You awoke to bright light, and the scent of blood. You stood up to look around, and saw the land only dreamed about: Mashuk's kingdom. All around you, deep fog loomed, and the cries of war and the madness that comes with it filled the air. "Hello, Urizen," a great, and almost inhuman voice said, breaking through the endless warfare of this place. You bowed to the figure that now appeared silhouetted in the fog, who seemed to be sitting on a throne. "You may stand, my chosen warrior," the amused god said, now with his form visible not just as a silhouette: he appeared as an ordinary man, with a helmet and long beard, as well as a huge sword in his right hand (known as Zorm, the first sword of man). Now that the fog dispersed, you saw great warriors in this land, constantly fighting each other, and dying, only to be reborn to fight again. "I have summoned you here for one task above all others; to destroy all other memories of gods, and only let me MASHUK, be god!"

You agreed to this plan, which made the figure towering over you smile as he lifted up his house-sized sword towards the sky, saying: "I send thee forth, to go see, and conquer the known world!" Just as you were about to respond, the vision of Mashuk seemed to get smaller and smaller, till he seemed miles away, until only darkness surrounded you.

You sat up quickly out of bed, feeling drenched from what was hopefully just sweat. You turned over so that you could stand up from the bed, falling over due to not realizing your prosthetic leg was not attached. You looked up from your fallen position, and saw Rathadu bending down to lend you his shoulder. After putting on the wooden leg, you were informed that you had been sweating off the poison for four days straight, sleeping through many things. First, you were told of the escape from the valley: Rathadu told you that he picked you up shortly after you falling unconcious, and put your body on his horses back, then he ordered the thirty Rattle-Tails hiding to give their lives for the king, which they did gladly, holding off the superior cavalry force of Thronus at the bottleneck of the steep valley. The gunmen managed to get a shot on Rathadu's horse, which forced him to walk for many miles with you on his back, getting to the Kadine Pass before the enemy could reach you. Rathadu is clearly eternally loyal, and so is his tribe: the Rattle-Tails.
You were also told that the scouts sent to the ancient city managed to map out a path to it, but once they got there, they chose to return to ask for more men, thinking that it was cursed:
>Send a detachment from the army to check the place out
>Make those scouts investigate without support
>Write in

You also heard of the siege of Gurvon; which both Murdas Brukus, and Mazgrund spearheaded. They began raiding the countryside, and setting up a siege tower and ladders, but before they could attack, a huge force of cavalry from Kurrlon attacked at their rear, forcing them to abandon the attack. Damn, that peace talk was, as well as lucrative for the enemy, a diversion so that both Rathadu and you were not the generals in the attack:
>March out: you're going to take Gurvon personally
>Send Rathadu with strict instructions to take the town
>Withdraw the effort, he clearly wants us to spread thin

You had nearly the whole army sally out to take the town, now hell-bent on destroying the whole of Kurrlons religion and history, as your god demanded. You gathered all your men, with the greatest in the middle, to the town square, and told them of your vision: "I saw within fog and haze, a great figure sitting on his golden throne, wielding the first sword of man: Zorm. The figure told me that he was Mashuk, and that I am his chosen warrior." You let the men talk amongst themselves for a short while before starting again, saying: "blood... blood and skulls he wished for. Endless battle with honor and strength of will. He wanted a world where he held absolute power, and he was the only god worshipped. Come, my brothers, ride out with me, and give our god his greatest of desires!" The raiders all gave their savage war cries, and distant thunder clouds boomed at this speech, which made the men fill with a wanting of bloodshed and war. You got on your horse, and had the nearby servant pass you your spear and dog cloak, as well as the mask which now had a crack in it from Aegis. Your horse stood on its hind legs at the crack of some loud thunder, neighing and flailing it's front legs, with you on the back holding your spear skywards, then when the horse landed again, forwards. You kicked the reins, and lead the now bloodthirsty army out of the ever-growing town.

You reached the town within a few days (incredibly fast), and had the men prepare the siege tower, with the horsemen raiding and pillaging the nearby land. By that night, the army was ready to go, still riled up from the great spectacles you had given them. You lead the charge, going with the first men into the siege tower, while Rathadu commanded the forces in case anything unexpected happened. You unleashed your berserk rage on the defending men on the wall, enlivening your nearby comrades, killing double or even triple anyone else on the battlefield. You pushed through the men with your Crimson Chosen bodyguard behind you, eventually breaking their first defense. While you were in a frenzy to take the town, Rathadu had been dealing with a hidden cavalry charge from your flank, repelling it with the remaining men who hadn't sprinted to fight with their king. After a full day of fighting, the town was taken, and the men celebrated:
>Sacrifice... sacrifice them ALL (including the servants and slaves)!!!
>Sacrifice the captured men, enlisting or granting citizenship to the slaves and servants
>Sell them back to Kurrlon
>Enslave the captured men

Next, what do we do with the town:
>Disperse it's citizenry to all your towns

You had all the captives of the battle sacrificed, and enlisted the slave and servant folk to join your kingdom, though they would not become citizens of this town. After having your men take the women folk as plundered loot, you had them burn, destroy and kill all in the city, including the children. You came, you saw, you conquered.
After getting the men to tear down every building and wall from the town, you had them march out before retaliation could occur, and left that place within the day. This victory was incredibly quick and successful, making both Scoundrels-Toll, Black-Hands Deal, and your current allies swear fealty and vassalage to you. You now had Saltmarch, The Flats, Berkeran, Black-Hands Deal, Buckport, Harlotsville, Y'arak, Bollvine, The Kadine Pass, and Scoundrels-Toll. Leaving Kurrlon with just Ulmuran, Vitcur and itself:

When you got back to Saltmarch, you heard of the small force sent to explore the ancient runes, and that none, except three, survived. In that vile place, dead things lurk, and abominations rule. This is clearly something worth investigating:
>Send a good amount of men to capture one of the abominations
>Send a detachment from the army to clear out the ruins, burning all the monsters
>Don't think about it for now

You decided to ignore the ruins for now, and planned to go on pilgrimage there once Kurrlon is finished. right now, your goals were clear: destroy Kurrlon, destroy all other gods worship, and kill Thronus. You had the armies meet at the ruins of Gurvon, as a sign of dominance over your once oppressors, sending only a small amount of men to stay garrisoned at Kadine, so as to deter an attack on your flank. You waited for three weeks for the other armies to reach your desired spot, and prepared the assault. Just as you were about to send out your men, you received word from Balak, saying that an army was visible marching towards Berkeran. How could this be, a whole army from Kurrlon getting past you:
>It's a trick, don't separate the army
>Send a small detachment under the leadership of a lesser general to bolster Berkerans garrison
>Send a large detachment, under the leadership of Rathadu to help Balak in this endeavor
>Write in

Anyway, you had the men ready, and a plan was to be chosen:
>Attack Kurrlon straight off the bat, not giving them an inch
>Try to lead them into a trap

You sent some of the green units under the command of Mazgrund, telling him to bolster the forces at Berkeran, leaving most of the units to take on the threat of Kurrlon. You set up a trap/ambush at a large rocky hill line, and had the men wait behind it, and on one of the flanks with cavalry. You took the men just under your command with you, and had the vassal's wait at the chosen spot. You rode out to meet the enemy army waiting at the entrance to the Kurrlon fertile valley, and had the men engage, mostly with cavalry though. After a certain amount of time fighting the enemy, you had the men retreat, making noise and breaking formation as if they were broken, which made the enemy general order his men to kill the enemy running. Almost too easy. You lead your small army past the hill, so that the now winded enemy army couldn't see your now formed army. Just as the enemy was about to reach the top of the hill, you launched the attack, leading to the men quickly route the enemy army, which was winded and without formation. Then the flanking cavalry came out of their hiding place, and trapped the men, quickly killing them. You had the general shown to you, and saw that it was not Thronus, but one of his sons (the oldest), under strict instructions to hold off the men with the sallied out men of Vitcur and Ulmuran. After a day or two of torture, the young man informed you that Thronus left the second oldest son to guard the city with an elite troop, and that Thronus himself had marched his best army to the Kadine Pass while you attacked as predicted:

-1 vs -12 = Failure, but they have a pyrrhic victory

You had the lords of Y'arak, and Scoundrels-Toll split off to siege Kurrlon, under the supervision of Rathadu. You took your loyal troops, Harlotsiville's, and Black-Hands Deal's troops (with their associated lords leading them), and lead them east of the entrance to Kurrlons valley, to deal with Thronus once and for all. This little game of cat and mousse ends now. It was about midday when you reached the rocky valleys and paths of Kadine, and had your men prepare for an attack from any angle. You spent the next four days marching (slow speed due to large army), leading the men to the Kadine Pass, constantly setting up fortifications for each camp made. It was on the fifth day that the ambush happened, swift and unrelenting, with the enemy forces attacking from the cracked and rocky mountains that separate the pass from Kurrlon. They smashed into your flank before you could properly form the line, leading to a huge loss of men on your part. The vehicles sent in by your side were effective, until their elite RPG units blew a few of the armored cars up, giving their vehicles ample time to counter-charge.

You stopped leading the men near the end of the battle, when the cavalry (which had you in it) clashed with their so as to flank the opposing army. You went into a frenzy, cutting, killing, and throwing about the enemy men like they were wearing no armor at all. In the midst of glorious combat, as you let out a great war-cry, you were side tackled by a huge armored man, which knocked the air out of you. You felt your dazed self get lifted up backwards, and then suplexed over and over, till the enemy got on top of you, punching you over and over again till your face was a bloody pulp. "I was brought back..." the voice of the man on top of you said, before punching you again, "to kill you, Urizen of the wastes..." you recognized the voice of the enemy as Aegis, which made you give a weak laugh in response. You felt yourself get lifted to your knees, with the giant behind you, arms preparing to break your neck, "I saw Kurrlon himself in my unconscious state, and he told me that my one goal now was to kill you. I then woke up, and found my arm healed, to the surprise of everyone. I will complete my goal whether it kills me or not," the man said preparing to finish this war. You could see your men, against the shouted commands of Rathadu, retreating, while you were slowly getting surrounded by just the enemies men:

"This time, you're gonna stay dead, soft-skin," you said, barely louder than a whisper. Due to trauma and blood loss, you blacked out before he broke your neck, leading you back to talk to Mashuk. This time you did not see fog, you saw smoke, and were before you heard the glorious sound of honorable combat, it now sounds beastly, and beyond sadistic. You got up, and looked around, seeing the silhouettes of warrior clashing, and pulling out each other's intestines, eating the remains while the other still lived, and on the ground was not soft clouds, no, the ground was covered in human bones and skulls, as well as the occasional fresh organ and limb. You saw it then, a great figure on a huge throne, the smoke parted enough to see the monstrous form: with the head and body of a beast, and black armor that was covered in blood. You fell to your knees in disbelief, hoping that this was not the god you worshipped, the god that now pulled a great serrated black sword from their own chest, and pointed it to you, saying "You have FAILED! But I, Mashuk, am a generous god: I will grant you your strength back, mortal, for the small price of your soul... Do you accept?" You stood to your knees, and, rather than face a death such as this, accepted the terms. "Good my dog of war... good. Now go, slay, maim, MURDER!!!"

You were brought back to your own body, now fully healed and ready for a fight. You grabbed the arm around your neck, and pulled it off with surprising ease, confusing Aegis, and making you smile: you now don't have the strength of Hathon, you have the strength of Mashuk's chosen. You let go of the Aegis's arm, and let him stumble back with surprise. You grabbed your ripper spear that you dropped, and prepared for a good fight. Aegis went for a great swing with his sword, which you deftly parried, and went for the same weak spot that he had before, but, after it getting deflected, realized that it was reinforced since the last battle. Aegis went for another strike, which resulted in you disarming, and dislocating his shoulder. At this point, you found that you were almost surrounded, and your army was barely visible in the distance, so you dropped the killing of the huge man for now, pulling off a soldier from his horse, and riding after your men. You had never felt power like this, and never felt such bestial rage as well. The true power of war was flowing through you:

Be aware that Urizen does not appreciate knowing the fact that his god obviously malevolent. Urizen previous to this thought (and so did everyone else who worshipped the god) that Mashuk was an honorable warrior god that believed in strength above all else. It is becoming clear now to Urizen that this was just a facade to gain followers.

You made the men retreat, reinforcing the effort at Kurrlon, to the surprise of the men. It was a quick few days march to Kurrlon, where the sieging army had set up a small palisade around the enemy walls so as to deter a flanking attack. You hailed the guards, and entered the camp, ordering your men to wait and stay provisioned: this will be a long few days. You found out that these wall guard had a great amount of weapons and artillery, as well as a three-fold defense, having more walls than you have generals.
The city was huge, with the outside wall almost spanning the entrance to the valley, and the height being at least twice as large as the towns before. You prepared the siege tower, but had a new addition to it added: A battering ram on the lower level. At the end of the next day, the men launched the attack, with only three of the five siege towers breaching the walls. You decided to stay out of the initial wall battle, so as to prepare for the inevitable flanking force.

After fighting the guardsmen defending through the night, a large amount of the enemies forces were spotted at the entrance to the valley, approaching from the east: Thronus. You prepared your forces to defend against their attack, having the gunmen, crossbowmen, and bowmen up front, while the other forces waited for the enemy to get close. You felt something strange hit you in the face, then it hit you again, near the eye. You wiped your face, and when you looked at your hand, you realized it was water, and that rain was soon coming.
You readied the men, and had them prepare for a really muddy battle, due to the size of this cloud front, and that weather was on your side. You had them hold the line against the cavalry and militia, ordering shot after shot to be fired against the frantic enemy. By sunrise you had deterred the enemy flanking force, with your men running in to melee any units that got past the palisade, beating the exhausted enemy in a muddy struggle.

It was during the next day that you finally took the walls, now moving to the inner ones, which were taken after a few more days. Eventually, there was only the keep left, but your men were exhausted, and an enemy force was waiting at the exit to the valley. Just at this moment, you received a message from Balak and the force that was sent west: they were all defeated. "The enemy was too many in number, and strong in force, and defeated our small army within the day, causing us to retreat to the flats. We need your aid now more than ever:"
>You will have this town soon, they can wait at the flats
>Have Balak bring his forces here, we need his help
>Leave only a small amount of men to finish this job, and have the rest come with you to go back to Saltmarch

Losing faith in Mashuk is clearly why these rolls are so bad.

I'll go with you wanting to send another small force to Balak, and keeping the majority here. Also, you secretely plan on betraying Mashuk, and taking your soul back from his clutches (metal):

Rolling for the end of the siege:
31 -40 (oil, guns, outnumber the enemy, siege tower, Chosen of Mashuk, competent general (you), walls, second walls, third walls, exhausted men [+5]) = -9

The enemy gets -55 (keep, oil, turrets, grenades, elite guardsmen, RPG's, flanking force, guns, your nemesis: Aegis, and Thronus is a great general, starving you out)

Holy shit these modifiers are getting big
>>
>>3453180
-9 vs -29 = close defeat/phyric victory for Thronus (and you've got more men, so it's not so bad for you)

You sent another one of your generals (this time being Murdas Brukus) with a relatively small amount of men to deal with the prevalent diversion, leaving the main force to continue with the siege. Murdas left at the crack of dawn with the green troops, while the units starving you out were switching patrols at the valley's entrance. Brukus lead the men west through the valley, and through an old goats path to the desert outside. You had sent the forces of Black-Hands Deal this time, and now had fewer men than you thought ideal.
The next few days were spent with wall and fire, brick and bullet; sieging the great keep at the town's center, losing many men in the process. Just as you were about to take the whole city, once and for all, you received word from a rather out of breath messenger, telling you that a force of the enemies men had managed to sap past the walled defense, and were fighting in melee with yours. You rode back, bringing your most elite troops across the huge city, ordering the gates opened, and for the men to put up spear and shield.
The roads were small, and were made of cobblestone. There were two sapping holes the enemy were pouring out of, and you had your gunmen engage by setting up barricades, and shooting at a distance. The enemy used grenades, and eventually broke the defense, and a melee was fought in the tight streets, lasting for hours on end, with each army fighting for survival, knowing they couldn't run anywhere. The body piled so high that it made a temporary defense for your men, who began discussing a new strategy. You had had enough, it was high time that you got into the brawl, tooth, and claw. Just as you were about to lead the crimson chosen, eye-eaters, and Rattle-Tails in a charge, you got word from an even more exhausted messenger from the keep, who informed you that it was taken, and that the men taking it were coming to reinforce the line.
After sendiing the messenger on his way, you looked at your men, and held up your spear in exaltation, letting out your now legendary war-cry, and launching yourself at the enemy, jumping over the wall of dead men spear in hand.
>>
>>3453315
The day dragged on, and so did the fight, now much slower and sluggish than before, apart from you and your elite men though, who continued to push the enemy further and further back, now fighting almost constantly on dead bodies. You heard it then (you were out of berserker rage by now), the marching of men behind you, who were almost at the large piles of dead bodies. When you saw who it was, you called for your men's attention (gaining just the Rattle-Tails), and ordered them to form a shield wall at your flank, which was now being attacked by the enemy as well.
The enemy must have defeated your forces at the other sapped point, and were now sandwiching your men between foes. You tried to push past the men, to engage the enemy, but it was no use, you simply ended up squishing yourself more in the struggle, resulting in you not being able to move much more than an inch or two. Your now fearful men, who were only making it easier for their killers by trying to desperately escape, hardly held up a defense against the new attackers. You pulled yourself out of the tightly packed formation, pushed up above the me, and now just trying to breathe and not get disorientated. "YOU!" You turned your head towards where that was said, and sure enough, Aegis was there, mowing through your men, trying to reach you:
>Engage your nemesis
>Try to climb the side of one of the buildings
>Try to run over the tops of the anvil force of the enemy, using their tightly grouped men like a floor

-12 vs 30 = 13 pieces, here we come

You pulled yourself from the panicking men, and into the frey, attacking the enemy with all the ferocity of a wild animal, trying to get closer to your prey: Aegis. You saw him pushing past his men with reckless abandon, only having one thought in his mind: to fulfill his gods wish, and to have his vengeance. The both of you met with a clash of steel, and an exchange of blows, each dodging the others every strike and parry, making the duel drag on as the men fought beside you. He pulled you into a grapple, just like you wanted, and tried to disarm your spear.
You smiled at the confused man trying his best to take the weapon from you: ever since that day when your soul was taken, your strength and endurance rose to peak levels of human physical capabilities, with your muscles as strong as someone who had spent their whole life working them.
You looked up at the man, and gave a sadistic war-cry as you headbutted him, temporarily stunning him, which allowed you time to draw your sword, and stick it right between his metal plates. He looked down at you surprised, and tried to say something, but all that came out was blood. You pulled off his breastplate, and lifted your hand to the sky, then back down to the mans chest. You looked him in the eyes as you pushed your hand through, and pulled out his heart (by now you had warmed up to the taste), and ate it in front of him:
>Gain his knowledge of Thronus's plans
>Gain his strength (added to your own)
>Gain his knowledge of arms and amor (clearly he's quite the master of that)

You felt a surge of energy and knowledge course through you, and the power residing within Aegis that Kurrlon gave him. You looked at your men, who barely wore clothes on their upper bodies, even the elite, and veteran ones, and looked at your own weaponry and armor: scavenging equipment can only give you so much.
You turned to the enemy, and pulled out your war-horn, blowing it to gather your men's attention, and ordered a push on the flanking enemy with a point of your spear, which brought them all to their senses. Your veteran, and elite forces pulled themselves together, and pushed to the front of the flank, and held up all their weapons in unison, letting out a war chant. The enemy forces had disengaged temporarily after seeing their generals heart eaten. Your men had a Crimson Chosen and an eye eater next to them aligned in order, so as to have the greatest effect. The enemy held out their shields, and prepared to charge into your men, and you stood in front of your men, and blew your horn again, ordering them to push the forces back.
The eye eaters pulled back the enemies interlocking shields, and the Crimson chosen stabbed in with their spears. This process was repeated over and over, with both sides receiving casualties. The fight ended when the troop sieging the keep attacked the enemy rear, but allowed an exit space, which the enemy took over death, and fled back to their camp. You pulled back your forces to the second wall, allowing the enemy, who had sent in a good chunk of their men into the town, the first layer of the city. You were now trapped, but you had more men still.

You had luckily captured Kurrlonius's son for bartering, and waited with him at the wall, asking for Thronus to appear, which he did, in accordance to parley (the citizens of the city had escaped to the hills before the siege started btw):
>Ask for an exchange of hostages, then for free passage out of the city. They have won, but at the cost of many lives
>Say that this city is yours, or Kurrlonius's son dies
>Challenge Thronus to a duel for the city and his son (roll 1d100)
