/qst/ - Quests

Seventeen years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza’s army. Since that fateful day, the Saiyans have more than earned their title of warrior race. After the now-legendary Siege of New Salda broke the might of the Covenant’s empire, no other empire has dared to openly challenge the PTO’s military superiority, or the mighty Saiyans in battle. Entire systems have surrendered without a fight, thanks in part to the battle being spread far and wide through the Vox media empire. But how long can the might of the Saiyans remain unchallenged?

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, currently Age 748. You the players control Karn, a Saiyan with a last-recorded powerlevel of 14,139,700, a general in Lord Freeza’s army, husband and mate to Meloka, father of many, champion of New Salda, wielder of the Stand Dragon Force, and as “The Dragon of New Salda” you are the unbroken symbol of the PTO’s might across the stars. The Saiyan race has enjoyed an unprecedented time of peace, but it seems that peace may br coming to an end.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

In the darkness of the Abyss, Karn faced down a creature known as the Darklurker. After a long battle, and finding out more about the Abyss, Karn killed the creature. He took the last dying embers of the creature inside himself, then Kaathe took Karn to his master. As we rejoin Karn, you havr just came face-to-face with the ruler of the Abyss to collect your reward.

“Dark Lord Aku, this mortal has done it.” Kaathe says, the serpent’s tone both excited and reverent. “He defeated the trespasser! It that lurks within your realm is no more.”
“He has?” Aku asks, the giant, familiar face of the so-called “Shapeshifting Master of Darkness” leaning in closer to you. “Hrmmm. How is it that one as weak as you was able to defeat that what so many of my knights could not?”
“Like this.” you say, focusing and transforming into your Berserker form. Aku is taken aback, this one clearly not knowing you or what you’re capable of. So you stand there, green aura radiating with power as Aku curiously looks you over. “Believe me now?”
“I must say, your transformation is quite impressive, mortal.” Aku says, leaning back and away as you transform back down to normal size. “I see now how you were able to defeat it. Were you, perhaps, promised a reward for that creature’s elimination?”
“Yes, Master A-“ Kaathe starts, Aku holding up a hand. The serpent immediately goes silent, Aku turning his focus back to you and waiting. A moment later you realize he’s waiting for your response.
“Yes. I was told you could do something about this?” you ask, gesturing to your armor. Aku leans in curiously, studying the dark warping and staining your armor, as well as covering much of your skin. “I was marked while escaping the Time Patrol’s prison. And with all this on me, I won’t be able to go back home until it’s removed. Can you help me?”

“Of cooourse!” Aku says, lifting a hand and placing it palm-up on the ground before you. A smaller Aku comes up out of his hand, placing his hand on your chest. “Now hold still, this may sting a little bit.”
“I’m rea-tch!” you say, as suddenly you feel like you’ve been stabbed through the chest. Which has happened several times now, you depressingly realize. Without others’ help, you wouldn’t still be alive today.
“And done.” both Akus say in perfect sync as the small one pulls it’s hand from your chest. Looking down at yourself, you see that he was indeed good to his word, leaving your flesh and the remains of your armor without the taint of the Dark. “Now, I shall send you back to whence you came. But before I do, may I ask yet another favor of you, proud warrior?”

Well?

“Another favor? What else could he possibly want?” you think to yourself. You’ve already destroyed a powerful enemy, and your left shoulder’s wound throbs in pain, reminding you it’s there and needs attention, soon. But it is Aku asking; and while he’s not your Aku, the least you can do is hear him out. “I won’t promise anything yet, but I will at least hear you out. What do you want my help with?”
“It you will come with me.” Aku says, the smaller Aku in the massive hand gesturing for you to walk onto it. You warily walk forward, standing by the small Aku protruding from Aku’s massive hand. His entire body rumbles, and quickly begins descending down the fiery-seeming pit. After several seconds his descent slows, then his hand comes to rest on the red floor. Looking around, you see the frozen-seeming flames decorating what seems to be some sort of bedroom, scaled for the titanic Aku. But what draws your eye is what lies in the center of the room. You see a large greatsword stuck point-first into the ground, but it surprisingly, somehow has Aku’s darkness coming from the ground beneath it. “Yes, that is what I want your help with.”

“A sword?” you ask him, uncertain. “You brought me here to see a sword?”
“This is not just a sword.” he says, his smaller version beside you going over to it. As his smaller-sized version gets closer, the blade starts to glow with a slight blue hue along the edges. Aku hisses in discomfort, backing up. “Long ago, the Wolf Knight pinned me here with his divine blade. I have been trapped here ever since, unable to roam even my own realm freely. None of my Abyssal servants have been able to so much as even grasp it’s hilt, much less free me. So I have a deal for you, warrior. Free me. Release me from my prison. And if you do, that knight’s accursed sword is all yours. What do you say? Will you, champion, release me?”

Well?

“I free you, and I get a powerful weapon?” you ask him, Aku nodding. It looks odd, as both the colossal and more people-sized ones move in sync. You turn towards the sword, focusing your mind for some extra advice, and think. “Hey, Darth Bane? You here?”
“Of course.” Bane says, the ancient Sith materializing beside you and gazing upon the sword. “You wish to know more of this weapon, yes?”
“So you’ve seen it before?” you ask the Sith, who’s slowly floating a circle around the weapon. But as you ask he shakes his head, turning back to you.
“No. This weapon is radiating with powerful, ancient magic.” he says, surprising you. “Even back in my time, this weapon would have been a relic. I know not how it was made, or what it can do. However, I may know something about this ‘Wolf Knight” he mentioned. Legends I learned from my time studying the universe speak of the Age of Gods, when beings of incredible power shaped the realm. One tale spoke of a legendary Abysswalker, who defeated a primal evil armed with arms and armor crafted by the gods.”

“I’ve met a few so-called gods, and they weren’t very impressive.” you tell Bane, stepping forward and addressing Aku. “I’m in. I’ll free you.”
“I’m rooting for you!” Aku says, pulling as much of his darkness back from the sword as he can. “You can do it!”
“Alright, here goes.” you say, stepping up to it and grasping the blade in both hands. Bending your knees, you brace yourself, ready to give it everything you’ve got. “HAAAAAAA!!”

Aaaaaaaand nothing. You put your full power without transforming into pulling the blade free, but it doesn’t move. It doesn’t even budge, the ancient yet pristine blade defying time and you. Snarling in frustration, you transform, green aura exploding out as you go Super Saiyan.

“I’m not done yet!!” you shout, digging in and heaving. Yet even as a Super Saiyan, pulling with all your might, it still doesn’t give an inch. What the hell? You then Ascend, power doubling as sparks dance around your body and aura, yet still the relic defies you. With a shout you give it a final heave but it’s no use, your hands slipping as you fall back. Crashing back-first to the ground, you spend a moment catching your breath. “What the hell?”
“So you were unable to remove it as well.” Aku says, sighing out in disappointment. “Oh well, you tried. Are you ready to go home, or do you want to take another crack at it?”

Well?

yeah, but from what I understand dragon force is more for nullifying defense to hurt/pierce stuff better, not negating powers in general. That makes me a little worried that the sword shattering and the magic doing something funky would be more likely than it being easier to move if we gripped it with DF.

“I’m not done.” you say, rising back to your feet and cracking your knuckles. “This time I’m going all-out!”

https://youtube.com/watch?v=M65QwnxHe6I

“HRRRRRRYYAAAAAAAAAA!!!” you roar, unleashing your true power. Your body quickly grows to your full Ascended Berserker size, as your strength rises to several hundred times your base power. The entire world trembles in the face of your true power, even Aku getting blasted back as your aura flares wildly. “RRRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
“S-Such power!” Aku says as your scream ends and aura settles back down, sparks dancing along your body. “Who are you?“
“I am Karn.” you say, right hand grasping the sword’s grip as your left grabs one of the crossguard’s arms. You take a moment to fill the sword with your ki, then pull. “The Super Saiyan!!”

And with 100% of your full power, you pull the sword free. You pull with such power that you’re thrown off-balance, sent staggering back a dozen-or-so steps before regaining your balance. The sword fits in your Berserker fist one-handed, the greatsword’s entire handle fitting in one massive fist. With your green light reflecting off of it, especially the golden highlights, the sword looks quite menacing indeed. The weight feels off-balance, it taking you a moment to remember that it wasn’t built as a one-handed sword.

“You’ve done it!!!” Aku shouts, you turning as darkness begins to pour from the hole. It shoots far straight up into the sky, pouring forth as if it were water kept under extreme pressure. More and more Dark pours forth, Aku cheering as more and more of his essence explodes forth. Like a dam bursting, more and more of his darkness shoots out, the colossal creature taking a moment from his celebration to lean in to you. “My sincerest thanks to you, Karn. As promised, that damnable sword is all yours. Farewell, warrior. Your legend shall live on forever, once this world is mine!”

And before you can say anything Aku screeches, you clutching your head with your left hand as the piercing note rings out. Your eyes shut, and a moment later it’s over. You blink several times in sudden, blinding light. It takes you several seconds for your eyes to adjust, and reveal that you’re no longer in the Dark.

“KAAARN!!”

Your wife and Towa both shout at your sudden arrival, you seeing that once more you’re back in Towa’s lab. You find yourself standing in the circle where the Darklurker had pulled you in. The circle seems to be inactive now, the dark material lifeless. But you can’t spend any time to think on it, as your wife’s diminutive form rushes right for you. She crashes bodily into you, sobbing miserably into your chest. You hold her to you with your left arm, right holding the sword back and away from her to avoid any accidents and rest your forehead against her head.

“Shh, it’s okay. I’m here.” you say to your wife, Towa having been circling you intensely. You address her, holding the sword up and out towards her. “I got it all off me. All I had to do was kill something called a Darklurker, and I even got this for my trouble.”
“The Abysswalker’s blade...” she mutters, leaning in and studying it intensely. “Impossible. It was down there all this time?”
“So you know what it can do?” you ask her, releasing your transformation and returning to your base form. The sword becomes heavier and heavier as you do, you resting the tip on the ground as you hold it upright. But as you move the blade Towa immediately backs up, you raising an eyebrow curiously. “Towa?”
“Just be careful with that.” she says, waving her staff and cleaning a large nearby table off. “Set it here, we can look at it later.”
“Sure.” you say, walking over and laying in down. Once your arm is free Towa comes to you and hugs you, arm around both you and Meloka. You smile, wrapping your right arm around Towa and holding them both close as the demon princess begins crying as well. “Shh, shh, it’s okay. I didn’t mean to worry you both like that. But it’s all okay now.”

As the two women clutch desperately to you, you focus your mind and place your right hand’s fingers
to your forehead, and Instant Transmission away. You leave the sword behind, returning to the room you’d first come to when leaving the Time Patrol’s headquarters. You had used Future Chaya’s ki as the signal to lock on to, her, the kids, and even Freeza are all surprisingly still here. You ponder it a moment, remembering Kaathe explaining that time moves differently there in the Dark.

“DAD!” Chaya shouts, leaping at you as the entire roomful of Saiyans, demons, and Freeza all turn towards you.

Your daughter’s shout opened the floodgates, your family all rushing at you together. Present and future, pure Saiyan and half-demon, they all rush towards you. You, Meloka and Towa are all trapped under the press of your large family. Many like the Chayas are crying, while others like Broly, Maza and Chilli try their best to remain stoic. You comfort them all, making sure to speak with each and every one of your children. You comfort them, holding each and every one despite how much Future Chaya tried to complain that she “wasn’t a kid anymore”. But you petting her head won her over, and she embraced you in a bone-breaking hug without further complaint.

“It is good to see you well, Karn.” Freeza says as you release your future daughter, your friend walking towards you in his 4th form. You go to hold your hand out to him, to say something, when he suddenly dashes forward. Before anyone can react he slams a fist right into your gut, the scraps of armor no longer covering it. His sudden strike caught you by complete surprise, you wheezing and dropping to a knee as you clutch at your gut. Everyone around you gasps, Future Chaya taking a threatening step forward until Freeza grabs you under the chin, tilting your face up to his. “Don’t you dare do something that reckless again, do you hear me?! We’re all relying on you, don’t you dare get yourself captured again! Do you understand me?”

“M-Missed you too, Freeza.” you say, reaching up and grabbing his arm with your left and using him to haul yourself to your feet. Freeza remains steadfast, letting you use him to right yourself. You smile at your clearly-embarrassed friend, surprising him by grabbing your friend and wrapping him in your arms as well.
“I-! Wha-? You!” he stammers, the surprise leaving him unable to form a coherent sentence. “What do you think you’re doing?!”
“It’s okay Freeza, I’ll be careful.” you tell him. “After all, we’ve got a planet to protect.”
“Hmph. Well, at least you know what you fight for.” Freeza says, immediately backing up as you release him. “I’ll see you there, then. Churai?”
“Of course.” the android says, appearing by Freeza and placing a hand on his shoulder. Before you can say anything else they both vanish, your friend no doubt returning to your timeline to finish his own preparations.

We are a fucking beast that made the Master of Darkness shit himself out of fear five second ago (and he wasn't even the subject of our wrath, on the contrary, we trated him with what Karn understands as friendliness and politeness)

This is why you don't skip those, free levels are free.

Do you know the worst part: She actually though a lot about her plan. But she's retarded and choose to kidnapp Karn. She's like a noob+casual+jobber player that picks the Ultrahardcore Nightmare of Death Mode and skips the tutorial, then get's butthurt and REEEEEs about the game being unfair and trash.
>>
>>3869071
You see this type of shit is why the zero kais plan is a thing, and we wanna just boot her out to have trunks run the show, at the very least we have seen saiyans be racially competent all quest, regardless of the timeline.
>>
>>3869071
Honestly should have just deleted us when she had the chance. We gotta steal a time ring at some point so she can't just fuck us up in another timeline.
>>
>>3869076
i feel like the easiest way for that is find a zamasu, remove zamasu, and take his ring from his corpse.
>>
>>3869076
>Get a Time Ring.
Zamasu has one, we could fight some enemy timebreaker Zamasu in the future. Unironically, his immortality is a big deal to everyone but Zen Oh, the Hakaishin and Karn (Bless you Dragon Force, bless you...). We just need an IC reason to loot the ring, like thinking it's pretty and would look wonderful in Towa's hand... (we gain a Time Ring and a fucktone of waifu points).

“Don’t worry Koruza, I’m not leaving just yet.” you say, ruffling your son’s white hair. “I’ll be staying here for a little bit, working on something. That is, if your mother lets me.”
“Can Daddy stay?” Koruza asks Towa, the demon princess smiling helplessly down at her son. “Pleeeeaaaase?”
“Of course.” she says, Koruza and the other half-demon children all cheering enthusiastically. Even several of your own children cheer as well. Seems they’re excited to stay here for awhile as well. And so you, your wife and children stay with Towa and your kids with her as well, your family all enjoying being here together. During your stay, you notice several of the children from different mothers beginning to warm up to each other. Broly and Maza surprisingly begin training together, after Broly showed his Berserker power in a sparring match. At first Maza was arrogant, acting superior and arrogant towards his brother until Broly showed off his true power. After their first fight they became far friendlier with each other, the two almost becoming friendly rivals. The Chayas spend their time together, and Chilli shows off his magical talents to Towa. The younger children play together, while Meloka works with Cell on some of her own special techniques. But you have your own training to do, taking your newly-acquired magical sword into one of the heavily-reinforced training rooms.

“I see you have a new sword.” Bellona says, the plucky mechanical fighter says. She has her own large sword resting on her shoulder, shield fastened on her left arm. With a spin she takes her stance, shield towards you and sword held low behind her. “So, ready to test it out?”
“Hell yeah.” you say, trying to take your usual Djem So stance. But the sword’s weight is something you’re completely unused to, throwing you off-baance. Your Super Ki Blade is weightless, whereas this sword is noticeably hefty. “Woah!”
“Huh? What’s wrong?” Bellona asks, confused. “You act like you’ve never held a real sword before.”
“I guess I haven’t.” you say, finally finding your balance and settling in. “Looks like I’ll need plenty of practice getting used to this.”
“Sounds good to me.” she says, clanging the flat of her sword’s blade against her shield. “Now, come at me!”
“Gladly!” you shout, leaping towards the war machine. “HAAAAA!!”
cont
>>
>>3869096
Bellona, as it turns out, is an excellent sparring partner. While you spend several days adjusting to fighting with your new sword, Bellona never tires nor grows bored with sparring you. And as you adjust from swinging a weightless sword to one with considerable weight, especially in New Salda’s equivalent gravity, she proves invaluable. The machine is able to call out your mistakes, striking you with her large sword. You also aren’t surprised to find out that Bellona is able to learn your Djem So techniques just from sparring with you. After a day or two, she surprised you while clashing sword-to-sword. Using one of the Djem So deflecting blocks she knocked your sword aside, then bashed you square in the nose with her sword’s pommel.

“Shit!” you shouted, the surprise hit knocking you flat on your ass. You felt your blood pouring down your face, Caulifla rushing over.
“Hold still! she’d said, Triumph dropping a single tear down onto your broken nose and quickly mending it. “There! All better!”
“Thanks kiddo.” you’d said, getting back to your feet and ruffing her hair. She beamed at you, before running off back over to Koruza, the two having their Stands compare different powers. You’d then resumed your stance, heavy blade held overhead. “Alright, let’s get back to it.”

Fortunately all your training with Bane over the past year has paid off, and you quickly grasp how to utilize the extra momentum a real, physical sword bestows on each of your strikes. Your recovery time between swings takes longer than with your Super Ki Blade, but you feel that without the constant drain on your ki you could fight for far longer with this blade. But that’s not all you do during the two weeks you and your family are here. You also let Towa study the magical blade, to see what it can reallt do.

”This weapon is truly special.” Towa says, the demon princess reminding you she’s a scientist at heart with the intensity she’d been studying the sword. “It is clearly the genuine article, and despite it being several thousands of years old, there is still serious magical power coursing through it.”
“That explains why it was strong enough to still have Aku pinned in the Abyss.” you say, having already explained before what happened while down in that Abyss. ”But why would he let it go?”
“Because the Wolf’s blade strikes harder against the Dark and those that serve it.” Towa’d replied without looking up as she examined the magical weapon through her special lenses. “This sword destroys the Dark and it’s agents. He would have no way to safely store it. But that brings up another important question.”
“What’s that?” you ask her.
“Will you take it with you, when you return to your time?” she asks. “Or will you leave it here, for safekeeping?”

“I’ll take it with me.” you say, after a moment’s thought. “I could leave it here, but I’m keeping everything on hand that could give me an edge against the damn Time Kai.”
“I understand.” Towa says, glancing towards the god-slaying spear Godsend resting against the nearby wall. But after a moment she turns to you, sounding concerned. “Are you, you know, okay?”
“Uhh, yeah?” you reply, confused. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You told me how you, you know, woke up.” she says, glancing up and down your body. “She didn’t do anything to take advantage of you, did she?”
“What? No, not that I’m aware of.” you reply, hugging the concerned demoness. “I’m fine. You already scanned me, she didn’t bug me with anything. I’m okay Towa, I’m okay.”

“Oh Karn.” she’d said, pouncing on you. During your two week stay, you and Meloka had slept together with your host in Towa’s room, the three of you sharing the bed. Although, admittedly, you didn’t get to spend much time asleep. Between your two womens’ needs, and the kids all rushing into the room early in the mornings, you rarely got more than a few hours’ sleep at a time. But with most of your rather large family all in one place together, it is a happy time for you. But all too soon, it’s time for you to go home.

“Bye Auntie Towa! See you soon!” Caulifla says, her and Meloka getting teleported away by Churai. Towa turns and glares at Future Chaya, who puts both hands behind her head, whistling innocently. You chuckle, hugging each of your half-demon children in turn.
“Maza. Milha. Koruza. I’m so very proud of you three.” you say. “I’ll be back soon, you all behave for your mother, okay?”
“Yes!” they all say, you smiling and standing up, turning to your future daughter.
“Be safe.” she says, you hugging her close. “Keep little me safe too, okay?”
“I will.” you promise, ruffling her hair. You then turn and step to Towa, the demon princess kissing you deeply. “I’ll be back.”
“I know you will.” she says, letting you go. “Give them hell, Karn. Churai.”
“Let’s go.” the android says, returning you to your own timeline. You find yourself once more before several unfamiliar Saiyans in the medical area. You realize this must be shocking for them, a giant sword suddenly appearing on your shoulder.

“Hey.” you say casually, looking around the room as stunned whispers begin rising around the room. “What’d I miss?”
“Karn, you’re ok!” a familiar voice calls out, the door opening and revealing one of Aku’s Daughters. But her face suddenly goes beet-red, seeing you standing there completely naked. “I-Uhh-He-Hey.”
“Hey. You seen my clothes?” you ask her, the shapeshifter turning around and fleeing. You then look around the room once more, and ask them all. “Anyone?”
“Here, General.” a voice says, you turning to your right towards the sound.

okay so i think we should tell aku when he see us with the sword we got it as payment from a guy we know while we telepathically tell him we got it from an alternate version of him when he asks us why he'd give it to us we tell it's presence put the guy in one hell of a bind an he wanted it out of his hair any objections?

“Thanks.” you say, flipping the sword casually and setting it tip-first on the ground, resting against the nearby table. You take the suit held out to you by the young-seeming Saiyan, quickly getting dressed. “What’s your name, kid.”
“T-To-Totoma, sir.” he says, saluting. “My name is Totoma.”
“Thanks Totoma.” you say, just pulling the blue skintight on and leaving the armor, pulling your boots on. But the boy seems nervous, you deciding to ask the kid what’s bothering him. “What’s wrong, Totoma?
“N-N-Nothing sir!” he shouts, you turning your gaze to him and raising an eyebrow. He gets visibly more and more uncomfortable, until he finally relents, pointing to the sword. “What is that? And where did it come from?”
“It’s a sword.” you say, rising to your feet. Taking it in one hand, you flip it once to rest on your right shoulder. “As for where it came from, that’s a long story. Let’s just say that I killed a powerful creature, and this was my reward.”

The explanation works for the room, as all Saiyans understand taking loot from those conquered. And after seeing what they’ve had to have seen over the years, a sword that magically appears doesn’t rate very high after all. And now that you’re dressed, you make your way outside of the medical building, where a very familiar ally is waiting.

“Karn! You’re okay!” Aku shouts, leaning in. But once he sees the sword on your shoulder he recoils, instantly taking to the air and getting distance between you. His reaction confuses you for a moment, until you realize something. In Towa’s timeline Aku fought the Wolf Knight who wielded this sword. So this Aku probably fought him too, and recognizes the weapon. “W-Where did you find that?! Keep it away from me!!”
“Relax, Aku.” you say, planting the tip in the ground then thinking to him. “I was in another timeline, and saved another you. It had pinned you in place, and I pulled it free.”
“Ooooh, I see.” he says, returning to his normal form but still not getting too close. “Well then, I appreciate it. But I would ask you keep it from me or mine.”
“I understand.” you say, hefting it back onto your shoulder. “This sword will no longer be used against your people; now be used to help keep my people and planet safe.”

You talk with Aku for awhile longer, but then he excuses himself, muttering something about his daughter before flying off. This leaves you alone, but not without anything to do. After all, you only have a month before Hatchiyack’s arrival.

With Aku going his own way you do the same, returning to your ship. And fortunately for you, you’d spent so much time in the Healing Pod before going to Towa’s realm that it’s time to eat. Making your way to the Mess Hall, you find most of your family already there. The only ones missing are noticeably Chaya, and her friend and fellow gladiator Tanya. They must still be out fighting in the Dreadzone arena. But that doesn’t bother you, as your oldest daughter smart enough to look after herself when the time comes. But the younger ones, especially, won’t be much help in the coming battle. They would only end up getting hurt, or worse. And you can’t let that happen.

“Alright everyone, pop quiz.” you say, walking up to the table. “What do we do when the planet-wide alarm goes off?”
“Find Big Bro!” Caulifla shouts immediately, pointing at Chilli. The twins, Maz and Kayle shout the same thing, while Tatsu and Tomi both look to Broly. The older boys, for their part, look and make sure the younger siblings they’re responsible for are here.
“Good.” you say, nodding in approval. “And then what?”
“The we escort our younger siblings to Raven, and have her send us to the Hideout.”
“The Hideout?” you ask, wanting the others to elaborate. “And where is that?”
“That’s on Raxus Prime.” little Tatsu and Tomi say together, you nodding again in approval. “Where King Vegeta got the super-cool hideout set up!”
“Yeah, it’s awesome!” Chaya says, your daughter and her sidekick Tanya surprising you by walking in. The two of them are both a little banged up, Tanya’s uniform burned to a crisp on the left side. But both seem in high spirits, especially Tanya. The smell of fire and blood hangs heavily about her, as well as the awful nose-burning aftersmell of her firearms. “So, when are we going?”

“We were just going over the evacuation for when the next invasion happens.” you tell your eldest daughter, her and Tanya sitting and digging in as well. You start eating as well, your stomach rumbling and demanding food. “We have only about a month before the next fight begins.”
“Okay, I’ll be here.” Chaya says, then turns to her friend. “What about you?”
“No way.” she says, taking a dainty sip. Your daughter’s jaw drops, turning to her friend in shock. “Count me out.”
“What? WHY?!” Chaya shouts in surprise, nearly falling off of her seat. “What the hell, Tanya? Megu, you’ll help, right?”
“Of course!” Megumin says, standing on the table and striking a pose. “I am Megumin! Finest arch-wizard of the Crimson Demons, and master of Explosion magic!”
“See? Megu’s gonna help!” Chaya says, turning to Tanya accusingly. “Why won’t you?”

“To make a long story short, it’s not my fight.” Tanya says. “I’ll go with your civilians, and help protect them at the Hideout your King has provided. But standing headfirst against yet another invasion? And one I’m not getting paid for? Sorry, but no.”
“That’s not fair.” Broly says calmly, both your daughter and Tanya turning to him. “If you’re not gonna help us, you can leave and never come back.”
“Woah, Broly! Not cool!” Chaya says, waving her arms at him wildly. “Just ‘cause she doesn’t want to help doesn’t mean she has to leave!”
“Chaya’s right, son.” you say, everyone turning to you. “If she doesn’t want to fight, she doesn’t have to. But Tanya, I think it’s only fair you know what the coming battle will entail. I’m sure you saw footage of our battle against the Covenant, right?”

“Of course.” she says, after taking another sip. “The entire universe saw wha-!”
“Exactly.” you say, as understanding clearly dawns on her face. “We’ve known about this upcoming battle for awhile, just like that one. So Vox has his cameras set up everywhere, ready to catch every second of this battle. So if you want to leave with the civilians, feel free.”
“You-!!” she says angrily, you smirking at her frustration. She then sighs out in defeat, setting the cup down on the table and closing her eyes. Taking a sharp breath, she turns back to you, eyes wild and wolfish grin wide. “You’re a far more clever man than I’d given you credit for. Mark my words, General Karn, this the last time I’ll ever underestimate you!”

“Do you really mean it?” Chaya asks her, oblivious to the implications from your exchange with the young soldier-turned-gladiator. “You’re really gonna help?”
“It seems I will be.” Tanya says, pushing herself up from the table, turning to you, and saluting. “If you will excuse me, General, it seems I have some urgent preparations to make.”
“Of course.” you say, letting her walk right out the door as you go back to eating.
“Clever play, Karn.” Bane says, the ancient Sith whispering into your mind. “But that thing is a coward at heart. Are you sure you want to place your family’s lives in her hands?”
“Of course.” you reply back mentally, as your mouth is occupied with eating. “She can be. But she, and all the other celebrity gladiators have images to protect. And running away from this battle would spell the end of her career. She has no choice but to fight.”

“You’re not wrong.” he says after a moment. Then, almost as an afterthought adds, “But I’d watch my back if I were you. She’ll stick a knife in it the moment it becomes better for her to do so than not.”
“Speaking from experience, huh?” you ask, but Bane’s already gone. He always has to have the last word. But the rest of your meal goes smoothly, everyone rushing off either to bed or to get one more bit of training in. You decide to forgo your usual evening training, and check up on King Vegeta. After all, with only a month left, if anything else needs done now’s the time to do it. So you leave your ship behind, walking down the ramp then taking to the air. You fly the short distance from your ship to the palace, touching down by the front doors. You nod to the Royal Guard posted outside, walking in and making your way towards the King’s large powerlevel. He’s not down in the underground training room like usual, the king’s power actually coming from another room. So you walk towards the large door, placing one hand on it and pushing it open. The door groan while sliding across the floor, Vegeta turning to you.

“Ah, hey Karn.” Vegeta says, several displays pulled up before him. He seems tired, head resting on his right hand. “Something wrong?”
“Just checking on you.” you say, walking up to his seat. “Gotta make sure one of our strongest fighters is ready for this battle. And that includes getting enough rest, Vegeta.”
“I don’t have time to rest, there’s still so much to-“ he says, before you grab his shoulder. “Karn?”
“Vegeta. Rest.” you tell him seriously. “You won’t do us any good if you’re too tired to think. Get you some rest.”
“But-“ he says, you interrupting him.
“No. You’re getting rest, my king.” you say, sending a quick telepathic message to Emilia. She drops down silently from somewhere above, striking him on the back of the neck and knocking him out. The small girl hefts Vegeta onto her shoulder, two Royal Guards accompanying her as she takes him further in towards his room. You turn to leave as well, leaving his palace and returning to your ship. You and Meloka shower together then go to bed. You fall asleep quickly, your rest deep and peaceful. Several hours later you wake up, still in the same position, Meloka held in your arms. You sigh out in contentment, enjoying this moment of peace.

Well?

Everything’s quiet, you think to yourself. Too quiet. You actually get a little nervous, as everything seems fine. But you still suspect something’s wrong. So you go to sneak out of bed, using your limited telekinesis you lift Meloka’s entire body slightly, just enough to slip your right arm out from under her. Now free you slip silently out of bed, pulling your pants on before slipping out of the room. The door slides open and shut almost silently, you looking up and down the hall. Unsurprisingly it’s empty, none of your crew would be up yet. So why are you so uneasy?

“Must be getting paranoid.” you mutter, casually walking towards the bridge. As you’d done when you couldn’t sleep, worrying about the coming battle, you would pull up the star maps and watch the approaching planetoid making it’s way closer. Hatchiyack is there, and coming to you. It comforts you, able to see just how much longer you have before it arrives. Without wearing your boots, your bare feet make virtually no noise on the ship’s floor, making your way to the bridge. The door slides open, revealing an odd sight. The display shows the star maps already up, but as you watch Hatchiyak’s approaching planetoid seems to be getting further and further away.

“Let him be complacent.” an all-too familiar mechanical voice says from the center chair, facing away from you. You sneak closer, taking care to avoid making any noise as you creep closer. Closing in, you realize that whoever’s in the chair is not only connected to your ship, but seems to be accessing systems all over the planet. “Stupid monkeys, they aren’t even aware how close their doom comes. Soon, they shall all be destroyed by-Wha?!”

But you interrupt the speaker, grabbing the chair and turning it around, coming face-to-face with an unexpected surprise.

“Nefarious?” you say, caught surprisingly off-guard. The robotic, decapitated head of Dr. Nefarious is sitting in the chair, cables connecting itself to your ship’s computer systems. “You, you’re still alive?”
“Damn you monkey!” he says, several screens starting to light up red. You’re not sure what he’s trying to do, but there’s an easy way to stop it. Reaching down you grab Nefarious’s metal skull in one hand and the cables in the other, tearing the skull free of your ship. “You thought you were clever, weren’t you?”
“It’s too late, fool.” Nefarious taunts. “I have been observing you and your pitiful efforts, but all your work is for naught! Everything you can do has been sent to Hatchiyack’s processor. There is nothing you can do now, you and your entire race are doomed! You shall all die! Muuhahahahahaa!”
“You first.” you say, crushing his oblong head in your hand. Dammit, this makes everything so much more complicated.

Ah... it hurts, just the idea. Karn is such a good guy, his whole life he's done nothing but sacrifice himself for his friends and family. Who would betray him? Why would they do it? What could possibly be worth it?

It was probably one of those chucklefucks from a conquered PTO planet trying to incite a rebellion.

Well I dunno if Chaya and Memugirl die then she's pretty much fast tracked to the big dog of the dreadzone. Also eliminating the majority of Frieza's fighting forces lets her and her world seem all the more essential to his empire.

It's a classic triple power play.

I got an idea.
Since Hatchiyak basically knows everything about Karn and how he fights now, how do we prepare for that?
Simple, we go to the other pseudo-organic mutant who knows all our moves and strategies; Perfect Cell.
He can totally help us shore up our weaknesses and give us a few new tricks up our sleeves.
Hell, if we can disguise him he can join in the fight without the Time Patrol interfering.
Another thing we need to do is teach a Saiyan the basics of the Hamon and tell them to stick with Ubo. I think that one girl who managed to go Super Saiyan isn't a bad idea for that spot.
Also we need to start carrying some of that healing goo on us Clone Trooper style. Maybe we should get a utility belt...
>>
>>3871516
Next time we encounter the time patrol, we aught to stun lock them so we can steal their healing capsules. Those things are OP.

The answer was in Karn all along.
Bane. The vast intricacies of Bane’s knowledge only exist within Karn. To draw deeper from his well of knowledge, to delve further into the arts of the Force, that is the path to power and success.
Besides, it was high time he learned more tricks from the Dark Side anyways.

Me too anon, me too. I suppose people though that getting a way to heal that has a near-perfect sinergy with our class fighting style, techniques, stats and... pretty much everything that Karn does while fighting, wasn't worth it (remember that Karn mauled half the TP before running our of fuel/health. Now imagine that every time he hits something alive, he gets a nice healing).
>>
>>3871729
>>3871896
I wouldn't worry too much about it, my friends.
There's an extremely similar Sith ability called Force Drain. Considering how it's drawn from the 'DARK' side of the force, and what it does, it may very well be the same thing and thus achievable through a different avenue.
Or we could just ask our Aku to teach us lifedrain lmao.
>>
you know what we need?

a sword big enough to use in great ape form.

>>
>>3871953

i never said emerald, we could just do golden.
>>
>>3871918
Vegeta's been working on his golden great ape, right? We need to sharpen a covenant ship for him to use as a sword.
>>
>>3871957
Why not help him train in his Golden Ape form so he doesn't drain himself too much in that form? Kind of like how Karn can practically maintain super sayian 1 near indefinitely, except for Vegeta it'll be for the duration of the power ball?
>>
Idle ponderings: we should have a technical computer savant take a look at our ship's computer and see exactly Nefarious had manipulated, changed, broke, corrupted, etc. We also need to make sure he didn't make any duplicate A.I. versions of himself and on the chance that he has we need to brick them.
Now I'm not saying that these probably happened, but it's something worth asking more tech smarter than Karn himself, right? They could certainly determine if that would be possible or not.
>>
>>3871956
Sorry pal, but Karn is a Legendary sayan, which means that all of his forms have the legendary mutation too.

Cell wasn’t programmed with knowledge of your moves. He came from a timeline far closer to canon.
> Another thing we need to do is teach a Saiyan the basics of the Hamon and tell them to stick with Ubo.
With the time left, that wouldn’t help. And with how weak a mortal’s Hamon is, the bonus to Ubo would be insignificant compared to say Perfect Kars.

I'm not actually worried about her choosing to do it. I'm worried about her being ordered to do it by her superiors. There's always some idiot above you with big aspirations.

As for Scarlet she's only there to get at Chaya. If Chaya was out of the picture there's the chance she would just bail. Or commit the sudoku. Depends on how manic she is.
>>

>Well, you did just get an ancient sword that’s magically attuned to you...
Oh I didn't realize it did that, but I guess it's obvious it would also work like our wedding ring.

I've never cared for Dragon Ball at all (heresy, I know) and so I've spend months hiding and skipping over this quest whenever I saw it on the board. But a few weeks ago I took the time to read a few posts and something (won't say what it was) piqued my interest and I went back to the first thread on suptg to have a cursory glance to see what it was all about and just kept on reading. Now weeks later I have finished the archives and although I know nothing about the DBU beyond this quest and so don't feel qualified to actually weigh in on choices, I'll keep on lurking to watch how it goes.

You should feel very proud of yourself GDQM, since even the monoliths you wrote out in the early threads managed to hook someone who wasn't even interested in the source material at all and usually has no idea what is going on but doesn't care because it and you are awesome, which stand as testament to your storytelling and writing. You better not stop any time soon, since I'm already sad enough i ran out of archive material.

Kinda disappointed the BOI might not be available for duffing up any more though (inb4 >he might be).
>>
>>3874400
>>3874405
They didn’t mess with that. I will say, however, they were on a planet you’ve been to before: Shaar.
>>3874951
Well this is one of the best endorsements I’ve gotten. Glad you decided to give my quest a chance, and even moreso that you’ve enjoyed it. And don’t worry, I’ll keep writing as long as this is fun. But there is one thing I want to stress to you, and all the other lurkers out there: don’t feel like you can’t vote because you don’t know one, some, or even most of the source materials.
>>
>>3875233
All right, I'll give it a go. I'm just a bit concerned with unwittingly doing something stupid because I don't have pre-knowledge of who or what we're dealing with.

Still, canon is shot to hell anyway so it matters little I guess. And it makes for good IC, no?
>>
>>3875233
Can we learn how to make spirit bombs where we can gather the surrounding spiritual energies to throw a fuck off huge bomb at someone? Can we also learn how to absorb energy attacks like those androids in the Perfect Cell ark?
>>
>>3876220
Spirit Bomb type shit would be more up Meloka's alley, dude, she's the one with massive energy control. If we got Bane to teach us Force Drain, we could probably pull off absorbing energy attacks though.
>>
>>3875812
Yes it does. And since you’ve read the archive, you’ll already have a good grasp on how Karn’ll react to different things. Most important though is that you have fun.
>>3876220
>Spirit Bomb
Not quite, although with New Salda’s help you may be able to pull off something similar. As for absorbing energy, Androids 19 and 20 had specialized equipment for that. It may be possible for you to do so eventually, but would be exceedingly difficult to learn.
>>
Also a random misc query that's been nagging me more than it should since reading episode 10. Then, you said you didn't expect players to choose to waifu Meloka. Out of interest, did you have a specific cast member lined up to be an expected LI or were you going to roll with a few other options, just not her at the time?

I think it was more that they were worried Meloka would snap and we'd come home to find out she'd murdered her harem sisters.

Hell, Towa has done so much for us, and even know Towa and Meloka constantly compete against each other, with a resting but strong feeling of dislike.
>>
>>3876964
Honestly, I think Towa and Meloka have settled a lot, particularly when you look at how they reacted to the Abyss incident. They didn't care about eachother, they just wanted to make sure Karn was safe.
>>
>>3876964
Better that than a brawl, though I doubt we have heard the last of this issue. I don't want to think what would have happened if we hadn't got that 100, or even worse crit failed (perhaps GDQM can enlighten us, for curiosity's sake?).

Although it got me thinking, and I don't like what I've realised. The network of close relationships we've built is all well and good, but by this point it seems everybody is acting as an emotional crutch for everyone else. It could backfire badly if we lose a prominent character and the entire cast collapses in some kind of cascading mental failure as people lose their emotional support and follow their friends into a mental bluescreen or go over the edge in the style of the famed "despair spiral" of Dorf Fortress. Of course the solution to this is to not lose anyone, but the dice (and anons) may have other ideas.....

What would the mental traits of Buu (Karn-Absorbed) be like? Would Meloka-absorbed be fanatically obsessed with absorbing Karn to join with him forever?

Stop i can only get so erect

>Buu (Karn absorbed)
>instantly murders people and doesn't toy with them
>kidnaps children
>probably ends up eating said children in fits of rage too
Genuinely horrifying.

>"-WAIT NO DON'T-where am I?"
>"Aw hell, he got you too Chilli?"
>"Dad? What are you doing here?"
>"Fucking wad of gum ate me when I tried adopting it."
>"Dad. We talked about this!"
>"IT WORKED WITH EVERYONE ELSE! How'd it even get the drop on you anyhow?"
>"It looked really similar to you!"
>"Son, it's fucking bright pink and wearing a diaper."
>"We just kinda stopped questioning how weird your transformations were getting a while back."
>"Weird? Since when?"
>"Since you became 9 feet tall and started shooting lightning."

Would Karn fucking Buu (as Meloka-Absorbed) actually turn out better or worse overall?
>>
>>3878458
>>3878099
This, i'm gonna need a short description of how Buu(Karn Absorbed) behaves, because it's hyping me the fuck out and i kind of hope it happens someday and we get to resolve the issue while playing as someone else, like chili or meloka.

Also i want to know if THE BOY has seen a universe where Buu(Karn Absorbed) exists, and how hard he shit his pants watching that particular scroll.

>buu absorbs meloka while karn is busy with multiple buu clones
>meloka's intensely powerful psycho personality immediately overwhelms buu, erasing almost all other traits from other people he'd absorbed
>he begins screaming, holding his head as it explodes with pain from trying to contain her yandere psychosis
>he fails
>his body melts and collapses into a ball of undulating pink gum which spurts steam at random as he reforms
>his body rapidly takes a new shape, and it's basically a lookalike of pic related with a monkey tail
>buu holds his shaking hands up, looking over his new body in shock for a moment
>suddenly an image flashes through his mind, an image of a man he's never met, but one who feels intensely familiar
>he drops everything and immediately rushes off to find this man
>buu stops as he comes face to face with karn
>all thoughts of candy are utterly forgotten, buu wants to "eat up" the person in front of him
>karn turns to look at buu
>his eyes widen as immediately recognizes buu's new body
>karn's vision goes white with rage as he simply lets go of his own consciousness, not even attempting to hold himself back
>memories of meloka flash through his fading mind as indescribable rage, sadness and frustration overwhelm him
>outside, buu watches as the man's stares at him with a blank look in his eyes and his mouth slightly ajar
>his ki slowly spreads out around him, looking more like the calm flickering of a bonfire than the raging furnace of power it usually is
>he may look calm and his body may have gone limp, but his energy is absolutely, shockingly enormous and only continues to build
>suddenly, karn tenses and buu's vision goes white as well, with nothing but a sharp ringing in his ears as he feels himself torn apart and cast aside by an explosive wind like he's never felt before
>cue legendary primal transformation

Hey man just go to the gym. I'm sure you'll find one. Unless you're a biglad like some of us. Too tall, heavy, and sturdy to actually get proper bullied. Manlets have all the fun. And less back pain.

>tfw even though meloka is pint sized she could still break karn over her knee if she tried hard enough

QM UPDATE

Unfortunately the epilogue isn’t finished, and I need to get sleep before starting the next thread. Sorry guys, but hopefully this coming epilogue will make up for it. It’s gonna be a wild ride.

Combine Karn’s instincts with Buu’s insatiable appetite, and the universe is doomed. And yes, the boy has seen such a monster before.
>>3878482
He would easily destroy every planet he steps onto.
>>3878503
Karn would die. One way or another.
>>3878674
Absorbing Meloka would be really painful. For you.

on a scale of 1 to 10 how scared was he of facing such a thing? have there been any pqs based on such a event?

>the boy
Hey, we don't call him that anymore. He's proven he has a spine and a set of balls. Next thing he needs to do is wish for a tail.

>just go to the gym
anon, I... I... fell for the homegym meme long ago
I'm getting back into the routine of lifting, but all I have are the bread and butter compound barbell lifts with my power cage and some accessories with my adjustable dumbbells. I know that's pretty much all I need but I miss my meme exercise machines and the possibility of social interaction.
I'm so bored.

I'm pretty sure our timeline is off-limits to other Towa's at this point, especially after all the recent nonsense.
That said, I can see him hooking up with a certain Tamaranean casually. If our boy isn't a player I will be sorely disappointed.
