The Lighthouse War is over, but conflict still continues.

With Erusea's defeat at the hands of the Osean Federation and the International United Nations, the imperial nation has splintered into a confusing mess of separatists, freedom fighters, warlords, rogue military factions, and those seeking to profit from the chaos. Worse, Erusea's many automated drone factories still remain intact, waiting for new masters to come to claim them.

The Usean continent remains in crisis, and it's up to a new generation of pilots to face this next generation threat...

You are MILLY, the "Red Tail", a Belkan Air Force pilot fighting for the IUN!

Thankfully, it looked like the Andersen had been able to run the blockade, though she had taken some minor damage that lowered her maximum speed, delaying her arrival to Comona by a bit. However, you were glad that she was able to make it, since that carrier was supposed to be your primary ride.

Still, the crew was a mixture of relieved and a bit bummed that that was nothing for them to do upon arriving at Comona other than resupply, thanks in no small part to your efforts in halting the aerial raids from that mystery supersub. Well, at least Vicky and Misono were.

Meanwhile, you didn't have much to do since your planes were down for maintenance. They did have to operate for a bit of an extended period without Mead's loving attention, after all.

What to do...

Hm, well, you figure it was a good idea to go check out what the other pilots were up to. With the supersub already dealt with, there wasn't actually much for the Andersen to do in the area other than resupply.

And there was nothing worse than a ship full of frustrated pilots with nothing to do, which is likely why the Captain gave pretty much the entire grew weekend leave while the Andersen got fixed up. Aaaaand of course, the first place all the pilots went to was the closest bar.

Upon arriving, you immediately notice the presence of both Sofia and the Orpheus pilots. Sofia seemed to be... drinking with Lara? You don't remember ever seeing the two of them together, but Sofia seemed to be enjoying herself while Lara looked absolutely uncomfortable about something.

Meanwhile, it looked like Angela and Alanna were hitting it up with one of the local Comona pilots. A much older guy, definitely not a fighter jock. Maybe part of one of the Seagull P-3 crews? Perhaps they were trying to get a better picture of what happened during the sub hunt.

You didn't see Vicky or Misono present, though.

And that's when Auntie Sam appears, though wearing casual clothes rather than the business wear you're so used to seeing her in. That's probably how nobody has seemed to recognize her so far. She takes a seat next to you and waves to get the bartender's attention.

The bartender turns and pauses when he sees, giving her a skeptical look. Sam just silently rolls her eyes, digs her wallet out of her pocket, and shows him her ID. The bartender squints at the picture for a few uncomfortably long seconds before nodding.

"Some bourbon. Bottle and two glasses." Auntie Sam says simply.

As the bartender turns around to handle her order, Sam then turns to you with a sly grin.

"Heh, even when you're not working for me you can help turn a huge profit!" Auntie Sam snickers. "These Comona guys are practically showering us with money after getting rid of that thorn in their sides!"

"Sounds great!" You grin as the bartender sets down the bottle of bourbon with the two glasses. "Things are looking up for WCS, aren't they?"

"You're implying we weren't doing well? Auntie Sam chuckles. "This may sound a bit cold, but Erusia is a goldmine right now! A lot of countries with cash but no armies to defend them. The perfect storm for a PMC!"

"If I didn't know you any better, I could've sworn you had a hand behind the war." You chuckle as you finish off your beer.

"Oh, you give me too much credit!" Auntie Sam laughs. "Though, coming from a Belkan, I suppose those should be words of high praise!"

"Ha. Ha." You roll your eyes as Auntie Sam answers your jabs with one of her own. "Anyways, you just happening to show up here couldn't be an accident, right?"

"Oh, of course not." Sam grins as she pours out bourbon into the two glasses. "I was just dropping by to ask again whether you were interested in joining up with WCS? You don't have to make a decision now or anything, I'm just genuinely curious."

You both down your glasses at the same time. You feel the fiery liquid flow down your throat, but you were used enough to hard liquor that the first glass didn't affect you too much.

However, Auntie Sam notices this, too.

"Oho, still got that iron liver, huh?" She chuckles. "We still got a whole bottle to go through. How about it?"

Ah shit, well, you couldn't very well just leave Auntie Sam just hanging here. You should at the very least try to see her off safely. Maybe you should just call someone to retrieve her.

Hm, well, Lara was here right now, but she was still in that conversation with Sofia. Then again, with that uncomfortable expression on her face, maybe she could use the excuse to leave. Or, OR, you could call Bandit and see how he reacts to the whole situation. And, well, you suppose the safe option would be Wolf, but where's the fun in being safe?

You decide to call up Wolf. He should know how to handle this.

"Let me guess, the Boss went and got herself in an alcohol coma again, right?" Wolf laughs over the line.

"Pretty much, yeah." You sigh. "You think you can come pick her up?"

"Yeah, no problem!" Wolf says happily. "Hey, and uh, have you seen Lara anywhere? I haven't been able to find her all day!"

You head up to the Andersen's flight deck, where Misono had informed you where she was. Seemed like a weird place to practice sword fighting, but Misono honestly was a bit of a weird girl herself, so you didn't really think too much of it.

Stepping onto the flight deck, though, you now realize just how empty and quiet it is. With the carrier docked and not on alert, there were no flight operations going on. Other than a few planes still sitting on the deck, the entire flight deck was devoid of life. Only a whistling of the ocean wind creating any sort of noise.

And the you see Misono, calmly sitting on her knees in the middle of the flight deck, her eyes closed as if in some deep mediation. Laid out in front of her was that familiar sword she always carried around with her.

She didn't seem to be doing anything, and resembled more of a statue than a living person. The only thing proving that she wasn't made out of stone was her long black hair flowing and fluttering in the salty ocean breeze. You wonder if it was safe to even approach her...

In the space of an eyeblink, Misono pulls her sword out of its sheath and spins around, sword glinting in the sun. "Nah, I'm cool." You say, completely unphased.

"Impressive. I would have expected you to be rather indignant, or startled." Misono nods and sheathes her sword. "Though I suppose I would be highly underestimating you, then!"

"So uh, what did you mean by 'practice', then?" You ask cautiously.

"It's important to hone all your senses, to be able to detect threats coming from any direction." Misono explains matter of factly. "It is one of the basic tenets of our fighting style!"

"So uh, this may sound like a dumb question." You frown. "But how exactly does sword fighting relate to piloting?"

"Well, it's not as if I'm literally trying to hit the enemy lanes with my sword!" Misono laughs heartily. "But still, there are many benefits of learning the way of the blade that can carry over to piloting. Or to any life skill, honestly."

"Really? Like how?" You raise an eyebrow.

"First, the blade teaches discipline." Misono says as she rests a hand on the handle of her sheathed sword. "To know when to fight and when to stay your hand!"

"Second, the blade teaches you aggression!" Misono continues as she suddenly draws her sword again in a slashing motion, thankfully away from you this time, but it clearly would have chopped anyone in front of clean in half, you were sure. "When you do decide to attack, you do so will full force and conviction!"

"And finally, serenity." Misono calmly sheathes her sword and returns to her kneeling position, eyes closed. "To know when to put away the blade as well as your fears and grudges."

Well, there was one thing you couldn't deny. Misono was certainly passionate about this. Very much so.

"N-no, it's nothing like that!" Misono wipes a tear from her eye. "It's just, I've never seen you so... wistful? Is that the right word for it?"

"I'm not wistful at all." You huff. "Just got a dream or two!"

"Hm, it does make some sense." Misono nods with a smile. "Though perhaps it's something you don't really have to worry about until you're older."

"Yeah yeah, laugh it up." You grumble. "But I'm serious, I don't really picture myself being some kinda trophy wife for a Knight or something like that. Hell, that's even assuming some noble would be desperate enough to marry a lowly commoner like me!"

"Hm, that is true. I forget how traditional your people can be." Misono nods in agreement.

Urgh, you feel like it's time to go on the offensive against Misono! But how would you accomplish that...?

"Oh yeah? Then do you have eyes on anybody for marriage, then?" You fire back.

"Why yes I do, actually." Misono smiles brightly. "However, that's a private family matter, so that's all I'll say about it!"

Damn, seemed like Misono was totally ready to bat that question aside. You weren't going to get anything more on her from that front, unfortunately.

"Anyways, I will continue to take advantage of this opportunity and continue my practice." Misono says as she turns back around. "It's not every day you can have the entire carrier flight deck to yourself! All this extra space is such a refreshing change of pace!"

You decide to head down to the hangar deck where Mead was of course working away at the planes, even with most of the maintenance crew also on leave. Guess a mechanic's job was never done.

Right now, though, it looked as if she was busy tuning up Orpheus Squadron's Typhoons. You head over to her as she worked, digging through the guts of the Ustian fighters.

"Huh, didn't expect to see you to be here, Milly." Mead glances at you before returning her focus on her work. "You're not using your leave to take the day off?"

"Well, I sorta already did." You shrug, leaning against one of the Typhoon's landing gear. "Figured I'd come check on you. Guess I was right on the money you'd still be working your ass off down here."

"Yeah, well, I practically grew up around planes. Feel more comfortable with them than people, sometimes." Mead laughs lightly.

"Yeah, I get that feeling sometimes, too." You nod in agreement.

"It also helps when I want to get my mind off things." Mead sighs. "Someone up there must have some sort of sick sense of humor to send me back to where it all started...."

"Where what started?" You blink.

"Ah, right, you don't really have any reason to know, do you?" Mead gives you a hard look. "You see, back in the Lighthouse War, I used to be a convict."

"A convict?!" You blink in surprise. You knew Mead was a tough one, but an honest to god criminal?

"Well, to be honest, it was due to some bullshit charges, but jail is jail. And I ended up as part of one of Osea's penal squadrons. Then one thing led to another... and here I am." Mead shrugs.

Mead was part of a penal squadron...?

"Aw, that doesn't sound that exciting." You frown.

"Trust me kid, it's not a good place to spend your day, much less a decade or two." Mead sighs loudly.

"Heeeey, wait a minute." You frown, pausing for a second. "You didn't happen to be part of the 444th Squadron, did you?"

"I was their mechanic, if that's what you're asking." Mead sighs.

"And.... that means you actually hung out with THE Three Strikes himself, right?" You gasp.

"Yeah, what of it?" Mead looks at you curiously, as if trying to figure out what you were planning.

"Yeah, so simple pilot machismo. I get it." Mead nods. "And from what I hear, it sounds like you're quickly catching up to Trigger, if what I'm hearing about the shit you're pulling off out there is true."

"Do you mean it?" You blink.

"Do I look like the type of person to lie?" Mead laughs. "Though unlike most pilots, Trigger never really bragged about crap he got himself into. It was just all part of the job for him, I guess. Even when he was nothing more than a con in a busted ass plane."

"Sounds like you knew him well." You point out.

"Oh, nothing so grand. We just happened to be lumped in the same unit. I'm not particularly close to him or anything." Mead shrugs. "Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate everything he's done for us, but I don't think either of us really truly consider each other friends."

"...huh." You pause. "And what would that make us?"

"A mechanic who doesn't know when to quit when she's ahead and a brat of a pilot who's probably gonna get herself killed doing some dumb stunt." Mead grins.

"Harsh." You return the grin.

"So hey, Mead." You continue, shifting to a more serious topic. "You ran with these penal squadrons, so, can you tell me what I can expect from them? Out in the field?"

"Generally? They're all a bunch of cowardly scumbags." Mead shrugs. "The squadron I ran with wasn't all that bad, but they'd pretty much turn tail and run the moment things didn't look good. Got our commanders all proper pissed, but it's pretty much their fault for expecting anything out of cons."

"So, they shouldn't be a problem, then?"

"Who knows? Fear can work in weird ways." Mead gives you a hard stare. "It can make pilots do unexpected and dangerous things so you watch your ass out there."

"And what about the pilots themselves?"

"Can't say." Mead shakes her head. "The 444th may have been cons, but they weren't really all that bad. Most of them were in for pretty light offenses. Political agitators, gamblers, petty thieves, stuff like that. I can't say anything about the other penal squadrons, but I hear they were crewed by some pretty mean motherfuckers. Actual hardcore criminal types."

"Wonderful." You sigh.

"Anyways, I"m sure your bosses will have more to say once we get to Fort Grays." Mead shrugs. "Now get outta here. You should have better things to do than talking to a mechanic with too much free time on her hands."

And with that, you take your leave.

"Oh, and kid. One more thing." Mead calls out.

"Yeah?" You pause.

"Those stunts you pulled. People are gonna talk about those, and word travels. I'd watch my back if I were you."

"You know, Stripes, you really didn't have to come out all this way with us." You sigh as you glance at the blue F-15 off to your side.

"Hey! Don't worry about it! I'm just a friend tagging along, right?"

"You're just bored because there's nothing left to do at Comona, right?" You roll your eyes.

"...maybe." Lara replies sheepishly.

Currently, you were flying ahead of the Anderson on the last leg of the trip to Fort Grays, your new home for the immediate future to carry out IUN police actions. With the destruction of the supersub prowling the waters, the constant drone raids on the rocket launch facility immediately stopped.

However, one concerning thing the Comona navy found was that upon inspecting the supersub, they found that it was completely automated. Not a single living soul was found aboard, alive or otherwise. This led to the IUN bigwigs thinking that it was possibly an automated Erusean sub that went rogue after losing contact with its HQ. Or, there was the possibility there was still an automated factory cranking these things out. Neither scenario was particularly encouraging.

Regardless, the Andersen still had to press on. You and Raven Squadron were currently flying ahead of the fleet as a recon element along with Orpheus Squadron. Lara had decided to tag along of her own accord, and with her reputation, nobody was about to tell her no. Not even Bandit!

"Don't tell me you got a "feeling" about this patrol..." You groan.

"W-what do you mean by that?" Vicky asks in a bit of a panicked tone.

"Stripe always has a knack for sniffing out when trouble is gonna start." You sigh. "The only reason she's tagging along is that she wants to get in on that trouble."

"I-is that true?!" Vicky wails. "Are we going to be ambushed?!?"

"That's what I'm hoping!" Lara laughs.

"I like her more and more!" Misono joins in on the confident laughter.

"Stop trying to scare her." Bandit grunts. "Focus on your radar screens and not on gossip. We're still on a mission here."

"Yes sir!" Vicky and Misono both respond.

"Yeah yeah." You reply.

Good thing you were on squadron comms. You wonder what the two Orpheus pilots would think if they heard all of this chatter.

You keep an eye on your surroundings, keeping a close eye on both your radar set and the ocean below. It was a clear, sunny day, so there was little chance of anybody springing an ambush on you. However, it always helped to be vigilant.

And that's when you see a crimson flare pop out into the sky.

"Hey, does anybody see that?" You speak up. "A flare to the northwest."

"I see it." Alanna confirms. "I'm not picking up any SOS calls or radio traffic, though."

"Their comms might be down." Bandit points out.

"Or it's a trap!" Vicky wails.

"Either way, we're not equipped to handle a ship SOS." Angela butts in with that oddly professional tone she only ever had when in the cockpit. "We'll log the position and keep going."

"We should do something to help." You insist. "What if it's pirates or something?"

There's a brief pause on Angela's end before she finally responds.

"All right, Orpheus will go check it out. Bandit, what's your call?"

"Red, you take someone and go with them. I'd rather not take any chances." Bandit says.

Huh, Bandit was giving you a pick for your wingmate? That was pretty unusual.

While Vicky and Misono were dependable enough in their own ways, there was also Lara to consider. She was pretty much a beast of a pilot, and if there was something up with this, she'd definitely love to be involved...

"Swordfish, you're with me!" You bark.

"Right!" Vicky says, naturally falling into formation beside you.

Though Lara doesn't say anything, you could almost picture her pouting in her cockpit. She was always looking for a fight and didn't like getting left behind. Maybe next time...

"Come on Ravens, don't lag behind!" Angel tuts as the two Orpheus planes jet ahead.

You hit your throttle as you push you Su-30 to keep up with them, as Vicky's Gripen attempts to maintain formation.

Sure enough, you can see a column of ugly black smoke rising from the water as you see what looks to be some sort of yacht in flames.

"That doesn't look good at all." Angela remarks. "We're still not picking up any comms?"

"No, and I can't get a clear view of the deck, either." Vicky replies.

"I don't like this at all." Angela grumbles. "One pair will have to drop down to get a better look. The other will have to stay up here to provide CAP."

"Heh, trusting Ustians to watch your back, huh? Sure thing." Alanna remarks.

You do your best to ignore that jab and key your radio over to Vicky.

"All right, Swordfish, you ready?"

"Whenever you are Red!" Vicky replies.

With that, you start throttling back and dropping altitude to get a better look...

No, it wasn't falling apart. The whole thing was a damn facade!

You pull the trigger... but nothing happens.

"What the hell?!" You blurt.

Thankfully, Vicky is quick on the draw, her Gripen swooping in and launching a pair of missiles that slam into the side of gunboat, causing the entire craft to go up in the geyser of flame and water.

"Red, are you okay?" Vicky asks as the two of you pull up to gain altitude.

"Something's wrong with my missiles..." You grunt as you check your plane's status, only to be dismayed when you see ERROR messages filling the screen.

Looks like your missiles were completely useless now. Great.

"Ravens, heads up! We've got incoming bogies! Lots of them!" Alanna warns. "It's going to be a real hectic airshow soon!"

"Red, are you still good to fight?" Vicky wonders. "We've still got time to fall back..."

"No way! And let Orpheus hog all the glory?" You snort. "Nah, the others can catch up. We're not leaving Orpheus to handle this on their loneseome!"

"G-got it!" VIcky affirms.

You then check your radar screen, which was at least still working unlike your missiles. Sure enough, you could see over two dozen radar contacts making a beeline straight to your position. This far out, the radar was having trouble determining exactly what kind of planes they were, but they definitely were fighters of some type.

Meanwhile, off to the side, you could see Orpheus Squadron correcting their headings to engage the oncoming bogeys head on.

While you could have let Orpheus go on ahead to draw the attention of the bogies, you weren't about to let them go and get the honor of first blood. You were going to fight these assholes o your terms!

As the enemy planes draw closer, you can soon start to make out what they were. It looked like a haphazardly cobbled together force, using planes of all types and ages. F-4 Phantoms, F-5 Tigers, F-20 Tigersharks, MiG-23s, and more. These had to be those rogue penal squadrons you had heard about.

Farther back, though, you could make out a handful of more modern planes. F-18s, an F-14, and another Su-30. Those must be the head honchos, was your best guess.

Suddenly, your plane is rocked by a heavy explosion, sending it tumbling out of control. You're only barely able to level out just in time to see a flash of black blitz past you.

https://youtu.be/IVMQAyOgfyA

It was... it was some type of fighter that looked more like a UFO than a plane. It was sleek and angular, with forward canted wings and no signs of any obvious cockpit. Honestly, it looked like some sort of oversized drone. And the entire hull was painted a pure, yet almost familiar shade of black.

And the way it moved, it was so goddamned FAST. Even the penal fighters seem to be caught off guard by its presence. And with a loud, inhuman shriek, the mystery fighter blast straight through their formation like a rocket, easily half a dozen of their number going down in flaming wrecks.

"W-w-w-what is that thing/!??!" Vicky shrieks.

"No way!" Angela. gasps. "There can't possibly be another one-!"

It's then that you realize this alien fighter has already looped around with crazy, almost inhuman agility, its nose pointed straight at you.

Specifically you.

Was... was this thing gunning for you?!

Suddenly, a flurry of missiles streak past you towards the mystery fighter as Vicky, Angela, and Alanna dump everything they have. The mystery fighter breaks away at what you swear is an 90 degree angle to avoid the missiles, getting it out of the face for the moment.

"Fall back!" You hear Angela bark, the evident signs of panic creeping in her voice. "All planes FALL BACK."

You didn't have to be told twice that this thing was a serious fucking threat. Even the penal fighters seemed to be in a state of disarray, with half the remaining ones fleeing while the other half attempted to engage it., but was like watching snails trying to keep up with a race car

Call it a pilot's instinct, or Lara's "feeling", but you had the very distinct impression this mystery fighter was gunning directly for you and you alone.

"That thing will just run us down and pick us off one by one! We all know that!" You point out. "You saw that thing's after me anyways. At least this way we only put one plane at risk!"

There's a few seconds of awkward, desperate silence before Angela finally responds.

"Roger that. Don't get yourself killed."

Both Orpheus planes then turn around and disengage. However, Vicky's Gripen doesn't follow them.

"Swordfish, get outta here!" You goan!

"You're gonna get yourself killed!" You yell."If you want to help, get the rest of the squadron here. I have a feeling it's going to take all of us to even put a dent in this thing. Trust me on this, okay?"

"O-okay." Vicky says, clearly reluctant to leave. "B-but you better stay alive! Or I'll make you regret it!"

"Heh, sure thing Swordfish. It's a promise." You grin.

Finally, Vicky's Gripen peels away follow Orpheus Squadron, leaving you as the last IUN plane in the area. As for the penal fighters, the last few that didn't flee at the outset had just gone down in balls of flame. You get the feeling that whoever or whatever was flying that mystery fighter... it was setting the stage.

"All right, it's me you want, isn't it? Well come and get me, asshole!" You yell through the radio.

There's no answer as the mystery fighter blasts forward directly at you.

It would be a nice fixer upper project for the end game if we manage to find a manned version, or a laser weapon.

Your alien adversary was closing in on you at blinding speed. Thankfully, the missile volley from Vicky and Orpheus Squadron managed to drive it away a good distance, but you still had to respond quickly-

"Red, we're on the way! Just hold on a little longer!" Bandit calls out. "We'll be in range in two minutes."

Two minutes in a life or death dogfight like this may as well be an eternity...

You grit your teeth as you bank your Su-30 hard to the west towards the mainland. This wasn't exactly the ideal course of action, but at this point you didn't really have much other option. Your only hope at shaking this damn thing was to fly low and fast and try to lose it in the ground clutter. Eve that thing drone or piloted, had to have its limits, right?

You glance at the shoreline, but frown when you see your options aren't all that great. The first thing you notice is a craggy cliffside running down a section of the shore. Not exactly ideal, but flying alongside it would at least limit the directions this mystery fighter could get at you from.

There was also what looked to be a coastal city. The tall buildings and canals could serve as good cover, but you didn't even want to think about the potential collateral damage...

You rapidly pull your stick back, performing a classic cobra move. The mystery plane is caught off guard by your sudden deceleration and overshoots, putting you in a position directly behind it.

Now was the moment of truth. You could try and go for a gun run on the mystery plane, but that meant getting close to it, and with that inhuman agility, that might be giving it the opportunity to reverse the situation.

Or you can hang farther back and make it think you have a missile lock on it. At the very least, being able to hang farther back meant you'd have a bigger buffer to react to its moves.

The mystery plane continues to circle around you like a predator, its motives, if it had any, were completely inscrutable to you.

However, everything changes when the plane immediately changes direction and accelerates away, zooming inland at blinding speed.

At the same time, Orpheus and the rest of Raven Squadron arrive in force, no doubt the reason the mystery plane decided to flee.

"So uh, Guillotine, Scalpel." You speak up, breaking the silence. "You know what that plane was? A 'Raven' or something?"

"Yeah. Well, it's official designation is the ADF-11F." Angela explains. "A super high tech fighter developed by Grunder Industries and sold to Erusea."

"I'm sure the irony that you almost got killed by what's essentially a Belkan designed fighter should have dawned on you." Alanna adds.

"Yeah mean Erusea had these things? How'd they lose the war, then?" You frown.

"There were only ever two made during the Lighthouse War, and they both got shot down by Three Strikes." Angela further explains. "The fact a third one's shown up is... not good."

"So is it another drone?" Misono wonders.

"I have my doubts." Bandit grunts. "If I recall, the Raven can be optionally manned. And this one didn't fly like the ones that showed up at the Lighthouse. Either it's got a different AI or there's a person behind the controls."

"Even the best drones are ultimately based off the flight data of real pilots." Bandit points out. "And that hasn't stopped numerous insanely talented pilots appearing when they're needed the most."

Well, Bandit maybe did have a point, but you weren't fully convinced.

Soon enough, though, Fort Grays comes into view, and you're given clearance to land. Like Comona, it was a large island base, but you were pretty used to that by now anyways.

You're obviously the first to land, since your Su-30 was the most banged up and most in need of emergency assistance if something were to go wrong. Thankfully, you manage to land without a hitch, the large concrete runway providing plenty of room for error, even with the setting sun.

As you step out of your cockpit, however...

If this were all happening in private, it probably would have been fine. However, you simply can't deal with it when the others see you in this state.

Both Angela and Lara burst out in uncontrollable fits of laughter while Bandit raises a very curious eyebrow. Both Vicky and Misono turn a slight shade of red. All the while, Alanna seems to be completely oblivious to the others' reactions. Or maybe she didn't care. Either way, this was so fucking embarrassing that you kinda wished that Raven had actually killed you.

All you could do was cover your face with your hands and hope that it would all be over soon.

>And that's it for tonight! As always, next thread is on Friday, so don't miss it!

Thanks for the thread, Merc!

We'll have to omit this part when we tell people how we managed to survive against a Raven.

See you next time.

Milly should probably write to Grunder Industries and ask for some special gear.

When Milly assumes her natural mantle as leader of the rebellion, surely we will get a suit of armor to match.
We shall mass-produce the RAVEN and bring the foreign imperialists to their knees

Hey Merc, is there a trauma roll for Millie? She did watch an entire mook force be wiped out, made everyone terrified, targeted by an ace, fought Belkan engineering, accepted to be a sacrificial pawn, barely survive for reinforcements, push to the limit with g-forces, and didn't even scratch the enemy. I would imagine she would not like to face that drone again.

Or another fever dream where Milly is a Brooklyn-class light cruiser, Vicky is an aircraft carrier and Misono is Yahagi.

Rolled 8 (1d20)

Not to mention Bandit being their Commander which they try to gain affection with.

>>3834473
Let's roll for it

Maybe we'll start next thread with a dream sequence consisting of Milly's whole life before it turns to hell when the part with the Raven pops up?

I wouldn't be surprised if Milly just changes her flying/Ace Style immediately afterwards, and that's not mentioning the potential string of multiple 10s being rolled in the possible future.

>string of multiple 10s

Oh god, we don't need Milly to lose her ability to fly, and turn back into being a Nugget again.

If we're going to lose her funk, Milly should probably take a break and head back home for a bit if possible. Maybe a chat with Karla, or just being home would help?
>>
>>3834532
Rolling for trauma.
>>3834553
Maybe have Karla give a speech to raise our spirit and to never give up. A vacation sounds like a great idea, go drinking, get in a bar fight standing up for Belkan pride, not get ambushed by even more drones.

You want a nightmare? How about Milly waking up in another world?

Specifically......EA's attempt to recreate the success of the Ace Combat franchise with LOOTBOX COMBAT!!!
>>
>>3835446
EA:Pick your plane for 10.99, pick your weapons 3.99, how much fuel .99 per gallon, pay for lift off 2.99.
Millie: Let me fly already.
EA: Pay for a membership account 29.99 per month.
Millie: AAAAHHHH!.
>>
>>3835483
Worst thing is, there are rumors of EA trying to make their own AC-esque game with recent job openings.
>>
>>3835507
They truly want to ruin everything they touch
>>
>>3834553
>>3835388
Plus we can hang out with Ellisa (to see how she decorated her room), or even try to investigate Milly's parents. My money on one of them being Dorodoro.
>>
>>3835575
It would truly start our side character backstory, and it will be up to Vicky or Karla to bring our spirit back.
>>
There's also the possibility of Ace Combat style heavy handed symbolism.

Something like Milly finding a small bird outside with an injured wing received from a fight with a crow.

It then becomes the mascot named, "Nugget".
>>
>dice
Can't wait for next week when we roll like airborne gods again
>>
So for those that played Operation Sighthound,

What the hell was that all about?

Also, Electronic Warfare is OP.
