Welcome to Everwood Civ! In this game you shall take control of a fledgling nation as you attempt to navigate the dangerous world of Everwood! In this world dominated by dark woods filled with wonder and terror will you be able to guide your civilization into prosperity or ruin?

In the last thread the East was stabilized, the West descended into chaos and the Goddess Galoris herself graced your people! She has given you twenty seven years to prepare for the purging of the Everwood!

A series of communication towers are set up across the mainland allowing for quick communication. An enchanter even finds a way to use manite to create artificial sunlight so they can be used at night. The Lord of the Everwood family has appealed to the Emperor and has had his taxes lowered to a mere ten percent.

It also seems that trade ships have also begun to arrive from a place claiming to be the Erulian Empire, people have taken to calling them Neo-Erulias for the real Erulia is long gone.

Headmaster Argos is coldly turned down by the Emperor when he requests more funding, the Royal Magic Academy and Royal Rune Smith Academy already draw in a considerable amount of funding from the Imperial coffers, he suggests finding private supporters if he needs more funds.

Emperor Alexos follows through with the advice of his Overlord and nationalizes the production of Dragondust, the Lord of Jagaurs is not happy but the Emperor lowers his tax rate to a mere 20 percent placating him.

With that I has been voted! It seems you wish to deal with the Eagle Princdeom. At the moment several pirate factions control the main territories with only the Grand City of Bangali standing as the "official" government in exile.

What will you do and send?

The Legions face a huge challenge in pacifying these wayward warlords, the main being that your people are hated by the locals here. The populace seeks to harass and disadvantage them to every point. It seems the two rival warlords in the main province were both members of the old Prince's spy ring and make a large use of hypnotism to turn men into assassins and moles. They also have access to a myriad of poisons that can kill men with even the smallest exposure.

Many say that the Wine-Dark Empire has reached the peak of the shp design with the new war Galley and Trade Galley produced by the Empire’s most accomplished ship builders. These massive ships can be armed with cannons, ballistas, catapults or dragon-fire throwers. Ships can be built to almost any specifications in number of oars, carrying capacity or even type of sails with the Lateen style being the most popular.

In smithing people have finally begun to produce the armor of Belinlos to a near match, this so called plate armor is expensive to produce making it so only scions of noble families can afford it. The artistry of your people has come out with many of these expensive suits being gilded with precious metals. Many noble families have begun to adopt fanciful heraldry and on Merli inspired by the beastmen Brutus they have even begun to practice something called “jousting”.

Okay let's just simplify it

Increase Island legion size to 10,000 men and Continental Legion size to 20,000 men.

Let's also do general equipment modernization, try to make an effort to produce more equipment. For the common soldier maybe let's use our industrial might to produce half-plate.

for equipment we should do the following:

The average legionnaire will be equipped with an iron spangenhelm, lamellar armour (down to the waist and down to the forearms), kite shield, Iron Spathion

For cavalry legionnaires, they should forgo shields and the spathion for curved swords or spear-like weaponry.

Give half plate to the Officers I guess

The size of the legions are greatly increased with raw recruits swelling their ranks to four times their original size. This massive expenditure is only possible due to the massive taxes levied upon the ultra rich. The armor of the average legionnaire is also undergoing a change with greater protection being given to the soldiers with more modern lamellar gear. It will take at least five years to build enough armor for your entire army but it will happen, the old suits of armor are being given to city militia and guards.

None of our enemies will find something easy in our lands to take, and if they wish to take one of our settlements such great fortresses will stop them. Besides it will impress and humble the other realms of the known world, and give to each of our lords a formidable defense.

Alongside this further fortify all our borders (be it natural borders or the ones we share with the disgusting Everwood, Tarrex Brothel or the allied Under realm), coasts and minor settlements, we can't allow a single weak point.

Lords and nobles are asked to help in this great endeavour.

it s a great endeavour, so we shouldn t do it.

or
We expand higher and thicker, the everwood wall. Then we place a series of towers and bastions in it. Then all the gatehouses will be reinforced and with 6 gates, that will have blades and traps moved by machines between them. Outside the walls, under the ground, steel stakes moved underground by machines, for take out near siege towers and beastmens of the everwood.

And far more war machines to put inside walls and on top, towers and bastions.

We must spare no expense in defending our lands from the inevitable tide of beastmen. Therefore, we ought to prepare the following.

1. A secondary wall behind crel's wall at the river for a second layer of fortifications to retreat to
2. A bridge at the southern part of the river so in the event our men are cut off, they can still cross.
3. Fortify the harbors of mainland coastal settlements

- Stone Roads and Bridges

Build new roads and stone bridges in all the empire, land travel and communication needs improvement, they shall reach even parts previously untouched. The construction of new roads and bridges, will help not just the trade and communication, but even the marching of our legions. Such thing is something we should see to do immediately. On all the roads, we will build some military outposts and post office.

I would also like to suggest the placement of range markers upon the ground. as the the walls themselves have narrow gutters carvery upon it to our oil down to make the walls less climbable. The final touch been having a number of catapults pre aimed at ranges for rapid deployment

Construction of a second massive Everwood Wall is started with it being likely to be completed in thirteen years. This second wall shall add another layer of defense to fall back to. The bridge however will be completed in a mere five years and allow faster movement across the river.

Massive renovations are done to Crel’s Wall making it’s already impressive fortifications even beefier. Traps, reinforced gates and even more siege weapons are added to the wall making it truly the most impressive fortification ever seen since the days of Erulia.

Currently you use the three crop rotation system with a wide variety of crops. Orchards are common among your lands with sugar cane being grown in the southern islands.

Try a new way to cultivate, we will build orchards on top of our settlements. While it might sound strange and absurd, far more light could help the plants.

Espand our fishinf fleets, the bounties of the sea are far more than the ones of the earth.
////////////

Try to buy new plants from other realms of men, and create new fields for them.

////

Improve our fertilizers. We will create dedicate facilities where we will break and melt togheter, various escrements and remains of food. We will try to use some magics too for, further improve it.

- War Machines

Four new war machines, needs to be made, start being produced and given to the legions siege detachments. Their arsenal of war machines will double, making them and the legions even deadlier.

For this Regent Neitan Neas and uncle of the small Lightkeeper Narotos Neas, will invest in the creation of such war machines and in the creation of some facilities for their production.

If this fails, maybe this prototypes can be used by others for further know the errors to avoid and what it can be done for actually realize this war machines.

Hopefully this will not happen, and the legions siege detachments will enlarge their arsenal, with powerful new war machines.

The piles found under Samir some years ago, will be used for invest in thie creation of this war machines, and then if they are efficient enough, we will start building few facilities in Neas Hope for their production.

:

1 - A ballista that launches nets, nets made with steel chains and hard cords, with many small heavy spherical steel weights . It will be of great use against great beasts, horrors and demons, or flying creatures. (name : net launchers)

2 - A strange war machine, inspired by the so called "rockets" from the east. It will launch multiple of them, creating chaos and confusion in the enemy formations. (name : rocket batteries ?)

3 - A great cannon, primitive like the "small" ones we have, it's far bigger, heavy and slow. But is size will give us an incredible firepower. (name : great cannons)

4 - A greater catapult with a longer arm, it will throw greater rocks than a normal catapults, but much like the great cannons it will be bigger, heavy and slow as well. (name : great catapult)

Mmm Chrissy been tellin me us newfellas get three projects.

FP1: Gonna experiment a bit with this fabled "Spaghetti" recipe that's been floating around. We'll buy any ingredients we can't grow ourselves and omit any that cannot be acquired at all. There are some tweaks I wanna make myself though. Maybe instead of long thin strips of pasta we make little round circles, sandwich some cooked meat in between them, then press the sides down to seal the meat inside before cooking the pasta. Yeah, gonna calls it a "Ravioli".

FP2: Some of the farm hands have been drinking milk from the cows and they think if we put some time into breedin' em right, they could start making even more milk. We gonna do just that, selective breeding to try and create a cattle breed more suited for dairy production.

FP3: Gonna seek out and buy some Onion seeds and plant them to begin growing and harvesting onions for culinary purposes.
