Well, thinking about what we already know... her maternal grandfather defaulted on heavy debt, which caused everything and everyone in the house being sold off. Lyann's father bought off his childhood sweetheart then, and that lead to the both of them living a pink-colored Master/Slave everyday life, which was only interrupted when her father died, which led to her uncle's family inheriting his house and posessions, ie their house and, of course, Lyann's mom.

Her uncle lusted over her mom, and her aunt eventually couldn't take it, and in a fit of jealousy, sold both of them off while her uncle was away on a long trip. Her mother dissapeared into the slave market, and Lyann was bought by the soldiers of the city guards through a requisition for an official comfort girl.

Well, even if that's how they justified using official army money to rescue her from the slaver's stockade, they weren't going to actually use her as a comfort girl. They were her dad's troops, and they intended to raise her for the length of her slave-by-debt contract before letting her go and helping her start a new life. I mean, they were full of good intentions but, well... they were simple men and their plan was very obviously flawed.

As time passed, the soldiers in that particular barrack were either killed in action, dismissed, or more often than not simply assigned elsewhere, while Lyann had been purchased as that platoon's official comfort girl, and had to stay behind. It was actually less than a year before she was surrounded by, and entirely at the mercy of complete strangers.

Even so, one of them pointed out that she had magical talent, and could be (illegally) sold off as a valuable combat slave, made even more valuable if she also happened to still be a virgin at the time. In fact, that's what we read in her [Biography] tab before. She was destined to be sold off, and eventually die in a southern noble's personal pleasure dungeon. However, that didn't mean they were in any way considerate of her. They hit and abused her regularly, whipping her whenever her grades were not to their satisfaction, or just for the fun of it.

They also resented the fact that despite having an official comfort girl in their barracks, they still had to pay for coin girls, and certainly didn't spare her innocence one bit, using the coin girls they smuggled in openly before her. Honestly, it really is no surprise that her Morals and Ethics were so low as to be underground after growing up in such an environment.

During those years, her being an object to abuse was a self-evident thing. If anything she considers herself as extremely lucky. It is indeed more than a bit regrettably that her Master insists in lowering himself to treat her as an equal, but she is working hard to show him the difference in their status, constantly lowering herself more and more whenever he tries to step down unto her level.

If she does so often enough, he will eventually accept her as his slave, and then she can be as happy as her mother was, as happy as Ellie is, she can finally be happy, as her Master's slave!

Uh, so it was possible for a 15yo to have a migraine.

Well, we realize now, so this is why she is always trying to debase herself, and went from obedient childhood friend to servant to slave to sex toy to just a toy and finally to a 'thing for our convenience' in record time. Its because no matter what she does, we keep trying to pull her up to our level and having a more vanilla relationship with her. And rather than seeing it as being pulled up, she sees it as us stepping down.

What a twisted sense of self-worth... no, such a happiness, can we give it to her?

He does not need to order her, since he knows (not 'trust', but KNOW), she will do as she is expected to. She doesn't has to ask for new safety, warmth, food, clothes, love. She expects those from him without her having to ask for them, and he pays attention.

He gets her new dresses when he notices hers are looking worn out, and he does notice. He pays attention.

She knows he pays attention.

He knows she is a treasure, and takes care of her as such.

Does that help? I mean, we've had Lyann in the same dress for 7 years now, except for the ones our family gives her (and yes, mom, Ellie and dad pay attention, we don't). She still wears the same dress we bought her 7 years ago, though, because:

1 - it has self repair and self clean, plus its a magical dress so it adjusts to the wearer. It fits perfectly

2 - we got it for her. Its the only dress we've ever given her, so she assumes its the dress we like to see her in.

We've given her lots of accessories, though. Its just that we tend to worry more about her gear than her clothes, but I suspect that our mentality of "videogame world" is to blame for it.

Even if she can still choose her words, these are, after all, her unfiltered feelings.

And at that point, we're treating her as an object anyway.
And we already have people as Pets, so it's not like it's much different.

It is currently noble, though, by adoption. Her class doesn't affects how she feels, though.

Our lovely redhead nods, and cleans up the remains of our breakfast, then pushes the food cart out of the room.

We may need to switch Tanis with some of the other Pets we want to get XP, like:

Jam (Metal Swarm)
Banou, Johari, Nalah (Jungle Faeries)
We would need to leave behind some games or something so that they don't get bored too much.

Intelligence/sentience doesn't comes from leveling up, though, it comes from social interaction and mental exercise. That's why we have our cute harpy daughterus working for the civil service after working in customer service for a couple of months, remember?


Besides, they're busy fighting the boss anyway, its not like they actually need distractions or it is a repetitive job. Its just obviously tiring to fight for 24 hours straight.

The reason we left Tanis in charge was so she had a chance to level up, and because she was smart enough to keep the others out of serious problems, so I don't think we can have Crystal, Jam or the others in charge...

Atroma, Miel II, Lyra, Fahima, Kya... they're smart enough to keep the constructs 'safe', and could use the leveling.

She does that anyway, and better than us since she is specced for that. She took all the spelltricks and traits for multiplying drops and improving drop rates, multiple times. IIRC she gets about 97 times as much drops as a normal adventurer by now, and has 110x times a better chance of getting rarer items which... is not as awesome as it sounds since some REALLY rare stuff has a drop rate of 0.001% so hat would be... 0.1% of chances to get truly, truly rare drops off dungeon mobs. Of course, that's still way better than normal people.

We head into the dungeon using the [Keystone]. which means noone actually saw us leave. We have to sneak up to the dungeon boss' room, as not to break the exp chain.

We can't contact them to tell them to kill the boss, though, so all we can do is forcefully unsummon them, then re-summon them by our side.

"Eh?" - Tanis looks confused for a moment - "Oh. Right, you couldn't let us know... I leveled up a lot, but thank you so much for picking me up, I was starting to go crazy." - she sighs, which means she was more bored than anything else.

In total, we went up an average of 128 levels on all 7 of our active classes, which is indeed quite good.

"Alright, you can rest now, and I'll call you out when we're at the island so you can enjoy the beach soon."
"Alright."

We unsummon Tanis again, and check the constructs. As expected, they each went up several hundred levels, but their evolution options are only the power type, and none of them have any [Divine] option available yet.

Once a day has passed, we'll remove both Stella and Lyann from the grinding party.
In their place, we'll put in Fahima, Lyra, Krabby, Miel II, Atruma, Kya, Tanis, and Spelth'Gagaron on a rotation as the party leader.
For just staying around to get XP, we'll do Crema, Aurora, Mocha, Kianna, Tiel, Crystal, Jam, Banou, Johari, Nalah, Gryphons A, B, C, D, White Mantis A and B, and all of the Empusas.

Once they've been taken off of the leveling party, Stella and Lyann can go and do some farming.
In fact, we should see if Lyann's extra bodies count as extra party members for the purposes of a party. We could have her do some farming for us with some extra bodies.
