/qst/ - Quests

Seventeen years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza’s army. Since that fateful day, the Saiyans have more than earned their title of warrior race. After the now-legendary Siege of New Salda broke the might of the Covenant’s empire, no other empire has dared to openly challenge the PTO’s military superiority, or the mighty Saiyans in battle. Entire systems have surrendered without a fight, thanks in part to the battle being spread far and wide through the Vox media empire. But how long can the might of the Saiyans remain unchallenged?

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, currently Age 748. You the players control Karn, a Saiyan with a last-recorded powerlevel of 15,118,200, a general in Lord Freeza’s army, husband and mate to Meloka, father of many, champion of New Salda, wielder of the Stand Dragon Force, and as “The Dragon of New Salda” you are the unbroken symbol of the PTO’s might across the stars. The Saiyan race has enjoyed an unprecedented time of peace, but it seems that peace may be coming to an end.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After Karn found Nefarious’s mechanical head plugged into your ship’s computer, he smashed the mechanical skull then called his ship’s entire crew in. After telling them all and King Vegeta as well what happened, Karn went to get a scabbard crafted for his great sword. At the armorers he encountered a force-wielding Sith powerful enough to make Bane’s spirit take notice, but after Karn quit holding back and Meloka arrived, the Sith teleporting away like a coward. Afterwards he returned to the armorer’s shop, getting a model of his sword made to allow a fitting scabbard to get made. Karn then learned the PTO techs were making zero progress, transcending his limits and using Instant Transmission across the vastness of space to visit with one man who could help. But as we rejoin Karn, Arctus has helped you come to a shocking revelation: Nefarious had help. There is a traitor on New Salda!

“Woah woah, calm down Karn.” Arctus says, keeping you from trying to teleport away. “Think this through.”
“Think what through?” you say, furious. “I have to get back there an-!”
“And what?” he asks you. “And how would you find the traitor? Just ask everyone on your crew, ‘hey are you a traitor?’ Think for a minute Karn. The traitor doesn’t yet know you’re aware. We can use that. But if you start talking about a traitor, they’re gonna shut up and not give away anything. Whoever your traitor is, they’ll be hard to find, but we just might be able to catch them. What do you say?”
“Alright.” you say, sighing out then clasping forearms with Arctus. “Let’s do this. Let’s get this bastard!”
“Just be careful.” Arctus says, placing his left hand on your left shoulder. “I’ll try and find your rat through the network, but be careful if you confront him alone. He’d have nothing to lose, and would give his life to damage you and your family.”
“Hang on, this may take a moment.” you say, putting your right fingertips again to your forehead. Focusing your mind, you reach out telepathically to Meloka. “Hey hun, can you transform up for me? I’m coming back with Arctus, but I need a strong enough power to read.”

“Sure, one moment.” she thinks back, and suddenly you feel her strength surging. Unlike with Arctus, her strength radiates much more powerfully through the link. Focusing on her ki, you find it much easier to synchronize with your wife’s power and after several seconds your mind finally focuses correctly, your Instant Transmission bringing you home.

>>3890220
“Hey hun, you made it. Hey Arctus, how-Karn?!” Meloka says, transforming back down from Super Saiyan 3 to her base as you both suddenly appear before her. But you drop to a knee, right hand clutching at your head as your brain aches. Using Instant Transmission like that twice in a row, despite the second time being much easier, still wasn’t easy. Your head aches nearly as painfully as the first time you’d used your Guided Eye Beams on Trunks, but despite that you remain standing. You’ve been through much, much worse since then, a little headache won’t stop you.
“I’m fine, I’m fine.” you say, closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. “Just really hard to go that far.”

“I’ll leave you two alone, Vegeta’s at your ship right?” Arctus asks, you nodding to him. “Alright, I’ll get started. Just remember what I said Karn. Be careful, and trust no one.”
“Right, good luck.” you say to him, Arctus blasting off. But Meloka’s looking towards you, not understanding the last of your exchange.
“Should I even ask?” she asks, you pondering her questa moment.

How much should you tell her?
>Tell her what you and Arctus realized, that there is a traitor in your midst
>Tell her telepathically what Arctus realized about Nefarious having inside help
>Don’t tell her, at least not yet. The less people know, the better
>Let her know you and Arctus are working on something, but don’t get into specifics.

Looks like the very long write in wins it. Writing.
The -reason- I limit choices in the way I do is for pacing, and let’s me get updates out in a timely manner. With all this write in, it’ll be at least two hours before the next post is up
>>
>>3890264
sorry, i don't mean to hurt you this way
it *is* the best course of action, though
most of us have a bunch of shit to do on the weekends anyways, so don't worry too much about pacing
>>
>>3890264
Do you know king/queen of hearts?
He's done a bunch of great quests, and he adopted a different style of QMing due to how busy he was.

He literally just updates throughout the week, whenever he can get to it.
The threads are kind of slow, but still get plenty of interaction since anons have all week to check the thread and post replies.
>>
>>3890264
Sorry GD, got to cover all our bases. It'll make this update longer, but we would've voted to do all those things eventually anyways. Just consider it us getting them all out of the way first.
>>
>>3890283
>we would've voted to do all those things eventually anyways
more likely we would have wanted to, but gotten sidetracked and ended up never doing it.
Happens all the time.

“It’s not good news.” you say out loud with a sigh. “We’ve got a problem Meloka. A big one.”
“What’s going on?” she asks, concern growing on her face. “Karn?”
“I can’t say.” you tell her out loud, then telepathically continue. “We have to keep this absolutely silent. Lives are on the line.”
“Karn?” she asks, now communicating telepathically as well.
“Hold on a moment. Raven, are you listening too?” you think out, the Guardian of New Salda replying instantly.
“I’m here.” she thinks back to you. “What do you need?”
“We have a serious problem. Dr. Nefarious has hacked into our network.” you tell them. By her facial expression Meloka is not surprised, having probably overheard the speech you gave to your men. “But that’s not all. He got in by that old head, but he couldn’t have done it alone. Someone, with access to the ship’s bridge had to have helped him.”
“Wait, you mean-?” Meloka starts, realizing it.
“No...” Raven says, understanding dawning as well.
“Yes. We have a traitor.” you say, feeling a sudden surge of rage from your wife. Laying a hand on her shoulder, you continue. “Right now, only the three of us and Arctus are aware of this. Hopefully, whoever this traitor is doesn’t yet know we’re aware.”

“I’ll kill him!” Meloka snarls, no longer speaking telepathically as her golden aura flares up around her. “I’ll kill this bastard!”
“We’ll get him. But we have to be careful.” you say telepathically, wrapping your wife in your arms. “When I caught Nefarious, he tried to make the ship self-destruct before I crushed him. Whoever this traitor is, they know if they’re caught, they won’t survive. So they’ll be desperate. We have to be careful, or the kids could be in danger.”
“They wouldn’t!” Raven says, you quickly rebuking her.
“While my family slept, they tried to destroy my ship and everyone on it.” you say, Meloka trembling in your arms. “So I’ll need your help Raven. Your empath abilities could be crucial in finding out our traitor. Are you in?”
“I’ll help.” she replies without hesitation. “Just let me know when you need me, and I will be there.”
“Thank you Raven.” you reply, retracting your mind and turning your focus on your wife, who’s still trembling with barely-restrained rage.

“Dammit.” she mutters, lightly pounding your chest with a fist in frustration. “Dammit dammit dammit.”
“Shh, it’s okay hun.” you say, lifting her up so her head is level with yours and embracing her. “We’re gonna get them for this. We won’t let them get away with trying to hurt our family.”
“I wasn’t useful at all.” she says, and the dam bursts. Your wife begins sobbing into your chest, you just holding her as she bawls. With the two of you being out of the way in the forest, no one shows up to saying anything. “We were all in danger, and I wasn’t even aware of it! Dammit!”
“If I hadn’t just woken up and decided to walk around, I wouldn’t have known either.” you say, trying to comfort her. But while you comfort her, you also reach out to the Sith spirit, Darth Bane.

“Hey Bane, enough napping.” you think to the specter, Bane appearing beside you. “Up and at’em.”
“You do know I don’t actually sleep, right?” the spirit asks flatly as he appears. “So, your first traitor has appeared. And how will you handle this, I wonder?”
“Simple. I’ll find out who it is, and kill them before they cause any more damage.” you say, Bane nodding in approval. But I’m going to need your help. You can move around without anyone seeing you, I need you to find out everything you can of them. I need to find out who thinks they can get away with this, and crush them!”
“Of course.” Bane says, then after a moment’s pause continues. “But simply spying isn’t all I can do.”
“What do you mean?” you ask, Bane continuing.
“Much as I can speak to you, I can peer into the minds of others.” Bane says, you wondering why he’d never told you this before? “With this I can search their minds, and see what I can find.”
“Alright, do it.” you say without hesitation, the Sith grinning cruelly.
“As you wish.” he says, vanishing. A moment later Meloka pulls her head from your chest, finally regaining her composure.

“S-Sorry hun.” she says, wiping her eyes with a hand. “I didn’t mean to fall apart on you like that.”
“It’s alright Meloka.” you say, smiling to your wife and squeezing her close for a moment. “You all better now?”
“I’ll be better when the traitor lays dead at my feet.” she says. “Alright, what do we do first?”

With Ravens reactions I fear it might be her truth be told. She fits the moto of protect family over everything else. Plus this follows alot of the betrayer cliches. Trusted person we think can get info. Basically family. Cares deeply for us. And the classic "They wouldn't" line
>>
>>3890980

It could very well be one of Karn's most trusted friends/family who are being threatened or who are convinced that doing this is a good thing.

It might also be some random dude who flies underneath everyone's radar because he or she is so ordinary that nobody seems to notice them.

You absolute buffoon. It's the first character in the quest. Karn is the traitor. Again. Woooooo~

Right now, we’ve got to act normal.” you tell her, then add telepathically. “I brought Arctus to work on getting out ship’s systems back, and Bane searching the crew. For now, we need to get back to training.”
“Training? Really?” she asks, a note of heat to her voice. “You want me to act like nothing’s wrong, after telling me all that?! How?!!”
“We can’t let them know that we know hun.” you say seriously. “If this traitor catches wind that-“
“I know! I-I know, I just... GRRAAAAA!!” she shouts, transforming back up to Super Saiyan 3 in frustration . “I feel so damn useless!”
“You’re not useless hun. You’re the most skilled ki user I’ve ever seen.” you say, Meloka considering what you say a moment before taking her fighting stance.
“C’mon, I need to blow off some steam.” she says, you nodding to her and sticking the sword point-first in the ground, transforming as well. To more closely match her power you take your Berserker form, your wife still just having the slight edge over you in power. “You ready?”

“Ready.” you reply, taking your stance as well. But no sooner do you do so than she charges, swinging hard for your head. You block her right with your left forearm, following up with a right jab. She Su Ma spins outside your fist, landing a solid left kick to your right temple. Using the momentum you spin, swinging a left backhand at her. But your wife is faster than your large form, flipping back and under your large arm. You follow up, closing in with a ki-clad right fist and punching for her gut. But before your attack can hit, she lifts her left hand, a large stone raising up from the ground and intercepting your strike. Your hit blasts and shatters the boulder, sending shrapnel flying, but Meloka didn’t wait around to get hit. “Huh?”
“Gotcha!” she shouts from above, you seeing her holding a sizable ball of ki. “HAAA!!”

Bracing yourself, you guard yourself against the attack. But this doesn’t go as you expect. As the large sphere get closer it comes apart, revealing that it’s not a single blast, but more than a dozen differently-sized cutting discs! Less than a dozen feet from you it comes apart, Meloka shouting down.

“What do you think of my Cutter Ball?” she asks, the attack forcing you to leap back to avoid getting sliced. The discs don’t pursue you, slicing into the ground before disappearing. “Pretty convincing, huh?”
“That’s impressive.” you reply, gathering your own ki as your green aura flares wildly. “What else you got?”
cont
>>
>>3891369
“Let’s try this one!” she shouts, quickly gathering a massive ball of ki overhead. You begin to feel slightly nervous, if that blast hits the planet it could destroy New Salda. But as you watch, the blast surprisingly begins shrinking, but the power behind it keeps increasing! When the attack is no larger than her palm she shouts, tossing it. “Hyaa!!”

“Gah?!” you shout out in surprise, having not seen the attack coming. Looking down, you see the ball is already in your gut, it moving so fast you couldn’t track it. But before you can react further it blows up in your face, everything disappearing in the fiery blast. Coughing on the smoke, you sweep it aside with a broad sweep of your hand, looking up to your wife and seeing what she’s got next. You see she has more than a dozen power-packed balls of ki floating around her. “What the hell?”
“I haven’t thought of a name for it yet, but what do you think of that one?” she asks you. “I can throw it faster than even I can see. Only downside is the blast isn’t that powerful, but hitting a faster opponent could be useful.”

“No kidding, I didn’t even see it coming.” you say, tossing the burned ruins of your destroyed torso armor on the ground. It’s been awhile since you and Meloka really sparred, this could get interesting.

“Alright, my turn!” you say, flaring your aura as you begin gathering your ki. After a second of concentration you conjure your Super Ki Blade, flourishing it before taking your Djem So stance. “You ready?”
“Bring it on!” she says, gathering her ki into her palms. “I’m ready!”
“HRRAAA!!” you shout, leaping off the ground at her.
“Hellflower Barrage!” she shouts, tossing two energy balls down at you, then following it up with another two. You don’t change course, charging forward with the intent to swat her attacks aside. Unfortunately, that’s not what happens. As you get close, the first two golden balls of ki glow red, exploding in a burst of Ki Needles.
“Shit!” you shout, trying to shield yourself with your wide blade. But it only blocks a dozen or so needles, another dozen sticking into your arms and legs a second before they explode as well. The explosions burn, sending you backwards for several yards before you can stop yourself. “Damn, that’s a new one.”

“Like it?” she asks, tossing another half-dozen golden ki balls that hover in the air between the two of you. “I call this my Hellflower Garden.”
“I’m impressed.” you say, unable to deny how much damage her attack is capable of. If you didn’t guard your face and chest, you could have been out of this fight already. Her attack is devastating, and your skillset isn’t suited to efficiently countering it. But that said, you’re not just going to give up. Focusing your ki into your blade, you charge once more, swinging and unleashing a half-dozen Death Slashes towards the minefield. “But I’m not losing that easy!”

Your Death Slashes detonate the attacks at range, causing the Needles to dissipate before you reach them. Charging headlong through the explosions, you pass through the smoke only to see Meloka holding a pair of large pink saucers.

“HAAA! HAAAAA!!” she shouts, tossing the Death Saucers at you. But again you don’t back down, swinging your Super Ki Blade into the cutting disc. Your sword slows the spinning blade, but to your astonishment her attack begins cutting through your sword! What the hell?
“No way.” you mutter, her disc cutting halfway through your sword in a second. But the second disc is still coming, and you’re still struggling with the first one. As it closes in you see your chance, tossing your blade and the Death Saucer up at the second one. “HAAA!!”

With a shout you toss an Energy Javelin up after your blade, it piercing through the flats of the two discs. As it explodes, destroying your sword along with her discs, the blast obscures your vision of your wife. Yet your charge continues, you roaring as you emerge a dozen or so feet from her.

“GOTCHA!!” you shout, seeing your wife holding her dual Ki Blades as the smaller orbs continue orbiting her. As you close in, four of them fire Death Beams right for you. And that’s when you strike!

As her floating orbs’ attacks close in, you leave a trace of ki behind as an Afterimage as you try to dash around behind her. But as you do, her orbs continue to track you, firing the remainder of their beams and forcing you to keep on the move. Dammit. You were hoping to get a better position, but with her Warding Eyes watching you, you were unable to sneak behind her. Damn, that’s a useful technique.

“Nice try!” she shouts, spinning and swinging another new attack at you. At first you think it’s a blade, but the way it moves the attack seems like a rope. You narrowly dodge the whip of energy, it passing mere inches before your face. “But you’re too predictable hun! Haa!”
“Woah!” you shout, the whip lengthening as it flies at you again. Unable to dodge in time you’re forced to block, but instead of exploding against you the whip wraps around and binds your forearms together. “Wait, what?”
“Gotcha.” she says with a smirk, you watching as the energy whip begins to grow, wrapping its way further and further down your arms. Yeah, no.
“HRRRAAAAA!!” you roar, tearing your arms free. Her ki may be stronger than yours, but in this form your physical power can’t be beat. “Not bad hun, you’ve certainly been busy. How many new techniques have you been working on?”

“Hehe, come on over and find out.” she says, smirking and re-taking her stance as her golden aura flares up. Lightning dances around her body as you take your stance as well, both of you raising your power. “I’ve got all sorts of new tricks now, I’m not gonna lose!”

“Oh yeah?” you taunt playfully, cracking your knuckles and neck. A second later you dash right at her, but Meloka’s ready. “Let’s kick this up a notch!”
“Hyaaa!” she shouts, firing a massive wave of ki. It’s not enough to hurt you, the wave meant to slow you down. But you charge right through it, Meloka’s eyes widening in surprise. Without time to evade she’s forced to block, fist slamming into her crossed arms. You hit with more force than she was ready for, nearly breaking her guard with a single strike. “Kyaah?!”
“Gotcha.” you say, following up your attack with a quick left jab. However after the first hit she adjusted herself, blocking your next dozen punches. But you see your chance, using your Djem So technique to make an opening. You launch an uppercut with your right, but instead of aiming for her gut you catch the undersides of her arms. The force of your unexpected strike knocks her arms up over her head, leaving her wide open.

“Wha-?!” she says, but before she can recover you spin, slamming your left elbow square into her gut. Whatever she was saying is lost, your strike winding her.
“Wide open!” you taunt her teasingly, landing a dozen solid blows before she regains her breath and blows you away with an Explosive Wave. Or, at least, she tries to. You manage to withstand her blast without getting blown away, taking advantage of her shock to land another hard blow. Your large forearm slams into her, this time your attack sends her flying. Your wife is sent crashing down to the ground hard, you slowly descending after her. “Come on Meloka, you gonna let me win that easily?”

But as the dust settles, the small crater clearing out, you see that she’s gone!

“Huh? Meloka?” you ask, when your instincts suddenly warn you. Without looking you spin, left forearm slamming into Meloka’s. “Tryin’ to sneak up on me, huh?”
“You tried it first!” she fires back, spinning around your arm and aiming a left kick at your right temple. Lifting your right arm you block it with your forearm, Meloka continuing the spin and following her attack up with a right axe kick aimed at the top of your head. “HAAAA-huh?”
“Gotcha.” you say, catching her leg and with a spin you send her flying once more. Meloka flips backwards several times, landing on all fours and sliding to a stop as you retake your stance. “Su Ma won’t work on me now. You’ll have to try something else.”
“Oh, I will.” she says, golden aura flaring violently around her. “I’ve been waiting on a chance to test this one out!”

“Well then let’s see how well you can use it in a fight!!” you shout, again dashing headlong at her. It seems, however, that Meloka was ready for this. Your wife knows you too well, swinging both arms and sending several dozen of her Ki Needles flying at you in a wide area. But instead of backing off, dodging the attack you stomp hard on the ground, kicking up a large stone partially buried. Her Needles that would have hit you all slam into the boulder, you knocking it aside and continue your charge. “Too slow! HAAAA!”
“Gah!”” she shouts in a panic, Su Ma spinning outside and past your strike. You follow up with a spinning backfist of your own, but to your surprise hit nothing but air. Instead of using the regular Su Ma counterattack, she leaped up into the air to get her distance. “This time! RRRAAAAAA!!!”

You watch as once more her golden aura flares out wildly as lightning dancing angrily along her body. With her arms thrown wide, ki gathered in her palms, you know what’s coming next. But there’s no way, she wouldn’t actually shoot a Final Flash at the planet. Would she?

“HRRRAAAAA!” she shouts, slamming both of her palms together. The energies begins blending together, power swelling.
“Uhhh, Meloka?” you ask, hesitating. “You sure you want to fire that at the planet?”
“Of course!” she shouts through gritted teeth, hands moving to the sides of the rapidly growing mass of ki and pressing it tightly together. You watch in shock as she compresses the powerful ki between her hands, palms almost touching. Then with a twist of her palms, she unleashes hell. “BLADESTORM!!”

And suddenly, you’re staring down what looks like a million blades of ki raining down. This is gonna hurt.

Meloka seems to be a big fan of cutting things.
She’s gonna HATE Buu.
>>
>>3892412
Speaking of Buu got me thinking.
Imagine what Buu, a naturally magic entity, could do if it absorbed Raven, Megumin, and Chilli.
Thankfully I don’t think it could properly absorb Aku given how he works...and the sheer size difference in most forms.
>>
>>3892451
I'd like to think that the more of our family and friends Buu absorbs, the less likely it would be to absorb us.
A dozen or so voices in your head telling you to not hurt Karn would probably put us in a decent position in a fight.
>>
>>3892458
Sure as shit didn't stop Buu in canon, though. At his core, as long as the evil essence is still in Buu, he's going to eat people. Especially if he thinks he stands to gain from it.

“Huh? Where am I? When did I get here?” you think to yourself, waking up inside a healing pod. You try and remember, you were battling Meloka to help her blow off some steam when she unleashed a new attack. You remember hundreds, if not thousands of blades raining down from the sky. Her attack was unstoppable, slicing you to ribbons before everything finally went black. But now you’re here.

Looking out of the pod, you see that the room beyond is black, the lights clearly off. You can see just beyond the pod, the pinkish glow illuminating Meloka sleeping right up against the pod. Wait, pink glow? Healing pods glow green, why is this different? You try and reach the internal release lever, to let yourself out of the pod, when you make a frightening discovery: you can’t move! Shit, this is bad! Suddenly, you see a vague outline of someone on the other side of the pod, who reaches out with a wide-tipped pen and writes two words on the pod backwards so you can read it:

“You lose”

“Who are you?” you ask the figure telepathically, who of course doesn’t reply. Their ki feels vaguely familiar as well, but the figure quietly steps over the sleeping form of Meloka curled up at the base of your pod and vanishes into the darkness. You try and follow the ki, but after a few seconds lose them. Dammit, that was probably your traitor! But you can’t focus on that issue now, as the crystallization spreads up the inside of the pod around you, closes and closer to your head. You remember this from your time fighting the Covenant, if you don’t get out of here soon, you never will! You don’t have much time, you have to act now!

But what do you do?

57/100, 99/100. Here it goes, writing.
>>
>>3892628
That's a happy Aku and not a scared Aku, so I infer it must have gone well enough to not bump off our guy.

Anyway, time to overanalyse. The ki of the person being vaguely familiar suggests it is someone who we have interacted with before, but not on a regular basis, which means it is probably not someone in our immediate group. Also it means we need to remind our wife to lock the spaceship door behind her.
>>
>>3892646
It told us quite a lot. The ki is low enough not tip off a sleeping meloka but fast enough to vanish off our radar in seconds. That combined with a few other suspicion lead to one suspect. Jotaro. We do usually spar in berserk against him, so not recognizing it immediately may be due to our lower situational awareness in that form. And luckily since the traitor is literate we can write off basically all our kids.
>>
>>3892673
Same, at first I thought that this assassin may have been that sith we fought in the armory, since they could have sourced the crystals we're currently dying from out of a covenant weapon, but they chose to fight us even when we tried to approach them peacefully. Jotaro is still at the top of the list suspect-wise for me, but I'm not 100% sure, I feel like I'm missing something.
>>
>>3892680
>>3892673
It could well be Jotaro and the clues make sense but as I've been pondering most of this time begs the question - why? What motivation might he have to do it? All will be answered in time, I guess.
>>
>>3892681
Closest i could assume is that Nefarious put the feat of a saiyan invasion of earth in him.
>>
>>3892685
Fear*
>>
>>3892681
It could very well be Time Patrol Jotaro doing it, he could literally replace our timelines Jotaro and we would never notice until we get into a situation like this, so the time thot and co are trying to kill us again.
>>
>>3892685
That...is actually a very valid point that people could be turned against us with. Quite how Nefarious would have done it I don't know, unless he had more heads lying around somewhere.

Where is Earth, anyway? Is it anywhere near PTO space or otherwise on their radar?
>>
>>3892703
The impression I had gotten so far is that the Toilet Paper and Time Loli had largely given up and resolved to give our timeline as wide a berth as possible outside of stopping the odd Time Breaker. I wouldn't think they would do such a plot and, anyways, I believe the has a bigger problem right now.
>>
>>3892706
no earth is special in a way of its literally on the ass end of the galaxy on the other side of the universe, so the thought of an invasion if jotaro has ever actually looked at a space map is both Sheer insanity and retarded. In addition to this jotaro isn't the type to normally do half assed shit like this if hes literally been sparring and shit with us, he would at least use his brain enough to figure out what the fuck. Time Patrol Jotaro already sees us as a massive threat, we have fucked him up once already and already tried to kill us off permanently with the abyss bullshit, so him pulling this I could easily see if anything.
>>
>>3892712
the thing is it doesn't mean people can't do that shit individually, mind you TP jotaro both dislikes us immensely and time loli and trunks are off faffling about with dumplin bullshit and literally outside reality as a whole, so he has free reign to do whatever the fuck.
>>
FOOLS.
It's not Jotaro. It's not the Doc. It's not even the Sith! No, only one being in the universe is evil enough to betray an old friend like this.
AKU, THE SHAPESHIFTING MASTER OF DARKNESS. You see, he too fought against the Covenant, long ago! And Karn has proven himself a terrifying warrior, one who's threat is too great to permit him to live any longer! That is why Aku, or perhaps his minion Scaramouch, arranged for all of this to happen!
>>
>>3892733
Oh that reminds me. This also means the traitor is/was on PTO soil before we sparred with Meloka, oooor can IT. So cooler is a possibility, but other wise the list is narrowing greatly.
>>
>>3892570
“Vegeta, we’ve got a problem!” you telepathically shout to him, struggling in vain to move. “I’m trapped in the healing pod!”
“Shit! On my way now!” he replies to you, and several moments later the light to the room turns on. You see Vegeta rushing in, looking around until he sees your pod. Without hesitation he rushes over to the controls, setting the release then rushing over to the pod. Meloka’s woken up by the light, looking around groggily.
“Huuh? Whaa?” she says sleepily, Vegeta grabbing her by the shoulders and shaking her.
“Wake up Meloka, Karn’s in danger!” he shouts, your wife instantly jumping to her feet. “He’s in the healing pod, help me open it!”

“Right!” she shouts, Vegeta and your wife both grabbing on and transforming. Vegeta Ascends as Meloka goes Super Saiyan 3, both of your allies pulling with all their might. You feel the entire pod shaking, crystals cracking until suddenly the door opens! Witt a mighty crack it shatters, the chunk of crystal you’re trapped in falling forward. But it doesn’t break, remaining a solid rock around you. But Meloka doesn’t hesitate, lifting both hands together and smashing them down on your crystal prison.

CRACK

Her mighty hit doesn’t shatter your prison, but she doesn’t stop, slamming her fists down onto it over and over again until it completely shatters. You’re freed from your crystal prison, Meloka hugging you and crying.

“Karn I’m so sorry!!” she sobs, grabbing and holding you tight. Feebly you reach up to her, patting her on the back. But as you do, Vegeta reaches out to you, laying a hand on your shoulder.

“Karn. Did you see who it was?” he asks you over Meloka’s profuse crying. “Who did this?”

Shit, whoever the traitor is knows about the crystal's effect on healing pod fluid in the presence of our aura.
That means they've either been around for a LONG time, or else they're in contact with someone else who is.

“I didn’t see whoever it was, but for just a moment I felt their ki.” you say, coughing up more of the pink healing fluid slime. “It felt familiar, maybe I can find them again.”
“Wait, you mean someone did this to you on purpose?” he asks, Meloka clutching you tighter. Realization dawns on his face, left hand going to his scouter’s comms. “Royal Guard, all hands! Lockdown on Karn’s ship, effective immediately! No one is allowed in or out, if anyone attempts to leave let me know!”
“You said it felt familiar, right?” Meloka asks you as King Vegeta storms out of the room, barking orders to his Royal Guard. “Do you know who it was?”
“Sorry, no.” you reply, strength slowly returning to your limbs. “But, just maybe...”

You slowly lift the two fingers of your right hand to your forehead, and focus your ki sense. As you reach out with your senses, searching for it, you feel like you should know who that was. But as you search, that ki either is hiding, or no longer here. Dammit. That bastard almost killed you! But wait, why didn’t they try and attack Meloka while she slept? Why only write that message? You can’t help but feel like you’re missing something here.

“Dammit. I can’t find them.” you say with a frustrated sigh. They were right there!
“I’m so sorry hun.” Meloka says. “If I hadn’t used that attack, you wouldn’t have almost died and given that bastard the chance!”
“Don’t worry about it hun.” you say, kissing her gently. “That attack was amazing. And if you hadn’t done it, and made me vulnerable, that asshole might have gone after one of the kids instead of me. But something’s still bothering me. How did he get that crystal into the Healing Pod?”
“I don’t know.” she says. “I’ve been in here almost the whole time, you’d been asleep for more than a day.”
“So it had to be added in as I was getting put in the pod.” you say to yourself, looking at the now-broken pod that was nearly your tomb. But as you look at it, the remaining pink fluid having hardened and crystallized, you realize something. Pushing yourself unsteadily to your feet, you go to the other pod, turning the fluid pump on. To your surprise, the same pink fluid begins filling in, you stopping it almost immediately. Dammit.

“No way.” your wife says, jaw dropping as you step back. “It wasn’t just the one?”
“No.” you say angrily. “Looks like the entire healing pod system was sabotaged. Dammit.”
“We need to find out who did this!” she says, trembling slightly in fury. “I’ll make them pay!”
“Lockdown’s set, no one is getting away.” Vegeta tells you. “But what now?”

>>

Well the reason I suspect is from how much I've understood.

•Not time patrol/Towa because our demonic seal would activate and if not us, meloka's.
•Low enough ki not to alert meloka
•Familiar enough not to cause a stir from them being sensed on our ship.
•Smart enough and with enough time to sabotage healing pods.
•Capable of liberation
•Swift enough to disappear off our radar[only grain of salt with this seeing as we were in the crystal]
And primarily
•Allowed on our ship long enough to wait till Meloka fell asleep waiting for us to heal, and to be there to gloat at crystallization stage.

“Keep everyone here.” you tell him telepathically. “I’m going to check up with Arctus, see what kind of progress he’s made.”
“Very well.” he says, as Meloka brings you a training suit to get dressed in. “If anything happens I’ll let you know.”
“Same here.” you reply. “Our assassin couldn’t have gone far, watch your back.”
“You too.” he replies, ending the mental link.
“Come on, let’s see what Arctus has found.” you say once clothed, walking a little unsteadily towards the door. Meloka comes with you, but as the door opens you turn to her, a question coming to mind. “Wait, I’ve been out for a day now? Where’s the kids?”
“They’re safe.” she says reassuringly. Chaya and your father took the younger ones to Dreadzone, the only ones still here are Chilli and Caulifa, who’re both staying on Raven’s island.”

“Good idea, its better keep them far away until this is settled.” you say, hugging your wife close. You then make your way back to the bridge, Meloka walking along beside you instead of riding off your shoulders. You both walk the empty halls, quickly reaching the bridge. The door slides open, revealing Freeza’s cousin surrounded by floating monitors and more than a dozen empty bottles. “Hey, how’s it going?”
“Not well.” Arctus says, his voice slightly slurred and full of frustration. “Whoever got into the system, he’s let someone else in. I don’t know who it is, but they’re fighting me every step of the way.”
“That’s probably Nefarious.” you say, Arctus sighing out and turning to you. He then sees you both, expression darkening.
“What happened?” he asks you. “You look like hell.”
“Our assassin almost got me.” you tell him, quickly describing what happened. “Have you got the cameras back up yet?”
“No.” he says angrily, taking a long pull from an unfamiliar bottle and turning back to the floating monitors. “This ‘Nefarious’ bastard, if it’s who’s behind this, knows his stuff. I’m still too sober to take him on.”

“Wait, what?” you ask, Arctus shaking his head.
“I’ll try my best to give you control of the cameras, and the old footage, but it may take some time.”

But before you can reply, you feeling a sudden surge of dark energy from within your ship as the power cuts out, plunging the ship into darkness. Meloka and Arctus both flash up into their final forms, golden and white light illuminating the room.

“Move!” you shout, Ascending and leading the trio from the bridge. You got a lock on that surge of dark energy, this bastard can’t get away again!

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 106 End-
>>
>>3893321
And that’s it this weekend, everyone have fun? Enjoying the ride? Curious how the assassin got the crystal into the pod’s fluid, and why it’s making moves now? Are you ready to finally find a traitor, and unmask them? All this and more, next time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest!
>>

>watch your back.”
>“You too.”
why must you be like this GD.

Seriously good run though, me and my apparent 7 different ID's have been going over time trying to solve who the traitor is. Quick question, were we(the players) close at any point during discussion, or were we far off?
>>
>>3893348
Given we've been firing off ideas like a brrrrrt cannon, we must have been close at some point and then probably immediately discarded the thought.

I’m sure someone was, either in this thread or the last one. But the better question, instead of who, is why? Power? Status? Infamy?

QM QUESTIONS

With everything that happened today, it’s almost time for the final decisive battle! The fate of Karn, New Salda, and the Saiyan race will soon be decided! But as this arc swiftly approaches it’s close, what have you thought of it? Have you enjoyed the different direction this arc in particular has taken from the usual? What’s been your favorite/least favorite parts so far? Are you ready to put down a traitor, and finally face down Hatchiyak in the final battle? And, most importantly, are you ready to banish the ghosts of your past and move forward into the future?
>>
Fuck my life, the traitor is someone close enough to specifically know exactly how to screw karn over, is a showboat considering they went out of the way to specifically say "you lose", is able to suppress their power level enough so karn won't both find and delete them, and they are allowed to go In and out of the ship at will clearly. Fuck me it's bane isn't it?
>>
>>3893798
>Have you enjoyed the different direction this arc in particular has taken from the usual?
Yes, definitely.
>favorite parts
Just to single something out, I think the way we've put Bane's abilities/skillset to use has been fun.
And before the next thread I just want to say that my suspicions are starting to turn towards Silva/Zeno Zoldyck.
>>
>>3893798
>what have you thought of it? Have you enjoyed the different direction this arc in particular has taken from the usual?
Absolutely. I really enjoy this quest but sometimes it can start feeling really samey with interactions, especially fights. Not that that's a problem with your narrative ability but rather something inherent to DB in general.

>What’s been your favorite/least favorite parts so far?
Least: Escaping from Conton. While it had some good character development, especially for trunks, I don't think it worked very well coupled with the Abyss. The two would have worked better independently.
Most: Trunks finally not acting like a bitch. He's come a long way.

My thinking is that while Silva may hold some resentment against Vegeta/saiyans for what happened with his daughter and that duel, both him and Zeno may be inclined to do a bit of sabotage if it meant saving family. I could see either of them being swayed if approached from the angle of "The saiyans are about to fight a battle they can't win. You can either do some sabotage for us and your daughter will be spared, or you can refuse and she'll die with everyone else." Does Silva/Zeno know about our telepathy? The crystals in the healing pod trick would be a more likely option for someone who doesn't know we can call for help.

If Towa never told us about a traitor further in our timeline, then the traitor must either be non-native to our time...or she genuinely believes that Karn is better off not knowing about the traitor. There must be something we earn in the process of dealing with the traitor and the disaster they cause, something to make it worth not warning us. Who knows, maybe we'll even end up faring better against Hatchiyak without knowing about the traitor than if we did know?
>>
>>3894695
Every time we try and ponder the question we only ever succeed in messing with our own heads even more.
>>
>>3893835
Bane knows you can use telepathy.
>>3893883
He wants to be useful and for you to rely on him more and more, allowing him to corrupt you to the Dark Side.
>>3893893
Not wrong there. But this next arc will be fun too, albeit with much lower stakes. Looking back, it does feel like it broke the tension a bit. Especially with anons fleeing, instead of fighting as I’d hoped.
And yes, Trunks has.
>>3894055
But as a hate ghost, the amount of damage they could do would be limited. Right?
>>3894333
Ha.
>>3894337

Uhhh hate to burst his bubble, but that's really not going to happen. If he starts demanding things from us in exchange for his help then we're probably just going to stop using him.

It’s his plan, and he’s sticking to it. Unfortunately, that’s one of the downsides to being as old as he is. His mind is very rigid, unable to think outside the box.
> If he starts demanding things
He would never be so blatant. Don’t forget, Bane’s been around in one form or another far longer than Hit, who’s over one thousand years old. He’s been playing this game for millennia. If not you, then another will take up his offer. Someone always does...

Mind you that's not necessarily a bad thing, not all sith are completely evil fucktards, so he could simply be one of the nicer ones. Doesn't change he pretty much follows the sith code fairly well.
>>
>>3895441
Does being a Sith automatically make us an emotionally stunted retard or is that just because 90% of Sith start their training as Jedi?
>>
>>3895577
Ironically, one of the best Sith became a Jedi *after*, though, then again, he had been mind wiped.
>>
>>3895702
Yeah well it was only after he had been re-taught by a proper fucking grey Jedi.
>>
I wonder when King Cold is going to take Karn aside and give him “The Talk”. The same one he gave Frieza and Cooler when they were of age.
Yes, that’s right...the talk about Traitors and how to deal with them. The social maneuvering to bring them out into the open, how to pressure them in just the right ways so they slip up. How to punish those who oppose you so brutally that nobody who saw it even thinks about turning on you. How to recognize the signs of a betrayer in your midsts before it’s too late. How to have contingencies in place that only you know about, in case they get further than you thought they would.
Ahh, It’ll be a productive conversation. Karn’s been too innocent when it comes to his allies.
>>
>>3895534
Karn’s and the Sith philosophy have many key disagreements, but one major common point is that nothing matters if you don’t have the strength to protect what’s important to you.
>>3895577
>Does being a Sith automatically make us an emotionally stunted retard or is that just because 90% of Sith start their training as Jedi?
The Jedi, who strive to be emotionless, who turn to the Dark Side are essentially junkies. Using the Dark Side gives them a high, and most devolve into chasing that high.
>>3895847
Ha. But you made one mistake.
>How to punish those who oppose you so brutally that nobody who saw it even thinks about turning on you.
Should read
>How to punish those who oppose you so brutally that people still speak of it in fear generations later.
>>
>>3896069
We know that Karn sees himself as a bit of a father to many people who aren’t truly his, but here’s a good question for you GD: How many people think of Karn as a son, other than Tatsu? I can see King Cold and maybe Zeno Zoldyck, in a weird way. He often seems impressed about Karn’s senses, and despite the bad blood regarding Killua, he clearly respects the efforts Karn’s made to make it up to the family.
>>
>>3896247
I dunno if the big C thinks of us as a son. More like 'my son's brother' maybe?
>>
>>3896356
I feel like he sees Karn as the pet dog, that solo saved his family and has brought him back from depression.
>>
>>3896247
>How many people think of Karn as a son
Only Tatsu. Bardock and Nappa see him as a little brother, but that’s as close as it gets.
>>
>>3893395
>Yes. But considering what could happen next, no point calculating it yet.
So with this post, and the chance of having 2 Zenkai Rolls, we will officially pass King Cold's 4ths Forms PL, making us the strongest PL in our timeline thats in the PL Topic, with the exception of Golden Freeza.
>>
>>3897143
Yes. Karn could very well become the second-strongest warrior in the universe. Because despite his efforts in reclaiming use of his fourth form, to finish the fight against Babidi, his powerlevel hasn’t noticeably changed.
>>
>>3897186
Damn it, if only he wasn't such a recluse he could work more directly with Frieza and Karn to return to his former glory. I mean, I get why he secludes himself, but still. :(
>>
>>3897186
Hows that going by the way? Has he managed to get any more time in it? or is that old injury still fucking him up? Has he considered getting magical help?

And, if we bully I mean take Shin under our wing, think he could have or know anything that could fix him?

He also needs to spar with Karn again. Getting pushed like he was on Raxus is the only way he's going to improve.
>>
>>3897212
No, sadly he couldn’t. He’s unable to return to his prime’s strength, for several reasons.
>>3897222
He can hold it for longer. Maybe, but he can see the light at the end of the long, long tunnel. He’s lived a long time, his work is almost done, and once Babidi lays dead at his feet he can finally retire like the Guardian until his own time comes. His empire is flourishing, and once the threat of Majin Buu is removed, nothing can stop his son’s rule.
> And, if we bully I mean take Shin under our wing, think he could have or know anything that could fix him?
>Shin

> is the only way he's going to improve.
He’s been slowly recovering some of his old power, like a marathon runner who’s been out of commission for years due to traumatic injury and never did physical therapy slowly trying to get back into it. He’ll never be what he was, but can still be better than he is now.
>>
>>3897259

Besides his son getting so cocky about his Golden Form he runs out the clock on it and gets screwed.

>Reeeaaaally stretching it there aren’t you?
I mean, he is a generally useless hack, but is still A God. I figure he either knows someone with magical healing ability or some other magical/divine means of restoration.

>He’s been slowly recovering some of his old power, like a marathon runner who’s been out of commission for years due to traumatic injury and never did physical therapy slowly trying to get back into it. He’ll never be what he was, but can still be better than he is now.

And he'd be doing better if he ever called Karn and ask for spars. Fighting for his almost life against an equal or almost equal enemy will do more for him then any amount of solo practice.
>>
>>3897356
>And he'd be doing better if he ever called Karn and ask for spars.

>>3897378
Karn does that every day. You know that, I know that, the guy who works at the butcher shop down the road knows that, hell I'm sure the janitor for King Vegeta's training room knows about it. Its just another day for Karn.

Karn isn't a Force-sensitive, is he? Or did I miss something? Not that that matters, Jedi/Sith suck compared to him. Any fall would have to be very gradual so we'll have to be especially alert for Bane's subtle nudging.
>>

>Karn isn't a Force-sensitive, is he? Or did I miss something?
The Guardian pretty much confirmed that the Force and Ki are basically the same thing.

He works for the bad guy and doesn't think twice about committing genocide as part of his job (though we don't seem to do much of that any more), but doesn't do it out of malice or for evil aims but rather because he likes punching things and cares little for ideology and the G/E and L/C dichotomies. His professional and personal sides are very different, and if you can get past his job and reputation he's actually a good guy who genuinely wants the best and will go to great lengths for his family, friends, species and those he deems deserving. Is that a fair assessment (It was very difficult to not cite tvtropes in that)?

I suppose it's little wonder so many characters feel conflicted and demonstrates how much character he's gained over the last couple of years.
>>
>>3902731
I think GD said he was LE, since he's a tool of evil but has a code of sorts.
>>
>>3901659
Would depend mostly on one centrally important question: would Karn use the Dark Side, or would it use him? Bane, for example, uses the Dark Side. But many fall to it, becoming essentially junkies for unleashing its power.
>>3902731
Closest would be some flavor of neutral, as Karn has no qualms about even murdering non-combatants. But as everyone knows, the 9-alignment system is trash

QM UPDATE

So now that I’m finally feeling more like myself, I’ll get back to writing the epilogue and we’ll return to our regularly-scheduled run time next Saturday the 9th at noon EST.

In other news, and fair warning, spoilers:
I haven’t been using the old stats since shortly after the final Arbiter fight. But today I was able to completely redesign the combat system. By pulling far heavier inspiration from pic related’s game than I had originally, and after running through a half-dozen battles, it seems to be working much smoother. You guys may not notice much difference on your end, except maybe a few more dice rolled during combat, but it will be a whole lot easier on me.
>>
>>3903442
Hell yeah, man, glad to hear you're starting to feel better.
>pic and spoilers
interesting, I'm not familiar with that game
>>
>>3903508
It’s a fun card game, but turn order can end up getting a little confusing.
>>
So does Karn know if Frieza plans to hire the Zoldyks for the whole Hatchiyak issue?
Wouldn’t be a bad idea, to be honest. Pricy, but worth if it they can infiltrate and sabotage key locations.
>>
>>3904481
Karn has no idea what Freeza’s plans for the coming battle are, or if Freeza’s already taken the fight to the Dark Planet
>>
>>3904525
Well, we can't have that. Poor communication gets people killed.

He may have felt guilty about you getting caught, and tried for a preemptive planet-destroying strike to keep you out of danger again. But Hatchiyack is still coming, and won’t be stopped until he arrives.
>>
>>3905016
I have a question about Hatchiyak and hate ghosts and such.
Is it theoretically possible for him to genocide other planets while exclusively using Saiyan hate-ghosts (or at least saiyan-disguised ones) to collect more soldiers than the saiyans would naturally give them in their own conquests?
>>
>>3905546
Theoretically? Yes. Probable? No. Would be an inefficient use of time and resources

QM UPDATE

Still working on that Tatsu and Tomi epilogue, we’ll see if it’s ready tonight or not by 9pm EST. If it’s not, it’ll be out sometime tomorrow evening. Who’s ready to watch the twins’ terrific tag-team techniques?

>He has discovered that trying to destroy the Dark Planet at range is useless, despite going Golden and tossing a Supernova at it.
Honestly, this has been bugging me for awhile, where the fuck did the Tuffles get Magical Hate Ghost Tech from?

Like, if this was some weird Big Gete Star shit, I would understand it atleast a little, but somehow this old bastard got his hands on magical science that AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTS THE SOULS OF THE HATEFUL DEAD FROM ACROSS THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE if they died hating the Saiyans, and then he puts them into evil smoke bodies that can let them go Full Power and infinitly respawn.

The fuck kind of nonsense is that Toriyama?!
>>
>>3907829
Was it even Toriyama who did it? Wasn't that an OVA for some game? Anyways, they had time machines and androids stronger than super saiyans in the then last arc, and death is nothing in the DB universe anyways so the Hate Ghost aren't that ridiculous.

Super scientist made it while he was in Hell. Yeah that's fucking stupid but before Super came along, evil motherfuckers basically just ran around doing whatever in the afterlife.
Even Gero did something similar.

QM UPDATE

Just finished the epilogue, dropping it before I head off to bed. Hope everyone’s ready!

>>3907829
He built it. Who knows what Hatchiyack’s original purpose was, but it kept the old scientist’s hateful soul around long enough to allow him to finish making Hatchiyack a near-unstoppable murder machine. And the Destron Gas doesn’t let those copies have bodies, only those souls with exceptional hate for the Saiyans(or at least -a- Saiyan) are able to take physical form. And they don’t respawn infinitely, as(spoilers, for those who haven’t watched)They can only continually form bodies out of the gas as long as it’s concentrated enough. Once it’s diluted, they can’t keep re-forming.
>>3907847
>Wasn't that an OVA for some game?
Yes, the original was Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans I believe.
>>3907904
>Super scientist made it while he was in Hell.
Incorrect, as he was already in the ship with Hatchiyack when it left Planet Vegeta. He was just killed inside it by the Saiyans, and with no one alive inside it they didn’t bother destroying the ship.
>>3907956
Freeza can be quite a good friend. We’ll always have him. Hopefully.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 106 Epilogue-

AGE 748, DRRADZONE ARENA

“Ladies and gentlemen, you’re in for a special treat tonight!” the green announcer man shouts, the huge crowd cheering. You and your brother wave, you with your left and he with his right as you hold his left hand. You are Tomi: twin sister of Tatsu and daughter of Karn and Meloka. You and your twin brother are special, you both able to think each other’s thoughts and even sometimes see what the other sees. Teacher Raven says you both share a special link, one only some twins have. You’ve shared everything with him growing up, you both now even wear the same armor. As you got older and still looked almost identical to your twin, you started wearing a green scouter and Tatsu a blue one just so people could tell you apart. “For the first time in the arena, we have two very special competitors. At just eight years old, and coming all the way from New Salda, put your hands together for the dynamic duo: Tatsu and Tomi!”

“Be careful you two, okay?” Chaya says, her voice coming through your scouter over the roar of the crowds. “I’ll be up above, if things get bad I’ll jump in, okay?”
“Don’t jump in.” Tatsu says back to her, having let go of your hand to press his scouter’s talk button. “We’re gonna win this!”
“That’s right!” you say, in total agreement. “They can’t beat us if we work together!”
“Just be cautious.” she says, you listening to her over the announcers. “Momma’ll be really mad at me if you two get hurt.”
“We’ll be fine.” you say, Tatsu finishing your sentence with, “We’ve got this.”
“And now, let the carnage begin!” the announcer robot lady says, as little robots begin jumping up from the lava in the out-of-bounds area.

“They look funny.” you and Tatsu think at the same time, giggling together as the big mouths with legs waddle towards you. But you’re not here to laugh at the funny-looking robots, you’re here to win! As one, you both shout “Go!”, and attack. You leap at the closest one, which is a lot scarier up close. It’s mouth is so big, it could fit your entire leg in it! But you’re not scared, flipping forward and slamming your left heel down. The mouth robot crunches under your heel, actually exploding from the force of your kick. You’re gonna have so much fun!
>>
>>3908123
“Just look at the little tykes go!” the green announcer shouts, the crowd roaring as you and Tatsu smash the bitey robots. You break twelve, or fifteen of them(you’re not sure which comes after eleven again?) when the little robots stop coming. “They handled the opening wave with ease, but what about round two?”

“Tatsu!”
“Tomi!”

You both shout each other’s name simultaneously, dashing back into the center of the ring and going back-to-back. With Tatsu’s back presses to yours, hands up and ready for whatever’s next, you uncurl your tail from around your waist. Your twin, doing the same, entwines his tail with yours, you feeling the deep warmth within your mind whenever you are touching your twin. But you can’t relish the sensation for long, as you see two dropships flying in.

“You can shoot them down.” Chaya suddenly tells you both through the scouter, you grinning. Holding your hands with the palms towards each other, you gather your ki and ready it for an attack. Tatsu, having done the same at the same time, unleashes his attack as you unleash yours.

“HAAAAA!!” you both shout, unleashing your big ki bombs. Your attack almost misses, but you steer it and make sure it connects. Your attack strikes the rear of the dropship and blows it up, it dropping from the air and crashing nose-first into the lava.
“Ha! I got you!” you shout, pumping your left fist, then rapping the back of your knuckles against Tatsu’s right hand.
“Don’t celebrate yet, you’ve got more incoming.” Chaya advises you, as another pair of ships come down, then another. You gather your ki, Tatsu doing the same and firing another pair of shots, destroying half of the incoming ships. But the other two begin dropping their soldiers, and then this fight gets more fun. “Watch out for their guns, they hurt. Dodging from side-to-side is the best way to avoid getting shot.”

“Okay.” you both reply, leaping into the air and flipping. You move in perfect sync, backflipping and kicking off each other’s feet. Pushing off each other you both split up, and go on the attack. “HAAAA!!”

Your change in tactics catches the first soldier completely not ready, his gun still pointed to where you and Tatsu’d been standing. But you’re already in too close, kicking it’s head right off his shoulders. Your surprise weapon strikes the soldier behind his right shoulder hard enough that they both explode.

“Fire!” one of the other soldiers shouts, and suddenly they all begin firing at you.
>>
>>3908130
“WOAH!” you shout, dodging side-to-side as Chaya’d told you, but there’s so many of them!! You can’t count all the bullets flying around, it taking all of your concentration to avoid getting shot. After what feels like an hour, but could have only been a minute or so of intense dodging, their guns all stop.
“Now, go get ‘em!” big sis Chaya shouts in the scouter. But she doesn’t have to tell either of you twice, you leaping high up and backflipping as Tatsu does the same. With a shout you both once more kick off each other’s feet, launching yourselves into the grouped-up soldiers and quickly smashing them. For such scary-looking robots, they’re really weak. You don’t hit any of them more than once, you and your twin exploding the robots in seconds.

“Can you believe it Juanita?” the excited announcer shouts over the crowd. “It seems our terrifying twosome has cleared the first two waves without a scratch!”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less from our champion’s siblings.” the robot-lady Juanita says, you both suddenly getting a really bad feeling about this. “But how well will they fare against round three?”
“Let’s find out!” the really excited announcer shouts, and suddenly something grabs your right leg.

“EEEEEEK!!” you shriek in surprise, looking down and seeing a mechanical hand has burst up from the ground. In a panic you fly upwards, dragging the strange metal man upwards. As you fly up Tatsu moves, gathering his ki in his right hand and smashing it into the robot. With his Ki Punch exploding right into it, the robot explodes into tiny pieces. But there’s a problem: it arm won’t let go! “Waaah?!”
“Looks like the boys from Catacrom 4 are ready to join the party!” the announcer shouts, as you shake your leg as fast as you can but it won’t let go. “Let’s see how well they fare against these zombie robots!”
“Zombie?” Tatsu starts.
“Robots?” you finish, forgetting a moment about the arm holding your leg and sharing a look with your twin. Really? REALLY??
“Heads up, more are coming.” Chaya says, and sure enough you see more and more rusty robots rising up out of the ground. There’s something terrifying about witnessing creatures rising up out of the ground, you feeling a shiver run up yours and Tatsu’s spines.

“Its time for round three!” Juanita shouts, and as one the horde lurches towards you.

The horde of mechanical terrors begin approaching you as one, moaning in a thunderous call of broken voices. The audience roars in approval, you and Tatsu going back-to-back as the horde surrounding you closes in. You feel your right hand unconsciously grab your brother’s left, and you no longer feel scared. As long as you’re together, no stupid robots are gonna stop you!

“Ready!” you both say simultaneously, flaring your auras and taking your twin stance. You open your mind fully to Tatsu, your consciousnesses beginning to merge. Your auras change from your individual red and blue to a uniform purple, becoming one mind in two bodies as your power explodes. Your whole mind sees everything through both sets of eyes at once, and within a second have already planned how to defeat them all. And as one, you move.

“HAAAA!!” your mouths shout, Tatsu’s arm swinging Tomi’s body like a flail as your feet kick, smashing robot after robot as you spin your bodies in a half-circle. At the end of the swing Tomi lands on both feet, swinging Tatsu overhead to crash down into the midst of the horde. Gathering your overwhelming, overflowing ki into Tatsu’s right fist, the powerful attack explodes when contacting the ground. The blast consumes more than three dozen of the machines, but you don’t stop moving there, as dozens upon dozens of the machines keep trying to attack. So as one your bodies leap up into the air, hands still held, and gather your power. You’ll end this, and now. You hold Tomi’s left and Tatsu’s right hands up overhead, gathering a massive purple ball of ki. “Begone.”

As one, you drop both Tatsu’s and Tomi’s upheld hands, sending the massive attack down. But surprisingly, a reddish blur dashes down from overhead, your attack slamming into something before hitting the ground. An instant later the blast explodes, but you hadn’t yet detonated it. Instead, once the smoke clears, you see your oldest sister standing tall in a crater, her aura flaring up wildly around her.

“What did I tell you?” she scolds, and for a moment her glare reminds you of Momma. “I told you to be careful, and not unleash a whole bunch of power like that! You coulda destroyed the entire station!”
“And what is this? It looks like our champion, Chaya, has stepped into the ring!” Dallas shouts, the crowd suddenly roaring even louder. “Seems like this fight is just heating up!”
“Well, looks like it’s my turn.” she says, rolling her right shoulder like Daddy sometimes does as her aura changes to gold, your sister transforming into a Super Saiyan. “Whaddya say, you two ready?”

“I’m ready.” you say through both mouths as your purple aura begins changing to gold as well. Your power explodes out, you taking on your Super Saiyan form as well. “Let’s go.”

>actual twin telepathy
well damn, that has a ton of implications power-wise in DB, in and out of battle
>one of them gets a transformation for the first time, the other instantly knows exactly what they need to feel for and what to do also
>can work on developing different techniques independently with a high rate of crossover for learning
>perfect sync for tag team ki attacks
>probably would make instant transmission 100x easier between them, each would always have the other for backup + mid combat IT shenanigans
I hadn't considered these two all that much, but out of all of Karn's kids they have some serious potential to be OP.
>>
>>3908147
Whew, that is fucking nuts, those kids....Su Ma would be a death for the poor fuckers who ended up fighting them once they learned it.

Still....I can see the downsides here. If something happens to one of the Twins, even if its only temporary, the other is going to flip their shit and probably completely and utterly shut down once they've killed whatever was responsible. That kind of mental connection is very much a double edged sword.
>>
>>3908201
Yes, they could grow up to be quite formidable. Especially if Fusion becomes a thing...
>>3908237
Yes and no. The big limitation to their full power is they have to maintain steady, constant contact with each other to draw that full merged strength forth. They’ll have to develop their own style, or find a duo they could learn from. And if one is hurt, both feel it. If something terribly traumatic were to happen, they wouldn’t get off lightly.

You’re welcome anon. And even if you’re not voting, it’s still good to know more people than those voting are enjoying the ride. As for entertaining, that’s because authors live in a different world than I do, writing their own story then putting it out to the world. But I’m no author, I’m a QM. And while it’s streamlined on anons end and more narrative-based, and hopefully streamlined for me as well after using this new system for real, in the end this is still a game. Although these wonderful characters have taken on lives of their own, many evolving in unseen but not unpleasant ways, this isn’t for profit, or widespread name recognition. This is for mine, yours, and everyone who joins in’s entertainment. In the end, we’re all here to have fun
