Your name is Michael Carmichael. A nineteen year old who is currently in his first super fight, against the metahuman bruiser known as Cinderblock in a shipping warehouse that housed a mafia smuggling ring. Now however-

Handle it! You shout to Manhunter pointing at the screaming trapped ladies who have begun to panic. She repeats the same words back to you pointing at the colossal supervillain who is about to grab the sole column holding the foreman's office above the chaotic shop floor. If he suceeds in what he's doing; it won't matter how good Manhunter is at directing the cramped masses out - the bodycount will be.

Unacceptable.

Unleashing the Sapphire Power from within you, you channel it all into one single blast toward Cinderblock. Using the hole in the floor like an improvised machine gun nest. Your costume's accents glow, giving you the appearance of some otherworldly figure of fury when you rain Blue Death from the sky. And Cinderblock strolls right into it.

While it would be a stretch to say he is unscathed, you wouldn't exactly call your assault succesful. He stops for a second, glares at you and then marches onward.

You shout gibberish as you dig deeper into your well, summoning up an orb of blue energy in front of you. Out of sheer inspiration you submerge both your hands in it; pumping it chock full of power until you can taste the air being cooked by it. Just as Cinderblock is getting ready to grip the column beneath your feet; you tear the orb in half.

You now have a giant orb of Sapphire the size of a boulder stuck to each of your palms and as you aime the first one right for his face you.

As you prepare to slam down the biggest blast of Sapphire Power you've ever controlled, you're pulled out of your focus by a figure somersaulting from one shipping container to another.

As he spins, he brings a bow across his body and fires into the back of Cinderblock. You see white waves fly from the point of impact like a shockwave, and the giant staggers forward.

You do not hesitate and your orb of pain takes Cinderblock in the chest, as he reels forward the Archer's surprise attack. Between the two of you have brought him to one knee. It is an opportunity!

Quickly taking stock, you catch a glimpse of Manhunter's rear end while she bails on the situation from an upstairs window. Before she decided to ditch, she did at least leave a trail of crippled and injured goons in her wake. And if you're not mistaken, the main shutter raising is her handiwork.

The archer; either Green Arrow or Speedy you hope, is pelting Cinderblock relentlessly from shadows, higher ground and moving around so much even you can't predict where he'll take the next shot from.

Your phone rings and you answer; "Billy. I can't help but feel you didn't do your job."

"What, nobody's came in, but the cops are coming now. They're only a few blocks away. Do you have Jenny?"

"All the girls are about to come out the main door. Be ready to get her out of here."

You hang up on him and consider what the right play is.

> You've done enough. Time to go.

> Finish off Cinderblock.

> Manhunter ditched you. You are not letting her get away with that.

> Knocking off Green Arrow or speedy would give you massive villain cred...

You decide that with this archer playing clean up that Manhunter has the right idea and decide to get out of dodge in a hurry. Leaping over the wreckage of the office is easy and fluid, like water heading downhill. The stairs, though loud and attention catching are crossed in a matter of seconds.

And bursting into the night is like escaping from a vcuum, fresh air like gold in your lungs. As your feet thunder across the roof, you're grinning like a madman; guitar case slamming against your back as you pick up speed and leap across the alleyway to the nearest building. You hope the guy got his girl and got the hell out of here, because nobody wants to be around when that red and blue tide crashes down on Bonnuci's warehouse.

In fact, you should probably get around to your base of operations before thie whole bourogh gets swarming with the law. But, before you do there's the matter of your stalker to deal with.

You find yourself staring right into the face of the homeless man from before. Just staring at you without blinking.

"So funny story."

"You had the chance to stay and help further, but chose to leave. Why?"

"What? What do you mean, i'm just... jogging."

"Jogging? Not disrupting the operations of a local criminal enterprise?

You sigh, this guy just was not willing to play along with your ruse. He is unrused and still is not blinking. "What could I do that those archers couldn't? They're heroes, I'm..."

"What are you, Michael Carmichael?"

> Leaving, I'm leaving.

> Not a hero anyways.

> I'll let you know when I know.

> What, you think I should be a hero? Because I gave you fifty bucks.

> You shouldn't know my name, the hell's happening here?
>>
Archived, will update ASAP.
