In the last session we discovered that mixing dozens of chemicals with various intoxicating properties was a dumb idea and ended up unconscious while our body scrubbed the toxins from our blood. We woke up in the same bed as Sigrid which was most likely just a random occurrence as evidence shows that she woke up, pulled your unconscious body in bed with under armor on while intoxicated and blacked out as well. Viking girl seems oblivious to how embarrassing it was and just wakes up and walks out to prepare for the trip like nothing happened. After a fight with what you can only describe as “gonarch”, the dwarven expedition successfully arrives to the ruins. They look around, write down the results of their investigation and end up visiting Farsalos. In the meantime, the village militia managed to kill one of the giant wolves without your support and things seem to be going well. Time to return the expedition back home and collect your reward.
>>

After spending a night in the village dwarves look forward to trading with Farsalos. While they produce their own food easily, the items and foodstuffs from the surface are considered to be a luxury by dwarves and the other way around. The villagers are also excited. Most only heard of dwarves from stories and the regions with access to dwarven settlements become very prosperous. For the first time in a while, villagers have definite path for prosperity open in front of them that doesn’t almost completely depend on you.

The village militia also seems to be pretty well off. With access to better armor and primitive field artillery, they managed to take down one of the giant wolves. These creatures seem to be highly territorial and attack any human that tries to enter into their domain so this wolf was probably young and pushed out from the territory controlled by other wolves. The militia celebrated their success and then the wolf’s hide made its way to the tanner shop. You are not sure what they are going to turn it into. Maybe a cloak like yours or maybe a rug or a trophy to hang on a wall in the guard barracks? In any case, you think they earned it. It’s a shame that wolf meat tastes terrible.

The interesting event happened when Claudina, the underground elf herbalist that has been living in Farsalos since your first visit to the Labyrinth, asked the dwarves if any of her people made it to their settlements. Surprisingly, quite a few did and in certain regions dwarves have trouble with the influx of tens of thousands of survivors. The situation is… not great to be fair since the underground agriculture has trouble scaling up fast enough. This humanitarian crisis has been going for almost a year now and while in some places the elves managed to either migrate to the surface or introduced their more efficient crops, in others they had to settle in slums just outside of the dwarven territories in regions with high amounts of weak but hostile monsters. Claudina seems relieved that so many of her people made it out but she is upset that they need to suffer from these conditions.
>>
>>3352959
This is… not great. Your village is only around 250 Cenophilans and 80 primitives, you won’t be able to handle influx of hundreds, speaking less of thousands of people. In addition, as harsh as it sounds, they are not your problem at the moment. It would take a lot of resources to ship and support these people through the Labyrinth and it would definitely be dangerous. They would also cause major shifts in the region’s culture. On the other hand, that is a lot of workforce. If you ever start an industrial revolution it would be paramount to have people to work in factories and more people would make a bigger, safer and more prosperous settlement.

This is not an immediate decision and there is no telling how long would it take for the result to start showing.

>Tell dwarves that the village can accept some refugees. More people are needed for your plans. You’ll quickly get some reinforced concrete and industrial farming going or something and get everyone set up quickly
>Propose to move some refugees to the ruined city. They are not dwarves so they should be able to handle changes better and it would speed up the repopulation somewhat at the cost of some societal shifts in the city.
>Farsalos is currently unable to support any more rapid population growths, especially during the winter. You need time to set up everything before you can even consider to invite the refugees
>Who are you to decide what’s better for the village. Propose this to be handled through a popular vote
>Other?

hey dude, had a great birthday?

>Propose to move some refugees to the ruined city. They are not dwarves so they should be able to handle changes better and it would speed up the repopulation somewhat at the cost of some societal shifts in the city.

And we can accept a few here coming spring but not earlier, they can stay at the ruins for a time and then some can move here.

>Tell dwarves that the village can accept some refugees. More people are needed for your plans. You’ll quickly get some reinforced concrete and industrial farming going or something and get everyone set up quickly
>>
>>3352962
oh if it turns out that we invite some refugees, we could keep some situated in our own home, so that it doesn't look like we aren't offering space for our ideas
building should be fast, so no real problem there
>>
>>3352962
Invite some and tell them to settle in the ruins too, it's a new start for both the elves and dwarves there, and we can support those that believe a life in the surface would be acceptable.
>>
>>3352972
>>3352970
Do we want to go over the heads of the Villagers again tho?
>>
>>3352973
We could talk and convince them, we helped them, we protected them, we are just asking that they extebd that mercy to others.
>>
>>3352973
We should talk with them yes, I'm just not sure about a popular vote.

If they are against it we could set up a new village near the mine since it's a little far for Farsalos and proved dangerous to them next time we were there.
>>
>>3352973
You know, maybe we should put up a vote, but I would like to declare support for recieving some and if it fails we could think of an alternative.

Change mine to vote and ruins
>>
Qm, aside from the candles industry, is there any metal industry or other that we already have the raw materials to start production and fet some trade going for either food or varied seeds?

Alright, so we put it on vote but advocate for letting these people in. In addition, we propose that the repopulation can go faster if refugees could be sent to the ruin once it is habitable.
>>
>>3353000
Good for me
>>
>>3353000
Well, they could go early to the ruins and help make it inhabitable, joining the dwarves in the process.
>>
>>3352997
We have a few. Let's see... I really need to separate buildings from inventory at some point...

We basically have everything we need from raw materials to refine iron and steel. In particular, there is a poor magnetite deposit in immediate village area and a large deposit of hematite near to the geyser on the ore side. We have at least two types of fluxes, limestone from the geyser and olivine from nearby area. We also have access to coal from the geyser area but it is polluted by sulfur which matters only for refining coal tar later. Issues would start with heat resistant bricks but that is a small inconvenience.

We have a rich galena deposit which is lead, zinc and silver ore in one and we can straight up build a refinery for that. Lead is needed for chemical industries, electronics, for transparent glass and general construction. Zinc is needed for refining process of noble metals, protection of steel against corrosion, electronics, paints, some medications and some chemistry. Silver is monetary importance metal used for trade among other stuff like medicine. All of that is refined in colored metals plant

We have cinnibar ore in geyser basin which is used to get mercury. It is required for some scheintific instruments and machines such as thermometers and vacuum pumps among many other things. Refined in tier one chemical plant along with stuff like acids.

We almost have access to optic glass. Unfortunately our current sand is terrible for the task but the ruin has access to better suited material and once we get the lead supply set up we can make transparent sheet glass and set off for tings like lenses and electric lighting.

We already have ceramics production, but nearby area has a material used to improve the mechanical qualities of ceramics. The particular kind of clay near to Farsalos is one of the heat resistant types which is very lucky.

We can smelt copper ore in current blacksmith forge building, but the throughput is limited. A colored metals plant should help with that.

We can straight up mine sulfur if we set up the actual mine and a way to transport it through wolf infested territory. Same goes for limestone that is used as construction material and can be turned into flux and plaster among many other uses.
>>
>>3353020
That's a lot of potebtial for industry and trade, and with an expansion of the fields made by the pop we can probably set up some good trade.
>>
>>3353000
You conclude that it would not be fair to decide this by yourself so you requested a village wide vote on the subject. Surprisingly, it took only an hour or so to find basically every adult villager. It turns out that during the winter a large proportion of villagers don’t have any pressing work. In the current economy most people are employed in farming and when it is impossible to farm they become temporarily unemployed. Some pick up a craft but there are limited jobs available in the village in general so for many it is mostly the resting period two or three months long with some random jobs popping up like repairs or construction. You wonder if that could cause any issues. Maybe you should look into more efficient farming so that the seasonal unemployment is not as harsh.

After collecting everyone in the town hall’s auditorium, you’ve made a pitch on how you think the village should accept the refugees. You emphasize that housing won’t be such big of a problem with you around while migrants would help the village grow faster. In addition, it would be an ethical and merciful thing to do.

The villagers were worried mostly due to the numbers so they voted to limit the immediate influx of the immigrants. Basically, they don’t want to be outnumbered by people from a different culture even though they see nothing wrong from welcoming the individuals of their kind. After all, Claudina has managed to settle in pretty well and she helped many of them with her herbal products. Unfortunately, the underground elves lived in am authoritarian society with strict distribution of power reminiscent of ancient bronze age civilizations like Egypt. Villagers voted to accept immigrants only if they wish to assimilate in their culture and only at a certain rate. Not the most progressive opinion, but they are an iron age society. They already display high degree of trust in your judgement by proposing a compromise like this.

The resulting policies are the following: underground elves can live in the rebuilding ruin which would accelerate the reconstruction and give them a chance for a new start. If any of them wants to move to the surface they can establish a settlement right outside of the mine or move to Farsalos as long as they accept the local values and attempt to integrate. The immigration rate would be limited to a third of existing integrated population meaning that around a hundred people could join right now. Last point was that the village won’t accept anyone for permanent stay until the start of spring. Even though you’ve managed to get enough food for 80 primitives and a festival, they are still scared about their own survival. Especially after the starvation period before your appearance.
>>
>>3353091
Dwarves are somewhat fascinated by this way of problem solving and on the way back to the ship you’ve ended up discussing the features and problems of democracies. Dwarven civilization is a collection of essentially city- states and their nearby settlements operated by local monarchs. Most monarchies are absolute with the king having unchallenged power over their subjects with a few of these city- states have a dualistic form of monarchy with an active parliament with power equal to the king. By the end of the discussion the dwarves seem to have changed their opinion on the usefulness of citizen vote, even if attached as a parliamentary organ. Since the expedition leaders usually become rulers in the new territories it is likely that they will establish a dualistic monarchy in Gag Faldur.

Regarding dwarven position on the refugees, they think that it should be proposed to the king. They can see both advantages and disadvantages with the plan so it needs to go through the assembly of kings before any action is taken.

Your group loads up on the ship and sets off for Gelkihm. The path was surprisingly clear and the ship easily arrived back to the dwarven city after which you’ve set off for the noble districts. King Burim was surprised after hearing the report. He probably didn’t expect the actual monster slaying part to be true. Most nobles thought that the monster keeled over from starvation or something, but since the signs of recent battle were obvious, the king decided to keep his word.

From now on, you, Sigrid and Haven are considered “allies of dwarves” which basically gives you all the perks of being a citizen and even some of noble perks without having to become a subject of the royalty. The three of you have the right to permanently settle in any of the dwarven settlements, work, trade freely without tax and purchase land like nobility along with some positive social clout. This title is hereditary but it can be revoked by another king if there is concrete evidence of atrocities or some sort of grievous abuse of the honor. The proof of your status is a masterfully crafted ring with a large stamp on it that includes the heraldry of the king and some unique engravings on the sides that describe the holder and their deed.

After a short ceremony you are invited to attend to a small banquet in the palace. Luckily, all three of you had enough foresight to grab official clothes. You have your chiton, Haven has an ornate ankle- long dress with a complicated plant pattern while Sigrid has a red dress with fur collar and very wide sleeves.

>Attend the party (Writein what you’d like to do specifically beyond having fun. It would mostly be the king and court nobles)
>Excuse yourself, you have a wall to assemble
>Other?
>>
>>3353095
>attend, one night shouldn't be a problem
But after this the wall needs to be build, god dammit
Chat a bit with friends and the new allies (the king, just be friendly) then drink some, but try to keep the last time in mind
>>
>>3353095
>Attend the party

Present to the king our idea about the refugees going to the ruin and helping rebuilding it, as well as the mining settlement and the ones that will go to Farsalos so he knows we will be recieving some too.

Try to be dwarfy with the nobles and Sig but before that talk to Haven, she usually retires early from this things so tonight I want to try and make her loosen up a little, invite her to taste some drinks, maybe participate in a dance and a throwing darts competitions, getting her to have fun and maybe stay a while longer in the festivities with us.

Agreed.

We party today and tomorrow is wall time.

Her godess was jealous of other synthetic gods. She had that "no god before me" thing which sits weirdly when she was a part of the pantheon. Basically her followers are not allowed to serve or worship another deity. Haven's problem was deciding if serving you would be considered as serving another goddess since you are the same type of being.

>>
>>3353284
Well, it is not really a party, more like a dwarven official dinner situation where nobles eat and mingle
>>
>>3353307
Try not to stare at Sig, fail, stare a lot
>>
>>3353124
After a quick change of clothes, you and your friends attend the banquet. You were a bit surprised, since it was more of an official dinner with mostly social mingling than a party that you’ve expected. But then again, it is not like you haven’t had two of those this month, the New Year and whatever happened that ended up with you sleeping in the same bed with Sigrid.

It was kind of awkward because while everyone was incredibly important, they were mostly less than half your size so you had to pay extra attention to not literally look down on them. You ended up mingling with a few dwarven governmental officials and introduced them to the concept of modern accounting. While bookkeeping was done for hundreds of years, the concept of writing debit and credit in separate columns to make it easier to see errors was surprisingly not present in dwarven bureaucracy. To be fair, you had to do the same in Farsalos to make sure everything runs smoothly. Maybe it didn’t survive through the ages and the pantheons just didn’t feel it was important or something?

Haven has joined you during the discussion of the refugee situation. The king listened to your suggestions and said that the refugee problem is indeed severe and if these people were moved to the ruin, they would kill two birds with one stone. Unfortunately, the problems start when you consider how rare those caves are. It has water supply, fertile land, light source, many raw materials, a lot of living space and protection against various horrors of the Labyrinth. That’s prime real estate and elves would rapidly become the majority of the population. There are concerns if they would decide to take the ruin for their own or just massively affect the local culture and policies.

To your relief, the king still thinks it is better than dealing with tens of thousands starving elves all across the nation which drives the crime up and produces discontent among the dwarves. The king also considers it a tragedy. Dwarves are somewhat xehophobic only within their own borders, they don’t want other people dying in general and the situation is highly disturbing for everyone. He will attempt to leverage this solution at the next king council assembly which was called early due to the ruin being cleared out.

The idea about a surface settlement intrigues Burim. That would be very advantageous and the path is incredibly short which would make clearing it easy. It would also help with the food problems which would come along with refugees. Unfortunately, to be useful for refugees, the path between the ruin and the surface would have to be cleared and reinforced almost immediately. Local monster nests need to be neutralized and all unused tunnels need to be blocked with thick stone walls. It would take years for the dwarves while food problems would be immediate. If Farsalos manages to at least clear out the monsters it would massively accelerate the migration process.
>>
>>3353345
There would also be some issues with ownership, however. Usually dwarves discovered a path that emerged to the surface close to existing settlements and the locals refused to give up land and assembled a Labyrinth Fort directly on top to provide defense against monster incursions and in case the dwarves and surface dwellers go to war. In this case, Farsalos is really darn close while this would be a new settlement. It could be made independent or controlled from Farsalos but some kings would want it for the dwarves as it would be incredibly valuable. It might be easier to just plop a fort on top which would make every side equally unhappy or your nation might have to do some more work to steer the decision in their favor. Then again, if the settlement already exists on top it would stay in the ownership of whoever built it first due to an ancient agreement among dwarves(this seems to be a suggestion for action from king's side). You’ll need to think on the subject later.

Sigrid seems to be getting along fine with some military dwarves. They don’t really have knights but they have heavily armored and well-trained nobles that command infantry or bunch up into elite units and the ones in the party apparently really like her stories. To be fair, her culture has some similarities with dwarves and she mostly talks about exploits of her home’s heroes so you can see why they like her. You’ll keep an eye on her just in case, but she seems to be drinking reasonably. She knows when she can get smashed and when she should drink a bit less.

Haven, however, doesn’t seem to drink at all. She took some food for her and she chatted a bit with a few nobles but she doesn’t really actively engage with anyone. When you approach her, she explains that while she knows how to handle herself in such events, she is also like super lightweight when it comes to alcohol. She doesn’t really know how she behaves when she is drunk so she is conscious about it.

>Suggest to at least take some part in drinking with you. You can make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid
>She doesn’t have to drink to chat with other people. Let’s just mingle for a bit
>If she doesn’t want to, its fine. Just chat with her about writein

She needs to loosen up a little, it's not always we have dwarven ale availible and it would be good for her, tell her we will take good care of her.

get her talking more with a bit of booze, maybe play any dwarven table gables they may have after the dinner, the loser has to answer a question truthfully each round, we aswer what she wants to know if she wins and we ask some things for her for exemple, what was her most frightening moment, when she felt most happy, if she has any boy/girlfriend back home
if Sig gets into the game too we answer the questions about our powers later to Haven since Sig doesn't know much
tomorrow we go to the city to get that damn wall and make Farsalos great.....well...not again...but for the first time

Haven first tries to find an excuse but you manage to finally talk her into agreeing to drink with you. You promise that you’d take good care of her if she gets drunk and won’t let her do anything stupid. So you ended up getting her the drink that seemed to have the least amount of alcohol in it. It was some kind of mushroom wine that had a strange purple color. It had an interesting taste and it is apparently extremely easy to grow almost in any condition, but dwarves treat it like people treated GMO algae biscuits in your time. Something that is slightly more preferable to starvation. Or in this case to not being slightly tipsy. Eh, still better than Ceno ale with flies.

You’ve expected some games after the meal, but it was a kind of endless mingling experience. There were these tables with appetizers that were constantly refilled and dwarves were mostly busy discussing the things that were important for them. Some stuff about one of the dwarven kings setting up panel glass windows imported from Holies, some stuff about how messed up the food situation would get in half a year if they continue the refugee support, some taxation business, how recently dwarven military plowed through a group of creatures that were blocking the path with a nearby settlement, that sort of stuff. They did discuss your success though, many are interested both in re- establishing river trade with dwarves to the south- east as well as new possibilities with the surface access. In general, it was not very important for you so eventually you stopped information fishing and decided to set up some entertainment yourself.

Sigrid and Haven joined you in the tradition almost as old as glass bottles. The bottle was placed on a small table and spun. The bottle’s throat on the first spin would choose the person who asks the question and on the second spin it would pick someone who would answer.

First roll ends up on you and then it points at Haven. You decide to ask her what was her most frightening moment. She doesn’t really know how to answer. She thinks that it really depends on why the moment was frightening. There were a couple close calls when she was almost forced to get engaged with people with whom she would prefer death to being together in the same room.
>>
>>3353811
There was also a moment when she was a sole survivor from a monster attack. The creature was some kind of large insect and their intel was wrong. The group consisted out of three melee warriors in heavy armor, Haven and a dodgy and neurotic mage who could produce explosions but it always caused him splitting headaches. The creature sprayed a highly corrosive mist that reduced the three fighters into puddles of foaming armor and acid burns immediately incapacitating them. They died painfully for minutes and their screams still haunt her. The mage guy booked it into the woods and was never seen again while Haven barely managed to kill the creature by an incredibly lucky shot that damaged the acid spraying organ.

She thinks that the most horrifying thing was actually that forgotten beast fight. That creature was quite imposing even for you, to be fair. From her point of view, it was that invulnerable mountain that could wipe out a city within minutes. The largest and most powerful thing she has ever seen in her life. And then it proceeded to throw you head first into the wall. She was really scared that you’d die. You’ve always been so strong and reliable. She didn’t want to lose another friend and she could do nothing to stop that thing…

Haven tears up a bit as both you and Sig try to cheer her up and she manages to regain her composure getting very embarrassed about it. She was also very tipsy and she seems to be the sleepy type. She ends up leaning against you and drifting off in the middle of the next spin.

The next roll ends up on Sigrid and she asks you to tell her how exactly you’ve managed to kill that monster. She says that the creature was obviously too big to take on even with siege weapons she saw on the walls and she knows Haven, the elf girl almost never shows emotion like that. She said it as if she couldn't do anything in that fight.

> ”The truth, I managed to kill the creature all by myself because I am a goddess… technically. Don’t tell anyone”
> ”It is… hard to explain, but I am just way stronger than you think”

later we have to take Haven to sleep, maybe stay at the room to make sure she does nothing she would not like, sit in an armchair or something

P.S.: poor Haven cares a lot about us, almost lost it when she thought we were dead

You look around and note that there is no one close by so you turn back to Sigrid and say quietly: “well, there is a reason why those crabs couldn’t get anywhere close to us. I basically did this, but with a boulder”. Then you make a circle with your finger and the bottle that was lying on its side turns and places itself upright without you ever touching it. Sig’s jaw drops. It takes her a few moments to regain composure but she finally manages to reply by saying “explain me everything when we get back, ok?” to which you nod in agreement.

Then she says that since you can do this, the game becomes a bit meaningless, so it is just your turn to ask her something. So, you ask her what she thinks about you. She says that she is not sure now. When you first entered in that inn you didn’t look much like a monster hunter. Your armor was shiny and golden, you didn’t seem to have much in terms of musculature and your face was way too perfect for someone who’s job is to hunt and kill murderous horrors 10 hours a day. You looked more like some noble who has just received a very expensive suit of armor but having essentially zero experience. You’d still be very useful in battle though since people with that much money usually have amazing trainers and/or remnant bloodline powers.

Then you’ve claimed that you’ve killed the Blight of Farsalos. Sig knew one of the guys in that team which tried to kill it a while ago. Very briefly, to be fair, but enough to know what his gang was capable of. They were local minor celebrities. They never lost a member in battle and thanks to their healer they recovered from injuries that would be career- ending like torn off limbs. And they died almost wholesale to a single beast. At that point you were either an amazing trapper and warrior or a huge liar. Your plan, however, was bold and seemed to have the best chance for success than what they initially planned against the giant snake. They wanted to mainly just shoot it to death over several encounters but since you’ve offered to essentially tank it, they could pull it off in just a single fight so they decided to give it a shot anyway.

After your performance, your original story instantly became much more believable. The amount of damage you shrugged off and the skill and strength with which you fought placed you far beyond what was expected. Sigrid compared it to how her sister fights large monsters. But you were obviously not someone who was an incredibly famous huntress like her. If you were, every child in the town would know the legends about your exploits.
>>
>>3354296
After your explanation of being same kind of person as Bloodline Founders it made a lot of sense. These people were the start of all powers. Before them people had no magic and no heroes. These people shared some of their power, but after generations it has faded and fractured. They were told to have 2 or 3 different powers and those were beyond anything even most powerful heroes could pull off today. Your sudden appearance and the fact that you claimed to have been asleep for long also fits that idea and Sigrid was fascinated.

For her it would be like for you meeting Elvis Presley. A person who is very legendary but also supposed to be very dead for hundreds of years. She liked the stories about those ancient kings and heroes and meeting one was like a dream come true. But then you had to leave to work on the village and Sigrid needed to continue working where she was wounded and ended up stuck for over a month.

Then Haven passed her a letter from you inviting her to this holiday from your time that you organized in the village. She was so excited and it was very enjoyable. She still wanted to know more about you and your stories were interesting and sounded plausible but she had a nagging feeling that you were hiding something from her. She thought that if she gets to know you closer, she could learn more on the truth behind the time you were from and who you really were. Thus, she decided to join you in your travel to the dwarves.

When you’ve arrived to the ruin, she was shocked by the size of the dead creature. She only heard of few sea monsters that could reach that size. There was evidence of battle everywhere and it was pretty obvious that it was killed mainly by getting its head crushed repeatedly by rocks too massive for any siege engine she could think of. This creature was basically unbeatable for anyone who was not a Cup Bearer.
>>
>>3354313
That’s when she first figured out that you were definitely not who you claimed to be. But anything within the fitting range of powers would either be a deity, their direct servants or those rare Outsiders. All of those are almost all powerful and absolutely unpredictable so she was scared. She decided that showing that she fears you could tip you off so she played along and just made it seem that she didn’t notice how giant monster was killed.

The next important event happened when you’ve carried her to the inn room and blacked out. She realized that you also have limits. Yes, you drank an inhuman amount of booze, but you still eventually got drunk. In addition, it was very nice of you to carry her all the way in that intoxicated state. She now had evidence that you were at least somewhat human (and not just pretending) and cared about her. It was so sweet that she decided that it must be very uncomfortable to lie unconscious on a wooden floor so she lifted you into the bed and also blacked out.

All in all, it seems that from her perspective, she hasn’t really managed to understand who you are and she is very confused. Since she met you, she saw you as a rich but inexperienced girl, then as a living ancestral hero and now she is guessing that you are an Outsider or a goddess in disguise. You were hoping for something personal, like if she likes your personality or something, but to be fair, you just blew a freaking time bomb on her. Maybe she would see you more like an individual if she knows more about you?

well, she wants to know about us? let's tell her about us, we weren't always this powerful, we actually had a hard time staying alive, until the day we went to sleep for a long time, and woke up with these powers, we are a girl just like her, but in a body unlike any other, we like things, we laugh at things and we cry and feel sad when we remember what was left behind.
look her in the eyes and ask her what she thinks about us, not what we are, but about us?
does it really matter what we are? Will she think any different depending on what the answer is as long as we act like we always acted?

I guess Ag never had someone close that wasn't father mother or uncle, or even then.

thanks for running

Dear players, I may have fucked up. I've just became aware of a massive error that I’ve made. Apparently, you need a LOT of fields to feed a family. In medieval times it is 17 ha per 10 people. To feed Farsalos we need like 6 square km of farmland which is WAY more than what we have. it would be around 95% farmland 5% town. Thus, I have to issue first (and hopefully last) minor retroactive fix. Pick the one you like:

Option 1:
1) Farsalos is no longer self- sufficient in terms of farms. The farms that we have physically can't supply the entire village with enough food. They do make diets varied since you can't live off meat alone and they barely keep up with demand when paired with hunting and gathering.
2) Farsalos now has more hunters to supplement the diet with game. A lot of them now double in the militia and thus we have some peasants turned into extra bowmen free of charge. Essentially adds 10 more hunters/bowmen
3) Local crops were biosculpted to grow incredibly rapidly in harsh conditions but they don't differ much from normal crops in other ways. They now deplete soil at a faster rate meaning every 2-3 years at least the field has to be abandoned. That is still insufficient, but it allows for the current village being fed fully by just 4 to 6 times the current field area. Field output slowly drops with time but that can be negated with modern fertilizers. Forget about it and people will get in a lot of trouble.
4) While it can barely survive off hunting, Farsalos now imports the majority of foodstuffs using local ceramics and copper production. This is the main source of supplies to store for winter. It provides additional economic factor making internal economy more likely to occur within near future with all the good and bad that entrails
>>
>>3360266
Option 2:
1) ALL farms now lack palisade protection meaning higher risk of lost civilians during monster attack. Special construction projects can be completed to lessen or negate this effect
2) Farsalos stays self- sufficient and with realistic growth times for normal crops. Current production is bigger than the demand allowing for complete lack of reliance from food exports or even hunting with some buffer for pop growth and potentially even food exports. Getting biosculped crops remains an option in the future and same for the rest of the farming projects.
3) Field decay stays at nominal levels giving you around 20-25 years before you need to consider drastic sustenance measures. With current game progress the decay mechanic can basically be ignored as we will reach fertilizers with a lot of spare time
4) The area around Farsalos that is required for the farms is now immediately scouted, expanded and cleared from the forest and all planned monsters in that area are removed. The farms get placed to the north- west in currently unexplored territory. Mill building is moved to the farm area. A geosurvey will be required to plot the additional mining opportunities
5) Farms no longer take up space within the town’s perimeter allowing for easier growth of population and industries.
5) As an extra apology, a position of a sizeable river gets revealed by the farm position. The river flows from the depts of the forest in the direction of the Mad Goddess landing area. This is a MAJOR strategic asset. Not only for power but also for potential trade and cargo shipping once it is scouted and monster dens are cleared

I highly recommend the latter option because it would mean the least inconsistencies with current canon, but the choice is up to you guys. Please pick what you like the most:

>Option 1: keep the farm size at the cost of food sustenance and soil decay. Bonus archers and bio sculpted crops
>Option 2: change farms to realistic proportions for self- sufficiency. Bonus river and town space
>>
>>3360268
>>Option 2: change farms to realistic proportions for self- sufficiency. Bonus river and town space

after building the wall, we should build small towers with a scorpio in it close to the fields for some protection, but the farmers should be fine if we give the towers bells to ring in case of danger
>>
>>3360268
>Option 2: change farms to realistic proportions for self- sufficiency. Bonus river and town space

>>3360276
Agreed, the towers coild be place either further away from the crops and a horse given to the watchmen, this way they can alert to approachig danger.

And the extra space withing the palisade could be used for industry or luxury crops os something
>>
>>3360268
>Option 2: change farms to realistic proportions for self- sufficiency. Bonus river and town space
we can still add palisades again at a later date, but maybe make it one of our priorities again and/or get the villagers working
>>
so we are a psionic god able to crush the bodies of anyone we come across, we had the oportunity to be worshiped as a deity since its what the priest was going for. and now nearly 30 quests later we are still playing farmer to some backwater town? Seriously? somewhere along the way we seriously messed up.

So how about we let the town fend for itself now that we have set it on a damn good path. And we go do something grand? I don't know like start a cult, conquer a continent, bring back old tech to serve us. somenthing, please, something that is not farming.

To be fair, this is quite important to build up the village. Currently it is on the verge of becoming a town. Once it is a town the villages could start appearing around it and there is also that upcoming dorf surface settlement. It is quite possible to claim these areas for you as a fully independent state and expand through the unclaimed wilderness territories through Ag’s power and technological advancements. We didn’t sign any technologically limiting treaties after all. Also the industries you construct can be run as actual companies giving Ag funds and resources for more projects. We haven’t actually farmed since we fixed the population crisis.

The other bonus of building up industrial base is that some projects rely on massive amounts of certain goods. For example, mechanical computer complex which is needed for early factory automation would require mass produced gears. And don’t get me started on requirements of internal combustion. It is like playing factorio. Yes you can hand craft a lot of stuff but it is plain faster to have machines do it.

>Option 2: change farms to realistic proportions for self- sufficiency. Bonus river and town space

>>3360335
It is your choice though. There are many other things to do and every time we finish current tasks I give you guys opportunity to choose next goal. Do you want to build? Or research stuff? Or maybe travel and explore? Or some social stuff maybe? There is also always a writein option. If you don’t like building it is possible to go through Labyrinth or learn how to fly or show up to Ceno’s pantheon or something. And that is all not counting events both conditional and timed.
>>
>>3360335
>>3360339
I'm happy with building up for now and maybe getting some industry going, I'm in no rush to become a goddess but maybe we should interact more with the Ceno pantheon, like you said, we are building and doing what we think its best at the time

Hey, i have some questions
>>What are the advantages and disadvantages of completing the pod augmentation for the toddler in our house and how much time will it take?
If we can get the toddler on our side, we will be much stronger.
>>If we power our pod and reprogram it or whatever can we get more powers and will Ag have to stay inside just like first time or is it quicker since we did it before?
>>
>>3368947
The advantages of opening the pod is that we will get access to another synthetic god. Someone we could probably get on our side and whose powers could be useful. This might help if we want to establish an independent pantheon or have an SG sidekick or something. However, we know next to nothing about who that is and what they have except the fact that they most probably have some kind of psychic power related to telepathy and they definitely have a "subspace body" posthuman augment. Judging by the dreams we saw, the occupant is most probably female and in the range of 13-15 years old. However, they can be older since those dreams could be old memories or they might be memories from "the side" made by someone who was close to the girl but the latter is unlikely. We currently speculate that two things are likely if we try to power the pod:

1) It would definitely be risky. The pod was damaged and we know that malfunctioning pods can cause some nasty things. Nike' said that The Fallen (giant dragon with nuclear breath) was caused by catastrophic pod malfunction. We also know nothing of who that person is. The pod is "mark 2" meaning it was in the first wave launched by Elspeth and she had unknown criteria for psychological stability of her test subjects. It was most likely laxer than the one used for your wave. Is that going to be a confused girl, monster with godlike powers, insane transhuman to- be tyrant or someone else? Then again, is that ethical to judge the person by their potential to cause harm?

2) Our ability to negate precognition is what's keeping us from being instantly discovered by the pantheon. That means they don't know about the pod because if things go as they do now the occupant would die and have next to no influence on the future. However, the moment we plug it into sufficient power generator, the precognition would "update" and, considering our location, every pantheon would attempt to requisition the new deity for themselves. SGs are VERY valuable. We need to be prepared to turn the guests around and by force if necessary. For the sake of safety and time saving we could dump the pod to Ceno pantheon for revival but then they are likely to have more influence on both you and that pod person. Else we need to have enough firepower to make it not worth the while of the pantheons for around two weeks. I recommend a lot of nitro- powder cartridge firearms and maybe even a couple Cups by that time.

To make a very rough comparison, imagine that you are playing Stellaris and you found an L- gate. You can open it for the resources and maybe even that "Grey" character but you can also fuck up everyone in the galaxy on accident and have to fight the Grey Tempest with early game 20k poorly optimized fleets. Thus, it would be riskier to open the L- gate when you don't have sufficient fleets to blast apart the possible nanite fleets along with those couple players nearby that might want the place for themselves as well.

Regarding your second question, the process of reanimating the pod is very much mid- late game (we are still in early game) and it would need significant infrastructure and effort. We'll need modern equivalent supercomputers at least, isotopically precise fusion fuels and vast amounts of information from other pods among numerous other things. It is, however, unlikely that we could use it on ourselves. The pods are not just nano-assemblers that modify by the blueprint. Radical modification on that scale is massively beyond human knowability. They contain a powerful and unique neural network(savant but not self- aware AI) that runs calculations and simulations of all the interactions between the augments for decades. In the case of mark 2 pods it could even take centuries.

From the purely material gains point of view, it might be possible to salvage the pod technology to process people into higher quality Cups than just biosculpting with your augments as blueprint. These Cups would have an option of getting augments that you don't have like biosculpting or energy manipulation while also getting higher potential for power development. They would need to go past a difficult medical evaluation process needed to calibrate the device (a technology that was not contained inside the pods) and at the moment you get this technology the success rate for augments would be relatively low. It is most likely going to take around an in- universe year or more for the pod to finish cooking the Cups.

It would be possible to make better pods. Once the technology is researched it can be improved. You might be capable of programming psi “spell” containing materials as a kind of psychic assembler to augment existing nanoassemblers for more rapid modifications or you could augment the pod’s computer for faster and safer synergies. It might be possible to modify it to the point it could make SG grade modifications to people in years or even months. The question then would be only if you should.

Regarding augmenting Agatha, the options are somewhat limited. There is a reasonable limit for the amount of powers that the pod can digest. The more powers- the more time the pod needs to calculate interactions. In addition to that, more augs can have unpredictable consequences for Agatha’s personality and mind possibly result in personality death. Since Agatha is already augmented, it would be much harder to augment her further. It is possible that she would have to build a unique and extremely expensive pod from scratch with rare technologies that could take thousands of years to apply everything. She would be the most powerful SG ever if she is so sure that in another 5000 years no massive fuckup would turn Earth lifeless and if she is willing to leave everyone she knows including possibly other SGs behind. This is a valid endgame condition. Do not worry, with Ag’s current power potential we won’t be hitting the absolute ceiling any time soon.
>>
>>3368994
So we could turn the pod in a cup generation chamber, that"'s interesting and would be an alternative to just asking a bioscullptor, consider that my current goal for it.

As for the child pod, it is damaged, if we canibalized it could we make the necessary changes to our pod faster?(after waking up its occupant some time from now of course)

Also, can we extract information from the pod regarding its occupant? Name, medical history, psychological profile and other info?
>>
>>3369015
The mark 2 pods lack personal information on purpose. Elspeth didn't want anyone to know who is in the pods since she only had arrangement for 500 year project that made Bloodline Founders, not extreme 2000 year one. We could potentially access it but that would take much longer than just cracking it open.

The pod's damage is extensive. Its external diamondoid hull, CPU unit and fusion power plant are damaged beyond repair and can only be salvaged for rare resources such as superconductors. Nano- fabbers, augment memory storage and hafnium batteries are functional and can be salvaged directly. The question would be if they can be used without a ton of prep work. Our pod, on the other hand, is fully intact and only lacks a power source. It, however, can't be accessed or even refueled without a computer with wireless access and it only accepts extremely high tech fusion fuel that is vastly beyond us.

Guys I think the Senses package has alot potential that we didn't unloack yet since both the body and mind packages are so op we need to get creative and unlock our potential
>>
>>3369034
That could be a good idea, maybe we could sense raw material, extra dimensional stuff or even sense dangers and monsters in the immediate area

We were already able to see those sub dimentional things with it

>>3369048
Exactly
>>
>>3369048
Actually, subspace ping is mostly Mind+ Spacetime augs. You are correct though, there is a lot more to senses.

After finishing the wall we should try to go as deep as we can in the labyrinth maybe we can find something usefull or learn something about our abilities from encounters
