>InformationThis quest takes place long before the events of The Last Airbender. Long before Aang, Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, or Yangchen. You play as a young Earthbender from a small village in one of the many Kingdoms scattered across the main continent. As a powerful villain strives to dominate the world, you will be forced to make choices that can stop it, aid it, or have no effect whatsoever.>RulesAfter each update I make, there will be a voting period of ten minutes. Once ten minutes have passed, whatever option has the most support will be the winner.Write-ins are accepted, but only when specified If you see a write-in option, suggest whatever you like. If not, choose from the options I have provided.Sometimes, rolls will be required. I will assign them, and they will operate under a d100 system. You will have three chances, and if one of the rolls succeeds, you pass. There are no crits, but I do take into account how much you succeed or fail by.I reserve the right to veto certain write-ins, but will try to avoid doing so.I hope you all have fun
The village has been tense lately.Normally a peaceful place, free of war, and even mostly free of crime, the village you call home has always been a wonderful place to live. Everybody knows each other, and virtually everyone treats one another with kindness. Sitting at the edge of a forest, and close to a stream, there is always plenty of exploring to do, fish to catch, and a myriad of other things to occupy your time, which is good, because there aren't many people your age living there. You're fourteen years old, still quite young, but reaching the age where responsibilities are beginning to appear, and your free time is becoming more and more precious to you. Your parents run a small shop, selling hand-crafted trinkets to scrape together a living.Your father is an Earthbender, and a veteran of the last war your kingdom fought in. He's known as a hero to the villagers for helping keep the kingdom safe and independent. Now, he's been called by Lord Ghonhu to defend the western border, as have most of the men from your village. In fact, aside from the elderly, you're really the only man in this village. So, your mom's been depending on you more these past few weeks. Right now, she's sent you off to gather some firewood. You're in charge of preparing dinner tonight, so you don't have too much time to waste. You can head to the North woods and probably finish quickly, or head South to the stream and see if your friend Handa is there.>A. Head North>B. Head South
>>4168715>B. Head South
>>4168715>B. Head SouthWhen in doubt, go South.
>>B. Head South
>>4168717>>4168728>>4168738There isn't any need to rush, so long as you don't waste too much time. You decide to go South. The walk through the woods to reach the stream is usually pretty safe, but you stay alert. The forest always has its predator's, and you don't have any weapons on you. At least, no normal ones. You're an Earthbender, one of the few in your village. Your father's taught you the basics, and you're pretty sure you could hold your own in a fight, but it's probably better not to take that risk.Reaching the stream without incident, you find Handa, just as you were hoping. She's the closest to your age in the village, only a few months older than you. Her parents sell fish in the village, which is why she's at the stream today. You notice the spear in her hand, and the small pile of fish at her side. Looks like she's been hard at work today. Her back is turned to you, and she's wearing the simple brown clothing she normally puts on to do her job. Her shoulder-length brown hair blows as a small breeze comes through, and she raises her right hand, throwing the spear into the stream. When she pulls it back out, you see that she's managed to capture another fish.As she turns to add it to the pile, you walk over, offering a greeting."Hey," she greets pleasantly, setting the spear down for a second. "What are you doing out here?">A. Looking for firewood>B. You were bored, so you figured you'd come see her>C. You were hoping to snag some fish from her>D. Something else
>>4168766>A. Looking for firewoodFishing takes forever and I don't think mom will like us being late!

>>4168767>>4168770>>4168777>>4168771You explain to her that you were sent to find some firewood, but you got bored and decided to come see her.Her brown eyes narrow slightly. "Well, glad you think I'm more exciting than picking up sticks. But, I don't really have time to hang out today, there's a lot of extra work to do with dad called to the West."She's told you that a lot these past few weeks. The two of you usually spend your free time exploring the woods together, or sometimes skipping stones when you don't feel like doing that. But, with the men of the village gone, the children and teenagers have had a lot more work to do, and the two of you just haven't had any free time.>A. Try to convince her to take a break>B. Offer to help her with her work if she helps with yours>C. Go collect some firewood and promise to talk to her later>D. Something else
>>4168803>B. Offer to help her with her work if she helps with yoursTwice the speed
>>4168803>>B. Offer to help her with her work if she helps with yours
>>4168803>B. Offer to help her with her work if she helps with yours
>>4168809>>4168810>>4168811There is a way the two of you can do your jobs and spend some time together. You offer to help her catch some fish if she helps you collect some firewood. Her lips curl upward, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "I'm not so sure that's a good idea, remember last time?"You vaguely remember the spear ending up in a tree, and falling into the stream when you climbed up to try and retrieve it. But, in your defense, you're pretty sure that only happened because she decided to scare you when you were about to throw the spear. Still, that doesn't keep her from bringing it up constantly."Thanks," she tells you. "But I only brought the one spear. We can hang out later, okay?"That's that, you suppose. Agreeing to hang out later, you leave her to her work, and undergo the process of gathering firewood. It doesn't take very long, and you soon return to the village, placing the wood in its proper place. Now, all that remains to be done is for you to find something to eat. Stepping inside your home, you pass by your mother, who runs the shop on the ground floor."Did you get the firewood?" she asks, looking away from a customer for just a moment.>A. Yeah, you just need to hunt something to eat>B. Yeah, now you're going to see if you get get Handa to give you some fish>C. Ask where your dad's hunting spear is>D. Something else
>>4168832>C. Ask where your dad's hunting spear is

>>4168832>A. Yeah, you just need to hunt something to eat
>>4168867C. Ask where your dad's hunting spear is
>>4168839>>4168838Telling her that you have, you ask where your dad's hunting spear is."Hanging on the wall in my room," she answers before turning her attention back to the man in front of her. "Be careful out there."She doesn't say more than that; she has faith in you, and you know better than to mess around out there. Walking upstairs, you enter your parent's room, approaching the rack on the wall, which hangs below the head of a tigerdilo your dad killed some time ago.All of the other weapons are gone; your dad took most of them with him, and your mother carries the dagger he left begins. His spear hangs alone, and you leave the rack bare as you remove it.You've been hunting before, and there's plenty to eat around here, so you shouldn't have much trouble. The woods to the north are usually where you hunt, and, wanting to get this done with quickly, you decide to head there today.Creeping around while making as little noise as possible, you keep your ears open, searching for any sounds that could indicate some sort of animal. For a short time, you hear nothing, but as you continue your search, you hear a twig snap to your left.Stopping in your tracks, you slowly turn in that direction, finding yourself facing a tall bush, which begins to rustle.>A. Throw your spear into it>B. Earthbend a rock into it>C. Take a few steps back>D. Don't do anything, yet; stay still and wait to see what comes
>>4168873>D. Don't do anything, yet; stay still and wait to see what comesIt could be a animal or a person. Either way, prepare to throw a rock.
>>4168883>>4168885Ignoring your instincts to attack or retreat, you instead remain still, readying your spear and levitating a rock just in case it's a predator, but restraining yourself from throwing them in case it's a person. That turns out to have been a good decision, as what emerges from the bushes is indeed a person. She's a girl, looking not too much older than you, with short black hair, and green eyes that widen in surprise when she sees you standing there with a spear. Her clothes are ripped and dirty, making it difficult to tell what their original color was, and you notice a twig stuck in her hair. She's probably been traveling in the woods for a while, or else has had a very eventful trip.Eyes on your spear, she drops into a stance you recognize as one used by Earthbenders."Are you working for Jongu?" she asks, voice growing stern and eyes narrowing.>A. Who?>B. No>C. Ask who she is>D. Ask what she's doing out here>E. Something else
>>4168894>>4168906"Who?" you ask, confused."Jongu!" she repeats, her tone impatient. "The Warlord!""No," you tell her, not knowing who that is, but certain you aren't working for any Warlord. The girl visibly relaxes, though she maintains her stance, and eyes your spear cautiously. Her strange behavior and disheveled appearance prompt you to ask her who she is."I'm Lantana," she girl answers, her stern and irritable tone fading somewhat.. "What are you doing out here?""I'm hunting for my village," you answer. "But you look like you've been out here for a week, are you alright?""I'm fine," she answers. "Wait, village?"There's fear in her voice, and she looks over her shoulder for a moment before turning back to you."Show me where it is," she insists. "We have to warn them!">A. About what?>B. Alright>C. Tell her she's crazy>D. Something else
>>4168929B, then while walking, A.
>>4168938>>4168944"Alright," you relent, turning and rushing back toward the village.Despite clearly being exhausted, Lantana keeps pace with you pretty well, managing to stick just beyond you as you tear through the forest."Why are you so desperate about warning them?" You ask the girl, keeping up the running pace. "Because Jongu destroys every village that doesn't join him!" No longer caring about being quiet, you make a fair amount of noise as you run home, so much so that a few villagers have stopped what they're doing, and look toward the woods as you and the girl emerge from the trees."What's wrong?" Handa's mother asks, approaching you with a concerned expression."The village is in danger!" Lantana explains.Handa's mother regards the girl with a surprised expression. "And how would you know that? I've never seen you around here before.""I'm not from around here," she confirms. "I've been running from the people that are on their way here!">A. Wait, she lead this guy here?>B. How many are there?>C. How'd they get past the soldiers to the West?>D. Run home and warn your mother>E. Something else
>>4168975B, then going to warn Handa, Mom should hear about it when the village goes into an uproar, but if Handa's out hunting...
>>4168975>C. How'd they get past the soldiers to the West?
>>4169015Maybe a and b
>>4168979>>4169003>>4169015"Wait, you lead him here?!" you ask accusingly, feeling anger begin to bubble inside of you."No," she insists, holding up her hands defensively. "He's been heading this way for a while now, I'm just going in the same direction.""Who's coming?" Handa's mother asks."Jongu," Lantana answers. "He's a powerful Warlord who's been conquering Kingdoms on the Western continent. Now, he's leading his army this way."That would explain why your dad was called West. To reach your village, Jongu would have had to get through the defenses Lord Ghonhu set up on the border. You don't want to believe that something's happened to your father, so you ask the girl how Jongu's forces got past the soldiers."There weren't enough people to stop him," Lantana tells you, terrible regret in her voice. "They fought hard, but they were all killed or captured."You feel as though she just punched you in the gut. Your dad's gone, if not dead, being a held a prisoner by some kind of madman."How many people does Jongu have?" you ask numbly."A lot," Lantana answers vaguely. "I don't know exactly how many, but there seem to be more every time he captures a village.""Well, he's not going to capture ours," Handa's mother tells her, a determined expression on her face. She looks to you. "Warn your mother, and anyone else you can find, we need to defend the village.""You can't!" Lantana insists. "There are too many of them, you can't stop them!""This is our home," Handa's mother counters. "And we'll protect it with our lives.">A. Right (go warn the others)>B. You agree with Lantana, you need to run while you can>C. Ask how much of the battle Lantana saw>D. Ask Lantana if she can fight>E. Something else
>>4169037>B. You agree with Lantana, you need to run while you canSomeone ran this quest before didn't they
>>4169037>B. You agree with Lantana, you need to run while you canThen going to warn Handa.
>>4169044Is this quest going to end with us being crushed by a rock slide too?
>>4169039>>4169041Without warning, a barrage of massive stones flies through the air. Lantana was lying. The army was already here, she lead them here. What accompanies this realization is the crowd of villagers falling into a newly-bended pit that the black haired girl creates. You can't believe you trusted her! You run to try and warn Honda, your one true waifu. But it's too late, as despite being an earthbender, a big rock that you're aware of and can see coming hits you and everything goes black. >>4169047>>4169041>>4169039>>4168979>>4169003>>4169015>>4168835Thanks for playing everybody! >>4170124LMAO I didn't even make the quest! I just pointed out the obvious!
You know what would be extremely based? If someone jumped in and took the reins. I've seen it happen before. Too bad I'm a pussy.
>>4170405Well?Anyone interested enough to take up the mantle?
Started reading through this and instantly realized it was Som's earthbender quest. I'll never forget how many salty players there were after dying to a random rock to the head.
I don't know if anyone's going to see this message but there's no general for me ask questions. I'm planning to run my own bending quest hopefully in a few days.I've ran normal tabletop games before, been the reader to a few quests, and I write Fanfics, what am I in for?I have the general plot for three separate bending quests, right now I'm trying to fine tune other options and roll charts. Any advice is greatly appreciated, hopefully someone sees this.
>>4177646Mechanics are a big part. Try and fine tune how everything will work and give players interesting story option. Good luck, Will see you when you run it
