Or, boy, at least. But in this post-apocalyptic cloud city, there's so many things to worry about besides. Having only recently emerged from the safety of the shelter you spent your entire life inside, with your mother and your dog, you have had to adjust to life in the outside world; a ruined city choked by toxic clouds that seem to reach to the horizon. Fortunately you have received help from some scavengers who dwell in an old skyscraper above the clouds, and they have taken you in and offered you a place among them in their community and their home. It's been about twenty days then since you left your shelter, and most of them since spent living with the scavengers of whom you've gotten to know a few and become known by all for your strange circumstances. Slowly but surely you are acclimating not just to the outside world but to other people as well, and while life is tough outside it's not as deadly or hopeless as mother had always led you to believe. It's no shelter, this new life but you're starting to get used to it nonetheless.Something it's made you think though, is why hasn't anyone cleaned things up since the big war? Maybe that's something you could do, after you find a way to contribute to the community, and when mother returns.>A post apocalyptic quest in a ruined city...
>>3382653For the time being though, it's only a little after midday. Plenty of time to do as you like, though you've been increasingly limited in what you're allowed to. Ever since the truth of your identity was discovered, people are still trying to come to terms with it and make some sense. The first boy in... nobody knows how long?Well right away obviously, you weren't allowed to leave the skyscraper anymore, no crossing the gap to other standing structures. Too dangerous! Or so you've been told. At least you have the chance with your friends your age though to sneak off and try to explore the lower floors of this building instead? Ah, no, eventually you were caught or ratted out so now you're not allowed to do that anymore. You're still able to do as you wish around the inhabited floors but you're forced to sleep in your own room now after people kept bothering you and invading your privacy while you slept. You're not a literal prisoner, but it's starting more and more to feel that way. Then again, you did spend your entire life before now living in a shelter of just a few rooms so it's not like you're unused to such containment. It doesn't even bother you that much, as it stands, it's just a little upsetting to not be able to spend time with your new friends when they want to go out.>What do you do?

That's all she ever told you and all you ever knew at least.>>3382708>>3382711>>3382715>>3382702>>3382697If you are to be confined to such limited living spaces, why not annoy your captors? If nothing else, Daisy, your dog will annoy them as she barks at most people.First though before you seek out any elders or your friends, you consider places to hide things in your own room. You're still getting used to living in it, as you were only given it a few days prior so having some further privacy to yourself is a comforting thought. For the hiding effort, make a roll of a d100!

>>3382848Well, we are good at hiding stuff heh
>>3382845>>3382840>>3382839>>3382817>92As it so turns out, after spending a good while searching through your room, you notice Daisy keeps scratching at the floor after having crawled under the bed."What is, Daisy?"You can't move the bed yourself but can easily crawl under there after her and with the light from your phone you can search for what she seems so interested in. It seems like nothing at first, like when mother said dogs see ghosts so will stare or bark at nothing sometimes. But her constant scratching does seem to disturb the old carpeted floor of this room, and upon further investigation you can actually pull up the corner with some ease and find beneath it some sort of hatch within the flooring. "Oh, good Daisy!"Of course she'd be interested in it because there's some old biscuits hidden away in a little metal box. Therein though you can also find what looks like a crawl space beneath the wall? You're not sure where it leads, so for now content yourself to just looking through some other belongings stashed there by who knows from before you. Mostly just some personal belongings, pictures, some clean clothes, some medical supplies, and a couple books? A journal it seems, this one was written in by someone rather than having everything printed on it first. An interesting find for sure, thanks entirely to Daisy's nose. But nice to know you can still do some exploring even when you're confined!Well now, in any case you feel content to have found this in your room so want to find something to do in the rest of the building. You had considered pestering some elders, or seeking out friends your age? >Had you a preference or just whichever you can find first?

Can touch Daisy?""Um... no."After leaving your room and wandering around the halls for a bit on these upper floors, you encounter Maria trying to figure out how to unlock a door. Apparently some of the little girls locked themselves inside and are scared and crying to get out. She would have gone for help but it's the personal room of one of the adults who might get angry about it, but with your presence that's something. Of course first thing Maria wants is to pet Daisy but the dog bristles and growls at her so you advise against it.Together with Maria though you try and get the door working together and eventually figure out that it can't be unlocked at all from this side without a key or the right code, so doing your best together, you can manage to talk to the girls inside down to some amount of calmness. At least enough to try and undo the mess they got themselves into, and finally with a mechanical sound the door is able to be opened as three younger girls come out crying and hugging you and Maria as their savoirs, hoping they aren't in trouble. "What is? We am room sneak, Aliyah no lock room?"Attracted by the commotion, Jess makes herself known appropriately enough. Just her, but at least another girl around your age along with Maria. The latter of which wants to get the little girls back with the others, but after that would be happy to spend time with you. Finally caught up, I'll hazard a guess and say that Mother is actually our father, and the Green Queen that was referred to is the Statue of Liberty. You considered going into Aliyah's room now that it's open, and you could now, but if they were afraid of getting in trouble you have some worry too. Maybe later?"No pull so! Can go.""Shh, shh! Can be quiet of secret?"Although you and Jess have become close friends since your time coming to live here, she still doesn't like being yanked around. Her complaints are cut short though by her own curiosity, as her eyes go wide and a smile give her answer. Looking around for safety, you close the door to your room (something she and the other girls are jealous of for not having their own) before you motion for her to follow you crawling under the bed, this time with your flashlight in hand rather than just your phone. "Oooh... what is? You make?""Daisy find..." you answer, shoulder to shoulder with Jess as the two of you look down into the crawlspace and she reaches to try and look through the bag, "...some secret place no else.""Come let look!""Oh, um..."You'd just wanted to show her what you found, but right away she wants to go exploring which makes you nervous. Who knows what could be down there? But she's already crawling down into the space and tugs at your hand with an excited grin, which you can't help but share and want to follow after. After helping her down and then her helping you to follow, you push the old bag aside and then crawl after her through the space beneath the floor as the two of you go. It doesn't take long as you navigate past old supports and metalwork, frames and pipes that you start to recognize this place as similar to the inter-ceiling space in the office building from before. You quickly end up bumping into Jess's backside when she stops short though, and together you find a similar hatch in the roof of the space here, struggling to both push it up but failing."Maybe is... some room? Not all wall strong inside one and other, some cut big room in half or some."Jess seems to think that it may just be another bedroom and that a wall was put up between yours and this other to make two rooms out of a larger one. It sounds strange to you as why anyone would do that, but she says it's been encountered in the building before. As for the hatch, probably a bed or something on top of it (or the carpet above it), is the best she can assume.
An interesting find but rather small and a bit of a letdown. Along the way back there is one more hatch downwards Jess notices, but whether you go after it is your choice, she wants to get back to your room to look through the bag.>What do you do?
>>3383107>Downwards!
>>3383107>>What do you do?ONWARDS INTO THE UNKNOWNBut we need a weapon

>>3383107Go down
>>3383146>>3383131>>3383126>>3383119You're not sure what to expect, but when else are you going to come down here? So grabbing hold of Jess's leg, you get her attention and move for the other hatch. Of course she'd rather the bag, but won't just leave you so together you crawl over to the remaining hatch in this small space and look it over."Is stuck? Can no nothing... push up?""No, is old. Us both."The thing seems closed fast but Jess is confident it's just the age of the place, so together at the same count you push down with all your weight. There is a jostling, the sound of cracking, and before you have the sense to realize this isn't a good sign the hatch breaks open and the two of you tumble down."Owww owie!""Eurgh... ok is?"With not but the flashlight which one of you is sitting on, it's difficult to see in the small dark space and with all the dust. A good bit of pain too as the both of you are tangled up together in a heap, though eventually the soreness subsides and you and struggle to free yourselves of one another. There's still very little room to move but Jess is able to pull out the flashlight so you can see. "All ee-lec-trics?"That would explain part of the painful fall, it seems you landed atop one of the familiar piles of e-scrap that Jess's people collect. She's able to find a door though and push it open a little, where she gasps and pulls you close to try and show you through the crack."See bed? Some is room..."Whispering, she points out what is clearly someone's bedroom and so this must be their closet. Thankfully the room is empty at the moment and dark, but by the look of things you ripped a hole through the closet ceiling with the hatch. What must have been painted or wallpapered or even physically covered up, together you busted through and now are jammed in the closet together spying into... someone's bedroom. Rightfully worried now, you'd very much like to leave but Jess points out the obvious."Can see big hole now! How hide?"Even if you did just escape the way you came, whenever the person next looks in their closet they'll see a big gaping break in the ceiling and then there goes your secret little crawl space. Jess is similarly at a loss as she tries to think of something, but she doesn't think you can just leave it and merely hope it's ignored.>What do you do?
>>3383206What if we find a carpet and put up there covering the hole? Its dark ebough inside that peiple might not notice.
>>3383246Spunds good, cover it up with a carpet, see if we can actually leave the room too and run off with Jess, our exploration concluded.Ask her if she knows of any other place to exploreDamn, I wish we could cross the gap to get some nice food
>>3383246It could work in a pinch, perhaps. If you want to rely on that and hope for the best, you can.>>3383266You mean leave by way of the normal door?
>>3383269If we can go back up the crawlspace that would be better. We still have that bag to check actually and maybe there are more stuff in the crawlspaceIs the hatch still operational? We could try to close it back and use the rug as cover too
>>3383269Maybe we can find a board or a panel up there to help desguise it better.Whatever we can find that would reasonably go in a roof that we can find or take from the crawlspace.Mark it down to so we don't step on it next time we come here
>>3383290>>3383278Well you can just try and fix the hatch door back on, there's no trouble closing the hole, it's more the fact that whatever paint or wallpaper had been covering the hatch before has now been ripped open so even with the door closed one can still see it clearly if they look. Assuming they look of course. In any case though if you like you can make a roll for the effort on how well you can make it look, and then get out of here. Otherwise you'll just leave it to fate and hope for the best. At least until you can find like a bucket of old paint to cover it or some white covering to stick over.
Rolled 73 (1d100)>>3383324
Rolled 61 (1d100)>>3383324
>>3383366>>3383381>73Together then you help each other to climb back up to the crawl space, and then close the hatch behind you. Jess thinks getting something like some white cloth and sticking it over would help, but she did at least have the good sense to pick up all the chipped and torn chunks of paint that had ripped free when you smashed open the hatch. It's by no means perfect, probably not even that great, but unless someone were to intentionally look up (and with the lights on most likely) they would probably not notice it.You hope.In any case you can crawl back again and emerge into your room once more, Daisy waiting anxiously at the opening beneath your bed. "Was fun!"Jess pulls you up out of the crawl space as the two of you crawl back out from under the bed, now with the old bag. You do notice your room's door is open so someone must have come in looking for you perhaps, but since there doesn't sound like any commotion going on you want to assume they merely didn't find you and left rather than having located where you'd snuck off to."Good clothes! You have all?"Jess is more occupied with the clothes obviously, as the two of you sit on your bed together and go through the bag, while Daisy keeps trying to stand up on her hind legs in hopes of being picked up onto the bed. You try to organize things while she looks over the pictures and likes what she sees. Things look nice and happy and clean in them so could they be from before the big war? Whatever the case, in the end you empty the bag and look over the total contents; three clean sets of clothes, the personal belongings of the pictures and some shiny trinkets, a long-expired few sealed food packages, a little red medical bag with some few things still usable, an old camera, and three books. One about some sort of squiggly colored lines called a "subway" map, one about working with ropes, one about preparing food and water safely, and besides these three the journal. You can read through a little which surprises Jess, as you learn about the owner."Susan... Feinberg.""Two people is?"Must be the case, two different names together so it must be two different people, Susan and Feinberg. Maybe they shared the book? In any case it's an interesting find and Jess is quite intrigued for sure. You think you prefer the hidden crawl space though, if nothing else (and hoping it isn't discovered) even if you end up imprisoned here, you have a secret way out! Either way, a fun little chance to explore with your friend even from within your own room of all places. And something to show for it no less.>What do you do?

Going to continue here in a bit now.
>>3384355>>3383701>>3383458The camera is interesting as Jess points out it could have more pictures inside it, it wouldn't be the first camera her tribe found. However its battery must have run out a long time ago and there doesn't seem to be any charger with it. It seems likely one could be found among all the available old electronics in this building, but it would take someone searching for it first. At least the camera itself is in good condition."...I am... going to try and... reach Jeff, he is... waiting on five-th. Maybe we can make it to the sub-way... tonight. I am... leaving this bag... hidden in case we need to come back. Mandy is... afraid we will not make it... before... another bomb. If we don't and this is my last... writing, I pray... everyone is... doing well. Amhit, Nat, Helen, Paul, Jah... mom and dad, everyone at home...""Them word that? Why even?"The camera might be unusable for the moment, but the journal has your interest still as you go to the last parts of writing. Slowly and carefully you read what's there but it's not easy, both because your reading skill isn't as good as the writing skill but also because the writing has gotten worse and worse for the last parts and the pages more and more dirty. It reads like a goodbye before someone tried to reach Downtown, but then this was probably before the world was like it is now. "Them scared, why is.""Them gone, us now!"Jess doesn't seem that perturbed by it all, as you understand, her tribe are scavengers so relying on the remains of the dead and things left behind is their way of life. Certainly explains a vague lack of personal ownership among her people. In any case though, she's happy with what was found though expects as if it's obviously to be shared between you, though you wouldn't mind that much. You're about the only person in this place with clean clothes in good condition, after all.Either way Jess is thankful to you for sharing this secret with her and she gives you a hug to show, even offers her share of dinner tonight. Unfortunately while she has some things in mind she would like to do (and probably was going to before you brought her here), she's not sure you can too, whether you'd be allowed. Certainly it seems you're not permitted to go to the lower floors anymore, so it kind of limits what she wanted to do. Of course she's happy just to spend time with you so wouldn't mind changing her schedule to suit things you can do, around the communal areas of these upper floors. The usual pastimes for her people, as you're becoming familiar with.>What do you do?
>>3384963That subway book could serve as a good map of downtown.Lets ask her for help to search a charger and give her one of the spare sets of clothes so she can change.

>>3385095>>3385022+1Maybe we can throw a tantrum with the elders and ask to go to the other building to give our friend a nice shower and some nice food since we are the only ones that can make the elevator and restaurant work.
>>3385022>>3385095>>3385131>>3385109For the charger searching, you can make a roll for the effort if you like, d100. Otherwise you can just make a request for it and you assume eventually one will be found. As for the clothes, none of them fit either of you, clearly for adults as you change in and out of them. Jess doesn't mind though because they're clean and aren't tattered so any such thing is better than her own clothes. In any case you're comfortable enough with Jess where you can change around one another and even can talk with her as you try and learn about any other possible secret places in the building. After thinking about it for a bit, she does recall what you recognize as maintenance areas, a few around the upper floors here. But most of them, at least the ones that go anywhere interesting, are locked off by the adults for the specific reason of preventing the kids from getting lost or hurt. It's why she and the other older girls rely on going to the lower levels in order to be out of the watch of any adults so that they can go exploring on their own.For what it's worth, she does know of some secret areas which are just rooms unto themselves, if you cared about such a thing like for privacy. The other girls, some of them treat them as secret stash places or sort of like club houses. Since these ways don't actually go anywhere the adults don't mind them if the kids clamor about and play in them, but unfortunately it's not what you were hoping for of having some secret escape from your room.
Rolled 75 (1d100)>>3385138Rolling for search.Let's find the Joan or another elder Maria or some other to pester to hear stories of the old world and to let us go to the other building to give Jess some nice food.

Ok back again, resuming shortly.
>>3385197>>3385180>>3385167>90Just searching piles and containers of old electronics and scrap isn't forbidden to you, so you and Jess can take the camera and start looking around for both something that will fit it and one which still actually works. Apart from some comments about your clothes together you don't face any difficulties and after about an hour your search turns up."Here is!" Jess exclaims triumphantly after checking the cable fits the phone and causes it to light up for charging. Unfortunately since the entire building isn't powered you'll have to leave it to charge in one of the communal areas, but there are many such similar old electronics also in the same state so Jess assures you there's no worry about it being stolen. After that, well you don't want to prevent her from doing what she wants because of your own limited permissions, so you part ways for now with a happy hug.---"The world before? Why do you want to know about that?"You had a reason to go to see the senior Joan anyway, as she keeps having to check on your leg, something that worries her greatly."You'm see? What like?""By the Green Queen no, I'm not that old! It was long before my time, before my mother's mother's time even, I think. I'm not sure anyone knows exactly when it was, sometime in the early half of the twenty-first century..." the question intrigues her, clearly something she's thought about before as much that she seems to get lost in thought for a bit, before she realizes who she's talking to again by your confused look, "What am I saying? It was a long time ago, many winters! The big war happened between countries... very big tribes, and that caused the world to be like... well, the way it is.""And all'm mans dead?""That's right, it killed all the men too. As much as I understand it at least. I don't think it was the bombs... big uh... big..." she struggles to try and explain in a way you could understand, opening her fist suddenly as a gesture, "...like a big boom, a bright light? I don't know if that's the only reason why the men died though, otherwise you think everyone, even the animals would have all died? But here we are."She finishes checking your leg from the injury where you fell on broken glass, and while it doesn't look bad to you and doesn't hurt, seems all better, it still seems to worry her which is a little cause of fear for you. Probably why she's insistent about you not leaving despite pestering her."I'm sorry Alexa but no, it's too dangerous! I know it's hard for you to understand but you're very important, not just to us but everyone, everything. Too important to put at risk by letting you leave the tower, when someone else can just do it. Besides, as I said your leg has taken a long time to heal and I don't know why... it's actually rather concerning. Until I know why, for that alone I can't agree to letting you out."
You can whine about it and pout, work up some tears and even get angry but Joan at least isn't so kind as to take your side on this, if only from her standpoint as a doctor worrying about your health and setting aside you being their only boy. Possibly the only boy. She tries to make you feel better, as caring as ever with a big hug and brushing your long hair out of your face as she tries to give you some kind words and offers to let you stay with her if you like.Really though it just seems like more bars around your prison, and it annoys you. Upsets you, and fairly so you think. You only recently left the confinement of a shelter you lived your whole life in, and now it seems like you're being put back in another.>What do you do?
>>3385590Ugh, let's find Kim if she is around, see what she is doing.

>>3385590>>3385628This.When she is back we can check the camera
>>3385678>>3385628>>3385623You can spend the rest of the afternoon then playing with the kids, the younger ones at least. As you know the older girls tend to play less in favor of growing responsibilities or hanging out together and like your friend Olivia for example, working on their own developing role in the community or their own schemes. For the time being though, as frustrated as you are you could do with some plain old fun as a distraction. Games played, listening to stories told, and perhaps best of all time spent among those who haven't started regarding you differently after the truth about you becoming known. The other kids at your age or younger may know you're a boy, but they don't know what that means so they don't care or judge. There's the occasional adult in and out to check on the lot of you, but it's a great time spent till dinner when many among the community gather and you meet up with Jess again that she intends to make good on her word and share her portions with you. The meal itself intermittently interrupted by others coming back to the tower after a day spent out, but you notice Kim around eventually and while you could never bear her any ill-feelings, it was a little upsetting that she sided with the other adults in the importance of keeping you safe and secure in the tower. Upsetting but it makes sense you suppose; her finding you earned her a position among the group of leading adults who make decisions for the tribe, so it would have been hard for her in her new position to go against the majority decision. Whatever the case for it though, you wouldn't mind seeking her out to spend the evening with but then again you could just go back to hanging with Jess as you had been before. See how the camera is perhaps, and who knows what else.>What do you do?

>>3385785>>3385780>>3385770In your frustration, you've half a mind to just go up and demand the obvious to Kim. If all the care and concern is over you being a boy, looking back now you'd probably not have revealed that truth, and you're starting to understand why mother had so many rules to keep that truth about you hidden. If they want to imprison you for being the only boy, why not make more then and remove the problem? Though, you don't know what any of that would actually entail, but it can't be worse than being kept prisoner now that you've had a taste of freedom. You can recognize your frustration before you resort to anything drastic, so perhaps for the best not to go to Kim right now feeling as you are. But something to consider, to think about in order to form a proper opinion and response on the matter for next time, when you feel ready. For now, a slight preference, and a strong curiosity to go with Jess and check on the camera.---"Just only the city!"After dinner you went with Jess then to get the camera together, and following her, at your request she takes you to one of the secret places. This one particular, an out of the way duct that leads to an old maintenance room, the proper door to which suffered an exterior collapse of the building so is otherwise inaccessible besides said duct. Two other girls, Anna and Mira consider this to be "their" room and would have rejected Jess on her own but they allow it when they notice you, curious like many of the girls. Just as you've experienced with most of the other curious people though, without getting down to the hard differences between you and them, the two girls end up being disappointed when just simply checking you out you don't seem at all different to them. If there's something special or different about being a man, it's lost on them."Mmm... look see, is different but.""What is? Fore big war?""Big pretty!"Anna and Mira would be fine to mind their own business but when you and Jess start looking over the pictures in a corner together, the curiosity draws the other two. Scooching over, it ends up with four heads together glued to the screen of the small camera as you go through the pictures of what can only be assumed to be the world before. Some of people looking happy, and clean and well-fed, healthy. Some of places that the others notice as the city, but much more visible without the clouds and much more lit up, not some crumbling ruins. The most recent ones are some cause for confusion though as the pictures start being more of the city in trouble and of groups of gathered and unhappy (by the looks) people in places outside. The last few pictures you can look at show some people bloody and hurt... or even dead, and it scares the lot of you to not want to look at any more. Just one lingering last picture of the city at what appears to be night, but far away it looks like a cloudy sun shining.
"No like that. Bad things.""Them all hurt... kill other.""Is big war maybe?"Both scary at seeing such things, but it also feels wrong to look at them. Perhaps the owner was only taking the pictures to document bad things that happened, but it's not something any of you want to see, like that. Along with the journal you found, it sure paints a pretty grim picture, that you wouldn't mind getting your mind off of in the time remaining before you're supposed to go to bed.Though, in here it's not like anyone can catch you going against the rules. Ironically despite being a smaller room than your own or even any of your shelter, just a maintenance closet if you knew any better, it still feels more free than either your room here or the shelter.>What do you do?
>>3385940ask the girl what they do in these secret rooms, maybe join them, especially if it happens to be against the rules, we are feeling rebellious.
>>3385952This, conspire with Jess about how we would like to explore around too.
>>3385952>>3385967Well in this particular case, Anna and Mira sort of inherited their goal from the two older girls who grew out of such childish things some winters ago, the goal being to signal people in other buildings above the clouds. As this side of the building collapsed, the actual door of this little room opens to the exposed building exterior, and they even show you (after fastening down anything loose) by opening the door as you can see it's a sheer drop out the side and down to the clouds below. They have an old, very bright construction lamp in this room and so sometimes on clear nights they open the door and try to shine out in patterns to see if anyone in the other visible skyscrapers tall enough respond back with similar light patterns. At least that's their goal. Most of the time really they just treat this as their own little secret clubhouse between friends and hang out here talking and sharing things, which Jess affirms there are many other such places around the upper habitable floors that the tribe dwells in, that other girls similarly have to themselves. But Anna and Mira maintain that they once got a flashing response from as far away as the Empress's tower, so their efforts aren't completely pointless."Can to go explore out, like fore?""Is trouble, mhmm? Growups catch you, get mad... maybe not sneaky?"All this talk of secret places just makes you yearn for a kind of place like that your own, or the chance to go find one. Unfortunately Jess reminds you, and it seems the girls have been told, that you're not allowed off the upper floors when all the exploring is to be done lower. As far as she knows, these little secret rooms and passages here and there are all based on the same floors, the one in your room is the only one she knows of which goes between two different floors. So the only way off these upper floors would be the stairwells but she's sure an adult would catch you, unless you made use of stealth. Clearly she doesn't want to get into trouble, but you're close friends enough that she at least considers the idea has some interest. At least assuming if you wanted to actually go exploring new places. If it's just going about these hidden rooms on the same floors you're confined to, she doesn't expect it would be that difficult, whether the adults want you to or not.>What do you do?
>>3385983Let's explore these other secret rooms with her now at night, maybe we find some good things or interesting things to do.
>>3386006The other ones up here you mean? Well you're not going to find anything other people haven't over generations of living here. But things to do, is certainly possible, especially if there's other troublemakers up and about.
>>3386011>>3386006Let's find the troublemakers!
>>3386011Let's try to find them and things to do, maybe spy and ambush some other kids to train our stealth, we don't know very much what we can do for fun here and they didn't like mother's games
>>3386015>>3386036Alright that could work, make a roll to see who or what you find!
Rolled 57 (1d100)>>3386049
Rolled 97 (1d100)>>3386049
>>3386069Welp, we are either a ninja or we just stumbled into two people doing some very troublemaking and fun thing I wonder what~
>>3386069>>3386055>97Thanking Anna and Mira for the space then, you return to the communal areas and spend the rest of the evening plainly enough with Jess, though sneakily together formed a plan to go off exploring together after bedtime. So when it's supposed to be and the other kids are being sent to bed, one of the adults comes and collects you to take you back to your room for the night up where more of them are to keep an eye on you if need be.Not that they can watch you while asleep, busy, or simply elsewhere though, and no match for sneaky Jess! You made sure to walk and feed Daisy before leaving her alone in your room, so that when you hear the secret knock at your door, you and your friend can sneak off together.---"No kid. Tell Olivia fore, too little.""Please please! We want fun too!"You're surprised at your own sneakiness and together make a great pair with Jess as she knows her way around and you can keep lookout and listen for anyone. Unfortunately the stairwells are too difficult to be able to sneak up or down, but by carefully going through a few exposed rooms and a hallway on the collapsed side of the building, you're able to reach a corner of this floor that's more or less separate from the communal areas but still habitable. Seems like Jess really saved the best for you, as you go together through weathered and crumbling rooms exposed to the elements and outside, the stars visible as the faint lights of the occasional other buildings above the clouds. You reach a bit of a dead end though when you follow the sounds of some music and laughter together, and find some sort of small party going on. It's the oldest girls, not kids anymore but not yet adults with proper roles in the tribe. Jess tries to get you in but gets shot down pretty soundly, though when the girl at the door notices you, she pauses for a moment."That'm the mans? Alessa?""Yes'm, Alexa.""Heya, hold some."She doesn't shut the door but leans back to call to unseen others and talks about you, which there's some audible interest, and finally you're let in. The place is quite messy and not only because it's as far removed from the rest of the living areas, you can only assume it's a regular hangout for the older girls. It looks kind of... fun though? They've got an old TV hooked up to play some old show, a pieced-together music player that they keep switching to check on a radio, a fair few colorful lights plugged in around the place, and plenty of comfy seats between the scattered bits and pieces of old world junk they must have liked or had some use for. Also a couple tables with some various games they're halfheartedly playing between conversations, like some handmade playing cards at one. Some of them are behaving funny, clumsy and drinking colored stuff you can see, and you get embarrassed to see two girls on a couch by a back window kissing and touching.
Not that you get much a chance to focus on anything, as you become the focus yourself of some girls sitting nearest to the door."Alexa! I sees you round fore!""So's a mans? Don't look not a girl, what is?"Of course Jess is thrilled to be permitted into this place, but she's not the one they're interested in. In fact you're probably the only reason for being here, their curiosity. You don't want to ruin this for Jess, but needless to say you are very nervous, shy towards these older girls and themselves mostly strangers. You've seen them around the building and in passing, but much the same as you don't know all of the adults. Maybe trying to be brave could help, but how open or honest do you want to be here?>What do you do?
>>3386131Stay close to Jess, maybe grab her hand.Try to be nonchalant about it and say"My under parts are different, they say I can make new people but still don't know how"See if we can grab some of the colored drinks for us and Jess.
>>3386131They seem a bit mean. Explain the basics, but don't show anything. Stay close to jess and the exit
>>3386131Those people kissing.....they seem to be having fun.Focus, there was a question.Tell her how we are different but that the elders don't seem to know what to do with it, maybe that will generate some sympathy since they are troublemakers too.Try to get ourselves and Jess integrated in this so they don't kick us out or even let us come back another time.Maybe play their game, are they betting something? I'm not sure we have much to bet, if offered drink but try to not drink too much.
So do we just give up on ever finding our mom? Because that seems to be what people are voting for. Just randomly playing with other kids and strangers.
>>3386400Hmm, we actually could try that, but I was under the impression she was really gone.
>>3386413>>3386400This could be actually a good argument to bring to the elders, if they want our cooperation we want our mom, maybe they can send someone to the Red Cross to look for her( not Kim tho, too dangerous)
>>3386400agreed, tomorrow we can start taking steps to see if she is still around, maybe leave a message at our old shelter setting up a meeting point>>3386282>>3386312+1
>>3386400I sort of got the feeling that we were probing around with our sneaking, maybe to find something useful for an eventual escape or otherwise that would help us convince the elders to let us leave.
>>3386701We were sneaking around into other peoples hiding/hangout spots and playing butt touch. Places the elders already know about but don’t care about because they don’t lead anywhere dangerous.
>>3386808Well, to be honest we never went looking for her, we were looking for food and safety so we could wait for her.But you still have a point, now that we have food and shelter we could try to take steps to let mother know where to find us when she comes back, or even get help to find her since there are many adults around and not just a lone kid like we used to be.
>>3386282>>3386298>>3386312>>3386488These girls seem different from the ones your age, they're all their own friends and like their own things... and you're not sure how nice they are. At least adults usually tolerate your presence. "Has'm other under parts... um, make extra lifes?""Ye, sticky milk. Can see?""A-ha, go on show!"Some of the older girls gathered around have an interest in finding out exactly what's the deal with you, if only because it's something new and interesting to them. You get some nudges from them and a lot of suggestion, pressure from them to prove anything your'e saying. Already you were nervous just coming here but now it's quite stressful for you as uncomfortable as it is, and compared with the will to give what they want and possibly gain their approval. Fortunately Jess is there with you, as you clench her hand tightly out of worry, and she notices to stand in the way between you and them."Stop bother! You no care other body secrets!"Unfortunately they don't take her that seriously and she gets some hostile remarks and pushed around for it, till a couple of the older girls call for a stop to it, maybe feeling bad for you. Escorted away from the girls being mean to you, a place is found near one of the games for you and Jess to sit beside and watch if you care to."No'm sad, them all want some new fun. Just is."Thankfully these few older girls are nicer and while they aren't especially friendly, they at least are ok with you sitting by them and minding you. Even wanting to hear about your time before coming here since you're a newcomer, and showing you the game they're playing."Mm, want?""Na, too young.""Just only a little, look'm."You even get offered what's left of a drink to finish, after a short argument between two of the older girls about it. Jess takes gladly, herself ecstatic just to be here so more than happy to try and be cool (as far as she's concerned) and have a drink and fit in. You look it over though after she takes several swigs, and you're not so sure. It smells nice, but seeing how the others behave after drinking too much... maybe only a sip?>What do you do?
>>3387275No. That's a weird drink and I don't like weird things.
>>3387275Drink it Lets fit in
>>3387275Let's drink it, maybe just to take the cup from Jess's hands, I'm worried she will have too much
>>3387304This, share it with Jess. Drinking will at least signal to them that we're willing to fit in.
>>3387275drink a little sip
>>3387309sharing seems good
>>3387342>>3387341>>3387309>>3387304>>3387299>>3387284You have your reservations about it, but to try and fit in and for Jess's sake, you share in the drinking."Blaugh! Blegh!""No lose it!"It tastes utterly foul, and one of the older girls gets angry at you for spitting it out, giving to a smack to the back of the head. Naturally you flinch and force it back in Jess's hands if she likes it, but everything about that was unpleasant and it colors the rest of the time spent here. You just sit quietly and avoid any interaction, merely taking further sips when Jess occasionally hands the drink back, some vain hope of making up for the scene you caused."Alexa? Ok?"It doesn't help much anyway, as you try and just sit there without causing further trouble and continue to watch, but after awhile you start feeling sick. Your stomach in pain, difficulty breathing with a sticky burning sensation in your nose and throat, and an intense nausea. You do your best to not let it show since no one else seems bothered by the drinks, but as the sensations worsen eventually Jess begins to notice you practically doubled over and fighting for breath."Red face, upset? Sorry hit kid, just only have some little drinks... no can spill easy."The older girl who smacked you also notices, your eyes watering and turning red, which she thinks you to be upset for her treatment of you. She apologizes, force of habit since the drinks must be hard to come by but she obviously doesn't realize the real problem... yet.But you can't make a further scene, right? Jess only got her chance to be here because of you, you wouldn't want to ruin it for her by coming down ill.>What do you do?
>>3387382Stop drinking it, ask for water if they have.try to sit down and call down, maybe a little further away if we end up being sick and vomiting so we don't do it in front of everyone.damn, how can they drink it so easely but we don't? we are really different
>>3387382>stomach in pain, difficulty breathing with a sticky burning sensation in your nose and throat, and an intense nauseathat is no bueno>>3387393support
Shit I don't know, ask to go to the bathroom so we can vomit this? We probably alredy done it when we ate something bad in the past
>>3387382Let's excuse ourselves.
>>3387393>>3387418>>3387434>>3387439Somehow or other everyone else can drink it just fine, apart from ending up all funny and clumsy acting, but for you it might be the worst you've ever felt. With some quick but worried thinking you decide not to cause a scene but still take some time aside. "Can has water?""Hmm? No like? Other room."Taking it as wanting something else to drink alongside it, you are able to get up and stumble through the place, some of the older girls taking you as being drunk when really you're feeling ill. But sure enough in another room is an old sink, you have to go through a bedroom where a couple girls are there snuggling and appreciating the view out the window, though once in the bathroom you have a chance to yourself. The sink sputters and eventually groans to put out some discolored water but it can't be worse than the colored drinks they're having. While you let it run you have a chance to look at yourself partly in a broken mirror by the dim light coming from the bedroom, and even then you get pretty scared by your worsening appearance and blurry vision. Gulping some of the water down is what really does it, as your stomach turns and you double over the sink to puke several times, glad the water somewhat works. A nasty mix of dinner mush colored blue."Hiya kid, you is ok?"From the sound of things one of the older girls got up out of bed to check on you, herself in a state of undress but that's hardly on your mind right now as your gut strains and you try to maintain some clarity. Her hands on your shoulders as she sidles up to you is a help, and goes as far to rub your back and try to help you wash your mouth out more and clean your face."Look bad, some sick? Come sit?"The chance to be off your feet is appreciated, even if you're not sure yet the puking spell is over. She leaves the sink to run and clean it out, as she leads you by the shoulder back to the bed, where the other girl notices you now."What is? That'm the mans?""Puke sick, lay down some."How nice these older girls in general are is up for debate but they at least have sympathy as the one makes some room for you in the bed, and the other helps you lay down and takes her place beside to continue rubbing your back. The other strokes your hair and tries to ask if you ate anything bad? That's their assumption, not the drinks. You still feel awful though, but a lay down for awhile could help. You suppose you could ask them yourself, try to talk about it, but after that puking spell you're feeling out of sorts to say the least. A rest would be nice but Jess is still in the other room with the other girls.>What do you do?
>>3387511Let them know that it might be a reaction to the drinks. Rest for a little, then try to make it back to Jess. It seems like the worst is past anyhow
>>3387511well, the worse if past, stay a little while with them to make sure we are not puking anymore and then go back to Jess, don't drink when we are back there
>>3387552>>3387533Let's see if they know how to get better from this, don't be too long tho, if we feel better let's get back, maybe we are still a little wobbly
>>3387560>>3387552>>3387533You can ask them for what they think and what would be best, however they can't imagine why it would be the drinks or if it was, how to cope with it since they're not aware of anyone ever really getting sick like that from just the drinks. Not that they think you're a liar or anything, it's just outside of their experience to the extent where you wonder if it really was the drinks yourself. As opposed to maybe just some first time nerves, or even something bad at dinner? Still, you don't want to try drinking again as you lay there gradually feeling a little better as the girls try their best to help.---You're awoken sometime later when one of them gets up to go to the bathroom, and you realized you must have dozed off. The remaining girl is asleep herself with her arms around you, but doesn't mind as you try to get up, just checking you're feeling better before you go."Eh-heeey Alessa! Lookaz!"It must be some time later because you notice there's less of the older girls around or at least still up, but there's Jess just as clumsy and acting funny as the rest of them and sitting as an equal at the table playing cards. She's obviously had more to drink than they'd first allowed, but she's having fun playing with the makeshift cards and seems to have won some new shoes as well. While there's less of the older girls around though, those that remain are rowdier and you get forcefully pulled onto one girl's lap to be told a story about her first outing from the building and how it went wrong (explaining her loss of some fingers), while another unsteadily wants to braid your hair for being longer than hers. Things were already uncomfortable enough being the center of attention but now acting in such an obtuse way. Not that you want to ruin Jess's fun though but even setting aside your own displeasure of this, it must be pretty late. That is, assuming you'd planned on heading back still tonight. Not like you couldn't find a place to spend here...>What do you do?
>>3387614Humor them. It's not like the games gonna last forever. After they finish, try to get Jess to come back with us. It's getting late, and we need to get back to our room lest the grown ups find it empty.
>>3387614Let's take Jess with us, explain that we should be heading back to our room we can play more there but we should not be out if the adults try and find us
>>3387614Let's ask Jess to get back, we already stayed enough, if she doesn't want to go wait a little and tgen bring her with us.
>>3387627tell her we felt sick a little that's why we disappeared for a while, maybe that can convince her to come if she doesn't want to come right away
>>3387631Yeah, I think it's starting to get a little wild for our tastes.
>>3387651>>3387633>>3387631>>3387627>>3387622This is far beyond your comfort limit, so as much fun as Jess is having, you feel compelled to call it for the night. She might be upset but you did get her in here in the first place, after all. Fortunately, although she's reluctant at first and it takes her awhile to come around, when she knows that you're serious about leaving she eventually accepts for your sake. Of course the older girls try to convince you to stay and you feel the pressure of wanting to, wanting to be cool in their eyes, but it can't be better than getting caught outside your room.So supporting Jess as she staggers along, the two of you bid goodnight to the older girls, and you thank them for the party and drinks before you take your leave. "-muhrrr best, best friend! Alessa I love youuu sooo mush!"Back through the collapsed side of the building, trying your best to sneak her to where the younger girls sleep, and then back to your own room. While you do get caught along the way with her for being too loud, you make an excuse about Jess being sick herself so the adult takes her off your hands and sends you to your own room without much trouble. You still don't feel well after those nasty colored drinks, but at least you have your own room and your own privacy again. Daisy is glad to see you, anxious about being left alone but after a quick walk to an unoccupied room so she can do her business, you're ready to retire for the night. Much later than usual though, for sure...---"Muhhh... what is?"Some time in the night, or early morning rather, you're awakened again by Daisy growling and starting to bark before you can grab her close to keep quiet. An adult having opened the door caught the dog's attention, but it isn't just to check if you're in bed, she actually enters the room and strains to see you by the light from the hall."This only you room, girl? In other mountain for food? Heya, come with.""Huh? Um... ye, I is. Where for?"She looks around the room but ends up focusing on you and nudges at your feet, urging you to get up with her. "Can with, show good place. You want? Bring all you need."If you can pack your belongings or at least the essentials, it seems she wants to take you exploring somewhere. Maybe one of the adults who heard you complaining about being confined? If she does want to sneak you someplace secret then it would make sense to do so at night, same as the idea you and Jess had. You certainly hadn't expected one of the adults to sympathize as much with you though.>What do you do?
>>3387779Give it a go, maybe she can show us some cool stuff, maybe even show us a secret way out in case we want to do more exploring.
>>3387779Who is this? Do we know her?I don't want to go with a stranger, if its Kim, Maria, Joan or even Kessa we might go but otherwise it's better not, we had enough adventure for one night.
>>3387811It's not someone you know, maybe someone from one of the lower floors like Grace or Chaya. While there's not so many of their number in total, for the tribe, you still don't know everyone by name let alone well.
>>3387832Make an excuse, we are felling sick, maybe she can show us after we wake up later?
>>3387779I'm not feeling it, I'm a little nervous about this bight visit actually, ask her where specifically are we going? How does she want to sneak out.I don't want to go.
>>3387867>>3387855>>3387802You could go with her, getting to go out is what you've wanted. But sprung on you so suddenly like this, even half-awake thinking, you'd rather not. "Mmm... no want. Feel uh... feel too sick.""Aw no trouble, can carry you want?"She seems pretty eager to sneak you out but at your continued refusal, she accepts your choice and pats your knee. If you prefer she'll try and come back the next night then, but it sounds like her way out is to escort you down the stairwell and then go to the lower floors. Of course you're already familiar with such a way down, you went there with Olivia and Jess many days ago, but the adults have forbidden you from that. Maybe this one is just willing to allow you past, perhaps with her supervision or something like that.Otherwise then as you're not interested, she's going to let you back to sleep and take her leave. Though you are awake so can do as you please, but you'd probably prefer a full-night's rest.
>>3387896Let's try to find her in the lower floors in the morning
>>3387896Though you are awake so can do as you please, but you'd probably prefer a full-night's rest.Sleep. We're still a growing boy, whatever that is.
>>3387896Lets sleep, we have some questions to ask in the morning, for exemple, that one we wanted to ask Kim before
>>3387925>>3387917>>3387913Sleepy time, and if you can't find her again later on, there's always the next night. At least some sleep then, though you're awoken eventually by the creeping burning of your throat and stomach, to the point when you wake up and it's agonizing. Maybe you puked up most of the colored drink but the effect it had on you for what time it was in your system, may still have aftereffects. So after hurriedly walking Daisy around for the morning, you rush for the bathrooms to get some water from one of the sinks, and actually drink quite a bit before you start feeling a little better. Still too ill you think for breakfast though, even though you're hungry you may just puke it up again. But, since you're not going to be eating, you can seek Kim out! So if you had some particulars you wanted to ask her, considering what you'd wanted to before, you can now. And if it's an effort to try and get something out of her, you can make a roll for the attempt.

She clearly hadn't expected you to come to her though in the upper level where she was, and actually appears avoidant of you until you persist. It seems she has a hard time facing you when she's just as much a part of your increasing imprisonment, same as any of the other adults despite that she found and brought you here to begin with. Eventually though after looking around, she takes you aside if only to quieten you down."Want go out, Kim! Stay here, no new lives. Why? If no, want go out.""I... we no know, Joan say mans has sticky milk but no know. Maybe for older, you no has chest yet for milk. Why no can out, have older fore."She has a clear difficulty answering your questions mainly because she doesn't understand it herself. She's not the doctor here so she can only go off what stories have told her and what she's heard Joan mention to the other adults. Whatever the whole reason is, you're probably only getting part of it from her because that's all she knows. The gist of it seems to be though, they know you can create more lives supposedly, but they don't seem to actually know how you would do that. Which admittedly is fair, you don't know either. All you've heard talk of is sticky milk like what the Red Cross place seems to have, that makes more lives, but Kim and the others seem to be guessing that you're too young for it. Like you'd heard from the other girls your age, your body hasn't begun to change like other people yet where you grow taller and among other things your chest grows. At least that much, you already knew from mother who explained that's important for babies. If you haven't undergone that yet then you really must be too young for it, hence their technical imprisonment of you assumedly till then."Want go out, for mother to know. If'm she back, not know where I's go. If never find?!" you get teary-eyed at this part, and it's no act either, both upset and frustration but mostly fear of not seeing mother again, "And if other go Red Cross, want go, find mother. Kim no help, other say'm she help."She hears your request and finds it hard to raise any objection to it, even though she is supposed to as expected of her by the other adults. Something about the last part you say though, her expression goes from one of sympathy, to concern."Who'm other, say help?""Um..."
Maybe you spoke to soon on that. You didn't get her name you realize, but if you told, what would happen? Maybe she'd be caught and refused to offer her help? If it's about your mother though, eventually Kim comes around and says she'll try to get you out. If only, so that you can leave some sign or message, back at your shelter if need be so that your mother will know where you are and could come find you again. If it is to happen though, she doesn't expect it will be today, another day or two at the very least for her to try and convince others and possibly get some effort to go about escorting you for this. It's the least her tribe can do for you, if indeed they have belonging of you now and you could prove to be as much a savior as Joan thinks.>What do you do?

>>3388115>>3388113>58Spurred on by your sneakiness last night, you attempt to navigate your way down through one of the stairwells in order to reach the lower levels, while most everyone is at breakfast. Unfortunately you end up getting caught, the stairwells are simply too trafficked to avoid being noticed, however whom you are caught by is one of the adults who dwells down on those lower floors so she doesn't really care that much about you coming down there. Just that you're lucky enough to have been caught by her and not someone who would care."Alexa? You is ok to be here?""Heya, Daisy is?"A similar reaction when you go looking around these more spare lower floors (though still towards the top of the building, above the clouds) and end up finding most of the adults down here clustered around a barrel fire and open windows, having their own breakfast. The robot as well who lives here, though not eating obviously, but Grace wonders if you're allowed down here while Chaya greets you and is interested in knowing how your dog is doing as it's been awhile since she's minded Daisy. No sign of that adult from last night down here though, but you had only assumed she was one of these lower floor dwellers, could just as easily have been someone from upstairs too. At least you're down here now though, with the freedom to move around the mostly uninhabited floors here if not leaving the skyscraper itself.>What do you do?

>>3388180You can describe the woman from last night to Grace and Chaya, and the few other women gathered, but they don't know who she is for sure, apart from throwing out some names of other women in the tribe it could be by appearance details you give. >>3388188>>3388199You've seen the robot before but never really interacted with it, though there's the chance to when the gathered women finish their own breakfast down here and proceed to set about their work or roles in the tribe."Heya robot! I's Alexa, you is?""Alexa, logged. My human given name is Hardbody, among your people."Very clearly a machine being, although humanoid in form, of segmented parts. Unlike the robots you first encountered in the restaurant in the other building across the gap, this one seems to have something of a "mind" or personality. That is, it's not stuck performing some same task and nothing else, it acts as it seems to "want" to."What you can to?""I can try to do whatever you may need me to, as I have ever since your people reactivated me.""Can to say mother where is?" you ask with a hopeful gasp, taking the robot at its word believing that it can do anything you want it to."I have never met your mother but if I find her I will let you know. If she has gone to the hospital then she is to be well taken care of."Well that's a bit of a letdown but at least you know you can interact with the robot normally and possibly even rely on it? You wonder about asking it to go find your mother, if it didn't mean sending a robot away from the tribe who it belongs to. As it stands though, it doesn't seem any of the adults down here have any need of the robot for today so if you had any wishes to interact further with it you could. Otherwise, well you're down here so you don't have to worry so much about anyone watching over your shoulder or controlling where you go.>What do you do?
>>3388228Also this will probably be my last post of the night then, we'll continue here tomorrow around a similar time.Till then, thanks all for playing! And in the meantime if you have any questions or things that don't seem clear, feel free to ask and I'll answer if I can.
Thanks for running!> Can you please Teach me more words? Teach me how fix robot like you?

>>3388268Also this sounds good. I get the general degradation of language, and possibly intelligence over time due to the lack of available males, instead of relying on the Red Cross possibly synthetic/artificial sperm. But it doesn’t explain how the doctor is fully literate and capable of speaking normally while everyone else is just a few steps up from grug speech.
>>3388231Thanks for runningLearning more of the language sounds good to me too, we had quite some trouble reading the journal and it might help if we ever get out exploring. Would make me a tiny bit sad at the same time tough, as our degraded english is quite cute desu
>>3388228The robot can probably get the good food for us! He can interface with the restaurant in our name and bring the food, let's ask Kim to transfer some of the money to it and send it to get the food
>>3388334Why? We have enough to eat, why keep using money on food when there’s a possibility of using our money for a laser rifle? Or Gatling laser? Or even just more robots?
>>3388349Because the food here is crap, hence the crap health of everyone, and we have a shitload of it, and mostly to see if it can interface with the building like we can and get things for us there, and we don'ylt know where to get those other things you mentioned, maybe we can ask if they know of another tribe that accepts weapons but up until now the only places that take money are the restaurant and the hospital
>>3388228Bring the robot back to our room, look up Jass, maybe at her room, and tell her about last night's visit and about what we talked with Kim

Get a Robot up there to look after it all.... kind of reminiscent of that Laputa Robot.....
>>3388268the words could be fun, we would probably need a lot of time for it tho, maybe a time skip after we go on our expedition with Kim to tell mom where we are?>>3388359agree with testing to see if the robot can get us the good food>>3388395this too, Let's tell Jess about what happened at night and what we discussed with Kim, so someone else knows in case something happens>>3388501robbots would be could if we could get more, or even a drone like Kim's for scouting.
>>3388359It’s not so much food as it is clean, reliable, running water that’s the problem for them. They can easily get adequate nutrition, and do so. Having regular access to potable drinking water is a different story. As is water for bathing, washing clothes, and detergent or soap to wash with. Just because their food is bland doesn’t mean it isn’t nutritious. All I mean is that it seems wasteful to spend so much on food, which these people will expect us to share, instead of on something that would have lasting benefit. Like clean water, more living space, or even just a laser rifle for ourselves. Nowhere in this thread or the previous thread did the QM mention their food being complete crap. It’s just not as good as the expensive, exclusive, restaurant that literally has death robots that kill people who can’t pay.
>>3388359Plus you just seem to constantly vote for doing retarded shit like buying everyone food and playing fucking doctor with little girls exposing that we are the last known male around. Leading us into this stupid situation where we have no freedom to do anything or go anywhere period.
>>3388359I mean literally every single vote you had was hey let’s go buy this girl food. That’s why this quest endlessly drags on where we can’t do shit because all we ever do is vote to go spend money on Michelin rated restaurant food for a bunch of grubby scavengers
>>3388359I’m just a lurker but I gotta agree with >>3388693 you just constantly vote on time wastes that do nothing to progress the story or our character. >>3388693>>3388684>>3388678Ok dude, I get it, it seems you don't lime the way I was voting and to be honest I was not sure about what a 12 year old should be doing besides tryong to explore and play around. How about this, let's discuss future plans while the quest doesn't run and we xan have some goals, goals should give us a general sense to what loom out for.I guess our immediate concerns are getting word out to mother and maybe searching for her in the Red Cross, besides that what, a robot? Another gun to replace our pistol and maybe some learning while we are here? About how to fix robots and eletronics.Tell me what are your goals.
>>3388840Not being a useless nigger is enough for me. Doing something besides buying food from a robo restaurant, learning something useful. Can’t really explore since we’re basically locked up in this place now, which is a shame because exploration is probably the most interesting thing we could do. But not being a retarded nigger is enough for now.
>>3389173you should really move your salt somewhere else. if you don't like the way someone is voting, then propose a different thing to do and let all the rest of the players decide.
Going to be resuming in a bit now.
>>3388359>>3388678You can see for yourself, the food is very poor quality and only small amounts, which is why it's shared communally. In fact since you've been living here among them you've noticed you're starting to lose weight. That said, despite their poor diets and health, it's not like they're starving to death when you think they should be for as little they get to eat. You're always hungry now after leaving your shelter, while they seem just fine to get along as they are.>>3388268>>3388275>>3388334>>3388395Your only prior experience with robots, are the creepy and dangerous ones in the other building working the restaurant. So to encounter one that's kind of like a person, is actually pretty exciting. The other people seem to treat Hardbody as just another person of the tribe but for you there's some getting used to required, for sure."You'm talk good words, can learn?""The rest of your people do not care about grammar. While I am not an educational model, I can assist with relevant resources."You've never had much a problem with the way you or anyone else talks, but speaking with Joan and now the robot, they're so well spoken that you wonder if it wouldn't to learn a little better at least. Though of course you recognize it won't be easy and take time. For this purpose though and merely asking, the robot will follow you upstairs again though it's impossible to not get caught with it in tow, which you get yelled and and dragged back to your room and locked inside as a timeout punishment. At least you still have Daisy, and now a robot."How old are you?""No sure.""But you are a child, and they gave you a room to yourself?""Oh um... impor-tant? Am mans."Perceptive enough to notice things like that, the robot looks around your room and reaches some conclusions. Though it doesn't seem surprised or perturbed about your gender or anything, merely logs it. You wonder if it's ever met any other men before, but much more pressing is that other thing you wondered. At least for the time being while you're locked in here, before you seek out Jess to talk to about last night."How can to robot? Big good like Hardbody?""Being a robot is not a choice, I was made this way." you'd asked wide eyed and excited, though the robot rests a firm hand on your shoulder, "However if you believe in yourself, you can be anything you want. I believe in you, Alexa."What a pick up that is after being scolded for sneaking around. You might have some time in here as punishment but it's not so bad with a robot to talk to, and of course in the process learn the language better.>What do you do? Also feel free to make a roll for language-learning.

Rolled 82 (1d100)>>3389976Ask the robot what a man is. Everyone says that’s what we are and why we have our own room and different rules. But nobody says what makes a man different and why.
>>3390150>inb4 "a miserable little pile of secrets"
>>3390033>>3389992>>3389984>>3390150>82"Grug grug, unga bunga?"What a valuable education you are receiving!"Yes, that is the stereotype of what ancient humans sounded like.""Big weird!"You have about an hour or two stuck in your room so a chance to get a decent impression of the robot is possible. Your main concern is your language skills and reading for which you have the few books from the secret stash under the bed. It's not as though you learn to speak properly in as short an interaction but it's a start, as you become aware of better word placement in sentences which is one major problem people seem to have these days. The problem is that Hardbody is something called a "police" robot so it wasn't created to teach children proper language skills, really you have to learn from it by talking to and listening to how it talks, and assuming that to be correct you would imitate it. It does have some given resources though, like something called a "dictionary" in its head or wherever it keeps its knowledge. As helpful a language resource as that might be, you still end up getting kind of bored of all that after awhile so try to see what else you can learn."Why mans is special?""All people are special, men and women, and both are equal."You're only a kid, talking to a robot from the old world after who knows how many years, but even still you can't help become frustrated. On certain topics the robot answers in roundabout ways that don't help and you can't understand why, like insisting that men and women are equal in the eyes of the law and that there's no practical difference between them, none are more special than the other. Not really what you were looking for when trying to understand why you're different and why that's so important. You do at least get a technically better answer when among other similar topics then, you go down a line of questioning as to how new people are made. With the medical knowledge the robot seems to possess, eventually the answers all seem to revolve around something called "intercourse" and different ways of saying that same thing, but all the words used and ways of explaining them are too complicated for you to understand. Both from a limited language basis and also for your age and lack of understanding. It's like if you asked Joan to explain it to you, still very clinical only the robot doesn't attempt to talk more simply so that you can understand. The general gist of all you can glean of the questions and answers, is that men and women have different bodies and they do something with them together which makes a new person. Though if you believe it, it has something to do with the specific body difference between the two, so it can't be with the chests like Kim and others believed since as you know men and women both grow chests as they grow up. What difference could it be then...
For the remainder of the time, you're curious as to how the robot works, and on this it's somewhat more helpful. By going through a diagnostic process which appears a lot like a person checking themself for injuries, the robot demonstrates different parts of itself and at your questioning how those parts are connected and what they do. Again, there's a lot of what you don't understand, a lot of technical language but at least you can see it pointed out and explained. You understand that like people, robots have their own blood which is the same "eelec-trisity" which you already know about from the scavengers. It also has things that are similar to bones or skin that join its parts together, and all the parts joined and working together form the entire robot and allow it to function. No so radically different from a person, only in this case it seems parts can be touched (even inside), removed or changed for other things, without the robot dying as a person would. At least most of the time."Hmm... so'm wires veins is like?""-are like veins, is the proper way of saying it. Though I cannot speak to the validity of your comparison.""Are like..."In any case, eventually your punishment is considered sufficient it seems, as an adult shows up to unlock your door. However she lets you know that if you're caught again, they're going to have someone always around to watch you, after this. Really all you care about though now, is that you're free! You can go and find Jess as you wanted to, although you have enjoyed your time with Hardbody here. If you still had anything pressing you wanted to follow up with it, or if you'd rather just stay, you could.>What do you do?
>>3390202Ask the robot if he can teach us about being a police officer. If he gets on to the types of officer ask about SWAT and K9 officers. We can learn better words AND real life skills at the same time.
>>3390202Let's fond Jess and talk about the night visit and our talk with Kim, so someone else knows about it.It's got to be the underparts since its the only thing different, why nobody asked the robot?

>>3390202Ask him if he has weapons and if he can teach us how to use one later, don't show him our gun but ask if someone like us could have one, I don't want it confiscated, if he says it's ok we set up a training session later, if he says we can't have weapons drop the issue. After it find Jess, describe the woman and ask for her help to find her.
>>3390289+1
>>3390258>>3390261>>3390266>>3390289>>3390305Out of curiosity before you leave and probably let Hardbody on its way, you ask what a police is and get an explanation you can vaguely understand. Something to do with making sure people follow rules in the world before, and keeping people safe from others who don't follow the rules. Though unlike the restaurant robots for example, Hardbody seems aware that the world has changed and so the laws no longer apply, or at least it doesn't act to enforce the laws that used to be, just those set by the tribe. But by the sound of things the robot knows how to fight and use weapons, so naturally you ask if it could show you."No Alexa, you are too young. Not without permission from one of the leading adults."Though it may annoy you, that actually seems like a fair rule for the robot to follow, and a pretty human one as well. Just as the adults wouldn't want you messing around with weapons, so too have the imparted as much to the robot it seems. Interestingly it has no problems with you (or anyone for that matter) owning weapons or supposedly even using them, it just personally refuses to train you in any use of them without an adult's say so. Seems the scavengers have such rules about children and weapons.Well, all that means is you just need to get an adult to give permission! You thank the robot for its time, though it's not like you were keeping it from doing anything, as you leave with Daisy to go look for Jess.---"No sure who is. Claire so?"You can't find Jess but you can find Olivia in her place, and try to talk to her about what happened last night. Again though based on your vague descriptions Olivia isn't aware of who it might have been off the top of her head. She is willing to help you look however, if you have an idea of where to start. Her first idea is to just go around asking the adults, but you're not sure if you want that knowledge out in the open. What if whoever it was, wants to help you in secret? So you ponder the matter together while watching an oncoming storm front in the distance, adults rushing about every which way to prepare the building for when it arrives. As well, you also consider about bringing up the conversation with Kim along with some more of what you learned from Hardbody, but you're not exactly sure how to frame it. Plus you'd feel more comfortable talking about that with Jess, since she's more up to speed on your gender concerns.>What do you do?
>>3390423Look for the woman with Olivia but don't tell the adults, try to find Jess at the sleeping quarters or the infermary since that drink fucked us up too.If we cross paths with Kim ask her to give us permition to learn how to use our weapon with hardbody, it already saved us against the raiders and it would help keep us safe.
>>3390500>>3390500ThisIf we see Kim, ask her where she got her drome and if we can get a robot or a drone like hers.Did mother give us the basics on the laser pistol? Does it uses limited ammo or its one of those heat based weapons that you have unlimited shots but have to wait for it to cool down?
>>3390500Yeah sure. Don’t really have much besides making sure we spend some time every day learning to read and speak from the robot, and possibly the doctor if she’s willing. If we can read, comprehend, and communicate better, we will learn other things better in the future. Plus knowing more words means we can ask robots more things, which in turn leads to more knowledge and skills.
>>3390500>>3390527>>3390530Together with Olivia then you can set about looking for the woman from last night, keeping to the areas you're allowed to go and searching all around. Most of the adults as you saw, are busy with preparations for the oncoming storm, but that makes it easier to notice most of them. Unfortunately no luck locating your mystery woman, though you do encounter Kim overseeing the various scavengers returning to the building before the weather changes."For sure how for killy's? Ok, I see Hardbody I say."Well that was surprisingly easy, she doesn't seem to have any problem with you learning how to use some weapons better. Though it may have something to do with her currently being distracted. While you're there with her, watching other adults pull at the tether to the basket crossing the gap between buildings, you figure to also ask about her drone. As it turns out she merely found it while scavenging once, but they are able to sometimes cobble together spare and scrap parts to make their own devices. Or of course, with your bank account they could always trade for one or find a place to buy one. After that, you still keep searching for the woman from last night but as a second though, since right now you're after Jess. Olivia asks some of the other girls, and eventually you get led the way to the collapsed side of the building again. The older girls are evacuating their corner ahead of the storm just in case, and Jess took that as a chance to hang out with them by helping carry stuff. A bit distressing to see that she appears more or less fine, just tired, but then all the older girls are similarly fine. Meanwhile you're still coping with bouts of nausea after drinking that stuff last night, and your throat and stomach still sting. "Hiya Olivia, Alexa! Lookit them let be with!"Of course she's ecstatic just to be able to associate with the older girls, as you and Olivia rush to help her from dropping a plastic box, but she's happy to see you too. Together you move alongside some of the older girls also carrying things through the crumbling exterior of the building past old furniture and rubble remains, but you could probably convince her to set aside helping for now if you needed her. Perhaps to continue the search, it's only just after midday so there's still plenty day left but eventually it'll be night, and you imagine to have another encounter with your mystery woman.>What do you do?
>>3390568Tell her about the woman and recruit her for the search, when we take a time out from it tell them about the new info we got from hardbody, the new leads about making new people and how breast are probably not it, but underparts since they are different.I'm starting to think that woman is not from here since nobody knows her and we can't find her, did she sneak in?
>>3390568Bring her with us. Ask what's the problem with the storm, did we get those at the shelter?
>>3390568Maybe also besides just learning killys learn hand to hand combat. We are at the age where we should learn as much as possible.>>3390591Supporting. That woman has got to be an infiltrator from somewhere. We should also make a point of asking every day or every other day about progress on finding or communicating with mom. If necessary get an escort to go back to our shelter and leave a message.
>>3390636Kim mentioned putting and effort to get us to the shelter after that 90, we should ask about it again to her after the storm or tomorrow after she had the time to make the necessary prep
>>3390591+1
>>3390661Ah ok forgot that. We have so many votes and shit but don’t actually seem to ever do a whole lot that I lost track. Didn’t realize it had been one day
>>3390591>>3390610>>3390636>>3390661>>3390666Storms aren't something you ever dealt with in your shelter as it was below ground. However Olivia and Jess assure you it's nothing much to worry about, it's just that sometimes if the storms are strong enough the wind can whip up the clouds to higher than they normally linger. The adults are taking precautions just in case but it's really not all that dangerous. In any case you can spend the rest of the afternoon again, continuing to search for this woman but by then Olivia and Jess are doubtful that she exists and ask more than once if you weren't dreaming. Even you yourself, you feel certain she's real but wherever she is, you don't think you'll find her looking around the common areas. So you can take a break with your two friends as you grab something to eat together and then find a spot by one of the windows of the upper floors to sit and watch the ever-nearer storm front."Under parts? Just only toilet for.""No sure other lifes from. Ask Joans? Them's help other lifes."While appreciating the high up view above the clouds, you get to talking with them about what you're learning. Neither of them can seem to believe what you think though, why new people would have anything to do with under parts when they're just for going to the bathroom. Plus why the important stuff is called sticky milk if people have chests for milk. All rather suspect to them, but you know what the robot told you.Failing the search then for the mystery woman, you consider how to spend the rest of the evening. The adults make it sound like the storm will be here by dinnertime, so that kind of ruined Jess's hopes of partying with the older girls again. Most of all your mind is on this coming night though, and expecting another visit. Anything till then, feels impatient in comparison.>What do you do?
>>3390745Well you are effectively a prisoner here now! You yourself can attest how the days are wearing on you for only being allowed around the couple upper floors and always a close watch on you.>>3390527As for the laser pistol, mother showed you how to use it even though you've never fired it. It has a limited number of uses for it's battery, however that can be repowered with a special charger it comes with. So you don't have to worry about running out of shots as long as you've got access to power.Though, mother herself used a normal gun, and what few others you've seen since emerging into the outside world have also been normal guns. Yours is the only type of energy weapon you've ever seen.
>>3390766tell them to look around our room and they will see the woman tonigh, maybe invite them to sleep over, if Dayse would let them.for the afternoon we can search for the people that fix and assemble elek-tronics to see if we can build or try to get a drone for ourselves
>>3390814+1 for the invitation but let's talk with joan about our hardbody talk instead
>>3390839+1
>>3390839Man everybody is on the bandwagon to immediately start banging every chick on sight aren’t they? Even though we’re a prepubescent child of unknown age.
>>3390878>>3390839Seems the preference, but to what extent do you want to try and talk with her about it? Just what you learned, or actually trying to figure the whole picture.
>>3390895The reasoning is trying to figure it out so they can make new mans and we can start going other places again.
>>3390888not really banging for me, I just don't want to be alone when that woman comes back, I think she is up to no good
>>3390909Once they find out how to make new people we will never be allowed to escape damn.
>>3390909I understand the reasoning, I'm just seeing which is more a case considering Alexa has already displayed a tendency of suspicion and keeping things close to the chest. Rather a "Joan I figured it out!" or a "Can you explain to me without me letting on what I know, so I can figure it out on my own?"Basically how trusting you are with this information.
>>3390923Trust no one, particularly with things about being a man or reproduction. We can figure that shit out on our own later when we start getting awkward boners and shit. The first time we revealed we were different, we got put on house arrest.
>>3390923Hmmm, since Joan had a massive shift in interaction with us when we were honest with her I think Alexa would be more careful. How about we fish for information disguised as curiosity snd try to confirm our suspicious about what Hardbody said?
>>3390937We could play the long game. Learn as much as possible, become as literate as possible, and then we can ask hardbody again, or be directed by him to another robot or something.
>>3390923>"Can you explain to me without me letting on what I know, so I can figure it out on my own?"I don't really trust her as much as I trust the girls and Kim
>>3390951I don’t trust any of them. Except the girls our age. Maybe Kim. Sometimes.
>>3390971good, it always pays to have a paranoid anon
>>3390979We should all be paranoid. We don’t even realize the danger we’re in being the last known male alive. Gotta be careful until we’re big enough to take care of ourselves and ensure our independence.
>>3390979>>3390987And once it becomes impossible to disguise our gender due to size/musculature/facial hair/big benis.
>>3390987desu, I think Alexa feels quite safe here, since before he was in the land of loneliness, starvation and creepy monsters and now he doesn't have to worry with all that, so I'm on the trusting front to those that provided that.that being said I think we should learn how to defend ourselves and other survival skills since everyone is telling Alexa how dangerous the world is to him and how other people might want to take him because he is valuable.I don't think Alexa realizes how much of a big deal he is.>>3390989that will be funny, we will have to create some strategies later to hide it, the long hair clean shave and malnutrition play in our favor tho
>>3390997Eh, as much as I complained about us wasting time and money on food, I DO think we should at least go to the restaurant building to get enough food for ourselves, and whoever comes with us I guess. Can’t have the last man alive be a little underfed Virgin manlet. Gotta become the 10/10 alpha chad even though we have no frame of reference. Plus going to the restaurant building will inevitably lead to exploration, and maybe even study of the plant growth on its roof.
>>3390997>>3391022And not saying I don’t wanna help the radio shack scavenger girls but I don’t think we should spend all of our money on restaurant food for the whole tribe. Just gotta get additional nutrition, learn, and recontact mom. Even though she’s clearly not the best teacher if we can’t even read at this point.
Whew this took a long time to write, thanks for the patience!>>3390839>>3390814Without being able to find your mystery woman, your suspicions of her grow, as you ask if your friends would spend the night with you. Olivia is convinced that this person doesn't exist, but in any case she had already promised Maria that she would help with the younger girls through the storm tonight. Jess meanwhile senses your mix of worry and anticipation tonight though, and she agrees to stay with you if the adults will let her, or won't notice. Awhile longer then and rain starts to hit the windows and the skies darken with the setting sun. The communal dinner is a nice distraction for everyone to come together and enjoy themselves despite the wind and rain outside, and hearing the talk and news going around. The biggest focus being that with the coming of the storm, after it passes the clouds will be thinner for a day or so allowing for much greater travel and access through the city. This has a myriad of implications and almost every adult has plans or duties whenever this occurrence happens which you hear talk of now. It certainly sounds interesting, though after dinner you leave Daisy with Jess as you part ways with your friends; you want to follow up that information before turning in for the night."Hello Alexa! Joanie, can you watch her?""Sure'm thing mom."In the healthcare room having made your way over there, Joan and her daughters are currently dealing with a busted nose after a fight broke out over something. It doesn't seem serious enough though, where one of her daughters can't handle it so she takes a seat aside with you at the far end of the room to talk in some relative privacy. Primarily a chance to check your leg again, each day as she wishes, and still she's no less worried. But you can also try to learn more to fill in the jigsaw of your understanding, slowly being filled in."What do I know about the process?" she clearly wasn't expecting your question but she doesn't mind talking about it, you can sense even she wanted to as if hearing her thoughts aloud might help her thought process, "Well back when I was a member of the hospital, they would give injections... put inside you, the sticky milk. If it's done the right way then an extra life will grow inside you, and eventually... after some time when it's grown enough you'll have a baby. That's how I had Joana and Joanie, it's how you, me, how everyone is made."Mother as well you imagine, and how she had you. Maybe why she went back to the Red Cross place? Really though the more you think about it the more it confuses you. How do the animals do it then, if their males aren't all dead? Surely Daisy's dog mother didn't go visit the Red Cross place to have her, or any other animal for that matter, like the birds.
"In... injessons... they are like?" unclear of what she meant, you make a drinking gesture like you would with normal milk. While she isn't embarrassed to correct you, she hesitates over considering how to appropriate tell you considering your age. Perhaps thinking back when she probably gave this similar sort of talk or explanation to her own daughters, or anyone who asked where people come from."No... ah... people's under parts, women's. In the hospital they had an array... lots of equipment... big things to keep the sticky milk... ah... fresh? Good? And it was a lot of trouble and time to get an extra life with it. It's why they make people do so much for them, for it. For you however it should be much easier, and I believe you may already have it... make it? I'm just not sure how you... get it out, the books I have aren't clear on that." as she continues along this train of thought and this far, you can see where her understanding begins to fall apart and venture into speculation. She leans back in her chair with a long sigh and takes her glasses off, as if she still might stumble upon the truth by going over it all in her head, "Just think... if it really were easy for you, how many people could be helped... how many people could be made! None of the worries about mutations... ah, turning into... monsters, none of that either. It could be the chance the city needs..."Once again you see that side of Joan which treats you as important, but for a different reason. Kim and the other scavenger adults have plans it seems, that you have much value which they could use like trading or interacting with other people, or even having people to rely on them. In the end, all for benefits and gain for the tribe, though you can't really find fault with as they've welcomed you in and taken care of you as one of them. Joan however, doesn't seem to want to make people have to pay or trade to share the value you have, if anything she wants you to be able to help everyone so that not everyone is forced to rely on the Red Cross which she seems to dislike. At least though she confirmed some of your suspicions, if she's correct about the things she said. A different take on the situation with her doctor background, experience having come from the hospital and from her books, and perhaps most importantly that she has two extra lives herself in her daughters. Cleverly though you've been able to play dumb, really just acting as a listening shoulder for her to lean on and bounce ideas and theories off of that she couldn't have with anyone else, even if you don't understand anything she says. Unless you had anything further you wanted to speak with her about though, she's finishes checking on your leg just to make sure, still not happy with it but satisfied at her inspection for the time being.>What do you do?

>>3392141>>3391161>>3391158>>3391157>>3391156>>3391152>81You feel you learned enough from Joan for now, a good chance to handle two things at once while she checked on your leg. By the time you're out again though, to find Jess in order to walk Daisy before bed, the wind and rain are clear to see and hear heavy on the exterior windows of the skyscraper. You were looking forward to being able to spend the night with Jess however she gets caught on the way to your room and sent back, but not before she promises to try and sneak back again later. And sure enough after having gone through the nightly routine before bed along with the younger girls, brushing your teeth and trying to wash and such, one of the adults checks that you're in your room before leaving it at that. Who knows how much longer later though, you're awoken by Daisy's growling, and surprised when Jess scooches under the covers and snuggles beside."Hiya Alexa, good sneaky huh?"---Again with the growling! Later still into the night you can only assume though, your door is opened as a familiar figure enters, and you struggle to grab ahold of Daisy so she doesn't start barking."Heya girl, want come now? Oh... issat friend?""Mhmm. Am with."The woman approaches as easily as the night before with the same offer if you've reconsidered, though in the dim light she quickly notices Jess when close enough but she doesn't seem that bothered by her. Jess though, is sitting up wide awake now and you can guess at her current feelings when she desperately grips your hand, hard."W-Who... who is?">What do you do?
>>3393457Who are you? Why do you want me come with you? Where do you plan to take me?
>>3393457This is Jess, what's your name? Why I couldn't find you during the day? Are you from outside?Jess seems afraid, try to be in front of Jess, she obviously doesn't recognize the woman

>>3393546>>3393528>>3393496>>3393623Given Jess's reaction, you find yourself wishing you'd kept your laser pistol under your pillow tonight. Though it's not far, just under the bed in your bag, it's farther than you'd like. Failing that, you make an effort to move before Jess if she's afraid, while struggling to maintain control of Daisy."Am Alexa, is Jess... you is?""Shreya." she also holds out a hand to you but you have no idea what that means."Where to go?""Good place, down mountain. Want is see? Come."Somewhere lower within the skyscraper it sounds like, which you're not unfamiliar with since you went exploring with Olivia and Jess some of the lower floors before you were forbidden from going down there. Why at night though, and what about the storm going on?"Why is want me?""Jess can to, you like. Big good, no here."Well she makes it sound nice at least, and after getting over the initial shock of seeing a stranger here, Jess is a little less worried now. Probably in part because you know she's always curious so her interest is slowly overpowering her misgivings. Especially when there's an adult talking about breaking rules and going exploring to cool new places. Not that she's eager to hop out of bed and follow, but she's not holding back cries for help, rather more interested to hear what else this stranger could offer. Of course, Daisy isn't at all happy and would bite her hand if she could. And you're naturally uncertain about all of this.>What do you do?
>>3393637How is she dressed? Does it remind us of those raider girls?Ask what good is there, and ask what tribe she is

>>3393655She's dressed for like, if you had the knowledge of such a thing, utility work. So not like the raiders, doesn't seem like them in mannerisms either.>>3393659>>3393655>>3393672>>3393738With Jess having eased up on the offer, you can't help feel a little interested yourself. After all, when else are you going to get a chance to leave when you want? Still, is it worth the possible risk?"What good is? Can to here?""No can to, is good place down. More to move, free, no trouble clouds or. More people also."So it's not some treasure or anything she's talking about, but a place, hence why she wants to take you rather than just showing you some thing. More people doesn't sound like a bad thing though."Is trouble storm?""No'm." she laughs at this and you think you can see a smile, "Am mountain climber, us all no trouble clouds... normal no trouble."So she's not a raider then at least, and now Jess is very curious at the mention of mountain climber, something she must be familiar with and now is eager to find out what that means. Although she's been patient and answered your questions though, and doesn't do anything to stop you from climbing out of bed (after having handed Daisy to Jess) to get your bag and be ready to grab your pistol, you still don't trust her."No can to. Want talk Kim, to help.""No can if is. If no, will trouble. No me, but will trouble."At your want of seeking Kim on this matter, Shreya becomes more serious and speaks firmly in response. About not being able to offer her help if you do, and that you can expect trouble if you don't. Though she doesn't seem to mean you an ill will, more it sounds like a warning from her to let you know, if she has to leave. Given credence to your suspicions now then, at least somewhat.>What do you do?
>>3393782Let's see if I understand this correctly, she said that if we don't go there will be trouble for us? That's the suspicious she confirmed?
>>3393795That is her claim yes, but it's a warning not a threat.
>>3393801Question, so if we go can we come back?

>>3393808Actually, don't ask this, this is pretty obvioys and may just scare Jess.Ask this>>3393812
>>3393846Ask her how did she find us, and if she knows what we are, and if she can help the tribe
>>3393812>>3393846>>3393855She doesn't seem to want to give away a whole lot for whatever reasons of her own, but she simply puts it that if you don't come with her by choice, then others will come to take you without asking and cause trouble for anyone who tries to stop them. This now, causes both you and Jess to worry and her interest has scaled back to fear again. How she found you, she was told to look for a girl (so you assume she doesn't know the truth about you or even who told her) with features like your own, and who would probably be treated importantly. Well you're the only girl she found who had her own full-sized room to herself, so she can only assume it's you. Other details though like long hair are a giveaway as well.
>>3393915"So you are bad people. People that hurt others. Who asked to find me?"
>>3393915Welp, as expected we are again in a trust no-one situation. Here's the big BUT though: she says others will come for us ic we dont go with her, which means if we don't, we'll endanger everyone around us too. Ask what they want with us
Fuck guys I really don't know, I really don't want to go with them fighting but I just know they will slaughter these poor girls if we stay
>>3393961Ask, no trouble for Jess?
>>3393915Ask then if our mom sent her. If they know our mom. If she says yes then we ask her to describe our mom and our moms name.
This is what happens when people vote to show our dick to people despite explicit caution against that. Being the last man around and all.
>>3393947>>3393958>>3393969>>3393986By this point she begins to sound like she's losing patience, since she didn't come all this way to play twenty questions with a kid. Also over what she feels like she's reiterating."Downtown people want you, what see fore. What for want, no sure. Just only job for.""...what is?""Job... work for other."Whether she cares to let on any more, or she simply doesn't know the full picture, but she can't speak to every detail of her employers. As a mountain climber, it merely sounds like they hired her to find and try to convince you to come to them, any other details are perhaps beyond her."So come, or no?""...trouble for Jess?""Want come? No sure why trouble for."If she had only come to try and get you, then you can see why she wouldn't think Jess would face any trouble. Though the wisdom of bringing Jess at all comes to mind, why take the risk with her? It seems in her best interest to leave her behind but then, it would be a lie to say you aren't scared and would appreciate having a friend to rely on. Not to mention whatever trouble might result if Jess is refused despite possibly wanting to come for your sake, and if she is left behind whatever she might stir up trying to get help from any adults>What do you do?
>>3394042Job? For money? I have big money, I give some to you if you help us no trouble with downtown people, help us against them

She's not acting by force or trying to kidnap you or anything, it's just an offer to come with her.Going to take a little break for a bit as well, just a heads up, maybe give other players a chance to weigh in here on this, what could be a very important decision.
>>3394218We can show her, he can wait us near somewhere down below while we grab Kim and negotiate with her, if we decide not to go we would run off to her too so ask her to be patient and she can have a new job
>>3394346But if there is no way I think we will end up going, leave a goodbye message to Kim in tge camera if we do, apologizing and telling we don't want her hurt.Is we end up staying we should record the woman with the camera, or even surrender her with our pistol to get info from her, raise hell and use the photo and the woman to prove what we are saying and convince them to defend the place better, they probably have a strategy dor outside attackI'll have to go....i hope the rest of you guys figure something out.
>>3394218I think we should go with her, I think this people are probably from the red cross since they would know if mother told them, and they are evil and would really hurt these girls.A shame to leave them behind because this is a nice place and was about to be nicer with more freedom, and we would probably be hostages in even worse condition there, but we can leave a message to Kim and hope for a rescue, maybe turn on the gps on the phone she gave us or just leave marks and clues every night when we move with the new people. As of Jess, I'd let her choose, it's dangerous af but it would be nice to have someone and if they don't accept her we could ask to this woman to promise to take her back if we go with her peacefully.
>>3394374>>3394359>>3394346Under no circumstances should we surrender our weapon or let it out of our possession. We should definitely ask her who paid her to get us. That’s the most important bit of information we need.
>>3394374Why don’t we ask her who is paying her?
>>3394428>>3394426Asking her at least is fair enough, but it doesn't much help. Some people called the "fifty-niners", a gang, but that's meaningless to you. Though, not the Red Cross for sure, or any of the other major groups you've heard or learned about since living outside.>>3394359>>3394346If you want to try and make a deal with her, you can make a roll in an effort to convince. However, that's only just to get her to reconsider. There's no telling how other people will react or consider it if they become aware of the situation, like Kim or other adults for example.
>>3394506Also a heads up that I will be busy tomorrow so probably will not be able to run until later on. Just a heads up so you don't have to wait around till then.

Rolled 28 (1d100)>>3395536If we can actually convince her to make a deal, and repell or ambush those bitches we will have a very good argument to have our freedom back, since they only knew that they should take us because of the special treatment, so we would be able to run around and we would be with the rest of the kids to sleep, even learn skills and explore when we can

Already she's been here for longer than she'd planned or feels comfortable with, so she has to hurry back and let it be known that you wouldn't come willingly. That was all her job was it seems, so if it's reached this point then she's fulfilled her obligation and wants to get out safely. You could act as she leaves of course, maybe try to raise some alarm so that she gets caught, but whatever you do you expect you'll have to act fast otherwise she'll be gone and then who knows what?

At least until some help can arrive to subdue her, then figure out better what's going on with the situation. And failing that, you can bring up the matter with others in preparation.A roll for her to see.
>>3398845>55She hadn't tried to stop you from getting your bag, though she's probably wishing she had when you pull the pistol on her. Even in the dim light from the hall, you can see the immediate worry form her when she realizes the pistol."What'm?! Only for job, no other!""N-Need stay! Need say all!"Nervously your hands shake as you try your best to act serious, though she's probably more worried by your shaky hands gripping the weapon. It takes a bit for your mind to catch up with your actions, when eventually you realize the priorities and tell Jess to get the robot and Kim. She too is scared now, but slowly, carefully crawls across the bed and for the door past the intruder. Shreya herself tries to talk you out of this, though you're insistent for everyone else's sake, and before long a familiar robot enters the doorway. In rapid action, fast enough to surprise you, the robot must have read the situation and with an array of mechanical sounds dashes for and grabs ahold of Shreya. Twisting her arms and ending up holding her from behind in some way that looks rehearsed, she struggles but is simply no match for the robot. "What is- aah!" Kim enters sounding annoyed at this time of night, but yells in surprise when indeed she sees a stranger in the room, Jess clinging to the doorway and peering in, W-What in all is?!"It looks like then, you've caught yourself a trespasser! Hardbody has her prisoner while Kim tries to decide what to do on the fly, and sends Jess to fetch some others. Of course you're still shakily holding the pistol up out of nervousness, but the problem seems to have been resolved. Though, that said it would appear Kim views this as an adult problem and along with the other grownups will find a way to deal with this themselves.>What do you do?
>>3398896inform kim about the general situation. tell her the woman claims she doesn't know we are a man. ask hardbody to give us combat training for our laser pistol with the justification that we are a target of another group. also recharge the weapon if we can.I honestly think a lot of people won't like that we bring this much danger due to our mere existence, so let's also try to stay near friends
>>3398896Tell Kim she was hired to get us, a gang named ninrty fivers is behind this and they know we would be treated differently( don't mention the name) tell her they will attack to get us and we need her to tell everything she can.If tge worst happens the laser pistol would be better in the robots hands if it can kill
>>3399124thiswe need all the information, the routes they would take, where they are.maybe she can take us there and our group can attack them before they know what's happeningit's important to mention that Shreya only knew who to take because they treated us differently, and we would not like her to get hurt since she did not treat us bad and even warned us.tell her we think they know about us, and that this is dangerous for the tribe....if she thinks it's better we can go with her, so that people of the tribe don't get hurt, we would hate that
Oh, and also tell her that if the information is good we can pay her AFTER we deal with the gang, so she has more incentive to help, because if the information is not good she is going to be in a bad position

>>3399212>>3399160>>3399124>>3399060Well despite being the catalyst for all this, you face a similar problem as usual, where for being a child the adults exclude you. Even though you'd like to help or be involved, Kim says you did a good job but that you should get some sleep then while they take Shreya away to do with as they see fit. You've little choice anyway, when they put an adult to watch your room after a stranger got inside the tower looking for you. At least Jess is allowed to stay for her help in all this.---Come morning then you're anxious to get up, neither you nor Jess having slept much at all after all that's gone on. As you find though, things are pretty busy but maybe not as much as you'd hoped. The adults are all active and going about making preparations and some even carrying weapons. The rest though, like the older girls don't seem to have any urgency to them, and perhaps aren't aware of whatever the situation is.While at breakfast though you do get noticed, as Aliyah approaches you and nudges you with her foot."Eat fast Alexa, big other want safe for you."Wearing some thicker clothing and holding a jagged metal club, she's willing to wait around for you to take your time, but seems intent on escorting you somewhere. You already saw the preparations for a storm approach, the weather itself still fierce outside, but now you're privy to preparations for what you can only assume to be defense. Trying not to look like you're intentionally spying instead of eating, you can notice barricades being made and necessary equipment brought out and organized. Naturally, although the truth might not have been let out, a lot of the girls and even some of the younger women are gossiping among themselves over breakfast. Probably isn't the first time an attack has to have been warded off, but for them it seems like something interesting or even exciting."When is to, you'm?"At least you have Jess, probably as worried as you are and sitting beside, tightly gripping your hand all the while. Asking the obvious question as well, when you think this trouble might come. Which would make it difficult to eat in fact with having to manage Daisy, but Olivia is helping with that after she sought you out having noticed everything that's going on.>What do you do?
>>3399277Check if hardbody can kill people and if it has a weapon. If he doesn't have keep him close so he can use our pistol, a robot with precision targeting will fuck those girls upGo to Kim, ask how the other woman is, and tell her why they didn't warn everybody, the bad woman will probably come soon since the storm will clear the clouds and the way to the top will be clear for them.
>>3399277ask Kim "how many tens" of enemies there isask her if she knows the gangask her if they have weapons like our pistolask her how is the girl, we want to talk with her if possible, we offered her a dealand explain to her that they knew who we were because they put us in a different place, we should be together with everybody
>>3399340depending on her answers if we think this is too dangerous we should offer to go with the gangers to spare them
>>3399340>>3399348>>3399320After you finish eating then, you have some things in mind you want to see about, though unfortunately Aliyah cuts you short. Stopping by to see Kim on the way is alright, but none of your friends can come with since they're taking you to a secure place. Naturally Jess and Olivia are upset, but what can they do really? At least though on the way, as said you're taken to see Kim who's helping organize defenses. Particularly overseeing other scavengers like herself who have experience venturing out to other buildings."Kim! What is all? Where Shreya is?""Hm? Oh outsider? Is gone."That's a little disappointing, you'd wanted to talk to her again, thank her for her help even if it was indirect."Let go? Is safe?""No, push." Aliyah answers, gesturing to the windows, "Fly good, ye Kim?""Hah! Yes'm!"They both share a laugh over this, and you feel a little sick now. It seems they got everything they wanted or needed from Shreya, and then dealt with her. Still worried though you try to figure what you can, against some frustrated tears. Although Kim and some others are familiar with the gang and the two communities sometimes butt heads while out scavenging, it isn't clear how many they have. There's many more people living in Downtown overall, and worse still that it's easy for them to interact and communicate, no worry about skyscrapers separated by gaps and trying to cross them. So there's no telling about how many the gang itself has, but also if they hired a mountain climber then who knows what other help they might have gotten? As for defenses, they do have guns but yours is the only laser weapon around. They'd have taken it from you but if you are the focus of this trouble then they think it best you keep it, especially after you were able to take Shreya hostage and hand her over to them with it. Though, Hardbody will be playing a part in any trouble to come, and if you don't mind they would willingly give it your gun. Though they probably will not use the robot to personally defend you, more useful at the front. At least your questions and possible requests are being listened to, before they lock you away in some other place again.>What do you do?
>>3399513Tearfully ask Kim why she killed Shreya? She was good, is Kim a bad person? I though you were good Kim! I don't want our friends to die, why not give us? They only want us.
>>3399513Does hardbody has another ranged weapon? If he doesn't we should lend ours to him so he can dish out some damage, if he has we keep ours.Tell Kim the importance to leave us with the other kids, they don't know about us, they only know people treat us differently, so if we are with the others they won't know we are different, that way we can stay near Jess and Olivia and protect them, but don't tell them that.>>3399633She took a job to kidnap a kid and deliver to a gang to do who knows what with it, she may not be bad but good was not something she was
>>3399653>>3399633You can't help but break down some over Shreya's fate, in part because you feel responsible. She was never forcing anything upon you and if you'd not pulled a weapon on her she'd still be alive. For your own sake you try to blame it on Kim and paint her as a bad person, even though she personally is not responsible, but it's merely a matter of cope."Try steal you'm. Sneak in home, bring trouble? Other kill us all no so much."For as normal as she makes it sound, you think that maybe it's just a matter you don't understand about the outside world, for as new to it as you are. It doesn't make you feel better but maybe a little less frustrated at her and the others. That's already one person dead now because of your actions though, you couldn't imagine having more people killed for your sake, that you start to have some serious doubts. Just asking Kim, or anyone there, you don't expect they'll give you up no matter what. But it's something to consider, if escaping could mean lives saved..."Can stay with other'm girls same winters? Trouble others no'm sure who is, no can find?"It's something you just wanted to stay with your friends, but a good idea actually as they consider it. After talking it over together, Kim and Aliyah seek a couple more higher up adults before the decision is made and you're allowed to stay with the other young members of the community if and when the trouble starts. For now that just means being allowed around the communal area with the girls and to be with your friends, though as you understand it, if the time comes you'll all just be taken to a separate few rooms elsewhere.Your last concern is Hardbody, but it has a gun and any of the various weapons to use so it's not like it needs your laser pistol to be dangerous. A relief then as you're reunited with Jess and Olivia with a shared hug, and knowing you have a chance to defend them if need be.>What do you do?
>>3399820Ask to talk to Joan, use the leg wound as an excuse since she needs to check it today.Tell her what we figured out about new people, we know where the sticky milk came out and that it made mother go away, and after the talk with hardbody we figured that the secret is in the different parts, not in the breasts since those are the same.Tell her that we can make new people for us and for the other gang so nobody needs to fight we can help everybody, we don't want people fighting over us.
>>3399860You can try to do that, however just to point out, the gang doesn't seem aware of your gender so that can't be the reason they're after you.
>>3399878They don't? I was sure they did, that they just didn't tell the mountain climber, why else wpuld they come after us?Well, no matter, if they don't know let's just talk to Joan how we don't want for people to fight over us and that we canhelp everybody, and that we may have figured it out, everything is crazy as fuck right now.Keep Olivia and Jess near us while we talk I guess
>>3399820Ask the girls if other people have come for trouble in the tower, tell them we should warn the adults about the elevator shaft since they could use that to come up, maybe put some traps there.
>>3399901they could be after our laser gun, we flashed it for those raders.>>3399820ask hardbody to help us find useful things on the scrap pile, things that can help in the defense or to make a scout drone so we can check on the enemy progress
Going to step out for a little bit as mentioned earlier, but will resume right here when I return. This is a good bit to pause, before any serious actions begin to take place.>>3399901Well to specify, Shreya had not known your true identity so they had not told her. Maybe that's not a guarantee, but if they had known then why they wouldn't tell her seems pretty unreasonable if the goal was to find you.If they don't know the truth about you as you assume, it's anyone's guess as to why they're after you. Regardless of this though you can still go to Joan, but depending on how you try and talk to her, what are you hoping for? That she try to find and negotiate with the other side?>>3399914While you're back with Olivia and Jess you can talk to them of course, and according to them it's very rare but not unheard of, of people from Downtown attacking Uptown. It's premier living up here so anyone would prefer it if they could take it, it's just a matter of being able to access the upper skyscrapers remaining. Hence why this is such a big deal apparently. The last time there was a proper attack, only Olivia recalls from her mother telling her it occurred when she was a baby, too young to remember herself.>>3399941You can make a roll for that effort then, Hardbody's help in trying to assemble some useful items.

>>3400184I suppose we can ask for a successful ambush and that the enemy girls are overestimated by us? Hehe.If that is not possible maybe something to help on the battle, some ancient force field that deflects projectiles comming in but allow those coming out to hit their targets, or a new gun that hardbody is specially lethal with, or a survailance drone so we can keep an eye at the enemy and give the girls heads up
>>3400184A cloaking device that was ignored because it looks like just a random thing but the robot identified for us.
>>3400202>>3400167>>3400102>>3400091>>3400016>>3400008>64, 64The place is being prepared sure, but it's not on lock down or anything as such yet, so you can still move about freely now that they're not planning on locking you in some secure room. With your mind on the battle then you seek out Hardbody who from your limited experience, you believe will be the best force to come. Presently the robot is helping move barriers with its superior strength but you can request its help after that. Specifically in this case to sort through some of the scrap up here, since you've developed a want of a drone yourself."This is not civilian issue, what is it doing here?""What is?""It is a wavelength surveillance interrupter. It renders something undetectable to electronics, including security systems."You don't understand even half of what the robot said, but by the sound of things, the device he found among one of the scrap piles causes something to appear invisible to things like cameras, sensors or even robots. Some sort of police type of item for special situations, the robot seems confused why it is mixed in among old cell phones and such. Though usually the tribe is using the robot to carry heavy things rather than search scrap piles for valuables. In any case after an hour or so of searching, enough functioning parts are cobbled together that according to the robot, a drone could be made. Not a good one, but it would have the bare minimum of working parts. Though you have these things, people are waiting to ask for more help in the preparations so you can't expect the drone to be assembled now, but you are able to swipe all the pieces into your bag. One last request before it goes, you also ask Hardbody to show you how best to use the laser pistol, which it gives a confusing but quick rundown. You feel a little better in use now for sure.Either way, it's past midday now and things are starting to come together with the defense. There doesn't appear to be an adult who isn't armed save for some of the older ones who won't be fighting, and the bottom main floor is quite fortified while the lower floors have those women who dwell down there like a maze of ruined halls and rooms to serve as ambush grounds. While you are able to offer your help for the preparations, they aren't going to allow you to do any fighting like participating in the ambush even though you want to be the sound of it.So then all that's left really is the waiting game, to see if what Shreya was saying is true. By nightfall you and the girls will be moved to a few rooms while the adults keep watch, but till then it's your call on how you spend the time you have left. Some girls are just sitting quietly, anxious or anticipating, while others don't take things that seriously since there's no signs of attack yet.>What do you do?
>>3400310Get some rest while we can, if we hear fighting we’ll wake up rested and fresh to either assist if absolutely necessary or to escape. Either way we need to rest while we can.
>>3400310Go around that collapsed area, maybe there was where the climber came up, just check if anyone is comingDoes that Jammer works if a person wears it? Could we burst open those secure doors without triggering the survailance system of the building with it?
>>3400347Check there and then rest with the girls, this shit is gonna be tough, hope hardbody can fuck those girls up
>>3400358After we rest for a bit try to sneak to somewhere were we cpuld help defends
>>3400347>>3400343>>3400358According to Hardbody, the jammer "covers" a field around it so yes it could actually work to "hide" a person. It was used for equipment in times past but it could be used for just about anything with the proper application. Not a true invisibility, but unable to be detected by any electronic means like cameras or sensors. In any case you can check around the collapsed side of the building, but it's windy and raining quite heavily, with wisps of the clouds being stirred up. If anyone were to come up this way, they would be suicidal or incredibly well-prepared. Faced with little other prospects, you think it best just to get some sleep them. You're already tired from last night so why sit up just wasting time till later. Olivia wants to stay up but Jess is also as tired so you can ask one of the adults to just go ahead and show you to whatever safe rooms the have in mind. On the second floor, one of the rooms belonging to an adult anyway, you and Jess can find an old couch after being shown there to get some sleep as Daisy rests on the floor beside. You'll come to be woken up by her growling of course, come nighttime when the other girls are brought here, but under adult supervision it's not much longer after that till lights are out and everyone's getting sleep for the night. What sleep there is to be had that is, over the sounds of the storm outside and the tense feelings and worries throughout the tribe...---A rumble, a shaking, it's not Daisy that wakes you as usual but tremors of the floor. You're not the only one to wake up either, as despite the dark of the room there's fearful whispers and gasps from the girls. The designated adult, one of the older women says not to worry to those that are awake, but that doesn't dispel the continued periodic shaking of the room. At least you don't have to worry alone, as you notice Jess having moved position on the couch, her arms wrapped around you in a tight embrace and afraid to let you go. Even Daisy, faced with something she doesn't understand, is trying to crawl under the couch to hide but unfortunately in her age is too fat to fit.>What do you do?

>>3400494>>3400489>>3400479>51Well there's not a whole lot you can get away with when in a dark room and trying to open the door, not to mention stumbling over girls on the way to it. But at your shared coordination Jess turns on the lights to everyone's upset, enough a distraction for you to quickly open the door and get out before she turns them off again. In any case you're outside now, as you feel the floor shake again, and can hear yelling down the hall coming from the main floor. You have with you your laser pistol and some minor basics, but not your bags so that you can travel fast and light. And creeping farther towards the end of the hall, you can see, the storm has abated. And with it much of the clouds, providing the best view you've ever seen of the city, certainly the clearest.>What do you do?

>>3400562Man at the end of this we are gonna end up owing these gals so many damn “extra lives” we’ll not have time for anything else. On the other hand if the invaders win, they’ll demand a ton of extra lives from us for making their job harder and to replace the ones they lost to get us. Either way we’re gonna be a busy boy.🐱
I've gotta say these Woman are fucking dumb.....We could have gone and bought Robots but noooooo, they are so fucked.... I don't want them dead because of us but I don't want our Alexa to stay here. After the Battle we should talk Hard Body into leaving with us as a Bodyguard and Mentor, to spare the Tribe any more attacks..... Of course getting freedom back is the real goal.Besides.... Hardbody can teach us Languages, Technology and Combat better than any of these idiots.
>>3400694It's not like they would let hardoby go, or even that he would want to go toconsidering what they had they did what they could, there was going to be an attack and they don't want to give us up, I don't want to go with to go with raiders tooif we do well enough here we can demand our freedom and still have a nice home baseand we can still buy robots, they probably can tell us where that is, but with the time we had I think it would be difficult to get some bots

>>3401549kekstill, this seems like some military weapon gone wrong, not some women's plot, now we have to save humanity from extinction.
>>3401457Generations only fighting to survive do that, I'd say our friends here are pretty clever considering the circumstances, but still infuriatingly dense if we take our modern standard as base of comparison.Let's see if we can improve that in the coming years, provided we survive this raid of course
>>3401571Thing is though, unless mistaken, it doesn't seem like conflict or war is a common thing. When did they say a previous attack was? And this one now is only happening over the MC, without them there wouldn't be an attack. So it's not like they're constantly fighting all the time let alone generation after generation.
>>3401549Of course it’s up to the last man to fix the world that feminists destroyed. This is what happens when feminazis start being appointed to positions where they have authority and access to use nuclear weapons, biological, and chemical warfare.
>>3401594I meant fighting for survival on the resourse front, while a full scale invasion like this is rare, skirmishes with raiders and other groups are fairly normal I think, since they are all bruised and battered, they don't do these battles often but I think they have to fight for every scrap of shitty food they bring back
welp, this escalated quickly

Will be running today but maybe a little later than usual, still taking care of some busywork. Just a heads up.
>>3402234Busywork is the worst kind of work.
Ok resuming now, or, writing post now.
>>3400562>>3400542You creep down the hallway then, having to rush when a door to another room opens back a ways behind so you don't want to get caught. But once you reach the end of the hall and are at the overlook of the upper residences lobby, you can get a better look of what's going on, even if you don't understand it.The proper action must be taking place not so far away (though still out of sight) but you see women back and forth from the main level of the lobby a couple floors down using the place to coordinate. Both a rallying and fallback point, you see some coming from elsewhere to head elsewhere, others ferrying equipment to and fro, and others still helping injured and wounded to this point so that they're out of the fight before being taken elsewhere. Probably the healthcare center, Joan and her daughters must be very busy.By your impression the fighting must be going on among the stairwells and perhaps even the lower floors themselves, though from up here you can't see that, just the movement of women engaged in the fight to and from for the various reasons you saw already. It's frustrating that you can't get an impression if the fight is going good or bad for the tribe, but you see some terrible injuries that make you feel sick both from the grievousness of them as well as the guilt. All that trouble and conflict and pain down there because of you, how many more deaths along with Shreya's will be on your hands for this?In any case despite all warnings (even your own) against it, you feel compelled to help out somehow if you can. You're certain that if anyone catches you outside and away from the girls your age you'll be in a heap of trouble and immediately taken back by force. So not getting caught is key, but how much or what even can you accomplish by being sneaky here?Another shake, and an echoing boom down below with some screams of panic, as you nervously consider your options...>What do you do? If you do actually want to go down there and get involved, it will be a matter of not being noticed yourself, so a roll will be necessary.

>>3402609first we get there, then we see how we can help, I think that was the objective
Sorry for the delay there, had to chase off some intruders.>>3402606>>3402590>94With quick thinking and a bit of luck, you manage to navigate your way down then. First sneaking down the lobby stairs to the main floor, having to stop or hide at times to avoid being noticed. Seeing the action up closer is more intense now for sure, but you need to get closer still. So taking a big risk, you move on over to the collapsed side of the building. Quite an amazing view outside now for sure but also a big scare of heights for you to suddenly be faced with. Navigating around the exterior for a short while though, you think you can see a way down. Risky, painful, but you won't be noticed, as you clamor over the side and hang as low as you can to drop and fall basically onto an old desk which collapses when you hit it. "Oof!"A rough landing but you're not injured, so getting up you navigate through the lower floor ruins, remains of rooms and halls till you quite narrowly miss someone running past to try and take cover. One of the women who lives down here, but you can see the real fighting taking place farther down and you're not sure this was a good idea.Especially not when the floor shakes again and you see the source, some heavy duty machine, a robot smashing through several walls to make way for combatants to follow behind it. Some of your own tribe take potshots but there's hardly an effect on the lumbering machine.Well, you made it down to the combat, as of yet unnoticed in an old room. You don't know for how much longer though, as more of the enemies follow after this breaching robot and spill onto the floor in their efforts to get higher up the tower.>What do you do?
>>3402814use the jammer so the robot can't see us. Look at it for a soft opening, some place that we could attack and damage it's insides, the vulnerable part
>>3402895Weak spot on a bulldozer, just about. You can try but the jammer won't obscure you from the numerous people following/using the machine for cover. If you don't mind though, yeah it might work.
>>3402901a bulldozer up here? fucking hellwhere are our people? let's try to find somewhere to hide near them, maybe to get the others by surprise when they get here
>>3402814Where is our robot? Is it positioned here?Find a pkace where we can shoot while they pass, and then we can run off down a corridor or some passage, we know this place better than them
>>3402916Not a literal bulldozer but imagine a humanoid robot equivalent, a durable heavy duty machine for dangerous work. At your guess it was only barely able to fit the stairwell or perhaps might even have used an elevator shaft, and it clearly isn't impeded by normal rooms or corridor sizes on this floor. There are some few tribe members of yours on this floor trying to hold their own, but most everyone are on the common floors above. The invaders are trying to get up there as their goal, but it looks like they're first trying to get a foothold on this floor in the meantime to proceed from after that.>>3402939You're not sure where Hardbody is, you assume that it's probably upstairs with everyone else guarding the stairwell entries to the main communal floors. So you're split between choices here, you can either work your own little guerilla style attacks here on this floor, or you can try and meet up with the few women down here you know.
>>3402948First of all we have to test this thing out, watch the invaders, wait for one of them to split off, maybe checking someplace and finally use the piston on them from their backs
>>3402948is there anyone controlling the robot like Kim's drone or does it move by itself like hardbody?and why the hell are there people down here and not with the defenders at the hallway? why stay behind? are they planning something?try to hide near our girls and see what they are doing
>>3402948We can't do much here besides hoping for the best, these fuckers are not playing around with that robot.Hide near our girls and wait for an opportunity to surprise someone with laser
>>3402975As far as you can tell by observing from a distance, the gang members are communicating with the robot back and forth, so that seems like a good sign it has some sort of "mind" like Hardbody does.>>3402965>>3402975>>3402993The scavenger tribe members down here are acting sort of like scouts, like you they know the ruined lower floors down here better than the enemy so they're running around keeping an eye on the attackers and communicating with the rest of the tribe on the upper floors with walkie talkies and such. As well, they're staging little guerilla attacks since the enemies are just trying to use the stairwells to get to the upper floors, so tribe members being able to quickly attack into the stairwell from a doorway is a nasty little problem to deal with.Though in this case as you see, the gang members seem to have lost their patience and had the construction robot just smash through into the floor here so they can attempt to take it over and mitigate the guerilla attacks."Chaya!"You've never seen a conflict like this let alone been in one. Your knees are weak, you're shaking entirely, breathing quick and sweating with anxiety. Half a mind to just hide here in one of the rooms, but you see two of the gang members caught in a fight and bust through a door as they grapple with Chaya. It seems she got jumped herself, as they knock her to the ground, one bashing her knees with a pipe while the other yells at her about being a traitor or something. You're not suicidal as to run headlong into a group of enemies but these two are off to the side here and they've got a friend.Your fear and hesitation keeps you from acting but each cry of pain from Chaya drives you closer to the edge till finally you switch on the laser pistol with a hum and rush out. Stumbling close over rubble and collapsed walls, you shakily line up the weapon with the nearest gang member and squeeze the trigger with a little whine from the gun as a result to signify the intensity."AAARGH!!"An instant flash and a roar as the air ignites and a blue ray shines like a flashlight where you pointed it, the woman's shoulder. For a split second her clothes and skin ignite with a hiss (and her screaming) immediately after which a burning hole is punched clean through. There's no power on these lower floors so the only ambient light comes from outside, through the windows, but you're witness to a burst of bloody red smoke from the woman as she falls to the floor, screaming and writhing on fire while you notice a bloody portion of the wall with a flickering scorch mark.
Of course it happens so quick that all of you there are in shock, and out of fear you even drop the gun and fall to your knees. The un-shot gangster tries to help her friend but can only do as much as put the fire out after a struggle, before she looks at you wide-eyed and just surrenders. Dropping her weapon and clasping her hands, raised together like some plea for mercy as her friend cries in agony and grips her for some support, any reprieve from the pain. A smoking, bloody mess. And the awful smell of scorched flesh."...A-Alexa?"Chaya is just as bewildered, especially since the blue ray igniting and ripping through the poor woman happened right in her face pretty much. Eventually though she notices you, and tries to stagger to her hands and knees at least in an attempt to approach you.>What do you do?
>>3403065grab the weapon back and bring Chaya back to the stairs, if she tries to say something we tell her we are helpinglet's see what this does to the robot
>>3403078The stairs are where almost entirely the conflict is taking place. I'm guessing you mean just wherever is safe?
>>3403083yes
>>3403083She is hurt, just drag her to one of the roomsThen let's try to shoot at the robot, yhis thing was pretty strong, don't forget to use the jammer so it doesn't see us comming and prepare to run away as soon as we shoot

>>3403143>>3403108>>3403104>76Fearfully you can't take your eyes off them as you aimlessly grab around on the floor for the pistol. Eventually feeling it though, you can point it at them till the one gang member drags the other away, her cries of pain still audible even when they're well out of sight. That's the chance you need to be able to help support Chaya enough that you can reach an out of the way room together and leave her for now."Alexa, no! Is all for you, no can!"She tries to protest, and even grabs ahold of you in an attempt to wrestle you under control, but you struggle and slip free of her to make a break for it, leaving her pleading for you behind. Not that you make it that far, you only get away from her before your knees start to feel weak again, the adrenaline surging enough to turn your stomach. Staggering aside, you puke at the memory of the laser shot, probably burned into your mind as much as that poor woman was. Heaving for breath though and wiping your mouth, you don't have time to stop. Gripping the gun you do your best to sneak through the rubble of the floor and get close enough where you think you have your chance; the two gang members you let go managed to reach their comrades, who have all dropped what they were doing to focus on their own who got shot with a laser. Enough a distraction for you to rush in and bypass them all in your aim for the robot. With the jammer even, it never gets a chance to notice you. And certainly too late for any of the gang members, as you grip the gun once more and squeeze the trigger for that same whine of intensity, aiming upward. A blue light shines on what you judge to be the robot's "head" before that flash and roar of the air, as the ray punches a hole clean through the robot and even burns the ceiling. A crackling, popping sound and the smell of fried electronics as the entire machine seizes up for a moment before toppling over like a statue, a glowing bright molten hole clear through the "head" and even a patch on the ceiling still burning. The floor shakes and cracks from the robot's weight as you stare in disbelief from the downed machine to the little gun in your hand. As much disbelief as the gathered gansters as well, that is before the one points you out as the cause for their friend's injury, and you pretty much get dogpiled by several of the women. "This'm the one, the girl we after?""Chel say'm the girl had killer light gun. Some one go to Vicky and say."As several of them try to figure out what to do with their injured friend, several others try to figure out what to do about the downed robot, and several others try to figure out what to do with you there's some yelled discussion from them over the sounds of combat coming from the nearby stairwell. Unfortunately though it seems they've caught you, though it did cost them that machine...>What do you do?
>>3403211keep shooting at them and call for help, try to struggle free and go up the stairs, without their robot their are in a bad spot
>>3403211Call the scouts nearby, toncome and help us, tell them to back off and shoot anyone that gets near, we don't want to do it but we will
>>3403220>>3403223You got the shot successfully, but they've caught you. Obviously the gun being the first thing they went for.Maybe if you have a clever idea you could maybe slip them, although you do have two grown women grabbing hold of you. But you won't be getting the gun back so easily as one is holding and examining it.
>>3403230step on one's foot and bit the hand of the one with the gun, try to take it from her while she strugles to get our mouth away from her hand, it's our life ticketwe gotta do this quickly while they are worried about wounded and robots
>>3403241Sure, let's try, it's imperative that we get that gun back, or at least pull a piece of it off so they can't use it
>>3403241Ok, brat from a 90's movie manuever might work.>>3403244This is the thing, hardbody showed us a lot about the gun, maybe we can pull the batery out if we can't take the whole gun from her.If we manage to slip away with it, run for the stairs.
>>3403248>>3403244>>3403241Already slipping out of their control will be a feat, but the woman who took the gun is standing a few paces away already. To gain that freedom and then use it to try and get the gun from her is pretty unlikely. Now if you want to just try and free yourself and then make a break for it that's possible. Or as someone cleverly and accurately said, you are familiar enough with the laser pistol to be able to deactivate it even if you can't steal it back outright. But the chances of being caught again in going for the woman with the gun, at least long enough to render it useless, are pretty certain. So a choice to make it seems, whether you value your freedom more or the gangsters having use of the laser pistol.
>>3403263I prefer to disable the gun, that thing will kill a lot of people in their hands, and be pretty useless if they don't have it.besides, we have a robot now and they don't, and the gerrilla scouts are still down here I imagine, maybe they can help us now that we disabled that robot
>>3403263Go for the gun, if they have it they will massacre everyone until the batery runs out.
>>3403265+1
>>3403271>>3403267>>3403265Throwing a fit then, furiously struggling, kicking and biting, you manage to break free of the women holding you and make a mad dash for the one standing aside. You make a jump and collide with her, though not knocking her down you try to climb up and grab for her arm, where you're only barely able to disconnect the power cell from the laser pistol before the woman throws you off her to the floor and plants a knee against your back to keep you down while the other two now upset close in.You get roughed up for your troubles, a kick to the side and some slaps after which they pull you around by your hair, and they bother to keep a much better hold on you. But, at least they won't be able to use the pistol against anyone you know or care about. In any case you hope to be able to rely on the other women of the tribe like Chaya down here to help you, and while they do make a couple attempts to attack and get you back (Chaya herself must have told them about you), there's too many gang members here now as they make a retreat with you towards the stairwell. Not wanting to leave construction robot you notice, but eventually just giving up on it after all of them together wouldn't be able to move it."Heya, there the girl!"Sure enough, after getting dragged down a flight via the nearest stairwell (and getting a glimpse of the combat as several gang members trade gunshots with scavengers through an open doorway up a floor), there's more gang members waiting but particular is one of the raiders you originally encountered. The one that shoved you in the fridge, she holds your hair out of your face and with a satisfied grin lets the others know that you're a match. Though she must not be that important herself because she continues on up to take part in the fight. For how much longer it will go on though is unclear because with you in their custody as they drag your feet kicking down the stairs, you hear shouts to withdraw and stop the fighting.A running retreat at least, as they hurry down the seemingly endless stairs carrying you all the way, and the scavengers eventually must become aware of it because you can hear distant calls and the combat continuing its way down after you as the gang members progressively retreat. After who knows how long the stairwell is exited into a surprisingly nice ground floor lobby (not that you know it's the ground), and your kidnappers are prepared to make their final retreat it would seem when you hear a rapid succession of yells, screams and gunshots before the stairwell door is smashed off the frame by Hardbody. Wielding a baton and a pistol, the robot looks pretty damaged but (notably) non-lethally dispatches a few of the gang members.
You'd take it as hope, but there ends up being a standoff of sorts; the robot tries to search for you but seems unaware of where you are and the longer this goes on, the more gang members catch up in the overall retreat. Hardbody is clearly able to take on several humans at once, but it's already taken a beating by the look of things and how many gang members can it fight off at once as more arrive?>What do you do?
>>3403321take out our jammeryell to him that we are herepoint to the one with the pistol, is she the one dragging us?, if he takes her out get the pistol back
>>3403334The one with the pistol, you don't know where she currently is, since she had stayed behind with it (with the likely intention of using it) to help in the fight and perhaps cover the retreat. She's not here among your immediate kidnappers though.
>>3403337well, she probably got taken out if she was hoping to use that kekbut again, disable or take out the jammer, it's what's preventing hardbody to find us
>>3403334Well remembered anon, turn off the jammer and scream for hardbody to help us, rush to him if we are free and start climbing up again
>>3403334SupportIf they could grab one of those non-lethal take down to interrogate later and learn why they are after us it would be good, maybe even that bitch from the fridge.
>>3403337if hardbody manages to save us and drag us up we can ask him to be on the lookout for it on the way up, he can probably identify a weapon very easily with his sensors being a cop-bot
>>3403337Make as much noise as possible, if they try to cover our mouth bite and yell. Be as hard to handle as possible.
>>3403359>>3403344>>3403340>>3403362>>3403384You don't have enough a chance to free yourself, however you can at least reach to take the jammer out and toss it aside, not moments after which the robot clocks you and makes its move. Shooting feet with the gun or severely beating down with a club, Hardbody manages to make its way to your captors quickly. Taking some damage along the way, but freeing you nonetheless with a well-placed mechanical punch or two."Go'm back now, us all!""Affirmative."Landing on the floor then, you make a break for the stairwell intent on rushing back up the stairs as fast as you can, but you stop to turn back once inside when you hear the strain and struggle of mechanical parts."No so fast little girl."One of the women from the other stairwell and emerging into the lobby, she managed to chase after your escape just in time to catch. Not you though, but Hardbody, as the police robot flails and tries various maneuvers to loose or free itself. But the woman grips the robot's head from behind with some kind of old bulky machine arm that doesn't yield to even the occasional strong strike from one of the robot's limbs in an attempt to free itself. "Do not stop Alexa, return to your people.""You'm break my robot, how you feel I break you robot?"The hydraulics of her arm groan but the solid metal fingers clamp down nevertheless and begin to buckle and compress Hardbody's head. Both its movements and speech grow more sporadic before starting to become indistinct and uncertain."Attention citizen, I am obligated to inform you that the damaging or destruction of police prop- errrrrthht tththsuu fhuuhf #@&% $@%!!# ^!^#& RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-" the robot starts flailing about wildly now without any sense to its movement."How more? Not much I think. Go on Alexa, no stop! Return you people."She struggles a little more now that the robot flails about but she shows no difficulty of crushing its head the rest of the way, merely waiting for a reaction from you. You don't have a lot of time to act though, as those gang members the robot beat to the floor, are lucky enough not to have been shot in the foot so some are regaining their composure enough to struggle for their feet and likely try to catch you again.>What do you do?
>>3403386Did hardbody drop it's gun? Shoot at the woman with the clampIf he didn't we have to run up the stairs and find the rest of the girls, they are probably coming down and tell them to help hardbody
>>3403398It did, but by its feet when it was grabbed from behind.
>>3403401Is it near us then? Can we grab and shoot at her in an attempt to free him?
>>3403404If we can shoot at her to prevent her from smashing his head and then run upstairs to get help
>>3403404No you're in the stairwell, the dropped gun is back about the middle of the lobby where she and the robot are. You'd have to run back and approach her to get it on the floor.
>>3403410And there isn't any of our allies around too?, maybe a dropped weapon from a dead or wounded raider around here? We need to shoot the bitch. But if there is nothing around we really have no hope, unarmed and without backup there's nothing we can do, I don't know what that woman is waiting
>>3403418You can assume there is help on the way, it's just not here at the moment. Though whether you want that help running into the reorganizing gang members down here is your call. As for others there are no dead gang members around however you could probably steal one off one of those that was shot, if you can figure out how to work a normal gun. Probably not that hard though all things considered. You don't have no hope, but it's a pretty risky situation with not much time. You can ask her why she's waiting if you're confused, she expects you to surrender in exchange for the robot. Else she'll just crush it if you flee. Or so she claims.
>>3403423These fucking whores. And the faggots who rolled 4 and 5.
>>3403423Fucking run. Keep our eye out for any guns on the way back.
>>3403430The 4/5 had nothing to do with it, it was the action to essentially charge a whole group of them to get a shot at the robot. Even the 76 wasn't enough to pull that off and escape scott-free.
>>3403434In any case I think this will be a good place to call things for now. Will resume again tomorrow from here, a more normal time too.In the meantime, thanks all for playing! And as always, open to answering questions and what have you.
>>3403423I'd say we run away from the situation. While a robot is useful, it won't be if we're caught. Can buy one later if we can actually escape

Rolled 44 (1d100)>>3403882yeah, get the gun from one of the girls that got shot, shoot the one with hardbody and then run up the stairs
Hey all, just a heads up but we may start a little later since I may be having an earlier dinner, but will be running nevertheless when I'm back.>>3403686>84Indeed you would be able to get a gun from one of the gang members shot and still struggling on the ground.
Got a chance to post a little in the meantime lol>>3404294>>3404237>>3403882>>3403686>>3403639>84Caught in a fight or flight decision between the fate of Hardbody and the stairwell, your eyes dart around and your mind races in a panic of what to do. In a snap decision then, you make a dash for the nearest gang member that was shot in the foot to pick up her own gun. Unsteadily and without the time to figure out how to properly use it, you try your best to aim for the woman and squeeze the trigger."Aaagh!""Aaagh!"A burst of fire, the ear-pierce of gunshots, the rattle of bullets against metal and whatever else, and the kick of the recoil which you weren't prepared for. You're not if you hit her all that well since it threw off your aim, but both you and her lose control. She recoils from your shooting and drops the robot flailing about on the ground, and you lose grip of the gun from your shaky hands. But you managed to stop her from destroying the robot... you think? Hardbody doesn't get up, but also isn't motionless, as you clamor to your own feet and kick off the injured woman. You hear calls for you to stop but you don't look back for anyone to catch you as you rush for the stairwell and hurry your way up. Sounds of clamor as people descend from above and you're pursued from below, but with your lungs straining and your heart hammering in your chest, you round a corner of the stairs and into the familiar arms of Grace with several others of the tribe beside her and more still on their way down. "Gotcha! Come now!"Picking you up and hugging you close, she in turn rushes up the stairs carrying you while the others remain behind and exchange fire with the gang members trying to get up again. That ends up being left behind before long, till eventually you're brought to the main communal floors towards the top of the building again. "Run away?! What is?!""Make big trouble, what for fighting?!"A lot of yelling over your sake, but Grace doesn't back down and tells them to give space. The important thing is they have you back again, and they can yell about it all they like later. Though she intends to set you down and get back to the fight herself, after all that happened till now you find yourself gripping her with everything you have and not wanting to let go. Not let anyone see your tears as you bury your face in her arms.To this, she sighs and takes a seat with you off to the side, holding you in her arms over the distance (but waning) sounds of combat.>What do you do?
>>3404871I didn't want any to get hurt, want to kill robot so no trouble for us, I can help, I don't want to watch everyone do everything
>>3404871Tell Grace that Hardbody saved us and is down there very hurt, they probably can't drag him since they have a lot of foot injuried members to carry and he is heavy af but we would like her to send girls to get him back.Tell her we are sorry but we needed to help, too much people got hurt because of us.
>>3404871Ask her if we wonAsk if we hurting the robot helpedAnd tell her one of the wnemies took our pistol, but she didn't go down so the weapon is probably in the stairs, we wpuld like that back if she can help us finding it.>>3404925This too, we will have to find a way to houl hardbody up
>>3404969Also let them know we disabled our laser.>>3404871
>>3405029>>3404969>>3404925>>3404911You're not sure how long it actually takes, but by about midday when the sun is on high, it seems to you that the fighting has more or less concluded. In that time since you saw injured people come and go, saw a lot of yelling over your sake, and finally were alright to let go of Grace when one of Joan's daughters approached to want to check on her for an arm injury. Though without her there, there's no one to stand up for you as you get yanked by the neck and tossed in a room. It seems some aren't happy with you at all, and the stunt you pulled."Can to help! No want other all hurt for me!""You'm just only all fight for! You fight, other hurt for none!"You've Aliyah to watch over you now full time, and some of the other women between various other duties post-combat, are in and out to see you. Some to check and see you're alright or others like Chaya to thank you, but some quite angry. The idea that they're putting their necks on the line for you, when you'd just go and risk it all by getting involved anyway. And to think if you'd gotten hurt or killed... they see you as ungrateful, even if you don't feel that way. You do at least try to let some of them know about Hardbody and particularly you let Grace know about your pistol. By afternoon you end up learning though, that Hardbody was destroyed by the time they got to it, and no sign of your pistol (though they'll keep looking). Some way to end the battle for sure, and you feel confident in your contribution about taking out the construction robot, which as it turns out is still lying just a couple floors below you. And no deaths in the fight, on either side! Which... seems rather strange to you, but you're not going to be upset that no one died over your sake of course. It seems the only proper casualties of the combat were the two robots of either side.As much as you'd like to keep helping out with the aftermath though, there's a prevailing opinion that you're in deep trouble and should suffer a punishment for it like being kept locked in a room. If they can't trust you, then they don't want to put their lives on the line. Despite it, you can't help feel frustrated, upset since all you wanted to do and did was help. Apparently you merely staying alive is more valuable them than to any contribution you could have.>What do you do?

She's of course amazed by your will to get things done, though when eventually Joan comes to visit and check on you for any injuries, you can ask her to see some others.---You suppose it's as much a chance for them to set things straight with you, as you imagine towards them. But by evening time there's an audience gathered of familiar faces that you're taken to, one of the higher up floors in what was probably once a fancy room. Although there's a big table for the room, Maria figures it would be easier for your sake if everyone gathers to git together on the floor. Less like you're on trial with the adults all sitting at some table to watch you.In any case you can bring up your frustrations with them. Like how you don't enjoy being further and further imprisoned, and how you don't like them all risking their lives for your sake. Especially when you want to help, and can't even understand the point, considering the value they seem to hold with you is not being realized in any way you're aware."No'm see? Only mans in ever, if die... what's no other ever?""It may be hard to understand Alexa, but you're more important than the whole tribe. We love you and we care about you, but you're important for people... for humans everywhere. If anything happens to you now, after enough time there may not be any people left." Joan adds in her perspective, always thinking about the world at large, "If one of us goes out scavenging and gets hurt... dies, even, it's a sad thing. Everyone would be upset but it wouldn't mean the whole tribe goes extinct... goes away. If you go out and get hurt though, think of everyone, all the people everywhere going extinct... going away. It's not fair for you, none of us want this for you, but it's the way things are."She's right, it's not fair, and you have a hard time excepting it. Joan has this idea about you saving humanity, the eldest of the tribe have this idea of you bringing great wealth and power (perhaps the greatest in the world) to the the tribe, and everyone has this idea of you at least helping to make more people... maybe even bring back other men once more. To think that no one would have to risk their lives and give everything they have to some place like the Red Cross in order for there to always be some more people. But no one seems to care what you want. Whether you're the last man alive or not, your wishes and your freedom are more important to you than whatever plans they might have for you. Right? It's your life to live, not theirs to live for you. They expect you to shoulder all this responsibility for everyone, but what if you don't want to?
>What do you do? In this case, you can make an effort to try and make your request(s) of them of what you want, with a roll to see how well you can present your case to them. Whether it's your own desires you make clear, or just how you'd rather your living conditions among the tribe were, is up to you to say. Or something else entirely, if you wish.

You can though try to make your request based on how you feel, at least what you feel are some unjust circumstances. And fairly so, a particular case of yours about being prepared and as knowledgeable and rounded a person as any of them. You get the impression that they had never intended for you to do anything other than provide them and others with extra lives while effectively imprisoned, but as valuable as you are to them they can't in any of their consciences deny you the right to grow and develop as a person. Though none of them like the idea of you getting into any danger or risks at all, they can tolerate you at least not being so restricted perhaps here at home. Though, they don't plan on relenting over your sleeping arrangements, those are for your own safety. But if you have an idea of lessening how much you stand out, none of them can really argue with that. Also perhaps most important of all is your desire to leave notification for mother as to your fate. Something which you'd brought up to Kim before but now can make clear to all the gathered adults here. Once more, they can't really deny you that considering you willingly gave up living in your shelter and on your own enough to trust them and come live here. They're not yet sure of how feasible it will be after the trouble with the gang, but they make clear their intent to get you back to your shelter (especially when to explain that it's not so far away) and to be able to leave some form of notification with mother. So, maybe not the total freedom you'd hoped for, but you can make a case to not be made a complete prisoner as you'd dreaded. After the conflict in particular. You get an affirmation from most of the adults that at the end of the day they care about you and your own wellbeing more than anything, they just hope that you can come to understand the importance you have not just to them but all people. And understanding that, why it is they have such worries about you and a want of keeping you as safe as possible as that would have meant basically locked away safely in a room.Imagine what sort of guilt that would be to shoulder, humanities last hope in their care, and something as petty as you slipping and falling to your death while exploring? To fail so direly, a collective shame upon the tribe.>What do you do? It seems you can reach something of an understanding with the adults, though if there was anything else particular you had in mind you can express it. Otherwise they'll have Aliyah take you back downstairs and... let you enjoy more freedoms again, after this mess with the gang.
>>3405755Tell them that we would like to help repair Hard Body, or even the other robot. Hard Body saved us downstairs and if the adults that are experts in eletronics will help we would like to help too.Maybe use our money to trade for replacemebt parts for both of them.Let's tell our friends the good news that we are not that fucked
>>3405779Sure. Also tell them we just want to learn, to be useful, and do something besides making extra lives since right now we don’t have any idea how. Hardbody has an idea but he’s dead.
>>3405779We should also definitely try to get these people to learn how to grow food. Tell them how the roof of the next building had plants growing. More food means we ourselves get better nutrition.
>>3405755>>3405779agreedask to talk with Joan after the meeting and explain what we figured out but didn't tell her before, it's time to get more people so we are not the only one and then we can go out
>>3405779Well the thing is they're experts with consumer electronics. Robotics is different, unfamiliar territory for them. That said, the value of your account though to obtain, well whatever really, can't be denied. You can certainly ask at least, and while they do seem intent on repairing Hardbody and perhaps even the construction robot, according to them it would probably cause more harm than good unless a proper roboticist did the work. Which would mean seeking contact with some place called the "Co-ned".>>3405786>>3405784If you have some particular work in mind that you would like you can request it, otherwise they'll find something for you to be able to do. Like growing things, if you want that job.>>3405790You can talk with Joan sure enough about what you had wanted to before, and confirm your findings. Is that merely an exchange of information intent though, or a willingness to try and figure this out finally?
>>3405884we can either get a job growing things so we can visit the other building, or a job fixing things where we can start putting together our flying drone, I guess we can start with the drone and then move to the other> willingness to try and figure this out finallyit's time, the more we delay the more risk of never having new people
>>3405884We can go to "Co-ned" when we leave to go to our shelter later, meanwhile, figure things out with Joan.
>>3405884Obviously as the last man alive our job should be pimpin and turning bitches out. But then again is our guy even old enough to do that?
>>3405893That can be a choice then, player choice preference if you want to come to an agreement. At the very least, they don't seem opposed to the idea of you being at the other building for as risky as it may be, if for no other reason than that it keeps you tied to one place. They prefer that, to you wanting to wander and sneaking around or going places you shouldn't. Though, it does entail some notion of possibly incorporating the other building. The tribe has always resided in this building and they aren't about to abandon it. But to possibly expand to the next building over, across the gap? Something people have considered before but never really tried, and a bold idea, though how feasible so soon after this conflict that just transpired...
>>3405906>>3405900After that meeting then, you appreciate your chance at some greater freedom, and first and foremost go to meet with your other friends to let them know you're alright. And most importantly of course to go get Daisy back. While the tribe has a celebratory dinner for the victory over the gang though and most everyone is having a good time and even some partying, you can go see Joan, recalling your want to meet with her before the attack."Ah, that makes sense. At least it explains some diagrams in my books, why the man never has a chest like the woman does. If you think that is the case then, how do you want to go about this?"Obviously Joan can't be at the party with so many injured to attend to after the conflict, but she's always willing to afford you her attention and time while her daughters take care of patients in her stead. You explain to her your conclusion that you guessed from Hardbody's information, helping her to piece things into place in her mind. Your combined knowledge then leads to something of a belief about the whole process and what needs to happen. Whether it's accurate or will work remains to be seen, but having reached this point Joan asks the obvious question then."I would expect that those who had priority... were next, to get an extra life from the Red Cross, would be first. But it seems fair if you're helping that you would get to choose, if you care."Well, the question of who gets an extra life, if you are to try Joan's experiment as she calls it. If you're to do what needs to be done, what the two of you have come to think needs to be done, in order to create a new person. A question you may care about as much as anyone, though now asked and that you actually come to think of it... how sure are you? There's a responsibility that you have, but to who? Everyone expects you to do your job as though it's a given, but do you want to? In your time outside, you've seen the world as it is. A big enough shock from what you'd expected or hoped form inside your shelter, but things only seem worse the longer you experience it. This conflict in particular, is more and more harrowing the more you think about it. If this struggle, this meager living in a ruined world is all humanity has left, is it worth saving? At the end of it all it's your choice to make, only yours, and it's not a responsibility you like or want. Too much for a child. But you're not too young to form your own opinions on the matter.Maybe not to the existential depth as this, but certainly at least, looking at the big picture and wondering if it's all worth it. Or if it is, why should it be to the benefit of anyone other than yourself?>What do you do?
>>3405952Are we even old enough to get a boner?
>>3405952Does humanity deserve it? No probably not, we saw the pictures, the world was beautiful , and humans ruined it...maybe what we are doing is delaying the inevitable but... If it can help bring that back, cleand this up, if the answer is that more resources can go to growing and improving instead of just making new lives to keep a population going, then we have to at least tryAs for our benefit, first and foremost is the possibility of not being unique anymore and fights like the one that happened to not break out again, with the added bonus of helping our friends out and possibly getting many gifts and thanks. As to who we would like to give a new life, the first answer would be Jess as she's the one closest to Alexa, but if she cannot have one we could give it to Kim.
>>3405952Just a heads up, this will probably be my last post of the night then, we'll continue here tomorrow ideally around a more normal time.Till then, thanks all for playing! And in the meantime if you have any questions or things that don't seem clear, feel free to ask and I'll answer if I can.
>>3405952We still have time to formulate our opinion. Is it even possible to salvage the world? Ask around, are the adukts and kids happy with their lives? Particularly if overall they're happy, but feel sad often? Those questions are important to me to come to a decision.>>3406025Thanks for running!
>>3405948For the job I say we start with fixing electronics and learning on how to assemble our drone, that thing will be fun, and useful]>>3405952Well, this is a tough one.I think we want to help, they seem to think this is important, and honestly, we think too, it seems that letting it all die will make many people sad, and we learned that there is happiness to be found here, with more people, and not alone somewhereas for what we have to gain, the more we show that we do our part, the more we will be allowed to do, if these people are so intent on helping us and keeping us safe we can help them in their predicament too.The world deserves another chance, and we are the only chance that has ever appeared like they did a second chance to us after we ran and fought, the world too deserves a chance to heal and get better.as for to who would we give another person,I think Alexa would obviously prefer Jess since they are the closest but we are not sure if that is possible, so maybe Kim or one of our friends, we are not sure if this is going to hurt or something so maybe someone who can handle that.2 questions more for JoanHow do they define who gets priority to get an extra life, who is at the top right now? Why did she leave the Red Cross, why did she tell us that they don't help people anymore, are they bad now? she never explained that.
> We will do lots of trial and error making Gadgets and learning from them, without Hardbody or a Roboteer to teach, we must be our own teacher with supplemental skills taught by those tech fixers here.> We will help make more Lives but not at our own expense, we still intend to go to the other Building for Food, Salvage, Spare Parts, Restoration, Weapons and Robots!> We will plan our escape too! They can have some lives but we will be prepping a "Go Bag" for if we need to leave in a hurry, we will learn more weapons, we will make our Drone/Backpack Flight gear, they will know it is a Drone but not that it is a vehicle.... It is powerful in case of heavy salvage is all they need to know.> we should get our Tablet back as it is ours, we will use it to learn from the Lift A.I. maybe we can learn how to make it only usable by us and not others.> If we get very desperate we can live in ghe Resteraunt back rooms with the Jammer Cloak active, the Robots will kill any who try to get in but be unable to see or sense us.> We will try to use Tablet with Hardbody's Brain to see if he can live on it and keep teaching us.> We must insist we learn more of Tech and do experiments to get better including helping fix the Robots and getting a Roboteer to teach us if possible, either here or with a Roboteer elsewhere.
>>3405952Take the job to repair the drone, later Kim can teach us how to operate it.Help them with the extra lives, they help us we help them, it's only fair. I don't know about the rest of the people or all of humanity, but we will help here.
>>3406705If you're going to help with more people, why not help wherever mom is at? Helping with more people is probably going to mean tying yourself down to one place so why the first place to have come to after leaving the shelter? Or at least tying down to where mom is at.
>>3406767Well, I don't think it ties us down, it just means we are helping while we are here.My plan is to go to the shelter to leave a message to mom since we have to wait for her and then get what we need to fix the robots, both will take some time so I guess we can stay, help them with people and pick up some useful skills learning how to deal with eletronics, I still want to look around and I think that soon enough we will be able to do that.

>>3406840We should still learn about why plants grow on that other building and start farming it up with the scavenger tribe.

Ok starting now in just a bit.
Whew, lot of posts here! And this itself was pretty complex to write.>>3407485>>3407407>>3407010>>3406705>>3406461>>3406238>>3406134>>3406015>>3406011You take the time to think about what Joan says, while she affords you her chair. No pressure upon you she intones, but the more you consider things the more your mind starts to wander while you rub Daisy's ears as she lays across your feet. It's all about what everyone else wants, but what about what you want? Little bit by little bit overtime you've given more thought to this whole matter and the world that you've seen, whether it's worth contributing to let alone saving. And supposing you wanted to, is it here in this place, among these people? They put such value in you, and welcome your contribution. Well why can't that contribution be something like your own merits or skills? You think about if you were just another girl, would they afford you as much favor or even as much attention? No, probably not you think. It's not you that they show such kindness and support, not really. It's what's between your legs. They can dress up their intentions with wrapping and a bow, but you're not a person to them, you're a means to an end. Whether those means are selfish or selfless, they still don't consider your feelings or wishes on the matter. With as much importance as they've fed into your head, there's at least been some fleeting imaginings of what your role or position is, not just in the tribe but in the world. If everyone is to be dependent on you to save them, why should you fall beneath them, subject to their rules and commands?Just something to continue to think about, as you're brought back to reality by some rowdy drunken friends of Joan's daughters coming around looking for them. If nothing else, you suppose you do owe these people for everything they've done for you and already paid a heavy price for. Though why your debt to them couldn't be repaid with help and skill and service... if you are to do this then, as long as you are doing it for yourself rather than for them. After all, you don't need them, they need you. "Joan? Who'm next for extra life?" you eventually ask, after she lets her daughters off the hook to join the celebrations."Well it's based on contribution... how much good someone does for the tribe. Based on that, I believe Judy is next, she set the antennas up working again and has never had an extra life." she sits on her desk while pondering the matter for a bit, taking off her glasses to think, "Though I suppose Kim might have upset the order after finding you but then again she did use her favor to earn a place on the council. Also some of the older members of the tribe would be... eager, for any extra lives since people can't have any more lives once they get to a certain age... after many winters."
By the sound of things now it seems more complicated than you'd thought, and here you were just thinking of trying with your friends when it sounds like there's all sorts of considerations normally followed."If we are experimenting... trying to learn how this all works though, I think someone with extra lives already might be a good idea, then we know it could work at least. Maria, has the most lives in the tribe so we know she can." of course she has to throw in her doctor's opinion on the matter, the scientific approach but after considering things a bit she returns to reality a little more and rests a hand on your shoulder before going back to other patients, "That's just how it is in the tribe though Alexa, don't feel like you have to follow those rules. You choose whatever you want. Might I recommend... suggest... say at least though, that you figure out what you need to do first and see if it can happen, before you try with anyone?"Now that you think about it, you're kind of glad she brought that up beforehand. Supposedly the two of you have the idea of what should happen but it's not like you've ever done anything of the sort. It couldn't hurt to make sure beforehand that you're right, before deciding on anything. Worth figuring out as you mull it over, and jostle Daisy to wake her up to go get something to eat, and consider your final decision on the matter. Before you go though, you have one more curiosity on your mind that you'd wanted to ask Joan, and remember to do so before leaving the room."Joan? Why'm leave Red Cross? Is bad place?""Hm? Oh... that?" she speaks up while checking someone's leg for a bullet wound, though the full realization of your question takes a moment for her, "I... suppose it's the same as anywhere, the way the world is now. They have something valuable that everyone wants, everyone needs. A long time ago they helped people for free, but overtime... after many winters they only helped people for trade. Now people, the whole city struggles... works hard to get their help. Some people never get help, they can't afford it. They die, and there's less and less people left. I didn't want to be part of that, didn't want my daughters to be a part of that. And there's many others like me who leave, to find other people to live among and help. We, or I at least think, if humanity is going to be saved it will be this way not by working people to death just to make it to the next generation." something she's probably thought deeply on and spoken about before, speaking without needing to think much about it. Though, when she does take a chance to think about it she chuckles to herself and apologizes for nudging the person's leg carelessly in the process, "Now that you're here though, maybe all of us are wrong about how humanity is going to be saved."She nods as you take your leave, seeking to eat now that there will be less of a feeding frenzy over the victory dinner.
>>3407935>>3407931>What do you do? If you're certain about figuring out this extra life business you can pursue it, otherwise you can better orient towards what role you want to play in the tribe, in this case it seems the majority towards learning how to construct, destruct and repair electronics.
>>3407941The way Joan thinks sits better with me, if people are to be saved, its through the goodness of them, not just because there is something in exchange, or something to gain, like the red cross does.help for help sake, that is a nice though and one we should try to persue.we will try to figure this out, for sure, and try to help those who need, namely those here around us.but first let's do what we told we were going to do during the meeting, and that is, to learn skills and see what we can help with, at the same time, figuring out how to bring new people to the tribe.seek out our friends in the party, it's time for us to relax a little after all this fighting and serious talk, see if we can find Jess and Olivia and tell them of our talk with Joan, and how we want to help the tribe
>>3407967When you say talk with your friends, do you mean your new hopeful role of learning how to repair things, or about the prospects of helping with extra lives?
>>3407967I agree with your general sentiment, but there's one thing I'd like to add, they need us, humanity needs us, while I think we would be happy to help, since there is no real downside, I agree that this puts us in a position to ask for more. For today I agree in seeking Jess and telling her about what we wish to do and help, maybe invite her to our drone repairing project so we can play with it later....funny, she's one of the few that never expects anything from us besides her company, that is nice...Tomorrow we seek Kim and the council and tell them we and Joan have a very good idea of how its done, but first, we are not a thing, not a commodity or a resourse, we are Alexa, daughter or Mother(i guess nobody uses the word son anymore) and we agree to help then make a new life if they agree to treat us like any other girl, giving us service and letting us live the way we think we would enjoy, as tgey do themaelves, we want nothing more than be what we can and what we want.
>>3408009today let's talk about the repairing of things, maybe show the spares we found and see if we can do it together, no more serious talk, especially not with Jess since time with her is the time we enjoy, not that we do stuff for others. We can talk about the extra lives when we put it in motion.
>>3407941Let's enlist for the repair servicesif we do extra lives, it's better with Maria since she already has someAsk around if people are happy like this >>3406134 anon said, ask what makes them happy.
>>3408035You want to try and press them more? After you already have done? A bold move, you'll have to see how that goes.>>3407967>>3408060>>3408078You can set about the learning process then tomorrow and in the coming days (as well as getting a better feel for people and their life prospects in the world now), but for now you won't be able to get much done since everyone is in a celebratory mood. At least though you can seek out Jess and Olivia and spend some quality time together for the rest of the night. In particular they get a special kick out of hearing your sit down with some of the adults and how you tried to call some of the shots and actually got your way some. They expect the older girls would take huge liking to you after that if they found out.Of particular note that the more you explain to Olivia, the more she starts scheming over ideas of how you could use your position to get more and more power around here. Primarily for your sake of course, though she expects as friends it would benefit her too. Jess meanwhile is just more curious about who you intend on giving an extra life to, and what that's supposed to entail. She worries because the most common method of losing people isn't to conflict or accidents, the primary killer are the clouds and poisoning but the next closest is mutation, which comes from having extra lives.Either way though, unless there was anything else particular you had in mind to take care of tonight, you can call it for now and then get underway tomorrow considering you'll be busy.
>>3408197go to sleep and seek Jess to start repairing our drone, she can show us to the appropriate adults
>>3408197Go to sleepreport to our job after breakfast
>>3408197Remind Jess that this is new people, not extra lives, so we don't know if the risk is there. Ask her who she thinks we should try to do it with. Then >>3408220
>>3408220+1
>>3408260>>3408250>>3408220Your conversation does bring up an important issue, because of a fundamental misunderstanding of how people are born. Since as long as anyone can remember and indeed for generations, it's been the belief that people were all the same and that they merely got extra lives of their own by ingesting some miraculous substance from the hospital. Hence why mothers and daughters share the same names, the belief that they're all the same original "person" just duplicating over and over. Without men around and knowledge of them lost, reproduction has been believed instead to essentially be cloning. The idea instead that a person could be a combination of two people, is an alien concept to most everyone so unfortunately Jess and Olivia too have a hard time understanding the concept. To an extent even, you do as well since you've no personal experience with the whole process. In any case Jess thinks why not try with someone outside of the tribe in case anything goes wrong, while Olivia wonders why not Joan herself, the doctor with experience on this and able to learn from it the most. Just some things to consider, you'd thought perhaps either of them in fact but hearing Jess talk about the process apparently hurting and also the worry of something going wrong with them like mutation, has given you second thoughts even if perhaps you'd probably be able to get through with it the most easily with your friends for as comfortable as you are with them.Either way Jess still wants to try and meet with the older girls and party some, Olivia hearing of your experience there as well and wanting to see what it's like. After such a long and trying day though you'd prefer the chance to sleep so you bid them goodnight, and after walking Daisy around some and appreciating the night view of the city (and a remarkably clear one at that) you return to your room for a good night's rest. ~~~Where's Daisy? It's dim in your room. You stir in bed but notice a lack of your dog.She didn't fall to the floor or move down to your feet. Were's Daisee? The door to your room is open.Maybe she wandered outside? You get out of bed, set your feet to the patchy old carpet.Weres Daysee? You call out for her.Beyond the doorway though are the clouds, swirling and luminous.Did she go off into the clouds?Wes Day See?>What do you do?
>>3408328Scream Daisy! call out to her, remain away from the clouds, look around the room for some place else to look for.I know!the secret passage, maybe she went there
>>3408353Let's try it
>>3408353>>3408378Did she go into the clouds?"Daisy! Herr!"What if she isn't in the clouds? She always hides under furniture.Under the bed maybe?"Daay! Hrr!"You climb under yourself towards the back.Fighting to pull up the carpet and the trapdoor beneath it.Falling down into the crawl space to look around."Daaaaa! Hhhhhhh!"There's not much light down here but you do your best to see.A reflection, a shine, off something wet.Mother, peeling her skin off with a shard of glass and the shine off the blood."DDDHHH!"You scream but can't hear it.She crawls towards you with bloody eyes and red hands. Before she reaches you a mechanical arm reaches down and pulls you out of the crawlspace.~~~You awake with a yell, causing Daisy to roll off the bed. Struggling out of the covers and to the floor yourself in a half-awake state, you console the old dog from the fall. Breathing heavy, sweating, a ringing in your ears fading with time.Your room is the same as always, the door is closed but probably no clouds outside... though you daren't look under your bed.The start of a new day.>What do you do?
>>3408412Holy shit mom, I knew you were a psycho but fuck! Also,Before she reaches you a mechanical arm reaches down and pulls you out of the crawlspace.Hardbody saving us even in dreamsLet's find Jess and start assembling our drone, take some time to breathe, that was a very bad dream
>>3408412fucking hell, mother is a muttie isn't she?>>3408440this, tell her about our dream before breakfast to try and calm ourselves.who is responsible for repairs? let's find them and start working on the drone
>>3408412Look around for mom. She clearly needs our help if she’s bleeding.
>>3408440>>3408447I don’t think she’s a mutant or a psycho. It’s just a nightmare on our part. The only reason mom had those rules and paranoia is because she realizes we are the last man alive and wanted to keep us safe and protected.
>>3408457I know its a nightmare but mom was a psycho, she thought a good past time for her was playing Russian roulette remember? And then she thought us how to do that knife in hand game, she was not the most stable of personsAfter we work on the drone we can ask Kim when are we going to the shelter tho.

>>3408440It wasn't Hardbody's arm.>>3408465>>3408457>>3408453>>3408447>>3408440Against your fears, you brave crawling under the bed with Daisy to follow crawling after you. Like reliving the dream you hesitantly pull up the carpet and look into the crawlspace but there's no sign of anyone or anything down there.Strange."Bad sleep? Come from big fight yester, no is bad now."Over breakfast you seek out Kim, both to ask about some requests of yours but naturally she notices you upset and sits down to talk with you about the nightmare. She must be right, you've never faced actual combat in your life before so to have been suddenly immersed into a battle was highly traumatic and the nightmare is only one result of that. Though Kim does sympathize she doesn't seem to hold the conflict in such dire regard as you do, nor does anyone for that matter. They kind of trivialize it almost like it was a game, and you wonder if the lack of deaths has anything to do with it. Or indeed, the lack of... really any injuries, at least serious ones. You notice people walking around today seemingly fine whom yesterday you saw either stabbed or even shot, grievously wounded at the time by apparently healthy come today.Because of this lighthearted view of the conflict though, the good news is that there doesn't seem like there will be any long period of recovery for the tribe. Kim suggests giving it a couple days for everyone to fully recover and get used to normalcy again, but after that coming off the combat some of them are already in the mindset and preparation to go venturing out again. Maybe a little revenge strike against the gang but certainly to help you with your request. The last order of business as you finish up eating and listen to what's being said, Kim says you'll be shadowing one of the adults and to follow and learn from her. If you have a preference for what sort of electronics you're most interested in you can specify, otherwise they'll just find someone who you can get along with and won't mind mentoring a kid.>Have you a preference? With this request in mind then, Kim takes you a ways across the communal floor to one of the workshops where once most people have gotten breakfast, some filter into the large room (with scrap electronics all over the place) and pick up on working where they'd assumedly left off. "Mia, ok Alexa help'm learn?""Hiya Alexa! Like go-gos?"With a worktable all to herself cluttered with various remote control toys (in particular an RC car she's testing out and lets you try), Kim introduces you to Mia, a friendly and playful young woman suited to work with electronics of this type compared to some of the other women who handle more practical devices. Usually this kind of technical work you've noticed has been up to women of the tribe some years older than her after they've gained experience and skill with electronics, but a mechanical leg may have something to do with her place here.In any case Kim explains the situation which Mia doesn't mind since she already spends much of her effort making things for the children so working with one who's as interested as she is, is a nice change of pace. Leaving the two of you together with the intent to periodically check back, you get the chance to know one another better over the chance to take a look at the drone parts you collected, which Mia is only too happy to drop everything else in favor of helping you with your device.Without any other particulars in mind then, if you're happy to keep this trend up, then you can continue to work with and learn from Mia ongoing. Considering that, for her this is a job and for you it's like an apprenticeship, so it can become your new regular routine till you choose otherwise.>What do you do?
>>3408725Putting our newfound freedom to test, invite ani friend we find to go to the lower levels Grace works and rhen get into the secret entrance like we did when we discovered we were different
>>3408725So this means we can spend a portion of each day building up the skill? I say we put it in our routine. After we are done with the work for the day, talk with Joan, after speaking with Jess and learning about the dangers it may have I think it's better she picks someone that she thinks will have less risks, now that she has a general idea about how it is tell her she can call us if she thinks of something to ezperiment or try.
>>3408725Grab some moneybwith Kim, tell her we want to go to the next building.Go there and ask for some food for whoever is with us with our friends came and the adults escorting us. Then let's test the jammer and try to get in those locked secure doors, use our tools to open them
I still wonder how in all that fighting nobody died on either side. Except hardbody and the enemy robot.
>>3408997Yes, that's the idea unless you'd like to actually go through with it intently. Same with any skill you can improve overtime.>>3409337You tossed the jammer away down in the lobby so that Hardbody would be able to see you, remember? Like the laser pistol it wasn't found afterward by anyone of the tribe.>>3409806>>3409337>>3408786>>3408997You have a desire to better figure out what Jess said about the dangers of extra lives. You can see to that later though you figure. For now, come time after the midday meal you ask Mia for a break since you've been working most of the morning together. She doesn't mind, and hoping to test your potential newfound freedom you seek out anyone you can and find the Maria around your age who'd be fine to go exploring with you, since she sat out last time and wants to make up for it.And sure enough to your satisfaction, none of the adults act to prevent you from leaving the main communal floors to go down to the lower levels, and the adults down there just regard you with greetings. You do have to sneak away in order to actually go exploring as, going to the lower inhabited floors is not the same as going to the dangerous floors even below that, but it's not so hard once you're among the ruined floors of the skyscraper. "So scary! Can no?""No bad, just only look at wall."It takes a lot of courage on Maria's part to climb down the elevator shaft with you but you do your best to encourage and help her, and eventually the two of you make it down several floors past where the tribe had set up the stairwell barricades and now onto the uninhabited floors. Same as last time, generally in a wrecked state but since people don't ever really come here there's plenty of old things left around like rooms still being furnished even if it's been many years left to decay. As the two of you trapise over the ruined remains of the old world, Maria clings to you closely but you're free together to go where you please. Keeping eyes out for the clouds of course.>What do you do?
>>3409913Let's look for interesting things, personal higine, new clothes, maybe a knife or another type of weapon, some kind of food, whatever we can find in this old part that has not being disturbed much, keep maria close to us at all times

Rolled 23 (1d100)>>3409930+1
Rolled 2 (1d100)
Rolled 17 (1d100)>>3409930Lookin for a suit of fallout or maybe 40k power armor in our size
>>3410154This is, or was a residential building so finding power armor is basically zero chance.>>3410154>>3410086>>3410020>>3409953>>3409945>66You can spend a couple hours then with Maria, searching around the remains of the world before, prodding the leftovers of people's lives. You know that Olivia and probably some other girls come down here sometimes to explore so it's not as ripe for scavenging as lower in the building, but you can still turn up some various things. A bag of toiletries here, drawers of old clothes there, Daisy isn't able to turn up any food (and it's not as though it would have lasted this much time) but between the two of you there's an arms' worth of simple goods each. Getting up the ladder though will be a challenge."What you home is? Fore this.""No big, just only some room. Is clean, safe."You spend awhile with Maria sitting on an old bed, looking out the window at the city while she shows Daisy some affection. You talk about this and that though she does want to know about your shelter you came from, as you get to talking and thinking about it. The sooner you can leave with Kim or anyone to escort you, the better so you can leave something for mother. After that though, you're... not sure. You can only hope that she returns and finds you, but what if she never does? Would you have to go looking for her? At least you have some idea of where she went off to...In any case though, best not to get too worked up over it. This was a nice chance with Maria to test your freedom which thankfully seems to be mostly returned.>What do you do?
>>3410297Especially power armor in child size.
>>3410297Ask them if Hardbody can be fixed.
>>3410309Both Hardbody and the construction robot, as you know from before it would take a robot specialist to repair if possible, and none of the tribe here are skilled in actual robotics.
>>3410297Get back up, they might get worried, take with ud the toiletries, maybe a perfume if we found one, and a new set of clothes if it fits.Whem we are back up there find the rest of the kids gang, see what they are up too. Let's convince an adult to take us to the other building so we can show them the green stuff and maybe make plans to cultivate something there, with the appropriate adult, since we are the only ones that can take people there through the elevator.
>>3410327If we can go there I support, if we can't let's see if anyone can teach us how to fight, time for awkward wrestling
>>3410327>>3410355Well by the time you return upstairs it's already afternoon so it'd be too late to travel over to the other building and then back again. Tomorrow though should be fine. After a struggle of climbing back up to the main floors having to account for both Daisy and the scavenged goods (while climbing a ladder), you can take everything you found to your room and then look for some others together. No sign of your friends but Maria is able to find hers, some of the girls your age or younger. They're busy play-fighting in a reenactment of the conflict that took place yesterday, though using some actual crude weapons alarmingly. "Safe to?""Mhmm, growups say for grow tough."If you like you can get involved in the play fight, though how seriously you take it is up to you. Or, how keen you are on winning. Something fun to do at least till dinner, then whatever else you care to after that.
>>3410389Hell yeah fight good
>>3410389we fight to win but not to hurt, one thing specially we want to train is to try to get away when people grab us, everybody seems to want to grab us
>>3410419You trying not to hurt but they're trying to hurt you! You can practice grappling for sure and avoiding it, but how much value it will have when your biggest threats are adults, is questionable. You're about as strong as the girls your age so it puts in a fighting position, but the danger you've had is from grown people obviously very much stronger than you are. In terms of just general weapon practice and fighting though this is a good chance at least, familiarizing yourself with weapon handling will help against a child or an adult regardless.
>>3410440ok, let's take the fighting somewhat serious.try to tackle some to the ground and test some ways of immobilizing them, and when they try and grab us, twist turn and try to break free.
>>3410440Is the fighting on teams? Recruit Maria to our side, try to coordinate with her and with whiever else listen, focus on disabling and capturing enemy girls, we will be oing ambushes like we did in the actual battle, attacking from surprise.
>>3410464If your effort is towards winning the little play-battle, you can make a roll for it!>>3410450Roughhousing it is then.
Rolled 74 (1d100)>>3410472are we more badass than a bunch of little girls? let's find outwe never rolled a 1 right? a bunch of 2s but never a 1.
Rolled 78 (1d100)>>3410472Things may get weird while grabbing them.
Rolled 18 (1d100)>>3410472
>>3410478Not just little girls, some your age and older.>>3410494>>3410511>>3410478>78Coordinating with Maria and the team you end up on, you manage to prevail pretty well actually. Using some basic strategies you can try, to do things like work together and attempt ambushes or to single out and subdue/capture girls. You even get into some roughhousing yourself intent on practicing grappling and such, tumbling on the floor with a girl your age and struggling against one another in a tangle of arms and legs and trying to force the other to submit. In the process as well, just from the exertion itself you get pretty... excited, shall it be said though not like it hinders you at all, just something odd to note.In the end though despite your clever plays and teamwork, while your side does better you're forced out of the game when one too many hits takes its toll. You keep suffering a punch here, a kick there, a smack of a weapon or three, and you end up pretty bruised, battered and bleeding. Too much to be able to continue playing."Ok is, Alexa?""Thine, this thokay."One of the girls apologizes for hitting you an unlucky one in the face with a pipe, which none of the others seem to mind but it clearly did a number on you which worries her. It's a little frustrating to say the least though, you were doing so well but they just seem more enduring than you. Probably because they're more used to it and must play these sorts of games often enough, though why even one of the little girls for example can get headbutted in the face and generally be fine but you get a punch and your nose starts bleeding and you're dizzy, seems beyond you.Well you can sit it out then and watch for the rest of the time till dinner. After which, maybe a visit to Joan. Both for your battered state and also for those remaining questions you had earlier.>What do you do?
>>3410592>In the process as well, just from the exertion itself you get pretty... excitedkekLet's visit Joan and talk about the next steps.we should do more of this playfighting, it was not only fun but it can help us in future situations.after dinner we should find Jess, and maybe go to that party place again, that colored drink was pretty rare so maybe there won't be any around so we can enjoy it better
>>3410592Ok, now I get why the worst risk when getting a new life is mutation and why they recover quickly from injury, can withstand punishment and drink cleaning products like its nothing, the Red Cross is mutating them, one more thing that we are different then them, but I guess Alexa would not realize that.Let's go to Joan to heal and tell her about the experiments, that she can choose someone and we can try what may work, maybe her like Olivia mentioned
Rolled 54 (1d100)>>3410592>Go see Joan get patched up. Walk around with our crotch tent proudly as well. Get ready for doing more of the same stuff tomorrow, once we get drone forces exploration should be easier.
do we roll to talk to Joan?
Apologies for the delay there, had to run someone somewhere.>>3410624>that colored drink was pretty rareThey didn't like you wasting it, but they had tons of the stuff as far as you could tell.>>3410624>>3410642You can get dinner along with everyone else then, though you get a number of people approaching you alarmed about your physically injured state, which results in some smacks and disciplines to some of the girls you were playing with for the belief that they went too mean and rough on you on purpose. Not that you want them to suffer for your sake, but you're not sure you want to let on that you were battered so easily.Following various advice of visiting Joan then, you go to get checked on as well as the chance to talk."What happened to you?!"Considering you saw her not so long ago, it's a bit alarming to her to see you again in a rough and bloody state, and she fusses over you till you explain it was just from play fighting. Though this doesn't do much to lessen her worries, it seems to check out with her worries about your injured leg from before. Well in any case she'll patch you up, not like there's anyone else for her to mind; all the other patients from the conflict with the gang are by now, all back to full health and up and about. "Why so bad for extra lifes?""Bad? It's not bad, if people didn't go through with it none of us would be here. Even your mother did, that's why you're here. It's just... well it can be risky. Already it's hard work, believe me, everything you do even just day to day living becomes harder. But fifty percent... half the time it causes a person to mutate... turn into a monster. There's no way of knowing until it happens, but you either end up with an extra life or you become a monster, pick a hand." as to demonstrate the 50/50 chance she holds out two fists as if you were to choose something from either, "Of course all that said, that's the danger from the hospital and how they use sticky milk. You're different, you can make it like it's supposed to be so I doubt there would be the same danger from you."Before you'd thought it was just something as easy as getting some of that sticky milk stuff and then overtime another person is the result. Based on what Jess and now Joan say though, not only does the process sound very hard and even painful for a person but it can turn them into a monster? You're not even female but already you wonder if you're at risk yourself, such a dangerous sounding process. Certainly you couldn't imagine such a weighty decision like that; to flip a coin and you either end up with a daughter or you end up some grotesque creature?
Baffling to say the least then, why such a thing scares you but there's so many people willing and desperate for it. You suppose because everyone knows, it might be a bad situation but if someone didn't do it then there'd be no people left. To shoulder that burden of the dangerous and painful process, or let humanity go extinct. Certainly makes you impressed at anyone brave or selfless enough to task such a risk... also makes you realize why there's very, very few people who reach old age and why most everyone seems to be missing their mothers. The grim thought that anyone who is the oldest in the tribe with their name, is because their mother suffered the fate of mutation.A hard pill to swallow, but Joan and the others always knew this so their opinions aren't changed. Besides, she does make you feel a little better at her belief over you not causing mutation because you're the natural solution to the problem compared to the artificial solution the Red Cross gives. She still recommends (assuming you don't follow tribal rules) the eldest Maria, mother of three Maria's and so most extra lives of the tribe. You also bring up Olivia's suggestion, of Joan herself. "Me? You mean, serve as the mother?""You'm have two extra life, just only less one to Maria. And sure most all."Well it's obviously something she hadn't considered by her surprise at your mentioning it. Maybe not a complete refusal since she does take a bit to think it over, it's not like she couldn't since she's not too old apparently. There is the risk though that having a baby would take a toll on her when already she's such an important contributor to the tribe. She remembers the two times before of her daughters and how hard it was when she was a young woman. Doing it again now, well she hopes her daughters would be able to handle the extra work that she would likely cause out of the need to take things easy. And like Olivia suggested, she would probably be the best person to understand the whole process and the birthing of an actual new person rather than an extra life. So, not opposed. Just aware of the risky business it would be.It seems the choice would be up to you, in regards to what advice you choose to follow or if you just prefer your own decision on the matter.>What do you do?
>>3411199Let's go with Maria, Joan can observe and if it doesn't work she can try herself.tell her we are ready to at least try whatever she decides is worth to do, as long as not very dangerousif she doesn't want to try anything today, let's find Jess and go to that party, but ask her to not drink the coloured stuff, since it makes us feel bad and we don't want to be the only one not doing it, please.
>>3411210Agreed
>>3411210Sure. Also want to continue learning electronics and drones, and roughhousing and fighting with the other kids. That’s normal stuff, and helps prepare us for the future. Just make that part of our routing until we have our fully functional drone. Then we can change things up by more exploration of the building with plants.
>>3411236Routine not routing.
>>3411210Supporting plans for tonight, either experiment or party.>>3411236Supporting dedicating some time(after breakfast maybe) to learn with Mia and fix the drone, as well as play fighting when we can.
> We should ask for our Tablet back to use with Drone Control, if we learn more about Computers from it, that helps us too.> Go to the other Building tomorrow, ask Lift A.I. about Shops that sell Robots, Weapons and Electronics.> Go to Resteraunt, order food with fruit in it, save seeds, pips etc for Roof Garden.> When return from Building get Dr and Maria for three way People Making.
>>3411242>>3411239>>3411236>>3411235>>3411210>>3411409Well it mostly comes down to how dedicated you are to this effort. If you're intent on confirming finally if all this can work, then Joan will set things up and figure what needs to be done, in this case probably Maria if she's willing and if you're going on Joan's advice. Supposing so, it will in a large part depend on when Maria is able since from what Joan knows of her experience from the hospital, women can only begin the process of creating an extra life during a certain time. If you press for this then as soon as things line up you'll undergo what needs to be done.In any case though it won't be tonight so you can say your goodbyes to Joan in appreciation for her help, and she actually thanks you for your acceptance of this responsibility. As you know she cares perhaps more than anyone, for you this is a duty you're still a little on the fence about and definitely not glad to have it. For her though and perhaps others, this could be hope for humanity, if it ends up working. So then, you take your leave hoping to find Jess, and have an idea where to find her."Heya Alessa, no sick this'm? A-ha, just only a funny!"Having made your way to the far side of the skyscraper and through the collapsed portion, you knock at the door of the hangout for the older girls and soon enough get an answer, the girl at the door making some lighthearted fun of you before letting you in. Sure enough there's Jess looking like she belongs, Olivia as bewildered as you were last time, and the older girls partying up a storm after the conflict. What a mess everywhere and all acting quite clumsy and funny. They recognize you and welcome you by dragging you along into the thick of the celebrations and shoving some drinks in your hands. All to enjoy watching the current game they have of a sort of... hostile back and forth turns game where two people take chances to throw bottles at one another, till a certain number of solid hits are delivered. Well, you can do your best to try and hang with Jess and Olivia at least, and avoid getting carried away yourself. You do get an uncomfortable amount of attention though since the conflict took place over your sake and now some of the older girls want to know what's so special about who they were fighting for.If you have anything particular in mind for the party you can, otherwise you'll get by best you can and feebly try for not too late a night's rest in preparation for tomorrow.>What do you do?
>>3411431I didn’t even know we wanted to go play the throw glass bottles at each other game. I guess I should have specified not doing that as part of rough housing.
>>3411431Just go to sleep. We’re not in any condition to be hit by glass bottles. We’re still healing up from the beatdown the other girls gave us in play fighting earlier.
>>3411431This will probably be my last post of the night then, we'll continue here tomorrow around a similar time. And hopefully less delays, though we're already on page 9 by now so I feel a slower pace is alright.Till then, thanks all for playing! And in the meantime if you have any questions or things that don't seem clear, feel free to ask and I'll answer if I can.
>>3411431See if there's any other games we can play, like those cards from last time, tell both girls we plan on going to the other building tomorrow and if we can they can come together. After some time playing some games that don't involve thrown blottles we can go back, maybe try whatever other games they have that don't involve too much violence, and if they have questions, answer them
>>3411431If they fought for us it would only be fair to tell them we're a man. How do they not know yet though?
>>3411645Nah. If the elders/leaders want them to know we’re a man they will tell them. We shouldn’t tell every single person we meet we’re a man and show them our dick. That’s what got us into this mess that got hardbody killed.
>>3411483You're not forced to play or anything, you can just spectate without issue.>>3411645They know, everyone in the tribe does. Just most people don't actually know what the truth means. Same as last time you were among these girls, and probably others share their opinion, you look just like any other girl your age so they don't understand what the big deal or difference is. Wanting proof is an obvious matter of curiosity for them or anyone.
>>3411553playing games that don't involve getting hurt too much sound good.Let's invite Jess to play a new game we just learned during the playfight from before, when we wrestled that other girl, that was very...fun.No bites kick or punches, you just grab and try to immobilize or pin the other to the floor, Olivia can try later too if she thinks it's funny but let's avoid doing it with the older girls since they would just overpower Alexa
>>3411898Oooh I like it, let's show Jess the new game we learned this afternoon.>>3411645They know ehat we are I think they just don't understand, answering their questions I think it's ok, not showing our underparts in front of so many people, that's not ok I think. Are the nice older girls that took care of us around too or only those annoying ones? We should thank them for the last time and maybe learn their names.
>>3412285>>3411898>>3411553>>3411483You prefer to take things easy and for the most part spectate. The bottle throwing game is fun to watch but you'd enjoy not having another black eye by participating. Instead you can try and play one of those paper games from before, with the makeshift cards whom some girls will take to even if only to get you to answer their questions about your gender and what that actually all means, what they were fighting for. "Make extra life free?""Good ye, should all for. Then has, no for look treasure to has to Red Cross."You get some interest, though you wonder how they'd feel if they knew as much as Joan does about it all. Young adults at the most, would they be willing to take on such a burden? In any case the talk about it stirs the curiosity of some of the drunker and rowdier girls who would see firsthand what you're talking about, but thankfully sure enough the two older girls you're familiar with are there to stop the others. Chloe and the eldest of Maria's daughters, looking out for you before and looking out for you now. All in all you have some fun then, even if you always feel a little on edge around these older girls. A good while spent at it too till the bottle throwing game must have concluded because a drunken Jess finds her way over to you and hangs on your shoulder, happy for the company. As rowdy as she is then, you get into some play fighting eventually which is plenty fun itself since you don't have to take it seriously. Though like before, your roughhousing about the place with her and tumbling on the floor together while some watch and laugh, you end up pretty "excited" for it. Although entirely from the invigoration of it, after the fun high wears off it feels weird to be playing like that so you settle down to just sitting against a couch together and laughing it off while Jess slurs on about various nonsense till she falls asleep on you. By that time the party in general has worn down too as it's gotten pretty late, just as you yourself are tired although you could probably just fall asleep here anyway if you were careless over making an effort to actually get up, leave, and go back to your room.>What do you do? If you're content to leave it, you can just pass out here for now.
>>3413246Get to bed. Bring Jess with us I guess, don’t want to leave her drunk and passed out on the floor.
>>3413246try to get Jess to our room with us and sleep there with her, if we can't carry her let's just leep together at the back room, or if its occupied here on the couch
>>3413391>>3413291AgreedFind someowhere to sleep with her.In the morning we should probably tell her to slow doen on the booze, she is funny but she can't speak and gets sleepy when she drinks much of the stuffIs there an adult Jess or her mother suffered that terrible fate?
Alexa will get very good at wrestling, he seems to like practicing it a lot.
>>3413504"wrestling"
>>3413504Of opponents around the same size/strength, sure.>>3413412She has a baby sister, but their mother succumbed to mutation on what would have been another extra life.>>3413412>>3413391>>3413291You're getting pretty sleepy yourself but you don't want to just sleep here on the couch. Getting all the way back to your room with Jess though would be a feat in her state, but you are able at least to try and drag her up and after searching for an empty room (and seeing some embarrassing sights in the process), find an old bathroom to visit and an old bed to share.---The patter of rain on the window wakes you up, late next morning. Not a storm you notice but some rain nonetheless. Your stirring wakes Jess up as well though she's clearly a little groggy and thirsty, as you help her to the sink. While she cups her hands for water, you try your best to talk to her about not getting so carried away with the older girls. She finds them to be so cool though that, while she hears your concerns it's hard for her to want to agree.Still, some breakfast would sit well with both of you, and traveling back through the exposed collapsed side of the building you return to the communal area. You do get accosted by an adult though because Daisy was left alone last night and kept barking, till someone smacked her and threw her downstairs with the other dogs. You wish you could have said, because she's old she doesn't know any better but you doubt any of the adults would care or even understand much because the dogs the tribe has tend to only live for a few years given the harshness of living here.Well, a new day at least, as you and Jess sit down to eat and you think ahead for the day. Anticipation, for some things you'd had in mind.>What do you do?
>>3413559Let's invite Jess to go to the other building today, go to Kim and ask for some money and if there is any adults to escort us to the green stuff, they would probably want to check on that and and maybe plant stuff.
>>3413559Keep working on fixing that drone. Then do some more wrestling and fighting with the other kids.
>>3413575I kind of want to wait until we have the drone fixed so we can use it to scout for us before heading over there looking for loot.
>>3413559Work on the drone in the morning. Then this>>3413575 after we finish>>3413599We can use Kim's drone if she comes with us
>>3413624>>3413599>>3413592>>3413575You can let Jess alone for now then as she'd appreciate the chance to take it easy for awhile till she's feeling right again. The perfect chance for you to meet with Mia again and continue to learn from her. And indeed, between your work together yesterday and today, you now have a functioning drone! Or well, you have a drone but it's out of power. Just a matter of letting it charge and then it's ready to go!All that accomplished over the several hours through till midday, and Mia is both happy and proud of your for your contribution and learning from her as she gives you a hug and looks forward to what else you can make. You can't wait to use the device but rather than wait for it to be ready you'd rather visit the other building anyway so after the midday meal you intend to ask Kim about it. Unfortunately while eating though back in the communal area, you don't get the chance it seems as rather suddenly you hear quite a commotion from some of the adults and see them running around. Shortly after which, the eldest Maria ushers you and other children about to your feet and off towards some safe room."What is?" you hear murmured asking, though the response is clear to you."Trouble more, gang again."You don't get the full picture but it sounds like the hostiles from Downtown have returned, though strangely not in an attack? Not that you can tell anyway, you'd think you'd have heard or seen the signs of combat taking place if it were the case. Still though everyone is rushing to battle stations and such as if it were and you're being led off to a safe room once again like the attack last time. Of course you could just go along with it this time like you were bidden to, but if it isn't a battle... you're curious to know what's going on...>What do you do?
>>3413666Let's try to take a look, if this is a battle it's not so dangerous, try to disguise tho, see if there is a hoodie with any of the other girls to cover our hair and such
