/qst/ - Quests

Seventeen years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza’s army. Since that fateful day, the Saiyans have more than earned their title of warrior race. After the now-legendary Siege of New Salda broke the might of the Covenant’s empire, no other empire has dared to openly challenge the PTO’s military superiority, or the mighty Saiyans in battle. Entire systems have surrendered without a fight, thanks in part to the battle being spread far and wide through the Vox media empire. But how long can the might of the Saiyans remain unchallenged?

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, currently Age 748. You the players control Karn, a Saiyan with a last-recorded powerlevel of 17,207,900, a general in Lord Freeza’s army, husband and mate to Meloka, father of many, champion of New Salda, wielder of the Stand Dragon Force, and as “The Dragon of New Salda” you are the unbroken symbol of the PTO’s might across the stars. The Saiyan race has enjoyed an unprecedented time of peace, but it seems that peace may be coming to an end.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

The power to Karn’s ship went out as a sudden surge of dark energy was felt by Karn, Meloka, and Arctus. The trio raced to the engine room, where a traitor was holding Karn’s pilots hostage and threatening to destroy the entire ship. So while Meloka and Arctus evacuated everyone else, Karn kept the traitor talking until the all clear was given. During the fight with Mouse the traitor, Karn had to be saved by his heroic pilots due to being poisoned by the Destron Gas, and having his strength sapped by one of the life-sucking crystals. Unfortunately Roberry, Nabanna, and one of the other pilots were all killed before Mouse could be stopped. After getting healed by Caulifla’s Triumph, and Dr. White removing the crystal planted inside him, King Vegeta informed Karn that the battle for New Salda was about to begin. As we rejoin Karn, you’re standing on the battlefield you’d sparred Meloka. With your Wolf Knight greatsword held in your left hand, and in your Champion Berserker form, you’d just crushed several Destron Gas-spitting machines. But more are coming.

There’s so many...” you mutter, looking up and seeing more and more of the machines dropping down from the Dark Planet. You take a deep, calming breath, feeling your planet’s strength surging up from the ground, the energy flowing throughout your body. As you breathe out, your worries and fears leave you, your mind focused on the task as hand. “Alright. Let’s do this.”
“Daddy?” Caulifla asks, you turning to see your seven year old daughter looking at the sky nervously. “That’s a lotta robots.”
“Yeah. Yeah, it is.” you say to your daughter, as more of the machines begin crashing to the ground around you both. But you do your best to cover your worry, turning back towards her with a smile. “You ready to scrap some robots?”
“YEAH!!” she shouts, Triumph appearing behind her.
“KIIIIIIIII!!” her Stand caws along with her shout, breathing a column of fire straight into the air.

“Alright, but we gotta be careful.” you say, pointing at one as it begins belching smoke. “That smoke’s bad for you, so don’t breathe it in, okay?”
“I can get rid of the stinky smoke!” she shouts, pointing. “Go Triumph!”
“KIIIIIIIIIIII!!” it caws, once more spitting fire. Her Stand’s golden blaze incinerates the smog cloud gathering around that robot, surprising you. You hadn’t realized the smog was that flammable, this could make clearing it easier. But as the flames stop, you see the machine’s energy shield protected it from harm.
“Hey, no fair!” Caulifla shouts, waving her arms impotently. “No fair, no fair! Using a shield’s cheating!”

Guys, we need to send out a telepathic message to raven and king vegeta, to tell them that the destron gas is flammable.
That's very important information, and if it's transmitted to everyone on the planet it'll help turn the tide of battle. Raven and vegeta can get that message out to people.

“Don’t just complain, Caulifla!” you shout, leaping high into the air and gathering your ki into your right fist. “Find a weakness, and attack! HAAA!!”

With your shout, you fire a large ki blast, your Scattershot splitting into dozens of smaller attacks. Your attack rains down on the machine Caulifla’d attacked, as well as dozens of others behind it. Caulifla leaps up as your attack rains down, her and her Stand flying up next to you.

“That didn’t get them either!” she complains, the smoke clearing to show the machines had all shielded themselves. “Now what?”
“You can’t just rely on one attack.” you say, again gathering your ki into your hands. But this time, instead of firing a wide-angle attack, you unleash a pair of Energy Javelins one right after another. The attacks streak down, actually piercing through their energy shields, The javelins themselves don’t pierce through far enough to stab the machines, but they don’t have to. After a second your attacks explode, and with the energy trapped within those shields, the first two don’t stand a chance. The explosions obliterate the robots, shields disappearing as they’re destroyed. “If one doesn’t work, you have to try something else. This is why you need many different attacks, kiddo; so you can handle whatever tricks your enemies have.”

“Different attacks? Hmmm...” she says, finger to her chin as she ponders. But as she thinks, the machines fire a salvo of energy blasts up at the two of you. You want to see what she comes up with, so you protect her, shielding the both of you with your Barrier. Their blasts all slam impotently against your shield, Caulifla paying no attention as she focuses. After a few moments she snaps her fingers, an idea coming to her. “I got it!”

“Alright, you ready?” you ask, your daughter nodding. Ending your Barrier, you swat several incoming blasts away while you try and watch Caulifla.
“Go, Triumph!” she shouts. “Fire!”
“KIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!” Triumph caws, it’s usual screech changing mid-shout. You turn, seeing it firing it’s breath focused like a Death Beam. Instead of a wide-angled cone of golden flames, it fires it’s flames in a needle-thin stream of intense heat. You watch as her attack cuts through the shields and machines both, sweeping the beam and causing a dozen of the robots to explode.
“Haha, gotcha!!” she shouts happily, you smiling at her success. Unfortunately this left you distracted, one of the blasts slamming into the side of your face. You turn back from your kid’s victory, focusing on the cluster of machines where that attack came from. You gather your ki into both hands, crossing your arms before you.

“X SLASH!!”
cont
>>
>>3926531
Swinging both arms, you unleash your ki as a large pair of crossed Death Slashes. Your attacks cut down another dozen blasts before they can reach you, smashing down against more that two dozen of the Tuffle warbots’ shields. Their shields can’t defend against your ranged blades, your attack cutting them all down at once.

“Go Triumph! We gotta take more of them down than Daddy!” your daughter suddenly shouts, her Stand again firing it’s needle-thin piercing beam. Her attack quickly cuts down another dozen machines, you chuckling at her challenge. She wants to try and take more of them down than you, showing just how not afraid of these machines she is. You can work with this, it’s better than her being terrified.
“Oh yeah?” you call back to her tauntingly. “You’re on! Ready?”
“GO!!” she shouts excitedly, the two of you splitting up. You unleash your Death Slashes and Energy Javelin, cutting the attacking machines down easily. You focus exclusively on attacking, since their blasts can’t really hurt you and you stay out of the Destron Gas. Many try and shield themselves, but your attacks cut just as easily through their shields as the machines themselves. This small battle lasts only a minute or so, you and your daughter destroying them all. “Hah, hah, I got sixty of them! I win!”
“Good job Caulifla.” you say, ruffling your daughter’s hair with one massive hand. “See? You gotta switch up your attacks, depending on what your opponents can do. Just one attack won’t work on everything you fight.”

“Yeah, I’mma figure out all sorts’a cool attacks with Triumph!” she says, pumping a fist. But with the battle around you ended, at least for the moment, you drift back down to the ground. As soon as your boots touch the ground, New Salda’s senses enhance your own and allow you to get a better sense of the planet-wide battle. You feel Ubo fighting solo to the far north, fighting the machines in the snow. Meanwhile, Bardock, Raditz, and another dozen or so Saiyans are fighting in the forest to the east of the city. The Jiralhanae to the southeast seem to be holding, the machines not directly attacking them. No one has yet deployed to the south, more of the machines rallying there without anyone thinning their numbers. But the biggest battle is still in the city, more machines than you can count are attacking. Vegeta, Meloka, the Royal Guard, and the others are fighting to protect the non-combatants’ evacuation. But with so much going on, what do you do?

“My champion, they’re ready.” New Salda’s thought booms in your mind, her molten children bursting forth from the ground around you.
“Eeeek!!” Caulifla shouts, you quickly explaining what they are. “Oh, so they’re gonna help? But how?”

“So where are we goin’ next?” Caulifla asks you, already dismissing the giant rock soldiers as more and more begin rising out of the ground. But you’re not sure, there’s so much going on you could help with that you’re unable to move. But as you ponder, you open your mind for telepathy, reaching out to King Vegeta and Raven.
“This is Karn. We just discovered something important.” you think out to them, feeling both of their minds. “Their Destron Gas is flammable, burn it away.”
“Got it!” Vegeta replies tersely, ending the link.
“Fire?” Chilli asks, his mind already linked with Raven’s. “Got it! I won’t let them beat us!”
“Good. Keep them safe Chilli.” you tell your son, then focusing more on Raven. “Heads up, I’m sending some of New Salda’s warriors towards you. Position them as you need, I’ll be focusing on directing the rest.”

“Understood.” she replies, you ending the connection with New Salda’s Guardian as you begin addressing the molten soldiers, both vocally and telepathically. “Alright, listen up! New Salda is under attack, and we’re gonna stop them! Spread out, cover our allies and burn that smoke out!”

Your soldiers don’t reply, and simply begin following your directions. Nearly a fourth of your soldiers you send towards the city, directing the rest to split up. You have four take up a defensive position around you, twelve are sent down south towards the machines constantly bellowing Destron Gas into New Salda’s air, eight up north to Ubo, and eight you send towards Bardock and the other four southeast towards the Jiralhanae. You power back down out of your Berserker form, retaining the Champion power to maintain easy control over the soldiers. But Caulifla looks down to you curiously, head leaned to the side as she drifts down.

“You’re not going to help?” she asks you, confused. “But there’s robots everywhere!”
“Yes, there are robots landing everywhere.” you tell her, as you focus on everything your rock soldiers can see. “But I can’t be everywhere kiddo. There’s only one of me. And since I can’t be everywhere, I gotta make sure I’m doing the most good for everyone. So first, I have to find out where I can use my strength to the best effect.”
“Oh. Okay...” she says, not getting it. But instead of questioning you, she sits on one of the lava monster’s shoulders and watches you curiously.

Closing your eyes, you focusing your full awareness through New Salda’s children. The groups traveling in each direction aren’t walking, their method of transportation surprising you. Each one’s curled itself up into a ball, swiftly rolling across the planet’s surface. It takes them only a minute or two, quickly rolling up on the separate battlefields. As they roll down, occasionally crushing a helpless machine in their path, none of the Tuffle warbots actually try to stop them. Seems their entire focus is on attacking the Saiyans, surprisingly not directly attacking the Jiralhanae. So you hand control of the dozen soldiers to Raven as they close in on the city, allowing you to focus more attention on the others. The first of your minions to arrive roll up to the Jiralhanae village, the soldiers firing their energy weapons.

“Hold your fire, hold your fire!” you shout, through the rock soldiers’ mouths. They all freeze in surprise, your soldiers taking up positions around their encampment and unfolding themselves.
“Karn?” Tiveus shouts, the Jiralhanae chieftan calls down to you. “What is going on?”
“We’re under attack.” you tell him, speaking to him and his soldiers through the lava warrior. “One of our old enemies has resurfaced, and is trying to wipe my people out. Don’t breathe in that smoke they belch, as it’s lethal. But it’s also flammable, burn that shit away and you’ll be okay.”
“Understood Karn.” he shouts, turning towards his men and begins shouting orders. You direct the molten soldiers to burn any machines and smoke approaching your allies. But with them now set up, your other molten monsters have begun final approaches to their targets.

So which group will you take direct control of first?
>Help Ubo first, he’s fighting on his own

“New Salda, can you control the other groups?” you mentally ask the planet. “I’ll be focusing on the group to the south.”
“Very well.” the avatar says, taking control of the majority from you. Meanwhile you focus, watching through the twelve sets of eyes to the south. And what you see isn’t good. There are now thousands of machines gathered together, belching obscene amounts of smoke into the air. It hovers in the air like a cloud of death, you feeling a chill run up your own spine. But the machines don’t pay any attention to the dozen New Salda’s soldiers, not slowing their smoke spraying to even put their shields up.
“This is almost too easy.” you mutter, having the twelve molten warriors gather most of their energy for an overwhelming opening strike. The twelve soldiers under your control all release their power at once, unleashing waves of New Salda’s radiant ki.

The twelve separate attacks crash into the horde of machines like a wave, destroying more than a hundred of them before any even recognize they are in danger. As the attacks continue smashing more and more of them, they all begin activating their shields. With the enemies now protecting themselves, you end the beams, your twelve golems all mirroring your fighting stance.

“Well then.” you say, directing all twelve to take your fighting stance as they speak with your voice. “Looks like you finally noticed me.”
“Destroy all Saiyans.” many of the robots chorus, a hundred or so rushing the twelve as more begin firing a storm of energy blasts. You direct the twelve to all activate Barriers of their own, each of your soldiers able to use many of your techniques. The energy attacks are nullified by your Barriers, making them completely useless. They hold the shields up until the enemy closes in, then dropping them and meeting the Tuffle machines’ charge.
“HAAAAA!” all twelve shout with your voice, smashing stony fists and knees into the robots. New Salda’s children are far tougher than the robots attacking them, crushing them with blows powerful enough to compare to your own Super Saiyan blows. But despite your soldiers being dozens of times stronger than the machines, they’re outnumbered more than twenty to one.

For each robot they smash, another two takes it’s place. Your soldiers fight valiantly, destroying another hundred or so before they manage to score their first win. Weakened by their opening salvo, and taking blows from all sides, the first of New Salda’s children meets it’s end. One of the machines fires it’s cannon directly in your New Salda soldier’s face. And the attack lands, destroying the soldier’s head. The attack snaps through the link to you, you crying out in pain as you feel it ‘die’ while linked to you.

“Daddy!?” Caulifla shouts in surprise as you fall over, clutching your head.
“It’s okay, I’m fine kiddo.” you say through gritted teeth. “I’m okay. I just lost one.”
“Oh...” she says sadly. “I can’t help them, can I?”
“No, your healing can’t fix them.” you say, Caulifla slumping more. But you can’t focus on your daughter, as New Salda’s children are still fighting. So you switch focus back from your body to theirs, where the molten warriors are getting overwhelmed. Focusing on them, you have them try to retreat, but it’s impossible. They’re surrounded. “Dammit.”

Your soldiers are surrounded, overwhelmed, and getting quickly worn down. If you don’t do something soon, the remaining eleven will not survive as well.

“Burn that smoke away!” you direct them mentally, as you rise up to your feet. “Destroy that now, I’m on my way!”
“Daddy?” Caulifla asks, quickly standing as well. “What’s wrong?”
“I have to go help them, or they’re all going to die.” you say, crouching and blasting off into the air. But as you travel south, you look over your shoulder as Caulifla tries to keep up. “Huh? Caulifla?”
“I’m gonna help too!” she says, and to your surprise she’s not flying. Instead, Triumph has your daughter held in its claws, the Stand actually keeping pace with you.
“KIIIIII!!” her Stand screeches in agreement.
“Alright, but don’t get too close!” you shout, the two of you arriving at the battlefield. In the moments it took you to arrive, another five of the soldiers have been destroyed. You watch as two of them get an opening, unleashing streams of New Salda’s energy at the cloud overhead. But the attacks don’t connect, as more than a dozen of the machines jump between the Destron Gas and the attacks. They intercept the blasts with their shields, protecting the Destron Gas while those two are quickly destroyed.

“Dammit!” you shout, dashing down without hesitation. “Stay back!”
“Right!” your daughter shouts, Triumph cawing and blasting golden flames down on the robots as you charge. “Go Triumph! Burn them all!”
“GRRRAAAAAAA!!” you roar, charging and rushing sword-first into the fray. You stab the Wolf Knight greatsword through one machine’s arm and head, pulling down and cutting through it easily. Your blade splits the first one but you don’t slow down, spinning and slicing another two in half. “Get away from them, you bastards!”
“Saiyan spotted!” more than four dozen robots call out simultaneously. “Destroy all Saiyans!”
“Bring it on!!” you roar, lifting your sword overhead and bisecting the closest robot as the rest charge. “I’ll destroy you!!”

The machines surge towards you, an unstoppable wave of metal and hate coming to end you and your entire race. But you’re not backing down, this is YOUR world! You raise your blade, and with the swift, powerful strikes of the Djem So style begin cutting through the wave. You move with practiced efficiency, each swing of your blade cutting down one or two of the Tuffle robots. But this is a losing proposition, you quickly getting surrounded as they lose all interest in the New Salda soldiers and focus all their attention on you. You move faster and faster, having to pull more and more power through your Champion link with New Salda to keep up. Your body begin glowing a deep green as you pull in more and more power up through your heels, but the energy doesn’t fill only you.

The sword in your hand begins glowing, but not with the green of New Salda’s energy. The razor-sharp edges of the sword begin glowing with a faint blue light, and as you swing it from left to right, the blade surprises you.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=8_8Pk7pwNUI

Your sword howls as you swing it again, cutting through the two rushing Tuffle robots seemingly without any resistance. You blink twice in surprise, freezing for a moment as you look down at the blade in confusion.

“What the-?” you start, before one of the machine’s fists slam into your face and sends you flying backwards. You’re knocked into another’s arms, it trying to crush you. But even without your feet on the ground, your bond with New Salda giving you more than sufficient strength to simply stretch and flex your way out. “HAAAAA!!”
“Destroy all-!” another machine shouts, you slamming your left fist into it’s face. Punching easily through it’s armor, your arm tearing straight through. With your sword in your right hand you thrust, the sword punching straight through another as you tear your left arm free. But as more and more of the mechanical soldiers rush you, you realize that this isn’t going to work out. As you are, it’ll take you far to long to cut them down. Or worse, you could wear yourself out before the main event against Hatchiyak itself begins.

“KIIIIIIII!!” you hear from above you, as golden fire rains down. Catching them by surprise, the machines aren’t able to activate their shields before dozens upon dozens are fried. You take the opening your daughter’s Stand made, leaping up high into the air.
“You okay Daddy?” she asks, you sighing out as the link with New Salda weakens.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” you say, taking a few breaths to steady yourself. “Good timing.”
“Thanks!” she says with a thumbs up, you taking another deep breath before realizing something: you’re not tasting the smoke on the air anymore. Looking around, the black cloud is now gone! “I got rid of the stinky smoke!”
“Good job Caulifla.” you say, your daughter beaming as you ruffle her hair. But the moment is interrupted, you having to once more shield your both with your Barrier. “Now, let’s end these guys.”
“YEAH!!” she shouts, you ending the shield.

But what do you do?
What do you do?
>Rush and attack with your sword, resume cutting them down
>Defend yourself and Caulifla, let her Stand Triumph handle offense

“Let’s take them down from up here kiddo.” you say, gathering your ki into your left hand’s first fingertip.
“Yeah!!” she shouts excitedly, Triumph screeching as it unleashes another wave of golden flames. With your ki focused you swipe your hand, unleashing a powerful cutting Death Slash. Your energy cuts through their energy shields, destroying more than two dozen of them with the wide-angled attack. “Go get ‘em Triumph!”
“KIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!” Triumph caws, you hearing it’s attack changing from it’s usual wide-angle fire blast to the needle-thin piercing beam.
“Good job kiddo, keep it up.” you encourage your daughter, firing a Scatter Beam from your left hand and destroying another several machines as more begin leaping up towards you both. You grab the sword with both hands, channeling your ki through the blade. Once more it glows with that faint blue light, you swinging the blade through the nearest one while trying to fire a Death Slash through it.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=8_8Pk7pwNUI

Once more the blade howls, energy releasing with unexpected results. Instead of the green blade of cutting energy, which is common while in your Champion or Berserker forms, the sword releases a massive pale blue wave of cutting energy. The attack is more than triple the size of what you were expecting from the energy you’d put behind it, the glow vanishing entirely from the blade as the Death Slash flies forth. Your attack cuts down more than a hundred mechanical warriors, slamming into the ground with enough force to kick up a powerful shockwave.

“Woah! That was so cool!” Caulifla says, eyes sparkling as she looks at you and the sword. But your eyes are focused on the blade as well; having not tested the sword’s limits this is quite the discovery. It seems that this ancient sword is very good for channeling some of your attacks through, acting like an energy amplifier. “Can I get one of those too?”
“Who knows?” you reply, unsure just how many of these powerful, ancient swords are out there? And how many have you possibly destroyed over the years, as you destroyed entire races and cleansed planets. “Maybe you’ll find a weapon you like someday too.”
“Okay!” she says happily, again focusing on the battle. You focus your Death Slashes through the sword, causing massive damage on the machines below. You and Caulifla make quick work of the rest, destroying the large force within a few minutes. Once the last still-standing machine is destroyed, Caulifla drops from the air, flopping back-first onto the ground. “Haaah, haaa, we did it!”
cont
>>
>>3927740
“Yeah, we did it.” you reply, landing on the ground beside her. You pull more strength up from the planet, it slowly restoring your spent energy. “But we’re not done yet.”
“Huh?” she asks, eyes not even opening. “What do you mean?”

“This fight is just getting started.” you say, closing your eyes. Focusing your mind, and using New Salda’s enhanced senses, you can see how the battle is progressing. The evacuation seems to be complete, the remaining Saiyan warriors now fully-engaged with the invaders. But your people are outnumbered, hundreds of thousands to one. Despite how many they’re destroying every second, more and more continue to fall from the still-nearby Dark Planet. Ubo hasn’t stopped fighting yet, your giant of a friend still smashing dozens of the machines every second while the New Salda warriors try to burn the smoke away from him. Meanwhile, Bardock’s team has suffered a few casualties, the weaker members of his and Raditz’s teams having been taken down. But with the burning warriors on their side, it gives them a place to fight from without the smoke ending them. Meanwhile, they have begun attacking New Salda’s children you’d set up around the Jiralhanae village, it seems the invaders have recognized them as a threat. “Everyone else is still out there fighting, Caulifla. If you need to take some time to recover, stay here and rest up. You all, stay here and guard her.”
“Okaaay.” she says sleepily, laying down as the remaining molten warriors circle around her. “Byeee, I’ll catch up soon.”

What will you do now?
>Join Bardock, his team needs your help the most urgently
>Join Ubo, you can’t afford for him to fall
>Return to the city, see how you can best help
>Join Tiveus and the Jiralhanae, help protect them
>Take this battle up to the Dark Planet, you’re going to make them regret attacking your world!

They're probably expecting it, honestly, but if we just sit here on the ground we're going to get worn down to nothing. The only way we can put a stop to this is by taking the fight to their base of operations, even if it means walking into a trap. If possible, also

“Freeza, can you hear me?” you ask, telepathically reaching out to your friend. Thankfully you’re able to reach him, the emperor replying to you almost immediately.
“Karn?” Freeza asks, seeming surprised only for a moment. “Vegeta’s already told me what’s going on, I’m on my way now.”
“Good. I’m on my way to this ‘Dark Planet’ now.” you tell him, crouching to gather your strength then blasting into the sky. You quickly boost your speed, faster and faster as you soon approach the edge of New Salda’s atmosphere. “This battle will be over once this bastard Hatchiyack lays dead at my feet. So I’m going on ahead.”
“You know that going alone’s a terrible idea, right?” Freeza asks as you leave the planet behind, your Champion form fading completely. “Dammit Karn, you keep yourself safe, got it?”

“Don’t worry Freeza, I have no plans on dying today.” you tell him, flaring your aura to blast back the cold of space. “After all, you still haven’t fought me with your full golden power yet.”
“I... You...” he replies, completely uncertain for a moment. “I know you won’t.”

With that he ends the telepathic communication, you focusing on the Dark Planet ahead of you. But as you get closer, suddenly dozens of blasts shoot up from the planet’s surface. You don’t have the time to dodge, nor activate your Barrier.

“Shit!” you mutter, crossing your arms just as the beams hit. They actually pierce into your flesh, not completely through you, but inside you just enough to burn. Focusing your ki, you let your energy explode outward, repelling the beams. Focused on the task at hand, you dash again to the Dark Planet, narrowly dodging between the powerful cutting beams. After the initial hit, you manage to make it all the way into the Dark Planet’s atmosphere without taking another strike from the deadly lasers. But as you break through the dark clouds, taking a deep breath, you realize immediately that something’s wrong: this planet’s atmosphere is laced with the taste of Destron Gas!

What do you do?

“Shit, this isn’t good!” you think to yourself. For a moment you consider retreating, using Instant Transmission to get back home. But you stay, focusing your ki and forming your Barrier. It pushes everything out from your body, you taking another deep breath and immediately coughing on another lungful of smoke. “Dammit!”
“What do we have here?” a familiar voice calls out, as suddenly you come face-to-face with an old foe. “As brash and foolish as always, you damn monkey.”
“Dr. Nefarious!” you say, coughing again on the smoke. Dammit, your Barrier wasn’t designed for this sort of work. But that doesn’t mean you’re gonna let Nefarious taunt you without response. “I killed you before, and I’ll do it again!”
“By all means, kill me as many times as you want.” he says, spreading his arms and not even trying to block. “But know this, monkey. You will never leave this planet alive.”

“Oh yeah?” you ask, quickly gathering your ki into your right hand and unleashing a Ki Bomb. The attack strikes the mad Grey in the chest, exploding and consuming him . His body vanishes, destroyed utterly and completely by your attack. “How about that?”
“Was that your best shot?” he asks from behind you. You turn, seeing Nefarious is somehow still standing. And even worse, it looks like your attack did nothing to the mad doctor. To your surprise, he pulls what looks like a Covenant Energy Sword from his robes, holding it blade-first towards you. “I’m going to enjoy killing you with my own hands, Karn.”
“As if you could kill me.” you say, swinging your Wolf Knight sword with one hand. The blade decapitates Nefarious before he can move, you watching as his body turns to dark smoke. “Wait, what?”
“You poor, dumb monkey.” Nefarious taunts, the smoke reforming into his body as you cough again. “You’re already dead, and too stupid to know it! Muuuhahahahahahaa-!”
“Shut up!” you shout, cutting him down again and again. But your sword does no permanent damage, each time you ‘kill’ him he simply reforms out of the damn smoke. ”No matter what scheme you plan, I’ll kill y-!”

Suddenly your instincts scream at you that you’re in danger, spinning and swinging the greatsword horizontally behind you. Your blade strikes a familiar golden energy blade, and as you see the wielder your eyes widen in surprise.

“Oh?” the Arbiter asks, the creature still bearing the scar over his right eye from your first fight. “But can you beat us all?”

“Y-You?” you ask, stunned. You weren’t expecting to come face-to-face with him again. You had always kind of expected Nefarious would pop up again, but not the Arbiter. And with you this close to him, this could get ugly fast. “How-?”
“Am I alive?” he asks with a menacing chuckle. “Well, I suppose it’s all thanks to you, Karn. Had I not hated you as much as I do, I would’ve never got my chance for vengeance!”

As he shouts, he draws his left-hand sword and swings right for your neck. You barely dodge the attack, leaning back and twisting away from his surprise cut. You couldn’t evade his attack completely, the blade cutting into your left jawbone.

“Tch!” you exhale, releasing your ki in an Explosive Wave to get you some distance. But the Arbiter is as strong as ever, your attack not budging him a single inch.
“WEAK!” he roars, following up his left with a right-handed thrust for your heart.
“You won’t kill me so easily!” you shout, swatting his attack aside with your Wolf Knight greatsword. Were it a contest of power against power, you wouldn’t have won and would now be cut open. But Bane’s Djem So style blocks use your opponent’s power against them, knocking them off balance and creating openings they wouldn’t otherwise leave. “You couldn’t kill me while you were still alive, and I’m now several times stronger than when we fought. What makes you think you can kill me now?”

“You already feel it, don’t you?” Nefarious taunts from behind you. “This Destron Gas was specifically engineered to kill you filthy monkeys, to poison and weaken you enough that us Ghost Warriors can destroy you! Muhahahahaa!”
“Because of you, the Covenant has fallen.” the Arbiter says, venom in his voice. “And for that sin, you must die by my hand!”

“You think a little gas will stop me?” you ask tauntingly, taking a deep breath. “Hoooooooooaah!!”

Focusing on your breathing, you take in a deep, full breath of the Destron Gas-tainted air. You taste the poison entering your body, but it doesn’t seep in. You begin glowing with the brilliant radiance of Hamon, both phantoms shielding their faces from you. You exhale with the Hamon-styled breathing, a dark cloud leaving your body as you breathe out.

“What?” Nefarious shouts, clearly stunned. “You, you can’t do that! The Destron Gas should destroy you!”
“If you thought some bad air could kill me, you’re sorely mistaken.” you reply, the Arbiter not saying anything and simply rushing in to cut you down. Clenching your fists, you focus your ki deep within you. You hadn’t realized just how much harder the Destron Gas was making it to focus your ki, but before the Arbiter could travel five feet you transform. “GRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!”

Your body explodes outward, muscles expanding as your body overflows with overwhelming power. Your strength multiplies several hundred times over, the golden glow of Hamon overshadowed by the green of your Berserker ki. Your sudden explosion of power blows the Arbiter and Nefarious away, the two unable to withstand your full, unrestrained power. Lightning dances along your aura, crackling violently as you finish transforming.

“I told you, I’m several times stronger than when I killed you.” you say, taking another breath. Focusing on your Hamon breathing while also holding your Ascended Berserker’s rage in check is actually less difficult than you’d expected, the focus on breathing helping calm your mind. Lifting your left hand, you gather your ki into a Ki Bomb and fire it. The Arbiter tries to cut the blast with his sword, but on contact it explodes and consumes him. “You can’t beat me now.”
“Oh really?” he asks, reforming himself right where he’d just been standing. “So the gas won’t weaken you, but how long can you keep that up? I’ll still wear you down and cut out your heart!”

“Sorry, but I’m not dying today.” you reply confidently, as you devise a plan to wipe them out for good. You smirking, the Arbiter realizes something’s up and charges you. But he’s too slow, you leaping into the air and summoning your Stand. “Dragon Force!”
“GRRROOOOOOOAAAAAR!!” your Stand roars, it’s massive muscular form appearing around you. While in your Ascended Berserker form it’s normal size has doubled, you less than the size of one of it’s eyes.

“It’s over.” you say, unleashing your Stand’s purging flames. With a roar, Dragon Force unleashes an unstoppable stream of fire down at the two phantoms. Neither can escape, the fire obliterating their smoky forms. The Destron Gas burns, your flames quickly spreading to cover sizable area. The very air around you catches fire, burning away the darkness. But after several seconds of spreading fire, the flames burning the smoke around you all begin to burn themselves out. You watch curiously, ending the attack and banishing your Stand to conserve your energy. You do still have to fight Hatchiyack after this. You watch as the Destron Gas begins quickly rolling back into the area you’d purged, and after a few seconds the Arbiter and Nefarious begin reforming as well. “Wait, what?”

“Did you think that you could destroy us that easily?” Nefarious taunts, as you take another deep breath. The Arbiter leaps up at you, drawing his blades and trying to cut you down. You focus, breathing out and meeting his dual blades with your greatsword.
“You will die, Saiyan.” he says, snarling in your face. You force him back with your blade, the Arbiter not giving up and attacking you with an unrelenting ferocity. Forced onto the defensive, you manage to keep his blades from cutting you. But as he presses the attack, your concentration on your Hamon breathing falters. Your next breath you take fills your lungs with the Destron Gas, and without Hamon flowing through you, it chokes you up. Coughing on the gas, your defenses falter; the Arbiter attacking the opening. “Rraaaa!!”

“Dammit!” you snarl, narrowly twisting away from a lethal blow. His right-handed blade cuts across your chest and left shoulder. His sword bites deep, your blood spraying out of you. But before he can follow up the attack, you swing down with your sword and cut him in two. You back up as he reforms from the smoke, taking several quick breaths before you’re able to resume your Hamon breathing.
“You will die here, Saiyan.” the Arbiter taunts, bringing his blade soaked in your blood to his mouth and licking it. “This is the end.”

I’d almost say that searching for something making the gas on an entire planet putting off the gas is pointless, but if there is a lot of output points coming from a main source maybe burning one of those points could cause some real damage to the whole system

“Dammit, this is getting me nowhere.” you think to yourself, focusing on keeping your breathing going. No matter how many times you kill them, they’ll just pulling themselves back together. And even if you burn the smoke away, more just keeps rolling in. So until you can destroy whatever’s generating this smoke, you won’t achieve anything more than tiring yourself out. You see the Arbiter’s eye narrow, crossing his blades and charging. “Out of my way!”

You fire an Energy Javelin into him, it exploding and temporarily destroying him. With the Arbiter distracted by pulling himself back together you take off, flying away in the opposite direction. You fly close to the ground, hopefully to see whatever’s generating the Destron Gas. And so you do, blasting away from them and hunting the Destron Gas generators. And after a few seconds, you find the first one. It’s spherical in design, held to the ground by four main arms and belching two wide columns of the lethal smoke into the air from a pair of ports.

“Found you.” you mutter, gathering your ki and firing a Ki Bomb down at it. Your attack slams into it and explodes, kicking up a cloud of dust. After several seconds, you realize that it’s fine. You see it has a shield, much like the metal soldiers you were fighting before. So you pull your right arm back, and gather your ki to unleash an Energy Javelin. “HRRAAAA!”

Your spear flies down and slams into the shield, piercing it and slamming into the machine. A moment later your attack explodes, destroying the red ball-like machine. As it detonates the fires burn the smoke, clearing out several feet in every direction from it before the fires burn out. You sigh out, taking a moment to refocus your breathing before moving on. You scour the planet, hunting down the red spherical machines and obliterating them one by one. After more than a dozen minutes have passed, you feel confident that you’ve destroyed them all outside the fortress. After scouring the planet, you’d found only one building not leveled.

“Well, looks like this is it.” you say, staring at the colossal fortress. Hatchiyack is in there, and the time has come for you to fight. The true battle for the fate of New Salda is about to begin!

Karn MVP. Destroying a dark planet’s worth of destron gas has to have been a good move, because you just know hatchiyak would have been willing to crash land it on salda to spread the gas that way.

Kinda. His strength is limited like every other member of his race: by the available sunlight, and what he knows he can do. Raven has been helping him discover some of his abilities, but the process is slow. He still believes he needs to breathe, after all.

Yes, but he was still ‘breathing‘ in space. If someone were to choke him, he would pass out if he couldn’t break himself free, even though he doesn’t actually need oxygen. Kryptonians are mostly only limited by their perceived limits, after all. And ever since your first fight with him, he believes that you’re stronger than him.

Huh. Really? I mean, we might be, but given sufficient solar charge up time I would argue otherwise? I mean, when we were training to control Berserker and Ascended Berserker, he was helping to keep us occupied right? Besides he was going to toe to toe with Akuma, badly I admit, but he was atleast fighting the guy when he casually broke Karn's arm.

But that’s wrong. If you’re the strongest, everyone comes to rely on you and leave you with little chance to relax and enjoy yourself. >>3930734
>there's still always stupid shit trying to kill off all he holds dear.
Exactly. And right now, besides Golden Freeza, Karn is the single-strongest active fighter in the seventh universe. And Karn has plenty of worries keeping him up. Majin Buu and Moro aren’t active, and neither are Bojack or Hirudegarn. Yet.

Yeah no, as we saw with fucking Majin Bulla, Majin Buu is fucking terrorfying simply because of their regeneration. Fat Buu we could maybe deal with, if we got to him before he absorbed anyone else, but thats a very big maybe between bullshit like his Candy Beam, and Regeneration/Magic Yes.

Goku claimed that, had he put 100% of his Super Saiyan 3 power into one big enough attack while he still had his halo, he PROBABLY could have destroyed Buu. And that’s only probably. You can’t beat Buu in a stamina match, you’d have to absolutely obliterate him down to the last molecule.

I secretly hope Karn experiences death, possibly even in this fight, simply because that would have a very interesting effect on our allies and their goals. It could be cool to see what Karn does in the afterlife before his resurrection, assuming that Frieza’s search for a way to bring back his friend bears fruit. It’d be a neat way of reconnecting with the friends we’ve lost along the way, too. And you just know that it would inspire quite a few of our allies to new levels of power out of grief.

Yes. And also yes. Depending on the damage, and not immediately. He’d enjoy the realm he cleansed of all other gods and mortals for a time, before moving onto another. Although if he tried to exterminate mortals in certain other universes, he would actually perish.

Yeah, which can be terrible depending on the state of our towa's allies at the time, or if there is some confederation of evil towas that want to throw a half dozen Omega Shenron's at us or something, but I'm going to focus on the positives of the situation which are that Towa, Future Chaya, and our Demon Kids can all visit/live in our timeline whenever they want now.

Not quite. That’d just be asking to be attacked, as many of the Towas would gleefully use them as hostages.

As it stands now, I will hopefully have this week’s epilogue up later tonight around 8-9PM EST, so stay tuned! And while you wait, a question. What’s an enemy defeated by either you or your fellow Saiyans that you’ve already forgotten about, who has enough hate in their heart to return?

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 108 Epilogue-

AGE 748, NEW SALDA

BANG, BANG, BANG, click

“Dammit!” you snarl, as your rifle runs dry yet again. With no time to reload and a half-dozen of the mechanical warriors rapidly closing in, you’re forced to engage them in close quarters. As the nearest one pulls back it’s right arm to swing, you focus your magical energy into your rifle’s bayonet and leap. Before the machine can smite you with it’s arm, you jump into it’s face, swinging for it’s neck. “Die!!”

Your magic-infused bayonet slices easily through the robot’s metal neck, decapitating it in a single swing like a hot knife through butter. But taking down one doesn’t even slow the rest, the remaining five still charging right for you.

“Dammit! I hate enemies without any sense of self-preservation.” you mutter, kicking off the robot high into the air and drawing your left-handed pistol. You are Tanya Degurechaff, Major in the Empire’s army, Dreadzone Exterminator, and currently battling alongside Dreadzone’s Champion Chaya to protect her homeworld. Sighting in the next-closest machine warrior, you pull the trigger and unleash a burst of fire and death. More than two dozen shots fire out in a second; but with your Dreadzone-made pistols firing energy shots instead of actual projectiles, the enemies’ shields absorb the blasts harmlessly. “SHIT!”

“Death to the Saiyan sympathizer!” the robot shouts, lifting its right arm and firing it’s quad blaster at you. With no time to run or dodge, you’re forced to block the powerful attack head-on. Thankfully your shield holds, the blast kicking up a wall of smoke between you and your pursuers. This gives you just enough time to sling your rifle, holster your pistol, and draw your assault rifle. The heavy weapon you’d gotten from that one musclehead demon slayer is too heavy to be carried casually, but right now you’re glad that you brought it with you. You don’t waste the energy to aim the weapon, holding it at the ready by your hip. And as the machines charge through the smoke, you open fire.

“DIE! DIE DIE DIE!!” you roar, pulling the trigger. Your Lancer MkII rifle unleashes death, filling the approaching machines with lead. Within three seconds, you’ve filled the five machines with lead, dealing enough damage to cause them to self-destruct. Coughing on the smoke of the machines exploding you fly up, slinging the heavy assault weapon back over your shoulder. It sticks effortlessly to the magnetic plate you’d had installed, you then unslinging and reloading your trusty rifle with a weary sigh. “Running low on ammo, I’ll have to go stock up soon.”
>>
>>3935656
“Hey, Chaya! Running low on bullets here.” you say into your scaled-down scouter once you’ve reloaded your weapon. “How’re you doing?”
“Huh? Oh, if you gotta go stock up I’ll hold them off.” she replies, a moment later the golden blur of your ally dashing to right before you. “I’ll watch over the ship!”
“Thanks. And try not to get pulled too far out.” you reply, dropping back down towards Karn’s large, badly-damaged ship. “I can’t shield myself if they blow it all up.”
“Ah-Hey!” she shouts, but you don’t acknowledge her outrage. You simply fly down to the ship, walking through the large hole in the former engine room. “Better be quick, or I’ll have all the fun!!”

“You can have it.” you mutter sourly, walking deeper into the ship. You ignore the bodies still inside the engine room, hurrying along(but not too quickly) towards your own room. As you walk down the halls you take a moment to appreciate the large spacecraft. Back in your original world, this craft would have cost billions, no trillions of dollars. And Karn, the ship’s ‘owner’, has no appreciation for this feat of engineering. These Saiyans, even after all the time you’ve recently spent among them, are still an enigma to you. They have the power to effectively conquer the universe, hell Karn could defeat Freeza himself and ascend the throne if he wanted to. But he has no aspirations, the man content to sit on one planet and focus on self-improvement and raising his army of children. You’d tried talking about it with him before, but the man really has no desire to rule anything. Hell, you found out that he could have been King of the Saiyans, but instead of taking the throne himself passed the crown on to Vegeta, who at the time was younger than some of his kids.

“Morons. Every last one.” you mutter to yourself, taking your empty magazines out one-by-one. Reloading them one bullet at a time, this gives you some time to think and replenish your magical energy. Why would anyone seek out the hardship of battle? War is a terrifying, brutal experience that throws away countless lives and capital. Yet the Saiyans thrive on combat, you’ve noticed that even with Chaya who, by their standards, is still only a kid. The longer she goes without fighting, the more anxious and irritated she visibly gets. Almost as if she’s addicted to combat. Minute by minute ticks by, the only sounds are of your own breathing, metal sliding across metal, and the occasional distant explosion from the battle. Suddenly, as you finish loading the last magazine, you hear several footsteps down the hall, and they’re coming towards you!
>>
>>3935658
Slapping the magazine in and racking the slide, you rush to your door and press the lock. Pressing your ear to the door, you focus your senses on listening.

“-out there getting our revenge?” one voice asks, the deep-sounding voice clearly male. “This is our chance!”
“We have to make sure that Saiyan bastard can’t flee.” another says, sounding rather old. Whoever these people are, your scouter isn’t picking anything up. What’s going on? “We have to make sure this ship stays grounded. Search the rooms, and kill anyone here.”
“SIR!!” maybe a dozen voices call out together, your worry increasing. You can’t avoid a fight, looks like you’ll have to take them on. But that doesn’t mean you have to be stupid about it. You back away from the door quietly, taking up a position on the other side of your bed with your rifle aimed at the door. Several seconds later you hear someone bang on your door, the reinforced metal holding against the creature. Time to put your acting chops to work.

“Someone help me!” you call out, emphasizing the childishness in your voice. “I’m scared!”
“There’s one in here!” a voice calls from the other side of the door, you aiming down your sights. As soon as he comes through, you’re gonna blast him straight back to hell! “HAAAA!!”

BOOM

A powerful blast knocks your door off it’s track, the metal door flying past and into the wall behind you. You see a large, winged creature with it’s right arm out, it trying to find you. But it never sees you, the large beast’s head exploding as you pull the trigger. Several shouts are heard, leaping back as the being you killed turns to smoke. Wait, what?

“WINGS!?” several voices call out in surprise.
“The hell?” you mutter, jaw dropping as the creature re-forms it’s body from the black smoke. “Shit, this is bad!”
“Alright, where are you, you-!” he starts, you firing again and once more destroying his head. His body once more turns to that black smoke for a moment, before it again begins re-forming. “Dammit! That shit hur-!”

Again you obliterate his head, thinking furiously. Whatever he is, you can’t beat him as you are. But you’re cornered, and there are even more outside the door. What the hell can you do?

“You’re dead!” the figure calls out, but doesn’t rush through the door. Instead, just as his body begins forming, he leaps out of the doorway. You no longer have a shot, the enemies nowhere within your line of sight. You know they’re coming, you have to get out of here!
>>
>>3935661
You realize, almost too late, that your enemies are moving out around you. From the sounds you hear, both doors to either side of your room slide either open or shut. So with only moments to act, you pull the pin on a smoke grenade, toss it onto your bed, then turn to the vent. Leaping up, you pull the vent’s door loose and quickly squirm your way inside. As the red smoke from your grenade begins filling the room, you pull the panel back into place, and wait. You aren’t held in suspense long, a different alien smashing through both walls as another two come up from the floor, and a fifth smashes down through the ceiling. No two aliens look alike, the large one you’d shot several times is the one coming up from the floor. They all look around wildly, none seeing you as you silently back away through the vent.

“What the hell?” the big, dumb one says. “Where’d she go?”
“She can’t have gone far Wings” a smaller, blue-skinned alien says. “There’s only one way in. Metamacha, did anyone leave?”
“No one came out the door.” another alien calls out as you continue your silent retreat. You look back over your shoulder, coming to the first intersection. You see the mark Chaya’d made, remembering the first time she’d taken you into the vents. Despite your warnings she’d charged in, exploring a side of the ship she’d never seen. But to you it looked like any other ductwork, utilitarian at best. But this wasn’t a part of the ship to be seen by clients, so it wasn’t even painted. But now you follow the path through the vents, it leading you right to the ship’s medical bay. But you don’t burst through immediately, watching to see if anyone comes in. And sure enough:

“Come out, come out, wherever you are!” someone calls, the figure trying to kick down the door as it slides open. Instead of knocking it out of track, the man’s kick warps the door, preventing it from opening any wider as he steps through. The human-looking creature then starts to sniff the air, wandering through the room. “I know you’re in here, little rat. I can smell your fear. Come to Daiz, I’ll make sure you don’t have to worry about a thing.”
“Dammit, now what?” you think, trying to find a way out of this mess. You have to escape the ship, but how? Bullets don’t seem to affect these guys, you have to find some sort of weakness. But what? Suddenly you remember the telepathic message you’d received from the planet’s Guardian, that witch Raven.
>>
>>3935667
“Attention, everyone.” she’d spoken telepathically, not long after you and Chaya had arrived and joined the battle. “Stay clear of the black smoke. It is a poison called Destron Gas, and will kill you if you inhale too much. The gas is flammable, burning it away is your best chance for survival.”
“Burning, huh?” you mutter under your breath, pulling one of the grenades from your belt. It’s not quite an open flame, but it should do the trick. At least long enough to let you get outside, where you’ll have more options. “Here goes something.”

Click

The metal clinks as you pull the pin, the seconds feeling like aeons stretching out in your head as the warrior begins wandering closer.

“There you are.” he says as he hears the pin, walking right towards you as you count down the seconds in your head. Just a few more steps now. “And here I thought you were going to make things difficult for me. How’d you get all the way down here, away fro-Huh?”
“Sayonara.” you say, kicking the vent cover off and throwing the stick grenade at him. With less than a second left you back further into the vent, plugging your ears against the boom to come. And a boom it is, the sound magnified several times by the enclosed space of Karn’s ship. But as the blast consumes your foe, you dash from the vents and head towards the mangled door. With a little bit of luck, you can evade them all and- “Oof!”

“Well well, look what we got here.” a cloaked figure says as you turn into the doorway and bounce off of him, the surprise impact knocking you flat on your ass. Looking up shocked, you see a wrinkled old, green-skinned alien grinning at you with a smile missing most of his teeth. “Looks like I caught our little mouse.”
“SHIT!!” you think to yourself, furiously trying to figure some way out of this situation. With his ally being blown apart by the grenade, and the speed with with the one who’s head you destroyed reformed, you figure it’ll be around ten seconds before he’s reformed. And as old as the being before you seems, you believe yourself to be faster. You just need to get him out of arm’s reach of the doorway, and you can escape him. Time to rely on one of your best skills!

“Ahhhh! Help me!” you shout, really emphasizing the childishness in your voice as you back up. You act all timid, doing your best to appear frail and non-threatening. “Someone help, there’s monsters everywhere!”
“Nice try.” the old alien replies, eyes glowing red for an instant before firing a pair of beams at you. “Die.”
>>
>>3935670
With only a split-second to move, you drop down to all fours. The beams fly just over your head as you drop, but you can’t stay here. You push yourself back up off the ground, narrowly dodging the cloaked figure’s large boot smashing into the ground where you were. You grab your rifle in both hands, sighting in the figure’s still-covered head. But before you can fire, his left arm stretches out, swatting you aside and sending you crashing into the far wall.

“SHIT!!” you cry out, feeling something in your left shoulder pop as you crash into the wall. You rebound slightly, and before you can move his stretchy hand reaches out and grabs you by the throat. “Ack!”
“Nice try kid.” the cloaked form says, slowly walking towards you. Dropping your rifle, you draw one of your energy pistols and pull the trigger. It spews fire and death, yet your attacks can’t seem to hit. He crosses his other arm before him, your pistol’s shots hitting some sort of shield between you and him. “But you can’t fool me. Your eyes are the eyes of a fighter. So you must die. Say your prayers, child.”

https://youtube.com/watch?v=JzOSuoEAKVk

“Oh, lord, forgive this sinner.” you say, closing your eyes and offering a prayer to activate your cursed Elenium Type-95. Years ago, you’d been cursed to carry this cursed jewel. To access it’s full power you are forced to pray, another ploy by that damnable Being X. But it seems that the cloaked form isn’t aware of what you’re doing, letting you finish your prayer without interruption out of some sort of misplaced respect for religion. But you’ll use this to your full advantage, and take this opportunity. All’s fair in war, after all. “And take him gratefully into your arms, as I send you to him.”
“Wait, wha-?” the figure asks, leaning back as you open your eyes once more. His eyes meet yours, you unable to avoid smirking at his surprise.

“Amen.” you say, pulling the trigger on your pistol once more. Instead of the usual stream of small, fast projectiles, enhanced by the full power of the Type-95 your pistol unleashes a wide-angled beam of energy. Your foe vanishes, consumed almost entirely by the resulting blast. You end the attack after two seconds, the enemy’s arm turning to smoke as his body is destroyed. You’re dropped back to the ground, not hesitating for a moment. You holster the pistol, grab your rifle and dash from the room. You fly down the halls, moving almost faster than you can react before flying through the former engine room and escaping the ship. But, unfortunately, the situation isn’t much better out here.
>>
>>3935672
In the minutes you’d been inside, the situation outside of the ship has clearly deteriorated. The robots are no longer raining down from the sky, instead you see more than a dozen round, red machines all attached to the ground and spewing more of that deadly smoke. In the air above you, Chaya is fighting several different forms, two of which seem to be Covenant Sangheili! She’s holding her own, avoiding their blades and turning them to smoke with precise attacks. But each one she defeats re-forms in seconds, your ally making no headway.

“Dammit, I’m not getting paid enough for this.” you mutter, slinging your rifle on your right shoulder as you clasp your left wrist between your ankles. Hesitating for a moment, you know that relocating your shoulder like this is going to hurt like hell. But you have no choice, straightening your legs and feeling your left shoulder pop. “GRRYAAAA!! FUCK FUCK FUCK!!”
“There you are.” the cloaked figure’s voice calls out from behind you. Turning, you seeing him materializing from the smoke. “I must admit, you got me child. Had I still been alive, you would have defeated me. But no longer!”

The figure tosses his cloak aside, revealing a large-framed man in a yellow-and-purple suit.

“I, the great Lord Slug, am now immortal!” he roars, eyes glowing again just before he fires his Eye Beams. You easily dodge, smirking at how easy his attacks are to dodge before you realize something: he wasn’t aiming for you!
“Chaya! Move!” you shout, turning and shouting but it’s too late. She turns just in time to get hit by Slug’s attack, it vaporizing one of the Sangheili before striking the Saiyan woman. You turn back to the figure, just in time to take a heavy left fist to your jaw. It sends you flying down, crashing down hard to the ground.
“Aaahahahaha!” Slug laughs maniacally, your eyes widening as he begins pulling the dark smoke to him and growing. Larger and larger he gets, until he’d even tower over an Oozaru. “You damn apes will all kneel before me!!”
“D-Dammit.” you mutter, head ringing from being slammed down to the ground. If someone doesn’t stop this monster, he’ll destroy everything! Where’s Karn? But just as you wonder this, a small figure appears before the titanic Slug “Huh?”
“Oh, blackness shrouded in light. Frenzied blaze clad in night.” the figure calls out in a familiar voice. You watch as the entirety of Slug’s form is surrounded by several magical circles. The magical power radiating from that lone figure is amazing, you begin to wonder if that Saiyan brat has surpassed you? “The time has come! Now, awaken from your slumber, and by my madness, be wrought!”

”EXPLOSION!!”
>>
>>3935675
Your vision goes white, everything consumed by a blast of unbelievable magical power. You’d seen some powerful magical attacks in your day, but this Explosion spell was on another level. As your vision slowly returns, you see that Slug is no more. The lone figure, golden aura radiating out around him as Chilli turns and begins descending towards you.

“Hey, Tanya, you okay?” the golden-haired boy asks, holding a hand down towards you. You hesitate a second before taking his hand with your left, letting him pull you upright. “Good, you’re okay. I saw him hit you, and feared the worst.”
“It takes more than one lousy punch to take me down.”
“That was so cool!!” Chaya shouts, dashing over to her brother excitedly. She’s almost bouncing up and down, eyes wide with excitement. “I didn’t know your magic was so powerful!”
“I’d never tried something so powerful.” he says, you noticing his magical power has dropped significantly. You begin wondering how many more of those massive blasts he has left, and as you take a breath you realize that the air tastes cleaner. His fiery blast seems to have actually cleared out the smoke in the air nearby, looking around you notice the red machines are still pumping gas.

“Alright, enough slacking off you two!” you shout, shouldering your rifle. You take aim, and after a moment fire a magically-enhanced rifle round. The shell easily pierces the shield, striking the red smoke-generating machine and exploding. Your shot destroys the machine, you turning back to the two Saiyans. Come on, we’ve got a job to do!”
“RIGHT!!” they both shout, flaring their golden auras up. This battle’s far from over; but with allies like these, you’re going to make it through this hell. You can’t die here, you refuse to let that asshole Being X win! You’ll take him down one day, no matter what it takes!

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 108 Epilogue End-
>>
>>3935676
damn that epilogue was good, I wasn't expecting Tanya to go full Solid Snake.
>>
If we bite the bullet, we're personally handing Slug and his men the bill for all the shit they broke in our ship. Same for that mouse.
Also, we gotta get our hands on one of those magical pistols at one point.
And before you say "But Karn can throw out a ki blast much stronger than any enchanted pistol!", it'd be used as a method of last resort.
Even something as simple as a bog-standard energy weapon can take down a god if they aren't looking.
>>
>>3935683
Tanya is a very clever fighter. And she knows when to gtfo.
>>3935707
That scene will never NOT piss me off. The show handled it better, having Goku power down to base first. That scene, Gotenks, and Ginyu were all done much better in the show than the movie.
>>
>>3935740
Still, you gotta agree that having a back-up weapon isn't a terrible option.

Hey GD, i was just re-reading one of my favourite scenes again, and i was just wondering.
What was meloka thinking when karn first ascended? When she felt his energy explode like that?
This was all before the whole time patrol fuckery, before super saiyan 3 or 4 and karn's legendary forms. Back then all we knew about was super saiyan, and then karn went and did that. I just wonder what was running through her head in that moment.
