Previously on 999 Quest:

You and your friends were attacked, dark webs and thin figures of corrupted form stalking into the spiritual grove from which you rescued an elder spirit. The entities lacked in physical force, but they made up for it in unyielding persistence, moving with a mindless resolve as they sought to entrap you within their blackened strands, to sap away you will and soul.

It was only through the timely arrival of an unexpected ally that you managed to drive them off. SCP 2295, the Bear with A Heart Of Patchwork, made its presence known and delivered a devastating counterattack to the spiritually twisted beings, forcing a sudden retreat by the entities. From there, you received information from the elder tree spirit, gaining deeper insight into the nature of the city and its inhabitants. Following this, you went with 2295 to th3 more abandoned portions of the city, receiving more knowledge of the 'Grandmother' and its twisted servitors that attacked you, the warring Courts, and finally of a most explosive doom awaiting this entire city if the war isn't somehow halted.

But for right now, you're more focused on the burning, demonic humanoid wolf trying to turn you and Blue into little jelly chunks.

>Hug it with purifying touch.
>well lets build up our mass and hug all that needs a hug of purity
You decide to build up your own mass, quickly growing to fill up a decent portion of the area.

>Mass Builder (D+)

Your limbs shoot out and you wrap the snarling and blazing werewolf up before pulling it in for a hug, waves of purifying fire shooting out of your body and racking the things body with painful-looking spasms. You'd much prefer not hurting it, but it definitely isn't in its right mind right now.

It bares its fangs at you, before slamming a clawed hand into your flesh and starting to tear. Larger mass or no, it still hurts enough to get you to drop it, the werewolf proceeding to drop onto the ground on all fours, snarling at you in a rage. You note however that where you held it earlier, large burn marks remain, patching themselves over, albeit extremely slowly. It especially seems averse to wanting to get near you again.

>>4013329
>Summon up some rain, turn the ground into a wet muddy sludge and raindrops might react funny with their burning flesh
You raise your limbs in the air for a moment, and down comes a sudden downpour of rain, the ground turning wet and muddy and slick beneath your feet, causing the werewolf to yelp as it starts to lose footing. The burning spirits surrounding it hiss and screech at the touch of cold raindrops, their flames starting to dim and drop, and even the burning wolf-beast seems to wince at the touch of the raindrops, body seeming to freeze up slightly.

>Rain-Call (F++++)

As the rain pours, Blue leaps over your head, and slashes through the air with his Gauntlets, waves of entropic force blasting into the spirits, and dispersing many. They screech their hatred, before forcing themselves forward through the rain, eager to swarm over him.

>Snow storm + Rain call = Blizzard
Energy well up in your form, piling and building up, as you watch the werewolf start to shake itself off before baring its fangs in a roaring charge at you. Blue tries to move to intercept, but is stonewalled by a bunch of hissing spiked spheres.

Guess it's up to you then.

You press an arm against yourself, pulling at your Dream Trinket, which glimmers in he cool night air, sheets of ice spreading out beneath your feet unbeknownst to the snarling and roaring beast approaching. Around your body, spiralling coils of frigid air swirl about you as raw light radiates from the center of your being.

Then it explodes outwards, thick rolls of ice and snow shooting out in all directions, blowing the wolf back and startling it. But it doesn't stop there.

The rainwater mixes in with the snow, your previous working influencing the essence of the Snow Storm, turning the ice and snow into an even more frigid burst that quickly encased the werewolf before sweeping over the insane fire and metal spirits swarming around both you and Blue.

>A new skill has attained realization within you (Frigid Burst) [D]: Through a combination of rain and snow , you can create a form of micro-blizzard on top of your enemies. Functions better in areas already prone to rain and snow. There's an ice pun you could make here, but you're pretty chill, and you doubt it would make anyone crack up. Puns are snow joke, after all.
"Kill! Kill! Kil-"

Thry scream their mantra one last time before they get swept away in the pale storm, essence scattered to the uncaring winds.

The werewolf bursts out from under a pile of freezingly-cold snow-slurry and attempts to claw you, fur coated in painful-looking masses of frost that sizzle against its ever-heated skin. You only barely slide out of the way, and bring your sword up to guard against another swipe that sends you reeling.

It opens its mouth wide, ready to chomp down on your upper half, but is promptly sent flying by a burst of violet energy.

"[I see that you're in a fairly unpleasant situation, Orange.]" the calm voice of Purple sounds out, as he steps out of the portal behind you and starts to assess the situation, another sphere of magic idly floating in an arm. "[Allow me to offer a reprieve.]"

The werewolf shoots to its feet again, glaring in a rage at both you and Purple, body hissing and bubbling as it does.

>Snow-Storm (E++): You can spontaneously generate a freezing effect capable of completely encasing an entire area in a layer of permafrost. Requires the use of a Dream Trinket or another active trinket. Your usage of this skill has grown your ability to manipulate it. The storm has grown into a purifying wave! Things are only going to get better from here!

You're kinda situated in the 'middle' of a zoo enclosure. There's couple metal bars rising up to either side of you, with a sorta 'pit' to help hold in the animals. You don't particularly have to worry about the animals starting up a racket for now, but bleedover from the fight will likely build up the longer it goes on, which could cause issues.

>Pull out our sword and attack it in melee. Try to keep it's attention so that Purple can cast his spells at it.
You rush over to the snapping wolf, striking at it with your sword. Molten flesh almpst seems to part around your blade, spilling sizzling blood up across its length and onto the ground.

The werewolf howls in pain, before slamming a clawed fist into your centre of mass, knocking you back right before it pounces on you. You raise your blade upwards as it does, and drags it down across its chest, leaving a large jagged scar that will take time to heal.

From behind you, Purple blasts it with a bolt of crackling energy, that sends it yelping to the floor, purple-green snakes ripping their way out from its flesh and squirming free or chewing off parts of its body. From the side, you can see Blue coming in, gauntlets crackling.

The werewolf shoots to its feet once more, but it wobbles, unsteady. If it looked pissed before, it's well and truly enraged now. It goes for what you think will be some kind of roar, only for Blue to slam a gauntleted fist into its left eye-socket.

It rockets off to the side, flying/flailing through the air before skidding to a stop some feet away.

"[That should buy us some time.]" Blue huffs out, before turning to Purple. "[Took you a while. Where's the others?]"

"[On their way. The transitionary period was longer than we expected. And they might be going through some...'technical difficulties.']" Purple explains.

"[What do you mean by 'technical difficulti-]"

Blue doesn't get a chance to finish his sentence as the werewolf suddenly shoots back to its feet, snapping its head right towards the three of you. Its body is covered in scars and large scabbed over patches of partially frozen skin. A large scar runs up its stomach, only barely seeming to try and knit itself back together, with it constantly being re-opened by the magic-conjured Serpent's still gnawing through its flesh. But the worst damage is in the left side of its face.

Where once there was a whole muzzle and eye, you can only see what is no doubt the result of Blue's Gauntlets of Decay and their grim work. Dead and dying flesh hangs off in scraps from the wolf's skull, it's entirely eye pretty much gone, muscle and tendons are exposed, looking withered and worn in their brown-gray look, and some almost seeming to be disintegrating against the open air. Dead gray fur flakes off of an exposed lupine skull as purple-green serpents loop and fall out of a cracked and yellowed jaw.

The werewolf snarls and genuinely howls its rage as it charges at you, deadly claws glinting against the moonlight as its grotesque form bears on you.

>Use our ice powers to freeze it in place so that purple can throw more spells at it.
>This, ideally we should aim to incapacitate wether by freezing or shocking him into unconsciousness
You move out of the path of the werewolf's furious charge, dodging to the side as you unleash a burst of energy-charged snow. The wolf howls it's rage and turns to you, before you force more snow and ice to snap around its legs and drag it down, as Purple wails on it from behind with potent spells.

One spell causes the beast to vomit up a cloud of butterflies instead of the weird mixture of saliva and blood it's been drooling so far. Another causes its limbs and joints to affix themselves in really awkward looking positions, bones snapping as it roars in pain. Another turns causes its veins to burst with what you can only call a boiling hot juice mixture, with what may or may not be shards of glass mixed in.

You turn to Purple questioningly. He has the decency to look somewhat sheepish.

"[...I believe my anomalous nature has been warping the spells I cast to be more in line with what our common thaumaturgy is capable of.]" he helpfully explains, seeming just a tad nervous as he does. "[I...don't really have much control over it. Sorry.]"

You give him a happy smile and gurgle. It's all right. He'll get the hang of it eventually!

But for now-WOAH!

You turn just to go back to dodging furious claw swipes. The now even more mutilated werewolf starts lashing out blindly striking out at any and everything around it, white claws flashing madly through the air.

Time to wrap this up, you think.

You twist your body a little, pushing yourself as you build up momentum. Form the side you can see Blue doing ssomething similar. As the werewolf shatters the ice clinging it its feet and snaps to you, single eye hateful and mad, you hold in your position. Even when its jaws fly open and it leaps at you.

You can only watch as flying in from its side, Blue's sword carves through its flesh, parting meat and bone and sending it collapsing to the ground. It cries out in pain, before yanking and pulling the sword out of its flesh, sending it clattering and skidding to the ground. It leaps up to its feet again. And that's when you strike.

You spin out of your position, moving too quickly for the beast to react to. You level your entire body into your strike, energy running up your entire frame, freezing the air around you and pushing out into the space between you and the werewolf. Then, you push both your arms out, just as you come up to the chest of the werewolf.

As soon as blobby flesh connects with blisteringly warm fur, a BURST of raw white light and chilling frost races from you and into the wolf's body. It's body starts to jitter, frost spreading along its limbs as its limbs twitch and shudder. Finally, after a few tense moments, it falls backwards, completely immobilized, though seemingly still awake and aware more or less.

"Blorble." you turn to Purple, only to find several shifting runes scrawled into the air and his body glowing a vibrant hue of blue, with strands of energy radiating out from him.

"[Already on it, Orange. I'm tracing any corruption in the area, trying to link back to the source...]" he trails off, full concentrating on his task. You nod, and turn back to the werewolf.

Looking down though, you don't ee the lupine features any more. Just a shirtless male, glaring up at you from his prone position, the left side of his face still struggling to piece itself back together. He stares at you with a silent scowl etched all over his faced.

>Orange: ''Are you feeling more talkative now?''
>Try to interrogate it.
"Blorble-blorble blorb?" you ask. Maybe it will listen to reason this time?

In response, all you get is a very deep and annoyed growl rising up from its throat. You sigh a bit. Maybe a hug or two will calm him down some?

"If you think to loosen my tongue wretch," the youth suddenly spits, glaring at you with all the hatred he can muster. "then you will be most disappointed. I am a devoted servant to my Lord, and I shall not stray from his word and following. It would be wise if you left whilst you still have the option."

>HUGS & TICKLES
>TICKLE THE INFORMATION OUT OF HIM MUAHAHAHAHA
>YES HUGS AND TICKLES i also want to see if we can make candy
You stare down at the youthful yet hateful face of the man, and come to the only logical solution to this problem.

HUGS AND TICKLES!

You wrap your limbs around the man, pulling him into your mass as you cover him and he let's out startled exclamations. Then, you begin to hold tightly to him, binding his limbs in your vicelike hug as you start the tickle-torture.

To his favor, the man DOES manage to hold out against your tickles for a little while, managing to force back his reactions with some effort. But after a minute or two, he's pretty much roiling around on the ground, almost wailing with childish laughter.

"Heahahaha, stop! Hahahahaha! Stop!~"

His desperate cries for you to stop are heard. And are dismissed.

"No, hahahahaha! Please! Somebody, hel-hahahahaha!~"

Tears are pretty much streaming down his face at this point. Still, you don't let up.

"Ahahahahaha! OKAY! I'll-hehehehe, talk! I'll talk! Just please! Stoooooooooop!~"

At those words, you decide to let up a bit, loosening your grip (but not all the way) and ceasing the TICKLES for the moment.

>A new skill has attained realization within you [Tickle Torture] (F): You can utilize tickles as a last-ditch offensive measure if all else fails. You're preeeeeetty sure it only works on humans or some equivalent, but hey. You can never have enough tickles, right?

The boy breathes out, chest heaving with the effort, and face still racked with mild laughing spasms as he tries and fails to regain control of himself.

"Hehehe...Alright. I'll...talk with you spirit. Ask what you wish."

"The rest of the pack is further in, beyond the sight of the meat." the wolf-man gruffly responds, more or less regaining his previously frigid composure primarily before going all fangs and claws on you.

>Second! Why are you on fire?
"A gift from our Lord, whose power and wisdom are truly supreme. You could not understand his will not the gifts he bestows upon his Claws, wretch." he punctuated that last statement with a very nasty snarl. He should probably have that checked out.

"If that is all, then waste my time no further. Release me so that I may-"

Before he can even finish, you watch as a very large and very fast red blur slams into the side of his head, bouncing off it and knocking the youth into dizzying unconsciousness right then and there, before it bounces off to the floor.

Looking closely, you're fairly certain that it's Red's warhammer. You look back to the portal you came through, which has begun to rapidly pulsars once more.

Red sticks his head out of the gateway, leaning in slightly. "[Umm, oops?]"

He turns back into the gateway and shouts something you don't quite catching, before stepping through in full, followed closely by Blackwood and then Spanko carrying 2295 on his back.

"Why salutations, my lads. It seems that you've gotten yourself into a bit of a rough spot without us, hmm?" Blackwood questions, looking to the scorched and broken area full of mud, rainwater, and debris, and turning to the heavily dazed barely conscious form of the barely adult-looking wolf below you. "Quite some trouble, indeed. Do you mind explaining, 999 my boy? Or shall I make my own guesses?"

"Hmph. Even without any visible signs on the lad, I can tell he's been indulging in something foul." He grunts, pointing with the butt of a rifle at the werewolf. "Judging by the general lay of the area, he didn't wish to make things very peaceful?"

2295 looks over the lycanthrope, an arm running along the chest area.

Pale strands of white energy trail down your limbs, and begin coursing into the unconscious body of the werewolf. Positive power flows into the body at critical points that Purple guides you towards, his head and heart pulsating with the pure light from within you, as the cursed tattoos scarred into his skin collectively scream before dissolving into nonexistence.

2295 presses his arm against his chest, steadying the body of the youth as he shudders at the feeling of the heavily present taint being washed away. The dark aura pulses once against the positive power flowing out of you as if in defiance, before it finally vanishes in its entirety. The young man let's out a harsh gasp, before falling into a blissful state of slumber.

Purple pulls back, body dimming in its glow as you start to retract your limbs.

"[Alright, I believe we purified most of the central corruption.]" Purple says. "[The markings dissolved, but the scars are still there. It would take a more extensive procedure to purge whatever might be lingering there, but he should be fine as it currently stabds.]"

You decide to help Blackwood and Spanko with getting the presently unconscious werewolf out of the midsle of the walkway, bringing him over to the side of one of the linked fences and oropping him up against it. Meanwhile, Blue and Red stand by in case anything else pops up, whilst Purple and 2295 start moving around to try and see if they can trace anything in the area, notably heading in the direction of the thicker wooded area split off from the more cages for he zoo's animals.

Blackwood looks around, obviously expecting anything at this point. You honestly cannot blame him.

It's around ten minutes later that you get a sudden 'jolt' of psychic pressure, before Purple's voice fills your head.

"[Orange...we'd advise you come over here. Quickly.]"

His voice sounds mildly worried. You look to Blackwood, who nods as he relays the info to the others, who follow you as you make your way to the clustered woods that Purple and 2295 headed towards.

When you get there, it takes you more than a few seconds to properly register what you're looking at. You can see Purple and 2295 in front of you, much the same, with the latter even frantically moving his arms about.

Before you sits what looks to be a gaping wound in reality, space breaking apart into unnatural cube shapes that grow more unnatural the closer they are to the center of the breach. The central image depicted before you is a flickering thing, that's almost hard to properly grasp, but you get a distinct impression of fires, metal, blood, fur, pain, and a general of raw unfiltered anger swarming out of the rift. Next to the largest wound in reality, you can see several smaller ones pulling themselves open, gushing with similar scenes of madness.

But its not just the anomalous rift that's got you on edge. It's *everything* around you. The whole area of the woods around you seem to have degenerated, becoming scabbed over, bubbling blisters and the scent of iron and flesh hitting you head on. The air is rancid and sickly, the trees bleeding a thick black substance that smells foul even as thick shelled works with too many teeth tear away at their roots. And above you, further up, you make out weird indistinct shapes, dancing and fusing themselves across the leaves, with only the trailing red-orange flames they leave about giving any indication as to what they might be or their surreal fluid movements.

On a fundamental level, this entire place is just *wrong*.

>Look around further for anything interesting.
Amidst the rippling gaps in reality, and the twisted reflection all around you, you try to search for an anchoring point in the chaos.

It takes you a few minutes to survey the general area before eventually landing your eyes on something a bit deeper into the now-twisted forest. You're not so sure, but it looks like a big fire is off in that direction, crackling brightly along with a number of...voices? Howls? You're not certain.

"[I'd advise we take a look, Orange.]" Purple comes to your side, looking off in that same direction. "[We can come back to deal with THIS, later.]"

You nod a bit. He's right. Finding the wolf pack is the more pressing situation right now.

249. Your approach is swift and somehow doesn't trigger any of the many, many wards. Writing.
