had with mom once, about how good Metropolis' evac protocols are. A city that regularly comes under attack by aliens and the like outghta be able to move it's citizens to safety really quickly. You're not in Metropolis but you wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the country did so as well.

The big guy seems to be getting tired just when Robin contacts you, this time over the link. [Grey Ghost, the strike is about the hit. You're out of range, right?]

[Oh yeah. And my vip here is gettin' a little winded. How's M'gann?] Looking back, you can see the missiles streaking across the sky. This kind of thing isn't easy or cheap. You can't afford to underestimate these two when you go up against em for real.

[She's doing okay. Ping you location and we'll pick you up.] Alerting the team to where you are is as simple as a push of a button on your goggles. When the missiles hit, it's not exactly like it is in the movies. You can see the explosion above the other buildings. And it even grabs the red guy's attention. Who knows how many people could've been killed, just to take out anyone who discovered them?

Just when it seems like you're about to go for a another round of keep away with big red, a hole opens up in the air above you. Or to be more accurate. The hatch of the Wonderjet opens. And the man in blue from before drops down. His suit is much like red's, only his form is much more slight. Maybe even a little wispy. "Calm down brother, you know what his influence is like. Can't you feel it?"

He just stares at blue in awe, shock on his face. "Dove? I thought... But I saw-" He shakes his head, slapping his own cheeks as if to wake himself up. "Arrgh, dammit. He played me like fiddle. Sorry, Dove."

The one called Dove just smiles. "I don't think I'm the one you should be apologizing to."

"Uh, right. Sorry about the whole, trying to kill you thing." That had to be the most clumsy apology you've ever heard.

You just shrug. "It happens. So who are you guys anyway?"

"Hawk." The red guy points at himself with a thumb. "And Dove." He points at his brother. "Avatars of war and peace. Whatever that means." He says that last part with a sarcastic wave of his hands. Making his brother let out an annoyed sigh.

"Thank you for leading my brother to safety. Your leader wanted to speak with us about the situation. So we should get going. Shall we?" He doesn't have to ask twice, all three of you climb back into the Wonderjet and Donna takes off. You just want to sit down and catch your breath but first you notice that the jet seems to have some extra passengers. About two dozen bound mercenaries.

You look at Robin and he shrugs. "I told you. We don't leave people behind." Of course, it's a little crowded on board with them around so you drop them off with the authorities shortly after. Everyone seems to be on the page as you, just taking a breather after all that.

Before you get into it with the brothers or Robin, you wanna check on M'gann. You pop a squat next to her on one of the several, shockingly comfortably seats on the Wonderjet. "Hey Miss M, what happened back there. You don't look hurt."

She folds her arms, staring at the wall. "Things got complicated. When I'm under so much stress, it gets difficult to maintain a telepathic link."

That doesn't really answer your question. "But what caused you so much grief? Was Dove being influenced too?"

M'gann doesn't respond right away. "No, he wasn't but that didn't stop this... force, whatever it is, from messing with my mind. It showed some uncomfortable things."

Whatever it is, it's at least clear to you that she doesn't want to talk about it. "Alright, well I'm glad you made it out okay." She smiles, albeit weakly, and you move on to the new pair aboard the ship. It's kind of funny seeing Hawk and Dove stand side by side. Hawk is this wall of a person, while Dove almost looks like he couldn't hurt you if he tried.

They're chatting about something with Robin when you approach. "So Hawk and Dove, wanna tell us why you were down there?"

They both look at each other, then decide it's better Dove does the explaining. "We've been tracking someone. Or something, we're still not entirely sure if he's more of an individual or a concept. It's called Kestrel."

"We've been fightin' him ever since we got these powers. But no matter what we do, he just keeps coming back." Hawk's anger is boiling over again just talking about it. You can see his hand clench and relax again and again.

"Yes. All we really know about him is that he revels in creating chaos. Which is the only reason we can think of for why he would be manipulating someone like this, all these mercenaries. A missile strike, it's only going to get worse if we don't stop him." Dove kind of reminds you of Superman in the way he speaks, like all he really cares about is doing the right thing. Hawk really just wants to punch this Kestrel thing's face off. If it even has a face. Either way, you can relate.

Robin speaks up after Hawk and Dove say their piece. "We've been talking, they wanna join us on this. We've got the same goal, really. And I don't think Jackal and Slade stand much of a chance against ten of us."

"So what's the plan, then? They know we're comin' now."

Robin opens up a scan of their true base of operations on his wrist computer. "Things could get really messy with all the meanpower they have. But I figure the simplest plan is the least likely to fall apart. We split the Titans up to nab both of the bad guys. Hopefully we can take out Kestrel first. Since according to Dove, he's the one who's been mentally influencing all these people, even Shade."

"It gets more complicated than that." Hawk interjects. "Kestrel possesses people, doesn't really have a body of his own. We figure, it's gotta be own of your two guys. But it's anybody's guess which."

"Put me on the team against LaFarge." You say. Your not certain why you want him. Maybe to see the man who was ruined by Deathstroke? It's a gamble on whoever Kestrel is possessing. So it doesn't make much of difference. But Rose is more than likely to wanna face down her uncle. And you wanna make sure she makes it through this. You let her come along after all.

"Done. And Ghost, don't push your luck in a fight against these guys. They're professional killers. Crazy guys and crime bosses are one thing, but guys like this... just be careful." You can't help but feel like he wouldn't have said that to you before the fight with Cheshire.

You playfully punch him in the shoulder. "Not about to get myself got now, besides, that's why we're on a team. So we don't have to deal with this stuff alone."

Robin doesn't seem entirely convinced but he's not gonna fight you on it. "Alright Ghost, let's get to work then. Titans! Prepare for a fight."

-----

When you arrive, the base isn't in any state that you or anyone else imagined. The whole place is in complete disarray signs of destruction everyone, the mercs seem to be fighting each other. It isn't hard to get in close with the jet but what's hard is finding your targets. You see the man who must be Jackal out there leading some men. With the nature of their unmarked uniforms, you can't easily tell whose friend or foe.

Robin heads up the first team. Consisting of him, Speedy, Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Wondergirl. They're dropped in smoothly behind Jackal to give them the element of surprise. When you find LaFarge. You find him easily fighting off a group of mercs attacking him. The man is brutal, and his tool set is familiar. He totes an assortment of heavy firearms and has a wicked looking blade sheathed on his back.

As you approach, he he steps on the back of an injured man, still alive. And shoots him. Your group consists of yourself, Artemis, Hawk and Dove, and Wondergirl. So there's not much of a hope of all of you sneaking up on him all at once. So you scout ahead in your smoke form, watching him execute anyone still living.

"You can come out now."

Naturally, you stay right where you are, even just on the off chance that he wasn't talking to you. A couple moments pass, and he sighs, wiping the blood off of his blade on the body of one of his former men. "Come on, forget the games. I know you're there."

Reluctantly, you reform a safe distance away from the man. As far as you know, he can't harm you unless you're in a solid state, but you've been surprised before. "How'd you know I was there?"

"You do this sorta thing long enough you get a sort of... sixth sense." He looks you up and down, examining you. "Grey Ghost, right? Heard all about you from my nephew."

Ravager is in contact with this nutjob? "Only good things I hope."

He just laughs. "Oh he's just lookin' for another scrap. Claims you're the only reason the Titans aren't dead by his hands yet. There any truth to that?"

"Don't like to toot my own horn. I'll let you grade my performance." You move closer, hoping to close the distance and get his attention squared on you. Then you hear footsteps behind you. Rose emerges from cover to face her uncle. You can't see his face under the mask but you can hear the surprise in his voice.

"Well if it isn't my niece! And after all the trouble we went through to bring you to us. You just walk right in." He lowers his gun to his side and opens his arms wide. "C'mon, give your uncle a hug!"

She responds by pointing her own gun in his face. "You know what, I've had a really long day. So let's just skip all this. Why were you trying to bring me here? Why not just go and fight him if you wanna kill my dad so badly."

He runs his hands through his copper hair over and over, frustrated. "No no no no. You just don't get it. You don't understand. It's not enough if he just dies, I'd be doing the world a favor! You need to know. You need to know that Slade Wilson, is the kind of man that leaves a trail of corpses, and broken people in his wake. And you're not exception."

[Titans! The situation has changed!] Robin's frantic voice comes blaring over the link. [Jackal... Jackal is dead. Deathstroke is already here! Disengage from whatever your doing and reconvene!]

You don't know what it is, the shock from hearing Robin that panicked. But Wade sees his opportunity. The deranged man fires on you, knocking you on back and stunning Rose. From your prone position you see Hawk burst through the nearby wall to rush Wade.

>Get back up and fight, he can't take all of you.

Your dazed state doesn't last long. This can all go to shit fast if you react poorly. For now, you should bug out. Robin is the leader for a reason. "Hawk! We're leaving!" You watch this giant man struggle to get a hold of the deranged former soldier, failing to land a solid hit.

"Leaving so soon? Realize you bit off more than you can chew? C'mon Grey Ghost, I wanna see what you're made of!" He rolls out of Hawk's grasp, spinning on his heel and firing the grenade launcher attached to his weapon, blasting Hawk into the next room. "Well, everything's gone to shit here anyway. Might as well have some fun with it!"

One things for certain, this guy sure does love to run his mouth. While Dove goes to assist Hawk in getting out of Wade's range, Artemis backs him up with her arrows. Which he either deftly dodges or slices out of the air with his blade. He returns fire with his own, much more lethal weapon and you provide cover using your heavy form. The bullets have a dull sting to them as they bounce off your body. Slowly tearing up your coat.

Hawk and Dove exit through another door, but you're stuck without an opening. Until Artemis give you one. She fires one of her impact arrows directly down the barrel of his grenade launcher, stalling him just long enough for you to close the distance and grab him by the shoulders. You don't waste any time, tossing him through the window like a brick. He's gonna feel that one.

"Go!" Not much else needs to be said. Everyone exits the building and heads for the waypoint that Robin pinged when he called for you all to fall back. You let out a big sigh of relief when you see the other half of the team waiting for you. Everyone made it out okay.

"Titans. Look up." You hear over your comms. Hijacked by a familiar voice. You follow the voices instruction and your eyes lead up to the corner of roof nearby. A fully armored Deathstroke with a long rifle sits almost casually. "Our lives have become far too entangled lately. Don't you agree?"

"Slade. Listen, this doesn't have to-" Robin tries to control the situation. To no avail.

"No. It's time for you to listen. This is going to be quite simple. My daughter is going to come over to the building I'm positioned on. And they'll be no tricks. No games. The first one of you that moves, dies." You can tell. You can hear it in his voice. He means it. Rose has no idea what's happening without a comm link of her own. She's just staring down the assassin from afar. She'd go to him on her own.

It's a long time before anyone makes a move. Or even says anything. Your all too afraid to make that move. Knowing what's promised. But when that silence is broken. It's not by what any of you expected. Someone is clapping. None of you are, though. And when you look, you see a man you only recognize from a photo. Jackal. With a bullet in his skull.

"Bravo! Bravo Titans! You really know how to make a mess of things, I'm actually quite impressed." Hawk and Dove know what they're looking at immediately, instinctual knowledge of their adversary. " You know, I was just watching the festivities unfold and I just thought. No. This isn't nearly enough. So why don't we bring things to their natural conclusion?"

The hole in his head begins to fill with an inky darkness, spilling out over his body until his form completely changes to it's true state. Looking like a dark mockery of Hawk and Dove's transformed states. His unnatural shadow cast itself over your whole group. And Miss Martian begins to scream. Her voice becoming distorted as vocal cords stectch and morph with her body.

The mint green you know frosting over with a pale white. And the girl you've come to know being replaced by a lanky monster. Everyone is too stunned to try and get the initiative. You barely even notice LaFarge sneak up on Slade on the rooftop. Kestrel cackles like a witch while pouncing onto Hawk and Dove. While the monster M'gann has turned into releases some kind of psychic wave. Sending you reeling with the feeling of hot pokers digging into your skull.

>Go for Kestrel, maybe taking him out will undo what he's done to M'gann.

There's so much happening that your decision is made in the space between seconds. You're barely able to take a step while M'gann twists the knife into your brain. You have to stop her. Or else Kestrel will rip the rest of you apart. Eventually, the mental assault dies down and you fall to one knee, the pale creature that has replaced your friend screeches and moans. You haven't got a clue why it stopped, but it's given you a chance.

Shifting to your heavy form, you charge into her, slamming her strange bone white body into a parked car. Her right arm shifts, splitting and changing into two large graspers that grip you and toss you in retaliation. All you can do is hope for the best as you crash through brick and mortar. Damn! You forgot how much a powerhouse she can be with her shapeshifting.

You stand up from the rubble. And M'gann is already standing over you. Her blood red eyes twitching. All you can do is block before she swipes at you with twisted claws dragging across your arms and nearly penetrating your armor. Now! You deliver a flurry of heavy punches to her abdomen, causing her stumble and sputter, taking your chance, you grip her in a suplex and hope it's enough to knock her out.

Bending backwards, you slam her into the ground. And for a moment, you think it worked. Until she turns intangible and sinks through the floor. You glance over your shoulder, seeing the battle with Kestrel is fully under way. But... where's Speedy? M'gann reminds you that you don't have time to waste on battle you're not fighting, as she rises in front of you. Grabbing you by the throat, and drilling into your mind. A two pronged attack.

>Fight her off and knock her out, it won't be pretty, but it's the only feasible way.
>Try to help her come to her senses. Dove did it for Hawk. So can you.

Just an observation, but from what Queen B and Ravager said about Morgan, he seems to have made quite an impression in his first "official:" outing.
>>
>>3318948
You don't want to hurt her. You've gotta at least try. Dove was able to bring Hawk to his senses, so maybe you can do the same. "Megan, hey! M'gann!" She responds to her name, though more like a rabid animal than a person with any sense. She turns her turbalant gaze on you and you can feel the hostile touch of her telepathy.

It's completely unlike the usual, gentle and asking for permission to communicate. This is more like cold fingers digging into your psyche. Just like when Grodd invaded you mind, you use the connection like the two way street it is. [M'gann! C'mon now, I know you can hear me. You've gotta take back control!]

She struggles against the black cloud of influence in her mind. Screeching and pawing at her own head. [That's right! You don't wanna hurt me, we're a team, we're friends. C'mon back to us.] M'gann attempts to push back against Kestrel, you can feel it. But your encouragement just isn't enough. Black shadows fill her red eyes, and she grips you in a telekinetic hold.

Try as you might, you can't break free of her grasp and she slams you down into the floor, again and again. Your starting to get dizzy, you're armor is cracking. And you can't change forms with her in your mind like this! She finally lets go and approaches you, probably to deal the final blow. Not today, you toss some of your suppressor capsules in her face, getting the gooey substance to block her vision.

It's just the breather you needed. Now what to do...

No. You refuse to just give up. Going back to battle Kestrel would subject the whole team to her psychic attacks. So you can only try again. But you won't just do the same things, banging your head against the proverbial wall. This time, you want to try something else. Instead of trying to reach M'gann with your words. You try to send her images, the times you've shared with her. Your feelings of trust.

For a moment, it seems you've only succeeded in confusing the alien girl. You send your memories of your first meeting, her introduction to the team, your days spent with her at school. You would've thought she'd rage against the broadcasting of all these memories and feelings. Or in her struggle against Kestrel's control. But she seems to be going more and more still.

She twitching and breathing slows down to normal, the tone of her skin begins to turn a familiar mint green, and the harsh features of her bone white monstrous form fall away to show a teenage girl. You both breath a sigh of relief when she opens her eyes, free of Kestrel. [Morgan. I- thank you.]

[Don't even mention it. I'd love to give you some time M'gann, but the team needs us.] You do your best to ignore the dull aching pain in your side and return to the fight outside. It's become an absolute brawl out here. With most of the team trying and failing to get a handle on Kestrel, he seems to only really care about Hawk and Dove, content to misdirect and confuse the Titans. But he actively tries to kill the brothers.

But their holding it together, just barely. You join the fray against several shadows of Kestrel, no doubt created to keep the rest of you busy. A quick assessment of your team reveals something you hadn't noticed. "Where the hell are Speedy and Rose?"

Robin smashes his fighting stick into one of Kestrel's shadows, causing it to ripple and wither. "He went to take her away from the fighting. To safety." Aside front he pair of brothers, you all feel like dead weight against Kestrel, he's no pushover. And he only seems to be getting stronger. As you pop another one of his shadows with a well timed hay maker, you see Speedy and Rose.

Clashing with LaFarge and Deathstroke! What happened to taking her to safety?

>Did mom end up getting that promotion she mentioned in thread 9?
She did! But unfortunately, it also meant a lot more work.

>What's the public opinion on the Gray Ghost?
He's kind of a hot topic in Gotham right now. The more he appears the more people want to know about him.

>How intelligent would you say Morgan is relative top his peers?
He's in the top percentile. Even if he doesn't realize it. Kind of a lazy genius.
>>
>>3320358
Thanks for the answers man. I got a couple more for you, and this'll be it until next time.
What do Morgan's teachers at Gotham Academy think of him as a student?
Is Morgan's mom's name still Lynda? I remember seeing that in the pastebin, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.

>What do Morgan's teachers at Gotham Academy think of him as a student?
He frequently turns in grade A work at the last minute. They think he's brilliant but distracted.

>Is Morgan's mom's name still Lynda? I remember seeing that in the pastebin, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.
Yep. Pastebin is kind of a mess right now.

>How do you imagine Morgan's dad having looked like? We have a vague idea of what his mom looks like, but not dad.
He was a man with sharp features accompanied by a friendly face. He kept his dark hair high and tight. A habit from his time with the military.
>>
>>3321471
How does Morgan’s origin line up against the current state of comics with “The Supermen Theory”? Does “The Supermen Theory” exist as a conspiracy theory on this DC earth?
>>
>>3326252
Since he's a metahuman, who for the most part, are people that have superpowers due to a dormant supergene, I'd say that it lines up perfectly if you would buy into that sort of conspiracy theory. Which yes, it does exist in this particular version of the DC universe. Most people don't buy into it. Especially since China formed their own sort of Justice League.

The US government has tried to make their own superbeings before, anyone who's read enough DC comics would know that. But as for whether Morgan has anything to do with that? Well, those scans seem to detect some unusual things about him. But then again, he has control over his entire molecular makeup. It's bound to be weird.
