First post claimed for the revolution.

You are still in the Arsonist’s “base”. More than headquarters they seem to be abandoned buildings repurposed to house troubled youths. Still, you don’t feel completely safe.

Even with all of your social ineptitude you can tell from their looks that most of the thugs loitering this place don’t trust you.

The only reason why the Arsonist’s subordinates are going for your throat right now is because Jeanne brought you with her.

Mimikyu would definitely disapprove of you being here.

Deciding to save some time, you told Jeanne you would get the stuff she needed while the girl cooked breakfast for all the remaining gang members. A bit reluctantly she gave you a key to the Arsonist’s room and the combination to his safe.

You arrive at the Arsonist’s room, the first thing you noticed is that is one of the few rooms that still have a door and the only one that seems to be locked. At the bottom, there’s a small pet door just big enough for Vulpix to enter.

The room is surprisingly tidy, you guess Jeanne has been doing a good job keeping this place clean, the first thing you notice is a map of the region, scribbled on bright red letters it reads “Nuzzle trafficking” marked with the locations of different gangs and criminal groups as well as various places of interest, a couple of them are already crossed out.

Seems like the Arsonist was hunting down gangs related to drug trafficking for whatever reason.

As you examine the map, Houndour calls you out, he has found the Arsonist safe, you out in the combination “352001”, the iron door opens revealing its contents. A bag full of a LUDICROUS amount of money, a notebook with the words “HITLIST/Notes” scribbled on top, and an old photo of three people with a Litten.

>Glance through the Arsonist’s Hitlist.
>Pocket some of the money, ($50,000)

You grab the notebook with the intent of drawing a dick on it, unfortunately, you don’t have a pen on you right now, besides you weren’t sure on what kind of genitals you would crudely scribble, sure human is the way to go but maybe something more reptilian would leave a stronger impact.
Instead, you decide to flick through the hit list, the first pages contain various miscellaneous notes like “Recruitment plans” and “outfits to coerce Jeanne into wearing” (there’s barely any Poké-cosplay in there so you quickly lose interest).
There’s also a section simply titled “Allies”, there’s only two picture one of Jeanne and one of you.

In a similar fashion, the “Hit-List” has pictures of almost every objective. The first one in the list is “Dad” whose name is already crossed out with red ink.

Huh, that’s a bit worrying.

Besides that, in the Hit-list there’s “Fake-Arsonist”, “Cubone-Mask” the revolutionary leader, a bunch of people you’ve never heard before who seem to be gang leaders involved with drug-trade, some kids all from the same high school, and at the end a familiar face. “Diane” the bounty hunter you met back at Ibarra Village. She’s wearing the same uniform as the rest of the students on the hit list.

>You’ve memorized the name and faces on the hit list!

As you wonder, what’s the connection between the bounty hunter and the Arsonist, you feel some shuffling from under the bed. A sleepy Litten just woke up and is slowly approaching you, he seems well fed but his tiny body sports some old-scars across his back and face, his left eye is missing, and he walks with a fairly obvious limp. The moment he notices you he becomes excited.

[Litten]:”You came back! I was worried about you! Hey, where is everyone else?

The small feline Pokémon stops for a moment as he starts to sniff your scent, his initial excitement turns to aggressiveness the moment he realizes you aren’t the Arsonist, hissing as menacingly as his tiny self is able to while letting out small *Embers* from his mouth as a warning sign.

[Litten]: “You are not HIM!, stop rummaging through his stuff! I have to call for help!

This must be the Litten Jeanne was talking about, and it’s one of the things you were supposed to bring back to her, she told you he was wary of strangers but trusted your ability to befriend mons to be enough to deal with him.

He doesn’t seem to realize you can understand everything he says.

>Have Loudred knock him out before he starts a racket.
>Talk things out, convince him you are not a threat. (Requires roll: medium difficulty)
>Get him to calm down, ask him about the Arsonist and the list, maybe you can get some info out of him. (Requires roll: Hard difficulty)

You drop to the ground, belly up, presenting yourself in a non-threatening manner and completely open to attacks. This act of submissiveness takes the Litten by surprise, he eases up and stops his hissing.
Once you get him to calm down, you use your Poké-communication skills to tell him you are the Arsonist friend, using the photo in his notes to prove it and tell him the reason why you are here. The Litten seems convinced “He did mention some guy that could talk to Pokémon

[Litten]: Does that mean, he’s not coming back?

[Percy]: Well, not for some time at least.

The Litten seems disheartened, staring at the ground he seems lost in thoughts. A concerned Loudred approaches him in big-sisterly fashion asking him if he’s alright.

[Litten]: I’m fine, just take me with the girl

The feline mon tries to play it off, but he seems really distressed at the notice of the Arsonist arrest. After you get all of the Arsonist’s things in your backpack, you go to look for Jeanne.

>Obtained: Arsonist’s private stash./ Hitlist/ A photograph.
>Litten joined the group!

You arrive at a shanty looking canteen where Jeanne and some of the grunts are busy serving lunch to the members of the Arsonist’s group. The tough-looking youths are quick to devour the meals and rush into line to get seconds. Instead of a criminal organization, the place looks more like a soup kitchen.

At the sight of Jeanne, the Litten rushes towards her side, clinging to her leg, the girl stops serving food to carry him and comfort him. “It’s okay, he didn’t want to leave you behind, he’ll be fine, I promise.”

Standing at the entrance of the dining place, you couldn’t help but feel out of the place, one of the grunts that defended you when you arrived acknowledges you, inviting to sit down with them, even though most of the other members are still glaring at you.

>Tell Jeanne to hurry it up so you can take her back home.
>Sit down with the grunts, maybe you can learn something useful from them.
>Let’s go outside, maybe you can talk to the wild mons surrounding this place.
>"Alright, if someone has a problem with me being here, stand up! I'll take on anybody" (Challenge the grunts to some battling.)

Deciding to practice those deficient people skills of yours, and perhaps learn something useful you approach the thugs sitting on a table. The girl whom you met at the entrance and mistook you for the actual arsonist seems pretty thrilled. “See? The fucker’s a carbon copy of the Boss!” her companion seems less interested,

You think her name was “Theresa” or something like that. Thanks to your previous introduction the girl thinks you are the Arsonist brother and bombards you with questions about the guy, “Where did he come from?”, “Why did he turn to crime?” “Does he have more family?” “How old is him?” “When’s his birthday?” “When was the first time he set a building on fire?” “It’s true that he can talk to Pokémon” and some other personal question that you don’t know the answer too.

As you fumble through your words trying to find an excuse to not answer her one of the other grunts stops her.

[Grunt#1]: Drop it, T, the guy won’t tell you shit. Even if he’s related to the Boss, he is not one of us.

[Grunt#2]: Yeah, look at this fuckin nerd, he can’t even answer you back.

[Grunt#1]: Man, why don’t you take your ass somewhere else? We’ve got some important things to discuss. Go mind your own business.

[Theresa]: You mean the rescue mission? The raid? Or that giant fuckin Garchomp?

[Grunt#1]: Dammit Theresa! Don’t mention our business in front of this chump! Hey, why are you still here? Get the fuck out!

[Loudred]: Are you being bullied Percy?

[Percy]: N-n-no.

You are not a nerd, nor a wimp, you are Percival Williams and you are quite the TOUGH GUY if you are being honest, you've been beaten up countless times, you were shanked by Snorunts, got your arm broken by a Tyrannitar and got almost choked to death by a psychic.

[Victoria]: Sorry.

Don't worry about it, Vicky.

You stand up, roaring like a Cranidos, decided to knock yourself out, until the pain in your back stops you for a moment. You hesitate for a moment and the psychic in your head interjects.

[Victoria]: Are you sure this is a good idea? Cause it seems incredibly stupid.

I know this type of people, stuff like this impress them. The point is, that I’m are going to prove to them that I'm not messing around. In nature, there are various species of Pokémon that use similar types of intimidation, Tauros, Boufoulant, Gogoat, Bagon, Cranidos before they went extinct among others.

[Victoria]: Must I remind you that you aren’t a Pokémon?

Ah shit, she’s right.

You stand there, dumbfounded, as everyone on the table waits for you to do something. You excuse yourself and get out of there.

Outside of the canteen, you managed to find a nice secluded spot. Leaning against a wall, you start to feel embarrassed at yourself

[Houndour]: What was your plan back there?

[Percy]: I was going to bash my head against the table to get their respect, and probably a concussion.

All of your team, including Kadabra seem to be worried and confused at your current state of mind.

[Houndour]: Why? Partner, you really need Mimikyu around to stop hurting yourself. Are you alright?

[Percy]: I think the stress is finally getting to me, the Behemoths, White Veil, the revolutionaries. The Arsonist, the imminent destruction of Adage Village. Rescuing Vicky. Mimikyu getting hurt. Getting the badges. Everything is a bit too much.

[Kadabra]: Maybe, you need to take it easy for a while, and stop getting involved in everyone’s problem. I could read their minds for you, just stop trying to get yourself hurt.

After a couple of minutes, Houndour returns with the information.

[Houndour]: Dumbasses were discussing how to call their pack, or if they should wait for their leader to return to decide on a name. Why do humans insist on labeling everything? Makes no sense. But I heard some useful things.

First of all, he learned the actual location of this place, you are near the center of the region, High-Alva city seems to be the closest thing to this place, located east of here. Also, there seems to be a giant Garchomp somewhere surrounding this area, the Arsonist group has had a few encounters with him while scouting the place, he’s fast, vicious and dangerous. He seems to be protecting one of the revolutionary’s bases. He doesn’t seem to have a Trainer, but a couple of grunts have seen him with a brown-skinned, short-haired and barely dressed girl.

The Arsonist was planning to conduct a raid to the revolutionaries raid once he got enough members on his group, the grunts where saying that the Arsonist already found a way to deal with the giant, man-killing Garchomp, but Houndour couldn’t hear what it was, he heard them mention something about a “Special capturing device” he stole.

But since the Arsonist was arrested, they decided to put the operation to a halt until they figure out how to get him out of prison.

As Houndour finishes relating his finding, Jeanne approaches you, still holding the scar-covered Litten on her arms. He seems to be at peace with her.

[Jeanne]: I’m t-t-terribly sorry Percy, I didn’t mean to make you wait so much. But I kind of got caught up saying goodbye to everyone

[Jeanne]: They weren’t too mean to you right? I know they can be a handful, but they aren’t so b-b-bad once you get to know them!

[Jeanne]: Ehm, y-y-you ready to go?

>”Sure, let’s get going!”

The situation regarding Adage Village is not good, as the day of the bug-invasion slowly approaches. And you haven’t really prepared for it, the situation could turn ugly so you need all the help you can get, even if it’s from a group of pyromaniacal homeless teenagers.
Even if most of their group and their leader was arrested back during the throwdown at the mall, there’s still about 20 to 30 delinquents that could be potential allies in the upcoming conflict.

[Percy]:Actually, I need a favor

[Jeanne]: Sure, thing Percy! Is it about your back? I can treat you once we got to the church…

[Percy]: No, listen to me.

You explain Jeanne the situation and ask her to recruit the reminders of the criminal group for your cause. While the girl seems to understand the gravity of the situation but still seems indecisive.

[Percy]: They seem proficient at setting things on fire…

[Jeanne]W-w-well, I’m not sure about this. I-I-I want to help you Percy but, with the boss in jail, everyone is worried about the team’s future. There’s talk of dissolving the team, and rescue missions…

[Jeanne]:(Whispering) A-a-also we are the ones responsible for getting the Boss- I mean, the Arsonist in jail, so asking for their help, feels a little bit…wrong? I know it sounds dumb but…I can't help but feel a little bit bad (whisper)

[Percy]: Aren’t you their Admin? Shouldn’t you be their New “Pack leader” since the Arsonist isn’t here?

[Jeanne]: S-s-supposedly so, but I just cook, clean and tend to their injuries I’m not sure if they’ll listen to me...

Is hard to hide your disappointment, just like that you are back to square one. You should look into taking a visit to the Arsonist whenever you can. Letting out a sigh you turn to face Jeanne.

[Percy]: Sorry for bothering you with this, I can talk to the Arsonist myself.

[Jeanne]: Ehm-, eh-, I-, N-.

Jeanne eyes turns to the floor, she opens her mouth but words don’t come out, is as if they were stuck in her throat, the only thing she can muster are small accidental whimpers.

[Jeanne]: N-n-n-no. I’m the one that’s sorry, I know how important this is, but still I can’t do anything to help you…

[Jeanne]: Not now, nor back then…

[Jeanne]: When we were kids I’ve never managed to get a word out of you, after years of trying. Still, I liked to think you needed me, or that I was making a difference...

[Jeanne]: And then you suddenly arrived, and you are all better. I w-w-wasn’t good enough, even after trying my b-best.

[Jeanne]: And now, that you are trying to save all those people, and you are telling me you need my help. But I can’t…

[Jeanne]: I can’t convince anyone of doing anything, I can’t fight at all. I c-c-can’t do anything.

[Jeanne]: Ever since we met, the only thing I’ve done is put myself in danger and have you risk yourself to rescue me…

[Jeanne]: I-I-I’m just useless. Dead-weight…

[Percy]: Eh, I wouldn’t call you useless, I mean at worst you were a minor inconvenience. And I kind came up with both of your rescue plans at the last second, so don’t worry, it was no biggie.

[Prince]: Pa, please have some tact.

[Percy]: Oh, Wurmples, sorry I didn’t mean that in a bad way, you okay Jeanne?

[Jeanne]: Y-y-yes.

The girl was in fact, not okay. You can tell she was choking on her own words as her lips quiver while trying to deliver her answer. Her eyes start to water, and she does her best to hold back her tears, wiping her face with her hand trying to recompose herself.
She’s not doing a very good job.
Crap, you don’t like to deal with crying girls.

From a hall nearby you can hear a plethora of loud voices calling for you.

“Did you just make the Team Admin cry?” “You piece of shit!” “Nobody makes her cry!” “We’ll rip you to pieces asshole!”

Jeanne stands up, trying to calm down the grunts, but her pained expression and her choking on her own words aren’t doing much besides riling them up more. As they rush to you, you decide to take action.

>Alright Kadabra, time to get the heck out of here. (Teleport away)
>Try to clear things up yourself. (DC: Very-hard)
>Let Jeanne deal with the grunts.
>Try to make her stop crying! (DC:??? Write-ins may help)

>Hug Jeanne to you as tight as you can and move your body between her and the goons. Sure they're going for you and not her, but at least she can look at them over your shoulder that way. And maybe hugging can snap her out of it? Who knows! Normal people are still somewhat out of your understanding, but that's getting better every day!

[Percy]: Guys, human girl is crying, mob is angry what do I do?

[Loudred]: Comfort her!

You stand up, putting yourself between the grunts and Jeanne and proceed to wrap her around your arms, tightly holding her close to you. As she rests her head on your shoulder you notice the faint sweet floral scent. The girl clings to you as her sobbing becomes louder and her crying more intense.

“It’s okay, everything is okay, there’s no reason to cry, you aren’t that bad”, you try to put on your most reassuring and comforting voice. But it doesn’t seem to be helping, as you softly whisper into her ear her crying only becomes more frantic. You aren’t completely sure if this is working.

[Percy]: I’ve heard hugging people makes thing better. Is it working?

The girl answers with undecipherable sobbing, you aren’t sure if she’s even trying to say something or if she has given up

[Percy]: Ok, I guess it isn’t. Maybe, you could help me out a little bit here Jeanne? I feel like we are sending the wrong message to the grunts.

[Grunt] : Hey, who are you calling grunts you asshole?

The crowd of grunts is still calling your name, they are out for blood, but they seem hesitant since you got their Admin in your arms, instead of directly attacking you they resort to name-calling, prompting you to let her go. “Get your hands out of our Admin!” “Don’t you dare do anything to her you pervert!” “Let her go you coward, so I can have my Lairon tear your limbs apart” and while you would like to see the physical prowess of a trained Lairon live, you would prefer to not lose any limbs. So, you do your best to calm the rabid group in the most eloquent manner you can come up with.

[Percy]: Could you all shut up? We are having a moment here.

[Jeanne]: I-I-It’s okay guys, he didn’t do anything to me… please don’t be mad at him.

Jeanne, who’s slowly becoming more recomposed starts to defend you, her weak voice hidden between sobs and delivered with teary eyes and a remorseful expression is enough to have the group back off. Her pitiful expression makes most of the gang members look remorseful, as if they can’t retort to her. Terrifying ability, maybe this is why the Arsonist took her in the first place.

[Jeanne]:I t-t-t-thought you didn’t like human contact.

[Percy]: I still don’t (except from Eli), this is actually really uncomfortable for me.

Jeanne is quick to let go of you, making some distance between her and you, her face is red and flustered and her teary eyes make you feel strangely guilty for reasons you cannot quite describe. She goes to the grunts and explains the whole situation regarding Adage Village and the Queen of bugs, the band of thugs practically volunteers to help you on the job, or more precisely help Jeanne, they make it very clear that they still don’t like or trust you, but, they can’t say no their Admin. They still would like to disclose it with their boss first, but they aren’t sure if they are going or be able to talk to him since he’s still locked up.

>The remainders of the Arsonist group are willing to help!

After Jeanne calmed down, your little group finally parted way from the Arsonist base. Using Kadabra’s teleportation Jeanne and you find yourself in Madeleine town in no time at all. Jeanne has been quiet for most of the trip, she seems ashamed from her little outburst. As you traverse the streets of the quaint little town you wonder if you should try and break this uncomfortable silence.

>Remain silent.
>Ask Jeanne about the Arsonist. How much does she know about him?
>Talk to the Arsonist’s Litten, you want to know about his scars and missing eye.
>Check the photo you got from the Arsonist’s safe, maybe Jeanne knows about it.
> (To Jeanne) “So, what are you planning to do now?”
>Why do you care so much for them? You are aware that they are a gang, and that they kidnapped you right?
>Something on your mind? Let Jeanne led the convo.

You noticed a park nearby and suggest to make a quick stop before you get to Jeanne’s home. You and the girl sit on one of the benches as the silence between the two of you continues.
The place is seemingly empty besides a couple of kids playing carefreely on the swings, you think that the sight might be nostalgic to most, but as someone who never had friends like those before you really can’t relate. The closest thing to a childhood friend you ever had (besides Pokémon) is the quiet girl sitting next to you, and when you think about it, you may have been a really shitty friend to her.

And you would like to try and change that.

[Percy]: Hey, you alright? You look like Pidgeot who just came back to her nest to find out an Ekans just ate every single one of her eggs.

[Jeanne]: T-t-that’s an oddly specific example.

[Percy]: It’s more common than you think, have you ever heard the anguished cries of a first-time mother who was just robbed of the future she was brightly looking forward to?

[Percy]: I did, like weekly. We’ve got a DENSE Ekans population back in North Pass. Nature can be brutal. Poké-brutal.

[Percy]: Wait, sorry, I’m trying to be supportive here and lend an ear to your problems. Ehm, something on your mind?

[Jeanne] Well, I just embarrassed myself crying in front of everyone who had an ounce of respect for me and did even worse in front of you…

[Jeanne]: And now I can’t stop thinking about the Pidgeot mother and it’s making me feel worse…

[Jeanne]: Oh dear lord, I’m getting teary-eyed just thinking about those poor Pidgey, you must really think I am pathetic…

[Jeanne]: Everything I do seems to have no real impact on anyone…And lately, I feel like I want to change that. Be more like, you know. Like you two. Both you and the Arsonist.

[Jeanne]: You and he fended off those terrorists, he was stopping gangs involved in drug trafficking, and you, well you took me back home.

Houndor starts complaining about how he and the other Pokémon were the ones doing the “Heavy lifting” regarding those situations, but he’s thoroughly ignored by Jeanne, primarily because she can’t understand what the canine is saying. Instead, the girl goes on.

[Jeanne]: And when you hugged me back there, I don’t know how to say it, but it felt meaningful. It made me a crying mess, but it almost made so happy, knowing that you would go out of your way to try and comfort me.

[Jeanne]: I just, I just would like to be less me, and more like, you two…

[Jeanne]: Hey, can I be a little selfish for a moment?

The girl looks at you with a melancholic smile, without any sort of warming she starts closing the distance between the two of you and rests her head against your shoulder while wrapping your arm around hers. You try to softly move your limb out of her grasp but she doesn’t let go, instead, she smiles peacefully while and closes her eyes. She apologizes for making you listen to all of her nonsense as she leans against you.

She looks really peaceful.
And you are feeling uncomfortable as fuck.

A bit of time passes. You are just waiting for her to get tired of hogging your arm so you can get going, instead, she hits you with a question.

[Jeanne]: So, what do you think? What should I change?

>Why the fuck would anyone want to be like you? Or worse, like the Arsonist? Tell Jeanne just how stupid it is.
>She doesn’t need to change anything, she’s good enough as she is.
>Houndour’s right, you would be nowhere without your mons, so what she needs is to form a team and start training them seriously!
>She really needs to work on her personality, if she keeps trying to please every single living being, the world is going to eat her alive.

Don't change who you are, change your perception of yourself. You're a gentle, caring person, and the world needs people like that.

And then, y'know, tack on some Pokemon analogy about how vital Chansey are to an ecosystem.

You free yourself of the girl’s grasp with a sudden and brash movement that takes her by surprise. Decided, you firmly grab her by the shoulders and look her directly into her eyes. She looks at you confused as if she were expecting you to do something, her face becoming slightly flushed.

[Percy]: Jeanne, that’s easily the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

There’s anger in your voice, and with good reason. Changing to be more like you or the Arsonist? That’s a terrible idea, and you make sure to make it as clear as possible to her. Even when you are trying to do “the right thing” you always end up putting yourself and those surrounding you in danger, your friends, your team, Jeanne herself, and the Arsonist is even worse in that regard!

Jeanne is shook, she tries to protest, saying that you shouldn’t sell yourself short and that you were the one to make a real difference in her life instead of the other way around, for the first time since you met her she starts to raise her voice, but you quickly shut her up with Poké-facts.

[Percy]: You know how important are Chansey to an environment? Their benevolent nature has an important function in nature. Helping and aiding the less fortunate mons, no matter the species. Whenever a group of mons is started to be overhunted by predators, they take on the burden of making sure that the hunted group doesn’t disappear from the area they inhabit, not until they recover in numbers and strength. And by doing so, Chansey’s and their evolutionary lines help maintain the balance of an ecosystem.

[Percy]: Their kindness may seem foolish but is by far their best attribute. Just by caring about others, they make a difference in our world.

[Percy]: And honestly, I think the world could use people like that, like Chansey, like you.

[Percy]: The only thing I would like you to change, is the way you look at yourself.

[Percy]: You are too good of a person to be truth, honestly, I was half expecting you to have some terrible and dark side to you, like that you were only pretending to be so nice to manipulate others, or that you liked hurting mons for fun, or that you were in a cult or be legally insane. But honestly, you are one of the best persons I know.

[Jeanne]: Do you… do you really think that of me?

[Percy]: Does the poison produced by Haunter’s salivary glands cause convulsion on humans when it comes in contact with their skin?

[Jeanne]: Ehm, I don’t kn-

[Percy]: The answer is yes.

Jeanne didn’t retort anymore. She gladly accepted your words with a warm smile and teary eyes. “If you think that of me, then there must be some truth to it.”

>You’ve become closer to Jeanne!

After your little "heart to heart" with Jeanne, the two of you continued onwards to the church. You didn’t talk much on your way there, but by no means was the mood heavy. The girl clung onto your arms as you walked, still overjoyed by the fact you were letting her get so near you without scratching or biting her. Which happened quite frequently when you were kids.

Still, you wished you could be walking side to side, arms entwined with someone else. A certain pink-haired girl.

You tried to talk a bit more with Jeanne, but you find yourself a bit lost after everything that happened today. You ended up apologized by your lack of conversation skills, but she told you that it was fine and that she “enjoyed those little moments of silence between the two of you”, she said it made her feel nostalgic.

Madeleine town is quite small, before you know it you are standing in Saint Hernan’s Church, the place where Jeanne lives. She invites you to come inside so she can treat your hurt back. But something makes her hesitate at the last moment.

[Jeanne]: I don’t know if you remember him, but the old priest can get a little…Intense. So maybe, I could treat your back when we are, you know…ehm, alone, just the two of us.

[Jeanne]:Oh, but you can come in if you want! I think the old man would be glad to see you!

She fidgets with her fingers a tad nervously as she expects your answer.

>Enter the church with Jeanne.
>Say goodbye to her, you’ll meet her tomorrow at the beach anyways and you got stuff to do in the meantime.
>Other/write-in.

Also, the girl is getting really clingy with you. You are starting to feel your arm get a bit numb.
>Alright, time to put some boundaries! You don’t want to cause misunderstandings. “Jeanne, you are a really swell girl but..”
>Just let her grab your arm, is not like she’s hurting anyone.
>Tell Jeanne you are still not comfortable with so much human contact.
>” Is this because I look like the Arsonist? Because it’s really weird”

As you approach the church Jeanne notices your visible discomfort over her hogging your arm. She asks if you are really alright with so much contact. You tell her that you don’t mind, even if it’s making you a bit uncomfortable, she seems to be enjoying it. “This is nothing, I really don’t mind…”

You can’t get all of your words out before the girl jumps in front of you, hugging you as tightly as her delicate arms permit her. Her head resting in your neck as she presses her soft body against you. “Thanks for today, Percy” she says in the most earnest way possible.

[Percy]:Hey, can I ask you something? Why do you do all of this? I mean, it’s great that you want to help others but really, nobody is forcing you to do it

[Jeanne]:I…I think we should make the best out of our lives, our time here is short so every moment counts.

[Jeanne]: Afterall, you can’t help someone once they are dead, and the dead can’t do anything for the living…

[Percy]: Sorry, what was that?

[Jeanne]: O-oh, d-d-don’t mind me! Sometimes I-I-I just say things without thinking them t-t-t-trough! Of course, you can’t help someone who’s already dead, that’s obvious! S-silly me.

[Jeanne]: Goodbye Percy, I’m looking forward to tomorrow!

Before you part ways, she can’t contain herself and assaults you again with another hug. Seriously, what’s wrong with this girl? Has she never been hugged by someone before?

She softly whispers, “Take care, okay?” into your ear before letting you go. You hand her the Arsonist’s stuff you got from his safe, she’ll keep the things safe for the meanwhile. As she walks towards the old church, she waves you off cheerfully.

[Victoria]: Is she gone?

Yeah, she just left.

[Victoria]That’s a relief. I still think you should have left her to her own devices, the less we interact with her the better.

Vicky! Jeanne is a friend! She only means the best for everyone, even for people that may not deserve it. What makes you say that?

[Victoria]: Never mind…

The psychic goes silent as you watch Jeanne enter the church trough it’s tall wooden doors. The religious building is quite imposing when compared to the rest of the town. The construction is tall and ancient, it was the first thing built in Madeleine town and the only thing that has persisted throughout the ages. This quaint little town has gone through various changes throughout the years, expanding, modernizing but the church still stands unchanging.

From one of its few windows you spy a tall human figure, rigid, you can’t make sense of any of its features besides a pair of glasses and a cross hanging from its neck. His view seems centered in you for a while until it turns it back and goes away from the window. The way its glasses shimmered sent shivers down your spine.
