In this quest you play as Wade Wakeman, a 16 year old boy with a heart of gold and the wielder of the Omnitrix. This story is being told in an alternate universe, in which there are no longer any remaining Tennysons. Characters from earlier seasons will appear, but not always in a way that you’d expect.

Archive:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Ben+10+Quest

Last time: Wade's flashbacks are becoming more and more unusual, and he finds himself reliving a memory that hasn't quite happened yet...

Rules:
Most dice rolls will be 1d100. Modifiers will be added depending on the situation or on the alien being used. Crit successes and crit fails apply.

To roll dice, type “dice+1d100” in the options field without the quotations.

(Went with the option that everyone agreed upon.)

[Wade]: You gonna pay for that? Because I don’t think I can spot you this time.

The deceitful old hag adopts a sour sneer as she turns to acknowledge you. It would seem that she’s the bottom half of the mask to match the style of her previous one. That green is really clashing with the rest of her outfit, though.

[Mother]: Wade Wakeman. What a surprise. I figured that I’d run into you eventually. In fact, I was hoping for the opportunity to test out my newly acquired artifact. I’ll have you pay for the suffering and humiliation that I’ve endured!

Her sour expression transforms into a sick, twisted smile, as she raises her hands to the sky and casts some sort of enchantment over herself. In the blink of an eye, her appearance transforms to that of...Ahsoka Tano?!!!

The cute teenage Togruta from the beloved Star Wars animated series stands before you, real as ever! Is this an illusion? If it is, then Mother’s paying real close attention to each and every detail of the character from the show. Up to her revealing clothing…

[Wade]: Wow, that’s some dedicated cosplay you’ve got right there…

Mother twirls her lightsabers as she smiles deviously. She begins to inspect her petite and toned body, doing a little twirl to test out her newly acquired physique.

[Mother]: So, this is what you like? You have such strange desires, for a human boy.

Desire? What’s she talking about? I mean, you always found Ahsoka to be cute, but the word “desire” is a bit…

You thoughts are cut short by the humming of Mother’s activated dual lightsabers. She attacking! You really hope those things don’t hurt as bad as you think they will!

>Block the sabers with your energy shield and deliver a swift kick to her exposed gut.
>Evade her attack and deliver a powerful punch to where you think the mask should be.

No time to cycle through your transformations!

[Wade]: Trixy! Zipmunk! Now, please!

In an instant, you are bathed in violet light as your body quickly transforms into that of Zipmunk! You're really glad that Trixy doesn't try to choose your aliens for you when your life is in danger.

Mother's swing passes right over your head, given that you've shrunken a few feet in about half a second. She just stares at you with a look of bewilderment spread across her face, which quickly turns to one of rage and frustration.

She attempts to assault you with a flurry of strikes, but your small and nimble body allows you to dodge her absurdly fast swings without letting the sabers touch you at all. She's almost got the strength and speed of a real Jedi. What's up with that?

[Wade]: So this thing let's you transform into whatever someone likes?

[Mother]: Zip it, Sleemo!

Her saber swings are getting so close that they're starting to singe your fur.

[Wade]: And a one on one transformation at that.

The weird part is that she sounds and acts pretty similar to Ahsoka. Is that on purpose, or is she unintentionally taking the personality traits from the character?

You perform a backflip in order to avoid a downward strike, but your feet never touch the ground. You're floating! She couldn't be...

[Mother]: Stop moving around so much, you little fuzzball!

She's using the force! How's this even possible? How are you gonna avoid the next swing?!! All of the battery acid coursing through your veins is rushing to your head as you desperately attempt to think of a way out of this.

>Gather all of the energy in the room and use it to create an energy barrier.

Adding, can we try to find the artifact she's using? Does it give off an energy signature or anything?
And can zipmunk sense that?
>>
>>3634874
Well it's a mask and she's still wearing it. It's in the same place as it was before, but the enchantment makes it so that you only see the character, or "fantasy".

It doesn't give off an energy signature that you recognize, mostly due to its strange mystical nature. You can try to target it if you want, though.

But for now...

You've only got one shot at this! You release a powerful burst of electricity and direct it towards Mother's hands, causing her entire body to spasm as she cries out in pain.

The sabers fly from her hands as she let's go of them at the beginning of her swing. Thankfully, they fly off into the corner of the room without even grazing you.

[Wade]: Phew...

Sparks fly from her slightly singed orange skin as she glares at you with glowing eyes. She extends her hand towards you and let's out a war cry, causing the air around you to stir and shift.

[Wade]: Uh-oh...

Suddenly, you are flung backwards with great force, sending you hurtling through a wall and into an empty hallway! Your bones creak and your muscles ache as you bounce off of the ground several times, before hitting your head upon sliding into a pedestal. You feel a dull pain plaguing your body, making it a bit difficult for you to pick yourself up and wipe the dust off of your fur. It's a hood thing that Zipmunk is kinda sturdy.

[Wade]: Now that's just unfair…

You let out a cute little cough, followed up by a squeaky sneeze from the crazy amount of dust floating in the air. You're not sure if it's from the rubble and drywall, or the janitor not doing his job properly. But you guess it's pretty difficult to sweep up the place when you're getting knocked out every night.

[???]: What is?

[Wade]: That mask! It's totally broken! How am I supposed to-

Hold up. Who are you even talking to?

You turn around to see a much younger version of Hope towering over you. Is that...your Hope. Like the one from your timeline? You thought she was in an orphanage. She looks much taller now. More grown up and...mature. You wonder if she even remembers you. After all, she met Wade, but not X.

>"What're you doing here?"
>"Don't tell me you're after that artifact too."
>"Man, you've really changed since I last saw you. I guess girls really do mature faster than boys."
>"You wouldn't happen to be on my side, would you?"
"You should get out of here. There's a crazy powerful sorceress in there, and I don't want you getting hurt."
>"Great. More magic..."

[Wade]: Maybe this museum would be better off staying open 24/7. They’d make a killing.

Charcaster raises an eyebrow to your statement, clearly confused by your presence and your ability to speak. You’d love to catch up with her, but you don’t have the time for idle chatter.

[Wade]: You should get out of here. There’s a crazy powerful sorceress in there, and I don’t want you getting hurt.

[Charmcaster]: Yeah, I know. She’s my great grandma.

What?! They’re actually related? That...kinda makes some sense, actually.

[Wade]: Well your grandma’s got her hands on some stupid strong magical artifact. Think you might be able to persuade her to give it up?

[Charmcaster]: Not likely. She’s always had an indomitable will, even in exile.

You open your mouth to ask her another question, but she walks away from you before you get the chance to. You follow closely behind her, as she enters the exhibit with her staff raised. Mother isn’t here…

[Wade]: Where’d she go?

Charmcaster raises her nose to the air and closes her eyes as she inhales deeply.

[Charmcaster]: Teleportation spell. I can track it, but I have to move fast.

[Wade]: You mean “we” need to move fast.

[Charmcaster]: No way. She has the Helm of Desire. The more people we bring into this mess, the stronger she gets. You'll only make things worse. Besides, I do my best work when I’m alone.

She storms of towards the museum’s exit without so much as a glance in your direction.

>”I need your help to find Mother, and you need my help to beat her. So why don’t we team up just this once? You can even tell everyone that you beat her all by yourself.”

You scurry over to Hope and walk alongside her as she walks towards the exit.

[Wade]: I need your help to find Mother, and you need my help to beat her. So why don’t we team up just this once. You can even tell everyone that you beat her all by yourself.

[Hope]: Don’t care. And I don’t need any help.

You get in front of her, only to be moved by some sort of telekinesis spell.

[Wade]: Yeah? Well this whole “lone wolf” act isn’t gonna cut it. People could get hurt if you screw up.

[Hope]: Then stay out of my way. This is a family matter.

She pushes you aside with her bird skull staff and continues towards the exit. This is a pretty big museum!

[Wade]: I don’t care about your family issues. If she makes it to a highly populated area, then we stand a much smaller chance at actually beating her.

[Hope]: Your presence would only make her stronger.

[Wade]: Maybe. But it’s gotta be better than letting her come into contact 200 people instead of two.
Hope’s pace doesn’t slow down, so you move in front of her and spread your arms.

[Wade]: Please?

You give her your cutest pair of puppy dog eyes and flash a small smile, exposing your buck teeth. Hope crosses her arms and looks away from you. She’s struggling to resist your cute display. You hold the smile for a few more seconds, and your cheeks start to cramp up a bit. Hope taps her foot impatiently in an attempt to distract herself, but you can tell that it isn’t working.

[Hope]: Fine! Come on…

She storms out of the museum, blowing the doors with her magic whilst mumbling under her breath. You knew that she couldn’t resist the puppy dog eyes.

[Wade]: So, what’s our next move? Are we gonna teleport to your secret base or your inner sanctum?

Hope snaps her fingers, signaling a rusty old Volkswagen Beetle to park itself in front of you. She climbs into the driver's seat and opens the door to the passenger seat.

[Hope]: Hop in.

Without wanting to insult her broken down vehicle, you hop up onto the peeling leather seat, nearly slipping off due to it’s poor quality. Hope notices that your claws are digging into her seat, so she grabs you by your scruff, plops you down into the seat and places your seat-belt over your scrawny little neck.

[Hope]: Here, take this.

She hands you a crumpled map of Downtown Bellwood, along with some sort of triangular magnifying glass.

[Hope]: That should be able to tell us where she is, or where she’s going.

Suddenly, the map straightens itself out and the magnifying glass begins shifting around, as if it were a living thing.

[Hope]: So, what are you anyway? A shapeshifter? Some sort of familiar of magical beast?

[Wade]: Oh, just your friendly neighborhood Emissary from Hell.

You erupt into an uproarious laughter, kicking your feet and giggling at your own joke. Zipmunk can make literally anything seem cute.

You glance at Hope, who seems to be staring at you with a straight face. She doesn't seem disappointed or upset by your joke, but she seems to genuinely believe your words. Is consorting with demons a normal thing for her?

[Hope]: Huh, that's cool. Always wanted to go there.

[Wade]: Nah, I'm actually human most of the time.

You time out early in a blinding yellow flash, forcing Hope to shield her eyes for a moment. She inspects your disguised human form, hoping to draw more information from your appearance.

[Hope]: So you were a shapeshifter!

[Wade]: Sure. Let's go with that.

The vehicle's engine sputters are spews smoke every few minutes, causing you to worry for its structural integrity. This thing probably relies on magic to even run properly. You're glad that you didn't bring Kevin along. He wouldn't be able to shut up about all the ways he could improve this crap wagon.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, it seems that you're getting closer and closer to Mother's location. You're a bit worried since you're going deeper into the inner city, but as long as she isn't in a highly populated area-

[Hope]: We're here.

The car comes to a screeching halt without warning, and Hope exits the vehicle without properly parking it. You look out the window to see that you've stopped in front of a mall.

[Wade]: This...might be bad…

How are you gonna play this?

>Focus on evacuating the mall, thus greatly reducing Mother's strength. Rad-El Snake should do the trick!
>Sneak inside amongst the panic and blindside Mother when she isn't looking. (Which alien?)
>Use Thriller Whale to put the civilians to sleep. Mother might not be able to use them against you if they're sleeping.

[Wade]: We've gotta get those people out of there.

[Hope]: Got any bright ideas?

[Wade]: Yup. And his name's Rad-El Snake!

You open up the faceplate on your Omnitrix and select Rad's icon, before slamming your hand down onto the device's core. In a flash of violet light, your limbs stretch outward and your muscle density increases exponentially. Razor sharp fangs spring from your mouth and your legs fuse together to form a tail. You've become Rad-El Snake!

You slither on over to the mall's entrance and bust the doors down in your haste. But it seems that your sudden entrance incited a panic amongst the civilians inside. Hope enters soon after you, clearly confused by the commotion that was inadvertently caused by your appearance.

[Hope]: Where's Mother?

You open up your shades and use your hypnotic gaze to command everyone inside of the mall to exit in a calm and orderly manner. You don't spot anything too unusual amongst the hypnotized crowd.

[Wade]: I dunno, bro. Lemme give my nose a try.

You raise your nose to the air, taking in the clashing scents of perfume, musk, fear and excitement, and you happen across an unusual smell. Like a musty old book trying to hide its age by smothering itself with perfumed oils. Must be Mother. You close in on her scent, desperate to separate her from the crowd before she does anything that could threaten their lives. Once you've gotten close enough, you grab onto the arm of whatever is emitting the scent.

[Wade]: Gotcha!

A beautiful blonde woman turns around to face you, and you can't help but think that you've seen her somewhere…

[Jennifer]: Eek! A monster!

"Eek"? Who says "Eek" anymore? But aside from that, this girl looks just like Jennifer Nocturne. You would've been fooled if you hadn't known that Jennifer Nocturne was in Paris right now. Julie tweeted about it a while back. This has to be an imposter!

[Jennifer]: Somebody help me!

For a moment, her eyes glow purple and she winks at you. This little-

[Hope]: Leather jacket-wearing Demon, look out!

Is that supposed to be you? It's just dawned on you that you never exchanged names. Mostly because you already know who she is. That might've come off as a little bit rude. Maybe you should-

[Wade]: Oof!

You're suddenly tackled by a horde of men, most of which had already been hypnotized by you. How's this possible?

[Wade]: Like, what gives? You're all supposed to be under my righteous command.

A sickening, wicked laughter escapes the pretty lips of the Jennifer Nocturne imposters confirming your initial suspicions.

[Mother]: Foolish child. The Helm of Desire commands the weak-willed men of this realm. So long as I give whoever bashes your skull in a nice big kiss~.

[Wade]: Ugh! Grody to the max, man!

Mother's gloating is suddenly interrupted by a mana bolt from Hope. It hits her square in the chest, knocking her backward and causing her illusion to break!

[Mother]: You'll pay for that, you little brat!

You turn to look at Hope and see that she's blushing profusely. Ohhhhh…

OHHHHH!

[Mother]: You just burned away your last chance, Bub.

The muscular mutant leaps towards you with great speed and vigor. You throw off the hypnotized men just in time to react to his attack!

So, how do you react to it?

You spray a glob of venom from a poison gland underneath your tongue, causing it to fly directly into Logan's eyes. Due to his lack of vision, you easily back-step his attack and time out early in a flash of light. The sizzling and hissing of the corrosive acid, mixed in with the pained groans of the illusory X-Man make you feel pretty bad for using this move that you yourself prohibited use of due to its cruelty and inhumanity. But since Logan has a healing factor, you figure that he can take the pain.

Now, time to finish him off Hack and Slash!

You quickly open up your face-plate and select the alien from your quick-list with ease, before slamming your hand down onto the Omnitrix core that pops up. In another blinding flash of light, your body undergoes rapid changes in about half a second. Your muscle and bone density become greatly increased, and your flesh undergoes some type of necrosis, causing it to become discolored. You've become Hack and Slash!

You form a bladed whip from cartilage and sharp bones, extend it towards Mother and command it to coil around her. She struggles and snarls like a wild beast in an attempt to break free, but your blades dig deeper and deeper into her flesh with each passing moment.

[Wade]: Grahh!

You try to scream for Hope, but you forgot that Hack N’ Slash can’t talk. In response, she rummages through her bag and pulls out a rather large spellbook. She quickly flips through the pages, searching frantically for a particular spell. Hopefully she’s got one that can remove the mask.

Suddenly, you feel the whip going slack, as if Mother slipped out somehow. But upon further inspection, it would seem that she’s transformed again. This time, into…OH GOD!

[Hope]: Who’s that? Some asian kid?

It’s Cassandra Cain! You’re so dead!

She jumps out of the way of your whip, and dashes towards you with impressive speed. You never thought a human could run this fast. Peak humans sure are something.

As you bask in the afterglow of meeting a hero you’ve idolized for years, you realize that she’s closed the distance between the two of you in about half a second. You try to move to defend yourself, but your arm is broken from a swift, yet brutal palm strike from Cass. You attempt to create some distance, but not without receiving a parting blow in the form of a devastating straight punch to your kidney.

[Wade]: Grahhh!

Yup. She definitely crushed it…

Hope forces her to back off with some covering fire from her mana bolts. Cass dodges all of them with ease, while trading a few shuriken in the process. Hope forms a barrier to deflect the projectiles, and you think you can see her winking at you. She must be trying to buy time for you to recover.

Cassandra unsheathes two swords from her back and runs straight for you once more. You don’t think you can beat her like this. You need a plan, or a miracle.

>Dislodge your broken arm and use it to extend the range of your punch.
>Focus on healing your arm, and squeeze the life out of her with a bear hug.

You create a sturdy pair of sword breakers on your arms in order to catch her blades in mid-air.

Mother attempts to slash at your rotting figure, but you manage to disarm her with your sword breakers, forcing them out of her hands with your superior strength.

You toss the blades aside and take advantage of her confused state to pull her into a tight bear hug. She attempts to wrestle free from your grasp, but you've made sure to pin her arms underneath your bulky chest as you squeeze the life out of her. Her ribs begin to crack and her joints creak from the stress of your submission hold, but then she does something truly unexpected.

She dislocated her own arms with an audible "pop", and slips them out your grasp. She then pops them back into place and brandishes two razor sharp blades from her gauntlets. You attempt to react before she can make a move, but she's much faster.

Your head flies from your shoulders, and you watch helplessly as your entire world spins wildly out of control. Hope lets out a horrified gasp at the sight of your head rolling along the floor.

[Mother]: Ooh! That felt heavenly! That insolent child was long overdue for a good thrashing.

Mother approaches your detached head, her hands aglow and ready to cast a spell that will put an end to your temporary immortal suffering.

Suddenly, Hope jumps in to defend you from her deranged relative. This comes as a surprise to both you and Mother.

[Hope]: That's enough, Mother!

[Mother]: Charmcaster. I thought that was you. You'd better have a good reason for opposing me. It's not amusing in the slightest.

[Hope]: You're using forbidden magic. That's reason enough.

Mother's face contorts into a wicked grin all of a sudden. What's she plotting?

[Mother]: I just thought you would like to know who you're working with.

Oh no…

[Hope]: What do you mean?

[Mother]: Why, he's the one who put your dear Uncle in prison. He's the reason you ended up in that filthy, miserable orphanage!

Her eyes go wide, and she turns to you with a confused and pained expression. You really wish you could talk right now…

Hope closes her eyes for a moment as she demonstrates her next move. And when she opens them once more, she turns her staff onto Mother!

A mana bolt flies from her stave, seemingly incinerating the crazy old hag. But upon further inspection, it would seem that she narrowly avoided a direct hit by erecting a barrier.

[Mother]: Hmm. Such a pity. And I here I was hoping to spare you from being obliterated during my rise to power. But I can see that you are still but a child. You lack the conviction to see things through, and you've no ambition beyond doing your Uncle's dirty work. I just hope he accepts you back into his home when he learns that you've failed him...again. Farewell~.

She talks way too much when she has the upper hand. It's seriously annoying.

Mother disappears in a puff of smoke, leaving the two of you alone in this empty mall. Hope slowly approaches your detached head, places it onto your body and allows it to recover before the Omnitrix times out.

[Hope]: Tell me she was lying.

[Wade]: Hope, I-

[Hope]: Tell me!

Oh boy. She looks pissed…

>"I'm sorry for lying to you, but I knew that you'd get mad if you found out."
>"I was gonna tell you once this was all over. I swear."
>"I had to stop your Uncle from killing a bunch of innocent people last year. I'm sorry, but it had to be done."
>"You were one of the ones I couldn't save, and I still regret not doing more to help. I'm sorry."

[Wade]: You were one of the ones I couldn't save, and I still regret not doing more to help. I'm sorry.

[Hope]: Sorry?! You're sorry?! I can't believe this!

She somehow looks even more furious than before.

[Hope]: It's because of you that I have to clean up my stupid Uncle's mess! All of his unpaid debts and ill-conceived bargains are all my responsibility now. I've got loan sharks coming after me 24/7. And they're actually real sharks! With teeth and everything!

[Wade]: Wait, so you're not mad about the orphanage? I thought for sure that you'd be more upset about it.

[Hope]: Eh, they actually took better care of me than Uncle Hex. Besides, I always hated that carnival we were staying at. The floors were always sticky, and I must've played those stupid games over a thousand times. They were all pretty much rigged. I'm just glad OSHA did something about them before someone got seriously hurt.

[Wade]: I know, right?! I nearly got killed in that stupid plastic bag they put me in.

[Hope]: Yeah! That one was the worst. I just hope Big Al managed to swim away somewhere before the cops caught him. Really miss that guy. He was always such a good listener.

Hope does a painfully familiar snorting laugh that puts a smile on your face. But once she realizes that she's suddenly been put in a good mood, she clears her throat and turns her back to you in a huff.

[Hope]: I'm still mad at you.

[Wade]: And you've got every right to be. I wanted to be the first one that told you, after all this is dealt with of course.

Hope brushes a tuft of white hair away from her ear and twirls one of her earrings in between her fingers.

[Hope]: So, what do I call you? Seems a little unfair that you know who I am, but I don't know a thing about you.

You didn't expect he to be so open to the idea of getting to know one another.

[Wade]: Call me X. Alot of people do.

You extend your armored hand to her, which she shakes hesitantly. Mother's attempt to drive a wedge between you might have actually caused you to draw closer to one another. You might even be able to become friends.

[Hope]: "X", huh? Sounds mysterious. You can call me Charmcaster.

She seems proud of her magic codename.

[Wade]: Sounds long. Can I call you "Charmy" instead?

[Charmy]: Absolutely not. That sounds stupid. You're definitely not allowed to call me that.

She can't stop your thoughts! And despite her frigid phrases, her demeanor suggests that she enjoys your company.

[Wade]: If you need any help paying off your debts, then I might be able to pull a couple of strings.

Her eyes go wide and gets uncomfortably close to you.

[Hope]: Really?! How much Na'sal do you have in your possession?

[Wade]: Na-what?

[Hope]: Na'sal. Dwarvish gold? The most valuable mineral in the world?

[Wade]: I've got plenty of Taydens. Is that good enough?

Hope lets out an audible sigh and backs away from you.

[Hope]: It's less valuable, but I could use the help.

She crosses her arms and looks off the side for a moment. She seems uncomfortable for some reason.

[Hope]: Why are you being so nice to me? You have no reason to be.

[Wade]: I dunno. You kinda remind me of a really good friend of mine. She's you, but from another dimension. If that makes any sense. I can introduce you to her someday, if you want.

[Hope]: Another dimension?! That'd actually be pretty wicked. Ow!

You look down to see that Hope's bag has bitten her leg for some reason. Is it alive or something?

[Wade]: What was that?

[Hope]: It's an alarm. I think my bag found a spell that I can use against Mother!

The bag coughs up her spellbook and Hope flips through it with haste. Her eyes desperately search for something that she hadn't noticed before and her finger trace the foreign language on the worn pages. Suddenly, her eyes practically light up and she brings the book closer to her face in order to confirm her suspicions.

[Hope]: Yes! This could work! An Enochian incantation might be able to disable the mask for a short time, allowing you to remove it.

[Wade]: Then we'd better find Mother before she causes anymore trouble. Let's roll!

You and Hope hop into her rusty car and reactivate the tracking spell that you had on her.

[Hope]: Where do you think she is?

A loud explosion shakes the ground and causes your vehicle to shudder. And rising from the plume of smoke in the distance, you see...Giganta?!

[Wade]: Well, at least she's close…

[Hope]: Hold on!

Hope's buggy accelerates immediately, sending you flying out of the parking lot and towards the gargantuan woman.

You're gonna need a plan here. How do you plan to fight her?

Hope’s rusty old buggy approaches Mother with surprising speed. Must be because of the magic.

[Hope]: We need to wear her down if this spell is going to work. Got any more big ideas?

[Wade]: Yeah, I’ve got a really big one.

You jump out of the car and quickly select Storm Drain before your feet can touch the ground. In a flash of purple light, you emerge as a non-descript, thin black figure. You search desperately for a source of water, feeling a thirst that could drive a man insane. And that’s when you spot a shiny red fire hydrant. Bingo!

You run over to it, tear the metal plate off of the top and allow yourself to drown in the pressurized geyser of water. Your dry skin soaks up each and every drop, greatly increasing your size to match that of Giganta’s! And it seems like you’ve grabbed her attention with your large presence. You try to tune out the terrified screams of the public, but you can't help but be bothered when you realize that they are afraid of you as well. And you can't blame them. They probably haven't seen you use this alien before.

[Mother]: Get lost, you dirty little sponge. Or do you need me to teach you another lesson?

She loudly cracks her knuckles and prepares to charge at you. You can’t afford to lose this one! And you definetely can't affrod to let any civilians get hurt in the crossfire.

>Wait for her to get close and throw her over your shoulder.
>Grab her hands and hit her with a point blank laser beam.
>Grapple with her and siphon the moisture from her body.
>Hit her with a surprise dropkick!
>Sidestep her charge and strike directly at the back of her head.

Mother charges directly at you, so you brace for impact and engage her in a grappling contest. She nearly overpowers you with sheer brawn, but you're not trying to overpower her.

You sap the moisture from her body, and thus making her dizzy and unstable. She realizes too late and attempts to pull away, but you pull her into a clinch and continue to drain her dry. Once you feel that you've absorbed enough, you let her go for a moment. She struggles to stay on her feet, easily stumbling over an empty bus behind her and falling into a bus stop. You're sure that they'll blame you for all of this later.

But at least no one was hurt. You probably have Charmcaster to thank for that. Must be a warding spell of some sort.

Mother attempts to pull herself off of the ground, but a swift kick to the ribs knocks her down for good. Shortly afterward, the enchantment comes undone and she returns to her original form.

[Hope]: Nice work!

You look down to see Hope standing near your feet and waving up at you. Trixy cancels your transformation early and returns you to your original size.

[Wade]: There's no way I was losing my first Kaiju battle!

[Hope]: A what?

Her confused expression doesn’t surprise you, since not many people can keep up with the crap that comes out of your mouth. You wonder what Ollie’s up to these days…

You turn to Hope and see that she’s causing her spell-book to levitate. Several mystic runes fly from the page and form a circle in front of her. One by one, each rune sticks to the Helm of Desire and causes the artifact to glow golden. Hope makes some complicated looking hand signs and gestures, causing a brilliant flash to form before you!

When you open your eyes once more, the artifact is resting securely in Charmcaster’s hands.

[Hope]: Well, that’s that I guess. I’m gonna store this in my Uncle’s vault back home. What about you?

[Wade]: I’m gonna make a few calls and see what I can do about your debt. I’ve got some friends that dabble in the mystical arts.

[Hope]: You were serious about that? I-I don’t know what to say…

For a moment, she drops her grizzled and hardened demeanor and shows a much more bashful and earnest side of herself. Her bag groans and lets out a faint whisper, drawing her attention the hideous ornament.

[Hope]: That’s right. I should say “thanks”.

[Wade]: No problem. This team-up was fun. We should do this again sometime.

She flashes a genuine smile and extends a hand towards you, which you grab and firmly shake.

With a snap of her fingers, her car comes around and opens its door. She climbs inside with the artifact in tow, rolls down the window and tosses a torn piece of paper at you. It's got her number on it!

[Hope]: If you ever need any help, give me a call.

After a sly wink, her car flies down the road in a puff of smoke. You kneel down to pick up Mother, while going through your contacts to make a call to an old friend.

[Wade]: Hey Kirby. How’ve you been? Could you do me a huge favor?

---------------------------------

You can feel your mind drifting back to the present. Or the future. Time travel is stupid. Either way, you can’t wait to tell Rex and Wendy about your adventure!

You open your eyes to see...a dark forest? Weren’t you in a caravan in the middle of the desert? How’d you get here? Where are your friends? And why does your head hurt so much?!

You take a look around the area to see that it looks like someone has been living here. And by the looks of this tent and campfire, they’ve been here recently.

Suddenly, you hear rustling in a nearby brush. You quickly rise from the cold ground and take a defensive stance, unsure of what to expect. And the person that emerges from it is...Cree? Wasn’t she the lady that attacked your cousin a year ago? If you remember correctly, she was after the Charms of Bezel for some reason or another. And it seems like she’s got a couple of new ones embedded in her suit of armor.

[Wade]: Cree? How’re you still alive?

[Cree]: Funny, I was about to ask you the same thing.

Her voice seems more strained and coarse than it did in the past. Maybe she’s not a time traveler like you are. She might just be old. Like...really old.

Cree slowly approaches you, her cape flowing elegantly in the wind, and you maintain your defensive stance just in case she tries anything funny. She reaches into her cloak to pull something out, presumably a weapon. But, she simply throws a sack of weird looking fish at your feet and sits down next to you.

[Cree]: Dinner time.

Your mask suddenly de-materializes, most likely due to Trixy’s interference.

[Trixy]: You need not be wary around this individual. She has been caring for you while you were unconscious. I made sure that she did not try anything that would compromise your physical health.

[Wade]: Trixy? Can you perform brain scans? You should probably start scanning my brain before, during and after these blackout sessions!

[Trixy]: Understood. I shall see to it that your brain activity is tracked and documented during these “blackouts”.

[Wade]: Thanks. But, how long was I out for? And where are my friends?

Your attention is drawn to Cree, who seems to stoking the flames and preparing to cook the fish that she had caught.

[Cree]: Sit. I will explain everything.

Despite the inner turmoil raging within your mind, you begrudgingly sit beside the strange woman and wait for her to start speaking. It takes a while, and I mean a long while for her to begin. You even consider getting up to explore the dark forest, until she hands you a well done fish, impaled on a charred stick.

You take the fish and bite into its crunchy skin without hesitation. It’s incredibly salty, but it has a gooey texture to it.. Cree seems a bit surprised by your bravery when it comes to eating new and bizarre creatures.

[Cree]: You have been unconscious for quite some time now. Much longer than you’d expect.

[Wade]: ...How long?

[Cree]: Two weeks, give or take a few days. The one who lives within your suit kept your muscles from becoming atrophied by forcing you to move every now and again.

Your heart sinks, and the worst possible scenario forms in your mind. How could you have been out for two and a half weeks?!

[Wade]: Where are my friends?

[Cree]: They were captured by Yojimbo, one of the 47 Oni. His castle is not far from here.

This is insane! How’d all of this happen without you waking up? How’d you avoid being captured if you were unconscious the entire time? You need more answers.

>”I think I met one of these Oni guys a while back. Can you tell me more about them?”
>”How’d you find me?”
>”Why are you helping me?”
>”If you can show me where to find this castle, I’d really appreciate it.

[Wade]: I think I met one of these Oni guys a while back. Can you tell me more about them?

[Cree]: On the day that you had left, Aku sensed a shift in the timeline. He set up multiple bounties in case you had arrived in the future, but they bore no fruit. Rather, those bounties had hindered him and led to the pointless obliteration of his mechanized warriors and several individuals that were of a similar likeness to yourself. And not only that, but the revolutionaries that continued to oppose Aku were beginning to draw strength from the legend of the fabled hero that had once saved the universe.

The old elf takes a bite of her purple fish before she continues any further. Where’s she going with this?

[Cree]: It was then that Aku had decided to revoke the bounties and order his minions to devise a more efficient way to eliminate you. So one of his most loyal subjects, Demongo, had put together a band of powerful warriors, known only as the 47 Oni. Their sole purpose was to eliminate the threat known as “X”.

[Wade]: So they work for Aku. That doesn’t explain how they knew about the Omnitrix.

[Cree]: Aku knows nothing of the Omnitrix, nor its functions. I doubt he even knows much about the Oni. That is why Demongo had recruited an “expert”. Someone who has had experience with operating the device in the past. He is better known as the Black Samurai, the leader of the 47 Oni. I’ve heard rumors that Demongo raised him from the dead and trained him personally in order to make him into the perfect killing machine.

Someone who’s had experience using it? Was there someone that used the Omnitrix before you? If there was, then Azmuth never told you anything about him.

[Wade]: Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to look out for these guys. By the way, do you mind showing me where this castle is? I’d really appreciate it.

[Cree]: I have charted a course to Yojimbo’s castle. This map should see you there safely, as long as you’ve got your wits about you.

Cree reaches into her cloak, pulls out a map and hands it to you. You try to snatch it away, but she keeps a firm grip on the parchment and gives you a stern glare.

[Cree]: I’d be careful if I were you. Aku is crafty and devious. But the Oni, they are persistent. The only reason they live and breath is to bring about your demise. It will not be wise to underestimate them. If they are attacking you now, then that means that they are confident that they can defeat you, even with your Omnitrix.

She lets the map go, allowing you to take it from her. You give her a curt nod and rise to your feet before walking away from the campsite. In the corner of your eye, you can see her returning to her fried fish and bitter tea. You’d like to thank her for taking care of you while you were unconscious, but you can’t afford to waste any time. Your friends need you!
>>
[Wade]: Trixy, I need you to find a way to wake me up if I ever black out for too long.

[Trixy]: Understood. I apologize for allowing your friends to be captured, but I am unable to manipulate your limbs without the risk of breaking your bones.

[Wade]: It’s okay, Trix. These guys probably captured them alive in order to lure me there. We’ll get them back.

You unfold the map and chart a path through the forest using Trixy’s navigational systems. After that, you transform into Bloodrush to greatly shorten your travel time. You would’ve chose XLR8, but you don’t wanna risk anything with this unfamiliar terrain. You can’t afford to twist your ankle on this daring rescue.

While you’ve got some free time, maybe you should chat up Trixy.

>”Hey Trixy, was there anyone that might’ve used the Omnitrix before me?”
>”Do you think that there’s any chance that Azmuth might still be alive?”
>”Hey Trixy, you can detect the signals of other Omnitrices, right? Are there any others still around?”

You try to focus on the rescue mission, but you have way too many questions swimming through your head to focus properly. Hopefully, your friend here can shed some light on the issue.

[Wade]: You’ve been pretty quiet there, Trixy. How’re you holding up?

[Trixy]: I am...concerned, to say the least.

[Wade]: Yeah it’s been pretty weird for me too. Getting thrown into the future and all.

[Trixy]: I am not concerned about the state of our environment. I am concerned about your health. For 16 days, you were in a trance of some sort. Nothing could rouse you from your slumber. It was as if your mind was elsewhere and I was watching over an empty vessel.

Is that why she never woke you up? You wonder why this particular trance lasted for so long.

[Trixy]: Your previous blackout sessions were harmless, lasting only moments. But this one was...odd.

[Wade]: Like how?

[Trixy]: It was if there was something trying to keep you from coming back. But, such a silly notion has no scientific basis, let alone a hypothetical-

[Wade]: Trixy. Just tell me how you feel.

She pauses for a moment, which is rare for her.

[Trixy]: I sensed an unusual energy signature from you during your blackout. It...gave me a strange feeling.

[Wade]: So what should we do?

[Trixy]: Proceed with caution, and allow me to handle the rest. I assure you that no harm will come to you under my watch.

[Wade]: Thanks Trix. Knew I could count on you.

You were kinda hoping that Trixy wouldn't tell you to stop having the blackouts. They’re way too fun! Albeit a bit dangerous.

[Wade]: Hey Trixy, was there anyone that might’ve used the Omnitrix before me?

[Trixy]: There were a select group of individuals that were requested to test out the Omnitrix in its Alpha stages. All of whom were personally requested by Azmuth. Records show that their most efficient users were the late Max Tennyson, [REDACTED], and an individual known as “Abrek”.

Did Aku really resurrect Max and make him into a bad guy? You shudder at the thought. This Max guy is supposed to be the nicest, noblest and most badass space-cop in the galaxy. You’d hate to fight him, but you might not have a choice. And what was with that “Redacted” bit. Must be some sort of Admin block.

[Wade]:Tell me more about this Abrek guy.

[Trixy]: He is a brilliant scientist, and a devious scoundrel. Abrek attempted to copy and “improve” upon the blueprints for the Omnitrix. Azmuth prevented him from doing so, and sent him to the Null Void’s Incarcecon as punishment. He managed to escape multiple times, and is now living out his multiple life sentences inside of the Perplexahedron, an inescapable prison. His intellect is second only to the Great Thinker himself, but even he cannot escape the confines of that containment facility.

You hope so. He sounds like a problem waiting to pop into your life. And speaking of problems, this Black Samurai is sounding pretty similar to the Black Knight from the Forever Knights. Maybe they’re related somehow?
>>
[Wade]: Do you think that the Black Knight and the Black Samurai are related somehow?

[Trixy]: I am unsure. We have yet to encounter this Samurai.

[Wade]: You can detect the signals of other Omnitrices, right? Are there any others still around?

[Trixy]: I am detecting two signals. One of which belongs to the Amalgamtrix, but it is fairly weak. My guess is that it has received significant damage to its core processor. The other belongs to the missing Prototype Omnitrix. Both are fairly distant from our current location.

[Wade]: Think they’ll be a problem?

[Trixy]: To us? Unlikely. We have faced much worse in the past. Defective and obsolete imitations of the Omnitrix shall not hinder us now.

[Wade]: Damn, I’m liking this new attitude!

All you get back is a smug chuckle, but it feels so fulfilling to hear that your AI is growing a personality of her own.

[Wade]: So, what exactly happened while I was unconscious? How’d I avoid capture?

[Trixy]: After you passed out, Rex and Wendy tried to rouse you from your slumber for approximately 2 hours and 34 minutes. Soon afterward, they were ambushed by Aku’s minions. The one known as Yojimo managed to overpower them both and place them into his custody. He was going to do the same to you, but Cree created a distraction, so that she could sneak you away from Yojimbo.

Why was Cree there in the first place? Maybe she was just in the area?

[Trixy]: She fled into the forest with your unconscious body in tow, and then proceeded to care for you until you awoke. I remained ever vigilant, but she made no attempts on your life. Even I was surprised by her conduct.

[Wade]: Old age must’ve mellowed her out.

[Cree]: How rude.

[Wade]: Gah!

You nearly fly into a tree upon seeing Cree pop up from nowhere.

[Wade]: How’d you get ahead of me?!

[Cree]: I walked.

[Wade]: I’m just gonna chalk it up to “I used magic”. What do you need?

[Cree]: I need nothing. I just thought that you would like to know how to find the castle.

Cree pulls back a thicket of leaves and reveals a hidden path, leading to Yojimbo’s castle! You were following the map exactly. How’d you miss it?

The castle is much more massive than you had anticipated. It’s comprised of stone, iron and reinforced steel. They’ve even got a moat!

[Wade]: Oh...well, thanks. Not sure how I missed that.

Security’s probably tight since they’re expecting you. How do you wanna do this?

>Fill up on metal and knock the door down with Knuckle Duster!
>Infiltrate the castle and scope the place out from the inside.
>Use Gravelanche to bury the castle underground.
>Soak up the water with Storm Drain and kick the shit out of this castle!
>Tunnel underneath the castle and infiltrate it from below.
>Ask Cree if she wants to help.
>Transform into an alien. (Which one?)
>Write-in.

You time out early in a brilliant flash of yellow light and wait patiently for the watch to recharge once more. Shouldn't be too long, but that also means that you might have to deal with some awkward silence between you and…Cree?

You look around to find that the strange old elf has disappeared somewhere. It doesn't particularly bother you, since she wasn't very talkative in the first place.

After about 6 minutes, a sharp whistle breaks through the chirping of what you assume to be crickets, confirming that your watch has recharged. Let's try this again!

You scroll through your selection of aliens, thinking carefully before making a choice. But once you see Ghostfreak's icon, you feel as if you are assaulted by a gross curiosity. You haven't used Ghostfreak ever since that fight you had with the Negative 10. And that got ugly real fast. But maybe things will be different this time.

You clench your fist in resolution and raise it into the air, before slamming it back down onto your belt. A bright flash of violet light engulfs your body, and you feel a cold chill run up your spine. Your limbs grow heavier and heavier, until that cold sensation spreads although out your body, making it so that you can't even feel them anymore. That dull pain wracks your feeble body for a moment, but it is immediately followed by a feeling of...freedom.

You feel amazing! As if you've truly shed this mortal coil and left all of your worries and anxieties behind with it. You feel as if you can do anything! You've become Ghostfreak!

[Z'Skayr]: Focus…and take a deep breath...

Right. Focus on the mission. Don't get carried away like last time. You can do this.

You fly towards the castle walls and phase through them effortlessly. You should also be pretty hard to see in this incorporeal state. He's almost the same as Big Chill, but you know, without the chill.

The castle's interior reminds you of the early medieval fortresses you'd see in your history books. The halls are incredibly dusty and decorated with cobwebs. And if your eyes wasn't so adjusted to the dark, then you'd have a lot of trouble getting around in such a dimly lit area. The most concerning feature, however, is the lack of guards in a castle this massive. You've only seen about 10 of them so far. Where is everybody?

Just then, you notice a rumbling sensation coming from the ground. It's almost like someone's cheering.

You phase through floor after floor, hoping to gain some sort of clue as to where your friends are. The cheering gets louder the closer you get, and once you phase through the last floor in the castle, you finally understand why.

You've uncovered some sort of underground arena! Hundreds of aliens are gathered around, begging for bloodshed and the combatants below fight to the death. Oh God. This is way worse than you thought!

You carefully scan the area with your eye, and you manage to pick up a couple of things based on your surroundings. First, Yojimbo is most likely that fat, yellow guy with horns sitting atop that throne of bones at the highest point of the arena. He looks pretty menacing with that huge, spiked metal club and all of that excessive chrome-ware installed in his mouth to give him a steel jaw. Second, you found Wendy! She looks like she's alright, but she's definitely got some battle scars from being in this hellhole for too long. And lastly, Wendy's about to enter the arena with some giant monster bird! That thing has more armor plating and weaponry than your sister does! Her puny spear and shield don't stand a chance against those razor sharp claws. You need to act fast!

What do you do?

>Possess the bird and pretend to be easily defeated by Wendy.
>Try to possess Yojimbo and use his body to call off the fight.
>Tell Wendy to try her best to distract the crowd, while you free the remaining prisoners and incite a riot.
>Possess a member of the crowd and use him to start a huge fight amongst the onlookers.
>Possess Wendy and give her a bit of a boost in her fight.
>Write-in.

>When we find their holding pin posses a guard and let them out
