YOU WAKE UP IN A ROOM.

Or, you did about an hour ago, and then you were tired, so you went back to sleep, but now you've woken up for real.

It's a pretty boring room. All that appears to be there is a MIRROR, some kind of HATCH on the floor, and a DOOR WITH NO KNOB.

Your HP is at maximum and your DP nearly minimum, so you're feeling pretty fine. You're not sure what they stand for but you know that HP is a general indicator of how close you are to dying, and DP is a measure of how in-touch with reality you are.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
>>
Actions will be guided by a majority, as usual for these sorts of quests.

If you believe in it, it's probably true. So believe as hard as you want!
>>
press face against mirror, maybe it's just one way

Unfortunately, Pablo does not quite have the dexterity required to spin kick the window.

>>3361280
It appears to just be a mirror that reflects the rest of the room. Nothing weird there.

>>3361328
>>3361284
You expend 1 DP into BELIEVING that the door is a very large doggy door set into the wall.

Your overactive imagination also BELIEVES that there is a dogipede behind the door.

You begin hearing its many, many legs almost immediately.

>>3361290
You knock on the door and hear a skittering, rough bark in response.

>>3361331
Well, you spent a DP so you're feeling a little more in touch.
>>
>>3361338
Now, see, I thought this was Ruby Quest but it actually appears to be Problem Sleuth. That works as well.

Open the doggy door.

You head towards the dead RAPACIOUS DOGIPEDE. Already, it is beginning to harden and firm up, like a stone, with the blood starting to get gooey and gelatinous.

Ew.

You huff some nonetheless. It is sharp and acrid in the way blood shouldn't be, and it makes your head swim. You take a big inhale, and then hold your breath until your vision starts to swim.

You let out a loud puff of breath. Everything is feeling FAR LESS REAL. You're not sure how much more MONSTER BLOOD you can huff without passing out though, and you don't feel super safe passing out here.

You regain 3 DP!

NOW WHAT?

As it turns out, you do not need to spend DP. When you approach the shivering, shuddering blanket, and give it a careful pat patting, the person underneath shyly reveals HERSELF.

She introduces herself as STEPH, short for STEPHANIE. She woke up here about an hour ago, hiding under her blanket when a MAN WITH NO FACE appeared, cut some kind of weird hole in the wall, and then disappeared out of it.

That's probably your double.

STEPH sits on her butt and ties her blanket into a little cape. She asks if you'd like to travel with her, since you look a little tired and scared and could probably use the company.

She's also not sure really how to get out of here, and the fact that the MAN WITH NO FACE looked KIND OF LIKE YOU leads her to believe that there's some sort of connection.

WHAT SAY YOU?
>>
>>3365503

Accept STEPH's offer and join her.

she has a cape and you dont, thats not fair. We must not be outdone and outfashioned by this adorable little wretch. Use DP to create a bigger and better cape than her's and apoint yourself as the better fashion man
>>
>>3365721
You can't use DP to manifest objects from nothing. You can only use it to REINTERPRET environmental objects, or to determine the unknown contents of some kind of external object or room!
>>
>>3365722
Well, obviously mirror self carved a hole into the CAPE DIMENSION. We'll have to follow him in to obtain one.

You exit the IDEA DOOR into the CAPE DIMENSION.

Huh. A little emptier than you thought a CAPE DIMENSION would be. But somehow, in your heart, you can tell this is somehow the CAPE DIMENSION.

Weird. At least the door is still there. You really don't actually remember what going through it felt like, but your brain tells you "Probably like an elevator, kind of.".

STEPH asks you what your plan is? The air is kind of thin up here but you dont feel like you're in any immediate danger.
>>
>>3366215
Swing down into that window. Must be cape storage.

>>3367912
>>3368228
You poke the pile of capes with the flat of your sword, trying to make sure there's nothing under it that can attack you.

There does not appear to be anything in it that can attack you. It does, however, look COMFORTABLE. That is as much of a value judgment as you can draw.

Without BELIEVING that it is alive, it probably will remain dead, unless SOMEONE ELSE believes that it is alive.
>>
>>3368297
Important note - You cannot both gain and spend DP in the same update unless you already had DP to spend, and, furthermore, you can only go below 0 DP in life-or-death situations, the consequences of which are... Dire! Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Indeed, you have kind of noticed the other door far off in the distance, so you and STEPH go visit it! Travel is quick when you can BOTH FLY, something she only kind of questions, and your answer is something like "I thought we could, so I think we can,", and she seems to accept that.

You arrive safely, and your MIRROR DUPLICATE is nowhere to be found. This IDEA DOOR seems... Bigger. Jaggedy-er.
