Well, that could have gone better. Don’t get me wrong, things were going great up until the whole finding a dead body thing. All the way to the tourney finals! You should give yourself a pat on the back once this is all over. Y’know, depending on if you’re alive to see it be over. You probably will, right? I mean, you didn’t kill that smug chode, Arthur. At least you’re pretty sure. Yeah, you definitely couldn’t have, you were busy messing around with your goofy fake mustache. And due to these unfortunate circumstances, that is now one of your only worldly possessions. Great.
Fake moustaches and dead chodes aside, you need to disappear to somewhere very much not near the tournament. From your wanderings around Ophelie, you can probably guess on some good places to hide out. Sewers, farms, docks, anywhere to lie low and not get taken in by the watch. Unless you want to get locked up for a crime you didn’t commit, that is. Plenty of people go to jail for things they didn’t do, it’s a valid option. Though, being stuck in a cell again is likely near the bottom of your list on things you want to do.

>Go to the docks. Maybe someone can get us a boat out of Ophelie, if the watch hasn't shut the place down yet.
Thanks to your head start on the law, the Watch hasn't had the chance to set partols over the docks yet! Score one for Tomoe. The first thing you notice about the docks is that they are exceptionally dark. Not a single lamp lit. Is this a safety hazard? Probably. Would ships smash into the docks all the time if this were a regular occurrence? Most likely. Does it make shady things done in the dark much easier to do? Definitely. Now that you think about it, Llewelyn did mention the docks being dangerous when you first arrived. Something must be going on, and it's probably best not to stick around here for too long.
Llewelyn, there was something about him you're forgetting... Right, your things! They're still in the tent with Llewelyn and Cheriette! Those are going to be a real bitch to snag with the situation heating up. You'll have to leave behind what you don't have on you right now if you find a ship to take you away. There should be at least one, hopefully.

You turn back from the docks and start on the dangerous journey back to the tent. You make it about half way before you see them, Watchmen on patrol. They don't seem to be actively searching for you specifically, but it's probably better to stay out of sight either way. Suspicious characters and foreigners like yourself are likely to get stopped. You need a path to get back to the tent somehow.

>Successful route!
The route may have taken a bit of time to navigate, but it got you there unnoticed! Hopefully someone somewhere is keeping score of how many times you're going to dunk on the Watch.
You duck behind the wall that encloses the park, peering over it with your little friend to scope out the scene. Watchmen encircle the area and a rope perimeter looks to have been set up around the event as well. From your view of the back of the main tent, and by extension the supply tents, you see a couple people looking over the scene before entering the main tent proper. The officers around the perimeter don't look like they're going to wander off, but also don't seem all too enthused to be out there.
If you want to get in and grab your things, you're going to need a plan.

You and your machine share a quick look and a salute to each other before you pick it up and toss it near one of the Watchmen! The soldier springs to life and gives the guard a swift kick to the shin before running off, the officer chasing after it. With a hole in the perimeter, your path is clear!
You duck behind a couple of the supply tents, peeking at the scene before you. You count at least three members of the watch keeping an eye on things back here, one of them being that sergeant who spotted you running off before. Uh oh. On top of that, the cursing of the watchman out away from the tent seems to have drawn attention.
Coeur: "What the hell's gotten into them out there? Hartmann, go check on them."
One of the officers from the supply tent area moves to investigate the perimeter.

You look around for something to hide behind, but your search comes up empty. This tent is the best cover you have back here! Thankfully, the officer passes by you without looking in your direction, focused on his comrade and your soldier.
Officer 1: "Oi, what's your deal?"
Officer 2: "This godsdamn- Gah! One of that knife-ear artificer's pieces of shit must've got loose, little shit kicked me!"
Off.1: "Sounds like a good machine to me."
Off.2: "Very funny."
The officer chasing your soldier finally catches it, picking it up by the leg and catching his breath
Off.2: "Finally gotcha!"
Off.1: "Hey, you think that thing's maker had anything to do with this?"
Off.2: "Man, I don't even know what 'this' is. What's with the secrecy?"
Off.1: "It's... uh, nevermind. I'll tell Coeur we might have a new lead."
Off.2: "Come on, don't blueball me like that. I just chased a tin can, spill it."
The first officer fidgets a bit before getting closer to his friend and speaking in a hushed tone. They'll probably be distracted for a bit.

That's one guard away, but seeing that there are two more Watchmen in the area between this tent and the main one, you decide to sneak into the supply tent through a convenient slash in the fabric. It takes a little finagling, but you manage to fit yourself through, hat included.
Inside the tent is a mess of tournament supplies. Weapons and armor lay scattered about, boxes and racks have been haphazardly pushed around to make room, and a few crates by this rip seem to already be open.
Peeking out of the tent flaps in front, you see the sergeant from before and another officer standing watch over the scene. That's where you followed your little friend's trail to the death tent. Nasty business

The chances of your things being a place you haven't visited are low, but never zero. In this case, however, they are nowhere in sight. You hope they're still the main tent with your companions where you left them.
Around this large supply tent are plenty of things the could come in handy! Weapons, armor, tools, a few loose articles of clothing, just anything you could imagine would be in here. None of it is in particularly fine shape, but the variety is nothing to scoff at.
You reckon that the guard who went off to check on the other should be returning some time soon. Five minutes tops.

It might not be warrior material, but nobody would ever think it was you in such an outfit! Probably! Hopefully at least! With nowhere to store your old clothes, you fold them and set them on a crate near the tear in the tent. Making sure to pick these back up is probably a good idea.
There isn't much in the way of gold on your way out, and you decide to snag up a dagger, giving you access to the BLADE AND TESSEN moveset. You'll just uh, stick these into your waistband or something. This outfit doesn't allow for much hammerspace.

You exit the tent and move left behind the cover of the other two tents. As you get out of sight, the guard sent off to the perimeter comes back and retakes his post in front of the rectangular tent. Sneaking alongside the large main tent and arriving at the back --or front in this case-- the sight of the fancy moonlit stands where the higher-class attendees sat catches your eye. If there were loose money around, it'd most likely be there. On the other hand, it probably isn't a good idea to hang around too long and the entrance to the main tent is right here. You can almost feel your coinpurse's stomach growling

Scrounging for loose change can wait. For now. You decide to head into the main tent to grab your belongings.
Inside, you see that everybody that was here is still inside. Thankfully, the guard near your entrance seems to be preoccupied with a western wench --also known as ALL western women-- otherwise he might have questioned what you were doing outside.
Over by your team's bench, you see your companions, Llewelyn and Cheriette! They seem to be getting the third degree from a duo of Watchmen at the moment, with your bag very close to them. Not the best case scenario, but not the worst. Now, how to get your things...

Welp, they'll probably be busy for a bit, so you decide to wait for said bit. Wandering around between the tables you see all kinds of people. A couple that you can tell has achieved dangerous levels of dysfunctional, some washed-up magical has-been girl, a man yelling about being "noided.", etc.
You stop by a table where a trio of... people? sit. Though, that might not be the right word for them. The chumby glasses-wearing one is in a constant state of being exceedingly sweaty, and the staff with a creepy groper hand on the end of it does no favors for her image. The one next to her just gives off an aura of being an absolute disappointment to everyone around her at all times. She isn't even actually sitting on a chair, just holding herself in a squat position while claiming some power of her's is giving her a place to sit. Her toothpick legs wobble uncontrollably from the effort. The only slightly normal one of them is a halfling... no. No, wait, that's an actual child. Who left this kid in here with this human garbage and fujoshi shotacon pervert? This entire table just makes you very uncomfortable. There's no way you're sitting there.
At a bench next to the freak table, you spot two people who you get an odd sense of familiarity from. You're certain you've never met them, but you can feel that this Knight-Errant and Novice Spellblade share something intangible with you.
Eh, it probably doesn't matter. You're an Eastern Ronin- er, Tomoe, and way cooler than both of them. Combined. Yeah

Tired of standing around, you look for a nearby empty seat. You go to move a bag of garbage out of a chair to free up a seat. And before you ask, no it's not the one at the freak table. That garbage bag isn't even in a chair.

You muster up the courage to finally reach deep and draw up your hidden thespian talents! You scoot your chair over to the bench where the two weirdly familiar hedge warriors sit and introduce yourself with the harshest, most rootin-tootin, cowpoke shootin, traincar lootin w*stern accent imaginable. You would do the thing where you make your eyes really wide, but your hair looks nice and you don't want to mess it up.
The two look at you for a bit, as if deciding between a selection of choices for what to do, then tell you their names. The experience is hard to describe, sort of as if they gave you a thousand names in one word. Well, maybe not a thousand, more like three to ten max. Yeah that sounds about right. Regardless, it sort of makes your head spin as they talk about why they're here, stories of what they've done, and what they think happened. All of it's said, but your brain doesn't register any of it, like they're trying to tell you things yet undefined by a forum of higher powers.

Using the opportunity, you slip on over to your team's bench and swipe your belongings! Your hustle and grind for da bag over, you feel just a bit more complete.
Llewelyn: "Toomo? Where've you been!"
Cheriette: "Yeah, people are askin' 'bout you. And uh... why'd you change clothes? Where'd you even get those?"
L: "Hey, are you in trouble? Did you... do something?"
Your teammates eye you half out of concern and half out of suspicion. With the two officers behind you, it's not a good idea to linger here for too long.

First things first, you need thoughts on your outfit. Sure it's revealing, but you've sort of gotten used to it. The two give a positive response, though you suspect for different reasons. You then regale the two with the short story of how you stumbled upon the corpse of Arthur while looking for your machine. Such a tragedy! For you! Augh, a horrible sight. You leave out the part that you've seen worse before, it'd only ruin the dramatic effect.
Cheriette: "Oh yeah, I guess I did bat him pretty far... Uh, sorry 'bout that, I guess?"
Llewelyn: "So the guy you were supposed to fight in the finals just, like, got murdered? Now, um, I don't want to suggest anything, but that seems kind of... really convenient for you."

Unfairly discriminated against! First by the guard, and now by your teammates?! Oh, the societal injustice is almost too much to bear! You make sure to really get the point across that this shows a clear flaw in W*stern culture. Which flaw? Yes.
Llewelyn: "Alright, alright, I get it! You didn't do it, I can believe that."
Cheriette: "Yeah, you slopes are all about honor in combat an' shit, right? Wouldn't make sense to kill your last opponent before the match."

>So how long are you going to just sit there? Do you have anything else to do?
Llewelyn: "Well, uh, no actually. None of us are allowed to leave because of what happened. The Watch has us locked down in here."
Oh. Yeah, that makes sense. Well, in that case...
>ask if they have an easy way out of town. These folks are our only real resource
Cheriette: "Whadda we look like, Thieves' Guild members? Only way I've gotten in an' out of cities is through the gates."

At this very moment, leaving Ophelie sounds like a pretty gosh darn good idea to you. Sadly though, you don't know jack shit about these lame-ass w*stern countries.
Llewelyn: "Well, if you're sure you want to risk it-"
Cheriette: "Look, just don't die, alright? I'm lookin' forward to a rematch where I crush you. Y'know, some time down the line."
Llewelyn: "Well, there's plenty of towns in the country, but I'd recommend avoiding big ones. Word travels fast with all the advancements technology is starting to make. It's not just mages who can do the cool stuff anymore!"
Cheriette: "Yeah, I'd like to see one of those dorks dodge a bullet."
Llewelyn: "You might even be better off on a boat! Um, the high seas can be pretty dangerous though, so I'd watch out."
It's true, pirates and other nautical beasts run rampant just about everywhere boats and ships do. The pirate's life is the life for people who don't want to live very long.
Cheriette: "I don't 'zactly have a country map on me, but if you're gonna go by land, be smart. Wanderin' into a place called "THE FOREST OF DEATH AN' TORTURE FOR ALL WHO ENTER" won't help you live very long."
Llewelyn: "But it might be fun!"
Cheriette squints a hard glare at the third member of your team. Oh, right, you just remembered! Shiho's harassment! Between keeping that trait and getting rid of it, the latter definitely sounds more appealing.
Cheriette: "Curse liftin'?"
Llewelyn: "Uhhh, I don't think either of us are very good with magic. You're better off asking someone who studies that stuff."
Cheriette: "Yeah, a fuckin' dweeb."
You feel the threat of eyes on your back growing more and more dangerous by the second. Those watchmen might get suspicious soon

With your route set on heading to the docks, you bid your companions farewell and slip past the door guard once again. Sounds like he's being chewed out by one of his fellow officers for improper conduct.
Sneaking back to the supply area, you see that your machine is nowhere within eyesight. The perimeter guard must have taken care of the distraction. Now that you've got your pack back, it's time to make your next move.

It doesn't take long to find your tin can curled up into itself on the ground. As you get closer, you see that it's taken a nasty dent to its side as well as gotten a host of scratches. Your mechanical soldier is wounded! Poor little guy...

You resolve to become a criminal and take vengeance on the w*stern world! First things first though, your friend needs medical- or uh, mechanical attention!
One place you know for sure can fix him is where you got him from. That knife-ear gearhead should be able to get him feeling right as rain again. Who knows, maybe she has some criminal connections. It's like your grandpa always said, "never trust a knife-ear."
On the other hand, going all the way to Inner Ophelie might be risky. You could try your luck down at the docks, but you're probably more likely to get shanked by a night-stabber than get your foot in the seedy underbelly door.

You head back along your secure route to the docks with your tiny, wounded machine in your arms. While the rest of the city is lit up at this time of night, the docks are still as dark and ominous as ever. Nothing you fear though! These w*sterners wouldn't know how to crime if they had a witch's prophecy and vaulting ambition!
The only sound around is the steady creaking of the docks and the water washing up against the shore below. It's eerie, you'd at least expect there to be a few sailors loading cargo on an off the boats. If you were a criminal, what would you do, where would you be?

Slipping into the alley, you go to follow after the figure. You walk the length of the alley in search of a door once, twice, three times over to no avail. They vanished into thin air, or so it would seem. Taking one last slower walk down, you find the outline of a door frame drawn onto the wall in chalk. With no other place to look, you touch the drawing of the doorknob.

With your buddy in desperate need of repair, you step into the doorway to find someone who can help.
You end up in a thieves' den of some kind. The scent of smoke is in the air, and the sounds of piano dance around your ears next to clinking glasses and idle chatter. Low light illuminates just right to set a relaxing, smooth mood through the building. Plenty of tables seat no patrons, but the sense of emptiness is nowhere to be felt around here.

You look to the tiny...child? with the pointy hat, large ears, and no shoes. Just how young is the drinking age here? I guess when you're in a criminal bar it must not matter. Setting your hurt buddy on the counter, you ask if he knows how to repair it.
Pointy-Hat Dork: "Hm? Eh, sure I do, fixed plenty of 'em. I even give Jasper here a tune-up from time to time. You know what's wrong with it?"

Jasper: "I know this is sudden, but here's some trivia about sake for you, as you seem to have finished your cup."
"Daiginjo and honjozo are two of the many varieties of sake a brand produces. Do you know what differentiates one type from another? The differences in the varieties of sake can be attributed to the degrees of polishing the rice undergoes during the brewing process. Daiginjo contains the highest amount of polished rice, followed by ginjo, and honjozo. Junmai is produced without using brewer's alcohol. Compared to the average polishing ratio of 90%, a minimun of 50% of the rice must be polished away to classify a sake as daiginjo. So much if forsaken to acquire such an exquisite taste. Be sure to drink every last drop."
The automaton bows to you one last time.
