Everwood Civ Thread #22

Welcome to Everwood Civ! In this game you shall take control of a fledgling nation as you attempt to navigate the dangerous world of Everwood! In this world dominated by dark woods filled with wonder and terror will you be able to guide your civilization into prosperity or ruin?

>Discord Link
https://discord.gg/efCCwN
----

The nations of the grand coalition to defeat the Everwood have gathered in Loslina to discuss the dividing of the spoils. There are now thousands of acres of pristine untouched land to be settled upon, this shall be a rebirth of world and the kingdoms in it!

-The Iceborn would like to settle near Dragon's Graveyard and would propose a twenty year peace treaty.
-The Governor would like to see Salvatis brought into the Empire as a Lordship and the ability to claim any new land he wants within the former Everwood.
-The Iron King has already departed leaving only a warning and saying he will take what he wants.
-The Erulians lead by Emperor Gustav and Prince Agaron seek permission to settle the ruins of the old capital as a new nation but under your protection.
-Tarrex proposes a twenty year peace treaty, affirmation of his annexation of Bartia and will restore the land around Belinlos for your use.

The other question on everyone's mind is what to do about the government, so far the main solution put forward by the people is forcing Betzalel to remain Emperor. Any suggestions should be but forward now along with what of this demands you will support, amend or dismiss.

Our grand monarchs should a backseat like that of our great goddess Galoris.

The royal family will be enshrined as a ceremonial body but governance and the will of the nation will rest in our senate of lords and tribunes.

The elected officers will chart our new modern course through history with the utmost efficiency and sound of mind.

We thank those of the black blood for their service in guiding the young days our land. Onward and upward driven by the brightest and best amongst us.
>>
>>4064147
>Iceborne
Tell them to fuck off from our area.
>Salvitas
The governor can remain in control of salvitas but he doesn't deserve all those lands in the once-Everwood
>Erulians
Okay they can be be a protectorate
>Tarrex
Tell Tarrex to fuck off. Belinlos along with Bartia will become our vassals/protectorates or else we'll kill them
>>
>>4064147
-Give Iceborn what they want
-Salvitas can become a Lordship but there will be a limit on what the Governor can claim from the Everwood
-Fuck the Iron King
-The Erulians can have what they want, but we must be permitted to establish an embassy in the Old Capital
-Tarrex will have his demands
-The government will become an Aristocratic Secular Masculine Republic, free and seperate from the Church of Galoris, the Senate of this new Republic will be comprised of an Upper and Lower house, the Upper House comprising the nobles of the land, the Lower house consisting of elected representatives from each major lordship, voted upon by able bodied males.

>>4064147
Iceborne can settle near dragons graveyard

Governor can get fucked. He doesnt care for our people so we couldnt care less about him. Jail him if needs be.

Erulians can settle and be protected

Bartia is not your tarrex, just chill or die.

Governmental System: Emperor is an elected for life position, chosen by the electors, which is a simple, unicameral legislature made up of the lords + elected common folk. Emperor has the power to veto laws, and chooses a council from the electors. Lords potentially can veto laws that don't work in their area, unless overturned by a qualified majority of the legislature.

Economy: High taxes on the rich, low taxes on the poor (20%), lowish taxes on the middle class (30%). Taxes on the rich reduced to middling levels (40-50% as opposed to the current 60%) as we begin to exploit resources on the mainland, which will be a focus of my emperorship. Tariffs will be raised on some of our neighbors as well.

Foreign Policy: Expansionist, aiming to get a foothold on the continent, and annex Bartia. While Salvitas & Belinlos will be negotiated with, hopefully integrating the former while achieving a peaceful deal with the latter, a more hawkish approach will be taken with the Iceborn and the northern kingdoms. We will also intervene in the west if the Moonlord gains too much power. However, Neo-Erulia will be treated respectfully, as will old Erulia, who we hope to integrate or achieve some deal with.

Religion: We will hold a referendum on this, as the people's will is the will of the empire.

The Grand Council of Samir

Weeks before the leaders of various nations that won the Everwar are set to meet, Stormseer Belshazzar calls for a grand council of church officials from all across the Empire to be held in Samir. Innermost and Inner Circle members are obligated to attend, while the members of the Outer Circle are invited to attend if they are able to do so. Priest from every corner of the Empire gather soon thereafter in Samir, from the Pygmy Islands to the northern shores of the Dragon Graveyard. Once all the invited members gather, Stormseer explains the purpose of this council. He has gathered the various church officials to discuss the future of the Priesthood, Empire and the World following the victory in the Everwar. Once this is explained, the Stormseer declares that the Grand Council has officially started and begins addressing the questions that the council must answer. After two weeks of discussions, the Priesthood are able to come to unilateral decisions regarding the various issues that had been discussed. These decisions are then broadcaster to the people of the Empire.

The Organization of the Priesthood

The first rank that one can achieve is the rank of aspirant. These are men who are aspiring priest, their main duties will be in helping and assisting the Priest of the Outer Circle in their many duties. Aspirants will not be able to preach to the people, or perform any rituals and holy obligations under Galoris(such as baptisms, weddings etc.). Depending on if the Aspirants have taken the vows of celibacy and have given themselves to service of Galoris, they will be split in two different hierarchies. Those that have taken their vows are known as the Devout, while those that have not are the Vowless. The hierarchy of the Vowless goes as follows. The lowest rank is that of Aspirant, above them stand the Protoaspirants. Protoaspirants are those who have distinguished themselves in their duties and as such are deemed worthy of the honour of this title. Protoaspirants are considered first among the Aspirants. The hierarchy among the Devout goes as follows: Hieroaspirants is the lowest rank an Aspirant that is a Devout can hold and shares the same duties and honors as an Aspirant. Above the Hieroaspirants is the Archaspirant, who is named by the local Grand Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal, he holds higher honors than a regular Hieroaspirant and holds a more prominent position during sermon, but they hold no authority over them.
>>
>>4064147
Iceborn can settle near and have their peace treaty, the Governor would need to negotiate on lands. The Iron King can get fucked, the Erulians are fine with me as a Protectorate. Tarrex we can deal with later, for now agree.
>>
>>4064166
Aspirants of both hierarchies that have proven their dedication to Galoris and have served for at least 5 years are eligible to be named priest of the Outer Circle by a member of the Inner Circle. Priests of the Outer Circle have the right to hold sermon and the various other church ceremonies, but they have no right to appoint members that are their equal. Much like the Aspirants before them, the Priests of the Outer Circle are split into two hierarchies depending if they have taken their vows. The hierarchy of the Vowless goes as follows: The lowest rank for such a member is Priest, they have the ability to hold sermons and various other church functions. Above the Hiero is the Storm Priest, this title can be bestowed upon a Priest by a member of the Innermost Circle or a member of the Inner Circle of high enough rank. This title is bestowed to a Priest that has at least 15 years of service as a Priest and who have stood out in their service and whose work has shown clear results. Alongside the Storm Priest another prestigious Priest can be named as the Storm Priest’s adjutant. The highest rank a Priest of the Outer Circle that is a Vowless can hold is Luciphant, this title is awarded to Storm Priests that are near the end of their career and have shown their devotion to Galoris through many years of faithful and diligent work. This is the highest title a Vowless member of the Priesthood can hold. The hierarchy among the Devout goes as follows: The lowest rank is Hieromonk, and their duties are similar to those of the Priests. Within a single temple the highest rank that a member of the Outer Circle that is Devout can hold is the Keeper of the Holy Light. The Keeper of the Holy Light is the single priest who keeps to the daily duties of the temple, be they of the spiritual or mundane nature. He gives daily tasks to all under church members that are under him. The Keeper of the Holy Light has a lot of power within their temple but must prove their responsibility and devotion even before being elevated to their position. The Keeper of the Holy Light is appointed to their temple by the Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal under whose territory the temple is a part of. Outside of a temple, one can achieve the position of Hierophant, who work as assistants to the members of the Inner Circle, and the senior position of Protohierophant, who is considered the first among the Hierophant.
>>
>>4064169
Hieromonks who have distinguished themselves in their service and have proved their devotion to Galoris without doubt and have served as a Hieromonk for at least 10 can be named members of the Inner Circle by their local Grand Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal or by the Stormseer himself. The title of Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal is granted to the Hiermonk who will watch over a territory consisting of multiple temples and they will have full jurisdiction within their Shoal. They will have the duty of appoint the Keepers of the Holy Light to their prospective temples. Besides the Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal, members of the Inner Circle can hold many titles depending on their duties. Many will work as adjutors to the Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal and the Grand Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal, some like the Tidewatcher, will have a duty on organizing and ensuring the safety of the faithful traveling down the Currents of Galoris on their visit to Loslina.

Members of the Inner Circle that have without a shred of doubt have proved their loyalty and devotion to Galoris and have served dutifully for at least 15 year can rise into the ranks of the Innermost Circle. All members of the Innermost Circle are appointed as such by the Stormseer himself. The Stormseer appoints the title of Grand Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal to a member of the Inner Circle, thus elevating him to the position where he will be the first among the Watcher’s of the Maiden’s Shoal within his territory. All members of the Innermost Circle hold the title of Grand Watcher of the Maiden’s Shoal, though most of them carry the title honorary as they will not have a territory to be put over. The most sacred duties are held for the members of the Innermost Circle. They have the task of guarding the Tablet of Sin and Tablet of Translation. They have a wide range of responsibilities and jurisdiction over those under them. It is from the numbers of the Innermost Circle that the Stormseer appoint his heir and successor, the next Stormseer.

The Stormseer is the highest title a member of the Priesthood can achieve. The Stormseer is the First Servant of Galoris and his right to rule and lead the faithful Lightwatcher comes directly from Galoris, Goddess of Wind and Water, Lady of Lights and Maiden of Storms. The Stormseer rules for life and his appointed successor is the one that inherits the title.

Victory in the Everwar and The Purge of Chernoboros

With the victory in the Everwar, Galoris has rid the world of the great evil that has been plaguing the world for centuries. She has delivered on her promise and fulfilled the Pact that she made with the First King of the Lightwatchers. This is the very moment where Galoris has proven her divinity and merciful to the world at large. She held unlimited power at her hands and instead of using it to prop herself up or using it in any kind of nefarious means, she used all that power to rid the world of the greatest evil that has plagued it. Galoris, the Light of The World, has claimed a great victory, not only for herself but for all Lightwatcher that have ever will. For it is the Will of Galoris, that has given birth to the Ethos and spirit of our people. Her struggle to cleanse this world of its darkness mirrors that of the struggles our people went through. Think of every man that his died, every single tear tear fallen from a mother’s eye, every single cry of an orphan left on the streets, think of the stench of spilled blood, of sickening smell of a razed village, the sorrowful sight of walls that have crumbled, we have endured tragedy after tragedy under the protection of Galoris. We have not only endured, but with unimaginable sacrifice we have been able to return light into this world. Take pride people of Galoris, every single one of you, from the lowliest sheppard to the highest of lords, following the will of Galoris you have truly made this bleak world into a truly bright one. We are Lightwatchers, we have stood over and watched the light as much as the light has stood and watched over us. We watched the light as it came from the smallest ray standing defiantly against the darkness into the glorious light that purged the darkness and now shines upon this world. As we grew so did the Light and as the Light grew so did we. The very soul of being a Lightwatcher is a soul found under the light of Galoris. To be a Lightwatcher is to praise Galoris. With this great victory Galoris has ensured to all men of this world, not only a blessed life on the earth, but a blessed life in the afterlife. With the resurrection of those that have fallen in the Everwar, Galoris once again shines her mercy upon us. There exists no doubt, with the passing of Chernoboros, there exist no true god but Galoris. Galoris is the Light of the World, all others are merely pretenders and false idols that try and deceive the faithful from straying from the true path
>>
>>4064173
While the greatest darkness that has clung onto this world is now gone, not all darkness has been removed from the world. While the Light of Galoris shines upon the world, in the deepest shadows the forces of darkness and evil still foster. We must remain vigilant! Out watch has not yet ended! The threats that the Eldritch realm, the MoonLord and various nefarious spirits present to us must not be underestimated. The fight to truly purge this world of all its darkness is a long one, but like time and time again as long as we stay true to our Ethos and Galoris we shall overcome even that fight!

Rebuilding of the temples

After the necessary and more urgent needs of the people are addressed and the economy of the Empire recovers a massive rebuilding effort will be launched. All the temples damaged during the Everwar will be rebuilt and remade even greater than before. A temple will be built upon the place where the Heart of Chernoboros finally fell in battle. A grand fortress monastery will be built around the Spire in Loslina to host the first Holy Order of Galoris.

It seems support has of the people and many influential lords has been set behind an Elected Monarchy! In general the demands of other nations have been accepted except for Tarrex. As such we shall hold our first every election to crown an Emperor! The voting shall be held by the Lords and the elected members of the Senate!

Put forth your claim, policies and plans for the Wine-Dark Empire!

Honorius Isaacs
The grand war hero and slayer of evil. I stand here today, saddened that the power of the people doesnt rest with the people but I wi stand for office in a time which needs perseverance.

My policies will be that of tax reformation, Colonization effects on the mainland. Resources of the everwood must be used by our people for the goal of our continued success and growth.

Our enemies will want to lick their wounds as we do, but we must remain vigilant even now after the grand victory against evil.

For the empire. For our future

“Thank you, Honorius Maximus, very cool.

First, I would like to congratulate my cousin Esau on his great victory. A man of great morals and ethic, I am sure his vision for this country is one of noble ways.

His morals and ethics, are so great, that he is even above the politicking and thieving ways of some of the lords that share this very room.”

Koriander withdraws a pile of letters and tosses them onto the table
“These are letters exchanged between Lord Yoresh, Overlord of the Imperial Military, and Esau Shinebringer. Yoresh was planning to prop up Esau, regardless of whether or not the people wanted it, and assume direct control with the military to form a sort of duo of power between the two. Esau was above this however. I would like to request he is summarily removed from his position for planned abuse of power. That is all. Long Live the New Monarchy.”
>>
>>4064244
"I can confirm these allegations are true, but I do think my poor vassal was corrupted by the allure of power. If I am elected, he will be removed from the position of Overlord, which will be granted to someone more suitable. However, in recognition of the efforts he has put in over this long war, he will be granted a suitable role, and allowed to retire from the Overlordship with prestige."

Neatar Neas, great war hero of the everwood war and slayer of Hrothlogar candidates for the position of Emperor.

After returning from is death, he has several ideas :

-For the moment the taxes will be lower for give a breath to our people, after this war. Then taxes will be at 70% for the high class, 40% for the middle and 20% for the lower. Priesthood will receive taxation as well.

-After the works of reconstruction, we will begin a colonization campaign for settle the lands claim by us.

-The empire will do investments in culture and innovation. The school system will be improved.

-The empire will become far more meritocratic, the best of our nation will be put in proper positions

- Erulia and Neo erulia will receive our positive diplomacy. While we will remain wary of others albeit trade is prefer.

-Disasters or dangers against the world it self will be destroyed and not leave alive

What an eventful race this has been, in the end only two candidates stand for the position of Emperor! While Esau Shinebringer was at first in the lead the sheer amount of politics involved in his run has soured many! Ibraham Yoresh who was recently forced down from his post as Overlord has come out against Esau and Korainder claiming that all of the letters were fabrications! He also accuses Koriander working for Tarrex, citing the numerous times they fought beside each other in the war! He claims that both Esau and Korainder have mislead the people and the Stormseer! He also professes his support Tesaon Neas, a true war hero and a man of uncorruptible nature!

It has also been released to the public that Esau has been sleeping with Tali Neorah, a life attuned with horns! Horns are the sign of Chernoboros, clearly he must be corrupted in some way!

The race is now to close to count, this is your last chance to change support or release new dirt!

“Let the Stormseer whether he was tricked by me. As for my vassal, I have given him nothing but support. However, he wished to take Slug Island by force, willing to throw millions of lives away purely to craft with the great forge of that place. I would not be removing him from that position unless the lives of a great many were at stake, and they are. I am Galoris’s tool, and a friend of the Stormseer. They gave me and many others the chance at resurrection, at seeing our families and friends once again. I offer that to the people, while the former Overlord would offer your lives to the chance of enriching himself. Do you side with our Mother, or with that who would take away the chance she has granted you?”

I shall declare a public statement, being a War-Hero and Champion of the Middle Class:

"Esau is an upright and faithful man who has served the Empire well. These revelations are merely the work of a disgruntled Ex-Overseer, who, during the war, left all the major work to his underlings and hid behind the frontlines while the rest of us were sent to die in droves. People from all over the Empire, just like you, were sent to their deaths at the behest of an inexperienced and foolish Overlord who had to be kept from disaster at every turn by the more even-tempered lords of the realm. I beseech you, do not listen to these slanderous allegations against the Shrinebringers and Thleeches, allegations that are being leveled by an unhinged, and deranged Ex-Overlord seeking to cover up his own war-time transgressions. There are even rumors, though I know not of their veracity, that the Yoreshes participate in a great number of deviant and degenerate acts. Though I cannot say for certain if they are true, I beseech you, the people, to demand answers and actual proof from them before you heed their words."
>>
>>4064308
"For truth and reason then, did you not resurrect the hunter which led to the dragons coming and even more countless deaths for no good reason? All under the watch of the wardens of said isle.."
>>
>>4064324
"...I think you have the wrong Argos"
>>
>>4064289
“What I’ve been accused holds no truth. I fought alongside of Galoris herself and helped destroy the corpse of Chernoboros with her. Questioning my faith or devotion is questioning Galoris herself.”
>>
"My last statement on this matter is this. I have not slept with Tali Neorah, and slander against her is equally slander against the Mother. During the final war against that wretched forest, Mother saved her life personally, and did not strike her down as she Attuned. Tell me, people of the empire, is Yoresh somehow smarter than mother? Can he see more than she can? If you, like me, are faithful, you will know that the answer is no. Tali is no more corrupted than the deer which you hunt is. Unless Yoresh would also like you to stop eating, because deers having antlers is a sign of corruption.

I am loyal to that woman for the sake of the fact that I have seen her forefathers perish, despite the good they have tried to do for the empire. I was also loyal to my vassal, but he has broken that sacred bond of trust by lying about me. Tell me, people of the empire, who was it who granted him the land that let him rise to his position? Who was it who has funded him, and supported him all this time? It was my family. It was mine.

Lastly, it is possible I have misled the people, that is true. I do not think I have, and I doubt many of you think that either. But to claim I have misled the Stormseer, is to claim I am capable of lying to a man who knows the truth of all things, and is the arm through which Mother moves. That is what I ultimately cannot do; I can never betray the one who has given me my life again. May Yoresh, in his seeming infinite wisdom, realize the truth of that, and take back his slander."
>>
People of Galoris! Heed my words!!! Where has our unity gone? We have foight this war united for 10 years! Now we bicker??? I refuse that faithfull servants of Galoris could fall to such a level! No, my children! This is the work of an enemy! They try to sow discontent and muddle up this election! I point my fingee at Koriander Thleech and Overlord Yoresh! These two man have woven a thread of lies that has ensared us! I will now clear up any misgivings! Koriander Thleech is without a doubt a servant of Tarrex!!!! AND AS SUCH SHOULD NOT BE ELIGABLE TO LEAD A HERD OF SHEEPS LET ALONE ANYHTING OF VALUE IN THIS NATION!! Overlord Yoresh has proven greedy and overly ambitious, ready to serve the chaos that Koriander and Thleech have cookes for us!!!

My support remains behind Esau, i know him very well, well enough to tell lies from the truth. He is a faithfull man of Galoris and the only true next Emperor of our nation!
>>
>>4064299
That could not be further from the truth.

I would have led that campaign to ensure minimal if zero loss of life. I would have made sure that the Titan Triton would have charged in first, breaking the Slugs and focusing on defeating Elisha and extracting the Flame of Worldbreaker. Should it come to standard battle, I would have deployed pygmies backed by heavy artillery to ensure absolute minimal loss of life. The Flame of Worldbreaker would have unlocked many new possibilities for our empire to grow and become more powerful, because it doesn't just forge legendary weapons, but it could forge much more.

>>4064318
First and foremost, I was not an overseer but an Overlord. This is nothing but lies and slander against an overlord that delivered this Empire victory. I fought against the Heart of Chernoboros, I EVEN RISKED MY ETERNAL SOUL AGAINST TARREX HIMSELF! As for the degenerate and deviant acts that you accuse me of, they are nothing but rumors, lies, and slander. I have been a good man to my wife, and my family has had a clean record.

There are people in this empire who cannot say the same.

Ibraham II comes before the crowds and speaks passionatly:
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR! THERE IS NOT A SINGLE MAN HERE WHO CAN SAY THAT THE NEAS HAD DONE WRONG! THE CIBUS FAMILY, THE SHRINEBRINGERS AND THE THLEECHES COME AFTER MY REPUTATION, BUT NEVER NEAS'S!

THEY DO NOT DARE TO ADDRESS THE TRUE CONCERNS I BRING UP, THE MEDDLING OF TARREX WITH KORIANDER AND ESAU! THEY PROVIDE BASELESS ACCUSATIONS AGAINST ME.

VOTE FOR NEAS BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG THEY CAN SAY ABOUT HIM! HE HAS BEEN A CHAMPION OF THE PEOPLE FOR AS LONG AS OUR HISTORY CAN REMEMBER! HE HAS SERVED GALORIS FAITHFULLY, AND THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN INSTANCE A NEAS HAD QUESTIONED HIS FAITH TO GALORIS!

A VOTE FOR NEAS IS A VOTE FOR OUR FUTURE!
>>
>>4064289
Let it also be known that the Stormseer, Esau, and the Thleeches work in a Triumvirate.

Even if the Thleech steps down, he will pull strings in the shadows, if Esau wins, Tarrex will forever have sway within our lands.

However the majority of the Lords vote for Esau and Anthony Cibus, hero of the lower class rallies several of the Senators to vote from him too. It was a close race but you officially have a new Emperor! Galoris save Esau Shinebringer, Emperor of the Wine-Dark Sea and King of the Seastone Throne!

G. Begin claiming and prospecting has large amounts of the newly freed Everwood land.

As for religion, Galoris has seen fit to release us from our duties to her. Those who wish to keep the old faith can continue to do so, but worship of other spirits and gods should also be allowed, as long as they don’t purposely harm the Lightwatchers.

G send expeditions into the cleansed everwood, including Dragons Graveyard, to get a lay out of it's terrain and environments.

For religion I say that freedom of worship should be practiced and those who worship other deities, as long as they are benevolent, should not be persecuted against. Galoris is of course the most powerful and undeniably deserving of worship however there are other deities who people would benefit from such as Dissus, whom Galoris approved of, Yeshu who aids the sailors of our kingdom and more. Fuck dickhead deities like the 3 brothers or Dago tho.

As the referendum goes, I believe Galrois has more than earned our faith, respect and more. The faith of others shall be allowed but let it be taught in schools and such whom saw us through our troubled times, whom united us. It is a year of massive reconstruction across the Empire, thousands of reborn workers getting back to the fields! With the destruction of the Everwood it seems like new life has been breathed into the land. There is some awkwardness when many people find their own corpses where they died but it’s not everyday you come back to life.

The Text of Galoris is also finally delivered to the Academy in a book bound with the hide of an Angelshark. Inside it explores the nature of the soul and how a strong enough mage can use their own soul to manipulate and reorganize their soul and those of others. She explains that the Angelsharks are such a creation with a human soul and a shark soul being combined to form this creature. Mages with access to Points of Power can also rewire their souls to allow them use of all types of magic.

As for the referendum a majority votes to keep the worship of Galoris enshrined as the state religion and it’s laws valid overall.

Expansion into the Everwood is easy now, it is a truly fertile land full of lush trees and bountiful game. The first place to undergo a surge of colonization is the former Profane Fortress proving a natural protective area and a symbolic place of victory over the Beastmen. In the north by the edge of a great swamp several hundred settlers find an intact Arcane Foundry! At it's core stands a Progenitor heartstone which is used to power the various tools and constructs within it's walls! This foundry seems to have been designed to produce farming equipment with minor enchantments at a break neck pace! Crel's Wall has also proven to be a popular area to settle and sees a rush of colonization! Further past the Arcane Foundry explorers report the ruin of a massive city, when contacted the Emperor says it is likely the former port city of Horalen.

We need to check on Yazadan and the situation there. Since Agaron left the continent along with most of his elite troops, it's probable that the Moonlord has been more active and expanding there. We can not allow an eldritch creature sch as that to grow in power and we need to at least confirm the situation there.

It also seems the Eagle Princedom has reformed under a charismatic warlord by the name of Slim Bandii.

With proper titan and mage support the isle is easy enough to cleanse. The slugs are no match for your magical might and the massive Elisha puppet monster is brought down from a single of Triton's fire beams. Besides the Astral Observatory discovered on a previous expedition you find a forge-works in the center of the island. It descends deep into the ground and is full of the most complex enchanting equipment you have ever seen. You see vast arrays with thousands of tiny needle arms that could carve thousands of runes onto the tiniest section of metal and at the very heart of this complex is a burning blue flame. It is free floating seeming to need no fuel and is surrounded by a complex runic array with stops the heat from melting the entire island! You have found one of Worldbreaker's Flames!

All across the world it seems like trade is the name of the game with ships following through your Empire from the Iron Kingdom, the United Heavenly Kingdoms and Guillen. A free flow of ideas move through the world and you find many immigrants seeking to settle in your lands, at the moment you don’t really have any laws set up to deal with that.

In the Starless Sea the Emperor has accepted the vassalage of the Eagle Princedom who fear the ever expanding Serene Republic. This insidious eldritch threat seems to grow like cancer every single day.

Gaeda Argos has come up with the design for a laser rotation drill, this device will revolutionise mining operations by carving cylinder tunnels and breaking the rock and ore into manageable pieces. Powered by either manite, heartstones or magi themselves these devices will carve vast tunnels seemlessly

Immigration is a question for another time. For now, we should focus on the drill proposed by Gaeda Argos. This drill cuts in a very narrow channel, pulling itself further in with a corkscrew shell as it goes. The second section as well as the head channels lasers to slice in a corkscrew motion. When paired with the first, this causes the channel beyond it to grow from the laser, collapsing it into a heating circle. As such it is self sustaining and will carve out large channels in the rock for us to prospect and mine.

The Gaeda Drill proves a powerful piece of equipment that manages to dig tunnels faster than all but the most powerful earth mages. With it’s first exhibition it enthralls the entire Empire and orders flow in! However the first couple buyers quickly find the machine completely unsustainable to run! It simply requires way too much mana for the cost of the labour it replaces, this has led to several wealthy mine owners demanding their money back and a generally disgruntled public.
>>
Merchants have also begun to lobby the Senate and Emperor to lower taxes all around. They also wish to see the power of lords brought down and their monopoly on ownership on the land in the Empire broken up.

E. Education reform

In order to boost literacy rates and general intelligence amongst future generations, education should be secularized and focused upon teaching students general education curriculum including sums and reading, not church verses. General costs of this education shall be covered by the state up to a certain level. To further facilitate this, the ban on book censorship shall be repealed to allow for the upmost accurate curricula.

Lower the tariffs on trade immensely, and institute laws that only immigrants who convert can come to the Empire. Furthermore, allow merchants and small people's assemblies to own their land as long as they are faithful and willing to pay the extra taxes that the lords have to pay. Lower taxes we will hold off on for now.

E. Immigration Laws

Immigration can be a vital source of labor, and through labor, wealth. Though this drilling boondoggle may be a failure, by increasing the amount of available labor within the empire, we can see increased productivity without these drills. To this end, two simple guidelines will be issued for new immigrants:
-New immigrants must accept Galoris and worship her. Foreign faiths are to be denounced in favor of our own
-New immigrants must be capable of working in some capacity, or be the family of immigrants capable of doing so.

The new immigration policies are well received and enforced with relative ease with both Ironbreaker Islands and Dosmir being the designated points of entry for immigrants. While the Emperor has decided to lower tariffs the decision to allow the common people to own land in the former Everwood has sparked extreme anger from those who have settled at the Mana Foundry! They feel they have been robbed of what they discovered, they have received support from many other frontier settlements with the exception of those under the rule of the Everwood family. The Merchants are even more enraged that to own land that they must submit themselves to a massive increase in taxes!

While the Senate and Lords argue over education reform Lord Attenius manages to get a law passed based on old Aline tradition. This law bans sodomy which is the act of having sex with the anus. This had led to mass protests in the Empire of this gross overstep of government authority! Sodomy afer all is the preferred method of birth control and if a man wants to fuck another mans ass who is the Emperor to say he can’t! People are blaming the Emperor, the Senate and Lord Attenius!

The Imperial School Act however is passed giving funding to form government run schools across the Empire. These schools however are not mandatory and see very low turnouts as the Priests rail against them. Afterall who is better to teach the masses then the Priesthood!

The Royal Academy spends time delving into the research of the soul. It takes many hours of research but they finally discover the mechanism of which the soul connects to the body. This one tiny near impossible to detect strand connects the soul to the body and can be carefully manipulated by a powerful mage. This strand is still present in the Attuned but solely fades after around 200 years which causes the “death” of the Attuned.

Headmaster Tali Neorah spends time traveling to Guillen to study the race of Griffins and the strange souls of the people living there. It takes some time but she is able to ascertain that their souls are actually made from eldritch “mana” not from the normal mana of your world. The Griffins also have partially eldritch souls that can interface with the world and “trick” it in allowing them to “pretend” to have human souls.

Funds are diverted to the Yazadan Lordship to increase defenses with several legions being dispatched along with the best engineers available. A report is quickly sent back by Brightlord Therin Rayan of the 5th Legion of what has been happening over there. It seems that Lord Balat Firestorm has been waging a personal war against the Moonlord and the Beastmen. He has pushed them back in several areas and has styled himself the Sunset Emperor. He has reached out to the Emperor to find the solution.

Work on the ritual for deattunement. Specifically, what I am trying to do is soften the soul without the eldritch element that was needed to deattune Koriander. Using my existing knowledge and what I can glean from my association with Gaeda, I will try to figure out a method.

Faction Name: The Yoresh Family

Basically what we're going to do is organize in large groups that will go into the everwood, declaring themselves to be trailblazers and entering the everwood. We'll use the mana sensor to guide our way into the everwood towards the major areas where there's a lot of magical presence, as well as just areas with points of power. We'll try to evade other people within the Everwood such as the Iron Kingdom and such. This is mostly because I might get cucked by other people just physically removing me from their lands. We're going to go DEEP INTO THE EVERWOOD.

When we enter the everwood we'll use the mana sensor to guide us towards the areas of strong magical presence. When we get there we'll search the area for magical artifacts, scrolls of magical knowledge, and other magical facilities. When we find artifacts, we'll catalog them, find out what they do, and take them. When we find magical facilities we'll basically try to figure out how they work, maybe get a basic blueprint running and dismantle them. Magical knowledge we can just throw it into a cart to read it later, maybe send it to the Argos fellows to research it because they're clearly much more competent than the Headmaster.

Basically, after that we'll just leave the everwood working to evade foreign empires. However, the route we'll take is probably through the Everwood Family's lands since I'm friends with him. We'll try to do this quietly and get to Olamir. Essentially, we're going to take artifacts, Magical facilities, and scrolls of magical knowledge so we can successfully SURGE.

Another wave of colonization is pushed into the Everwood with everyday expanding your borders. A treasure trove of magical artifacts and locations are discovered along with thousands of acres of fresh land. A large swamp blocks your expansion to the East so most of your efforts are focused north. In this virgin land you discover a massive barrow complex unlike anything you have ever seen. It has been thrust up from the ground during the cleansing of the Everwood and now looms over the trees in the area.

In the north you discover a large placid lake teeming with life. In the middle of it stands a large temple and statue to Chernoboros. All who enter the area feel calm take over them and feel refreshed. On the entrance to this place a large Obelisk stands with a few words in Erulia,

"Do not repeat the mistakes of the past."

The last place of importance you find is a massive mountain standing alone among the trees. On closer inspection you can see a series of mining tunnels pockmarking it's surface. Men retrieve a sample of the rocks found there, they seem to be a dark grey metal that tingles when you touch it.

The Emperor commissions a fleet to explore the distant coasts of Neo-Erulia. They follow the trade ships visiting Kalrina before taking the long journey down. It is a truly massive land and they visit many fantastic cities and find that if they go around enough they simply reach the other side of the kingdom. It’s as if the coast is linked together?

The Stormseer has also passed away and a new one elected by the Inner Circle.

Anyway, Balat is barred from using the title emperor, and is ordered to come before the Senate once the war with the Moon Lord is done. After a talk with the Stormseer, Esau swallows his pride - just barely - and realizes that he is more useful as a weapon of the Empire than lying shattered before the threat that the eldritch represents.

Building upon the foundation set by the War Priest, the Stormseer, The Warseer and The Champions of Galoris have worked on forming the Holy Orders of Galoris who will defend the faithfull and purge heretics and hetheans.

Two different Orders will be formed that will serve different purposes to Galoris and the Empire. The Order of The Raging Storm, will fight in the offensive wars of the Empire and be at the front of any attack the Empire leads against the unfaithfull. The Leader of this Holy Order will be the Warseer himself, who will choice an heir for himself. The other Order will be Holy Shell, they will work on protecting the holy sites and temples of the Empire and protect pilgrims as they travel across the Empire and the world, and fight in defensive wars. This order will be lead by the two Champions of Galoris.

Announcements are made to the public, and the positions are open to those who are truly at the peak of their skill and who have shown them to be extremely faithfull. Membership in an order is for life, however members of the Order are allowed to marry and have children.

With the lowering of taxes all business booms. The raw materials from the Everwood and the demand for your goods by foreign nations fuel massive profits for all! The merchants delight and your middle class greatly expands, this has also caused an increase in attendance at the schools as the lower class are beginning to see the benefits of gaining an education.

Lord Balat Firestorm sends a letter back apologizing explaining that the forces of the Moonlord attacked first and he was simply assuming the attack to gain a buffer zone. As for the title Emperor he states that the Golden Empire was once a vassal of the Erulian Empire and it was not much different from this, he does offer to take another title if the Emperor wishes so.

The Neas will prepare this mission wanting to involve even the citizenry of their city, giving them help in establishing themself there.

A team of prospectors would have also come for aid the colony. Relativly nearby magical points reveal by the Mana sensor would have been at the very least mark if not secured, for future imperial need as the empire would have request without doubts their use.

It would have been lead and help none other than by Neatar Neas the slayer of Hrothgarl, and is uncle Neitan Neas the once Lord regent of the city and often call Silver Knight by the folk.

At the bottom of Lake Horte, besides the town of Wardenvale, there lies the sunken city of Avalynn which was once the capital of the ancient kingdom Aline. Deeper still, in the heart of the drowned city, there lies the Vault of Kings which is a structure built by ancient lords to house some of their treasures within. For millennia the Vault remained untouched at the bottom of the lake with the rest of the city.

During the Everwar the Attenius family unlocked the vault in hopes of retrieving arcane weapons to use against the Beastmen. When they opened the vault all thay was discovered were oldbooks, droves of pointless novelties and only a handful of meaningful instruments of war in the shape of the slumbering Knights of Eternal Frost, unnatural and dreaded warriors from ancient times. The Frost Knights were stirred awake and did battle with the beastmen, each one halting tens of thousands of the twisted creatures, before returning to slumber as they had prior.

Now that the war is resolved and peace has returned to our lands, Lord Oscar Attenius seeks to extract and make use of some other contents of the vault. While most of the items are of little actual value, there are countless books in the vault which hold an entire kingdom worth of lore from over a thousand years. Many of the books are in dreadful states but if handled with proper care, they may be safely handled without damage being inflicted. The Lord orders that all these books be thoroughly examined and copied down into new ones.

All this lore however will require a new home to rest however for Avalynn is a less than ideal place to read and study. Certain structures dedicated to knowledge do exist such as the Library of Neas Hope but Oscar feels that a place like Neas Hope or Loslina, given their social climates would not be the best places for this project. Instead Lord Attenius will begin construction on a new archive in Wardenvale for it is right next to Avalynn and is home to the Valitina family are his allies and kinsmen who also share ties to ancient Aline.

Lastly, a section of the archives will be dedicated for the Order of the Harvesting Blades. The noble order will be entrusted with safeguarding the site. The Harvesting Blades were founded to defend the people from dangers so it feels only natural that along with the innocent, that they also guard the knowledge and history of the people.
