" Virgins, it's time you got to taste first blood. Unfortunately this is an assignment that came with a few ... complications.

Firstly, two field civilians have sent out a long range beacon, Orbital-even. To trigger such a wide range beacon in the middle of homespace endangers our own. The price for such an act is [de-corping]. Nevertheless, they know the laws of this space and should be prepared to accept consequences. I would have you hear them out , or deliver the killing blow, the order doesn't matter, but your resolve does.
Orbital will retrieve their memory chips either way.

Now The Most pressing matter, Our cursory heatscans have tracked a small amount of Xenoform activity, investigate the site, track down those civilians and leave in short order. Dismissed. "

[Due to technical difficulties, WorldTree Heaven was discontinued for a variety of reasons.
Not the least of which involved an unarchived thread, taxing processing times, and high demand for onboarding. With this experience it is my hope to deliver the same range of gameplay with faster turnaround times and less demand on players. Thank you for your patience. ]

Suit Energy can be recharged at docking stations if built. Normally our good star provides that energy, but not in a way that is fast enough once a battle has met. If there is a [MULE] among you, they are proficient in laying down the foundations for such.

am i correct to assume that the limited use abilities are self contained actions that require an act point to invoke
as opposed to modifiers that are simply declared to augment an action and therefore not cost an act point (i.e. optimize augments shoot actions, fly and breach augments move actions)?

"Bulge you didnt need to reload per say. [Burst] shoots 2 per 1 ammo consumed while [Auto] shoots 4 per 2 ammo consumed. You shot Burst twice last turn consuming 2/4 ammo. You shoot [Burst] again? You've now used 3/4 of your ammo in the C.B.R. Alternatively you could've shot [Auto] to consume 4/4 of the ammo in your gun & the reload. >About botting from now on
If you DON'T want to be botted, do tell. I personally know some dont want to be botted. Remember though that bots can be overwritten by the player. TA's are also welcome to help in botting. But most of all its better if you can show up & do your own action or at least give directioning on how your botting should go. Mistakes can & WILL be made when botting. From now on if at least 60% of the team is avaible for lightning phases, botting will go through unless the 1stCO says otherwise.

Act Phase.
PSI Comm has allowed us 12+ Hours to execute. The Developments in this planet is now being threaded in 20 different Command Centers. Back Up will arrive Tomorrow. Your mission remains as is. Use whatever means to accomplish it and escape.

Bones: We can't let this chance slip ! We found a door to an ancient colony if the enemy was to colonize here we'd be far behind !

Diagona: Ancient ? What are you getting at ? What's a few broken relics to these creatures ?

Bones: Know you our ancient Landers, they used ships that were built to last for more than a millenia. A Millennia ! Do you know what takes that long to travel to ??!

Diagona: . . . . !!!!

Diagona: To even mention it- You are as careless as your Father !

Durandal: Keep it down, I'm finally about to crack the frequency !

Diagona: SO THIS WAS A RUSE !

Durandal: Yup. And it worked. It got you out here didn't it ? Not like an SOS would.

Knight Command: Principal Diagona, you are exhibiting levels of stress.

Diagona: . . . Hmph. So I am. Durandal is it ? Be plain, what is it that you found here that would cause you to commit the highest of crimes to our people's safety.

Durandal: It's as my daughter said, Buried in these ruins is something that must not fall to the enemy. Surely someone up top would know of it. I sent many missives and got nothing. Then I noticed that the animals were disappearing. Im sure I dont have to tell you what comes after.

Diagona: Indeed, but this area is far beyond our ken. My Adepts will do the honor of taking you in Warm or Cold, but the martial authority here is for the WarHead to decide. You can make your case there.

Durandal: At last ! A breakthrough. In that case do something about that little stampede while I keep that Queen Egg from hatching and sending us all to an endless nightmare hellscape.

>Act Phase.

Knight Command: It seems you are dealing with 2 new life forms:

A Herculean Husk, has about the same durability as our tanks. Its size makes them equal terrors on the ground. They have two distinct targets, their Mandibles and their base. Their front armor is considered durable but it is rare for a flanking opportunity to present itself.

Then we have what seems to be human borne xenoforms. Its advised that you kill these as soon as possible. Mothmen boast excellent speed, cloaking, and the ability to use short range psionics on its immediate targets.
However that's not what makes them dangerous. As you have observed, these creatures can metabolize and evolve on the spot, a xenoform based on our own physiology should not come to fruit in any iteration !

TO ALL UNITS I AM INPUTTING AN ACTION FREEZE UNTIL I & YOU CAN COME UP WITH A PROPER PLAN BEFORE ACTING LIKE A HERD OF CATS. BEFORE DOING SOMETHING AND ACTING I ASK THAT YOU VOICE WHAT YOU WILL DO BEFORE DOING IT. This won't apply to the fire team of the 3 Marines near Doctor bones for they have their own job already assigned. (Also I need to sleep. I'll be back to assign proper objectives to you all in 10-11 hours from now so do discuss your options. All acts will be null in void till I give the ok for this turn.)
>>
>And action freeze. See you in a few hours for proper orders.
>>
My advice is that the two bitanks flank left and focus fire on the left hercules. Vanguards go right and try to tie up the other one and these xeno warriors. Bug spray on the big bugs' locations would also help.

Everything else should probably focus on blowing the infested ship to hell and back. Thermobaric grenades if needed, fire, etc. Overkill is recommended.
>>
Per CO directive,
Orders are nixed. You may still choose to override, however doing so puts you at disciplinary risks.

Disciplinary Risks: Field.
- Collar Detonations
- Collar Shocks
- Disenfranchisement.
>>
>>3950594
All I ask is that the tanks give me time to leave the AoE before shooting. As for my other actions, I can slash the Hercules twice, or lob a grenade inside the dropship and block the exit (there's still another exit though)
>>
Easy.

Bit tank split and move or jump to flank the big ones. Doctor Paroxysm, throw some grenades in the ship to deal with the small ones. We will need to flank these hostiles to do acceptable damage. Bts, launch neurotoxin shells into their flanks post move to reduce their action capabilities.
Ground infantry, deal with warriors first. Vangard Ullyanka, small, move to strike its flank or attack the small bugs.

One bit tank per big monster. If they turn around the infantry can now flank. If they move, they are tank reared.
>>
>>3950557
Alright, I understand how movement works now.

>>3950594
Alright knight command, do you want me to engage or protect? I could flank the eastward biggy, or just set up a one man shield wall against him to cover the squad's rear.

A warrior history of Husks.
Fear not the 4 tusks but the warriors that will follow and the beast that wields it. It’s said that this creature framed its form a herculean stag of similar size. If true, it would be a creature that lived in a planet rich in ozone and relies heavily on the breath of life. Tenno the hunter saw the damage it dealt to his brothers who rode steedback against it in the open plains, only to be out charged by its massive jaws and rent in twain. despite their Duralium weapons. Seeing this, he goaded it to charge straight into a miasma until its lungs melted and Tenno went blind from its impurities.

As for these.. Mothmen Im sure you heard the stories, about cloaked men who stand meters high as shadows that loom behind you. Tenno the warrior would be the first to hunt an infested town, his reliance on sound and whispers made him as dangerous as the next able sighted man in defeating them. Staring directly at a mothman, he claims, was the downfall that lead to the towns’ demise. For the moment you do, no memory exists of what occurs afterward , if there is an afterward at all.

Just move down in and wide swing the entrance while you still can attempting to kill both the Moths and their tiny larvae. Then block the entrance by blocking or attempt another swing a 'em. We'll worry about Grenades.

>>3950031
Semper, would kindly move your drone so it can cut the enemies inside the dropship? If you need me to be more precise, I would like it if you can cut the Moths, Larvae & the egg before they do real damage.
>>3949703
Doc, I need you to get a grenade in there & start killing the BIG egg, whatever it is. I don't want it to even have a chance at doing anything. Poisoning it would also be a boon to us.

Respectfully, it's an unknown enemy, and it is better not to engage opponents on an equal basis. Two bitanks shooting at a Hercules may have a chance of killing it - splitting their fire makes it much more likely they'll both survive.

Also, bitanks are the only unit that have an Armor-Piercing round, so they have the best opportunity to strike these enemies even from the front.

You need a tank against them. If they rush you small fry, you’re waking up cloned cold. No infantry soaks a hit from jaws that big.

Enemy Phase. The enemy is decimated. See to the two civilians.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INE9M5NYEDI

Orbital: Analyzing contents of the upload. Schematics show tectonic sonars of a structure hundreds of feet below the crust. A class E Colony has been spotted, its architecture and use of old world substances places its date of origin at 2000 bIC. Its scans are considered incomplete. However its size posits that the colony descends into a hollow Biome.

Durandal: No ! Orbital You musn't continue ! If this thing links up with you you'll be in grave danger !

Orbital: As per protocol, PSIComm breach chances exceeding 1% will cause termination. Connection Terminated. Beacon Data Terminated. Beacon Reset and locked with ODF protocols.

Durandal: Dammit now there's nothing stopping that egg from hatching. You didn't happen to stick a few hundred bombs in there did you ?

Diagona: Worry not about that.

Bones: This biodata. Gods it must have accessed the printing directory and it's acclimated to our nonnary script while in the egg. If this hatches-

Diagona: Worry. Not.

Act Phase. If actions reach a high count, Processing windows may activate before 12 or around 6Am Est.
Orbital: Dropship 2 has sustained heavy damage. Please assume an emergency landing position for it.

" Target Egg has gone silent "

" Alert, 17 biosignals approach from the south,"

Durandal: Looks like this is the best we can do. And it looks like your ride is busted. What's the plan.

Knight Command: Make your way to the dropship north its possible that some of ours will have to cover your retreat.

Durandal: Oho ? What's this ? Rolling out the VIP protocols are we ?

Knight Command: .... It seems that Warhead Valeron has deigned to your request. Now shut up and comply.

Bones: Wait , the entrance to the colony is right here ! If we enter it we can get the network up and running before the enemy can recoup. No one would have to die !

Durandal: Pardon my daughter, but she was born without a memory chip so clones are a lost concept to her. Less so dying a warrior's death.

Knight Command: Hmph I'll trust you this far, so long as you bring our Adepts with you.

Trigger , Eclair, Jobber. Ensure that the first thing you accomplish here is uplinking the colony and hooking up its ainsible fabricators.

Durandal: That should be easily done. I'll see you on the other side Diagona

Knight Command: . . . . you WILL answer us on the network.

> New Objectives: Get as many clones on the drop ship north, or the hatch up the mountain. Be careful of treacherous terrain. And note that climbing levels may incur an action.

> You may end the mission, but the fate of your band will be left to the roll of the dice. Either way the mission will end in success.

A classroom, Sterile and white. Everyone seems to be in attendance, that is, every [Errant] who participated in this mission.

" Errants, Welcome " Said a figure on the podium. Command has assigned me the honor of being your Evo Devo technician, that is, I'll be seeing to your day to day developments and fine tuning. Physically I'm on an Orbital cruiser, on the Silver Line, but for now our Armada is tasked with picking and choosing new recruits to groom for the Silver Line. But since this is just a dream, don't sweat the details, here we can configure your genome therapy and even fabricate your armor schematic.

How do we do it ? We extract combat data from your flux's memory, in so doing you end up "expending it" but the plus side is that it is guaranteed data used for externally and internally upgrading your parameters. Think of it as accelerating your evolutionary subconcious. Of course, you can always choose to hold on to that Memory until something better comes along later. After all, with suits, those upgrades are locked on to your individual vessel. So should your clone expire and and the body is unrecovered, say goodbye to those.

The EvoDevo advancements however will apply to everyone where it counts. So you can make the choice, Submit your combat memory for the annals of future generations, or decorate your armor with the pride of your Hyborean people.

I have read muchly of your people's culture, and it's amazingly fascinating how long you have resisted the Xenoforms on their own game. So much so that I have taken to psicomm's Celestial Networks to study your ways for decades and apply it in my field just like the Ganymede scholars there.

Well that's enough about me, sweet dreams !

use XP to convert to Honor. [10 to 1]
CHz maybe used to purchase upgrades from the Colony exchange. There are always those in Hyborean Homespace willing to share information and trade services in their war against the xenoforms. I'll keep you updated on changes !

The Silverline is the overarching space that included Sectors of Hyborean space, where humanity's first expansion was cut off by a systematic cosmic purge by a xenoalliance known as The Concordance, consisting of Xenoforms, Makarians, and other enslaved races that serve under the feet of Astral Giants. Currently, it's around a few Light Decades away from the Iron Line where Humanity has stopped the advance of the Xenoform invasion.

Long ago, the Astral Giants have made contact with our first Forerunners on the Golden Line and has deemed that humanity be assimilated in their evolutionary doctrine, or be annihilated.

As if by mockery, they then create Xenoforms, a twisted biological strain of warlike intelligence, created solely for the purpose of unchecked consumption of carbon based life not unlike locusts.

Since then, war has broken out, over a millennia of space-time and an inestimable amount of Colonies have been lost to the xenoforms while our navies engaged with the Makarians.

As for our current location. That information can't be disclosed but rest assured that YOU are in orbit of Planet Pascal, which has been classified as an infested planet and a Place of Interest by Orbital Command and Warhead Valerian.

During the waking cycles of hearth and home, we find ourselves visiting the quiet halls of the ship's forge. Here nested the forge mother, her tools lined impeccably in our hand we hold honour chips, engraved in monster chitin and marked with memories of our battles to be smelted , molded, and cast onto our suits.

" I heard from the Principal, you have done well , Errants. In the days of eld, our suits would define us on the field for to expose our flesh to the enemy would be tantamount to death. Now it has become culture ne'er to take them off. Especially for outsiders of whom we know nothing of. Before me you all stand naked like the babes you were on the day I molded these for you, should you choose to go into battle with stories befitting your deeds on the field, return here so that I may fashion for you an adornment you can take to the world After. "

=After the Mission=

After scans have determined that a wide stretch of the colony made for a formidable forward base, 3 Knight Orders including our own took control of the Ainsible printers and lodged their presence within. An HQ was made in short order, the gravity beneath our foot felt stable and safe. The whole thing became an expedition in short order.

Diagona: 26th Reserve Regiment because of your efforts , you will partake in helping the expedition breach further below the colony, scans show that there is indeed a ship dock , however the location of our ship is uncertain. We believe it to exist far below the industrial lift and so in order to descend it, we must restore power to the colony.

This will accomplish 3 things,
-the first is to revive the colony's security systems despite its awesome age, it will help aide us in locating the xenoform threats among other presences.
-The second benefit is that it will allow the Ganymede Scholars to access the colony's memory archives which are hidden away in cold sleep.
- The last is that it will allow us to open the lift, allowing for a large punitive force to be transported through. Make no mistake we absolutely believe that there will be a heavy Xeno colony below.

Bones: This colony is big , ancient and for the most part untouched for an extremely long time, something this big can't be desolate without good reason I suspect the reason isn't as simple as Xenoforms despite their most recent presence. So an on-site investigation would be warranted.

Durandal: I will leave Bones in your care 26th, as for me I will be exchanging words with the War Head in the meantime. When I return I expect to see this husk of a colony for myself.

" Matis Mori. "

Diagona: Make your preparations, Bones - map us an optimal Route.

Bones: Y-Yes ma'am !

What you can do during Downtime.
> RP amongst each other freely. You are in the first stratum of the Pascal Colony. A site already littered with canvas tarps , excavation lights and perimeter patrols.

The fabricators are tightly controlled but its been printing ceaselessly through the night. Life as a Hyperian is Spartan, simple, and focused only on the next fight.

>CO. and sub officers may promote , demote or assign leadership positions to optimize responsibilities.
>CO. May suggest upgrade paths for Evo D. or query Colony Exchange for products that may suit an upcoming mission.

> Errants may suggest to the CO.
>Spend XP on upgrades.

> New Players can Enlist as [Adepts]. Being in Battle Once Elevates them to [Errants]. Adepts cannot access the Forge.
>>
The offensive capability of our soldiers is lacklustre in the extreme against the threat we face.
It is possible to acquire better weapons and improve our aim. I suggest we go this route. The Sweeper and Sniper will be useful inside the colony.

Artemis Sequencing will make our ability to bring down xeno easier. I have 2 honour. Who is willing?

>perform post mission paperwork
>submit unit status report

Knight Errant Ranger, I have some post operation paperwork for you. Our unit funding is currently at:

HIGH level.

I have made some assumptions:
That we will replace one bitank
That we will replace one dropship.

If you opt to do neither, we save 24ch. I recomend we do, as deploying with a single dropship will increase our spends on orbital pods to an unsustainable level.

Our mission total was 12ch spent.

With 49 available, I recommend we invest in EITHER the cassian border patrol hulls or the Sweeper Units. Both will supplement our skills while leaving a good reserve for unforeseen costs.

My personal opinion: I recommend the Sweepers for underground, confined work and high impact against armored targets. The heavy units are powerful, yet our own vanguards will be the forefront in an underground fight.

At this juncture I don't recommend that we sell our tech.

A somewhat interesting idea would be to acquire both the cassians and the Sweepers for 35. It would leave us with 14. Our unit deployment costs was 12 this operation.

BUT underground we will not have access to the orbital bombardment nor the dropship nor the orbital pods. This means that for the coming operation, deployment costs will be slim, and the 12 would be a safety reserve for the duration of the mission. It would also enhance our combativeness.

We have 3 for Artemis. Short 1.

We'd need 3 for {Combat Resilience}

>>3953629
Thank you Knight Errant Trigger. Lets clear all of this paperwork ASAP. First things first

>Pay the cost to replace the dropship
>Don't pay for a new BT

For now I think we can do without a 2nd BiTank. We could just get Hetros & whichever Mule Operators we get to gather enough supply for us to print a new one. This might be a gamble depending on the situation we have next operation. Next is...

>Pay the cost of Sweepers, 15 Chz

The particular skillset of this unit should see us through this underground place and in future missions we receive from command. The heavies would be nice to have too but... the expense is a bit too great for our current budget.

>Don't sell the tech
We're not getting in the red right now. We dont have to do this.

>>3953666
Hetros, if you can petition at least 6 other able bodies other then yourself for the pistol. We'll do it.
>>
>>3953710
Interested as I am in side arms, I would prefer we save to afford heavy equipment. The drone operators are universally kitted out to perform adequate murder at present. The bugs are hard to kill, so the side-arms do not offer safety. A automated suppression gun does. Pistols later.

>>3953710
It would be interesting to petition PSIcom for information on the variant drone operator.

>reclass to Ms

Wellllll... going from this I'd say we want to stick at least one more guy who ISN'T a marine with Carbon Dragon... keep fire teams to 4 members.

Then we have the two Bitanks, each bitank should be fielded in support of a single fireteam. Me and Burger King worked pretty well together this time, so we'd have another fire team based around us two?

We want flexibility to a degree Operators especially should be distributed between the teams, at the very least, to the extent that the same type of operator is never in the same team.

I would suggest that we want at least three kinds fire teams. Nobody in our forces are kitted out for rapid scouting duty, so we don't need scout fire teams at least.

Penetrator Fire Teams would act as our front line, the guys who go in hard, fast, and smash the enemy and take the brunt of the action. Eventually it would be nice to have 2 such fire teams, but we would need at least 1 more vanguard.

Next up we have Fixer Kill Teams, so named because their job is to be a flexible solution to many foes. Carbon Dragon has the good core of such a fire team, and if you pulled in a Demo or an Operator it'd be perfect for the role.

Finally we have Panzer-Support Fire Teams, which come down to the escorts for the Bitanks. We'd only have two of those. We don't have enough bitanks to justify a full Panzer Fire Teams, and I would question the utility of a full Panzer Fire Team in any case.
>>
>>3954070
I'd also take up a naming convention that's easy to remember for the different kinds of fire teams.

This variant was assigned the code [OH]-Hightower , created by an independent contractor, the OH utilizes a Positron Array as a main weapon. It's capable of firing from foes afar however like weapons of its kind, it can either fire ruinously in a straight line, or with the help of a drone with a similar emitter, detonate a single area along the array's path by engineering an adjacent ion to ion collision.

This low powered version is fine tuned to evade the detection of xenoforms however this has yet to be proven. Furthermore, this weapon can only be fired while under the least inertial stress. This point doesn't apply to the drone unit.

I have a suggestion for EVDV research.

Quick set concrete or hardened gel foam grenades. Our units are reliant on MULEs to make cover. They should be. An aerosol compound that hardens one area into a barricade like structure would allow us to seal passage ways and mean infantry can establish a hardened position on demand.

I am also interested in any tactical rigging to expand carried supply. Grenades are the pinnacle of utility. More is better.

okay so to be clear.

I can either shoot someone in a straight line from my position. Doing so hits EVERYTHING in that line. So I only got 6 arcs right?

Alternatively, I can use the drone, which is naturally stealthy but we don't know to what degree, so flying it next to a xenoform is probably a losing proposition, but it can be navigated really far away. It's got 6 charges, and can act as a targeting point. As long as the enemy is in a straight line between us and the drone it'll be automatically hit?

Or did I misunderstand that? And the drone only lets us hit anybody who is marked by TWO straight lines? One from us, and one from the drone?
