Previous threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=One%20Piece%20Bounty%20Photographer%20Quest
MC Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/XGUgpV79

Cover-art kindly provided by our noble artiste, Draw-anon, who generously took time off repainting the Sistine Chapel for us. Look upon our prettyboy protagonist. Look upon his devilish smile and despair.

In last thread’s episode of One Piece Genuine Pirate Quest, our accurately named mysterious hero MYSTERIOUS HERO ARTHUR conversed with Vivi and Kohza, discovered his brilliant baking ‘bilities, and found himself re-re-re-re-kidnapped, this time by a giant shrimp. Or God. Maybe God is a giant shrimp? Hmm. In any case, he’s now trapped on the Merry, along with its klaubutermann and several CRIMINAL SCUM, threatened by sky-sharks! Also, Chopper continues to be a cutie, and Zolo is annoyingly cool.

We now return you to your scheduled idiocy.
>>
>do not poke the enel

You decide it probably isn’t the best idea to ‘poke’ the weird presence, partly because it might be dangerous, and partly because... well, you’ve been using it a lot lately, and the faint pressure in your head warns you of an impending headache.

Best to save it for emergencies.

It would probably be better to deactivate it completely, but you grit your teeth and keep it on for now, passively keeping a metaphorical eye on the weird something-someone instead.

Guuuh.

Lolonoa is... not actually kicking a whole load of ass, unfortunately. He’s taken down two of the damn things, with some difficulty; but their scales are apparently incredibly hard, and their sheer size and mobility doesn’t help, let alone how many of them there are.

Maybe your metal-cutting could get through their scales... but like hell you’re going down there.

You sigh, slumping back against the wooden wall as you try to minimize energy-expenditure, instead. It’s only a few more minutes before the watchful gazes of the others turn to worried ones, as Lolonoa starts to tire.

“THERE HE IS! A sky-shark! Zoro’s losing to a sky-shark!!”

The sounds of slashing swords and animal-roars fades suddenly, muffled by the odd splashing noise as they fall back into watery-clouds.

“.........”

“Ah... he’s not coming up... Did he get eaten...?”

“GYAAAA!! Zoro’s been eaten!!”

Nico seems calm, at least. “If he did, the clouds would be turning red by now.”

“DON’T SAY SUCH SCARY THINGS, ROBIN!!”

Then — a loud thud and pained bellow, along with what’s unmistakably Lolonoa’s voice - “GET OUTTA MY WAY!!”

... Did he just punch a shark?

(1/2]
>>
You wander over to the railings to stare with the others, as Lolonoa punts the unfortunate monster aside, hitting the sea-cloud again and starting to swim back over to the massive steps leading up the altar to the ship.

“It looks like this wasn’t the best plan,” the Witch Thief laments, slumping down. “Even Zoro can’t kill them...?”

“At least he didn’t get eaten,” Nico says, pointing out the bright side. Wait, aren’t you supposed to want him to get eaten? Is that okay when you’re allies right now? Even if he doesn’t know you’re supposed to be enem- ugh, this is so damn confusing.

Lolonoa reaches the top, grumbling as he strips off his top and starts wringing it out. Why he even bothered wearing it in the first place, you have no idea. “Looks like we’ve been taken to a dangerous place,” he says, clearly annoyed.

The devilish compass-thief is less impressed with the situation. “You’re a swordsman, yet you used your fist to kill that shark?”

“Zoro’s so strong~!” ... Chopper, you cutie.

Meanwhile, you can’t help but stare and wonder how the hell Lolonoa got that massive scar across his chest and stomach. Even for a strong guy, something like that should have killed him, right? It looks like a clean slice - a sword, most likely? To scar that completely, it must have been deep as well as long...

How the crap is this lunatic alive?! Who even did that?!

“I wonder if Heaven’s Judgement is to let us starve in this place?”

Zolo snorts at Nico’s joking suggestion. “Would something that normal really be done by God?”

“... I don’t know. I never met Him.”

You fidget slightly, casting another look around. The sharks still swim. The presence still hasn’t done anything. Should you - no, you probably shouldn’t tell the others, right? But maybe they should know someone’s watching?

“With the ship’s bottom in this state, we can’t put her down in the water,” Lolonoa muses. He feels... concerned. Less about themselves than the Merry, you suspect, now he’s aware they have to try and prevent as much damage as possible. “I’m going to go look around the forest. You guys stay here and try to repair her as best you can. Luffy will come looking for us, so we’ll just Use Merry as our gathering point.”

Witch Thief doesn’t seem happy. “What?! Shouldn’t you stay here too? Why are you going anywhere?!”

“God’s on this island, right?” He grins. “I want to go meet him!”

>arthur is clearly flashman because they're both logical, responsible geniuses

What. A. Dumbass.

Seriously, what the hell?! Isn't this guy supposed to be smar- Wait. Has he got some kind of a plan? No, he can't realize you're being watched, so he isn't trying to bluff the presence. Dammit, Zolo...

"Or, hear me out now," you butt in sharply, "we DON'T leave the boat and piss off whatever God is totally not out there and definitely NOT watching us right now. Hmm?"

Lolonoa opens his mouth to answer, then pauses. His eyes narrow as his head tilts, looking at you. You stare back pointedly.

"Hm." He sounds casual, but you can almost feel his mind ticking rapidly over as he taps one of his sword hilts. You feel the confusion and curiosity from the others too - Nico seems to grasp the the subtext there, and that Lolonoa understands it, even though you doubt she knows about Observation. Or... maybe she does? "Robin, if I leave, can you protect everyone?"

... IDDDDDIIIIOOOOOOOTTTTTTT

"I couldn't say, without knowing my opponents, Mr Swordsman."

He does That Fucking Smirk(tm). "God and his priests, I guess."

"Oh, is that all? Then I suppose we'll be fine."

"ARE YOU BOTH CRAZY?!" Your yell echoes along with-

You and the Witch Thief blink. Then turn to look at each other. She's even stealing your lines, now?! That fiend!

"D-don't you know you're not supposed to anger God?!" She regains her composure quickly at least, while Nico titters. "This is just common sense!!"

Witch Thief... you're starting to suspect Lolonoa might be lacking in that...

Lolonoa himself - yup. The smirk just widens. "Sorry. I never pray to God! I don't even believe in him, so why should I care?"

That - you just told him someone was watching, dammit! He knows you're all under Observation! Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!

This crew... are they really cunning at all...?

You stifle a groan.

"It's a shame," Nico sighs, reaching up to gently press the gauze on her face. "This altar must be at least a millennia old. Seeing such historical remains makes me... quite excited..."

Lolonoa crosses his arms. "Don't care. You need to stay on the ship and look after these guys. They can't fight."

........ that's... so cruel... and so soon after you've kicked his ass.... Lolonoa...

"That's right! You need to protect us!" SHUT UP, WITCH THIEF! Even the mink kid isn't clamoring for protection!

"That's right, look after us, Robin!" ... Never mind.

Nico smiles slightly. "I'm surprised, Miss Navigator - even you want to stay on the ship, despite the riches that might be out there, in the golden city?"

Golden city? What?

(1/2)
>>
Still, the younger woman's eyes are already lit up with beri symbols. "Oh~ now that you mention it, I'd like to explore~"

Lolonoa pings your Haki with annoyance. "You'll just slow me down, witch."

"We need money to repair the ship..." Robin muses, eyeing some damage.

"But I guess you can tag along," Lolonoa quickly adds. "Witch, we're going to use that vine to swing across, got it?" He points at a relatively strong-looking vine hanging off a nearby branch.

You slump down against the railings, torn apart by the dumbassery the supposedly intelligent crew are showing. "Guess I'll stay with Chopper and Nico," you mutter, despondant.

An elegant hand grows out of the railings and pats your shoulder.

"Don't worry about us!" Chopper waves back, looking-feeling cheerful. "Find lots of treasure! Come back safe! And don't pick a fight with God!"

"They're totally gonna pick a fight with God..." you grumble.

Nico nods in placid agreement, but waves as well, as the two head out of sight.

"... So." You clap your hands, straightening. "Any idea how to fix a ship?"

As it turns out, you know a couple of things about veeeeery basic repair, Chopper knows... less... but Nico has picked up a good bit here and there. She won't be designing a ship from scratch any time soon, but a life spent mostly at sea, plus a load of reading and an occasional look at Merry's schematics lets her tell you all at least a little about what HAS to be patched up, what CAN be patched up, and what's absolutely fucked.

Then if we REALLY get cornered we can just "actually I was a logia this entire time!" them.
Gives an excuse against swimming.
Gives a reason as to not ending every fight spamming lightning bolts against enemies.
Still lets us use some of our powers on an official basis.
I seriously want that fruit.

Yeah, base 1 in a million... and then in a row.... and trips... oh Seasus, I don't even know.

I think you might just straight up take his head off with a cannonball.

Motherfucker.

As to Conqueror's Haki... I think I once promised to give it to you if you rolled three Nat 100s (not quest total, obviously, but in one call for rolls).

Obviously, technically speaking, three 57s is still the same odds as rolling three 100s. Plus you've got the other weirdness of in a row, trips, etc.

So... honestly, I don't want to give you guys Conquerers at LEAST for ages yet, if at all.

As to whether, narratively speaking, you SHOULD have it... I don't know. We only know what other people say about Conquerer's Haki, and the 'Will to conquer' thing seems like bullshit or very open to interpretation to me. What is 'conquering'? Ace doesn't want to run around taking over islands. Shanks is totally chill. Luffy is... Luffy.

Conqueror's Haki has two real interpretations for me - one, is the will to 'conquer' or defeat whatever stands in your way of insert-current-goal-here, two is that it's just straight-up, weaponised willpower. No conquering about it except for how you 'conquer' weaker wills by mentally bludgeoning them.

So, does Flashy have that kind of willpower? I dunno. I think he might have the potential for it, but could he pull it out now? Is his determination strong enough? I don't even know. If there's a biological basis for it, he certainly has it from the Charlotte (and D) line. From the CD side? I don't recall his dad ever showing it.

So.... no Conquerors for a long, LONG while, if ever.

But you're getting a big Observation Boost. And as for the priest...

This quest is bullshit.

>>
>>3487097
I think Conquerer's Haki Is more about refusing to accept the world as It Is before you. You will reshape the world as you desire, purely by your own will. This Is only shown by knocking people out, but If you could defeat anyone simply by *willing* It, who could possibly stop you from shaping the world as you desire? That said, It seems there needs to be a decent gap In willpower to take effect, but theoretically If someone could reach a level far above EVERYONE else-

No one could stop them. That's why It's so dangerous.

It's probably understandable that you don't want to give It to us now and that's fine but at least down the road during appropriate circumstances It should eventually come out.

And yes, this quest *Is* bullshit.
>>
>>3487122
Now that you've said that prepare for the next 10 rolls to all be 100.
>>3487126
Yeah, Flashy definitely won't accept the World Government's justice.
And changing the system from the inside is impossible because so many good men have been Fleet Admiral and failed.
>>
>>3487105
>>3487097
>So.... no Conquerors for a long, LONG while
Fair enough - storywise the only time which gives enough peril and/or willpower for Flashy to bust in out is Dressrosa. I can see Flashman having a burning will to kick Doffy's shit in for killing his dad AND beating up his adoptive Smoke dad + brother. Plus isn't taking out a king essentially conquering his lands ohohoho~

>will to 'conquer' or defeat whatever stands in your way of insert-current-goal-here
Personally I believe this.
Luffy, Ace, Boa, Katakuri, and heck even Doffy faced life with the difficulty set on nightmare mode and made it out the other end in one piece.

Rodger and Rayleigh literally conquered all challenges that came they way and eventually the world.
>>
>>3487097
>>3487126
Mmm, that's kinda how I saw Conquerer's, yeah. The will to take your destiny and the world's destiny into your own hands, and to fucking do something with it.
>>
>>3487097

Statistics were never my strong point, and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but my calculations come up to 1/333333 chance, or about three times more likely than one in a million, for three same numbers from 3d100 and a single instance of trips. I didn't count the fact those were separate rolls in a row because that would either involve looking at posting ratio and bring the chance indeed down by unknown margin OR in the end prove inconsequential, not really sure which.
I can lay down the math in anyone want to point out my mistakes.

One of Enel's priests. They pretty much follow his bidding and other than a couple of character quirks don't have much going for them. Probably best to kill him. Depending on how Enel's feeling this particular day, he might straight up destroy the priest for failing and the Merry would be included as collateral damage.

I think in-story, Flashman's too worried about Merry's safety to consider crippling anyway.

I'm pretty sure the toughest 1on1 battle you've had so far (excluding Klaus and Smoboss, who've been holding back) was Fop. Fucking FOP.

>87 + 16 (not 15, I'm dumb) +5 + 32 = 138
>138 + bullshit bonus = lol
>I'm going to use that shonen roll I was given, enjoy your heat lance

They're seconds away, even at their incredible speed. Fortunately for the three of you, it takes only a second to prepare - while Nico starts to cross her arms in some kind of obvious Devil Fruit-related manner, you kick a nearby cannonball up to waist-height and snatch it from the air.

Then you orient your body, swivel from the hips, raise your arm, relax your fingers, and HURL --

(Cannonballs +3! Observation Haki +2! DC lowered to 55! Haki range increased! Throwing Up (Low) evolves into YEET (Medium), improving throwing bonus from 5 to 10! General Fitness +1!)

As you move, your Haki tells you all you need to know. He'll-move-here-here-here-not-there-here-this-speed-that-angle-this-is-where--when-how-you-need-to-THROW

You can just make out the two pairs of eyes begin to widen, the guy moving almost before the metal leaves your fingers, but you knew he'd see it coming and how to move so you already accounted for where he'd make the bird go and he saw how you'd change it and so your own target had altered and --

And to be perfectly honest, you're better. Plain facts.

(1/2)
>>
>>3487457
Thank you.
Now uh...
Onto a different subject.
F r o o t.
>>
His eyes have almost finished widening by the time your cannonball, a healthy spin on it, blows through them. The last thing that goes through his mind is... well. A big round ball of metal.

The bird SCREECHES. It screeches goddamn fire, which sends a spark of barely-restrained panic through Nico's sudden blaze of terrified confusion, but you're less concerned about her than the bird which now has a blood-spurting, headless corpse spasming on top of it.

"Hm," you say, as it screeches in terror again, flailing as it tries to fly while getting copious amounts of delightful human neck-spray splashing into its eyes.

It's like a goddamn fountain up there.

"Hmmmm," you say, as it mistimes its wing-beats, toppling from the dead-weight (heh, DEAD-weight) on its back, still blinded, screaming and spewing gouts of fire.

The corpse riding it follows it in slamming into Merry's deck, though you quickly step in to snap the bird's flailing neck as it hits, before the flames can end up damaging anything. The human body slumps off it, gushing lessened somewhat. It's still going to take a while to mop the growing puddle up, you realize with embarrassment. Shit. You'll have to apologize to Merry later.

"Well, I doubt that was one of their priests, so one of them will probably be along next, when this guy doesn't report in," you muse, nudging Mr Spurty with your boot. He gives a twitching jerk as his nervous system gets the message about being dead. "We'll have to up our guard now, guys. ...... Guys?"

You look back, paying more attention to your Haki as well as their physical state.

"NGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!??" Doctor Cutie... is that some kind of mink language?

Nico just twitches. A lot.

Your Haki is weirdly blank as to their emotions. Chopper looks surprised though, which is no wonder. Guy sprang up preeeetty damn quickly. Nico's twitching, staring face is as blank as her emotions feel, though. Damn, she's a calm one. Could be a serious threat one day.

Can we add "The Man Who Makes The Impossible Possible" onto Flashy's nicknames?
All versions of Flashy accomplish crazy ass shit.
Silvers manages to steal Whitebeards dog and eat the Yami Yami no Mi before making a perfectly timed escape.

Back in Alabasta, she was nearly incinerated by Ace. She's got bandages on her face, and underneath are probably going to be permanent burn scars - she may or may not be missing an eye.

And she just saw a giant bird that breathes fire as a method of attack.

Most likely, she's developed a phobia of fire in addition to the scars from Ace.

Metal. Also, the lance. Normally kind of useless, without some sort of mount. But as a marine, Rokushiki is a thing we can learn. And I can already think of a bunch of cool techniques and shit we could do by mixing the lance and Geppo. We could totally make some sort of Geppo based aerial lancer style.

It can lead to so many fun situations if we hide having it.

Uhm.
Hotter than him.
>>

There is just a problem with not getting the fruit:
If we fight a really powerful DF user without seastone, we'll probably get killed or, at best, stomped (until endgame, when we will learn all the Haki types, techniques and weapons in the world) .
If we fight a powerful DF user and we have a DF, we can always pull a "this is not even my final form" kind of thing and fight on equal terms.
>>
>>3488197

Also, you guys haven't actually seen the Lance in action. How does it even activate? Is there a button wired in the handle to activate the dial? Beats me.

As far as Flashy knows so far, it's just a big stabby thing.

(FINAL BONUS FOR STUPID 57s: Any 57 on an Observation Haki roll automatically counts as a crit success.)

You feel heat burn in your cheeks as you look at them, and scratch the back of your head awkwardly. “... Sorry. He startled me.” You try to nudge the guy’s body so his neck’s on top of the bird instead of the deck. It doesn’t really help.

“Ah, sh-“ Wait. Kid. Can’t swear. “Shoot, I’m really sorry about getting blood everywhere, I didn’t mean to have them drop down and make a mess. Like I said, I only started using cannonballs after Garp, so I’m not that experienced with them...” You glance back. They’re still kinda stare-y and twitchy. “Um. Just... tell me where the mop and bucket is, I’ll get it cleaned up quick.”

In a jerky but synchronized movement, Nico and Doctor Cutie’s arms swing to point at the galley.

“Great! Thanks, I’ll just go, uh.” You make some frantic motions at the galley. Ugh, this is so embarrassing. You tug your cap low, and scuttle off to grab the mop, pausing to pat Merry’s mast on the way. “Sorry for messing you up,” you whisper quickly, as you pass.

The cleaning tools are easy enough to find in their cupboard, well away from the food supplies. You fill the bucket from the kitchen sink, and add some cleaner as well. Oh, man, hopefully the wood won’t stain, Merry doesn’t seem like the type to be okay with that. Shit, should you have tossed the bodies overboard before you left? That would’ve lessened a bit of clean-up.

Ugggggh, you suck. You messed up the goddamn ship and couldn’t even take one basic step before you ran off. Nice job, ‘Arthur’, you look like a total incompetent. Genius.

“Back! Sorry again!” You shove the galley door open, tugging the bucket and mop out onto deck. The bodies are gone (courtesy of Nico, most likely), but your erstwhile ally (and Doctor Cutie) are back at work on repairs. Chopper gives a little jump-squeak at your arrival, but Nico pauses to give you a somewhat stilted smile.

“No need for apologies,” she says politely, apparently not going to comment on the giant puddle of blood cooling on the deck. They’d propped the giant lance-thing up against one of the bulkheads, too, which is weird. Nico apparently catches your look. “There’s a button in the middle, connected to something inside,” she explains, while her many arms position planks of wood for others to hammer into place. “We thought it might be a good idea to test it before disposal.”

Mmmmm, shiny weapon, yes.

More importantly now, though, is cleaning up your shame. By which you mean mopping. A lot.

You get to work, brisk as you can (ew, gloopy), uncomfortably aware of how Chopper is keeping his head ducked down as he works. You... totally just blew a guy’s head off in front of a kid, didn’t you?

BEHOLD THE CANDY KING

>dessert + 90 candy roll

Okay. You’re a cool guy, Fla- Arthur. You can comfort a child. A poor, sweet darling who shouldn’t have been present for the kind of trauma you just inflicted on him. Dammit.

“So.” THINK, FLASHY, THINK. USE YOUR BRAIN-MEATS. “That was weird and kind of sucked... Would something dessert-like make you feel better?"

You feel more than see Chopper freeze, twitch, then sneak a glance over at you. He looks-feels so nervous...

“I mean, if it’s okay to use the galley,” you quickly add. “I don’t wanna presume. It’s just...” You slosh the mop around a little harder. Thankfully it’s barely had a chance to dry, so it’s washing out pretty easily. “I mean... if you want?”

You try not to sound too pathetic, but Chopper at least feels a little more happy and confident as he nods. “That’d be nice?”

“Sounds fine,” Nico calls. She sounds casual as ever, but feels oddly alert, even slightly nervous herself. Which makes sense, considering an actual priest might come after you sometime soon. You find it doubtful the ‘God’ somehow missed one of his lackeys dying.

“Great!” You rinse out the last of the blood on your mop into the bucket, admiring the deck. It’s only wet with water and cleaning solution now, nice and shiny! Perfect! With the mop in one hand, you use the other to root through your pockets. You must have SOME emergency candy, right?

Ah, there’s a lollipop there. Blueberry! Nice!

“How about I make

Chopper tenses up a little as you pass by him, but relaxes again into bubbles of sparkly joy as you pass him the lollipop. “I’m gonna see if there’s ingredients for pancakes,” you call back, tugging the cleaning equipment back into the galley.

Now, then.

Pancakes. Simple enough, right?

As a matter of fact, it’s even simpler than you thought. Thank you, Cheapshot - the guy has a great selection of cookbooks, some handwritten, some published, and they’re well-organised, too. It’s simple to find a quick recipe, and even the ingredients are located in sensible places rather than randomly shoved wherever.

You’re kind of impressed. Whyyyy is this guy a pirate instead of running a restaurant somewhere?

Well, whatever - while the two work outside, you start mixing up batter, and finding some good toppings - lemon juice is easy, there’s plenty aboard to prevent scurvy. A sprinkling of sugar, naturally, and maybe some fruit... you shy away from the strawberries, and consider between blueberries and cherries.

Maybe the cherries are too red...?

Yeeeeah, some other time. N-not that you’re going to be making pancakes for Chopper again, obviously! You’ll be back on the White Mist soon! Just... theoretically.

Ahem.

Blueberries it is. He’s already got the taste from the lollipop anyway, it won’t mix badly with these.

... Yeah, they’ve turned out damn nice, if you do say so yourself. Which you do. ... You wanna eat them all.

Uh, yeah? What’s wrong with kidnapping? It’s a normal occurrence, a little concerning the first time, but everyone needs to get used to it. How sheltered are you? Geez. Chopper’ll probably be disappointed he doesn’t get a sweet tattoo out of it.

>so what’s a buncha pirates like you doing on a pirate ship like this

“So!” You have to tug your collar down a little to eat your own pancakes, but you’re all situated out on deck, and Doctor Cutie’s more focused on his pancakes than your face. Plus, Nico already knows who you are, so whatever. “Why ARE you guys pirates, anyway?”

Nico twitches. Again. Man, you’re starting to wonder if she has a problem with her nervous system. “I was given a bounty very young,” she says, which doesn’t really answer the question at all, but you look at Chopper anyway.

He looks back at you, determined, as he swallows the bite of pancakes and pumps a tiny hoof-fist. “I want to cure every disease in the world! So I need to travel as far and wide as I can to study properly!”

... Oh no. He’s still too cute. Doctor Cutie, how can you cure every disease when you inflict diabetes with your very presence?! ANSWER THAT, DOCTOR

“eeeeeeeeee,” you whisper.

“Huh?”

“Nothing!” You cough. “But why do you have to be a pirate to do that? I mean, did you travel with one in the New World?”

The two of them look confused. “The New World?”

“Yeah?” What? “Where... Minks come from?”

“Minks... I’ve heard of them.” Nico’s face clears in realization. “People with animalistic bodies, yes? Like fishmen, but with ground-based animals.”

You nod, slowly. Does Chopper not know what he is? Was he abandoned out in the Grand Line, or East Blue, or something?

“Oh, I’m not a Mink!” ... Are you sure? “I’m a reindeer!” He beams up at you. (Cutecutecute)

Oh. Of course. A talking reindeer.

“Ah, I see,” you say, not seeing at all. You cut off some more pancake. “A talking reindeer, yes. That makes sense.” That makes no sense. Mmm, pancakes. “So why piracy, again?”

He slumps a little. “Well - because I’m... unusual... a lot of humans wouldn’t be safe to travel with... so I didn’t leave my home like I wanted to at first. But Luffy and everyone showed me they didn’t care about stuff like that!” There’s a growing fire in his eyes and emotions. “I’m an important part of the crew, and they respect me! Even if they don’t always rest up properly when I tell them to.”

That’s Zolo, right? You bet it’s Zolo.

More importantly... you can sort-of understand why Chopper’s travelling with the Strawhats now, but the backstory’s still confusing there. And no matter how desperate a pirate crew is for a doctor, who recruits a tiny deer kid?! Well. The Strawhats, obviously. But still.

>Hey by the way shall we stay here and ALL DIE HORRIBLY

“So...” You finish off your own pancakes a little before Doctor Cutie and Nico, setting your plate aside. “Wait for the others, or set out on our own? I don't like being a sitting target... but I also don't want to leave Merry alone."

Nico visibly considers, while Doctor Cutie keeps eating. You’re relieved that they both seem a lot more relaxed by now. Truly, sugar is the cure of all ills. There you go, Chopper, your dream is complete.

“Between the two of us, I believe we should be fairly safe,” Nico allows, “although no doubt stronger opponents willing be sent next time. It depends on how quickly they decide to escalate.”

“I think we should stay and keep working on Merry,” Chopper votes. “The others can look after themselves, and Merry can’t protect herself.”

“But if we’re gone, the enemy will no doubt come after us rather than an empty ship,” Nico points out. “Besides which, we’ve already done much for the ship. This ‘Upper Yard’ could contain important things, which the others are too few in number to find. Especially with Mister Samurai’s sense of direction...”

>Stay or go? Why?

>should i stay or should i go now doodly doodly doooo if I go there will be trouble doodly doodly do

“I think we should go,” you decide. “If someone stronger turns up, we’re going to be the priority, and we should try to be away from collateral damage. Plus...”

Two curious faces turn to you.

“... there might be really cool stuff to take pictures of.”

“........”

“What?”

“Well, it looks like we’re leaving,” Nico says, her own plate finished. “I’ll start packing emergency supplies, and then we can leave.”

“And I need to do the washing up,” you remind her.

“... Yes, that too.”

Chopper still looks worried. “You think Merry will be safe?”

You... don’t really want the God-wannabe to get Ideas if he can hear you. How to make Merry sound unimportant while still reassuring the doctor? “We’re way more important to kill than trashing a ship that can’t even move,” you tell him, reaching out to pay his hat. He doesn’t flinch. Yay!

That seems to get his okay; which is why you find yourself quickly rinsing off plates, because you’re not an asshole who uses other people’s kitchens and then leaves work for them.

I wanna see how he and Flashman rewct to each other. It should be fun.
>>
>>3488715
Gedatsu is the only one of the three I actually remember as having a funny character quirk. A singularity would form if Gedatsu, Luffy, and Flashman were standing together due to sheer denseness.
>>
>>3488724
I see you're a woman of culture BP. Tatsuki was so underutilized it hurts. Riruka just outdoes Tatsuki for me. Coyote best wolf.

Riruka is also acceptable. Good choice.

Looks like 6-7 votes for Gedatsu and one and three for Ohm and Dial respectively.

Gonna do a quick catch-up on Mr ‘I forgot to open my eyes’ and then write.

>fuck memopad, let's see what I remember

When all's packed, Nico first leaves a note in case anyone comes back to the ship, then passes Chopper a whistle that was hung from the mast.

Apparently it summons a free rescue from some pegasus-riding knight guy named Gan Fell, who saved the Strawhats' asses earlier while you were passed ou- uh, asleep.

Yeah, Chopper's the best one to carry it.

Nico takes the lead, by dintof having a map and acting like she actually knows what she's doing, while you chill and pretty much just take pictures as the three of you walk.

She hasn't said it, but you're pretty sure Nico's looking for that golden city that was mentioned earlier... but do you really care? It's not like it has an owner, if it's been abandoned - and the money WOULD fix Merry. On the other hand, pirates obtaining any gold is kind of...

Ugh. When did life get complicated?

All right, heading back THIS time, 63 plus 18 for your Haki, versus first dice of this roll (plus 10).

Back laterish. An hour? Maybe? Also, what was that earlier about OP quests on akun?
>>
>>3488873
81 vs 83?
A minor loss for us.
>>
>>3488873
There's two currently running if I remember right.
Ascendant Dawn, where the players play as Luffy with the Goro Goro fruit. And another that's about training as a marine just after Gol D. Roger's execution
>>
>>3488888

Literally an effortless stomp all the way up to Marineford.
Why?
>>
>>3488894
Because power fantasies are a fucking plague.
>>
>>3488888
Nice post number...

And that Marine one sounds interesting. Never been on akun but might check it out. Anyone play/read it?

>>3488894
I would assume the Marines would send more powerful combatants against him rather than canon being the same despite his Fruit?
>>
>>3488894
They do start off really young (8 I think?) but yeah I didn't get into it because it felt like it was going to go into power fantasy territory. That being said apparently the quest has the opposite problem of this one, with the dice being stupidly unlucky.

>>3488899

Stations of canon is generally boring, but it's such a pain in the arse to figure out how things change and keep track of them...

I have no idea how Water 7 will turn out for the Strawhats. Ennies Lobby may not even happen in ANY respect. Must find a way to wrangle Brooke and Franky, guh. CP9. Pluton. Blackbeard. Zolo's swords. Bartolomeo. Sabo. WB pirates. Xiaolong pirates. Thursday. Heeeeelp.
>>
>>3488912
Every quest site is its own special kind of terrible. But when that quest is a low effort power fantasy like all its qms other quests they do have more and stronger enemies, or did last time I checked at least.
>>
>>3488928
Its the web you spun, QM, now roll yourself in it.
>>
>>3488928
>Brooke should be simple at least right? They were just sailing around and picked him up from what I remember. Franky may be quite a bit tougher. Marineford and Enies are definitely a pickle. Damn Flashman, causing problems with canon.
>>
>>3488953
Where on earth did that meme arrow come in? Oh well.

Also Xialong Pirates. Im excited to see them again.
>>
>>3488899
>I would assume the Marines would send more powerful combatants against him rather than canon being the same despite his Fruit?
They had to keep their fruit secret to avoid getting a Vice Admiral sicked on them yeah. But the dice are hilarious. Emperor Shizi and his Heavenly Kingdom is comedy gold with how he fucks with the WG.
>>
>>3488962
I mean Shiki. Not Shizi.
>>
>>3488962
That actually aounds pretty interesting, I might read both those quests. Also I don't know how this quest ISN'T a low effort power fantasy, because seriously, I've given you a crime-detecting pistol, an Acid Fruit based on a joke roll from vomiting, and you just arrested Ace. As an Ensign.

Like, this isn't realistic even for One Piece, my dudes. It's really, really, dumb. You have All The Bloodlines. ALL OF THEM.

Anyway, back and writing soon.
>>
>>3488986
With our bloodlines we are the Ichigo of One Piece.
>>
>>3488986
We don't have any waifus, or a dream of becoming the strongest or anything, we're mostly wandering around and getting our asses saved by DICE GODS

So it feels less like a power fantasy and more like riding a comfy tsunami and hanging on for dear life while having the time of our lives
>>
>>3488989
I blame Mina. Its the Blood-Blood fruits problem. Also, how does Flashy feel about Strawberries?
>>
>>3488986
It’s a mix of good and bad stupid. Like, you remember that Bandit that lead to Shanks losing his arm? Well....they ensured Shanks kept both arms this time around, by managing to roll a Nat100 on activating their DF powers, when punching the guy in the dick for trying to lay hands on mama Makino.

There was a great flash of light, and when everyone could see again, the bandit was on the floor missing everything from the waist down.

So yeah, Luffy became a killer at 6, and some minor short term trauma, but he also got the guys bounty, and ensured Shanks kept his arm.

I can keep going if you want OP?
>>
>>3489012
Have they left cowboy island yet?
>>
>>3489016
Oh yeah and they did Arlong too. They just conquered the Golden Triangle and are talking to Sand Sculpture Shiki for their reward.
>>
>>3489012
But Shanks losing his arm is thematically important.
He doesn't even seem to want it back.
Like, he knows Law.
>>

>>3489012
Thanks, but I'm good, I'll read it myself. But it does sounds like an interesting premise if things actually change instead of mysteriously remaining canonical.

>>3489022
If he got it back, he'd have to fight Mihawk. Smart guy, not getting a new one.

Anyhoo, think I've got my dumbass priest review complete, writing.
>>

From what I remember in canon Shanks is still challenging Mihawk to spar. He just gets turned down since Mihawk doesn’t want to fight someone with a Handicap if I remember right.

>>3489041
Tbf, that would kill him, and OP said if we killed Arlong then Jinbei would refuse to join us.

It was funny tho. When he tried to dive underwater and his shark on darts Attack and shit, we jumped on top on his tower, and threatened to burn his Flag if he didn’t come out and face us like a man. It’s was hilarious just how pissied he got.

"magic is for faggots".

>>
>>3489058
I mean, speaking as someone who's doing Kendo in club, I will say yes and no at the same time; you can do different things with a katana whether you're holding it one-handed or two-handed.

The second is better for hitting Men (i.e. downward strike aimed at the head) since you can exercise more "pulling" strength with both hands whereas the first is better for Do (side slash aimed at the stomach) since you can move more widely and with more amplitude when you aren't constricted by a second hand holding the handle.

No matter what "double the hands, double the power" is still fucking retarded, especially when it's hailed as a genius idea by everyone around.
>>
>>3489034
I'm pretty sure Kubo was just pulling stuff out of his arse by the time the final Aizen showdown arrived.

>>3489050
Well of course Shanks isn't going to ADMIT he doesn't want to fight ol' Hawk-eyes, right? It's obviously a bluff to make himself look enthusiastic, because he knows Mihawk won't accept. Actually Shanks is basically Buggy, he's totally weak and just bluffs everyone into thinking he's strong. Facts.

>81 v 83, slight loss

Your Haki is tiring out, and your head is starting to throb. That's your excuse for why you end up running into the second weirdo attacked of the day without sensing him.

Nico shoots you a Look as the three of you pause at the sight of the massive, intimidating guy standing a distance in front of you. Watching. Waiting.

Yeah, well, Nico didn't see him either, did she? And she can make eyes and ears! Why wasn't SHE scouting?

There's another guy as well, with... horns? And goat ears? Another mink? This one's dressed as some kind of priest, which makes you eye him warily.

Looks like however tough the big guy looks, the real danger is the man behind him.

The big guy (his lackey? Apprentice? Bodyguard?) glares at the three of you, silent and motionless.

Chopper squeaks and ducks behind you.

>what a scary guy...

You could probably take out the lackey with a quick pistol-shot, but... the way he's glaring at you all makes you want to return the intimidation.

You draw yourself up to your gloriously tall 5' 11", and glare right back up at him, tension crackling in the air.

You'll see just who blinks first.

"Gedatsu-sama!" The priest behind him calls, frustration evident. Wait, 'sama'? "You're thinking instead of speaking again! Remember to open your mouth and push the sound out!"

"!!!!!!!!" The massive guy's shock is obvious.

"........" is your own response. And Nico's. And Chopper's. You can feel all three of you trying to collectively not look at each other.

The Gedatsu guy (who's apparently the boss, what the hell?) at least speaks now. "I am Aero Lieutenant Gedatsu, priest of Enel!" Also, you tall, buddy. Yikes. "Not only have you and your companions left the Altar of Sacrifice, but you've slain a fellow priest!"

Wait, what. When?

His narrowed eyes flick over to the lance on your back.

... no way. That wuss dude was a priest? A priest of what, the god of dying real easy? Serves him right for going on 'a-head', heh. He was let down by a lack of 'skull', eheheheh.

Yeah, nah. You let Pistol-chan make the retort.

Loudly.

With a bullet. And a little help from the last dregs of your Haki to predict any dodging, before your head starts feeling like it might split open.

Gedeadsu looks puzzled.

"Gedetsu-sama! You've just been shot in the chest!"

"!!!!!!" Gedeadsu emotes, visibly shocked. Then he slowly topples backwards, landing with a crashing thud.

An awkward silence lingers.

"Ah..." the sheep-guy says. He looks at the body. Then back at you and the smoking Pistol-chan. "Bye."

Nah unless we can kill Robin with a quickdraw attack we're dead meat - she can grow those limbs pretty damn quickly (as seen with her getting a hand in position to break our wrist if we even thought about drawing Ka-tan when we confronted her), so if we don't kill her with our first move it's death by neck snap.

Also she has a fear of fire after the Fireplace incident, so her panic after birdy breathed fire probably slowed her down enough that Flashy got the first attack in.

>Even in Nicos backstory, it’s implied that all the people she backstabbed were actually done in by other people.
Anon, Robin was Crocodile's #2. You think she never got her hands dirty? How about all those neck snaps? Even during one of her genuine moments, just after Crocodile's defeat, she straight up said that all her focus had been on the Poneglyphs, and she never worried about people's lives. She only changed because Luffy is Luffy.

Despite this, Robin isn't a terrible person and neither is Flashman. Trying to make the latter out to be a villain because he's killed people who are either genuine pirates or trying to kill him is retarded.
>>
>>3489803
I don't think anyone is trying to make Flashy out as the bad guy. Just a practical dude who's not afraid to ice a fucker if they're out to take him out in turn.

And yes, Robin is best girl.
>>
>>3489799
Gan Fall takes, what, a 30 Million Volt shock from Enel DIRECTLY TO THE HEAD and somehow is relatively fine after it. A snapped neck is pretty low on the "that's supposed to be lethal" counter in One Piece world apparently.
>>
>>3489765
>>3489753
We can all agree Flashman will probably lose his shit in the face of the crueler aspects of Absolute Justice, like Buster Call shit, ye?
>>
>>3489808
Pirate mode Flashy is basically Law.
>>
>>3489814
Oh yeah, Buster Calls are ridiculously cruel.
Hearing about Ohara will destroy Flashy's confidence in the WG and justice.
>>
>>3489792
Yeah, Robin kills... kind of a lot of people. Understandable considering her past, but it's still a LOT, and quite a bit of the time, she probably didn't have to. Hell, in Skypiea she kills an enemy who surrendered because she was pissed off at him trashing a historical site.

Robin's thought processes are aurvival-based. If snapping necks gives her a good chance of winning and it would take more time and energy to just break their limbs, thus giving them a decent chance of taking her down before then, she'll snap all the necks she thinks best.

In this case, the guy is clearly no threat, unimportant, hasn't offended her much, and Chopper's there. With the actual threat removed, she sees no gain in killing him, and it's killing that she thinks unjustified that moves her to distaste here.

She's getting better, but it's early days with the Strawhats, still. And of course she's waiting to be backstabbed by them anyway, so...
>>
>>3489814
Oh, 100%. Full on crisis of faith that's gonna involve a major one-on-one conversation with Smoboss about what it means to be a marine.

Could it be that Flashman's real superpower is being an anti-plot armor talisman? I mean, Shura survived being hit with the Reject Dial but somehow a cannonball blows his head like a watermelon.
>>

The dude flash killed in the bar was trying to start a fight. It was more preemptive self defense.

>>

Imagine the irony of them getting wiped out by a super super weapon that nobody even began to think existed.
>>
>>3489792
Literally everyone we've ever seen her do this to has lived.

Yama was banished to another island after the arc with all the other priests. (Admittedly this is off screen, but according to Oda, that's what happened.)

Even the person who deserved to die the MOST, Spandam, is still around and kicking after getting clutched.

Lets face it, it's One Piece World. None of the Strawhats are killers, even Zoro and Robin.
>>
>>3489903
I mean.
Zoro was one hundred percent going to END that world noble.

Bounty Psychopath Quest
>>
Is Flashy's view of the world being shaken by the Strawhats being a bunch of dumbasses?
Will he admit that not all pirates are bad people despite being CRIMINAL SCUM.
Will this concerns pile up until he sees a buster call in action while sugar-deprived and lets Doflamingo Harry fry the responsibles with a lightning storm/crush them with conquerors Haki?
Who knows...
>>
>>3489848
And then we move on to Bakery Quest as you try to survive as a retired Marine setting up a bakery, while trying to avoid kidnapping by Big Mom pirates who are desparate for your macarons!

>>3489903
Yama survived? Reeeeeeeeeally, Oda? Reeeeeeeeally? But still - sorry anon, but in this Quest canon, the two of them have killed. Zoro less so because you get more for living bounties, but even he admits to killing the BW agents who tried to kill him when he refuse recruitment. Hell, I even had him kill back in Loguetown.
And Robin has DEFINITELY killed when she thought it best for her. I know this is One Piece world, but even I can't suspend disbelief to pretend she was giving all those guys neck massages so good that they fainted with pleasure (and cracking sounds).

>it was while you were in heaven, killing a priest of god, that you considered the possibility that the world might have a few more shades of grey in there. and not the badly-written bdsm kind.

Wat.

Your first thought is that they must try not to kill in front of Chopper, for obvious reasons.

But...

It's a pirate ship. A pirate crew. Chopper obviously knows they kill people SOMETIMES, at least. And it's true that while you've heard of some deaths attributes to the Strawhats - a few of Captain Hina's men spring to mind, or the pirates Zolo killed back in Loguetown - you've heard a lot more about those they've left alive.

(1/2)
>>
Arlong. Buggy. Alvida. Crocodile's Agents. Sure, maybe they were just strong, but most of them, the Strawhats could have killed after they were taken down, right? And all the mooks and cannon fodder subordinates... yeah, there's some deaths there, but a lot of them are from after the fact - bleeding out due to their comrades running, rather than straight-up lethal attacks.

Admittedly, a death caused by someone not caring or knowing if their victim will get medical care afterwards is still terrible, but as far as you can recall, at least most of their targets are hurt in a way that suggests they're supposed to survive, right?

Lolonoa's good. You can admit it. And ruthless, too, you've seen HIM kill back in Loguetown. To save your life, even. But have you seen him be actively malicious with it?

Have you seen ANY of them be...?

Nico Robin is practically a legend, and not in a good way. And her she is now, passing up am opportunity to kill an enemy, disgusted at the idea, even, because...? He's running away? Weak? You don't know.

And Cheapshot... of course he's not just a perverted guy who loves to cook. You know that. You've seen the after-action reports. But still...

And as for Strawhat...

..........

The Witch Thief still sucks, though.

(2/3probably)
>>
...

Oh shitting fuck.

Of course, they're pirates. They're here.to find a golden city (three guesses why). They re criminals. They're not GOOD guys.

But they saved a country, and their crewmate (friend). They take down pirates who DO slaughter. And they're nice to a random nobody who they think is only good for baking.

Why.

What.

How.

Why does NOTHING MAKE SENSE THESE DAYS.

"Mr Guest?" Nico's voice returns you, blinking stupidly, to the world. "Are you quite all right?"

"I." You try to gather your thoughts. "I need to sit down for a minute."

"... Mr Guest, you're currently lying down."

Oh. Yes. So you are.

You shove yourself to sit upright, suddenly aware of the not-entirely-murderous pirate crouched beside you. She eyes you warily. "Chopper wanted to look you over," she says, in casual warning.

Doctor Cutie fumes from nearby. "And Robin wouldn't let me!"

"Right." You can guess why, as you quickly check your cap and high collar are in place. "I'm fine, really. Just overdid this, uh. Thing I can do. With my mind."

Nico arches an eyebrow. The visible one, not the gauze-covered one. Maybe she raises that one too, you can't see it. "Thinking?"

"... Yes, that's exactly it. I thought too hard."

Polite disbelief rings through her expression. "I see. I won't ask where the tipping point comes."

"Good, keep up that lack of curiosity." You get to your feet, brushing dirt off your clothes. "Okay! All good! So much better now! Just dandy, in fact.

Although Daddy Masterson might turn up one day, because I managed to watch that one!

>>3491130
Gotta be honest, there probably won't be a timeskip. Things are moooostly sort of in line with canon at the moment, but all these little changes are adding up. Plus with most of the canon Strawhats safely recruited, I can take things off the rails even more now!

Bright side, even after timeskip Lolonoa only grows to 5' 11" or so. If you can get to 6' in the next two years, you've got him beat.

>>

I'd like to see more Klaus when we get back on the line, but that's a given on account of hobo-dad likes to drink and beat up on Flashy. I've mentioned Robin's rapport with Arthur, but I think that I like it because it's aloof and cautious so I'm not sure if i would like it if it continued developing beyond that. Plus, she's a pirate. Same with Chopper and Sanji, even though I like their dynamic.

I want to get back to Fop and try to set things right, as amusing as Princess Flashman is. I want it to be a joke, and not something that is a point of continual anxiety. And Ta-sis. I miss Ta-sis a lot and her absence is felt. Den-Den scene was great.

Marine side we've got a family. Smoker is a dude, Tashigi is best sister, learning bullshit from Garp and Klaus is hilarious. I'm happy with how it's going so far. Skypiea is giving Flashman new perspectives and when we leave we'll be back with our crew.

Really the only thing I *want* to do plot wise is have Flashy learn about his past. It's getting to be about time for him to learn his juicy backstory in my opinion.

I dont mean like a whole dump. Mostly just Flashman catching bits and pieces of it. Like sand in an hourglass, just getting that particular ball rolling. Other metaphors for getting started and what not.

Oh hell no. I'm DEEPLY enjoying the subtle little references and bits. Whenever we drink our Doflamingo comes out. The feather boa, the casual murder, the pink flamingos themselves. I just want a GRIN at some point. We shouldn't learn backstory IC until we encounter Law or Uncle Dearest himself.

If we really want to find out who the compass belongs to we should take a picture of it and give it to someone who has a lot of contacts with the marines, like garp

NEW THREAD, ARCHIVING THIS ONE

Will read your comments when I’m done crying over how we spent a whole thread on about 1-2 in-game hours.

Robin. Robin is life. Also, since she has the most tragic backstory, I'm REALLY looking forward to Harry finding out just how fucked up the WG is and the fact that the Marines don't exist to uphold justice, but in fact exist to uphold the WG.
