Last time, on Dragon Ball Tuffle Quest Kai! As Gohan helps Trip deal with a resurgent Dark Phantom, you arrive on planet Imecka to search for more clues on Giru’s origins and encounter not only more mechanical monstrosities and a Black Star Dragon Ball, but a clash between a group of freedom fighters and the tyrant ruling Imecka. What’s more, a robotic alien that called itself “Mugen” has some connection to the mechanical monsters and potentially Basilea as well, and is seeking out Ledgic, with his next lead being the Ginyu Force! Who is this mysterious new presence, and what connection might he have to Giru’s origins? Good luck, Peppa!

With everyone on the ship, mom paces back and forth for a moment. “Well, this complicates things. He’s going to be after them... because of me.”

“I haven’t heard anything about an individual like this from the Galactic Patrol, but we can operate on the idea that he won’t be especially friendly towards us.” Raditz adds. “Given that he sent those things after Peppa and myself.”

“He is looking for Ledgic, is he not?” 19 asks. “Then perhaps it would be best to give him what he wants to prevent him from attempting to journey to Earth.”

“We don’t exactly know what his intentions are, though. Handing Ledgic over could cause even further problems.” Videl adds in, Giru sitting in her lap. “And we still have another lead on this guy to follow, right?” She pats the little robot gently.

Mom nods. “We do. Next stop should be Monmaasu, the planet of giants. Not only has Hassan been there recently, but some of the Bombus farms spotted a figure resembling Basilea in that area. I’ll be going to Tarble’s world, though, since the Ginyus are due to arrive in the area with Kuriza.”

It's your fly girl Peppa, and we in Meteor Herd
You ready to go in space? Help me get the Dragon Balls

Took a shuttle to space, and left my homes
At least with friends, and I'm not all alone
Bad thing was that the Dragon Balls spilled
Gotta search space, man, time to get in
What's this? Can't fly or climb
I just could float, hope I don't die
Meteors coming my way, weavin', gotta go straight
Ain't a criminal, crime don't pay
What a crazy game, spaceship race

Don't let it hit you, move
Don't let it hit you, move
Don't let it hit you, move, move
Don't let it hit you, move
Don't let it get your groove

“I’d like to go with you, mom. You could use some backup.” you tell her.

“I don’t know, Peppa.” She rubs her chin. “It might be better to have someone who can use Instant Transmission elsewhere.”

“We’ll keep in contact.” Pantea assures her. “If we need some teleportation assistance, we’ll let you know.”

“Count me in for that too, then.” Videl speaks up, handing Giru over to Pantea. “I’m sure you guys can handle whatever comes up on your own.”

“Heh, of course we can.” Raditz comments assuredly, smirking.

“Mmh. Fine. But don’t hesitate to contact us if something goes south.” Mom places her fingers on her forehead. “Okay, let’s see...” As you and Videl place your hands on her shoulders, she locks on to someone and teleports away. You appear next to Guldo, who grins upon seeing Maple.

“Well hello again! It has been a bit since we last met.” the green, four-eyed alien greets. You all seem to be on Kuriza’s ship, entering the atmosphere of a planet.

“Ah! Good to see you all again!” Captain Ginyu greets. “So what’s this about someone going after us?”

Mom gets to explaining the situation in full as the ship lands, Kuriza approaching you all. “Ah! Mrs. Maple, hello again!” he calls out happily, the koala-like alien near him pouting slightly. Kuriza then notices you and Videl, and sighs. “And hello again, Peppa. Videl.”

“Hey Kuriza!” you greet cheerfully. “How’s it been?”

“Mmh.” he mumbles.

“My Lord, we cannot delay this meeting. Prince Tarble did request this of us.” the koala alien reminds him.

“Yes yes. Listen, if you all have business with me, talk while I head there.” Kuriza comments, heading away. Doing just that, mom approaches him, filling him in on the situation as well.

Jeice scratches his head. “Well this is a bit of a pickle. That Ledgic guy’s still a thorn in our sides even after Maple took ‘em down.”

“What’s this meeting you’re going to, anyway?” Videl asks him.

Jeice sighs. “Ah, that. Well, y’ see, apparently some pirates have been harassing Tarble’s planet. The problem is that apparently they’ve got links to the PTO-” Videl’s eyes squint at him. “-er, not under Lord Kuriza’s orders, that is. But we have noticed some irregularities in ship logs as of late. Tarble himself isn’t too pleased about this, so Lord Kuriza’s decided to appear before him personally to try and settle this matter.”

Outside, you notice the planet’s a bit more arid than you were expecting. Not as much as Imecka, but the air’s fairly dry. And up in the sky above is a gigantic and beautiful Saturn-like ring.

>A. Hey, Kuriza, how’ve you been? We didn’t talk much during the Tournament

Ahh, they’re so pretty! You take a quick picture with your goggles. Cocoa’s gonna love that. With that done, you approach Kuriza. “So hey, how’s it been? We didn’t really talk much during the Tournament.”

“Indeed we did not. Congratulations on your victory, by the way.” Kuriza responds, trying to be polite, but you can tell there’s a bit of irritation in his voice. “I have been rather busy since then.”

“Lord Kuriza has been trying to consolidate the Planet Trade Organization’s dealings as of late. That there are pirates running around unaccounted for further reinforces the need that he see to make sure these matters don’t spiral out of control.” the alien attendant tells you.

“Thank you for the reminder, Sorbet. Again.” Kuriza grumbles. He then mutters, “Telling me this thirteen times previously didn’t quite stick the landing, but this one certainly will.”

“My Lord, as much as your troops appreciate the sarcasm, it is rather uncooth in diplomatic matters.”

“Yes, yes. I’ll keep that in mind.” Kuriza glances at you again as you all approach a large, domed building. Huh, looks a bit like a greenhouse. Small aliens flank the path leading to it, all with small firearms at their sides and standing at attention. “I have not had much time to devote elsewhere, Peppa. I do hope that answers your question.”

“Heh, sorry to hear that.” You rub the back of your neck. “Oh! If you have been keeping tabs on this, maybe you’ve noticed something too. Do you recall the red demon lady I fought in the preliminary round?”

“I vaguely recall her. The one with the bizarre vendetta against you, who tried to brutalize you and make her watch.” He motions his thumb at Videl. “Only to suffer a rather humiliating defeat at your hand. Much like Vegeta did.” Kuriza looks forward, smirking.

Aha! “Yeah, that’s the one! Her name is Basilea. She’s been fairly busy since then herself. We’ve seen sign of her on a couple planets already, Imecka and Brench. She’s going around causing all sorts of trouble. Could be a connection to whatever these pirates you’re seeking are up to. Have they been trying to locate any hidden treasures or something?”

“...Nnnot that I am aware of, no.” Kuriza responds, squinting at you. “Sorbet?”

“Rest assured, Lord Kuriza, if they are, we will get to the bottom of this.”

“Good.”

“Hmm... have you been having any trouble with some of your family’s old followers?” you ask the alien boy. “You know, those loyal to King Cold, Cooler, and your father?”

A visible twitch is noticeable in his eye. “Not in the last few years, no. I have made sure to keep them in line. A few rabble-rousers still try to cause trouble, but none are quite capable of making any challenge to me.”

“But maybe they’re linked to this piracy thing too! It could be they’re making no direct moves against you, but trying to start things under your nose.” You snap your fingers. “And I betcha someone like Towa or her lackeys, like Basilea, could have their fingers in this pie.”

You hear a groan come from him as he squints at you, frowning hard, about to say something, but deciding not to reply with more than a “I will look into it.”

“Uhh... are you... mad about something, Kuriza? Don’t mean to offend, but you seem rather agitated. Is something else bothering you?”

He sighs loudly. “I have numerous things I am dealing with already. I appreciate you giving me the warning about this Basilea person, and trying to help uncover the ones responsible for my coming here. But I do not need much more commentary unless you have a solid lead on what you are speculating over. Now are you done, or do you need something else from me? I don’t have all day, Peppa.”

“Okay, sorry.” You back away. Yyyeah he’s mad about something, but he’s not going to directly say what. And you are kinda poking the hornet’s nest here. “I’ll give you some space then.”

“Thank you.” Kuriza places his hands behind his back as he enters the building with all of you. Turns out it is indeed a greenhouse, but not just any greenhouse. One large enough to hold a decently sized island inside, the air feeling almost tropical, with several decently sized and important-looking buildings scattered around fairly pretty scenery. A bridge connects the entrance to the island, and on the other side stands Tarble, flanked by his wife and several more guards. He and Kuriza exchange formal greetings, then requests the rest of you stay outside until called for.

Tarble does, however, show a bit warmer reception towards you and Videl, addressing you especially. “I must say it was surprising to see you claim victory against my brother like that, Son Peppa. I trust he is holding up his end of the bargain?”

“Yep! He’s been spending much more time with his son. Not left the planet once since the Tournament.” you affirm.

“And Mrs. Maple, it is good to have you here, we may request you to help mediate some things for us. But for now, I would like to do this on my own.”

“Understandable, Prince Tarble.” she replies and nods. “Good luck in there.”

“Though given what Kuriza told me...” He looks towards a taller alien, one about the size of you. “Vitis, can you show them some of the recordings we have of pirate activity? It’d help get them up to speed too.”

“Certainly, my Prince.” The alien calls for a datapad and starts scrolling through it.

“Fah! Whatever would-be pirates running around are no match for the illustrious Ginyu Force! Right boys?!” Ginyu calls out.

“AYE, CAPTAIN!” the rest respond, striking a post together. Man, how often do they practice that? ...Probably more often than even mom. Always coming up with new ones she thinks are cool.

Maple and Pantea have some details on it.

>>3561246
“Say, Captain Ginyu, what do you plan to do should that Mugen guy show up asking for you?”

“Depends on his intentions!” the purple, horned alien replies cheerfully. “We would do what we can to get why he wants to know where Ledgic is. Should he prove cordial, perhaps just seeking to enact vengeance against an old foe, we’d inform him that Ledgic has been soundly defeated!” He emphasizes that with a pose and a fist pump. “If he is seeking an alliance with Ledgic, we’d keep him off your trail.”

“You’d really protect the Earth for us like that?” Videl asks.

“We owe you all, especially Maple.” Ginyu tells her. “Bailed us out a couple times, and finally stopped that old foe who humiliated us.”

Mom smiles bashfully, but you’re still curious. “What if he starts picking a fight? Will your Five-Man-Fusion thing be able to hold him off, or might that run out of steam?”

“Well... our Fusion does have some drawbacks still, but the power should be more than enough.” Guldo adds. “Still, picking a fight could require some tactical retreats. Luckily, I’ve got that covered!”

“Of course, not like it’ll come to that.” Burter adds in. “Not with MY speed at least!” The rest of the Ginyus all start hyping each other up a bit, cheering out some of their talents.

Moving to the datapad that the alien Tarble addressed, Vitis, is looking over, you see a few pictures of individuals in PTO armor, for sure, but what little there is seems to be fairly blurry. Body types seem to be mostly humanoid, nothing too outlandish, but all covered in armor and masks. “Is that really all you have on them? Fairly sneaky for space pirates.”

“Ah, but recently we did manage to capture a clearer picture.” the alien informs you. “Though you are correct. Most of the time they hit smaller targets, just taking off with money or supplies. Tend to be very quick attacks, too. Come in out of nowhere, leave without making too much of a scene.”

All of you gather closer around the datapad, crowding over the little alien. He motions for you all to move, finally reaching what he was looking for. It’s... wait. The heck is that? It looks like a large machine, but it’s all decked out in PTO-esque armor. A towering robot armed with a wheel underneath it... you think. It’s carrying around a large container with a curious blue, rocky substance inside.

“...Huh. Looks like one of the training robots Lord Kuriza spars against.” Captain Ginyu comments. “Now how the heck did they end up with one of THOSE?”

“What do you mean?” Maple asks him.

“They’re powerful machines used to keep his honor guard in shape, and for himself to train against, but they aren’t self-aware. They’re just machines. Which means somehow this group stole one.”

“...Or was gifted one.” Videl speculates. “Maybe even just the designs for it. You guys might have one of the engineers working on them responsible for it ending up in the wrong hands.”

“Could also be a spy.” Guldo adds in.

“Whatever it is, it was unaffected by our weaponry and made off with an enormous amount of Blue Aurum.” the alien with the datapad tells you all.

Just then, you see someone come out and ask for Maple to join in with Kuriza and Tarble’s discussion. Mom nods and heads off. “You guys keep in contact if you go anywhere. I’ll see what I can do to help.”

“Hmm... probably for the best to see where they were last, then.” you comment to Videl. “The place they were stealing that mineral. Maybe some clues are still around?”

“Possibly. Do you think you’d let us search there? Maybe there’s something we can help with.” she asks the alien.

With a shrug he responds, “Eh, not my job. You’ll have to get permission from some higher ups.”

Videl taps her chin. “...Juuuust a sec.” Looking towards the building Tarble and Kuriza are in, she’s quiet for a moment. Then, she smirks. “Okay, looks we’ve got permission.”

Jeice’s scouter seems to activate as well. “Uhh, looks like I’m accompanying ya? Order from the boss.”

“Right, okay.” Vitis taps on his datapad again. “It’s off near Wineport Industrial center, here...” He shows you a map and a route to follow. “Try not to cause any big fuss out there, it’s got some really antsy folks around because of the theft.”

“Hey we’ll be back before ya’ know it mate.” Jeice tells the little alien with a smirk. “Okay, so we good? We good. Ladies, let’s go!”

You exit the greenhouse dome and head out into the land outside, taking to the air. Looking around, you pass by a few larger cities, and several more greenhouse domes. You even notice a thunderstorm in the distance and... is that a tornado? “Quite an Earthlike planet, all things considered. Even the gravity feels about the same. Though what’s with these domes?”

“Ah that? ‘s a remnant of Tarbles environmental protection program. Tech-Tech used to be significantly more polluted, trashy, industrial. Tarble helped change that around, helped the environment clear up.” Jeice tells you.

“Huh, didn’t take you for the type to be interested in that kind of thing.” Videl comments with a surprised smile.

“More ‘cause it increased its market value back in the day. Planet wasn’t worth much back in the day because of how run down it got. Nowhere near the price of even a place like Earth would fetch.” Jeice explains, Videl’s smile fading into a glare. “...Eheh. You know, before the whole business model changed and such. Kuriza’s very inclined to keep things more economical, even if it has gotten a few old soldiers a little huffy from time to time.”

“The Ginyus don’t seem to be suffering much from this changeover.” you add in, seeing a couple large bug creatures battling as... a few robots march along some rocky terrain with more of the aliens beside them.

“We still see plenty of action keeping rebellions in line. Kuriza doesn’t need to deal with each and every one personally, you know. Plus now we have even more adoring fans. Heh, not even my baseball career can compare.”

Still unamused but not wanting to drag this out further, Videl lets the topic go as you all arrive at the coordinates you were told, a massive factory nearly the size of a city. Jeice catches up one of the people in charge, who directs you to the scene of the crime. You move past several saucer-like ships in the middle of construction, production lines busy and loud, until finally you’re brought to what seems to be a landing zone. The person Jeice talked to wishes you all luck and heads back to work. Eyeing the area up, you notice that there seem to be some skid marks and burn marks that have been cleaned up haphazardly, a few dents in the metallic floor, and some odd protrusions all around. Small metallic spires, like metal shavings growing out of the floor. Seem to be concentrated most around the landing pad, but some are by what looks like a recently repaired door.

“Hmm... I see some security cameras around the area. At least, they look like security cameras.” you comment aloud as you spot what seem to be just that, small, spherical devices in a few key locations around the port. “Think they might have recorded some things about the theft? Maybe there’s still video.”

“Probably. They did have that photo of the strange machine taken.” Videl replies.

“Anything they told you?”

“Not much more than we know already. I’m guessing whatever video evidence of the theft they have would tell us mostly the same thing... but...” She checks on one of the cameras near the landing pad. “...I think I can figure out which one of these that picture is from. The angle and where it was pointed.” Videl floats around, looking between the cameras and the landing pad. “Peppa, check for a path around... there!” She points out.

You move closer, leaning down. Strong scents of metals, some motor oil kind of bits too. Egh, and something sulfurous. And... wait. That’s... oddly familiar. You move a bit closer, carefully brushing away some of the metal shavings (which prove to be significantly less attached than they appear) and- uh-oh. “Videl. Videl there’s a patch of silvery metal here! Not at all like the floor around it.” You back up slightly. “...These things are exceptionally unusual. Like... they were trying to grow out of the floor, almost like metallic flora.”

“Jeice, can you double check with whoever’s in charge for a video of that? Maybe there are more clues than we realized.” Videl asks, looking over the probable path from where the machine moved.

“On it!”

You check out the landing pad, where there’s the greatest concentration of these metal shavings. There’s also a trail of blast marks that seem to correspond with the shavings of metal. Curious. Very curious. And under each one seems to be a bit of that same kind of silvery splash. And the more you look at them, the more they look just like the stuff on Brench and Imecka.

Jeice returns. “Well well kid, looks like you were on to somethin’ there.”

“Yeah? What’s up?”

“Bit of a firefight between those security mechs and the rogue training bot. Well, less firefight and more them trying to damage it and barely succeeding.” The red alien moves to one of the dents in the floor, closer to the door. “However, something different happened around here. One of the blasts hit a chunk of Blue Aurum, size of a pebble. Stopped the machine with a bit of electrical discharge, and it was sparking all the way to the ship it was from. Didn’t slow down though, and didn’t suffer much more damage than that.”

Videl crosses her arms. “So... that substance, was it what caused this?”

“Probably something to do with the rogue robot.” Jeice tells her. “Whatever’s inside it, it isn’t normal.”

You then feel... something move beneath you. Not exceptionally strong, but big. Big and alive. A ki signature. One that feels very familiar. Jeice’s scouter picks up on it as he looks down. Videl’s body tensing up.

You power up to catch its attention. “I’ll lure it away from here!”

“Okay, we’ll evacuate the area!” Videl yells back as you start dashing away with Jeice. The Ki signature moves closer, and you feel the presence grow stronger. You move back, keeping careful watch over the thing. Closer... closer... NOW!

Spiraling from the ground sprouts a mechanical serpentine monster, chattering maw snapping at where you were standing, looking vaguely like some kind of hellish garbage disposal. But you’ve already jumped into the air, avoiding its initial attack, firing a Ki blast into its big dumb head. It seems like one big collection of those metal shavings you saw previously, and as you fire down into it you realize the thing is barely even held together. More like a loose connection of... smaller machines. Nanomachines. Crap crap crap CRAP!

Its body sort of... splashes into the metallic floor, but pulls itself back together quickly, taking some chunks of the floor with it as it does. The monstrous machine slithers closer, revealing its true size to be about that of the whole landing pad. Agh... gotta get it out of here! “HEY BUDDY! UP HERE!” you yell out. Its head looks towards you, letting out a noise that sounds like a slowed down dial-up modem from hell, high in volume but eerily and unnaturally soft.

https://youtu.be/IF2v32xCD0Y

With that ear-piercing noise over, it... lifts into the air, a bluish glow surrounding its body. It... oh come on! OH COME ON, IT CAN FLY?! The machine gives chase, and you keep moving, leading it away from the industrial center as best you can as it snakes through the air after you, keeping up a few Ki blasts to keep its attention, none strong enough to cause it to splash down again like it did.

Finally a good distance away, you land on top of a small rocky hill, your Ki rising. Just have to keep it away from civilization and do everything in your power to not get hit by it. Come on Peppa, you can do this!

The serpentine mechanical beast slithers towards you in the air, letting out the same terrible sound as before. Can’t quite spot a weak point anywhere, but at least now it’s been drawn out of the industrial center. Can’t sense much else around, thankfully, just a few animals in the distance. Getting too close might be a bad idea, but you can’t risk letting any of it getting away either.

Hmm, I wonder if having the Geonosis dogfight right now would be blowing our load too early? Ooh, maybe we should save it for Basilea. I hope the ring's made out of that material the tourney ring was made out of, where it was super weak against physical strikes but strong against ki energy.

Okay, here goes! “RAIO-KEN!” As your aura sparks to life around you, you carefully swerve out of the way of the nanomachine monster as it makes a lunge at you. Using the Clothes Beam, you start to wrap the monster up in the elastic PTO armor material. The nanomachines inside try to tear at it, but its elasticity of it proves to make it a bit too “chewy” for the monster’s liking.

Still able to stay airborne, it follows atfter you as you speed away. Okay, not near any civilians, but still dangerous, and merely blasting it away isn’t going to do any good. Come on, gotta think of something... wait, that thunderstorm you saw before! AHA! You keep up the pace and lead the monster right into it, the sparks from your Raio-ken leaving a little trail that draws electricity to it. A bolt of lightning hits the robotic snake beast, causing it to let out a more pained sound than before.

And looks like that slowed the thing just a bit. Good. You’ve got a plan!

>A. Keep letting it get hit by lightning and wear it down!
>B. Bring out your Power Pole and extend it, using the charge from your Raio-ken to help draw the electricity in the air to it while stabbing it into the beast, using it as a lightning rod!

You draw out the Power Pole and cry out, “EXTEND!” and let it jet into the clouds. Your sparking aura draws some of the electricity in the air to it... a little too well, as lightning starts to strike the pole before you were really ready for it. Ow ow ow gah your tail’s numb! Tail’s numb! Agh no shake it off shake it off! As you recover you notice the monster... building up Ki? What the-

“OW!”

A beam of energy hits you right as you recover. Okay that is IT no more Miss Nice Peppa! You grip the Power Pole tight, this time prepared when the lightning strikes again. You make sure the monster’s nice and close, then smack the pole right down its “maw”, lighting hitting the staff again and electrifying the whole thing. And then lightning strikes again. And a third time. The beast seems to run out of steam once a fourth bolt hits, and it crashes down into the ground... its body sort of “splashing” across it as it does.

The Power Pole retracts in your hands and you fly closer. Looks like the Clothes Beam managed to contain a bit of it, and most of the thing looks like it’s too damaged to keep going. But... not all of it. There’s movement, chunks of the nanomachines trying to congregate together.

>A. Hit the last bits with lightning, make sure they don’t recover

Can’t risk this thing getting back together. You bring your hands back and charge up your energy, carefully noticing every last bit of still moving nanomachines. Firing Ki blasts at each and every one, you make sure you blast away until there’s nothing left. You exhale deeply once it’s over, flying down to to look over the craters you made, the rain and lightning still pouring down around you.

In one crater, you notice something strange. A skeletal structure, tainted a dulled silver, vaguely resembling a broken hagfish or lamprey. Sort of... resembles the larger mechanical beast you just took down. Did it get infected by that nanomachine virus? Poor thing...

‘Peppa, I’m sensing that you took care of that monster. There was another in here that Jeice and I just finished stopping it.’ Videl contacts you.

Rubbing the side of your head, you respond. “Yeah, it’s definitely dead now.”

‘Good, because whatever it was, it seems to have drawn something’s attention. A ship just appeared in this system and it’s got all the aliens here very antsy.’

“The pirates?”

‘Could be.’

>A. Let’s regroup with mom, then, she’s probably got a plan already

“I think we should regroup with mom, then. She’ll have a plan for this already.” You tap your fingers to your forehead, heading off to collect Videl and Jeice. As you arrive, though, you notice Jeice has a strange scratch on his arm, one of the aliens tending to his wound.

“Thanks Sheila, but it’s just a nick, really.” he tries to protest, but winces.

“What happened?” you ask, Videl placing her hand on your shoulder.

“The thing that attacked us was like an oversized jellyfish, about the size of a racehorse, shambling across the surface and eating up parts of the floor as it went. We kept it from flying off, but it let out some blasts of Ki, some of them hitting him. One got through his armor and hit his shoulder.” She frowns. “Skin isn’t turning silver, is it?”

“Nah, I’m fine, really!” Jeice replies, getting to you. “Huh... so you do have that trick too.” he comments, noticing you’re about to use Instant Transmission again. “Hah, Burter’s been trying to learn it for a while now. Best way to up his speed, he says.”

You laugh, but get back to business, and teleport the three of you back to mom, finding her standing with the other Ginyus, Tarble, and Kuriza’s groups inside the domed greenhouse near a large screen. “Okay, good you’re all back.” Maple motions for you all to get to the screen. “So it does appear that this is a stolen PTO ship.” She points to it.

“Yes.” Sorbet nods. “There’s a clear shot of the serial number as well. I’m actually aware of this one, it was taken from us a couple months ago from Planet Number C Six- ...er, planet Zalt. Records indicated, however, it was destroyed in the attempted theft.”

“Evidently not.” Kuriza crosses his arms. “We will need to keep better tabs on this sort of thing. Still, I hope this proves our intentions are as we claim.”

“It does look that way, yes.” Tarble affirms. “Still, they should be able to pick up that your ship is here, shouldn’t they? Why still approach?”

“In either case, they’re about to enter the atmosphere. Trajectory shows them headed for a large body of water...” The map switches to one of the planet, with a landing spot zoomed in on. “Right here.”

“Razin Bay.” Tarble notes. “It’s still a fairly polluted part of the Dolma Sea. What business they have there, I have no idea.”

“So, is there a plan?” you ask.

“The agreement we’ve reached is that Kuriza will confront them personally, while I’ll try to sneak on-board. We need most of the rest of us to stay back just in case they try and make a run for it.”

“Prince Tarble! Prince Tarble!” the little alien who you spoke with earlier calls out. “Another, significantly larger ship has entered the system, but it’s vanished from all sensors.”

“Wait, how? Did it show up and leave?”

“We don’t know, sir. But it entered the system and just... vanished. The most we could tell is it was huge, at least ten times the size of Kuriza’s ship.”

Mom looks skyward. “...Not sensing anything approach other than the few people on the first ship. Maybe it did leave.” Shaking her head, she adds, “But betting on our luck, it’s just hiding somewhere here still.”

>A. Mom, let me come with you, I can teleport too!

“Okay, I can play backup then. Best of luck, mom.” you tell her cheerfully.

“Should we really be ignoring that other ship, though?” Videl asks. “It could be related to the one about to touch down.”

Placing your hands behind your head, you respond, “Eh, it could be just we’ve got some good luck today, and it really did decide to leave. Probably not, but hey, it’s not hurting anyone.”

“If we are quite done with this, we best get a move on.” Kuriza declares. “The sooner we deal with these pirates, the better.”

And so all of you take off, mom and Kuriza moving ahead. The little lizard alien seems to have his mood brighten a bit when you hear mom challenge him to a race, the two of them bolting off, Maple informing you all to keep in contact should anything start to go south. The Ginyus try to give chase, but mom and Kuriza have too much of a head start on them. Tarble flies closer to you, uneasy. “I think the pressure’s getting to him.”

“Pressure?”

“Trying to keep everything his father brought under his control while not following in his footsteps, having advisors breathing down his neck, scrutinizing everything he does. He needs shows of force to remind them that he’s in charge... but I’m certain now that he kinda hates it. He’s still fairly young. I could sense his unease while we were talking.” Tarble looks to you. “I worry it might start setting him down a darker path than he really wants.”

“...I see. I did kinda get the impression he was mad about something. Maybe he does need someone to talk with about this.” You look in the direction of Kuriza, lowering your Ki as you near the area. Large, mostly empty cove... with a PTO ship landing near the shore. You watch as the top of it opens, revealing two figures and that machine you saw previously.

Kuriza makes his presence known immediately, powering up enough to not only catch their attention, but send a clear message to them. You get a closer look at the humanoid figures... seem to be quite tall individuals. But they’re all covered up in armor, and with their faces obscured by masks. The air is tense as they stand before Kuriza silently... but it’s not any of them who speak up.

It’s the supposed training robot.

In an oddly cordial tone, it exclaims, “Ah, Lord Kuriza. It is good that we have finally met. We have so, so much to discuss!”

Kuriza tilts his head. “Well, first one of you I’ve seen that’s rather chatty. You operating by remote control, robot?”

“What an interesting question.” the robot responds suspiciously. “Perhaps it is as you assume. What will you do then?”

“Then I will ask the one in control of this ridiculous operation cease immediately.” Kuriza demands, his tail hitting the ground. “Your theft of this ship, your piracy against this and any other planets. Immediate surrender, with the one leading this operation turning himself over.”

“And should we refuse to comply, you will make us? Perhaps, not the best move.” The robot brings its... well you think that’s a hand, to its chin. “Because we are doing this for the good of your Empire, Lord Kuriza.”

He rolls his eyes. “Spare me. We are above the need for such uncooth measures. Especially since you seem to be targeting rather resource-poor planets. If it is an itch to fight and conquer you require, then you are doing a rather poor job at that, too.”

“Neither, Lord Kuriza.” The robot waves its “hand” in the air. “We are engaging in diplomacy.”

“What, trying to threaten Tarble to the point where he’ll join us ‘willingly’ or something? If that was your intention, then I can assure you, it’s done nothing to help your cause.”

The machine looks in... your direction. Tarble gulps. “...It shouldn’t know we’re here. Right?”

“Shouldn’t. Might.” Videl replies to him.

“Ah, Prince Tarble. One of the last Saiyans in the universe. Oh no no no. We need not form any alliances with Saiyans like him.” The robot looks right to Kuriza. “The allies we intend to make are much more than mere monkeys.” It raises its arm... and starts charging, aimed right at where you all are hiding. “Would you like a demonstration, Lord Kuriza?”

You power up, and as soon as the robot fires at you, you not only deflect the blast, but return it right back. This is enough to catch the robot off-guard, and the returned blast knocks it down. A couple of the soldiers with it bring their blasters up, but you don’t even give them a chance. “GEIST MAGNUM!” you yell out, firing at the two that take aim with a pair of blasts. You then teleport down in front of Kuriza. You leap at the machine... and it dodges. Wait, what?

“You are a feisty little one. You one of those Saiyans from that Ee-arth planet I’ve heard about?” the robot asks you. It points its arm at you again. “Perfect! I can show Lord Kuriza just what these allies are capable of.”

Releasing a barrage of Ki blasts, you’re forced to back away from the robot, standing by Kuriza again. The alien... taps your shoulder. “Excuse me. I can handle this. Stay back.”

“Hey, it tried shooting at us! It’s not after you, Kuriza.”

“It did, but I don’t need you butting in. Stay back.”

Videl and Tarble leap down from the hiding place, the Ginyus looking to Kuriza. He glances back at them, and motions for them to hold as well. Kuriza steps forward, moving his neck back and forth to stretch it.

Okay, I have a question: Did you take that criticism a few months ago about "write-ins should have support" to mean that all write-ins needed support? I meant that just for the combat moves, since too many rolls for every chosen option is risky. I don't want people to not be able to say whatever they want through the character.

You raise your hands up. “All right, but we’ll defend ourselves if it engages us. Good luck, Kuriza.”

“Luck has nothing to do with this.” His purple aura surges around his body. In a flash he’s right above the robot, about to land an elbow strike on what you assume to be its head... only for the robot to dodge him with ease. It blasts out towards you instead. “H-HEY! GET BACK HERE!” Kuriza yells, giving chase.

You take a defensive stance, but the machine feints, skirting around you and smacking you in the back of the head, following that up with another barrage of Ki blasts. You guard against the attack. It’s certainly significantly stronger than you were expecting. Not quite a threat to you, but this is getting to be annoying.

Kuriza bolts forward, slashing and striking out at the machine... and each blow, it manages to dodge. Simultaneously trying to keep the pressure on you as it does. Kuriza’s anger begins to rise. “Okay no more playing around! FALL!” He fires a Death Beam right at the robot’s head... and not only does it miss, the robot appears behind him, giving Kuriza a gentle pat, before firing a massive beam at you.

You bring your hands forward and catch the attack, tossing it up in the air. Your hands sting slightly from that. Okay this thing is WAY tougher than you were expecting. It dashes forward, Kuriza still trying to get a solid hit in. Time it right... now! You leap to it, dodging its arms, and grab it, but just grab it, long enough for Kiruza to finally land a tail strike to the machine’s back... that barely does any damage.

The robot tries to swing you off of it, its body moving like a top. You stick the landing, but realize that this is going to be much more of a challenge than you thought. Out of the corner of your eye you see the other soldiers gathered around Videl and Tarble, blasters pointed at them. While not concerned, Videl’s ready to defend herself, as is Tarble, though there’s something... off about the soldiers.

Kuriza lands beside you, infuriated. “Okay what even ARE you? Not even the strongest training robots I have can match you. You’re almost making me take this seriously.”

“Isn’t it remarkable, Lord Kuriza? This is but a taste of what’s in store for us.”

‘Uhh... guys. I’ve found something.’ mom contacts you, and seemingly everyone else too given the reactions. ‘These aren’t just pirates. I’ve got some data on their backers. Looks like... some kind of cult.’

Well. Wasn’t expecting that.

You smirk as you look down the robot. “Okay pal, you think you can keep up? Here, try this on for size!” You bring your fist into the air, spiraling Ki around it until you’ve got a Ki drill ready. With it spinning and ready, you drill deep into the ground, avoiding a barrage of Ki blasts from the thing. Digging deep into the dirt, you circle around the robot, trying to find a good place to ambush it. Almost... almost... there! Bursting out of the ground, you appear right in front of the machine... and right in front of a blast from its arm cannons. You take the hit however, and power through, ramming into it and grabbing hold of it.

“Kuriza, now!” you yell out.

“HAAAA!” He fires a barrage of Death Beams into the machine’s back, upping the ante more and more as each one hits. It’s finally starting to do some real damage. Just a bit more!

‘Weeeee definitely have a problem!’ Maple announces telepathically. ‘Big problem!’

“FAAAAAAALL!” Kuriza yells, bringing out a sphere of energy above his fingertip and flinging it at the machine... one with way more power than you think he really realizes he’s putting out. You let go as it hits, a massive explosion erupting around the machine.

Leaping away, you see mom burst through their stolen ship... followed by at least a hundred of those armored PTO soldiers. How many of them were hiding in that thing?! You couldn’t sense their Ki at all... but now that you try, you notice something off. They’re... only barely there. Barely any soul inside those things. Some of them more than others. What the heck?

“That was magnificent, Lord Kuriza!” the robot declares in way too friendly a tone for your liking. The smoke clears, and you see that while that DID damage it... the damage is healing up. “Truly you do live up to your father’s strength.”

The boy’s shoulders slouch. “Y... you’re kidding me. What ARE you?!” Kuriza demands.

Dusting itself off, the robot looks down at you again. “I am an example of what you can command, Lord Kuriza. And I shall prove this by taking down this Saiyan who thinks herself your friend. She should know her place.”

The ones by Videl and Tarble have made their move as well. While Videl can definitely hold her own against them, you see Tarble’s struggling. And mom’s trying to lead the group chasing after her away from all of you. And the robot... well, it seems to be able to regenerate rather quickly.

>A. All right, no more holding back! Time to show this thing what a Super Saiyan is capable of!

“I’m with Kuriza here, that isn’t an answer, pal! Not even close!” You point at the machine. “What are you, and who are you working with?”

“I am what I am, little girl. The future. A future where the PTO rises to even greater heights than you could imagine!” An... aura surrounds the thing. One that feels uncomfortably familiar. It’s got the same kind of Ki that the monsters on Imecka had. “And the likes of you Saiyans will know your place once more!”

You use the Raio-ken to boost your speed as the robot goes after you once more, this time letting out a barrage of missiles alongside the Ki blasts it’s been firing before. Kuriza seems to be using the Raio-ken as well, jetting around and trying to get another good hit on the machine. The two of you keep zipping around the battlefield so quickly that you... don’t quite see where each other is going, and the two of you end up headbutting each other.

“OW! WILL YOU STAY OUT OF MY WAY?!” Kuriza demands, rubbing his head.

“I’m TRYING but this thing keeps going after ME, not you!” you respond, pouting at him. “It’s kinda hard to keep it in one place for you to take down!”

“I don’t need your help! This is barely a workout!” Kuriza growls out.

And as you both argue, a barrage of missiles rocket into you, explosions engulfing you and Kuriza. You were able to bring up your guard, but still, ow. “Ah, terribly sorry my Lord. Are you all right?”

His eye twitching, Kuriza glares down at the machine. “...Oh I am just PEACHY right now.” His Ki surges, his body glowing... starting to crack and warp in places.

You decide to power up a bit yourself. “All right then. No more holding back.” Your aura glows a brilliant golden color as your hair spikes up, going from black to blonde. Kuriza changes into his final, true form as you become a Super Saiyan, the two of you standing side by side. Bolting forward, the difference in speed and power is quite a bit more than the machine was anticipating, with it knocked down as you both smash your fists into it.

Kuriza surprises you by, after hitting it with another barrage of Death Beams, points a bluish-white sphere of Ki at the robot. “Shatter!” An... icy blast hits the robot, frost building up where it struck.

...

Idea!

“KURIZA, KEEP IT UP!” you call to him, drawing out your Power Pole. As he continues hitting the machine with ice, you extend the staff, and then smack right into where frost starts building up. That does some real damage! You teleport around the machine, continuously smashing it as you do.

With a final smack to its head, the machine falls to the ground, sparking through the shattered bits of its armor. It’s trying to recover, but that relentless attack did a clear number on it. You see Videl doing her best to keep Tarble safe, but mom’s attempt to lead the hundred or so other soldiers away has failed, and now they’re all swarming back towards you. Kuriza floats above the robot. “Tell them to stand down.”

“Heh heh heh...”

A Death Beam shoots through its arm, followed by a blast of Ice to the round he made. “No, we’re not laughing about this. Tell them to stand down. All of them.”

“Ah but Lord Kuriza, you’re yet to see our best.” It struggles to move back up. “Though if you insist on knowing what gave us these... upgrades, allow me to tell you truly: this mere machine proved so formidable thanks to the blessings of Luud.”

...

You and Kuriza look at one another. “...Son Peppa. Please tell me I didn’t hear that.”

“No, no I heard it too. I heard the dumb name too.” Come on. It can’t be serious. Luud?

“Your backer’s going to have to answer for quite a lot.” Kuriza tells the robot coldly, refusing to repeat the name it gave.

“Ah, but these aren’t even close to the only blessings granted to us by Luud, Lord Kuriza.” it declares, still struggling to get back up. And as it says that, two more figures dash up beside it from the ship. Both... completely identical to it.

“Though this one was quite costly.” the one to the left of it adds.

“A substantial amount of Blue Aurum was requested in exchange.” the third finishes, readying itself.

“So this is why you’ve engaged in piracy?” you ask, cracking your knuckles. “Because you might want a refund.”

“Oh you are definitely formidable, Saiyan. Moreso than I anticipated.” all three robots respond in unison. “Which only further proves why this is necessary, Lord Kuriza. Do you really trust this kind of power in a party that’s proven hostile to the PTO before?”

Kuriza glares at it, clenching his fists. “Are you questioning my abilities?”

“Merely noting that this one could be a future threat. After all, was your father not slain by one of these monkeys? Your uncle? Your grandfather?”

You sigh softly. Yeah, Vegeta did kill Kuriza’s dad. And Freeza destroyed most of the Saiyans. And King Cold stabbed your mom. And... ugh. What does it matter? It’s one big dumb cycle of hatred. And one that you’re sure Kuriza’s moving past. You look to Videl and Tarble, spotting them still fending off the growing number of soldiers gathered around them, the blazing red aura of the Kaio-ken around your friend. ‘Hey, you doing okay back there?’ you ask Videl.

‘It’s more annoying than it is difficult.’ Videl responds, kicking aside one of the soldiers and firing a Ki blast at another. ‘They keep trying to gang up on Tarble, too. And the Ginyus aren’t really doing much to help here.’ She shoots a glare at the five of them.

‘I’ll help take the pressure off you guys.’ But first, you start to walk to Kuriza, eyes locked on all three robots. “And how many more of these robots do you have? Five? Seven? How much did it all cost?”

“Well, I most definitely have spare bodies. And while costly, the exchange was well worth it.”

“Evidently not.” Kuriza remarks dismissively. “Because if this all you can show for all your piracy, I must agree with Peppa. You should demand a refund.”

“Just one more thing then. The monsters that were under the industrial center, did you create them on purpose?”

“Monsters? Ah, it was probably that power surge from before... well, intentional or not, it’s clearly one more blessing of Luud.”

“All I need to hear then.” You start walking away, giving Kuriza a pat on the shoulder and a silent nod.

“Excuse me, I don’t believe we are done here.” one of the robots comments. “Are you sure this is wise, Saiyan?”

Kuriza glances at you as you begin to walk, and smirks. “She knows full well none of you are a match for me.”

“She is still a potential threat, Lord Kuriza.” The two new robots raise their arms. “We will deal with her and any like her, make sure she knows that none can stand against us like Vegeta did.”

“If you want to go after him, then by all means, he’d probably enjoy the challenge, but don’t you dare harm a single hair on the head of his son. You’ll regret it.” You comment to them, not even looking at them as you walk away.

“Mouthy little brat. You WILL learn your place!” The two blast at you, only for Kuriza to deflect their attacks and charge at them. He’s able to keep one away, but the other’s closing in. Mom lands near Videl and Tarble, bringing up a sparking barrier to force away some of the soldiers. That give Tarble a moment to catch his breath, but it’s clearly starting to wear on him.

You contact Maple telepathically as the other robot moves in front of you. ‘Ghost Pepper to Momma Bird. Thinking Tarble might need a bit of a boost. Can you help him out? Also, maybe something for Kuriza, to help him look good. Over.’

‘Copy that, Ghost Pepper. One Lunar Siren, coming up!’

You adjust your goggles, smirking. The robot tries to smash its arm down on you, but you’ve already teleported out of the way, your fist smashing into the face of one of the soldiers. As you strike him, though, you feel something strange. It’s not like you’re punching flesh underneath the mask, it’s more... more like armor. You even hear a cracking sound as you strike him. He collapses to the ground with the one good hit you managed to land, but still, that was weird. One of his allies attempts to grapple at you, only to pass through an afterimage as you’ve teleported away once more, decking another one in the face. And another. And another. And you keep this up until you’ve downed a good 30 or so of them.

You’re about to make it 31, teleporting again... only to run face-first into a massive beam. “You’re quite tricky, Saiyan. But even this technique of yours has its weaknesses!” the robot declares, sending you flying right back to Kuriza, knocking you into him as he’s about to kick down at the machine he was fighting. The blast carries you both into the air, and only after you let out a burst of Ki are you able to get out of it.

Kuriza glares at you, brushing himself off. “Peppa. Do I need to tie your tail to that ship over there?”

“I am NOT doing this on purpose! Honest!” you protest. “Kuriza come on, we’ve fought together before. You know I wouldn’t keep trying to mess up your fight!”

“Oh I remember just fine! I remember everything!” he yells back at you. “And you’re doing it again! You’re just... agh! AGH!” He throws his hands up into the air angrily.

“What?! What am I doing?!” Okay patience is starting to wear thin here. “What is your problem, Kuriza?!”

“Whenever you’re around it’s like I’m nothing but a joke! You keep trying to say I can handle this, but you keep getting in my way!” he spits out. “Stop showing me up!”

“Okay, time out!” Maple calls as she teleports to the both of you. “Kids, I know these things are getting on your nerves, but taking it out on each other isn’t helping.”

“But-!” you’re about to protest, but you stop yourself. “...Sorry. Kuriza, I’m not trying to show you up, really.”

He crosses his arms, pouting. “Hmnh.”

“I think these things are aware of what you’re trying to do.” Maple tells the boy. “And while not directly going against you, they’re trying to make you feel vulnerable. So the more they feed you their little lies, the easier it gets to believe.” Mom pats him on the back. “Big advantage might be their speed, quite a bit quicker than they look. But speed’s not always going to win against the right skills. How do you think you can counter it?”

Kuriza’s anger starts to fade as he thinks over what your mom asks. His eyes widen and a smile appears on his face. “Heh, thank you, Mrs. Maple.”

“Do your best, Kuriza!” mom calls out... and Kuriza brings his hand up overhead. You also hear mom mumble out something under her breath, and Kuriza’s power surges up even higher.

“Okay, try this on for size! FREEZE STORM!” Kuriza thrusts his hand down, and a blizzard blasts down to the battlefield. The robots don’t move out of the way in time, and they end up caught in the blast, ice building up on them and slowing them down significantly as they’re forced to take the attack.

You fly out of their way and form a Ki drill, digging down into the ground underneath the remaining soldiers and setting some energy mines beneath their feet. Letting Videl know what you’re doing, you coordinate with her and get her to start knocking the soldiers into your set mines, sending them sky-high. You finally burst out of the ground, just in time to see Kuriza crash through all three robots, the trio finally felled for good, their bodies breaking apart in explosions, all that’s left settling on the ground as simultaneously singed and frozen bits of metal. Kuriza flings his hand behind him and lets out a blast of energy to wipe out every last bit.

You give him a thumb’s up. Kuriza returns it. The ship starts to lift off the ground. “Oh no you don’t!” Tarble calls out, his aura flaring around him as he brings his hands back. “You’re not running away this time! Answer for your crimes!” He thrusts his hands forward... and for just a brief moment, you feel his Ki spike up even further, see a flash of blonde jet through his hair. “GALICK GUN!”

The purple beam pierces the ship, hitting an engine. The ship crashes into the bay. Videl wipes her brow and sighs in relief. “It’s over. Right?”

You power down and stretch your limbs. Oof, this has been kinda taking a bit out of you. Gonna need a nice, long rest once this is all over. “Almost! We still need to know more about whatever’s backing them. And I’m betting that ship’s just full of secrets.”

“I wasn’t able to get much when I snuck onboard. But I did almost find out a destination for them.” mom tells you all. “Speaking of, that ship is EXCEPTIONALLY weird. There were parts of it that seemed normal, and parts that looked like they were... melting, almost. Others kinda reminded me of the Big Gete Star.”

Kuriza crosses his arms proudly. “Well, Tarble, I believe this has shown my intentions to be genuine.”

“Yes. Thank you, Kuriza. We’ll be better prepared for this going forward.”

You gently tap Tarble’s shoulder with your fist. “Hey, you’ll be more than prepared. You almost went Super Saiyan, Tarble! Nice job!”

“W-wait, really?” he asks in surprise.

“Yep! And nice work out there, Kuriza! You really nailed ‘em! Next time, think we can work on some combo moves together? Your skills with that Ice magic’s really something. My cousin Izzy-”

Kuriza holds his hand up. “While I appreciate that, Peppa, I think it’d be better that you not try to ruin this, please. I have more training of my own to do. On my own.” Not quite willing to overlook everything earlier, but he is at least smiling more now.

“Eheh, sure. Sorry.”

Videl looks back to the Ginyus, frowning. The frown becomes less one of annoyance and more one of concern as they seem... kinda spaced out. “Uh... you all okay?”

“Hey, guys, done standing around there, observing this whole thing?” you ask them, waving to them. All five of them blink, shaking their heads. Seems they... really did space out there for a moment. “Heh, welcome back to the land of the living. Jeice, you doing okay? How’s your arm?”

He looks down at it. “Eh, still jus’ a scratch.”

Maple almost bolts over to him, looking at his arm. She then looks at all of them, and you can hear her breathe out something under her breath. Mom gets to healing Jeice’s wound, then pulls out the bag of Senzu Beans. “Guys, all of you take one. Just to be on the safe side.” Confused but not particularly against it, the do as she asks. Mom then moves to Kuriza, telling him to contact her if something starts happening with them.

Videl takes a step away from them. “Well... I guess that’s that settled.”

“Hey, Tarble, wanna try and work on that? You nearly got it! Just a little more push and I’m sure you’ll be able to do it for real.” you tell him cheerfully.

“Y-you really think so?” Tarble questions.

“Come on, let’s give it a try!” You stand as tall as you can, your tail swaying behind you happily. “How about just now, when you were trying to take down that ship. What exactly were you feeling?”

Tarble scratches his head. “I uh... well, I just didn’t want all of this to be for nothing. Kuriza managed to show he meant business... but I felt like nothing but a burden here.” He clenches his fist. “...I’m not really a fighter like my brother. Not even like you or Kakarot. But... I do still want to protect my world. My people. Eheh, I guess... I just wanted to be able to make sure I could protect Gure, in the end.” He looks to you. “Is that how it is for everyone else, Peppa? Do you think about the person you hold dear every time you transform?”

“Eheh, well, she might’ve inspired me a couple times before but I don’t think of Cocoa every time I transform, no-”

“Wait, who’s Cocoa?” Tarble interrupts.

You flinch. Gah! Damn it! No, bad mouth! You spoke before your brain had time to keep you from blabbering about that! Bad! You bonk your forehead a couple times as Tarble repeats his question, Videl giggling at your display. With your face red, you clear your throat, replying, “Sh-she’s... important to me.” In a mumbling, hushed voice, adding, “We’re... kinda dating...” You then raise your voice much louder, continuing, “But, no, it’s not how I transform every time! Ahem. It’s more... Ki control, really. I remember Mr. Konpei explaining something about chakras, pushing your Ki up through your body and letting it flow through you. And having a kind spirit but one filled with righteous fury! You feel that power explode and...!” You raise your fist into the air, powering up into Super Saiyan once more. “Eheh, and that’s how you do it.”

“...Why do I get the feeling my brother needed none of that to transform?” Tarble less asks and more remarks, squinting at you.

“I mean, deep down, as much as he can be very, very irritating, and obnoxious, and selfish, and-” Peppa, noooo, calm down. Count to three. “...Look, even he, deep down, has things he cares about. I guess for him, part of it was the feeling of humiliation. Heh, you know I kinda went Super Saiyan before even he did? That probably drove him nuts. Me, a half-Tuffle, closer to his ‘Legend’ than he ever managed. And I was a toddler when that happened. And all that time spent under Freeza’s thumb. At some point he had to prove himself. And... well, he did.”

“Yeah. He killed my dad.” Kuriza remarks dryly.

You flinch again. Okay starting to feel like you’re walking on glass barefoot. ...No, walking on Legos. Definitely Legos. “A-anyway. There’s some more basic emotion down there. Maybe it’s because you don’t like fighting that it’s harder for you, Tarble. If you want to become a Super Saiyan, you’ll need that kind of desire to fight, even if to just protect the people you care about.” You bring your arms up. “Come on. Let’s give it a go.”

Sighing, Tarble takes his stance, resembling one you’ve seen Vegeta take many times before. “Guess you have a point there. Okay, Peppa. I’m ready.”

“Then let’s go!” you declare, charging at him.

Ha, rolling a 1 is the best.

Kuriza's been getting on my nerves, so I hope he gets whatever his gripe is with us sorted out, and soon.
>>
>>3568798
Good session, Kato! I assume most of the roll results were for the start of the next, or was the conversation really that likely to blow up on us?

>>3568798
Awkward Peppa is still great. Not even a Super Saiyan is immune to stammering over her crush. Thanks for running, Kato!

Then again, his annoyance with us is interesting, and so many of our allies lose that when they heel-face turn. As Peppa, I hope that can get sorted out.

I'm glad Kuriza is becoming more independent. I knew acting more...out of his way is better but the ol' Goku and Maple 'i wanna be your friend' need does bite both ways.

Glad Tarble is more receptive. I hope him and his nephew can see each other. He'd be a good candidate for the HTC for Tarble too.

“HRRAAAAHH!” Tarble’s fist narrowly misses your head, but you move like there wasn’t even a chance for it to hit. You dodge a follow-up strike, and another, and another... and you’ve been at this for a good 30 minutes now. Well, at least this is helping reinforce your stamina training with Super Saiyan, but Tarble’s only barely making any progress.

More than that, though, you realize just how... little he’s actually got in regards to training. He’s not especially weak, he’s even quite a bit stronger than that Onio guy Izzy fought a while back, but he’s... not very skilled. Each blow he attempts to land is very obvious. No wonder he was having such a hard time before. And so, you’ve had to give him a bit of a crash course in proper martial arts. “Don’t put keep your body so stiff, Tarble. You’re going to exhaust yourself like this.”

Videl sits and watches as you train him, the Ginyus having gathered up the soldiers the robots were ordering around, while mom and Kuriza take a look inside the ship. The Ginyus did uncover something ominous about the soldiers: almost all of them were cyborgs of some variety. Some only having limb replacements or more minor attachments, but others had most of their bodies altered into full cyborgs. But not ones like Gero’s creations. Nanomachines involved in their development. But, you can’t quite focus on that now. You stop a kick from Tarble, sighing, then pushing him away.

Tarble looks down. “I’m sorry. It’s like... I get the idea behind it, but my body just doesn’t want to follow through.”

“The instincts are there, but they’re not very refined.” you tell him rather bluntly. You cross your arms, looking to the ship again. “...Might need a bit more push than I thought.” Bringing your hands back, you begin to charge a Kamehameha. “Tarble, hold this attack back!”

“W-wait, that’s too much! I couldn’t-!”

“You can!” Here goes! You thrust your hands forward, the blue beam firing out at him. Tarble catches it, but starts to get pushed back. You pump a little more energy into it. Just like you had Videl do for you. “You want to be able to protect the people you care about? You need to know when to give it your all! And when to push yourself even further beyond!”

“P-Peppa, I can’t!”

“YOU CAN!” Just a little more. “Gure’s depending on you, isn’t she?! You’ve got the strength you need to protect her, Tarble! So let it out! Let it explode!” Time seems to slow as he does all he can to hold back your attack. “Don’t compare yourself to your brother, or anyone else! You’re you, Tarble! AND YOU! CAN! DO THIS! For Gure! For yourself! Find your limits and break through them!”

You feel a pulse of energy around him. A golden flash of his aura. His Ki rises, and keeps rising. You give one last push... and you feel a push back."Rrrggh... RRRAAAAAAAAHHHH!” Your beam is deflected upward, and you stop pumping energy into it. As the blast trails off into space, you smile proudly. Tarble pants heavily... with a blazing gold aura around him, his hair blonde. He did it.

...And then he collapses to his knees, falling out of the form almost immediately.

You quickly move to Videl and ask for a Senzu, then dash over to Tarble, handing it to him. You grin sweetly. “Congrats, Tarble. You did it.”

He takes the Senzu, laughing. “I... I guess I did.”

“Knew you had it in you.” You help him to his feet. “Probably not gonna be able to do that every time you need to transform, but you’re close enough on your own. Just keep improving, and don’t give up.” Crossing your arms, you add, “You are going to need to keep up your training, though. Actual training. Strength helps, but you need the skills to really back it up.”

“Maybe Raditz would be willing to help.” Videl comments. “Or even your dad, Peppa.”

You snap your fingers. “That’s right! Tarble, whatcha think? Dad’s been encouraging me for years, helping me get better as a fighter. Mom too. But I think it’d help you a lot to learn from my dad. He probably could explain things even better than I could. Heh, kinda has a way of getting to the heart of a matter, if bluntly, sometimes.”

“Training with Goku, huh?” Tarble ponders. “...You know, if I can find the time, I think I’ll give it a shot.”

“Great! Keep up that spirit, Tarble!”

‘Hey, guys, Kuriza and I might’ve found something.’ Maple contacts you all.

‘Copy that, Momma Bird, we’ll be there in a bit.’

You head in with everyone, moving through the crashed ship, and through some very eerie-looking corridors, finding mom and Kuriza huddled around a terminal. They explain that this is the only data on the ship that was actually solidly linked to this “Luud” figure. Ugh. You’re never going to take that name seriously. Never in a million years. Oddly, it seems to be a... video file of some sort. They get it to play, and alien text flashes on the screen for a moment...

You can’t say you expected what happens next as music begins to play.

“Greetings, lost one. This program is the beginning of your journey to being found.” an alien in a strange red mask and robes appears in a... frankly cheesily edited video, only barely looking like he’s standing in front of the background of alternating geometric shapes. You’ve seen screensavers with better production value. “For the great god Luud shall help break the chains holding you down. How? With this five step program, you can become the best version of yourself, through the power of Luud!” The figure raises his arms, and then statically moves across the screen, with accompanying “swoosh” noise.

“...What the actual hell am I watching.” Kuriza blurts out. Nobody answers. Because nobody knows nor truly wants to know.

And yet the video continues. And the figure drones on about things that... seem vaguely cult-ish. Okay not vaguely. Very cult-ish.

“...Donations may be accepted as Credits, Sky Gold, Blue Aurum, Aluminum, Dilithium-”

Videl scratches her head. “I guess that explains part of it.”

“But where are they bringing it to?” Maple asks.

The video never gives a direct answer, merely mentioning a “supplier” that apparently comes gives out these videos. And so it continues...

“...have heard the great Lord Luud described as a God of Destruction. You may be asking, but such a being is a myth, no? Ah, but Luud’s power is true, it is real. Is his power dangerous? Only to those who have been chaining you down. Luud is the Destroyer of chains, who can help you reach heights you hadn’t dreamed of before once you are free!”

Kuriza has finally stopped paying attention, merely amusing himself by attempting to walk on the ceiling. The Ginyus clap when he manages to do it. And your brain feels like it’s melting as you listen to this person drone on. “What even IS a ‘God of Destruction’? What myth is he talking about?”

“There’s some ancient lore your uncle and I were fed by Dr. Raichi, about a figure beyond morality and reason. Its name was lost to time for fear of invoking its wrath... or drawing its attention. Merely looking upon it would bring someone to tears, followed by manic laughter. Mind is destroyed just as readily as body by it, demanding sacrifices lest its anger be roused.” mom explains to you. “Several cultures have some obscure mythological figures like that.”

“Tech-Tech has one about a creature who can only be appeased by food.” Tarble adds. “If you give it a crummy meal, it’ll eat you instead.”

And the video SOMEHOW keeps going. Gah does this person have the most annoying, faux-chipper tone you’ve ever heard.

“...Share the blessings of Luud with family, friends, coworkers! Your boss will be so proud of you once your chains have been broken! Earn the respect you deserve. And for those who doubt the blessings of Luud...” A brief, almost subliminal flash of some large clay statue appears on the screen a couple times, alongside flashes of a strange planet. “...They will no longer hold you down.”

“Wait, go back!” Videl calls out.

“NO. NO DO NOT GO BACK.” you demand, hitting your head against a wall. “IF I HAVE TO LISTEN TO ANY MORE OF THAT MUSIC I WILL SCREAM. SCREAM!”

“...We could just mute the volume.” mom suggests. Oh. Guess... guess you could. Should have done that sooner. And so she does, trying to get back to the picture of the planet. She tilts her head. “...Not... sure I’ve ever seen one like that before.”

You take a quick picture with your goggles. It’s actually rather blurry, but seems to be a red, rocky world. “There. We don’t need to ever look at this thing again.”

Mom shuts the video off, Kuriza and the Ginyus having decided to take a nap in the corner of the ship. “Okay! We’ve got one clue on this. Now we just-”

“Sorry, is this a bad time?” a voice asks through the speaker of the terminal, the screen flashing back to life. It displays static, but you’ve heard that voice before. “I do hope I wasn’t interrupting anything important.”

You cross your arms and glare at the screen. “I’d rather you interrupted sooner... Mugen, was it?”

“Oh good, you are that kid from Imecka! Quite a feisty little one. Am I correct to assume that the Ginyu Force is currently on this ship?”

“Doesn’t matter. They don’t have what you’re looking for.”

The voice laughs. “An interesting response, little girl! So not only are they here, but sounds like you DO have what I’m looking for. Wonderful!”

“Never said that.”

“Ah, but what you didn’t say does say a lot.” it replies, continuing to chuckle. “So you know what I would like to know, and you know the people I was going to ask it from.”

“Don’t think I said that either.”

“Haha, a smartass. Your type is always fun to banter with.” The synthetic voice of the figure seems absolutely delighted. “So you know that I know that you know what I want to know, since you know the people I want to know it from, and I know you know the people-”

“Stop. Stop. Stoooop.” Videl interrupts. “Look, were you working for these people?”

“Nope! The whole Luud operation is honestly quite droll. Maybe I’ll find time to collect some things from it once they’ve been dealt with, save myself some time, but right now I’ve got nothing I need from them. You all however DO have something I need. Something I’ve been waiting to collect ever since he had that little road trip a while back. So, will you tell me where Ledgic is?”

Captain Ginyu snorts dismissively. Mom clenches her fists. “Tell me what you want with him first.”

“He’s a real rarity! An exceptionally powerful fighter, something that I’ve been just aching to add to my collection. Civilizations may rise and fall, but gems like him only come around every so often.” You hear movement, as if he’s leaning back in a chair. “Besides, it’s probably substantially more interesting than whatever he’s up to now.”

>A. You’re not making any sense, WHY do you want to add him to your “collection”?

“You aren’t making ANY kind of sense here!” you call out. “WHY do you want to add him to your ‘collection’?”

“Why indeed. Come now, little girl, you surely should know that the value of fighters like him. After all, you seem to be quite the fighter yourself.” he responds in a way that keeps his cordial tone but makes your skin crawl. “Few in the universe can really understand just how valuable skill like that can be. But if left alone, it can cause... problems. Both for those who stand against it, and for the warrior who seeks such thrills. It would be such a shame to lose a rarity like him.”

“So what, you’d keep him on display or something?” Videl questions, her eyes glaring down at the terminal.

“Oh my no. I want to make sure that kind of strength is nurtured. I’m sure you kids know people who have had pets before. You don’t just put them in a box to stare at all day. You take proper care of them.”

That... what? WHAT?! “You... you’d keep him as a PET?!”

“It is but a metaphor. I appreciate strong fighters.” For a moment, a dripping, predatory tone slips in from his voice. “Strong fighters like yourself. You seem to be a Saiyan, yes? Ah, but not just a Saiyan. You are a REAL rarity. I thought Tuffles were supposed to be extinct. And yet... here you are.”

You take a step back defensively. “You...”

And he begins to laugh. “Hahahaha! Oooh, gotcha there. Come now, kid, if I were going to try that, would I let you stall for this long? Aaaah I can only imagine the look on your face.”

Oh this guy’s an ass. You cross your arms and glare. “Look, we fought, he lost. His greed got the better of him, and he ended up trapped in a pot. Mom made sure of that. You wanna know more than that? Get talking about what you know of these robots. Especially the ones you threw at my uncle and me.”

The cordial tone returns. “You’re wagering an exchange? Very well. But I’ll only give you what information is of equal value to what I want. The ones I set at you, I did to help Don Kee keep his life. I could tell that would give him ample time to try and flee. They’re a few I picked up on a little... well, call it a ‘reservation’ planet that had a rather unfortunate little outbreak. But what a treasure that outbreak gave me, a whole pack of those adorable little things.”

“Did he seriously call those nightmare beasts ‘adorable.’” Videl remarks. Not questions, remarks.

“And the ones here? On this ship?”

“Part of those Luud loonies. Not really worth my attention at the moment.” he replies dismissively, as if you already know all there is to know.

“One last thing. You, yourself.” your mom asks. “What ARE you?”

“Well now, that’s going to cost you extra. Why put all my card on the table when you haven’t even come close to that, yet? I’m no fool.” The static image clears up a bit... revealing a tall figure in shadow seated on what looks like a throne, with only a few dull green lights in the distance. It returns to static again. “Now, how about you let me take Ledgic off your hands?~”

“How do we know you’re going to just leave with Ledgic? You’re still being very vague about all this.” Maple questions as the screen returns to static.

“I mean, at some point I WILL find him. I have no reason to engage in hostilities with any of you at the moment. We can both keep it that way. We stay out of each other’s hair after this transaction is complete.”

Kuriza moves forward, annoyed. “So what’s the holdup then? Just hand Ledgic over and be done with it. I don’t care much for the tone he’s taking with us, but this doesn’t seem like it’s that big a deal here.”

“Ah, Kuriza. It is good to finally meet you. And also good to hear you’re a voice of reason here.”

“We can’t just do that. This isn’t good enough. You speak like someone with a ton of ulterior motives.” Videl calls out. “You’re not even pretending to hide that fact.”

Well... Kuriza does have a bit of a point there. And you’re not exactly sure it’s the best idea keeping Ledgic sealed up on the Lookout or whatever. You notice Videl look to you, Kuriza giving a glance. Ugh... but is it really your call to make? ...Probably not. You shake your head. “Guys, don’t look at me. I’m not the leader here. Mom, I know you’ll make the right decision.” That said... “Mugen. If that is your real name. I need to know. Have you encountered an individual by the name of Basilea? Woman with red skin, silver hair, horns, tail? Kind of a bratty attitude?”

“Weeeeell. Now that you mention it... I think I did!” He... gives an uncomfortable and unnerving chuckle as he seems to lean forward. “A strange little figure. She was on Imecka some time ago. Tried to keep tabs, buuuuut any more information than that will need a bit of a trade. She did seem like she was after something VERY important. My collection could use a few more... antiques.”

“Don’t engage with her. She’s dangerous, and she’s up to no good. Any info you have on where she’s gone to? We’d like to know.”

“Haha! So you would, little girl? I’ll be sure to... pass along what information I can dig up, should we remain on good terms.”

Ugh. Creep. “Fine. Just don’t get involved with her.”

“I still would like an answer.” Mugen adds. “Will you hand Ledgic over to me?”

Maple rubs the side of her head. “I... I’ll talk with the person who’s keeping him. You’ll have your answer soon. Give us a couple galactic standard days, okay?”

“Excellent! I’ll be waiting. Don’t take too long now. Or eeeeeelse~” He laughs manically as the static screen goes dark.

“A diplomatic way to end all this, then. But you seem to have pushed the issue further down the line.” Kuriza comments.

“It’s not a decision to make lightly, and definitely not one I can make on my own. It’s good to let others get their opinions in, especially for important things like this.” your mother tells the little alien.

He smiles... rather happily. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

Videl sighs. “I still don’t think he’s trustworthy.”

“Think we could be able to track him at all? Whether to contact him later or just keep tabs on him.”

“He’s not on any sensors, and none of us have been able to sense him directly. We didn’t even know he was still here until he contacted us.” Tarble responds to you. “So unless you have come kind of crystal ball, good luck.”

Mom snaps her fingers. “That’s an idea! Thanks, Tarble!”

“Wait what?”

“Heh, no wonder Baba started charging for the service.” mom mumbles to herself. “I’ll be able to check up on him if we need.”

“So, will you be going back home, mom?”

“I will, to talk with Trip about all this. I think it’d be good for you and Videl to meet up with Raditz’s group while I do.”

“Okay. Everything cleared up over here, then?” Videl asks Tarble and Kuriza.

“For the time being. Thank you all for your help.” the Saiyan responds, nodding.

“We captured this ship, we have an idea on what the traitor is plotting, a lead on his location, and I believe they’ll not trouble this planet for quite a while.” Kuriza adds. “I think we’re good. Ginyus, let’s head back to Sorbet.”

“Yes sir!”

“Hmm... guess we should check back up on Raditz’s group, then.” You tap your goggles. “Uncle Raditz, we’re about done here, everything going good on your end?”

“Ah, Peppa, good to hear. We’ve got most of this under control. Found a Dragon Ball down here too, though some of the Bombus farms were infected with nanomachines. Though, well, looks like they found a new little Queen Bee that helped calm them down.”

“Please do not call me that.” 19‘s voice requests.

“Actually, one more thing, Kuriza.” you stop him as he starts to leave. “What’ll you do if that Mugen guy proves to be a threat to you? Sure you’ve got the people responsible for this-” You wave your arms around at the ship around you. “-but he could be just as nasty as they are.”

“I’ll handle him just like I would any other threat to my empire. I won’t repeat the mistakes of my family, however. There will be no big grandstanding display of me humiliating him if he stands against us. Sorbet wants me to be strict with my foes to keep the planets in line, but I can do that without repeating everything my father’s done.” He smiles as he looks away. “Perhaps I could end up resolving things differently, though. Maybe hire him, have him work for us. Berryblue has been rather happy I’ve paid better attention to the markets, and getting someone who’s good at gathering strong fighters might prove beneficial to us.”

“So you’d hire him on as a mercenary or something?” Videl looks to him, unamused.

“Oh what, you’d just beat him up and then have him play nice afterward? No way to run a business.”

Videl pouts at him. Captain Ginyu rubs his chin. “Perhaps we could teach him some proper respect. And how to strike a pose that displays your inner spirit!”

“Like the Universal Greeting pose we’ve been practicing?” Recoome asks ecstatically.

“INDEED!” Ginyu affirms. “Maple, you’ll love this one! BOYS, POSITIONS!” They all leap together and begin to strike... absolutely ridiculous poses. Silly even by their standards.

“BAH-WEEP-GRAAA-!”

“Ginyus, we’re going.” Kuriza interrupts.

“Ah, of course, Lord Kuriza.”

Mom frowns, clearly wanting to see the whole thing. You on the other hand walk over to Tarble before he leaves. “Hey, again, nice job trying to go Super Saiyan. And I’m sure my dad’ll be willing to help with your training if you come over and ask. Heh, Baozi would love seeing his uncle again too!”

“I’ll do so if I can make the time. Thank you, Peppa.” He rubs the back of his neck. “I can only imagine what my brother would think, though...”

“Ah who cares about him. You’re you, Tarble, you don’t have to stay in his shadow. Do what you can to help yourself grow stronger, both physically and as a person.”

“Again, thank you. Best of luck, Peppa, Videl.”

“Good luck, Tarble! And farewell, Kuriza, Ginyus! Hope things go well for you all!” you wave to them as Videl places her hand on your shoulder. Mom gives you one last nod as you head off, locking on to Raditz’s Ki and teleporting away.

You arrive near the ship, spotting Giru hovering around a... bee the size of a small horse. 19 stands beside a few others that hover in place... parts of them turned silver. Over in the distance you see the remnants of a large mechanical beehive near the trunk of a tree the size of a building... with unsightly mechanical bits sticking out of it, too. In fact all around you are blades of grass taller than your ship, and some smaller buildings scattered through them, beside a bottle that you could easily climb into.

“...Well this is a weird planet.” Videl comments.

“You don’t know the half of it.” Pantea approaches. “Dragon Ball secure with the other one, Raditz.”

“Good, good. Giru, how much longer?”

“Approximately 30 more minutes! Giru, Giru.”

Raditz stretches his arms. “Finally. Your subjects will surely be happier now, your highness.”

“I would greatly prefer it of you stop.” 19 requests, her usually monotone voice now a bit more annoyed. Upon closer inspection, you see that she’s got... a bit of an odd outfit on, giving her fake antennae, wings, and little tuffs of fuzz. “This is humiliating enough as it is.”

Videl stares at her blankly. “...Do I even want to ask?”

“No.” 19 replies.

“Yes! Giru, open the logs!” Raditz calls out.

“No!”

Learn the Muscle Groups with Videl!

>Glutes, and how to get rid of Hurt with Exercise!

Strong glutes support the lower back. When the glutes aren’t strong enough to perform their hip extension function, muscles that weren’t designed for the job will take over. Over time, these ‘helper’ muscles may become overstressed, resulting in pain and compression in the lumbar spine, hips and knees.

Because the glutes are also hip stabilizers, weak gluteal muscles can result in poor alignment of the entire lower body, leaving you prone to injuries including Achilles tendonitis, shin splints, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) sprains and tears and iliotibial (IT) band syndrome.

Protect your hips, knees and ankles by strengthening your glutes with hip thrusts, single leg dead lifts and weighted clam shells.

You listen in as Giru replays a good portion of their encounter. Several of the large bees, the Bombus you’ve heard about before, seemed to take a shine to 19 after she fended off one of the converted, mechanical versions of them. After some... begrudging negotiations over it, 19 agrees to help the ones that have started to react positively towards her, Pantea getting her an outfit to help her fit in. Some of the beekeepers manage to pitch in, explaining that the hive these bees are from probably lost its queen to the same infestation of nanomachines that’ve been taking over the other hives.

Having the friendly insects take her to their hive (and with 19 demonstrating some... communication with the insects, in the usual dances that bees seem to preform, to her embarrassment), Raditz’s whole group discover that it’s under attack by the infected insects. Worse, it’d spread into some of that colony as well, and 19 was tasked with bringing most to safety while Pantea and Raditz take down the mechanical bugs. Thankfully, 19 was able to save an uninfected pupa of a new queen for the hive, along with some of the royal jelly before the infection spread too far.

With the infected Bombus dealt with, however, Raditz’s group are accosted by a dinosaur-sized beast resembling the cross between a turtle and an alligator, identified by the beekeepers as a native “dragon turtle,” that was in the process of being taken over by nanomachines itself, having apparently been eating some of the fallen Bombus. 19 was able to bring it down with Raditz’s help. Which leads to what you see before you, Giru healing up the remaining bugs that need it while 19 keeps them calm. Adorably, the insects seem to have become quite affectionate towards her, treating her like an actual queen. Much to 19‘s increasing annoyance and embarrassment.

Heh, didn’t know she could even get embarrassed. One, a drone, almost seems like... well, you’re no apiarist, but it does seem a bit more infatuated with her than others. Hoo boy. Here’s hoping it doesn’t ask if she likes jazz.

That Hassan guy Maple seems to know was also in the area, selling one of this planet’s natives an oversized camel.” Raditz explains. “More than that, she was also looking for a Dragon Ball. But seems we’ve been able to find it before she was.”

“Either that, or she purposefully left it here for us to find.” Pantea speculates.

Huh. What? “...Why would she do that?”

“I’m starting to get the sense that she’s using the Dragon Balls as bait for us, trying to get us infected by the nanomachines ourselves.” she speculates further, tapping her chin with a finger. “After all, they nearly got the both of you, didn’t they?”

“We’ve got Giru able to heal us, though.” Videl replies. “So if she’s just trying to get us infected, she’s doing a poor job of it.”

>A. It’s not her goal. She wants to fight me, get back at me for whatever reason, and all of this is just some big dumb thing to lure me out to her, I bet

Maybe Basilea is jealous of Peppa. That's why she's doing all this. Anger and jealousy over how good Peppa has it. So this is the best way she knows to get back at Peppa.

“It’s probably not her goal. At least, not the only part of it.” you comment. “I’d place money on this being related to something Towa is doing, some sort of plot Basilea is carrying out just for the chance to get at me. She wants revenge against me, and is willing to go along with whatever crazy scheme Towa has hatched this time to get that chance.” Ugh. Creepy demon stalker lady. “All of this, because she has her nonsensical, over the top grudge...”

“But that just pushes this off to off what Towa’s trying to do, not Basilea.” Pantea comments. “And that could be any number of things.”

“Well... the Dragon Balls are what’s worrying me the most, then. Why even involve them? And why this set?” You scratch your head. Come on Peppa, think. “Mmmhh... well, she is from the future, right? Maybe what she’s trying to do is, since she knows where most will be, set a couple out for us to find and then have us gather most of the rest of them. They’d all be in one place for her. And setting these challenges means she’s got a bit of a smokescreen to hide behind while she does all this.”

“Okay, but who’s she gathering them all for?” Videl asks you.

Who... who... who... wait, aha! You snap your fingers. “Baby!”

Videl squints. “Don’t call me that.”

“No, that thing from the future! The thing that teamed up with Dr. Raichi!” You remind everyone of the figure, and how he may be the one connected to... well, everything. All these nanomachines that she’s been spreading around, all the various mechanical monsters that’ve resulted from it. Which... leads you to this one last question. “...Giru, are you absolutely sure your memory banks have no records on such a figure?”

“Giru, Giru! Data corrupted!”

Ugh. Damn it. “So you may or may not know things about him, we just need to keep following the leads.”

19 rejoins you, an... honesly adorable little baby bee about the size of a puppy resting on her head. You force yourself to not go “aww” as you see it. “That was the last of them. All that needs to happen now is for this queen to grow and lead her colony.”

“But they have one right here.” Raditz comments, smiling cheekily. 19 frowns again at him.

>A. All right, the apiarists here can take care of that, then

“You’ve been listening in on this, right 19? Do you have any thoughts on this Baby figure?”

She pats the bug gently, trying to signal for it to head away, only for it to remain put, to her annoyance. “My data on him is scarce, I believe I know less than Dr. Gero knew. What I do know from both him and from Maple and Acer is that he is like Dr. Raichi, technically a Tuffle survivor. Though where Raichi focused on the more metaphysical, Baby’s focus is more mechanical. You may be right in assuming he is the one truly pulling the strings behind all this, Peppa.” She again tries to get the Bombus to move away, pointing it to some approaching figures in beekeeper suits. Well... more like beekeeper armor, thick and relatively heavy. And the bug refuses, getting comfortable on her head. 19, not skipping a beat as she talks to you, walks over to them. “This raises a different question, however. If Basilea was the one setting these infections on these various planets, how has she herself not been infected?”

“Well... that is a good point.” Pantea comments. “That figure you saw, she matched our description perfectly, didn’t she?”

“Aside from wearing a large cloak, yes.” one of the keepers replies, carefully trying to call the Bombus to it. The bug refuses.

“She could be hiding some if she is infected.” Videl guesses. “Hence the cloak.”

You shake your head. “No, no she’s more likely just using that because she thinks she looks cool with it. Remember?” Hmm... but what else...? “Giru, are you sure you haven’t recovered any information on say, Planet Plant? Dr. Raichi, Baby, any Tuffle at all?”

“Giru, Giru! Minor bit of information recovered!” he replies. Any news is good news. “Recognition of data transfer signal from nanomachine-infected individuals shares similarities to the inactive one I have! Databands undecipherable until further information is recovered.”

“So. We have most of the initial planets knocked off, with a few leads but more questions than answers.” Raditz surmises. “What’s the last one left?”

“The one mom and Maple labeled ‘Fake Brench,’ though there are some others. That high gravity world, a jungle planet named Cretaceous, another desert planet called Rudeeze, Piral, a Galactic Patrol world that’s been helping other planets deal with an unusual plague, and an ice planet, Polaris. But those are just some things they’ve gathered that might be tangentially related, no solid leads on any of them.”

“So it’s settled then! Let’s head off to that Fake Brench!” you call out cheerfully, thrusting your fist up into the air.

19 finally is able to get the little bug off her, giving it a gentle pat on the head as she does. It seems to let out some sad buzzing noises, only for her to sigh and respond in kind. It... calms the bug down, but curiously, 19 adds, “If you need, I can return to this world should this one require some extra care.”

“Thank you, young miss!” one of the apiarists replies. “It has grown rather attached to you.”

“I could tell. Use this.” She hands a tiny communication device to them and gives the Bombus one last pat on the head before leaving with everyone, all of you back on the ship. You and Videl make sure everyone’s up to speed on what happened on Tech-Tech, and just what Maple is trying to do with Ledgic. 16 seems to be the only one who has anything

Pantea gets to the controls, the ship rising into the air. “Okay, coordinates in, next stop, Fake Brench!”

With she ship set, you think to ask, “What kind of planet is it, anyway? I remember mom telling me she and Chiaotzu got tricked into landing there. Is there something that like, draws ships to it?”

“Unusually strong magnetic field that can mess with a ship’s instruments. Can result in a bit of a thick fog that covers the planet seasonally. Larger ships have some trouble taking off without a bit of a boost, or some stronger engines. Smaller ones actually have an easier time lifting off. But this baby-” Pantea taps the ship’s controls. “-can handle it with ease. Mom and I made sure of that.”

“What did your mom tell you about it?” Videl asks.

“Met a couple shapeshifters with significant telepathic abilities, but not strong enough to bypass her defenses. Though... wait...” You recall something. “I think... she did mention something. About how the shapeshifters were being hunted by a monster... left there by a... cult.” Your eyes widen. “...Pantea, we need to get there ASAP!”

“W-what? Why?”

“That place probably has a lead on the cult that’s trying to upend the PTO!”

The trip there takes about a day and a half, and thankfully you finally manage to get a nice, long rest in. Relatively uneventful, and you manage to get another talk with Cocoa in. She’s been doing some more research into the planet they filmed that movie she’s been so interested in, and found that it is actually open to public tours. It’s actually a moon around a gas giant given the name “Anesidora,” and it’s a Galactic Patrol planet, though one that’s only sparsely inhabited, lacking a natural, sapient population of its own. Maybe when all this is over you and Cocoa could take a trip there. Shouldn’t be too out of the way.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nfcmin_p7xs

But as you arrive on this supposed Fake Brench... it seems to be absolutely nothing like what any of you were expecting. “This... this is the right place, right?” Videl questions.

“The coordinates don’t lie.” Pantea replies. “But... it doesn’t match the description Maple gave in the slightest.”

Below you all is a grisly scene. A world that’s been fractured and broken, chunks of it flying off, more than half of it... just gone. And what remains, an eerie, metallic shell of a world. Whatever happened to this place, it probably happened recently. And... most ominous of all, you can still sense some scattered lifeforms on the world.

“...I’m going to yell at that jackass Merus until my lungs hurt.” Raditz grumbles. “Keep tabs on it my ass...”

“I mean... we came all this way to find out what’s going on. But this is definitely going to take some more precautions...” You look at Giru and 19. “I think you two will have an easier time down there. 16 too, but... you know, probably not a place you’d want to visit.”

“You are correct.”

“Giru, Giru! Danger, danger! Significant structural damage to planet’s surface! Unusually high energy readings all over the planet! Not safe, not safe!” the little robot calls out, hiding behind 19.

“Okay, okay, we can head down too, just... Pantea, we have spacesuits, right?”

She nods, heading to one of the back rooms of the ship. “We do. Should be capable of keeping us out of harms way as long as we avoid any clearly dangerous areas. It’s not like there’s going to be a whole nanomachine atmosphere or something.”

“I can sense things down there that are still alive.” you tell her. “And I don’t think we should be taking any chances.”

https://youtu.be/RfOso3O3EDo

Pantea has everyone who’s heading down there suit up, the ship entering the planet’s remaining atmosphere. The place doesn’t look any better close up, a vast landscape of metal and rock, with a few clogged, silvery rivers flowing, though with the viscosity of syrup. Spiky spires of metal jetting out all over the place the size of mountains, looking all the less welcoming as you head on down. Even worse, scans find a crashed ship on the surface... with no lifeforms anywhere close to it.

Instead of landing, Pantea has the ship hover in the air, all of you exiting the airlock and flying outside. The spacesuits are rather bulky, but you guess it’s better safe than sorry. Pantea tells you all she’ll find a place to land the ship and join up. Along with the crashed ship, you see what looks like the remains of a settlement on a mesa some distance away, though you also sense a lifeform near one of the silvery rivers.

You get your goggles searching out for energy signatures as you sense around. Egh... this whole place is like one big malfunctioning machine. Giru was right, there are energy signatures all over the place. Mmhh... but there do seem to be some things that, while barely functioning, are at least not directly part of the planet. And that place that looks like a settlement has one of them.

“I’m going to check out that ship over there.” Raditz comments to everyone. “Stay in contact in case anything strange shows up.”

“EVERYTHING here is strange.” Videl remarks to him.

“Okay, strangER. You know what I mean.” He waves to Videl dismissively, heading off. 19 starts following him, while Videl and Giru stick with you.

“What do you see, Peppa? Going to check that place out?” she asks you.

“In just a bit, wanna see what that creature down there is.” you point to it. Just a quick look, to see if there’s anything to be learned from it. You move in closer, trying to keep your distance. Seems to be something by the shore of a silvery lake. Looks almost like an oversized snail... wait, it’s powering up. Does it sense you coming? Better back up just a-WOAH!

A beam shoots out from the thing, now clearly some kind of oversized mechanical nautilus. While it misses hitting you directly, the beam does hit your suit, breaking the fabric at your left leg. Videl, almost on instinct, fires out a Ki blast at it, hitting the tentacle that fired a beam at you and breaking it off. While not emitting any sounds, the machine clearly felt that, and it attempts to scurry away back to the silvery lake... weakly, barely able to move.

“I... didn’t think I blasted it that hard.” Videl remarks, looking over the robot.

“You didn’t. It’s... dying.” you tell her, noticing its energy fading. You also Clothes Beam up the tear in the suit after having Giru look at it, making sure nothing got inside it after your nose picks up a metallic scent. He confirms you’re in the clear, thankfully.

The robot weakly keeps moving towards the lake, stopping at the “water’s” edge... and just giving out. It stays there, motionless, as its energy slowly fades. Videl moves a little closer to it, the machine not reacting to her as the few lights on it flicker. “...Giru, do you have any information on this?”

He floats closer to it, then declares, “Substantial nanomachine conversion of native lifeform! Energy reserves depleted! Signs of prior struggle, nanomachines running out of power!”

“So something attacked it previously...” Ominous. You and Videl head over to the settlement at last, finding most of the buildings there just... torn to pieces. As if a giant animal, something the size of a Paozusaurus had attacked them. Your goggles pick up the energy signature from earlier. A computer terminal! You have Giru analyze it, and he manages to boot the computer up.

“Pantea, Raditz, we’ve found something.” you tell them. Ugh, can’t read the language being used for it, but you CAN probably guess what some files are. Video or audio logs.

“As have we. And... uh... Peppa? Giru has been to this planet.” your uncle tells you. “Security footage of the ship shows him, or at the very least a robot like him, entering it.”

“Well, let’s see if this terminal can corroborate that, and anything else here.” You nod to Giru, the robot searching through the files. You also take a few pictures of the language, sending it to mom to have her take a look at it. Thankfully, the spoken language is perfectly intelligible. Though... what you do hear is not exactly encouraging. A man’s voice can be heard as a video plays, showing a strange, small, robed figure.

https://youtu.be/WfoFC8B0AFo

“Experimental Log 451: After much trial and error, we have been able to replicate the conditions necessary to promote the growth of the material. The Doctor will be most pleased with the results.” The figure goes on to move a canister containing... a silvery substance to a test tube. A test tube with an odd, cat-like animal inside. He then signals for something to approach. A... a tiny robot, the spitting image of Giru. Though, not exactly the same. Its eye is a glossy sky blue color, and its coating is more of a dulled off-white. Its arm interfaces with the test tube, and the silvery liquid pours into it. The animal inside becomes coated with the substance. Proudly, the small robed figure declares, “Material growth is covering 90% of the subject... 92%... 95%... perfect. Perfect!”

“Uncle Raditz, I don’t think the thing you’re looking as IS Giru, but it is definitely like him.” you comment to him, taking a few more pictures. Another file begins to play...

“Experimental Log 732: The enhancements to Leon have proven stable. It will be returned to the Order of Luud within the next month-”

“Leon?” Videl interrupts, causing Giru to pause the recording.

“Aha!” you call out. “I knew it! Mom mentioned quite some time ago that while she was on this planet, there was some kind of large robot lion thing that was after two shapeshifters. And that robot thing belonged to the Order of... well that thing.” You pointedly refuse to repeat the name of their supposed deity. “So Leon is the name of it... and sounds like the cult guys have it back again.”

Videl looks to Giru uncomfortably. “...Peppa, you do realize what this means, right?” Telepathically, she adds, ‘Giru worked for them.’

...Well. Guess she’s right. You look to him too, then signal for him to keep playing.

“-and a half. Lucky that the Order tracked down this remote planet. Away from any prying eyes. Should Leon’s next field test prove successful, Project Luud will continue ahead of schedule.” The robed figure hears something. There’s a crash outside. “...Sigh. Though we do keep gaining unwanted guests every other month. DB5629T3009RX, investigate.” The Giru-like robot salutes him, and heads out of view.

“Guessing it’s the crashed ship.” Videl remarks.

“Displaying most recent log! Giru, Giru.”

As it plays, you notice that the thing in the tank has changed. No longer some kind of animal... it’s a person. “Experimental Log 992: Nanomachines have undergone all necessary field tests. All we need now is-” He’s cut off by the sound of explosions. Warning sirens blare out loudly. “OH WHAT NOW?!” he exclaims in more annoyance than anger or fear. “Activate Leon Units 04 and 06“ The computer begins beeping at him. “...Destroyed? What do you mean destroyed?! That’s it, all Mach-” More explosions, these ones closer. A crashing sound, as if one of the building’s walls was knocked down. “...W-who are you?”

https://youtu.be/BV2NnFp7lEY

“Greetings, Doctor. We’re here for that. That and all spares you have.” a girl’s voice... oh. Oh no.

“BASILEA!” Videl exclaims.

“Giru, when was this?!” you demand.

“Given relative time differences between this planet and Earth... Giru, Giru.” He beeps lowly. “Approximately one week before the battle between Dabura and Ledgic.”

“She... she was planning this even before the Tournament?” Videl questions.

The file continues to play. A beam shoots through the figure’s chest... revealing it to be a robot itself. Basilea strides in like she owns the place. She glances at the camera recording all this, smirking maliciously. Two more figures, small, robed, grab the container of nanomachines. “Y-y-y-y-you a-a-a-a-are m-m-m-making a m-m-m-mistaaaaaaaaaa-”

“Oh I think not. In fact, I’m helping your boss out with this. But... well, your services are no longer required.” She fires a dark Ki blast at the robot to destroy it completely, then heads out, tail swaying... kinda like yours does when you’re happy. You hear the sounds of further explosions. Then the sounds of large animals outside, roaring. The whole building shakes, and finally the video goes silent.

“Raditz, did you get all that?” you ask.

“Well, guess we know what destroyed this planet, then.”

Videl again gives Giru an uncomfortable look. He beeps innocently at her. But he has to know by now. He... doesn’t say anything, but you KNOW he has to know.

“Giru. Be honest. Did that bring back any memories?” you ask calmly.

He beeps hesitantly. “Giru, Giru... some memories have been recovered.”

Videl takes a step back hesitantly. “...So. You... know what you are?”

“Full memories have not been recovered. Partial memory recovery has... resulted in restoration of directives.” He looks down. “Finding locations of Saiyan survivors. Reporting back to... Doctor, name not found.”

You slowly walk to the little robot. Gently placing your hand on top of it, you tell it, “It’s okay, Giru. I trust you.”

“Giru, Giru?”

https://youtu.be/sqJ4d1rtajg

“Now come on, let’s head back to the ship and-” ...Okay what IS that sound? It’s barely audible but-

THOOM.

The floor below you explodes, sending you into the air and tearing a few holes in your spacesuit. Agh, damn it! What was that?! What WAS that?! You look around, spotting Videl bolting out of the building with Giru. In the rubble of tbe building you spot... an absolutely enormous mechanical creature. Looking vaguely like a dinosaur, with large, razor-sharp spines jetting out from its back, but an eyeless, crowned head, a tail that ends in a large, pointed hook on the end of its long tail, and six limbs, two front ones (a smaller pair and a larger, walking pair) and two back ones. She skin of the monster is mostly a metallic white color, with bits of grey underneath. It “looks” up in your direction, its massive jaws snapping at you... and then letting out a beam of energy that barely misses you, the spikes along its back sparking with energy. Worst of all... you can tell this thing is strong. REALLY strong. And there isn’t just one.

Another is by Raditz and 19. And another seems to be by where Pantea is. And... there are three... no, four... five... six... oh wow. There’s a whole baker’s dozen of them including the one that just attacked you. They’re all starting to converge on everyone, moving through the ground. The planet looks like it quakes slightly.

>A. All right, let’s get serious here! Go Super Saiyan and attack it!

>C. Clothes Beam to repair your spacesuit!
>D. Drill underground and try to get it to chase you, give Videl and Giru a chance to regroup!

You power up into Super Saiyan, then bolt down and smash your fist into the monster’s side as it tries to chase after Videl and Giru, managing to knock it away. In fact, you knock it hard enough to send it spinning through the air, until the spines of the beast end up embedded in the side of one of the metal spires near the mesa. You then quickly Clothes Beam some repairs to your suit once more (going to need to thank mom a hundred times over for that, even with that embarrassing stunt you pulled at Cocoa’s school play). You see another one crawling out of the ground, Videl taking Giru and floating up into the air with him, getting to safety just as the beast lets out a spray of silvery liquid.

“Okay I was not at all expecting this when we arrived, but I honestly really, really should have.” Videl comments to you with an annoyed sigh.

The one who went after her is joined by yet another of the group. Both of them release enormous beams from their heads, the second one even leaping into the air after the attacks miss and trying to swipe at you and Videl with both pairs of forearms. Holy CRAP these things can jump. Well, that and the planet’s gravity is fairly light, but still. It lands on one of the buildings below, crushing it. Videl tries to ready herself to fight it with you... but you get another idea. “Videl. Get moving. I’ve got a plan.”

“What do you mean ‘get moving’?! I’m not leaving you out here to hold these things off! You saw what they can do!”

“I’m not going to hold them off.” You point to the one you managed to get stuck into the spire. Still struggling to get free. “I’m going to keep them from chasing after us.”

“You got lucky there, Peppa! What if you broke through it and its nanomachines tried to infect you?”

With a roll of your shoulders to get ready, you tell her, “So I won’t risk it again. I’ve got a better idea anyway.” You grin at her cheekily. “After all, better put all that time practicing baseball at school to some kind of use.”

She stares blankly at you, but after a blink and a laugh, she shakes her head. “You’re crazy. But arguing with you isn’t going to get me anywhere. Just... stay safe, Peppa.” She floats closer, nudging your arm. “I wouldn’t hear the end of it from Cocoa if I let you get hurt out here.”

“Neither would I.” you reply, sticking your tongue out. And so Videl grabs on to Giru and starts bolting towards the ship. A beam blasts out at her, but you quickly move to intercept, deflecting it away. You then taunt, “Come on you overgrown piece of direct to DVD sequel trash! I’m up here!” You then turn around and shake at it and the other one. “You too, ugly! Uuuuup here!”

The machine leaps up at you, both forelimbs ready to strike, its back spines sparking with power as its mouths ready to fire. You however duck down and bolt right to its tail, grabbing right below the razor-edged, almost sword-like end portion as best you can. As the second one leaps at you, though, you swing with all your might and hit it like an oversized baseball and knock it into the spire with the first one. Without a moment to lose, you then teleport away to Raditz and 19, the robot girl absorbing one of the beams as Raditz dodges a bite from one of them. A third one tries to sneak up on them, but you give another mighty swing with the one you grabbed and bat that one away too, releasing the one you were holding on to and then grabbing your uncle and 19, teleporting to Videl as she continues to fly away.

“Grab on, quick!” you call to her. Videl does just that, and you teleport inside the ship, appearing behind Pantea. Before she can even get a word in, you shout, “Let’s get out of here, NOW!”

And not a moment too soon, she gets the ship airborne, rocketing up off this hellish landscape as a couple more of the monsters try to leap at the ship... one managing to get close. Too close. It nearly hits the ship with its beam when Pantea calls out, “HANG ON, EVERYONE!” and has the engines fire at full speed, the blast from them hitting the monster and knocking it right back down to the planet. You peek out from the ship’s window as you see it fall... shaking both its right “fists” at you all as it does.

“Everyone in one piece?” Raditz asks.

“Just a little jerked around.” Videl replies, removing her helmet. “Ugh. I vote we never, NEVER go back to that place.”

You take your helmet off as well, sighing in relief. “Nobody feeling strange, right? No injuries, no odd metal patches?”

“Giru, Giru, no nanomachine infections detected!”

“I was going to complain about not leaving the ship, but at this point I think I got off lucky.” Pantea remarks. “So, now that we know more about what Basilea has been doing, where do we go?”

>A. Let’s wait for mom to get back for an answer, we all could use some rest after that
>B. Tracking down Basilea is probably our number one priority right now. There was that hospital planet, right? With the strange outbreak it was dealing with? That’s probably our best lead

Training to fight robot beasts on this planet is better than it appears. Training arcs are an essential part of Shonen stories, as it helps the MC grow or gain some insight into vanquishing their foes easier. And if we can autowin against foes that can only screech at us for witty banter, all the better.

“You know, could stay here. Work on developing a martial art focused on swinging around alien robot bug dinosaurs.” you remark cheekily. Videl flicks the side of your head in annoyance. “Ow! Joking, joking!”

“Sure you were.” she grumbles.

“I must admit, you did find a... creative... method of keeping them away from us.” 19 remarks.

“But really. Where we go next depends... Giru, what do you think we should do?”

“Giru... Giru?” He beeps curiously at you.

“You’ve recovered some memories, haven’t you? So you’ve got to have a clue on where to go next. Let’s hear your input.” You give him a friendly smile. “I trust you, Giru. I know you’re on our side.”

“Giru Giru Giru! Thank you, Peppa! Giru! Giru!” he exclaims happily, floating around you.

You pat him gently. “Okay, okay, settle down champ. But we need an answer. Where do you think we should go, Giru?”

The robot beeps contemplatively, then moves over to the ship’s main screen, opening up the star charts. “Giru, Giru. Coordinates for potential routes for both Basilea and Order of Luud are as follows!” He interfaces with the computer and shows a crude, cartoony head for Basilea tracking her movements from planet to planet, starting with this former Fake Brench. He speculates on some of the worlds hit by the nanomachines, given what you know about that hospital world. The trail goes through what he signifies as a nature preserve planet, and ends at... huh. Nothing?

“Giru, that’s empty space.” you remark.

“Correction.” 16 interjects. “It is the remains of planet Eros. A planet destroyed ages ago.”

“Giru, Giru. Unusual background energy signatures detected in this region!” He then goes to triangulate a path showing... the Dragon Balls you collected. And they would be on a few of the planets on Basilea’s path. “Potential readings on Dragon Balls indicate spreading out in multiple directions from this location!”

“You think these Black Star Dragon Balls are from that destroyed planet?” Videl asks.

“Highest probability of point of origin! Calculated at 73%!” To follow this up, he next goes to speculate on the area the cult would most likely be operating out of, given both the relative distances of Tarble’s planet and this fake planet Brench, and any number of PTO worlds that the cult could be influencing. He comes to a few locations. One looks a bit like a beehive, one barren and recorded dangerous planet by the name of “Vampa,” and one... that does seem very familiar, but lacking in substantial information.

“Narrowing it down a bit, but can’t be exact?” Raditz asks.

“Final speculative path!” Giru calls out... and it’s one for HIM. Aha! It follows a trail that leads to... a planet in an uncharted system, on the fringes of PTO space. But more than that, Giru points something else out. A path from there... to another destroyed world. “Speculation indicates this would be the most likely point any remnant Tuffle would flee to.”

“Wait, what’s this destroyed planet, then?” Videl asks.

“These are the remains of planet Plant.”

>>3576360
Ah yes, also hoping for Zelda some time. And while I'm thinking on it, I did a little research, turns out the master sword isn't actually necessary to defeat Ganon, rather its the sealing magic of the master sword itself, light arrows and the sages power that shuts him down. So maybe we have some other options, but I presume Zelda won't go BotW and manifest sealing magic herself.

You also really don't seem to get along with Kato, especially over the smallest and most bizarre details. Is it a sunk cost thing, you've invested too much of your time and effort into this in spite of the apparent diminishing returns you seem to be getting by participating? Is it just that you don't have any other Quests that interest you? What do you get out of these threads, this Quest? And I'm telling you what I consider a fair exchange for my answer. An "equivalent" one, even. I've for the time to hear it. And I can tell you what I like about this Quest if you can answer what exactly you like. I did ask you first.

That would just be a pity party then. I'm exactly as horrible as you think. My moments of enjoyment are fleetingly rare due to frustration. Still, I helped build a small part of this quest, and that will always be mine.
>>
>>3577110
You're still being vague, but I'll tell you what, in a show of good faith, I'll give you something that I like about this Quest. I think Kato pays a lot of attention to detail on Dragon Ball lore, no matter how obscure. I appreciate the dedication it takes to blend all of it into one coherent whole. Well, more coherent than most things after the end of Z. In addition, I'll say that I liked the relationship between Maple and Goku. It's such a weird thing in retrospect, but Kato made it work. They're good together. And it may be a bit early to really say for sure if I like it more than the development Maple and Goku had, but so far Peppa x Cocoa has been one of the less cringeworthy yuri relationships I've seen in a Quest.

There, I gave you some answers. Are you going to give any more details? I'm still wanting to know more about what you consider a fair trade for your effort.
>>
>>3577145
What I consider a fair trade for my effort is a questing environment where players write fanfics, commission images, make dick jokes, and support one another in their crazy ideas.
>>
>>3577171
Now, do you consider that some people can go too far with those things? That a resistance to it may be because moderation is key, and trying to force it only makes people more hesitant to go along with it? Like, shit, this guy >>3576216 was clearly trying to make a little joke. But when you're all aggro about it, it loses the intended humor.
>>
>>3577235
If ask Kato to trust that I am serious when I put something in Green, I expect others to be the same way.
>>
>>3577243
Mate I'm trying to operate under the assumption that you're not a tard. Do you really not get the idea of doing things in moderation? Going too far with something tends to make folks upset with you.
>>
>>3577279
If one doesn't commit to something they put forward, they're just wasting everyone's time, especially their own. Always be serious about what you want.
>>
>>3577456
This may be against my better judgement but hey, it's a Sunday evening, so whatever. You're probably not gonna respond until Monday anyway. So can you tell me why exactly you seem to hold these contradicting desires? You say you want dick jokes but also to be "serious" about what you put in, and demand everyone not make any jokes like that guy did. You seem to be set on too many extremes for what you want, with little moderation for any of it.
>>
>>3578499
>Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

>Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. >Build me a son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.

>And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.

- the best hentai I ever read

You can joke all you want in the black, but don't fool others into thinking you're serious with the green.
>>
>>3578580
Well what do you know, you did reply. But the more you do the less I get the impression you actually understand the issue here. Look back at some of your past actions and think about how you kinda tend to contradict the point you're trying to make, mate. Now I can understand wanting to shitpost a bit, but you're losing me there with trying to hold these contradicting desires. Can you be a bit more specific on what you want?
>>
>>3578598
I want others to not make a fool out of me (I don't need the help). If they have an intent for a direction for us to follow that I agree with, I will give my support to that idea, but they have to commit to it, they can't be someone like Sword who promises a lot and doesn't deliver on any of it.
>>
>>3578608
Even when making an obvious joke? A little one-off for the character to say in jest? Pretty demanding of you. Now say all players do go through with such a thing. Would you be willing to not go all aggro about your own ideas? Because I say this as someone who can rarely if ever put in some of my own, I know that it sucks to not have much in the way of input. But trying to annoy or bitch at everyone else when things don't go your way takes away from most other attempts at goodwill. Its what causes them to "make a fool of you" over such behavior. Do you get that?
>>
>>3578627
If they meant it as a joke, they can write that they're joking about it.
>>
>>3578627
>But trying to annoy or bitch at everyone else when things don't go your way takes away from most other attempts at goodwill.
That wasn't bitching, I was explaining how it was a legit thing to go for in the setting of Dragon Ball despite how jokey it appeared, training arcs are helpful.
