It has now been a week since the slaughter.
The ancient fortifiation is bladly damaged, but your men are working around the clock digging trenches and rebuilding what they can.

What remains of the the hostile army is a 100 or so prisoners. They are all mutes, having had their tounges removed. Who ever they served has an interest in keeping their mission a secret.

Your only prisoner who talks was found in the hosts stockade. A young man, he claims to be the son and heir of some island king.

The former Lord, a young boy by the sound of it, is missing. The few surviving locals claim he was killed and burnt by the Ironborn when they took the castle.
Jon is furius at this, demanding theblood of those who killed his brothers.

Rumors have also begun circulating amongst the populus. That King Robb and his army have been destroyed in the south.

Communication a d unity has broken down in the north. With every Lord seemingly looking out for himself.
You stand now at a crossroads. What will your next descision be?

You send word to your Magos at the wall, that his services are needed down south at winterfell.

You put sister Conchitia to work immediatly prostelitising to the peasants. She and the wildling spearwives that follow her are brutal in their zealotry, angering many peasants and minor lords alike.
The biggest controversy being her request to burn and rip out the ancient weirwood tree in winterfell. Even Jon protests this, cæaiming that the tree has stood there since the castle was built millenia ago, and that its a symbol the northerners rally around.

Upon your Magos' arival in one of the Tauroxes, he immediatly goes to work constructing workshops and small foundries around the castle. He awaits your orders on what to focus on.

Further argument arises when sister Conchitia demands that the prisoners be burnt at the stake in a ritual to the emperor. Your Magos protests this, claiming they would make excelent slave workers, and pottential servitors when the material conditions are met.
>>
>>4073108
-the tree remains for now, we can't piss of all the primitives. She will get more then enough heretics to burn for his Glory in the future

-what can the magos produce in his little workshops?

-they will work for the Emperors glory until the end of days
>>
>>4073086

the magus name was Palidorius
>>4073108

Divide the production in two :
- Produce autoguns, grenades, armor and chainswords.
-Produce civilian tools for construction, building and other useful needs.

- ask our Magos, what and where we could find a reliable place for extract chemicals that will serve for produce autoguns, fuel and anything we may need. a marsh for example ?

Agree with the sister on burning the foul tree ... but what if first we show to this feudals the complete and absolute superiority of the imperial faith ? As it stands their trees not only seems a symbolic religious but a very relevant cultural one. If we are able to gain their trust and devotion first, destroying their trees would then be completely natural. Being feudals this people lack much, as such if we make them see the differences between being a follower of their faith and being a believer of the emperor they could easily convert and abandon this trees behind.

Agree with the Magos for make the prisoners slave workers.
>>
>>4073127

You confront the mob of faithful in front of the tree in the godswood. Arguing that you cannot risk to further alienate the northeners, you order the tree be spared.

Cochitia is furius, storming off with the rest of her followers, no doubt to take her rage out on the unbelieving villages in the countryside.

The Magos's workshops should be to produce stub weapkns and ammjnition in higher quality. Howmuch in what time seems uncertain. He also begins work on making new artilery shells for your bassilisks.

The question of Lordship of the north still remains, as for the next strategic steps in your campaign

>>
>>4073150
what are one or two burned down villages anon we have a entire planet before us that we have to conquer and convert
>>
>>4073152
the main problem is not the villages

we simply say no to burning a tree of another faith. which is heretical. to a sister of battle. If we would have say something more than no perhaps, she would not be around burning villages. Which will probably have the same effect of burning the tree, since burning villages is not a good way for gain the north trust.

You order you magos to divide production. He gleefully puts his new soon to be servitors to workcl structing a steel mill, which will produce the minkng and construction equiment necesarry to begin larger industry.
Prospecting and mining coal and sulfur is high on the priority list.
From your conversations with Jon you have gleemed that the highlands in the southwestern part of the continent is rich in ore and mineral deposits. It is also the seat of power of a major noble family, the lannisters, who are currently the ones controlling the throne of this land.

Your men at the wall contact you over the vox system, informing you that the evacuation of the wildling tribes is going as oderly as could be hoped.
Your men have tallied twenty thousand have passed through, out of an estimated population of one hundred thousand. More arive every day and the space at the wall is getting crowded.
It is clear that they must be given lands to settle. Luckily the north is large and sparcely populated. However, it isndoubtful that any northern lord would be happy to gove up lands to these tribesmen.

Ask the Magos if the natural warmth that warms this great castle are natural hotsprings. It could be' used for energy, power to industry and greenhouses.

Talk with the few officers of our guardsmens, our army is becoming rather large and the formations of Thenn with auto guns will need a better training and command in battle. It could be better to start training our guardsmen in officers, for help us in command the army.

Allow the free folk lands to settle, while sending crows to the north lords of the border to come here and see what is made of this castle. Because we could do so in theirs and much more if they accept to become our vassals and accept our faith.

Talk with Jon on which North Lords are the most powerful.

Recruit and train more soldiers from the new faithful.

Redirect much of the new faithful for help the operations of the Magos and in the construction of a imperial chapel.

Continue the training of the Thenn and new recruits under the direction of our guardsmen, give them the new equipment produced (so they can change their bronze armors for example)

After inspecting the castle.grounds your Magos is delighted to doscover that it is situated atop a large geothermal energy vent. The hot springs should provide a huge boost.in energy generation and kickstart his blossoming industry.

You call a meeting with Jon, the wildling chieftans and your officers i the great hall.
You declare that the time has come to promote and train your guardmen into officer roles. The locals will need training by professionals, and the imperials who arived with you are better slent training and leading the locals than fighting on the frontlines.

You decide to send messaging ravens to all the northern lords, inviting them to winterfell to witness the glories of imperial technology and to swear fealty to their new Lord.
This meeting will also provide an opertunity to designate new lands for the wildling refugees.

You ask Jon about the Lords of the north. He informs you that of his late fatgeds bannermen, the Manderlies, Boltons and Karstarks where the ones with most men riding under them.
The ones most loyal to the Stark family should be the Mnderlies from White Harbor to the south, and the Glovers and Mormonts in the woodlands to the north west

>>
>>4074543
Yes sorry. Basically setting up that you plan a long term strategy. What is your goal? Who is your next target?
>>
>>4074864
I guess start consolidating our position for now. Ensure that Winterfell is rebuilt as best it can. Continue with the training of the troops. Wait for the Lord's to come to Winterfell to discuss the situation.

Also, what's the current line of succession for Winterfell, with Robb dead and the other two presumed?
>>
>>4074928
Well line of succession is one of the big questions hanging in the air.
The peasantry and lords are all confused as to who is in charge.
Despite your military might, which few have even seen, you are a foreigner with nonties tontheir feudal heirarki.
You need some sort of local legitimacy in order to rule effectivly

With King Robb dead and his two younger brothers presumed dead, the only confirmed living child of Eddard Stark is his daughter. But she is both a teenage girl and most importantly a hostage with the enemy down south.
This would make Jon the only lne with a real claim of any sort, despite being of illegitimate birth.

You could of course just proclaim yourself the new lord of the north by right of conquest, butnthat would make getting the other northern lords on your side much harder
>>
>>4074957
Hmmm. I guess we go with Jon for now, until we get our hands on Sansa. I guess Arya's gone as well? If any of the Lord's refuse to accept Jon we can just threaten them into submission. The annihilation of the Ironborn (?) Army should be sufficient. I feel like we should wait for the lords, and give the Magos free reign to do whatever he needs to get basic manufacturing going. Also ensure that we train as many of our Thenn and wilding troops as possible.

You send out ravens to all the northern castles. Demanding that they ride go winterfell and declare their alliegance to their new Lord Paramount, Jon Stark son of Eddard Stark.
The ravens fly off into the distance. Now you need only wait for their arival.

Jon is unsure of his ability to be the new Lord. He may be the sole heir but he is still a bastard son and was never groomed for this.
You ensure him however, that you can see a real spark of leadership within him, and that your teaining as a commisar gves you the ability to pick out those born with the talent for command.
You asure him that he has a great destiniy about him and that he has been given the devine priviledge of leading his people into the Emperors light

Your Magos is steady at work, setting up foundries and harnessing the geothermal hotsprings to generate electricity.
Apart from powering the foundries, a central heating system has been installed in the castle, circulating the hotwater through pipes, enabling each room to be heated constantly and cosistently. Tge local caretakers marvel at the technology, clearly impressed at the Omnisias divine blessings.

The training of the wildling auxiliaries goes marvelously as well. The guardsmen that survived the crash with you are all being educated in officer roles. Thier new ranks will give them comma d of a company of wildlings each. Teaching the nagives the proper discioline and command structure of an imperial army.

The wildlkngs have begun gathering under the symbol of a sun of a white field. Symbolising the eternal summer sun of their homeland and the lights triumoh over darkness in the colkng conflict. You are however free to picn another symbol for this new regiment if you so desire

As the weeks pass the northern lords finally begin showing themselves.

First and greatest to arive is Lord Wyman Manderly of White Harbor. He comes with a host of over 2000 men, as well as several smaller houses sworn under him.
Next to arive are house Hornwood and house Flint from the eastern part of the land.
Lastly comes small Jon Umber of last hearth, the lord of beat into submission on your march from the wall to Winterfell.

Notably absent are the Karstarks, Boltons and all the lords of the wolfswood and western parts of the country.
You have recieved several Ravens from the Glovers and other western houses explaining that they cannot abbandon their men or fiefdoms, as they are beset by Ironborn occupiers and raiders.

Most worringly though is a letter you recieved baring the royal seal of the iron throne, reading as follows;

"In the name of King Joffrey Baratheon, King of the Andals and the First Men and Tywin Lannister Lord Paramount of the Westerlands. I Roose Bolton, rightful Lord Paramount of the North and Lord of the Dreadfort, order the usurper Lord Otto of house Hellbruck to abbandon the castles he has taken, and return with his filthy wildling army to whatever backwater he crawled out of. He is then to surrender himself to me and stand trial for the murder of my son and the unlawful attack on my lands.
Fail to lay down your swords and face the kings justice, and i will personally see to that you and your army be flayed alive and displayed upon the Dreadfor for all the north to see. I have the backing of the crown as well as the great houses Karstark, Whitehill and Frey at my back, choose wisely usurper."

It seems that the position of lord of the north is contested, what is your response?

We will need to destroy first the incoming army of the Boltons, Karstark, Whitehill and Frey. Ask how many men they could have call to their following and if they are already marching united to Winterfell.

If they are already united and marching here we will wait them while we receive other reinforcements.

If they aren t we could strike at the one near us and avoid that he adds is forces to the ones of the Boltons

The north lords of the west will need for the moment to resist their sieges. When the Boltons are deal with, we will destroy this invaders.
Orders

-Ask the Magos if a few pieces of infantry mortars, rocket launchers and smaller autocannons would be possible to produce. Same for some shotguns and flamers, and ensure our soldiers are well armored. Vox devices and binoculars would be also beneficial with our growing army. For aid the Magos in is new endavours let him recruit workers both from northeners and wildlings, as well beasts of burden around (that will need to receive heated coats for protect them against cold).

-Talk about the need of a better transportation for our army. With the north being such a cold and snowy region, we need to move faster. Wood skis and sleds would be helpful in this regard, with the Magos knowledge and the aid of woodcutters and artisans we could start producing them. (they are present in some ice worlds ? If no don t count this part. Getting snowmobiles and snowcats would be good as well, but i recon our industry isn t that large at the moment and we need fuel sources)

-Talk with the canoness about the possibility of making the incoming battle against the Boltons and the future ones against the sea raiders, in examples for gain far more converts to the imperial faith as we will seen by the northeners as protectors and saviours. If it is possible we should find other ways for sway the population to the faith of the god emperor. We will give her the pass for find promising men between the new faithul, to make in priests. A chapel could be need for this, with the help of the magos and the faithful, one of the abandoned parts of the great castle could be rebuild and make in a modest temple of the god emperor.

Talk with the north lords about the natural resources of their lands and if they are all mapped and prospect.

You pen a letter in response, reading as this post.
>>4075073
You send it to the twins in the south where the original letter came from. >>4075352
You ask your scouts for information of the movements of the Bolton army.
It seems that the majority of their force are returning from the south from their campaign with the now late King Robb.
The Karstarks and lesser bannermen ride with them as well. Their march is stopped by Moat Cailin however, a fortification guarding the only reliable passage through the seampland separting the north from the kingdoms below. It is currently occupied by the Ironborn, filthy raiders from the sea, which yiu suspect of chaos worship.

You instruct your Magos in recruiting laborers and beasts of burden from tge wildlings. The abhumans that the locals simply call "giants" are a prime asset, aiding greatly in the construction of the first industrialized factory this world has seen, but certainly not the last.

You will need to move to descicily put down these Bolton usurpers. Reading about them in the castles archieves you have discovered that their line goes back many centuries of not millenia. Before the Starks took power in the north, their kind ruled as "Red Kings", cunducting flayings and bloody human sacrifices to satiate the so called "Red God".
The dreadful realization hits you that the gods of chaos have found a way to worm their tendrils even to a little insignificant world such as this.

In your rage you dispatch soster Conchitia to burn the dreadfort to the ground, to show an example of how heresy is treated in the new order.
She is still somewhat pissy after you denied her request to burn the tree, but she relishes the chance to purge a monument to the dark gods.

Meanwhile you must rally tge remaining nothern lords behind Jon and march south to crush the contenders.
>>
>>4075825
Cont.

With all the nothern lords gathered, you call a diet in the recently rebuilt great hall of winterfell.
The lords are all sat on two long benches running down the room, with a large podium at the end of the hall. You have taken your place at the center, in the chair usually reserved for the high lord. On the wall behind you is diplayed a massive imperial aquilla, symbolising the all encompassing power of the Imperium of Man. The banners in the room fly half the sigil of house stark, with the other half displaying the imperial eagle, according to the usual custom of Imperial Knight houses.

To your right sits Jon Snow, heor apparent to Lord Eddard Starks legacy. To your left sits Mance Rayder and Magna Styrr, represented the free folk and first of this world to see the Emperors holy light.

There is an ierie stillness over the room, and the lords are nervously waiting your first words...
>>
>>4075834
I ask myself, as I sit on this throne, what are these people thinking? They see before them a strange and unknown man from foreign lands. They see before them a would be conqueror, a self professed representative of some 'Emperor' who claims dominion over all men on this planet. They see before them the most ambitious, radical and determined man they have ever seen. Nowhere else on this planet would they find such an individual. Who is this man come before them, demanding fealty to him and his strange Emperor?

I will tell you this. With 200 men I survived these wildlings, even making good friends among their people, these so called savages from the lands of eternal winter. I lead them to the wall and together we humbled the Night's Watch. Together, we annihilated to the man the army that had burnt Winterfell and ravaged your lands. The lands you had sworn to protect. With less than 10'000 men we have marched from the cold, bitter north, we have accomplished feats that were never thought possible, and have brought such strange things never seen on this planet. Weapons that can cut a man down in a second. Light that shines far greater than any simple flame. A construction of weapons so swift, we can supply a small army in several days.

And now the leader of this strange force sits before you, having summoned the Lords of the North before him to swear fealty to the bastard son of Eddard Stark. They sit before the wildlings, the savages they have fought against for so long. They must wonder at these strange happenings. They must be asking themselves, what does this man truly want from us?

I plan to remake this world. I shall bring and end to these petty wars, this futile struggle over a throne of iron. My simple ambition is to bring this entire planet under the rule of the God Emperor. And I am inviting you into joining this enterprise.

We shall start with the treacherous Boltons and these Ironborn, abominable creatures who worship malicious beings and ravage your lands.
We shall wipe them out. We shall free your lands from the yoke of these vermin. We shall make the North a force to be reckoned with, a force that will accomplish even greater feats than what has already been done. The only question that remains is, will you join me?

We should be able to do that. Same for giving lands to the other wildlings tribes.

>>
>>4076228

>>
>>4076279
>>4076228
Now thats a damn good plan
>>
>>4076228
The plan in earlier threads was to keep them in the guard until we've taken lands in the South, rather than the shitty cold North.

They're the first regiment, that will receive the greatest rewards. We should continue improving their weapons, with the single shot rifles being passed on to newer troops. I liked to keep them as heavy infantry, armed with autoguns, chainswords, and plate armor. The most trustworthy should also be trained in use of the more advanced weapons like lasguns, flamers, and meltas for when our troops inevitably take losses

Once we've taken the whole of Westeros, our original guardsmen should be married into the major local noble houses and placed at the head

Shame we don't have more of the abhuman giants to use like ogryns, hopefully more will make it past the wall as refugees. They should be conscripted to act as builders and bred to increase their population. They are too rare at this point to use on the frontlines
>>
>>4075988
A fearful pause looms over the room, with the lords nervously looking at each other.
Finally the silrnce is broken, when a large man, wearing a green tabards stands from his seat.

>My son died. Fighting fighting the Lannisters with King Robb. My brother died, fighting the Mad King with Lord Eddard.
>Right now men are dying fighting over the Iron Throne in the south. Fathers, sons, brothers. All pawns in some pointless game.

He draws his sword at points it at you.

>I see with my own eyes what your Emperor is capable of. You have united some of the most savage and primitive clans into the most formideble army i have laid eyes upon. You have shattered battlements and laid down knights like straw.

He points his sword to the air.

>To the Emperor i the stars!

The rest of the lords follow suit, raising their swords and pledging themselves to Jon and to him on Holy Terra.

Excellent speech anon. 10/10.
The Lords gathered have all pledged their bannermen to you. A good half of them from the Manderlies.
Remember that the troops remaining i the north are second rate, as the majority and the best of them marched south and died with Robb.

Of the northern troops pledged to you, they number;
4000 light infantry and archers
1500 pikemen
700 heavy knights

This is in adition To the wildling army curently following you.

4000 Thenns, armed woth gleeming bronze plate and holy stubrifles, blessed by the emperor.

5000 wildling auxiliaries, armed with primitive spears and bows. They are however in the process of being given steel weapons.

500 members of the Spearwives of the Emperor. A fanatic band of female wildlings lead by Sidter Conchitia. They have stubrifles and a few flamers.

200 Imperial guardsmen, each promoted to serve as officers amongst the Thenn soldiers, commandkng a company of 200 men each.

The Boltons are reported to be at full strength.
Marching up with more than 6000 men under their banner. In addition to the Karstarks and Freys supporting them. Combined with pottential support from the crown and their numbers may well reach 15000.

The Lords are rallied and ready for battle. What is your orders?

Dig into Winterfell. We'll let the fuckers think that they can execute a normal siege.

Set up heavy weapon emplacements on the walls/arrowslits, and place wood ceilings over the wall to prevent arrows from hitting us.

Place discrete range markers around the castle for our gun users and basilisks. Our enemies will underestimate the range of our weapons and likely set up camps within range of the artillery.

When they arrive, we'll give them a chance to surrender and become servitors/slaves. When they inevitably ignore our generous offer, we allow them to return to their camp and begin shelling the camp, starting with their command tent. A quick sortie out with the Thenns and guardsmen to clean up and we'll be done
>>
>>4076941
Start getting the Magos to boost production as much he can. We want to focus on stubbers. The question is whether we should bring the fight to this army or meet them somewhere in the North? Are they past Moat Cailin yet? If they aren't, we should make haste with all speed to capture it.

Also, we should train up a small special forces unit for recon and general spec ops such as assassination. Perhaps grab a guardsmen or two and some Thenns?
>>
>>4076950
Actually, switching to this for what we do with the Boltons. Another quick idea: How much does the Magos know of cannon? As in, Napoleonic era cannon? The most difficult part will be shaping the ball and barrel, right?
>>
>>4076950
No the Boltens die. We will not give these demon worshipers a chance to surrender the rest can but not the Boltens
>>
>>4076950
I concur, we should also keep an eye where they put their siege implements, maybe we should pre-mark the locations the Bolton forces will form up camp so our shells can just slug them straight away
>>
This >>4076950 as well as >>4076954
I say we give em to the Cannoness and let her have fun with the heretics.
>>
>>4076950
My suggestion in full is as follows.

Prep for a siege use the local Lords to tell us where the enemy will likely set up camp and such. We pre aim/mark for the tanks so we can just have the coordinates of locations marked for shelling.

meanwhile we have a force some distance away using the superiority of the Vox to communicate with one another. Then once we shell them we allow the northerners to charge in there with heavy cavalry to mop them up but also sate their thirst for vengeance showing our view on oath breakers. Once the Boltons are broken we will give the Bolton lands to the Thenns as only the first token of their reward. This way the Wildlings can have somewhere to call home and refresh their loyalty.

Three-Eyed raven is likely Tzeench .
>>
>>4076954
Oh yeah, the leadership dies. I'm for offering their men a place in the Imperium, as they've not taken up arms against us yet. I'd like to broadcast the offer to the entire army from our Tauroxes, letting any man that lays down his arms join as either workers or soldiers(after heavy conversion by the Canoness).

>>4076955
We should ask our native lords where they would place siege engines if they were to assault Winterfell and mark out the various locations for our artillery officer
>>
>>4076963
Not the entire leadership, just Bolten the rest may find a way to repent and find a way to earn the emperor forgiveness. Since it was Bolten who turned on Robb and there is only death for traitor as that is the only reward they deserve
>>
>>4076960
A good plan, plus it would limit our potential casualties and ammo use. I support it with an offer to the common soldier to throw down their arms and live to serve the Emperor in the pacification of the South.

Sounds like the Ironborn have some corrupted story of the Unification Wars as their religion. The drowned god they worship fought against some kind of thunder gods, which could be a distorted story of the Thunder Warriors subduing techno-barbarians.

For the moment we will wait.

-In Winterfell us and our imperial officers, the wildlings chiefs with us and the North lords will work hard for be battle ready and further train all the army.

- We will also wait for the army to be' properly gear up and know how to use is weapons, like the Thenns receiving under their bronze armor imperial steel. Or the wildlings auxiliary fully upgrade in their gear.

- The Magos will concentrate on further advance the industrialization and to complete the demands of our army (ammo, weapons, military gear, armors and the creation of new lines of production for other weapons like portable infantry mortars, stub shotguns ecc). If is necessary for improve the production he will visit nearby (to Winterfell) mines, sawmills and caves for a few weeks for improve their production, efficiency and security allowing for far more raw materials to arrive in Winterfell.

- The Canoness after she returns from the Dreadfort will work on improving morale, while converting not only the population but even the soldiers of the army and the north lords. She is allowed to build a chapel and to create priests, that will be needed for the morale of our army.

-Send scouts for see the movements of our foes (Boltons/Ironborn). Avoid fighting or to be seen. Give them some newly craft binoculars

The north is rich in iron, lumber and a few silver deposits.
Your Magos is already hard at work making a gunpowder production line. Charcoal and Sulfur rocks are in good supply. The north contains vast forests, it needs only be exploited properly. Sulfur comes from the mining industry.
The biggest challenge is saltpeter, or natriumnitrate as it is known.
The production is rather lengthy, requiring drying and filtration of human and animal manure.

Luckily for you, the workers have installed a proper plumbign system in Winterfell castle, another gift from the Omnissiah.

>>4077055
You send of the Canoness with a band of the most fanatical freefolk, some 1000 strong, in the direction of the dreadfort. They are armed with stubrifles and a few flamers. Their orders are to raze the dreadfort and cleanse everything within with fire.

You plan to build up your forces and raise more levies from the nothern lands. The Boltons will need to either besiege or storm Moat Cailin, either task will delay them long enough for you to burn their castles and to build up enough to crush them.
>>4076921
You have started to pin point possible settlements for the wildling clans, making sure to devide them up as to reduce tribal conflict. The lands of the traitor lords are a prime target, as well as the vast unpopulated plains and woods.
>>4076279
The Thenns however you refuse to give anything, you promise only the best lands for your most loyal servants, they shall be able to pick any castle and domain once the continent is under your rule.
They are being continued to be supplied with the best gear. Steel plate armour rimmed with bronze. Stub rifles or heavy stubbers and great intimidating facehelms. They are your elite, the first witnesses to the Emperors word and your loyal sword brothers. Inspiring fear and terror into any who would question your word

As the days go by more and more wildling refugees arive from up north. They seem to treck down to winterfell, as rumors are spreadign about work, food and warm houses are spreading. They have begun constructing small huts, tents and wooden houses (think viking house styles), you are counting more than 2000 civilians currently, with more arriving daily. To help feed them, your workers have started constructing great greenhouses, warmed by the geothermal energy beneath the castle. Infrastructure is quickly expanding, and it is clear that the foundations for a new city are developing. Great for industry and production, but bad for the ability to resist sieges and feed your men.

Your Magos has constructed a dozen or so simple snowspeeder APCs, able to carry scouts quickly over the snowy landscape and report to you.

Scout reports show that the Boltons grew impatient, they stormed moat Cailin and flayed the defenders alive. While the news of the chaos worshipers killing each other delights you, this now means that their host is within a weeks march from Winterfell. The time for action seems to be fastly approaching.

(I recommend getting some maps of the north out and drawing battle plans upon them. Just so i can keep track)
>>
>>4077224
We should send a few APC to harass the Bolton force as they move north baiting them further North and keeping track of them. Nothing too forceful just killing their outriders and any messengers they might send out.

>>

>>
>>4077224

Harass them with light cavalry. This cavalry shall only harass avoiding direct combat.

Slowly but surely they will arrive at Winterfell. We will let them come near and do a surprise attack on their force when they begin to siege us.

We will eliminate their commanders first.
>>
>>4077224
We've plenty of trees and men, cut down a shitload of the forest and build a wooden palisade around our new city. It'll also give a nice broad killing field for the Boltons

>>4077263
>>4077240
Let's only send natives armed with normal weapons, let them think that stories of our weapons are just that. Maybe have a couple snipers that can take out middling commanders, leave the head of the army alive but kill off his lieutenants
>>
>>4077321
>>4077263

You deside to keep the secrets of your armaments hidden, instead relying on light cavalry and wildling raiding parties.
They will harry their scouts and burn their suplies. Accompanying them are 20 of your finest snipers, to take out lietenants and important commanders, however leaving Lord Bolton alive to witness his slaughter.
Some of your officers doubt that a mere twenty men could cripple an entire army, but you have a good feeling in your gut about this.

Pretty abysmal results to be honest.

The harrasment operations seem to yield no results. Few of the wildling cavalry have returned and you have lost contact to your sniper teams.
Perhaps 20 men bringing down whole armies was simply the stuff of really bad stories for children.

Good news come however from sister Conchitias mission at the Dreadfort. She and her followers set upon her the Dreadfort without warning and brutal efficiancy. They reported to find many diplays of heresy and utter degeneracy, with live flayings, mutilation and blood leeching. The defenders with few, being led by women, perhaps the lovers of the Bolton lords.
They where all slaughtered to the man by the fanatical wildlings, and the fortress burnt to the ground with promethium flames.

You order the futher building of trenches and wooden pallisades, spikes and barricades to fortify the blossoming wildling city (which still needs a name).
Not a moment too soon, as your scouts begin to report back, that the enemy is within a day or two.

Battle plans my lads :)

A 54 and a 52. Middle of the road. Your overall plan goes well, but there will be unexpected turns...

Your set up your men in the desired formation and await the enemies next move.

The Bolton army aproaches over the horrison, assembling itself in the fields before winterfell. Through your binoculars you can see their banners, Bolton, Frey, Karstark, Whitehill, Goodmen and many more minors too irrelevant to count.

There is a pregnant pause in the air, as your men steady their firearms, ready for the slaughter to come. The civilians have sought refuge within the castle, but it can only hold so many... The vast majority of them are still within their tents and huts in the encampment.

Finally the dreaded silence is broken by a faint trumpet horn, and two collums of horsemen begin to ride forth from the enemy army formation.
It seems that the fools have fallen for your trap, as they have immediatly sent in a probeing cavalry charge.
The horses charge through the chokepoints until the opportune moment. You give the signal to the officers, and the Thenns open fire. Heavy stubber rending meat and flesh and shattering steel and bone. The sight of primitives being felled by industrialized arms never ceases to bring a smirk to your jaw...

While the reaping is taking place, the enemy army slowly advances at a marchign pace, letting your fire be drawn to the outriders. As the last straglers of the first wave are finished off the army comes to a halt.

After halting the enemy army just stands there, out in the open. Until you hear another trumpet sound, this time with a different rythem of blasts, and another wave of horsemen and infantry charge forth.

Again you give the order to fire, and the heavy stubbers and boltguns continue to roar, felling the enemy again as they are forced through the chockepoints.

However as the deafening roar of the weapons stop you begin to hear the screaming and cries of men and women at your southern flank, and you realize what the enemy commander has done.
He has used his men as a distraction, turning your weapons against the poor souls he sent forth, while he has diverted a smaller force through the forest to attack your encampment by the back flank.

What is your responce? And remember to make rolls

While they take on the flankers, have the artillery focus fire on the massed formations to the north. These savages are reliant on banners, horns and horsemen to communicate, locating their center of command should be simple. Blow the commanders to pieces.

You send the light infantry down to reinforce the southern flank. The wildlings should be well motivated in protecting their kin, and the primitively armed northerners would be useless on the front anyhow.
While they are successfull in beating ack the flanking maveuver, disaster strikes as the charging cavalry raider have managed to incite a full scale panic within the civilian encampment. A large stampede has formed, trampling tents, people and soldier caught in it alike.

You ready the tauroxes and bassilisk artillery to shell the enemy army into oblivion. However as the first shell is about to be fired something terrible goes wrong. The shell of the bassilisk detonates with the chamber, resulting in a massive explosion rendering the self proppeled artillery piece and the nearby tauroxes completly unoperational, the crew of the tauroxes rushing out to roll themselves in the snow.

I back lads, seems like this was what you decided on

>>4077752

You redirect a battalion of your Thenn elite into the back flank, supported by a equally sized group of Stark bannermen.
They make their way into the tent-town, acting as both reinforcemnts and riot controll, their presence bringing order and safety to the hearts of the panicking civilians.
They engage the raiders in a heavy street brawl, the stub rifles proving slightly less effective in the tight streets of the virgin city.

Still, the Thenns are the Emperors elite, and with courage and brutal efficiancy, they manage to beat the flankers back.

Meanwhile on the frontline, the enemy sends the rest of its cavalry into a suicidal charge. Hoping to overwhelm you as you are distracted at your southern flak.
The horsemen are naturally laid low by your heavy machineguns, without a single one reaching your frontline, however in their wake the enemy has sent most of their infantry in a large frontline assault, the ones at front bearing the twin towers sigil of house Frey. Heavy stubber ammo is running low.

A few of the untrained northern bannermen at the front try to run in fear, clearly not trusting the supperiority of the holy imperial arms, they are quickly made an example of by your boltpistol.

As before, debate your next move and then make a roll for the consensus
>>

Two good rolls.

The flanking Boltons are driven out of the city, routing and running for their lives.
The fighting has not been without price though, as your Thenns have suffered moderate casualties in the streefight. To catch the fleeing cowards, you order out the Manderly knights to cut them down, making short work of them.

As the souther flank is secured, your battalions redirect to reinforce the main line.
The enemy charges with suicidal fanatism. Although you have little positive thoughts on these heretics, who can appreciate that they manage to inspire such discipline in their men. They clearly fear what lies behind them more than what lies in front of them.

No matter, they fall before your bullets and grenade fragments all the same. As ammunition wears thinn the enemy manages to close the gap, reduced to a good fourth of their original size, their corpses littreing the battlefield.

A brutal melee ensues, your men not giving the enemy a single inch over the defencive lines. As victory comes more and more within sight you finally decide to give the order for the encirclement.
Two battalions of nothern cavalry ride out the castle gates, accompanied with the first ever snow speeder squadron.

As the brawl continues you find yourself in a clearing, upon the hill you see the enemy commanders looking over the melee. They are looking nervous and ready to flee, obviously pessimistic at their chances of victory.
Then HE sees you, the man who killed his son, the man who burnt his castle and slaughtered his servants but most importantly, the man who dismantled his entire plan for dominion over the northlands.

He hits his horses reins and rushes at you. You dont quite understand why, perhaps out of anger, perhaps because he has nowhere to flee to, or perhaps out of some twisted sense of honor, but the heretic is actually charging at you.

As his horse gallops towards you, you straighten your yourself, put your offhand behind your back and assume the fencing position that they taught you in the Ordo Prefectus.
As his horse is about to colide with you, you gracefully step to the side, while effortlessly running your power sword through his steed, cleaving the poor animal in half.

Lord Bolton falls to the ground, but before you can rush to finish him he jumps to his feet. The expression on his face is one of pure rage. He swings his sword at you but you dodge every strike. He may be a highly trained nobleman, but you have dueled litteral daemons and hellspawn, he is but an infant to you.
You evade his strikes for a few moments more until an opening shows itself

How will you finish him off? I leave that to you

As he cries out in pain you circle around and in one swift movement you do a legsweep move with your word, severing his legs and letting him fall to the ground
>For vengeance!
He falls gracelessly to his stomach wailing in pain from the maiming. You put your boot on his spine, just below his neck. You press him to the ground, apllying your full bodyweight to him, watching him squirm like the insect that he is caught beneath your foot.
You take your sword into both of your hands, pointing the tip downwards.

As the fighting dies down and the few enemy survivors are put in chains, you have a chance to survey the results of the battle.
Corpses litter the fields outside winterfell, the enemy fought with courage and fanatism which meant most chose death over retreat.
Of the 16000 that marched on you, 14000 now lie as feasts for the crows.
Of your own casualties the results are thankfully lighter.

Over 1000 civilians died in the raid and following stampede, as well as considerable property damage to the town and industrial buildings.
Over 1500 wildling light infantry and 2000 northerners perished holding the defensive lines, when the ammo ran out and the brutal melee erupted.

And of the Thenns fighting for you, the emperors elite, 500 out of the 4000 currently serving fell, most of them in the city trying to contain riots and fighting in the narrow streets. Many also died to malfunctioning grenades and explosives, your Magos will clearly have to answer for his sloppe craftsmanship.
Just over a tenth of them are gone, these brave souls are with the emperor now.

Perhaps the greatest setback however are the grave malfunctions of your vehicles. The two tauroxes are bladly damaged, due to being in proximity with the exploding basilisk, they should be opperational again after extensive repairs in a couple of weeks. For the basilisk itself however, its a bit more of a grave case. The entire crew perished during the explosion, and the cannon has been reduced to scrap metal. The chassis itself might become operational again if your Magos can work his magic, but the gun itself will need a complete rebuilding.

5 brave souls, they came from a world for off only to perish here. They will be remembered as heroes.

As for supplies then your ammo reserves are almost depleted, they will need to be restocked once Palladius can get industry going again. This will take time however, as much of the industrial capacity was destroyed during the panic.

The battle is won and the Boltons vanquished. Your men are due for a celebration i feel.
The next plans for the campaign are of course varrented

(So ends the Bolton arc. I didn't want the struggle for the north to be a complete walk in the park, but i think the boltons provided a nice little midgame boss. Mostly due to shit rolls and some weird descission on your part. The stampede is a direct consequence of you not meeting them at Moat Cailin, but insisting fighting them at a vulnerable civilian area)
>>
>>4079589
Time to loot the bodies for steel and weapons, we just got a massive supply.

Lets start repairing our vehicles and instituting more stringent controls in the production of weaponry.

Meanwhile, we should send a group of soldiers to secure the Moat and rebuild it for stopping any more armies from reaching the North over land. With the North secured, we should rebuild for a month at least. We can continue producing firearms for our army and training them in line tactics. Setting up a ammo mill that can mass produce it for our stubbers is vital to preventing our troops from getting into melee
>>

We need to deal with the iron born
>>
>>4079626
We've no naval capacity at the moment save for whatever our new vassals can provide. We can clear them out of the North, but it'd be better to get a solid base before we go after them.

Later we can just place some grenade launchers/rockets on local ships and blow the shit out of the ironborn navy
>>
>>4079628
I don t mean by sea, but their sieges of the western north castles should still be there. The ones that the crows we have send have inform us about.
Anyway, unless against enemies with far superior numbers maybe we should be on the attack.

>>4079589

Can we interrogate/search for our snipers ? or at least their equip.

Send a demand to surrender to the defeated northern houses

For the rest recover and rebuild the industry/settlement. Draw a plan for a new stone wall (or more) around the city and castle for is protection.

Prepare the men again as we will need to lift the sieges of the ironborn in the west
>>
>>4079589
Supporting the general recuperation and preparation for the Ironborn. What's important now is repairing our losses and ensuring the Magos perfects our industry. I'd also like to train up a special forces unit, for general harassment, assasination and recon of the enemy. I'd like to get them to a point where we can execute a smash and grab on Sansa later.
>>
>>4079623
Immediatly after the battle you order your troops to loot the dead. The masdive surplus in steel armour and weapons will prove a great boon in arming your wildling auxiliaries.

You decide upon a months recuperation and rebuilding. Ammo mills must be constructed, factories built and the growing city must be properly fortified and expanded with infastructure.

Your men are overall jovial at the victory. The freefolk have been feasting for days, taking part in the enemies supplies and dead horses.
The northern troops have been a bit more hesitant breaking bread with the wildlings, but have been openk g up a bit more to their new brothers in arms.

Sister Conchitia has returned with her mob of faithful from the Dreadfort. They carry with them all ghe gold and riches that where kept at that place, allong with whatever they could loot from their grain stores.

In honor of him on Terra, they have begun cobstruction of a great temple at the heart of the blossoming city, built in the style of norse staves churches. Pic related.

Great debate amongst the faithful has arisen among the faithful, wether er not to adapt existing religious festivals into the Imperial faith, or to ban them outright as heresy.
This will likely need futher imput on your end
>>

>adapt existing religious festivals into the Imperial faith, or to ban them outright as heresy
That's seems the perview of missionaries and confessors, for now just ban any ritual involving human sacrifice, cannibalism and sorcery. I don't doubt Sister Conchitia will probably be eager for more but this is barely a feudal world, and we don't blame the feral worlder who thinks the Imperial Palace is their sun.

As the influx of migrants continues, the population of the city is reaching its 3000 mark. To meet he increasing demands for food and agriculture, you have begun construction of four great greenhouses, powered by the warmth supplied by the geo thermal springs. Together with some of the best fertiliser mixes in the imperium, feeding a city has become much easier, only incentivizing futher influx.

The situation at the wall currently seems stable, with seach parties comprised of the best trackers the wildings have to offer going out into the wilderness in the lands beyond the wall, trying to find and guide as many tribes and villages to safety as possible. Worryingly however is the fact that more and more villages they come upon seem abandoned.

The garrison of the wall is in one of the bests conditions it has been in a while. Several of the abbandoned castles have been taken by various chieftans of the wildling tribes. The biggest tribes present are the Hornfoots, Nightrunners and Birchlings. Each of them have claimed two castles for themselves, manning them with a force of 400 men at each location.
Together with the surving members of the nightswatch order, reluctantly servering alongside their former enemies, as well as additional freefolk at castle black, the total manpower count at the wall is numbering around 4000.

>>4079736
Back at Winterfell you have begun tallying your forces again as well.

The most skillful of the wildling auxiliaries are being inducted into the greater Thenn order, recieving new autoweapons, plate armour and training to match such an esteemed brotherhood.
The various northern lords are also being instructed in the art of this new age of warfare.
The Thenns patrol up and down the newly formed city streets in blatant expressions of the imperiums might, signaling the order and comfort that comes with imperial rule, their bronzen armour inspiring the hearts of all wilding children that lay eyes upon them.

the general plan has ben to rebuild industry, resuply your ammunition stores and then march west to kick the Ironborn invaders back into the sea.
You have recently discovered a perfect ace up your sleave however.

The pompous lordling you found in the stockade of the army you defeated outside winterfell has been confirmed by Jon to be the only living son of the Ironborn King. While Jon has been furious at his apparent betrayal and murder of his borthers, you have kept the prisoner from any serious harm. Such a high ranking hostage could prove extremely valuable in forcing the invaders out of the country.

(This also confirms that the army you slaughtered before taking Winterfell was Ramsay Boltons. They where also the ones that burnt winterfell in canon. As for what happened to Ramsay himself is hard to say. Maybe he was slaughtered by the machineguns, or maybe he fled. However i dont think i'll be including him anymore in the story, as at this point he has no reasources to pull on and would just be a glorified bandit leader.)

Things you will have to deal with;
>Roll for how well your Magos resupplies your ammunition and weapon store
>Roll for how well vehicle repair go
>Roll for city growth and industry construction

>Decide upon a name for the city
>Decide how to tackle the Ironborn

The armament industry goes well beyond expectations! Sulfur, charcoal and saltpeter is being brought in from all availiable corners of the realm. The newly arving migrants are eager to put themselves to work in the two great factories that have been constructed outside the city, a big idustrial slum quater slowly taking form.
You should by all estimation have enough ammunition and weapons to supply a force of over 5000 men. This is significant and more than you could ever have hoped for.

The repair to your vehicles goes amazingly as well! (DAT 100)
Not only have you been able to get the Tauroxes up to working condition in record time, the basilisk that suffered the catastrophic malfunction has been repaired as well, cannon and all!.
How your Magos managed to get he scrapped cannon into this pristine condition is beyond your ability to comprehend, but it is a sure sign that the Omnissiah shines his favor upon you again.

The health of the newly named city of Emperorsburg seems to be goigng the oposite direction however (4).
The experiments with the greenhouses have largely failed, and food shortages are growing by the day. In responce to this, more and more wildlings are abbandoning the city, leaving behind empty homes to go live in the wilderness again.
The ones staying behind are getting more and more malnourished.
By your reports, the city population seems to have stagnated at around 2000 now.

In responce to the decaying health of his new subjects, and the continued occupations of his western territories, Lord Jon has called you and his vassals to a council meeting in the great keep.

Present at the gathering is Lord Jon, Wyman Manderly, Small Jon Umber, Lady Lyessa Flint and several minor lords and knights.
Also with you are Mance Rayder, King of the freefolk, and Magna Styrr, Emperors champion and chieftan of the Thenns.

Jon rises from his chair, the Imperial aquillas wings flying proud on the wall behind him.

>My Lords. I have called you here today to discuss the situation at hand. It has been three weeks since we defeated the Boltons, and i have been growing tired of sitting idly here walled up in my father castle.
>While we wait, the Ironborn continue to reave and rape our shores. While we wait, my sister Sansa, my only living kin, is still chained up by our enemies down south.
>And if that weren't enough, as we the living keep fighting each other, the dead continue their march.

> "King Stark.... I share your impatience to deal with these Ironborn Heretics in the name of the Emperor, however we needed to recoup and prepare in the time we have had until now"

The Imperial Commander stands and gazes at the other gathered lords.

"Who among you is ready to drive these Squid into the Earth and bury them away from their disgusting heretical beliefs!"

"Let us go forth and smite these filth and restore northern rule!"

He draws his sword dramatically.

"We will slaughter them like the beasts they are on each coast and make captive their leader, fortify and stage at moat cailin to sweep south and resupply the wall with the weapons to keep the dead at bay until we are ready to smash them completely!"

Ok so my plan for this:
We’re in no shape to fight Stannis right now so we don’t
Tell Jon to welcome him at the harbour
Pull back the troops that are more exotic (Thenn elite and our guardsmen; any others with firearms)
Let Stannis come and go
Keep preparing for the inevitable clash then when we’re ready go in for the kill
>>
So it seems like the general consensus is to meet with this pretender to the thrones and measure him up? From a position of strength with your army at your back or course
>>
>>4081460
Sure I fw this
>>
>>4081417
Allowing his army to disembark would be disastrous from a material standpoint. We'd lose more people in a land battle with him than we'd save by waiting.

I say have a ship wait outside the harbor to explain our terms to him then allow his flagship to dock while the rest of his fleet anchors outside the harbor. Once he's on land we show off the Thenns and guardsmen and explain that we are happy to let him take control of the south in the name of the God-Emperor. He can either accept that role, return south and do what he wants until we come to conquer the South, or we shell his fleet and have our men destroy his ship
>>
>>4081417
I mean if we ambush him at the docks his army will break and die pretty easily.
White harbor is build to defend land AND sea.
And his rag tag merc army will not stand up in the face of the Emprahs firepower.
They will just cut and run once they feel the battle is not in their favor.

You debate with the Lords and come to the decision that you, Jon and Lord Manderly will ride to White Harbour to negociate with this southeer pretender king. Perhaps his claim to the throne of this land could be useful if he was brought over to your side. Reading up on Lord Stannis is a mixed bag, some sources state him as a dutifl and stern ruler, with a sense for law and order. But there are rumors of him contorting with witches and sorcerers, but if these are propaganda or true you cannot discern.

The next day following the wedding celebrations of Alys Karstark and Sigorn Thenn, your armies march out with high morale and good spirits.
You take 3000 Thenn legionaries with you, as well as most of Lord Wymans bannermen. You are also bringing the two bassilisks in order to pottentially shell and sink Stannis' fleet of negotiations go sour.

Simultaniously, you are also sending a relief force to Torrens square, composed of 500 wildling auxiliaries armed with stub rifles and 2000 Stark bannermen. Torrens square is the closest Ironborn occupied castle, and will need to be taken in order to campaign futher west.

(And this is where i will be closing off for today, see you guys tomorrow)

The march to White Harbor is rather uneventful. Lord Wyman, despite his overweight and rather dimwitted facade has shown himself an excellent conversational partner, understanding concepts of technology far better than most of these feral worlders.

As you travel through the countryside, you encounter several villages along the way. The inhabitants of the north are generally friendly and hospitable, coming out of their homes to watch the strange bronze clad soldiers mach down the road.
Jon is doing his best trying to inspire morale and good spirits in his subjects, these are dark times and having the common people see and interact with their king is proving a great boon.
In the evenings when the army makes camp, Jon is continueing his pistol training with you. He has been improving considerably since the last battle, although you could hardly call him a sharp shooter. He seems to have a aura of worry about him however, likely due to the loss of his family and he weight of the crown bearing on him.
You should probably talk to him to try and cheer him up.

After a week of marching you finally reach white harbor. It is the only real city in the north (at least until Emperorsburg was constructed) but you would hardly call it impressive by what you have seen throughout your life.
It is built of white washed-out stone, with clean straight cobbled streets. There is a fair bit of Harbor activity, as it is the main tradehub connecting the north to the rest of the world.
Thankfully the Baratheon fleet has yet to arrive.

I have provided you with a map to draw on to set up army positions. You also have a few days ingame to work with, if you want to do somethign special in whiteharbor before Stannis arives

Place basalisks (red) at the lower southwest gate, store them behind the gate at the ready to drive forward and start shelling. Put two thirds of the Thenns(blue) with them to defend in the event of any survivors reaching shore.

Have Stannis' flagship(brown) tie up at the middle dock, with our Thenn honor guard nearby to flex on the savages and destroy the ship if needed.

While we're waiting, have the castle maester send a raven out to the Citadel asking that they send representatives to us. Once they see our advanced technology, they can be converted into the cult of the Mechanicus and urge the locals to submit

Have the two tauroxes on either side of the entrance to the harbour, the prong like things. For the rest of our troops, line the wildlings and Northmen armed with stubbers against the wall, to display our strength. Make sure to mention to Stannis that one man armed with a stubber can take out several men before fighting in melee. Keep the Thenns hiddden in the city if anything goes wrong during the negotiations. For the basilisks, have them in the fields outside the city. They can bombard the ships if we need them, and it would be best to keep them hidden. Talk to Jon in the few days we have, see how he's going. As for anything special, I have no idea. Anons?

Actually, supporting this. I'd still like an opportunity to talk to Jon though.

should definitely talk with Jon, explain that he is not meant to bear the weight of the crown alone. All good commanders know when to delegate and to build a cadre of competent officers. Have him select natives to serve as his high lords, and have a few guardsmen join by marrying into the nobility
