After many years of working with new alloys and metals, the dwarves are able to perfect the existing Aetrkor. With increased durability and weight that can be either lighter or heavier depending on the alloy, the metal proves highly useful.>Alloy ResearchDigging deep into the earth, the dwarves seek more of the material used to create Aetrkor. New towns spring up near under the mountain homes specifically for this purpose.>Collect Earthen Resources>>3694604Dwarves of Gjal'zkad attempt to hail the harpies and speak with them.
After sending an expedition to the mountains we will send scouts to see if there are any valuable resources there
>>3694604>>The Paraskinia>Make a common currency (Senori, Symbian, and Grenoll input is desired)>Firebombs (with grenoll assistance if they allow it)After establishing a long series of trade posts, and engaging in trade between 3-5 nations at a time, the Bronzecrest Conclave has been running into a particularly annoying logistical barrier for trade. All three of their major trade partners use different forms of currency. Some don't even use currency at times and prefer to barter instead! While the harpies have managed to get by with barter and local trade just fine, they feel they could enhance their experience by implementing a global currency for all parties to use. The harpies get to work on implementing such things straight away. The major issue this poses, is what to make the initial currency out of. The Harpies invite several prominent members of Grenoll, Senori, and Symbian society to get together to discuss what the nature of this currency shall be.The cover and dampness of the swamp have hindered the harpy support for their Grenoll friends in the Shroomen Swamp. The firepots burn for a long time, harming or even killing those that it lands on, even if they can't get the swampy forest itself to light. But their biggest problem is the amount of surface area they cover. To fix this, the harpies ask the Grenoll alchemists who have been studying their batfire powder, for some tips on how to apply it. Initial attempts to use the original batfire powder as an explosive force to throw more flaming pitch everywhere worked, but those initial batches were particularly volatile. The harpies wonder if they can use the Grenoll's help in making a more stable and more effective firepot bomb. (Note, the explosives themselves don't do much damage, its just to help throw more fire everywhere.)>Diplo with everyone and NPCs will have to wait, my apologies.
>>3703876>>3701957The map the Erabites had brought with them was wildly out of scale, and made no differentiation between water and land; Seeing that this may be the source of confusion, a scholar draws waves on the areas of water, and jagged lines on the land. He tried to get across that it's not that the dwarves weren't -allowed- to go this way, they physically couldn't, all the time eyeing the weaponry.Eventually the crew gives up, and returns to their yacht, leaving the map behind, they call to allow the dwarven vessel to continue onwards, and the ship-blockade disperse. The yacht sails slowly alongside the dwarven ship while it stays in Erabite waters.>Action 1The mega-slings are tweaked and worked on for many moons, drawing in workers from across the two Kingdoms, (>>3706653 you'll have access to our mangonel technology, including this advancement) wood-workers, ironmongers, and engineers from the dam project. In time, improvements are made, the addition of gearing to aid in cranking, and rope of strong Gra'am manufacture to increase the tension. The thing still takes two men to work, many minutes to arm, and there's still only one of them, but in time each gate will be armed with one!> (Mangonel catapult, baby)>Action 2The canals are narrow, too narrow to accommodate the much larger trading ships of our allies. Given the build-up of civilisation along them, they cannot really be widened without considerable effort. To remedy this, we shall build a deep port at the sea-entrance of the eastern canal, and with it a market which may always come under the purview of Mahiri-sezu. > (Build the port-city of Senu-mar as shown)>Diplomacy>>3707165"Birds. Enormous birds." Those were the stories from Turbu-duri. They'd taken potshots at them with their slings, but the creatures were agile & fast, faster than any of the lazy flyers of Harpatu.
>>3706653Again men are sent, and again they falter. Clearly not learning from lessons of the past, this time no survivors return.>>3707855The dwarves pat themselves for their clear diplomatic superiority and verbal success. The fleet presses onwards into the unknown waters, likely reaching the Harpatu port, where they would attempt to dock.Expansion of the controlled waters once more begins. Most waters are now known, but the south seas which they currently work towards exploring.>Sea ExpansionExperimentation for new propulsion technology begins, seeking improved methods for the clearly archaic system of oars, and not desiring fully sailed ships, the lords of the underworld issue rewards to those who produce promising ideas.>Ship Research
>>3707980>Diplo-Paraskinia>>3707165The Grenoll agree to assisting the Harpies on both of their projects. Their representative to the currency conference shows off examples of the current Grenoll currency; small crystals of roughly consistent size and quantity that they discovered beneath their marshes. They are aware, however, that supplies of the gems are already limited and that it would probably be unsuitable as a common currency unless further supplies are found.>Action 1:The Grenoll construct the fortress of Formontis on the raised land amidst the far-western swamps to guard the Grenoll villages of the nearby marshlands.>Action 2:The Grenoll assisting with the Paraskina firepot bomb project are inspired by some of the concepts and ideas, and ask for some of their help in return, using a few initial ideas to create a be-handled glass and steel jar of a good throwing weight, stuffed with refined Batfire powder, and use a small amount of controlled fire to trigger a larger explosion of force and shards, rather then the inverse. As the project was inspired by lending Grenoll aide to a friend, these finished devices acquire the name of 'Gren-aide', and made available to the Paraskinia.
>>3707165The prospect of a common currency is alluring, but what if one nation goes bankrupt? Senroi supports the project, but a backup plan in case of any economic downfalls.
>>3708050>Action 1: With many refinements made to the processes and chemistry of Batfire powder since the weapon was first conceived of, the Grenoll again look to the Mosquito. Finally, the weapon can be made to work to a reliable enough fashion that a trained operator of a military company could use the weapon without regular loss of digits or limbs.>Action 2:With the Mosquito made usable, a number of Grenoll military companies begin training in their use of the device; practicing maintenance, drill, cleaning, co-ordination and all the other necessities for using the mosquito professionally.>Diplomacy: ParaskiniaThe Mosquitoes are made available to the Paraskinia, should the Harpies be able to find use for them in their arsenal.>Diplomacy: Dwarves >>3674277(Sorry, searched back into the last thread and found you did post a diplo thing I didn't see)The Grenoll, again, ask the Dwarves to clarify their request for 'Dwarven control of the waters'. The Grenoll have been quite clear that they respect Dwarven sovereignty in the waters of the Dwarven coastline, and are willing to submit to accompaniment by Dwarven vessels for any Grenoll ship wishing to enter those coastal waters; but it sounds a little as though the Dwarves are asking for much, much more then this recognition. What the Grenoll are proposing here, they again try to explain again, is mutual freedom of the waters and trading rights around their nations, and the mutual use of the port facilities of the other nation. Limiting these freedoms by insisting on accompaniment for Grenoll vessels whilst Dwarven ships get free range would seem to them a quite lopsided treaty. Surely, we could all trade freely, and share the open waters of the world?>Diplomacy: Dwarves(again)>>3700566As the Dwarves push up the river, their ships would find themselves first passing by some new-built riverside villages of the Frog-people, and then as they close toward Great Genesis they would eventually find themselves reaching the Grenoll lines. There is some debate among the Grenoll as these arrivals reach them, but a translator from one of the Irregular companies bids the Dwarves welcome, stating that their arrival is unexpected. Already, Grenoll and Paraskinia forces are pushing back the fungal monsters of these Swamps in coordinated efforts... have the Dwarves come to join with the allied advance on the fortress-city?
Connect Jehns town to the other settlement
>>3712367Despite their efforts, the weapon is still far too impractical to create and use.>>3712367The dwarves must insist the waters are controlled by them completely, as the king will not accept anything less. The diplomat explains it is in the Grenoll's best interest to accept.>>3712367The dwarves would make no attempt to interact with the Grenoll should they not impede the transportation of troops aiding the legion across the river. If the Grenoll were to attempt to interact with the dwarves as they offload soldiers, low ranking officers would briefly explain their non-affiliation with other nations, but are much too busy to speak further. With the assistance of reinforcements arriving to attack the shroomen from both sides, the dwarves are able to secure more land, though still succumbing to the local flora and fauna, the addition of soldiers would help to counter the losses.>ExpansionWith more swampland being controlled and logged, the production of ships increases once more.>Naval Production
>>3714162>Action 1: With the arrival of the Dwarves, the Grenoll begin a combined push with the harpies toward great Genesis, intent on burning out the remnants of the Fungal empire to take it for their alliance. Should the Dwarves assist, their efforts in securing this land for the Grenoll will be welcomed.>Action 2:The Grenoll begin making further use of the Loxetra. The mucus-covering on the creature's hide is already fairly protective, and the speed it offers is fairly significant. Equipped appropriately with lance, sling and blade, these Loxetra cavalry will add a new mobility to the Grenoll forces.>Diplo: The Grenoll begin preparing an expedition for a visit of their own to Erabunakta, assembling fine Loxetra steeds, carved wood and metal instruments, batfire display powder and Bog-jewels as they attempt a gift that can hopefully meet some of their expectations. The Erabs made quite a show, and the Grenoll feel they owe at least an effort of their own.>Diplo: DwarvesThe Dwarven answer lead to further bafflement, and the Grenoll, yet again, ask for clarification on what the Dwarves mean by 'the waters'. Furthermore, they ask the Dwarves 'why?'. Is this policy from the King his own personal decision, a tenet of the Dwarven religion, a decree of prophecy to avoid some catastrophe to the Dwarven race, perhaps? There must be some motivation driving this demand, surely?
>>3706653>Action 1News of these failed expeditions reach the Erabites, though obviously only in part. A unit of men wielding new iron weapons is offered to our brothers.> (200 men, iron weapons, bronze armour)>Action 2First hand we have experienced hardship from possessing a single Scroll of Power, assemble all who know of such things and research the thing, attempting to create more.> (trying to produce another scroll)>DiploThe pleasure barge sails home, bringing back with it the Scroll of a Thousand Tongues.>>3707980There is a mild sense of panic as the enormous vessel sails further into view, no jetty at the water's edge could accommodate such a beast. No matter, the ship sailed on regardless, crushing a low-lying pier as it docked. Crowds gathered around, awaiting what would come next.>>3715868Harpatu is a city of yellow sandstone, flat roofs, and soaring towers, but over all else can be seen the temple complex with it's two altar rooms near-enough in the clouds. It is a loud city of commerce and industry, every corner holds a stall hawking wares, and every road is filled with conversation & song.Happy are those who view the Grenoll boats! An official is quickly called for, and donning his showy ceremonial gowns he rushes to port. As the boats dock an impromptu rendition of Ulu Natum is sung by those who know it, banging their chests and impersonating instrument sounds. A hall is quickly commandeered for the visitors, set up with impressive speed, if a little jankily. In time, men bring out dishes prepared by the women at home, steamed fish, fruit of all sizes, boiled grains flavoured with orange-coloured spices, and the most cherished delicacy of Harpatu, heapings of tiny shellfish from the Aburris reservoir.Unprepared for such a wonderful surprise, very little can be offered as entertainment. Trumpeters, singers, and acrobats are found, but nothing compared to the splendours offered in Maruis.
>>3723673Diplomacy: >>3723673The Grenoll finally arrive in Harpatu, and are overjoyed by the display of celebration and pageantry put on, joining in with their own voices and piped-sound instruments in all the celebration and ceremony. A small herd of Loxetra steeds is led out from the holds of their Cattetrois to be presented as a gift to the nobles and rulers of the Erab nation from the Grenoll peoples, as the Grenoll allow themselves to be led to the hall set up by their hosts.>Action 1: A few mechanically-minded Grenoll go back to the drawing board. A superior weapon then the sling is still seen as a necessity, so they look to other options... when one of them considers the torsion-catapults already present internally mounted on the Cattetrois. Perhaps, it is suggested, they could make a similar weapon on a smaller scale? The Dwarves already have something similar, if the wreck of the Bog-dancer is any indicator. Using reports of these weapons, sightings through long-seeing tubes of Dwarves in action off the coastline and wreckage washed ashore as their guidelines, the Grenoll engineering companies work to make their own variation on the crossbow-weapon employed by the short seafarers, to which the Grenoll give the name 'Midge'.>Action 2:These experiences in comparative weapon design lead the Engineers to a few further thoughts, ideas and designs about their current arsenal. Grenoll Magonell and Trebuchet designs are enhanced and improved for longer range and greater power.
>>3707165>>The Paraskinia>Fund Senori mining operations in the eastern Isles of Myst>Bring more Grenoll troops and settlers to Prempas (incase this has to be an action each time instead of just a passive transportation)>>Give them Senori resperators, and Conclave's (the dead faction) medicinal herbs for extra assistanceAt the behest of the Bronzecrest Conclave, the Myststalkers relent in allowing Land-Striders more access to their Seas of Myst. Largely for economic reasons. They are already aware of the Malachite and Cinnabar that resides in some of their eastern mountains, but to allow the Senori to engage in mining operations would greatly increase the output and potentially reveal more resources beneath the mountains. Myststalker and Bronzecrest representatives bring Senori people from C'met to the mountains to begin operation.Again, the Bronzecrest assist in shipping another migrant wave from Grenoll to the Shroomish Swamp. This time, along with newer technology, including new Grenoll weapons and Senori masks to help filter the worse parts of the swamp air and mow through the swampmen. The Harpies also provide various medicine from the medical capital of the world,Senori, as well as various anti-swamp herbs from the Isle of the Waterways to the south, which had been grown from the Conclave's past experience with the Shroomish swamps.>Diplo>DracolichWhile that vast majority of harpies are still extremely skeptical or outright distrusting of the Great Winged One, a small subset of harpies have begun pledging themselves to the beast. The offering of a shiny trinket, and one that can use magic, was exceptionally tempting to a few of the weaker willed harpies. They form a band of a little over a dozen, who take it upon themselves to tend to the dragon.>SenoriThe Harpies, noticing their friends have begun fighting, offer their assistance. While still far too afraid of the skeletons to desire actual engagement, they do offer to act as aerial scouts and messengers. Thus granting Senori a massive intel advantage and increased communication speed between armed forces. While they don't think it will be too useful against skeletons, they do also offer a small amount of harpy Firepots and firebombs, and grenoll Gren-aides.>Grenoll + ErabumaktaUpon hearing the Grenoll were off to visit a new city for the first time, the Bronzecrest harpies immediately sought out the captain of a few of the ships to see if they could book passage. Wanting to have a more official first-contact with these people. Especially after songs being passed on the grapevine of men to the south of the stepping stones, shooting arrows and stones at their fellow harpies. The harpies ride with the Grenoll to the Erab Captial, and join in song when the music starts. The visiting harpies provide a small gift to their hosts, mainly of various hand made trinkets from the Seas of Myst including: Malachite, Cinnabar, and crystallized-sap jewelry.
>>3724709Senori have always wanted to mine the mountains for more minerals and stone, but they were thunder angels territory. Luckily, they proposed to fund Senori to mine the mountains. The Senori agree to this deal and started operations. It will also help in the war effort.Actions:>1. Start creating mines on the eastern mountains ranges>2. Use harpie scouts to beat out and fend off the skeletons from our home territory
>>3703876Action 1:A prophet has appeared, and he has spoken.Legions shall be assembled inspired by the military of the Grenoll.Action 2:The modernization of our army is taken place. We are now equiped with weapons and tactics on par to an extent with the grenoll, this is done mainly through the hiring of retired grenoll and other foriegn military officers. Mostly those among them who are retired.
>>3715868Despite all the dangers of the swamps, the combined attacks of three nations was too much, and so the Shroomen are no more. Possibly existing as minuscule remnants hidden deep in the swamps, but so small that they would be all but forgotten in time and of little concern to anyone. The conflict had wrought many deaths on every side, taking quite the toll, continuing onward as the diseases and poisons curse the inhabitants.>>3715868The dwarves try to explain what the sea is as simply as possible to the Grenoll, followed by the explanation of the deal, being ordered solely by the king, no more can be said, but it would be quite obvious the advantages to controlling the seas.>>3723673Crude replicas of the scroll, but they would only remain as such, and be utterly useless but for decoration. Perhaps other peoples posses similar items and be willing to part with them.>>3723673As the single ship attempts what could hardly be called docking, the remainder of the fleet watches on and sets anchor nearby.Clearly being unable to reach a port, the ship instead oars backwards, pausing for a moment only to begin rowing again, forwards straight into the shore. Not at high speeds, but enough to lodge the ship well enough as to stay put. Potential damage would be limited due to the copper hull. Once run aground, hatches open, and rope ladders fall, with descending dwarves. All armed with axe and spear, they would wait for contact with hopefully some sort of diplomat or simply seek out the nearest thing to communicate with.>>3724709Pleased with the obedience, the beast would communicate through painting that more treasures would be ensured should their service continue and others follow suit.-<Risen Fall>-The budding resurgence of a once great empire had befallen great misfortune. With poor leadership and attacks by flying beasts prompted by hallow war, the nation is torn asunder. The great wyvern having burst from its confines spreads its wings to take flight.Being greatly damaged, it cannot truly fly, but it takes to the air well enough to make swift attacks upon the harpies, retreating south once a substantial amount of bloodshed occurs. The peoples of this nation have fallen into disarray and are at the whim of the invaders. As for the risen dead, they would continue marching and fight the harpies with all their might.
Dwarves begin rapid growth in the underworld, partially due to Aetrkor collection. The dwarves grow primarily under the hills of West Latgjal'kalnz, and Torzdezuk'gaz, creating large numbers of villages and towns below, where they also often find useful minerals.>GrowthConstruction begins in Gjal'zkad, where the dwarves seek to create a secondary dockyard, similar to the Jotkag'drag so that they do not need to rely solely on the capital, and reducing overall logistical strain.>Gjal'zkad dockyards
After finally receiving the design of the catapult the Elthurians develop a new military template. In order to try it we need an effective training ground. For that reason we developed the Point Grath training grounds. >>3723673Considering that the Erabites are also making impressive progress in military technology they too may use the grounds of Point Grath
A mad dwarf stricken with claims of disaster spreads his word across the underworld.Professing to have received the holy voice of Therkuunaz from an ancient stone carving.Prophesying the mark of the end upon the emergence of the dreaded Klothaa'eitag; goat of no remorse, eternally fueled by a lust for vengeance. Its name translating loosely to The Blood Goat of the End Times. Stories of this being are told to scare small dwarven children, coming out at when dwarves do not receive enough rest to consume their weakened bodies. While these children's tales are made up, many dwarves do believe the being to have existed based off stories told by their ancestors, passed down the generations, and wall carvings detailing its existence. The dwarven people are conflicted.
>>3725403>Action 1: With Grenoll troops already in the deserts, supported by Cielgarde, the passage though the Mountains, and a constant supply of water-deliveries, they start securing land as the Crimson Empire crumbles; their efforts invested in building a client Wyvern-blood vassal-state in their zone of eastern occupation. >Action 2:The Grenoll joined the war against the Crimson Empire because their friends were attacked, but they committed when the learned of a Crimson treasure. The tablet of the rains was the prize they hoped to win themselves, and the Grenoll press into the ruins to search for this prize, or other Crimson treasures that might fall into their hands.>Diplomacy:Symbians:>>3725335The Grenoll assist the Symbians in their development, pleased to help fellow children of the Mother Below.Senori:>>3724884A Grenoll diplomat who arrived via harness tries to introduce himself. Should his own tongue fail, as expected, he is also trained and prepared to converse in the Paraskinia languages.Dwarves:>>3725403The Grenoll give a chuckle of laughter. Yes, they explain, they know what the Sea is. Wide and open, plyed by many peoples, a free domain for any who wish to take to it. They agree that the advantages to using it are obvious; many Grenoll cities are linked together by trade and supply that crosses the water, as is Grenoll trade to the lands of Erabumakta and Elthuria, and their trade in turn back to the Grenmarshe. Mutual trade that enriches all participants. That was the network of trade the Grenoll had hoped to involve the Dwarves in, too.And so, they ask again. What areas of the Sea are the Dwarves actually seeking the Grenoll to acknowledge? The Grenoll have no sea-ports further north then Thilith, and so have no troubles admitting to Dwarven primacy on the open waters of the northern gulf. If those are the open waters the Dwarves spoke of. The Dwarven tongue seems very convoluted.
>>3724709>>The Paraskinia>Claim the Palace Ruins and the surrounding hexes, but letting the Grenoll expand as they please>Establish the Wyvern-blooded as vassals to the harpies, but treat them relatively wellAnother late day, and all of tomorrow is going to be busy, so quick post today. I've spent like 5 actions on these guys already, so I'm just going to go ahead and take them at this point. Both Harpy and Grenoll forces have been at the palace for a while now. The remaining undead, the ones not killed by the wyvern-blooded already, are quickly mopped up by the literal army above them, peppering them with spear and firepot completely free from recourse. The remaining palace guards and militia are told to stand down, and offered some basic water and rations. With the wyvern-blooded already rudimentary familiar with the harpy tongue, representatives are found and appointed to voice the concerns of the wyvern people, as the harpies begin moving into the roofs of the city and the palace itself. The majority of the Bloodscale Conclave, already being in the desert to attack the wvyerns, now sets its main base of operations here, and begins ruling over the wyvern-blooded. Bronzecrest Conclave representatives come by to offer supplementary and humanitarian aid, to help get the remaining wyverns back under their feet. Which takes especially well after the poor conditions and rulings of the original owners. >Diplo >>3726450While the harpies get to work on establishing proper avenues of communication, control, and trade with the wyvern-blooded, the Grenoll are allowed to storm the palace and retrieve whatever magical artifacts they desire.Though, one harpy, wielding a magic tablet, approaches the leader of the Grenoll. His concerns are two part. A) Their mutual friends the Senori are also desiring of the scroll of rains, as it greatly relates to their culture and religion; while the wyvern's palace are rather parched without at least some supplemental rain coming in. The harpy wonders if it would be possible to let the scroll of water work on rotation, carried and shared between the Palace, the Senori, and the Grenoll.B) The harpy tells the Grenoll captain about the Great-Winged-One on the top of Tisiphone, its desire to harm the Grenoll, and its bewitching magical trinkets used to sway a small subset of their brethren. The Harpy informs the grenoll about all they know of the beast, and urge due caution for anything it might try.
>>3727366>Action 1:The Dwarven diplomats are now starting to worry the Grenoll a little. Their must be some linguistic error arising in translation, surely? When they first herd of the plan, they'd assumed the Dwarves must have been talking of a sea, singular; most likely the northern sea, the Gulf of Beards. But now.. the Dwarves can't really plan on trying to take the whole of the open Ocean, surely? The Murky Sea of the southeastern coastline, the Cold Sea south of Glisedeu, Ertsable and Elthuria; even the Newt-Tail Gulf? Worried by the possibility, the Council makes the decision to build coastal defenses along the northern shore between Thegarde and Thilith; sea walls and watch-stations, long-sight tube-towers and stations for Magonells and Trebuchets. Hopefully, they will never have to be used; but better to be prepared...>Action 2:Despite their grandiose request (that the Grenoll are still not sure if they are truly serious about), so far, the Dwarves have been behaving themselves; but memories of the Bog-dancer are long... and the Grenoll start to worry they couldn't protect all their merchant tonnage if the Dwarves decided on a repeat. To that end, they begin work on expanding their own naval capacity, laying down more fast vessels that they hope might outpace, outrun and outmaneuver the lumbering Dwarven behemoths of the waves. With garrisoned, walled ports all down the coastline, after all, the Grenoll have far less need of weighty supplies.>DiplomacyDwarves: Further to their last point, the Grenoll ask an additional. Perhaps, they wonder, they could send an emissary to speak to the Dwarven king himself? Surely his words would come much clearer if they could be directly heard.Paraskinia:>>3727366The Grenoll are not exactly over-enthusiastic about the idea, but they do agree that it would be fairest if the treasure could be shared in some fashion. Perhaps, they venture, the roosting over Soulamere should become the new official home for the bringer of rains? And then the Paraskinia and Grenoll could carry it off together as needed, to water the deserts or to delight the Senori? The latter news is more troubling. The Grenoll have seen this beast at times from afar, but to their knowledge have never interacted. Why, they wonder, does it wish them harm? They ask the Paraskinia if they have any plans of their own in place that could be supported, should it choose to try anything.
>>3726450A water creature came from afar introducing himself as Gerebol(?). Apparently, they're allied with the thunder angels and want to start diplomatics. Senori speak in the thunder angel language for ease of translation. Actions>1.With the skeletions repelled from the homeland, Senori go on the offense. They attack Deus and try to calm as Senori land>2. With new minerals and metals being processed, Senori use them to improve their weapons.
>>3726450It is explained their desire to hold all waters beyond the coasts of the known lands and any waters still not known.>>3728745 For many reasons, the king cannot be met in person, most important of which being that foreigners are barred from entering the mountainhomes.>>3726450Gold riches can be found in temples within the capital, but the harpies may intervene.>>3727366>>3727366The wyvernblood will eventually be able to reform their nation, but without the scroll of waters, their people could face severe famine, thus risking an uprising.
>Diplo: Paraskinia/Wyvern Blood>>3727366Gold... was not what the Grenoll were after. They had come in search of relics, and mystical knowledge, not just tawdry, gilded treasures. Though they examine the treasures, testing them for some sign of greater purpose; if they are indeed entirely mundane then the Grenoll will leave them in the hands of their owners.Senori:>>3728867The Grenoll tell the Senori of their lands, their cities, their neighbors and their beliefs.>Action 1: The treasures of the Wyvern-blood seem to have vanished with their Empress, and the 'Mother Stone' down below has not spoken to the waiting Grenoll for quite an age. The Grenoll decide to conduct another search of some of the more ancient ruin-sites in their lands. Perhaps, this time, they might find an alcove or store of mystic knowledge that had so far eluded? Or manage to figure out one of the Sealed doors beneath the mountain, near to the healing-talisman trove-site? They know there is some magic out there, if they just manage to look in the right place.>Action 2:A road between Navrigole, Formontis and Maruis would help link and co-ordinate the cities of the west. And connecting Lurthrais and Mulligith to the cross-plains roads between Navrigole and Lurgarde would also prove useful.
>Action 1:New shipyards are opened at Navrigole, as the Marius shipyards are starting to struggle beneath the weight of commercial vessel production needed for supporting growing westerly trade.>Action 2: The Grenoll expand their naval strength, building more Cattetrois of the advanced model from the Navrigole and Grenuis shipyards.>Diplo: DwarvesIf he won't let us come and visit due to a ban on Foreigners in the mountain homes, perhaps he could come to us? We could throw the Dwarf king a formal reception, allow him to address the Grenoll council... that is, if he'd want to come. The offer is extended.
>Action 1:Merchants in the city of Lursuis find that, where forms are concerned, they need plenty of the same thing. And writing out the same thing multiple times gets very repetitive. To save time, they start to use stamps to reproduce copies of the same document over and over, or the same word, finding that more complex devices can give a more even finish when pressed to the papyrus sheet.> Action 2:A Grenoll working in Lursuis accidentally drops a word-stamp, cracking it in pieces. Panicked, he tries to place it back together, but when he tries to press it he finds that it is all jumbled up, and the original meaning is lost. But, strangely, a new one is found... sort of, if the terrible spelling is ignored, the symbols seem to suggest a different word entirely. This Grenoll moves to Lekrogge, to get easy access to the metalworks. And here, in this industrial city, he comes up with a new invention; moveable type. With this, Grenoll letters (a selection of leafy, worm-like, and leg-like characters) can be switched around. The Grenoll now have movable type, and the printing press.

While trade of all sorts happens here, this allows the wyverns to be opened up more to the rest of those participating in the harpy trade. Some of the most common things for harpies to trade for are shedded scales and bags of high-quality sand. With his son is also sent the gift of a golden plate hammered with the musical notation of Ulu Natum, to be given to the King of all Grenoll (or whoever may take his place), along with a team of scholars of all sorts. A gift so precious, it is housed within the holy of holies of the grand temple of Ariru, King of the Sun, Lord of the Skies. Gifts of all kinds are offered freely, and with the Scroll of a Thousand Tongues now safely home, words of praise and friendship also. The scholars sent with the prince begin to ask all questions under Kuppi of the bird people; Who are they? Where are they from? -What- are they? Where did they gain so much amber? Can they fly? What is their mode of government? What secrets do they hold? What Gods do they worship? >>The Paraskinia>>3737051 >DiploUpon hearing the rather well pronounced Harpy, the Harpies immediately assume that their language had somehow transmitted all the way to these unmet people of the south. They immediately begin conversing with the scholars, completely missing the fact that they need to parse what they are saying with the one holding the Scroll of Thousand Tongues. After initial hurdles, they express their history in song and dance. Also using paintings and calligraphy to better explain, since the translator can only parse so much at once with everyone talking together. The Harpies are the Harpies, who indeed can fly. They in particular come from Soulamere to the east; and are a part of the Bronzecrest Conclave, one of the major factions that lead the Paraskinian people. Though various individuals might mention offhandily about various other regions they've grown up in or moved from, as it seems most harpies don't tend to stay in place like most land-striders do. Most are unaware where exactly the amber came from, most of it having traded hands from various individual harpies or from the Myststalker conclave as some trade arrangement or another. When asked about secrets, many harpies just start singing various songs they have heard from the grape vine, including love confessions from one harpy to another or a warning about not eating a specific type of mushroom in the shroomland swamps. Many harpies continue to talk the ears off of the scholars on all sorts of mundane trivia or small talk about the weather and some such.>>3744750While most of the harpies are free to babble and squawk as they please, when it comes down to brass tacks a particularly shrewd looking grandma harpy comes forth with a few others.
