Surprisingly, Hellenic ships are no match for a steam powered ship of the line armed with 80 cannons firing explosive shells. After having Quartered their fleet, their esteemed Grand Admiral Adaros came to you with a deal. Help Tyrosh to fuck up Myr and he will make sure that the Magisters will pay you handsomely.Naturally, you agreed. Myr was in possession of Westerosi slaves as well and thus free game and you had the ammunition to go fuck them up, also this could help foster some goodwill with the Tyroshi after you shat on their porridge. As agreed upon, you disabled the harbor of a Myrish island fortress by sinking all the ships they had docked before beginning an embargo upon the City of Myr. Unlike the Tyroshi, they weren't planning on underestimating you. They brought to bear over twice their number, a six hundred ships, third of which were mercenaries. Their idea of dealing with you was intending on intimidating you to work for them instead. This naturally didn't work out too well for them considering your previous success. As the Mercenaries broke ranks and fled under the hail of explosive shells, the Myrish gave up, not wanting to sacrifice the lives of their citizens to the meatgrinder nor wanting you to continue to embargo their port.Following this, you declared war upon Lys as well just because, since hey, the two other ones fell easily, why not a third one? Unfortunately, they weren't exactly up for a fight. They instead offered to pay to make you go away. Considering there was little sport in shooting an enemy that wouldn't fight back, you took their lunch money and started heading back west, counting your plunder to be worth 500 000 Gold Dragons and whatever the two Valyrian Steel blades you possessed were worth. After splitting the plunder with Jorah Mormont, you set sail to King's Landing and were greeted by a vast crowds of people gathering at the shores to have a glimpse of your quite unusual looking ship. As landed, it was revealed that your presence was requested at the Red Keep. The Hand of the King, Jon Arryn wanted a word with you. After a private chat, he offered you a deal. Your landless brother Rickar would receive a landed title and you show your support to Robert Baratheon publicly, levying your fame to give legitimacy to his cause. Seeing that you didn't exactly give a damn about the Targs or loyalists, you accepted.
>I got non-compete[ 1 ]"I'm afraid I kinda made a deal with the Manderlys which prevents me from competing with him on ship production. If you want some of the ships I've designed, you will have to talk to him. You see, the Hammer of the Waters wasn't exactly cheap and I needed a lot of money for all the Iron I was going to cast."He shakes his head in disappointment"I see. That is indeed a shame, but Wyman Manderly is a loyal servant of the realm, he could be convinced to tear up such contract if I were to request it.""He could, but I don't think that'd be very honorable on my part. If it's all the same to you, we could put my brother as a landed Knight under Stannis on some of the Dragonstone's domains. Maybe an island if you've got one of those to give. I'll make sure he's got some guns and powder around in case the Royal Fleet needs to throw some lead in the air."He observes you for a moment before nodding"Very well Lord Tallon. That sounds like a reasonable enough course of action."You nod in agreement"Naturally, this hinges on my brother actually accepting the title, but I see no reason as to why he'd say no."The two of you shake hands"Then you should go tell him. I'll let the small council know of the coming faire, in the meantime. I trust you will send message to your lands and tell them to ship such goods which would be necessary for the coming occasion. Invite your friends and family as well.""I'll go do that then. Have a good day Lord Arryn."You close the door behind you as you leaveTwo Months you would be spending, preparing for the faire. The Tallons of Reach, now a guest of the Royal family had naturally arrived to celebrate this... unusual occasion. Only your older brother was left behind to manage the holdings as it was considered dangerous for too many of the dynasty to travel at once. Your mother, your sister (along with her husband) and your father had all arrived to bear witness to your return."Is it true? Did you really?"Your father asks"Defeat a damn near thousand ships with but a one and return with half a million in gold, silks, perfume, rugs, tapestries and anything of worth a damn that the Free Cities produce, paired with forcing them to acknowledge freedom as a Westerosi birthright? Yes, yes we did."Rickar puffs out his chest as he responds"How? How is that even possible?"Your mother asks"Ask Arthur, he's the one who made the monster of a ship."He points to you"I mentioned before, the Long Night was a courier ship, not a full on warship. The Hammer of the Waters on the other hands, is a Warship."
[ 2 ]Rickar then begins to excitedly talk of his part in the wars"Oh, you should have seen it father, a horizon filled with ships, the wailing of the siren echoing through the air interrupted only by the thunder of guns and the steady thrumming of the ship's fiery heart, the screeching of missiles in the air and the creaking of wood when the prows of enemy ships blossomed into shrapnel and smoke, eating in water like a force fed swan one after another as we tore apart fleet after fleet and finally, when the enemy commander saw defeat, that horizon of ships struck their colors in unison."He closes his eyes and draws a deep breath"We turned down the siren just to hear the sound of their retreat horns. It was the most glorious sight I've seen in my life. Foe shattered, utterly and completely before our righteous crusade."You clap your hands"Oh, that reminds me! Since you're technically an officer, you're also getting a full officer's share from the plunder. What was it again 1600 or so? 1607 Gold dragons? Something like that. Anyway, that'll come in use when the King's gonna give you a landed title.""Excuse me?""Yea, so basically that's what the hand wanted to talk to me about when we arrived.""What.""Essentially, I'll throw this party in honor of King Robert Baratheon because he's such a good bloke and use my newfound fame to help solidify his claim. He then gets Rickar his own Island in Blackwater Bay and anoints him as a landed Knight in service to Prince Stannis. Naturally you need to actually say yes for this to happen, but either way, I'm still down to throwing this Faire whichever way the wind blows. I can afford it.""And you couldn't have told me this before?""It never really came up until now. Besides, I kinda wanted you to have some people to ask advice from before committing to anything.""You couldn't mention this in a letter?"Your mother asks"Well, I couldn't think of any eunuch jokes and I didn't want to disappoint Lord Varys when he'd eventually read through my letters.""Very funny Arthur. But regardless, this is a good thing for us and for you Rickar. After this stupid stunt Arthur dragged you through"She gives you a glare "...and the landed title in Crownlands, there should be little problem with finding you a beautiful wife from a good family, and Arthur...""Yes?""Thanks your bout of insanity, I now have to cancel all the marriage meetings I had planned for you. Don't think we won't be talking about this later. Preferably where we won't be listened in."
[ 3 ]"Right, so Red Keep is out of the window then, Maegor's tunnels are very well still in use and it's safe to assume every servant's taking tips from at least one other person in this place." She shakes her head and sighs"OH! You know how Lannisters don't have any Valyrian Steel weapons of their own despite being a massive house with ton of money and prestige and all that?""You didn't...""OH YES I DID! HAHAAA!"You pull out your sword and dagger"Two-prefall blades made around the time of the fall of Ghis.""Can I...?"Your father asks"Sure, have a swing, that's what they're made for."He gives it a swing"It's lighter than normal steel blade of same size.""It actually isn't. I weighed it, got it's volume and calculated it's density. It's actually more or less similar density to steel, but when you actually take it to your hand, that doesn't at all feel like it is. There's some fuckery going on about them blades."He raises his eyebrow and gives the sword another another swing"Mysteries of Valyrian spellforging. Well, nevertheless it is a sword fit for a king. You should hold on to it.""Oh I do intend to. It is not every day one has a chance to study such a strange item."He hands it over for the rest of the family to look at before return it back to you"Can we see inside your ship?"Ayenna asks"I don't see why not. Somebody's spies likely have already had a gander, but it's not like that matters. The Smiths and shipwrights in this city are shite, and I doubt that even the Citadel would have difficulties with replicating my works.""I think you've just got unrealistic standards.""Well, I think the craftsmen in this city tend to have little to no standards, but whatever, I'll give you a tour.">How much money do you wanna put into the Faire?>Minimum budget 1000G
>>3555750Lets make it 3000G and not go too overboard.
>>3555750Let's put 222900g into the faire.
>>35557505000G imho should do it.We need it to be fucking great.I would be willing to go for more but i think that more would just be a waste...
>>3555750How about 5000 gold? Really anything under 10k is fine though i do not want to go too overboard
>>35557505-7000 ish seems reasonable.
>Two Months you would be spending, preparing for the faire.Shame KL is a terrible place to run a Triumph
>>3555750any price range things?
>>3555764Unfortunately, a triumph can only be held in the capital as it is based in the roman ceremony. Basically anyone holding a roman military position was not really allowed to enter the borders of Rome, except during triumph or by forfeiting their position.
>>3555750>10000GImagine the popularity, we need to strike while the iron is hot!
>>35557504000 Gold Dragons.
>>3555750>faire budget 5000gd.
Can we get an idea of what effects the money we put into this would have on the fair?
>>3555817Actually, this.Let's hear what we can get for our gold before we start quoting numbers.
>>35557505000G splash around some dosh
>>3555750>Budget 5k for farieAnd is our treasure calculated with out brothers share removed?
Grand tournament takes like 10 Wealth to sponsor + 5 wealth for every contest prizeRegional tournament takes like 5 wealth + 2 wealth for each contestlocal ones are like 2 wealth + 2 for each contest1 Wealth is still 200GSo basically, going 5000G means 25 wealth on festivities, makes it a pretty huge affair with like beer fountains, flower petals and fireworks and shit. You can have a marching band too with that money.
>>3555755changing to 5k
Should be noted that because this is KL, you obviously can't handle everyone at once with like 5k, but it's still a 1 050 000 silver stag budget, which does still get you a lot of stuff.
>>3555864>>3555871Okay, then.Keeping my vote from here: >>3555816
>>3555756This>>3555864Describe to me the 200k festival.
>>3555750I'mma go ahead and say 20k

QM is saying 10k is enough for Triumph (see Rome). Wanna go for it lads?
10k show Bobby b how a conqueror parties
>>3555991Bobby B will be with us in the carriage if we throw the Triumph, apparently. With the royal carriage, no less. Remember, this is as much for them as it is for us, since they want to show the rest of the lords (especially Dorne and other TargLoyalists) that the Tallons are with the Crown. This is 100% for publicity.
>>3555933The hybrid of oktoberfest , burning man and a medieval fuck feast
>>3555986i'm in
>>3555986You have my sword
>>3555986Fucking hell let’s do this shit.
>>3555997I would say yes if the crown would agree to aid us in paying for the event. Like if they would give one gp for every three we put into it.
>>3555986It's no 200k but it'll do.Switch.
> mfw we created tallon feast
>>3555997>>3555991>>3555986it also increases time if it is a more complex affair.so if we can have all the admin stuff done by somone elsewe can go full grind marksmanship at the target range to try and get marksmanship 5 so we can enter our shooting competition, win and then let the runner ups have the prizes as if we were not involved, so we can get even more prestige, honor and glory, in being the best shot around.
>>3556032The Crown is already doing its part by arranging security for the madness that is about to be unleashed, as well as connecting us with the appropriate vendors. Unless you would like to split the security duties 50-50 as well?
>>3556040Yeah if we're gonna do a marksmanship contest, I'm open to spending the time productively (while foisting the party arrangement to Robert's Party Minister). Just need to specify what we want, hand in the cash, and then let the professionals make magic. The marksmanship competition can also show off the power of gunpowder weapons.
>>3556050We need 5 times the amount of beer to drown the city Also is the party a single day or multiple days On activities: beer drinking, food competition , dance , marksmanship with a bow and a rifle , getting hammered, whoring, dueling with wooden swords , fireworks Open to ideas
>>3556057Multiple days with 10k, I think? It'll be a big occasion. Remember, 10k gold is like 50 Wealth and Grand Tournaments are 10 Wealth to sponsor (prize is additional fee). That might help think about the scale of it all.
>>3555986sign me right the fuck up
>>3556057And drinks from all places ( from arbor red to dornish gold) and of course beer and mead Our plan is to make the most awesome party in all time
>>3555986Fucking do it.
> our target
>>3556050*cough* Robert’s Party minister is Baelish....
>>3556072additional fun fact, their stocks of vodka were at a all time low...
>>3556085I was thinking our brother would be good. He had training in how to organize ceremonies and festivals as a future septon. Also, put him to good
>>3556088a low stock of vodka in Russia is still a shit load of vodka
>>3555825>>3555750Switching to 10k ROMA INVICTA
Since this will be such a big affair, it seems your lads will be needing uniforms. Don't worry, they will pay for them from their own pockets.
I really hope all the useless waste of space in KL don’t get it into their heads to corrupt our men while we are here, or steal our stuff. As a matter of fact, we may want to tell our men to avoid Brothel, at least.
>>3556149yeah full redcoat or if some anon has a better idea
>>3556149Need a good military song as well :P
>>3556157over the hill and far away or the grenadier pipe?
>>3556164Was thinking more along March of the Templars :P
>>3556155We ourselves should dress up as Sharpe, the inquisitor look is old news.Look how handsome Eddard is.
>>3556173we need a ceremonial cuirasse.
>>3556173I genuinely support this 100%. Also that show is the shit.
>>3556173I'd be down for this. Nice to change it up.
>>3556155You don't exactly have red in your heraldry, so it's a bit weird in that sense. However, rifle regiments often wore green and there's also Russian uniforms which also were often green and had double headed eagle as well.Ultimately, you can pick the redcoat uniform as well and recolor it if you like too, but it won't be very red.
>>3555745>"Thanks your bout of insanity, I now have to cancel all the marriage meetings I had planned for youI still think we should call ourselves the Mad Lord of Port Maw.
>>3556263yeah but singing Britannia rule the waves is a damm good choice for the parade >Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
>>3556263Does Westeros run off of TF2 rules? Because, by god I want our boys to have the biggest, fanciest, most impressive fucking hats in the kingdom.
>>3556039>Inb4 this party is so great A drunk Bobby B marks it as a national holiday
>>3556289Tyroshi are the ones most obsessed with hats, but are hundreds of years ahead of them in hat based sciences.
>>3556263So like one of these fine lads would be in line?
>>3556263And we shall be wearing the god emperor's glorious commissariat uniform with a green sash I presume?
>>3556325So what you're saying is we need to conquer Tyrosh again, this time to take their hat based sciences and use it to advance our own?
>>3556351I want to wear Sharpe's outfit40k outfit has gone on for too long.
once we get into our land and raise another regiment and train this one let's make them into gentleman soldiers
>>3556376imagine the smallfolk get raped and looted when armies passed there village but lord Tallon gentleman soldiers are a proper gentleman
>>3556376Pay them, they’ll loot a lot less if you ask them.
>>3556368
>>3556400I mean proper English level gentlemangreased mustache, proper respect for woman, a "white" knight style mind (ie the need to protect a lady ( stuff that noble-born in the reach do ))
>>3556415It's a good idea, but by gods man, we'd go broke affording all that mustache grease.
>>3556415Our guys are From the North, not sure they will humour us this far.But getting them to behave ok is probably fine.
>>3556173>>3556368>>3556414Support for the Sharpe look. Great show and aesthetic af. Now we just need a Harper to bro it up with.
>>3556576A great show and a great look I can certainly get behind it
>>3556173That’s gotta be a super fucking old show for Sean Bean to look that young. Also voting against this shit. It looks good, but it just doesn’t fit Arthur.
>>3556173No. Just no.
>>3556721>>3556726One post faggots with shit taste.

>>3556736I guarantee you are a nigger
>>3556736>shitty British shownow that is a bridge to far sir it is a fantastic show
>>3556730That anon has better tastes than you. That outfit might be nice for a solo chacters but it fails in numbers. Plus it's pretty gay.
>>3556772I'm pretty sure we want Sharpe's outfit for ourselves and use a different outfit for the soldiers.
>>3556810Prussian aristocracy is pretty cool
If the northen or the dragnstone cadet houses from the tallon need a house words we can use On wings of hope OrLuck favors the bold
>>3556783Nobody wants Sharpe’s outfit for anyone. Shits stupid as fuck

I thought we were all set on the 40k commissar style clothing for ourselves?
>>3556926Then we get some new Commissars outfits. Not some retarded faggot British shit.

>>3556810>going for pickelhaube out of all possible headgear options
Wew, stinks of summer in here.
>>3556173Supporting the Sharpe Style if it's just for us. Our subordinates can wear tech priest garbs.
Also I was looking back in the old threads trying to find precisely what our Commissar's uniform looked like, just to see if that'd help settle our discussion by reminding people (link below), when I re-read the options for when we were first constructing the LN and were providing our specifications. We went for the largest option, however the next one down was described as being more suited for cargo thanks to it's reduced complement of guns (20 -> 16) and crew. This interests me and I think we'd be wise to develop it or it's like, a more cargo focused version of our light ship. I'd also be interested in developing the lightest of the three sizes of the ship that were on offer, a 12 gunner that was the fastest of the lot but carried little cargo or crew.Fact is in this life or our next life, we could make a killing selling these designs to a shipyard owner or producing them ourselves. Plus they'll be good experience in refining our shipbuilding skills for if we ever attempt to improve our existing designs. Not to mention they might be good as a dowry for Manderly.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2342456/thumbs/1520518353694.jpg <- The image OP used in his post where we got the uniform, it'd honestly work fine for this parade if we changed the red and blue to green (assuming that is what our troops will be wearing).
>>3557566You wouldn't have used red and black, just saying. Them's Targaryen colours.
Also, big issue selling those designs in next life is that the value of a product us how much the buyer is willing to pay for it.These designs are way ahead of their time and only are taken seriously because of the track record they have and because you are a defacto Maester. In a timeline where that isn't the case, the paper itself is worth more than the designs.
>>3557577Could we make Maximilian plate armor, or late gothic plate armor? That stuff is definitely more advanced, protective, and flexible than anything available in westeros.
>>3557607You can make such a suit, but meticulously tailored armor like that exists in my Westeros, but it is fabulously expensive, which is why they are rarely made.It is entirely within possibility for the best smiths to manufacture a suit of plate that is utterly impervious to arrow fire and has no gaps large enough for the arrows to exploit, save in the eyeslits without hindering the wearer's ability to move around much.
>>3557569Fair enough I was just going by the image. Personally I'd use a golden sash instead of green but still I've got little investment in our personal appearance since I kinda want to dress up like a byzantine noble or something.>>3557577>Also, big issue selling those designs in next life is that the value of a product us how much the buyer is willing to pay for it.Yeah I get that a large portion of their value comes from our reputation and education but to be fair, I'd imagine we'll find a way to get our chain in almost every life now we're as educated as we are.Still though, they'd be very profitable to produce or sell on as a design. Fact is the lightest of those models would be a far more reasonable cost for a lord to invest in a single ship than our larger designs given the cannons and shit.
>>3557648Citadel does actually look at your birth when you take your exams, just a fair warning. You might get fewer chains if you aren't at least a bastard.
Do you people want to take sam tarly as a squire/ ward and make him into a mini me
>>3557667>Citadel does actually look at your birth when you take your exams, just a fair warning.True but we can just take more exams. Admittedly it costs money to do so but not a unreasonable amount assuming we make some smart plays.>You might get fewer chains if you aren't at least a bastard.Yeah I know, they have a faulty eugenicist world view.
Is that next update Almost ready?
Do we have the knowledge to smith a kentucky rifle style firearm? We can always apprentice to a smith, bide our time til we’re alone in the shop, and build a proof of concept to blow some holes in plate armor with at 100+ meters. That would probably get us some credibility relatively fast.
Here is my suggestion for a new>Outfit

Looks like you are gonna be going for a pretty big party.Lot of people will be showing up for this one.In fact, since they're so many people showing up, it's actually within reason for you to make deals with a lot of them in order to convert your plunder to tangible assets. The whole shopping trip might even end up being unnecessary.
>>3557819>The whole shopping trip might even end up being unnecessary. All I am hearing is that we should've done more crusading, we'll start round two after this brief half-time show.

>>3558545That is absolutely glorious

>>3558545Not bad, I like it.Those shoulder pad look a bit weird though?
>>3558545Yeah that looks pretty good.Have we decided what our boys going to wear?
How about a proper knightly outfit for the officers?
>>3558917Seems a little much if ya want how about something like this.
>>3558917this is cool but I don't think we can make it in time to the partyif we can let's do it
>>3558930This looks good to me.
>>3558930It might be kinda a lot of armor for everyone but if we do intend to knight the ship officers it might be wise to give them outfits to separate them from the common shiphands.
We seriously gotta invent the Bessemer process for steelmaking. If you use it without knowing what you’re doing, the steel will be of extremely poor quality, which makes industrial espionage nearly impossible and would set us up to control the military economy of the seven kingdoms and beyond.
>>3558864There's a reason /tg/ was said to also stand for /totally gay/ and this isn't the reason. On the point of our troops, I've been wanting to make our infantry / musketmen a nicely standardised mix of plate and mail along the lines of >>3558930's image. I'd argue our troops should probably have a higher collar on the curiass or some chainmail over the neck and some protection for their upper leg but overall it looks good.I also keep second guessing if we should give our musketmen any melee weapons and shields or just give them a bayonet / entrenching tools.>>3559008Yep. Especially in combination with industrial metalworking tools to enable good armour or weapon production.
>>3559015Probably unnecessary. You could do things like equip them with wheeled pavise shields or pair them with units of pikemen, but odds are the soldiers superior firepower will deal with anything before they become a problem. And if firepower isn't enough the addition of trenches and other field fortifications would make up the difference.
>>3558917That is insanely cool, no way in hell we could get even one of those ready on time but still I love the look. Speaking of which, since we don't need to manage our keep on a daily basis due to our small council of well educated maesters, we should really take some time on the side to make some really good personal armor. Mostly just to have it, but on the off chance we do end up at war on land, having some masterwork armor we personally made would always be handy. Don't get me wrong, I like our comissar outfit but that's really for sailing and the meme of it. It doesn't beat a great set of armor.
We should visit Dragonstone and be the most awesome uncle to Shireen. Give her hugs and large caliber firearms, like a proper american child.
>>3559192I mean it doesn't seem to be that hard to build; just a helmet, pauldrons, some kind of neck armor, padded armor, chain mail, and some nice fabrics to cover the whole thing. I think it could easily be made in a month. The important thing is to look professional.
>>3559203Come to think of it we can even make sure she doesn't catch greyscale.>>3559192It's much more important to hire a bunch of tutors and experiments in order to prepare ourselves for our next life. I would personally suggest a trapmaker since when we are too young to hunt for food yet that doesn't mean we cannot set up some traps to catch some. Not to mention survival skills. We also need to start putting plans into place for the War of Five Kings and nightwalkers. Dany isn't something to worry about since she's dumb and crazy. We are obviously going to want to keep Ned alive in order to stop his kids from doing dumbshit and create an alliance with Stannis. Remember we can only really predict the start of the war simply because once we take action it's going to go off the rails.
>>3559266I think she still got Greyscale, it was just drastically reduced to a bit under her eye.
>>3559266>he wants to let the 5k happenOr we could just catch Bran as he falls out of a window and solve the main plot instantly as Cersei and Jaime are caught and Tywin becomes so angry he self-destructs.
>>3559177True but my worry is that they might get taken out of position or have to fight in bad weather (where our muskets are fucked) in which case having even a buckler would greatly improve their odds.>>3559192Agreed. Admittedly our Commissar's outfit does have a very good breastplate but it's hardly a complete suit of proofed plate.>>3559203Nah, music boxes and highly articulated dolls. Maybe some tin soldiers or something.>>3559266>>3559271Yeah the current plan is to prevent the war of the five kings by discrediting Cersei and her children, leaving only Stannis and the other brother, Renly, I think his name was?In theory if this worked, we'd at worst have a war between those two and it would quickly resolve itself given Stannis's superior claim and likely greater support.
>>3559334What happens if our actions to date have butterfly-ed away Big Bob's hunting accident & he lives to a ripe, old, age?How would he respond to the encroaching army of the dead, or Dany & her magically re-spawning armies & dragons of wildly inconsistent effectiveness?
>>3559483It's based on the books anon. For the last fockin time.Dany can be removed from being a threat very early on by just capturing her and Viserys, forcing them to sign a document revoking their and their descendents claim to the throne (and shooting Viserys when he sperges)Then we can give Dany a bag of gold and tell her to fuck off to her lemon tree house. The Whitewalkers will be a far bigger threat in books but without dragons they have no way past the wall and we will have equipped the NW with counters to them anyway.
>>3559483>How would he respond to the encroaching army of the deadIf he is made aware, if he doesn't dismiss it and if he hasn't bankrupted the realm by the time that the dead start marching, he'd rally a strong force and probably win but the issue more so lies in the general disbelief in their existence in westeros. Without solid proof, he has more pressing concerns: 7 kingdoms, 1 king and all that.>Dany & her magically re-spawning armies & dragons of wildly inconsistent effectiveness?Probably assassination. I mean he'd almost certainly eliminate her because she's the last remaining person in the world who has a legitimate claim to the throne (that he knows of) so her death seals his families rule.>>3559506>they have no way past the wallAssuming the Horn of winter isn't actually a thing and a few other possibilities, yes.
>>3559483I think that its a real possibility that we will invade the summer isle on behalf of Jalabhar Xho so that is going to turn the story tits up if it ever happens. The plus side is we will get real goddamn rich if we can field key ships to the royal navy.
>>3559015So like a half plate or something similar to this for armor?
>>3559576Aye that seems about right. Solid protection over the vital organs, neck and head along with enough protection over the limbs to stop stray blows from cutting deep.
>>3558560>>3558608>>3558655>>3558895>>3558899More art, this might be good for our officers
>>3559944This one is more subdued, more of an everyday uniform as can be evinced from the mud splatter at the hem
>>3559945And his more ceremonial outfit
>>3558517I'm kind of curious, we know what the Spider thinks of us, what does Melisandre think? I mean, we're pretty much walking into her prophecies and fucking them all up.
>>3560019Speaking of Melisandre, we need to remember to tell Cressen not to kill himself trying to poison her. We also need to talk to him about this Lightbringer stuff.
>>3560019The Spider likes knowing things, so being unable to figure out how and why we can do what we do would be driving him nuts (if he had any). Pic related.
>>3560019As for Melisandre. As OP put it at the end of last thread it would be extremely hilarious if she asked her flames whom we serve and gets pic related. Especially given the whole Azor Ahai prophecy stuff.
>>3560040Honestly, I have half a mind to see if we can arrange a dinner with Varys and offer to share information gathered by his little birds and our eagles. Telling him the information gathered by our eagles often isn't as specific as those gathered by the little birds, the caveat being that our Eagles don't actually exist. I'm just worried about sending him into full paranoid mode and him trying to murder us or something. >>3560046It would. To be honest though, she's like third on my priority to kill list. I'd rather not have Stannis turn into an Asshai puppet.
>>3560046Oh man, I just realized. Our guns might be considered the Lightbringer. Our sword that emits heat and light when we wield it.
>>3560054Well we did just declare for Robert and Varys is a loyalist, that will almost certainly become a problem at some point.
>>3560062We could always tell him we're aware that Aegon is alive and we have no designs to expose him. That and he should have already heard our opinions on Gregore Clebane and what he did to Rhaenys and Elia.
>>3560063"Hi, I'm your enemy who voiced our support to the crown. Now I know that Aegon is alive but I won't do anything."If I was the Spider I'd think Tallon has some master plan in the works once he said this.
>>3560083We do have a master plan. Fuck bitches make money
>>3560083No different then what he's doing.
>>3560083Tallon: Sup Spider, how's Fake Aegon doing?Varys: WatLittlefinger's Spy #23: WatRobert Baratheon: Wat
> 2 100 000 silver stag budget[ 1/2 ]"I hear the men in your house are quite something, storming the free cities and besting Robert at Ashford."Cersei says as she addresses your mother"Thank you for your compliments my Queen."She replies whilst giving a curtsy and Cersei gives her a smug smile."Prince Joffrey has been quite looking forward to meeting your son, you know. Come, sit and we'll talk of pleasant things while our boys talk of swords and war."Yes, this is apparently a thing now. As the menials scurried in their labors, sending word of the coming event and constructing the faire grounds, things happened. You and most your family, were dragged into a garden dinner party with the royals. Most unexpected thing about it was that most of the Royal family was in attendance. Stannis, Renly, Robert, Cersei and her children along with the Kingsguard. How this had happened, you had no idea, but just about everyone in attendance wanted a word or two with you."Is it true you defeated the free cities with just one ship?"Joffrey asks"Only two of them, the Lyseni gave up without a fight.""Quiet boy. How many ships did they have?"Robert speaks out"In Tyrosh they brought out a professional fleet of about 300 or so warships to face me, in Myr, they had 600 or 700 ships formed of mercenaries, militia and their standing navy naturally. They could have pulled easily over a thousand strong fleet each, but majority of those ships do belong to the trade princes who don't much care for losing ships.""I'd very much like to hear how exactly did you pull off that miracle against such odds."Stannis speaks out"The Tactics that I used? If you consider the standard war galley everyone has been using since time immemorial as the naval equivalent of a phalanx of disciplined spearmen, then the answer is simple enough how to counter it. You simply need to create a ship that is the equivalent of the horse archer. That's how the Dothraki spread across Essos.""Single horse archer will take a long time to go through 600 spearmen."Robert replies"Ah, but what if you had 80 horse archers, how would you consider the chances in that fight then?"He nods"Winnable. Very much winnable. I'll want to see your new ship and I'll know how does it exactly achieve what you claim.""I will come as well!"Joffrey states"I think we ALL want to see the ship that did the impossible."Renly statesYou shrug"We'll do when we get to it I suppose. Just say the word and I'll give you the tour, though I should warn you that it does indeed smell like crusty seamen and the more... unusual features of the vessel might take a while to explain.""Unusual features?"Rickar speaks out"He is referring to the iron heart of the ship that turns fire to life my King.""The Fuck is he on about?""Basically I set a bonfire under the ship's deck and it sails against the the winds and waves as it pleases."
[ 2/2 ]"I'll have to see it to believe it.""Like I said my King, whenever you want the tour, we'll make it happen.""Good. Come, walk with me while they grill the meat. Rest of you lot, don't bother us."He takes you out for a walk in the quiet, shady part of the Garden and lowers his voice as he addresses you."Jon Arryn speaks well of you, but cautions me against trusting you.""That is well with me my king, I loathe responsibility.""HAH!"He smacks you in the back"Seven hells, I wish could have been there. Haven't had a proper fight in years. Since when can you just drop your duties as a Lord and go on adventuring without your King?"You shrug"I don't think there ever was a law against it my King."He scoffs"Well now there is! Next time you attack Essos, you better invite me to come along first.""You'll have my word on it."You say as you smirk"So! Tell me of your lands Tallon. What's it like in the North? Is Ned still as stuck up as always?""Lord Eddard is as he always has been. Honorable and devoted to his duties and family. And as to my lands? Oh, it's everything I hoped. Plenty of space, nobody there to complain when you start distilling booze and there's very little political fuckery. Being a boglord is actually pretty damn peaceful, provided you can keep the outlaws at bay. Nobody asking you stupid shit or trying to push you off your lands."He scoffs"No money grubbers, plenty of hunting, drinking and northern girls to fuck. Are you trying to make your King jealous or something?""Did I mention I'm not married yet either?"He punches you in the arm in response"You watch your tongue there Lord Tallon or I'll make sure you too will know what's it like to be married to a Lannister."He smells the air for a bit"Smells like the food's done. We'll continue this another time." > Anyone specific you want to talk to? > Family? Royals? Kingsguard?
>>3560133Speak with Ma and Pa, I want to know what Cersei was saying, even if it was just idle gossip.
>>3560133https://youtu.be/aLVigJoi9k8Let's talk to Joffrey about ideas that sound good in theory but fuck him over in implementation
>>3560133Bobby is such a bro.
>>3560141A broken clock is right twice a day, I suppose.
>>3560130Jesus I misread that budget of Silver stags as Gold Dragons and thought we'd spent 100,000 on this. >>3560133Royalty and family, in that order. Stannis and Robert are the priority (lightly talking shop but mostly trying to establish a good rapport / understanding) but we can hardly neglect anyone else since that could be seen as slight against them (looking at you Joffrey / Cersei). Also, seeing as the kingsguard is in attendance, talk to them a little but only when it fits into the conversation except in the case of Barristan Selmy who is a god damn badass and madlad. >>3560162He's a man obsessed with control and respect (to him), of course he hates people having troops that aren't his, it's like a kid not being allowed access to toys.
>>3560133>familywonder what cersei said to them, see our sis, brother in-law and nephew and family stuffchat with them on whether winter is indeed coming>Royalsask their opinion on whether they think winter is coming>Kingsguarddrink and make merry with the off duty ones
>>3560166I read it as 2,100,000 gpbut 2,100,000 sp = 10,000 gp
>>3560133>KingsguardSympathise with the Kingslayer, mention in private that we know he saved KL and praise him. That boy is thirsty as fuck for praise, any praise. Could be useful later down the road.
>>3560176>mention in private that we know he saved KL and praise him.Varys, standing around the corner: WatSeriously though, we should do that. Should probably also ask him to send our regards to his father and brother.
>>3560133this >>3560176>>3560157also this
>>3560178>>3560179I know we're on a "Fuck the Lannisters" train (Mountain pls go and stay go) but even dishonoured, Jaime is a very VERY good fighter, with aspirations for nobility and "doing the right things". I blame his corruption mostly on Cersei, since he's not... very bright, to put it nicely. Also daddy issues, but doesn't everyone in ASOIAF have that, more or less? We're just saying he's a good boy for the possibility of something nice down the road. That's not a huge cost even if nothing comes out of it.
>>3560183Agreed. The man is just in a very awkward place (demanding family, need for praise from his father, wants to be a noble person, loves his sister, etc) that means no matter what he does or doesn't do, some part of him is disappointed. Also it's not even that we're team "Fuck Lannisters", it's just we know that they are the linchpin in so much bullshit that they've (specifically his father and sister, everyone else is fine) got to go. It's nothing personal, just business.
>>3560187>Nothing personnelPrecisely. I mean there are what, a hundred Lannisters from main and offshoot branches? Tyrion is a pretty jolly fellow as well, so clearly it's not all Lannisters who are shits. I have a soft spot for Tywin but you really cannot support him knowing that the next generation is FUBAR with Cersei at the helm and Jaime cut off from being able to lead the House as a Kingsguard, and Tyrion more or less blacklisted. Lannisters are fucked harder than the Tarlys are in terms of succession crisis. Theirs is a tenuous house of cards that requires an able statesman, but there just isn't anyone in the line of inheritance aside from the Imp.
Just had a funny thought of Jaime breaking down in tears while talking to us and everyone else going "wtf" at us making the Kingsguard cry
>>3560133Can we be a good role model to joffery? Or is he too far gone.As for my vote maybe Jaime
>>3560188>I have a soft spot for TywinHonestly me too. I respect the man for much the same reasons I respect Stannis, difference is Stannis is more honourable in his dealings and Tywin is honestly a bit too emotional / fucked as a father.
>>3560166>RobertAlready spoke with him, no>StannisDoes not require kowtowing. The only time he summons men is when he needs to discuss matters, not exchange pleasantries. >>3560196>Renly>A shit, but in all honesty I would prefer we don't bother with this guy. He's like a giant dumpling without any meat inside, making it a disappointing lump of bready mass. NO.That is some heavy damage.
>>3560196>Already spoke with him, noFair enough but we should still engage in polite conversation and shit.>The only time he summons men is when he needs to discuss matters, not exchange pleasantries. Then you must question why he is here, if not to speak with us. If he wanted to speak with any member of the royals, he'd have a far better time when we weren't here.>A shit, but in all honesty I would prefer we don't bother with this guy. Might be good to say hi and exchange pleasantries, remark on how time passed, etc.Oh shit, I forgot about him. Yeah we should talk to him.>Is Tommen born at this point? He's a good kid despite being incestfruit. No idea, he'd probably be a bit too young for any real conversation mind you if he was.>Talk to Joffrey as well, he's clearly excited about us and we can humour his brattiness.Agreed. At the very least we've got enough interesting tales to keep him entertained.>Seriously, if Tywin had a normal childhood instead of Frey-tier father (Except with none of the competence...) he could have been good.Yeah, he's got the intellect and the will but lacks the conscience and restraint.
>>3560200>StannisWe are already more or less in regular contact with him, because he buys gunpowder from us. Also there is a time and place for more technical (read: naval) discussion once we are on board and away from the Red Keep. Remember, anons, that this is the playground of Varys. There is a limit to how much we should reveal our hand. That guy has the entirety of the Keep bugged. Our ship is a relatively safe place, since it doesn't have Maegor's hidden tunnels built within. For this reason, I am against talking with Stannis in any significant topic.I assume we would do the polite necessities like replying to how-do-you-do's instead of breezing by like some autistic savant.
P.S. Try not to engage with Cersei. There are only two outcomes when talking with her. Either:- She thinks you're beneath her. She smugs all over you. Your prestige takes a hit.- She thinks you're above her. She becomes paranoid. Unlike her calmer father, the mad queen is very, very shortsighted and is very much capable of doing extremely stupid things. Let's not get tangled with that snake.
>>3560202Fair enough. I do agree we must be careful what we say but I doubt we're going to reveal much of anything that Varys wouldn't already have had a chance to pickup from his network.
>>3560193I don't think you can be a good role model for anyone considering the sort of person you are.
>>3560209Rude.
The Kingsguard who took notice of us during Harrenhal is dead, so that's a no go. https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Oswell_Whent
>Who was it that talked to us in private during Harrenhall Tournament? Might be good to say hi and exchange pleasantries, remark on how time passed, etc.He is fucking dead mate. If I remember correctly, he was one of those guys that got killed at tower of joy.
>>3560205You forgot option c) she thinks you might be useful/might want to ensure you're in her camp so she sleeps with youRemember>and probably Moonboy for all I know
>>3560133> Family? Royals? Kingsguard?Try to talk with mom , joff and ser barista
>>3560209What kind of person do you take us for? D:We should probably talk to Stannis about our Bro.Then maybe go speak to Jaime a bit.Not sure who else is here exactly, anyone from other Great house?
>>3560323You've killed at least a couple thousand people for money, just saying
>>3560328We saved a few thousands people from slavery. :)
>>3560133>Talk to ma about what Cercei was talking about, see if she didn't glean anything from her interaction with her.>Talk to Joffrey about what being a good ruler really means. His only real role model has been Robbert. Discipline and a good heart, empathy for your fellow man, how helping others can best help you. Things that WE'VE been doing.>Talk some more with Jon Aryn about how we can further ingratiate ourselves and maybe the creation of a standing army armed with OUR weapons, easy to make with proper funding and even easier to use.>Keep talking with Robbert about our weapons and how they would best serve his armies. Like we're doing STANNIS... >Talk to Renly about our weapons and how we could cut a deal with him, like we're doing with Robbert AND Stannis. Maybe drop hints that we know he bats for the other team but that we are completely fine with that cause people can't help who they love.We are in a prime position to expand both our operations AND our clientelle for when Bobby B unfortunately passes and the whole of the Seven Kingdoms has to arm themselves. Plus I wanna be friends with Renly, he's a bro. I advise against talking to Littlefinger, son of a bitch would send spies all the way up North to try and steal trade secrets. Fuck him.
>>3560328We're a weapons dealer, Death is kind of our main market...
>everyone still talking like Bobby Bs death is a total certainty. Can ye stop?
>>3560355You mever know man. Even if it's not we can still talk him into creating a standing army, armed with OUR weapons. Imagine the sort of dosh the seven kingdoms would be rolling in if everyone has a soldiers salary, as well as their regular salaries. Plus all the money needed to RUN a standing army, you need food and clothing and all sorts of stuff, money that eventually finds its way back to us.You know what we need though? Some counter intelligence to make sure niggas like Varys and Littlefinger don't try and spy on us. Varys I have a feeling will come to us in time but Littlefinger looks like one of those niggas who could be competition. We can't afford compitition.
>>3560340>Preach morals to JoffreyYea, way to be a hypocrite. This life has entirely been pragmatism, secrets, lies, violence and pursuit of profit.>Jon ArrynIsn't here and he is very busy>Drop hints we know he bats for the other teamDude, he is like 16. He hasn't even porked Loras yet.
>>3560467Well yeah we're a pragmatic opportunist but we're not an asshole. We detest barbarism, and our whole deal wether we knew it or not has been that our rising tide lifts all boats. Our raid on the cities has pretty much elevated anyone associated with us to great status, with Dan and Bodrin possibly becoming our Bannermen! Joffrey's heir apparent, so I figure it better to leave him with good morals than leave him with Bobby B as his lone role model. To do as we say rather than as we do. As for Renly, I admit I may be getting ahead of myself. Still though, I don't like the way he went to Millisandra's yeast infection, hence why I wanna be friends with the dude.
>>3560478How do you think Joffrey would respond to moral platitutdes?
>>3560527Not very well... but it's worth a shot badum tish
>>3560328Ok, SURE the whole point of it all was for the money, but we did free a bunch of slaves, broke apart any slave rings in westeros, and humbled a couple free cities that genuinely deserved it. I mean Robin Hood is a thief but nobody gives him shit for it because all of his marks are rich and he gives up some of his loot to the poor, we basically did that with a ship.
>>3560527How about instead of moral platitudes, some Machiavellian advice or w/e is more IC for Arthur
>>3560631I was thinking of slipping him The prince, Arthur edition.
>>3560775Once we get to our home we should write the love child of the prince ,art of war , some “ interesting” facts about westeros and the planetos ( geology , a summary of local history, industry, folk tales , culture, local hygiene etc) and that super important book about the economy and how it function ( i am blanking on the name )
>>3560794And if we can let’s try to write the westeros version of the Encyclopædia Britannica
>>3560618Hey, whatever helps you sleep at night
>>3560794Wealth of nations?
>>3560340>>3560467>>3560478>>3560527What Joffers needs is the capacity for empathy. Without that we can bukkake him with improving morals all day long & it'll amount to nothing.Bearing in mind that sociopathy/psychopathy are at least partially genetic there may not be anything we can do to improve him. The best bet might be to wait untill someone else inevitably kills him off for being a 'ruthless idiot', and focus on helping what's-his-face with the pet cat (the one who took the name King's Landing a bit too literally); he seemed nice.
>>3560891Tommen was best king also, we need to protect his sister smile ( when she's born )
>>3560898can we get tommen to lead our air force?
>>3560527>>3560478Pragmatism would work better."Always know that people will do what best benefits them in one shape or another. Money, power, favor of the gods, love, keeping the position they have because they are content, whatever. Show them a way to achieve it, whilst benefiting yourself as well and they will do it. Its how all societies work no matter what shape they take. All else are just words. Keep this in mind and you wont make a shit king. If you are not a shit king, just one or two memorable things that benefit enough people and history remembers you as a good king."
>>3560133>> Family? Royals? Kingsguard?>Remind our sister and brother the danger of the Great Game>Talk to Selmy, however see if he can put us in touch with Arstan Selmy of House Selmy. And see if they will agree to begin shipping us cotton at a good price.>talk to Robert about how the seven kingdoms could prosper from a centralized royal controlled over arching trading guild. Who focus more on directing merchants to where select goods would be needed by getting reports of fluctuation prices across the seven kingdoms and then selling this information.Plus it would enable Lord to more easily place large orders for things.
>>3560340>Discipline and a good heart, empathy for your fellow man, how helping others can best help you. Things that WE'VE been doing. We are a amoral mad hermit wizard who knows how to get good PR.>>3560340>Keep talking with Robbert about our weapons and how they would best serve his armies. Like we're doing STANNIS... Talking to both of them on what kind of new ship design would be best and what kind of guns would be best for the seven kingdoms might be a good idea as we will be selling them like hot cakes to anyone who can buy them, and giving them a idea that while it would be improper to refuse customers, orders being completed on a first come first served basis would effectively occupy our production with quite the backlog. Prohibiting our sales or them from buying will just end up with a third party sale and higher prices anyway, and more bad blood, but if they have to wait in line for a couple of years or more while we finish the production for our own lands, and then all the other customers who have placed orders before them...That is another thing.Might want to talk with them about pike and shot like tercios or japanese pike and shot, as with the price the guns have, full line formations are going to be viable only for ludicrously rich fuckers.
>>3560947>Wanting to make a centralized Royal trading guild with Baelish as Maester of coins.....are you sure?
>>3560331>>3560618The slaves were a excuse to get money. The slaves do not matter.Well, the noble ones do.And the fact that with it we sparked nationalism. But it is not like we are against slavery on principle, its just that our lands dont practice it.Like we would not be a abolitionist if we are born in essos, not even if we were a Braavosi (Pentos comes to mind)
>>3560958Maybe if we give him such public power we can get rid of him by proving his corruption.
>>3560964>not Delenda est pentos with Westeros volunteer brigades and scour the continent clean of slavers with the proto British / venezian empire
>>3560966we are fucking off to the north and hermiting up a airship or going for a neck canal or something.we are not staying in viper pit central to play intrigue games and politics. we are leaving that to our family in the reach who will be our more approachable front office proxy
Oh, wait, don’t we need to talk to Stannis about buying Dragonglass?
>>3560916He already invented the kamikhaze.
>>3560982Yes; in bulk, preferably.
>>3560922How about we just minimize our interactions with shitty people period? Including Joffrey, Cersei, Jaime, Stannis, Renly, Bobby B, Jon Arryn, Varys, and Baelish. Just be social and polite enough to be left alone so we can get back to what's important. Science. It's not like we need anything from these people. We don't need a stable Westeros. We don't need to be an influence on Joffrey. We don't need to prevent the war of five kings. We just need science.
>>3561210>Shitty people>Stannis>Bobby BNow you listen here you little targ shithead.
>>3561210Still being a nigger, I see.
>>3561214I'm suddenly a targ shithead because I don't care for a couple of retards? Fuck off. We don't need a useless drunk asshole or a humorless and emotionless fire worshipping robot. We don't need to schmooze these people for investment capital. We have all the funding we need for our construction, industrial, and scientific projects. We should just do enough here to get them to leave us be, and get back to important shit, like improving ourself, scientific research, etc.
>>3561218Ok targfag.

>>3561214I don't know man, Bobby B is a decent dude to talk to but is kind of asshole. I mean, he did basically start a war over a girl who didn't even really like him, then spent the rest of his life drunk and using up the kingdom's coffers to party.
>>3561274>he did basically start a war over a girl who didn't even really like himFucking show targfag.First, it didn't really matter whether or not the two liked each other, the two were betrothed, you don't just do what Rhaegar did. Second off, I really doubt that Lyanna liked Rhaegar all too much after he kept her locked in a tower and refused to let her leaveThird AND THIS IS A BIG ONE, the Mad King literally burned the Lord Paramount of the North and his heir to death with wildfire.
>>3561283Bobby B is also a drunk who beats his wife, is obsessed with some dead bitch, and neglects his kids, one of which is a burdening psycho and set to take the throne after him.
>>3561274>he did basically start a war over a girl who didn't even really like himWell, he did believe she'd been abducted to prince Rheagar's personal rape dungeon against her will. Plus the first guy to complain about said believed abduction was sued as bait to lure his dad in & they were then both burned alive. Also, the king was making demands for yet more innocent people to be turned over for the royal roast. All things considered, I think big Bob was more than justified in actualising a regime change. Also; you'd drink, too, if you were married to Cersei.
>>3561283>>3561283>>3561283Forgot to mention Rhaegar was married and had children, that he left to his Insane father as hostages to blackmail his in-laws into fighting so that he can cheat on her. Also, I think lyanna was 14 at the time
Rhaegar and Bobby B are both shit. Fuck those guys, fuck politics, fuck The Game, fuck the snake pit known as Kangz Landing, just use our resources for self improvement and science.
I wonder if Pycelle has some rare book on healing lying around.
>>3561305Shut up nigger.Bobby B is great. He drinks to dull the pain and there's literally nothing that he wants to do in King's Landing and Westeros can't declare war on anyone which is what Bobby B does best at.Well, they couldn't until now at least. Now they'll soon have the means to take on the Summer Islands if they want to.
>>3561317If you think Bobby B is so great why don’t you suck his cock?
>>3561330A rebuttal for the ages.
>>3561337I think; it might be wise to try to get some rare books while we are here, if we are to found a northern citideal

Christ I go to sleep and return to discussion deteriorating like we're trying to decide how we dress again. >>3560328We killed a couple thousand to save just as many if not more. Plus we proved we weren't in it from bloodlust or greed when we accepted the offers of surrender rather than pushing for more death / ransom.>>3560381Agreed, we at least need some counter-spy stuff to exist in our lands and prevent sabotage of our shit.>>3560467>Yea, way to be a hypocrite. This life has entirely been pragmatism, secrets, lies, violence and pursuit of profit.Yeah but we could've gotten way more by acting immorally. We could have ignored what the mountain did or demanded a share of his loot to look the other way for example or we could be planning to break our deal with Manderly (I mean, we've considered it and I am curious if, if we marry into his family, he might consider allowing us to produce them too).Plus it's not pragmatic actions of ours haven't lead to good outcomes for our people. We wish to learn to heal, we end up healing our people, we become wealthy and famous from these crusades, so too do our crews and their families, we wish to make our family more powerful, so we inform our brother of where to be to survive a losing war yet come out better off. Our printing press, a thing we made purely for profit? Ends up being used to produce books and potentially one day will be far more wide-spread given they know how to make the letterblocks and shit.>>3560794Honestly yeah. If nothing else we should probably start publishing some of our less insane / important breakthroughs to spread our knowledge and help create a basis for a scientific Westeros.>>3560968Eventually anon. Probably once we've industrialised our economy and need massive amounts of workers to fill in the gaps but at the same time need a way to distract and absorb all those people who we just destroyed the traditional jobs of.>>3560982Oh shit yeah, we should probably ask about getting a few blocks delivered to our castle.>>3561210That'd probably be for the best. If nothing else we should avoid Cersei.>>3561554True, I also wanted to see if we couldn't get permission off of the king to borrow one of his King's guard to give us some pointers for a month or two, while we wait for the festival to be ready.
>>3561330ur mom
>>3561283Anon, two wrongs don't make a right. The targs were crazy sisterfuckers with a massive hard on for their long dead dragons and magic, Bobby Baratheon is an abusive alcoholic who couldn't actually be bothered to run his own kingdom. They all suck, except Stannis pre-lightbringer I guess.
Don't about y'all. but we are ending Cersei's and Jaime's career with a pro gamer move. We can try to be Joffrey's mentor but due to Bran plan.Cersei,Jaime and their children will be seen as Targs traditionalist due to incest thing.Would be really bad to be that guy who gained your admiration only later to bust your mom for incest and you get kicked by grandfather for being an incest kid. 100% sure Cersei will point fingers at us.
>>3561815....King in the North?Bobby B is a drunkard, the Targs are nuts, Renly is a poofter, Stannis is a dick, the Lannisters need to be eliminated root and stem, but the Starks are pretty decent and our liege lords and the oldest dynasty in the seven kingdoms. >>3561929If we out their incest we are ending a lot more than their careers, we're getting them put on the chopping block.
>>3561289beating your wife is not wrong.it is a good thing.keeps her satisfied actually.
>>3561289Cersei needs to be beaten more, fampai.
All this hating on the Lannisters, Dornish, and Targs makes me think it would be hilarious if, once we inevitably get killed, come back as one of them.
>>3562103>DornishWhen have we brought them up?
>>3562103Some of us haven't been hating mindlessly on Lannisters. They're simply in an untenable position due to a variety of familial factors. Targaryens are shits since they tend to go mad with all the inbreeding. They're the ones who caused the war when Mad King burned two Northern Lord Paramounts in succession and an Arryn to boot. That kind of shenanigans -deserve- a dynastic change.I don't think there's been much mention of the Dornish?
>>3561937Ned will support Stannis for Iron Throne. We're merely anticipating the inevitable discovery of Joffrey's incestry-ancestry, and preparing Stannis/Ned's standing position to be unassailable. If Stannis decides to upgrade his rank as Emperor of the Seven Kingdoms (because King of the Seven Kingdoms is fucking stupid), then Ned can have his Northern Crown. But we are not going to push for an independent Northern Kingdom.

>>3562145*first life
>>3562103The only good Lannister is the Imp and Jaime wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't a sisterfucker. Targ hate is obvious as they are prone to insanity from all the severe inbreeding. Dornish hasn't been brought up much despite being hardcore Targ loyalists.Personally, I think coming back as a Valyrian would be hilarious if only due to our self-loathing and personal despair. If it's not personal reasons though Dornish would be hilarious solely due to all the aggressive horny women and us having no interest in sex which would drive them mad. Much less anything else. I personally hope for Dorne cause goddamn that shit is gonna be amazingly funny even if it is going to be a complete pain in the ass. Respawning in Lannister turf would be the least fun in terms of Westeros locations.
>>3562155On the other hand, being born as the most competent (and not disfigured) son of Tywin would allow some serious political shifts and prevent the downfall of the Lannister Dynasty. Not that I think we'll ever be born in a Lord Paramount family.
Or, born as a pauper in Braavos.
Nah lets be a random lord in the dance of dragons that had enough of the dragonsAnti air ahoy
It's a strange idea but hear me outWhat if we hire the smallest Lannister to streamline some of our civil projects in exchange for the Valerian dagger? The lannisters finally get a proper heirloom in the most bizarre wayAnd it's sure to make Papa Lannister go wtf
>>3562219Nice try Tywin.
>>3562219...why? Lannisters aren't the only ones who can do civil projects. What civil project?
>>3562223>>3562224I just want to troll the fucker
>>3562219Or, you know, we hire far more competent Maesters from the Citadel for a fraction of the cost and instead of gaining a witty drunk for a year we get 5 Maesters for life.
> KingsguardAs the dinner went on, there was much reserved small talk, adhering stringently to etiquette as possible. Your family clearly did not wish to start anything with the crown and the crown were still somewhat wary of you, Cersei making pointed questions, such as whom are you going to marry and what do they do on their spare time, attempting to milk information out of them. You and Rickar were more the focus of the menfolk, with warstories, hunting stories and other such things asked from you."I have to ask, where did you get the map for Iron Islands during the Greyjoy Rebellion?"Robert asks"There was an Ironborn sailor whom I knew well. He wanted to make an honest living instead of piracy, but sadly, he and his crew were murdered by the mountain clans whilst he was doing honest work transporting goods in the Vale. I got the map from him before he died. Hopefully one day I get the opportunity to make the savages pay for that.""I'm sorry for your friend. I know the feel."He says"It's fine, I've moved on, even if I've not forgotten.""I'll take your word for it then. Now if you'll all excuse me, your King needs to desperately take a shit."He says as he raises from the table"Get the next course ready while I'm gone."As the servants began to re-set the table, you took this opportunity to stretch your legs and have a chat with the Kingsguard."So, Ser Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer""Did you want something Ser Arthur?"He answers with a smug look"Well, I'd like to thank you for your service to this country. You saved a lot of lives by slaying a tyrant in spite of your vows and sacrificing your honor in the altar of justice."He gives you a skeptical look and replies sarcastically"Well it's always nice to be appreciated."You offer him your hand"Might I shake the hand that saved this city?"He smirks and takes your extended hand, grasping it firmly befofe pulling you in closer"That's not exactly a story many care to hear.""It is a story known to me and I do think you've conducted yourself rather admirably during the war, even if rest of your family's forces were considerably less so."He lets you go"Well, now you've shaken the hand that killed your last King. Must be a strange thing throwing a party for the man who usurped him."You shrug"It is, but not for the reasons you stated. I don't consider myself much of a party animal, so excessive celebrations are a rarity for me to begin with."He lifts his eyebrow as he eyes you"What, did you think I was making fun of you just now? I do genuinely respect what you did, even if your reappointment to the Kingsguard is considered a controversial matter."He chuckles while giving smug smirk as he looks away"Well thank you for that backhanded compliment Ser Arthur.""I just told you the truth. Have a good day Ser Jaime, and keep your conscience clean."You say as you return to the dinner table > Any more scenes you'd like before the parade?

Yet it's more like looking at the 300 holding the hot gates, it's not a question of if the board will die but when. There have been reports from other nationalities too, a Russian-speaker told tales about a year ago of how all their /mlp/-type sites and boards were dead, a few posts a month being the common speed. He came to /mlp/ and asked to join and was welcomed, yet this shows just how dire the situation is for that little board of little horses.>>3563160True but if the oldest rule was still respected perhaps it wouldn't be an issue. Shame I guess it's down to /a/ now.Anon, there exists a great deal yet to flag and fail. If you want /qst/ to be good or at least mediocre, write a quest about what you want to see. When you make content you wanna see, you attract like-minded people.Ultimately this quest was born of the frustration where no isekai MC ever made fucking guns and with the full understanding that it will likely serve as a terrible warning when it crashes and burns, and that will in turn make someone else write their own quest where they will constantly point out how shit my quest was.Turns out that didn't quite work out that way just yet.

We're a naturally cowardly group given our universal anonymity means we can abandon ship without any great cost.>Turns out that didn't quite work out that way just yet.Who knows, maybe this quest will end well. I've seen it happen a few times! I mean I've seen far more quests die to disease, prison sentences, injury, family deaths, qm deaths and so on but still, live in hope!
That Darren kid is not another ISEKAI'd person, is he? His hesitation to meet the uncle is totally normal and explainable by normal kid being a kid.Right?
>>3564387I mean we are someone who he has never met, who is basically famous for being insanely competent at everything he has tried to do, who just took down three nation state's navies and is often believed to be some sort of practitioner of sorcery. He is also 2 years old and a noble kid, the lad probably hasn't got much people experience.
>>3564396QM was "joking" about adding more ISEKAI'd people... but that's probably just my paranoia talking
>>3564397If he does, I hope he realises that he's basically just made inter-timeline GOT Highlander and that is some of the tightest shit ever.>Each time we die, we don't transfer to a new reality instantly, >instead we have to wait for everyone else who ISEKAI's to also die,>Then we all get shoved into the next timeline,
>>3564401If I ever will do a multiple Isekai thing, it won't be during this run. Also, you have done enough autistic shit to make it really weird and you'd just get bullied.
>>3564437>If I ever will do a multiple Isekai thing, it won't be during this run.Good to know.>Also, you have done enough autistic shit to make it really weird and you'd just get bullied.I'm not 100% on what you mean but fair enough.
>>3564438You have a fucking imperial aquila as a sigil and you cosplay as a commissar
>>3564439This is why I want to dress as Sharpe.
>>3564351>She maintains a poker face and replies coldly>"Nothing of interest.Oh, that's right; poor ol' mum was stuck getting a grilling from the (literal) queen bitch herself. We need to make a note to have a private chat with mummsie at the earliest opportunity & see how many & what magnitude of bees Cersei has put in her bonnet.
>>3564439Hey if anyone knocks the aesthetic, they can take it up with our massive death ship. Anyhow, what is wrong with the aquila? It's a perfectly good symbol and I'd argue that our commissar uniform is hardly the most autistic thing we could've done. >>3564442True, lord knows we've got to be careful now. Our ship alone would make us a powerful pawn in the Grand Game but considering our other talents and resources, we're going to need to protect our family if we don't want them used against us.
>>3564351this is an excellent opportunity to put the idea of Joffrey being an incest bastard into Arryns head. We need to protec Bobby B and his hog at all costs.
>>3564458You seem to be unaware of the fact that Jon Arryn knew about the incest.
>>3564439>inb4 it's a complete rando normie who thinks we're cosplaying a nazi or some shit >Rando: Why are you so chill with Stannis, wasn't he sort of a dick in show?>Arthur: Well he's a lot more well developed in the books, which seems to be the main inspiration of this world>Rando: What books? This was a show on HBO dumbass lol>Arthur: W-well no the show was based on a book series->Rando: Man everyone looks way different, especially that Cersei chick, she's WAY hotter here.>Arthur:.....>Rando: You think I've got a shot with here?>Arthur:....the woman married to the violent king of the seven kingdoms?>Rando: Well I mean, he's gonna die anyway right?>Arthur:.....*sigh*>Rando: Hey where you going buddy?>Arthur: I'm just going to go grab my gun real quick>Rando: Oh awesome! We gonna to a shooting range or something?>Arthur:....Yeah sure, just wait right there>Rando: Alright cool, you know for a nazi that guy is ok.
>>3564460Oh, I didn't realize he knew about it this early
>>3564466It was never specified when he knew, but telling him serves little.
>>3564460>>3564466>>3564470I think, if we want to un-mongle the royal line then the best we can do is maybe try & stop Arryn from being poisoned, possibly by driving a wedge of some sort between Jon's wife & Littlefinger?Alternatively; we don't want to end up on Baelish's shit-list, so maybe we keep our collective head down & just carry on playing Factorio up in the north?
>>3564471Lysa is so batshit insane that driving a wedge between her and Littlefinger is more likely to get us killed than anything else.I think Arryn dying is probably just going to have to happen. We have a better chance of saving Ned from his execution I reckon.
>>3564471I'm gonna have to agree with>>3564479 easiest way to prevent both the war and Ned's execution is the "save Bran, expose Lannister incest midcoitus" plan, which unfortunately means letting Arryn die. Trying to save him could tip people off and potentially force us to answer questions we shouldn't be, and just storming KL to extract Ned should really be more of a plan B.
>>3564479>>3564496Fair enough; operation Raisin' Bran is a go.How do we enact it, though? We can't exactly just happen to leave our cart of extra-soft cushions under that particular window all day. Do we know exactly which tower it is? Is it a tower to which we, as some rando minor lord from up north, would reasonably have free access?Perhaps most importantly; do we know the date & approximate time of the fateful defenestration?
>>3564540>How do we enact it, though? We can't exactly just happen to leave our cart of extra-soft cushions under that particular window all day.I mean you say that anon but if we just explain it using magic, people'd believe us. Which given some anons want to at least hire a magician for our court, seems possible to do.>Do we know exactly which tower it is? Is it a tower to which we, as some rando minor lord from up north, would reasonably have free access?Yes, given the damage to it / state of disuse and probably yes, given the targs / bran manged to both get in and avoid getting caught while also being isolated enough that Bran wasn't immediately discovered.>Perhaps most importantly; do we know the date & approximate time of the fateful defenestration?Yes we do know the date given we know who is in attendance and why they are there. We can watch for them heading north.
>>3564553Okay, then.Raisin' Bran is shaping up nicely. Not sure about telling everyone we're magic, though. Probably best to try & play it off as coincidence.
>>3564724Keep in mind that we, in all likelihood, fucked the timeline so much Bran Plan might well not even be a thing anymore. Bullying three city-states at once doesnt exactly happen in the books.
>>3564858Yeah; all this is contingent of our actions not having butterflied away Bran's incest peep-show.If there is no tower incident, then what's our best bet?
>>3564724>Not sure about telling everyone we're magic, though. Probably best to try & play it off as coincidence.I mean, they already think it. Might as well but I'd point out the focus I was placing was more so on our hired magician than us given they'd be our source of information / prophecy.>>3564858This is also very true but at the same time, if we consider that to be the case, then it is also likely that Robert ain't going to die any time soon.>>3564901At that point we're potentially better off doing damage control to ensure the war ends quickly and cleanly in the favour of our side.
>>3564901Drop hints about the fuckery and talk with Tyrion. We *can* still do the reveal but Ned wont suck our dick. And if that doesnt work there is always the threat of overwhelming firepower to keep a war from happening...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAdYmUk6oVY God this is a good tune.
>>3564921Also, while I vehemently dislike magic in ASOIAF, there is one thing it may be good for. Gotta get that CPU from somewhere.
>>3564921Also, wouldn't *this* picture over the skies of Kings Landing be just fantastic?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBOD8qeCBuc
>>3564935man of culture as wellhttps://youtu.be/lDQ7hXMLxGc
>>3564935>>3564988https://youtu.be/FGaosBHdFMA
>>3564901I get the fear but I'm really not sure how exactly the free city crusade would effect anything. Little Finger will still be up to his fuckery, Arryn will still be lpoking into rhings the Lannisters don't want him to, he'll still probably die, and Robert will still likely visit Ned to give him the job as king's hand. I don't think anything we did would effect any of that. That said there was one idea anons toyed with before. We could hold off a few months to lower our head politically, then start looking into house ancestry records, inform our lord Ned Stark of our findings, send them out to Stannis next powder shipment showing an oddity we found >"Pecular that there has not been even one blonde haired Baratheon on record before, even when married to a Lannister, yet three miraculously appeared in one core family all in the same generation" then boom there's legitimate reason to look further into things.
>>3565759Yeah but imagine giving that reasoning in court.>he has different hair than his fathers despite there being a 50/50 shot for all three. The chances of Cercei and Bobby B having three blond kids is honestly pretty high. It's like winning three coin flips in a row. Sure it's weird but it can happen.
>>3565759How exactly does one prove paternity in a pseudo-medieval setting? Magic, maybe?
>>3566076Jon finding out that baratheon features shone through for every Baratheon/Lannister coupling was enough to get him murdered. Ned knowing was enough to get Sansa kidnapped and threatened to be killed unless he went to the stairs of King's Landing and announced he made shit up.
>>3566173It was Lysa who killed Jon Arryn, not Cersei. In the books, Cersei and Jon Arryn had an understanding to not rock the boat.>>3566111You practically don't. Though the family records give credence, having one of the King's bastards too would give more so. You could always try and collect Robert's bastards too, but this is a more overt manouvre and you will totally get noticed for doing this.
Seems our best bet to keep shit stable then will be to intervene when Ned needs help by preventing Sansa being used against him or by directly saving his life when that becomes needed. That or we accept what is coming and instead prepare to arm the north and prevent shit like the Red Wedding.
>>3566377Pretty sure we wanted to train up a team of sharpshooters/commandos for when the shit in KL goes down. Not sure if we ever made any progress on that though.
>>3566377We can also prevent Bobby B's hunting "accident." potentially. Basically, the way I'm seeing it, we need enough soldiers and ships we have control of the waters if the war happens and we support ned. If Ned dies, we support Stannis. If Stannis becomes Lightbringer then I have no clue. At that point we might as well support Aegon or throw our hat in the ring because everything's gone tits up.
>>3566419You didn't have the funds for it.
>>3566460> “which lord do you think should sit in the throne lord talon?” > “of course i know him he's me”
>>3566460Melisandre became Stannis' advisor because she was capable of fulfilling her end of the deal (shadow baby assassinations, limited future sight). He would not need to rely as much on her if we have his back. With our introduction into the North, the once backwater region has become a significant power within the Seven Kingdoms. Cersei didn't want to kill Ned even during the original book. Now imagine what the Lannisters would think about killing the LP of the Region With Guns and Cannons. Which incidentally has a close tie with Lord Stannis, who stands to become King if the Lannister Incestry is promoted.Tywin will bend the knee, because he knows to do otherwise is to invite the destruction of his clan to the seventh generation. He has heard of what we did to the Essosi Free Cities. Lannisport is nowhere near defended, nor is the Rock as defensible as thought with gunpowder weaponry. If Ned dies, then all the better - the Lannisters will have to do a great many things to make up for -that- transgression. In the end for Tywin, there is only the survival of the family
>>3566612Reminder all Ned has is a squad or two of borrowed riflemen you loaned to him. The North is still a near worthless doomed shithole.
>>3566612Also, you can sack Lannisport and maybe even Casterly Rock but good luck doing anything of actual importance in the war. The entire thing took place on land away from water with the exception of the battle of Blackwater.
>>3566613Book event won't happen for a few years yet, and we're still producing powder weapons all the while. And we have yet to go full capacity because we aren't home yet, investing our newly earned cash in production capabilities. Ned also has more than a squad or two, anon. He's been tithing us with muskets and ammunition. And we spent -three years- on shipbuilding. He has what, two hundred by now?
>>3566615KL battle was one of THE major conflicts in W5K. We prevent Stannis' fleet from getting wildfired, that will allow him to keep steamrolling.
>>3566618Nah we could bombard the red keep
>>3566619Hell storm ends and oldtown could be sieged
>>3566617Unless he has more than a couple of thousand equipped riflemen, it's going to do jackshit against the Westerlands and the Reach's insane numbers in an all out war. Like I said, ships don't mean anything when the conflict is going to be mainly on land. The North could try splitting its forces so it takes occupation of the vacated west but that would leave them with a weaker main force.Let's be real here, the only reason we won against the Free cities is because they're all coastal, they rely heavily on trade, and we refused to meet them on the ground. They had better numbers, experienced mercenaries, and a fuck ton more wealth than we had. Take away our purely naval advantage and we're nothing but a somewhat effective skirmish force of about half a hundred people. Of course, a fully outfitted and trained army would be superior to any force save maybe the Golden Company.
>>3566623Yeah, that would be the not-so-metaphorical gun to Reach's head. And Tyrells rely on the continued support of its vassals to maintain its primacy, more so than any other Lords Paramount in fact due to the sheer number of powerful families in the region. Redwynes, the fleet power for Reach - don't want to get Ironborn'd.Hightowers, one of the wealthiest houses in the Reach - don't want to get Ironborn'd, even if marriage tie with Renly.Tarlys, THE military commander family of the Reach - marriage ties with the Tallons, which is one of the major vassal houses to Stannis-North alliance and very likely the pin that holds those two together (preventing idiotic Kingindanorf).Reach will be a little more careful in declaring for Renly this time around.
>>3566624Casterly Rock and Kings Landing are coastal you defeatist twit. We can bombard their cities easily.
>>3566627Jesus Christ, I'm sure that will help against their giant fucking army. Taking King's Landing would be a wise move, though. Doesn't stop the aforementioned giant fucking army but it does give us a chance to end the war before it begins, if it ever begins and we decide to do anything about it.
>>3566624Westerlands didn't manage winning against Robb Stark, and the only reason they could manage sustaining the losses they did was because they had the money to hire more. What makes you think they would do better this time, when we can influence things to prevent Ned's death in the first place? The North doesn't march south to occupy places, they're there to raze Westerlands as revenge for killing the Ned.Reach is insanely powerful if united. If. Things have become somewhat more complicated because of the addition of Us into the equation, but more than that is the introduction of Cannons.Say goodbye to long, protracted sieges. No more reliance on ancient ballistae. We have the means to truly reduce fortified positions to the ground, but more than that, our siege weapons double as smashing infantry formations. And we have a few more years to prepare for all this with all the wealth at our disposal. Would I say we are ready right now, in this moment? No. But given time (that we do have) and money (that we definitely do have)?Hell yeah.
>>3566630Yes anon because giant fucking armies have no upkeep cost and you can just keep marching them around for eternity whilst all your coastal cities get pulverized.
>>3566631Westerlands couldn't win against Robb because the young wolf was actually really good at war and Jaime was an awful commander. If we bring cannons into the equation and a fuck load of them, of course we'd win the war. I'm not saying we wouldn't in any situation but we need to consider the reality here: guns and cannons aren't an instant win button, like the fucking mountain clansmen taught us. >>3566635Remind me again what happens to the Riverlands whenever a surrounding region declares war?
>>3566637There is an aspect to war that is not being considered here, and that is the shock and awe effect of gunpowder weapons. There is a nearly superstitious fear/respect/boner for our big guns in Westeros due to the showing we had with the Free Cities. Enemy commanders are not fully cognizant of the strengths and weaknesses of cannons, only that it's Really Loud, Makes Smoke, and Very Dangerous.Morale is one of the chief factors in any classical battle involving the push-and-pull of mortal bodies pitted against each other. The cards are going to be heavily stacked against those without our wonderwaffes.
>>3566642Still doesn't make them an instant win button. We tried the same against the Mountain Clansmen and the weather fucked us up. Also, where is this superstitious fear and respect? We've just barely gotten back from the crusade. Of course, word will spread amongst the smallfolk and the nobility but that fear and respect remains to be seen.At first, our guns will probably do a lot of morale damage. After a while, the enemy armies might probably get used to it if they've gone at us enough times. Then again, we do live in a superstitious world where magic is still feared and acknowledged. Hell, who's to say our own armied won't get scared by the booming sounds of guns and cannons going off?Thinking any of our advantages will be permanent and apply in any situation is just going to fuck us if we don't think these things through.
>>3566630You don't have the men to actually take anything, but you can blockade a lot of stuff. Problem is when the enemy doesn't care about loss of access to sea, then you don't really have much to do.
>>3566649That's going to be us then. I don't see any reason why access to the sea would be something any of our potential enemies would care much about other than loss of trade, which Westeros is lacking a whole lot of. The Reach will still have its grain and the Westerlands will still have their mines, even if they're drying up.
>>3566647I assumed we were all in favour of making maxim guns for the crowd control portion of the war? I mean, like I said, we have a lot of time until the book events begin in earnest. Trust in the Maxim. Believe in the Maxim. WORSHIP the Maxim.
>>3566653You do realize that a couple accurate explosive shells will break any formation? Couple that with the fact that we can shoot at them long before the lines meet. In a terrestrial battle, a dozen cannons will assure victory. In a naval setting, we rule anyway. What you dont seem to get from the previous exchange is that the Reach wont follow the Lannisters if we start shooting up their coast. And with Mannis putting pressure on the West and the North having guns and cannons, its a blatant no-win scenario. However proud Tywin is, he isnt dumb. Aside some stupid Joffrey tricks or other calamity there wont be a war.
>>3566661First it was field cannons now it's explosive shells, are we going to have automatics by the time the war starts? If we start shooting up their coast, don't you think they'll be more than a tad pissed that the child of one of their lesser lords is biting their hand and will give them more reason to side with the Lannisters? Will our family really be well off if we decide to do that? Tywin doesn't buy the story of our crusades even with all the evidence. He might later but not understand just what cannons can do.
>>3566666>are we going to have automatics by the time the war startsyes.
oh you sweet summer children
>>3566666I mean when you are having a 10 000 Gold Dragon party with the freed slaves on KL, he kinda has to believe.
>>3566670but will he understand the full range of capabilities a cannon has?
>>3566666We are already equipped with hundreds of explosive rounds for our 80 cannons. Taking a dozen cannons with a hundred shot off the boat is an easy example.Furthermore, they dont have to like us. And unlike what you think, they arent out for total war. Nor d they all have personal interest in seeing us dead. Telling Hightower to fuck off or we bomb his city is a very nice way to cut him out of the equation. Granted, cant do that with Tarly, and it probably wouldnt work either, but if you reduce the Reaches assets enough the Tyrells wont risk their position for Tywin. Much like Tywin wont risk his legacy for a couple dumb kids.
>>3566670>>3566666Tywin is actually the one person who can afford and pull of a move to get knock off guns and import a powder replacement from alchemists in ashai or wherever in essos at ludicrously larger price - as he has the treasury for it.That being said getting it in enough quantities will be a bitch and a half, and keeping said supply up in a war is going to be impossible as we are going to cut that route off anyway.
>>3566666>automatics by warQuints deserves an answer, and that answer is YES.
>>3566674>the bootleg guns and propellant argument.Again
>>3566673Of course they don't have to like us. The problem is they'll probably end up fucking hating us and viewing our family as traitors. Good luck reducing the never ending fortune that is the Reach fields from their coast. This isn't even factoring in the massive treasuries and grain stalls the Reach families probably have.
>>3566679Las I checked the Reach was relying on trade of its harvest to thrive. They dont exactly make sunflower jewelery, now do they. And what you fail to realise is that this isnt a total war. They will never fight to the last man. They will not suffer through economic ruination for Tywin. Much like Tywin wont suffer through having his lands and family torched on the slim hope that his incest grandson might sit on a throne he might get assasssinated off of anyway. This isnt Total War: Westeros.
>>3566679Reach is not inflexible. It is capable of bending the knee - multiple times, in fact, as long as they judge the situation to necessitate it. The concept of total war is alien to these people. They will not send never-ending flow of bodies for the Juche Ideology against those Gun-Totin' Yanks.
Just saying > 100 canons shooting grapeshot
>>3566677they will be complete shit compared to ours and we will beat any such army like stupid fuckers.does not mean they wont try.
>>3566683>Last I checked the Reach was relying on trade of its harvest to thrive. They dont exactly make sunflower jewelery, now do they.Yeah, they trade to the surrounding lords with nowhere near the amount of fields and resources they have.>And what you fail to realise is that this isnt a total war. They will never fight to the last manOf course not, no nation would but they have tons of men to spare.>Much like Tywin wont suffer through having his lands and family torched on the slim hope that his incest grandson might sit on a throne he might get assasssinated off of anyway. You mean like he did in canon? Tywin's way too prideful to accept any sort of surrender unless he wins some way or gets something out of it. >>3566684I remember the time it took three dragons, yes.
>>3566685We have the capacity to go actual artillery, rather than cannons, explosive and all. Has a much bigger effect on enemy formations from much further away.>>3566686The thing is that its not cost effective. Sure, you can make a gun pretty easily, but if the wildfire charge renders the thing slag after the first shot its not useful. Our advantage is that its dirt cheap to make. Tywin, even with a supply at only 4x the cost (transport and all) will be far less capable of fielding numerous units of powder, despite his vast wealth. Plus, as anon said, once trade is cut its done.
>>3566666.......anon we alreasy have explosive shells, and do you really think a few years aren't enough to produce cannons for an army?
>>3566689Ok anon, Im not getting anywhere here. You do you.
>>3566693I was just thinking the same thing.>>3566691We're advancing so fast I can barely keep up. It's not like we need explosive rounds to fell a fleet.
>>3566694>We're advancing so fast I can barely keep up. It's not like we need explosive rounds to fell a fleetWell I mean, it's pretty easy to advance your tech if you know what comes next. We'll hit a wall eventually where we'd require specialized equipment and high end factories, but big metal tubes and bomb balls aren't it
>>3566690I expect it to be x20 or so at cost, but to be somewhat less volatile then the wildfire and highly ununiform in quality, sometimes to low powerd, sometimes to high powerd, so a high rate of misfire chance. it would make it totally not viable to use it in anything but artillery and the cost to running it astronomical. Why only Tywin would able to afford such a bondogle. Much easier to try and get some from the Royals, and supplement it with the crap as bulk up.And the only reason for that would be preparing to fight us specifically and have a minuscule shot at some kind of viability. It would be his only option to properly arm his army to somewhat similar standards at least for artillery.Basically any scenarios where we would be remotely challenged on the battlefield are total crap shots or out of context and ludicrously expensive that no one can actually afford plus generally inferior in both performance and numbers.
>>3566698Agreed
On this or the next life let’s try to “invent “ nationalism and make the reich that will last 1000 years
fucking hell, a string of luck after the most safest of starts and we think everything will go our wayWho will be the new mountain klansmen we immolate ourselves to kill?
>>3566715Lannisters
>>3566715The Mountain or Robert Strong in full plate. He'll rape us. murder us, and kill our children before doing the same to the rest of our family.
>>3566719PFFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHWhat a joke.
>>3566719Lol, we'd make good friends with Oberyn in the half face club.
>>3566724Yeah, we're probably never getting laid.
Whilst the preparations for the grand celebrations were underway, the royals requested a tour in your ship. Surprisingly, they were joined by a Lannister figure of rather small stature."Ser Tallon, meet my imp of a brother in law's Tyrion Lannister.""Well met Lord Tyrion, I must admit I had not expected you to join us in this tour.""Don't worry, I shan't take much room."Joffrey speaks"You must forgive us, my creature of an uncle insisted on accompanying us.""It's fine I suppose. Now, as I take you for this tour, I must insist that you follow my instructions and do not wander off. Failure to do so may result in loss of life and limb. Good? We may begin.""As you see, we are now in the main deck. Those of you who have been aboard the Long Night may recognize the swivel guns. We use those on this ship as well. The Skiffs over there double as lifeboats and landing crafts for the Marines aboard the vessel and under them are the cargo chutes. Up there on the masts we've got our observer's post and a few rifle nests. Blokes will be shooting down on enemies from there. That's about it. Let's head to the first gun deck, shall we?"As you lead your guests to come down the first set of stairs, everyone's eyes widened."So, these are the new long 12 pounder guns. As you might have guessed, they throw thrice the mass of the guns on Long Night and chew through powder rather hungrily.""How much did you spend on this?"Stannis asks"I am in a lot of debt and had to make some backroom deals to offset most of the costs. Anyway, if you want one of these ships made, Manderly is the one making them now."Joffrey is rubbing a cannon with a smug smirk"Right, let's go over the standard ammo types"That got his attention"We've got the classic Ball Ammo for hard targets, not much different to Trebuchet ammo. Rakes through rowers all the way to the rear and sinks a ship when you put holes under waterline. This one here's for your soft targets, we were prepared to give grape shot to enemies in case they came with Longships, but they didn't. Finally there's the chainshot. It's made to rip apart sails and masts in the event of a chase.""What if you were to hit a the enemy captain with that?"The Blonde child asks"They get rent asunder, it's not a pretty way to go, but at least it's a quick one. Anyway, if it fits in the hole, it can be shot. Yea, not much else to say. Any questions?""Can we shoot one?""There will be time for that once the party gets started. For now, it would spoil the surprise.""How far can these shoot?"Robert asks"Errr... Few thousand yards is the furthest hit we've gotten so far, although it's not very accurate at that point. This stuff is rather new.""And can these new ones ones damage stone?""Sure, though the 24 pounders below are what I really made for that job. Speaking of which, shall we?"You say gesturing towards the stairs
[ 2/3 ]"How much Iron did you use on these?"Stannis asks"Ssssomewhere around two to three hundred tons in total? I can tell you, Manderly was NOT very happy when he had to foot that bill. Good thing North's rich in untapped resources like Iron.""How far do these shoot?"Robert asks"Much the same as the ones on topside but with a 24 pound ball instead of 12, should be pretty decent against most walls.""And there is no downside or weakness?"He asks"They are heavy, noisy, make a lot of smoke and there is only one place to get ammunition. Also, if you set the powder on fire it does as you'd expect. Besides that? Has worked well enough for me.""Seems I'll need look into guns more in case that fool Viserys ever returns to Westeros."Robert states"I trust I have your support.""I recommend buying another gunship for the Royal Fleet in that case. We've no dragons anymore, so naval power will have to do. Shall we continue?""As you will.""Excellent, the next one is going to be something a bit unusual. We aren't exactly selling these just yet, follow me of you please."You take your guests down the engine room"What in the seven hells is that?""It's the ship's engine, it's fiery heart. I worked many years on that personally to get it just right."Tyrion looks at it with keen interestJoffrey with wide eyes and a smileRobert with discomfortRenly with confusionStannis... is the same as usual"What does it do?"Tyrion asks"It heats up our tea, dries our clothes, warms our quarters, bakes our bread, keeps our pumps running, fans us when we're hot and rows our ship onward.""How does it do all that?""I guess there's no harm in telling, if anyone else could pull this off I'd have hired them myself."You point to the boiler"That heats the water with coal.""Water turns to steam and runs through those pipes.""Pipes lead to pistons.""Steam pushes on pistons.""Pistons move the shaft.""Shaft moves the cogs""Cogs transmit power to an underwater propeller which moves the ship.""Excess heat is siphoned upstairs to warm up radiators and cook food on the ship.""Excess pressure runs the rotating fans, which help move air in the ship.""That's how you move a ship with a bonfire under her deck."Stannis speaks out"How fast does your contraption make this ship?""Fast as Long Night on the wind. Faster against and without it.""And this contraption works?""So long as it's maintained, aye. Haven't had malfunctions yet.""I'd very much like to see it work."You sigh"It's gonna take an hour or two to build up the steam.""I will wait."You roll your eyes"I guess we can run it on idle for a bit. Let's head to Captain's quarters while the lads get it running. We'll have some tea and biscuits."With a not-so-quick snack break, you returned after the machine was brought to life. "Right, so you definitely do not want to touch any of that stuff when it's running. It's hot and shreds you to pieces, you'd be better off getting shot."
>>3566727wait a minute..Robert? Isn't he the okay king? why does he want to rape us?
[ 3/3 ]"That's amazing"Tyrion says"Which book did you learn this from?""There is no book written on this subject to my knowledge. I am the sole pioneer of this field."You reply"It's frankly stunning. I've read on the engines of war and mills alike and there's nothing nearly as complex as this. I don't think even Valyrians were capable of this.""I would imagine they were not. This is a machine built on understanding the natural principles of the world, not violating them through some blood sacrifice."Joffrey looks at the violent pounding of pistons and rotation of the wheels machine mesmerized"It's beautiful, the sheer power of it""Works at approximately same force as six hundred horses at full steam."Stannis raises an eyebrow"How did you come to that conclusion?""There's a mathematical formula for it, but it's quite boring and long winded to explain how to reach those numbers, but that's my estimation. Anyhow, let's head topside if you don't mind. We can give the auxiliary tools a whirl if you like."With a brief display on the sirens on the ship which you explained could be used for communication and for simply spooking the enemy and disrupting their signals, the tour came to a close."Right, so that concludes our tour, any questions?""How much for this one?"Stannis replies > What do you say?

>>3566869I'd say we're not exactly being unreasonable; percussion caps give us access to much more fire-power, and the lack of them did lead directly to our death that one time.
>>3566860It wouldn't got anything CLOSE to that.Supporting this but replace under a million with under 200k.
>>3566860*This* ship might be worth 1 million as it is one of the kind and it is the one who has humbled three fucking free cities on its own.And it must come with the engine and explosive shot.Thing is we already have ludicrous amount of wealth that we would be hard pressed to spend if we are not going full retard and act like a proper lord, well as close as we did thus far.
>>3566832>It isn't for sale at the moment, though I'd be amenable to renting itAlternatively>a royal city charter + payment in the form of the services of craftsmen/tradesmen?
>>3566860Supporting. We must maintain our monopoly on the engine technology, as well as the superior 24 lb cannon.
>>3566860same. but 1 million is too much. about 80k will do.
>>3566832>DON'T SELL"Can't really put a price on three year's of my life's work, not when I've only just begun cashing out on the benefits, eh?"We are NOT selling the bloody engine, that thing has so much use even without the ship, like powering, hell, any number of things. As QM has mentioned, we're the only ones with the appropriate know-how and PARADIGM to even build the stuff. Do NOT sell the steam engine. Not until we have better, and people who can actually help streamline the process of building it.
>>3566832>"How much for this one?">Stannis replies>> What do you say? What ludicrous amount are you offering? This is like selling Balerion the Black Dread.Because I am not all that enthusiastic on having to build such a machine again.
>>3566880So phasebros thenNow the real unreasonable ones were the sonic screamfags
>>3567397Build a Small Keep just to house a big engine, then build an entire fortress city/manufactory around the engine.
Tyrion seems to be the only one properly appreciating our designs.
>>3567397If we can get ludicrous amount of money that allows us to build a neck canal or a ironclad or some other bullshit and royal favour it is worth it.Especially as we can not maintain the mobilization to crew it. We emptied our lands of fighting age men except outriders and garrison troops to crew it.Trading it, after some time while we can get our crew squared away and produce enough cannon we can feel safe in our lands might be a good option, as we can buy one or two long nights to defend out waters from manderly and then cook up some scheme to one up this one.
>>3567397Backing this. Selling a galleon to Stannis is perfectly fine. Selling our ONE personal steam powered galleon that took us forever to make? No. We can do that someday, but not today. Someday being when we have MORE THAN ONE>Don't sell
>>3566832Backing these >>3567397 >>3567612Stop trying to sell our big advantage the exact fucking second we start using it. Especially with the war of five kings soon.
>>3567612this
>>3567397Agreed. Don’t sell it. Period. Full stop. End of story. Not selling what is for Arthur Tallon, his life’s work.
Don't sell.Though I'm totally fine with playing Pimp My Ride with Stannis and making him a galleon of his own. Just without the steam engine because we're pretty much the only person on the planet who can maintain one properly.
>>3566832No to selling him the engine, yes to getting him another ship full of cannons. With only 3 years until the start of the events we actually know are going to take place, we should see if we can get some people we know are useful on our side. Like having a word with Randyl and getting his fatboi son to either give up his claim now and we can take him on and teach him, or if not that then maybe Randyl can see how much the citadel has taught us and it can actually help his house in the long run to have a son that knows things other than war. Or finding memelord Karl fookin Tanner, not sure why we would, but I'm sure having someone like him on our side would be handy. Also, how many of our crew do you all think have been bought by Varys or other spymasters? Has to be at least a few.Anyway, I suggest we try and help fatboi at the very least.
>>3567516Well Tyrion is definitely in awe from an intellectual angle, but Stannis is definitely ready to spend what he can to get these in the navy. Joffery just loves the hell out of this powerful warmachine like a kid in a candy store and I sort of respect that.
>>3567985I kinda want to invite Tyrion up to Port Maw at some point and just spend time talking to him from an intellectual standpoint.
>>3567970>Also, how many of our crew do you all think have been bought by Varys or other spymasters? Has to be at least a few.The same crew that have all just been paid a fortune and admire their captain?
>>3568166Eh, I'm sure there are at least one or two who'd happily pass on whatever rumours are circulating on board for a bit more cash.
>>3567970Oh crap yeah its close now. We need to get production going asap and start fortifying. We should also have a good 1-1 chat with our brother about what is to come and have him shore up his strength as well
>>3567192>>3567391>>3567210You do realize that with like three of these ships and powder Robert could do what no one else has done and take then hold the stepstones right? That would recoup the costs of the whole affiar damn quick in terms of kingdoms, plus unless a storm gets them it's unlikely that will sink at the very least for a decade. So you think unbeatable naval dominance is worth 100k ish gold?Really?
>>3566832>No to sellingCan't dilute our military power right now. Especially not to the crown which will have it when robert kicks the bucket.
>>3568288A moot point since we won't be selling these designs, 24 lb cannon, or engines. Period.
>>3568203I guess it's possible? Considering they've just made enough cash to live comfortably for the rest of their days, gained hero status, have that old bit of northern honor to them, and have the sense of camaraderie after serving together on the greatest ship in exchange in an incredibly successful campaign against hated enemies and riding a victory high, I really doubted bribing any of them to spy on Arthur would be easy. At most they got some tidbits and generally unhelpful info for anyone unfamiliar with industrial age level engineering.
>>3568288I'll take longterm business over a big cash in yeah. That said I don't to sell this ship anyway. Get them set up with an order of 3 of these bad boys, have Manderlay get stated on the ships, and figure out a good way to mass produce the cannons needed for each ship. While doing that we start improving our holds and building that star fort obviously. Gotta make that thing strong and full of cannons in case things go tits up and the war still happens.
>>3568478No. Nobody is getting our engines or cannons.
>>3567397Backing this
>>3567397I agree, something like this is a once in a lifetime effort without proper construction of factories to churn these out.Supporting
>>3567397Dis
>>3568527You realize we can sell the 12-pounder cannons for big bucks to Mannis (since they are associated with naval combat) and win both big income and Mannises trust (trust that we are happy to get rich supplying him with weapons).
You guys do realize that making a cannon isn't actually that hard?Even if you wouldn't sell them 24 pounders, they could always forge a fucking bombard if they wanted to in KL.Granted, forging a cannon takes longer time and thus is more expensive, but a cannon is actually a fairly basic thing.
>TFW you fall asleep on the couch watching shit on netflix and miss all this.>>3566419Yeah that was the plan for a more direct intervention and like >>3566476 says we lacked the funds / had other priorities.>>3566460Yeah, fact is with our current amount of cash, if directly converted from money (discounting what Stark is owed) to Power is equal to 1257 units of it or there abouts. Given how cheap some shit is, we can fund the creation of a decent army, a dozen castles / towers to house them and still have enough funds for a small navy.We are however investing all that into economic shit which should provide a larger, steady stream of money to fund the creation of such an army as well as potentially making it's recruitment cheaper in terms of equipment / more feasible in terms of men.>>3566624>we're nothing but a somewhat effective skirmish force of about half a hundred people. Anon you are severely underestimating how many people crew our warship and are in our existing units of armed forces. We've a unit of garrison, musketmen and god knows how many sailors plus our outrider cavalry. It's not much but it is more than half-a-hundred.I do agree however we need to greatly grow our armed forces or at least create a stockpile of arms and facilities to rapidly train people in using them. Fact is training people to use firearms decently is far quicker than swords or bows which means we can easily replenish our numbers during a war, assuming we can maintain control long enough to train and equip fresh troops.>>3566666>First it was field cannons now it's explosive shells, are we going to have automatics by the time the war starts? I mean, we'll probably have flamethrowers and landmines as well but that is besides the point.>>3566715>Who will be the new mountain klansmen we immolate ourselves to kill?Honestly? Probably some assassin if we rock the boat enough.>>3567516He's a man who, for his whole life, has had to rely on his mind for respect (what little he gets) and power. We just showed up and basically showed him something that sounds like bullshit but works like a miracle and said that it works off of cold, hard, logic.>>3568160That'd be nice. Plus we can have a good time drinking through our herbal alcohol. Maybe even convince him to work against his father.>>3568831I know but seemingly everyone else wants to keep them to ourselves. To be fair, once we're dealing with more advanced pieces, we'll want to keep it in-house so to speak but with this shit where it's just a very thickly walled bell with a hole to light it through, that ain't needed.
>>3568897>Maybe even convince him to work against his fatherSeems unlikely considering it took his father actually ordering his execution for him to finally snap like he did.I don't think he would tattle but it seems a stretch that he would help.
>>3568928>Seems unlikely considering it took his father actually ordering his execution for him to finally snap like he did.>I don't think he would tattle but it seems a stretch that he would help.Yeah true, I'm honestly a bit tired and I wasn't thinking straight.I do think we could convince him to work against his father but when I say that I mostly mean planting the seeds of doubt and hoping he'll betray him for us at a later date.
>>3568928Given as we happen to know, unlike anyone except Tywin and Jaime, that Tysha wasn't actually a prostitute, we should probably look into finding her. If we could return her to Tyrion and have her prove that she's not a prostitute to him, we could make a damn powerful ally.
I am pretty sure can’t sell it anyways since we are the only ones that can do maintenance on the steam engine.
>>3568943That is also a good point, not to mention they'd need to come to us for replacement parts even if they could maintain it.
>>3568931Befriending him is the place to start. Other than Jaime, I don't think he has any genuine friends and he's still drinking and whoring right now.>>3568933Didn't Tywin get his dudes to fuck her shit up? Not sure that it's a good idea, especially considering the fact he still lives at Casterly Rock (as far as I'm aware at this point)>>3568943The engine is a piece of engineering magnificence. Too bad it was massive pain in the ass to actually make.
>>3568946Tyrion seemed really interested in our machine, perhaps he would be interested in coming with us and learn more about them as we work on our next project? He is the only one that seems to appreciate our «genius»
>>3568946>Other than Jaime, I don't think he has any genuine friends and he's still drinking and whoring right now.Yep. If we show our good qualities and shit, he'll trust and respect us. Plus, we can show him some of our half-finished projects and hopefully make him understand that we're about to revolutionise the world, assuming we get the support we need. Generally just convince him we're the good guy and that he can trust us.>Didn't Tywin get his dudes to fuck her shit up?He had her fucked by dozens of his soldiers in front of his son to prove his point that she was a whore and then was given a silver piece for each if I remember rightly. It might've been a single gold dragon for all of them or something.>Too bad it was massive pain in the ass to actually make.Yep. Now we've got to decide if we want to make another, rip the current one out of our ship or otherwise power our industry, assuming we actually set up factories.
>>3568948>He had her fucked by dozens of his soldiers in front of his son to prove his point that she was a whoreI forgot how vindictive Tywin can be. Guess it shouldn't be surprising considering how he protects the Mountain.>>3568947I'd be down for that. Always seemed like a bro-tier kind of guy.
>>3568951>I forgot how vindictive Tywin can be.He has his reasons, even as a dwarf Tyrion can be married off as a pawn in the Grand Game. Letting him marry a lowborn women would be not only a waste, it would dishonour his family. It's still fucked up but it's logical, if admittedly unnecessarily cruel. Like most of what Tywin does.>I'd be down for that. Always seemed like a bro-tier kind of guy.Yep. Plus he has an excellent mind, he might be able to assist us in at least some regards of our estate / research. Maybe he knows some maesters in the citadel or has some books of particular interest to us.
You and Tyrion don't have much in common truth be told
>>3568966but he be a cool imping motherfucker
>>3568966Yeah we're cool and he lame.
Let’s try to find opium and fantasy weed and mass produce to essos
>>3568966True, we've not exactly been one for the drinking and lusting but we can still maintain a fairly good friendship. I mean he got on with the Eunuch who can only do one of those. >>3568979I already made that suggestion.
> Nah brah"It is priceless. There is only one man in this world who can make one of these and you are looking at him.""Do you think it's appropriate when a mere Bannerman's ship outclasses every ship the crown has?"Stannis replies"If the crown wants ships like this, the crown can go and purchase as many as they like from White Harbor and then customize them as they see fit as I have done.""And you won't make another contraption like that?""I'd like you to view this from my perspective. Single ship like this takes me at least three years of personal labor to put together with it's guns and the engine. I've other duties too and this vessel has already earned worldwide renown and nearly half a million dragons worth of treasure in its maiden voyage alone. Can the Crown really afford to offer a reasonable rate for this ship?""Watch your tongue Tallon. Remember you are speaking to royalty."Stannis states grimly"Apologies, but I speak the truth. My advise is that it is far less expensive and far more cost-effective to simply buy ships from White Harbor while ordering such guns as the crown prefers from Port Maw as a ship like this warrants a price of easily over a million dragons thanks to its reputation alone.""The Crown owns great stretches of Land. You could be a Great Lord somewhere else than the North.""I like the North. Lord Eddard's a good liege, why would I cast away a working relationship?"He grunts"I'll be visiting White Harbour again once my duty with your slaves is done.""I'll be looking forward to your continued patronage my prince."You say as you give him a bow"Now, if there's anything else you'd like to see aboard the vessel, I'll be happy to show you. The Cargo hold and powder magazines are a bit full at the moment, but I can still show the less interesting parts of the ship, such as the kitchen if anyone cares for such mundane details. Maybe answer any questions you have?""Is there any way I could study the schematics of the ship or the engine?"Tyrion asks"I am contractually obligated to not maintain any written records of this ship or the Long Night pattern ships. All such documents I used to possess are now maintained by House Manderly. The Engine documents I am afraid are a family secret.""Pity""I can however offer you all complimentary bottles of a Herbal Liqueur produced at Port Maw for partaking in this tour and of course for the younger generation, here's some complimentary bottle rockets from the Tallon Fireworker's guild."You give each of your guests a goodie bag and a handshake followed by bow"I hope the tour has provided some insight to Port Maw's Naval doctrine and to our advances in the field of gunnery and naval engineering. Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you again soon. Have Good Day!"

This obsession with nationalism makes no sense to me. Westeros isn't facing a existential threat from another nation. it's going to go through civil war (potentially) and an attack by magic-cold-demons. It serves little benefit.
>>3569317Will he be happy(er?) once he gets access to a galleon and flintlocks of his own or is he going to be eternally butthurt by us having cooler and better stuff? By the time we fill out any given weapons order for the crown we'll have made something like percussion caps that make the previous generation of weapons obsolete, so this is going to be an eternal problem. And we can't just sell our steam engine, it's a priceless wonder of the world that took years of our life to create. But people like Stannis can't understand the implications it represents and that everyone in the world is staring down the barrel of INDUSTRY. All they can see is that a minor lord has a faster ship than the king and won't give it up.At most we could promise to build him one as soon as we create the industrial base necessary to make one not-by-hand. Of course as soon as we do that we'll be making ironclads...>>3570535>>3569580There were a couple crossbow designs used by the OSS in WW2 too, mostly for killing sentry dogs and the like.
>>3570620Ditto. Anons dont realize we are in not!medieval land, not 1910s Deutschland.
>>3570637Not much point in an ironclad when we can just make the ships hull thicker with wood instead. Not like anyone has explosive ammo at the moment (which is why ironclads were so great). Also, if we want an ironclad we better make a bigass engine since those things weight so much.
>>3570637>Will he be happy(er?) once he gets access to a galleon and flintlocks of his own or is he going to be eternally butthurt by us having cooler and better stuff? He's angry because we, a relatively minor lord, are denying him, a prince and more importantly lord-of-all-things-boat, access to our supership. He's worried about us turning against him / the crown and using a ship that they can't stop to do unimaginable damage and also the fact that we don't seem interested in anything he offered.Imagine if a US senator developed a teleporting missile cruiser that had near endless range for it's weapon systems and then when the president asked him to sell it to him, he said "nah senpai, I want to keep it" even when offered the chance to essentially own a state or something equally insane.>By the time we fill out any given weapons order for the crown we'll have made something like percussion caps that make the previous generation of weapons obsolete, so this is going to be an eternal problem. This is part of the reason I want to do some non-military upgrades and designing for awhile. To ensure when we next pull out all the stops, that everyone else has expended their funds getting to our previous level and also so we actually have the capacity to produce it.Plus, if we start building factories and infrastructure rather than a army, it should calm him down that we aren't about to start a civil war or go and invade Essos or something.>There were a couple crossbow designs used by the OSS in WW2 too, mostly for killing sentry dogs and the like.Yeah, war is weird like that.>>3570639To be fair, a straight-up ironship is something we might want to make. Also I'd point out that there a limits to just how thick of a hull we can make with wood before it becomes unfeasibly thick / heavy where a thinner metal layer would have some advantage in terms of cost / effort to produce.Currently it's not worth it but if cannon start being common (especially the bigger ones) we will probably want to consider it.
>>3570651Agree with industry investments. On the hull, thick-hulled wooden ships were the go-to against solid shot. This is why the sizes of shot went up to ridiculous proportions (42 pound cannon and 68 pound carronade, for example) and wood was sufficient until the advent of explosive shot. Considering the current cost of iron and the fact that we have far better things to do with it than plaster a ship, doesnt seem that useful to me.
>>3570637Considering those ships are bound to underperform compared to yours if there is no explosive shells and considering crown is starting to go on the red?Not gonna mellow by much.Stannis always was a man who doesn't really trust anyone who hasn't proven themselves trustworthy and you aren't exactly open with your dealings.Still, he has great expectations of your competence even if he doesn't really trust you.
>>3570656>Still, he has great expectations of your competence even if he doesn't really trust you.I mean, to be fair, that is probably the right opinion to hold about us considering the shit we've done and how quickly we've done it.
>>3570656And that's completely fair. We haven't given him our firstborn or anything. What we have done so far that benefited him was in parallel with our own profiting. As long as he understands that we are a goldmine that he cannot risk letting switch sides, and thus doesn't do anything to fuck us, I am content.

Now I don't have the time to write this today, so I'd like for you guys to vote exactly how Pro-Robert/Anti-Targaryen are you willing to go with this.We talking full on burning a Targaryen flag and picking up Baratheon flag in turn to send a clear message or something more subdued?
>>3570804Burning the flag is fine. Targaryen are a shot anyways.
>>3570804I'm talking hunting down Viserys and Dany and burning them to death in a public execution level of support
>>3570808Sound time consuming.
>>3570804Nationalism > nobilityRobert and his team of autists can spin it if they want. But houses are not important.
>>3570808pic related>>3570814The point is that "nationalism" is not a concept that exists or is even applicable to our situation. Furthermore, a single event will not create nationalism. The Reachmen will still dislike Stormlanders and Balon will still be jello of everybody outside his ilsles. And without a credible external threat and rapid information networks (continental weekly news, for example) you wont have a chance in hell of making any nationalist movement. Its pointless.Apropo, Freedom is also pretty pointless, seeing as it was already illegal to sell slaves and this is a formality, more than anything. Nobility would have put some actual pressure on nobles and knights to be better instead of be despots and have society judge them based on it. Uplifting your peasants would be the direction, something we could very well use, instead we got people getting hype about slavery still being illegal. Whoop-de-doo.
>>3570825> Celebration of Nobility: "Nobility obligates! My people have demonstrated their nobility in thought and deed! Let the seven hundred be knighted and let millions be inspired!"As it says, its not about giving nobles more power, its about showing excellence and being rewarded with a title - personal growth - and that the title is not laurels to rest upon but a bigger responsibility to do better still - like free brothers in bonds in distant lands.
>>3570804Get a huge Baratheon flag and wave it like it's magic or something. For anti-Targs,make a hollow evil looking 3 headed dragon 8 foot tall out of clay and give the honour to King Robert Baratheon to smash it with his warhammer. After that, get a bunch of sweepers to rid the rubbish to herald the start of the parade.Begone the Targs! Long live King Robert Baratheon!
>>3570804My countrymen. Brothers and sisters of Westeros. For many years, we have been a broken nation; shunned, oppressed, and conquered by those we sought to escape. Even as our ancestors fled the slavers of Essos in order to seek freedom, we were followed by the greatest enemy of all.Valyrians.Cruel dragon-lords they, who do not hesitate feeding their infernal creatures of war with manflesh. They consorted with their own infernal eggspawn, using blood magics to ensure the delivery of their incestuous offsprings in egg form in order to destroy and terrorise. And even though the Gods themselves intervened from their domination of all Creation, smiting the breeding pit of vipers with great fury, a single escaped and made its den in Dragonstone. From there, the Enslaver's fingers grew long and wide, until it covered the entirety of our beloved home. Noble kings, their wise brows crackled black like pigs on a spit. Fair haired knights, brutally burnt down in the fields. Proud lords who had to kneel, if only to spare us all the only kind of diplomacy the Targaryens know: Blood and Fire.Robert Baratheon, Father of His Peoples, stood up against the dragon-lords once their weakened bloodline could no longer sire live eggs from their incestuous bodies. The rest we all know. The Siege of Storm's End, where Stannis held down the vast majority of the Dragon-lovers' horde while subsisting on onions and carrots; the Battles of Summerhall, where our Robert fought and won three different battles in a single day; and the Battle of the Trident, where he personally caved in the chest of that kidnapper and rapist, Rhaegar Targaryen. But that wasn't enough for the Baratheons. They knew that our people remained in the east, chained and castrated by Qartheen maegi and degenerates who are more toad than man, needing the use of palanquins the size of a warship to transport them anywhere. And whose backs were broken by these inane labours? Whose blood spilt for the gluttonous joys of the slaver lords of the east? Baratheons did not forget! For they know that the apparatus of the State is ultimately for the protection of its People. So he came to me.
>>3570804>Kill all Targs, long live the king! Brorathian
>>3570855Five years ago, I asked for time, and that time was granted by the King in order to secure the existence of our people, and a future for our children. An existence for YOU: the strength in my arm, the holders of my dreams... Our forefathers embarked on the greatest exodus in the history of all mankind. An exodus for freedom, Westeros became that freedom. In the time he has given me, I have reunited our people, bringing them home and reminding the entire world that no Westerosi can remain chained! And yet! Despite the righteousness of our king, who does not slake his lusts in incestuous gambits, or feed the good people that believe in the gods, old and new, there are those among his subjects that plot the return of the dragonspawns. Brothers! Sisters! Shall we be chained once more under the weight of the dragons, all because Pentoshi cheesemongers, Braavosi bankers, and Lyseni bird-trainers believe it to be right? Will we abandon our newly found primacy in the world only to return to the time of the Mad Targaryens? The Stag has gained a Tallon, and woe befall those who would seek to deprive the freedom of any Westerosi! From this day, we will stand united once more. On this day, those driven to divide and conquer us will hear our voice! On this day, we shall act as one, and we shall be ignored NO MORE! Defenders of the Westerosi dream, NOW IS OUR TIME!"
>>3570855>Robert Baratheon, Father of His Peoples, stood up against the dragon-lords once their weakened bloodline could no longer sire live eggs from their incestuous bodies.I'd change this, "once their injustice became unbearable and personal, those twisted men breaking oaths of god and men".>Stannis held down the vast majority of the Dragon-lovers' horde while subsisting on onions and carrots;Bit of an odd detail.>So he came to me.No. Nope. Not happening. We're not changing history to see that this was ordered by him. This was undertaken by us, damn the consequences and we shall be known as the breaker-of-chains: not him.6/10 for the effort anon.
Hum, perhaps we could set up latrine for the smallfolk during the festivity using Targaryen flag as toilet paper and have our standard bearers during the parade have two flag, one Baratheon, the other Talon, with the baratheon being above the talon on the pole.Kek, literally have the smallfolk shit on the Targ.
>>3571047Toilet paper hasn't been invented yet. Also, that is likely seen to be in poor taste and would set an inconvenient precedent.
>>3571075Ahhh, alright.Back to just burning then :/If only we had made a flammenwerfer, we could burn it with style at least :(
I'd rather not directly shit on the Targs. It puts too big of a target on our family's back and I'd like to keep options open just in case. In my opinion, we should keep it brief and simple. Talk about our crusades and how "the crown graciously supported them, paying passage and ensuring our people got home." Play up both ourselves and the Crown's role in this without actually coming out and saying anything either way loyalty wise. If we want to direct attention at anything, point out how we sent the slaves to be taken in and returned by the church, but due to the corruption of the higher echelon they aren't even suited to care for themselves much less the people or something. Focus on pushing reformation as we play up our deeds and the crown's.
>>3571109Yeah, pretty much this. Pro-Baratheon is fine, but maybe lay off the anti-Targ sentiment.Don't forget most of our family's friends & allies are former (or at least 'former') Targaryen-ists; we need to walk a careful line, here.
>>3571109>without actually coming out and saying anything either way loyalty wise. Yeah no, that isn’t going to fly, the entire deal with Jon Was to make our loyalties clear in front of a crowd, we cannot NOT say anything about it.You can definitely play down the anti targ stuff if you want, but it most definitely has to be here if you don’t want to be seen as trying to shaft the crown.
>>3571109Anon we explicitly agreed to give a symbol of loyalty. At the very least we need to make some sort of public sign of this fact. I suggest giving the King a pair of our biggest cannons or a discount on purchasing some (20% off or something similarly big) or something.
>>3570804Something more subdued. Talk about the misdeeds of a mad king and the unjust and cruel treatment the Starks suffered. Then how Bobby rode in and saved the realm and how the newly freed men are in good hands under their liege and how Prince Stannis is working to weed out any criminals at home. Basically talk about how shit Aerys was and how Bobby fixed everything and is actually the best king since non-sliced bread. No shitting on or burning of targ flags, no figurine smashing etc. We dont have to act like a child and we already showed the common folk what a great dude we are. We can show them what a great dude Bobby is without becoming Joffrey.
>>3571228>Something more subdued. That seems wise, basically just doing a role-call of everyone that is doing good shit and highlighting we're loyal to them because, unlike the Targs, they are actually competent and seemingly care.
>>3571253I am pretty sure by burning the Starks, the Targ broke the implicit agreement between a feudal lord and his liege, and basically lost legitimacy, might want to talk about that as well.
>>3571259Good point. A lot more weighty arguments can be talked about instead of having a tantrum.
>>3571259Oh yeah, not to mention the whole "they kidnapped a man's woman, he (Robert) was entirely justified in fucking them up" thing. Honestly our whole shtick is basically "The previous royals were incompetent, corrupt, decadent, profligates and probably heretics. The new royals are competent, decent and seriously making a difference to the people, why in all that is holy wouldn't we be loyal?".
>>3571253This sounds good. We should focus on Aerys and Rhaegar specifically, those being the two Targs that went full retard in recent memory. No need to shit on Dany as she hasn't really done anything (yet) and we made a big deal about the Mountain killing kids even if they were targs.
I still think it would be best to build up king Bob without tearing down the Targs (as much as possible, anyway). We don't want to alienate all our family's closest associates & leave them socially & politically isolated.
>>3571228>>3571253I'm down for this, let's not go full retard on the Targ-bashing. Even if they are mostly awful.
>>3571530Well, overall there's a certain nuance I'd always take into consideration and that would be that the Robert's claim to the Iron Throne is based off of his Targaryen blood. Therefore, while Robert doesn't himself mind the Targ hating, it should be remembered he has Targ blood.
>Remove Targ>>3570806>>3570808>>3570834>>3570855>>3570856>>3571047>Don't remove Targ>>3571109>>3571121>>3571228>>3571253>>3571530
Don't worry, it won't be super autistic, but it will be a clear statement that you support Robert over the Targs.

[ 1 ]After months of preparation, the time had come for your glorious Triumph.People from all over the Seven Kingdoms had arrived to bear witness to the rather unusual ceremony that would take place in the Capital. It was well in the evening and the sun was soon beginning to set and honest people would be out of work by now. "Is everything in order officer?"You asked the man in charge of inspecting carriage."The Men are at their best, the musicians have their instruments tuned, the singers say they are ready as soon as you give the order.""And the carriages?""The Carriages are well and good milord. The wheels are checked and the paintings and plunder arrangements are in order.""Standard bearers?""All good""The Freed men?""Wearing their white robes and sandals as requested.""The Mormonts?""Undrilled, but in their uniforms and ready to march at your command.""The Breadwagons and flower petals?""All accounted for milord.""Have I forgotten anything?""We are still awaiting an all-clear from the city itself milord."Your palms are sweaty and you are dressed at your best, waiting for the OK to start your procession through the Gate of the Gods"You as nervous as I am Rickar?""More so than when we faced the Myrish fleets."Signal flag was waved from atop the gates"I guess this is it then. Like we rehearsed."You pull out a horn and sound it, signaling the beginning of the procession"ESCORTS! FOOORWARD! MARCH!"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itQuGl3CC9UThe thunder of boots marching as one could be heard echoing across the land as the first procession made their way towards the city under the rhythm of a grim military march, display the determination of your people. Sadly, you lacked the talent for composing music yourself, so you had to make do with whatever the local composers could do for you, and you did go through many until you came upon one that would be fitting for this Roman-esque procession.
[ 2 ]"ESCOOORTS! HALT!"You cry out from top of your lungs as your procession reaches the gates of the King's Landing and the music stops"ME AND MY MEN SEEK PASSAGE TO OUR CAPITAL IN TRIUMPH!""WHO ARE YOU THAT WOULD REQUEST SUCH A THING!""I AM SER ARTHUR TALLON, LORD OF PORT MAW, INITIATE OF 21 LINKS, AND A CRUSADING KNIGHT OF THE REALM!""AND WHAT FOES HAVE YOU BESTED THAT YOU SHOULD ENTER IN TRIUMPH?""I SANK THE TYROSHI WARFLEETS, OUTNUMBERED THREE HUNDRED TO ONE AT THE SHORES OF THEIR CITY AND LIBERATED OUR COUNTRYMEN FROM ABOMINABLE BONDAGE OF SLAVERY!"You extend a hand towards your procession "I REPEATED THE SAME IN MYR, WHERE WE WERE OUTNUMBERED SIX HUNDRED TO ONE!""IN LYS THEY WOULD NOT EVEN FACE US, SETTING LOOSE OUR COUNTRYMEN AT MERE THREAT OF OUR WRATH! SUCH DEEDS HAVE WE PERFORMED!""YOUR VICTORIES ARE MANY! ENTER IN PEACE SER ARTHUR TALLON! FOR THE KING HAS HEARD OF YOUR DEEDS AND WOULD SEE YOU FOR HIMSELF! THE GATES OF KING'S LANDING ARE OPEN FOR YOU!"Once the Gate was opened, you signaled, for the procession to continue moving, this time, the oppressive beat of marching music would change to the singing of men, the change in tone symbolizing the end of hostilities and beginning of their lives as freed men.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYb9sRLUDyMThe Road was cleared for your procession to advance unobstructed until you reached Cobbler's square where a member of the Kingsguard was waiting."ESCORTS! HALT!""I KNOW YOU TO BE SER ARYS OAKHEART! WE MET AS SQUIRES IN HARRENHAL! WELL MET!""WOULD IT BE SO! TO MEET WITH THE KING YOU MUST MAKE A DIFFICULT CHOICE!""WILL YOU TURN YOUR BACK TO THE TARGARYEN FLAG AND PICK UP KING ROBERT'S BANNER?""OR WIL THEE STAND IN DEFIANCE AGAINST HIM AND RAISE THE DRAGON BANNER?"
[ 3 ]"TIS BUT NO CHOICE AT ALL!"You take the Targaryen banner and the crowd gasps."A KING WHO SPITS UPON THE FEALTY OF HIS SUBJECTS IS NO KING AT ALL!"You say as you thrust the banner to a brazier, conveniently placed between the two banners, setting the Targaryen banner alight."ALL HAIL KING ROBERT BARATHEON! FIRST OF HIS NAME! LET MADNESS NEVER BLIGHT HIS HOUSE!"You say as you wave the Golden Banner of House BaratheonAs you wave the banner, your men chant."ALL HAIL!""ALL HAIL!"You raise your hand to quiet them down."YOU HAVE CHOSEN YOUR KING WISELY! YOU MAY PASS!"As he says that, the Goldcloaks part, leading to a throne upon a tall wooden pedestal covered in silks erected at Cobbler's Square for King Robert to sit upon.As you approach, the music starts playing once again changing to one to elevate tension in the air.>To be continued at a later date
>>3572669King’s landing city planning hurt my eyes.
>>3572672We need to rome that shit
>>3572672Honestly? It's not that bad. Most of the issue is the lack of good promenades sectioning off the city. I mean there are clear main streets but they aren't double the thickness of the others or anything that'd make them noteworthy. >>3572682Nah, clearly we need to go 1900's american city design. Shit should be all geometric: triangles, hexagons, all that good stuff.
>>3572687funny thing is,this is a strategic build for urban warfare.
>>3572672Why, what's wrong with it? Looks like a normal city to me.
>>3572669God I love a good trollWonder how many of the common folk shit themselves
[ 4 ]Your men marched onwards, flanked by Gold Cloaks as you moved towards him, looking at him in the eyes in the high throne whereupon King Robert sat on, watching down on your approach until you and your brother were nearly at the footsteps of the stairs to ascend upon him and then you drew your blade. You dropped on one knee and knelt before your king, presenting your sword in his service across your hands. Like a row of dominoes behind you, your men knelt, one row after another, their gazes to the ground as they did so and the rustle of their gear could be heard behind you.The King arose from his throne and walked down to meet you, putting a hand on your shoulder."Quite the mummer's farce this is.""It was your hand who requested a display of support. I serve at your leisure."He takes the blade from your hands"DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THESE MEN HAVE DONE!?"He says with a booming voice, going off-script"SURE YOU HAVE! WHO HASN'T BY NOW?""ANYONE WOULD THINK IT A TALE FOR CHILDREN WHERE GOOD ALWAYS TRIUMPHS OVER EVIL, BUT BY THE GODS THEY ARE REAL AND THEY HAVE WON!"He walks to your brother"YOUR NAME?""Rickar Tallon, your grace.""Speak up lad, they can't hear you elsewise.""RICKAR TALLON, YOUR GRACE!""NOT ANYMORE YOU'RE NOT!"He taps him to the shoulders with your sword"ARISE A KNIGHT SER RICKAR!" "AND REST OF YOU CAN RISE TOO!"He comes over to you and returns your blade to you, which you slide to your scabbard."CITY WATCH! WE'LL MARCH WITH THEM! THIS IS VICTORY FOR THERE WHOLE BLOODY CONTINENT AND I'LL BE DAMNED IF I'LL THE FESTIVITIES!""TALLONS! TODAY YOU RIDE WITH THE KING OF ANDALS, RHOYNAR AND THE FIRST MEN!"An open topped Royal carriage is brought forth and you and your brother board it with the King, escorted by the Kingsguard.
[ 5 ]The Parade marches on, singing songs of freedom and arrogant songs of war and victory until you reached the Main Square of King's Landing, which was blocked by a long silk ribbon."Finally we are here. I've been looking forward to this ever since I heard there's going to be a wine fountain.""Free Beer, Wine and Bread for all who attend, but naturally, we get the first taste.""As is only proper! This is going to be a party to remember! On top of all this stuff you're pulling off, we're having a right and proper feast at the Red Keep! Places of Honor for the two of you!"The three of you climb down from the carriage."Would your grace do the honors?"You say, holding a part of the ribbon"Ser Barristan! Lend me your sword."You and Rickar grip the ribbon from opposing sides to create tension for it as the King swings the blade to sever it in twain before entering the faire grounds and grabbing a drink from the fountain, moving past the many stalls and stores set up in the square."To Victory and just causes""I'll drink to that.""This wine is terrible Lord Arthur.""It's for getting drunk, it's no Arbor red. Quantity over Quality in this case. Always was more partial of beer to begin with.""Good enough for peasants and soldiers, can't argue with that."You throw the cups to the ground and stomp on them before moving on and resuming the Parade, marching down the muddy way and up the Street of Steel to Great Sept of Baelor to give thanks to the God of War for Victory as Romans did during their time.Every soldier, escort and hanger-on with your parade would like you, take a drink from a fountain and smash the clay cup, partially signifying that they could afford such frivolous spending, partially because it seemed fun at the time.As you reached the Fishmonger square, a choice was given to those who held the Old Gods to not partake in the Religious part of the ceremony and instead mind the guns and fireworks until they whole thing was over and they'd get shore leave. More followed you than stayed behind for whatever reasons.>Next Episode, meeting the High Septon
[ 6 ]And so you and your escorts marched, through the street of steel atop Visenya's hill, the hangers on distributing bread to the workers as you marched on with some freed men and soldiers more beholden to their own Gods staying behind. The Gates of the Great Sept of Baelor opening in front of you and your arms were traded in for scented candles by the holy brothers by the statue of Baelor the Blessed as you rose the marble steps of the building, through the hall of lamps and underneath the enormous glass and crystal dome, built to the scale to rival Saint Peter's Basilica. The Holy Brothers escorted you through to the Warrior's Altar where the walls were painted with many Legendary figures of the past, such figures as Galladon of Morne and Cerwyn the Mirror Shield. Funnily enough, their deeds do not seem so great in wake of what you have accomplished. The Morbidly obese High Septon was holding a gilded ball on chain which wafted the smoke of incense into the air, wearing his crystal crown and fine silken robes. He seems to be sweating a bit as well."The Divines are pleased with what you all have accomplished. There is no question that the Seven who are one will not have a place of honor for all of you in the heavens, for so has it been since the days of Hugor of the Hill that Slavery is the greatest abomination before the Gods! And that those who fight against it are blessed and favored above all the faithful!""What more proof is there needed than these miracles that the God spit upon the slaver? For did they not sent you men unto this earth to punish them for their wickedness!""And for doing the will of Gods, you shall be rewarded, for..."The Septon then went on to a long winded speech about how nobody escapes the Father's Judgement, how the Mother's Mercy reaches all in time, speaking in such a way that it began to sound more akin to a theological thesis than an actual speech."...and therefore, I am privileged be the mediator of the God's Blessings for you, Step forth and be blessed Ser Arthur Tallon."You step up to the altar where you were called to kneel and the High Septon re-anointed you as a Knight with Seven Oils. "For your heroic deeds in service of the Gods, your name shall forever be recorded within the Great Sept's archives as a True Knight of the Faith."He then signals with his hand to one of the Altar boys."Ser Arthur Tallon, I name you a Paragon of Divine Virtue, and I charge within your care a holy item from our reliquary, the Amulet of Baelor the Blessed."It was a small wooden box with a glass lid containing a silver pendant with a small ruby in the middle. "It is said Baelor the Blessed wore this pendant throughout his life when he performed his miracles. You are entrusted to build a sept to house it and to keep it safe from harm." > "If that is the will of the Gods." > "I cannot accept this responsibility."
>>3576538> "If that is the will of the Gods."

>>3576644Or a notre dame
>>3576538> "If that is the will of the Gods."Perhaps we should start supporting the sparrow in the future... I imagine it would mix very well with the new fervor from "WINNING, WE CANNOT STOP WINNING GENTLEMEN, EVEN I SAY: NO MORE WINNING, YET WE STILL KEEP ON WINNING!
>>3576552Well, more like free* relic. *must build fancy & secure church to hold relic. If relic goes missing it's your ass. Q.M. will almost certainly cause relic to go missing at some point as a plot hook. Nonetheless, I vote:>"If that is the will of the Gods."
>>3576644>>3576645You think so small....
>>3576715True but this does have some serious potential benefits. I mean if nothing else we'll get a constant influx of pilgrims to see such a important artefact (not to mention the holy lord who holds it). Plus it'll be useful against any religious sorts.Plus maybe if we're lucky it has some degree of magic attached to it, even if only the basic and bog-standard "actual healing artefact" benefit to healing.
>>3576538> "If that is the will of the Gods."Use this shit as a filter so we can make, bottle and sell "blessed water".

I don't think the clergy will complain if we commission a number of replicas (maybe 7?) with the specific intent of making the real one harder to steal, it would just add to the mystique of our cathedral. This way we can keep one on display in public for the smallfolk to ogle and no one will look sideways at us for wearing a "fake" one. We can make a show of bringing out the real one whenever a special event or ceremony arises.>>3576571>Trappist septThat's a great idea, as well as the faith of the 7 we could have them focus on practical things like healing and brewing. Might also be a good way of giving the smallfolk a public education. I think we can drop the vow of silence though.

> Take it[ 1 ]"If that is what the gods will."He puts his hand on your shoulder and bellows"Be blessed and arise! May the seven who are one watch over you and protect you from evil!"You rise, light your candle and place it on the Warrior's altar and move on out of the central part of the temple as the High Septon proceeded to anoint and bless your brother before blessing each of the men who followed you individually. The Ceremony lasted a while, blessing hundreds of men would still take easily couple of hours, but if gave you a chance to sit at one of the pews and marvel at the architecture.Shortly afterwards, Rickar arrived and came to take a seat next to you as men came pouring out in about 15 second intervals."So, feeling holier yet?"He thinks for a moment before speaking out"I can feel this is a somber and holy place. Much love has been given to it's care and construction.""It's well built, I give them that. Albeit, I do believe more fasting would help the health of our High Septon.""Perhaps he wishes not to share the fate of Baelor."He responds tactfully"Fair enough I suppose."You look to the sky through the glass dome and notice the stars are starting to appear."It's soon time for the fireworks and cannon salute, after which a solid few days of partying.""That it is. It's been quite an adventure.""You hear about the lands you're getting yet?""It's an Island with a Castle in some minor disrepair. Supposedly belonged to one of the Knights of Aegon long time ago.""You need anything to settle in?""Well, I could do with a proper ship truth be told, and someone to teach me how to sail.""I'll see what I can do. Prince Stannis should have many people under his service who are of maritime persuasion. Ser Davos is a good man and knows his stuff for one.""The Onion Knight?""That's the one. Also, don't mind Stannis' dour disposition, he is a harsh man, but as long as you keep your nose clean, there's niot going to be problems on that end. He has a sense of honor. He doesn't really like the game.""I'll keep that in mind."After an hour or so, the last of the men made it through and you led them outside where they were returned their arms. You all took a nice position on the side of Visenya's hill in the Sept's Garden and sat with eyes to the docks down below.Shortly afterwards, the bells of the Great Sept began to ring and once they were finished, the sound of gunfire could be heard in the distance. The Ship had began it's broadside ripple and once it was done, cheers could be heard all the way up to the Great Sept itself.Following the gun barrage, rockets began flying to the sky, simple ones for sure, but in great number. Several hundred of them were launched across the ocean, big and small, in nearly continuous barrage, filling the air with sound of explosions and the night sky with sparks and smoke.
[ 2 ]The Central square was packed with people partaking in revelry. Even the High Septon himself had come out to watch the spectacle. The Party had officially started. Once the fireworks were done, the procession returned to the ship to return their guns and for most, it was time for shore leave. The Ship was heavily guarded during the Parade as well to prevent anyone from entering or exiting, albeit not by your men sadly. Still, the hatches and doors were locked to prevent entry without blowing a hole into the ship or breaking a window, which hadn't happened. You and your brother however, would continue on to Red Keep to drink and dine with the King for a few more days. > Roll Awareness 3d6

>>3578806To be honest anon, I'm amazed it took them this long to get an assassin in position. What really pisses me off is we're probably not going to find out who hired him and that complicates matters since it will prevent counter-strikes or having the crown attack them assuming this isn't an attack by the crown but if it is jesus they are bad.>>3578810Probably. I mean it is a heavy crossbow and we aren't wearing our Commissar uniform (I think) which means no major protection. Although if we are wearing that then we should be fine so long as it hits us in the breastplate.
