Your soul has left your body, pulled out by the sheer force that is Smugzuma's shenanigans, and the unfairness that is the further enlargement of her GIGADESUS.
Once again, you find yourself inside the empty void from whence you came. You are content now, seeing as you would never see Smugzuma and her GIGADESUS ever again.
But that's when you feel it, the sudden pull of some unknown power, driving you back to the world of the living. Try as you might to resist the pull, it overpowers you, a voice in the void screams at you, telling you that isn't satisfied just yet.
You guess that it was time to go back, even if you didn't want to, nanodesu.

You come to on the beach. Sand pricks your everywhere there is exposed flesh, except for your head which you feel is resting on someone's lap. You open your eyes to a blurry, rotating world. It seems like your soul's journey really drained a lot out of you nanodesu. Your daze state returns to normal after a few moments of contemplating whether or not everything from yesterday was just a dream, and it was still the day before you met RJ and was scared to death by Smugzuma. The illusion is broken however, when you hear sleeping mumbling near you, "Gosh darn it, watermel'ns don't grow on humans, ya hear". You're pretty sure that's RJ, nanodesu.
As your eyes focus, you find yourself staring into the eyes of Miyuki, whose face sports a broad, cool grin. She really likes grinning, doesn't she, nanodesu? Your contemplation whether or not to rename her to Lady-Killer Miyuki, is broken by a poke to your forehead. "Good morning sleepy head." Hawawawa, Lady-Killer Miyuki indeed, nanodesu!
"G-Good mongg-" You bite your tongue as you speak, what an embarrassment, nanodesu!

What do you do to avoid further embarrassment, nanodesu?

>Cover your reddening face while screaming HAWAWAWA, NANODESU!

>Initiate PANIC MODE, NANODESU, and try to stand up, vacating Miyuki's lap with MACH SPEED

>Try to control your embarrassment and greet her properly.

Welcome back to Nanodesu! Quest! Wherein, your deranged, Inazuma-obssesed and almost always gramatically incorrect QM starts the thread almost an hour late because he woke up at noon, decided there was still time to finish his week and a half's worth of laundry, going in a trance while working, looking up at the clock, and remembering that he promised to run at 15:00 minutes ago!
Everyone is welcome to join, nanodesu!

>Cover your reddening face while screaming HAWAWAWA, NANODESU!

Your face reddens, blood rushes to your head painting your face red like a tomato. Try as you might to avoid further embarrassment, it seems that the forces that be are unmerciful today. You cover your face with your hands, feeling the warmth of your overheating brain as you take a deep breath and shout your signature noise to be used in any situation- "HAWAWAWAWA, HOW EMBARASSING, NANODESU!" Your head moves erratically as you squirm on Miyuki's soft, heave- you shouldn't be thinking that right now, nanodesu!
You continue screaming and squirming for a good minute or two, Miyuki tries in vain to either calm you down or peer you off her lap. The commotion wakes up RJ, who announces her awakening with a scream of her own, however, you are too busy panicking to care what she screamed at, nanodesu.

A good five minutes pass before Miyuki douses the situation, you are now sitting up right, your tomato-red face still covered by your hands. While RJ was sobbing while nursing a bump on her head, which was given a solid karate chop by Miyuki. A moment of silence passes by, as you try and fail to regulate the redness of your face, while RJ suffers in silent agony.
The silence is broken by the sound of someone rising up from the sand while yawning. It was Smugzuma. Her GIGADESUS swayed as she stretched, it was going boing boing, nanodesu! How unfair, nanodesu! Wait, did they get BIGGER?! In the corner of your vision, you see RJ take in a breath to scream, only to be stopped by Miyuki raising her hand, ready to dish out another Karate Chop on her noggin. She stifles the scream, choking in the process.

After you and RJ are tended to by Miyuki, you all find yourselves in a circle, with you sitting beside Smugzuma, facing Miyuki while RJ sits facing Smugzuma. You begin your introductions, or rather, Miyuki leads everyone into conversation. She really has good social skills, nanodesu!
"RJ, meet Nina, Nina meet RJ." RJ manages a smile, but you're pretty sure her forehead is twitching in annoyance from the way Smugzuma's GIGADESUS are heaving up and down while she breathes, her signature emotionless stare seemingly more smug than usual. And from the looks of it, her GIGADESUS really did increase by a cup, how unfair, nanodesu! You make a mental note to make sure to grapple her later. RJ, not taking it in stride, offers a handshake to Smugzuma, which she takes. The atmosphere is tense as both shake their hands, RJ mutters something under her breath, you catch only a little bit of the sentence, something along the lines of "death" and "meat bags.". You're pretty sure it was a curse, nanodesu!

After the introductions are done, Miyuki announces the topic for the meeting(?) today.

"We need to either find or build a proper base, my hut is great and all, but it's not exactly livable by more than one person." You look at her. You don't even know how to talk to other people properly, and now she wants you to construct a base, nanodesu! You didn't even have materials, nanodesu! "Where will we find materials and labor, nanodesu?!" You inquire to your group of friends. Miyuki points to RJ. "Tell them what you saw last night."

"Call me crazy an' all, but last night, just before I passed out, my planes found tons of shippin' containers near the bonfire that we spotted last night." Smugzuma chimes in, raising her hand as she does so. "Actually, that's where I disappeared to last night." You all turn to her, trying not to look down and catch a glimpse of her GIGADESUS. "That's where I got the drum, and the flashlights." She points to the objects scattered all around, some of her fairies clutching the flashlights as they slept.
"Anything else that you found?" Miyuki crosses her arms over her chest. Maybe it was a defensive gesture, nanodesu. "It was dark, so I couldn't see all that much, but I did see all kinds of furniture inside, some chairs and tables, and more importantly, a bed." A bed, nanodesu! You nod along to their words, you didn't have anything to contribute to their conversation, nanodesu!

"Now, all we need is materials." You nod to Miyuki's words. "How about we use containers themselves, yah? Just need to punch some holes into those bad boys and we'll have decent waterproof housing!" You again, nod at RJs proposal, but a though crosses your mind. "We don't have any tools, nanodesu!" The trio stare at you, seemingly dumbfounded by your words. Hawawawawawawawawawawa! Did you do anything wrong?!
"The fairies." Smugzuma says, crossing her arms over her chest while closing one eye. She was trying to look cool, nanodesu! "They all have tools." She says that matter-of-factly. The realization hits you, and you curl, placing your knees against your chest in embarassment. You feel dumb, nanodesu.

A silence precedes over the meeting, as Miyuki and RJ close their eyes and furrow their brows, deep in thought. You've already returned to an upright posture. You meekly turn your head to both of them, before engaging in a staring contest with Smugzuma. A minute or two passes, before Miyuki announces.
"Okay! Time to divide the labor! One team will be assigned to go to the containers and scout, while another team will be left here with all of our fairies as they prep the land!" Miyuki looks around for any disagreement to her plans. She finds none, nanodesu.

"Okay, I'll volunteer for the prepping team, Inazuma, you lead the scouting team. Choose one of the two to go with you."

Hawawawawa! You didn't expect to be given a leadership role, nanodesu!
Who do you pick?!

>RJ, her planes will be useful for scouting out a large area, but will decrease Miyuki's by a fourth of their full potential.

>Smugzuma, she's been to the containers before, you trust that she knows the way back, nanodesu!

>Go alone, have RJ and Smugzuma draw a map to lead you towards the containers, you trust your path-finding skills, nanodesu! (read: you don't, nanodesu.)

>Smugzuma, she's been to the containers before, you trust that she knows the way back, nanodesu!

You decide to pick Smugzuma. "I'll go with, Nina, nanodesu!" you point to your well endowed doppelganger, helping her up because you're helpful nanodesu. She mutters a thank you while she pats down her skirt to remove any sand left underneath. It takes only a few seconds for most of your crew to climb out of your armaments, leaving you both with a skeleton crew. Your essential systems are fully manned, however you both only have one main gun, one torpedo mount and a quarter of your secondaries crewed.
You start to head to the surf, to reach the beach where the containers were located. But before you can get on the water, RJ yells at you both. "Wait a minute, ya'll are twins?!" Both you and Smugzuma move in sync as you look over your shoulders and nod. "I didn't notice with the commotion an' all that!" She lets out a hearty laugh while waving one arm. "Good luck, ya'll!" You turn your body to give her a bow, while Smugzuma just waves at her in return. You and Smugzuma smoothly ascend onto the surf, surprising both you and your command personnel.

The sea is calm, the sunlight is gentle, and the cool breeze of wind is enough to mask its warmth. Both of you are silent, as you trace the cost of the island. But, that was a problem. It was TOO peaceful.
The peace continues as you reach your destination. Stacks upon stacks of containers litter the coastline, trailing until the distant shore, before a bend on the island's coast juts outward, preventing you to see the beach after it.
In the distance, you spot another island, bobbing up and down due to its distance in the horizon. You could probably scout it out if RJ was here, but instead, you have Smugzuma and her silent stare.

You walk towards a container, reaching your hand towards its doors, before being blasted by a screeching inside your head. It isn't as bad as before, but it still causes you to stop in your tracks, covering your ears in a futile attempt to block out the noise. Really fucking annoying, nanodesu.
A loud voice rings inside your head. "GYAHAHAHAHAHA! FINALLY, I CAN TALK PROPERLY!" Talk? This wasn't proper talking, nanodesu! "AH! I SET THE VOLUME TOO HIGH!" Your knees nearly buckle as you hear a ringing noise overlap the screeching.
"Mic test, mic test." The volume is lower now, and the screeching is bearable. "Gyahahahaha!" But her insufferable laugh is still there.

"Didja like how my breasts increased, by a cup? Didja, didja?" How annoying, nanodesu, and no, you didn't like it. "It's 'cause some insufferable guy out there decided it was a good idea to let it increase due to random chance! Gyahahahahaha!" You don't understand the meaning of that sentence, nanodesu.
"Anywho, anyhow. Guess who placed these containers here?" You gasp in mock shock, placing your hand on your mouth for effect. "Was it aliens, nanodesu?" The voice inside your head stiffles a laugh. "Bzzt, nada! And before you say it, it's not me, desutte! It was actually, humans!" Humans, weren't you a hu- "NADA, ZILCH, NEIN!" The intensity of the voice returns, causing you to fall onto your knees in pain. "Ah, sorry, sorry, teehee." Smugzuma bops her head with a fist while she pokes out her tongue in a sort of mock embarrassment. Annoying, nanodesu. "Humans placed these here! Well, more like they caused them to drift here, but I digress. Okay, that's enough explanation from the great me! Open that container, and see what you find, desutte!"

Well, what do you find, nanodesu?

>19, very good, nanodesu!

You shakily stand up from your knees, pating your knees free of sand, you open the first container. What you see inside is truly magical, nanodesu. Someone, somewhere, somehow managed to load a whole freight container of SWEETS IT WAS A MIRCALE, NANODESU!
Your body shakes as you marvel in the sights, your soul forever thankful towards the powers that be. You look up from your stupor, and run towards the next container. Inside, you find furniture of all kinds, nanodesu! Somehow, 3 bunk beds, 6 chairs, and a table, nanodesu!
Okay, that wasn't as exciting as the other ones, but still, furniture nanodesu!

You continue running around, opening containers here and there, Smugzuma gives up chasing you after the third one. You find them filled to the brim with random things, from clothes, musical instruments, books, and even a speedboat, nanodesu!

You finally reach the final container (the final one in this context, meaning it's the last one you can reach while running on land.) Something about its entrance seems weird, but you ignore it, nanodesu. You pull open the door, finding it to be barred shut. A locked treasure chest, nanodesu!
You push and pull, before resorting to your last option. An electric hum resounds inside your body, as your skeleton crew turns up the power of your engines, your boilers screeching with the sudden influx of heat.
You pull the doors off their hinges, only to be greeted to the sight of two girls sitting inside the container. One of them is leaning on the wall, sound asleep, while the other was in the process of kissing the cheek of the one sleeping.
Hawawawawawawawawawawawa! What do you do, nanodesu?!

>Scream inanities so hard, that even the old gods wake from their slumber. (Okay, that last part isn't true, but it's still pretty loud nonetheless.)

Something in your head clicks, as it has many times before. Something about it slows down time into a crawl. Your commanding personnel inform you of an unused system inside you, a system that would be useful in these kinds of situations.
Your ship horn, nanodesu.

You take a deep breath, bracing your legs for the SHOUT OF YOUR LIFE. You notice that the TORPEDOLESBIAN has noticed your presence, her eyes widening in shock as she realizes what you are about to do. And like Miyuki before her, she is far too late. Again, an unknown hand empowers you, energizing your little body to COMMIT THE MOST VIOLENT CRIME KNOWN TO MANKIND'S (ears)
Your mouth opens, and no words come out. The sound is too loud, the wave too long with frequencies too high for human ears to comprehend. It was more a force of nature rather than a voice. The TORPEDOLESBIAN infront of you gets blasted away, denting the back of the container, before she slides down onto the floor, barely clinging to consciousness.
You are surprised by her tenacity, nanodesu.

The one sitting down merely rubs her eye with one hand, and covers her mouth with another, stifling a yawn. "Good morning Ooi...ichi? Ooichi?!" She panics after she sees her companion, spread eagle on the ground, her ears bleeding, her eyes spinning.
After your crew tend to her wounds, you apologize profusely for the SHEER FORCE of power that is your screams which you explain was a reaction as you thought she was doing... unspeakable things to her, nanodesu!
The girl with black hair done in braids, introducing herself as Kitakami merely waves the whole situation off, while slapping the back of the one with brown, waist length hair, who introduced herself as Ooi. You're pretty sure she isn't holding back, from the sound of that her slaps create, nanodesu.
How scary, nanodesu.
>>
>>3406284

"Well, are you going to introduce yourselves to us?" Kitakami motions, supporting Ooi with her shoulder. You're pretty sure Ooi is fine by now, but she seems to be panting pretty heavily, nanodesu!
Oh, wait, introductions, nanodesu! "Ye-yesh!" You slipped up, nanodesu! Hawawawawawa! "U-um, I'm Inazuma, nanodesu! Please to meet you, nanodesu!" You bow awkwardly, which leads you to almost fall over. You manage to catch yourself, preventing you from further embarrassing yourself. What was this sense of deja vu, nanodesu?!

Smugzuma only slightly bows towards them, after she catches up to you. "Ninazuma, you can call me Nina." Kitakami gives you a thumbs up with her free hand, her expression nonchalant. "Are you twins?" You both nod. "Good for you then, see, me and Ooichi here are sisters." You almost choke with your saliva. Smugzuma pats your back to relieve you of the pain.
"So, what were you two doing here?" She continues, not minding the bomb she just dropped a few seconds ago. Ninazuma replies for you, as you are too preoccupied with coughing. "Finding supplies while we build a base out of these shipping containers." Kitakami nods. "I see, I see. We had the same idea as well, we actually furnished the container you found us in, but seeing as there's now a Ooichi-shaped dent at the back of it, I'm not sure if we can use it again..."
Smugzuma cups her chin in thought for a second, before offering to the two, well, more to Kitakami, as Ooi was still panting heavily at her side. Wait, is that blood, nanodesu- "Do you want to come with us?" Kitakami's brow furrows for a second, then she turns her head left and right, you think she's denying, nanodesu?
"Yeah, we'll go, just have to pack some things." Apparently, she was just searching for something nanodesu!
>>
>>3406285

an hour and a half later, you, Smugzuma and Kitakami have completed the heavy task of ensuring that the containers are water-sealed before pushing them down onto the beach.
You bring 3 containers, as Ooi seemed to be out for the count, somehow, her nose bled too much. Weird, nanodesu.
You bring the furniture, the sweets (with the agreement of everyone in the party) and another container, containg-

>Open more containers, maybe you'll find something else, nanodesu? You'll loose maybe 2 hours, but there was still enough daylight to cover your travel distance, maybe Ooi will wake up by the time, allowing you to carry another container?

>14, 15 Good enough, nanodesu!

You and Smugzuma take on the exciting quest that is opening shipping containers and peering inside them. Most are empty, with the most exciting ones being, a shipping container filled with nothing but faceless manequins, it was more scary than interesting, nanodesu!
Another container filled with canned goods, and one somehow containing two solar panels and lights! It was jackpot, nanodesu! But upon further inspection, it seemed that only one solar panel was functioning, while only a quarter of the lights were fit for use, nanodesu.
However the final container was weird, the one just before the island juts out into the sea, hiding the beach behind it, feels lived in. You see the discard husks of sunflower seeds scattered on the ground in front, around and inside the container. Inside you can smell the distinct smell of strong alcohol, along with a battery operated boombox, a tape labeled "Hard Bass" still inside it.
A feeling inside your gut tells you that something is missing here, something very important. It was very weird, nanodesu.

You come back to Kitakami and the now conscious Ooi, and report them of your findings. You also inquire about the farthest container, and they reply that it was like that when they found themselves washed up on this shore, approximately two days ago.
Huh, another weird feeling, nanodesu.

It was probably a no-brainer on what you would pick that is the containers filled with canned food and electronics, but if someone complains, you feel that some higher power will apologize profusely and listen to some other even higher power about the problem. You don't understand the feeling, nanodesu.

Again, you seal the containers, again you push them out to the sea, strapping each one to yourselves via two lines of rope. You pray to whatever powers that be to let them hold until you get there.

However, your journey was interrupted by-

>19, why do I feel like somehow, Smugzuma is cockblocking us from 20s?

Your journey was interrupted by absolutely nothing, nanodesu! In fact, it was VERY boring, nanodesu! You would sing or maybe hum, but your track record with those activities, the first being an encounter with an abyssal, and the second ended with a tussle with Smugzuma, influenced your final decision.
You make good way towards your base, you look behind you to see Ooi clining to Kitakami while the two whispered to each other, both giggling about sweet nothings as they entertained themselves on your journey. You aren't sure how they're managing to not have the containers collide with each other.
You look to your side, and see GIGADESUS swaying about, while Smugzuma's emotionless eyes look forward, undisturbed by the flirting happening behind you two. You sigh. You pray for stimulation, for something exciting to happen.

Your hope is unfounded. You reach the cove as peacefully as you left it. But then, you notice it. Subtle differences at first, but as you get closer and closer towards the location of the hut, it gets clearer and clearer.
You rub your eyes at the sight in front of you. You rub them again for good measure. You see short... Things, running around the beach. Some of them are carrying logs, far taller than you, and you agree you aren't that tall, but from your estimates, it was six times taller than you, nanodesu!
You see a group huddled around a bikini-clad brown-haired girl, sipping on a coconut while one of the... Things fan her with banana leaves. Your brain starts to overheat, nanodesu.
>>
>>3406370

Thankfully, you all reach the shore safety, But you're not sure if your sanity was intact. Ooi huddles even closer to Kitakami, eyeing the things that pass-by, as Smugzuma flags one down, whispers something to it, before letting it go on its merry way. You look at her.
She looks at you. You open your mouth to start demanding an explanation, but almost like she read your mind, she answers. "These are the true forms of fairies." They look like things that are only made out of muscle, nanodesu! You're pretty sure their muscles have muscles nanodesu!
While trying to wrap your head around the concept of non-cute fairies, Miyuki approaches, a bundle of papers tucked between her armpit, while she talks with a... fairy wearing a hard cap It was useless, seeing as they were topless!

You've given up on trying wrap your head around it. You turn your head towards your other three companions. Smugzuma was nowhere in sight. Further scanning of the immediate area lets you know that she was now being carried on a recliner by a group of fairies while sipping on a coconut.
Kitakami and Ooi have also been provided recliners, and were now both sipping from one coconut using a... Weird heart-shaped straw? You get the feeling that Ooi was getting too into it, while Kitakami nonchalantly sips on the straw, giving you a thumbs up when she notices you stare.

You would scream, run away, or do anything else. But instead, your knees buckle from under you, and you sob into your hands, a nearby fairy notices your distress and rubs your back, apparently trying to comfort you.

Okay, that's all for today folks!
I feel pretty burnt out, and my writing is starting to take a nose dive in quality.
implying that you can make low quality even more low quality.

I was talking about "normal" stuff, like headpats...

I will have to look up the war crimes commited by her crew, but the shipgirls have no memory of anything anyways in this quest as far as I understand it. So, unless we learn about them they should be irrelevant
>>
>>3406372

>>
>>3406373
Oh yeah I forgot that handholding was considered normal by human beings.
I was just talking about War Crimes in general rather than anything specific to be honest. And if I recall one of the Akatsuki class, the Ikazuchi was famous for rescuing survivors of sunk enemy ships at least once in it's service.
>>
>>3406373
I feel weird. WAIT, SHIT-

Welcome to, Smugzuma's question and answer (mostly answer) portion, wherein the QM (in)voluntarily gives Smugzuma control of a post and tells you vague meta defining answers!
Spoilers ahead, nanodesu!
The only clue I can give you, without spoiling too much, desutte, is that your guess of shipgirls having no memory of their ship "self" is true (for the time being at least), dayo-ne! Although, their actions MAY be affected by their memories, i.e. Inazuma ramming Miyuki, the sense of self, their existence in this story is taken more from KanColle cannon or fancannon with sprinkles of Earth history, seeing that the QM is a massive KanColle fag and will fight you and your mother if you ever talk shit about his waifu, desutte.
>>
Fuck, that was weird, nanodesu.

>>3406382
It was both Inazuma and Ikazuchi who rescued sailors from sunken British Destroyers.

I wasn't too sure if Inazuma did as well since it's only mentioned in one article but not the next on one site and yet mentioned offhand for one and fully mentioned for the other on the kancolle wiki. So I felt it safer to err on the side of caution and just stick with Ikazuchi for that action.

Touhou is old history anyways. The superior example is fgo, which is very similar. They both have autistic fanbases that gladly swallow the glorifying wankery put in front of them. They're also both fueled by fanon where the interpretation of the characters depends wholly on whoever is writing them, like touhou, but fgo and kancolle are only good for doujins. At least azur lane knows what it wants to be.

You continue sobbing for awhile, as more and more fairies pile around you, giving you comforting gestures, some even offer you to drink from a coconut that they were holding. When your mind finally gives up from the sheer weirdness that is muscular fairies, you stand up, one fairy wipes your nose into a handkerchief, and motions you to blow your nose.
You oblige. You turn your head left and right, peering into the faces of the fairies gathered around you. You instinctively recognize them as your own crew, your instinct confirmed by your command personnel, who were now requesting permission for shore leave. You allow them to leave, as hundreds of little legs pitter patter out of your armaments, they gather in front of you, still in their small, fairy like form, and give you a salute.
They run behind a newly constructed wall, from which you can hear a comical poof sound. Small, muscular things emerge from behind the wall, waving at you as they run towards Miyuki, who shouts instructions to them, pointing in a multitude of directions for clarity.

Miyuki finally reaches you, the fairy wearing a hard cap still standing beside her. "Yo!" Miyuki raises hand, placing it back to her side a second later. Hawawawawa, you were going to raise your hand, expecting a high five, nanodesu! "Good to see you back safe, Inazuma." Miyuki places a hand on your head and ruffles your hair, blasting you with her signature Lady-Killer Miyuki smile! "HAWAWAWAWWA!" Your face reddens as you try and fail to push off her hand from your head. She chuckles at your expense, giving your head a rub down for a good minute or two, leaving you to smooth out your frazzled hair, before turning her attention to the two new comers, still reclining on their chairs, surrounded by more fairies than before.

They apparently gave their crew shore leave as well, nanodesu.
>>
>>3408607

"Yo!" Miyuki shouts as she walks closer to them. "Yo." Kitakami replies, stopping her sipping from the straw to reply, much to the dismay of Ooi, who gives a small smile to Miyuki. Kitakami looks around, still in the same nonchalant way as she did before.
"Nice base, are you the one in charge?" Miyuki grins. "Thanks! And," She scratches behind her ear, hawawawawa, Miyuki, embarassed, nanodesu?! "I kinda am? It's more like a democracy, I guess?" You don't even understand that word, nanodesu!
Kitakami's lips curl into a small smile, "Good for you. I'm Kitakami, and that's Ooichi." She motions to Ooi, who bows as her name is mentioned. "My name is Ooi, only Kitakami is allowed to call me Ooichi. I hope we get along together smoothly."

Miyuki nods, " 'name's Miyuki!" She points her thumb to herself. "You've already met Inazuma and Nina, abd you'll probably meet RJ later." Again, she gives them a grin. "Welcome to our base!" Kitakami and Ooi both nod, before Miyuki turns and walks back toward you, leaving the two to recline with their crew, although you do see some leave their side, assisting the other fairies with their work.
By the time Miyuki reaches you, you've already fixed your hair back into its formal shape. "I'd hate to give you work, seeing that you just came back, but can you give me an inventory of the supplies that you brought back?" You give her a small run down of the things you found inside the containers, you see her eyes glint when you tell her about the solar panel and lights.
"Oh, goodie! Now we don't have to start fires every night." She flags down a group of fairies, each one carrying logs that would bury you if you try to life them. She gives them orders, pointing to the shipping containers that you all brought back from your excursions. The fairies nod, flagging down more of their bretheren as they get to work pulling the shipping containers ashore, using logs as sleds. How skillful, nanodesu!
Afterwards, Miyuki spends a minute or two in front of you, cupping her chin with her hand. "I guess that's all? You can look around if you want, maybe some of the fairies need help with something?" You doubt you could help them with anything, nanodesu. "Of course, you can always go and chase down one of the other two, and maybe explore the jungle? You call really."

Well, what do you do, nanodesu?

>Find one of the other two, and go into an excursion into the jungle, seeing if there's anything interesting in immediate area?

>Walk around, observing the fairies at work, maybe seeing if any of them need help?

>Recline on a chair, passing the time until sundown sipping on a coconut while your crew attends to you.

>Walk around, observing the fairies at work, maybe seeing if any of them need help?

You think for a bit, before deciding that observing the fairies was an interesting prospect. "I think I'll walk around and observe the fairies working, nanodesu!" You tell Miyuki, who replies "Roger!" She gives you a salute, before heading to wherever she's headed next, leaving you alone of the beach.

You realize that you have no idea where to go, nanodesu!

You stand in silence for awhile, glancing at the fairies who pass by. Some give you small nods as they pass, while others stop what they were doing and give you a salute, you instinctively know that the ones saluting are part of your crew, and you give them a salute in return. You continue this routine for awhile, before spotting a very familiar very carrying a large stew pot. It was your cook, nanodesu!
You run up to him, as he places the pot on the ground, and salutes you, you return one in kind. "Where are you going, nanodesu?" The gestures he makes, which are mostly muscle flexing and pointing (you aren't sure if the former is a gesture for communication) tells you that he is heading to one of the already constructed wooden buildings inside the base, which you presume is the kitchen. You thank him for his time. Again, he gestures in weird muscle flexing and pointing, which you understand as him telling you that he always needed extra hands for the kitchen, you nod and tell him that you'll see if you can pass by later, nanodesu.
You wave to your cook, he waves back to you as he walks towards the kitchen.
>>
>>3408728

You continue observing other fairies as they along their merry way, busying themselves like ants. You've already stood by for 15 minutes, when you feel your feet start to get tired. You decide to get rid of the pain by walking by the beach, with no destination in mind. You turn your head to see groups of various fairies working on various buildings. You stop by some of them to ask if you could be of any assistance. In their gestures, they reply that they didn't need any help, only that if you could find Miyuki and ask her if she needs them anywhere else, they add that, this job wasn't really that urgent, seeing that Miyuki was busy running around managing other projects. You bow to them, and thank them for their time. They give you a smile, some even go up to you and ruffle your hair, which you now need to fix up again.
You continue walking while you fix your hair, you now have two things that you can do to help the fairies. You reach the area where RJ is reclining, where, your presume, some of her crew are attending to her every need. She notices you approaching, and sits up from her chair, she waves her hand. "Hey ya'll!" You smile at her, and wave back. "Hello, nanodesu!" RJ reclines back on her chair when you reach her, standing by her feet. "What's up?" She asks you in between sipping from the straw stuck into a coconut by her side, which was being carried by a fairy. "Nothing much, nanodesu. I was just trying to see if I can help any of the fairies, nanodesu!" RJ nods at your answer, "You know, you can always relax n' recline here, yah? If you want, I can tell one 'f mah boys to get you another recliner."
You think, unsure of what to do. Your cook told you that you could pass by the kitchen to help, you could always try and search for Miyuki in order to ask for further instructions for some of the idle fairies, or you could always relax here with RJ.

What do you do, nandoesu?

>Go to the kitchen to help your cook, nanodesu! You're pretty confident with your cooking skills, nanodesu! Even if you haven't cooked at all, nanodesu!

You nod to RJ, accepting her offer to recline here with her. "Good!" She nods to you while grinning, she looks to one of her fairies and shouts "Boys! Would ya'll be sweet an' give tha' girl a chair?" snapping her fingers for effect.
Two of the fairies immediately get to work, sprinting towards a building in the distance, with a speed that should knock up a lot of sand, but instead they run with grace, almost no sand is knocked up by their sprint, and they come back a minute later, carrying a recliner. You aren't even sure how they built one, nanodesu.
With a thud, they set the recliner down onto the sand beside RJ. "Thank you, nanodesu!" you thank them, and they all smile at you. You take off your shoes and climb onto the recliner. One of the fairies offers you the straw of a coconut she was holding. You decline her offer, your timid nature preventing for you to indulge in their services.
Instead, you take the coconut from her hands and take a sip.

"So, how did your trip go? What did ya'll find?" RJ breaks the ice with some questions, you turn your head over to her, sipping on the straw. "It was a peaceful trip, nanodesu! We found many good things, like sweets, canned goods, furniture and electronic stuff, nanodesu!"
"Electronics? We have nothin' to power them here, no generators, nothin'!" Hawawawa, you made a blunder, nandoesu! "We found a solar panel, nanodesu!" She looks at you like she saw a rare animal. "What's a 'solar panel'?" Hawawawa!

You explain to her everything you know about solar panels. You aren't sure where you got the knowledge, but you're pretty sure Miyuki knows their function, nanodesu! RJ nods sagely as crosses her arms around her chest. "I see, I see. Oh well, did yah find any other interesting things?"
You think for a moment placing a finger against your lip, then you get remember something else! You're proud of your retention skills, nanodesu! "We found two more shipgirls, nanodesu!" RJ lightly karate chops your head. "AIN'T THAT SUPPOSED TO BE THE MOST INTERESTING THING?!" Hawawawawawa, what a blunder, nanodesu!
RJ pants heavily for a bit, before she tips a coconut, provided by one of her crew, over her mouth, gulping down large amounts of coconut milk. Hawawawa, how is she not choking, nanodesu?!

"Girlie, yah owe me an' explanation. WERE ANY OF THEM PACKING?" Hawawawa, nanodesu!

You spend a good hour or so explaining to RJ that they had ample chests, while RJ tells you that anything bigger than your own chest isn't ample for her. The back and forth continues, until you notice the sun has already set, darkening your surroundings. A dozen or so lights scattered around the cove start to light up, lighting essential areas.
You and RJ stop your bickering, both of you get off your recliners and request the fairies around you to carry them back to wherever they were stored. RJ's crew salutes her, which she returns, before the fairies go on their way to fulfill your request.

You both silently walk towards a distant building, fatigue from your talk about chests. You feel a little bit more confident on your skill to socialize, nanodesu! An audible clamor eminates from interior of the building, while a few fairies are outside in a queue, some are already holding plates, gulping down curry and rice in large spoonfuls.
Your eyes and RJ's light up in amazement. They were serving curry, nanodesu!
Both you and RJ start to line up behind the fairies forming a queue, but they all smile as they nudge you forward, until you reach the front of the queue, where your cook smiles as he hands you and RJ a plate topped with a heaping serving of curry and rice. Hawawawawa! You aren't sure if you can finish all of this, nanodesu!
The fairies usher you out of the building, onto a bench surrounding a campfire. You say your thanks to the fairies. They smile and nod, before returning to whatever they needed to do next. Smugzuma arrives later, her serving somehow larger than yours. Hawawawa, you feel an underlying inequality here, nanodesu!
Kitakami and Ooi both arrive later, and after introducing themselves with RJ, begin talking amongst the two of them, Ooi offering to spoonfeed Kitakami who declines. Miyuki arrives last, wearing an apron and her signature smile.

You all eat in silence, your meal only disturbed by RJ choking on her food after Kitakami informs her that she and Ooi are sisters, after RJ inquired about their relationship with each other.
>>
>>3408901

An after meal silence settles on your group, your bellies filled as the last fairies receive their meal, and the cooks get together for their own meal.
"Well, the rooms are done." Miyuki begins, raising a finger as she counts off whatever was finished today. "There's now a working bath and kitchen." she raises another finger. "I really feel like I'm forgetting something."
She furrows her brow, before her eyes light up when she remembers her final point. "Ah! We need to decide who bunks with who!" Not even a second after she says that, Ooi hugs Kitakami's arm. "Me and Kitakami will stay in one room." Everyone else nods. "Well, that leaves us four. Inazuma, you pick first." Hawawawawa! You didn't expect to be put on the spot like this, nanodesu!
Everyone turns towards you as you decide on your room mate, talk about pressure, nanodesu!

You open your mouth to voice your choice. RJ looks at you expectantly, thinking that you would be sensible and bunk with either herself or Smugzuma, trusting that your short but deep friendship as allies in arms (read: in cup sizes) would let you make the RIGHT choice.
But you've already made up your mind, RJ may be fun to talk to and all, but then again, you haven't been with her that long to be comfortable around her, while Smugzuma, as much as you want to keep a personal leash on her, feel that it would be more trouble than it's worth. Maybe RJ will be enough to keep her at bay.

Maybe.

You feel very sorry for RJ, as you go against her trust. You meekly point to Miyuki, your cheeks reddening a little. The color from RJ's face drains, as her expression twists into one of pure horror. You can see her soul coming out of her mouth nanodesu! Someone pull it back, nanodesu!

Miyuki grins with your choice, and announces, "Well, that's that, then! Me and Inazuma will share a room, Kitakami rooms with Ooi, and RJ bunks with Nina!" No one objects, or rather, RJ is too shocked by your sudden betrayal to voice her complaints. You see Smugzuma walk up to RJ, one hand patting her shoulder, while the other pulls her soul back into her mouth. You feel a sense of utter [B]SMUGNESS emanating from your emotionless doppelganger.
Although, in your peripheral vision, you see Miyuki, placing her hands against her chest, secretly sighing in relief.
It seems you aren't the only one saved by your abandonment of RJ, nanodesu!

You all march towards the location of your rooms, Which are located in a compound fenced by tall logs with an opening, which surprisingly doesn't include a gate of some kind. The compound basically amounts to 3 shipping containers placed side-by-side each other in the center of the compound, with one container placed away from the three, which Miyuki explains is supposed to be a meeting place, just in case it rains. The fairy dorms which are 3 long log-cabin like wooden buildings all huddled horizontally to each other, are located in the southwest corner of the compound, while the baths and the comfort rooms are located in the northeast corner of the compound, surrounded by a smaller fence for privacy.

Miyuki assigns each of you to a room, with you and Miyuki located on the leftmost room, RJ and Smugzuma occupy the middle room, while Kitakami and Ooi take the rightmost room.

Each pair starts to head inside their respective rooms, with Smugzuma dragging a passed out RJ, her mouth bubbling from the shock she received a few minutes ago.
You enter the room by opening the large double doors of the shipping container, looking into the room, you find that it is cleaned and furnished with the best of the fairies' abilities. You couldn't smell nor see any rust inside, the furniture is arranged in such a way that allows for good mobility, and the window, cut out at the other end of the container, although it 's still a very tight fit, nanodesu.
Stepping into the room, you realize one important thing, you didn't have any pajama's nanodesu! You start to panic, turning around to Miyuki, but she stops you, and calmly points to the bottom bunk of the bed, where two pajamas, wrapped in plastic wrapper are placed.

You are suddenly confused, nandoesu! You're pretty sure that you didn't bring any clothes, nanodesu! "It's from our crews." That doesn't explain anything, nanodesu! Do they even fit, nanodesu?! "Do they even fit, nanodesu?!" You voice your thoughts. "Apparently," Miyuki cups her chin with a hand. "They all memorized our measurements." How creepy, nanodesu!

You and Miyuki settle in. You still haven't gotten into your pajamas, feeling that you still have something to do. You think, what do you need to do, nanodesu?

>You want to spend time talking to Miyuki, or you can visit one of the other rooms, nanodesu. (I'll call for another vote for this one.)

>Go to the baths and soak for a bit, you aren't implying anything, but you want to take a bath, nanodesu! (This one will have a vote for who you'll take.)

>You want to spend time talking to Miyuki, (Talk to her about cooking and seeing if she can teach you the basics)

You decide to spend time talking to Miyuki, as you haven't talked to her that much, except for this afternoon. You open your mouth to break the ice, but Miyuki breaks it first, as expected of her high social skills, nanodesu! "You okay if I take bottom bunk?" You nod, seeing as you have no problem with that, nanodesu.
She grins at your answer. Before you can say anything else, she begins to strip off her clothes in silence. You feel your blood rise to your cheeks as you look away in embarrassment, Hawawawawa how bold, nanodesu! You stand in silence, as you hear cloth rusting just a little bit further than your peripheral vision.
You finish for her to finish, before looking back at Miyuki. "Why did you look away? We're both girls!" You feel like your mind won't handle this stimulation, nanodesu!

"C-can we talk for a while, nanodesu?" You meekly propose to Miyuki, fidgeting from the memory of rustling cloth, which echo inside your ears. Somehow, you can feel Smugzuma stare at you through the thin metal walls, you can almost hear her saying gay in that monotone voice of hers. You place that feeling at the back of your head, nanodesu.
"Yeah, sure we can!" Miyuki grins as she plops down onto the bottom bunk, which creaks from her weight. You aren't implying anything with those words, nanodesu! "Here, here. We can talk much better if we talk side-by-side, yeah?" She pats the spot beside her, hawawawa, that's very close, nanodesu!
You sit beside her, you look down to avoid letting her see your tomato-red face. "Well, what did you want to talk about?" She flashes you her signature Lady-Killer Miyuki smile. Hawawawawa, nanodesu!

"...ooking... nodesu." You whisper under your breath, what a blunder, nanodesu! You thought that your social skills were improved with your bout with RJ, but it seems like it isn't enough to beat the impregnable fortress that is Miyuki, nanodesu!
"Come again?" Miyuki tilts her head as she peers into your face. Your brain melts. HAWAWAWAWA, NANODESU!

>4, hawawawa, brain melt, nanodesu!

The stimulus is too much for your brain to handle. It melts like putty, and your vision turns black. The last thing you see is Miyuki's panicked face, as you fall onto her lap.
...
You are back in the silence again, back in the black void that you emerged from. Yet, something feels different, out of place. You look down to see your body. That's weird, nanodesu.

Then, you hear it. A condescending laugh made up of a legion of voices echoes from the void. Smugzuma, nanodesu. "GYAHAHAHAHA!" How annoying, nanodesu. "You died from THAT how filled by spaghetti are your pockets that you suffer a goddamn HEART ATTACK from that, desutte?!"
You motion for her to get to the point, nanodesu. Maybe explain why you now have a form here, nanodesu. "The point IS" you feel a non-existent figure push right through your chest, going through your body. You panic as you look down, patting your chest with your hands. There's no hole, nanodesu! You sigh in reflief, as Smugzuma continues her explanation. "You died! Thankfully, I can still bring you back, since the dice gods of another plane didn't let them roll two 1s! Lucky you, lucky you indeed!" Your mind blanks out with the last sentence, your mind somehow cannot comprehend her words. "Secondly, the reason why you have a form HERE, it's 'cause you've already gotten accustomed to that form! Good for you, and you're welcome! You don't have to thank this great me! GYAHAHAHAHAHAAH!"
How annoying, nanodesu.

"Well, Iv'e already fixed you right up. Now you just have to go back!" How do you go back, nanodesu? "I dunno. Iv'e always just kinda legged it! You're on your own!"
You feel the presence disappear.
"Ehhh?!" you shout into the void.

You sit in the darkness for awhile, thinking about how to get out of this place.
You look for any small difference in the darkness of the void.
And see nothing.

Hawawawawa, what a blunder, nanodesu!
What do you do, nanodesu?!

>20, hawawawawawawawa! Something's gonna happen, nanodesu!
>6 hawawawawa, I didn't expect THESE TWO TO APPEAR THIS EARLY!

You sit down on the ground. You aren't going to wrap your mind around the fact that the concept of direction didn't exist in this void, and down is just a relative concept that-
You get the thought out of your head before your brain melts again, nanodesu. You cross your legs in meditation, the silence helps in clearing your mind.
You admire the tranquility of the place for a bit. The way that the darkness seems to pierce into your being is frankly, very weird, nanodesu.

Nothing happens for what seems to be an eternity. Nanodesu. But then, you hear it, rather, you feel it. Two pale figures appear before you, their great majesty incomprehensible to your mortal mind.
They speak. You listen. "We do not know if you are unlucky or lucky. But, we do know it is not our time to meet, just yet." The figure to your left points a bony finger at you, while the other continues speaking.

"Although, it is curious that we might meet so early in your journey. So, we both will give you a boon." The figure speaking nods to the silent one, who raises her other hand.

Dark, twisted hands spring up around you, and grip your whole body tight.
Your mind still cannot comprehend the situation you are in, but you continue to listen, as it seems like the being in front of you still isn't done speaking.
"You are still far too weak. Find your sisters. Find the 4 who sunk in the middle, the 2 sisters, leading different lives but meeting similar fates, find the last daughter of the west, and we shall see each other again."
You feel your mind slowly black out. But it seems they still aren't done, nanodesu. The figure to th left starts speaking. "4 Sisters, broken apart. The 4th one given a new heart." A poem, nanodesu? "The 3rd one weeps, under the waves she sleeps. The 2nd, alcohol she reeks, salvation she seeks. The 1st one is imprisoned, by the one in clad in crimson."
The last one didn't even rhyme, nanodesu!

Your consciousness fully disappears, the two figures disappearing back into the void.

>Smugzuma's face, smugly grinning at you, her face bathed in an orange glow. You assume that it's approaching sundown, nanodesu.

You feel your soul, your essence hit your body with insane speed. Your body jolts from the imaginary impact, shocking your brain awake. The first thing you do when you return to the land of the living is to take a deep gulp of air, exhaling through your nose, as you try to comprehend what you've seen in the void.
You're pretty sure it wasn't a fever dream, nanodesu. Even if it was, it felt too solid, too real to be mere constructs of your subconscious. You remember the two Abyssals that greeted you in the inky darkness of the void, their forms illuminated by some strange, ethereal light. How they told you that, you were still not supposed to meet, and that you should find more comrades in order to face them. Of course, you could always try and avoid running into the ones they want you to find. But from experience, you feel that it will all be in vain in the end, it was better to be prepared for the inevitable, nanodesu. Somehow, you can still feel their presence, and the cold, dark hands that dragged you back down into the world of the conscious. In fact, you're pretty sure the hands are still gripping you tightly, nanodesu!

You shut your already closed eyes tighter, you didn't want to know if the hands were still there, nanodesu! A minute or two passes, but for you it felt like an eternity. The hands loosen their grip, and you hear some stand up from a chair, wood screeching against wood. Hawawawawa, that must mean that was a real person, nanodesu!
You try to open your eyes, but your body refuses to act quickly, owing to the fact that it still hasn't fully awoken. Your eyes only open two minutes later, the person tightly gripping your hand long gone. Instead, what greets you is the sight of Smugzuma's ...smug, face. The, from what you assume, light of the setting sun bathes her in an orange glow, her eyes glinting in the light. From the position of her face, you can assume that she has gotten on top of you, her GIGADESUS hovering just a few centimeters from your own humbledesus, while her hands grip your wrists in an iron grip.

She silently stares at you with the usual emotionless stare that she has. You brace yourself for the inevitable screeching inside your head. It doesn't come. You both stare at each other for awhile, (sarcastically) immersed in each other's eyes. "Ninazuma-san, I can't be a wife any more. You better take responsiblity." You say to her as monotone as you can manage. "My, my Inazuma-kun, I'm willing to take responsibility and make you my bride."

You hear someone choke from the corner of the room. You turn your head to see RJ, who was busy drinking a glass of water. WAS drinking a glass of water. RJ coughs and wheezes, slamming on her chest to try and avoid drowning on dry land. You try to avoid comparing them to the GIGADESUS in front of you.
>>
>>3417261

After you get Smugzuma off of you, you sit up from the bed. You look around the room, and it seems that you're in an infirmary of some kind, the strong smell of antiseptic bathes the room. Smugzuma helps RJ avoid drowning by stroking her back, offering soothing words in a monotone voice, somehow, you feel that it's having the opposite effect. You place that thought at the back of your head, nanodesu.
RJ's coughing and wheezing stop a few seconds later, as she steadies her breathing. You begin to get off the bed, RJ also starts to stand up to stop you, but Smugzuma holds her back, smothering RJ in her GIGADESUS. RJ's forehead twitches, but she doesn't try to stop you from getting up anymore. You dangle your feet from the bed for awhile, letting your body relearn the concept of balance. You slide into your shoes later when your body finally realizes how to stand on two legs. You raise one to walk, but you almost topple over. Smugzuma lets go of RJ as she catches you, supporting you allowing you to grip on her shoulder.
"How long was I out, nanodesu?" You ask RJ, and she replies. "Almost a day." You lost a day, nanodesu. It felt longer than that inside the void. "Yah know" RJ adds, "Miyuki was pretty worried. I swear, that girl was by your side all this time." Of course she would be. You feel bad, nanodesu.

A silence bathes the infirmary, RJ glances between you and Smugzuma, unsure why it was silent all of a sudden. She opens her mouth to speak, but the grumbling of your stomach beats her to it, breaking the silence in the most awkward way possible, nanodesu.
"Well, I'll be. I'm guessin' our next destination is decided." RJ grins at you, but somehow you feel that you should probably find Miyuki first and apologize.

What do you do first, nanodesu?

>Go with RJ and Smugzuma to the mess hall, your empty stomach needed to be dressed.

You nod to RJ's suggestion. You should probably fill your stomach first, get your energy back. "Good! We'll probably meet Miyuki there an' all that." You give RJ a look. A look so filled with disbelief that even the most stalwart non-believer of Inazumaism™ would blush, you don't understand the last part of that sentence, nanodesu. "What?" You blame your forgetfulness to the fact that you just literally came back from the dead.
But you stay silent, they didn't need to know. You and RJ walk out of the infirmary, Smugzuma follows behind you two. You stop in the doorway, allowing your eyes to adjust to the light. The sunset is beautiful, the diffraction of light paints the sky in a million shades of color, bathing the world in an almost holy glow.

You stare for a bit, before returning your focus to walking with RJ. There was time for gawking at sunsets later. Your grumbling stomach agrees with your decision. Your destination leads you a path of some kind, the ground pressed by the force of so many fairies that come and go, towards many destinations. You pass by many wooden buildings, more than what you remembered a day before. Somehow, the fairies have built a town by themselves, houses, which houses 4 to 5 fairies, line the single wide street. As you pass by their house, Fairies nod respectfully or give you salutes. Your group return their gestures with a nod and a smile.
Your walk leads you the the mess hall, somehow more grand than before. It was once a small shack, only allowing for 20 people to it inside while the kitchen was outside. Now, it boasted two stories, allowing for an almost quadruple amount of people to sit, the kitchen was now inside, hidden from view. Since you arrived just before dinner, most seats were empty, except for some stragglers here and there, intent on reserving seats before the dinner rush arrives. In the corner you see Kitakami and Ooi sitting beside each other. Ooi is clinging to Kitakami's arm, as always, while Kitakami chats to the fairy sitting in front of them, the fairy replies to her words in gestures and muscle flexing. Kitakami laughs, apparently it was a joke. You didn't understand it at all, nanodesu!
>>
>>3417359

RJ assists you to the counter, allowing you to lean on it for support. "I'll leave yah here with Nina. Mah bois are callin' yah see?" She flashes another grin, before running toward a group of fairies who wave at RJ, it seems that they had books in their hands. You assume that it was from the shipping containers, nanodesu. It seems like they've already went back for the rest of them.
Smugzuma comes up beside you, knocking on the counter that you're leaning on. A fairy comes out from the curtain dividing the mess hall and the kitchen, the fairy was Smugzuma's cook, judging from the fact that it gave her a salute. "She needs food, passed out for almost a day. Preferably something easy to swallow. Maybe porridge or something." The fairy nods as she produces a notepad and pen from somewhere, and writes something on the notepad as Smugzuma says her order.

The fairy nods again, and shows you both the writing on the notepad, which is really just a random assortment of scribbles and a doodle of your face, your eyes drawn like Xs. Smugzuma nods. Hawawaawawa, you didn't understand any of that, nanodesu! Smugzuma leads you to a two-seater table when the fairy returns back inside the kitchen, You two sit and stare at each other, ignoring RJ as she delivers an uppercut to one of her crew, in his hand a book about flight mechanics, but when RJ takes it in her hand and shakes off the fake cover, it reveals the real book the fairy was reading. You can't quite make out all the words, but you could make out something along the lines of "Busty and Photoshoot." You decide to forget the title.
A few minutes pass as you and Smugzuma engage in a VERY INTENSE staring contest, when you hear a commotion in the kitchen. Ears perk up as heads towards the curtain separating the mess hall from the kitchen. Silence fills the mess hall like a plague. You hear a loud crash as your cook is sent flying into the mess hall, clutching his chest. Hawawawawa, how terrifying nanodesu!
Smugzuma who seems to know what is going on, disappears from your sight, as she moves, no, teleports to the table where Kitakami, Ooi and the fairy are, sitting beside the fairy. She has abandoned you, nanodesu!
>>
>>3417362

Then, you see it. From the curtain emerges a blue and white blur, an electric hum resounds your body, as you summon your armaments from instinct. You know something bad was going to happen, nanodesu!
That's when you realize. You didn't have any crew, nanodesu! You look around in panic, as your crew abandons ship, rather, abandons mess hall or more exactly, you. As some start gunning it back to town, abandoning their seats, some look away, and some bury themselves further into the books they were reading, now seemingly more interested on the book rather than your safety. Granted, there weren't that much of your crew inside the mess hall, but still! They should help or something, nanodesu!
"INAZUMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" You hear the blue and white blur scream. Death was approaching, nanodesu. But this time, you're not sure if Smugzuma could revive you from this.

What do you do, rather, what CAN you do, nanodesu?

>Start running, maybe, just maybe you can out run the blur.

>Dodge at the last second, maybe your jelly legs have a hidden power in them!

You panic for a good while, the blur blasting through tables. Then, you hear it, the click. The one that sends the world into slow motion. You turn your eyes towards Smugzuma. Her eyes bore into yours. You feel a power surge into your cold engines, your brain overheats as it analyzes everything that you can perceive. You turn towards the blur. You feel everything. The lukewarm air of evening, the smell of food coming from the kitchen, the sound of tables crashing into the walls of mess hall from the blue and white blur, inside of which is Miyuki's face filled with relief at seeing you outside the infirmary.
You would've stopped right then and there, taking the blow from your BEST FRIEND. But, some divine power stops you and makes you reconsider your actions. Something in your gut tells you that it is not your destiny to be rammed by her, nay, it was quite the opposite. You sense unknown hands overturn fate itself, giving you power where there is none. You count down as Miyuki approaches you, her hands spread out for a hug. The voices inside your head whisper to you, to do what is meant to be. You obey.

One. Miyuki steps closer, the last table being blown away from the force of her sprint.
Two. The table is blown into the wall, splattering debris all over the mess hall, showering RJ and her crew.
Three. Miyuki steps into your striking distance. You grasp the opportunity.

Your body moves on its own. Your legs crash forward as you extend your left hand outward, catching her throat with your elbow. Your own force and Miyuki's speed focused onto one area on her body sends a sickening crack through the mess hall. Everyone conscious winces from the sound, for a fraction of a second, they believe you are done. Nay, you are not. You grab hold of Miyuki's waist, who is stuck in mid-air from the force of the previous hit, and initiate your maneuver. You bend your own hips backward, driving Miyuki into the ground. Time is still slow when you stand upright. Slowly, you raise your thumb high into the air. A clap. You turn towards RJ, her mouth agape from the sheer absurdity of the situation. Then another, then finally, you are drowned by a roaring applause.
>>
>>3417410

Minutes later, after a thorough scolding of you and Miyuki by your cook, and along with the fairies almost instantly repairing the mess hall, you sit beside Miyuki, whose head is covered in a bandage, one of her arms in a cast. "HAWAWAWAWAWA, I'M SORRY NANODESU!" You scream as you fidget and flail your arms around. "'s fine! It seems like I don't need to worry if you were THAT energetic." Miyuki lets out a hearty laugh. The fairies around you follow. You think it's weird, but you don't say anything to not ruin the mood, nanodesu.
You continue to flail your arms around as you apologize, with Miyuki telling you that it's fine. RJ sneers and suggests that you spoon-feed Miyuki for her trouble. You blush at the suggestion, then, RJ starts chanting. The fairies start raising their cups in agreement, even the usually laid-back Kitakami, and more surprisingly, the silent Ooi chant loudly for you to spoon-feed Miyuki, who you see also has a slight blush on her face.
Hawawawawa!

An hour or so later, both your and Miyuki's stomachs are filled. The mess hall is now sparse, as fairies start walking out of the mess hall, some carry with them their passed out friends, some are waving their hands and heads along some unheard beat, another group carries RJ on their shoulders, while she drinks from a cup and mumble-sings a song, hawawawa, they served alcohol, nanodesu!
The mess hall clears out, leaving you and Miyuki alone. The cooks are now in the kitchen, cleaning up the mess and preparing for lights out. You and Miyuki are silent for a bit, then both of you try to speak, then go into silence when you both realize that you almost talked over the other. "Uhm, I'm sorry?" Miyuki is the first one to break the cycle. Of course, she has better social skills, nanodesu!

"No, no, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you yesterday, nanodesu!" Miyuki grins. "Well, you somehow did pass out while we were talking." Hawawawawawa, you can't say that the reason you passed out was Miyuki, nanodesu! "I-I must have been tired, nanodesu." Miyuki nods at your excuse. "Well, now you've had a day's rest, seeing as you're talking to me normally now." Hawawawawawa, you just realized, nanodesu!
Your brain starts to over heat again, but with careful breathing, you manage to cool it down. Miyuki waits for you to calm down, before she starts talking again. "Look, we exactly didn't idle around while you were out for the day." Hawawa, what was she going to say, nanodesu? "We've scouted out the area, and we've seen whole squadrons of those ...things." Things? Then, you realize what she was talking about. "Abyssals, nanodesu?" you inquire. Miyuki nods. "Yes, Abyssals. We've seen whole squadrons of Abyssals, destroyed." Somehow, the words of the two weird Abyssals in the void flash through your head. You place them at the back of your mind to think about later.
>>
>>3417414

Then, you realize something. How was it doing that, nanodesu?! "How, nanodesu?!" You voice your thoughts. "We don't know. We just know that someone is out there, systematically eliminating them. Alone." Hawawawawa, that was impossible, nanodesu! But then, you are face to face of someone who did just that on the first day you met. "I know what you're thinking about, but the times where I kicked ass was just luck. We don't know if I'll be unlucky the next time, heck, I almost got hit by torpedoes when we're rescuing RJ." Hawawawawa, can she read minds as well, nanodesu?!
Miyuki countinues. "So, do you want to assemble a search team to find the one behind the elimination of the Abyssal squadrons, maybe scout out the areas? Or do you want to focus on eliminating the abyssal force around the island? Or you can always stay here and manage the base. Of course, this is all for tomorrow, but we can always decide right now."
You think, weighing your options. Then you decide. "We can wait tomorrow, nanodesu. With everyone's input." Miyuki nods, and she stands up. "I'll go to the dorms first. Ah, you haven't seen them yet. Look for the huge stack of shipping containers shaped like a box." You nod. "I'll leave you for awhile, but remember, lights out in an hour or two." You wave Miyuki goodbye as she runs out of the mess hall, waving at you as well.

You now have free time, it's night, but maybe you can go somewhere else?

>Stroll around the beach, letting the waves calm your nerves.

>9! QM self-roll for super sekrit tables, something happens, but nothing too substantial.

You decide to take a stroll on the beach, the sound of waves gently crashing the shore would always calm you down, nanodesu. You walk out of the mess hall, your hands held behind your back. In your peripheral vision, you can see your cook peer out of the curtain to the kitchen, maybe to shoo out any dawdlers. Fortunately for him, you're the last one out of the mess hall.
The cold breeze of night time tickles your skin, you cross your arms over your chest as you shiver from the cold. The night is calm, letting you clear out your mind. The past few days have been hectic. You've only had consciouness for less than a week after all. You chuckle at the prospect. You know that you were supposed to be stuck inside that dark, empty void forever. A mere shade that anguished, creating things to decorate some kind of grand design.

You would try to wrap your mind around all the various thoughts that swirl in it, but you reach your destination, the shore. The gentle rolling of waves relaxes your mind, your soul. You sit down on the beach, away from the lights of the base, the only thing providing you light are the stars and the thin, crescent moon hanging over head. Darkness usually invites dark thoughts, but here, in the inky blackness of the beach, you feel at peace.
You start to hum. Nothing too specific. You don't expect anything to happen, and if anything did, you could just run back to your base. Your sure that your feet can carry you there. You start to doze off, the gentle lullaby of the waves invites you to sleep, even if you know that it's unhealthy to do so. Your eyes fully close. Then, the flicker open. Nothing happened. Of course, you weren't expecting anything to happen.
You stand up and pat the sand off your legs. You start walking back to the base, heading for the strange box-shape in the distance.

You didn't notice the sand you sat upon dimly glow blue-green, before quickly dissipating back into nothing.

You are awaken by the sound of a horn the morning after, you jolt up from your bead, hitting the bottom of the top bunk, which sends you lying back into your bed, a bump on your forehead. Hawawawawa, what a bad way to start the day, nanodesu! Slowly, you get out of bed, getting into your usual outfit. You stretch before placing your hand on the handle to open the two large double doors that led outside. You turn back, to look at Miyuki's empty bunk. It seems that she woke up early, nanodesu!

You walk out and are blinded by the early morning sun. You should probably get sunglasses or something, nanodesu! Last night, just before you went to bed, Miyuki informed you that after breakfast, you would meet with everybody inside the second floor mess hall, which she explained was to be used as a command center of sorts, to decide your plans for today.
You walk at a decent pace towards the mess hall, passing by many fairies who are now attending to various odd jobs here and there.

You reach the mess hall, and grab a tray. The serving fairy fills it with rice, some kind of fried fish and a small bowl of soup. You thank the serving fairy before looking around for a table to sit in. It seems that Miyuki isn't here, probably working in the kitchen. Instead, you see RJ, her face twisted in pain from something, slowly shoveling scrambled eggs into her mouth, you can also see Smugzuma, quickly shifting through a magazine, as one fairy picks up what she finishes while another fairy hands her another one, and to your utter surprise, you see Ooi, alone, nursing a cup of coffe in her hands as her eyes dart around the room, searching for something. Kitakami, probably, nanodesu.

You think for a bit, before deciding to-

>Sit in the empty seat facing RJ. She looks like she's been to hell and back, maybe she'll appreciate your company?

>Sit beside Smugzuma, maybe you can somehow ask her about what you saw in the void?

>Sit in the empty seat facing Ooi. Maybe she's feeling lonely because Kitakami isn't here?

>Sit in the empty seat facing Ooi. Maybe she's feeling lonely because Kitakami isn't here?

You weigh your options for a bit. RJ looks like she won't appreciate your company, and will probably rip out the throat of anybody who dares disturb her, Smugzuma's posture and aura just screams "DO NOT DISTURB" to you, nanodesu. You are left with one option, Ooi. You start to walk towards her, shifting your route so she can see you coming. You reach her, and ask, politely. "Is this seat taken, nanodesu?" Ooi shakes her head, and you sit down, letting yourself get acquainted with your food. You eat in silence, as Ooi continues her vigilant glare over the mess hall. Hawawawawa, maybe she's still mad about the whole horn thing? After you finish your meal, you decide to break the silence by asking her a question. "A-are you still mad about the whole horn thing?" Ooi raises an eyebrow? "Haaah?" You shrink into your seat. She's totally mad, nanodesu! Then, something unexpected comes out of her mouth. "What horn thing?" Hawawawawa, she forgot, nanodesu! "N-Nothing" You say as you place a hand against your chest, breathing a sigh of relief.
Ooi eyes you suspiciously for awhile, before looking down into her coffee, a sigh escaping her lips. Maybe something is troubling her, nanodesu. "Is something wrong, nanodesu?" Ooi looks up from her coffee, and sighs again, out from her mouth escapes a bomb. "Kitakami won't let me sleep with her." HAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWA, HOW BOLD NANODESU! Your cheeks flush red as the blood inside your brain drains out into your body. You were raising your hands with an intent to flail them randomly, before Ooi herself clears the misunderstanding. "She said that it's too tight and hot for us to be in the same bunk."
Blood returns to your brain as your body cools down. You take a deep breath, than exhale. You continue the routine for a few seconds, before returning your focus back to Ooi, who has now placed her elbow on the table, resting her chin against her hand. "It's probably that, and not the fact that I peeked at her while she was bathing." HAWAWAWAWAWAWA!

You finish your meal, Ooi waves at you dismissively, immersed in her own thoughts. You give her a bow, before returning your tray to the counter. You see that RJ has now fully face-planted into her plate of scrambled eggs, as fairies gather around her, either trying to help her, or gawking at her misfortune. Meanwhile, Smugzuma has now begun quickly shifting through thin books, with titles such as "The young lady and her strange hobby" and "The Butler and the Princess" Hawawawawa, those are definitely suspicious, nanodesu!
>>
>>3417511

You turn your attention to the fact that Miyuki still hasn't called you all into the second floor, probably because the breakfast rush still hasn't ended. Your meeting would probably be late to start anyway, as RJ still has to deal with her... Egg problem. You probably have forty-five to thirty minutes to kill. You could always try and visit your command personnel, telling them to be ready for crew assembly in a moment's notice, or you could always read a book, apparently, there's now a dedicated library for all the books that were found, maybe you could learn something new, nanodesu! Or, you can always wait for Miyuki to come call you, and for RJ to solve her egg problem.

What do you do, nanodesu?

>Find your command personnel and get your crew to be ready, it's really just a formality, but your crew would appreciate the heads up.

>Go to the library and find a new book, maybe learn something new? (I'll call for a 1d20 roll on this one.)

>Find your command personnel and get your crew to be ready, it's really just a formality, but your crew would appreciate the heads up.

You decide that your best course of action is to find your command personnel and get them to ready the rest for your crew to be called at a moment's notice. You look around the mess hall, and spot one of your command personnel walking out, back towards the town. You jog after him, catching up to him before he disappears into the town. Yet the fairy marches on, his gaze fixed on the horizon. Fairies who he pass by try to get his attention, but either fail or just meekly shrink away at his gaze, it seems like most of them were a lower rank, nanodesu!
You think for a bit, of ways to catch his attention, but then you realize that the solution was simple, you poke him on his sides. The fairy jumps, apparently, that was his weak point, nanodesu! The fairy turns to you, a scary expression on his face. Hawawawawawa! You crouch down and cover your head, prepared for retribution against your crimes. A few silent seconds pass, then a minute. Still, nothing. You look up and see that the fairy is now looking at you with a gentle expression, as he stands upright in a salute.
You jump back up to your feet, and reply with your own salute. The fairy gestures to you, you can tell that he's asking you if you need anything "Hawawawawa, can you take me to command?" The fairy nods, picks you up by the waist, and places you on his shoulder. Huwaaaaa, how high, nanodesu! He starts jogging, careful to to bump you around too much. Your jog towards the town is uneventful, only disturbed when you stop by and return the salute from members of your crew that you pass by. Your journey leads you to a small house by the beach side, just a few meters from where you were last night. Hawawawawa, they were THAT close, nanodesu!
The fairy nods to you, crouching down to assist you in getting off his shoulders. You oblige, bowing to him as thanks. You enter the house, the fairy following behind you. Inside you find fairies either huddled around a table, cards clutched to their hands, or reading a book of some kind, reclining on a chair. They are all wearing nothing but pants and undershirts, their muscles bulging underneath the thin cloth. Hawawawawa, how embarassing, nanodesu!
>>
>>3419131

Your mind starts to melt at the prospect of muscle heaven, but not before one still uniformed fairy stands up from the table, discreetly discarding the cards she held in her hand, much to the shock and annoyance of the fairies currently playing. It was your head command personnel, nanodesu! The fairy stomps her feet, all the fairies gathered inside the house, which you count amount to ten, including the one behind you, all look at her. She points to you. Their gazes follow where her finger is pointing at, locking their eyes with yours. A few moments of silence pass by, before the fairies start scrambling towards their uniforms, in a sort of organized panic. Your head command personnel calmly steps out from the flurry of bodies reaching for, and then putting on their uniforms.
She salutes you, you return it with a smile. She then turns back towards the fairies who are now standing still, now in formation. the fairy behind you takes his place beside your head command personnel. Hawawawawa, he was vice-head, nanodesu! You panic at the prospect, you were riding the shoulders of your vice-head command personnel, nanodesu! Vice-head turns to look at you over his shoulder, seeing you in distress about something. He smiles, a gentle look in his eyes.
Your head command fairy stomps her feet again, the rest of your command crew salutes in unison. Hawawawawa, they were more disciplined than you, nanodesu! Head and Vice-head turn around to face you, saluting in unison as well. Vice-head gestures to tell them your commands. Hawawawawa, you were put on the spot again, nanodesu. Your brain starts to melt again, but a stern but kind gaze for your the head command personnel calms you enough to think clearly. You take a deep breath, and then exhale. You repeat this routine until your nerves calm down. You look towards your command personnel and start speaking.
"G-get rednggg" You bite your tongue. Your cheeks flush red. None of the fairies stir, ignoring your mistake. Hawawawawa, your crew is too good for you, nanodesu! "G-get the others ready, nanodesu! We might sortie, nanodesu!" Silence. Did you make a mistake, nanodesu?! Your two head commands nod at your orders, turning back to the rest of the command personnel. They all nod. It seems that they heard your orders, nanodesu!
Head command stomps her feet, and the rest of your command personnel shoot out into the town, presumably to inform the rest of your crew of your orders. You bow to your head command and vice-head command, just in time for a fairy to reach the house you are in, gesturing to you. It seems that Miyuki is calling, nanodesu!
>>
>>3419136

The fairy who delivered the message starts to pick you up, but your vice-head stops him, and picks you up instead. The other fairy obliges, and clears the way for you both to pass. Vice-head gestures for you to hold on tight, you oblige, wrapping an arm around his thick, muscular neck. Hawawawawa, muscles, nanodesu! Vice-head then starts sprinting, the buildings pass by in a blur. You reach your destination mere seconds later. Your eyes turn around in circles, your balanced destroyed by the speed that you came in. Vice-head sets you down on a chair beside RJ, who you see, after regaining your sight and balance, now looks okay, nothing on her face shows her accident from awhile ago.

"Now that Inazuma's here, we can start the meeting." Miyuki says from in front, standing beside a chalkboard, a rough hand-drawn map covers half of it, while various words are scribbled on the other half, which was stained by a lot of chalk, maybe from a multitude of erasures. "The reason why we're here is because..." Miyuki explains to the group of what she and RJ found while they were scouting around. The first was the fact that your big island was surrounded by a multitude of small islands, each one either empty, or filled with abyssals. The other fact is that the abyssals seem to be patrolling a very specific route, trying to avoid two areas, one is your island, the other is an island in the distance, surrounded by large whirlpools. Finally, Miyuki reaches the penultimate topic of today, and that is, the mission which she proposed.
"We've seen whole Abyssal squadrons taken out by something, or someone. From the damage on the Abyssal hulls, we can see that they're working alone." Ooi raises her hand. "Shoot." Miyuki says. "Don't they sink when we defeat them?" Miyuki scratches the back of her ear. "Ah, forgot to mention that they were seemingly dragged ashore onto those empty islands, their bodies being torn apart by... Something." Hawawawawawa, how scary, nanodesu!
>>
>>3419140

"Now, the thing is, Inazuma here." Miyuki points to you, all eyes turn towards you. "Is saying we should scout out and try to find that something. Any volunteers?" Smugzuma immediately raises her hand. "Okay, Nina. I think one or two more" She looks at Ooi and Kitakami "Should do the trick. We do have to leave some people to guard the base. Well, any volunteers?"

Hawawawawa, who else raises their hand, nanodesu?

>Kitakami, and then reluctantly, Ooi raise their hand. The firepower of light cruisers will be a good thing to have, just in case you all go against something expected, of course you still haven't seen them in action yet, nanodesu!

>RJ raises her hand, almost immediately after Smugzuma. The scouting potential and utility that planes allow will give you a huge boost in both scouting power and air power, but of course you need to huddle around RJ to protect her flight deck, limiting your own scouting range, nanodesu!

RJ raises her hand almost immediately after Smugzuma. "I'll go." RJ announces. Miyuki nods to her words. "Good. I'll stay here with Kitakami and Ooi, to safeguard the base. Any one else have any questions?" She is met with a determined silence. "Okay, Inazuma, Nina, and RJ, report to the docks. Everyone else, dismissed!" Docks? You didn't know you had docks, nanodesu! You turn to your vice-head, your expression a mix of distress and confusion. He pats your head, before running out, probably to inform your head command personnel about the situation, leaving you as everyone else shuffles out of the room. Miyuki passes by you as she heads out, stopping in front of you, and placing a hand on your shoulder. "Good luck, and stay safe, Inazuma." Hawawawa, your best friend was worried about you, nanodesu! You nod and reply, "I'll do my best, nanodesu!" RJ rests her elbow on your other shoulder, and grins at Miyuki. "Don't worrry, ya'll be safe with me and mah boys." Miyuki smiles and nods, before continuing to walk back out. Smugzuma replaces Miyuki's position in front of you, and bows to RJ. "I'll gather my crew." RJ nods. "I guess I'll gather mine as well, how about you, Inazuma?" Your vice-head was now rushing to gather your crew, so you were free for the time being. "My crew are already getting ready, nanodesu!"
Both Smugzuma and RJ nod, walking out to get their crew, but RJ takes a detour and stops beside a fairy dozing off in the corner, dragging it with her as she goes out. Hawawawa, poor fairy, nanodesu!

You are left alone inside the second floor of the mess hall, the only sound you can hear are your own breathing and heartbeat, as well as the dampened noise of the hustle and bustle from the floor below. Darkness invites dark thoughts, your mind thinks back towards the words of the two Abyssals you saw inside the void. The hints they told you, and the fact that you have to meet them again. You shudder at the thought, something inside your gut tells you that something about this sortie is bad news, that it's better to scout out instead, and gather more comrades. But another voice inside your head tells you that by the time you do find enough strength to face your foes, it would be far too late, far too late for what, nanodesu?

You stew inside your own dark thoughts for awhile, before a hand on your shoulder rips you back into reality. You turn back to see Ooi, alone. Her hand is on your shoulder. You are confused, nanodesu. "W-what do you want, nanodesu?" Hawawawawa, maybe she did remember about the whole horn thing, and wants to pay for it, nanodesu?! Her eyes stare into your own, filled with a fierce emotion inside of them. HAWAWAWAWAWA, MAYBE HER NEXT TARGET IS YOU, NANODESU?! "Are you nervous?" HYAAAAAAAAAA, SHE'S GOING TO DO THINGS TO YOU, ISN'T SHE, NANODESU?! HAWAWAWAWAWWA! She continues staring into your eyes. "Thanks for the company this morning, I really wasn't in a good mood." She turns around to leave, but turns to look at you from over her shoulder. "Just sulking here won't do you any good. Action tends to clear the mind, good luck out there." She turns back and starts walking, waving her hand once, she leaves.
Hawawawawa, what was that, nanodesu?!

Fortunately, thanks to Ooi's words, you are broken from your thoughts. You decide to listen to Ooi's words and take action. You run out of the second floor mess hall, dodging the fairies on the first floor, who are trying to get proper meals before going on sortie. You see your cook dash out of the kitchen, still wearing an apron. On his shoulders he carries a box of what you assume are ingredients. He catches up to you and runs alongside you with no effort at all, while you on the other hand are now gasping for air, just trying to maintain your speed. Running without your engines is hard, nanodesu! Your cook sees you in distress and picks you up, placing you on his free shoulder, before running full speed towards a wooden building by the beach, from your angle you can see that its front that faces the sea is open, allowing water to come inside the building, wooden piers jut out from the opening. It was probably the docks, nanodesu!
You reach the docks, and see that your crew is already assembled and waiting for you, your head and vice-head are at the forefront, saluting you and your cook as you arrive. Both of you return the salute, before your cook helps you down onto the floor, and gets into his own line. You see the docks are a hive of activity, wooden crates are being passed here and there, containing ammunition and fuel, you don't even know where they get it, nanodesu! While some are still in the process of constructing parts of the docks, some are only doing maintenance work. You're amazed they built this in a day or two, nanodesu!
You have time to kill, but you decide that it's best for you to wait for RJ and Smugzuma to arrive.

The two arrive a few minutes later, RJ's crew walks behind her, tending to the ear of the fairy in the forefront, presumably her head commander. Hawawawawa, how scary, nanodesu! Meanwhile, Smugzuma is being carried on the shoulders on her own head command fairy, one of her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, while the other is holding a book she is busy reading.
Miyuki, and the duo of Kitakami and Ooi arrive later. Your, RJ's and Smugzuma's crew begin to load themselves inside your already summoned armaments, the pitter patter of tiny feet on your metal decks a comforting sound. All the fairies inside the docks stop working, and face toward you all, giving you a salute. You bow towards each direction they were in, saluting when you face back to Miyuki. "Inazuma, requesting permission to sortie, nanodesu!" Miyuki grins. "You know, you really don't have to do that. Heh," Miyuki returns your salute. "Permission granted! Fair seas, sailor!"
>>
>>3419508

You go under way in a line ahead formation. You take the lead, RJ is in the middle, her planes already in the air, while Smugzuma takes the rear. Slowly, the island disappears over the horizon, and is replaced instead by the wide expanse of blue that is the ocean. A few uneventful hours pass, before you hear RJ beep to you in Morse code. Abyssals spotted, engaging something. Hawawawawa, that was too fast, nanodesu! You look over your shoulder to look at RJ and Smugzuma, they both are waiting for your command.

What do you do, nanodesu?

>Have RJ scout out with her planes first, engaging the Abyssals and gaining more info, nanodesu.

>Go on full steam towards the engagement, maybe the one their engaging is friendly, nanodesu!

>Fire a signal flare into the sky, have the Abyssals and the one they're engaging come to you.

I don't know that quest, but I was in a MG quest where the GM pretty much retconed everything after a certain point, despite the fact that there was some good ground for character growth on every side and a new reason to murder the hell out of the main bad guy.
I'm the kind of guy that's fine with battle damage as long as it's appropriate to the situation and is earned. Like getting burn scars for diving into a fire to save a loved one or losing a limb because we had to sacrifice something of ourselves for more power.

>Have RJ scout out with her planes first, engaging the Abyssals and gaining more info, nanodesu.

>20, BASTARDS! ALL OF YOU! But beware, of my T-RU-MP CARD, NANODESU!

You signal RJ to send out a wave of her planes, telling her to act as she pleases, but making reconnisance an importance. RJ nods at you, as you start to slow down, Smugzuma follows suit, as you and and Smugzuma position yourselves diagonally to RJ in an echleon position. Your RADAR and Smugzuma's scan the skies, intent on shooting down any air assets that the Abyssals send against you.
You feel a blast of wind, as plane after plane takes off RJ's flight deck in waves of 3. Soon, they disappear into the horizon, engaging the enemy. "Fleet of three, one Light Cruiser an' two Destroyers!" You hear RJ yell, her voice carried over the waves. You really should get radios, nanodesu! "Confirmed, Abyssals engaging a' shipgirl, medium damage, she's smokin'! White hair, hat and the same uniform as you, Inazuma!" RJ follows up her report. You feel a slight tingle in your chest. Something in your gut tells you that you should get to her, and quick! "RJ! Assist her, nanodesu! NOW!" You turn toward RJ as you bark your orders, she nods. She screams something over her headset. You find it weird that there's ship to plane radio's, but no ship to ship radios, nanodesu! Your command personnel inform you that somehow, the radios inside all of your hulls are missing, as well as the radio operator for each one of you.
How strange, nanodesu.

Then, you hear, or rather, feel it. A catastrophic explosion from far away shakes your body, a huge torrent of water is knocked up in the distance. You don't let it rock you, you stand steady. You turn to RJ for confirmation, on whatever the hell happened, nanodesu. "Kill confirmed! Light Cruiser and Destroyers sunk! Squadron destroyed!" RJ grins as she gives you a thumbs up. You sigh in relief. "Full speed ahead, nanodesu!" You order Smugzuma and RJ, who shouts a victory cry of some sort, as your engines scream back to life, your chest thumping loudly inside your body, as something inside your gut tells you that there's still danger around, but some strange force is pushing you on wards. The site of the battle is easy to find, you need only to follow the burning husks of Abyssals, their bodies torn apart by torpedoes and bombs. RJ's planes circle overhead, she retrieves them slowly, but increases the amount of fighters in the air, just in case something else was attracted by the explosions. You look at the carnage, black sludge-like blood spills from cold, dark husks, the flames and the waves eating away at them, returning them back into nothing.

You would stop to pay your respects, and reflect, but your heart is thumping loudly in your chest. You remember RJ's report, and shout at her to tell you the location. She screams back at you, and you rush, pushing your engines to reach her even a second earlier. Then, you see her. Her white hair flows down her back, her bangs stuck to her forehead from the sweat. She is breathing heavily, her uniform is in tatters while she nurses a wound on her hand, as smoke billows from her armaments. She notices you approaching, and your eyes lock with each other. Her azure eyes are wild, filled with terror, confusion and rage. But something about her is familiar, familial. A name appears inside your head.
>>
>>3419712

"Hi..biki?" It was your sister. Your mind tells you that she is your older sister, the one who saw you through the end, but, what end, nanodesu? You sprint, breaking the smooth skating motion that you usually have. Your engines creak under the stress of your movement, but your crews hold on, they understand what you are feeling right now, and what you need to do. Hibiki merely stares at you, dumbfounded, as you somehow break physics itself, running towards her on water. You crash into her seconds later, your eyes somehow filled with tears. "Hibki! Hibiki!" You bawl into her chest, as you feel her hands tentatively hug your body, unsure if you're just an illusion. "Inazuma." She whispers, as she embraces you, the only sounds echoing across the waves are your sobbing, the popping of cooking ammunition, and the sound of Smugzuma and RJ's engines as they draw closer to you two.

After you calm down, you turn to face your squad, your hand holding Hibiki's tightly, afraid to let her go. "She's my older sister, Hibiki, nanodesu!" you introduce her to them. RJ grins and gives you a thumbs up, but then turns to Smugzuma, who smiles and nods. "Hello, nee-san." She says to Hibiki, whose eyes widen. "Ah, yes, hello Ninazuma." Hawawawawa, somehow, you feel that a higher power has tampered with the world, adding something that you don't understand, nanodesu! You don't even understand that though, nanodesu! RJ turns back to you and suggests "Well, seein' that we're done here and all, should we start to go back?" All of you nod, you are all too tired, fatigued, even if you haven't participated in battle.

Somehow, you feel that it is far too easy, that something else is going to happen. You begin to go your way, Hibiki leaning on your shoulder for support, as both your and her repair crews try to stabilize her situation.

That's when huge torrents of water rock your hulls.
>>
>>3419714

You turn to RJ, as she tries to find the source of the shells. Another salvo brackets the water beside you. They were getting too close, nanodesu! You turn again to RJ. Her eyes widen. "BATTLESHIP SQUADRON SPOTTED FLEET OF FOUR! ONE BATTLE SHIP, ONE LIGHT CRUISERS AND TWO DESTROYERS!" She screams. "EVASIVE MANEUVERS, NANODESU!" You bark and everyone splits up, you drag Hibiki along with you, seeing as her sailing capabilities weren't that good. "RJ! SEND A PLANE BACK TO BASE, NANODESU! TELL THEM WE NEED REINFORCEMENTS, NANODESU!" You bark, she obliges, as a squadron of fighters fly back towards the base. Then, you think. From their position, they weren't blocking your way back to the island, but with Hibik's condition, you doubt that you can sail that fast, of course you can always send some of your repair teams to Hibiki as you and the other two try to buy time for them to repair her engines. You could always take the fight back to them, maybe close quarters would be enough to throw off their aim, maybe even let them fire at each other, of course, you would still need to rush into them, allowing them a few minutes to shoot at you as you approach, this also leaves RJ vulnerable.
This was bad, nanodesu. Reaaaaly bad, nanodesu!

What do you do, nanodesu?!

>Try and sail back to base, dragging Hibiki, maybe your speed will be enough.

>Exchange fire with the squadron and buy time for either reinforcements, or Hibiki's repairs to be done, whatever comes first.

>Leave Hibiki with RJ as you and Smugzuma charge into the enemy formation, hoping that close quarters would give you an advantage.

You all leave some of your repair crew to Hibiki in all of the options.

>20, YOU BASTARDS! I SWEAR, IF ALL THIS LUCK IS BEING SUCKED OUT FROM MY KANCOLLE SORTIES I'LL, I'LL-
I can do nothing, nanodesu!

Another salvo hits around you. They were getting more accurate nanodesu! You move towards Hibiki when the water around you all calms down, using the time when the enemy reloads between salvos to crouch down near Hibiki, and transfer some of your repair crew, by basically grabbing a handful of the fairies gathered around your deck, and shoving them, as gently as you can of course, onto Hibiki's deck.
You then return back to your firing line, as you return your own salvo towards the enemy fleet slowly coming into view from the horizon. Smugzuma and RJ do the same, handing some of their repair crew to assist with Hibiki's repairs, as your group and the enemies exchange salvo after salvo. One of your salvoes manage to hit the light cruiser, rocking its frame with an explosion. A fire starts to blaze on its hull, but it keeps firing, undeterred by the damaged you caused.
Smugzuma also lands a hit on one of the two destroyers, hitting it in one of its eyes. It stops firing, as the inside of its head starts smoking. Hawawawa, critical hit, nanodesu! Hibiki's guns also aren't silent, as she releases wave after wave of shells into the enemy. The destroyer she is aiming at weaves and turns from her shells, trying its damned best to dodge. But, either due to pure luck or skill, Hibiki's shell penetrates through its stern area, in the case, its tail. The Abyssal destroyer starts to slow down, allowing Hibiki to much easily shoot at it.
Of course, RJ isn't idle, as she coordinates her planes against the Abyssal Battleship, your destroyer guns can't reach the range of her guns, only RJ's planes can. A bomb detonates in the water near the battleship, causing shrapnel to dig into its pale, alabaster skin. She bleeds the same black sludge-like blood that all Abyssals do, and has the same, expressionless gaze towards you, only filled with silence and calculation, devoid of any emotion.
>>
File: You better think twice.jpg (140 KB, 850x1005)
140 KB
140 KB JPG
>>3419823

Of course, the Battleship isn't idling through all of this. It disregards any damage that RJ's planes inflict against her, the firing of multiple secondary guns coming from the thick, trunk-like things she has in her hands, prevents any of RJ's planes to come any closer. RJ is trying her best to prevent her from firing, but she does get off one salvo. An explosion rocks you, as a shell detonates VERY near you, spraying hot shrapnel all over. You are knocked on your back, various small cuts dye your body red. You stand up, your knees shaking from the force of the explosion. You turn around and see Smugzuma clutching her own arm, a cut on her shoulder trickling with blood.
Thankfully, RJ is uninjured, and is continuing to coordinate her planes to attack the battleship, hopefully throwing off its aim. Then, you hear it. The click inside your head. Time slows down to a crawl once again, once again you are given time to think. But you do no think, Ooi's words ringing inside your head. It was time for action, nanodesu.
You let loose another salvo towards the light cruiser. Mere near misses, but enough to throw off its aim. You do so again, and again, letting the fire consume its hull. Smugzuma, after hitting the disabled destroyer one last time, to confirm if its disabled, helps you in battering the light cruiser, the water around it foaming and exploding up into large torrents due to shells detonating underwater.
>>
>>3419824

"Wha- IT'S MOVING!" RJ screams over the cacophany of naval guns firing, for a split second, you see that the battleship is now steaming towards you, the two other Abyssals try to do the same, but another hit from Hibiki disables the last destroyer, and the cruiser that you and Smugzuma were firing at explodes into a fiery explosion, its ammunition set ablaze by the untamed fire on its haul.
Then you all turn your attention towards the battleship, its guns screaming as it picks up speed and moves towards you. You don't know what it's thinking, nanodesu. It had the upper hand in range, but now, it seemingly threw that advantage away, and something primal inside its mind is telling it to charge right at you, granted, it might be more accurate at shorter ranges, but it still didn't make any sense at all, nanodesu!
It gets close enough, that even the outer rim of RJ's CAP starts peletting it with their machineguns, but the Abyssal battleship merely shakes it off. This bad, nanodesu! VERY BAD!

You turn to look at Hibiki, her repairs still unfinshed. Your mind overheats from all the thinking that you are doing, you go against many scenarios, rejecting anything that would mean abandoning Hibiki here. In your desperation, you begin to order your crew to brace for ramming, but you are stopped by a sudden surprise.
>>
>>3419825

An explosion rocks the battleship, causing it to list dangerously to the lift, drowning half of its guns, as the other two above water still fire at you, one shell glances RJ's shoulder. She grits her teeth in pain, hawawawawa, RJ's plane launching capabilities were disabled, nanodesu! You start to panic again, before another explosion from the battleship's back causes it to fly up from the water, and land face down onto the burning ocean below, its guns silenced by something.
Once again, the world is filled with silence. You signal for everyone to gather around Hibiki, whose repairs are now finished. You all form a protective triangle around her, vigilant of the thing that sunk the battleship. Then, you see an orange and white striped buoy rise up from the water in front of you. You all jump, as you, Smugzuma and Hibiki point your gun towards the buoy, ready to fire at whatever comes out from it. You see a shadow pass underneath the buoy's hole. You panic.

Hawawawawa, are there sharks here, nanodesu?! Then, with a large splash, you see a pink-haired swimsuit-clad figure appear, no, shoot out for the depths, she sits down on the floating buoy, clutching what seems to be a smartphone in her hands. You don't even know what that word means, nanodesu! "Heyyyyy!" She screams while waving at you four "It's fine, I'm not dangerous or anything! I'm Imuya! Do you have any idea where I can charge my phoooone?" Your jaws slack and your eyes widen in surprise.
>>
>>3419826

You start introducing yourselves to Imuya, who is lazily sitting on a buoy as you and Smugzuma drag it along behind you two via rope, as you cruise back to your base. "I'm Inazuma, nanodesu!" You start first. "Glad to make your acquaintance!" Imuya smiles. "Ninazuma." Smugzuma follows, "Ryuujou, yah can call me RJ!" Followed by RJ who gives her a grin and a thumbs up, before twitching from the pain of her now bandaged shoulder. "Hibiki." your older sister states, almost sounding like a whisper.
"It's nice to meet you aaaaaaaallll!" Imuya stands on the buoy and spreads her hand on the buoy. Hawawawawa, that's dangerous nanodesu! Your fears are realized, when a rogue wave knocks her off the buoy, sending her careening into the ocean. "HYAAAAAAA, SHE'S GOING TO DROWN, NANODESU!" Turns out, she wasn't going to drown at all, nanodesu.

Soon, you all meet up with Miyuki and the duo of Kitakami and Ooi, who in her panicked state rams you, almost causing you to sink. Kitakami stands back, telling Miyuki that your worry was dumbfounded, while Ooi merely silently stares at you all. "I guess it's a success, nanodesu?" You ask, and everyone agrees. You all start steaming back towards your base, two new comrades in tow.

I think a mix of the two should be fine, where if it's more personal or we have more time to react in situations the shorter posts could work, but if it's big events like say the island we're situated on turns out to be Mata Nui's younger brother Manlet Nui and he's waking up then the bigger posts should do fine and so on.

More or less.
It wouldn't hurt to get some training of some kind, because while we're acting like the metaphorical heart of the current forces. We're relying too dangerously on our lucky rolls to save our bacon and all it would take to end it all is a insane streak of bad rolls.
>>
>>3419843
Well then.
The hivemind is steering us away from any training though, but I'll try to set-up that scenario on the island, the next time we run. See if the hivemind is in the mood for some training for that day. Alternatively, you can always find A-san, and/or Y-san and start improving your equips. (I'm not going to give +bonuses to rolls that easily though, mind you.)

Also, does anyone want to know what I planned this quest to be like, before I decided, fuck it, I'm gonna just gonna wing it and not melt my mind by thinking about mechanics?
Well, here you go.

Your group reach the base an hour or so later, most of you are tired, some more than others. Miyuki leads in the front, while Kitakami and Ooi are guarding the rear. The trip back was silent, probably due to the fatigue of battle. You were standing beside Hibiki, ready to assist her in case something unexpected happens. Miyuki leads you all into the docks, where a small group of fairies are waiting for your arrival. They assist you out of the water one by one, as your crew pour out of your armaments onto the floor below. Some carry with them stretchers covered by white cloth.

Your crew gathers in front of you, some are worse for wear, but complete. They salute you, and you salute them. They start running behind things that would hide their transformation from you, as they turn back to their burly, muscular forms. You glance over to the gathered crew of the other ship girls. Smugzuma's crew are fine, some are bandaged here and there, but they are complete. You glance over to RJ and Hibiki's crew and see that stretchers in their groups, with Hibiki's having more than RJ's. RJ salutes her crew, tears gathering in the corner of her eyes, while Hibiki salutes hers silently, not breaking her gaze as they take away their casualties. When everything is said and done, you all huddle together, battle-weary.
Miyuki, Kitakami and Ooi watch over you four, huddled in a pile, as fairies restart their duties.

A few minutes later, a fairy wearing a nurse cap walks into docks, behind her a group of fairies carry stretchers. They motion towards Hibiki and RJ, you all nod, and they place them on the stretchers, carrying them off to what you assume is the infirmary, Miyuki, Kitakami and Ooi follow behind them. You and Smugzuma stay behind, sitting on the floor, back to back. Smugzuma now flipping through a magazine she got from somewhere. "Will it always be like this, nanodesu?" You mutter under your breath. Surprisingly, Smugzuma replies. "It would be far worse if you didn't rush. Maybe it wouldn't be only fairies on those stretchers." You feel her shift her position a little bit, pulling something out of her pocket. It was a lollipop, nanodesu. She unwraps it and pops it into her mouth. "Of course, it's going to get worse from now on. Let's just say, you've broken the seal, desutte."
Your eyes widen at her words. You start shivering, but then you feel something poke your shoulder, you look over to see Smugzuma offering you a lollipop. "More people means more fun though, and I know you would risk your life for the girls you come across." You take the lollipop from her hand, and unwrap it, you pop it into your mouth, as a sweet strawberry flavor envelops your taste buds. "Thank you, nanodesu." Smugzuma nods, as you two continue lounging on the hard wooden floor of the docks.
>>
>>3421450

You and Smugzuma split up about thirty minutes later, when Smugzuma's head of command came to pick her up. He walks away, Smugzuma sitting on his shoulders. You are now left alone, but you don't allow your thoughts to consume you once again. Action made you avoid stewing in your own dark thoughts.
Of course, you still needed to think to decide where to go, after a bit of thinking you decide to-

>Go to the mess hall, you are not hungry, but maybe getting something to drink will help calm your nerves.

>Go to the library, you still want to read something, maybe improve some of your skills a little.

>Go to the infirmary, where you can find and talk to Hibiki and RJ.

>Go to the library, you still want to read something, maybe improve your skills a little.

You decide to go to the library, to maybe pick up a book and pick up on some new skills. You stand up from the floor, only to be pulled down again by something. Hawawawawawa, nanodesu! You turn around to see Imuya's hand, tightly gripping the hem of your top. "Heeeeya! Did you guys forget about me?" Hawawawawa, you did nanodesu! "N-Nodesu?" You stuttered, nanodesu!
"Nodesu?" Imuya tilts her head. "Nodesu!" She screams as she raises her hands to the air. Hawawawawawa! "Soooo, where are you going?" You reply. "To the library, nanodesu!" Imuya nods. "I'll go with you!" You tilt your head. "Hai? Nanodesu?" You and your submarine friend then start marching towards the library. Imuya is behind you, singing a song about a place called Orel and wanting to take a break. You don't understand, nanodesu.

Then, you realize, you don't know where exactly the library is. You start to panic, your eyes seeking help from the fairies passing by. When a fairy looks your way, you mouth "library" to them. Thankfully, the fairy understands. She nods and discreetly points you to a two story building in the distance. You thank the fairy in your heart.

Your march ends when you reach the building, where fairies enter in and out, carrying bundles of books and other reading materials. You see that one fairy is suspiciously eyeing everyone, hiding a suspiciously thin bundle of books under his arms. How suspicious, nanodesu!
You walk inside the building, there are fairies everywhere, huddled on chairs, browsing shelves, standing in line near the counter to check out books, manned by a fairy wearing glasses. The hustle and bustle from outside is gone, replaced the eerie silence of the library's inhabitants.
From the amount of books inside, you wouldn't know where to start, nanodesu!

You head to the counter, intent on asking the, a name you personally made, librarian fairy where to start if you wanted to learn new things. He "speaks" to you in between checking out the books that some fairies carry. Gesturing to the signs hanging above the aisles of bookshelves, while flexing his biceps.
You look up, and see topics that catch your interest, but you're here to learn more about-

>Combat. You don't know whether or not your lucky streak will continue, nanodesu! And it was always good to be prepared.

>Cooking. You always wanted to know how to cook, nanodesu! Maybe when you help with the kitchen, you wouldn't be a burden, nanodesu!

>Social Skills. Your past experiences with socializing were bad. A voice in your head is telling you to stop spilling spaghetti all over. You don't understand, nanodesu!

A roll will be asked when votes are called. Good luck, nanodesu!

>Social Skills. Your past experiences with socializing were bad. A voice in your head is telling you to stop spilling spaghetti all over. You don't understand, nanodesu!

>20, I concede. Time for a bonus you bastards, I bet you're sacrificing ALL the firstborns!

You turn back around to face Imuya, with the intent to tell her what you're planning to do. But the pink-haired submarine has disappeared from behind you, a cursory look around the library lets you see that she has now claimed one of the chairs, browsing through a magazine of somesort. Hawawawawa, how fast, nanodesu!
Seeing that Imuya was already making herself busy, you finally get to deciding on what skill you wished to enhance. Looking up back towards the signs, you hear the voices in your head, that tell you to stop spilling spaghetti, get louder and louder, until a booming chorus of noise makes you decide quickly. You head into the aisle that contains books about making you better at socializing, this makes the voices in your head stop.
You browse through the titles offered, with titles such as, "How to get along with anyone! A guide that even monkeys can understand!", "Social Skills 101: How to stop spilling Spaghetti", "Being Fun at parties: A guide" and the strangest is, "Lesbian Socialization: A guide on how to make things moist", you see that the last book has seen a lot of use, you feel the voices in your head return, telling you that you should take the last one, somehow you hear Ooi's name in the mix.

You decide to ignore the voices in your head, and grab the most normal one that you see, "How to get along with anyone! A guide that even monkeys can understand!". The book is quite thick, it sports a bright yellow cover with a crude drawing of a monkey reading a book below the title, something about the monkey feels off, it's definitely not the streaks of ink on its back the resemble tendrils. Ah! It's the monkey's sad face, nanodesu! You see that the author's name is a mere acronym, with the letters C.C.Q.M. written in script. Somehow, you feel mad at the mention of that name, nanodesu!
With the book firmly held in your hands, you find and sit in one of the chairs placed around tables in the library. Once you get yourself settled in, you start flipping through the pages. The book is an easy read, more so than expected, but the fact that it is riddled with grammatical errors and sometimes goes way off tangent, citing topics irrelevant to socializing, inane things that include, "10 pasta recipes that will be sure to capture the hearts of girls!", "Help! I'm being held ransom by an eldritch being, and she's telling me that she'll kill me if I don't stop giving breast enlargements!", and most the weirdest of all, "If you read this, you are already skilled."
Once you read the last line, you suddenly feel a mind-shattering headache. The world starts spinning, as you feel a massive load of information rush into your noggin.

>Inazuma now has a +1 bonus to socializing!
>>
>>3425986

You close the book, your ears ringing, if you weren't sitting, you bet you would be on the floor right now, shaking. You return your gaze to the book on the table. It has now changed. The cover is now a dull brown, its title changed to "Military Etiquette, how to get along with your fellow troops", its author now some generic name that you can't be bothered to memorize.
You decide that whatever happened before was a mere hallucination from your battle fatigue.

You return the book on the shelf you found it in, before walking out of the library. Imuya was now gone from her spot, probably wandering off to somewhere. You are now both physically and mentally fatigued, a small headache is throbbing in your head.
You needed to relax, and the best place to relax was-

>The Mess Hall. You could sit in the corner of the mess hall, away from the noise of the center, maybe gorge yourself on the sweets you retrieved from the containers.

>The Baths. You could use a soak, nanodesu. You're sure that it's mostly empty this time of day, far away from the morning and evening rush.

>Your room. You could always take a nap and wait until dinner, there was always time to do other things.

>The Baths. You could use a soak, nanodesu. You're sure that it's mostly empty this time of day, far away from the morning and evening rush.

You decide that the best place to relax was the baths, a nice warm bath would help you relax, and if you went there now, you would avoid the evening rush. You start walking towards your destination, the peaceful hustle and bustle of your base clears your mind.
You pass by many sights as you take your leisurely stroll towards the baths. There are fairies working on new buildings, to accommodate for the new fairies from both Hibiki and Imuya, which you realize didn't have any rooms assigned to them just yet. You also see some fairies clutching cups huddled in a group, drinking a clear liquid, which you assume is alcohol nanodesu.

You arrive in front of the baths, there are a few fairies strolling about topless, fresh from the baths, their muscles gleaming in the sunlight. Hawawawawawawawawawa, nanodesu! You retreat into the baths, which was divided into two, cloth with writings hang above the two sliding doors leading deeper within divided the bath goers, the writing on the left is "Ship" while the writing on the left is "Fairy".
You go inside the left door, sliding it open to reveal a dressing room, baskets line two shelves, inside them are towels and some soap. You look around and find no one inside the dressing room, the path further inside leads to another sliding door, preventing anyone to see into the bath. You quickly strip off your clothing, placing them inside the basket, before wrapping a bath towel around your naked form.
You then proceed into the bath, its design was weird, nanodesu. Half of it was indoors, which contained mostly small bathtubs which needed to be manually filled with water. The other half was open-air, it contained a single large pool, a wooden fence was all that separated you and the jungle behind the baths.

Inside, you see three very familiar faces. Preparing to get inside one of the indoor bathtubs was Imuya, still in her swimsuit as she constantly dived her head into the water, rising from it a few minutes later. That's weird, nanodesu!.
>>
>>3426212

Then you see in the outside area, Kitakami and Ooi lounging in the bath naked, talking about something, occasionally laughing to themselves about something. Hawawawawa, how bold, nanodesu!
Before you go into the water however, you still need to rinse yourself. You strip off the towel covering your torso before you sit on one of the stools surrounding a large wooden basin filled with water, with a multitude of small wooden basins scattered around it. You take one of these small basins, fill it with water from the larger basin, and rinse yourself, being careful to make sure that water soaks all of your body. You start washing yourself with soap, when you are done with the before-bath ritual, you stand up, the towel now covering your torso again, the water causes it to stick to your skin. You still aren't comfortable with walking around naked, nanodesu!

Something in your head tells you to practice your new social skills.

So you decide to-

>Get in the large bath with Kitakami and Ooi, you feel a glare from Ooi, but you're sure Kitakami wouldn't mind.

>Get in the small bathtub beside Imuya's, you're sure that the submarine wouldn't mind.

>You still aren't confident on your social skills, nanodesu! You decide to sit in one of the small indoor bathtubs located in the corner, allow yourself to find relaxation in silence.

>Get in the small bathtub beside Imuya's, you're sure that the submarine wouldn't mind.

You decide that trust that your social skills have indeed improved from reading that strange book. You walk towards a small bathtub to right of Imuya's. The tub is empty, probably because you have to fill it yourself, nanodesu. You look around the tub, the first thing you notice is the small hole in the middle, an old fashioned plug is attached firmly to a chain. You then notice the small pump in the side of the tub. First, you plug in the hole, then you begin to push and pull on the pump, hot water starts to stream out of the pipes, you almost jump from the sudden surge of hot water. You think as the bathtub starts filling with water. All of this seems very luxurious, nanodesu! You're very confused on how the fairies manage to construct something as luxurious as this. You decide to put that thought at the back of your mind, there was time for thinking later. You soak to your shoulders, the warm bath heating up your body, making your muscles relax. You stretch your hands, letting out a small gasp as some of your joints let out a satisfying pop. You turn to the submarine in the bathtub to the left of yours, but instead you are met with the face of one pink-haired submarine. HAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWA! SHE'S TOO CLOSE NANODESU!

You start to panic, but then immediately calm down. It seems that the book did work, nanodesu! "Heya!" Imuya waves her hand once, a grin appearing on her face. What is it with everyone around you and grinning, nanodesu? "H-Hello, nanodesu." You somehow manage to not avert your eyes while talking to her. You feel proud, nanodesu!
As you celebrate internally, Imuya continues peering into your face. You feel very embarrassed, nanodesu. "Wh-what is it, nanodesu?" You ask you tilt your head, Imuya follows suit. You tilt your head to the other side, she also follows. Hawawawawa, this is fun, nanodesu!
>>
>>3426702

You continue messing around for a good minute or two, before your vision starts spinning. You right your head, your eyes going around in circles, you feel that it was divine punishment for playing around, nanodesu! Imuya merely levels her gaze, unfazed. "You know." You turn your attention to her, at least you try to. The world was still spinning, nanodesu! Why were there two Imuyas, nanodesu! "You're quite beautiful." Imuya's bombshell of a statement shocks you to the core. Your cheecks flush red as your mind slowly melts into putty. HAWAWAWAWAWAWA, YOU DON'T SWING THAT WAY, NANODESU! MAYBE YOU DO, YOU'RE NOT SURE, NANODESU! HAWAWAWAWAWA!
You start flailing your arms around, with the intent to either hide your face, or to hit Imuya, who merely dodges your attempts. This continues on for another good minute or so, before you are reduced to a heavily panting mess, your arms are numb from flailing around are now on your sides, your body is now soaked with sweat, and the water around was starting to cool. You were going to the baths to relax, nanodesu! This was far from relaxation, nanodesu!
You start to open your mouth to voice your complaints, but then you suddenly feel two arms wrap around your chest, you feel two mounds of flesh press agaisnt your back. The modest volume of the perpetrator's chest tells you that it is neither RJ, which was unlikely since she was resting in the infirmary, nor was it Smugzuma, due to obvious reasons.
Turning your head to the side lets you see the grinning face of Miyuki. "Yo!"
You scream internally. It takes all your willpower from screaming externally. Your face is now very red. Your brain is now very much putty, nanodesu.

>18! The book realy DID work, nanodesu!

By some miracle, you manage to retain your grip on reality. You breathe slowly, calming yourself as you focus on stuff other than Miyuki's presence behind you. Your cheeks start to return their usual color, but it still returns a shade of red. "T-that was surprising, nanodesu!" You manage to blurt out. "Gotcha good, didn't I?" Miyuki lets go off you, before settling into the tub with you. It was now very tight nanodesu, well it wasn't that tight, but from the look of it, even a small movement coming from either you or Miyuki would let your legs touch underwater.

You feel a stare coming from your side. You turn to Imuya, who is cupping her chin in thought. She then gently slams her fist into her open palm, her eyes glisten with an understanding of some sort. "Ah! You're a les-" the wooden basin that you throw at her flies in such a beautiful trajectory that your gun crew would be proud. Imuya takes the hit right onto her forehead, and somehow stumbles into her own bath tub, before sinking into the water. "D-Did you kill her?" Miyuki asks as she shifts slightly into the water, bracing herself for something. You're pretty sure that Imuya was just acting, nanodesu. So you reply, "I hope it did, nanodesu." Hawawawawawa, that wasn't what you were supposed to say, nanodesu! But somehow, that felt relaxing, nanodesu. No, wait, it didn't, nanodesu!
Miyuki looks at you in terror. "Inazuma! Your eyes are scary!" You try to explain to her that Imuya was fine. She doesn't relax until Imuya rises from the tub, seemingly fine, except for the small bump on her forehead. You apologize frantically, bowing deeply and saying that it won't happen again, that something came over you. Imuya accepts the apology, stating that it was her fault anyways, for making such a tasteless joke.
>>
>>3426834

Then you hear footsteps as Kitakami and Ooi, who is firmly wrapped around Kitakami's arm, approach you, curious about the earlier commotion. Miyuki explains to them what happened, with confirmation from Imuya. Kitakami nods sagely, her hand grasping the cusp of her chin with her hand. After the explanation, Kitakami and Ooi settle in one of the free bath tubs, the one to the right of yours to be exact. Kitakami and Ooi get to work on setting up their own bath tub. Silence returns to the baths, only the distant splash of water coming from the fairies' side of the bath, and the occasional ring from bamboo strinking rock. You don't remember the name of that particular garden device, nanodesu.

Miyuki shifts uncomfortably in the silence. She decides to break the ice. "Soooo, how did the sortie go?" She turns to you, waiting for a reply. "Horrible, nanodesu." You state bluntly. "At first, we met a torpedo squadron of one Light Cruiser and two Destroyers, who were engaging Hibiki. RJ dealt with them promptly, nanodesu. We met Hibiki, and were sailing back to base when we met a Battleship leading another Torpedo Squadron of one Light Cruiser and two Destroyers. If it weren't for Imuya arriving, we would've been in serious trouble, nanodesu." You turn to look at Miyuki, and see a very shocked expression on her face, you turn towards Kitakami and Ooi, and see that Ooi has the same expression, while the usually laid-back Kitakami has her eyes wide open. Hawawawawawa, did you do something weird, nanodesu?!

You turn to look at Imuya, and she looks at you with the same expression that she always has, but she sees your distress. She merely shrugs, she doesn't know how to comprehend the situation as well, nanodesu! Miyuki is the first one to regain her composure, and clears her throat, shocking both Kitakami and Ooi back to reality. "D-Did I do something weird, nanodesu?" You tilt your head peering into Miyuki's face. She turns away, seemingly interested with the far wall. You follow her gaze, but see nothing. What was there, nanodesu? "I-It's just that, that's the first time you spoke that long, Inazuma. And with only two nanodesus as well!" Miyuki turns back to you, a grin already on her face as she gives you a thumbs up. "I don't know what happened, but good job!"
Hawawawawa, you didn't expect it to be that strange, nanodesu!
>>
>>3426838

You all enjoy your time in the bath, as you retail to them in further detail what you experienced during the sortie, leaving out the detail of you sobbing in Hibiki's arms. Something in your head tells you that something was missing from that scene, something vital, but you don't know what was missing, so you decide to ignore that feeling, nanodesu.
Soon, you all get out of the bath and get dressed. When you return to the dressing room, you find your clothes neatly folded, from the scent you can conclude that they were washed, nanodesu! Gleefully, you put on your clothes, not reminding yourself the fact that someone else, presumably a fairy, washed your underwear, nanodesu. Hopefully, it was one of your female crew, nanodesu.
Everyone else starts to head towards their own destinations. Miyuki tells everyone that she was heading for the mess hall, to help prepare for the diner rush. You wave her as you all wish her good luck. Kitakami and Ooi, well mostly Kitakami, tell you that they were heading to the library to get some reading done before dinner. You wave them goodbye as well. That leaves you with Imuya, who you just realized was still wearing the same swimsuit she wore in the baths. It was still dripping, nanodesu! "Hawawawawawawa! Why are you still wearing that, nanodesu! You'll get a cold, nanodesu!" You flail your arms around, as you panic. "Don't worry, submarines don't get a cold." I'm pretty sure that saying went with idiots instead of submarines, nanodesu! "And besides, I'm more comfortable like this. Don't mind me!" Imuya raises her hands into the sky, forming a V. You feel the rays of the later afternoon sun become a little bit brighter. You're pretty sure that was just a hallucination, nanodesu.

Then, you realize that you didn't have a destination of your own, and seeing how Imuya wasn't scurrying off to somewhere else, it seems that she was intent on following you around.

Hawawawawa, where do you go, nanodesu?!

>To the infirmary, to visit Hibiki and RJ. Maybe they would appreciate you and Imuya's company.

>To the mess hall, maybe Miyuki would be glad for extra hands in her workforce, even if you didn't know how to cook, nanodesu.

>Back to your room for some peace and quiet. This would mean convincing Imuya to leave your side though. (There will be a roll, but I'll count it as a social skill roll. Damn, that +1 really is seeing use today, isn't it?)

>To the infirmary, to visit Hibiki and RJ. Maybe they would appreciate you and Imuya's company, but a detour to library to get something for them to read would be good.

You turn to Imuya and inform her of your destination. She nods, as you begin to march back towards the library, Imuya sings the same song she did when you were marching to library before. Somehow, the name Orel is really starting to ring a bell. You immerse yourself in thinking, when you return to your senses, you are already in front of the library, but you still haven't figured out the mystery behind the place in Imuya's song. Then you realize that Imuya was still dripping wet. You turn around to see that Imuya is now very much dry, almost like she wasn't in the baths at all. You stand there, shocked. Imuya merely shrugs, before walking pass you into the library. You follow behind her, in the corner of your vision you see Kitakami and Ooi sitting beside each other, Kitakami is reading a small book, while Ooi is browsing through what seems to be a massive tome, with wear and tear apparent on its form. That was weird, nanodesu. Both you and Imuya approach the counter, where the librarian was now sitting, writing on a piece of paper, as the afternoon rush was now done, the fairies either back at work or lounging around waiting for dinnertime.
You ask him about what you could bring to the infirmary to entertain the sick. He doesn't look up from his writing, but he does point to one of the aisles. A cursory glance at the sign hanging above it lets you know that it's the storybook section, nanodesu. How quaint, nanodesu! You begin browsing through the collection of storybooks. most are picture books, rarely are there any word heavy books inside the selection, but most surprising of all were the pop-up books, nanodesu! You are immersed in your browsing, when you feel someone poke your shoulders. You see Imuya holding up what seems to be a pop-up book with the title "My shoulders are stiff, I wonder why." The title istelf was already alarm bells, before Imuya opens it up, making the familiar sight of GIGADESUS appear in front of you. Somehow, you manage to control your rage, before telling Imuya to shove it back where it was, nanodesu.
After finding an adequate selection of books, you proceed to the counter. The librarian fairy finally looks up and does the paperwork quickly, before returning back to whatever he was writing. The slip tells you that the books are due in three days, and any wear and tear will have an adequate punishment in meal servings. How scary, nanodesu!

You bow to the librarian before you leave the library, you are carrying one of the stacks while Imuya carries the other. You should've brought a bag, nanodesu! You and Imuya begin your march towards the infirmary, Imuya again singing her song. A few minutes later, you reach the infirmary, both of you get inside. You walk softly and as silently as you can when you are in inside.
Inside, you find RJ sleeping soundly in a bed, drool spilling out of her snoring mouth. Hibiki meanwhile is wide awake, speaking with Smugzuma of all people. Hibiki and Smugzuma notice your arrival. Hibiki smiles at you, while Smugzuma waves her hand once at you, before turning back to Hibiki in order to talk to her. You gesture for the books. Hibiki nods. You and Imuya place the books on a nearby table then turn to leave, but before you can get out, Hibiki calls out to you. "Inazuma, stay. I have something to talk about with you." You nod. Anything for your sister, nanodesu. Imuya bows and makes her leave, reading the situation.
You move towards Hibiki, who motions for her to close the curtains. You oblige, finding it a little bit weird. You take a seat beside Smugzuma, and let yourself get comfortable.
Hibiki turns her gaze from both you and Smugzuma, almost like she's pointing out the differences between each of you two. There are definitely two BIG differences, nanodesu.
An uncomfortable silence wraps the infirmary, broken only by RJ's snoring. Then suddenly, Hibiki whispers as she glares at you both.
"I'm pretty sure I only have four sisters."

That's it for today folks! I'm going to the next city over to get something delivered to my old folk's, and I'm going to meet up with weebs in the afternoon to play weeb card games. I probably will take a break on Sunday as well, and if the thread is either on Page 9 or has fallen off completely, I'll make a new thread on Monday, 10:00 JST~15:00 JST, depending if I paid my internet bills by then! If not, then Nanodesu! Quest will be late by a day or so!
See you folks, and I hope you enjoyed this long ass thread, and please don't hate me for ending it in a cliff hanger, but cliff hangers are good, nanodesu!
Your deranged, Inazuma-obsessed and almost always grammatically incorrect QM signing off for a bit!
