Meet Yū Tatsumaki, eighteen-year-old highschool prodigy and notorious problem solver. Be it games, exams, puzzles or any other form of challenges your acute five sights (Foresight, Insight, Hindsight, Clearsight, and Farsight) generally gave you the means to overcome virtually any obstacles and claim victory. As a result, you found yourself incapable of truly interacting with others and make any companions due to those exceptional abilities.

For whatever reason, you found yourself getting involved in a robbery. Although you manage to turn the tables and save a mother and her child, tragedy struck as you were shockingly hit by a food truck during Q&A with the reporters. An unfortunate fate that you couldn’t overcome as everything with pitch black. In those last moments, you wished for the emptiness in your dull, boring yet successful life to come to an end. And if you had the chance, to have another shot at obtaining what you truly desired most.

Luckily someone would answer that call as a blinding white light swept you from the darkness.

>Welcome to yet another Dragonball Quest.
>As it implies you’ll be starting off in the early Dragon Ball timeline. While I plan on going to the end of the original at least, I’m not shy of taking this up to super if the demand is still strong by then
>While the beginning will be close to the same, but further down the line, these changes in the canon will become more apparent. Although I have changed a few things regarding canon, including the fact this is taking inspiration from the Reincarnation Yamcha manga, most of those won’t become apparent or relevant for a long while.
>I will also be taking sources from other places besides the manga provided they’re reasonable like Dragon Ball Online. As well as occasional Dr. Slum references.
>Rolls will be done primarily using 1d100, Bo5 just to give enough wiggle room for mechanics. I want to keep things as straight-lined as possible.
>Write-ins are generally accepted if not encouraged provided they make sense.
>Remember to have fun and don’t be shy giving feedback.

Come on lets live a little. Add some spice and not be ordinary human 5786
>>
>>4169695
The only options are half-humans so it's not like it'll be any different than usual. Might as well go pure.
>>
>>4169703
>not wanting to be Half-God/Half Human
Don't you want to make Zamasu explode with rage?
>>
>>4169703
I was thinking we could be a half-tuffle because originally they got wiped because they were docile and were considered inferior to the saiyans. We could unlock super tuffle and get their revenge or some shit.
>>
>>4169724
>Super-tuffle
Tuffles by themselves are trash, they need megascience to be good.
>>
>>4169731
Which makes it all the more fun when we get stronk and beat those saiyans asses. We could be the smart chad tuffle.
>>
>>4169740
We could also be a Half-God who actually gets shit done.
I would much rather we embarrass that cuck Shin than try to fight the 4 remaining Saiyans. (Ok 5.) (6.) (7...)

Also as a Half Shinjin we might be able to learn Kai Kai.
>>
>>4169744
>Kai Kai.
Bruh that's just glorified instant transmission.
>>
>>4169751
It's literally superior instant transmission. It doesn't require the instant transmission pose nor does it require tracking onto an energy signal to be used.

Combine a technique like that with Ultra Instinct and you will truly be untouchable.

At least Chronoa and the Western Supreme Kai don't.
Nor do Mechikabura or Kibito for male examples.

You haven't unlocked the full Shinjin potency and characteristic. At best you subconsciously scraped the surface of your inference. But compared to regular people, there is a hint of a refinery in your ki and it is a tad stronger and more potent.

Anyway, going to be replying in a moment. But right now your power level is 10 and you're as strong as Goku at the start in terms of ki despite not knowing how to use it or martial arts.

Flashing lights followed by a serene-setting upon hearing birds chirping through the distance. Opening your eyes rather slowly, instinctively covering your face to act as a filter, you were met with a breathtaking experience. Currently surrounded in the endless depths of space, you specifically rest upon what appears to be a porcelain white stone bed or table, it was hard to tell. Around the bed were several pillars, all lined up in one big circle, giving you the impression this must be a greek theme temple grounds. It certainly fits the part in picturing a heavenly location for you.

You slowly rose up to sitting on the flat surface, looking around the scenery in awe and amazement. Here you are currently in the center of space. Surrounded with countless planets both big and small as the stars light up the dark violet skies. Being in such a place only further highlights one crucial fact to you. You were, in fact, dead, or at the very least in some sort of purgatory where your life is hanging on by a thread. Either way, this wasn’t the world you knew as you soak up this otherworldly experience.

Before you had time to really reflect upon your last moments or get bored with your scenery, another light starts to shine brightly down the scene. From within the blinding light came forth a silhouette of a very tall man. To you, this was nothing short of a divine being coming down to greet you, like your guardian angel. As they descend down more of their features become visible. Soon you look directly at the blue skin entity, noticing just how charming he appeared with his effeminate features, violet eyes and white-haired.

Dressed in what you can only assume was standard divine robes, the mysterious angelic figure descends just inches from your current spot. Looking down at you with a soft smile, the mysterious man drops down to his feet, holding on to his staff as it makes a loud clap. Being in front of the man personally put you to shame with his statuesque appearance. Easily towering over you like the ant you are, you kept yourself from losing face and remain cool.

“Hello, and welcome to this lovely abode. My apologies for whisking you away from your homeworld but it was imperative that I’d grab you while I’m still able to. Windows of opportunity like that don’t come every day.”

“Who are you? Where am I? What happened to me? And why did you pull me to this location? As for how I think I can figure it out for myself. “You ask, keeping your guard while remembering to be polite.

"All reasonable and logical questions. I’ll answer them in order. My name is Whis and I am a simple attendant to the God of Destruction. Where you are is an enclosed space made by the angels to pick up and talk with otherworlders like yourself. As for what happened to you...well, safe to say that you’re dead~” Whis smiled, putting it rather bluntly with an absentminded laugh. Leaving you to turn pale at the realization.

>How do you proceed?

>Freak out reasonably and expectedly while venting over your regrets
>Let yourself cry over your death and quietly listen to Whis’s explanation

Jaywalking! Procrastinating on a group project! Seeing someone stalled on the side of a road and driving past them because surely someone else will help them!

KILLING UNCOUNTABLE INSECTS EVERY SEASON BECAUSE YOU WANT A PEST FREE HOUSE! IN A KARMIC SYSTEM THAT WOULD RACK UP LOADS OF NEGATIVE KARMA!
>>
>>4170194
>That time we borrowed a friends game and then moved away without returning it!
>>
>>4170194

“Oh god….” You muttered, slowly clenching your head over the realization of your situation. Your life certainly did flash before your eyes, but it was going at lightspeed. Every single you ever did, no matter how small it was all coming back. And for the first time in your life, you were met with true, unrelenting fear.

Seeing you trembling, Whis tries to lighten the mood with a reassuring smile. But to you, it only appeared a sadistic grin as anxiety and paranoia took over your overactive imagination. “Now I know this must be quite alarming but I’d need you to stay reasonably calm and keep your wits about you. For you see whenever adversity comes there’s always an opportunity to change the course of events currently flowing. For better or worse. “
“I DON’T WANNA BE ERASED FROM EXISTENCE!” You scream, not registering Whis attempts at trying to temper your growing anxiety as it reaches its zenith. Immediately after you quickly drop to the ground and bow your head groveling.

“Pardon?” Whis blinks, sweating a bit from the sudden change in tone.

“That’s why you’re here aren’t you. I must have done something so bad that it warrants the attendant of the god of destruction to come here to tell me of my crimes before the executioner himself comes in to finish me.” “The time that I jaywalked, Procrastinating on a group project! Seeing someone stalled on the side of a road and driving past them because surely someone else will help them! All of it is a black mark on my name. And the instincts...dear god the insects!” You ramble. Your hold body was trembling remembering that insects are living creatures too and the amount you killed to have a pest-free home really stacked the negative karma. “All those insects I’d kill during pest season add up... They all add up!”
>>
>>4170273
>>4170202

“Now I told you to keep yourself calm. If you just give me a second to explain you’ll understand-” Before Whis could get another word in you quickly grab Whis by the waist, holding tightly like a scared child trying to appeal his mommy from punishing him.

“I didn’t even mean to take more than one serving during those free donuts samplings! I just wanted to give it to my younger sibling...but it was so good that I can’t help myself. I’m sooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!” You cried, breaking down into tears as you wail uncontrollably much to Whis dismay. “Let me redeem myself instead of getting obliterated from existence. I didn’t mean to borrowed a friend’s game and then moved away without returning it!”

“Yū Tatsumaki! Get a hold of yourself! You aren’t fated to be erased.”Whim sternly cries, snapping you out of your bawling crying. Instinctively you real back, kneeling your head down to the ground to the point the surface made a loud crack. ‘

Looking at his cloak Whis just makes a disgusted face before wiping it clean with a pair of tissues. “What I’m getting at, a young traveler is that even though you died in your world, there’s a chance to have a do-over in another world. Specifically, the ‘universe’ known as dragon ball. A mystical land filled with the romance of adventure, mystery, wacky hijinks that you’d honestly find in children’s tale. But I assure you that everything that happens is very much real, so don’t get conceited. And compared to your old life, perhaps you’ll find the one thing that you were secretly longing for right until the very end.” Whis says, resuming his smile mid-way after cleaning himself up.

“Oh is that so…” You sigh in relief, feeling rather glad that you weren’t going to get erased from existence. But as your anxiety disappears, curiosity soon filled its place, followed by skepticism. “Hold on. Aren’t you suppose to ask me if I want to go. I’m sorry if this sounds presumptuous for me to suggest but it sounds like you’re already making plans to send me to this new world.”
>>
>>4170276

“Well yes, this is normally the part where I’d ask you to choose whether or not you want to go. But Lord Beerus is getting rather, how should I put this, dainty at this time of hour so regrettably, this won’t be optional for you. However, to compensate this I’ll be giving you special gifts and support to help you out on your journey. Within reason of course. I am a neutral party so I must act impartially at all times. That said, beyond that, I’m free to act as I please. “ Whis explains, retaining a sophisticated tone as he openly admits your suspicions. But for some reason, you couldn’t be mad at him due to how polite and understanding he’s being. For an impartial attendant, he was pretty nice all things considering.

“In any case, choose one of the following below from the selective list and we can continue to the next part of the transition. ”

>How do you proceed

>Do as Whis ask and pick your goods and wait for his next order
>Ask Whis some questions before he sends you off [write-in]

>Ask Whis some questions before he sends you off
The standard suite of questions that anyone should ask in an isekai scenario:
What is regarded as common knowledge where we're going?
Will I be able to speak the same language as where I end up?
What pitfalls should I try to avoid?
What's the best way to rise to the top?
How many other people have been reincarnated into this world that are still around?
If he were the one choosing from the list, what option would he pick?
Will we be able to retain our five sights?
Is there anyone in particular we should try to find once we're reincarnated?
What are the laws that must not be broken as dictated by the gods, if any exist?
>>
>>4170277
>Do as Whis ask and pick your goods and wait for his next order
If Beerus is getting "dainty" we should probably just get going.
>>
>>4170282
It occurs to me that many of my questions are made from the assumption that our character would have no knowledge about Dragon Ball and the events that occur within it in the original publication.
I have no clue exactly how much meta-knowledge our character would/should have, if any.
>>
>>4170282
>>4170285

Going to support these. Best to get our facts straight before going in.

>>4170287
I would assume for story reasons either loosely or close to zero. And I wouldn't temp the hand of fate by overly metagaming anyway. We got enough on our plate as a half¬god.

There's a dragon ball but the knowledge about that has been purposely "Sealed" upon death. So vague clues at best are what you'll get with your Five sights.

On cue, there was a series of different pamphlets scattered around the floor upon materializing from the orb of Whis’s staff. Each one carrying a vivid description of the subject matter in a series of words accompanied by a picture. Strangely after picking up just one of the sheet, the inscriptive notes was completely readable to you. Despite being written in a divine, unknown language it was coming to as clear as your native tongue. If you didn’t know better you consider such a thing to be nothing short of fantasy. Before you got yourself enveloped in the romance of adventure a nagging thought begins to flood your mind.

“Wait, Mr. Whis.” You cried, pulling yourself from the stacks of notes.

“Yes?” Whis says, turning to look down at you.

“Before I pick out what I want from this list, I got some questions to ask.”

“Well given your predicament it’s only natural you would have a ton of questions. But do try to keep yourself from asking an infinite number of questions. Time is of the essence.” Whis smiles, pointing to the left which appears to be a massive gate. A swirling portal resembling that of a white hole with its circulating energy. You briefly thought of the Samsara upon looking closely at the gate.

“Right, don’t worry they won’t be that long.” You reassure Whis before sitting back down in a typical Japanese sitting posture. Taking just a deep breath, you clear your thoughts and throat for the impending word salad you were about to give. “Anyway, What is regarded as common, general knowledge within that world, the universe too if possible? Will I be able to speak the same language as the people where I’ll end up? What pitfalls should I try to avoid? What's the best way to rise to the top? How many other people have been reincarnated into this world that is still around? If he were the one choosing from the list, what option would he pick? Will we be able to retain our five sights? Is there anyone, in particular, we should try to find once we're reincarnated? And finally what are the laws that must not be broken as dictated by the gods, if any exist?” You ask vehemently, taking a moment to catch your breath after going as long as you did to say out that without breathing.

Blinking a bit from the series of questions, Whis took a moment to look at the sky above as he gathers his thoughts. “Well, that’s certainly quite a handful of questions. Most would just jump right in after getting the second chance at life or be far to enveloped on their gift to really focus on the task at hand.”

“Sorry for the long sea of questions. I figured if I am going into this new world, I might as well gain as much knowledge as feasibly possible. “ You shake your head in embarrassment.
>>
>>4171736

“No, no it’s a good trait to be asking questions. Especially when traveling into a brand new, unknown world. It shows you acknowledging your ignorance yet wanting to instead rectify that by knowing all that you can. Yū gonna go far in this world with such a mindset.” Whis smiles, turning back to you in a rather clever if not shrewd expression. “See what I did there.”

“Very funny Mr. Whis.” You smile, forcing yourself to put up with this as this wasn’t the first time you had to deal with people making puns out of your name.

“Starting from the top your mind during the jump will be given the general, common knowledge of the world that you’ll be living in. This includes the standard language, so you won’t have to worry about appearing like an outsider to the world around you. As for pitfalls, the general common sense from your world isn’t far off from ours. Doing bad things will naturally bring misfortune to yourself, especially since there’s an otherworld that governs where you go when you die in the dragon ball universe. But it’s also on a case by case basis as what constitutes as evil isn’t black or white, nor would being grey truly condemn you if your attentions are generally for the greater good. ” Whis explains.

“Okay, that’s a relief. I didn’t want to end up like one of those isekais where I don’t know a lick of the world I’m in and having to carefully be discreet about my true identity by avoiding being overly ignorant of the customs and traditions.” You sigh happily, feeling a metaphorical weight now off your shoulders.

“No need to worry, while your brain will ultimately increase in IQ to hold all the information needed for your new life, you won’t have to concern yourself with such cliche. “ Although hearing Whis said that made you suddenly picture yourself with a giant head, resulting in you looking down to the floor in aversion and gloom.

“Skipping for just a moment to tie in with the previous question, there aren’t many rules that you have to worry about that would involve the god’s wraith. Just don’t do anything that would jeopardize the stability of reality, like traveling through time for one. That’s a major crime that shouldn’t be violated. Minor acts such as manipulating time for a few minutes at best is barely allowed, but actually altering the timelines and the course of events in such a manner can lead to dire effects even for the tiniest of actions. Time is fragile and thus must flow in a singular direction. It goes back to maintaining cosmic stability as the general theme for our rules. That is why even most deities aren’t allowed to move unfettered through time.” As Whis explains, the tone in his voice changes to a more serious take to match his now stern expression.
>>
>>4171746

“So in short if you don’t do anything that outs the development of your respective universe at risks then you’ll be fine. But given your nature, I’d doubt I have to tell you to be on your best behavior. You’re already a pure-hearted soul, if not one who has a very….hyperactive imagination.” Whis empathizes upon returning to his usual aloof if not absent-mindedly peaceful tone.

“Yeah, that makes sense. I don’t particularly have any desire to travel back in time or do anything that would throw off the stability of the universe that I’ll be in.” You nod, keeping the thought of asking about multiple universes in the back of your head.

“Back on track, there are no shortcuts to becoming the strongest. There may be different means to obtain strength or improve your status but that alone won’t make you rise up to the top. The only real way for that to happen is through dedication and perseverance towards hard work. Do that and always taking the opportunity to learn new things while remembering to rest when you should and I’m sure you’ll reach your goal in no time.” Whis lectures while keeping up some reassuring hope and motivation for you despite making sure foremost to keep you from getting conceited.

“Can’t blame a guy for trying.” You shrugged, catching Whis in a slight chuckle with your goofy grin.

“As for other people have been reincarnated into this world that is still around? I’d say there’s about a handful at best currently but you would be the very first for this specific project. The true reason for this specific project will come in time, but for now, I’ll leave you with this information. You see my Lord is currently the strongest fighter in the universe. We’re basically immortal on a biological scale so we never age. As a result, Lord Beerus seeks entertainment in the form of a rival. A true genuine rival. Now he’s taking the idea of...hmm what was that word again...Super...Sandwich. No that’s not it. Super Saibaman. No…. “ Whis mutters, stroking his chin as he thinks hard about what he was told. Tappin his staff a moment his eyes begin to light up upon finding out the answer.

“Ah! Super Saiyan God. That’s the name. It’s a premonition that my lord has perceived long ago. To this day I haven’t exactly proven if such a being exists or not and with my job being as busy as it is my options are quite limited. In any case, Lord Beerus has seen the vision of this person, the one he calls his ultimate fighter. In comparison, there has been only one mortal at the time that was strong enough to be a true rival to my Lord. But that was oh so long ago. ”

“Well then, if that’s the case then I’ll just be this Super Saiyan God. I mean if it’s relating to why I’m being brought here then I should do everything I can to meet his expectations.”
>>
>>4171810

“Well, I appreciate your enthusiasm however I have to regrettably tell you that you can’t become a Saiyan, much less a Super Saiyan god. For reasons I can’t currently tell you in specifics, the Saiyans were essentially wiped out by the actions of a tyrannical ruler of the galaxy. Only a handful of them currently exists in our universe. And making you into a such a creature would throw off the balance too much for your reincarnation on to the planet earth.” Whis says, shooting you down while keeping a genuine smile at your attentiveness to duty.

“I understand. You’re already answering enough of my questions so it’ll be rude to ask about it or twist your arm to become this Saiyan. Still, I don’t know if I could even fit the bill for an ultimate rival. He’s a god and I’m just a regular mortal about to be reincarnated.” You awkwardly chuckle, scratching your head in response to being humbly nervous.

Closing his eyes and shaking his head, Whis goes over to pat you on the head. “Don’t worry, while you might not be capable of becoming a Super Saiyan God, the path to godhood is still present for you as a mortal. Again that’s something you shouldn’t be worrying about this for now. When the time comes to act upon that goal, I will personally come to get you myself. But hopefully, by then you’ll come to truly grow and mature by then.”

“Also, you don’t necessarily have to worry about who I’d pick for a first choice since you’re already hitting the marks with what I’m looking for”

“How so? Aside from my sight, I wasn’t really all that extraordinary to be picked from. I may have even started to rely too much on it. Since it was the only thing I had going for me…” You lament in melancholy fashion. Even while currently dead it didn’t stop you from thinking back to your previous life and how it alienated you from others.

“You’re someone who understands their strengths and weaknesses. Someone who can see what matters most in life and would strive to obtain it with all your heart. You have a pure, empathetic soul/heart and a clear mind, that’s already two of the three foundations to make for a great martial artist. So the only thing you need now is a sound body fit for this world. To which I’m sure you’ll achieve down your path.” Hearing Whis say those words started to deeply resonate with you from within. Your heart was starting to race as that empty feeling inside was beginning to disappear, and was replaced with newfound hope.
>>
>>4171823

“On to the rest of your questions. Since it’s tied to your state of mind, I don’t see any quorum against you having your special sight and general abilities in your past life being transferred as well.” As Whis says this you feel a light tap on your forehead before feeling strange energy flowing into you. Quickly coursing through your body, your vision starts to flash as it returns to its heightened state. Once that was out the way Whis soon took his hand off you and returned to keeping a reasonable distance. “As for whom you should try to find when you’re reincarnated. I’d say there’s the guardian of the earth but for you to achieve that, you should develop your skills and find a master to teach you for the journey. “

“And with that covers all your questions.”

“Thank you for answering all of them. I really appreciate it. During that time I picked out exactly what I wanted to be.” You bow in gratitude before getting off from the ground.

“Very good. Let me look at it just to be sure.” As Whis requested you quickly hand him the sheets of paper. Letting him stare at it closely and reframing from distracting him further.

“Hmm, there’s something off here.” Whis points out, putting his index finger on the sheet as another golden light. The light briefly blinded you as those sheets of paper turn golden, radiating a strong glow as it pulsates with energy. “There we go, everything is in order. Ōkazu Ryōma, that’s going to be your new name in the next world. Though using your original name Yū Tatsumaki as an alias is also acceptable. Though between you to me I’d stick to just Yū for a nickname since it’s close to your new name. “

“Hold on a second. Okazu….Isn’t that the name of a side-dish?” You ask, finally opening your eyes to look at the golden sheets, telling you what you’re going to be, including your family.

“Well yes, I believe it is but it also has other meanings tackle on it. For instance, if you separate the Zu, you get Ōka which can both mean the plant Cherry Blossom and a ruling flame for the furnace. As well as cherries in general, a rather sweet fruit if you ask me.” Whis playfully chimes in, handing you the paper to better read for yourself.

“...I take it something like this is the norm for this universe isn’t it.”

“Very much so, now come along, we must depart and send your soul to the destination spot for reincarnation.”

For the record, since your mother is a valued business partner and one of the top 5 scientists in the world alongside Dr. Brief and Gero, it goes without saying Bulma and you know each other since childhood.

I'll let you decide how you want the next 16 years of your life to go through. Less you really want to go through starting at kindergarten.

The shapeshifting academy is a given, considering our natural talents. I think that should be tempered with a highly scientific education, likely private education (possibly even homeschooled if such a thing can be permitted) with less of a focus on things like 'history' or 'politics' and more of a focus on biology, physics, etcetera. The hard sciences that will actually matter.
The combination of shapeshifting ability and scientific knowledge is, theoretically, quite powerful. So that's ultimately what I want to focus on in the developmental years of our life.
Refining the body can always begin later, and it's not nearly as important to have a strong body as a kid - your gains won't really be all that great until adulthood anyways. Developing the mind and skills are what children excel at.

tl;dr shapeshifting then science focus

Without any complains you follow Whis towards the portal, taking the papers with you as they begin to dissolve. Not even before you could question this the golden paper seeps itself directly into your body through the skin. That familiar golden glow resonates throughout your body once again. However, it went faintly into inactivity just as quickly as it appeared. Even so, you could still feel it coursing through your body despite currently being in a dormant state. It has effectively become apart of you, merging with your soul as your spiritual body currently protects your soul core.

In no time flat, you arrived just inches from the gigantic spiraling gate of cosmic energy. Looking at it from your previous spot already left you in awe over how mystically enchanting this constant swirl of clusters truly was. But upon reaching it face to face practically left you speechless at this breathtaking spectacle. It was almost scary being up to it so close but at the same time, you feel your excitement bubbling vigorously inside. Slowly you began understanding what it truly meant to experience the romance of adventure. And you couldn’t be happier as you subconsciously make a huge grin.

“Alright just step through this portal and your soul will be sent to earth into your mother to be and thus your reincarnation will be complete. Of course for your convenience, your soul won’t fully awaken until you’re five years old. In addition to needing your body to acclimate to your soul, it’s also to save you the time having to re-live infancy while being fully conscious through. That would just be cruel and unusual punishment.” Whim turns to look at you with a grimace expression, to which you equally shared as you end up crying tears over the possibility of having to endure such a fate.

Wiping the tears from your face, you turn your face to look at Whis one more time. r“Thank you for that. And also for all of this. Originally I was content with dying and accepting fate despite having clear regrets. But here you are giving me another chance to live and find meaning in my life that I couldn’t see alongside the one thing I truly wanted. There’s honestly no way I can truly ever repay you or show how much I deeply appreciate this second chance. “

“Just do your best and live your life with no regret. That’s a fine way to truly show gratitude and repay me. Though you more than earn this shot at another life.” Whis smiles.

Returning his smile with your own, you close your eyes and take a deep breath before turning to the gate.“Okay. I’m ready.”
>>
>>4172554

Without any further doubts or hesitation, you walked into the gate one foot at a time. Upon entering your body started to break down into a bunch of spirit particles. Each one of your atoms follows the white flow of the everlasting surge of cosmic energy at blinding speed. After that everything begins to go dark for you as you meld with the flow. Yet despite this, you didn’t feel any fear over the transition. Whatever waiting for you on the other side of the stream you were going to face it with a smile on your face. With that in mind, your particles eventually intervened at your destination. While simultaneously your mind continues to sleep until the faithful day on your fifth birthday.

What came next was certainly quite a shocking ordeal for you. Originally born as a male you find yourself currently an androgynous child of otherwordly beauty. While appearing human it was clear that you were basically genderless from top to bottom. Upon thinking about it for a bit it wasn’t all that surprising considering the golden sheet you received was a Shinjin otherwise called a Core Person. Humanoid beings that were born from a special fruit that grows from the gigantic world tree called Kaiju. They hold special abilities that far surpass that of normal beings and capable of living over tens of thousands of years.

In your head, you instinctively thought of elves with their androgynous features and pointy ears. Like elves, they were highly talented with the magical arts given their magic-like abilities and otherwordly capabilities. You, in particular, was quite a different sort of Shinjin. Perhaps due to your hybrid nature of human and Shinjin that your powers manifest as something abnormal even for Shinjin standards. During your fifth birthday with the briefs, you accidentally turned their youngest daughter Bulma into her namesake. And to think this only happened due to the mischievous troublemaker spooking you by booby-trapping your present.

Safe to say you ultimately fixed your mistake and harder yet managed to get your childhood friend to forgive you. Nevertheless, this was a clear sign that you were special as your powers continuously fluctuate and went haywire. Your mother, Hanī Ryōma, Head Researcher and longtime assistant to Dr. Briefs certainly had her hands full handling you. Known for fortitude and sharp-wit managed to pass out upon the discovery. When she came too it was unanimously decided that in order to get a better handle on your supernatural abilities that you were to intend Shapeshifting Academy.
>>
>>4172556

Your time at the academy oddly enough went as well as your school life back in your original home. Like before you didn’t particularly have any trouble learning from your instructors and following the lesson plan step by step. Unlike in your past like however you actually managed to make a lasting impression on your classmates. For better or worse your immature powers went off at the most random of times. According to your teachers, it was deeply tied to your mental state. Your emotions, in particular, that was causing them to fluctuate wildly based on the intensity. In light of this, it ended up only making the kids attracted to you in a positive manner. Soon you found yourself being the center of attention, which was a conflicting chain of events.

With time you slowly learned how to temper your powers and keep them under control alongside your emotions. Even without being a Shinjin, you were remarkably adept at using magic as evident by your unusual innate abilities. In any case, you stick to learning everything you can about the transformation arts and by proxy transmutation. Despite being a beginner you manage showing advance skills in transformation, including the ability to transmute matter. It was almost second nature to you but considering your natural aptitude towards body-altering abilities it wasn’t farfetched. By the time you turned six you already learned everything you can from the academy as you graduated at the top of your class.

Returning home to your doting mother you spent the next ten years undergoing homeschooling by your mother and her supercomputer nanny "Personal Applied Technology or Pat for short. Like your mother and childhood friend, you carry the makings of a scholar with your sharp-with. Although you weren’t quite the prodigy like Bulma it did not take away your own level of brilliance. The skills you forged through years of studying and cramming in old life made your school life child’s play. Just as Whis said your general intelligence ended up becoming far higher than it was already in your previous life. Added with your family genes and you got the makings of a boy genius.

Whenever you weren’t studying you spent your time further honing your transformation and transfiguration arts. Even as we speak you barely felt like you scrape past the surface layer to your boundless potential. And although you told yourself that your powers would naturally mature as you got older, it wasn’t an excuse to slack up on practicing. Physical conditioning and bodybuilding weren’t anywhere near are important compared to mental development and refining your assortment of skills. That said, you did keep yourself active getting involved in whatever scheme that Bulma dragged you long during her free time.
>>
>>4172560

As for what you focused on primarily in your school life was hard science such as biology, physics, chemistry, etcetera. Considering your unique abilities and natural affinity it was only natural you tailored yourself on bettering your knowledge in areas that would drastically help you in the long run. With stuff like history and politics you only did the bare minimum and nothing more. Before you knew it, you began rivaling the natural genius Bulma in countless fields of science and technology through diligent hard work and perseverance. Taking Whis words to heart kept you on the right path as you didn’t stray looking for shortcuts.

In the present time, recently reaching the age of sixteen you currently stood outside in your red and black academic dress. In these robes, you look more like a sage than the reclusive plain nerd you found yourself labeled as. Not that you let it get to you as you were more than mere appearances. More importantly, this was a special day for you as the time has finally arrived. Today was your graduation from West University. It was just only five years ago that you graduated from Senior High School as one of the two co-youngest graduates in history. And just like then today you stood as one of the youngest graduates in this prestigious academy’s long history.

Getting through the embarrassing photoshoots by your enthusiastic mother was the highlight of your day. That and the graduation itself as you of all people ended up having to give the closing speech to the audience. It went rather well all things considering. Even if a certain blue-haired lass poked fun at you trying to look cool. In any case, with your degrees in hand, the world was left for you to explore. Now if only you knew what you wanted to do.

Well...Shinjin are fruit and reproduce by their trees, right? So a half shinjin wouldn’t occur naturally, it would need to pop up through mystical or scientific bullshit.
considering those complications we could always just have been found and raised by her. Probably the easiest way for Whis to handle it - he makes the baby’s body, shoves the soul inside, leaves it somewhere that he knows it’s gonna be adopted. The alternative requires some contrived history to be made involving a shinjin and a human...

Born and raised in West City, a wealthy metropolis booming with activity. Aside from your powers activating at the most arbitrary of times, your life was pretty standard if not boring. The only time you ever got to taste a hint of excitement was when Bulma dragged you along one of her schemes. That was the price to pay for committing yourself diligently to your studies. Not like you could tell anyone the real reason why you were putting your all into being Mr. Smarty Pants. But now with yourself a full-fledged scientist and scholar there was no excuse. No way you enduring ten years of monotony was going to end up cooping yourself back into the lab. Not that a boring, simple life was all that bad, even so, you didn’t want another repeat of your old life.

Letting out a small yawn you lazily took off your academic cap, revealing slicked back, spiky cyan hair, a single forelock danging defiantly on your forehead. The earliest memory you can recall as Ozaku shows that you originally had reddish-brown hair, similar to your mother’s auburn hair but when your powers first manifest it changed your hair’s hue completely. The only sign that you were your mother’s son was the blue eyes and taste in jewelry. Flamboyance seems to run strongly in the family. Speaking of family, you ultimately decide to head out to look for your mother. According to her, she needed to go grab something from the dean of the university. Hence why you previously decided to wait outside the university main hall.

“If I didn’t know better I’d swear that time went far faster than it has any right to be.” You mutter, letting out another yawn before putting your hands into your pockets.

Looking over to the left you see your mother Hanī coming out from the dean’s office as she waves goodbye to him. From what you can tell she was holding a rather large spherical object, you figure it was some sort of secret engineering project. Biology and Robotics was your mother’s top profession among the many different sciences and engineering skills she accumulated in her life. When it came to biology however she was the top scientist without equal as she mastered every branch and sub-series there is. If it relates to biology in some way she was your scientist to call for. In just her early childhood she invented the famous drug called Animorphaline just out of a whim.

Unfortunately due to your mother’s frequent compulsive instincts influencing her innate aptitude towards science, her miracle drug came with the irreversible side-effect of permanently turning people into beastmen. Impulsiveness combined with absent-mindedness made for a bad combination as when Hani gets an idea she goes through with it without hesitation. Not letting anything or anyone gets in her way to the point of drowning out everything but her goals. She was the textbook definition of a mad scientist but it didn’t make her any less hypercompetent as a world-class super genius.

“Yoohoo, Okazu~” The female researcher waves, walking over with a spring on her step. Your mother waves at you with an airheaded smile much to your embarrassment. “Hi, sweetie~ I’m sorry that took longer than intended. I was getting another commission finished up and my reward for taking the job on such a quick notice.” Hani smiles while softly addressing you.

“Mom, you’re like one of the top five richest people in the world. Do you really need any more funding for your research?” You exclaim, keeping your hands in your pockets while glancing at the chipper woman. Despite clearly being in her early forties she was still in the prime, ripe age of twenty-eight. A side-effect due to her long years of splicing and altering her body in her experiments. Specifically, her tampering with the Majin living in the teapot she found during one of her worldly trips long ago.

“Oh no, no this time it’s not for my fundings or my hunger cravings. It’s securing my precious son his very own personal labatory~ Think of it as your mom giving you a graduation present for graduating first in your class. As a new big shot, you’ll be getting a lot of requests from people throughout the world. So for you best interest, it’s only natural you have your own foundation to work off.”

“Although if you still want to work under your talented and beautiful mommy then that’s fine too~” Hani winks before going into a hug, once again making you wonder who exactly was the child here with how spunky and rambunctious she was despite her age. It didn’t help that her choice of attire was far too casual than what you originally told your mother to go out as. But considering that her original choice was dressing like she was going to the world king’s ball, you didn’t have many options.

“Mom, you’re embarrassing me. And it’s not really a victory when my competition skipped out during the final quarter.” You sigh, awkwardly pulling away from your mother’s carefree display of affection.

Shifting your eyes back to your doting, helicopter parent you gave a soft, narrowing glance. “Hey, mom...I can use some serious advice.”
>>
>>4173582

Shifting your eyes back to your doting, helicopter parent you gave a soft, narrowing glance. “Hey, mom...I can use some serious advice.”

Hani could only gasp in light of hearing you asking for help, practically glowing like the sun. Her face blushing as tears were struggling to come out. Once again you feel your mother was overreacting but given how you usually try not to worry her by handling things on your own it was only natural that she ended up this way. Especially as a single parent.

“Please temper yourself before you make my final day a bigger embarrassment than it already is. “You mutter, cutting off Hani out of guessing the longwinded reply she was fuming in her nogging. “Anyway, now that I’m a freelance scholar, I’m rather stumped on what I want to do. I spent the past ten years keeping myself under control and committing to my studies when I can. Now that I reached the summit and achieved my goals, it feels like I don’t have any compass to lead me to my next objective. You must have gone through something like this yourself when you were young right?”

Placing her hand on her chin, Hani tilts her head to the side and thinks deeply for a bit. “Well, you’re not wrong. I remember when I was thirteen that I graduated from college and being left to my own devices. There were so many ideas running through my mind but due to my…. A rather controversial incident it was hard getting off the ground on my own. I ended up bouncing between different factions and private businesses, working on their ideas in between my own and building credit until I could be self-reliant and independent. “
>>
>>4173609

“...I can’t help but find myself stumped on which is worse. Leaving a wild card like you to act as you please or just how many people you bounced on to fuel your insatiable gluttony. “ You mutter, picturing what sort of havoc this maverick ended up causing with her eccentrics.

“Aww sweetie, that’s nothing you need to worry about it~ Besides, your mommy is a walking black hole when it comes to her ravenous hunger.” Hani closes her eyes, smiling brightly while causally being morbid about her side effect. Even before her experiment, she was one with a healthy appetite especially towards sweet. You figure with her abnormal sweet intake that her mind was constantly supercharged and operating at levels mere mortals could only dream was possible. “Anyway, I think before you commit yourself to what you want to do with your newfound freedom is to explore the world. Take a trip, see the scenery, explore new possibilities, take in all that you can about the world before deciding how you want to truly be apart of it. After all, you’re a big fish in a small pond, it’s about time you realize just how vast the world really is.”

“You know you’re right. I should just go with the flow and take a big road trip. Thanks, mom, you always know what to say.” You smile.

“Anytime sweetie. I’d be a terrible mother and scientist if I didn’t know how to solve my precious son’s worries.” Hani smiles back, taking one more picture of your earnest, sweet smile much to your annoyance. “Speaking of precious, why not bring along your childhood friend along with you. I hear she’s been busy herself preparing for a world trip according to Dr. Briefs. Something about Dragon balls or something.”

First Dr. Slum callback, the Teapot Genie (Chabin Majin). While the full extent of this divergence for Hani's backstory compare to her FighterZ as this is more based on the Kakarot incarnation with some elements of the original still being present won't come up till much later, I believe this is a good pay off for foreshadowing a certain pink Kirby-ish character while keeping to the humor of early dragon ball.

We will miss out on major gains if we don't go with bulma why would we ever go alone.
>>
>>4173996
Because there's gains to be gotten elsewhere, anon. Gains are not finite, especially in a world as big as Earth. It's populated with mysteries and masters alike, you just have to find them.

Besides...there's no reason we couldn't get to something 'out of order' by going it alone. Do something before the others do it.
>>
>>4173996
>why would we ever go alone.
Because some of us value novel experiences and a good story over “gains”.
>>
>>4174003
Lol like who, master chin? Goku gets handed the best teachers on earth by pure luck and you want to find them by looking for them? Master roshi's island is in the middle of fucking nowhere and so is korin's tower and want to stumble on to that shit? Let's just stick to the script for now.
>>
>>4174045
More masters exist than what you see.
Has it ever occurred to you that there may be masters who completely don't care about the world martial arts tournament, yet are still impressive in their own right by db standards?
Sure, they're definitely not Z tier. But around this time literally nobody on earth was. I'm willing to bet there's a few others who are close to, if not on par with Roshi.

Also there's a bunch of supernaturals out there who we in particular would do well to learn from. Goku don't know shit about magic, but we do.

Well, it looks like another divergence is happening. Two for two. I can dig it.
>>
>>4174051
I'm hearing what you're saying man, but I'm still wondering WHO. All I'm saying is, roshi is the best of the best in db, he stands on top of the current martial arts world, rivaled by few, and you want to find somebody else? By all means, point me in the direction of them.
>>
>>4174057
...fuck, you got me there.
>>
>>4174063
The answer is simple: Someone that toriyama hasn't shown. An 'original character', if you would.
Like I said, the show doesn't cover everything that exists on earth. Roshi is the top martial artist in the world...that's famous. Who has appeared in the spotlight before. It's entirely feasible for there to be similarly skilled martial artists who exist in obscurity, completely uncaring of the public eye. Perhaps even scorning it, because it's admittedly a vain thing to showcase your skills in front of the entire world.
>>
>>4174053
You’re making so many assumptions with this “argument” here that I don’t even know where to start picking it apart.
>>
>>4174079
>because it's admittedly a vain thing to showcase your skills in front of the entire world
Why do you think he lives on an island
I guess you're right but, the gaaaaaains man the gains, what if we miss out, what if there is no secret master hiding somewhere in the world. If we steal one of the wishes from the pig we come get so much stronger but we can't if don't know what even a dragon ball is, and bulma's the one with the radar.
>>
>>4174098
Just exaggerating to get a point across, of course we won't end up losing out on so many gains we get hurt by fucking bullets that shit's little league. No need to take it so literally.
>>
>>4174109
What if we miss out on being second fiddle to goku, you mean?
I'd like to be the one in the limelight, not having our asses saved by goku's retarded genius.

Besides, even WITHOUT masters, Roshi proves that there's plenty of things you can get to become mighty in your own right. Dude had an immortality-granting phoenix at one point. He's seen tons of magical artifacts. Knows how to turn herbs into life-extending bullshit. Etcetera.
How do you think he learned about and acquired all these things? Through jihad adventure. Adventure itself is a great way to improve even if we don't find someone to teach us.
>>
>>4174109
Do you not want to go and become Tien's rival while training under Tao and Shen? Do you not want to practice telekinesis with Chiaotzu? Maybe even go out and get Yamcha to join up as well to have all the designated jobbers rise up to their full potential?

What does it matter how strong you are when you have to hang out with noseless wonder and turbo-downs-monkey? Anon it isn't worth it. Also Roshi might hit on us before he realizes we're a real-ish boy. I ain't up for that life.
>>
>>4174126

Training and traveling with Tien and Chiaotzu does sound cool...we could learn how to fly early on and learn tri beam too..

I just want everyone to know even though you're diverging from the typical path you won't be at risk of being any less important to Goku and co nor won't be able to learn stuff like Ki and other arts. So you need to feel like this choice will bone you over. Also, you'll meet with Dragon Ball Gang/Z-Fighters sooner or later.

Another note, I'm going to be introducing a character so obscure that there are no drawings of her. Thus I need to improve for her appearance since her look is basically proto-Bulma with green hair. I got some choices to go with.

Her name is Akai Tomato.

It's fine, but I was going to say it strongly resembles launch or launch-lite which while it looks nice wouldn't exactly help differentiate Akai like I want to do.

Dragon Balls, now that was something that could be worth discussing. That is if your mind didn’t immediately think of the more literal example and effectively gross you out on the idea. You knew Bulma to be a person who doesn’t operate on the unconventional, especially when it comes to things she desires like a pampered princess. But even you thought the idea of neutering an animal’s sexual organs, specifically the balls of a dragon was something only a nutter would think of doing. Either way, this was not conclusive to fulfilling that craving for adventure that you oh so strongly feel towards satiating.

“Actually mom, I’m going to have to take a rain check on that. I think it’s for the best if I go on this journey on my own. I don’t know where I’ll be going but I can tell you that compare to me Bulma wouldn’t be caught dead taking what could be called a hermit’s pilgrimage. “ “Besides, she’s busy doing….whatever she plans on doing. It’ll be rude of me to tell her to drop that to come along for a road trip.”

“Ara, Ara. How thought for you to be considerate of your childhood companion’s needs above your own. I really have raised such a good son. “ Hani smiles widely, going for another hug as you squint your eyes at her rubbing her cheeks against yours.

“Cut it out mom you’re embarrassing me” You exclaim, trying to push her away but to no avail.

“Nope~”

“Aarrgghh!”

And just like that, another family moment took place. Finding yourself once again in the arms of your doting mother you eventually manage to get her the slip as you return to freedom. Thanks to several of your collage colleagues you were given the excuse needed to go out into the city and have some fun celebrating your graduation. You loved your mother but you couldn’t deny how much she smothers you with her tentative motherly love. Though it wasn’t unpleasant as to you this was your home and just like your mother back in your original reality Hani got the same amount of attentive care and respect you gave your original mother.

In any case, you spent the remainder of your day and most of the night celebrating with your colleagues. Although you were sixteen years old, it didn’t stop the guys from insulating their kind of fun as young adults. To which you merely went with the flow outside of partaking in alcoholic beverages. In addition to being more or less a dork, you were quite straight-laced. While not a meek pacifist you generally abided the law and regulations when they were fair and/or just. Basically, you were a strong advocate of things like common sense and the golden rule. After all, you still carry your memories of the afterlife, and you sure as hell wasn’t going to get yourself in trouble and damned yourself if you can avoid it.

A week later, you find yourself currently standing outside the hall preparing yourself for your trip to parts unknown. Normally you would have gone off just as soon as the next day. However, you really wanted to take things slow and really celebrate your ascent into the scientific world as a full-fledge scholar and scientist. In the world, you currently call your new home technology has advanced to the point that you could store practically anything into tiny capsules for easy carrying. Having the finest capsules one can obtain due to being within the capsule corporation’s inner circle, you were more or less prepared for everything. Even so, you still ended up conversing with your mother over being prepared. Bless her heart.

“Now are you positive that you checked all your capsules to make sure they are all there and working at the top, physical condition,” Hani asks, staying in the hallway in nothing but her nightgown and underwear. It was still in the tail end of spring after all.

“Mom, I can literally turn things into editable foods or materials I need to survive. I’d think I would be okay even if I am missing a few things. But yes I double checked, triple even.” You reply, reminding your mon of your extraordinary transformation and organization skills. As well as your attentive nature.

“That’s my boy. I raised you well to remember the double-tap philosophy. “ Hani grins smugly, folding her arms and nodding in approval. Once again her context could be taken as morbid in any other scenario given that’s the same attitude as a hitman.

“I don’t think what was meant to be a shooting technique should be applied to everything mon.” You reprimand your mother casually, getting your shoes on your feet before rising upwards towards the door.

“Remember to call me whenever you get the chance. You know how I’d worry. Especially given your track record with your powers. “

“I’ll make sure to call frequently if you make sure that you didn’t put nanobots in my bloodstream to keep track of me...again.”

“Oh, just one more thing. “ Hani calls out, stopping you from stepping out the door.

Keeping yourself from letting out a sigh you turn to face your mom one more time. “Yeah?”

“I love you.” Upon saying that and giving you the warmest smile did it hit you that for the first time in a very long time you’ll be leaving your single-mother home by herself. Yet here she was waving you goodbye with no indication of being passive-aggressive or giving you a guilt trip.

Meeting the genuine, heartwarming smile with one of your own you look back to your mother. “Love you too mom. Take care of the lab while I’m gone.” You say, giving your mom one final hug as she ends up breaking down into a sobbing fit. So much for leaving home in style.

After pulling off your mother from you and helping her clean up you finally left the nest you called home for the past sixteen years. Part of you felt a bit bad after making your mother cry like that after she tried so hard to be strong. The best you can do for her is to continue your path after making sure she was okay. There was no time to let yourself get sentimental as the adventure was calling your name Sure you might not know where you’re heading on this journey but that just makes it all the more exciting for you.

As you walk down the street and into a secluded path you quickly turn around to do a double-check. Fortune was on your side as there wasn’t anyone within eye’s view. Like you told your mother with your transformation skills you didn’t really need capsules to survive on. They were mainly there as insurance if nothing else. Right now feeling on top of your game you quickly invoke your shapeshifting technique. In a flash, your body was enveloped in a colorful smoke for dramatic flare. Unnecessary but not unwanted.

Emerging from the smoke you transformed yourself into a lunar white eastern dragon. Using your incredible knowledge of physics you were able to perfectly design the dragon to make it as aerodynamic as possible. A remarkable feat considering your transformation was in perfect condition and you picked the best animal known to fly in the sky freely. Although a little conspicuous it wouldn’t be a problem for you to transcend the skies without alerting anyone. Thus you ascending into the blue sky, carefully hiding in a cloud for additional obscurity.

At least that was supposed to be the plan as you feel something brushing against your tail before take off. It wasn’t enough to weigh you down as you ultimately made your way safely through the skies. It was just a weird feeling that briefly made your notice.

Brushing off that sensation as nothing important you continue traveling high in the sky. Like a majestic beast of folklore, your body moves fluidly through the currents without resistance. In fact, it was more accurate to say that you were dancing or swimming given your aerodynamic body. It was fortunate that you were in a constant supply of clouds to hide under as you continue transversing the sky. Although such creatures were not impossible as evident given that this world has giant dinosaurs and other animals that are instinct in your original universe, it didn’t change the fact that seeing a dragon in broad daylight would cause for alarm. In your youth, you were noticeably more careless in what you transformed into or how you used it. The power was still new to you and though you were originally a young adult prior reincarnation, it didn’t mean you were free of not acting your age.

But that was then and this was now and in your eyes, you pulled off a perfect transformation of exceptional quality without any hitches. Clearly, that was a sign of smooth sailing as you travel in the top cruising speeds...for a state of the art flying jet anyway. Nevertheless, you kept a keen eye out to your surroundings, making sure to avoid any obstacles like a flying bird or airplane. At your current speed, you easily traverse the entirety of West City from your home as you make your way through the outskirts and soon out of the city’s gates. The feeling of flying high in the sky was breathtaking to you. As if you were in a brand new world that most couldn’t get into without the use of machinery. Flying on something like a hoverbike was one thing, but it was whole another spectrum doing it the natural way. Something like this was enough to move your dull, if not the boring heart as it throbs with excitement.

In your enjoyment you find yourself flying through new territory. Eyes locked around looking at the scenery now having gotten away from the big city. Passing through Gingertown and through the suburb’s exit did you find yourself finally entering the wilderness. The comfy and wholesomely simple suburb was nice to look at compared to the ever-busy metropolis but even that pales in comparison to the tranquility of the outdoors. Feeling yourself one with nature, you finally step out of your cloud veil and took to flying free as the birds around you. Traveling at this speed was enough to cover massive portions of lands in record time. By the time you finally came to a stop you’d ended up flying for roughly the majority of the day with no signs of weary. Still, you decide to descend down to the nearest meadow as you were now in the forest.
>>
>>4178663
>>4174260

Upon landing gracefully onto the ground you slowly prepare to undo your transformation. When suddenly you were met with a strange sight. Due to being so engrossed in your flight that, without even looking behind, you ended up bumping directly into another person prior to takeoff. Well, to be more accurate it seems like she quickly grabbed hold you during mid-fall as evident by her tight, vice grip. Holding on for dear life the mysterious blackish green-haired woman continues her stubborn refusal to let gravity defeat her and send her to a gruesome fate. Course with her ditzy, blank stare it was hard to imagine such a stoned face woman emitting any expression of terror.

“..Hold it...you’re under…..rest…” The girl spoke, rather slowly as she gives off an airhead vibe. Looking at her attire she was wearing a blazer jacket underneath a blouse with a necktie, a combat skirt with spats shorts underneath, long socks and multi-functional sneakers. Her hair resting to her shoulders with her noticeable tomato earrings dangling in plain view. On her side was a gym bag holding her valuables including her tomato brand hat. Most noticeably at the chest area, you saw a golden badge buckle with the police symbol embedded. “..The name’s….Akai….Toma...ta..” She drifts briefly before passing out.

“Well, ain’t this is a fine mess…”You mutter in between watching the persistent officer currently passed out on your tail, still holding on tightly. If nothing else you were impressed by her devotion and stubborn diligence to her duty.

Be that as it may, you couldn’t exactly just dump her on the ground and take off. Who knows what could happen to an unconscious girl with a curvy, supple body in the middle of nowhere. For all, you know a dinosaur or a saber-tooth could appear and make a snack out of her. Now that wasn’t a sight you want to have hanging over you. Looking back at the sky it was close to even as the sun was going to set. A dragon has phenomenal senses so flying in the dark until you find a secure place to drop her off wasn’t particularly a problem. It’s actually finding someone willing to take her off your hands that was the main concern.

Not wanting to deal with having to explain yourself to strangers, you decided to make camp and let her sleep in till dawn. Who knows, you may even be lucky and be able to sneak her to somewhere safe once morning arises without her being the wiser. Gently setting your fail to the ground you silently undo your transformation, returning to your normal form. Standing at a height one hundred and seventy centimeters you were moderately tall for your age. Brushing your blue bang from your eye you walk towards a good spot for a camp. To your luck, you found a good spot with a strong foundation in the meadows. With a simple toss from your capsule appears a large house fit for an expansive family.
>>
>>4179574

After setting up camp you walk right inside, carrying the sleeping officer like a princess, closing the door on behind you once inside. Navigating through the house didn’t take long for you to find a suitable bedroom to lay her in. Sitting Akai on the bed you start to go through her things looking for any weapons. Now you were always a sturdy individual even in childhood as due to your powers you often were a jinx in every sense of the word. Even managing to somehow tank bullets as they just bounce off of you like most objects. Even so, you didn’t want Akai to get hurt by the ricochet when shooting at your bouncy ballistic body.
In your search, you found a custom revolver with a built-in setting for different ammo including laser bullets. Talk about being well prepared for any encounter. With your smarts, it was child’s play for you to disarm the gun. You may be bulletproof but you didn’t want to find out if you were laser proof too. Aside from that nothing really out of the ordinary stood out from you. Well, except her earrings anyway as you thought you heard a beep. Kneeling over as you mount a better spot, your eyes start to dart at the tomato earing. At your range, you saw something unusual about them as the beeping sound got louder. Before you got the chance to examine them further, Akai’s eyes start to flutter open.

“...This isn’t what it looks like.” You mutter, knowing that where you are was quite the compromising position.

“..You have nice eyes,” Akai remarks lazily as her mind was still in a hazy.

>What do you do?

>Let her fall back to sleep and get some food as you think about your next course of action

For a moment your mind went blank at Akai’s response. Not out of disappointment at her not doing the trope of smacking you and calling you a pervert mind you. Rather it was sheer confusion at the sudden compliment. Staring at her blanky you caught glimpse of her going back to sleep, alerting you that she was still out of it. Thinking of the only reasonable thing to do you suddenly pick Akai up, princess carrying her again. This time towards the nearest window that you can find. Using one hand to unhook the window lock, you follow up by opening it for a person to fit through.

“Off you go.” You say, tossing Akai nonchalantly through the window in an unamused manner.

“Oofph!” Akai exclaims, hitting her rump against the hard surface as it was enough to wake her out of her drowsiness. “Hey….what was that for…”

“That’s what I want to know. Start explaining why you decided to hitch a ride on a white dragon to who knows where.” You demand, keeping yourself in the comfort of your home while having the door locked. You didn’t exactly give out your identity as the dragon but that didn’t stop you from wanting to get some answers.

Blinking a bit while still having a dim expression, Akai places her finger against her red lips. “Hmm, white dragon….white dragon, let me see.” She pauses, thinking closely as she tries recalling the events that lead to the meeting.. “I think it was mostly happenstance that I ran into it. See I was on a case as a private detective, well inspector to be more specific for my rank. My name is Akai Tomata by the way. Nice to meet you.” Akai smiles.

“Okazu Ryoma, nice to meet you too.”You politely reply back. A short-lived gesture as you soon snaps out of your sudden instinctive need for proper etiquette. “Wait a minute, get back to the story that leads you into hitchhiking!”

“Right, right...now, where was I. As I was saying, to make a long story short I was involved in a special case. My goal was to catch some shady henchmen after busting them from their robbery of a mysterious orange star ball I ran into some trouble upon them busting out their battle jacket, a variation of power suits or mechs as some would call them, but I think those two, in particular, named it Pilaf Machine or something.” Akai mentions, showing signs that even she wasn’t fully sure about the name. But you knew the machine first hand as it was a powerful mech used to handle dangerous expeditions and animal control. At worst it was standard militant weaponry.

“Those guys must be more than petty criminals if they were able to bust out something of that level.”
>>
>>4179734

“Well, you be surprised at how easy it is for criminals to get such dangerous weapons.” Akai laughs, setting your mood to that of concern at how she could say something so nonchalantly. “Anyway as I was running with the item at hand after snatching it from them during a convenient distraction, I found myself cornered from within the building. With little options left, I just decided to jump out of the third stories.”

“So wait, you were sent out there to bust them for stealing a valuable object, got yourself cornered when they bust out the power mechs and your first choice out of that sticky situation is to jump to your death?” You questioned, getting all the more unnerved at the private detective’s survival skills.

“Ah, you’re right I could’ve died doing something like that.” Akai stares widely, clapping her hands together like she had a eureka moment. You merely slant your eyes and let out a sigh in response.

“Well even if the dragon wasn’t there I’d still had one secret trick that would slow my speed of descent to come out of it without serious injuries. But thankfully it didn’t come to that and I caught a ride on a suspicious dragon. I mean what a creature like that doing in West City anyway.”

“...Fascinating. Well, you look safe enough to make the trip back to West city.”

“..About that...I didn’t bring with me any transportation capsules. Things were moving hectic during the pursuit that I left the police vehicle at the parking lot before continuing tailing them into the warehouse building.” Akai blanky laughs, rubbing the back of her head in awkward embarrassment. “So as of now I don’t have any means of travel, nor can I just go back empty-handed without finding out why they want that mysterious ball so much.”

Today was just full of surprises for you.

Staring blankly at the absent-minded girl you let out another sigh from your mouth. To think that you started early morning preparing for your journey to the parts unknown. Well, it goes to show you that no amount of planning and preparation can come close to the spontaneous chain of events that life foretold. In any case, you walk right out from the window and straight to the door. There was no reason to doubt Akai’s words as she didn’t look like the type to lie. Heck, you were baffled at how the airhead managed to get the title of an inspector. That was actually a big deal, especially for an independent detective/officer.

Be that as it may, it was clear that the mysterious orange ball she has must be valuable if a couple of high-class criminals are looking for it. Forget leaving her outside with the wildlife, you’re more concerned about how she was going to handle the criminal underworld. No capsules, no communication, no anything. The odds were certainly stacked against this representative of righteous justice. Thus you feel compelled to do something about it. Fighting bad guys wasn’t exactly the first thing to come to mind when you started this adventure. But there was no point in reflecting on the past as what’s done is done.

“Alright, you can come inside.” You say, unlocking the door and opening it much to her surprise.

“For real? You sure you don’t mind me crashing with you for the time being?” Akai asks, making sure that this wasn’t a trick with her dim yet focused stare.

“Yeah, it would make me feel ill if I left someone without any supplies into the wilderness, especially when they could already be marked for a bounty by hitmen.” You remark while ushering her to come inside. “Just don’t be a bother for me, that’s all I really ask.”

Without warning, Akai quickly sprints towards you before tackling you into a heart-filled hug. You who were caught off guard by this found yourself tumbling down against the floor and nearly towards the wall. Akai only laughs as she thanks you for your hospitality, much to your minor inconvenience. At least this trip wasn’t going to be a boring one. After briefly discussing where Akai was going to sleep and preparing dinner, you made your way back to the detective’s carrying bag. Upon digging in you found exactly what you were looking for as you pull out a mysterious orange ball.
>>
>>4182269

Just like Akai said it was the item that the pilaf gang was looking for. As you inspect it you come to see that this baseball-size ball has stars on it. Counting to yourself you notice that there was, in fact, seven stars on the ball. Staring at it closely you feel your heart throbbing a bit from being so close to the mystical orb. You weren’t sure how but you feel like you felt this experience before. Before it had the chance to pull you into a trance, you quickly set the ball on the table and went to pick up a smartphone. Akai was in the bathroom taking a long, relaxing shower to your request since she smelled.

Picking up the phone you speed-dial the only person you think would know the answer to this predicament. Thankfully you would get a connection as you hear someone pick up from the other end. A turquoise haired teenage with a full-figure appearance and tender demeanor shows up on the other side on the monitor. The right side of her hair had a small ponytail sticking out as the rest reached down to her shoulders. Wearing nothing but an army print bikini top and short shorts you know this scanty tomboy was the one. There was nobody else who could be so flippant while still being smart. Your childhood friend Bulma, just the person that you were looking to call.

“Oh hey, t’s you. Rather shocking to receive a call from you at this time. Thought you’d be too busy with whatever experiment to check up on me.” Bulma says, greeting you with the same temperamental tone you come to expect. A college graduate should show more manners to her fellow graduate as they were both recognized as adults.

“Hello, Bulma. And I saw you one last time before taking off tomorrow...which is today. “ You point out, staring blankly with an unamused expression.

“You know cool people don’t let themselves live in the past.” Bumla lectures you, almost pouting at you before resuming a more gentle tone. Well, as gentle as Bulma can get with her childhood friend anyway. “Anyway, you wanted to talk to me about something?”

“Right, right. I wanted to talk to you about this thing I found as well as an unwilling hitchhiker.” You say, explaining what has happened to Akai in an abridged version. Bulma, on the other hand, listens to coly, frequently nodding her head as she too mentions how easy it is to get battle jackets and other mechs. But the state of the art versions was notoriously harder to get due to supply and demand. It’s only when you finally show her the dragon ball that she nearly falls back before smearing her entire face on the monitor on her end.

“T-That’s the Dragon Ball! I’ve been looking for that! “ Bulma exclaims, making the widest of smiles as stars form out of her pupils. “I’ve should’ve known that my childhood friend would come to my aid and help me on my quest to get a wish from shenron~”
>>
>>4182300

Before you heard Bulma talk about the dragon balls in full volume you look to your hand and realize exactly what you come to expect when hearing the name “Dragon’s Ball”.“WHAT?! THIS IS A DRAGON BALL!! YUCK, I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M TOUCHING IT!! DISGUSTING! I DON’T WANT A DRAGON’S BALLSACK.” You shout, nearly dropping the ball onto the table before going off to wash your hands feverishly. Despite this, you manage to keep yourself on the line in between scrubbing. “You guys are seriously insane in the membrane to want to hunt down something like this.”

“IT’S NOT LITERALLY YOU DUMBASS!!” Bulma screams, angrily fuming as her face lights up like a red tomato. “Look, the dragon balls are wish-granting orbs that can great anything that your hearts desire. But only when you got all seven can that wish come true as Shenron, the dragon emerges out from the seven balls to grant said wish.”

“Okay...that’s not nearly as disgusting as I’d originally thought it to be. So tell me, why exactly are you looking for these things. I find it hard to believe that someone of your lineage would need something like a wish-granting dragon.”

“Fufufufu, simple naive Yu, haven’t you realize that you can’t solve everything with money. No, for what I wish for requires far more magic and wonder than mere science or monetary gain can provide for me.” Bulma smugly declares, shooting down your common sense. “But I’m not sure I should tell you something like that.”

Letting out another sigh, you quickly got down on your knees. “Oh please my fair princess, forgive this lowly swain for disrespecting the maiden’s pure wishes. Please tell me what your wish, my lady.” You exclaim, hiding your disinterest as getting Bulma mad was not worth losing valuable information about the dragon balls or how to deal with your current problems.

“That’s more like it. Anyway, my wish from Shenron is to have a lifetime supply of fresh, juicy strawberries!” Bulma smiles dumbfoundedly, eyes gleaming at fantasy as you almost imagine Bulma swimming in an ocean of fresh strawberries. You start to look ill at realizing yet again that the smartest person in the world was still a teenage girl. And a brat to boot.

“...Bulma.” You mutter, eyes conveniently cover by the shadow to hide your growing bewilderment over Bulma’s sheer spoiledness.

“Yes? Did my groundbreaking wish make you speechless.” Bulma grins, showing the apex of vanity that dives right into narcissistic behavior. Furthering the sweat droplets sliding off your fair, milky skin.

“You have to be perhaps the dumbest smart person I’ve ever met. And that’s saying something after hijacking a galactic space officer’s spaceship when you were in kindergarten. ” You empathize in irritation, going as far as to throw your hands to add that extra element. "That's like the worst wish I've ever heard. And that's assuming the dragon balls work like you say you claimed."

“What’s that supposed to me! Also if memory serves you were also along as my accomplish. So wouldn’t that make you just as dumb as for me?” Bulma defensively argues in between hissing at being called an idiot. All the symptoms of a bratty child, but in this case, she wasn’t fully wrong. Although you were brought into the ship via strongarmed by Bulma, it didn’t change the fact you still went in. Curiosity is a notorious cat killer.

“No comment...Anyway, you do realize that with all of your valuable resources and smarts that you yourself can make a lifetime supply of strawberries easily. Heck with my mother’s extensive knowledge of biology, specifically her knowledge of cloning could make some super plant-based organisms that can endlessly replicate and reproduce asexually to make your lifetime supply of strawberries. Something that I can do myself given that I learned everything I can from her.” You explain, dropping the attitude and trying to be the adult between both of you.

“I mean you’re not wrong but look at it from my perspective. Do you know how much time, money and effort it would take to engineer the perfect strawberry? Much less mass produce it to fit my needs. I think I’m making the smart idea to let the dragon take care of it. Besides, my alternative is asking you to turn things into strawberries with your magi-like abilities. I’ve been through that road before and I’m not doing it again.”

“I was five! It wasn’t my fault! How many times are you going to hold against me for turning you into bloomers?!”
>>
>>4182888

[that was supposed to be accomplice, my bad]

“Also, what exactly constitutes a lifetime? Time is subjective, what could be the life expectancy of one person could be drastically different from another. For all of what you'd know you could be walking into a legal dispute with the wish-granting dragon. Do you really want to argue with such a begin over linguistics with your wish? As the only son of a notorious researcher and creator of technomancy (Magitech for short) take it from me when I honestly tell you that you don’t want to mess with magic or at least carelessly.” You lecture Bulma, seemingly having the high ground as she starts to grumble under her breath at you picking holes in her plan. “And what will you do when you get sick of them? Do the strawberries stop on command or just keep endlessly going. What if you're stuck with the power to touch anything and make it into fresh strawberries.”

“Jeez, with the way you’re describing it you make messing with magic is a bad thing.” Bulma scoffs with a pout, causing you to form a cross shape mark on your forehead over her flippant disregard for common sense in this scenario.

“My mother is a prime example! She went and mess with a Genie in a teapot with her experiments and ended up irreversibly merged with the creature. Sure it brought a lot of good with such a fusion but it also brought a lot of inconveniences for her. Point is you shouldn’t tangle with such things. Go back home and forget you ever head about these dragon balls.” You once again try to explain, remembering to keep your cool and be respectful.

“..uh-huh. I think I get it now. You’re trying to get the wish yourself. Picking apart my crafted wish while putting me down to make yourself look better. I’m on to your tricks Yuu. I wasn’t born yesterday.”
>>
>>4182896

“WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU JUMP TO A CONCLUSION LIKE THAT?! I’m dead serious Bulma about your safety. If the pilaf gang is after those dragon balls, sooner or later they’re going to come looking for you. And according to Akai, they got their own robotic exo-suit and mechas. A sixteen year own traveling alone with a looming danger like that doesn’t sit well with me.” You angrily shout, nearly blowing a gasket at trying to get Bulma to listen to reason.

After hearing those words, Bulma looks at you with a wide-eyed stare. Even with your crude and blunt way of saying it, she was touched by how much you cared about her wellbeing. Once again hinting back to the strange relationship between the two of you. Acting like siblings or a platonic duo of this world’s Bonnie and Clyde. For both of you, this was the first time being separated for this long since Shapeshifting Academy. Still, in your annoyance you find yourself reaching over to turn off the monitor and end the call. Dinner time was upon you and you weren’t going to settle on takeout.

Before you could turn off the monitor, Bulma quickly makes one final suggestion. “Well if you’re so worried about me, why don’t you come along and join me on this journey as my bodyguard?”

“Sorry, I’m gonna have to decline on that offer.” You say bluntly with a deadpan expression.

“Huh!?!?! Da hell’s the matter with you! First, you get me all worried about this journey after dropping a bomb like that, and now you don’t want to even come to my aid! Some best friend you are!” Bulma yells, nearly causing your hair to flow in the opposite direction from her seething whining.

“It’s not that at all you idiot! Haven’t you realize that we’ve been together since five! The whole point of this adventure is to see the world independently. I want to find out and learn everything I can about it, see how far I can go and find exactly what I can do for this world. Where do I fit in the grand scheme of it? And to do that, I have to keep myself from being swept by your pace and submit myself to being your lackey.”You argue back, not backing down one bit from your choice as you reveal another reason why you headed on this trip on your own.

“Ōkazu...I never saw you as my lackey..” Bulma mutters, reeling from the screen and gives a meek expression before slumps over awkwardly. The mood went cold and heavy as neither one of you could find the words to speak for a good while.

Turning your head and scratching your head, you finally break the silence with a bashful response. “That said, it still wouldn’t sit well with me leaving you to handle this Dragon Ball business with the Pilaf gang. So tell you what, I’m going to search for the dragon balls and serve as a decoy to draw them out. Preferably if I can I like to personally take em down myself and be done with it. Either way, they need all seven to summon the wish-granting dragon and make their wish. The fact that both of us each have one dragon ball means that they can’t make their wish without having to deal with either of us first. So while I do that, if you’re serious about making a wish then do me a favor and keep yourself safe. Heck, use this chance to find someone strong to protect you or invent something that can do the job.” You lecture Bulma, trying to act really cool and hide your blush in the process.
>>
>>4184529

“That’s really corny Yuu. I didn’t think someone of your smarts would make such a romantic statement. What sort of fairy tale did you pick that line from? Also, how are you going to find the dragon balls?” Bulma remark, holding back her laughter but failing as she jabs at your attempts at being the hero.

Grumbling from the ridicule your face starts to turn red as you clinch your hands tightly. “Don’t make fun of me! I’m a college graduate too you know!”You scream, getting rather bothered at being talked down like a kid in such a condescending manner.

“Alright, alright. Since you’re going to be helping me with the Dragon Ball business and keeping those Pilaf Gang at bay, I can give you the blueprints to make your own Dragon Ball Radar. It’ll save both of us time rather than have you try and make one on your own.”Bulma teases before

After exchange typical playful banner with Bulma, you soon find yourself receiving the blueprints and schematic needed to make your own Dragon Radar. Given that one of your many capsules has your own state of the art portal laboratory and workshop it wasn’t going to be a problem making one. Your pride didn’t want you to accept any more of Bulma’s help after being taunted by her on your own skills. With your goodbye, you turn off the tv and went back to cooking for two. Right now there were five dragon balls currently unclaimed by either you or Bulma. At least one of them has to be in the Pilaf Gang’s possession.

Although you originally intended to just help Bulma, you feel the strong desire to show her up by being the one to collect all seven first. A fierce fire burns around you as it motivates you to succeed. This adventure was starting to get really exciting as your blood start pumping with hot-blooded vigor. Thus you prepare a fancy dinner at lightspeeds. Not only that but you also manage to manage to develop the dragon radar simultaneously in time at all. As you pat yourself on a job well done you find yourself getting some unforeseen company. Right behind you was Akai, currently standing in the hall in nothing but her towel.

“...Hey Ōkazu, I put all of my clothing in the wash before taking my bath and it’s going to be a while until they dry. Do you think you got any spare clothing that I can wear till then?” Akai blankly asks, doing a rather poor job at tying her towel as it quickly falls off.

>What do you do?

“Yeah sure, I’ll show you around so you pick some clothing out. Just wait right there as I-” As you turn to converse with Aki you were hit with a swift knockout punch from the sight you were currently seeing.

Now you were exceptionally bright and shape for a boy of your age, befitting your status as the lone son of the top researcher on Earth. So most would forget to account age when speaking to you due to your talents and achievements. Going as far as to treat you with the same kind of respect and dignity as a full-fledged adult and scholar. And yet even with all your boundless wisdom and insight, there was one thing you couldn’t escape from. You were still a sixteen-year-old teenager riddled with hormones. With that in mind seeing this slender and curvy toned body in the nude certain set off a lot of flags in your mind.

Refusing to lose your composure you instinctively punch yourself in the face, blood starting to drip from your nose out of pain instead of perversion.“Hold on! Before we talk about getting you dressed in proper clothing why don’t you focus on cover yourself up! Don’t you have any shame?” You scream, covering your mouth with your left hand, right hand still holding the screwdriver..

Staring blankly at you for a bit, Akai tilts her head down to see herself now in her birthday suit. “Huh? Well how about that, my towel came off. Oops.” Akai laments in monotone, sticking out her tongue in a cutesy manner.

“WHY ARE YOU SO NONCHANTLY ABOUT BEING NAKED?! WHAT ARE YOU?! A CHILD!!” At this point, you feel the need to cover your eyes with your free hand out of common decency.

Without a shred a shame, Akai merely shrugs at you, dumbfounded at your sudden rise in tone. “Don’t know? I mean it’s not a crime to be naked in someone’s house. Besides, I don’t get the vibe that you’re a pervert and/or desperate to try and make a move. And last time I’d check I’m eighteen years old.” Akai explains, slowly reaching for her towel and making things all the more awkward for you.
>>
>>4184887

“Aargh, nevermind I’ll solve this myself.” Pointing your finger up into the air you begin to focus. With no other options, you decided to gamble on your supernatural abilities. It’s been ten long years since you first awaken them and you strongly believe your presence in getting them under control wasn’t going to betray you.

And you be right as the mystic energy surging from your body began to manifest itself properly. In your knowledge of transforming into things and morphing both living and non-living matter lies the secret of another application. One that you weren’t able to do consciously as a kid, but it still manifests itself when you need it most. Today was different as upon command you fire off a golden beam of mystic energy towards Akai. Hitting her before she could blink she found herself undergoing a magical girl transformation. Opening your eyes to the sight you see that Akai was enveloped by the golden energy from head to toe.

As the detective spin gracefully her body enwraps the mystic energy as it starts to stake shape. Soon it starts to dissipate around her feet, only in its place was a pair of fishnet stockings with a second pantyhose-style layer underneath. Around Akai waist was a sapphire blue leotard with a black bunny tail sticking out from behind. As for her hands, they were now gloved with a black leather glove with a fur cuff around the wrist. One for each hand. Around the neck was a special choker brooch, tied together in a cute white bow. Lastly around the head was a pair of bunny ears, currently bouncing in a comedic fashion.

You weren’t sure how but for some reason you manage to materialize matter out of thin air. This wasn’t as shocking as it should as you powers manifest a buttload of mystic and crazy supernatural effects as you were sure things appearing from out of where happen before. Now you seem to invoke that same power to pull off one of those unexplained phenomena. Unfortunately, it didn’t go exactly as planned as Akai starts to check herself off in her new clothing.

“I don’t really mind since this really comfy but isn’t dressing someone up as a playboy bunny just as bad as letting them walk around naked?” Akai asks, hitting you hard in the checks as you feel the weight of being lectured by a total scatterbrain.

“GOD DAMN IT!!” You scream, shotgunning a whole wardrove and other necessities from your fingertips wildly. Although given how flustered and agitated you were for your first time pulling off materializing matter from thin air in the form of clothing you were a fashion collection for all the season till you get it right and all out of your system. If nothing else, Akai didn’t need to go shopping any time soon.

The next morning brings forth the first of many new days on this ever-developing adventure. After that embarrassing predicament, you set your sights on catching some serious exploration through the meadows. Dragon ball searching can wait as your desire to explore the lands and see the world took greater priority. Of course, you weren’t going to be traveling alone as Akai was essentially the accessory to the dragon ball in your possession. Despite her laid-back and absent-minded attitude, she was very adamant when it came to her job and maintaining order. You would find that admirable if she didn’t keep changing shamelessly in your presence.

Clumsy, mostly light-hearted though can also appear half-hearted at times, and dangerous chill best describe this assortment of paradoxical tropes. Almost unaware of what she does like she was on constant autopilot but somehow generally managing to succeed what she sets out to do continues to baffle your great mind to this day. Regardless, after a hearty breakfast, the two of you step out of the house in a timely fashion. With a simple press of the button, the giant house vanishes as in its place was the capsule. Picking up the capsule and putting it into your collection, you start to lightly stretch to get the body limber for instant freeform shapeshifting.

Looking at your stretching with a blank, uncaring expression, Akai lets out a small yawn. “Not that I mind but are you sure you want to transform into a flying animal and not use one of your aerial capsules instead?” Akai asks, learning about your shapeshifting powers during dinner to which she found cool but it was hard to believe her with her frequent daze and dull expressions. She even forgot that you were the dragon that she picked a ride on, showing that forgetfulness was another one of her bumbling quirks.

“It’ll build up some good exercise and besides flying with my own innate abilities feels far more satisfying than being cooped up in aircraft. Not even the hovercycle can truly capture the feeling. But it does come close.” You explain in between stretching. While you haven’t fully committed to building muscle, your body was quite athletic especially for a medium build scholar mainly to handle your supernatural abilities to their fullest.

“If you say so,” Akai replies, staring off into the air as she begins daydreaming.
>>
>>4186403

On record time you finish your stretching to then start staring at Akai’s choice of attire. A long blue and orange hoodie jacket, matching sports bra and black and orange hotpants with matching action boots. A slight blush comes off your face from seeing the ditzy inspector once again nonchalantly wearing revealing clothing. Compared to Bulma Akai was certainly more well-endowed and fully developed for obvious reason. Yet there was something strange about her paradox of having a sexy appearance but an innocent to her, giving her a uniquely cute charm to her. This was going to take some serious getting used to.

“By the way, your choice of clothing….I’m not going to act like I’m your parent but are you sure you want to wear that? I did gave you an overabundant of supplies, including clothing.” You point out, folding your arms and turning away in cold indifference for your sanity’s sake.

“Which I’m very appreciative of, but from the map, we’re about to head towards the beach or desert depending on your navigation. So might as well dress for the occasion. And loose-fitting clothing has always been my style, that and sleeveless form-fitting clothing. Wearing gaudy and restrictive clothing clashes too much with my profession. Ya’know?” Akai dumbfoundedly smiles, tugging at her bra string much to your growing embarrassment.

“Yeah, I get it. Anyway, hop on so we can get a move on.” You sigh, putting the thought out of your mind as you took to the skies transforming into a Longma, a winged horse with draconic traits. Like the white dragon, it was optimized for aerodynamics but this time taking into account that another person was going to ride alongside you.

“You know its rather strange seeing you transform. It’s like something out of a fairytale or something.” Akai stares, walking around as she admires your majestic appearance before getting on.

“So long as you don’t make any wisecracks then it doesn’t bug me being compared to folklore.” You answer back once you saw Akai firmly in place and ready for take-off.

Without further ado, the two of you set off into the skies as you fly at top speed. Galloping high up into the sky, you feel the wind’s cool breeze brushing off against you upon your sky dancing art. Wings spread out to adjust your placement in the wind’s currents and ride them smoothly without resistance. Meanwhile, Akai found herself silent for she was too busy getting lost in the beauty of your flight and the overall scenery. To her, this act of motion really was no different from a children’s fairy tale as her throbs with excitement. You left yourself to embrace the wind’s current, getting lost in the moment as anything else didn’t matter.
>>
>>4186407

Flying without any cares led the two of you to travel at a fair pace throughout the lands. Soon enough you and Akai find yourselves passing through the sea. To your amazement, the fishes around the area were quite huge in size as several of them sprung out of the water and high into the air. Luckily for the both of you that you were far too high and was far oo dexterous to be caught by the sea creatures. Leaving both of you to watch the scenery in peace as you continue flying. Eventually, the two of you come to a stop at a wide desert at the other end of the large ocean. If your directions were right you were near the road that links to City Street. Going down the path upwards would lead you eventually to the southwest forest.

Of course, according to rumors just in the middle of Southwest forest and City street was an oasis land. A palace in the desert said to house a mysterious fortune teller who can accurately predict the future. On the opposite ends of City lies the massive city of Mifan far off in the distance. An expansive empire that has said to use to host what would one day be the world’s martial arts tournament in today’s time. Even so, it was still a country rich with mystic and wonder just waiting to be explored. Both places were certainly interesting to make for your main set goal for traveling, but which.

On paper, both places sound plausible for both you and Akai to travel to. Between finding a mystical palace-like oasis and going to a Chinese themed empire certainly tickle your fancy quite well. Of course, being the daring adventure you set yourself out to be you were feeling especially daring today. Mifan was always a country you could go to on any other day. At worse it would make for a good alternative if the rumor about the palace in the desert is a bust. With a decision now set, you begin to embark on traveling into the desert.

And yet there was a sneaking suspicion brewing in the back of your head. You weren’t sure why exactly but something was calling you elsewhere. A faint voice that was soothing to you but also unsettling as you continue to fly. As a man of science, well, to be more accurate, you were someone who tends to believe everything can be solved by science, even the unexplainable like magic. So this was no exception as you continue listening to your ears pick up the mystical sounds. Be it pure instincts or your premonition from your foresight, you were compelled to follow the source of the sound as it was visible to your sight.

Instinctively your body starts to shift course from your attended direction. Akai doesn’t say a word about your sudden change, choosing to instead go along with whatever decision you make. Which was good for you as you find yourself going into a trance-like state from being in the zone. A case of mind over matter as nothing was keeping you from seeing this through to the end. Not even your body as you fly at top speeds.

Losing track at how long you have gone you would find yourself traveling to what you can only assume was the ends of the earth. Again you weren’t sure how you did it but you manage to pass through halfway around the world in supersonic speeds in just less than fifteen hours from where you started. Snapping out of your long trance you see yourself currently travel down a foggy current. Down below was a series of long spiky pillars surrounding a thin, long bridge to what looks like a gigantic mountain shrouded in purple mist. The entire area seems otherworldy to but also strangely peasant as it carries a familiar feeling for you.

Before the siren’s call could beacon you further your attention turns back to your companion Akai. Tough as nails don’t begin to describe the resilence this spunky lass brought as she continues firmly anchoring herself through the flight. Although she mostly entertained herself through listening to podcasts and music on her universal walkman, it was clear that she remained steadfast through traveling half-way around the world at top speeds. Anyone else would’ve fallen off or get knocked off in black comedic fashion. Yet Akai remains motionless through the turbulence without flinching.

“Hey, Akai? You’re still with me right?” You ask, checking up on the serious face inspector.

Turning her head to the side to look at you, Akai returns to her character as she starts rubbing her eyes.“Yeah, I’m still here and conscious. Though not gonna lie, riding on a flying horse for fifteen-hour straight is giving some jetlag.”

“Yeah, that’s what I thought. Hey listen, I know this is going to sound weird especially considering our original plans but hear me out.” After getting Akai’s full attention you begin to explain to her exactly what was going on and what led you down to taking this sudden detour from the original location. Of course, you nearly had to repeat yourself as Akai still had the AirPods in her ear, making it hard for her to listen to your explanation. Aside from that, it seems she was taking it quite well. Absent-minded aside she was hardboiled and steadfast, fine attributes when looking for a competent if not a dependable detective.

“So to summarize you see and hear this mysterious voice, and out of your intuition you felt the need to go straight to it, hence this long flight into this rather chilling mountain region, am I right?” Akai recollects, tapping her chin and looking at the crimson sky before turning back to you.

“Yeah, that’s basically it. Sounds crazy doesn’t it.” You nod, awkwardly laughing at the chain of events.

“Hmm, a bit but considering what I end up doing on the job it’s not really all that surprising.” Akai stares seriously at you, making a soft smile before brushing your mane for support. “Anyway, if your intuition is really telling you to go to this place then chances are it must be important. I trust my intuition all the time as a detective, in times like these, it’s the only thing you can depend on especially when it counts the most.”

“That’s reassuring actually. Thanks, Akai. So that brings me to my question, what do you want to do? I basically took you here without consoling you which wasn’t fair now that I think about it.”

“Well, I’d like to say that I come with you and see this out to the end. But with jetlag, I feel like I’ll be more a liability than any sort of assistance. So I’m going to have to sit this out for now until I’ve had my recovery nap.”

“Yeah, that sounds fair. Hang on and I’ll drop us down.” On the dime, you descend down towards the foot of the mountain after traveling at what seems like forever for the both of you. Safely landing on the soft, red soil you let Akai get off before returning to your original form and pulling out the housing capsule. Placing it somewhere safe did you soon activate it and go through the ropes to set up the security for her.

“Okay base of operations secured, now if anything goes seriously wrong you can contact me on my cellphone and I’ll come back flying in a heartbeat.” You explain to Akai as she was now standing at the other end of the door.

“Roger. Have a safe exploration.” Akai smiles, waving to you as you smile back at reassurance.

With your companion safely guarded, you made your way into the glooming mountain top. Going as far as to turn one of the nearby pillars into an Azure Dragon Sword for a weapon. All that practice earlier with making supplies and handy items made the Butsushitsu Shutsugen Majutsu aka Magic Materialization more dependable but it was still in your go-to nature to transmute existing things with Busshitsu Henkan or otherwise called Matter Transmutation. Regardless, you begin entering the mountain with a weapon in hand, the trail of the voice serving as your navigation through the mountain. You get the feeling that without such convenience you’d probably find yourself lost and being deceived by the illusions.

Before long you would find yourself standing at what appears to be a massive gateway. Looking to the left and to the right there was a wall that extends throughout the horizon. Making you question just how far the landscape goes.

Taking a moment to look around your surroundings you document the surrealness of the area. Strangely you think back to the great wall of china back in your original world as it was of the same if not greater scope. This was clearly made for a giant akin to Godzilla in stature to easily walk through without any problem with its two hundred meters size. So cleary shapeshifting into a creature capable of towering such gates would be notoriously strenuous on your part. In theory, you never really try such a feat in all your years of transformation arts practice. Flight through shapeshifting would also be a chore to overlap the gate and get to the other side.

Wanting to get a better understanding of the structure you walk over for a better sight. Judging from the door it appears to quite sturdy and reinforced. Only when you begin to touch it that you start to feel strange energy pulsating from the door. Again it was familiar to you, almost like you were surrounded by this kind of radiance before. But for the life of you, you couldn’t particularly remember why. What should be completely unsettling to you strangely remains soothing to you. Going as far as to nearly puts your mind at ease. This only further adds to the mystery of this mystical mountain region.

Remembering your manners you refrain from trying to mess with the gate in any way or try to use shapeshifting to commit housebreaking. Instead, you start to knock at the door by transforming your right hand into a giant robotic arm. Slamming at it with enough force to echo across the entirety of the horizon, you made sure to let your presence noticed to whoever was on the other side of the gate.

“Hello? Is anyone there? My name is Ōkazu Ryōma, I’m a traveling scholar and adventurer from West City. I came to this land because I heard a mysterious soothing voice calling for me as it led me to this place. I know this might sound weird but I think I was drawn here to see this mountain region and meet with whoever is in charge of the gate. So I hope I’m not imposing when I ask if I can come in and see the source of that voice or the one in charge? Please and thank you.” You exclaim loudly while remaining to be courteous and polite. Even going as far as to bow to whoever was looking at the other side of the gate.

Before you had time to assume that the owner was to deny you, a loud rumbling starts to emerge from the gate. Creaking rather loudly the gates slowly start to open in dramatic fashion. Backing away just enough to avoid being smacked by the door you look directly into the gate to see a long Chinese styled garden and pathway. Quickly you scurry into the garden as the gate closes behind you. Once inside you start walking down the path, taking the moment to imprint the gorgeous scenery to your eyes. Everything was serene and tranquil as you pass through the pathway, up the stairs, and down the massive halls.

Eventually, after what seemed like forever you finally made your stop at what appears to be a colossal furnace with a giant cooking pot place on top of it. Judging from its jade embedding and designs it was exceptionally well kept in top condition despite clearly being ancient. It was simply breathtaking as it nearly distracts you from seeing what appears to be a colossal woman wearing formal if not ancient Chinese guardian attire currently staring at the pot with a perplexed expression. It was obvious to you that she was far too distracted to notice someone coming into her personal domain.

“Hmm, the fire is acting very strange today. It’s burning lopsided. I thought that a quick fix would do the job. How troubling.” The mysterious woman mutters, her voice practically booming down your eardrums as you barely manage to look up her sight. “Perhaps I should ask King Yemma to send me a better repairman to fix the problem.”

“Excuse me. But might I be of service?” You chimed from your spout, speaking loud enough to get the mysterious giantess’s attention if barely.

Turning towards the faint sounds, the raven-haired woman quickly kneels down to look you face to face. “A Shinjin? To what honor does someone like you have to be out here instead. Has King Yemma sent you? I didn’t think he would be bringing me another person so soon after the last one.”She exclaims happily, much to your grief as you held your acute ears back from her booming voice.

“Aha, right my apologies. I sometimes forget to control the volume of my voice.” She apologizes, placing her right hand against her throat before changing the pitch and frequency of her voice. In a blink of an eye, she would reach a level of communication that was perfectly clear without having to whisper. “How’s this?”

“Perfect, thank you. “ You reply, smiling at the fair-skinned woman.

Smiling herself the mysterious woman goes to get a closer look as you find yourself reaching her giant almond-shaped eyes. Her relax expression shifts ever so slightly once she got a good look at you. “No wait, you’re different from the others that I’ve met. Hmm..you have a particular aura about you that’s mixed with your Shinjin ki.” She ponders, slowly moving over to look at you from all sides until she figures out what exactly what was off. Soon her eyebrow raises ever so slightly as she pulls away to stroke her chin. “Just as I thought, that particular ki is that of a human’s. How strange…”

“..Is there something wrong about me being half-human? And how do you know about the Shinjin? Nobody I’ve met even heard a clue about them?” You question, giving a slightly sharp look to the mysterious girl.

“Not particularly. I just find it rather surprising to meet a Shinjin-hybrid, much less an earthling to boot. As for how I know them, well I am a deity after all. Like the Guardian of the Earth, I have specialties to those from Other World. The Shinjin live particularly on that side, generally serving both planes of this existence as the Kais. Essentially overseers of the universe and regulators as King Yemma serves as the administrator for the afterlife.”

“Okay, I think I understand the gist of it. Any other question I’ve had can wait until the situation is dealt with. With that in mind, I think I’ll start from the beginning and explain myself and why I’m here.” You politely explain to the mysterious giantess, essentially repeating what you said back at the entrance to the castle grounds. In addition, you went in great detail about what led you to this region. Causing the mysterious woman to widen her eyes in shock at what she was hearing as you soon finish telling your story.
>>
>>4188930

“I see. So you hear the sounds of the furnace’s steam seeping out. Now listen closely, when a living being dies they leave behind a spirit and that spirit begins its travel from the place it died towards the afterlife, specifically called Other World. How its done is through a thing we call a creek. The creek acts as a network point for the steam to flow through safely without directly interacting with the physical world. Becoming fog in the process once it escapes from the mountain’s volcano. Serving as an invisible pathway for the spirit to safely move from Earth to the Other World, and vice versa on special occasions. Such as the anniversary of their death.“ The mysterious woman explains, being careful to keep the explanation simple and easy to digest despite her elderly way of speaking. To you, this almost feels like deja vu as you underwent a similar lecture about the afterlife by Whis.

“Well, that explains why it felt so familiar to me despite never experiencing anything like in my life so far.” You say, holding back the knowledge that you died once before as Yuu Tatsumaki. It seems that your reincarnated life made you naturally attune to the spirits and the other world. Thus, serving as the primary reason for you at least why you were drawn here. And that’s not even beginning to calculate your half-Shinjin blood into the equation. “I’d take it this isn’t something mere mortals should see.”

“To see not the fog but its true essence as steam and listen to its melody is proof that you’re an Offworlder or at least have deep connections to them. The sole exception is someone who momentarily died but came back, once again I’ve never met someone who could interpret the notes as clearly as you without being dead or an offworlder.” The mysterious woman praises you, fully acknowledging your status as a fellow outworlder despite being born on earth. Or so you think anyway.

“How interesting….” The smile on the woman’s face widens ever so slightly as her eyes trail back towards the furnace. Tapping her chin at the possibility, an idea starts to hatch in her mind. “Hmm, a half-Shinjin with a pure heart can be useful in helping me with my predicament.”

“Alright, I’ll tell you the problem that I’ve been facing. See, there have been cracks underneath the furnace that have been sapping the strength of the flames. Worse of all is the effects of where those flames have been going as this place is still on earth. So I can only imagine the trouble it’s causing to Mount Gogyōzan’s antipodal region, Mt. Frypan. It’s been like this recently for ten long years and had I have possession of the Bashō Fan I could easily dim down the flames long enough to make the proper repairs. “
>>
>>4188938

“Forgive me if I sound bold for saying this. But to me, it sounds like this isn’t something that could be solved by merely turning off the flame and doing repairs. Otherwise, I’d think you would have done it long ago.” You speculate, already forming a very coherent theory based on observation and your acute insight on the matter.

Smiling softly at your answer, the mysterious woman kneels back down to you. “Very shrewd. If I was to let the flames go out for even a moment, it’ll take around two hundred years to reignite the flames. For the mortal realm that’ll be bad, especially for the planet earth. Without the flames, those who have died will not be able to embark on the trip to Other World while those who remain on the other side will be unable to make their way back to this plane of existence. Not only that but the entire plane of existence will be thrown into chaos. Dark spirits will run amuck onto the mortal realm after escaping from their intended destination. But even that isn’t the worst of it...“

“...What can be so bad that the scenario of the world plunged into eternal darkness and brought to ruin by evil spirits is just an afterthought?” You question the giantess, feeling rather uneasy after hearing her premonition if the furnace’s flames were to ever go out, even for a moment.

“But worse of all, it’ll look especially bad on our record. Grand Zeno, king of all would be most displeased with this predicament. Not only will he have my head, but Lord Yemma, the Kais and even the God of Destruction for letting such a thing happen. And I shudder to think what sorts of acts would he do to remedy the situation.” As the mysterious woman says this you nearly drop to your feet in response. You never expected a deity of all people to act like a typical manager or high ranking employee panicking over the company’s latest scandal. Goes to show that even the gods were no different than mortals.

Calming herself after a series of deep breaths, the mysterious woman returns to being calm and collective as a proper guardian.“If you’re serious about helping me with my dilemma then I will assist you in any way I can in my jurisdiction as well as reward you young half-shinjin.”

“I am. This sounds dangerously serious and you could use all the help you can get. I feel like there was a reason for me being here and now I’m sure that this is it. So I’m not going to take back my word. But...do you think you can call me by my name rather than Young Shinjin. Like you said I’m half-earthling, and it feels strange talking to a deity in such old-fashion.” As you ask this of the giantess, you turn your head,-scratching the back in embarrassment. You didn’t want to call the giantess an old lady but she was making it quite hard on you not to.
>>
>>4188962

After hearing those words, the mysterious giantess instantly shrunk down from her towering titan height. No longer did she look like she could easily reach the roof of the gateway and instead stood at a measly two hundred and twenty centimeters. Even at this height you still feel tiny compare to the guardian. “Right, forgive me for being impudent and forgetting my manners. I am An'nin, the guardian of the sacred Hakkero otherwise called the Furnace of Eight Divisions.” Annin says, offering her hand to shake to commemorate this greeting.

“Pleased to meet you, Annin.” You shook the hand back gracefully. The feel of her hands was enough to tell you that you were under the presence of a genuine grandmaster. Only someone who trained diligently could have such strong, firm hands.

“Now that introductions are out of the way I can tell you how you can assist me in this endeavor.” She soon removes her hand and starts beaconing you to follow her as she begins walking to the library. To which you of course did. “There are three methods in particular that help me with my crisis.”

“What are they?”

“The first method requires you to obtain a legendary fan, the Bashō-sen. With its strong winds, it’ll envelop the wearer in a protective veil, shielding them from the otherwordly flames. Allowing one to directly make repairs from the bottom without fear of being burnt to crips. The second method is to be blessed by the Immortal Phoenix. A creature that was once house by a wise yet perverted hermit till recently as it passed away. Ironic I know. Fortunately, I’ve collected its spirit and have been nursing its recovery process back into form.”

“..That sounds like an oxymoron if a literal immortal creature can die.”

“Yes well, it’s not truly immortal. But calling it the high-speed regenerating phoenix is too much of a mouthful to say. Also, not nearly as imposing wouldn’t you agree?”

“Fair point.”

“Although it doesn’t grant true immortality, conventional means won’t be able to permanently put you down. Like the phoenix, your body will quickly be reborn and transition back to the point before you died if its regenerative properties ever fail to heal you in time to prevent death. Provided if you’re truly accepted by the phoenix mind you. The worst it’ll do is give you eternal youth which is normally a side-effect. You’d be an exemption from natural death such as from old age or disease, as well as halting age altogether. But I have to warn you that the Immortal Bird is particularly withdrawn from others after its death. So if it won’t partially accept you, then it may end up consuming your soul depending on your impression on it. “
>>
>>4188980

You nearly turn pale upon hearing the bird possibly devouring your entire existence in one fell swoop. “...Right and what about the fan?”

“As for the Bashō-sen, it is said to be also located by that same hermit...or least it used to.”Annin laments with severe disappointment as she steps into the library.

“...Don’t tell me...it’s not at his home either.” You interject, feeling a similar shade of gloom down your shoulders.

“Afraid so. He lost it and it’s somewhere out there in the world. Fortunately, I know where one is capable of making it. However, that fan is safeguarded in an ancient language. It might be hard for you to translate and constitute a replacement fan just as good as the original. “

“And what’s the third method?” You sheepishly ask, hoping for the third one to be the easiest out of the three.

Turning back to meet you with closed eyes smile, Annin utters a rather morbid answer. “Well, the third reason is quite simple. I’d just have to kill you.”

Staring at her blankly, you nearly fall down and go stiff like a statue. Although she was a deity to say something so dark so casually was certainly dishearting for you. Sure you already experienced death once but you didn’t want to have to through it again so soon!

“Don’t panic, I’m not finished explaining,” Annin utters, waving her arms around at your depressive aura as she tries to reassure you out of a terrible imagination of your impending fate.

“It’ll be a temporary death as your soul comes out and assists me by going into the flames. Since your soul will be the only one going it won’t be at risk of being destroyed by the flames. But you’ll be on the clock as there’s only a certain window of opportunity for one to remain dead through the method I’ll be using before its official.” Even with that explanation, it didn’t exactly put your mind completely at ease. All three methods so far seem like a serious trial in on itself. Now you didn’t think this would be easy but for your first real adventure, it was far more than you originally bargained for.

“So there you have it. Those are the three options needed for someone of your statue to be able to successfully repair the furnace and do it right.” As she says this, Annin soon walks back towards you, softly placing her hands on your shoulders before kneeling down. “Now I know these choices must seem ridiculous if not downright impossible for someone of your young age. Shinjin or not. So I won’t hold it against you if you choose to take back your offer to help me.”

I feel like if we use the dragon balls that`ll come with its own problems. And do you really want to turn something optional into something mandatory?

We died once and while I'm saying we shouldn't risk our lives for the world, let's try not to be on a time limit while we do so.

Bansho fan may be the safest, I also think it'll be a chore to do. We can find the spot on our own or get lucky and find the original.

But what are chances to get Phoenix powers and cuck both Shin and Zamasu? I think these are acceptable parameters to risk our lives on.

>We gotta seduce the bird
That fucking phoenix has been around Roshi WAY too much, god damn it!
>>
>>4189757

Think about it really closely you begin to weigh your options. The Bashō-sen.sounds like exactly the magical artifacts you read in one of your stories when you were a kid. Your mother held all sorts of valuable books, scrolls, and other parchments on the occult in addition to her boundless archives of knowledge. Having something like that would be highly useful. The magic fan did more than control wind as it can influence the weather as well. It can raise a typhoon with a single wave, a thunderstorm with two and a monsoon with three. At the same time, there was the problem of actually finding the mystic fan. No, to be more correct it was actually making it.

Translating ancient language was already a trial in itself but getting the necessary resources to make it was equally troubling. Although you possess Magic Materialization, you still have yet to fully get it under wraps as of right now. So relying on it to make the components is far too risky. As for the third option, well you experience death before so it wasn’t like you didn’t know how to prepare for it. Keeping that in mind it was also a temporary death so it was nearly as bad. If only it didn’t come with the stipulation of being on a time limit. You don’t particularly do all that well when stressed and on the clock. A job like this requires everything to be done perfectly, so you couldn’t be reckless and end up doing a half-assed job.

By order of elimination, there was just one option left. Like the third, it also was a gamble of your life at best, and your entire existence at worse. The immortal phoenix does seem to be the best option as having any form of immortality and regenerative powers certainly is valuable. Like a video game with infinite lives, or more accurately a save point. That would surely make whatever mission that Whis gave you easier to achieve. Still, you couldn’t deny the tension as if you screw up then you’re toast. And not just that but what about Akai? Nobody else knows she’s here and might do something stupid like mounting a rescue. All the more reason why you couldn’t fail. Running away was not an option.

Shaking your head and making a soft smile you look up to Chinese amazon. “Thank you for your concern Lady Annin but I have to respectfully decline your offer to turn back.”

“Are you sure about this? Think carefully now. There’s no shame in turning back when failure is all but guaranteed.”
>>
>>4190105

“No, I won’t take back what I said. Even if my life or very existence comes into risk I’ll still do it. When a man gives a promise he always tries to make sure he keeps it. If I want to be a true adventurer I can’t let the fear of death weight me down. And besides, sooner or later that fire will get worse and who knows what damage it’ll inflict on the planet. All the more reason why I should do this.” You adamantly hold your ground as you fold your arms. Your stubborn refusal to give up ends up making Annin speechless in the process. “Besides, it hasn’t been decided yet. So don’t go thinking I’ve already lost.”

“I don’t know if I should call this impressive display valorous or reckless. Gallantry might be more accurate though given your politeness.” Annin retorts, almost chuckling at your bravado.

“Either way, with a plucky attitude and can-do spirit maybe you’ll be able to do this after all. So tell me, which method do you choose?”

“The phoenix. If I’m going to do this then I might as well go all the way. Besides, I’ve read in a book that phoenix is naturally immune to fire. So if I can have that kind of resistance at least then I’ll be able to finish the task at hand with no mistakes.“

“Well, I won’t deny and say that isn’t a smart idea. Let’s just hope the immortal phoenix can be moved by your rationality and pure nature. It’ll be a real shame to lose someone like you.” Annin starts to lead you out of the library, having gotten what she was looking for during your conversation. Following right behind her, you soon find yourself traveling to a breathtakingly well-made shrine. At the center of the shrine lies a rather large vermilion colored egg, the size of a full-grown adult.

“Here we are. The immortal phoenix sleeps here. And live here too….it rarely comes out of its shell. I think being traumatized by its death has left the phoenix a complete shut-in. The fact that it refused to reincarnate back into the spot it dies shows how much the phoenix has grown in cowardice thanks to its trauma. “ Annin explains while checking below to see that the offerings to it were already cleaned. Showing her that the bird has eaten this time instead of being an empty mope. The word NEET immediately comes to mind.

“Strangely I can relate to such a thing. For someone whose immortality comes from the samsara method, I can understand why it would end up like this. Dying isn’t fun and when it dies in a way that it brings great agony and/or sorrowful regret it can only make the experience all the more terrifying.” You reflect as you place your hand on the egg. Momentarily thinking about your own experience both with death and the feeling of isolation as well as the loneliness that comes with it. “All it needs is someone it can talk to, someone who can understand what it’s going through to help it get the courage to want to live again.”

“Wise words. You might not be aware of your heritage as a Shinjin, but you certainly still have their wisdom.” Annin nods, slowly backing away to give you and the bird some space. “Now then I leave the rest to you.”

Upon feeling your presence the egg starts to wobble and shake in response to your hand touching the thick and smooth surface. Immediately you could feel the pulsation of life coming from the egg, signaling you that the Immortal Phoenix was still active. It was like Annin said, the bird was trembling underneath over returning to the physical plane and being fully alive once again. Hence it was in a strange state where it wasn’t fully dead but not fully alive either. Before you have time to examine it further the egg starts to emit a strong, intense vibration in an attempt to repeal you from touching the egg.

Seeing it’s distraught you merely make a small smile in light of being stricken from the sudden jolt from the egg. “Hey. It’s alright, you don’t have to be afraid. I’m not going to harm you,” You say, trying to put the bird at ease with a soothing voice.

Words of encouragement were all the Immortal Phoenix could hear as you attempt to appeal to its mortality and conscience. Well, to be more accurate it was listening to your heart’s voice rather than any noise coming outside which luckily was dead silent. Through a well-timed montage, the Immortal Phoenix effectively experiences your entire life, both as Yuu Tatsumaki and Okazu Ryoma in a timely manner. Leaving you none the wiser as you experience the full brunt of the bird’s sorrow and grief. It was enough to move you to tears even if it was a little overly dramatic. The sheer act of betrayal was the primary reason that made the beast be so distant and cold, an oxymoron considering what it supposes to represent.

Nevertheless, the mystical firebird starts to break down in tears as it finds a kindred spirit in you. You, on the other hand, continue to keep your hand close on the egg, slowly moving towards hugging it in further reassurance and sympathy. Your earnest sincerity was enough to melt the ice on the once frozen tundra that it called its heart. Cracks start to form around the egg as it peels away to reveal a single amber-gold eye. Tears were still pouring from the single eye as it stares deeply into your baby blue eyes. Staring right back you feel a strong bond forming from the mythical beast. All manner of remaining doubt and hesitation went away in a flash as you offer your hand to the bird.

“Come on, it’s safe. You don’t need to coop yourself in that egg anymore.” You once again give the go too for the bird as it starts to look at you with sparkling eyes.
Intrigued by this predicament, Annin comes back with a bowl of noodles in her hand. “Well, I’d be. I’ve seen a lot of things in my tens of thousands of years but not once have I seen the immortal bird actually develop a schoolgirl crush. You really are an interesting fellow.” Annin smiles, giving words of acknowledgment in between eating her noodles.

“You think so? All I did was try and give it some therapeutic practice-” Before you could finish the Immortal Bird let out tremendous vermillion colored flames from the crack. Quickly the stream of flames quickly develops around you before sinking into your very being. The Immortal Phoenix didn’t how anything back with its passionate flames, overloading you with the overabundant quantity of life-force needed to establish the pack between it and you in order to receive its blessings. As a result, your body instantly went into spontaneous combustion as the flames swallowed you whole. In mere seconds, you were rendered a pile of ashes from the excessive bundle of flames flowing inside of you as the only thing left was a blue orb.

“...Spoke too soon.” Annin remark, momentarily losing her desire to eat more of her spicy noodles before breaking the silence with a loud slurping sound.

All of it happened in a flash as you didn’t even realize that you died at all. Luckily your materials were all back at home aside from your outfit. As if you needed your capsules or any valuables outside of your clothing to embark on a trip into the furnace. That was just asking for divine comedy to come in and destroy them. Speaking of which you feel the flames that tried to engulf you starting to recede and compress itself through your body. As if being molded by your will, the flames reconstruct itself around the blue orb as it begins to hover. The overabundant flames were soon contained in a vessel capable of holding such powerful vermillion flames. All of which happens within a blink of an eye, just like how you died.

Opening your eyes slowly you feel your body currently squatting on the polish tiles. Left in nothing but your birthday suit you casually move your eyes around. The last thing you recall was a blinding light before being surrounded in darkness. Afterward, another bright light resembling that of the sun followed by a flying longma taking off towards your direction. Before the mythical beast could make contact your conscious came too. After seeing yourself back in the real world, you pull yourself up dramatically before casually walking to Annin. A serious deadpan expression brushes across your face upon reaching her.

“Your clothing, give them to me.” You demand, speaking rather gritty and deep like a hard-boiled action star.

“Phrasing.”Annin bluntly blurs out, still keeping her face glue to her noodles “Also wrong work of fiction.”

“Ah, right I don’t know what came over me. What I mean is that can I get some new clothing. Preferably close to what I was wearing previously or something more of my style.”

As you exchange banter with Annin and wait patiently for her to use what you sensed was the same magic that materializes things out of thin air but far more refined, there was another presence around you. Out from the giant egg stood a vermillion colored teenaged girl with rapunzel-like hair covering her conveniently currently looking around in a daze. Two beautiful feathered wings spread itself in a wide arc fashion. Sheepishly looking far and wide, she would find her target just inches from getting clothed. Immediately without warning the mysterious lass quickly glide over in an attempt to tackle you as she makes a loud kyaa sound.

Turning to see what made the sound you were met with a boisterous sight. Coming to your range was a rather shapely yet spunky ginger girl. Fully exposed in the open was her milky white skin, smooth as an egg, and silk-like vermillion hair though more on the orange side. In any other situation, you would feel incline to defend yourself accordingly from a naked girl about to tackle you. Especially considering your current predicament, but for some reason, this unknown maiden was familiar to you. Mostly in the sense that you feel a kinship with her and that quickly put your mind at ease.

Carefully with the utmost care, you time your movements accordingly with great precision and accuracy. Stretching your arms out at the right angle you manage to catch the springy girl in a proper tackle. With your legs firmly sat against the ground you kept yourself flying off as she carried a lot of force and momentum in her movement. However, with the abrupt tackle, it was still enough to cause you to tumble towards the ground. In one singular motion, you find yourself lying against your back while the redhead continues to let out a joyful giggle. Barely were you able to let out a soft, yet smooth greeting as the redhead nuzzles you affectionally.

More importantly, you kept your mentionable from touching or at least you believed you did. But looking down you would see that the girl was strangely like you. Either she was capable of retracting her reproduction organs or she didn’t initially have them. At least it was convenient in keeping your purity. Those thoughts however quickly went away once you look back at the gingery girl. Seeing her currently smiling giddily at you made you have a moment of clarity.
There were many tells but the schoolgirl crush was the final piece needed to solve the conundrum.

“This strange girl, I take it is actually more than she appears.” You ask, looking up to Annin while keeping your mind from wandering elsewhere.

“That’s right, that’s the Immortal Phoenix. Though for some reason when it imprinted its powers on you it also imprinted your innate abilities on to it. Hence the shapeshifting ability. Normally, it’s around three to four meters, but it can easily alter its size. Otherwise, it’ll be a constant attraction with it’s true, massive size when fully matured. Despite its cute appearance, it’s quite crafty and resourceful. And that’s not including its mystical vermillion flames, the manifesting source of its restoration and purification powers. It’s normal phlegmatic to everything but the things that earn its strong, fiery passion. However, it can be temperamental when pushed.” Annin nods, giving the rundown to the mythical bird as if she was its parent.
>>
>>4191224

“Sounds like quite the firecracker. Putting that aside, I’d have to ask some questions. Firstly, what just happened exactly? Secondly, did I receive the blessing? Thirdly, if I did then what am I suppose to do next to fix the furnace? Fourthly, what do you mean by imprinting? And finally, can we be both get some clothing? I have more questions to ask but I want to get the big ones out of the way before tackling the task at hand. And I really want some clothes.” You exclaim, fighting the urge to let hormones get the better of you and succumb to a tired old trope in your eyes. You were better than that.

“Sounds fair. Tell you what, after you finish the job I’ll be willing to answer any question you have.”Right as she says that Annin points her finger at the both of you. In an instant you find yourselves wearing proper clothing befitting to each of your general tastes. And with exceptional levels of tailors upon taking note of the fine craft. “Right now I’ll answer the first set of questions in summary.”

“First, you essentially combusted and burnt yourself to a crisp cause your body couldn’t handle the phoenix powers. At least not until it could adapt and reconstruct itself into a vessel capable of the job. Although that was far more than the simple ritual that mythical bird generally bestowal. The general person has eternal life or semi-immortality as they can be vanquished by unnatural causes. In exchange, the phoenix is the one that can bring someone back if their bonds with the said individual are strong enough for the bird to bestowal it’s innate resurrection powers towards its immortality. But in your case, you manage to exceed the normal and been truly blessed by the creature. As the two of you now have an inseparable life-link between the two of you.”

That’s what you were afraid of. To your dismay, you ended up dead on the second or third day of your adventure. Silver lining shows that the Immortal Phoenix’s powers were the real deal. You didn’t even appear in the afterlife or Other World as they call it. Before you have time to really question the potency and limitation of your immortality another concern quickly brew in your mind. “Inseparable life link? That almost sounds like the red string of fate folktale.”
>>
>>4191233

“I’ll go over the details fully later but just think of it as having the full package with a very charitable bonus. Lastly, what I need you to do is go directly into the furnace with these tools. Shells from a fire eater known as the Hikui Bird and special honey made from Mount Frappe. These two special components are what allows one to make the proper repairs on the furnace without said materials burning in the process. With that and the phoenix’s blessing, I’m going to lift the pot to allow access into the furnace while dampening the flames just a bit. You’ll have to jump in and make the repairs. But be careful, it’s the size of a mountain down there so it could take a while.”

“I think I understand...and really grasp just how dangerous this mission is. But before I go do what needs to be done...what exactly is the Immortal phoenix name? I can’t keep calling...her that now can I?” You ask, turning back to look at the ginger as she was now wearing a fine toga and well-crafted bracers among other jewelry.

“I’m afraid it doesn’t have a name.“ Annin reflects, turning her attention to her special made Champon ramen dish. A soft smile begins to form as she turns back to you. “How about the name Champoo?”

“Don’t tell me you want to name her after your noodles?” You criticized, feeling rather bad for the phoenix who just cheerfully made a bird cry instead. Clearly it hasn’t learned the human tongue yet.

“Who do you take me for? There’s more than one reason for the name.” Annin interjects, staring disapprovingly at being considered lazy. She follows up by slurping her noodles menacingly to which you were rather impressed at the act if nothing else.

The fact you’re not denying that really says a lot about you as a character. Closing your eyes and letting out a sigh you begin to humor the guardian deity. “Okay, then what’re the different meanings.”

“Well for one it can be twisted around to mean Shampoo, but it can also mean the mixture of two or more things when taking the word Chanpurū, from Chanpū. Just like the connection between you and the Immortal Phoenix. Although it can also mean stir fry or improvision. Either way, I think it’s cute for our little firey friend.” Annin explains, furthering your suspicion that this world is positively bonkers for not questioning such bizarre names. But you did start to understand that some serious thought was put into this.

“I’m not going to argue with a deity over the name. I’m not one to talk with mine.” You lament as you sweat awkwardly at the name Okazu Ryoma.
>>
>>4191244

“Then it’s settled.” Annin claps her chopsticks happily, replicating the sounds of an approving clap with her utensils. “Now back to pressing manners. Although it wasn’t what anyone intended, you still have been blessed by the Immortal Phoenix--Ahem I mean Champoo. So you should either be fireproof or at least have its regenerative powers to heal faster than the fire can damage you. Theoretically.” Annin pauses, sweating a bit as she adverts her gaze from your eyes.

>Shinsōsa (Body Manipulation) unlocked

Being given that word of confidence made you all but reassured of one single thing. That you shouldn’t overly depend on those recovery powers. There was still a lot you didn’t know about the immortal phoenix’s “immortality”. Like if it made you incapable of feeling pain or just given a greater resistance to it. There were simply too many unknown variables to feel comfortable in trusting to do the job without any casualties. Not that it would be permanent if you truly have been blessed by Champoo. Still, why should you throw away your common sense and not try to tackle this problem like a scientist?

Using your transformation arts you begin to morph and reshape your body in quick fashion. On the surface, your physical form remains the same but around the exterior was far different as you encase yourself into a thick, multilayered exoskeleton. Giving you a jade statue-like appearance in truth it was composed of regenerative porous minerals, stacked together for additional protection while allowing for high pressured air to form as another thick layer of defense. Most noticeably was the fact despite being clad in various minerals in this impressive suit of armor it didn’t restrain your mobility, agility, and flexibility.

After putting your big brain to good use did you start to embark with the tools given to you by Annin. Using her colossal giant form it was easy for her to transport you from the ground towards the rail of the furnace. Being near the scorching steams alerted you immediately just how intense the humidity of the furnace truly was. If the steam alone could exceed any volcano documented then the raging inferno might as well be on par if not greater than the heat of the earth’s core. Being around such flames made you hesitate but only for a moment. In the face of danger, you were willing to believe in both your intelligence and Champoo’s blessing.

Once given the signal to Annin that you were ready she started to raise the giant pot. Made of Katchintite material much like the furnace itself made the pot exceptionally heavy. Even so, Annin shows her mettle as the guardian by bench pressing the pot by the handles. Lifting with her legs now firmly pressed against the ground, cracks start to form. Annin let out a troubling sigh at having to once again fix her floors once this was all over. Nevertheless, she would keep the pot above the flame for as long as needed while keeping any evil spirits from escaping. Seeing this you force yourself into the furnace with a single jump. There was no turning back.
>>
>>4192933

Diving down the flames forces you to endure the intense, blazing heat and smothering flames. As expected with your fine crafted suit of armor was put to the test as it endures the flames. Luckily the exoskeleton was spread out far enough from your skin for you to actually feel the burn. Still, the hot heat did a number on your respiration system even with the armor protecting you from the heat. This was not something you could take lightly.

After falling for what seemed like forever you finally made your way to the bottom of the furnace. Through the trip the armor was stress pressed constantly from the intense heat. Having to adapt to it through a constant cycle of destruction and reconstruction at quick-paced speed. Good enough for you to travel through did you embark your way through the furnace. Trusting your gut’s intuition leads to you finding a hole, just as Annin describes. Quickly you pull out the necessary tools to begin work on the repair. Octagon shaped firebird shells and octagon honeycomb bee’s honey, both of these two components manage to work in perfect union in filling the hole and patching things up perfectly.

But even though you fixed the hole, you can’t help but still feel uneasy.

You weren’t sure what exactly was causing this unnerving sensation but you are aware that it was here. It’s a strong presence, rattling your bones to the core with its icy chill. Honestly, you never felt something so dark, so menacing and ferocious in your entire life. As if it was evil incarnate. When you put it like that it wasn’t too off to say that such a presence would linger around like bad odder. Countless souls both good and evil have passed through these flames to the Other World and vice versa. After all, every force has an echo. It’s that duality that is the basics for concepts such as the cause and effect or religious ones like karma and yin and yang.

Therefore, it was possible that in all of its years of serving as the bridge between the two planes of existence that it would collect the residue of both positive and negative soul energy. Maybe it was due to the fact you died once or your Shinjin heritage, but somehow you were more acute and in tune with the duality of all things, hence your strong sensitivity towards the lingering negative energy circulating around in the furnace. Clearly, the dampen flames was weakening these flames in some way if it couldn’t fully purify and purge the negative energy like how one purifies water. Of course, this was all merely speculation as you walk around the furnace.

In any case, you wouldn’t feel at ease until you do a full search of the strange presence. So you refrain from leaving the furnace as you start to double-check if there were any other holes that need patching. With the supplies in hand, you feel confident in filling in any and all extra holes around. And on the chance of running out, you could make more of the materials now having spent enough time studying them through your heightened extrasensory perception. It’s hard for you to explain but when it comes to matter and energy you possess an intuitive aptitude. Just making contact with something generally gives you its inherent structure and properties. Be it atomic or molecular, the particular makeup of a material and/or substance, including the flow and balance of potential and kinetic energy within was in your grasps to analyze and interpret.

Even before you walked down the path of science, your intuition and natural instincts carry the knowledge to perform such a manner. On a scientific level, it explains how on many accidents how you sometimes alter and blend structures/compositions as a child before it eventually evolved as you got older. Comprehension, deconstruction, and reconstruction, those were the three that best describe your supernatural phenomenons. It’ll be easier to believe that magic was chaotic and operated on its whim. But to do that would be denying the laws that govern the matrix that magic operates.

Again, you were rather fortunate to be given a background and education that best works with your gifts. But no amount of gifts or aptitude could make up for hard work. So diligently you traverse through every nook and cranny of the furnace. In the back of your head, you feel bad about making Annin hold the furnace for however long it takes to complete your job. It was a necessary evil, making you take this job even more seriously as you observe. Each hole you found you went through the necessary steps to carefully patch up and repair the area. If nothing else you were assiduous and attentive as you thoroughly did your job with tenacious perseverance.

Eventually, after finishing patching up the last hole you could find, you left out a sigh of relief. In the meantime, your armor adapted to the point of being able to fully withstand the heat of the raging inferno. Which was good as you feel the temperature starting to rise now that it was no longer leaking any unnecessary flames into the opening. Still, before you can find yourself willing to go back up to the surface there was still one more job you needed to do. Thus you start to move quickly towards the source of the negative energy still lingering in the furnace. Arriving back at the center of the furnace you found yourself staring at what appears to be a dark reddish-purple orb.

It constantly pulsates as it gives off the same strange energy you been feeling throughout your trip. It seems while you were patching things up the traces of negative energy converged into a singular point and cultivate itself into this densely compact orb. As you go to get a better look the orb starts to vibrate wildly. Like a jittering bolt of energy, the orb sprung itself to life as it morphs itself into a silhouette of a massive brutish djinn like spirit with demonlike traits. Just as quickly as it appears it swiftly tries to envelop you into its very being. Caught off guard by the creature you feel everything beginning to go pitch black as darkness once again greets you.

Shooting out from your body was a vermillion light that turns pure white. Taking the form of a gigantic firebird it quickly expells the malicious entity from your body. Restoring you back to form as the massive negative energy quivers against the blinding light of the purifying embodiment of positive energy. Engulfing the negative energy before it can escape, it clashes vigorously against the force, containing it into a thick bubble-like sphere. The force pushes you aside to avoid being contained as the sphere begins to shrink.
>>
>>4193290

Before your very eyes, you were met with a spectacle as the purifying white flames smothered the maroonish surges of malice. Tries it may it was kept firmly at bay by the energy as it all but completely dominates the lingering will. Somehow it seems that blessing really did come in handy. Or it was something else inside of you than even you didn’t know what you have as there were traces of a golden tinge on the white flames. Either way, you continue to watch as the battle soon came to an abrupt end. Soon all that was left was the orb itself, no longer holding a trace of evil or malice in its structure. But there was still a strong sense of ferocity and force as it intensely but tranquility remain calmly still. Looking around there was no trace of any lingering negativity in the furnace as it was completely purified. Leaving only the orb floating in front of you.

>Path of the Demon EX

Moving closely towards the orb you inspect it for a bit. There was still no evil lurking from the floating object. Yet it was still dangerous given its strong, pulsing, flame-like aura. Reaching for the orb, it safely floats in your hands. Before your mind even register the folly of your actions you quickly shove the orb directly into your chest. Without resistance the orb starts merging with your body, sinking inside like quicksand. As it recedes into you, you feel the excess energy coursing through the orb dimming before becoming completely inactive. You weren’t sure what drove you to do what you did but it was too late to take it back.

For now, you didn’t feel any different nor sense the orb was active. It is as if residing into your very beginning was the last piece needed to keep it in a state of tranquility and silence. After the fusion, your eyes turn around to look at what lies to the center. From the upper left, an arrow starts to point, drawing your attention towards what appears to be a golden pathway. With the negative energy completely gone it was much easier for you to see the pathway. On the other end of the path was a glowing entrance resembling the light of the end of a long tunnel. That familiar feeling came to you once again as you set your eyes upon it. Again, it seems like your gut feeling was taking direct control of your choices.

“Hey, Annin!” You call up to the guardian deity from the bottom of the furnace You voice traveling upwards in a boom as it was coming audibly clear for her.

“Oh good, you’re still around. I thought for a moment that the flames certainly vanquished you since I couldn’t feel your presence through ki sense.” Annin exclaims happily while still holding up the pot. The sweat on her body shows that she was doing it for a very long time as one could compare it as holding the entire world on your shoulders.

“Ki sensing?” You blinked in confusion. Just what exactly is this ki? Was it just like magic or something entirely? Before you lost track in your thoughts you shook your head and turn back to call out to Annin again. “Anyway, I finished patching up the furnace. There are no more holes or cracks around so it should be back operating at the optimized performance.”

“Really?! That’s great news. I feel all the happier that I put my faith in you and taking this gamble. Now hold still and I’ll pull you out of the furnace.”

“Anyway, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m going to go check it out. Sorry but I’m going to see what’s on the other side.”

“Okay sure.” As she says this Annin starts to shift her eyes upward while mumbling about the light at the end of the tunnel. It quickly dawns upon her what that light was as she starts panicking upon the realization. “Now hold on. You shouldn’t go through that light to escape from the furnace.”

“Also there’s a girl with dark green hair on the mountain. Her name is Akai Tomata. She’s my travel partner and I was hoping you can bring her here for safekeeping. I don’t know how long I’ll be on the other side but I don’t want her getting worried about me.”

“I don’t see a problem in bringing here but listen to me Okazu. You shouldn’t go through that portal. It leads to the afterlife and-” Before Annin could finish explaining you quickly cut her off.

“Thanks, take care I’ll be back soon.” With that, you quickly make your way into the bright light before Annin has the chance to reach for you.

“Wait!” Annin cries but to no avail as you were already gone. Leaving the poor guardian to hold her pot in disbelief she quickly sets it down before collapsing to the floor. Not out of lack of stamina but out of sheer discombobulation. “...Well, I’m sure it’ll be fine. He is half shinjin. That should make up for the fact mortals traveling into Otherworld is a complex manner that is rarely done.”

Traversing through the bright golden light leads you into a strange, new world. A clear, purple sky above and nothing but golden clouds covering what should be the ground. An endless cloud field with the only indication of the solid ground being a jade bridge with red outlines. On that bridge was what appears to be balls of energy traveling in a single file line. There appear to be what look like ogres currently in salesman clothing standing on the clouds, directing those sentient balls into a ginormous Japanese castle. Not wanting to get left behind you start to walk on the bridge and enter inside the castle.

Being around Otherworld for as corny as the statement sounds is simply out of this world. The ambiance, the scenery, even the aura in the air was a whole another level compared to that back home on Earth. There was no mistaking it that you were currently in the afterlife. To be perfectly honest you thought the next time you would come here would be an elderly man who died of natural causes. Not unlike your previous life where you died for a noble but also seemingly unnecessary cause. Thinking about it now made you feel all the more embarrassed with yourself. Even so, you quickly bounce back upon returning to admire the serenity of Other World. Somehow you knew that this place feels just right for you.
Having all the time in the world you kept to an orderly fashion while following what you assume was spirits through the jade bridge. If this really was the afterlife then you have no business in acting rude and cutting in line or any other disruptive conduct. The fact you came here alive is a strong consideration for an offense. Of which you merely bet on your shinjin nature abet half-breed and the fact you died once to be a good enough pass. That and you did essentially helped out a highly respected member of the afterworld hierarchy with a looming crisis. Surely they would let it slide that you took the initiative and follow the mystical flow’s feeling towards Other World. After all, you’re still a teenager.

Following the line respectively led you towards what appears to be the check-in station. From what you talked about with the spirits, who were actually quite friendly, is the final gateway between the physical plane of existence and the Other World. The furnace acts as a guiding point and the first step to making it past the border that otherwise separates the two, like a giant double door gate. Each world has its own check-in station and this was the Earth’s. You learn this tidbit of information among many others from the helpful ogres who were explaining the entire process to the spirits. Among the horizon was King Yemma’s palace where he judges the decease to send them to their respective area. Heaven or Hell.

Out of curiosity and general concern you continue your travel towards the check-in station. Upon arrival, you quickly took to being awestruck by the structure of the palace. It was a little amusing knowing that inside that it was all formal and business-like but still resembling that of general office desk workplace. Considering how many souls that need to be judge and the overall importance of the afterlife, it was a highly expected outcome. Be that as it may, what stands out in front of you was a colossal desk made of what you assume was mahogany. Sitting on the desk was the equally ginormously red-skinned ogre, dressed in a fine purple business suit, holding appears to be a notebook and a pencil. Seem like deities are all giants apparently.
>>
>>4194927

“Alright, send the next one in.” The red-skinned ogre requests, alerting you from his charmed, refined yet deep voice that this must be King Yemma himself.

Seeing that there was no one else in front you made your way towards the office. “Hello, sorry for the abrupt appearance but my name is Okazu Ryoma.”

Staring on his notebook and turning the page, King Yemma speeds through looking for such a person. “Hmm, let’s see. It doesn’t show that anyone going by the name is currently deceased. You better not be trying to decease me-” Before he could finish he quickly looks down to see a living mortal currently giving a pleasant although laid-back greeting and smile. His stern stare quickly melted as it quickly turns to surprise. “Oh! A Shinjin?! I didn’t expect one of you to come and make a visit. Normally you’d be on your homeworld, Kaishin or one of the other planets as a Kai. To what the pleasure I can do for you.” The great King Yemma almost stumbled as he begins addressing you with a far more formal approach than the business-like pleasantry. It seems the Shinjin was particularly special around Other World.

As the King looks at you closely his astonished expression quickly sharpens.“Wait, hold on.” The king pauses you from speaking as he starts to flip through the pages in his datebook until he suddenly smiles. “Aha, now I see. Okazu Ryoma was it. The rare half-Shinjin hybrid. It still a mystery how you came to be. Shinjins are typically born from a gigantic magic world tree called the Kaiju, like how one grows fruits. Though it is possible for reproduction as they are hermaphrodites that can swing to either side of the pendulum based on how they view themselves, they usually use asexual means through magic if they don’t want to wait for the Kaiju to produce another Shinjin. Again it’s a real rarity given their vastly long lives and strong policies over dealing with overpopulation.“

Listening to him essentially gives you the rundown on Shinjins made you really appreciate the choice given to you by Whis. But you couldn’t help but wonder if such an unusual and important race should be given out so willy-nilly. “Um, Mr. King Yemma.” You called out, trying to get his attention as you somehow ended up receiving a long lecture on everything about your race while listening to the king’s theories. One of which just sounded preposterous was the reincarnation of a kai. But that was seemingly impossible as all Kais generally return to the Kaiju to begin life again. Or so it would seem.
>>
>>4194928

Realizing that he spent far too long on the topic, King Yemma gave a light apologetic bow as he turns back to you. “Ah! I’m getting off-topic trying to piece together your strange origin and not focusing on here and now. Tell me, why have you come to this world? Although you’re half-shinjin you’re still a mortal and mortals don’t usually come here until they’re dead. “

A tough question right off the back as King Yemma focuses his full attention upon you. Given that he was a deity himself then it must mean that he must have some sort of special power like telepathy or some form of mystic lie detection. Not that you would try and deceive him, but it was still something to take note. It was hard to say if any of them was omnipotent but better safe than sorry. Anything less than a passionate, genuine answer may end up shooting you down. Looking back to the dragon ball in your pocket, the only thing that remained from your old gear, you turn your attention back to King Yemma. Meeting his look with a soft, laid back smile, the answer already appears.

“Semi-immortal right now, actually.” You point out, seemingly materializing a feather of the Immortal Phoenix from your fingertips. Proving your claim to the ogres before it disappears back to where it belongs. “Anyways, I wanted to let you know that Earth's furnace is fully repaired. So you don’t need to send anyone else to help Lady Annin. And I was pretty curious about the other half of my heritage, thought I'd give the 'family' a hello, see how things are doing out here. Maybe learn things that mortals could hardly believe.”

“Oh, and before I forget, if it's cool if we leave a Dragonball here? My friend is collecting them but so are some bad men and I think for the time being its best to put it somewhere that nobody else can reach it.” You reach out from your pocket to show King Yemma the mystic orange orb as he carefully picks it with his two giant fingers.

“An honest, simple answer. I like that.” King Yemma smiles, stroking his beard while looking at the dragon ball. “Very well, I suppose I can keep this item in my desk drawer for the time being. This table exists in its own dimensional space so nobody else while being able to get to it.”

“Awesome! Thank you so much King Yemma.” You smile, almost jumping excitedly as you watch him put the object into his desk drawer. “And what about my other request to learn about my heritage, the outer world and anything else that could be helpful for my journey?”

“Well, you did do us a great job fixing the furnace for no reward. Not to mention you did manage to get the Immortal Phoenix to accept you to link its very existence with yours thus achieving true semi-immortality instead of external life.” King Yemma ponders, flipping his book to look at possible candidates that could help you on your journey.

“We call her Champoo now.”
>>
>>4196397

“Ah, so it has an actual name now. That’s a first. Anyway, seeing that you’re still a shinjin, and one with a pure heart like your brethren despite being half-human. You have certainly been a role model mortal given your service record. Hmm, alright I suppose I can fulfill your request. You do have good manners after all.”

“Ah! Thank you once again, King Yemma.” You bow, showing respect to the King of the Ogres as King Yemma nods back in approval.

Flipping through his notes King Yemma soon makes a satisfied smirk at his options. “Now then the closest person that can teach you about your heritage is the Kai of the Northern Quadrant. King Kai, overseer of the same galaxy that Earth is in and its respective guardians. However, he lives on the end of the pathway called Snake’s way. It’s a perilous journey that’ll take roughly six months of straight running to reach the end. It’s a million kilometers after all.” As King Yemma explains, he shows you both a clear image of Snake Way and King Kai’s planet through the use of a monitor.

“A-A Millilion?!?!” You cry, nearly dropping your jaw and bulging your eyes in a comedic fashion.

“Yes, it’s a dangerous and strenuous ordeal that only the most committed can overcome. Why only a handful of people actually made the trip, myself included. So I’ll give you some advice if you were to take the trip, be careful to stay on the path. If you try to jump your way the gravity will hamper your movements, letting the hands of the departed pull you straight into hell. Not even with ki will you be able to fly as only the Hikou is capable of flying movement. But even that has its limits.”King Yemma explains, pointing at the clouds as you faintly see the very same hands lurking on the path down snake way.

“Alternatively I can send for an escort to take you to see King Kai. But that will also take some time. The Other World is a busy place and not everyone can drop their duties on a dime of a hat even with Kai Kai making the trip a piece of cake.”

“Kai Kai? What’s that? Is it some sort of magic trick that closes the distances?” You question, tilting your head in confusion.
>>
>>4196401

“Something like that, it’s a special form of instantaneous movement or teleportation as you would call it. Us deities, including the guardians and special offworlders, use this technique to travel throughout Other World instantaneously no matter how far or wide. It’s a highly difficult technique to learn, it requires one to have refined ki control to be able to use it properly without issue. Closest I’d say that someone else managed to reach Kai Kai would be the Yardratian’s Instant Transmission, one of their many ki based abilities born from Spirit Control.”

"Wow, so there's someone else out there who has their own form of teleportation? This universe really is something."

“Normally I’d send you there myself but as you see with the line here it’s best not to invite any tomfoolery while I’m away. An instant is all that it takes for something bad to happen. Still, I think I might have someone who could take you on your journey. But I’d have to get into contact with her. She’s a busy grim reaper after all. Her name is Trampire, she frequently hangs out in penguin village.”

“Thank you for everything you did for me so far. I wouldn’t want trouble you further by asking if you could take me yourself or try to run down snake way myself to get there. I’m still only a teenager, after all, especially one who spent the majority of his life working on his brains and supernatural abilities. “ You reflect, turning your attention back to the direction where you came from. Softly making a light-hearted and cheerful smile. “For someone like me, the best course of action would be to wait for Ms. Trampire to come to me directly.”

“Glad you see it my way, Mr. Ryoma. I’m sure King Kai will be more than willing to see you and teach you everything you need to know as a Shinjin. Though, between you and me I personally would use this chance to strengthen your body for the trip. Its gravity is easily ten times that of earth. Being both half-Shinjin and blessed by Champoo may allow you to survive the experience without any serious injuries, but you’ll be far too weighted down to do anything at your current level.” As King Yemma explains, he starts to open his draw again to pull what appears to be a golden fruit. Drawing your full attention as you awaited to hear what explanation he has for the mystical object.

“It’s the Ensenji, it’s a fruit that restores one’s health and physical form. In addition to also restoring one’s energy and physical might, it can double them. Along with the added bonus of preventing them from losing any stamina or needing sleep or nourishment for three months straight. I got an abundance of these little things so giving you one for your preparation for King Kai is far more important. Wouldn’t want you collapsing from gravity once you get there.” King Yemma hands you the fruit in between explaining its purpose and function.

Taking the fruit you quickly put it into a bag that you materialized through your magic for safekeeping. “Thanks for the gift King Yemma. Before I go, I’ve got to ask you something. Do you know anyone either on Earth or in Otherworld that can teach me about this Ki stuff? I’m more of a mana user but I won’t turn down learning all I can about it to better my skills and learn this Kai Kai you guys called it.”

“There are countless people on Earth who can teach you about Ki. But the most prodigious of them I’d say would be Master Roshi, Master Shen, King Chappa, and the galactic patrol officer Zarid for humans. Those who carry the rank of guardians such as Annin, Kami, and Korin are all martial arts masters who are well inversed in everything there is to know about Ki on Earth. As for those who are dead, you would have to get Fortuneteller Baba to teach you her special teleportation spell to allow you to summon the dead. I can only give you the contract to allow you to perform the act, but do know those that are summoned can only remain on the world of the living for a full twenty-four hours. No more, no less.”
>>
>>4198335

“Well, that’s certainly useful to know. Maybe I’ll do just that. Thing is, I don’t know who from among the dead would help me. Maybe someone who knows whatever this spirit control is?” You remark, awkwardly laughing at your ignorance.

“Among the dead, I can only recommend Master Mutaito from the top of my head. But getting in touch will him will take additional time to contact alongside the request of getting King Kai. Time that I would imagine putting to training with those who are closer within your reach.” King Yemma says, subtly hinting at a certain someone right at your backdoor who could take the job.

Quickly taking the hint you begin to excuse yourself with a bow. “Yeah, you’re right. Rather than look for any of the people that you suggest, I should instead use this time to train with Lady Annin instead. Thanks for the advice, King Yemma.”

After taking the necessary directional guidance from one of the Ogres you found yourself taking a special path to a shortcut back to the world of the living. For added assistance, the ogre provided you with a Flying Nimbus, a magical cloud that can transport people from place to place much like an airplane but faster and freer. Unlike the ones on earth, the Otherworld Nimbus can change itself to suit the rider, with its golden shade being for people pure of heart to dark purple for impure folks, this form is known as the Dark Nimbus. According to the Ogres, this special version allows one to travel between planes much like the furnace’s steam. With these two factors, you easily made your way back into the furnace of eight divisions.

Making your way out of the furnace led you suddenly staring face to face with an upset Annin. Red as a tomato, Annin abruptly lectures you about the entire fiasco and how she was far too nice for her own good to return holding the pot once she realized you didn’t know the way back. Seeing the Otherwordly Nimbus reassured Annin long enough to hear your explanation. That and your frequent apologies for your impulsive action. In the end, Annin agrees to your request of teaching you, particularly ki being the main focus. In exchange, you were to cook for Annin during the entire session. For someone who didn’t need to sustain herself, it left you baffled trying to figure Annin out.

Nevertheless, you begin your training in earnest. Respecting your request Annin had her attendant and protector of the spirit furnace, Son Gohan take Akai into the castle while she remains to hold up the furnace pot. To your surprised, the cheery old man was a world-class martial arts master and also learned from Master Roshi. In comparison, Annin held tens of thousands of years of knowledge, including the martial arts. Leaving you in good hands, though considering the backbreaking hellish training, reasonable you ended up second-guessing if they were going to kill you instead.
>>
>>4198339

In terms of physical conditioning and the hand to hand portion of martial arts, you fumbled immensely during the process. Being of an average explorer you held next to no sense, skill or talent. Deep down you were a scholar, not a warrior. So tackling this was completely out of your field of expertise, but you refused to give up, much to the two grandmaster’s surprise and approval. Though even with all your effort, in the time frame that you have you only manage to make yourself from pitifully terrible to mediocre if barely average. More training would surely remedy this but its made clear to you that you rely on your wits and finesse than brute force.

Be it training hand to hand or weapon skills, the results were all the same. Master Gohan was exceptionally frightening with his bare hands as he mostly took over unarmed combat, meanwhile, Annin handles the armed combat with her Seiryū Engetsutō otherwise called the Green Dragon’s Cresent Blade. Just as equally if not better skilled, you were met with a fluid ferocity like no other. Unlike Son Gohan, Annin didn’t hold back using lethal force with her strikes. She added on since that you’re semi-immortal that any of her inflicted injuries weren’t permanent. And it was more important to polish your battle sense and survivability through life and death experiences.

When it came to learning about Ki however you were a completely different person. Almost immediately you took to the basics of Ki with no struggle at all. Just through demonstration you already unlock your ki without assistance and perform the different forms of Ki manipulation just as quickly as they were shown to you. Like with magic, it seems that Ki was a natural affinity for you, albeit to a lesser extent. A true jack of all trades, you were skilled in all of the forms. With your preferred go-to style being Alteration, Guided and Kiai-type. Effectively painting you as more of a trickster and manipulator, befitting of your magic dominant side as a shinjin.

While ki based techniques and skills came easier to you, there was still the problem of your physical aptitude. In comparison, the only physical martial art technique that came to you was the Afterimage-type. Thus to remedy this you were advised and directed into learning all kinds of Kiai techniques, including the Kobushi no Shōgekiha, Kiaitame, and Attack Assisting-type like energy barrier to better augment your combat capabilities. Of course, you weren’t just taught offensive or defensive ki manipulations as you took well in learning supportive techniques such as Ki Sensing, the movement arts Kōsoku Idō, and other utility moves.
>>
>>4198340

Perhaps the most astonishing aspect arrived during your spiritual control training. Even greater than your ability to manipulate your ki was your ability to control it and shape it to your will. Within a week alone, you managed to completely master the basics of Ki. The amount of control over your ki was remarkably high as it was easy for you to apply the knowledge and experience with the transformation arts of magic into Ki Effectively refining as it followed your every will as you summoned an abundant amount of Ki instantly and with no visible effort. Perhaps due to your link with Champoo your aura carries the same properties and characteristic of white flames, right down to its texture.

Continuing to build on your foundation, you spent your remaining time when you weren’t training physically or learning new types of ki on the fundamentals. Such diligence towards an area brought forth greater rewards than even you considered. Things like meditation for you were second nature, allowing you to become stronger, more focused and balanced as you inadvertently use Hikou through innate ability rather than means like ki to achieve levitation. When it came to the spiritual and mental side, you were notoriously better at controlling, improving and polishing such forms of energy.

Before long you started reaching the next step during your training, transformation. Kyodaika the gigantification technique, and the minimization technique Shukushō, both of these techniques were your first taste in performing the transformation arts without magic. Like previously it came naturally without issue, however, you were made effectively aware by Annin the weaknesses in both transformation techniques. Unlike her, you weren’t able to gain Gigantification’s raw physical power and resilience with no loss in agility or general efficiency, nor achieve Minimization’s raw physical speed/agility and flexibility without sacrificing power and resilience. But in the end, you were able to achieve it without being directed.

Without even anyone showing you, you managed to achieve a similar aspect to the foundation that spirit control is based on in the rudimentary form. Reaching the universal nexus of ki and obtaining a nigh-perfect spirit-body connection, greater applications of your supernatural abilities and magical abilities skyrocket. Almost as if the rampant waves finally coming into a dead calm state, the magic-like powers came into your complete control. Not only did your own powers came easier but so too did the purification and restoration flames of Champoo as they start to become more your own.
>>
>>4198345

Most impressive through the training was your awakening to two particular techniques. The key source to your sudden rise in just a manner of three months of continuous without sleep or nourishment. Mohō aka Mimicry and Junsuinaru Seichō aka Pure Progress. Both of them were classified under the growth tree for martial arts, skills tailored to dealing with adapting to an enemy’s rhythm and combat prowess while simultaneously improving one’s fighting skills and battle tactics. Although only the initial stage, it was impressive how your body instinctively developed them and awakening them in your time of need. All the more highlighting you as a prodigious combatant with your boundless untapped potential.

At the beginning of the first month, you were given an unexpected encounter. During your meditation portion of training, someone you didn’t sense prior quickly appeared right in front of you in a flash. Arriving two months ahead from schedule was a poofy, blue-haired woman wearing a skin-tight blue leotard with long sleeves, stockings, and a lavishing cape. From what you can tell she looks more like a vampire than the grim reaper. It only just now done upon you the name as you feel the urge to facepalm for not getting such a pun. Looking at you with a bored expression, the blue-haired vampire squats down to poke at your forehead.

“Hey? Are you the one that I’m supposed to take to King Kai? Okazu Ryoma was it?”

“..Yes, I’m that Ryoma, nice to meet you….Tra…Tram..p” You paused, stuttering in embarrassment at calling someone by that sort of name. Even for this world standard, you saw it be too much since she didn’t give the impression of a prostitute.

Closing her eyes and putting her hand in front of your face, Tramprie flusters in mild-annoyance. “Stop, don’t force yourself to finish. It’s a dumb name a certain purple-haired robot stuck upon me that won’t go away. My actual name is Caramilla, Cara for short. “

“So it’s Carmel and Camila together.”

“...Well, aren’t you the einstein. Anyway, I’m here now thanks to some free time in my busy schedule rounding wandering souls that don’t get the message that they’re dead or stubbornly refusing to go to Other World. So if you’re ready to go then we can leave. If not I’m going to be over there looking for some blood to drink. It’s been ages since I had some free time for myself.”

Now I assume one would think having a lot of techniques would be excessive or downright OP but nearly all of this is just basic Ki applications and skills, with a few being more advanced but still not nearly on the plateau of special moves like the Kamehameha. In terms of the basics, you're a monster but only when it comes to Ki and Mana. The physical portion you're seriously lacking, so don't forget that.

You should make a Pastebin to help everyone keep track of what we've got.
I'll admit, the details on some of the techniques are fuzzy to me. And I have no idea what things like Hikou, Moho, and Junsuinaru Seicho are. I have yet to get my weeb degree, I'm still in weeb college.
>>

That's the plan.

Hikou is basically flying without the use of Ki like Puar's hovering, winged light, jetpacks, etc.

Moho is my translation for Mimicry and Junsuinaru Seicho is Pure Progress the thing that fighter like Hit, Frieza and Zamasu did to improve their skills rather than use Saiyan Power for general boosts. Broly from Super is actually a mix of both.

Uub and Jiren would also fall under Pure Progression and by proxy Majin Buu.

“Well, you already made the effort of coming here early rather than taking the time to invest in your own personal endeavors. So I really appreciate it if you take me to King Kai.” You reply with a smile, causing Caramilla to turn in a daze.

Nearly blanking from your wholesome presence, Caramilla tilts her head and folds her arms. “Dead serious on going to King Kai’s planet now instead of using those two months to train here eh? “ She ponders a bit, starting to imagine the trip and how likely she’ll be expected to stay to bring him back. Thus an idea starts hatching as she turns her head back towards meeting your eyes. “Hmm, being around that gravity would be annoying to deal with. Oh, I know! How about I teach you instead.”

Looking at the pale fair-skinned vampire’s stature as you measure her up, you reductively close your eyes and smile awkwardly upon your discovery. “Thanks for the offer but I don’t want to sound rude but...you don’t particularly look like the martial arts type like Master Gohan and Lady Annin.”

“Shut your rude mouth! You’re not exactly a stunning hulk yourself! I bet you never bench pressed anything heavier than groceries!”Caramilla screams, completely flustered at being talked down by a scrawny string bean. “You should know by now that appearances can be deceiving. For instance, just by looking at you, I could tell in terms of ki you got an abundant amount. Precisely that of seventy give or take if I was to give it a specific number. Physically however you’re barely pushing twenty. I could flick you to that wall over there with my pinky in a flash.” With a loud hmph, Caramilla folds her arms and stomps her foot, making a steep crack to prove her point.

“I see, you say that but from what I’m picking from you with Kikaku is very little. Your strength is not even readable to me.” You reply, tilting your head in confusion. Comparing her to Annin and Gohan was a little unfair but you still couldn’t get a real read on her power and her temperamental attitude gave you the impression she frightens easy.

“That’s why I can tell you’re a newbie. I’m obviously hiding my power level. Do you really believe King Yemma would hire people in this crazy world that couldn’t handle trouble makers? It’s not like you lose your physical form until you go into the furnace and enter the afterlife. It’s all a matter of willpower and mental focus. “ Caramilla explains, still pouting profoundly.

“In addition to being far stronger than any average human, I am a notorious user of Chōnōryoku, though I believe several people call this supernatural power Psychokinesis. Of course, that’s not all that I can do, I also know Hypnosis and mind control techniques, bend things with my mind, read a person’s heart, can freely control my form and reshape it accordingly, pull off the instantaneous movement, and a bunch of other cool tricks. I bet you’re feeling rather grateful to have such a talented woman like myself as your guide.”

“So basically what vampires are known for.” With a straight face stare and a monotone pitch, you nearly end up causing the shinigami to fall in a comedic fashion.

“Oh, not impressed I see. Well then how about this, my Supernatural ability is so strong that I can even freeze time itself. “ Taking a confident pose and smirking to herself, she tries to picture herself as the spectacular specimen worthy of praise and worship. Only to be met with a look of worried skepticism given you saw through her act and see her childish nature in full view.

Blushing furiously at your disbelief of her claims, Caramilla grits her teeth and balls her hands into fists. “It’s the truth god damn it!” She yells, stomping against the floor as she made an even bigger crack, nearly letting her power flare out as you saw for the moment that she was around close to a hundred. “Dealing with that meddlesome hunk of junk continuously in penguin village has pushed me to the zenith of my sanity. Thus I developed a technique capable of ensuring that I’ll never have to deal with her again nor will let anyone escape my grasp and endanger my position as senior Shinigami. Hence the move Time Freeze. It’s easy to keep a perfect record when everything is frozen.”

“Well, that certainly would be handy considering the mess you made. I don’t think Lady Annin would take to someone making cracks in her precious castle wouldn’t you?” You point out, showing the hotheaded vampire the extensive damage her temper tantrum was doing to the ground and the walls.

Sweating nervously Caramilla starts to awkwardly laugh before reaching for your hand. “..Yeah, sure we can go now.”

Upon taking Caramilla’s hand the two of you quickly vanish without a trace. That is until one moment you teleported right back to Akai and Champoo to till your departure. Naturally, Champoo was upset that you were leaving her behind but Akai manages to calm the phoenix down. Unlike her, she was taking the entire thing well, just like when you told her about the dragon balls. Although she may appear ditzy she was a genuine level-headed officer of the law. Bulma could take a lesson or two from Akai’s hardboiled nature. Especially since you haven’t told her about your deed.

Now with proper goodbyes between your friends and mentors you properly teleported with Caramilla towards your destination. In no time at all you find yourself arriving at King Kai’s planet. A small and quaint little abode that left you speechless. There were barely any trees, a rather long road that cycles through the planet, and what you assume was the house on the grassy surface. It honestly looks no bigger than pluto as the term dwarf planet might be more accurate. But as you begin to try and move you feel yourself completely collapsing to the ground. Immense pressure was constantly upon you as you feel completely helpless.

“See what I mean by times tens Earth’s gravity?” Caramilla chimes in, kneeling to chat with you. She was handling the gravity far better but she wasn’t far too happy with her predicament.

“Well look what we have here. Visitors. I wasn’t expecting you to come here so soon but that’s fine. But from the looks of it, you probably should’ve spent more time improving your body than your ki.” Stepping from out from the large house was a short, blue-skinned male with rather long antennas. Wearing a former gi the mysterious man gave of a strong aura, befitting of a king. Without a doubt, you knew that this person was King Kai.

>To be Continued.

(I like to thank everyone that stuck with me so far through this rocky first path. Honestly didn't think things would end up like this when I first made the thread but I ain't complaining. This is a good divergence from the main story. Still, I'm going to need to take some time off to make your sheet and plan the next courses of action. But I promise the next thread will be soon. So till then, discuss with yourselves on your main objective/next goals. Also, you can give feedback and ask some questions if you like.)

On the bright side, our body gains should increase drastically in 10x gravity.
I wonder if True Shapeshifting can be used to cheese body gains, too...a muscle's strength is limited by its size and efficiency when Ki isn't factored into the equation, so maybe our scientific mind could try to optimize our muscular structure?
Maybe one day in the (likely far) future, we could shapeshift to such a degree that we can even optimize the body's ki pathways. There has to be some level of inefficiency in a natural system, after all.

Man i finally finished reading, this quest is 10000% hype
