_________________________________________________________
In the last session we pass Tilisos and fly straight to Elspen. There we visit the Academy, buy some books for Rheia and decide to hire some of the newly graduated students to assist us with certain industries. We also visit the markets and purchase some relatively rare seeds and an artifact recovered from the depths of the Labyrinth. On the way back to the inn we ended up taking a detour after a shady salesperson and encountering another artifact, this time stolen from one of Elspeth’s temples. By impersonating Elspeth herself we manage to take the mechanical owl for ourselves and hide it among our other possessions.

With everything you wanted in the city completed, the next stop on our trip was chosen to be Valhalla, the headquarters of the Ceno Pantheon. It only took a couple hours by boat to reach the artificial island. There after a small delay we were welcomed by one of Elspeth’s own Cup Bearers who led us towards the Capital Complex while also sharing some information of how to access the Valhalla differently in the future. She left us once we arrived at the front door. Inside there was a large entrance hall with no one in it. The only object of note was a short stone pillar in the middle of the room displaying a halo obviously crafted to fit us. We decided to take it, which promptly summoned almost the entire pantheon with exception of Marcos and Ignis into the room who congratulated us and officially recognized us as a goddess. During this small ceremony Marcos decided to pay a surprise visit with a troupe of his servants. As the serious mood was completely demolished, he suggested everyone to wrap up with formalities and proceed to celebrate the occasion.

“Do I need to sign anything?” you decide to ask since you expect such an honor to come with strings attached, to which Elspeth tells you: “Not yet, or more accurately it mostly depends on whether you’d be joining us permanently. You see, the pantheon has a few binding resolutions between itself and pantheons of nearby states. Independent deities also sign similar resolutions, but signed separately which gives you an opportunity. While we can, we decided not to be the first people to push the treaties on you which should give you an opportunity to carve out a spot for yourself and to rise your technological prowess somewhat. I feel like you’d need a head start due to your… unique geographical position. Just, you know, don’t touch radio for the next 200 years or so, but that’s mainly for your own safety and the safety of your people.”

“So… what now?” You ask Elspeth, who shrugs and replies: “Well, for once I have to agree with Marc, we have a small banquet prepared for you guys. Let’s head there for now, we can discuss more things when we get there. Your followers are also invited.” After that Sam stretches and adds “Yeah, I feel like I need a drink. My morning coffee wasn’t Irish enough” which causes some slight laughter from the rest of the pantheon. You wonder, is she old enough to drink? Elspeth said that everyone she froze was an adult, but you wonder if Sam’s new body can handle alcohol in the same way.

After these words Marcos disbands his very awkwardly standing troupe of recruited servants and everyone heads deeper into the complex. The walk is relatively short and you are led to the place where you’ve already been before. The “main banquet hall” is the large oval open space at the bottom of that section where gods decided to place lots of those tiny restaurants and other recreational facilities. It seems that they were somewhat inspired by the malls of your time with four stories of various amenities surrounding the central gap that leads through the upper floors and gives the bottom most floor an impressive ceiling height. In the middle of it all sits a large fountain that can shoot water almost all the way to the ceiling. Since it is not designed for thousands of shoppers, the first floor’s open space is used as a banquet hall with rows of tables already prepared. They have smaller more private banquet halls in other places, but this one is the biggest one and it is most often used due to the convenient proximity to basically all of the restaurants.
>>

It seems that because there is only the three of you and the 11 people from the Pantheon, the entire place was not prepared leaving a spot of maybe the quarter of the entire space which is still way more than enough. The tables are filled with mostly international cuisine of your time and there are no chairs which supposedly means that this party was designed to facilitate social interactions as everyone would be on their feet. There are also at least a dozen servants prepared at the borders of the room ready to replace the dishes or help in any way necessary. One of which catches your eye. It is a mechanical automaton maid covered in white sheets of glossy metal. The symbol of three gears on her hat indicates that she is one of Yaw’s personal servants and she is waiting to the side of everyone else and directly watches Yaw’s movements, probably expecting orders.

There is also a small troupe of musicians that, in this case very decently, play some of the classical music starting with certain Bach’s compositions. You were never much of a classical music fan, but you can appreciate a good taste. The party itself is very civil, you start with introducing your friends and then telling Elspeth and others your story. They are very curious of what happened with H+ project after they were gone, but you couldn’t help them much with that since you didn’t know much about it either. Rheia ended up wandering towards Sam probably expecting some younger audience, but the two ended up discussing some business concepts while Haven mostly avoided communications and quietly sipped some sort of soft drink at the side. You, on the other hand, have lots to discuss. What should you start with…?

Feel free to name a god and then name the subject, I will reply to everything. The more specific the better. The party would last until there are no more subjects left that you want to discuss. Here are a few examples

>Talk to Elspeth about her owl. Does she want it back?
>Talk to Elspeth about Rheia’s education. You wonder if she can help you with getting her a spot
>Talk to Elspeth about psi circuitry. She promised to teach you
>Talk to Belkh about city construction. While you can do it, you are still a little bit over your head here
>Talk to Sam, you want to discuss some economic aspects of feeding tens of thousands of people until you can set up the farms
>Talk to Yaw about his maid and the Golem Heart. He probably knows more about the two
>Talk to Yaw about borrowing his industrial potential for city construction
>Talk to Marc, he seems to be waving you over
>Talk to anyone on the subject of anything (Write-In)

Alright, guys, writing
>>
>>4189117
The post is ending up a bit big, it will take some time
>>
>>4189117
“So, you guys always throw that ceremony or I’m the first?” You ask Elspeth and Nike who are standing close by. “You’re our… fourth, actually. We started doing these things for the new entrants and independent gods in the last… 60 years?” says Nike and looks at Elspeth who nods in agreement and adds “Almost 70 now, Nika. We didn’t have new awakenings for a long while and it was exclusively used for establishing contacts with solo gods that actually wish to be recognized. Outsiders always refuse since they don’t want to settle down. I think that most pods of our generation that could open have already “popped”. The rest are probably too damaged to activate and precognition doesn’t scan for them since they have no sufficient effect on the timeline. That’s honestly why you are pretty important. You are the first Synthetic Goddess to wake up in half a century, and you might be at the start of the new small wave of awakenings.”

“Speaking of which, any news on pod research?” You ask her, to which she replies: “Not much to report, honestly. The pod was redesigned at a fundamental level to be as robust as possible. It can’t be accessed without sufficient computing even to refuel, and all we have is some very simple vacuum tube-based rooms filled with electronics that are insufficient to crack the encryption in any reasonable timeframes. We can tell that it is not a product of human engineering though, it is too complex to understand the structure in depth. I believe that H+ requisitioned a hyperturing AI once again to look over the design. We think that your pod is a direct upgrade over the Mark 2 that we used, and it should be capable of squeezing out a bit more performance in significantly less time. In fact, our pods required all 2000 years to calculate augmentation synergies while your system could potentially finish in just a couple hundred years, which is an incredible achievement. If only we could access the on- board computer…” Huh… why were you left to lie for so long then? A question for later

“Any tips before I dive into this god social gathering?” you finally ask. Nike’ giggles and tells you “Don’t feed Marco” to which he shouted from the back “I can fucking hear you!” which caused some laughter among the crowd, including Marco himself. “In all seriousness, not sure what to tell you, we’ve been friends for longer than most humans were alive. We decided to reschedule a weekly moot for your arrival so don’t worry about keeping any of us waiting, we’d be chatting with each other all the time anyway. Feel free to walk around, chat, maybe discuss some stuff that’s been bothering you. And if you want something that’s not at the table, just poke the staff.”

"You owe me a tour after this. Also, if it's not a bother to you try to save me if I make any blunder, will you? Thanks" you say with a nice smile to Nike’. “Of course, of course, I’ll show you around.” she replies with a laugh. “Or at least we’ll direct you and see you make big craters. Just kidding, we’ll try to keep nastier stuff at bay to the best of our abilities and advise you when you want help.” You smile in return and direct your attention to Elspeth. You had a few things you wanted to ask her.

“So, Elspeth, there is some stuff I want to talk about with you. First of all, the owl…” you tell her to which she enthusiastically replies “Oh, you want to see Pine?! One second…” she places two fingers in her mouth and whistles. For about a minute nothing happens, but then a real great horned owl flies through an open window in the ceiling and spirals down until it takes a seat on Elseth’s forearm and puffs up. “Who’s a good owl?” asks Elspeth to which her pet replies with a resounding “Uhoo!”. The goddess places her finger into owl’s belly feathers and the finger just disappears in all the fluff. “Did you know that there is not much of an actual “owl” inside of an owl? They are incredibly fluffy. They also don’t really like pats; it damages the fat layer on their feathers. They do like scratches…” she says as she slightly rubs the top part of Pine’s beak which causes her to lean back a little and close its eyes. Wow, the bird is very beautiful and looks well cared for. But that’s not really what you meant.

You explain your story to Elspeth, you hope that she doesn’t mind your small impersonation. Marc then shows up behind you and adds that one of his agents happened to see it and it was glorious, but you “need to work on the voice a bit more”, which startles you somewhat. “Oh, you mean that statue. Yeah, now I remember, the temple was so distraught that I ended up making a normal statue of an owl for them as a replacement. That owl was Yaw’s pet project once when he was studying psi powered animatronics. It is a machine that mimics some behaviors of an owl, but it is not really as smart as one. It doesn’t tell much though since owls in nature are somewhat silly, which is ironic for a symbol of wisdom. In any case, feel free to keep it, or give it away to my temple if you don’t need it.” For the rest of the evening the owl stayed by Elspeth’s side and once the servant even brought a dead chick to feed to the owl. It was a little disturbing and fascinating at the same time how eagerly it swallowed its food.
>>
>>4189334
“The other thing I wanted to ask was about Rheia…” You said and noted that Rheia sneezed shortly after. “Nike’ told me about your young follower, yes” replied Elspeth. “What would you say about a Pantheon Scholarship, but only if she passes the exams? Else there’d be no challenge, right? If she is as smart as I think she shouldn’t have any problem with it.” You agree to that proposal since you didn’t feel like pushing it. “And the last thing is about your promise to teach me psi circuitry”. Elspeth replies with “Ah yes, the basis of most of our current technology. It is a little complicated, I’ll show you after the party, ok?” to which you agree and leave to find other people you wanted to talk to.

You head to Yaw. The man is absent mindedly listening to Belkh’s speech about construction with the use of “active supports” to Sam and Rheia while eating some tiny sandwiches and sipping from a cup of black coffee with a very nice smell. He instantly switches his attention to you and says “Agatha, how may I help you?” You tell him about your newest acquisition of a Golem’s Heart, which piques his interest. You also ask about his maid, which causes him to call her to come over. “Very good eye, Agatha. From your description I can tell that the two are indeed related. Let me introduce you to Techna, she is my maid and also one of the first artificial people that I’ve created.” He slides his hand behind her chestplate and with a little force flips it up which opens the entire chest cavity and causes Marc to disapprovingly tell him “…should I gift you a book about how to treat women?” to which Yaw lightly scoffs. Inside of Techna’s chest you can see a large blue gem cut into a bi- cone and floated inside of a cage made out of some silvery metal. It is positioned in the spot where heart and lungs should be and it is connected to the “skeleton” in several spots with “nerves” made from bundles of wires of silver.

“And that’s why they call it a “heart”, this is her brain, the place where her consciousness resides and from where she controls her body. You see, the psi automaton bodies are incredible. Here and here you can see “limb projectors” which are devices that allow her to control any limb- shaped appendage attached into them. You can screw two door hinges and planks together and plug it into her and it would WORK! It is just mind- boggling. Newer models include the projectors in the Heart itself allowing them to puppet any “puppet” they are plugged into. In fact, modern so- called “necromancy” is the same thing. A psi device that holds the consciousness and pushes around the former human body’s frame.” He gets more and more excited as he explains, it seems to be his favorite subject. “When you learn psi circuitry you might be able to create some of the circuits used in her structure. If you have any problems, give me a call. I might have a few hours spare to give you a hand.” You thank him for the information and the offer, after which you head to Belkh to discuss your most recent project.

Belkh has shrunk to a more human size, but he is still one and a half times bigger than anyone in the room. He’s holding a large mug in his hand in which the liquid content slowly decreases. You’re not sure how the hell he’s drinking it, but he does. You call him out and tell him of your situation. He thinks for a few moments and then says “Hey, Sam and Yaw, I need you guys for this.” After which they come to him and he quickly updates them on the situation. “So, in essence, you have tens of thousands of underground elves to house. It is an admirable goal, and honestly, I could build a town by Ceno standards in two- three weeks no problem. The real problems start when you realize that “Ceno standards” means stuff close to ancient Roman engineering meaning that you don’t have running water, small streets and so on. It won’t be very future proof. Plus, you might want it to turn into your capital, which means you might need a pantheon district, and that takes a lot of time to build. You also need Yaw’s help to get the materials you can’t make in sufficient quantities and Sam’s help to set up the trade lines to feed everyone while the fields are being created. So, let’s talk what you really want out of it. I’ll name some things so you can decide on the plan before we can talk of how to make it work. The more complicated it gets, the longer it would take to build. At the same time, most of this stuff would be a pain to add at a later date. Yes, you can take everything, but be prepared for it to take over a year then”

>Capital- complex: this city is going to be your capital and you want a fancy headquarters at its core. This one in existence structure built with Pantheon’s advanced psi- based technology includes facilities for your future rulers and clergy as well as everything you need for yourself and for meeting the guests of other pantheons. Significantly increases complexity and cost. Does basically the same stuff as the Pantheon District in Polises plus a huge facility for you and your lab work. If you don’t take it, you still have the same religious and administrative facilities, just more spread over the city. It is mainly for yourself and for meeting guests
>Defensibility: you want the city to be as defensible as possible. While it would get an outer wall in any case, this option would add multilayered defenses that cut the city into pieces preventing it from falling as a whole in one go as well as allowing for several shelter networks. Increases complexity
>Compactness: by making housing blocks much denser it is possible to house more people in a smaller city in a similar manner as in Elspen. Makes defensibility option cheaper, but denser city is harder to modernize or modify
>Size: by making the city infrastructure plan bigger, you gain more space for easy expansion of housing and industries. Increases complexity and adds even more complexity to defensibility. This makes the city comparable in size to larger Ceno Polises, allowing for around a million people population.
>Infrastructure: by taking some of Yaw’s industrial production, you can afford to implement a vast array of underground infrastructures from tunnels for future subways to sewers, storm drains and running water paired with infrastructure nodes on the surface. Increases complexity, but without it you don’t have running water
>Future- proofing: certain design decisions that take into account future technologies and needs such as wide streets with underground passages to allow for future cars and manhole networks through which you’ll pass electric wires and telephone cables. Increases complexity, but makes future implementation of these technologies easier
>Industry: every city is supported by its industry, and in your case, you want a lot of it. Textiles, metallurgy, food processing, you need so many of them in a huge variety. It is needed both to supply the city itself and to provide trading goods to get the economy running. Significantly increases complexity
>Farming: city can’t feed itself, which means you need to clear out a massive territory of the forest and establish numerous farm communities that are both defended from monsters and capable of making produce and sending it to feed tens of thousands of people. Increases complexity
>Stuff you think I missed

If other anons want to make it a capital I dont have anything against that, but keeping industries outside the central areas is emission/sound pollution wise smartest and it allows the industrial areas to act as a impromptu layer of defense/obstacle yard in case of outer perimeters being breached.

Call the Nature godess to the conversation to see if she can help us with the farming and industry dependant on farm producta such as textiles.

We could set up some orchards to keep some good forested areas around and add variety.

See if its possible to make a cebtral building for us. Not exacly the pantheon district but a good structure for ua and our friebds too use

I agree that we should keep the industry separated fron the residential areas actually.

I planned to put industry in a sector outside of the inhabited areas anyway, just FYI. It is just common sense not to put stuff that pollutes near to places where you want people to live.

let's try to add some of the elves cultural aestethic to it since they are going to be the major population living there and I bet the the surface will be already strange enough for them

Out of the subjects that you’ve discussed with Belkh you decide that the three most important ones are infrastructure, farming and future- proofing. Then comes defensibility, after which you’d want to install some extra industry and a capital complex if possible. Belkh, after reviewing your proposal, suggests a modified Ceno “standard” Polis design. The city would have a combined radial- grid planned road plan. It would be roughly circular with the main two streets meeting in the middle in a cross form and secondary streets coming at 45 degrees further from the center to provide access. The city would also have several bands of roads at different distances from the center. One would circle the capital complex, other would circle the inner city and the other two would circle the habitation districts and the outer city perimeters. These streets would be enormous, up to 8 lanes, but in the center, they would contain firebreak walls that would split the city into numerous pieces. If one part of the city gets breached, they won’t allow for attackers to access all of the city turning the whole metropolis into layered conglomeration of fortresses. Once cars become common enough, inner walls would be disassembled and defenses would be provided by the active military force.

Since there is no longer such thing as a boring machine, all underground infrastructure would have to be built first before it demands for surface buildings to be moved. Yaw agreed to help with the project and he would be providing miles upon miles of different gauge cast iron pipe segments and reinforced concrete that would allow you to form the running water supply, sewers and storm drains. You also want an extensive system of subway tunnels that you’d later install rails and trains into and they would also serve as a massive shelter system for the entire city. The tunnels would be illuminated with numerous cheapish glow- quartz lamps that Pantheon can somehow mass produce by imbuing normal quartz with the psi circuit that enables it to glow. Later you’d replace them with electricity, but you don’t have the tech yet.

The city would have a dock area capable of building ships and river bank would be reinforced with masonry. Due to its location, it would be connected with the city center through western main road while it would be connected with industrial districts with the outermost circular road (or more accurately, octagonal road). Industrial areas were selected in the outermost regions of the city to reduce various types of pollution and military bases would be placed nearest to the city walls.
>>
>>4189748
A good city needs a lot of different things. Public baths, temples, cultural centers, markets, parks, plazas, places to do sport, hospitals, schools, universities and so on. Maybe even a small stadium. Placing them all in the center is a good way to create huge traffic flows in and then out of the city as day passes. Thus, most of these facilities would be spread across the city focused around the four main roads. The center itself would be reserved to the Capital Complex, an enormous building that would house the seat of government and religious center. Not the only seat, there would be various offices around the city, but the main one would be in the center. The unique symbol of the metropolis. However, Belkh insists that he needs some time to actually design it. He says that to be truly unique he wants to create a custom structure just for you. He does accept inputs. When you tell him that he doesn’t need to do anything too fancy, he just snickers.

With this subject exhausted, you end up approaching other gods for a chat. You introduce yourself to Verdandi first. “Please call me Vera, it’s nice to meet again, Agatha.” She says before you even manage to open your mouth. “Please don’t mind it, I have precognition, see? I tend to know what people would say before they do it. I’m being told that it is annoying, but I sometimes can’t tell if the person already spoke or not, so sorry in advance. I’ve been watching you during the party and I must say, you are fascinating, it is difficult to predict you accurately, but not because of excess power requirements. My power for some reason just keeps projecting with a certain degree of inaccuracy, which I haven’t met before. Still, I do manage to predict some of your behaviors, so I won’t have to redo the Golden Thread completely again, luckily. So, how may I help you?” You tell her that you just wanted to chat, after which the subject of the discussion shifts to your encounter with another precognition user, Oisin. “To tell you a secret, beyond the scope in both distance and time, precognition is affected by two factors that I call “Free Will” and “Influence”. The universe that we find ourselves in is pseudo- deterministic. It runs as if it is deterministic, but certain factors connected to very deep physics and sentient creatures aren’t. Essentially “Free Will” is a measure of that. It is a bit of a grey area, but a human has more quantity of free will than a cat who was more free will than an insect. However, how much can a peasant alone change the course of history? Here comes Influence, the capacity to change the timeline. Leaders, Scholars and others have more influence than average Joe. This is one of the reasons why most monsters are easy to use precognition on. They can have huge influence, but no free will so they apply their influence deterministically. People with both high influence and free will, like Synthetic Gods for example, exert interference in predictions which makes it easy to see where they are. We didn’t see where you were though, which is strange. I’ll need to look into this phenomenon deeply. If it would not bother you too much, could you inform the Pantheon about anything big that you plan to do? That would allow me to adjust my predictions with less hassle. And about Oisin, I don’t really care about him, to be honest. I have a minimum requirement for virtue among my followers, and sacrificing people to monsters doesn’t really fit the bills. It was a nice talk, thank you, Ag.”

Then you decide to see Mortati and talk about Mad Goddess and if he knows how your body works. Mort seems to be a stoic man, barely smiling as he sips some tea. He has a very slight British accent and a bit of a monotone voice. He doesn’t seem to display much in terms of emotions and it feels like he is even so slightly annoyed with everything, but not enough to call him out for that. “Ah, Agatha. I know about Helena’s visit; I hope you were satisfied with the treatment of your people. Don’t feel obliged to thank me for this. Would you like some tea?” You accept the tea and start the discussion regarding the Mad Goddess. “Ah, Jane, I believe her name was, she was always a hothead and I remember her bumping heads with Elspeth constantly. Her hybrid bio-psiborg body project wasn’t ready for the deadline and her funding was directed at Elspeth’s Omega Psi project. I didn’t interact with her much, working in the field of life extension and not bio- augmentation. I know only some surface information based on some similar projects that were developed at the time. From your description, it seems to be a defensive ability most likely embedded in your vegetative system. Potentially you need to genuinely feel life threatened to activate it. Your geyser dive, as irresponsible as it was, no offense, was conducted with full understanding that it would not hurt you while during the… “Mad Goddess” fight you were high on adrenaline and encountered an environmental hazard. Please note that I don’t condone endangering yourself to try and activate your ability. Usually such things carry a big toll on the body in one form or another, so all I can tell you is to be advised and don’t act recklessly please. While I can bring anything from the brink of death, it doesn’t extend to piles of ashes.” You thank him for your time and move on.
>>
>>4189756
Next you decided to pay a visit to Ninmah. The plant goddess can be found eating some Greek salad at one of the tables. “Oh, hello there” she greets you with a smile. “Did you like the tea? I cultivated it myself, it might as well be a Nectar of the Gods! Heh, just a bit of pretender deity humor, sorry. Please call me Nina. I hope you’re enjoying the party, I sure do. It is pretty rare to get a full moot going.” You exchange the pleasantries and then discuss her successes in de- extinction. Apparently, her latest project is to bring back the corn used to make popcorn. From the notes gods discovered, it was extinct since the First Fall. She has some moderate success, but the taste is always a little off so she has spent the last year and a half messing with it at on and off basis among other things. You asked her about the underground elf cuisine since you’re going to be having lots of them. “Ah, Aino’s elves. Aino was amazing at industrial applications of biosculpting. I wish I was half as good as her at that. I’ll give you some of their native food crop mycelium that can grow on the surface, but they should be able to eat Ceno food with little difficulty after some acclimatization. I’ll also send some of my Cups to help you out with some farming, it’s not much, but I want to help the refugees as well. I hope this helps. In the meantime, feel free to visit my gardens when you get the chance. I recently finished an artificially heated rainforest microbiome in one and it is finally stable. Who knew that ecoengineering can be so tricky, I lost track how many times the microcosm’s ecosystem collapsed on me…” You chat with her for a little bit before moving on to other people.

You then meet Tyrael. “Lady Agatha, what a nice day it is to be blessed with your presence. It’s Tyr for friends, feel free to call me that. What can I do for you?” You’ve been wondering why did he become a god of Justice. “In my previous life I was a lawyer, so I decided that it would be a good position for me once I joined the Pantheon” Marco strolled by and added “And he’s also a massive LARPer”. Tyr deflated a little and said “…and that too, but it is in the past. Now I and my Paladins provide justice across the realm! I also handle some judgement when it comes to the souls of the dead, no fire and brimstone, I try to be civil about them.” You tell him about how you’ve handled the court case in Farsalos. “Bravo, I must say I’m impressed. Good job, Lady Agatha. Very well done. Ceno judicial system is a bit different from United States, but I hope it wasn’t causing too much trouble for you. We chose it because it fitted best with the more direct democratic aspects of Ceno society.”
>>
>>4189759
Then you decide to see Marco. He’s been boozing up with Sam on some beer so you approached them and helped yourself with a glass. “And the new goddess arrives! I must thank you, Ag, didn’t have the chance to organize a party for everyone in a while. Shame that Ignis decided to be an edgy ass about it, but still I think it is going well, considering that it is half moot” You end up asking him about local music, to which he replies with “Ceno music is still in its early formation stages, there haven’t been many opportunities for great musicians to be born and currently music is mostly used to convey stories. I taught my followers some Old Earth classics that they can actually play which was received very well, but I’ve mostly been working on the theater. It is surprising how much more interesting it became once all the internet was destroyed. I can still feel the memes calling sometimes…” he jokes. You end up asking about the weird naming conventions. He frowns and says: “It’s a bit of a running joke that Elspeth is very bad at naming things, but in the end, it was a combination of our early ignorance and the wish to be recognized by the people from Old Earth. It was decided that Valhalla is much more well-known compared to Asgard and Elspeth didn’t know about the ability to maintain afterlives at the time which is why it was chosen. But a lot of stuff beyond that is just following the theme of naming our stuff after Old Earth mythology or based off old mythology. Elspeth’s huge artillery system is called Gungnir, for example, which is Odin’s spear. Still, in some cases it does sound awful and we can’t do shit about it because it is already in generations worth of mythos.”

In the end, you decide to see Valentina, but on your way, you bump into Elspeth and quietly ask her: “So, Pyrrha, huh? Really? Why RWBY specifically?” By the jaw drop you understand that you’ve hit the spot. You hear “Yes, I’m not alone who realized this!” shout from Marco which confuses everyone. “That’s a… very old show you remembered, Ag…” she says blushing. You ask her if she’s a fan. She replies: “I’m not really a fan, the show just has some… personal significance to me. I… don’t really want to talk about it, I hope you’ll understand” You nod in agreement and retreat from the discussion.
>>
>>4189759
Valentina is apparently chatting up incredibly red Haven who seems to be wishing for the ground to split apart and swallow her to protect her from embarrassment. As you approach, the goddess turns to you with a smile, but it causes you to feel a jolt of fear for some reason. “…speaking of which, she comes to us. Hello, Agatha, we’ve just been talking about you. I hope you’ve enjoyed the party” You exchange the pleasantries as Haven is trying to politely sneak away but Val is not really letting her. “You are such a powerful and reliable person. Your companion admires you so deeply. Shame that you don’t seem to realize… her true thoughts on the matter…” you can hear weak “…please don’t…” from Haven which causes Val to giggle. “So, tell me Agatha, how is it to be the newest of Nika’s… favorites?” Oh wow. You tell her that you are just friends at the moment. “Just friends? It’s a shame, but what does your “at the moment” mean?” she grins. “Nika has been quite lonely for the last century, I thought that maybe you could brighten her existence a little? Just a little thought…” You blush slightly and roll your eyes which causes the goddess to laugh. “Oh, you two are just so adorable. So, can I get you something?”

And on this note I have to pause for now. To compensate for a short thread, I think this time we would be doing the discussion framework again. Feel free to ask or say something to anyone and I will reply as soon as I can during the week. But then again, OOC questions, suggestions and discussions are also welcome. Thank you once again for joining me for the game and I hope you’ve liked it.

"W-wine is fine thank you."

While she goes we talknto Haven
"Don't worry Haven, I got you."
"She's....dangerous..."
Ask if she is alrigh, share a drink with her and ask her what she thinks of them, what's her impression. Try to get her mind out of the embarassment and working again.

Ask if she heard anyone talking about us.

Then we can ask the related gods what they know about the giant mountain monster we spotted.
Ask if we will meet Ignis eventually.

I'll think more questions later.
Thanks for running.

"W-wine is fine thank you." You reply to Val who nods and leaves you for a bit giving you an opportunity to approach Haven and talk to her. “…you alright? Don’t worry, Haven, I’ve got you” you tell her, to which she meekly nods and says “…she’s dangerous, Ag.”. Hah, yeah, no shit. You guess that it probably comes from her overpowering mind powers, or maybe people like her are more likely to have those available to them. In any case, she is out of the way for a few minutes so you can give her some comfort and to hear what she thinks. “Honestly, I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be here, Ag. It is barely fitting in my head that gods would do something like that. This is not how gods are supposed to look like or act, and I honestly fear of voicing or even… thinking of my opinions right now, I’m sorry.” You nod in understanding and then ask “Was anyone talking about me?” She thinks for a bit and says “Not many of them, no. Samael has been talking about something very lucrative that arrived from far East, Belkh had a discussion about construction that I was too ignorant to follow… there was one thing that I assume was about you. Verdandi went to talk with Elspeth and Yawgmoth soon after the talk with you, but I couldn’t follow her because I was…”
>>
>>4197067
“Intercepted by me, yes?” says Val as she appears from thin air catching you by surprise. “Curiosity killed the cat, but if you two are so curious, it was indeed about you, Ag. As you might have probably guessed, Vera wanted to probe you a bit more with her powers to find out how exactly you affect precognition, and I think she has received what she wanted and even told you a bit about it. We don’t really talk about you mostly because you were a subject of discussion for weeks, Agatha. We basically exhausted you as a subject for now, so to say. In any case, here’s your wine, Ag. It is Zinfandel, or as close to it as Nina could manage. I think you’ll like it. And for your companion here is Riesling, since she is a little bit of a sweet tooth” says the goddess and passes the two of you a pair of glasses filled with wine. You don’t know much about the wine, only that yours is red wine while Haven received white wine instead which is presumably sweeter. You take a sip, and it is pretty good, but you don’t have anything to compare the experience to. “My presence can be a bit… oppressive so to say, and I feel like you are intimidated by me so I’ll leave you two for now. If you want to chat feel free to find me. Chao for now…” After which she calmly walks away.

After a little bit of time needed to get back on track with your thoughts you end up finding Nike’ again as you had a couple of new questions arise in your head. “Hey, Ag. Wow, by your face expression I can see that you’ve just met Val. She tends to have that effect on people. For some reason she considers it amusing. Regarding Ignis, he’s not that good with people and he is a bit of a loner, but I think he might eventually come out to see you. And about that monster you’ve described… Welcome to what I had to deal with on the monthly basis once I woke up. That’s what was wandering around the world kicking over villages. There are few of them left, but each one of them is a pain to kill and a walking natural disaster if awoken. All I can recommend you is to be careful if you plan to do anything near it.”
>>
>>4197072

I do in fact, there are several villages of people that I want to protect around there, short of relocating them, which I find difficult because of all those cultural things, what can you recommend to me to NOT wake up the thing?
>>
>>4197097
“There is no way of knowing what triggers the creature without… triggering it. While most Ceilings who tracked anything but radio died out, this thing can be awoken by anything. From radio waves, CO2 and industrial chemical emissions, forestation loss, heat sources and population densities to stuff like perceived threats to itself or even sufficiently loud noises. So, my suggestion would be not to touch the area in general until you can deal with it. This sucks, I know, but that’s all I’ve got for you at the moment, sorry. Also from what I understand you might want to keep it so it props up against Holies and Valistrat expansion into the region so it might just work out. I just hope that your city proposal is far enough away from it”
>>
>>4197127
>>4197127
"yeah, the city is far enough, I'll see what I can do to those guys there, I won't leave them hanging at least.

so your day job is stopping natural disaster level beasts from wiping whole regions hum? impressive I say, I bet it would look awesome in a resumé, I'd hire you in a heartbeat."

after we finish talking with her we should look for Samael too

Tell her that we hired some merchants and would like to hear her input or advice on what to trade on that specific region, if that would not be a bother.

Ask Verdandi if that guy is waking up anytime soon from her predictions

Greet Val again, say we are sorry for that first talk and that we would like to know more about her, was she involved in the project of the pods or was she a volunteer?
>>
>>4197141
Had a rough day, I'll reply tomorrow. Quick question though, which guy specifically? Ignis?
>>
>>4198962
The mountain giant monster
>>
>>4197141
“Hah, I’m sure you would. Although now it happens much rarer, more like once every 5-6 years but it is still pretty nasty…” says Nike’ and you spend a few more minutes chatting with her until you come up with some new subjects and start chatting other people up. First of all, you go to Vera since you’ve just discussed that subject with Nika. You ask her if she can see when the mountain giant would wake up. She asks you to give her a minute and her eyes start glowing slightly as she focuses. “…I don’t think that it would wake up on its own. If no one triggers it, the creature limits itself to small scale commands to the surrounding monsters. However, I simulate that if it is triggered now, it would take a beeline straight through the forest towards the village of… Farsalos, I believe. After that it would rampage across the region until taken out. It would take about a day to get there, but I bet you don’t want any of that. It probably knows that it is inhabited for one reason or another, but it is not sufficient for its internal triggers to activate. I highly recommend you to warn the Pantheon if you are planning to do anything that might cause it to wake up because else, we might not have enough time to assemble and get there in force. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you more like what specifically would wake it up as it contains too many unknowns, most of which are connected to you being in the region. Ah also, almost forgot to warn you of one thing: technological progress is inherently destabilizing to most modern cultures. It is one of the reasons why everyone is taking it slow, second is the Ceilings. I don’t think that we’d manage to help you with it if you mess this up, you’re on your own to balance the rate of your progress and the cultural shifts that it would bring. Good luck.”

After you finish with Verdandi, you decide to go see Samael, since you didn’t introduce yourself to her yet. She is laughing about something with Marco as you approach them. “Oh, hey, it is our new beloved guest. Hello, Ag. I’m Samael, but feel free to call me Sam or Sammy, whatever works. I’m the goddess of trade, commerce, business and all of that stuff. I also manage the pantheon’s treasury and advise rulers, banks and guilds across the nation. So, what can this “Eternal Loli” do for you?” She introduces herself and passes her hand for a handshake. Her handshake is surprisingly firm for a 14-year-old. You explain the situation in your region to her and ask her for some business advice. “Ooh, interesting. Let me check the map… So, you have very close access to the dorfs, lots of upcoming elf population, a planned city with industries… You are going to be in a pretty strong position.” She says as she pulls out a tiny hologram projector with the regional map.
>>
>>4200513
“Your region’s main production is focused on mining so raw materials are pretty cheap. Don’t expect unrefined goods like copper to get you much profit. Closeness to Holy Nation also affects the prices of military equipment and tools since they export refined iron and iron goods in significant quantities, but they limit the supply to keep inflated prices so you might crash that market if you export large quantities of iron produce. Oh, Farsalos is far from breadbasket regions of Ceno, your local food costs more than average. Also, Farsalos is as far from main import ports as it gets so supply of certain luxury goods around the area is pretty low, but you can import those from dwarves. In fact, they export everything with exception of food, they lack production capacity so they mostly import that. If you go ham on food you can sell it to dorfs, buy stuff from them, sell it on local Ceno market and get some huge margins…” In general, the discussion ended up quite illuminating, even though this is not really your cup of tea. In the end you gathered what you’ve needed and excused yourself to talk to other people.

You decided to try to approach Valentina once again. You find her sipping some wine near to a table with some tiny sandwiches. A handsome- looking waiter refills her drink as you approach. She smiles in your direction and the waiter quickly and gracefully retreats from view leaving the two of you alone. You apologize to her for the first talk and ask her to tell more about herself. “Apology accepted” she says with a smile. “Well, what can I tell about myself… I’m an ex-CEO of a pharma company no one but me remembers now. We were a part of a pharma group and we got going by producing telomere longevity treatments among the first in the market. They boosted expected lifespan of a human from 60 to 140 years more than without them depending on any pre- existing conditions. My… grandparents and then my dad and his sister died from a type of intestinal cancer that is likely to be inherited and… I guess it scared me. Aging treatment works on age related diseases, it is not a panacea. Cancer can still get you, as can accidents and other things. So that’s how I’ve met Elspeth. For a pretty sizeable donation to the H+ initiative I acquired myself a spot. I wasn’t much in for the transhuman aspect, I just tweaked myself a little and took mostly psychic powers, I’m honestly still not getting how people can be fine with their bodies being replaced to something far from human, but Yaw and Belkh don’t seem to mind so who am I to judge. Well, that’s basically how I got here. Woke up in the middle of nowhere, used some powers to get a cozy position in a small town called Chairli, it is a full-fledged Polis now, and then Nika ran into me during her early adventures which is how I joined the Pantheon. Now I’m the master negotiator of the group, so to say.”

Hey guys, I woke up, but I need to do some chores. At the same time, I kind of depleted what to talk about so I have to ask for you to participate before the post. Alright, I'm home. Preparing the post
>>
>>4201988
The party goes on for some more time and you end up chatting a bit more about the lives you and others had before the pods. For Elspeth and others, it is now close to an old memory, they were around for over a century. For you these events are fresh since you’ve been here for only a bit more than a year. While they refer to those times fondly, it is sometimes difficult for them to remember some specifics. Like you, they miss some things, some have left their friends and even families back in time to be a part of the new world, even if it turned out that the new world is not quite what they were expecting. They don’t regret it though; you guess that it takes a certain type of person to agree for such an experiment.

You thank Elspeth for the warm welcome and you thank Nika for giving you the time and making this as smooth as possible. You tell them that they can count on you if they need any help, even though you expect that they’d probably end up helping you way more. Nike’ laughs and says that maybe one day she’d take you on the word. But for now, it seems that the subjects were getting exhausted and the moot was coming to its logical conclusion. “I promised to show you the psi circuits, right? Follow me” says Elspeth and she takes Nika along as she leads you through the Capital Complex. You take several stairs down and you go through a couple doors until you are led to the side of the corridor into a slightly dusty square room. It has a circle of tables on the sides along with a large table in the middle covered in a number of various items: from various pieces of materials and intricate but primitive- looking scientific instruments to mechanisms of unknown purpose spread over the tables haphazardly.

“Sorry for the mess, Ag, I prefer a little bit of “Creative Chaos”. It is one of my small labs and I haven’t used it for a while…” says Elspeth as she traces a line with her finger in the dust on top of one of the tables. “I hope you don’t mind. I figured it would be the most convenient place to show you how psi circuitry works.” She waves her hand above a tiny slab of metal that has been floating a couple inches above the table which causes it to float down on the surface where she picks it up.
>>
>>4202289
“Basically, psi circuitry mimics what our brains do when using psi abilities. All psi abilities consist out of three main parts: the pattern, the trigger and the energy. You make a pattern in your mind, fill it with energy and then trigger it for the effect to manifest. Similar thing happens with the psi circuits: you have patterns that gather or store energy which are so- called psi batteries, converters and collectors, there are psi effectors that turn energy into an effect in the real world and there is psi logic that governs it all. Hold this.” She says as she passes the metal slab to you. It looks like an average monolithic piece of metal with no distinguishing patterns on it.

“This test piece has a very simple arrangement of psi circuitry. It has a psi collector that takes energy from its surroundings, a psi logic switch and a psi effector that causes it to maintain a relative position to the ground. It is done in the simplest and most robust way which makes it easier to analyze the pattern. Slowly and carefully start pouring energy into the center of the plate to activate it and continue pouring to feel the pattern.” As you do as she says, the piece activates momentarily but it instantly shuts off as it is overloaded with your power and you can finally feel the pattern inside. It is three two- dimensional fractals embedded one above the other that work almost as conductors of psi energy that you push into the device. All three patterns look unfamiliar, but the largest one of them feels… like you’ve seen something like it before. As you dig in your head deeper, you notice that it is very similar to an image in your mind that you almost subconsciously produce as you use your powers. Something that you’ve discarded previously as white noise.
>>
>>4202290
You mimic the pattern and fill it up which… does nothing. You search for why as you comb through the images in your head and it finally strikes you: the pattern lacks a target. Patterns that you’ve used before even for the same “spell” had similar and different elements in them. And through elimination you’ve managed to figure out what part of the pattern describes targeting information and what part describes the effect. Then you modify the pattern from the metal plate in your head and target yourself. As you fill it up, you quickly float up for a couple inches while your body also refuses to tilt as if it was a piece of superconductor over a magnet. By shutting off the power supply, the effect disappears.

“Very nice, congratulations. I see you’ve managed to decode the effector pattern. That fractal in the very center is the psi collector and the pattern that overlaps it and a part of the effector is the logic trigger. Now, let’s try imprinting next.” Elspeth says as she pulls out another slab from the shelf above the table and passes it to you. “I will guide you through this one, you need to basically write the pattern into the slab by pouring energy through it. You don’t need to write flat patterns, they are just simpler for the start and can be imprinted into thin sheets instead of large chunks of matter.” She places her hands on yours and says “Ready when you are, try imprinting something from your head, it doesn’t have to be a copy of the slab…”

Roll 1d20, you can offer a specific “spell” that we’ve done before
>>
Rolled 16 (1d20)

>>4202291

Let's start with something simple

the protective Buble we use to deflect projectiles

or maybe even floating around
>>
Rolled 9 (1d20)

>>4202291
Can we try to make that lightning espeth did? I think we probably can't

If so then let's make a circuit that permits this thing to be controlable for the wearer, like a returning weapon or shield with TK
>>
>>4202291
The spell we used to kill the huge monster, the spell to lift and throw heavy stuff.
>>
Rolled 3 (1d20)

>>4202306
Botched the roll
>>
>>4202304
We can currently only imprint things that we used. We can't use Elspeth's lightning because it was in her head, not ours.
>>
>>4202311
some other spells we can try

Mistify person: when we turned those tribals to mist, either by trying to hold them and crushing or maybe we created a small to explosion inside them that propelled everything inside them outwards

TK blades: exercising pressure in a small point to make it sharp and using it to slice.

some questions that I had for some time and now seems like a good time to ask

can we create heat using TK? accelerating particles or the air in a specific point to absurd speed until heat is created or even combustion

at the same time, freezing stuff by decelerating the molecules and particles making it lose energy output and approach absolute stillness and consequently almost absolute zero temperatures
>>
>>4202297
>>4202304
>>4202309
Alright, writing
>>
>>4202327
We are not capable of changing temperature by directly affecting molecule speeds. TK either works on visible objects or creates a volume of space in which everything is propelled the same way. We can heat up something through friction, but not through the methods you’ve described.
>>
>>4202342
You decide to do something simple, one of the shields that you used previously would work. You want it to project a barrier of pushing force at a certain distance from the slab. You start pushing the energy into the slab trying to draw the pattern in the material. You end up leaving these thick intangible channels for psi energy that the psi circuits are all made out of but once you’re done the pattern doesn’t seem to work after you energize it. You try again and again as Elspeth and Nike’ watch, after which Elspeth pulls out another blank slab and says “This is why it is so difficult to replicate the pattern. You see, all psi circuits are fractals, which means they get more and more of those finer outgrowths that keep getting smaller and smaller. You need a special technique to imprint them and if you can’t use the pattern in your head you can’t imprint it either. If a pattern looks too alien it means that it is of a “school” of psi that you don’t have. You can activate it, but it would be exceedingly difficult to replicate the pattern personally. The more complex it is, the worse it would get. Let me show you how to do it” she says and puts the plate in your hands once again and closes her eyes.

She imprints the pattern with soft pulses of psi current as if she is breathing the energy in and out of the slab. With each “breath” the pattern first forms and then it starts to slowly grow deeper and deeper fractals until in the end you can’t really track the fine details, but in your head, you know that they are there as you know what the pattern should be like. She finishes the process, opens her eyes and smiles. “You see what I’ve done? These tiny fractal patterns are so important that this prevents the circuit from mutating. You always get what you programmed, a mistake means inoperable circuit and not a slightly different effect” You nod as she gives you yet another slab. “Now it is your turn.”

You attempt to mimic her actions and it feels almost as if the pattern draws itself. You visualize it in the slab and your psi energy just naturally flows to copy what’s in your mind into the metal. Minutes later, you are done and a quick test shows that you are successful: you energize the plate and you place an apple over it which causes the fruit to hover as if it is standing on an invisible table. The pattern lacked the energy generation or switches, so once you stopped supplying it with power the effect abruptly ended.

“Splendid. You’ve learned the psi alphabet, now it is up to you to learn how to write with it. It looks easy, but you can probably tell why I insisted on a demonstration. Now, some simple information about the mechanics. You can imprint psi circuitry in any sufficiently solid material. You can’t imprint on water or in the air and imprinting in a jelly would mean that the pattern would often get misaligned. Some materials are better at holding certain types of patterns. You can imprint in three dimensions and in a denser or smaller formation, the limitation is only your skill. Quote on quote “natural” glow- quartz is imprinted with repeating patterns comparable in size to flour, imagine how tedious that would be. And the last thing…” she says as she picks up the plate she has made. A thin line of orange red forms through the center of it and it splits into two halves with the seam glowing red hot. “If pattern integrity is damaged, the pattern dissolves and stored energy gets dumped into the psi field. It means melting or breaking inscribed items permanently removes the circuit from them and bending the pattern makes it inoperable until you restore it to the way in which it was inscribed. You can’t restore shattered inscription by attaching pieces together.”

“Well, that’s about it. Here, I’ll give you some simple logic elements, psi batteries and psi collectors to get you started. From what I’ve seen I assume that you’d enjoy researching further on your own. Feel free to poke me, Yaw or anyone else who knows how imprinting works if you have any questions.” She says as she passes you a thick “book” made of individual metal sheets signed in English with psi circuits that they contain.

“So, I guess it is time to collect your friends and go for a tour?” Asks Nike’. “I kind of promised to show you around, so where would you like to go? I’m sure that other gods would also want to show you some stuff if you chose to see their projects…”

>Yawgmoth’s Forge: the underground industrial level of the Valhalla where Yaw produces and maintains most of Pantheon’s technology
>Belkh’s Yard: large section of the surface level where Belkh tests his architectural prowess. It gets rebuild on a weekly basis
>Ninmah’s Gardens: significant sections of Valhalla’s surface covered in various microbiomes and in some cases greenhouses that house plant goddesses’ projects
>Samael’s Palace: a separate residence of all beloved goddess of money and envy

See if we can grab some "old world" flavors and foods at Nimah's place.

Before we leave Espeth, is there a way to store energy at the thing, like Haven's bracelet does? So that someone who does not have our powers can activate it.

"You can store energy in psi batteries and collectors can refuel those autonomously. Plus you can get activation trigger to work without the need of a direct psi influence that most devices use. So yeah, you can make a device that can be utilized by anyone or even works autonomously like a trap. Almost no one uses triggers designed for mortals though since most SGs have access to psi powers and it prevents random civilians from killing themselves if they come across a lost device. So you know, be careful I guess"
>>
>>4202562
And can Ag make those with her powers? Or we would have to import those parts from Elspeth?
Just thinking we could use those things to make defense measures for our village or even making devices for some defenders or hunters like Sig or Haven.

Another question about those triggers. Can we inprint limitations on them? Limit the power output when used by a mortal trigger so they don't use too much power or make a trigger that can only be activated by a specific person.
>>
>>4202573
Ag can produce all of the elements. Visit "research" next time we run out of immediate tasks for more attempts to utilize the new knowledge. We can totally enhance our armor and armor of our allies, make tk enhanced weapons and produce traps and psi defenses. Issue is that it would be pretty expensive since it can't be mass produced at this point.

Regarding the triggers, you can make a trigger that picks one of two effectors with two different strengths, but here it is more of the same issue as with guns and not allowing people with no concept of guns to shoot themselves. It is also less complicated to do mortal specific devices since they won't need double the effectors of the universal device.

“Maybe let’s start with Ninmah’s gardens?” you reply to Nika who nods and gestures you to follow her. “I’m going to do some… work stuff, you know where to find me” adds Elspeth and leaves your group as you make your way back to the banquet hall where Haven and Rheia who were hanging out. The hall was much more depopulated, many of the gods have left but the food was not yet removed. Haven and Rheia were apparently trying out Nina’s tea, whose creator was describing the process of how she has made it. Ninmah’s tea is a sort of oolong that she spliced and prepared herself, it tastes like no other tea you’ve tried before. You inform her that you would like to see her gardens to which she is overjoyed with and suggests you the specific garden where she managed to create an Amazon rainforest microbiome.

The trip doesn’t take you long thanks to the telekinetic roads, but the massive greenhouse is placed at one of the edges of the Valhalla and takes up no more no less but 1/7 of the entire surface area. Unlike what you’ve expected, it is not a covered building, instead the greenhouse part is supported by a sort of forcefield generator that encloses a roughly oval shape of the microbiome in a bubble. It is lined by a waist high fence of emitter devices that project a light blue almost completely transparent wall that goes up for around 200 meters after which it curves inward and seals the bubble. There are special “gate” buildings on three sides of the structure that serve as entrances into the forested area inside and probably house whatever is needed to keep it in shape.
>>
>>4202875
As you enter, you are met by some of the Nina’s servants. They are a normal- looking Cenophilan men and women wearing clothes in a similar color scheme to the goddess herself and they stand to the sides as they allow you to pass through several doors to get into the rainforest itself. There is a well-maintained wooden road going from one gate to another. The air inside is significantly more humid than outside and you are immediately assaulted by a cacophony of various jungle sounds. “Most of those are Macaws and several species of monkeys, the semi- closed ecosystem on this scale can’t support animals above a certain size. Also, previous generations didn’t want to make too many rare insect and arachnid samples so a lot of stuff here requires regular maintenance. It is a unique insect- free jungle at the moment. The animals are also artificially supplemented with food since we can’t afford to have a third of Amazon worth of land area here to allow them to completely forage for themselves.”

You make your way further down the path. A couple emperor tamarins sitting on the trees were watching your procession and showing their long tongues which is apparently a way they gesture to each other. As you were passing one of the large trees it was absolutely covered in beautiful red and blue macaws who were busy eating some fruits and screaming in their own parrot languages. You remember how your uncle told you about a parrot he once had. It was a yellow crested cockatoo, which is from Australia and not South America, and it liked to scream at 6 am to get someone to talk to. It is one of the reasons why large parrots might not be for everyone, they are very loud. In the end, just a year after getting the bird, his parents had to give it away due to the allergies Dan had. It is a kind of sad story.

“You know, the hardest part in this entire project is the feedback loop.” Says Nina. “Rainforests produce particulates that float up into the air and facilitate rain, but the trees also require rain to survive. You end up with a catch 22 that means that you need a critical mass of rainforest for it to survive on its own. This is nowhere near enough; Yaw’s machinery artificially generates rainfall on a schedule. I wonder how long would it take to resurrect the actual Amazon rainforest…”

One of the macaws flies up to Ninmah, lands below her feet, starts walking around her while looking up and producing some adorable squawks. “Aww, you’re hungry?” she says and pulls out some peanuts from a tiny bag she had on her. The bird jumps and flies up to her shoulder after which it receives a treat, taking the nut in its left leg. The macaw then suddenly gets fascinated by Nina’s halo and tries to touch it with its beak. Nina and Nika laugh and Nina lightly pokes its fluffy belly which causes the bird to fly off her shoulder and head for a nearest tree where it proceeds to have its meal. “You know, I sometimes think that you’d qualify for a Disney princess” Nike’ jokes receiving some giggles from the plant goddesses’ side.

On the way out, you and your companions get to try fresh mango for the… third time in your life. You always thought that the artificial mango flavor was always a bit off, but there were not many opportunities to try the real deal often. Only during the few trips abroad with your parents. It tastes somewhat… nostalgic. At the same time, Rheia’s eyes were sparkling with excitement, she now considers the large fruit very tasty. “So, where next?” Asks Nika. “What about Yaw’s place?” you suggest. “Always wondered how he organizes his stuff”

“Come again sometime!” says Nina and waves to you as you leave her de- extinction experiments and head for one of the entrances to Yawgmoth’s facility. It comes in the form of a building made from a single piece of glossy- white ceramic with a large door on one side and it is apparently the elevator entrance. It has an upscaled version of the TK elevators used in Elspen arcology, so it doesn’t take you much effort to figure out how to use the giant gaping hole in the floor.

The entire underground seems to be separated into dozens of layers that go from the surface of the plateau to the bottom of the ocean most of which are actually empty. Yaw seems to prefer glossy white designs with color coded lines that direct people across the facility and oh boy there are lots of people here. You get off the elevator at the top level which is the administrative layer, according to Nike’. You see dozens of servants scuttling around as Nika leads you through straight corridors in the rough direction of the Capital Complex.

“Yaw’s private quarters are somewhere below the CC as well as the main control facilities and housing for the Cups. Oh, here is one. Hey… Magi, right? Where is your patron?” says Nika as she stops a woman with black hair and blueish grey rubbery armor worn over the body. “Miss Nike’, you’ve finally remembered my name! Yawgmoth is in the fourteenth layer inspecting steel production. I have my own task, my apologies.” She replies and quickly disappears down the corridor. “That was Magi, Ag, she is in the organization staff, very organized girl” says the war goddess and leads you to another elevator where you drop deeper into the glow- quartz illuminated depths of the facility.

Fourteenth layer had a bit different style, more steel and industrial appearance with massive pipe networks in the much higher ceiling. The walls are made partially out of steel, but it is getting a little bit less shiny and the color-coding paint is already getting worn off somewhat. It is also a bit more labyrinthian than the top layer. As you lowered to this layer, you instantly heard the cacophony of the machinery noises. It is likely that there is some kind of psi-based sound suppression system preventing the sound from traveling up the elevators.

The entire floor appears to be dedicated to processing of metals and it has quite obvious pathways for materials in it. Larger psi elevators push raw materials to the far southern edge where they pass through huge enclosed processor “boxes” that perform various stages of refining as they continue their ways over a spaghetti of various conveyor belts at various levels. Flux, ores and coal coke goes in, huge metal ingots go out and get onto the large elevators on the other end which probably haul the resulting metals to their storage or further processing. It appears that this would take you quite some time to find the owner of this metal labyrinth…

And on this note I have to wrap up for today as it is midnight already. As usual, feel free to ask questions, give suggestions and discuss. I imagine that after all of the new information it would be nice to talk about your new opinions on the Ceno pantheon. I hope you’ve enjoyed and I’ll see you next time

Thanks for running

I liked them in general, they seemed friendly and inviting, how kuch of that was Nike and Elspeth doing remains. To be seen

Makaws are cute. I can't even start imagining what kind of horrors would live in an amazonian jungle during this time.
And now, machines to process stuff, maybe one day we'll have something similar
