”A Knight is Sworn to Valour. His Heart Knows Only Virtue. His Blade Defends the Helpless. His Might Upholds the Weak. His Word Speaks Only Truth. His Wrath Undoes the Wicked.”Every child in Cantôn knows of the Knight’s Code. From peasant-born waifs playing with sticks in the mud to keen-eyed noble sons practicing with cold steel in the training yard, all have at the very least dreamed of one day becoming a knight themselves. To ride out on errantry into the Five Duchies Kingdom and beyond for God and Glory, bringing the Law of Adam to the wicked and the Blade of Cain to the beast. The Knights of Cantôn are sworn to follow the Code, to obey the King, to refuse no call for aid honestly asked for, to seek out and destroy the Foe wherever it may lurk and rid the world of evil. >>3599087Many years from now. Not far from home.”I like the bit with the horse.” The freckle faced girl beams at the bard at the end of his account of the Sir Andrei and the Wodenaki.”Oh yes, a knight is nothing without his noble steed to lend him aid.” The man smiles back ”And now we get to the tournament. Ah tournaments. You just have to love them. The colours of penants, the shine of polished plate, thunder of hooves and the crash of that moment of impact!””I ent never been to one…” The boy beside him grumbles.”I’m sure you one day will. In times of peace a good lord can’t go too long without a tournament, lest his skill grow dull and others forget his prowess.” The stranger pats the lad on the head as he takes up his lute again. ”Brave Sir Andrei had been to tournaments before yes, but never as a contestant. His first tourney was to be in somewhat provincial environs, considered a practice-bout by many for that the Grand Tournament hosted by the Duchess. But even the smallest gathering of knights sparks rivalry, friendly and less so alike. And this was to be no different…”
Monegan, 28th Day of Savrimun, 883 A.C.E., Fallavon Holdings, Late-Night”You Romani have… experience… with these things?” You nod at Brother Jacob’s question. ”The kill is yours. Or rather, you horse’s if we are being uncharitable. What should we do with…it?”You squat in front of the creature’s face. Skinnier and more wretched in the good light than it seemed a few moments before. It’s so…pitiful. A glimmer of something dangling from the antler catches your eye. You lean closer and, with some care, pluck it from the sharp thistle of bone. It’s a token of some sort. The tell-tale white bark of an Aeltin Tree, sacred to the Fae, carved into a complex symbol resembling… you don’t know what it is really. The string is frayed, spattered with long-dried blood. Did this belong to a previous victim of the beast? You have the strangest urge to keep it, despite the little necklace probably being nothing more than refuse.>GAIN Lucky Charm (50DC chance to grant 1 Combat Re-Roll prior to combat start.)===============================>SELECTED>Bring wood and oil
>>3599092>As far as the trinket goes, Sir Andrei intends keep it for now and have the church later verify that it isn't anything more sinister than a pagan luck charm."Bring wood and oil" You ensure that the pilgrims gather every shred of the creature's remains and cast it into the growing bonfire, none feel inclined to take bloody souvenirs once you make the threat of taint clear. The inhuman wails of the horrid thing only mount as the remnants are put to the torch, croaky rasping . Rasping croakily, its empty sockets stare at you from the flames. "SKKREEEAaaashkakak...kak....kak..."The rattling sound gives you a chill that goes beyond the cold winds of tonight.[1/2]
>>3599095Tunegan, 6th Day of Ovrimun, 883 A.C.E., Mid-morning at the crossroads. It's been a week since you slew the Wodenaki and continued north further into Fallavon. The pilgrims still jump at every sound in the woods and the regular double watches have been taking their toll on you and the other knights. So far, no further attacks.Last night you had the good fortune to come across an inn worthy of the name, located that the crossroads of the King's Highway and several other roads trickling like arteries across the southern Fallavon lands. "The Badger's Bluff" may have been fairly provincial in it's service standards, but compared to the roadside living of the past two weeks it has been utter luxury. No hot bath, more's the pity, but the cool nearby stream serves just as well. The stoned wall coated in moss circles the inn and a fair portion of field, designing with pilgrim campsites in mind no doubt, as the place is full to capacity. That wall, good eating and a real bed with a full night's sleep has worked wonders. You are coming across traffic more regularly now, other bands of pilgrims that have also made the journey and tagging along with more protected groups such as yours when they come across them or making do with night-marches to the nearest inn when caught out in the wilderness. None have reported being the victim of similar attacks and, being predominantly of Fallavon origin themselves, they usually knew the closest safe harbour in any case. Father Towbray and Sister Ignatius thank the Almighty that their own group that did come under attack was blessed with the protection of the knights, and that other pilgrims have been left alone. Sir Rabe wryly remarks that, if there were indeed other pilgrims travelling alone or in small groups that were hunted, it's unlikely that any of them would survived to inform the Father and Sister otherwise.[2/3]
>>3599096[3/3]Ahead the King's Highway continues roughly North-West, Motte-Fallavon being about a day away. A trail forking west will take you to Lord Duncan's lands, where the tourney is being held. The preparations for the Motte-Fallavon Festival in a week will be well underway, while the tournament is set to commence the day after tomorrow. =================================================>"Brother Jacob, this is where we part ways for now. You and the pilgrims should reach Motte-Fallavon ere nightfall." Arriving at the tourney early will give you a chance to mingle with your peers, scout the opposition and rest up Hannibal. [Haughty]>"Father Towbray, Sister Ignatius. Perhaps I can prevail upon you for a slight detour?" With traffic heavy with pilgrims this time of year, a few more probably won't afford the host. The trouble will be convincing the pilgrims themselves, they won't want to risk being late to the Motte-Fallavon festival. [Hearty]>"Go on, Karlaus. I shall be there no later than tomorrow." I can't recall the last overwhelmingly unanimous vote we had. Posting the next update a little early.
>"Go on, Karlaus. I shall be there no later than tomorrow." You won't have time to give Hannibal much rest or take a look at the opposition, but you mean to see the pilgrims safely to Motte-Fallavon with your own eyes. [Idealist]>Your relations with the Knights Comitas has improved. The loss of one pilgrim is unfortunate but you were not to blame, and the death was ultimately avenged. The route is safer for your presence and your companion Holy Knights appreciate that you are taking your promise of assistance seriously.>As you have no spare horse, this does hurt your chances with the joust as Hannibal won't be fully rested."Go on, Karlaus. I shall be there no later than tomorrow.””Oh please don’t leave me alone with those Fallavon tree-dancers.” Your friend grumbles, but his heart isn’t in it. Probably happy he’ll get to tell the story of the earlier fight without your ‘realism’ curbing a good story. ”I can’t stand the chit-chat and pleasantries before the fight.””No later than tomorrow. I promise.” You pat him on the back good-naturedly. ”Cheer up, friend. Try to look as them less like courtly peers and more like marked prey, search for weaknesses. Any smug looks they give you will no doubt wilt under your lance come the tourney.””Well, you have a point.” Sir Rabe grins, doubtless already imagining some soft southern flower sent flying into the dirt. ”Tomorrow then, friend. Safe journey.”"Do try avoid taking down all opposition, I would hate to arrive and see that I have no one else to compete against but you." You call after him, smiling despite yourself. You really do hope he doesn’t start fighting before the actual games. The Montbrun knight waves back, twisting in his saddle. ”Oh don’t worry. I’ll save you for last!”Brother-Sergeant Jacob says nothing as you rejoin the group, having sunken back into his comfortable sullenness. All the same, he does give you an approving nod.[1/3]
>>3600132Although you welcome the approval of the Knights Comitas, now that Karlaus has left you find yourself somewhat starved for conversation that doesn’t involve berating Mikail for his manners or swordplay. At least the latter has somewhat improved. Although leery of philosophical discussions given that yours sister’s ran circles around you, much of the day is spent chatting with the leading pilgrim figures.Father Towbray is actually a relative to one of the Montbrun Duchy families, though he forswore all familial claims to join the church. His fervour was unappreciated in the dour mountains, where folk like to be left much alone. He found a larger following with the Reclaimant Sect in Aubrey, who you find to your delight funders of further incursions into Ardenne. They work closely with the Order of the Broken Blade. It is good to hear the folk outside of Romaine haven’t given up on reclaiming your people’s lost lands.Sister-Superior Ignatius by contrast is an orphan, left in a Romani sept at a tender young age and raised by the nuns there. The apolitical Knights Comitas has been a tremendous aid to her sisters, but she is frustrated with the constant politicking of the church itself. According to her they spend more time managing the Queen’s estates and grooming future Queens-in-Waiting than they do working for the common good of the people. Her mission is a small one, she fears it was funded more to get rid of her than out of genuine goodwill. The Abbess was happy enough to hear of her long and dangerous pilgrimage.[2/3]
>>3600142[3/3]Of course their conversation can’t go on too long without meandering back to the divisive opinions the two of them have. It appears to be over some minutiae of custom to do with the festival at Motte-Fallavon, and against your own good sense you answer their questions on what you will be doing at the festival.===================================================================Any of these are considered an acceptable part of your pilgrimage. Obviously some paths are more difficult than others.>“I will stand a vigil at the edges of the Motte-Fallavon Fields, safeguarding the merrymakers.” These days it is the Lord Fallavon himself who must offer his soldiers as protection, the presence of yourself and other knights on pilgrimage would be purely symbolic. >>3601698The fortifications of Motte-Fallavon itself are not all that remarkable, really just an extensive network of motte and baileys with more palisades in evidence than stone. Something about the soft ground being the reason behind it, Father had said. But it does rest perched in a commanding position on the lone hill overlooking the only major bridge at the northern crossroads.Castle Andrei at home is arguably more impressive (and certainly more beautiful) than these Fallavon ramparts, but the strategic value of this location cannot be denied. An army marching from the western Pascae shores would have to either come through here or skirt the entire rocky coastline. The same could be said for the Montbrun holdings in the east, or Aubrey to the south. And, of course, the not-quite tamed forests to the north where the authority of man stretches no further than his own doorstep. The key to the continent, no wonder it was the site of the greatest battle in your nation’s history.Beyond it stretches the famous battlefield itself, a rolling glade of sapphire, cobalt and azure. They say that a blue flower blooms for everyone of the warriors that fell here. Outlandish peasant nonsense of course, there cannot be that many people in all the world.[2/3]
Wonder if theres a custom of wearing these flowers to Never Forget.
[3/3] - Mikail”Should I ask around for a room, milord?” Mikail of Andryski tears his eyes away from the shimmering navy meadows to the orange setting sun.”There’s still some light left in the day yet. Fetch the steels.”…A few of the pilgrims have gathered to watch, both your own company and others from all over making camp around the festival site. Perhaps the enlarged audience it what has distracted your squire. Bloody boy has left himself open on the left side again, shield held too high this time. You pounce on the opening; your squire needs another lesson. To your surprise the boy livens his step, anything but exhausted, slamming the shield down and directing your own thrust into the dirt. Your eyes widen as Mikail's blunted steel whips past your nose, poorly aimed but entirely through your guard and only just redirected by your last-moment twist. You re-adjust your attack and sweep away your squire's backswing, pressing the advantage and completely obliterating his defences until your blade is at his throat, as usual. This time you really had to work at it. "Unghhh.." Mikail groans, his shoulders slumping. He thought he had you there.-------Mikail is on par with the average man-at-arms at sword fighting, with solid foundations to work from. He now grants +7DC as a companion. >>3604163Meta knowledge aside we haven't done anything to warrant proper knowledge of needing/wanting rangers gear
>>3604193I think it's entirely in character to have just spent time in the woods and think to ourselves that gear more appropriate top that situation would be worth buying. Not only that but we decided not to track down the monster because we did not have the appropriate gear (in character I believe the thinking here would be "can't go traipsing around in the woods in full knight gear, we need something lighter, quieter and easier to move in").Furthermore just as a person we can see some nice ranger gear and go "oh, that looks good, I want one" and buy it
>>3604163The banners not so critical but that hawk is really something special. >>3604198The Masterhawker upgrade is required to enable carrying messages for both the common Hawk and the Legatus Griffinhawk. Sorry if that wasn't immediately clear from the table. Also, 'any location' would require at the least a reasonable landmark. The hawk can discern Motte-Fallavon and Aubrey from one another but not one common hut from anither. I'll admit this last bit is backpedaling after I realised how insanely intelligent it would have to be to spot the differences in all that common terrain.
>>3604193I fail to see where meta knowledge comes in. We know, IC, that our wayward brother has traveled further north of here which takes him through even more of the woods that we know, IC, are teaming with monsters. On another note, it also allows us to equip a torch without needing a free hand which is just a very useful bonus in general.>>3604198My reasoning for the Banner mainly is for the bonus of allowing us an extra companion in combat. Between Mikail's recent upgrade, Rousseau's own DC bonus, and additional Law of Man bonus, we're looking at a total of +19 DC (+17 from having the Banner technically) on to what we already have, which would have bumped up our DC from 64 to 83 in that last fight. 2 Wealth for a +17 DC bonus is pretty worth it to me, given how the only thing on the market that comes close is Full Plate at 3 Wealth for +15 DC, which is really only +10 DC over our Chainmail.I do agree though that we should prioritize the hawk. Don't wanna spend all our hard earned shekels after all.
>>3604207>upgrade required. Aw. Thats really a decent chunk of cash.I mean when its trying to find us in a city, you could probably handwave it as it smells us and finds us.Which actually is another question of mine, is it able to do return trips and find us?
>>3604210>>3604111This is a good point i vote for banner
>>3604214It is as expensive as a Wasteland Mustang, but arguably worth every penny on the grander scale.I would assume that you would teach it to return to a specific location within the city, such as a roost or a hawker's place of business. Failing that it would return to where you loosed it from.It would not be able to locate you on the move in the wilderness, for example. Unless of course magic. Exchanges between moving army groups can use them to a limited extent, passing messages between towns and castles and then riders crossing the shorter distances.
>>3604216I'd say we definitely pick it up after the festival is over, because I doubt we're going to be utilizing it during the Tourney.Unless, of course, there's some sort of team-battle that occurs there. Would we know about that Forgotten?

But if we manage to make some dosh at the tourney, definitely the ranger gear(although the mental image of Andrei the bear trying to be discreet is pretty funny). Considering we know by now that traipsing through uncharted lands is essentially part of our job description, those griffinhawk rerolls look pretty juicy, as the well as the sheer utility of master hawker, but thats something to consider only if we havent made a fool of ourselves at the tourney.

We should wait to see how much wealth we make from the tourney until deciding to buy anything. However, I definitely think we should buy the ranger gear and at least one tracking animal.

You wouldn’t be the first knight to earn his name in their company. [Hearty]>No consensus on buying anything now, so we shall leave it be.”And a good afternoon to you, sir. How fare ye?” No point in being rude. As far as foreigners go, you would say that Langlish mercenaries beat Cathagi slavers at any rate.”One thousand merry days to you, signor terraferma.” The fellow in the feathered cap beams at your greeting, exchanging introductions. ”I am well. How can I not be? The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I have all these brave champions eager and ready to win fame and fortune with me!”He sweeps his hand towards the column marching along the road past you towards Motte-Fallavon, to the smiles and grins of his men as they continue singing.”On your way to the festival?” You and the Langlish share a common tongue, their island was once the centre of trade for the Old Empire when it stretched to the shores of Norsikaa.”Ah, a charming idea. But alas, no. Our business takes us further north, to hunt these great beasts of your homeland. Monsters, si?” The man’s accent is heavy and the occasional foreign vernacular throws you, but he is quite understandable. ”There’s been an attack?” You ask, alarmed that it invoked a response of a full company of mercenaries. ”Where? What manner of monster was it? Wyvern, Flashdrake, Creeping Horror? If it’s the latter, I have some experience in…”” Fur, scale, hide. Whatever nets the greatest prize, eh?” The Captain gives a carefree shrug. ”Do men of valour really need to wait for an attack before commencing the hunt? Ah, yes yes Lieutenant. I fear we part ways, may fortune find you and I!”You’re not sure how you feel about the Langlish soldier-of-fortune’s mission. Hunting monsters is all well and good, but this has the looks of an enthusiastic expedition, they’re not going up there with a specific quarry in mind. An analogy to boots and hornet’s nests lurks in the rear of your thoughts.[1/3]

Located in a widespread glade overlooked by a stone castle, the billowing pavilions and small stands are almost as . It’s only a small event, as far as these things go, held in the honour of… actually Sir Rabe didn’t make that perfectly clear. Still, you imagine that many of the attending knights are viewing this as practice for the Grand Tourney to be held in Romaine later. A servant is waiting for you at the hamlet under the banner of the House of Duncan, your host. To your surprise he begs you wait a moment and runs off immediately, returning with Lord Duncan himself who greets you warmly.”You must be Sir Andrei! Sir Rabe has told me all about you!” He approaches, bidding you dismount and waving over servants to assist Mikail in squaring away your belongings. ”Lord Duncan, I’m honoured. Please forgive my late arrival.”[2/3]

But you can’t deny that there is something about the noble that just screams fatherly family-man.This Lord Duncan is a very friendly fellow, telling you all about the fantastic archery you missed earlier. It came down to a man of the Order of Names, Jehov-something or other, and a complete stranger who went on to win with a deadeye shot form at a hundred yards. Tom-something or other. Quite fantastic, according to His Lordship.Within minutes he has steered you towards the pavilion, fetching a servant for a glass of wine as he regales you with his family’s history. His great-great-grandfather was a yeoman, knighted for saving the Duke Fallavon from a Wyvern’s clutches with a well-placed shot. All this and more he tells you, bragging about how proud he is of his son’s upcoming marriage and how delighted he was to have an excuse to throw a tourney and get back in the saddle. Spared no expense, he says.”Oh please, do enjoy a cheeky sip before turning in for the night. Each tilt will require a set of 3 1d100 for Riding and then 3 1d100 for the Joust.Just a heads up, unless there are some very dedicated and smart (and dickhead) samefags this quest likely has a following of 20+. I would like to give people the opportunity to roll, so if you have rolled for the first set of 3 1d100 for Riding, please allow some time for other folks than yourself to roll the second set of 3 1d100 rolls in the joust itself. This doesn't mean you can't roll for more than one match, just that you should only roll once (aside from re-rolls) for every 6 rolls that constitute a tilt.If we are short I'll ask for repeat rollers.

This is rendered somewhat less glamorous by the lack of banner or military tabard. It is well dark by the time you and Mikail step back from Hannibal, having made all efforts to redress the strain of the last few months. You haven’t pushed him too hard since arriving at Aubrey, but he’s had no break from carrying a rider for a while now and it’s starting to tell. He’s not as refreshed and ready as he could be.”We’ve done what we can. Get some rest.” You rub your jaw ruefully, sending your squire off to bed. You pat Hannibal’s neck affectionately. ”You best get some rest yourself, my friend. Big day tomorrow.” Your steed sniffs at your pockets for an apple, as if to say his performance is entirely dependant upon your ability to procure further treats. ”You’re as much a mercenary as those foreigners we saw earlier today. You should see if they’re hiring.”Hannibal snorts. And there rests his opinion of your suggestion.[1/4]

>>3617735Turnegan, 8th Day of Ovrimun, 883 A.C.E. – Lord Duncan’s Tourney, Day of the Joust https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MmBrYyVhTc The Big Day commences with trumpets and fanfare, the squires leading each mounted knight out in a procession around the wooden rail marking the jousting boundary. Although the stands set aside for those of noble birth house less than a few dozen, the crowds of commoners number in the hundreds as pilgrims from all over West Fallavon have stopped by to watch the Tournament before going to the Motte-Fallavon Festival in a few days time.First in the order is the Marquis Fallavon, the son and heir to Duke Fallavon himself. His eye-catching full-plate armour with masterfully interwoven Fae runes is almost as impressive as his magnificent charger which appears to be of genuine Wasteland Mustang stock. You don’t even have to look at the rest of the competition to know he’s the favourite.Lord Duncan follows; then the groom of the event, his eldest son, and five more knights equipped in armour and colours ranging from glorious to modest like yourself. You burn with jealousy, resolving to acquire tabards, armour and banners equally as impressive as those you see here. More so, in fact. And a helm with a plume, of course.Eight knights in all kneel on display at the noble’s pavilion before the bride who this tourney is in honour of. A small event indeed compared to the Grand Tourney to be held in Romaine in a few months’ time, where there could be as many as a hundred contestants after weeks of qualifying rounds. The newly wedded Lady Fallavon beams and giggles with the other ladies in attendance. Sir Rabe mutters something about ‘vast tracts of land’ next to you and you nearly choke, though whether it’s a splutter of indignation or you forcing back laughter is unclear. Thank the Almighty that the groom further down didn’t hear him, or his father. Really, your northern friend is something of a bad influence.[2/4]
Will this post be 38?
Tournament RulesA joust between individual contestants will be decided by two rolls. The Rider Skill represents your control, stability and speed with your steed. The Joust roll represents your accuracy and steadiness upon impact. While only a single set of rolls determines the outcome between two jousters, the eventual winner may be decided after several passes in-quest between evenly matched opponents. Depending on how close the results are the roll may represent a series of exchanges with a close outcome or a single decisive pass.Although the armour and steed of a dismounted opponent is forfeit, it is considered quite unchivalrous to ask for anything more than a token ransom [1 Wealth] for the release of these items. It's a tad more complex, but as we're not dealing with relatively unknown contestants without virulent feuds or matters of honour on the line (aside from winning), this will suffice for Sir Andrei's part. Tied breaks are rare and reset the Rider/Joust roll. Fellow shekel kniggas, if we wanna turn a profit, we need to win 2 bouts since when we lose, we'll need to pay -1 wealth anyways. Winning only one means we break even when we get knocked out.

>>3617800Well if A Knight's Take taught me anything, you get points for breaking a lance against your opponent, but knocking them off is like a super score.
>>3617800If Heath Ledgers "A Knights Tale" is at all historically accurate (Spoiler: it totally is) then it's something like 3 broken lances on the opponent or unhorsing them
>>3617800Unhorsing your opponent is a decisive KO gg. But short of that it's like boxing where they award points.tl;dr Break your lance on your opponent MORE and BETTER to win. >>3617873Its kind of in bad taste and unchivalrous to indebt a man who can't afford when we have the opportunity to do so with men who more easily can regardless of the risk.

But I suppose we can have a chat with him first and actually see what's up and how he is feeling (pissed or just down) and figure it out then. Might even get another Knight Bro
>>3617889Or we could extend him credit. We don't need to get paid right away. I mean, we do, but we could take the hit.Or maybe he can pay us by letting us know of an investment opportunity, or where a bounty (monster/bandit/whatever) is and he can help us get it.Or he can give us something for collateral and when we return from Carthagi he can buy it back from us.
Just ask Sir Neil if he needs the 1 wealth before taking it. If he does, then just do what anon here>>3617892 suggests.
>>3617892Thats sounds like fairly shekel knight thing and I'd like to not be wealth focused with Emille
>>3617899Then just let him keep the 1 wealth if Emile asks him and it turns out he really needs it.
By the way, there's no need to be concerned about us potentially not making enough wealth. The losers are still gonna joust against each other between the semi-finals and finals. Also, there's still the melee for both the knights and squires, which allows us plenty of opportunities to get enough wealth.
>>3617903>>3617899Fuck no. It's not about the money, it's about the *debt*.You don't gamble what you aren't willing to risk, and you sure as fuck don't welch on it.Knights already put their lives on the line for the honor of a Joust, and now you don't even want to accept a single wealth? Why don't you just spit on him directly.
>>3617892>or where a bounty (monster/bandit/whatever) is and he can help us get it.How is having him join us in JOLLY CO-OPERATION to get a bounty shekel knighting?>>3617912You're assuming we're going to keep winning.
>>3617912I mean sure... there will be more opportunities but we could lose there too and then we're out 2 wealth, or best case win we and come out with nothing to show for it. >>3617913Agreed. We've been pretty kind to him, more than is required. If we then go "Oh nah bro, don't worry about the ransom" it's going to come across as looking down on him, assuming he can't afford it and isn't worth our time. We aren't that good, nor are we that wealthy
>>3617913>You don't gamble what you aren't willing to risk, and you sure as fuck don't welch on it.sure you do its being called Irresponsible, your making a lot of assumptions based on fuck all>How is having him join us in JOLLY CO-OPERATION to get a bounty shekel knighting? because of the way you wrote it made it all about creating vectors for wealth generation, thats entierly shekel knight behavior.
>>3617913Our debt is only due in like more than 50 weeks.>>3617914And you're assuming we going to keep losing everything from now on, both in the joust and melee, which is unlikely.

"Muh shekel Knight" is a joke, chill your fucking tits about us having money.
>>3617932You need to take your own advice m8. I'm just saying that our debt is long off and it's unlikely we're going to just keep losing from now on.
>>3617934I don't think he was referring to our debt, rather the debt now owed to us which would be dishonorable to avoid by the knight we just fucked twice in the joust.
>>3617934Also I'm not sure it is all that unlikely, this is going to get progressively harder and simply winning a joust doesn't award us any wealth. We have to actually dismount our opponent in order to ransom their stuff back to them. So theoretically we could win the next match and get nothing for it. And then lets assume we lose the one after that, now due to our generosity (in letting poorKnight keep his wealth) we're out 1 wealth. I know we are in the depths of poverty here but we DO need to buy some shit (ranger gear at the very least) before we move on, and we DO have our own debt to pay off in the future. We don't know how our luck is going to go moving forward and we've already been quite chivalrous in letting this guy have another shot at us after fucking up.You can only go so far before we sink into ridiculous levels of "chivalry".
>>3617936It only would be really dishonorable for him if we actually told him to repay us the ransom in some way and he refused.>>3617940It is completely unlikely if you take the fact we will have jousts between the semis and finals even if we lose and also the melees. The assumption that we're gonna just be losing from now on is unrealistic. Our debt has more than 50 weeks remaining until it increases by +1 wealth. Adding into the consideration right now is beyond absurd.Letting an impoverished knight keep 1 wealth he needs is not ''ridiculous'' levels of chivalry whatsoever.
>>3617936Glad someone here was able to read. I know it's really late/early for a lot of people, but to make it clear yes.Sir Neil dan Marc knew the risks of playing, and having been dismounted he now owes us a debt of ransom. He doesn't have to pay it back directly, but he owes us now and should come up with some way to do so.If this was some sort of bar bet, or if we hadn't already shouldered our lance once to give him a fair go, we could forgo his debt. But it's a big public tourney, snubbing him here by refusing compensation would be most unkind.
>>3617950>Our debt has more than 50 weeks remaining until it increases by +1 wealth. Adding into the consideration right now is beyond absurd.Multiple people are explaining nobodies talking about OUR debt. It's about the debt the other knight owes US, which is tied up with his honor.Go to sleep. You've stayed up too late and can't even read FFS.Even if we kept winning every single event, it would still be a snub to refuse to allow him to pay us. That's how honor works, hell that's how society works unless you live in a legit shekel world.
>>3617954Again, take your own advice. The other anon was clearly talking about our far future debt here>>3617940>we DO have our own debt to pay off in the future.
>>3617954>it would still be a snub to refuse to allow him to pay usDon't be disingenuous. We're not saying we should snub him and refuse to allow him to pay us if he can. We're saying if he can't pay us or he really needs the 1 wealth, then we tell him it's okay and let him keep it rather than demand he pay us. If he doesn't need it however, then there's no reason not to take it.
>>3617959Honest question, how do you plan to ask him if he can afford to pay without sounding like we except him to be poor? We've already embarrassed him once. It is entirely expected that if you are unhorsed you pay a ransom. The chivalrous thing here is that the ransom is only one wealth when realistically you could ask for much more. That is a big part of why I think it is over the top and a bit stupid to jump on this whole "no give it back for free" train. We're already being chivalrous by abiding by the custom of taking only 1 wealth for stuff that is worth quite a bit more.
>>3617959>>3617962That's why I tried to come up with alternative ways to let him repay us.Helping us get wealth by filling a bounty is a pretty decent one I think, or maybe he has some sort of side quest that he can't complete for reasons, or an old treasure map that he isn't willing to seek out etc.So long as we get something out of him that's of nominal value instead of the wealth I'm happy.Fuck it though, I AM too tired for this shit.
>>3617959Sir Neil clearly didn't think we embarrassed here>>3617810>Sir dan Marc finally regains control of his steed. He turns to you and flips his visor up in salute, you nod in turn. You're making a big assumption about his character being a proudly haughty man even he has no problem riding an ill-bred nag in a public tourney. If he has no need for it, then we take it. However, if he needs it or simply can't pay, then we tell him it's okay let him keep it>>3617967I think forcing him to accompany us on a mortally dangerous quest to pay his debt for us will be a dickish thing to do. Imagine if dies while he does that for us. It would terrible for our rep. I agree about asking him to give us something like a treasure map or something that he doesn't really need like that though.
>>3617899>Thats sounds like fairly shekel knight thing and I'd like to not be wealth focused with Emille>>3617913> Fuck no. That's how tired of this I am, that I actually cared enough about a minor point of semantics to go through and count the post numbers just to clear things up, indicating that this whole discussion has just become a fucking mess.Let's just see how it plays out and vote on it.
>>3617972>Imagine if dies while he does that for us.Well, he would die with honor and not carrying a debt and as an embarassment. If he's afraid to die, then he's in the wrong line of work.

>>3617981That's irrelevant. You still mentioned the far future debt is if it's a valid point.
I wonder if forgotten is gonna roll for the other matches.Would be funny if the heir loses to sir rabe.
>>3617989>if he demands a poor knight accompany him on a dangerous quest to pay his debt, and then that knight dies while on the quest.Yeah because it's an unreasonable request to pay off 1 wealth, whereas simply paying it as is expected is fine. >>3617991>That's irrelevant. You still mentioned the far future debt is if it's a valid point. It IS relevant. Just because it's about a year away from being due doesn't mean we can outright ignore it. We need to keep a buffer on our wealth, not only so that we can pay off our debts when the time comes, but so that we can safely invest in other things as well. It's pretty basic money management, especially in a world where losing a friendly competition could cost us our horse and armour.
>>3617996>Yeah because it's an unreasonable request to pay off 1 wealth, whereas simply paying it as is expected is fine. Not really. It's pretty basic money management, especially in a world where losing a friendly competition could cost us our horse and armour. No, it isn't relevant at all. There will be tons of events and opportunities in the next 50 weeks in the quest to earn more than enough to pay off a far future 2 wealth debt. Even if we don't pay it in time, then it will just increase by 1 wealth. Emile isn't gonna sit on his butt doing nothing for 50 weeks. >>3618004Not really. Demanding that he gives us 1 wealth even though he needs it for can't pay for it isn't reasonable. It is entirely reasonable to expect he pay what is customary when losing a match. Especially given that the custom is done out of politeness and we would be well without our rights to demand pay equal to the full actual worth of his horse and armour. >No, it isn't relevant at alExcept that it is>There will be tons of events and opportunities in the next 50 weeks in the quest to earn more than enough to pay off a far future 2 wealth debtOf course there will be, and each comes with risk. It isn't as if every opportunity is a cash grab guarantee. That being said, I obviously know Forgotten isn't going to go out of his way to dump us into poverty, but it is realistic to consider the fact that we have debt, and may choose to take on more in the future for potential gains. >Shekel memesYeah ok buddy
I will vote to take away from him as much as we can. Just to make all of you angry.
I know I am late to the party but the traditional and perfection honorable thing to do is to just ask for one wealth. I don't think Sir dan Marc would be competing if he couldn't afford a lost like that and in most cases that would just mean having to pass on sleeping on an inn while on the road. If he were to express difficulties gathering the coin needed and instead offer an alternative form of payment I think we all be willing to listen.
>>3618010As much as this made me laugh, lets not go down that track because then we end up with people voting for game ruining shit because they are angry. We can bitch and argue with each other all day but lets keep having fun when we actually get back with the game

He should also consider himself lucky we are an honourable knight who wouldn't consider demanding a true ransom for his things, which we could do.We have already extended this knight a great deal of hospitality, continuing to do so by letting him get off without paying a meager debt is ridiculous.I can't believe we're arguing this much about something as clear cut as someone paying us the debt they owe simply because Forgotten described them as being more humble in appearance than us

He should also consider himself lucky we are an honourable knight who wouldn't consider demanding a true ransom for his things, which we could do.The only bullshit here was uttered by you though. The far future debt is an irrelevant invalid point. Being customary doesn't make it reasonable whatsoever. No amount of repeating your refuted points will make them right. Nah, there's no reason that he'd consider that we will be an dishonorable knight and demand more than that is custom like a loan shark.>We have already extended this knight a great deal of hospitality, continuing to do so by letting him get off without paying a meager debt is ridiculous. We didn't extend any ''hospitality'' whatsoever. Not taking advantage by demanding he pays a hefty debt isn't hospitable.>I can't believe we're arguing this much about something as clear cut as someone paying us the debt they owe simply because Forgotten described them as being more humble in appearance than usYou can stop arguing. I won't stop ignoring your dumb disingenuous arguments however.>>3618028Lol >You refuse to concede to my illogical arguments? I now label you a troll then! I now conveniently no longer need to continue to argue for the arguments I made with my troll buzzword.Unreal.
>>3618032>No amount of repeating your refuted points will make them right. The irony is shocking
you know what, I regret opening my mouth.lets just move on from this shitshow.
>>3618028Also, what's with the dummies like you here crying and endlessly screeching by screaming:>''YOU'RE MOUNTBRUNFAG''>''NO! YOU'RE MOUNTBRUNFAG!''>''NO HE'S MONTBRUNFAG!'' With anyone that argues with you? You're getting insufferable at this point more than than that fag ever was.
>>3618037I don't even know what a "montbrunfag" is. This must be some term used by the argument fags
>>3618037Literally one person has said that so far you wanker. Saying shit like that does not make your arguments more valid
>>3618032Just because you aren't trolling intentionally doesn't mean you're functioning identically to a troll. You don't give a damn about any argument, nor are you interested in conceding. Multiple people have tried reasoning with you, now I'm just laughing at you.Clearly, you aren't interested in productive discussion, nor are you willing to just shut up and vote on it, and you certainly aren't winning people over to your side.So fuck it, let's have some fun.
>>3618039>MontbrunfagEarly on during Character creation 2.0 their was an Anon so ridiculously set on having the MC be from Montbrune he and several anons myself included spent threads arguing with the various things he kept espousing.Shit was dumb, pointless and unrelenting.
>>3618039It's a joke from earlier threads that you must have missed or didn't bother to read, when this one guy with a writing style veeeeery similar to >>3618032 was throwing a shit-fit about Emile's character creation. It's what's known as a "joke" and you should immediately stop taking anyone saying it seriously. It really says a lot about the players that don't know this, because you really couldn't read the earlier threads without seeing it come up. Like. A lot.
>>3618046Wait. In this situation we've found ourselves in . . . Am I the Montbrunfag? I feel it's a possibility.Because I'm actually starting to enjoy this.
>>3618033>>3618033But there is not irony though. You kept nauseously repeating the far future 2 wealth debt as if it's a valid point to consider when it absolutely isn't. Emile is gonna earn more than enough to pay the debt even if he doesn't take the 1 wealth here. That's a fact.>>3618039Some fag kept shilling and arguing for Montbrun to be picked for Emile after Gabriel died. After that anons started calling anyone who argues with them Montbrunfag to try to shut down the argument. It's hilarious.>>3618042Lol why're you lying? You know anyone can just scroll up to see that you're lying right? >>3617932>Bunch of Montbrunfags making meme choices.>>3618028And the filename for the unfunny image.>>3618044Of course I refuse to concede. Your points are illogical. It's not multiple people you lying shit. It's you and some other fag who keep shilling for their dumb points no matter how much they keep getting refuted.
>>3618051Nah man, look below you he is right>>3618054here
>>3618054>Lol why're you lying? You know anyone can just scroll up to see that you're lying right?... Dude just stop lying
>>3618054I updated this so that I don't have to keep changing it each time you post.>>3618058I found the start of Montbrunfag. First Emile thread, just ctrl-F searched it. Anonymous (ID: N1kGDULC) 11/04/18(Sun)06:40:06 No.3024219 >>3024207 >Not make her join the fight, no. But maybe helping us smoking the creature out of its lair, other than tracking it of course. Roger said we can't smoke out them no matter what because they have plenty of exits so your point doesn't matter. >Also, your own argument here >>3024192 (You) is invalid because Forgotten mentioned Death's Door for the first time after Gabriel rolled a nat 100. No it doesn't. Death's Door was already a known mechanic you can read at the system's guidelines. Not my problem if the players didn't read how the battle system actually works. And even without Death's dorr, going out to an enemy camp without a companion is stupid in it self. > But let's not beat that dead horse again, shall we? If you didn't want ''want that dead horse'', then you wouldn't have replied to my argument in the first place. Also the horse was beaten dead because of the players stupid choices. >Anon, the Beastmen where noob level enemis It doesn't matter. We were a noob level knight that just barely drew first bood so your point is invalid. I arleady addressed Death's door. No, we wouldn't have. The character died because of the player's cockiness and retarded choices. We were an amateur knight that never killed monsters before, so we absolutely sould've feared a three beastmen band, especially with no companion with us.-----------------------------------------------------It IS shockingly similar, isn't it?
>>3618058LMAO you literally proved me right.Goes from this to>>3618042 to circlejerking with the other fag about me montbrunfag here>>3618058Thanks for proving me right.
>>3618061LMAO You two just keep proving me right. Behold people, the most effective way to run away from an argument and shut it down in Sworn to Valour Quest, just keep SCREAMING and SCREECHING ''MOUNTBRUNFAG!'' nonstop at ANYONE that argues with you.
>>3618059His posts revolve around simply straight up denying other people's arguments then claiming he's won. It's literally impossible to get him to "concede defeat" as he says it. That's why I said it's basically feeding the troll. He won't stop until people stop replying to him.I'm honestly probably just as guilty as he is for keeping this going, heck probably more so because I'm at least aware of what's happening. It's like potato chips though. I keep telling myself "this is the last post. All I'm doing is clogging up this thread like an artery filling up with cholesterol". And then I write some more and post it.And I'm sorry we're all here for that.
Alright, foot down guys let's can it. Maybe discuss the merits of demanding a ransom/favour/etc when I've actually presented that as a possible issue?Update incoming.
>>3618062Mat I decided to stop taking you seriously because anon is right, you're a troll so I decided itd be fun to jump on the montbrun train since it describes you so well>>3618063Yeah no, we're just sick of arguing with you. You're ridiculous.
>>3618064Kek I never once claimed that I won the argument you disingenuous liar. Go on, I dare to find one post just ONE post where I said I won the argument. Protip: You won't. You'll just keep screeching nonstop ''MOUNTBRUNFAG!'' because you. have. no. argument.
>>3618067Nah, I'm not a troll or mountbrunfag or whatever you label you use no matter how much you screech that I am. I just refuse to concede to your illogical points that you keep stating. That's it.
>>3618070>>3618068See >>3618067Jesus.

>>3618098She better be a cutie patootie Forgotten or there's gonna be pits to pay!

>>3618098>We get a top-tier waifu interested in us.>Approach her and talk to her>Forgotten won't let it be that easy however.>It turns out that she's a mentally ill schizo that screams the word ''MOUNTBRUNFAG!" like a banshee every time she has a conversation with someone.Screencap this
>>3618111I am honestly laughing my fucking ass off right now. That was hilarious. Considering how terrible we've been with women though it might be us screaming at her like an autist

>>3618128Getting flashbacks to Soma's Imouto.
>>3618125>Just went up to the family farm. It's good to get away from the city for a bit and help with the horses. That explains why you kept shilling that low-tier hoe Tracker Jeanne at us and the exposition of her love for Mustang horse dongs.>Mfw Forgotten is a furry and wants to see Jeanne get HORSE'd
>>3618134Low-tier hoe indeed. Horse girls are total garbage and they're insane and definitely getting... you know what. if you don't believe me look it up. also i dated one
>>3618139I won't disagree with you on this. But they do tend to be hot as fuck, and honestly if you keep them rolling in horses they don't fuck with the rest of your life.So long as you can afford their Horse shit, they're actually pretty awesome.Just the chick version of "car guys" really.
>>3618125Btw Forgotten, I'm sorry if got a bit autistic. I'm just tired of seeing fags crying and counter-crying Montbrunfag! and going all poo poo ever since the first MC died whenever someone has an argument. >>3618139She was probably cucking you and you were just there for her to prep her for her horse bull. You should if any NEIGH's are coming from her bedroom lol.
>>3618143They're pretty awesome if THEY can afford their horses. Not so awesome if they're suffering serious financial burden and they have TWO ponies when they can barely afford to hold down a house. Or a job. Or any asset of any kind. I think I might be derailing the thread. Woop sorry.
>>3618146How are you derailing the thread if there are no updates or anything worth discussing? Forgotten himself participates in the shitposting and loves to shitpost, so it would be hypocritical of him to ask you to stop.
>>3618164Seems like he is just trying to be considerate and doesn't want to start up a whole conversation about something completely off topic in the middle of a thread. At least that is my take on it.
>>3618164ok MontbrunfagDriving for one day and come back to this. Damn kniggas. Nice rolling btw
>3 Success>2 Double Pass>You shatter your lance and Sir dan Marc is unhorsed. Verily. This time when the flags fall Hannibal doesn’t even wait for your spurs, charging at the Sir dan Marc down the line as if to show you what he thinks of his rider’s concept of good sportsmanship. Your opponent manages to keep his horse under control this time but the speed, the ferocity, the power of your warhorse cannot be compared.Your vision narrows down to three things. Hannibal’s head, your opponent’s shield, and the tip of your lance. In that split-moment of impact you can hear the whistle of Sir dan Marc’s lance whip past your shoulder even as your own sings true and skims right over the top of his shield.*KA-KRAK!!*Your lance splinters right down to the base as lands directly on the left side of Sir dan Marc’s helm, sending it spinning halfway off his head even as he teeters back in his saddle. Hannibal races down to the end of the line and reels about, raring for another go. You turn just in time to see the limp Sir dan Marc totter off and plummet into the dust as his horse comes to a stop. An apothecary rushes out with some men, dragging him off the field. To your relief the man turns out to be knocked out cold but alive with no more than what promises to be a magnificent bruise. This time the applause and cheers of the crowd is far more than polite. Now THIS is jousting, what everyone came to see.[1/3]
>>3618168Now stop that.>>3618164Okay that was ONE time with the soft southern knight meme. Please keep the arguments on topic somewhat.
>>3618146>They're pretty awesome if THEY can afford their horses.See, this assumes an upper limit to how many horses they will get. Best just to skip right to owning your own land and stabling her friends horses for a fee to create a perpetual horse machine.Look, we can talk horses or we can let the autistic kid go off again. It's probably actually easier for Forgotten since this is non-quest related so he doesn't have to waste time trying to figure out how to respond to it.

>>3618175> When you come back and everyone has shitposted to the QM's last thread of tolerancehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNPW2wZ4D2s
>>3618169”Fine bloody jousting there!” Sir Rabe slaps you on the back as you approach the stands a few minutes later, flush with this initial victory. You have changed out of your armour as the qualifying bouts won’t conclude until lunch. Sir Rabe pauses at the stand, his demeanour changing from elated to sour in an instant at the sight of a petite woman dressed in furs calling the both of you over.”That’s my big sister, Brünhilde. Fuck. I guess I should introduce you.” Sir Rabe grumbles miserably, shrinking into a slouch even as the two of you approach.”Yes, yes we shall take it from here, Kip. Don’t you have a joust to get to?” The diminutive Lady Brünhilde Rabe should not intimidate your gruff warrior companion, her nose barely reaches your chest, but the hardened northerner flees as if the joust were a less fearsome prospect than his sister. Probably before you can unpack the fact that his nickname is ‘Kip’. ”Come, Sir Andrei. Let me introduce you. This here is Lady Elisabeth Fallavon, and the Mademoiselles Ava Sinclair and Josephine Daubeny. Ladies, this is Sir Emile Andrei and if half of what my brother has said is true he can lift dragons and slay mountains.””All that and a touch of jousting? A most impressive repertoire, Sir Andrei. A cup of wine, for the victor.” The sister of the Marquis Fallavon orders refreshment with a voice like honey, regarding you with a raised eyebrow.”Water for me, please. I still have some jousting yet before the prize is mine, Your Ladyship.”Lady Fallavon’s smirks at your insistence, an expression that is easy on the eyes with her pouty lips. ”As you wish, Sir. Just the one glass to celebrate your victory?””…just the one.” It is hard to refuse the gaze of such a distinguished noblesse, or the easy air of quiet authority she exudes. Basing this off your interaction with Lord Duncan”I must say, Sir Andri, that was very good of you to give the other knight a fair chance. Very chivalrous of you. It was nice.” The shy speaker next to Lady Fallavon must be Mademoiselle Ava Sinclair, cousin to another one of the local contestants. Her hair is a flaming red and she appears to be self-conscious about her extensive freckles. ”Oh, I mean Sir Andrei! Not Andri. Of course.””Nice is it, Ava?” Lady Fallavon comments wryly, that all-knowing smirk alone even has you doubting your own actions. ”Perhaps others will not see it as you do. Where you see ‘chivalry’ they might see weakness. And attempt to use it. Do be careful, Sir, your next opponents will likely be of a different calibre entirely.”[2/3]
>>3618177A mean, it's one glass of wine and we probably have decent tolerance. Besides, the rule is no more glasses than wheeps when driving and horses have 4 legs so that's like a glass a lady.
>>3618180Dude. Horses drive themselves.
My god forgotten, you weren't joking about the potential waifu wars here were you
>>3618181But can they joust?
>>3618177>Where you see ‘chivalry’ they might see weaknessthe fuck you say bitch? We don't need to be unchivalrous to make up for "lacking" in other areas
>>3618187I think she was implying that some other knights think what we did was weakness, instead of striking hard whilst we could
>>3618187When she puts it like that it makes it sound like our cock isn't huge when it is. So fuck her.
>>3618191Have we rolled for dick size yet? Im pretty sure we were just good at it last time with tracker.
>>3618189It's a joke, bro. We shouldn't bother how they feel about it though. It sounds like dudes making up for their small penises. >>3618191this knigga gets it
>>3618186> Hannibal rears rampant and knocks the opponent off their horse with his giant horse cock.Maybe? I mean, he was pretty ballsy so far, the rod might match the tackle.>>3618187Our opponents thoughts are their own and nothing more. If they think we might be weak, all we have to do is beat them. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
>>3618187yeah yeah muh chivilary is the end all and be all of positive qualities we get it she clearly doesn't think that way

>>3618177[3/3]”Oh right. Of course. Silly me.” Mademoiselle Sinclair nods agreeably, sinking back from the conversation. According to the friendly but less-than-subtle Lady Rabe she is newly come to womanhood, still learning the ropes.”Sir Andrei, an unexpected pleasure.” Josephine Daubeny at the far end smiles as you join them in the stands. She wears a red kirtle, but also a black ribbon and long black gloves going up past the elbow which strike you as quite out of fashion.”Congratulations on your victory.””Poor girl. She quite fancied this Aubres gentleman but he died fighting snakemen or something or other.” Lady Rabe’s voice appears genuinely sympathetic as she confides in you while she returns to her seat, but unfortunately Lady Rabe’s whispering is about as discreet as her brother and nearly as loud. ”But they didn’t have anything official going on, so her mother’s not even letting her dress in mourning. Wouldn’t want to put would-be suitors off. Heartless, really.””It was beastmen, Your Ladyship. And you need not inform Sir Andrei, he was the one who told us of Gabriel’s…” The Mademoiselle Daubeny wears a thin smile, touching the ribbon in her hair with one gloves hand. ”I wear this black ribbon in memory of him.”Lady Rabe looks aghast, turning as red as a beetroot in moments. ”…oh bollywog! I’ve gone and done it again. Me and my stupid big mouth.”You for one are impressed that Lady Rabe restrained herself to ‘bollywog’, given the language you’ve been exposed to while accompanying her brother on the road.===========================================================(1) You have time to watch the next three jousts before retiring to prepare yourself. >>3618264Yeah that's cool, I wasn't sure if it was me misreading or other people since a few votes were like that
>>3618261Oh sure, get him his fetish but cock-block mine. That's cool. That's cool. It's not like I come from a very Irish-English family and have redhead sisters and am just kinda sick of this shit or anything.Every fucking time.
>>3618269Hahaha oh man, sorry anon, next time ay?
>>3618269Anon if you wanted us to court you instead, all you had to do was just ask.
>>3618245But which Rabe?
You're all thinking I'm crazy for saying geting all the favors but I bet you forgotten has a dc bonus for having favor AND IT STACKS
>>3618273>>3618274Nah, whatever.Honestly, this game is probably the closest most of you will get actually achieving this in real life.I've dated plenty of tiny tormenting women who seem adorable at first and then unleash their inner batshit "Well, you shouldn't have left the whiskey out if you wanted to keep it" so I guess I'm good.Just. Seriously. What's with the level of desperation for Redheads that comes with the fetish. It's like being a furry, or a foot fetishist, but for hair. You know women dye that shit all the time, right?Whatever. It's a waifu vote. You can't judge people for voting for what they like.I'm just disappointed that you voted for someone else who wasn't me. I'm pretty self-centered like that.So I'll just say some hurtful words and make things worse to feel better. This habit of mine has a lot to do with why I'm here instead of getting a 3DPD right now.
>>3618276Why are you namefagging now? Does your autism know no bounds? Oh and it's supposed to be insulting one of the anons here. Come on man, after Forgotten asked us all to cut that shit out?
>>3618279I honestly am not agains tthe idea. I think it could be great. On the last one we could be a bit more somber and ask for her favour to dedicate the win to her dead betrothed or something.
>>3618218>Mademoiselle Josephine Daubeny, late-fiancee to Sir Gabriel Rousseau.>No
>>3618279>>3618218Switching my vote to this. Fuck it. Let's go all in.Tell Brunhilde it'll be funny, ask Elisabeth if they'll still be able to think we're weak if we have someone of her stature behind us, get Sinclair to go along with it because everyone else is, and as Daubeny if you can carry this lance for the honor of her family. That's right, going for the Widow. Clearly her husband was a brave man to go out and fight the foe, but it's a shame she came all the way here and couldn't see him compete. Maybe if she could lend us a ribbon, his spirit could help us and we could let him stand in spirit on the field once more not in desperate combat but honorable performance. Of course, we would have to offer to put something up if we lose. We're on one pilgrimage already, we could always go and stand a vigil for her husband as well.Is this batshit crazy? Yes. But I'm feeling it.Not an actual change of vote. There's no way to make it work.
>>3618285Are there enough rounds to get a favor per round? Because that way it could actually work.
>>3618288If people are willing to support this then I'll go in on it because it's both fucking hilarious and would do amazing things for our reputation
>>3618279>Implying we won't fail spectacularlyThis is women we're talking about, on a Forgotten quest!
>>3618262For me it isn't even the fact that she's a redhead. It's how timid she is. Big man going for the small, timid, and naive girl is the high testosterone choice.
>3618282>Forgotten asked us all to cut that shit out? Then why are you starting shit again then?
>>3618218Switching my vote.>Still talk to the redhead>Ask every girl for favor
>>3618295We're not starting anything retarded namefaggot
>>3618218Changing my vote >>3618236 to "All the Favors" with a bet that if we lose we'll owe each lady one Chivalrous Deed in return for them helping us make our banner, and a separate promise to Lady Daubeny that we will stand a vigil for her Husband regardless of whether or not she gives us a favor to represent her, and through her him, on the field. After all, while he may have made the ultimate sacrifice, he left behind a faithful wife who still remembers him and we would like to honour that. In a way he's been lucky to have such a wife, we hope we can also find such true love in life.
>>3618295You know what? Nevermind mate, if it helps you feel like you fit in or whatever you can keep that shit in your name.>>3618218Sorry Forgotten, changing my Favour vote to support getting one from each girlMy previous votes are here:>>3618237>>3618261
>>3618288>>3618218Okay, actually changing my vote then.Since this is getting some traction. >>3618295> Namefagging> Not taking the name MontbrunfagTough titties bitch, it's mine now and you can't use it ironically anymore.
I can't wait to see the rolls for this. It's going to be fucking glorious whether we pass or fail. If we pass it's a total power move, if we fail it's just typical old Emile not understanding women at all
>inb4 the dc involved is a courtly DC and too high a failure fucks with future romancing of these girls
All men of reason please join me in not voting for this, this is gonna be a disaster I feel like it
>>3618307That's part of the fun honestly, it might be a failure but it's the kind of risk that is worth taking a shot at. Imagine if we pass
>>3618218>> Mademoiselle Josephine Daubeny, late-fiancee to Sir Gabriel Rousseau.> Yes
>>3618307Sometimes losing is fun, anon.
>>3618309We're in a courtly behaviour scenario with rules of engagement. This likely runs foul of treating this whole thing like a joke which can bring shame on our family. This is folly.
>>3618305I like the plan >>3618300 where we get them to help us because we don't have a banner of our own. I think making a bet of it might be a good way to convince them too. Clearly I'm down with doing Daubeny a vigil since I originally proposed it >>3618288.Worst comes to worst, we get some short sidequests and get teased and that's my fetish a little or put out a bit of effort, or Daubeny says no but we can still get 3 which ain't bad.I mean rolls could fuck that up hard, but if we pull off getting all the favors and the rolls fuck us then clearly that was their plan all along.Sometimes dice just don't give a fuck.
>>3618307>this is gonna be a disaster I feel like itYeah, this. It's why I voted for Karlaus. We should find a not!Joan of Arc knight waifu honestly. It would be fitting for Emile since he's from Romaine where women are allowed to be cross dressers.
>>3618307Thats the best bit, if we fail we fail SPECTACULARLY but if we succeed we are going to be the most absolutely legendary fucking Chad knight to come out of this tourney, we'll have fucking songs composed of this shit seriouslythe Knight of many favorsthe Knight of ladied lovethe Bear of romanie with honey in his hairThis will either be the stuff of legends or the stuff of legends
I'm move by the supporting votes for my fe- I mean for Ava. I don't support asking a favor from every girl since it would make us seem foolish and the risk of failure is very likely greater. Also what's the distinction between lady and Mademoiselle.
>>3618300I like it
>>3618317>We should find a not!Joan of Arc knight waifu honestly.. . . . . So a trap?
Thank the Almighty I checked the thread before nodding off. As HILARIOUS as the results would be I am vetoing the Chad-gotta-court-'em-all write-in. Maybe if you were the flower of Canton chivalry you could pull it off, or at least had minmaxed your Courtship buffs and re-rolls. But no I cannot bring myself to write the results. I don't think I've actually had to step in a veto a vote before, but there it is.Fuck me, you guys are funny. Also, cut the namefagging.
>>3618314See>>3618311Plus I think we can ride the wave of our current charm from the show of chivalrous behaviour on the tourney grounds. Along with Rabes sister seeming like someone who could appreciate a bit of scandalous behaviour and I think offering to dedicate the win to Mademoiselle Josephine Daubeny (along with the vigil that was a good idea) would be the icing on the cake.>>3618331Welp nevermind
>>3618251Saved like the fist of the north star.
>>3618331cheers forgotten
>>3618331BOO! Goddamit why do all my votes end up getting trashed in these threads
>>3618331Back to Brunhilde then.
>>3618331Amazing. This is the first time Forgotten has vetoed a write-in because of how dumb it'll be.>3618330Man your mind is on vacation but your mouth is working overtime.
>>3618331I'm sadden that you did not appreciate my attempts at courting you.
>>3618331My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined (just memeing)
>>3618218Returning to original vote then.>Sit by the beautiful redhead and ask her hand in ma-- favor.
>>3618339Seriously dude, go choke on a rock. You're being such a cunt to people so needlessly
>3618345I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.
>>3618351 If you think you ethugs can't be traced and tracked... think again // I've got you're house pinpointed and I'm going to lock you in the freezer tough guy On-topic comment: Sworn to Valour is a series of "quest threads" about a knight named Andre Emile.
>>3618345Lol he can't even reply to posts properly, and he's still namefagging.I bet he's all fucked up on meth or Ritalin and posting. My posts always get fucked up like . . . well not like THAT, but it's embarrassing when I sober up.I mean, I don't use grade school one liner insults from google. I like to think I at least put some sincere effort into my shit-posting. Just ignore him, he just wants conflict so that he can shit the bed and then claim he "won" again.Or don't, honestly it's gone from funny to sad but I think there's a good chance it could come back around to funny again.
>>3618331Thank you, also what's the difference between Mademoiselles and ladies?
>>3618355On-topic comment: Gabriel dying and the creation of Emile was in retrospect one of the best possible outcomes for the quest. He died in the first thread before too much was invested, gave newbies a shock treatment about the lethality of the game if they insisted on fighting despite poor rolls and dangerous situations, and it created a salt mine eternal that helped shape and unify the direction Anons wanted to take Emile in.Until waifu's.
>>3618363On-topic comment: I had no interest in this setting and I never participated in Clack Company, BUT when I saw the first main character die early in the opening thread and the emergence of the new hero I fell in love.
>>3618361Well, in the world Mademoiselle is an unmarried woman, a term equivalent to Monsieur in the French language. It was replaced by Madam to remove any indication of their marital status.Whereas a Lady is a formal English title. So it could just be a regional linguistic difference, or it could indicate that titles aren't necessarily held by women depending on where they are from, or it could be that two are married and two aren't.
>>3618355...Are you threatening to dox me?
>>3618367Yeah, Forgotten does NOT fudge dice rolls.>>3618361Oh, Lady can also be an informal term of respect in English.
>>3618371What noDamoiselle / Mademoiselle = unmarried womanDamoiseau = unmarried man (never used)Madame = married womanMonsieur = married man
>>3618372Are you ok?
>>3618372 I guess we're not on the same layer of irony. Or you're not on any layer of irony at all and you're somehow this much of an asshole, or maybe you're way above/below me on the irony ladder. To keep things on topic, though, we're at a tournament and we're going to have a joust.
>>3618218> Mademoiselle Ava Sinclair, cousin to Sir Jean Sinclair.Yes for the favor
Forgotten, you should disregard the votes of namefags methinks.
>>3618377A Monsieur is a Monsieur married or unmarried. Damoiseau, like you said, is never used and comes from Old French pre-14th century although I believe even then it wasn't terribly common.Fuck French is fucking stupid. Almost as stupid as English, but at least English works even when it's being stupid.
>>3618367Off-topic comment: I want Emile to impregnate the everliving hell out of Mademoiselle Sinclair.
>>3618380Yeah, I'm jolly.>>3618381I'm not gonna bother trying to discern the irony of threats in 4chinz.If you want stuff on topic then sure. On-topic comment: It's ridiculous how much samefagging has happened in this quest. I recall a vote that got 40 voters or some funny bullshit like that.>>3618394My vote isn't gonna win anyway.
>>3618395There's nothing stupid about all this, and do keep in mind the medieval setting of the quest
>>3618396Wait, that's on-topic.I also want Emile to do that, but he shouldn't put his raging 5.8" in her until they're married and in love.
>>3618396And sully an unwed lady with a bastard, that really doesn't seem like an Emille thing to do.even if you are my nigga and love redheads too and as much as I fucking despise the stubborn jackassery of Idealism in this quest it's just not an Emille thing to do
>>3618400Well then, just to clarify, I'm not going to track you down and lock you in a freezer.
>>3618396Sex in the missionary position for the purposes of recreation? Reported.>>3618400Lurk more faggot. That's a common saying here, Newfriend, on the 4chans. You might encounter it when you, I'm sure by accident, contravene the board culture or reveal yourself to be ignorant of common knowledge. It's supposed to be a FRIENDLY reminder that it's better to stay quiet when you are unsure of what to say at all.And remember, unless you post screenshots, phone camera pics, or for some insane reason any personal info in the Name or Options field by accidental autofill, nobody knows who you are here and nobody gives a fuck.So don't get hotter under the collar than two squirrels fucking in a wool sock from what people say here. And if it ever gets too bad, reset your ip and pretend to be someone else entirely and let the old ID die.> Bitching about samefaggingLet me tell you about the old /tg/ days and the 5 minute vote windows of Y or N to trigger the 5 minute delay between making identical posts. >>3618409>>3618410>but he shouldn't put his raging 5.8" in her until they're married and in love.>And sully an unwed lady with a bastard, that really doesn't seem like an Emille thing to do.It's why I said it was off-topic. If it was on-topic then I would have prefaced the impregnation with marriage.
>>3618417Ah, gotcha.
>>3618412That wasn't the part I was talking about. I was talking about the former.>f you think you ethugs can't be traced and tracked... think again // I've got you're house pinpointed>3618415Damn. You're like a beaten wife that keeps coming back. You've been saying that'll you just keep ignoring me for like a zillion times, but you keep replying to me for some reason.

>>3618432What can I say, you're cheap entertainment.I kinda feel bad because I'm pretty sure after your reaction to >>3618412 that you're actually disabled, but it could just be really dedicated trolling. What can I say, in the end it's easier to give advice than it is to follow it.
>>3618438The best trolls keep you guessing. So props to that guy, I guess.
>3618438By God, I don't know what makes you so stupid, but it really works.>>3618451I'm not trolling. I was just arguing, but then all of the sudden fags got frustrated and started throwing labels and shitflinging at me, so I flung back.
>that one guy that's still namefaggingSacre bleu!
>>3618218I forgot to say but shouldn't you treat this as a contentious vote, Forgotten? The chances of something like waifushit getting samefagged are very, very high.
>>3618586Surely he has already considered this. Besides, now that he has shot down Emile Bigalo, Male Kniggalo, who wouldn't want to put the moves on the little red headed maiden?
>>3618218>Lady Brünhilde Rabe, sister to Sir Karlaus Rabe.>Yes
>>3618714...this is me. Lost my wifi for a sec.
>>3618586Oi. j35/iB/K, you are just being outright insulting without contributing anything to the discussion with these last few posts. And that namefagging which I have told you to stop. One more incident and I will ignore your votes and rolls. And if you change ID to avoid that I will do my best to ignore all new ID rolls as well.Stop it.
>>3618361In this setting, Mademoiselle indicates that the women is of noble birth but not an immediate relative to the Lord of the House (or Lady in Romaine when that occurs).Your Mother, sisters, aunts and grandmother (on Father's side) would all be granted the title Lady as they are one step away from the Lord Andrei on the family tree. Your female cousins, nieces and daughters you have would hold the title Mademoiselle. I'm sorry for the confusion as it is not in the normal use of things (Frenchies, right), just trying to distinguish at a glance exactly how close the ladies you're dealing with are in the circles of power.
>>3619211Thanks, just knew there was a distinction for a reason.
>>3619228This is me, just got home.

>>3619620/tg/ Filename threads. They're a precious resource for shitposting.
>>3619636I honestly wonder what kind of over-protective father there is in her life that Ava Sinclair grew up such an overprotective father.

Recast VoteThe level of shitposting (and almost NONE of it waifu related) and checking for samefags is making it difficult for me to calculate votes. I anticipated the need for a recall narrowing down the options but please keep things polite (or at the least on topic, Cain blast it). I can see that Lady Fallavon is getting no love Not much surprise in hindsight, she'd be an even harder catch than Lady Norveski and there is a general lean towards asking the selected lady for her Favour before you depart to prepare for the quarter-finals.I have a bit on my plate so the vote will remain open indefinitely for today and I will post here with at least an hour warning before rolls are called (for the courtship and then quarter-final tilt). EST 8-9 hours from now but that is far from solid.=================================New IDs will not be counted unless linking back to an earlier vote.> The pale, petite, raven-black chatterbox. Btw, all said ladies are wearing some derivative of this fashion. I think we talked about it during our visit to the Aubrey markets and letter home to your sisters. Since you're wearing fashionable attire fresh from the capital, my guess is you have a hat yourself.>>3619678Cain on the Cross...

Good work, soldiers. Operation is running smoothly. We may win the affection of that firecrotched dame yet.
>>3619793> The pale, petite, raven-black chatterbox. [Lady Brünhilde Rabe]Yes
>>3620014You mean the naive and perhaps overly young one? Doesn't make for a great story. At least Rabe is funny and will lead to all sorts of proper trouble, not to mention the reaction of her brother.
>>3620038She's not overly young. She recently became a woman, Forgotten said. Also, shy is hot. Are you telling me you don't want a redhead nervously asking if she can touch your muscles?
>>3620063I think bullying sir rabe in tardem with his sister is more fun.
>>3620105Well, Rabe is our comrade so we'll probably have plenty of access to his sister. We may never see Firecrotch again.
>>3620063Nope. That sounds like some /fit/ fantasy that will go badly if Anons try to Chad it up like they didn't get massively emasculated by Jo when they spaghetti'd the whole thing.Either she's putting up a front, or she has a hyper-protective relative somewhere that's gonna be able to smell the Beta on all of you by how you go for the "weakest" woman.Y'all gonna get shot with rocksalt in the dick.
>>3620063So by any reasonable definition for such a setting, wouldn't that make her years younger than us? And it may reduce our chances with the Rabe-spawn later to ask for some other girl's favor right in front of her after she brought us up to the box. >>3620105This.
>>3620143>>3619906Oh fukkin NOW my wifi picks up. Fuck movings a bitch.Anyways. At leaet you're not trying to cuck the dead by going after an ex-characters widow.I would have voted for Mademoiselle Josephine Daubeny but that's just lame that she's the ex of a dead character.
Although I'm on Team Firecrotch, I will say this:In the interest of preventing full-blown cancerous waifufaggotry, I hope people graciously accept whatever the end result is.
>>3620266I guess.Voted for Lady Rabe because this is a level of sass i can appreciate.>Ladies, this is Sir Emile Andrei and if half of what my brother has said is true he can lift dragons and slay mountains.”

>>3620266Eh. Voting for the most boring option possible is at least consistent, I guess. If you lads genuinely want to vote based on a physical description (when they're all pretty anyway) instead of for what makes a better story then go right ahead. It does make me miss Black Company even more though. Players seemed to be more adventurous.>>3619678Lol I missed this. What the fuck.
>>3620403Why is everyone saying she's boring? Shy isn't boring. All a matter of taste.
>>3620403>It does make me miss Black Company even more though. Players seemed to be more adventurous. You mean where we fucked the traitor White Bitch while possessed and later killed our unborn child and Get Out Of Hell Free card so that we could immediately have revenge on her?I mean. From an objective PoV we made *absolutely terrible* choices for waifu's in that game. Like, about the worst possible ones and even some impossibly bad choices. So I personally find this "go for the redhead" to actually be very reminiscent of BCQ.>>3620395Guess I played myself pointing that out. >>3620403He's living the dream.
