/qst/ - Quests

After, an all things considered, pleasant exchange during the morning you had some breakfast consisting mainly of fruits you've scavenged and headed back towards civilization.
The girls, deciding they'd rather not deal with this hangover fell asleep while hugging each other and so it fell to you to take them back.

Holding them in your hands you flew over most of the country before arriving back at the familiar sight of your old flat.
Vanishing you try to move as gently and as fast as possible to the door before fiddling around with it for about ten minutes.
Turns out it's rather difficult to open a lock without any arms.

Luckily the door opens seemingly on its own and on the other side you see a familiar face.
Sam sizes you up after hearing your pathetic attempts at entering and lets out a little chuckle.
"That's so typical. You got two girls spooning, neither with you."

"Just shut up and let me in!"

"Okay okay, no need to get violent."

Turning sideways you carefully maneuver inside so you don't bump Cauliflas or Kales head into anything and help them onto the couch where Kale continues to be the big spoon and holds her sister close.
So cute.

"You're up unusually early."
You comment as you slowly tear yourself away from the scene.

"Yeah well... Turns out once I don't have to stay up all night to study I can actually get rested pretty easily."

"How were the kids?"

"Oh they got knocked out pretty early. I let them use your bed."

"You didn't let them play anything... too inappropriate I hope."

"Nah. Played Tekken almost the entire night.
I saw them and decided to join."
Sam then cracks his knuckles.
"They tried so hard to beat me it was amusing!"

"You... could've let them win you know."

"Nah. Gotta show them a real mans world!
But to give credit where it's due they almost made me get serious!
Quick learners. Good sports too. Where did you get three kids anyway?"

"I adop- err... saved! Two of them from the borg.
The little one, Lyn is my err... daughter."
Sam looks up from his morning cup of quadruple espresso and raises an eyebrow at you.
"Look it's not what it looks like! I mind melded with their hivemind and they... used that plus some of my DNA to make her."

"You knocked up a damn hivemind..."
*siiiiip*
"Nice!"

"It's odd... I know. But I've grown attached to them.
They are good kids."

"Uh-huh.
So uh... When are you planning on leaving?"

"Why? Are we in the way?
Don't tell me! You got someone coming over? Who's the unlucky girl?"

"Very funny Mr Kissless-Virgin.
At least I lost my card a while ago."

"Yeah. To a hooker."

"Yes. And?
Anyway... that's not why I'm asking."

"Then?"

"Could you errr...
Could I come along? Kinda interested in Spess."

You look over at him and start questioning his judgment.
"You sure about that?
I mean I'm not against the idea buuut...
Piss off the wrong guy there and you'll likely be a stain on the floor soon after."

"Yeah yeah-"

"No. I'm serious. Do not under ANY circumstances pick a fight with anyone.
And ESPECIALLY not the boss man itself! You'd do well if you remembered that."

"Purple cat-person, right?"
You nod.
"Gotcha."

After making sure to explain things to Sam you waited for everybody to wake up.
Meanwhile you had a little chat with your old friend.

"So... it won't be an issue if you just disappear for a while?"

"Nah. Don't got a job yet. And don't want to either.
I just became a free man. I want to enjoy it a bit first."

"Cool."
You turn your attention back to the TV just as the news pop on. In it you see a familiar figure who seems to have made his way back to Earth.
"Shit... Cabba."

"You know him?"

"Yeah. Worked together a few times.
Since when did he become a public figure like that?"

"The media got wind of the President regularly meeting with xenos.
They had no choice but to show him to the world.
Strange... You'd think after Frost people would have an issue with aliens..."

"Probably because he looks relatively human."

"Relatively?
If I didn't know they are giant monkeys I wouldn't believe they are aliens."

"Trust me after a while you start noticing the differences.
What's annoying is that they don't. Because us puny humans don't wander the stars yet."

"Makes sense."

Just as you are done with that you hear the door to your old room opening and three sleepy children walk out, rubbing their eyes.
"Good morning!"
You greet them.

"Mornin'...
YAAAAWN!"

"What's wrong? Not sleeping well?"

"We stayed up with... that person."
Sam grins.
"It was exhausting."

"Yeah he does have that effect.
Come, sit down! I'll make you some hot cocoa."

After serving the kids some hot drinks the girls wake up as well, having smelled the sugary goodness.
And once everybody had their fills you had them all get prepped for the travel.
The only question was... how?

It could be easy to give Cabba a call but... fuck that guy.
Vados might be available but much like with the Supreme Kai you don't want to impose much on them.
So you decide to try something potentially futile and dumb.

Extending your hands and throwing out the devils horns you start making circular motions with your hand in an attempt to create a portal leading to Champas.
But try as you might you can't do it, the distance is simply too great.
Sam doesn't know what to make of this.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm concentrating so shut up!
But it's not working."

"Why not try going for your planet?"
Caulifla asks you.

"His wha-"

That... is not a bad idea actually.
Changing destinations slightly you attempt to lock onto the tiny planet which is supposed to be "yours" and lo and behold the portal opens.
"Huh... it worked."

Motioning to the wormhole you ask everybody to pass on through.
They all oblige, except Sam who is VERY reluctant.
"Go on."

"I don't know man! This is not a Transporter, right?
It doesn't rip me to atoms, right?"

"No. It's a fold in space with a hole punctured through.
I use it often so come on!"
With a pat on the back you shove him through and as he passes over the event horizon he screams incoherently.

Stepping through you spot your friend kneeling on the ground, covering his head and screaming incoherently much to the confusion of everyone present.
Looking around you see the guys from Universe 9 gathering around to look at the man making a ruckus.
"Oh hey guys! I see you moved in already!"

"Indeed."
Hyssop answers.
"Lady Vados was kind enough to inform us."

Hearing new voices Sam finally looks up and spots the truly alien looking guys.
Standing up he nervously cleans himself before throwing himself before Hop and kneeling down in front of her.
"Oh almighty god! I bow before your greatness!
Please don't smite your humble servant!"

While Hop does NOT know how to handle this, the others are having quite a great time as they giggle quietly.
Looks like Sam didn't get it after all.

You try your best to suppress your laughter, you really do. But this is just too much.
With your barely contained laughter turning into a full on mad cackle you approach the poor fool and tap him on the shoulder.

"You can worship her all you like. I won't judge.
But that's the wrong cat."

He looks up in confusion.
"Wha-"

"And grovel less next time. It makes us look bad.
Just a bow will suffice."

Not sure how to react to that Sam just stares at you in dumb confusion while Sorrel begins to tease her friend.
"Hop got an admirer~!"

"Grrrrrr! Shut up!"

"So that's not the... purple cat person?"

"No. And just to be clear you're looking for a fat catman.
Not a catgirl."

"Oh..."
He looks up at Hop and nervously wiggles his fingers at her as he's unable to wave properly from the embarrassment.
"H-hey! I'm uh..."

"He's Sam.
An Earthling like me."

The crowd starts to whistle and let out many impressed sounding "Oooooh"s.
You are quick to correct them.
"No, he's not as buff as I am.
In fact he's the weakest person on this planet right now."

"Aaaaah...."

"So please be nice with him. He's fragile."
Then you turn over to Sam.
"And Sam... These are Hyssop, Hop and Sorrel. Those behind are Hyssops wife and son.
As you can see they are aliens."
You stop there. He doesn't need that extra information about them being from another universe.
It'll be hard enough to process as is.

"H-Hey! It's really nice to meet'cha!"

"Greetings. Make sure you feel at home.
Any friend of Eric is a friend of ours."
Hyssop shakes his hand.

"Wow!
I'm making first contact with an alien!"

*ahem*
You cough.

"S-Sorry. Second contact!
But I'm glad my dumb friend made a good first impression!"

"We are deeply indebted to him.
He saved us from certain doom."

"What?"

As the big ice man continues to exchange pleasantries with the little human Sorrel and Hop approach you.
"Hey hey! We got you a present!"
The excited bunny starts dragging you away.
"Come come!"
>>
They lead you a bit away from the crowd and you get to see the planet for yourself.
It is lush and green, much like Champas own but with actual green plants as opposed to the ones with that blueish hue.
Just from a quick look it's obvious that it's a very fertile land. Thanks Vados.

But that's not the gift, oh no.
You spot something that stands out and it becomes immediately obvious what they did.
"TA-DA!
We built you a house!"
Sorrel says with pride.

And what a house it is.
A rather sizable log house which could make any mountain man shed manly tears of joy just by looking at it.
Stepping inside you see that the place has been fully fitted with everything necessary. A fully functional bathroom and a kitchen, bedrooms both for you and the Tuffles, the latter one equipped with bunkbeds and an impressive living room.
And to top it all off a fresh wood smell permeated the entire thing.

"This is... incredible!"

"You better appreciate it."
Hop responds.
"I chipped a nail cutting the logs."

Walking inside you try to take it all in when you suddenly feel something.
A new, unknown presence can be felt approaching your planet slowly.
"Do... you guys expect any visitors?"

"No!"

Rushing out you look up at the sky to spot a small dot making its way to you.
Once close enough the figure becomes visible but their appearance is obscured by some sort of a robe.
They land in front of you as a crowd gathers around you and you get to see that... they are actually rather tiny.
They barely even reach up to your kneecaps.

They raise a hand and speak in a voice that used to be feminine but clearly the years have taken a toll on her vocal cords.
"Please... lower your hands... I come in peace!"

You consider accepting the request of this old lady but something bugs you about her and her sudden appearance.
"Okay, obviously this is important for you if your willing to land next to The God Of Destruction's planet, but why my and not him?
And just how did you get here for that matter? I was under the impression this place isn't the most accessible."

"Worry not... I will explain everything and it'll all make sense soon enough.
But for now... let's just say that... it's not wise to ask anything from a destroyer which isn't... destroying things."
She then pulls her cowl back to reveal a sort of fish person.

Quite unlike the guy from Universe 9 who looked like the creature from the black lagoon and more like an actual cross between a fish and a person but heavily leaning towards fish.
And your guess was correct as even through her alien physiology her age is showing.
Her skin though covered in scales is saggy and her soft underside is adorned by layers upon layers of wrinkles.
Her eyes are sunken and carry large bags under them.

As her webbed hands are lowered you see them shake violently.
"I... come from Planet Kanassa... and my planet is in grave danger...
I've come... to request your aid... mighty warrior."

She looks out of breath and heaving greatly, must be another effect of her advanced age.
And at least that does make some sense. You wouldn't ask Champa with something like that either.

This whole thing seems... suspicious to you.
"Okay I kinda get why you need me now.
Still doesn't explain how you knew about me, me being here or my affiliation with Champa!"

"Like I said... It'll all make sense soon.
My people bear a great gift. And with it we knew about our incoming doom... and our salvation."
She takes a deep breath.
"You see, us Kanassans we... we... WE CAN SEE DA FUUUUTURE!"
*ahem*
"Sorry... Don't know where that came from."

Ah. Now you understand... even less.

"We foresaw the destruction of our planet. But also who could... save it. You.
I saw where I'd find you in the future, how I could get to you and how to avoid the detection of the Gods.
For it's predetermined that I'd seek you out."

"Okay. Let's say I believe that.
Doesn't that mean I don't really have a choice in the matter?
You know what I'll say anyway."

"It doesn't work like that...
Those privy to the future are often... liable to altering it.
Or worse yet, bring it to fruition when they want nothing more than to avoid it."

You nod. That does seem to fit with what you've seen in movies. And so far the universe seems to have more in common with fiction rather than logic and reason.
"Okay... Who are we talking about? Some big tyrant?"
You crack your knuckles.
"Didn't realize it's Tuesday already."

"Not... quite."

"Hmmm?"

"The man threatening Kanassa is called... Rime.

Your bloodpressure skyrockets and you feel the veins in your eyes struggling from not exploding.
"Frost... Frost? FROST?! FROOOOOOOOOOST!"

The elderly alien reels back in utter shock of your angry explosion.
She can't help but remain silent until you regain enough composure to listen to her once more.
*ahem*

"Yes... Captain Rime...
He is the leader of the notorious pangalactic pirates...
They call themselves Absolute Zero... And unless stopped they'll surely wreak havoc on my dear, dear Kanassa...
Please hero! You are the only hope of my people!

"Sorry. I'm not superstitious! The girls come.

She bows as much as her old back lets her.
"I did not wish to impose.
If this is your decision then I'll honor it. You won't hear me complain any longer.
Now... Shall we leave?"

"Yes. I assume you have a ship."

"Y-Yes. I have one of course!
We'll reach Kanassa in an hour with it!"

"Good!"
You turn to the Universe 9 folk and your kids.
"Keep an eye on Sam while I'm gone. And if he does anything just tap him on the head. That should give him a light enough concussion. Or just spray some water in his eyes."

"HEY!"

After that you left the orbit of your planet and even the area around Champas domain where even space has air.
Like through a bubble you burst out with an aura of Ki holding a pocket atmosphere around you.
But the ladys ship is nowhere to be seen.

"Sooo.... where is it?"

"Here."
She extends her hands and with some strange energies manages to conjure a transport that looks... nothing like you imagined it.
Being aquatic, you expected their ships to have fins and other such things. But this one appears more spiky and a lot less organic than you thought.
Looks hella cool though.
"After you."

Entering through a hatch the three of you sit down while the old lady starts piloting the vessel.
But after leaving the universal core she turns on the autopilot and speaks to you.
"Just so you know Rime has an armada of ships at his disposal as well as a small army consisting of tens of thousands of space pirates. And many of them are exceedingly strong."

"Yeah yeah-"
Caulifla waves her off.
"None of them are as strong as him though... otherwise he wouldn't keep them around as lackeys."

"Speaking from experience?"
You grin at her.

"Yes. So shut up and listen to what I have to say.
It might save your life. But not really. I know you can protect yourself."

True to the lady's word you arrive in about an hour as your ship quickly crawls to a halt.
Looking out the window it becomes readily apparent that you are too late.

"Oh nooooo! They are already here!"

You see an armada of flying saucers surrounding the planet and many, many people floating around them.
"What are they doing?"

"Oh no! This is terrible!"
She cries.
"The Absolute Zero pirates are known to bombard planets that they can't plunder!
And Kanassa being so poor-"
She reaches for the controls.
"We must land without them noticing! If they see us they'll start shelling them!"

You sit back in your chair and look them over.
None of these supposed space pirates feel particularly strong, meaning they must be relying on blaster weapons to fight.
They shouldn't put up much of a fight if you engage them. But if you do then... there is a very high chance they'll indeed bombard the planet and kill many innocents before you can clean them up.
Down on the planet however you fell exactly one overwhelming power. One equal to Frosts, perhaps even greater. You can't be too sure from such a distance.
Perhaps some strategy would be in order.

>Take us down. Caulifla and Kale will handle the fodder while I beat up Rime.

You turn to Caulifla and Kale.
"Do you think you can handle those ships?"
You point at the pirate fleet.

"Are you kidding me? We chew through tougher mooks as a hobby!"

"That's not what I mean.
I don't doubt your abilities but I don't want them to attack the planet.
Can you protect them?"

They exchange a quick nod.
"Yeah."

You then turn to the old lady.
"You don't have a problem with this I take it?"

"Nono! Certainly not! Do as you please!
But please do it quick!"
She smiles.

Following that the girls make their way to the hatch and discuss their plan as the door behind them closes so the vacuum doesn't jettison all of you.
"Okay Kale. Once we start running out of air we dive down and refresh our bubble."

"Just like in the simulation!"

"Yes! Good girl! Just like in the raid simulations!"

They jump out and waste no time wrecking the world of the Absolute Zero pirates.
Starting with the ships they punch, tear, blow off or otherwise tie their guns together like in a cartoon, rendering all ships defenseless.
Then they turn their attention to the men and start breaking some faces.

Meanwhile your "guide" makes planetfall with her ship while the armada is busy.
Kicking down the door you step out and start looking for the power of Rime, which isn't particularly hard as it literally overshadows every other signal on the planet.
"Great. Now that I know where he is it's time to go to work!"

Cracking your knuckles you prepare to take off but find a ki blast hitting the ground near you.
Looking up you see a guy standing on a rock. Strange how you didn't notice him before despite his decent-ish energy level.
Looks like these guys CAN surpass their energy levels after all.

He points a hand at you and shouts.
"STOP OR I SHOOT!"

The old alien runs close to you as fast as her legs can carry her.
"He must be one of the pirates! Quick!
Dispatch him before he reports to Rime!"
She points at the small alien.
He looks like he's about to say something and it looks like he's already charging up a blast.

Anyway, Double DC 21 for mind reading, I'm assuming absoltely everything going on is a Trap, that Kale and Caulifla may or may not be beating up random people, and that Rime has somekind of super powerful Psychic on his pay roll. Quite possibly the fishlady right next to us.
>>
"I'm having a bad feeling about this..."
You mutter as you see the alien firing a ki blast from his hand.
But there is something strange about it.

Extending your hand to the side you swat it away and start thinking about it.
Why did he aim at her and not you? He did say "Stop or I shoot" and she did move while you didn't...
There is only one way to be certain.

"Heh... Shooting a helpless old lady?
Yeap... that's the most pirate thing I can think of."

"You... You don't understand-"

That confirms it. Something is going on.
You try to read the guys mind real quick to see what's his deal but... you bump into quite a lot of resistance.
His mind is like an impenetrable fort but... he's not the one who erected those defenses. No, it doesn't take any effort from him to keep that up. Somebody else did it.
Finding nothing you turn your attention to the old lady next to you.

She's... just as formidable but in a completely different manner.
Unlike the small alien up on the rock, she appears to have very active defenses that she's keeping up.
And she notices your intrusion! SHIT!

She looks up at you and gives you a grim look.
"We Kanassans must protect our minds very carefully...
If someone were to read our minds and access the future it'd have terrible consequences, wouldn't it?
Especially if Rime has psychics at his disposal."
She looks up at your opponent.
"Isn't that right? You read his mind as well, didn't you? You know I speak the truth!"

"SHE'S LYING!"
The tiny alien shouts.

"Oh? Then is it not your intention to make him go away?
To let Kanassa be destroyed?"

He starts sweating.
Looks like it's true.
"T-That's not it!"

"There you have it."
The hag responds.

But you aren't convinced.
"Lower your defenses so I can read your mind! Then I'll hear you out!"

"I... can't!"
He points down.
"BECAUSE OF HER!"

Well... this is going nowhere.
"DO YOU DO YOU NOT WANT ME TO LEAVE?!"
You ask him.

"Yes! You need to get out of here!"
He responds.

Then you turn to her.
"And you... Do you want me to KILL Rime?"

"Yes..."
She then points up.
"And he can tell you the same thing."
The man bites his lips.

You seem to be at an impasse.

Multiple things
This woman clearly is trying to use us to change the future.
We couldn't read the aliens mind because of the woman for some reason (possibly to prevent time patrol info leaking, who knows, also possible the woman is putting a shield on him?)
He didn't attack us too.
>>
>>3518401
Clearly they're here cause we STANCED too hard
>>
>>3518445
I feel like it's closer to the woman seeing Rime wants our head in the future and she wants to trade us for her planet. It's a bit more likely it's that then the time patrol coming out of nowhere.
>>
There is no real way out of this.
It's like one of those old riddles, how do you tell which one you should trust?
Luckily... this isn't some bullshit philosophy course. This is real life. Meaning there is ALWAYS another option.
And that is your forte.

Jumping up with a surge of power you wind up a punch and before the hostile little alien could react hit him in the stomach so hard his beady little eyes turn white and eventually close.
Turning around you see the old woman sighing with relief.

"Thank goodness young man... you made the correct choice.
Now... let us make our way to Rime...
Don't worry, should he overpower you I'll boost your power and-"

But before she could finish you use a portal to quickly get behind her and karate chop her neck...
Or at least you would've if she didn't vanish right before impact. Jerking your head around you look over your shoulder and up at the sky where she is floating, her cape fluttering in the wind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkgSOy-S-eU

"A pity...
Looks like you chose death instead..."

"Oh? So he WAS telling the truth!"

"No... I was.
You should've accepted my help.
Rime would've died then."
A portal then opens up behind her but it's quite unlike yours. It has a much more... sinister glow to it with chaotic energies swirling inside.
"I hope you'll enjoy laying in the bed you made."

Floating backwards she disappears in the vortex and the portal closes on its own.
Letting out an audible "Hmph" you walk over to the little guy and try to shake him awake.
He coughs up some fluid before he comes back to his senses and looks at you.
But before he could say anything you point your open palm at his face.

"You better lower that barrier now!"

"C-Can't... The risk is too great.
Can't expose myself to her."

"Okay... Then talk!"

"I... I need to make a call first!
Then I'll try to explain things as best I can!"
>>

>>
He pulls out a scouter from his pocket and puts it on.
Pressing the button he opens a comm channel.
"The target escaped....
Yes I understand. I'm sorry.
N-No please! Let me!"

He then promptly shuts the thing off and looks at you with a great deal of concern in his eyes.
You don't know why but he seems to be genuinely disturbed by something.
"I'm sorry... this... this will sound strange I know. But I can't tell you much."

"You can start by telling me what the hell is going on here!"

"I can't. Not yet. Not to you."
He shakes his head and then sighs.
"I wanted you to leave but it's too late for that.
So we'll have to do this. You must approach Rime-"

"Wait I though you wanted me to leave!"

"That was then. I called my superiors. They told me it's okay now... With her gone. Trust me, this'll make sense once you approach him.
You must let him kill you-"

"I have... SEVERAL questions!"

"I know... but I can't answer them.
Instead I must ask that you trust me! It'll make sense once you walk up to him!
He'll ask you to shake his hand-"

"And it's a trap-"

"No...
It's a genuine gesture. He'll tell you how he hated his son and wanted to thank you for it.
But then he'll give you an ultimatum. Normally he'd corner you, saying you have three choices:
1: He kills you quickly and painlessly
2: He blows up the planet and you with it
3: You fight him and manage to stand up to him. Normally he'd have his men open fire on the planet and kill its populace.
The third option is out of question now. Your friends work too fast...
But whatever you do, he must kill you! Do you understand?!
PLEASE! PROMISE ME! If he does as I said... you'll let him kill you!"

"What kinda batshit insane logic is this?"

He then hears his scouter ringing and picks it up.
Carefully listening he nods as he apparently gets instructions before turning back to you and starts clearly reciting what he just heard.
*ahem*
"You just met fish people that can see the future. And this surprises you?"

At that moment his scouter goes on once more but this time it's so loud even you can hear it.
"OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! YOU'RE TERRIBLE! LET ME TALK TO HIM!"
The little man does not argue, instead he meekly hands over the device without a word.
You slap the thing on and the same female voice comes in.

"Hello?"
You speak.

"Hey errr... you don't know me but I know you.
Look the situation is very delicate so I'll try to explain things as best I can.
But understand that because you are so closely connected to the time stream every little bit of information I give to you could have unforeseen consequences-"

"The time stream? The fuck?"

"Your time-skip ability. It makes you experience time in a drastically different manner even if you don't realize it.
She was planning on using you to change the flow of time and alter the future... The situation is dire but not unsalvageable.
Things have already changed but if the correct events still transpire history can still settle into its course!"

"And... according to you seers I'll... die? Again?"

"Y-Yes...
Originally Rime would make his way to Earth where your meeting would transpire.
He'd offer you a chance as a gesture... Your life in exchange for your planets safety.
You'd sacrifice yourself to spare the population of Earth from Rimes bombardment... or annihilation.
Now that will likely never happen unless you leave now. But knowing how stubborn you are... that might not happen.
Still if Rime kills you things should transpire as they should!"

"And what about the girls? Or Champa?"

"Not to worry... You wouldn't remain dead for long. By the time Champa hears about it you'd be back.
And the girls... Well I can't tell much about them."

"Okay. So someone will resurrect me. The girls I assume.
How long will it take? Days? Weeks? Months?"

"Minutes.
You don't know the one who'll do it and they are prepped and ready.
They are just waiting for you to die now."

"Will... will it hurt?"

"Can't say much about the girls?
...
Wait! ARE YOU MY FUTURE DAUGHTER?!"

"What? NOOOOO!"
She starts screaming in your ear.
"HOW COULD YOU ASK SOMETHING SO STUPID AT A TIME LIKE THIS!
THIS IS SERIOUS!"

"Sheesh... Okay okay. I'll cut it out.
But seriously, you people expect me to believe any of this? You do realize I have no actual reason to trust you. Right?"

"I know it's a lot to take in and it's hard to believe. But trust me.
Even if I lie there are plenty of people who'd do anything to bring you back.
And don't worry. I assure you, you won't regret going along with this."

"Okay... I'll take your word for it.
But you owe me."

She gulps.
"O-Of course..."
Then you hear her faintly muttering something to herself.
"What have I gotten myself into? Why can't his memories be erased like everyone elses? Stupid time-skip!
B-But maybe he'll come here...
OH GOSH THIS IS STILL ON-"

You then cut off the line and toss the scouter back to the dude.
"Okay. I'm on board. Time to suicide myself...
But tell me. Can I spare the Kanassans like I'd do Earth?"

He nods.
"Probably. Rime is... not like his son."

"We'll see. Okay, you can fuck off now."
Just as you finish saying that a strange light engulf the tiny little alien and he disappears... into thin air.
Not even a trace of his ki signature remains. Maybe there is something to this whole time people bullshit.

Can't modifiers be made on wishes? Like the "Revive everyone... killed by Frieza's men!" and stuff like that right? What if the person waiting does like "Wish back Eric... but without his powers!"
>>
Making your way to the abnormal powerlevel you spot a bunch of armed men robbing the fish people at gun point.
The locals seem to be finishing packing all their food and valuables into crates for the pirates to take.

"That's all?"
The large frost demon who looks remarkably like Frost with a few key differences speaks up.
He looks like a very stereotypical pirate with an eyepatch covering his left eye and his left arm replaced by a prosthetic, not a hook but a robotic hand which has talon like fingers.
He scratches his chin as he looks over his "plunder".
"You know... I usually can't decide which one I like when they resist or when they don't.
But this time... you don't put up a fight, you don't have any goods to take... you're no fun."

"W-We're sorry sir but we don't have much! Our planet is poor and if we give any more food then we... we might starve to death!"

"Nonsense."
The robust figure points a finger at them and charges up a death beam.
"Only half of you would starve to death, the other could then eat THEM!
But I'm not a heartless monster. You may keep the rest of your stockpiles... But next time I'm expecting a more generous donation."

"N-Next time?"

"Yarr Cap'n!"

"Not now first mate-"

"But Cap'n! Tharr she blows!"

"Hmmm?"
Rime turns around to spot you.
"My my my... you aren't one of the locals, are you?
Who might you be?"

"Sup. I'm Eric son of Earth. Descendant of vikings and inheritor of the Berserker rage.
Also I'm the guy who trimmed your family tree."

"Aaaaaaaah! So you are the one!
Thank space christ, I was getting so tired of plundering these backwater planets.
I swear we are using up more supplies than we can replenish! That's usually not an issue."

"I heard you're looking for me so I came.
What do you want from me and... these people."

"Them? Nothing. But a man gotta eat."

"Yeah you're pirates, I get that. I don't really care.
I'm more curious about myself."

"You see... I was looking for the man that killed my dear little boy...
Because I want to shake your hand."
He then extends his right arm for you.

"And why would I be so stupid as to take it?"

"Oh please... you of all people should know what my son was like if you killed him.
And I assure you... there is NOBODY in the universe who despised him more than I did!"
He points at his eye with his metallic hand.
"These were my... fathers day gifts from him. He maimed me... took my crew... my ships. Everything I had!
I am grateful beyond words and my only regret is that I couldn't do it myself..."

I have very little faith in the Time Patrol.

I also have little reason to think that wishing us back to life, would ressurect Buu, or somehow shove him back into the back seat if he took control of our body.

I was willing to humor the SKoT before, but fuck that now, no way am I going to just let us die and risk Buu going on a rampage.

There's no reason to make an enemy of TimeLoli.
Buu would rampage all over Rime in the 3 minutes it takes if anything happens at all.
Also him killing us with a hole through the heart and full Majin mode happening with our corpse just getting back up would be cool as fuck
>>
>>3518948
I don't care about her side or Towa's side anon. I just want our timeline left the fuck alone.

Also, fuck that, because then an entire planet of innocent people gets massacred, or Buu ends up fighting Kale and Caulifla, and we have no idea how THAT ends.

Screw the Time Loli, Screw the Demon THOT, instead of Killing Rime, just beat the absolute shit out of him, and walk away. Fuck both of their plans.
>>
You smirk and walk up to the man.
Taking his hand you give it a firm shake.
In turn he does the same, his grip is strong but not threatening and you don't exactly "feel" any malice coming from him.

"Then why do you want to kill me?"

"My my... what gave you that idea?"

"You don't need an army for just that!"

"True... But I don't like leaving my men alone.
Last time I did that I had mutiny... But you're correct. However not for the reason you think.
I meant what I said. I truly feel indebted to you. Under any other circumstance I'd offer you a very dignified position in my crew... or at least several planets worth of riches."

"And these circumstances are?"

He sighs and lets go of your hand.
"Don't take it personally. This is just business.
I don't care about Frost at all... However if word of this spreads... that some backwater hick can just come and kill a member of my family unpunished...
Let's just say I don't want that. Because then they might get the idea that they can come after the people I actually care about. And I can't have that..."

He shows a surprising amount of rather complex emotions for being a cold hearted space lizard dictator of sorts.
And still... you don't feel malice from him. Well not as much as you'd expect from a pirate.
But he still wants to kill you. And he has no reservations about it. He might not like the idea but he'll do it in a heartbeat and won't loose any sleep from it.
He is truly a seasoned and ruthless killer.

"However... I offer you a courtesy I don't extend so often.
I'll give you a quick and painless death. How does that sound?"

"Pass. I'd rather kick the shit out of you to be honest."

"Oh I do not "fight" people."
He points his finger down and charges up a glowing little sphere that you feel is capable of blowing up the entire planet.
"I only deal in "murder" you see."

"So you'll kill yourself just to take me down?
Smart move."

"You don't get it. I don't need air to survive. The vacuum of space is fine.
And while you might be able to get the upper hand do you really think you can stop me from ever dropping one of these?
Come now... my offer is quite generous. I suggest you take it."

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from.I mostly fight people as a hobby, really I was trained for assassination. I'm just here since I'm suppose to give you a gimme. You seem respectable however, and seem to have missed the third option.
You wouldn't lose any face if you hired someone to deal with Frost after all, just spread a rumor that he was killed on your order after embarrassing your family not once, but twice infront of the God of Destruction.

All we have to do is play the Vados/Champa cards guys, and we can out of this without Rime coming after our home, without letting Buu out, and without killing him like Towa wants.

You do realize that "killing Rime" was never Towas goal. It's fucking up the time stream, regardless how it happens?

I'm not trying to imply anything or alter your votes. Just trying to clear up the confusion
>>
>>3519032
And i'm more worried about letting a primordial evil run free than i am about something someone at Future!Trunks level can fix

Xeno Trunks should theoretically be at Super!Trunks level.
>>
>>3519048
Yeah. Kid Buu is something even CHAMPA couldn't kill. A piece of him isn't something The Girls can handle. And we have no proof whatsoever that a wish to bring us back, will put us back in control of our body, or that if Buu dies when we do, it will bring him back too.
>>
>>3519055
Yes. Except the poop is radioactive and messes with the space time continuum

Your assuming their going to be thinking clearly, after we die, and then Buu posses our body and starts whiling on Rime.

The local planet's going to get ashed, we have no idea who effective Kelfa will be against Buu Possessed Eric and his regeneration, if they will even get the chance to fuse in the first place, or that when we get brought back we'll be able to retake control of our body.

Its a stupid risk, that hurts some of the people closest to us, for no god damn reason. Just fucking drop the Champa card. Say he totally hired us to kill his shitbag son. Whatever. We have more options here then fucking dying.

Exactly! Hell Trunks time traveled, TWICE, and so did Cell, and NOTHING HAPPENED.

We could have fucking walked away. We could have talked him into not wanting to kill us. But NOPE. Just walk right to our death like Harry God Damn Potter.

When this blows up in our faces, when whatever the fuck with Buu happens, when Kale and Caulifla blow up at us about just walking to our deaths and not giving a damn about their feelings, or of our kids, I'm going to point to every single post I made today, and say that these idiots in chat brought it alllllllllll on themselves.

Zamasu was ENTIRELY because Goku went God against Beerus.

You look him in the eye and tell him this...
It doesn't sit well to pull out that card but it's worth a shot.

"You do realize I work for Champa right?

Rime then slowly walks up to you streaking his chin.
"That... is a risk I'm willing to take."
Oh fuck.
"From what I heard... A destroyer can destroy your soul... Sounds preferable to Hell I'd say."

"Trust me. It isn't.
But fine. You don't care. How about spreading the rumor that you hired me to take him out?
For humiliating you in front of a destroyer TWICE?"

"Not a bad offer... but if I know about you... then so do others.
It's too little too late."

"Okay. Fine then. Do it. But promise me you won't hurt Kanassa or Earth for that matter anymore!
Leave!"

"That I can promise."

"Oh and I can't guarantee you'll live for more than a few minutes.
Those guys up there, the ones that are just about done dismantling your fleet... they'll eat you alive."

He shrugs.
"Like I said. I'm not afraid to die.
I'm not doing this for myself..."
Then he extends a finger and points it at your chest.
"Are you ready? Don't wiggle or I'll miss."

You awaken in the afterlife shortly afterwards.
It feels like the laser piercing your chest was just a bad dream but no... this is definitely the place.
Only something's different now. You look down and immediately see it.
You still have your body where last time you were only a wisp. And you have a neat little halo to boot.

A blue ogre approaches you as he adjusts his glasses.
"My oh my. This is rare."

"Erm... hi. What's going on?"

"You got to keep your body.
Congratulations! Please follow me! We're going to King Enma!"

"Shouldn't I stay in the line?"

"Oh heavens no!"
Skipping the line the ogre takes you down the lane of souls while explaining things.
"You see exceptional individuals get a copy of their mortal bodies to move around in after they die.
You must've been a great warrior or a very spiritually pure person to get this. This means you get to hang out in the other parts of the afterlife, not just Heaven or Hell.
There you can mingle with other great figures like yourself and even the Kai."

"Okay... but why?"

"So the Kais and Supreme Kais can learn from you and make the universe a better place!"

Walking up to the big man himself you see the large blue devil stamping papers.
"Next, strip... Next, strip... Next-
Oh!"
He spots you and adjusts his reading glasses.
"Again? Already?"
He shrugs.
"Let's see here Eric, Eric... there we go."
He stamps your paper then hands you a complimentary sundae.
"There. Enjoy the afterlife-"

"Actually I'm not supposed to stay. Apparently someone-"

POOF

King Enmas eyes open wide in surprise.
"WHAT THE-"
You reach above your head and your halo is gone.
"IS DEATH A FUCKING JOKE TO YOU PEOPLE?!"

"Hey don't look at me, some bitch told me to kill my-"

POOF

"-self...
Huh?"
You look around and spot a familiar figure looking down at you, giving you an OK handsign.

"Your wish is granted."
Porunga then disappears in a flash of light and his dragon balls scatter around Namek.

Sipping on your sundae you start to look around for the mysterious individual who resurrected you.
What you find instead is... something unexpected.

"Hi. Welcome to the world of the living."

"Frost? Frost! FROOOOOOOOST!"

You ALMOST drop your sundae and start beating the lights out of this guy because you are fucking DONE with these people but a bunch of Namekians jump between you.
"Please! There is no need to be upset!"
They try desperately to calm you down.

Meanwhile the Frost Demon speaks up.
"Nonono. That'd be my douchebag little brother.
I'm Hail. I'm the one that wished you back."

"He cleared the trials and wished you back son of Earth!"

"Wut?"

"I heard what daddy dearest was planning to do to you.
Sorry about that. I thought I'd make it up to you. Hopefully he'll get off your case now."

That's... a bit too much to take in right now.

Hmmmm...
Hard to say. However I do believe I could run during Wednesday.
But bear in mind that it will be a bit slow as I'll likely be at my workplace

I feel like we will not only be receiving a smack from Califla and Kale over dying, but also from Kefla the next time they fuse.

I suspect they're going to scream at us.

Not-Som at the risk of sounding like too much like a suckup I'd like to give you a compliment. You are the first QM I have ever gone back to read sections of the quest again just because of how genuinely I enjoyed them. So thank you for giving me that experience.

Which scene was it?

Don't get in trouble at work running this quest. Work is more important then it.
>>
>>3520763
Eh... It's no exaggeration when I say that I have literally no work during the day.
So far I used those downtimes to read quests. Nobody batted an eye.

I'm pretty sure I can get away with it as long as I don't post pictures or jewtube links

>>3520902
Eh, as long as you don't go explicitly NSFW & they don't give a shit as you long as you get your work done, you probably can.

So uh...I thought about it long and hard.
While I feel confident in this I still don't have the balls that questing during my workshift needs.

Which sadly means, due to my absolutely ass shifts that I don't have much time left to quest.
So... let's do a little compromise.

1.) I'll post some side content today to keep you entertained.
2.) Though it's gonna hurt Imma try and do a short session on Saturday.

Sadly I don't have enough free time for a session any other time. Maybe a super mini session tomorrow.
How's that sound?

>>
"Alright Kale!"
Caulifla started cranking her hand while her friend finished ripping off a spaceships cannon.
"We crippled these chumps! Now it's time to have some fun!"

As the Saiyan girl looked at the space pirates the blood froze in their veins once they saw her grin and charge up a red sparkling blast at her fingertips.
However as the salty sea dogs hugged their closest mates seeking comfort in the face of death... they find their killer frozen.
Suddenly Cauliflas eyes shrink, making the blue part of her eyes almost disappear as she jerks her head around.

"No..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz2_wA2ZOAs

It was... harrowing. The difference between the huge powerlevel of Captain Rime compared to the one that just plummeted cut deep like a blade of glass.
A sharp pain pierced through her chest, making her feel cold and hollow.

"NO!"
She cried out in defiance once more.

Out of nowhere a scream broke through the muffling veil of space which resonated with Caulifla, further shaking her to the core.
"A-a-a... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
AH-AH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

The light of the star around which Kanassa orbits begins to distort around Kale as she unconsciously lets out waves of ever denser ki before she explodes in a supernova of pure rage and sorrow.
As her unwitting transformation obliterates the majority of the Absolute Zero Pirates she immediately begins to seek new targets with her rage filled eyes.
But as important as that is to Caulifla... right now she is just as lost and scared as she is.
>>
Diving straight down she makes entry and as she accelerates further and further a cone of heat forms around her body.
Chanting to herself like a mantra as the faint power fades quicker and quicker she tries to deceive herself.

"No no no no no no no no no no no no no no! Nonononono!"

Flipping around at the last moment she lands feet first and right after she creates a crater she leaps out of it and runs forward.
But once she saw the thing with her own eyes she stopped.
Rime obviously recognizing this scene took a step back and allowed it to play out.

Slowly walking up there Caulifla knelt down and shuddered for a minute before hugging the now lifeless body.
There was no sound, no arguing, no denial, no angry shouting... just a single sob.
Looking up from her friend however she laid eyes on Rime and suddenly everything changed.
With a tear trickling down her face she gently put down Eric and straightened her back.

Now huffing and puffing her attitude changed.
There was now no sadness. Only overwhelming anger.
She walked up to Rime, no words, no wise cracks, no threats... just the sound of her forced breathing.
Once right in front of the bastard she stopped as the pirate began to talk.

"I'll give you an advice. Don't make the same mistake he did.
Walk away."
There was no response. Only dead eyes projecting a cold that chilled even the frost demon.
"As you wish."

The Captain then raised his fist and attempted to punch Caulifla in the face but the girl caught his hand effortlessly.
Struggling to pull away from the Saiyans iron grip Rime began smacking her around with his other hand but the girl didn't even flinch.
She began tightening her grip around her opponents hand, causing his bones to let out an audible crackle.
Suddenly her hair becomes even more spiky, completely standing up and arcs of lightning start appearing around her.

Still in complete silence she waits as the crew of the now screaming pirate jumps in to aid him.
"YARRR! WE GOT YE' CAP-"

But with her free hand Caulifla smacked the loud sack of dead meat in the side, causing him to shut up.
A round dent appears in the side of the pirate and as he continues to silently gasp for air the circle expands until it reaches his other side, at which point his body begins to contort and twist before the force of the punch reverberates through his entire being, causing him to explode in a cloud of dust.
She looks up from Rime and lets go of his hand briefly in order to cut the others in half with one spinning kick before getting back to the Captain and grabbing his hand again.

Rime... didn't even see any of that happen.
>>
And that's one.

On one hand I feel awful that they have to go through such horrible grief, thinking they've lost a loved one.

On the other hand I'm sure this extreme burst of emotion will probably Increase their potential somehow, because that's just how saiyans work.

Lastly I pity future us when we explain to them that yes, we totally died on purpose for 'reasons'. Reasons as In somebody said we needed to protect the fuuuuture.

It won't be enough. Prepare yourselves for the biggest asskicking we've ever had. We're going to need to be revived AGAIN after all this.

>They kick our ass so hard we actually evolve THE STANCE to compensate.
>>
>>3524863
Yeeeeeeeeep. We're going to get fucked up worse by the girls then Rime ever could have managed.
>>3519115
>When this blows up in our faces, when whatever the fuck with Buu happens, when Kale and Caulifla blow up at us about just walking to our deaths and not giving a damn about their feelings, or of our kids, I'm going to point to every single post I made today, and say that these idiots in chat brought it alllllllllll on themselves.

And now I'm quoting my point like I said I would. People fucked up, let themselves be killed, and now that Kale and Caulifla have a broken heart, we're going to have to deal with the fall out of our fuck up.

Thanks everyone who voted for us to walk to our deaths. Your responsible for this.
>>
>>3524863
You laugh now, but this is the kind of situation that causes a break up. We should say something like "sorry I died, I had to sacrifice myself to avoid the annihilation of an entire race, well two, also save time itself". Whatever we do, listen to the girls, let them cry and be angry at Eric for as long as they need (Vados included). Also Champa is going to beat the crap out of us for threatening his daily meal for something insignificant like time.
>>
>>3524882
We honestly need to talk to Champa and Vados about this. Not only so that Eric can find out IC what the fuck was going on, but also so they can talk to the Supreme Kai of Time, and know about Towa and Mira and the threat shes poses.
>>
>>3524889
Oh man, Supreme Kai of Time is not gonna enjoy being visited by a pissed off God of Destruction.
"So I was gonna fight him but the suspicious lady turned out to be trying to destroy time itself and this time cop told me I had to die and then he put his boss on the phone and she said that I'm supposed to die fighting Rime on earth but it's fine if I died on Kanassa and then I got resurrected. Honestly a surreal situation."
Caulifla and Kale will also probably want a word with SKoT.
Hell maybe Kefla will want a word.
>>
>>3524881
Honestly this

The idea that a future man told us we needed to die and we just followed him with little to no proof or even discussion with the girls [which probably wasn't possible but still] should heavily impact the relationship. He'll I wouldn't even be upset of they broke up and stopped speaking with us. Over all I hope it's not just gonna be a, "Well this random guy said to save everyone I had to die to Rime for the some reason and I said add sure, but don't worry cause I'm all better." Because that's not how relationships work. Fuck I'd count it lucky if all we had to deal with is a ass kicking
>>
SKOT is gonna get a really pissed off Champa knocking down her door for such a fuck up that she caused with this shit
>>
>>3525303
I know this might sound like terrible relationship advice but we should just say some bullshit instead of the real reason and save us some trouble. "I'm very sorry but I swear I had very good, super secret reasons to do what I did so please don't be mad at me and don't ask me anymore..."
>>
>>3524881
>>3525303
I think you guys are forgetting two things first he was ready to destroy the planet if we didn't agree to dying meaning if we chose to fight right away he could have just revival of F'd us killing everyone and most importantly that this is dragon ball. I don't think any of us clicked on this quest wanting a relationship drama. Especially when it sound like SOM tier bullshit suffering levels. Them beating on us for a bit in a fun joke scene is about the most we should get out of this especially given that things did get a bit messy during that part.
>>
*YAAAAAAWN*

"What's wrong Cabba?"

"This whole situation is killing me..."
The saiyan responds to Elena as the two of them walk on the street.
"All these meetings with the world leaders, all the reports I gotta fill out for Sadala, then all the interviews I gotta do and all the people who want to take pictures with an alien...
It's just a bit too much! I just want to rest a bit and not have to worry about all that."

"Hmmmmm.... I think I got an idea!
You say you don't want to talk with people, right?"

"Y-yeah. That sounds very nice right now."

Leading the boy to a rather large building Elena takes Cabba to a place called a "Cinema".
After standing in line for a bit Cabba began doubting the judgment of the girl because now he seemed more exposed than when they were on the street. At least there were less people there.
But after they got their tickets and eventually their jumbo sized snacks things started becoming a bit more clear after they entered a dimly lit room with rows upon rows of chairs.

They move to their designated seats and as they sit down with their popcorn and nachos Elena begins explaining a few rules to him.
"Okay. See that big screen over there?"

"Uh-huh."

"They are gonna show a movie on it.
When the lights go out just be quiet, enjoy the snacks and the show.
Nobody will even see you, nobody will bother you."

"W-Wow! Really?"

"Yeap. Just stay quiet.
Nobody likes it if someone talks."

True to the girls word things transpired exactly how she said they would.
And after roughly two hours of action packed goodness the two left the theater satisfied, Cabba even more so.
"THAT WAS AMAZING!"
He shouted as he dunked his empty popcorn bag into the trash.
"I had no idea you had such great heroes on your planet! I got so much more to learn about your history!"

Elena then chuckled.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. But you do realize this is just a movie?
It's just a work of fiction."

"Fic-tion?"

"Not real... Don't tell me you don't have movies on your planet."

"N-No.
Most forms of media are... historic or educational."

"That's... odd. But I hope that at least it helped you relax a bit."

"It sure did.
Thank you Elena!"

Then you shouldn’t have voted for the option that causes relationship drama. Actions have consequences. Who’d have thought?
>>
>>3525779
"Sorry I died, I was told by the time police that time would break if I didn't. They did however promise instant resurrection and I got a sundae out of the deal."
Don't be silly we've been dead for like 5 minutes and we kind of had to because of the time cops.
>>
>>3525781
And we had any proof of any of that beyond ‘the voice on the phone said it so must be true’?
>>
>>3525794
Not beforehand, but the fact that we got resurrected as we were assured has to count for something, right? And it's not like we didn't go into it without any doubts of our own, it was just the best we could do to handle a problem we can barely comprehend from getting loads worse. "Sorry, as much as I would have preferred to talk it out with you ahead of time or even just warned the two of you, it wasn't a luxury I had at the moment."
>>
>>3525840
Your applying logic to emotional harm. Caulifa and kale felt us die and Caulifa saw our dead body. The idea that us literally giving our lives on the chance of it saving everyone later doesn't fix things. Sure it worked out by then comes the question of what if it didn't. Would we do that if anybody just with a phone had asked us too? Obviously not but as far as their POV is concerned we got killed by a space tyrant because a guy with a phone sad we needed to die and that they'd revive us for doing so after. Some random guy, who could've easily just been a grunt of Rime faking his evilness. The idea that they'd be okay with Eric tossing his life at the slightest whim and that they'd be okay with it because, "It worked out in the end." Is not how relationships work. If your spouse literally jumped off a bridge with a l because some rando guy said they needed him to and that there was a net at the bottom that you had no proof of, and they just jumped off without even turning to think about you and ended up okay, how would you feel? It'd start with relief that they're okay but then wouldn't you be angry they had done something so stupid for little to no reason? Now imagine that's the same bridge known for the amount of deaths caused and that your spouse's body floated up motionless making you think they were dead. They should absolutely react beyond simply kicking his ass and calling it a day. Sorry bout the wall of text but I really think bthere should be some fall back after what we've done.
>>
>>3525994
The alternative was time getting fucked, earth possibly getting fucked, and that witch that we saw said and did some extremely suspicious things we can argue that alone was reason to buy Into what the time cops were saying, It's not like we did It for no reason. If we went along with her shit, she would have gained something horrible from the ordeal long term or short term and It would have had much nastier consequences than this. Including possibly killing the girls, we just don't know.

Yes, It fucking sucks they had to deal with this. I say throw SKOT and the witch under the bus, take an ass kicking and let the chips fall where they may, of course this Isn't something that you just wash your hands of and forge about but It doesn't mean they'll fuck off to never see us again. Just because this Is really bad doesn't mean our relationship Is guaranteed to be over. Especially If we get to pursue whoever the witch was (U6 Towa?) and make her answer for her bullshit (Kick the shit out of her). The way I see It, this situation Is only partially our fault. Focus on the parts of It that aren't our fault.

I'm going to be honest Not-Som for the sake of my enjoyment of this quest. The one bit of "Drama" we had so far (That being rushing to tell confess to Califla sfter Kale made us sperg out) was probably my least favorite scene of the quest. I think you will quickly find that a lot of posters will jump ship if we start having to deal with Drama. It isn't about actions having consequences it is about trying to fit a whole new genre into Dragon Ball. At the end of the day it is an action, comedy, adventure don't try to add in Drama because it doesn't need to be it will just suck the fun out.
>>
>>3526782
Drama is always the worst shit in Dragon Ball quests and this is Dragon Ball. Consequences stopped mattering as soon as the Dragon Balls became a thing.

I mean hell, I expect them to freak out over Eric not telling them, him scratching the back of his head and laughing goku style and going "Whoops, I forgot to tell you I had a revive set up, right?"
It also doesn't help it kind of came up right after the whole Rime thing which felt fairly forced too.

Eh I have no problem with bit of drama after we basicly let a guy murder us. From their perspecive we probably deserve it. Its not like we are U7 where we have persional dragon balls we need to bother good people of Namek for rez every time. (Even to them in U7 death had meaning and big emotion at first like Gokus freakout to Krilin dying twice and stuff so its not exactly out of the franchises character)
>>
>>3528271
Thanks sheep.

But it's not specifically drama I'm after.
Drama for the sake of drama is basically just a Brazilian soap opera.
What I'm after is character development due to the dramadrama. I think that's much more in the spirit of Dragon Ball.
Hell that's basically what MADE Vegeta

I plan to do it today.
But it will be a short one with a later start than usual
>>
At first you thought it'd be easy, hop on the spaceship, fly back to Kanassa and kick a space pirate in the anus.
But with each parsec the ship traverses your frustration mounts and now you just can't take it anymore.
Kicking the wall of the ship you shout in anger.

"Can't this rustbucket go any faster?"

"I'm already flooring it.
If you want to overheat the engine and get spaced, feel free. But do it in someone elses ship.
This baby cost me a years worth of my salary! An authentic Arcosian Mk II. That is a fifteen year old vintage!
So if I catch you kicking my little pride and joy like that I'll personally make my wish null and void! You hear me?"

"GAH!"
You sit down in the co-pilots seat and watch the screen as it flickers and your breath goes away.
Despite feeling like you're going at about... 50-ish miles per hour the indicator clearly shows you passing by fucking galaxies.

"Don't worry.
At top speed and with a full tank this ship can fly from one corner of the universe to the other in a month.
The Arkosians might be weapon smiths but damn they can build freighters as well."

Staring out into hyperspace you feel the need to occupy your mind with something otherwise you risk going mad.
But the Frost Demons curiosity proved to be even greater than your frustration as he finally blurts out what's been occupying his mind for a while now.
"So uuuuuh...
What's it like?"

"It? The movie, the TV series, the cousin oooor..."

"Errr... you know. Death."
He returns his eyes to the windshield and manually adjusts the robot pilot so you avoid a few asteroid clouds and so you go on the most optimal path.
"I always wondered what it's like. Buuuut never got quite curious enough."

You shrug.
"It's nothing special.
Hell this was technically my third time."

"Really? Shiiiiet. That must be cool.
I don't think I could take one, let alone three."

"There is a certain comfort in knowing what's after it. Makes the whole concept a whole lot less scary.
But I must admit, not a fan of the process. Even now when it was instantaneous it was... harrowing, feeling yourself slip from the mortal coil."

"And uuuuuh... what's after?"

"You know, Heaven or Hell.
If you were good you get good shit if you weren't then ogres will shove spiky clubs up your bum."

"Huh... Guess daddy ain't gonna like that one bit."
He says that so matter of fact like. Guess if anyone then he knows where his father will end up.

>And what about you? What brought you here?

"Speaking of dying... why were you ready to bring me back?"

"Well..."
Hail responds while adjusting the ships course.
"It's hard to not notice when daddy goes all Scorched Earth.
News of Frosts death trickled down the vine and got into my ear. Then I knew what he'd do and frankly... I don't approve."

"Yeah but why? Isn't he your family?"

He scoffs at the notion.
"Hah! Yeah. But you can't exactly choose your family, can you?
I was his first son, the one he meant to be his successor..."

"So wait-"
The pieces start to click.
"Are you saying Frost was an afterthought?"

"Yeah.
Daddy wanted an heir. When I came forth and said I want nothing to do with him or his little "empire" he did not approve but... didn't stop me.
He made Frost instead and trained him to be his successor.
I left both of them behind and good thing too. Frost ended up being a right cunt, a perfect match for Daddy.
I tried my best to distance myself from both of them... And while nobody knows my exact relation to either I still can't escape the stigma of being a "member of Frosts race".
Funny, huh?"

"Yeah... funny."

"So yeah.
It was no secret to me that Daddy would come for your head... to protect me.
And this is specifically the thing I wanted to avoid: Having blood stuck on my hand."

Crossing your arms you stare out.
"I appreciate the gesture...
But I hope you don't expect me to spare your daddy..."

"Ya see this is what I was gonna ask next.
I'd like you to NOT do that. This is a family matter..."

"No can do. This has arguably more to do with me.
He killed me after all."

"Yes. And I brought you back!
So please! Just consider that debt paid!"

But while I get to it... would you like to play the fight as Hail or would you rather observe?
>>
>>3530891
Let's just observe it.
>>
>>3530891
Observe.

Also your acting like Rime hasn’t been killed by the girls already. Which is impossible.
>>
You look over the guy and raise an eyebrow at him.
Even though it'd be foolish to judge his over all power based on what you presume to be his first form, he's still much weaker than Frost ever was and definitely less intimidating than Rime.
But you simply shake these doubts of yours away as you respond to him.

"Sounds good to me...
But if things get hairy or he flees or tries anything underhanded which would harm others...
I will be more than happy to step in."

"That's fair I guess."
He looks at his arm and then clenches his hand.
"Well... Buckle up. We're about to exit hyperspace."
Hail then goes over the control panel and flips several switches before pulling down a level which prompts the ship to slow down and as you do he stares out the window.
"Errr... how many suns does Kanassa have again?
Kinda hard to tell after Namek..."

"Only one. Why?"
You look out the window and immediately realize what's wrong.
"Oh no..."

"This-This is wrong!
One is green and the other is... on the planet?"

"No no no!"
You smash your fist on the console in front of you in anger, angry at yourself and your ignorance.
"How could I be such a fool!"

Of course it's easy to dismiss Death after experiencing it twice, knowing what's on the other side.
Many people on Earth have either changed their ways in accordance to it or started living life in reckless abandon, stating that it doesn't matter what you do in life as long as you don't do anything outrageous.
And even though you don't really care much about your own life... that's not necessarily true for others.
You've got the Twins, Lyn, Vados and the girls just to name a few.

You are part of their life now and as such yours is precious.
"I was too reckless! DAMN IT!"

As you quickly stand up from your seat and walk to the door Hail begins shouting after you.
"HEY! What are you doing?! You can't breathe in space idiot!"

"I'm going out! I have to fix this!"

"FIX WHAT?!"

"Just land and stay the HELL away from Rime until I get back!"

"Wait wait wait! What the shit is going on?!"

Entering the floodgate you wait until the chamber decompresses before jumping out with your ki keeping a bubble of air around your body.
Looking out you see the glowing green aura of Kale and the myriad of life forces extinguished by one angry swipe of her arm.
The once largest pirate armada of the universe has been reduced to little more than a cloud of junk orbiting Kanassa, its crew now scatters, begging for their lives.
But nobody will hear their prayers. Not anymore.

"Damn it Kale...
How far did you fall?"

There is no way around this, you'll have to risk your neck without endangering Kale.
You'd rather not harm her since she's not in control of her own actions and there is a good chance you couldn't.
So that leaves only one option left: Trying to get her back to her senses.

"This is gonna hurt, isn't it?"
Flying over to the rampaging Saiyan you try to get her attention.
"Hey! KALE!"

"HRRRRRR!"
She stops whatever she was doing and lets go of the poor pirate.
Turning around she looks at you and growls as she becomes ready to charge.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

Without wasting a second she rushes you like a wounded boar, screaming and frothing at the mouth.
She winds up a massive haymaker and prepares to punch off your face. Closing your eyes out of fear you spread your arms and welcome whatever is coming your way.
But when nothing happens you open your eyes and see her frozen in place.

Visibly shaken and shivering she stares at you with those eerie white eyes.
Seeing this you swallow nervously and try to formulate what could constitute as an apology.
"Hey Kale..."

"E-E-"

"Yes. It's me."
Going in close you wrap your arms around her rather thick body and speak softly to her while trying to caress her back.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!"
Struggling with your emotions you snivel a bit while continuing.
"I didn't mean to scare you Kale... But it's okay now! No need to be angry!"

Slowly you feel the massive size difference between the two of you shrink as her body "deflates".
Finally she's back to her usual but still amazonian size as she looks at you, tears swollen under her eye.
"Is that really you? H-How?"

"Dragon Balls...
Listen Kale... I know I scared you, I know I was an ass...
I'll explain everything later and... AND YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO ME!
If you want to beat me up then so be it but we GOT TO go and help Caulifla as well!"

She reaches up and strokes your cheek.
"Don't be silly! I'm just... *sniff* I'm just so glad you're okay!"

>>
Despite still clearly emotionally shaken Kale manages to calm down enough to assert some semblance of control over the beast within.
Side by side you make your way down to the planet where you finally manage to breathe a bit easier.
Realizing the danger which Caulifla presents Kale tries to ask questions but cuts herself off as you make your way to the OTHER rampaging saiyan.

Finally you arrive at the location which feels like it was hit by a nuclear explosion.
Inside the swirling maelstorm you see three figures exchanging a mexican standoff.
Hail looks at his father who appears to be in his third form.

"Well well well... Transformed and still on your knees.
Never thought I'd see that."

"H-Hail! Why are you here?
It's dangerous! Get out of here!"

Caulifla then looks at the newcomer.
"Fuck off or die!"

"Ouch! Harsh!
But... I'll give you a different offer."
He points at you.

Caulifla turns around cautiously and becomes speechless.
*GASP*
Her pupils dilate.

You walk up to her slowly and as you do the pain in her eyes becomes readily apparent.
Once within earshot you softly speak to her.

"I'm sorry...
I'm so sorry!"
Going in you hug the girl while continuing to apologize to her.
"I can't undo the pain I caused but I will do everything I can to make this right! I promise!"

Instsead of answering or even acknowledging any of that she just begins to sob as her welled up emotions finally surface and she begins beating on your chest in frustration.
It isn't powerful, she clearly means no harm by it, she's simply frustrated.
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
Why? Why did you do this? How could you do this?
I though you- I thought you!"

"I'm... truly sorry. I didn't mean to harm you."

Now openly crying into your chest Cauliflas confidence shattered and all that is left is a girl who's wrought up by the pain of loss.
You continue to caress her hair and ease her worries while looking at the two Frost Demons who are left alone.
"Okay Hail... I did my part. Now it's up to you."

The two of them immediately begin conversing.
"Okay Hail... Now that they are distracted! Let's get out of here and-"

"No."

"What?"

"You weren't listening.
I came to put an end to this."

"Oh don't start this now!"

"But I AM starting this now-"

Rime then growls.
"Listen here you ungrateful brat! All I did was for YOUR sake!
Do you realize what would happen to you if I let this ape live? I was protecting you!"

"I don't remember asking for your protection.
All I ever wanted was to get away from your lifestyle. But it seems that's impossible.
So unless I fix this with my own two hands I won't be able to get a good nights sleep ever again.
And that's a problem. All I ever wanted was a quiet life. But now I can't have it unless I handle you."

"So what? You'll fight your own father?
Don't kid yourself! You're even less of a fighter than I am!
Do you really think you stand a chance against me?"

"I'll have to."
Hail then swipes his arm and from the bio armor around his forearm sprouts a long needle like stinger, much like Frosts.
But whereas the little bastards was the size of a tack this one looks more like a rapier.
"Let's do this dad!"

Hail then begins to power up and with a shout jumps straight to his final form so he could close that seemingly insurmountable gap of power between him and his father.

"HYYYYAAAAAA!"
He charges his father and attempts to impale him but his "Daddy simply jerks his head to the side, dodging the blade before grabbing his sons hand and pulling him close.

"Get that weak shit out of here son!"
He then headbutts Hail so hard the guy is sent flying backwards.

Slowly the pirate staggers up as he nurses the wounds he clearly sustained from fighting Caulifla and transforms with a shout.
"HAAAAAH!"
Now in his final form and many of his most grievous injuries recovered at least a bit he stares down his insolent little son and lifts him by the throat.
Hail struggles to breathe and gags on his own saliva as Daddy chokes him.

"I love you son but it's obvious you're in need of a SPANKING!"
Tossing him around a bit, Rime then choke slams Hail into the ground so hard that it splits the earth in half.
"I applaud your effort but you should've known better! Maybe decades ago when I taught you and you were still practicing you would've stood a chance!
But it's clear that your so called peaceful life has taken its toll on you! Victory has defeated you Hail!"

Hail flails around and tries to prick his father even a little bit but he fails miserably as his father wraps his tail around his wrists and binds them together.
As a strange fluid drips from Hails stingers his father remarks them.
"Poison huh? Despicable...
Have you become so weak that you had to steal ideas from FROST of all people?
That's it... We're leaving this dirtball and you're coming with me! I'll have to beat some sense into you for your own benefit it seems!"

But before he could say one more word Rime finds a ki blast hitting the back of his shoulder and he turns around.
Cracking your knuckles you step up and call him out.
"Hey ASSHOLE! Remember me?"

"You... I KILLED YOU! How in the name of the Destroyer are you BACK?"

"Courtesy of your son.
And now I'll return the favor by saving his hide...
Besides-"
You crack your neck.
"I still gotta pay you back for that!"

You stare your murderer down and begin to formulate how to handle him.
There is nothing in this world that'd satisfy you more than killing him.
However... Hail might have an issue with that.

First things first, you have to save Hail from that predicament of his.
Slowly opening a sneaky little portal behind you which would expand rapidly, you attempt to get behind Rime and snatch up his son before he could get hurt.
You do just that but as you slink into the wormhole you are greeted by a death beam which almost takes off your head.
Rime looks at you and wags his finger.

"I don't think so... boy."
Looks like that did not go as expected.

With a quick little change of plans you instead rush Rime in an attempt to occupy him so you can send Hail away with a portal underneath his body.
Using time-skip you close the line between you and Rime and begin wailing on him.
Unleashing every variation of your "Null Fist" moves you deliver a deadly combo right past his defenses.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53EKm1zqcBo

However when the skip ends you find the pirate reaching for you with his hand, seemingly unfazed by your effort.
You try to get away instinctively but you find his tail wrapped around your waist.
"WHAT-"

Instead of choking you like he did his son the Frost Demon instead punches you straight in the face, drawing blood from your nose.
Cockily smiling he then speaks up.
"Not bad. I actually felt that... But when you have a nearly indestructible body pain looses its meaning..."

"W-What the fuck are you?
I thought you said you aren't a fighter!"

"I'm not... I try to avoid fights as much as possible because I dislike them.
But so far I've never lost a fight I got into..."
He motions towards the girls.
"That one over there was far scarier... What do you say? Shall I kill you again and let her take over?
Maybe then you'd achieve something."

Rime then pulls his fist back and drives it into your stomach, causing you to throw up a bit.
"BLAH!"

"Ugh... disgusting.
This is why I don't like brawls. Such an ugly thing...
Clean murder is so much better."
>>
Gathering all your willpower you raise your hand.
"N-NULL LANCE!"

The blast hits Rime right in the face but it barely knocks his head backwards.
It's not that he's strong, he's roughly around the level Caulifla is around right now. But he's tenacious beyond description and he KNOWS this.
Grinning he raises his other hand while still holding you tight and he unleashes a full powered energy wave which washes over you.
Normally such a trick would leave a mark on the user as well but the Frost Demons physiology shines in such a situation.
What would be fatal damage is barely a scratch in his case.

And as the dust settles down you find your vision being a bit blurry after such a wave of force hit you square in the face.
"What a sorry sight...
But don't worry. I won't kill you. I'll just knock you out.
It'd be quite bothersome if those two snapped again!
Now then... what should I do with you? Dismemberment? Disembowelment? Wait... can you survive that-"

But before he could speak anymore a figure who stayed out of this jumps into the frey and cuts Rime with his armblades.
As you fall down Hail catches you with his tail and tosses you backwards.
Rolling on the ground you manage to recover a bit and stand up.
Wiping some soot off your face you talk to him.

"Okay... I take it back.
Your dad is quite problematic..."

"I know... I've never seen him so driven before!"

You close your eyes and think about this.

Transforming right now would most likely end up harming you in the long run.
So instead you decide to employ... something equally as destructive.
"Hail!"

"H-Huh?"

"Do you think you can occupy him?"

"I... I guess. But why?"

"Trust me. I got something that could put a dent in him but it will take a bit to prepare."

The Frost Demon hesitates for a moment before finally nodding in agreement.
"Okay. I trust you on this.
Just... Don't make me regret this."

Meanwhile Rime looks at you curiously.
"What are you two talking about?"

"Nothing... Finally the Earthling saw that he has no place being here.
So... it's just you and me now pops."

"You know Hail you should leave lying to your brother.
At least he was good at it."

"Well it matters not.
Because I'm about to end this."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ed8NYvCLAw

Assuming a fighting stance Hail charges his father with his twin blades extended.
Slashing away he spins around his axis wildly hoping to scratch his father just a little.
And luckily Rimes lack of fighting experience shows. Despite managing to get away relatively free from the storm of slashes he did receive a few little cuts, namely around his cheek.

But once he got enough of his sons antics he blew him back and swiped away the liquid that trickled down his face.
"You know... I don't even get why you bothered with poison.
You of all people should know how little it does to u-huuuu-uuuuus..."
Rime then began to stumble as he started feeling woozy.
Reaching for his head in dumb confusion he struggled to stand upright.
"H-How?"

"Finally..."
Hail dusted himself off.
"All that effort for a drop of blood. But at least it worked."

"H-How did yo-"

"What? Why do you find it odd?
After all, I had a perfectly good test subject to develop the venom on..."
Hail then looked up at you.
"HEY! EARTHLING! HE WON'T STAY DOWN FOR TOO LONG!"

"Already done!"
>>
Slamming your hands together you revealed what you've been preparing as a tear forms in space itself.
Then like the cork of a champagne bottle the immense pressure blasted apart the tiny hole until it was large enough to eclipse the sun itself.

"HEY RIME!
LET'S SEE YOU WITHSTAND THIS!
...
NULL! WORLD!"

Extending your palm you relinquish your hold on the pocket dimension filled to the brim with energy and like water from a breached den a tidalwave of raw magical power surged out and washed over the Frost Demon.
Hail was smart enough to get the hell out of dodge before it could hit him but Rime was paralyzed by the poison and so the energy washed over him.
Shouting in an attempt to keep at least some semblance of control you eventually ran out of the built up energy and promptly closed the pocket realm.

Panting you looked down at the circular hole in the ground.
"Good... fucking... riddance."

The cavern you just created looks like it was made by a massive drill.
Everyone who's present gathers around it and look down at the pitch blackness where arcs of lightning, remnants of your magic, still dance around.
Unfortunately from all that power running around it's hard to say whether Rime is dead or not.

"I'll go down..."
Hail volunteers and gently floats down after he's done gawking at this display of destructive power.
Minutes later he returns with a still breathing but unconscious Rime.

"How fucking resilient are you?!"
You ask him.

"We were built with one thing in mind: Survival.
Our bodies are capable of functioning even if we are chopped into tiny cubes."

"I call... bullshit."

"No debating that...
But blame the Kais who made us that way.
And the planet which enabled it in the first place."

"So... what now?"

"I'd like to take him away if you don't mind...
Fratricide is not on my bucket list."

"You know what? Do what you will.
But make sure he's lucked up behind every bar that exists in the universe. If he EVER comes after me, my homeworld, or the people I care for, he won't get a second chance."

He nods.
"Naturally.
I'll hand him over to the Sadala force. Supposedly they have a few black hole prisons set up.
Maybe in one of those he can finally retire like he meant to do.
And... sorry about all this. Really."

You shake your head.
"You don't have to apologize for something you didn't do.
And hey... Maybe if you're up for it I could whip you into shape so you could actually do something about him should he get back out."

"Heh... Thanks for the offer but... I don't think I got it in me.
Besides, I got a job to get back to, a life to live. Maybe in my spare time I'll try to better myself, raise my level to Daddys.
Buuuut probably not. I'd rather not have more people drawing parallels between me and Frost."

"I can see why.
Well... take care."

"Will do."

After Hail departs with his tied up father you returned to the girls who seem to have calmed down somewhat.
Kales berserker rage finally ended and Cauliflas confidence returned.
Now with both of them out of their Super Saiyan state you approach them.

Cauliflas immediate reaction is a slap in the face.
She glares daggers at you, bears her teeth and grinds them furiously.... before going in for a great big hug.
"Don't make me scared like that ever again!"

"Heh... Caulifla likes me~!"

"Ugh... there is no doubt about it. Only you can be this infuriating."

"Sorry... Really. But laughter is the best medicine.
And if nobody is willing to be the clown then I will.
Buuut... now that things have calmed down a bit I do owe you an apology... and an explanation."

"That you do..."

Thanks for running!

I wonder if Hail and Cabba might develop a rivalry for Eric’s best partner sometime in the future?
>>
>>3531765
Hah. It's nice to see our Fuck-You-Dimension came In handy when the crit-train ran dry. Which I blame entirely on Hail, by the way. What an unlucky jobber he Is.

Is that what that little line about 'nah I'm not going to train' was about? Just gonna write him out of the story Instead of him picking up the Vegeta roll Frost was supposed to take he was originally going to take?
>>
>>3532351
It might be for the best, the cast is already big enough as it is. What we should get instead is an actual, full blown Villain Arc like in the ol' days of Dragon Ball instead of what we've been getting so far. The MakaiTale Arc was the closest thing we got to that and it was just training for Frost.
>>
>>3532367
Well to be fair, that might be what this whole 'save time' thing Is leading up to. SKoT might enlist us to take action since according to some anon the time patrol can't directly Intervene or something? I never played the Xenoverse games, but It wouldn't surprise me If they used someone not from the time-patrol In-Universe to get around some sort of magical red tape or something.

Also we got a *seriously* powerful Individual to IRRESPONSIBLY promise a mortal a 'favor'.

What do you think we should do when we cash It In?

You know what I'm thinking?

I'm thinking we have her teach us to fuck with time. Yes, I mean even more than we already do.

I want to ask SKoT for a training arc, or at least a montage.
>>
>>3532396
I’m pretty sure they can intervene if someone from outside of the timeline starts fiddling with it, but they can’t alter history outside of correcting changes made by those from outside of the timeline in question, no.
>>
>>3532351
I'm gladsomeone caught one of the few little tidbits about him.
It means what you think it means. He's not a fighter like his father but unlike his father he's also not that physically impressive, sure he inherited the mutant genes but that's the extent of his fighting ability. Namek saga Frieza.

And as he stated before, he has a dayjob.
Instead of training for no reason he has to earn a living.
...
But that might change.

>>3532367
I wholeheartedly agree.
I have 2(?) scenarios worked out. Of course we'll have to see if the dice agrees with my plan.
But you've already seen the beginnings of one of them.

We'll just have to see what path you'll take.

>>3532396
Well... you could. You could ask for a lot of things.
But keep in mind she won't teach you to alter the past, that's a big nono.

And as for the time patrol their job is basically to alter any changes created by the Time Breakers specifically as EVERY other time dude (Trunks, Cell, Black, Hit) got away scott free.
My guess is unlike everyone else the Time Breakers actually CHANGE the past as opposed to creating alternate timelines.

>>3532417
That's about right.
How it basically works is the time cops go in and beat the shit out of whatever Towa or the others changed so events END as they should.
Then everything between the beginning of the changes to the end of them gets magically reset by Chronoa.

My whole idea is that Towas usual modus operandi of "Powering up Villains specifically" failed so many times she... decided to change things up a bit. Be more subtle
>>
>>3532396
I was thinking about asking for permanent access to Conton City. Then we have access to teachers, goods and training facilities from across time.

Knowing her if we ask for that we won't be able to do anything other than walk around. There is no way time loli would let scientific knowledge and arcan secrets move between timelines. I thpught of a much better use for a favor from a diety with jurisdiction over several realities. Have her use some dragon balls or something to give us the ability to create any ingredient we want instantly even if said ingredients violate the laws of physics. We will fix our relationship with 7 dimensional chicken wings and well cooked lamb continuems

It is over.

Frosts father has been taken care of and Kanassa, as well as the galaxy are safe now.
But that doesn't mean you're free. Not yet anyways. There is still a lot to unpack here... and a lot to resolve.

Looking at the girls and their rather gloomy expressions it becomes readily apparent that you NEED to make this right... somehow.
However as you're about to open your big, stupid mouth with a dumb "Ummm" someone else steps in.
One of the local fish people that the old hag apparently mimicked.

"G-Greetings strangers!"

"Oh.... hi."

"We don't know who you are or why you're here...
But we know when we are indebted to someone.
You saved our people from this grave threat. Please! Allow us to repay you in some way!
Offering our hospitality is the least we can do."

You look at the girls, searching for any signs of objection.
When you apparently find none you return to the piscine person.
"I guess we accept. Truth be told it'd be nice to sit down."

"Right this way."

The gathered crowd then proceeds to scrounge up whatever materials weren't totally wrecked by the ensuing chaos and carried it back to their villages.
Unsurprisingly the Kanassans built their homes next to large bodies of water and you can even see certain man made structures rise from the oceans.
Your host leads you in to a place and has you all sit down.

What you are treated to is... spartan at best.
Some dried algae and ordinary water. You'd call it tapwater but judging by their level of technology they probably don't have plumbing yet.... or anymore. Who knows?

"It's not much. Our people aren't what you'd call rich.
But please make sure you feel at home."

Sitting down at one of the tables you wiggle around searching for a comfortable sitting position.
You fail.

"Thank you anyway.
This... rest is very much needed."

He nods.
"We'll prepare a feast for you.
As a sign of our gratitude for saving our planet."

You look at the girls who just broke through their limits thanks to extreme emotions and grow concerned.
If you're correct then they'd eat through the planets entire ecosystem before they'd get satiated.
Instead you turn to the man and say this.

"I appreciate the gesture... but saving you was more of a happy coincidence than a conscious choice.
As such it'd be wrong for me to accept such a gift. So let's just call it even."

"I..."
A bead of sweat rolls down his forehead and he only BARELY manages to not sigh with relief.
"Thank you."

Then you take a piece of that dried kelp and give it a try.
It's... less than appealing in both taste and consistency. But you do give it a thorough chew and swallow it if only to appease your hosts.
"Errr... It's uh... nice.
You... don't eat this every day, do you?"

"We do. Why?"

Turning around to the girls you see that they find the stuff less than appealing and if a Saiyan won't eat your food then there is something wrong.
Sighing you stand up and say this.
"Okay. Let's see if I can't fix this."
Facing the man you change your mind.
"On second thought... may I have a look at those stockpiles Rime wanted to take?"

"Errr... sure?"

After the man leads you out and you take note of what's available you realize that they are keeping these nutrient rich ingredients for less than ideal times and mostly subside on that kelp they provided you.
It's... not the best thing you've seen. Obviously a measure born out of desperation.
But it's not unsalvageable.

You take a handful of the stuff with you and... get to work.

Since they don't have a proper area for preparing meals you have to improvise.
Blasting a small hole in the ground you make a proper fire and gather some rudimentary cookware that these people use.
The makeshift outside kitchen you cobbled together is... less than ideal but more than serviceable.
Getting to work you recall and draw inspiration from a specific thing: The senzu bean.
>>
A singular bean capable of not only healing injuries but also provide a person with the nutritional equivalent of several meals.
Of course you don't know how the fuck that works, probably magic. But the knowledge that it exists is enough.
You go from that idea and slowly try to reverse engineer it in the culinary sense.
But given your limited resources you wouldn't experiment recklessly.
So you decide to only attempt it once you're certain it'll work.

After the idea forms in your head you get to it and pick some ingredients which seem to have more calories in them than most.
Grinding, working and processing them until you get a fine powder you combine them with various liquids to form a sort of dough which you then fill with bits of fish and vegetables high in protein.

Throughout the whole process you make sure to pour in and incorporate as much of your natural energy as possible in addition to your heart and soul.
The end result is something... less supernatural than the Senzu but close enough to it that you can use and expand upon it in the future.

You take this freshly baked loaf of bread brimming with energy and split it between the four of you, giving an equal share to each person at the table.
The fishman gives it a sniff first, not sure what to make of it while the girls simply dig in.
But eventually he gives it a try and finds it unbelievable.

"H-How did you-"

You shrug.
"Experienc mostly."

"This is incredible!
With this we... we could feed entire villages with less than a tenth of the ingredients!"

"If you'd like I could teach you how to make it.
It won't outright save your people from starvation but it should be enough so you can stockpile food for more desperate times."

You take a piece of paper and write down a very detailed recipe before handing it back to him.
He takes it with shaking hands before reading it and promptly running out cackling with glee, calling for his fellow kin to take a look at that shit.

This leaves you alone with the two girls who are quietly nibbling on the baked goodness you provided.
It's fairly obvious that there is plenty of tension in the air right now which is mixed with a variety of other emotions.
A jumbled mess which is in desperate need of fixing.

>>
>>3542064

I guess what we can do to start off right now is just to explain that this couldn't have been easy on them and that we're sorry for putting them through it. We can try to explain why we did it too. But we can't do much more than that until they tell us how they feel.

I guess we should try less to justify why we did it and more try to understand how they feel about it.

Oh right support.
>>
You sit down, not next to them bot on the other side of the table and face them.
For the first few seconds you remain silent, quietly contemplating how to do this.
But there is not much point in tip-toeing around the issue. It'd be best to get it over with, like ripping off a a bandaid.

However instead of starting to explain your position the first thing you do is inquire them about theirs.
"So... about all that-"
They look up from whatever they were doing.
"I am... sorry. For putting you through that.
I can't even begin to imagine how you felt there. It must've been horrible."

"That's the understatement of the century!"

"S-Sis!"

"Shut up Kale!"
Caulifla hisses at the girl next to her before returning to you.
"Do you have any idea how that felt? When we were up there?!
Kale went MAD just from feeling you pass away! And I... And I!"
Tears swelling under her eye from anger Caulifla struggles to continue.
"I HELD YOU IN MY ARMS DAMIT! YOU WERE DEAD!"

Realizing your mistake you stand up and walk over to her.
Slowly and carefully you kneel down next to her and pull her in close. At first she repeatedly smashes her fist into your chest while calling you a variety of things, none of which are pretty.
But once her anger subsides all that's left is sadness.

Cauliflas voice keeps cracking as she buries her face in your chest and cries.
Meanwhile you stroke her hair and attempt to calm her down.
This goes on for several minutes before she manages to compose herself and pushes you away.
But rather than continuing the conversation she stands up and walks over to the door and stares out of it, not wanting to talk.
>>
But as she does so your heart feels heavy.
She's clearly angry... or rather scared. Maybe not even at you but just because of the general situation and she needs to vent it somehow.
You understand her you really do but it still hurts you immensely. Because it feels like you let her down.

Turning slowly to Kale you meekly ask her as well.
"And you... Kale? Do you feel angry?"

She hesitates, not knowing what to say or even how she herself feels.
But eventually she just shakes her head and instead of crying loudly she just snivels once and wipes her eyes clean.
"No... I'm just glad you're okay...
It was... scary. Really scary. And I'm sure Sis also feels the same way.
But she was never scared before so... please don't be mad at her!"

You place a hand on her shoulder, look down and solemnly shake your head before hugging her.
"I'd never be mad at either of you."

As you part with Kale however you must admit that you ARE in fact mad at someone... yourself.
And it's readily apparent that you have to fix this somehow. Earn their trust somehow.

"There is... something you should know."
Suddenly both of them stop what they are doing and look at you.
"I don't know how to say this because even I'm not sure what the hell happened.
But this was all a set-up."

"Whaddaya mean?"

"That old hag that brought us here in the first place?
There was something fishy about her. Pardon my pun.
I kept getting this ominous vibe from her all the time but then a guy popped up out of nowhere who started accusing her.
Naturally they kept pointing fingers at each other so I decided to read their minds to see what was going on.
And couldn't do it to either of them."

"Huh?"

"Yeah.
So I did the only logical thing and attacked both to see how they react.
I knocked the guy out but the... witch... she disappeared. Left with an ominous message.
Apparently she wanted us to come and kill Rime for her."

"B-But why?"
Kale asks.

"This is the crazy part...
I talked with the remaining guy and he... he claimed he was from the future."

"What?"

"I know. I was skeptical at first but... then things started to make too much sense.
He gave me a pretty accurate rundown on how meeting Rime would go, gave an explanation why the witch brought me here, why she wanted only me to come... and what I'd need to do to screw with her plans.
You see-"
You start scratching the back of your neck.
"I... had to die."

"Y-You mean-"

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah... I understand how that sounds.
But I was assured that I'd be brought back and... well I was.
That is why Rime killed me so easily... because I let him."

"I don't believe you!"
Caulifla roars at you.

"I know but please... just listen to what I have to say.
Afterwards you can punch me into the ground or whatever just... let me finish.
I was an ass... I didn't think about how you'd feel, honestly I didn't realize it'd hurt you so much.
Well... because I didn't think I was worth that much. But after I saw what happened to you, how you felt... I realized what an asshole I was. And you're right to hate me for it.
I... never cared much about my life even before humanity died. But now I realize how selfish I was.
How it's not only about me but you as well."
Then you stand up with your fists clenched.
"So... for what it's worth I swear that nothing like this will ever happen again! That I'll fight tooth and nail against anyone and anything that'd want me dead!
Because I don't want you to feel like that ever again!"
>>
>>3542314
I see we've finally hit Brazilian soap opera.

>So... for what it's worth I swear that nothing like this will ever happen again!
We can't promise this. We may need to do shit like this again. Hell, we may need to pull a Goku and we know Dragon Ball has a revolving door afterlife. Promising something like this is stupid.
>>
"And... if it's possible... if you'd be willing, I'd like to make it up to you.
Not sure how yet. I mean I'd have to come up with something sufficient for the damage I caused... but I'd still like to do it.
So... I guess what I want to ask is: Will you forgive me?"

They both remain silent for a while with Kale being the first to speak up.
"I... I don't care Eric...
You came back. That's all that matters!"

Caulifla on the other hand is not that forgiving.
"No!"

"I... understand."
With your head firmly lowered you admit defeat...
Only to find Caulifla rapidly closing the distance between the two of you and hitting you straight in the liver with all her might.
"OOF! Gonna whiz red!"

"Now I forgive you.
But remember if you make me worried AGAIN I'll resurrect you just so I can kill you personally!"
She says with her fist still clenched.
"You had the balls to make me care about you! So if you scare me like that again I WON'T forgive you!
Understand?"

"Uh-huh!"
You nod diligently through the pain.

"Good."
Caulifla then stretches her arms a bit and groans with satisfaction.
"Okay my tummy is nice and full and I worked some of that stress out.
What do you say Kale? Shall we get some rest before going home?"

"I'd like that."

You raise your hand.
"M-Me too-"

"Nobody asked you!
Now groan a bit more!"

"Okay..."

Shortly after that your host has returned after informing his people of the gift he received and he was more than happy to provide you with a roof over your heads.
The girls received their own room and you were given one as well.
But as the sun slowly set and only the light of distant stars illuminated your room dreams still eluded you.
Lost in thought about the events that transpired your mind raced with the possibilities of the situation.

Only after several hours of contemplation did you manage to fall asleep out of sheer exhaustion. However you did not receive any respite in your dreams, far from it.
You awakened in a dark, dreary place which eerily resembled your own mindscape only... different.

In front of you stood two paths, one straight and laid with bricks of golden light and the other crooked with spiraling, mad roads of dark and red color.
Both seemed to be... inviting. Or more accurately, attracting you.
But their pull was equally strong so neither could overthrow the other.

Instead of doing anything you sit down.
You've had it with people trying to move you around like a chess piece.

"Alright! No way assholes!
If you want to do this then you bring that shit to me!
This is MY Mind, My Soul, and if this latest weirdness is happening it's happening on My Terms!"

You eagerly await a response but nothing happens.
Whatever is going on does not allow these outside forces to communicate, you even begin to doubt if they heard you.
However something DOES start happening. As the mysterious force behind each path begins to stir, vying for control over the situation.
You feel the pull of both as if they are trying to drag you down their specific paths, competing with the other one.
But both powers are equally matched and neither can overcome the other.

Meanwhile you sit comfortably in your little mindscape, trying to test the limits of your influence over the place, maybe you could use the experience to make Buu some stuff later.
Conjuring a sunbed you lay back and await which one will overwhelm the other. Hopefully they'll tire each other and give up.
Unfortunately that doesn't seem to happen as one of the parties clearly looses its patience and you feel... a presence entering the place.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkgSOy-S-eU

You hear footsteps ascending the path, as if a woman in high heels is walking up on them.
Raising your ephemeral sunglasses you look at the blue woman in red spandex as she slowly approaches your little patio.
"You really are stubborn... infuriatingly so."

Pushing your glasses back down you cross your arms.
"I am not the one who keeps intruding on your life!
Nice outfit by the way "old lady". What? Did they mix up your laundry with a strippers?"

"Very funny."
She points her staff at you.
"However I'd like if you stood up. I came to have a serious conversation."

An army of ghastly chains appears around the demonic looking woman and entangle her.
"No... You came here because I refuse to play your games any longer.
And now that you're in MY house you play by MY rules! Understand?"

The chains shatter as her staff glows.
"Maybe that'd be correct under normal circumstances.
However don't underestimate the powers of a sorceress."

It seems unlike Buu she is perfectly capable of fighting back against you here.
What a bother.

"So... mind introducing yourself Ms Underboob?
Or better yet... explain what the fuck you want? Preferably before I get up from this chair... for your sake of course."
Then you extend your hand.
"And I told you... this is MY house! So SIT DOWN!"

She dodges the force wave you send out via some sort of teleportation. Not sure how she did that. But it's evident that this demon is a far better magic user than any you've dealt with before.
"Poor boy... I influence the minds of those far above your level. But you think you pose a challenge to me? Cute.
But to entertain you I'll give you my name... It's Towa."

"So Towa.
What brings you here?"

"I attempted to make contact with you when you dreamt... unfortunately someone else had the same idea."

"So two idiots got stuck in the door because they couldn't wait for the other."

She seems to frown at that.
"Tell me... what person would bother with politeness in a competition?
First come first served as they say... Anything under first position is a loss at that point.
Luckily for me I have the luxury of the... direct approach."

You nod repeatedly.
"Okay. I see now.
So if the mountain doesn't come to you, you go to the mountain."
Then you spread your arm.
"Well what is it? Because thanks to you I got into a rather shit situation and I'd love nothing more than to sic my roommate on you right now."

She raises her hand in protest.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"Ooooh I don't doubt that but-"

"And what if I told you that you weren't only deceived by me?"

"...
Go on."

"Now just hear me out my friend...
When did I want to do any harm to you specifically?"

"I don't know. Maybe when you manipulated me?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHG5aIEdO50

"For your benefit.
I assure you the changing of the timeline wouldn't have affected you negatively.
In fact killing Rime would've spared you from much suffering."

"And the only price would've been the stability of the timeline...
Somehow that doesn't seem like a fair trade for me as much as it benefits me."

"Oh? Is that what she said to you? The Supreme Kai of Time?"

"Hmmm?"

"That is precious. And I'm not insulting you this time, but her."
She closes her eyes for a moment in contemplation before opening them.
"I won't tell you much... because I'm not trying to convince you. Unlike most of the mouth breathers in the multiverse you seem to be capable of drawing your own conclusions.
So I'll just say this: Do you really believe her intention is the safe keeping of the timeline?"

"If she IS the Supreme Kai of Time like you said then... duh!"

"Then if you truly believe that... Please ask this from her for me...
Why did she let a time traveler change the course of history? Why did she let my brother die when he should've lived?"

"Wait... what?"

Giggling softly she strokes her staff.
"We'll meet again... and I'll eagerly await your answer little human!
Ciao!"

>>3542523
He could have wrote it better to fit how Eric has been portrayed, even if he has a soft spot for the girls. Also, I don't think I was so volatile about it, it read like highschool/soap opera drama. Which is something not-som said he'd avoid.

Yep, more Time Bullshit, I'ma just make it clear to the players at large here. I despise this time bullshit. Towa, SKoT, I don't care I hate the very subject matter.

If either of them tries to fuck with our timeline, or anything else, I'm going to vote we kill the offender, and send their head back in box.
>>
>>3542544
They've both already attempted to fuck with our timeline. Towa fucked around, making us encounter Rime early in an advantageous situation and the SKoT in a hastily patched fix.

Quite frankly I want to learn from them both so I can use their techniques against them. If SKoT has something to teach us and we can learn anything from Towa then It will simply make dealing with them easier.

It Is wise to trust Towa? Or perhaps even SKoT? No, but we should get while the getting's good and stop BOTH of them from Interfering so we can go about our own lives without this tug-of-war bullshit going on.
>>
Rolled 4 (1d21)

rolling because our rolls suck
>>
>>3542569
I'd rather work with the SKoT then Towa. Eric already knows she's easily flustered and will give out favors. We also have an idea where we stand with her.
Towa's shown herself to be a manipulative unknown.
>>
>>3542569

Given how we're Champa's subordinate, that places us in an awkward spot. SKoT appears to have to kiss major ass whenever a God of Destruction rolls around, so we have some leverage over her if she tries to have us do some more outrageous-sounding shit.

Vados might also be able to tell us extensively about the Time Patrol too, given how Whis seems to know stuff on in Xenoverse.
>>
>>3542578
I agree with this mostly. While SKoT can be a bit overbearing there is a general timeline that we are supposed to follow and deviating from that too much would probably be a mistake given our alignment with Champa and Vados. Towa on the other hand is more then happy to use us as a pawn. She is doing so this entire conversation. Sowing doubt, complimenting us while insulting the other side, testing to see if there is a specific nerve she can touch to make us uncomfortable and second guess our actions. One is a coworker(Who allowed Trunks going back in time to become the cannon timeline because was more Ideal) of our friend/boss and the other is from the realm of deceit, chaos, and betrayal.
>>
>>3542569
This in all honesty. Get powerful enough to be able to tell them both to leave us alone. Maybe, juuuiist maybe we'll do a thing or two for a favor
>>
>>3542569
Honestly, I’d rather just avoid interacting with either of them altogether. We might go into it just looking to learn techniques or whatever, but getting involved in time shit outside of when it literally lands on your doorstep like it just did is basically guaranteed to make sure you’ll get involved in even more of it. Next thing you know we’ll be fighting GT Goku or some edgy new Saiyan OC. Besides, we haven’t exactly got a lot of reason to trust either Towa or the SKoT. Towa is a demon, which our opinion of at this point is....less then stellar. We’d probably trust her about as far as we could...well, we could probably throw her pretty far actually, but you know what I mean. And the SKoT, while seemingly having been more up front about things, is still pretty irritatingly obtuse. Plus our track record with Kais and gods and shit isn’t exactly great either. Champa, while a softie past his grumpy exterior, is the exact opposite of what I’d label “Competent”. Beerus is just anorexic Champa, and Sidra has all the spine of a sea anemone. Our Supreme Kai is...shady, and Sidra’s was a complete jackass. Really, the only divine figures that have made a decent impression on us are Vados and Whis, and Whis only by virtue of having made little to no impression at all.
