After skirting around the main roads , we arrive back again to Serpico with the check point guards none the wiser about our extended leave. Now dear reader, if you are still paying attention a man called Sensei, whose hands were trained by years of warfare with the 99 Arms assassination clan would defend her Divinity from more than 4 blades as he commanded the fairer amongst the group to seek the light.

The monk then gave a small chant and then with ease ran up the length of a tree , being chased by two assassins only to smash open the tangled treetops that would dissipate their attackers. In dust.

At this the remaining 3 attempted to flee, only to be shot in the back by poisoned bolts.

A quick look at the corpses under the shade and it was obvious, these were Hongrin Assassins sent from the Mainland to hunt them down and yet, the bite on their necks and the rosaries around their wrists alluded to a darker deal made recently.

Once given leave to at least acquire salt for the [8 Boar Meat] he had harvested during the rescue, Syugou heads off into Serpico. Eventually finding himself searching for Tovani or Alswith, the Quartermasters of the Uncrowned, so as to possibly bargain with them about sharing his haul with the Company in exchange for them footing the bill on the salt needed to preserve it. The large man, likely looming near one of them as soon as he found one of the ladies. Though his gruff exterior, ferocious combat style, and sober seriousness belied the truth to his playful and joking nature. The alcohol he imbibed whenever possible revealing such to any in his vicinity while Syugou was drunk.

The Shape seethed. Just as the bandleader was about to fall, he had produced a bandage from beneath his cloak and bound his torn artery.

He had gotten away.

The Shape had come upon Fernand speaking to the Ragged One that they had met in the armory, along with a Dark Eyed one that looked similar to the one they had come across in the previous battle. Their songs were low and hushed, with subtle peaks of conspiracy hanging upon every note. The Shape drew closer, just in time to make out the lyrics 'Goldjoy' and 'all-out blow.'

The Shape's fist clenched, straining the threads of his gloves.

He had gotten away, but not for long.

The Shape hurried out into the underbelly of Serpico. A glance at the silvery glow of his knives told him they needed sharpening again. There was also someone The Shape wished to see.

The nomad, having just wandered in, comes face to face with what he assumes is the quartermaster of this little band. Within seconds, he's given a corpse, and stumbles under the weight of the dead thing, before settling it on his shoulder.
He considers his options for a moment, then opens his mouth, talking in a heavily accented voice. "Thank you. I will... See what I can with..." He pats the corpse for emphasis. "This. The teeth can... Wait."
And with that, he wanders off, dropping the corpse somewhere off to the side, then gets to work.

The large man stumbles once or twice with the awkwardness of all that Tovani had piled into his arms for carrying, but manages to not drop anything. Though he does grumble once or twice under his breath at the work and the way the thin woman flitted about piled more onto him without speaking of his salt for a good couple of hours.
Until finally Syugou was told of some seaside store where she intended to pick some up from, and the large man beamed once more. Renewed in his effort to helping the Quartermaster until he could attain his prize. Though he was a bit disappointed by the 'thugs' she'd mentioned. Syugou had hoped they might actually start something and he'd get the chance to bash a few skulls so as to maybe earn a little sake for the trouble of rescuing Tovani. Still it seemed they were finally finished with their tasks for the day, but something seemed off. Then Tovani told him, 'Here you are, one bag of salt.' it was a 10 oz bag. Syugou had requested 80 oz and received 10. With a blink and a nod of a bow the nomad accepts the salt and his pay for aiding in the rescue, dropping the two other bags of salt Tovani had gotten for the Uncrowned onto a pile of other things that the company kept in storage.
"Thank you Tovani-san... I'll put it to good use." His voice was more dry than before, any playfulness Syugou had shown prior was gone. And the change in honorific to a more serious one possibly missed by the Quartermaster.

Does it provide any additional benefits or have any other uses, like turning some boat meat into a "Ham Bat"?
