PREVIOUSLY

-Both you and Riku Kuromiya [Sword Hero] exchange words, simultaneously clashing the difference of idealogy over how the world should be governed.
-In the crossfire, you end up discovering that Rifana was best friends with Raphtalia, a Tanuki Demi-Human that joined Nickolas's party.
-During the meeting you met with Pope Gregory Balamus, current leader of the church of the three heroes. You tried to set up a plan to work with the shield, but through strange influences and being convinced by the majority including Lucien Ainsworth [Bow Hero] to go along with the Pope's strategy.
-Through careful planning and setup, your party manages to safely protect the main village. Though lack of foresight made you unable to provide additional support to Nick upon seeing him defend Lute Village.
-Joined by Elena, Vivian and Aden, you made your way to the wave's boss. It was the mighty Chimera, the four head beast as you fought bravely. Although, for some reason the reinforcements were off schedule.
- Thanks to the hard efforts of Aden, revealing her status as a Wolf/Kitsune hybrid Beastman, you ended up lasting long enough for reinforcements to arrive. Together the three Cardinal Heroes manage to defeat the Chimera with you delivering the fatal blow.
-After collecting the heads, you and the party reunite to tend to Aden before going with Vivian and Elena to the King's party.
-Through some unforeseen circumstances, Myne Sophia managed to ensnare you into a one on one battle with Nick. Although at first you didn't want to do it, you were taken over by the Spear as Myne's clever usage of Melody's identity awaken the Curse Series within you.
-Driven by all kinds of lust especially bloodlust from the Spear of Lust, you fought Nick to the point of destroying him once you nearly gave into the Spear's power.
-It took the mental image of Rifana and the real time actions of Elena to snap you out of it. You learned that you almost ended up not only killing Nick but harming Vivian as well with your final attack. Thus begins your eternal struggle over resisting the growing power the cursed spear.
- After recovery from the Spear of Lust's side-effects, you head off with Elena and Vivian to collect upon the reward. However, you were soon joined by the now human-form of Blake.
-Once you completed your requirements, you were then greeted by the Queen's Shadow, Zorya.
- Through her you learn the dark secret about the Kingdom. More importantly, you gotten the back story of Rinora Hawkins aka Melody and Myne Sophia who was really Malty. S Melrmomac, First Princess to Mirellia Q Melromarc.
-You came to accept Zorya's request of saving Melody while working with plans to find someone who can destroy slave crests.

-As you made your way to the church, you found Melody and co discussing with Pope Gregory Balamus. Through Melody's actions, you were giving the cure to the after effects of the Spear of Lust. Though, you end up learning that Melody was also connected to the church of the three heroes.

-Once you return to the inn, you confronted a de-armored Aden. At first you only introduced Freya and avoided the subject. However, through Rifana's guidance you went up and talked to Aden one on one.
-You discovered Aden was in fact the byproduct of a demi-human mother and beastman father as her family came from Siltvelt. Through your talks you learned about Aden's backstory and her self-hatred/fear of her strong dual bloodlines.
-Through your efforts you manage to reconnect to Aden and get her through her insecurities.
- Your fears about the Bio-seed were confirmed when you learned that the party traded obtaining it for your life. Thus falling into the hands of Malty as a doppelganger masquerade as you. Spreading rumors and worsening your relationship with Nickolas as a result.
- You and the rest of the party head to Dragon Mountain to train. Freya bonded with everyone while Blake started to become more and more curious about her heritage as a pureblood dragon.
-Upon arrival, you were met with a harsh epidemic that took countless lives. Through the remaining heads, you learn that the cause was a slain dragon. They tasked Riku the honor of killing to save the village from a growing monster invasion.
- However, Blake refused to believe that as she ran off angry. Concern about your dragon, you and several of the party members followed after her while the rest ended to the sick.
- Reaching the source of the epidemic, you see Raphtalia cursed by Nickolas Black Shield while Blake fought against Filo. You managed to break up the fight, but learn a terrible secret.
-Through Blake you learn the truth about the zombie dragon. It was once a noble dragon name Gaelion who protected the village and treated the monsters as family. He adopted a dog demi-human name Wyndia after her mother died from her injuries.
- In order to seek out the truth, you confronted the village leaders and learn the shocking discovery. It seem that they made it up in order to profit over the dragon's corpse and gain riches and publicity for the village.
-Stuck between the crossroads, both you and Blake manage to avoid giving into hate and bloodlust. Instead you force the village to repent for their sins.

- You had a one to one talk with Blake. Comforting her over the sorrow over Gaelion and potentially theorizing that she was related to him. Slowly she returned to her old self, but no longer the same naive and innocent child you once knew.
- You eventually met up with Riku to tell him the truth. Confronted by his own failures, Riku set out to gather information about Wyndia.
-Upon reaching the meeting point, you found yourself talking to Lucien. You learn the truth to his actions as he tells you about the rebellions lead by "Caesar".
-Although you had different ideologies, you two came to a common goal in wanting to not be the pawns of the corrupt nobles. The three cardinal heroes came to an alliance for the sole mission of saving Wyndia from slavery.
-Taking Rifana and Elena with you, you make your way to the slave farm alongside Riku's team.
-Although you and your team managed to achieve your objective, you ended up meeting a mysterious scientist name Kyo. Through the confrontation you learned more about Rifana.
-Through Kyo's actions he summoned Cerberus, the first wave monster and destroyer of Rifana's village. Despite that, you came to ask Kyo to destroy the slave crest in exchange for a favor.
-Meanwhile Rifana and Aden were surrounded by knights once Idol Rabier confirmed that Rifana was a spy. They held their own against the knight and easily defeated the army, Cerberus came and attacked Rifana.
-Tying her best despite her fears, she attempted to lead it away only to be trapped by a spell circle. Pushed back into a corner, Rifana partially awakened and went berserk.
-You and Blake made your way back to Rifana and a injured Elena. Through your efforts you manage to heal Elena with the assistance of the alchemist Sigurd and get through Rifana
-No longer berserk, Rifana call forth the power from within and with the party's help defeated Cerberus.
-After a touching moment, you return back to the party to find them unconcious. Melody's seal was broken but the party confirms that Kyo did came here to break the seal.
-Through discussion with Sigurd, you learn that Melody was mutated with Faubley magic and science. She has Filolial DNA in her and has the terrible condition that reverts her into a werebeast based on Filolial if left unchecked.
-You left things under Sigurd's care and went to prepare for the wave. Eventually before the meeting you went to the Dragon's Hourglass. You were met with conflict as Rifana and Aden were charged unfairly for a class up.
- Instead you used this as an excuse to teach Blake class up as you ended up making a new ally. The Dragonfly .
- You and the cardinal heroes discussed with the pope the next plans as you did everything you can to tackle the next wave.

And now our story continues.

Upon being teleported from castle town, you find yourself and the party arriving at the village. Exactly as you expected, the village was starting to be run with countless monsters such as the Lizardmen and zombies. Naturally, you order your party to help with the people while you yourself combat against the threat. You know that deep down that while you wanted to stay with the group, you needed to head to where Riku is and invade the ghost ship.

Couldn't we make two parties instead?
One holding a stationary area and the other roaming to find any sub bosses or people being overwhelmed at their shelters? Communication is important in battles.

With the spearphone you can easily keep in contact with the party. So there was no issues with keeping track of the party's movements. Therefore, you went and chose to go to the ghost ship with Blake, Aden, Vivian, Melody and Siguard. That just left Elena, Rifana, Andros and the dudes you trained up to handle the sub-bosses and enemies below. With Rifana's power up, you believe that they got nothing to really worry about.

So on your magic black dragon Blake, you and the gang took to the skies.Once again you were starstruck by how much Blake has grown. Already she was able to handle the entire party without losing speed or maneuverability as a large black dragon.

With Blake's speed it didn't take you long to make it to the Ghost Ship. Right on time too since Riku ends up also making it too the ghost ship with one of his swords. He was accompanied by his party of four which made up for a good dynamic between you and him.

Naturally the monsters on the ship started to materialize and begin to swarm around you. Each of your party members got into position. Melody went and buffed the party while Vivian took care of crowd control. Aden and Sigurd worked on defense which left you and Blake completely on the offense. A solid lineup that was only enhanced further by Riku's team.

As both parties continue their onslaught on the moblings, things started to get harder for you. Those came in the form of a large undead captain and a kraken as they start to materialize. Given their high levels, part of you wanted to believe that either of them could be the boss. However, you remember during the meeting that the actual boss was the soul eater. So you needed to try and find a way to draw it out in the open.

I completely forgot it still existed and don't even trust my memory about it existing. I wasn't gonna go on the ship, but I guess the QM wants to give us the option to make sure the other 2 heroes don't die. Then we go hardcore and make parsers while extrapolating rough formulae for damage/exp/stat calculations to actually see what's going on. If we're gonna be stuck doing boring as shit grinding for leveling from now on, we are going to hit peak EFFICIENCY. (Although really in a game, that's the first sign to leave the country for a higher level exp hunting ground than the starter country can provide) Riku is the hardcore MMO player unlike us probably being an RP dude exploring while also being decent enough at our job/class to help out guildmates.

Just so I know where we stand. Should I keep going as I been doing or should I change things up how stuff is presented.

Criticisms and suggestions about how I been handling the game so far is also welcomed.

Mostly going fine. I was extremely confused for a moment at us having to pick out a party when everyone was supposed to be defending the town.
I'm slightly worried about long term cast bloat since the SMART thing to do would be have far more people in a hero party to abuse that sweet sweet exp gain and include loyal members of Royalty in order to counteract any later rebellions. We're in one tiny barely significant country when the entire planet . There are entire untapped continents of exp that should be getting used to make the planet capable of defending itself, but all of those countries are too busy bickering like idiots.

Now that I think of it, one thing I do have trouble with is weapon selection. I'd have to download photoshop to do it myself, but a blankish template to show the unlocking web and then another spear template to write in the spear names/effects, and another ??? template to clone drag/drop to show possible unlocks might be good. This quest is mostly going off of freeform, so the numbers themselves don't actually matter outside of knowing it's higher than before or stronger than a different spear. Any updates, edits or new additions to said template can just be handwaved as us opening up even more unlocks somehow.

Another thing that just came to mind is that I'm having trouble keeping track of time? Perhaps a timestamp of how many days/weeks it's been since we were summoned would stop me being so dumb on that front?


I have absolutely no idea what a 21 year old Irish college student would have on his phone. Anyone got a playlist? I'm kind of surprised nobody has played any music on that phone. I can't be the only one with a massive music collection. I bet all of us heroes could get together and start a music company since broadcasting capabilities are clearly there.

Although there were countless enemies, there was a much bigger target to deal with. Currently the best course of action for you was to check your surroundings. You wanted to know just exactly what this Ghost ship was carrying. Thus, you begin to run across the massive pirate themed ghost ship. With spear in hand you begin to observe our surroundings. Looking for anything that was completely out of the ordinary. Well, as ordinary as a haunted ghost ship can really be.

Your eyes notice the countless cannons and artillery as they dart around. The condition of the guns were as clear as day to you. They were bent out of shape and warn out. By normal standards that means they wouldn’t be effective right? If anything this world ended up teaching you was it’s that you should never judge a book by its cover. For these cannons could still be possessed and capable of firing perfectly despite their condition. So you needed to take care of them quickly before they were to be of use.

With the architect spear in hand you started to seal off the cannons. You wanted to disrupt any and all possible means of long range attacks that the ship could do. At least that way the overall damage will be both limited and minimized accordingly. Of course such a tactic left you partially defenseless due to your Spear’s power going into rearranging the wooden planks.

That said, you left it to the party to ultimately watch your back while you continue to play architect. Between Vivian’s area of effect magic, Blake’s powerful flames, Melody’s boosts and both Sigurd and Aden’s defenses, it seem a solid wall was placed upon you to do your work. Most of the monsters had their hand handling your party, including the giant Hydra-like Kraken coming into the scene. You use this time to use Identification in order to gauge its level which was at level forty nine along with its basic information.

Meanwhile Riku’s side went to tackle the monsters on the other side of the flying ghost ship. That just left Riku to directly take on the Undead Skeleton Pirate Captain. With “identification” you were able to see the same thing about the walking sub-boss. It was at level forty nine and you can deduce that it was weaker than the Kraken in terms of raw power and defenses. However, it had some sort of higher regeneration and recovery skill. So unless it was destroyed completely, it would just keep coming back. Something Riku already notice when wielding Crimson Sword to deliver of series or relentless attacks on the Skeleton Pirate Captain.

At the very least, the cannons and artillery was sealed by your actions. Yet you notice something strange moving in the shadows.

Well i wouldn't consider Lucien oir friend. But Riku and our own party? Those are indeed our friends.

In order to be sure, you followed the shadow. It was jumping from one shadow to another as it orchestrates the scene. At the same it was hoping from shadow to shadow in order to avoid detection. From your observation based on the two fights between the ship’s sub-bosses it’s the shadow that is keeping them from fading. If you take out the shadow or at least keep it from doing its job, then the soul eater would have to respond.

You quickly set up a connection to both your party and Riku’s through telepathy curtesy of the spearphone. You mention exactly what you discovered during your observation. They were quite quick to take up the intake.

“A living shadow? Wait if that’s the case then….”

Riku took the same stance as he did before. He was gunning to use another Crimson Slash Strike on the Skeleton Pirate Captain. Once again the skeleton fell to the swift multitude of strikes from different points. You question why exactly would he do this when he knows the results. It was only for a moment as you see precisely what he was getting at as the shadow moves towards the Skeleton Pirate Captain.

“There you are!”

Riku threw his sword directly at the shadow. The shadow was forced out from its hiding spot as it couldn’t keep the skeleton sub-boss from falling apart and recovering simultaneously. Without the assistance of the shadow, the skeleton sub-boss couldn’t withstand Riku’s relentless attacks and crumbles to dust as a result. That was one sub-boss down and now they just needed to take care of the Kraken.

“Let’s try this again! 「Dragon’s Breath」”

“「Ars Zveit Flame Tornado」”

Both Blake and Vivian times their attacks in unison while gathering mana. This leaving Sigurd and Aden to protect them from any of the Hydra’s attack. Melody on the other hand was boosting the party’s strength while remaining within Sigurd and Aden’s guard circle. You on the other hand decide to call forth the Lightning Spear by changing your architect spear. Once the two little powerhouses were ready, both Sigurd and Aden moved out of their way. Blake lead the attack by releasing a powerful wave of crimson flames. Vivian followed suit with her torrent of bright orange-red flames. The two large streams started to twist and circulate around one another. This ended up transforming two streams of fire into one giant spiraling drill of flames. The Kraken was burning relentlessly as it pulls back in pain. Forcing the shadow into the spotlight, you went to stab it with your Lightning Spear. That is until you heard a voice calling out.

“What exactly are you guys doing!”

Out from the sky came what appears to be a giant owl. You recall this owl being familiar given its white puffy feathers and blue outlines. You then come to realize that bird was none other than Filo herself. Riding alongside the giant bird was Nickolas and Raphtalia. Seems that either the threat below was getting worse or the monsters were taken care of and he’s just here to speed things up. You quickly mention to Nick about the shadow and how it’s keeping the sub-bosses from disappearing after being defeated

“Shadows huh. Raphtalia use your light magic to flush them out.” Nickolas exclaimed.

“Right Master Nickolas” Raphtalia nodded.

What you saw was good teamwork between the two. Nickolas defended the Tanuki girl from the upcoming strikes from the remaining Hydra that refused to die. While on Raphtalia end she was chanting a spell. A cloak of glowing light manifests around Raphtalia alongside a spell circle. The light started to intensifies as it gets closer to completion. You quickly warn the party to cover their eyes. Everyone took that warning to heart, quickly closing their eyes just moments before Raphtalia was ready.

“Faust Light!”

Upon command Raphtalia releases a large flash of light akin to a widespread flash bomb. You were lucky that everyone closed their eyes before the spell went off. Being blinded by it and stunned wasn’t exactly going to do anyone any favors. Still, you would think Nickolas would be the one to give the warning and not you? Once the light dims enough to safety see, you notice the shadows were squirming from it. So with Lightning Spear, you stabbed against the multitude of shadows with a series of lightning bolts.

The shadows were force to rise to the surface after taking the relentless assault. You would see several shadows shoot upwards, shedding the black outline to reveal their true form. It was streaks of pure white energy as something was manifesting. Something huge was manifesting as the entire party held their ground while watching the spectacle. There it was, the giant Soul Eater. A giant salmon looking monster with white skin, red eyes, and jagged scales and teeth. It let out a large aquatic-like roar as it floats in the air.

Although your idea is solid using only spear prison would allow the creature to dodge. Maybe combine with the Spear forest+ spear fusion+ Holy spear + spear chain and have each individual spear from the spear forest become a fusion of holy spear and chain and allow us to plucl at it dealling holy damage and restraining it at the same time.

“Nickolas why are you here?! I thought you were supposed to be alongside Lucien serving as defense for the village!”

“Lucien is working on pinning the ship with his arrows to keep it from moving further. The monsters have been currently subdued but it’s only a temporally solution. More importantly, the wave will only get worse and the party following me will only worsen over time.”

You still wanted to argue against Nickolas for acting on his own. You can’t be sure if it was due to his distrusting nature of others although justifiable to a degree given how he’s been treated. Or there was something happening down below that forced his hand. You didn’t have the time to argue with Nickolas, but that didn’t mean you still had to accept it. Seeing you stuck between what you should do, Sigurd steps forward between you and Nickolas.

“How about I’ll go and assist. We don’t need three shield defenders now do we?” Sigurd smiled.

Good on Sigurd for being a compromising medium between you and Nickolas. You still had Aden with you so it wasn’t like you were losing defenses. So you agree to Sigurd’s suggestion. Once he got your approval, he begins to walk towards the ship’s mast. He then goes to grab one of the ropes from the ship. With careful precision and timing, he manages to swing his way back towards the ground level. Afterwards he quickly moves back towards the village. Your eyes turn back to the boss.

“So that is the boss. Soul Eater. Everyone, make sure to not let it consume you directly. We don’t know if it can consume souls through biting your flesh or not.”

You might just be paranoid when saying that. However, considering how there seem to be a theme of greek/roman themed bosses so far. You think that this was probably no different. As to what specific mythos it took from you weren’t sure. Still, you kept your guard as you held your spear close. You carefully watched its movement patters in order to grasp how exactly it fights.

The Soul Eater soon lets out a powerful roar, shaking up the ship as it moves around in the air. You gather the pattern it moves is akin to that of a predator fish like a shark. To test its hide, you point your lightning spear at the creature to release a series of voltage. Riku sees you do this and added his own Lightning Based Weapon the Thunder Sword and uses his long range Slash skill to embed the lightning embedded beam with more power. It doubled in strength as a third source seemingly comes out of nowhere. You can only assume it must have been Lucien who was helping empower the attack further with a Thunderbolt Arrow. You weren’t sure if you were impressed by how far he could see or annoyed that he isn’t supporting you more.

Either way, the combo attack between the three of you manage to hit dead on with the creature. The clash of forces manages to create a rather large electrical discharge against the beast. However, it seems to have resisted the attack in some way. Shaking off the attack, the soul eater starts to charge up a green orb of energy.

Nickolas on the other hand started to redirect Filo accordingly while holding a defensive guard. Almost as if he was preparing just in case his next mode of action would fail. Raphtalia remained right beside him in case she needed to be within range of the Shield’s protective aura.

“Filo, cast wind magic.”

“Kay! 「Faust Tornado! 」”

The giant owl started to flap her wings in order to manifest. A rather strong twister from her wing. Given how quick it formed, it didn’t give the Soul Eater the chance to counter. So it was forced to endure the strong winds as it knocks the ball away from its intended direction. You looked as to where it was going as it lets out a powerful explosion of green flames. You turn to Blake after seeing Filo preparing to do it again as Wind magic managed to get through the resistance better than Lightning.

“Blake use your Dragon’s breath to empower Filo’s attack.” You pleaded.

“Blake doesn’t want to…. but 「Dragon’s Breath」”Blake muttered.

Blake quickly huffed and puffed her body, gathering the necessary amount of mana. Before long she times her attack with Filo’s Faust Tornado. On cue she releases a powerful torrent of red flames at the tornado. It started to circulate and spiral around the tornado, turning it into a flaming inferno. The Soul Eater found itself engulfed in its intense flames while this gave you and the party to set up another counterattack.

“Spear Fusion! Chain Spear!”

With but a simple wave of your right arm, you manifest chain spear into form from your Spear. It was a jagged weapon wrapped in chain bindings. Now that Spear Fusion was active, the red jewel on your weapon ended up glowing brightly. A red aura starts to form around the weapon, infusing it with the mystical power of the legendary spear’s skill.

“Next! Holy Spear!”

The Spear didn’t swap out to another spear like it would when using Change Spear. Instead, the chained spear ended up morphing into some sort of hybrid. The golden plates and holy crosses normally found on Holy Spear manifests itself as the weapon warps to look like a chained up holy spear.

The spear points were still jagged but the outline of the blade was still tinted golden and radiated a holy aura. You imminently felt the two forces of these spears merging together. On its own the output was noticeably weaker than it should be normally. Yet once fused together it emitted the same quality that your spear would normally put out when using a single spear form.

“Finally! Air Strike Javelin!”

From your left hand another polearm like weapon manifest itself. It was a javelin styled in the same form as your default spear. However, considering that it was more a construct it was completely tinted in red.

It also looked transparent when you glance at the manifested weapon. It didn’t last long as it quickly merges itself with the current fused spear. This changed the spear to take the form of a harpoon like weapon while maintaining its spear’s characteristics and attributes.

“To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee. Spear Shot!”

You took aimed while chanting these words. You had just one shot to take the Soul Eater by surprise. So you sure as hell wasn’t going to try and miss! Recalling exactly how the creature moves, you aimed to predict where it’s going to be rather than just following its movements.

Once the creature tries to move upwards to break out from the flames, you threw the harpoon with great force and speed thanks to Spear Shot. It traveled where the Soul Eater was heading, successfully managing to make a direct hit. The combined spears were successful in piercing through its hide, dealing a chunk of damage to its health bar. Yet this creature was pretty beefy as you use the chain spear to try and restrain it.

Unfortunately, the Soul Eater started to end up taking you for a wild ride. It’s strength manages to outmatch yours as you end up being pulled rather than doing the pulling. The Soul Eater moves violently, trying to get the chains and the spear from its body.

Leaving you to dangle and hold on to dear life like you were in a rodeo. Meanwhile your party and Riku’s continue to handle the stragglers. The sub-bosses were killed but that didn’t stop the spawning of monsters. Luckily they were all capable as Riku was leading the charge.

You then look down at Nickolas as he starts to suddenly hold Raphtalia’s hand. You question what exactly he was doing but you couldn’t hear the conversation between him and Raphtalia. Suddenly a black shield with strange markings start to form. In addition, Filo was acting quite strange as her blue eyes were completely engulfed with wrathful red energy.

We don't strike me as a person that did fishing much outside of childhood attempts to find a MAGIC FISH, so I'm not sure we'd know how to properly hoist it with a chain through the gills.

Nicklaus seems to be forgetting about making any attempts at actually tanking the damn thing after coming up here which is a complaint I'm not making on tape to give the church more ammo.

Or make a spear forest to bind all of the monsters while also causing there to be a more stable anchor holding the Soul eater down since I'm assuming the new chains that spawn would also be connected to the one going through the Soul eater?
This will open up the chance for hyper offense from all of the parties here if they apply buffs?
Isn't spear supposed to be the most offensively focused weapon? We shouldn't be stuck on Quasi tank duty even if we're also good at it.

Rising Dragon spear sounds cool. I'm definitely going to try it out during the next battle if I remember it exists.

Nick seems to have maintained the "Control freak that isn't remotely as good at working with others as he thinks he is" trait from Naofumi. His esper powers outright brainwash 90% of his troops into liking him and they STILL think he's an amoral asshole. That's kind of impressive when you think about it. If he doesn't tell us to let go of the damn fish so that we aren't hit, I can see why we ended up fighting in that "vision."

We seem to be fire aligned with elements.and it avoided Blake's flames, so we might as well consider fire to be it's main weakness (or the path of least resistance) or start using flame based attacks?

We already managed to penetrate the hide with our spear our chain is linking us to it. We just need to use SpearThrust to sink in deep into the beast and finish it with Shooting star since once pierced the shooting spear will manifest mutiple spear inside the creature and we are already using a holy spear.

Despite currently being swung around like a yo-yo; you continue to try your hardest to hold on. No way you were going to let this giant overgrown fish get the better of you. Now you say that but that didn’t stop the Soul Eater from slamming you against the ship’s mast. You had no choice but to brace yourself from the impact. All to make sure you didn’t let go of the spear and plummet downwards to the ground. At this height you wouldn’t die from the fall, but it would still lead to taking some serious damage.

“Melody, please give us a boost!” You cried out to your teammate, still holding on for dear life as you avoid hitting the ship’s lookout point again.

“Already on it. 「Zveit Max Boost! 」” Upon finishing her chant, you feel a drastic jump in your physical attribute based stats. Strength, speed, defense, stamina and magic power were rising as your body is enveloped in a rainbow colored light.

Your grip tightens as the beast was now having a harder time trying to throw you off of it. Meanwhile you were now hanging on to the flagpole trying to overpower the beast or at least act as an anchor. It was now becoming a battle of fruition between you and the Soul Eater. Your attention turns back to Nickolas as you got an idea.

“"NICK, USE SHIELD PRISON ON US!"

Deep in your heart you was hoping that Nickolas would listen. Having the beast trapped in the Shield Prison would give you enough time to skewer the creature like a pincushion.

“Be quiet” Nickolas replied, oddly in a distorted tone.

You argued with Nickolas but from the looks of it you were rather too slow on the update to do so. The Black Shield was already out and Nickolas seem to look rather out of it. This wasn’t like Nickolas at all. Sure he has serious trust issues and normally acted on what he thought best since he usually had to rely on his own tactics to survive. But you never considered him to flat out not be this bad of a team player.

It then dawned upon you that maybe this was similar to how you ended up when you used the Spear of Lust. But that was impossible! You knew so far that there wouldn’t be any trigger for….oh. It then dawns upon you that the entire treatment that Nickolas has been experiencing may have been the fuel.

However, it doesn’t change the fact you probably played your fair share in driving Nickolas to the deep end. Less you forgotten the duel with him and you under the influence of the spear of lust. Out of the seven deadly sins, your best bet that Nickolas was under some sort of wrathful state.

As this went on you start to notice the strange change in Nick as it worsens. The weird predicament grows more intense as Nickolas’s barbarian armor begins to change. Rather than looking like a bandit leader, his armor changes to that of a black knight. It strongly resembles that of full plate armor as his right arm was encase in a claw like full gauntlet. His eyes were glowing red while his face twists into something more aggressive and demonic. His chest, the purple crystal embedded on the barbarian armor plate was giving off an eerie glow.

Nickolas started to use one of his skills “Hate Reaction” in order to draw the Soul Eater to himself. You were unfortunately pulled along for the ride. The enraged fish starts to ram against Nickolas shield, causing him to smile. You would then see a rising surge of blacken flames start to spread across the creature as it burns it immensely.

You on the other hand were also hit with the flames. The holy spear was giving you resistance to the curse, but it was still affecting you as both you and the creature were continuously burned by its constant attacking against Nickolas’s Shield of Wraith. Before you could lash out at Nick, Blake manages to draw your attention to her.

“Master....Blake isn’t sure but Blake thinks…Gaelion’s still here. Not in a he is always watching sort of way. Rather his lingering feelings are running a mock. And the source of it has to be coming through here. It’s a dragon emperor shard…or so that’s what Blake’s instincts tell her. It's caring Gaelion's hate and rage....Shield Person is being consumed by it.” Blake points at the glowing purple crystal that was currently radiating with a deep shade of purple.

The same glowing light was also coming from Filo as Blake avoids the bird’s talon strike. Blake decided at that point it would be better to remain in human form rather than fight in her true state. Filo was much nimbler than Blake in their transformed state. So she would just be a sitting duck if she were to transform right now.

“Blake will stop Filo. So Blake asks Master …stop Shield Person and Gaelion.” With that, Blake leaps forward to intercept the berserk Filo. Dragon claws were already out and ready to pin the giant bird to the ground. Filo thrashes against Blake while her eyes narrow deeply at the sight.

I think I just figured out Nick's retarded attitude with slavery. Japan didn't enter WWII, so that means that they got to do all of the raping/enslaving from that era mostly unopposed by other nations. Japan already has a slave fetish from all of the comfort women even after losing and getting western ethics implanted, so he probably barely understands why it's morally questionable and thinks anti slavery stances are just Baka Gaijin crap.

The “Self Curse” skill from the Shied of Wraith was burning quite intensely against your body. Even with the Holy Spear’s protection, you could still feel the immense burn. Perhaps if the Holy Spear was in its default form and not the hybrid fusion from Spear Fusion it’d be able to resist it much easier. Still, you needed to do something before the curse ends up incinerating you.
“Shooting Star Spear!” Through sheer force of will and motivation, you manage to call forth the skill. Despite the intense pain of the Self-Curse, you manage to split the power of one spear into a hundred directly against the Soul Eater.


The Soul Eater twists in further pain, finding itself being punctured while still burning from the curse. Your hand still grippingly tightly on to the spear as hundreds of spear strikes start to rapidly impale itself against the beast. Ultimately, it lead to a weak spot for you to take advantage of further.

“…And…Spear Thrust!” With the remainder of your strength you relentlessly shoot out more thrusting strikes from your Legendary Spear in conjunction with Spear Fusion and Shooting Star Spear.

With how much SP you were burning through just to brutalize this thing, it wouldn’t be surprising if you ended up collapsing from the overuse. That and the Self-curious that was ravaging your body. Despite it all, you manage to force yourself up and endure the entirety of the experience. Through war of attrition, the Soul Eater found itself beaten and batter as it drops to the ground.

Although it was eliminated, Nickolas was still under the influence of the Shield of Wraith and Gaelion’s vengeful impulses. You on the other hand was currently dropping to one knee half-haphazardly breathing from the ordeal you just endured. Spear Fusion was on its last legs but it didn’t matter. You needed to get through to Nickolas before the wrathful flames claims everyone.

Meanwhile, Blake continued her fight with Filo. The advantage was clearly with Blake considering that she was still well aware of her actions. At the same time Filo was becoming more and more ferocious the longer this was going on. With a swift kick from the air, Blake had to defend herself by manifesting her black scales on her arms and putting them in a cross position. Her attention quickly turns to Nickolas while resisting the fast movement of Filo via “High Quick.” A skill that greatly increases Filo’s agility and allowing her to attack from multiple angels.

“Stop it Gaelion! The Sword one has already saved Wyndia! Don’t continue to hold on to the hatred of him and Shield one for using your dragon Emperor’s core! Your family is safe! Justice has been given…so don’t let yourself fall! Both of you! Don’t let Gaelion’s legacy become this twisted Nickolas!” Blake cried out, drops of tears were coming out of her eyes as she endures Filo’s sudden bite to her shoulder.

Blake only ended up preforming a judo throw against Filo, slamming her hard against the wooded floor. Her eyes were slit like an enraged dragon but this was more a controlled fury rather than the wrathful violence you saw of Blake back at the Dragon Mountain. This was the desperate cries from the mad spear hero as you we standing on your last two legs. Raphatalia watched you trying to reach out to him while she was being protected from the curse flames by Melody. Seeing Nickolas like this made her slap Nickolas in the face, striking him hard as the redness in his eyes started to disappear.

“Wake up Master Nickolas! The battle is over. So don’t let yourself be consumed any further!” As she says this, Nickolas starts to recall her words. She was his sword and she would fight to protect him while following him wherever he goes. Even through fire and brimstone, she would never abandon him and will always support him.

He was slowly returning back to normal as his consciousness was returning. Although he didn’t say anything, the distraught look on his face made it apparent that he was aware of what he was doing. Being lectured by his rival, having the golly to be talked down by a child, and causing the person he cherished most to suffer. He was positively pathetic.

Suddenly coming from the ground, another soul eater emerges from the shadow of the first. It was preparing to attack you directly until Riku knocks it back with one of his sword strike.

"Now Nickolas!"

The Soul Eater was suddenly constricted by a series of shields link together by the chains. In just a brief second, the second Soul Eater was now trapped inside of a sphere made out the chained shields. It contracted against the beast while Riku picked you up and ran you to the others. The soul eater’s red eye manages to glare intensely at Nickolas as it tries to break out.

“Change Shield Attack!” Nickolas call forth a series of spikes from within the shield prison. The beast howls, being contained further as Nickolas begins to chant. His voice was being distorted once again. Yet the look in his eyes shows you that he was still in control.

At the same time, you were being treated by Melody as she begins to heal you of your injuries and use the Holy Water to purify the damages done to you by the Self-Curse. You were lucky that the spear protected you as best as it could. Otherwise, you would’ve ended up far worse than what Raphtalia had to deal with. Aden stood on the defense while Vivian also helped to speed up your recovery.

“「Iron Maiden 」”


From within the power of the Curse Shield, it manages to split the sky as a vortex begins to open. A giant metallic Iron Maiden device descends downwards, slowly opening up its hatched. The gravitational pull from the device drew in the Shield Prison as the Second Soul Eater was about to meet a worse fate than the first who was at death’s door. The device closes on the Soul Eater, making a rather painful and gruesome sound. It was exactly how you expected an Iron Maiden to activate as the boss was skewered.

The Iron maiden opens up, letting the remains of the beast fall directly on to the ground. You all had to take a moment to realize what had just happened. Not only were there two Soul Eaters but Nickolas managed to defeat one all by himself. The first one took the combination of you and him with the latter using his curse series to burn through the beast long enough for you to continuously damage it. Honestly you were still upset with the entire thing, but at least it was over now.

Nickolas quickly fell to the ground, his wraith shield reverting back to the default Shield. He was out of energy and could barely move his body. He looked more like he was in worse condition than you. But you probably assumed that was due to abusing the Curse Series. You didn’t fully use the Spear of Lust and it already had an effect on your mind, body and spirit. So you went and pick yourself up, putting the remains into the spear while giving Riku and Nickolas their share of the cut.

“Huh…what was Filo doing?” You hear from the back Filo suddenly coming out of it while being gripped by Blake. It took her a moment to realize that she had took a chunk out of Blake’s flesh as she swallows it.

“Stupid Filo! You don’t get to act like Blake’s flesh is your dinner! Now Spit out that Dragon Emperor Core!” Blake demanded, she was very upset about the entire thing.

Filo only sticks out her tongue, making the Black Dragon put her into a lock in the former’s human form. You probably should break up this childish scuffle between the two. Later though, right now you were looking to see if there were any more Soul Eaters around. Unfortunately, you would end up finding yet another one as it comes directly from the back of the ship. Seem like that Iron Maiden stunt managed to attract one from parts unknown directly on to the field.

“Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. But fool me three times, go fuck yourself!” You yelled at the third Soul Eater who was currently preparing to sink it’s fangs into you. However, Riku ended up attacking it directly by intercepting the attack. He found himself being pushed back as Lucien on the other hand was suddenly arriving on to the boat. You figured he came for back up as you was certainly going to need it.

Your eyes darted to look for where it came from. You eyes eventually lead you back onto the mast as you see what looks to be a young maiden. Cladded in a dark colored kimono with raven tinted hair and pale white skin. You almost consider her to be a ghost given her piercing red eyes gave you quite the shivering sensation.

She quickly jumps down from the lookout point on the mast. Gracefully landing on to the ground like a beautiful assassin, she pulls out her fan before pointing at you.

“Sorry for ruining your celebratory victory. But those Soul Eaters were just the opening act. The Skeleton Pirate Captain and the Kraken were the prologue. But the main event, nay the true climax of this theater play called the Third Wave has arrived. So give out your name, Spear and Shield Hero.”

The aura she gave off put every single strand of your hair straight. The sheer terror that befell upon you made you all the tenser. This pressure was similar to the sensation that you got off from Kyo and the zombie dragon when you approached its corpse. Just who are these mysterious people? You honestly wanted to ask her, but deep down you feel like she wasn’t the talkative type unlike Kyo.

Before you are able to react, you found youself stricken with several strikes from her fan. Each one felt like getting hit with a point black gunshot from a shotgun. Unfortunately, Glass had anticipated that by blocking her blindspot with her fan. Blake could only look in intense anger as she grits her dragon teeth.

Glass soon moves her hand to create a powerful gust of wind directly towards where Melody was heading. Melody could only focus on protecting what she was holding in her hand. From what you can tell, it appears to be a recovery item in her hand.

Luckily Aden was on the defensive as she would use her Chimera shield to block the massive whirlwind that came from Glass. She stood her ground, allowing Melody to make it towards your direction. As she stood against the wind attack, several flashes of lights appear as Aden found herself stricken in the gut. Each one hitting a vital area but it was not strong enough to completely break through her defenses. Aden manages to only cough up blood but still keep herself from falling from the assault.

“I must have miscalculated how many strikes I needed to throw to take you down in between that splendid defense you demonstrated. I thought I could get away with just eight instead of at least sixteen. You can easily gather your team was throwing themselves at her to help Melody have enough time to fully restore your body. In addition, you were starting to get a read on Glass’s skills. She has yet to use any official magic or innate ability. However, with the brute strength she demonstrated so far, it was safe to say that monster was a great understatement.

Nickolas on the other hand was also drinking from the same recovery bottle that Melody handed to him during your conversation. As for Riku, he was holding on his own as his team fights against the third Soul Eater with Lucien backing him up. His dodging skills and Lucien’s support meant that they were going to finish the previous boss in time. But for how long it would it take until they could assist you properly?

“Now then, based from what I seen from your fight with the soul eater and battling you directly. I think it’ll be best…if I remove all these servants from the battlefield. “As Glass says this, she got into stance with the orb on her fan starting to glow. It seems like she was preparing to actually use some sort magic or innate ability or quite possibly…a skill.

Filo moves quickly towards Glass, striking at high speeds thanks to 「High Quick」. Your eyes could somewhat follow the eight strikes that Filo made against Glass as she was charging up. A smile formed on her face, deflecting each of those strikes with little effort. Raphtalia on the other hand was using this chance to hit her from behind. Only to be met with Glass turning her head midway, blocking the sword strike with her fan as the weapon breaks under Glass’s pressure.

“Wonderful teamwork from the both of you. Unfortunately, it is only barely worth mentioning. “With just a smack from her fan, she blows away both Raphtalia and Filo across the battlefield. Nickolas was naturally upset at this. You were doing the same for your comrades. Just who exactly was this woman?!?!

There was nothing around her presence that wasn’t getting pelted by this hurricane of blades. The soul eater that Riku and Lucien were about to kill had found itself completely obliterated from the blades. The rest of your party however fortunate they are only found themselves being knocked off the boat. Even the anchor was hit with the attack, freeing the boat and setting the four heroes and Glass up into the skies again.

In retrospect it was hard to gauge what was scarier. The fact she wiped out and cleared the Four Cardinal Hero’s party from the battlefield. Or the fact that despite fighting both Filo and Raphtalia she still found time to meet the requirements for her skill. At least Melody made sure both you and Nick were fully healed before getting taken out of the fight.

“I believe that serves as a good prologue to this act. The one with the sword and the one with the bow have also proven themselves to be worthy. Had I not interfere, I can estimate just like Flaithrí and Nickolas, you would’ve eventually defeated the boss. So to repeat, my name is Glass and might who you two be? I know that attack wasn’t enough to knock you out.”

“Riku Kuromiya.” Riku glared, getting into position after pulling himself up from the ground.

I honestly don't know. I was thinking in putting her in a trap since she hasn't dodge any of the attacks. By using Javelin and Spear link combo to mark a place near her then once she blocks it, Nick would support everyone witht he shield aura and advance against her keeping her in her current location so we can use both of the heroes attacking her to make a opening. Of course after seeing our attack fail with the javelin we would change to Wolf spear to use the haste and pack tactics with everyine

That's sort of what my idea was with the surprise liust spear. She always blocks the random "surprise" attack from her blind spot and especially after a person does some misc attacks to create an opening from behind.
She'd made the mistake of repeating that attack pattern again which means we have the timing down for a counter spear skill or overpowering it with sheer unexpected attack power if lust sper is switching in during the attack. The problem is what to do afterwards if she doesn't get gutted like a fish and flee.

To say that things have certainly turned to the worst would be an understatement. Not only were you facing someone who was not only stronger than you but far more experienced. In addition, your party has been separated, and the only assistance you have left were Riku, Lucien and Nickolas. The closest one to you think you could get to work together is Riku. At the same time, he wasn’t exactly someone who really knew the values of teamwork. Riku still had a long way to go in order to make up for his inexperience.

Lucien on the other hand might not be as bad to team up with. The keyword being not as bad. You still feel like if it suits him, he would use you as a decoy to gauge Glass’s strength. Or to set up an advantage point for himself. If nothing else, he was a competent strategist. Ruthless and immoral might also be good words to describe him.

Lastly there’s the worst of the bunch, Nickolas Irving. Already he was the most distrusting person of the entire group. If he had a choice of fighting Glass by himself or working as a team with the four cardinal heroes. Chances are he would choose the former in a heartbeat. That’s how little he cared about the other heroes or anyone outside of his circle really.

He was a man that held a lot of grudge and resentment for the things that keep falling upon him. Including as he puts it “cleaning up the messes of the other heroes.” Just how conceited could he get? It wasn’t like you wanted those things to happen! You also didn’t ask for every other force trying to get in your way of making amends and working with the shield hero.

It couldn’t be helped. Whether or not the Four Heroes work together to defeat Glass was irrelevant. You were going to do the very best that you can. If nothing else, you were going to face your imminent demise like a real hero. That said, it didn’t mean you have to take it without a fight! As you think this, you decide to send one last message to Sigurd for him to carry.

“Sigurd, take the slave seal off Rifana. I'm sure everyone has started to notice that things are going bad. If I don’t make out of this…...tell everyone I’m sorry.” You managed to phone text these words to Sigurd while keeping your guard.

“Messaged received.” Sigurd replied back, already bracing himself for the worst case scenario.

You get the feeling that Glass was giving you the chance to say your final goodbyes. Just how much confidence did she have in her skills! Or perhaps this was just her way of respecting you. You could’ve ran away and left the other three heroes to their fate. Yet here you are, standing in front of her with spear in hand. If that wasn’t worthy of praise, then you don’t know what did.

Any reccomendations on books about celtic mythology? I wanna read more on Scathatch if I can but even getting more familiar with celtic myths would make RP related descisions less awkward since I know way more about mythologies other than Celtic ones.

Did we (in character) ever see what the world map looks like? I feel as if we should make sure that this world isn't also an alternate Earth like 4/5 planets we know about since if it was, it would open up us being able to find secret places of myth that weren't found by archeologists. Eg Scathatch's castle might have had the right directions, but the wrong planet.
If we survive this and don't get shoved back into another reset, the emergency hero meeting is going to be thorough. The Pope already sounds like he would declare us fake heroes and try to kill us so that Melomarc can start all over again.

When we resisted his mind control the fake spear showed up and once all of the heroes resisted him he started making barely concealed statements about true heroes.

We've got good enough reason for everyone to share info before returning so that we can lay out on livestream crystal ball services across the planet exactly what the Pope is doing if he starts doing an evil monologue.
Nick probably should have known better than to give his full name instead of noticing that we specifically didn't give his one. A bunch of cultures think knowing a name is a key to curses or magical domination over a person. Eg, Ra got his magical powers stolen by Isis after she figured out his name.
By volunteering his real one he ruined our control group to see if they knew name related magic. Luckily it doesn't seem to be the case or else Glass would have immediately fucked us up even easier than she is right now.

I looked up the hero's journey and it seems to be getting discredited over the years for various reasons like it's vagueness so that anything could fit into the slot and it being so utterly generic that it makes everything boring. We'd be too young to have actually studied it other than understanding why all modern stories sound the same.

With spear in hand, you got into position. You didn’t even have to say it. Your spear was recording this entire battle. That is if your body and mind haven’t already burned it to memory. If this world wasn’t going to teach you how to be the hero that you’re supposed to be. Then you were going to take the information from Glass. Accouter Spear was going to make sure of that.

“Let’s go! Rising Dragon’s Thrust!” You jump forward to Glass, generating a torrent of blue flames around your weapon. The flames started to twist and turn, shaping itself into that of a blue Chinese dragon. The Spear’s Skill Dragon’s Blaze was kicking itself into effect.

“King of Beast come forth! Savage Lion’s Slash!” Riku changes his sword to that of a savage fang style long sword. There was the lion’s eye at the center of the hilt. It glows rather intensely as it stares at Glass. The blade lit itself with a deep dark yellow shine. Signifying its attack, Riku took himself to lung himself forward with sword in hand.

“As I call upon the Shepard’s Winds. Galloping Goat Shot!” Lucien took aim as his bow had changed to that of two massive goat horns serving as the base for the wild bow. A glowing green light emerges from the weapon. His left eye opens, timing the shot directly to the rhythm of both you and Riku.

Glass found herself being surrounded by three sides. From the left, from the right, and from behind. This was a rather good pincer attack. One can only hope that if Glass were to jump upwards, Nickolas would use Air Strike Shield to pin her down. Or if she were to counter attack then he would defend you. As if such tactics would be on his mind. Even so, some part of you hoped that Nickolas would come to reason.

Glass on the other hand continues to smile despite her predicament. Surrounded from multiple ends, she was facing against the Chimera’s assault. Yet she didn’t bug an inch. Almost as she was welcoming the attack right in front of her as the three of you clash against her. The clash of your attacks ends up creating a rather massive explosion. And yet, for some reason you feel like it didn’t connect at all. Your suspicions were right as Glass was currently standing in the same spot.

It was faint, but in the brief moment before the attacks connect. Glass seemingly moved her fan to release a powerful wave of pressurized winds. Each one meeting each of your party’s attacks head on. The intent wasn’t to overpower you or deflect your attacks right back you. It was a different kind of move. A move meant to lessen the impact and shield her from harm. What was really insulting was how gracefully and swift she did it. Almost like she was merely swatting flies with her fan.

Hold on, has she always been standing like this? It begins to dawn upon you that every action and move she made. She never once left where she first landed upon. All this time she was countering, reflecting and attacking without leaving that spot. Almost like she didn’t acknowledge any of you to be worthy of actually engaging. Yet those eyes of hers. Those cold, crimson eyes continue to look at Nickolas. She didn’t need to say anything to get her message across. Stop putting him above the rest of you!

“Would you like to try again? Or should I send you away so I can fight your master next?” There it was again! Why does she care about Nickolas over any of you! You were the one who defeated Nickolas. So why wasn’t she acknowledging your skills. You were going to show her. You’re going to make her regret looking down on you and only giving Nickolas attention.

“Spear Roulette!”

“Air Strike Javelin!” You quickly manifest a large spear from your hand. You gripped it rather tightly as you take aim. Soon you went to throw it with all the strength you have. Glass once again chose to dodge, remaining in her spot as her body turns in the necessary direction to avoid the attack. You had figure that’s what she would do so you secretly marked the spear with Spear Link. By doing this you settled up a point to teleport to where your spear was going with Portal Spear. Luckily the first spear you got was Lightning Spear. So even if she dodge, the current of electricity would surely get her.

“I got you now!” You screamed.

“Are you sure about that?” Glass surprises you yet again by ducking down from your sudden thrust. You were sure you had the element of surprise and your timing was perfect.

So why…...why was she still able to dodge! As you think this constantly, you spear tries to shoot a current of electricity. A move that was ultimately futile. Glass responds to your attack with one of her own. A simple flick of her fan and she calls forth a terrifying gust of wind. The gust of wind engulfs you as it knocks you upwards as you start to spin rapidly. Blades of wind strike at you from multiple points, forcing you to scream in agony and in frustration.

Ever the opportunist, Luicen took the next shot by using you as a distraction. He just got finished charging up a rather powerful arrow. “Saint’s Arrow Shot” He mutters, releasing a massively powerful cross shape arrow against Glass. It generates a powerful torrent of energy as it travels to Glass. However, Glass would drop her fan for just a second to embrace the attack.

“Naughty boy. You should wait your turn.” Glass manages to catch the arrow shot by Luicen with just her fingers. She looks at it for a brief second before throwing it at Lucien. Lucien went to counter the shot with his bow, but the arrow moved at speeds far greater than he could properly match currently. So Lucien was met with a grim reminder of the gap as his arrow explodes in his face.

“One down-“Before Glass could finish, Riku appears right against the ship’s mass. He wasn’t going to take being called a servant lying down. He jumps forward to try and take advantage as his sword glows with a deep shade of crimson. “Crimson Sword” He shouts, clashing against Glass as she instructively blocks her blindspot yet again.

“Haven’t you learn that any move you make will have the same result.” Glass lectures Riku as she counters his strike against her blindspot.

“Actually, I was hoping you would do that!” Riku smiled. He saw that you had broken out of the twister with your second spear from Spear Roulette – Wolf Spear! Pact Tactics was boosting both you and Riku’s attributes. So you were going to take advantage of her opening after blocking the attack.

“Spear Shot!” The thrust of your spear expands greatly as it twists against the air. With haste you almost look like you were moving faster than the eye can see. Surely at this range she would be unable to best you now. That is until you see Glass throwing her fan against you. Using it to slow down the strike if ever so slightly. She follows up on this by grabbing your spear by the pole, adjusting her body to redirect the attack against…Riku?!?!

It was holding itself on to dear life, but it didn’t change the fact that you could compare the force to that of a high powered bomb going off.

“I stand corrected, that’s two down.” Glass smiled, letting go of your spear and letting you jump back. Your eyes look to Nickolas who for some reason look like he was disinterested.

How dare he not take part in this! It was almost as if he was watching this with satisfaction. Knowing that the other heroes were being sacrificed in front of him. He didn’t even lift a singer to help, almost like you just weren’t worth the effort. You weren’t sure if your eyes were playing tricks on you. Yet it looks like Raphtalia and Filo were right behind him. How exactly did they manage to get back on the ship? Did Raphtalia use some sort of skill to hide the two of them with?!?! This only furthers your aggravation as you turn back to Glass.

“Chaos Spear!” You lunged at her with Haste, throwing countless spear thrust against her. Once again you aimed to take advantage of her blindspot to force her to block. And much to your expectation Glass ends up blocking through all of them with her fan.

“Like I told your dragon, power is meaningless if your enemy can read the flow. To either counter or dodge, you should never give the enemy these options.” Glass ends ups stopping your tempo and knocking your spear away. She prepares for her next attack as you were open.

“Counter Spea- “You attempt to shout these words, but you found yourself enduring a barrage of blows against your chest from the fan. Luckily counter spear went off despite the interruption. From around your chest, you would see the skill quickly reflecting the attack right back at Glass. There was no way for her to redirect or block it now.

Instead Glass ends up blowing your expectations yet again. She just hits the reflected blasts with her fan. Matching each of them with her own strikes despite the sheer number. She soon overpowered it. She overpowered your doubled up attack. Either she was holding back with her blows when she first attacked you. Or this was just another example of the gap between the two of you. It matters not as your efforts were yet again wasted.

Especially to Nickolas of all people, you defeated him. You were the Alpha male, not Nickolas! And you were going to make Glass see you as such by taking her! At this point you didn’t care! You didn’t care about anything but that woman in front of you. You marked her. Glass was going to be your woman. The perfect incarnation of beauty and power. And you will prove to everyone that you were better than Nickolas the Lolicon!

Aden has tanked Glass more than Nick has. If he's not laughing, he's still not participating in the fight at all. Not surprising. Naofumi tends to be guilty of everything that everyone else gets fucked over for in the story. It very rarely acknowledges his faults as actually being faults or takes them as seriously as when they're present in others even if everyone in his own village considers him to be fairly evil in a manner of fact sort of way.

Maybe pride/overambition since we never stopped to ask Nick for help and swallowed our pride, but at the same time we still had a sliver of hope that he'd actually work WITH us.

If it's being filtered down to Riku then the sword's vices are probably Tristitia (sorrow/despair/despondency) and Avaritia (avarice/greed). Swords are usually associated with kings, so it might be a once greedy King that views the waves problems as it having lost it's Kingdom, and is despondent at what is currently the state of the inevitable due to all the sabotage of the heroes by the residents of this world as seen by it for thousands of years.

I hope that if Nick manages to deflect/counter our attack once Glass dodges it. That the force is strong enough to push her toward us and penetrate us to making the two of us be pinned and pierced by our spear. Then we take advantage of that and use spear size to decrease our spear followed by explosion. Just for the joke of saying that we penetrate her with our spear and blowed our load inside her(Glass).

The self-burning curse you underwent when fighting against the soul eater didn’t even phase Glass. She ends up commenting on how cold his black flames were. You believe Blake’s would be much hotter if she gave into those devilish flames. Next, she closes her fan to perform a cross based laser shot which managed to pierce through Nickolas’s defenses like they were nothing. Even the option of taking was irrelevant to the calamity that was Glass.

You chose not to interject just yet. You wanted Nickolas to experience the same thing that you and the other heroes went through. If he was going to refuse to work together as a team. Then he was going to suffer the consequences for his disinterest and arrogance. Even the Iron maiden combo, the same attack that you thought was overpowered was useless against Glass. From Shield prison onto Bee Needle Shield and finally Iron Maiden. This three step combo did nothing to even graze Glass as she breaks through it rather easily.

“How utterly disappointing. Guess I put too much fait- “Glass found herself interrupted by a sudden spear to the chest. Those cold crimson eyes started to show a bit of emotion from the spectacle. She slowly turns to see that she was marked by the Spear Link combo she deflected earlier. This was actually the only time you successfully manage to hit her.

“Shooting Star Spear.” You muttered, sprouting hundreds of spears into Glass. Naturally Glass didn’t flinch from the attack, not even dignifying it as it exposes her bare chest. She wore a black Jakubi underneath her kimono, but without the padding her full figure was visible for the world to see. This only further intensifies your spear of lust as it vibrates ominously.

The more I think about it, the better an idea Yandere Glass sounds like. OG spear hero had a yandere problem. Yandere's have a long and storied history in heroic tales. Even the super secret final boss is named after an ancient yandere in this story.

Glass on the other hand turns her attention back to you. Fans in hands as a terrifying aura emerges from within. It resonated with your own murderous aura amplified by the spear of Lust. It was the class of two opposing forces as each of you stare each other down. The two of you begin to walk towards one another. The clock was ticking down as this was the final showdown.

“「Temptation」&「Resentment」” You muttered. Two basic skills from the Spear of Lust and Envy combo. It seems that even though Spear Fusion was over. The curse series was mimicking your previous skill in some fashion. You paid no mind to this as the only thing you were focused on was ripping Glass part and sharing in the experience of getting ripped apart. Two sides of the same coin.

The two of you begin your attacks towards one another. Spear vs Fan, an odd yet still satisfying clash. The cursed spear’s power was sacrificing defense for more power and speed. Allowing you to momentarily keep up with the once invincible Glass. Glass meanwhile felt something strange oozing from your body as she was fighting against it. Perhaps this act of defiance is what is slowly making it possible for you to exchange blows with her.

In hindsight, perhaps it was good that there was nobody else around. You didn’t want anyone to interfere with your fight. Both glowing as she appears behind what appears to be a red moon.

This almost exactly like the vision you once had several weeks ago. Of course you didn’t notice at this moment. You were far too taken in by the two curse spears to really think about anything else. You wanted your fight and you were getting it. The ultimate form of ecstasy was in front of you. And you weren’t going to let anyone take it away from you. So you jump forward while Glass jump downwards. The two of you thrust your attacks forward, setting off another flash of crimson light.

That light was becoming more and more apparent each time you swing your weapons against one another. The less health you have, the stronger you became. Almost like you were trading in your life for more power. The bloodlust among others was awakening more. Yet at the same time, it almost felt like you were draining Glass of her strength. Empowering it into yourself to make yourself stronger. Even the Shield of Wraith was affected by this as portions of its power flows into you.

“You dance quite beautifully for one who is so close to the end of your life.” Glass remarks, getting ready to set up for her signature attack.

“I’m not dead yet love~ That said, I’m going to make you submit to me. Submit to me and become my woman so we can dance forever in each other’s sweet embrace~” It was hard to say if this was the spear’s influence or this fight was awakening your Irish blood to the idea of finally meeting a worthy adversary.

Regardless, both of you charge forward with your respective attacks. That is until a series of shields start to wrap against the both of you. Effectively pushing you against Glass, you quickly found yourself trapped with the ghostly raven. The shield wouldn’t hold up for long as one attack was enough to break it from the two of you. However, you did the unthinkable and catch her off guard by stealing a kiss from her lips. Glass was caught off surprised as you use this chance to grip tightly against her in a bear hug.

“W-What is the meaning of this?”

“…Blood for Blood. I want us to continue our fight. You will be ravaged by me. Just like how I will be ravaged by you. So, let us enjoy our time together. In this iron maiden…made for two~”

Exploding violently based entirely on the influence of the spear for added effect and metaphor.

Normally Iron Maiden on itself wouldn’t nearly have the power to even graze Glass much less hurt her. However, thanks to your sacrifice, the power of three curse effects manages to actually make up the difference. Although, can one really call your “sacrifice” as anything more than just a twisted perversion of lust for Glass and envy against Nickolas.

You were down to a slimmer of health. To be honest, that stunt should’ve cost your life. But “jackpot spear” still lingers. So second chance managed to worked in your favor as Glass took most of the full force of the attack combo. Speaking of Glass, she was brought to her knees over the sudden power. Her crimson eyes started to glare.

“…I suppose that’s my fault for taking you too lightly. Very well, I’ll indulge in your twisted fantasy. I’ll humiliate you just as you humiliated me just now. So feel honored…...for you have become my prey and no one else’s” Seem like even Glass was starting to feel the effects of the spear of lust. Almost switching to a more…yandere like personality as her power rises dramatically. What a woman!

You prepare yourself for the fight as Glass tears off her sleeves and cuts her kimono dress. She looked more like Rifana in her kunoichi like dress. The blood drips on her Kimono and yet she was acting like it was just a minor convenience. She got herself ready into a stance as you did so yourself. The next attack was going to decide it all. So you put all of your remaining emotions and strength into the weapon.

“「Drăculea Thrust」”

“「Rupture Stance Rundo ・Tortoise Shell Cracker」”

The two of you simultaneously thrusted against one another. Both attacks pierce against the other’s chest, missing the vitals. Yet it didn’t stop the massive damage you inflicted upon one another. On Glass’s end her back expelled a powerful explosion as a series of additional spears formed. While you suffered a bone shattering jolt from your entire body as your entire defense was shattered. This especially hurts considering the Spear of lust traded defense for pure offense.

Even with the Spear’s powers, the gap was still too strong to overcome completely. She walks towards you, half-dead and lying in a pool of your own blood. Her fan moves into a killing stance as the purple energy sword intensifies.

Farewell, Flaithrí Ó Ruairc.” As Glass aimed to put an end to your life before you die of bloodloss, Rifana shows up out of nowhere to grab you. She was bracing herself for the attack while trying to carry you away. She knew the risk but couldn’t just let you get killed like that.

However, luck would be on her side as Nickolas uses shield Air Strike Shield to protect the both of you from harm. This allowed Rifana the chance to escape as she pulls away from the battlefield. You soon blackout from the pain and the experience. As for Nickolas, he was riding Filo with Raphtalia as they run away in another direction. Leaving Glass alone as she snaps out of the yandere mode the spear of lust made her develop,

“Time’s up. How disappointing….” With that she starts to walk towards what appears a rip between dimensions. To where exactly no one could be sure. Either way, the third wave was over. Leaving you to be treated elsewhere. It would feel like an eternity for you as your senses were gone.

You were in a constant state of emptiness. The opposite to the euphoria you felt as you fought Glass. It was much stronger than waking up from the last time you were consumed by the spear of Lust. As you try to look around, a voice starts to ring into your ear. The voice was inaudible at first, but over time it starts to become more and more clear.

“Wake up…...Wake up…...Wake up already! Foolish hero.” A mysterious voice calls to you while you are currently in pitch black darkness.

I want to say the lust spear isn't picky, but...Vivian is just old enough to not fall under lolicon and the spear didn't try to give us any fantasies about Blake this go round. Add that together with my theory about the vices actually being the ones belonging to the weapon spirits and it looks like a no.

I'm starting to wonder if the shield is actually a lolicon and summons closet lolicons. I may not be an expert psychologist, but Naofumi/Nick being unable to see Raph as an adult and eventually the spear Seeing all women as actual talking pigs does not remotely sound like any sort of legitimate mental condition. Her purple eyes glance down upon you, moving her hand from the chopping motion she did previously. Given how you are currently bandaged up and in her care, it seems like she must have been the to patch you up.

“You don’t get to make jokes. “The mysterious woman looks down at you, walking over to one of the alter poles. You seem to be in some sort of ruined civilization from long ago. The feather bed you were currently lying on really offsets the fact you would normally be sleeping on gravel.

I don’t need to also make sure the Four Cardinal Heroes nearly kill themselves from overage of the curse series.” The mysterious woman sighs, folding her arms while keeping her back turned to you.

The Carriage Hero.” Fitoria explained, you on the other hand was in a state of shock. This was just something that didn't make a lick of sense to you. You really wish you had one of the heroes's archives just to see what else you didn't know.

“Judging from the shock on your face…you don’t know what a vassal hero is right? I’m slowly getting more and more frustrated over how Melromarc have been handling things. Maybe I should’ve listen to my judgment and not given Mirellia a chance to fix the blunders of her kingdom. I hate getting involved with human politics and their bickering. Yet…I feel like if I destroy the kingdom, the world will be better off for it in the long run.” Fitoria sighs, turning towards you at long last.

That's a long story. It wouldn't surprise me if i could talk my head off all night about how badly they're handling the situation. You really want to hear what i've figured out piece by piece right now? From what Queenie's shadow says the other nations aren't much better so even if you wiped Melomarc off the map you'd be busy for years.

The only thing they really told us at the start is that we had weapons and a status screen. Any attempt to learn anything more was met with claims of religious dogma about how the heroes automatically know everything about this world. Since the book we all got summoned through took us in after we barely passed the prologue they probably botched the summoning somewhere if that's where the knowledge they were talking about came from. The message that we were to shut up was pretty clear and none of us were stupid enough to try anything at lv 1 in an unknown world.
I almost immediately found a little girl half dead with a slave crest in their dungeons. Andros and Melody were also there if you've seen them. Andros was in there because he stayed loyal to the queen when that idiot King did his coup.
They immediately started discriminating against Nick for besmirching the honour of the heroes with his behavior even though I was clearly more of a troublemaking after actually having grabbed people from the dungeon.
The second day was a more official team gathering ceremony where the older princess pretended to feel sorry for him having nobody joining his team and went to him.
By the next morning everything he had was missing and she had framed him for attempting to rape her. If this wasn't bad enough I had actually seen her leaving the room when she was supposedly fleeing it in terror at his actions yet I acted as if I didn't know that. I may be a hothead sometimes but that's what I suspect was the first time they used mind control to manipulate us.
Elaine and Vivian had to teach me as much as they can about this world since everyone else refused as I mentioned before.
Mynne/Malty/whatever sent me to get the bio seed which was an obvious trap. For something deep within ancient ruins and highly guarded she sure knew a bunch of information about what it was. I was planing on absorning the seed so that she couldn't go with her plan but I was knocked out for a week from the boss fight and she threatened/blackmailed the party into handing it to her. Turns out it was a fast growing plant monster that took over the whole town.
Then when the meeting for planing the first wave happened my mind suddenly changed opinions to whatever the pope wanted which I suspect was the second case of mind control.
After that I got some protection from those effects and soon after a fake spear hero was going around to defame my name.

Then there's the stuff with Galleon where a village tricked Riku into killing the dragon protecting the mountain out of greed.

We should probably mention that one of the heroes the bow hero is playing politics instead of leveling up. If she wants to complaing with anyone she should be talking to him. “It’s a long story. That said, can you at least activate my spearphone?” You asked nicely, already putting together that Fitoria probably has a hand for why the Spear was inactive. She looks at you before tabbing her finger against the spear. You see the monotone color of the spear fading, returning to its natural state. She slowly hands it to you.

“Don’t try anything funny. I want the whole truth and everything you know. Depending on what I learn will decide what I’ll do next on the Four Cardinal Heroes issue. “As Fitoria says this, you strongly get the feeling that she was serious. The coldness in her tone was proof enough.

You begin to take a deep breath and then another. It was to collect your thoughts accordingly. You have so much to tell Fitoria about what you been experiencing. So you pat the seat for her to sit next to you. Fitoria does so, keeping her distance but was still within earing range. First you went on to the beginning of how you ended up to the world. Everything you experience, everything you learned, everything you saw, and everything you were told was spilling out of your mouth. You didn’t gloss over the small details despite trying to summarize the events for Fitoria. It was better to be frank with the Filolial Queen rather than try to keep information away from her.

After you finished explaining the events in order you then start to talk about the people. You mention every single deed worth mentioning about the good and the bad. There was a lot of bad things to mention but even worse people to document. It was safe to assume that this was one hell of an Irish rant you gave to Fitoria. From the kingdom and its nobles, to the corrupt villagers and even among the four heroes themselves, you brought everything out into the light. You tried to give an unbiased opinion along with a few exceptions like Myne. When it came to Nickolas, you really struggled with that. Especially when you started to point out his flaws and shortcomings despite the world having it out for him.

You didn’t leave yourself out of this. It didn’t matter what your intent was or how many people tried to interfere, the results were still out in the opening. That and you feel like if you try and paint yourself in the right, it’d only make Fitoria angrier. In fact, you swear as you continue to debrief Fitoria, her facial expression was getting more and more angry by the second. The eerie quietness of the situation only made it worse as the tension rose. You didn’t feel like this since Glass. However, comparing Glass to Fitoria was like comparing the earth to the heavens themselves. She was keeping her cool sure, but this kind of tranquility was clearly backed up by the burning fury inside of herself.

Eventually you end up finishing the tale of everything you knew. You even went as far as to use the Spearphone to show your progress to her. It also covered as much as you could gather about the other Four Cardinal Heroes. Safe to say that this didn’t really sit well with Fitoria. Judging from her rising coldness, she was getting more and more agitated. Only when the data was received and there was nothing else to show did she finally get up from the fluffy bed.

“Excuse me for a moment.” With that she disappears from your sight. You were caught off guard by that. At the very least, you were allowed to stool over the possibilities of what’s to happen. You just given the queen of Filolial every justification to hate humans if she didn’t already have.

You swear you hear incoherent bird screams far off in the distance. At first you weren’t sure if that was just your mind playing tricks with you. However, that notion quickly went away as a series of powerful shockwaves causes the ground to erupt violently. As you force yourself out the bed, you quickly made your way to a window. From that window you would see a humongous beam of golden light shoot up into the air. On a scale of one to ten, you can gather that Fitoria completely unmeasurable to how frustrated and upset she was. It was probably for the best not to go to her. Especially when you’re more likely to be accidently killed just from the backlash.

Eventually the constant tremors and beams of light finally came to an abrupt stop. It seems like they would never go out considering she been doing it for over an hour straight. The eerie silence that came after that only made things worse. You weren’t sure exactly what Fitoria was going to do. So you kept your guard up while thinking of all the possibilities.

“Sorry about that...…. I needed to clear my head.” Fitoria shows up right behind you, once again seemingly getting passed your guard. Her emotionless expression was struggling to hold back her anger. It was almost like you were in front of mother who was seriously about to discipline her rotten children.

“From what I understand based on what you told me, you pretty much summed up my worst fears times a thousand. You were also missing some stuff. At first I had considered the possibility of you were lying to me to save yourself. If that was the case, I’d probably be even angrier than I am right now. A Filolial Queen or King is able to shapeshift their bodies. Not only we can take human form, but we are also able to blend with regular filolials. It is really so easy for me to walk from kingdom to kingdom without drawing any noteworthy attention. So gathering information is child’s play. I’m also well aware of the promise Mirellia made to me during the meeting of the world’s leaders. Otherwise I’d honestly doubt just having her head would make up for the sheer level of incompetence the world has to deal with. “

It would be the most logical way to deal with the fact that two of the four heroes have unlocked curse series to the point of severe abuse. I can’t protect them AND fight the waves by myself. And then there’s the possibility of invaders from another world using this as a chance to assassinate the four heroes. Just when I can’t think things can’t get any worse, twenty more additions to the equation shows up to muddle things further.” Fitoria ranted, biting her fingernail as she starts to crouch and lean against her knees.

“I really should destroy Melromarc for this. But as you mention, the other countries will use this as a chance for a power struggle and practically doom us to the waves. Why must you humans and demi-humans and even beastmen be so thick-headed and conceited to your own self-interests” She turns her head to you. She wasn’t really expecting an answer from you. Especially one capable of magically explaining to her why sentient beings like this have to be so stupid. Still, she wanted something to lash out against.

“Forget it. Talking about politics is making me lose focus and only succeeds in making me angrier than I should be. I’ll fill you in on everything I know in time. But we’ll have to address the elephant in the room. You’re currently far too weak to fight these invaders. And that man will certainly kill you if the two of you ever cross paths as you are now. The best course of action is to unite the four heroes and probably mend the insufficiency that each of you carry. Mirellia will handle the issues with the kingdom. Till then, I rather not give you or any of the heroes back to that place until every issue is address. That said, there’s dealing with your curse series.” Fitoria glances at your spear, focusing intensely at the ominous presence that lingers from within the weapon.

Fitoria stares intently at you upon criticizing her logic. Sure there may have been many evil dragons back in the day. And sure the dragon emperor of the past could’ve been a monster. Thus, giving Fitoria the moral high ground to be judgmental and cautious. Yet that didn’t excuse the distrust and judgmental viewpoints she had. And I may end up just like you and slowly lose reason to have faith and love for humans. But, I won’t ever give up and choose to isolate myself to protect myself. This is another change from the source material of both the LN and WN. The light novel dives into the reason why Fitoria and her species hates dragon is because of lol genetics as they were rewritten by the mad scientist aka Rat's ancestor horn. Her family just hates them. So I decided to change that based on the events of the past. A literal war between monsters. There's more to it as I'll reveal in time, but I'm striving to give a better reason for why Fitoria is against those who are connected to the dragon emperor rather than hating all dragons.

Another change is Tact/Takt's involvement in the story. He originally collected the seven weapons just for more power. Yet never really did anything. So as the most iconic Reincarnator, I want to give him an actual reason why he's hunting the other heroes. The full reason will be explained in time, but one of his reasons is Fitoria herself.
