You’re Genesis Testudinata, a valiant journalist on a mission! You work your damn best for The Lokyo Observer, a modest but well-known newspaper for its investigative journalism.

Weeks ago, your senior and the man you consider your teacher was brutally killed with a baseball bat by unidentified criminals, his skull was shattered into a million pieces in a brutal incident. It was a hit job from the local Mafia, a subsidiary of the Youhao Clan – the biggest mafia group in Pokyo Lokyo. You couldn’t do anything since you were stuck here because there weren’t enough funds to pay for 2 people’s travel expenses.

Your teacher’s name was Wessam Carpetier and he was one of the best in the field, he went to a town in the countryside to investigate the links between the Youhao Clan and the billionaire Price Family. You always felt like it was a personal vendetta of his to discover something on the Prices, but you never knew for sure. His findings gave a completely different twist to the case! But thanks to these happenings, the newspaper decided to stop the investigation as it was too dangerous. Fools! All of them! You won’t let Wessam’s efforts go in vain!

As for his findings, aside from a surveillance camera’s recording of some brawl at night – he found information linking The Cult of Chernobog and the Youhao Clan together! Well, technically it’s the subsidiary family, but it’s Youhao business anyway! They’re working together on something big, something that required kidnapping people – and you’re not only going to find out what it is! No Sir! You’re going to find hard evidence of everything so these damn snakes pay for what they did!

But for hard evidence, you need to investigate one of their bases…

You’re currently at the office, first hour in the morning. You have the skills to infiltrate any place and to make people talk! So you only need to decide where to look.

Where do you want to look into first?

>The Cult’s base inside a Toy Factory.

You’ll have to leave all of your hiking equipment at home because you won’t be needing to trespass anywhere today! Instead, you’re going to do it the easy way, you’re going to find one of the Cult’s higher-ups and interrogate them for answers. But who? You have a few names you can choose from, they have a strict pecking order and you need to get the closest to the top, you need to interrogate one of their Chancellors. But you have to select one who will easily give you all the information you need…

First, you have an old man named Hubbard. At first glance he doesn’t have the appearance of someone important – but in the Cult, your strength is all that matters! Conniving, full of himself and eloquent, getting answers out of him won’t be easy as he’s known to be far too loyal to their cause. But nothing is impossible for you!

Second, there’s a man named Valdemar Bruun, he’s awfully quiet and nobody has ever seen him speak in public. Maybe he can’t stand the press! So he should be an easy target, right? Wessam always said that you should target inexperienced people, they easily blurt out information when they don’t want to.

Third, a bald man named Foroutan. It’s an open secret that he’s the brains of their operations! A witty but unlikeable man who’s not afraid of letting you know that you’re bothering him. He must know everything you want to know, but he wouldn’t be in the position he’s in if he couldn’t keep a secret.

Finally, you have their own leader, Bernardo Ammirati! He loves talking to the press and the public ever since he came to light as their leader. You have no doubts you would be able to get an interview with him. But he’s known as a charming man who never comes out bad from any public appearance! He would be a difficult challenge, but now’s not the time to have doubts!

There are a couple of other members you could look for, but it’s next to impossible to find them right now. But you could try.

Who do you go for?

>Hubbard.
>Valdemar Bruun.
>Foroutan.
>Ammirati.
>Vivienne Neuville. A Chancellor College student, she probably moved out of town.

Isn’t it obvious? One of them is easy prey! Tight lips are no problem for you! Valdemar Bruun will be your first target, he’s the 2nd oldest serving member of the cult so he must have what you need!

Now, without the work you’ve already put into this investigation any of these men would be hard to track. But that’s where your journalist expertise shines! Inside your laptop is all the information you compiled about them, where you can find them and such.

Valdemar Bruun, he graduated from Red Tulip Highschool without any honors, he used to work as a security guard despite his small frame for a couple of months until he ultimately joined the cult. When he’s not busy doing his work, he’s often seen passing his time near the biggest homeless shelter in the city or in a known homeless hotspot located in a huge vacant lot. You’ll look into them! Time to move!

He’s banned from the homeless shelter, you didn’t even have to ask the old lady in charge about it. There’s a billboard with his picture there that says it plain as day. If you don’t think this is a bad signal, you might as well resign as a journalist.

Now you move to the homeless hotspot, it is as big as everyone says; it’s an illegal camp full of homeless people! There are many tents, badly built little houses and such. Most of the homeless men and women here are pretty friendly since there are many government programs to get you an actual place to live if you somehow find yourself in extreme poverty – meaning that many of the people here are here by choice.

There’s a legend about a homeless group of people called ‘Los Iluminados’ who for all intent and purposes sell information about the inhabitants in this country like a secret network of spies. It would be useful, but sadly it’s all fairy tales. Besides, if you wanted to use untrustworthy sources, you would contact that super informant T.T. Neko or the Psi Xi Pi guys or any deep web freak you could find…

What a strange tangent you got yourself into…

You continue your investigation by walking around. Before any of the homeless men get near you, you hear a little commotion coming from the other side of the homeless plaza. Your hunch tells you to get there, asap!

And there he is… It’s Valdemar Bruun and he’s toying with a couple of homeless men like a highschool bully would do… He doesn’t seem very friendly.

What do you do?

>“Excuse me, Mr. Bruun. Can you give me a minute of your time?” Ignore what’s happening and distract him with your journalism.
>“You continue that and I’m going to call the police!” Help the homeless men! Wessam always said not to sacrifice your morals for a scoop.
>“Yeah, beat him up!” Pretend to be evil to gain his trust. If you follow all of Wessam’s advice, you’ll end up just like him.

>Valdemar Bruun will be your first target, he’s the 2nd oldest serving member of the cult
And the first oldest is Bernie himself, or is he not included because he's the founder and technically would be member 0 or some shit? Then either Valdemar IS the first Cult member if Bernie himself counts, or there was somebody in the Cult that came before him. Who could it be?
>graduated from Red Tulip Highschool without any honors
Red Tulip, huh? Who do we know in DYBQ that went to that school? Scarlet? Somebody else? I know there's been like 5 or 6 fucking schools in Pokyo Lokyo all named and themed after colors and things. Red Tulip High School is one. Green Foothill High School is the one Johnny goes to as well as a few other characters. There was uhhh Blue E-something High School. Purple something. Yellow something. Maybe one more if I'm not misremembering?
>used to work as a security guard despite his small frame for a couple of months until he ultimately joined the cult
Security guard WHERE? Maybe this could be important...
>often seen passing his time near the biggest homeless shelter in the city or in a known homeless hotspot located in a huge vacant lot
That Marcus Sanchez a.k.a. Barry the Hobo who was on the white flames' side was also with the homeless, and so was Nariko. Maybe they knew each other, or stayed with their own separate homeless groups? Interesting.
>He’s banned from the homeless shelter
>There’s a billboard with his picture there that says it plain as day.
Red flags already...
>it’s an illegal camp full of homeless people! There are many tents, badly built little houses and such
They do live in a dictatorship after all. But so many people left Pokyo Lokyo after Judgment Day and the N.U. forces occupying the capital, right? You would think a lot more people would be raiding abandoned tenements to squat there, or something else instead of continuing living like this. Maybe something's up?
>Most of the homeless men and women here are pretty friendly since there are many government programs to get you an actual place to live if you somehow find yourself in extreme poverty – meaning that many of the people here are here by choice.
Oh yeah, muh "lenient dictatorship". Figures! Must be a lot of reasons to be willingly homeless then in this setting?
>‘Los Iluminados’
>a secret network of spies
>sadly it’s all fairy tales
She should talk to a certain Alfred Brown about that shit.

You decide to intervene! Albeit, for your own gain…

“Excuse me, Mr. Bruun. Can you give me a minute of your time?” You hate being polite with ruffians like him, but it’s your job more often than not. You intend to get closer, but there are too many people around him to make your way through.

“Wait…” Valdemar kicks one of the homeless men away and grabs another one, he takes something from the man’s pocket… It’s a wallet! He is a high school bully after all! All for cold cash, how cruel is this world!? “Don’t try to do something like that again.” He pushes the indigent person away like the other one. The homeless men who were being terrorized scatter away aimlessly.

Huh, so they stole something from Valdemar? Maybe you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover… It’s not like you had any evidence to believe otherwise or anything… Nope, not at all.

“Who are you?” Valdemar makes a quick judgment of your appearance and looks disappointed. To your surprise, he seems willing to talk! This is one of the easiest interviews you’ve gotten since you can remember.

What do you do?

>Tell him you’re a reporter and wish to interview him! Be direct and honest! You’ll get the answers you need if you do this like any other interviewer.
>Tell him you’re interested in joining their cult, but you don’t know if you should – and would like to hear his opinion. You’re a good actor, but you don’t know how far this will get you.
>Tell him this is no place to talk and invite him to drink a cup of coffee! Be really friendly before going deeper.

“I’m a possible future recruit to your cause! Yes, I’m interested in joining your cult, but I’m not fully convinced just yet.” You’ll play the part of a possible cultist prospect.

“So?” Valdemar’s mood doesn’t change. He’s not really interested in getting new followers.

“I would like to hear your opinion on the matter.” You press forward.

“My opinion? Just do it.” Convincing argument there, Mr. Bruun…

“I-I don’t know if that can fully convince me...” You want to play this up.

“Then go to one of our meetings.” Valdemar is being too dense to crack!

You already went along with this idea! You can’t turn back now! He doesn’t seem suspicious of you, and looks a little less annoyed than before. Well, he’s struggling to talk with how swollen his face is, so he wants to keep the conversation short. You need to take this all into account!

How do you respond?

>“I honestly don’t know what to do. Can you tell me how to join?” Ask him for more facts.
>“A meeting? Why? I have you here! If you can’t convince me, no one can! I know you know better than anyone why this is a good idea!” Praise him!

“A meeting? Why? I have you here! If you can’t convince me, no one can! I know you know better than anyone why this is a good idea!” You’ll make him talk with your praise.

“Doesn’t mean anything if I can’t explain it.” Valdemar is strangely humble in this aspect. You take notes!

“Y-You won’t know unless you try.” You’re starting to feel that the conversation is finally going somewhere.

“Just go to our meetings.” Valdemar looks disgruntled.

“Please, Valdemar!”

“You’re pushy.” Valdemar doesn’t like that.

“I-Imagine what a great asset I could be if you have me on your side!” Now you’re doing a sale’s pitch.

“Being obnoxious is not an asset.” Bruun is just not having it.

While his mood is deteriorating, he’s answering all of your questions! He’s keeping them short though. Maybe he doesn’t want to give a long winded explanation because of the state of his face. You should play around that! Well, after proving your worth…

How do you respond?

>“You say pushy, I say I get people talking! That’s pretty good for a cult, right?” Prove that you’re useful!

“Do you need to go somewhere else, Mr. Bruun?” You better change subjects before you make him grumpier.

“Yes.” Valdemar responds without hesitation.

“I see, can I ask why?” You need to get something out of him.

“I need to find someone.” Valdemar tries to make himself look busy so you can leave him be.

“Here?” You aren’t done just yet.

“Where else?” Valdemar is still annoyed. You're being too much of a bother.

“Can I go along with you? Your words didn’t convince me, but your actions might.” You propose.

“Will that keep your mouth shut?” Valdemar wants this clarified. He's being a little hostile...

Whatever he’s attempting to find or do doesn’t seem to be a big deal if he’s going to let you go with him. It might be dangerous and counterproductive, but it’s better than just plainly stopping at this point.

How do you respond?

>“Yeah, I will for now!” You will silently follow along.
>“I would like to know who you are trying to find before agreeing.” Take as much information as you can.

“I would like to know who you are trying to find before agreeing.” You need to take as much information as you can.

“…” Valdemar glares at you.

“…” You stare back to show him that you’re willing to go along with what he has planned if he’s honest with you.

Valdemar walks past you, effectively and completely ignoring you!

He’s fed up with you, plain and simple. Or he just realized he doesn’t need to answer any of your queries. Either way, he might not be the most talkative of guys, but he was being honest this entire time – and that’s invaluable in an interviewee. Despite that, you didn’t get any important information…

What do you do?

You will silently and respectfully follow him as he does his deed. As you start tagging alongside, Valdemar stopped completely to glare at you once again, you stood your ground and didn’t do anything – in response, he just continued walking as if nothing happened. It was a tense moment that you’re glad passed.

Valdemar took quick glances inside the tents and poorly made shacks, most of the homeless people inside them just looked at him for a second, then did nothing until he closed the entrance. It was like this for a few minutes, you kept quiet the whole time, not even a quip came out of your mouth – something you know he appreciated.

And at long last, Valdemar seems to have found what he was looking for…

“…” Valdemar doesn’t say a word as he stares at a wounded middle-aged guy at the end of the tent.

“You came to kill me?” The strange homeless man sounds sassy. He’s twitching abnormally, it’s not the type of reaction one would make if you’re hurting. “I won’t go away without a fight…”

Valdemar puts his hand in front of you, indicating that you should stay back.

W-What do you do?

>“What’s going on?” Ask Valdemar! This might end up distracting him.
>“Hey, you, are you okay?” Ask the homeless man! This might end up distracting him.

Hesitantly, you step back to see how things unfold without your meddling.

Not even a second after you made your decision, Valdemar and the homeless man appear ready to fight. You need to pay attention to what’s happening before you make your move!

But…

You wish you never saw what you just witnessed.

You have no idea what magic trick Valdemar pulled, but the homeless man’s chest was open up and blood started to splat out of the hole, one of his eyes was pulled out from his eye socket and…

You couldn’t keep watching. This just happened, none of them moved a finger.

Your legs feel wobbly…

You’re confused and sick to your stomach…

What happened…?

The homeless man didn’t even scream or make a noise, all you could hear was the sounds of his body being torn apart.

“You saw it all.” Valdemar is standing next to you. There is not even a drop of blood on his body. “I can’t leave you here.”

“W-What are you going to do to me..!?” You screech, gaining some homeless people’s attention but they ultimately decide to ignore you. All hope seems lost, is this the end of the line!? Are you going to end up like your master...

“I-I didn’t! Hehe, sign me right up!” It’s been a while since you cracked from the pressure… You feel like something is pushing you towards Valdemar.

“Follow me.” Valdemar’s temper gets better as he starts walking away.

You really want to go with him, but you’re wobbling all over the place – your legs refuse to cooperate right now.

“What’s wrong?” Is Valdemar worried about you?

“I-I’m a little bit shaky, that’s all!” You pretend that it’s fine.

“Not used to the blood?” Valdemar wonders.

“Y-You could say that…” You won’t pretend otherwise.

“Here. Hang on.” Valdemar seems willing to carry you on his back. You have no other option but to comply. “You’re trembling.”

“I-I’m sorry…” You can only apologize.

“Your lack of discipline is fine for now.” Is Valdemar giving you reassuring words? He’s terrible at it…

Either way, Valdemar carries you away from the vacant lot to his car parked outside of a little store. Nothing fancy, in fact, it’s a kind of a below average black car if you’re going to be stingy about it. He drops you in the passenger seat and puts the seatbelt on, he already knows you barely can move anymore – the shock took a toll on your body.

You don’t know how long it took, but you’re in some kind of spa right now! Maybe Valdemar took you here because he saw how nervous you were? He’s kind of nice now that you're one of the cult’s followers… It’s not like you’ve signed anything yet, you know for sure they have some sort of contract to join them officially.

“Well, Miss Testudinata, we’re going to need you to sign here!” The enthusiastic receptionist asks you after talking with Valdemar.

“Uhm… With this I’ll officially join, right?” You just want to make sure you know what you’re signing up for.

“Yes! And with it a free spa session!” The receptionist smiles. “Courtesy of Mr. Bruun.” Valdemar is standing next to the door, you’re feeling an immense amount of pressure on your head – like there’s something standing on top of you.

“S-Sounds nice…” You sign it because you don’t see a way out for now.

The receptionist guides you to another spa room. There are a couple of massage tables, some fish tanks mounted on the walls and the ambience just makes you feel relaxed already. Like the pressure you felt before is all gone and no expert has even done anything to you yet! You lay on one of the tables just as instructed and wait for the massage therapist…

As soon as the receptionist steps out. Metal bracelets emerge around and trap you in their claws! You can’t move anymore! Half of the table tilts partially upwards! You try struggling but there’s nothing you can do…!

“Help! HELP!” You start shouting to no avail. You need someone’s help! Wessam! Sven! Your mom! Your dad! ANYONE! That bastard Valdemar, he never trusted you! This is a TRAP!

On the wall directly in front of you, part of its panels move aside to reveal a TV screen! A countdown displays…! Then the real show begins…

“Hello! I’m YUNG-P! I’m a musician and a friendly face to you and everyone else...”

You…

You don’t remember much…

A fight was lost, your body crumbled…

The tournament began, you were one of the first to travel back to this world…

You’re searching for someone… Who is this someone?

You don’t care about the tournament. You don’t know what it is even for.

Your mind is starting to work again… But it’s hard to keep going.

It’s been a couple of months since you got here.

You made a pact, the body is in your control, you don’t know how to use it just yet – but you’re doing your best. Its owner… doesn’t want it anymore.

Food ran out, you need to acquire more. It’s something you need for the body to keep going…

(Disclaimer: Similarly to Bradford Jr.’s quest. The entity knows which place is which, what stuff is what and all that stuff. All for simplicity sake.)

You’re currently in a cubical room… Objects are all spreaded around. There is no more food in the refrigerator.

What do you do?

>Explore the realm outside for food and beverage.
>Look around the cube to gather information. Maybe you’ll remember why you are here.
>Talk with the owner of the body. Inquire about how to proceed.

You delve into the mind of the body… Darkness shrouds the world around you. The owner is floating around aimlessly, just like last time.

“Hello.” You speak.

“…” The owner remains silent.

“I wish to speak to you.” You speak again.

“I gave you what you wanted, leave me alone.” The owner is irritated.

“There are questions I need you to answer.”

“Are you going to continue pestering me if I don’t?”

“It’s fairly obvious that I will.”

“…Then ask away.” The owner knows there aren’t any other options.

What do you want to ask?

“Why did you give up?”

Give… Up…? That’s right…” The owner is in a state of shock.

“That is what I wish to know.” Weren’t you here for the food?

“Leave me alone…” The owner doesn’t want anything to do with you. “I don’t want to remember anymore.” Yet you wish the opposite for yourself.

“Please, it is of the most utmost importance that I know the reason why you willingly lend me your body.”

“Why do you care?! Leave me alone! ALONE…!” A strong force comes from her mouth and makes you float away…!

You appear to be back outside of the mind of the body. The owner found out the way to expel you from her thoughts.

She’s hurting and you still wish to know why.

But there are more pressing matters at hand.

What do you do?

You fear for the owner’s wellbeing, perhaps you should look around the cubical room for information about her. Moving your arms around is proving difficult, your dexterity is still lacking but your vision makes up for it. There are many objects lying around this small place, like newspapers, empty metal cans, smelly clothes and more. Nothing that directly has ties with the Owner. Except for one thing.

A framed picture was under a pile of clothes. It’s the owner, a burly man and a kid. Your body feels sadness while staring at it.

Not only sadness, but hunger. Your stomach has made the funny noise again. Food is now required.

You continue looking around and find nothing you can easily recognize as helpful.

What do you do?

It’s imperative that you satisfy the body’s needs, you’ll leave your other concerns for later. You need to explore the outside for food and beverage. You haven’t practiced walking all that much, and if it’s anything like using your arms – this will be quite difficult. You can always resort to crawling if it gets overwhelming.

You step out of your cubical room and see a hallway with multiple doors that lead to other cubical rooms, and a set of stairs going downwards. You assume that’s where the exit is judging by the infrastructure.

Crawling down the stairs proves to be more efficient and safer than walking, your legs also hurt less this way. You went down a couple of sets to a new larger room, this time with one big door as the only exit – you haven’t been in contact with another human so far, but you expect that’s going to change soon once you go through the door.

It’s dark outside, there are people walking on two legs around, vehicles moving rapidly and shiny billboards and signs everywhere. You feel overwhelmed by the information.

You must obtain food and beverage for the body, but you should be cautious, you have to select the appropriate human being to interact with or else you’re going to be in trouble. You still need to help the owner of the body and to find that someone

There are a couple of people just standing in place, those will be easier to approach – you’ll analyze who would be the best option:

-There is a small framed human (at least compared to the rest) standing distracted, the closest to you. He has a relaxed demeanor. And looks beatable in a potential fight.

-There is a tall, unfriendly looking human sitting on a bench, he’s the only one who actually has food in their grasp right now. Worth giving it a shot.

-This human… Looks so wildly different than the others that you cannot help but to get distracted by it. So maybe?

Tough pick. Either get Soh Futaki some relevance in the fucking quest, or pick the Calamity family member that Alfred knows and get him to link this lady to the Prices, and go from there. Toss up between DYBQ relevance through Soh or SPR relevance through the Calamity person, though soon she'll be a valuable player both quests.

You have selected your target, now it’s the time to approach him – you decide to blend in with the others and walk over there. You really haven’t mastered this move, but seeing the rest of the humans doing it so well makes you think you’ll stand out unnecessarily if you don’t.

But nobody around seems to pay you any mind. You’re now standing in front of the small framed human.

“Gah…Blegh…” You don’t know how to talk just yet. “Food…

The human didn’t notice you at first, but now tilts his head from the phone in his hands to you.

“Excuse me, did you say something?” The human sounds polite and concerned.

You can’t seem to be able to string a sentence together. So how can you communicate with him?

“Give… Food…”

“A-Are you okay, lady?” The diminutive human steps back. He didn’t get it.

“Food…” You repeat.

“I don’t have change on me, sorry.” He politely apologizes.

“Food.” You wish you could form a sentence.

…Your stomach made the funny sounds again.

“Oh, wait, you’re actually hungry! I thought you were trying to do something else. Follow me.” The human walks towards a vending machine. He puts a card inside and takes a sandwich from it. “Here.” He hands it to you.

“Thanks…” You grab it and start eating instantly. Your body enjoys the taste a lot. This will leave you satisfied for a couple of hours, you need more for later. “More…”

“More? So it wasn’t enough, huh?” The little human procures another sandwich for you. “My name is Soh, nice to meet you.” He says as he hands you another sandwich.

“…” You don’t remember your name or know the owner’s. You take the sandwich and hide it under your shirt, it’s for tomorrow.

“Huh… So you want to save it for later?” Soh looks worried. “Is that fine with you? I can help you get to the homeless shelter, it’s not far from here – you’ll get more food and a place to stay there.”

You already have a home, but no guarantee on food...

What do you do?

“No…” You shake the body’s head. “Follow… You…”

“W-Wait, you mean you want to follow me around…?” Soh is shocked.

“Yes.”

“W-Why? The shelter will be way more helpful…”

“You… give… food…” You’re still not used to talking. You’re also twitching a bit.

“T-The shelter does as well.” Soh isn’t having it. “Maybe I should talk to a policeman...” He mutters to himself.

“You… help… I… help.” You’re trying to make a deal here. You need the body to be well. This sandwich will not last long.

“You definitely need someone more useful than me. You’re not doing well and it shows.” Soh is worried about your wellbeing. If he provides food and shelter, that’s enough.

Perhaps you should convince him somehow. Humans are social creatures, so solidarity is something common – but you don’t know how to show him that you want to join his pack.

What do you do?

“Aggh… Shelter… Scary…” You still can’t formulate sentences yet. You don’t understand why it is so difficult. “I… trust… you.”

“So something bad must have happened to you there, you don’t look like your regular homeless person so I can see why.” Soh is thinking this through. “This is hard… I can’t let you go in good conscience. But I don’t know what to do with you…”

“Please.”

“Okay, for the time being you can come with me… Please follow.” Soh agrees in the end.

“Thanks.”

“You seem to understand me perfectly, but you have some sort of speech impediment, right? Or at least, you stick to one word replies...”

“Yes.” What a nice surprise, Soh gets it.

“I see, I should formulate my questions for simple answers of yes or no.” Soh is working on something for you. “But what do I do with you…?”

“Help…” You only want food and shelter.

“Yeah, of course. But that isn’t what I’m referring to… I’m just talking out loud.”

“Sorry.”

“You don’t need to be.” Soh smiles, but then he finally notices. “You walk kind of… strange.”

“Sorry…”

“Don’t be. You can lean on me if you need to.”

You use Soh’s head as leverage.

“Thanks.” For your standards, this is much better.

“I-It’s nothing.” The little man sounds flustered. “Mmm… I’ll need to disguise you if I want to take you to the dorm. Maybe it would be better if I call her instead, she always gets me out of peril. But Henry told me if I encountered something strange, I should call him… What do I do…?” Soh is thinking about what step to take next.

Maybe you could give him some input.

“Call... agh… person… reliable.” You don’t seem to be getting better at speaking.

“Oh, you don’t need to worry about what I’m saying. But I’ll take your advice anyway.” Soh takes his phone out and starts talking to the air again for a minute or so. One of his quirks, maybe. “…Well, she’s coming over. Let’s wait for her over there, shall we?” Soh points at a bench in the park close by.

“Yes.” You accept his proposition, your feet are hurting – the body demands a rest.

Soh helps you get the body comfortable on the cold bench, and then sits left to you. You take the sandwich from underneath your shirt and offer it to Soh, he politely rejects it and tells you that he’s not hungry. You start eating the sandwich.

“You know, you remind me of someone…” Soh begins to talk.

“Nom. Nom. Nom.” You make the appropriate noise to let him know that you’re too busy eating to continue the conversation properly.

“It was a girl just like you. But she was taller, with black hair, wore a beanie and… younger than you.” Soh closes his eyes to reminisce about this other human.

“Nom. Nom. Nom.” His description doesn’t match the body’s in the slightest. Soh might not be as reliable as you thought if he thinks your descriptions match somehow.

“She was a homeless person too. We used to talk a lot, me more than her, I used to feed her every now and then because she wasn’t having a good time at the shelter just like you. I knew she was in trouble and then… she just disappeared. Never knew what happened to her. I was afraid of getting involved too much with a stranger, but I ended up doing more harm than good.” Soh looks down. “I didn’t want to make the same mistake with you…”

“I… understand.” The body enjoyed that sandwich. You lick your fingers to get more of the flavor. “Thanks.”

“Haha, don’t say something like this while doing that!” Soh smiles. The body wanted to enjoy the sandwich to its fullest, you just did what was necessary to do so.

“…So, Soh. Is this the pressing matter you wanted to talk about?” An unfriendly looking girl appears and asks Soh directly. Her demeanor reminds you of the guy you saw on the bench an hour or so ago. But you have the bench now, you’re in a powerful position.

“Yes, Matilda. You see…” Soh starts explaining the recent events from his point of view. The words he used to describe you were: scruffy, eccentric, weird and likeable. You have no further comments. “…And that’s it.”

“What a long-winded explanation just to tell me that you’re helping a strange homeless woman from the streets.” The girl in front, whose name is Matilda, states the facts. “You don’t know what to do with her, correct?”

“Yeah…” Soh admits.

“I can take her to my dojo or we can fancy our chances and try to sneak her inside your dorm. It’s going to cost you regardless of what you pick.” Matilda explains.

“Hmm… The dojo deal is going to be expensive, right?” Soh wonders.

“Yes.” Matilda responds without hesitation.

“That’s… Uhm…” Soh is deep in thought.

Maybe you could give him some input.

“I… go… if… Ngh… trust… her.” You believe that should be understandable enough.

“I do. If there is anyone you can fully trust, it’s her.” Soh gives you reassuring words.

“I’m a professional indeed. And don’t worry, I have experience in this field.” Matilda is proud of this fact. “But her behavior concerns me. Soh, accompany us to the dojo and explain to me in detail what her deal is on our way there.”

“S-Sure! With gusto.” Soh smiles. And the three of you walk to your new shelter…

During the walk, Matilda took a notepad out and started to write down everything Soh was talking about. If only you were able to express yourself properly to save them the trouble. You confirmed Soh’s explanation of your speech impediment as well. Now Matilda appears to have a complete understanding of your erratic behavior.

You and Soh stand outside of the new shelter as Matilda is opening the main door. After opening it, she rests her body on the frame waiting for you. Which means…

“Thanks.” You once again feel a special amount of debt to Soh. You stop holding his head.

“I’m going to visit tomorrow, don’t you worry.” Soh promises. “Matilda scolded me for not asking you before, but what’s your name?”

“No… Name.” You shake your head. You don’t know the owner’s or your own.

“That’s… going to be a problem, isn’t it?” Soh looks at Matilda.

“Indeed, I would prefer if you come up with something.” The emotionless Matilda responds.

“M-Me?” Soh is really surprised.

“Yes, you’re right. I shouldn’t ask you.” Matilda is now looking at you. “What do you want us to call you?”

“San… Wich.” It’s a fitting name after everything that has happened so far.

“…Could you repeat that again?” Matilda lost a little of her composure.

“San Wich.” You respond quickly this time. Your linguistic abilities are improving!

“W-While my fears of you not understanding the meaning of the words that come out of my mouth are gone, your cognitive capacity concerns me now.” Matilda doesn’t appear to want to do this anymore. “We’ll have to rectify it. Free of charge, of course.”

“Matilda, it’s just a name, it’s no big deal.” Soh is understanding of your choice. “Just don’t say it too fast!”

“Do you understand that this name is nothing but ridicule?” Matilda is now very concerned about your wellbeing.

“Yes.” Not really, but you like it.

“…I believe it’s nothing of my concern then.” Matilda sighs loudly as she awaits for you to come inside the shelter.

“Goodbye.” You once again thank Soh for what he did.

“See you tomorrow.” Soh waves goodbye.

As you step inside, Matilda was waiting very close to the main door to close it. She looks at you from top to bottom.

“I’m going to introduce myself again, my name is Matilda Spice, the owner of this dojo and I’ll take care of you from this point onwards. If you require any help or have any questions, don’t hesitate to come to me. There is another man living in here, but I’m going to instruct him to leave you be – so don’t feel concerned about him. Oh, and like Soh wanted me to mention, yes, I’ll provide you with food and drinks. But…” Matilda coughs. “I do believe you need to take a shower and change your clothes first.”

“Understood.” You get everything she’s saying. You remember the only thing the Owner taught you was how to use the bathroom and take a shower. You never found a shower inside your cubical room, but there was a toilet. The body needed to–

“Do you need any assistance with this task?” Matilda broke your train of thought.

“Yes.” You admit.

“Understood. Follow me.” Matilda grabs your arm and drags you around. She’s a little more forceful than Soh. The body doesn’t appreciate it. “Any preferences about your appearance?”

You wish you had the picture with you now...

How do you respond?

“I… Agh… comfortable…” You want the body to be as comfortable as possible.

“No, that won’t do.” Matilda shakes her head as she continues dragging you around someplace.

“Comfortable… want…” You try to explain.

“…You want to be comfortable?” Matilda noticed the incongruity of the things you’re saying.

“Yes.” You think she’s getting it.

“I see.” Matilda has found her answers. You’ll trust her from this point on.

Matilda took you to the bathroom, took the body’s clothes off and cleaned it with warm water. You felt useless as everything you tried to do was completely shut down by Matilda, you knew you were in the way despite Matilda sounding understanding of your plight.

Then it happened, while Matilda was scrubbing the body’s back, one of your memories triggered:

Your old body…

That Someone…

You were tired that day… you got hurt…

That Someone was cleaning your wounds…

You didn’t want that Someone to find out…

But nothing bad happened. You remember that Someone’s smile.

Your mind is healing…

“Thank you…” The words don’t sound as machinelike as before.

“Feeling better?” Matilda doesn’t lose her calm demeanor.

“Yes, I… do.” You still have a speech impediment, but now you can string two words together.

“That’s good to hear.” Matilda keeps wiping the body until it’s dry.

After that, Matilda gave you new clothes to sport, you will wear them with pride. You have no idea what she did with your old ones. You’re currently in a little room, you two are sitting across a small table from one another, you on a cushion – Matilda served you a cup of tea.

“How are you feeling now?” Matilda wonders.

“Good.” The body feels good, that’s all that matters.

“Excellent.” Matilda looks satisfied. “If you’d like, we could chat. I’m curious about you and your situation. But I’ll understand if you don’t want to. It’s late.”

How do you respond?

>“I do wish to talk. Anything that helps jog my memory.” Talk with Matilda. Build trust between you two.

“I do… ngh… Anything that… blegh... my memory.” You hope she understood that. Every time you try to repeat yourself or say the words that didn’t come out right the first time, you only end up grunting. Perhaps you’re just too weak to control the body.

“Right…” Matilda raises an eyebrow. “This isn’t going to be much of a conversation perhaps, but I’ll be content if you answer my questions.”

“I’m sorry.” You wish to have a fulfilling conversation with Matilda, not just spew random words…

“Don’t be. I’ll ask for your confirmation: Is answering my questions good enough for you?” Matilda reframes her question.

“Yes.” Like you wanted to say originally, anything that helps jog your memory.

“Very well then.” Matilda takes a few seconds to prepare. “Is everything Soh told me about you true?”

“Yes.” He didn’t lie about your encounter and what’s happening to you.

“Do you really wish to be here right now?”

“Yes.” If she provides food and beverages.

“Are you content with your name being San Wich…?” Matilda can’t let that go.

“Yes.”

“Are you repeating the same word over and over again without thinking?”

“No.”

“I see. Then is your current behavior a result of some sort of medical condition you have?” Matilda is asking questions very quickly.

“Don’t know.”

“Did you lose your memories?”

“Yes.” Sadly…

“Do you remember yesterday?”

“Yes.”

“Last Month?”

“Yes.”

“Last Year?”

“No.”

“I’m getting ahead of myself here, but… Do you consider yourself human? You’re an entity, right?” Matilda gets on edge. You sense danger.

“Do not… ngh… I… friendly!” You make the body smile as much as you can. Matilda looks uneasy with your response. Maybe you should resort to a hug?

“…So you don’t deny that you’re an entity?” Matilda demands an answer.

“I trust… Agh…” You raise your hands to show that you have nothing to hide.

“I can’t sense any hostility coming from you, so please calm down, Ms. Wich.” Matilda looks worried for different reasons than you originally thought.

“So sorry.” These are truly difficult times for you.

“I believe this is worth asking at this point, do you wish any harm to this world and its habitants?”

“No. I…”

“I’ve never interacted with anyone of your kind before, I apologize if I upset you.”

“You didn’t.” You shake the body’s head. “But… ngh…”

“I’m glad to hear that.” Matilda is trying to deescalate the situation.

“You help… I help…” That’s how camaraderie prospers. “Same… with Soh.”

“You don’t need to, I’m being compensated for my efforts here.” Matilda doesn’t agree with your terms.

“We… ngh… friends.”

“I suppose we could be… But judging by your behavior, I hypothesize that you don’t have full control of the body you have right now, correct?” Matilda wants to make sure that you’re an entity after all.

How do you respond?

“You ngh… correct. Agh… I don’t… ngh… want… this body.” You move the body’s hands and head.

“I understand. Barely any muscle mass, you could even argue that it's out of shape, not particularly tall or athletic and an aging body that looks permanently ill. Your body’s prime years are long past gone and it shows.” Matilda makes a cold analysis of the body. The body feels enraged by these comments.

You never thought about it, but those may be the reasons for the back pain, your feet hurting, the random cramps and so much more. Yes, this body is defective and poorly maintained, but that’s just more reason for you to take care and make the best out of it!

“Its owner… ngh… relinquished it… to me.” You clarify.

Oh... The analysis still stands.” Matilda doesn’t care about the body’s feelings. “But knowing your overtaking wasn’t malicious makes this situation a lot different.”

“How so?”

“I have to think over what our next step should be.” Matilda puts her hand on her chin.

“Next step?”

“Yes. But I still need to know, what’s your objective?”

“My memories…” But not only that.

“Your memories? You want to regain your memories?”

“Yes. And…”

“And?”

“Find someone.”

“Who?”

“Someone special.”

“Who is this special someone?”

“Don’t know.”

“Right…” Matilda forgot what you just told her for a second.

“Will… ngh… help… agh?” You want to know if she wants to help you out.

“Yes, I will help you. I’m sure Soh would be happy to make an extra payment if I do so.” Matilda will be your comrade! “But I can’t promise that you will be my priority.”

“I understand.”

“Ehem, take all the time you need responding, but I need to know: you have an idea on what to do now, right? Please inform me.” Matilda wants to hear your opinion.

How do you respond?

It took several minutes but you successfully let her know that you want to use the body to its full capacity. Matilda took note of it, and inquired about how you think you should approach this – you gave her answers but you don’t know much yourself. In the end she suggested doing a light exercise routine that slowly evolved into a normal one. You have no idea what that entails, but you agreed to do it.

“Thank you.” You repeat again. With this, you will find that someone again soon.

“You won’t be too grateful tomorrow.” Matilda smirks.

“Will Soh… Ngh…?”

“He will be as involved as he wants to be.” Matilda stands up and stretches. “Before I show you the place you’re going to sleep in, I want you to meet someone else who lives here as well. I believe you two will get along.”

“Another human?”

“Yes. He’s completely human, don’t be deceived.” Matilda clarifies immediately as she stands up and opens the door out of this room. The body slowly stands up and follows your new friend.

Today really marks the beginning of your quest for answers...

“Did they forget anything?” Your lawyer takes a good look at the stuff the guards handed you. You don’t know how he managed to get to this part of the prison.

“I don’t think they did.” You reply, unenthusiastic. It’s been 10 years, you don’t remember what you had at the time.

“Hey, could you take a second look?! I’m here so none of you fucks take advantage of this poor man.” Your lawyer yells at the prison guard.

“…” the man in blue glares at your lawyer, but doesn’t move.

“C’mon buddy, you had this innocent man inside that cell for 10 fuckin’ years. That’s the least you can fuckin’ do.” Your lawyer is a loudmouth.

“Hey, it’s all right, he only did his job.” You unenthusiastically intervene.

“…Hold on a second, sir.” The guard goes to check once again. He comes back with a wristwatch. “Here.”

“Thank you.” You grab it… You almost forgot about it, this is your daughter’s…

“Oh my pinky pouty poo! You see this? You see?! I could add this to the lawsuit, buddy. You know how many Gs this will cost the government?” Your lawyer is having none of it as he points at the guard right under his nose.

“…” The officer remains impassive.

“C’mon, let it go. I want to get out of here.” You calm your lawyer down.

“You’re lucky, so fuckin’ lucky, that this man over here is the embodiment of integrity and compassion!” Your lawyer points at the guard’s face once more before you leave the facility for good. “Oh, and tell Banks that he can suck my dick!” Well, now you leave the facility.

Your name is Percy Larsen. 10 years ago you were at the wrong place at the wrong time, you found someone lying dead when you went back to the office and... You don’t really want to remember the details. You’re content with having your freedom back. Maybe you can finally be with your family again, after your wife’s passing – you haven’t heard from them in years. You don’t know how you’ll get there or how you’ll even contact them.

“Hey, Percy! I’m takin’ you home, or wherever you wanna go!” That man right there is Cal Christopher, he’s your lawyer who’s known for digging up old iffy cases near the expiration date that the statute of limitations dictates – and magically turning them around. Despite helping you out, you find him quite annoying. “C’mon, lard ass. I know you’re enjoying your freedom, but this is not the way.”

What do you do?

>“I’ll be fine on my own. Thank you.” Reject his help.

“Can you give me a few minutes? I need to contact someone first.” You ask your lawyer for some time.

“Here. Unless you somehow make smoke appear out of your ass you’re gonna need it. Use it as long as you need to.” Cal hands you his phone. Guess you’ll have to pretend you’re using it.

“Thank you.” You take it and walk away from his car to a place where he can’t see you all that clearly.

To call your dear niece you need to stay still with one foot in the air until she eventually arrives, oh and tap the bottom of your shoe. She never clarified what this exactly does, but hey, it works. This channeling stuff goes over your head every time someone tries to explain it, it just doesn’t make any sense. You close your eyes. Time to wait...

“It’s been a couple of years, uncle! I thought you never wanted to hear from me ever again! You must be really desperate for company…” That’s her voice!

“Odetta, how have you been?” You ask your dear niece. After her parents died, you and your wife took care of her until she graduated, then she… It’s best not remember that.

“Marvelous, dear uncle. Wait, you’re not in prison. What the fuck happened?” Odetta just notices.

“I told you I was innocent.” You never pretended otherwise.

“What? There is no way that’s true. Oh, you mean you’re innocent. I got you.” You can’t see Odetta, but you know she’s winking.

“I’m not lying.”

“Yeah, I know you’re not. I’m winking by the way.”

“I imagine.”

“Well dear uncle, what do you need me for? I’m plenty of busy right now, but I always have time for you.” Odetta is always busy so she’s probably lying like most of the time.

“Odetta, I want to meet up.”

“I’m under intense medical care, so you’ll have to come over here if you want to meet up with your cute niece. I know you’re not an airplane kind of guy, uncle. So it’s gonna be pretty difficult...” Doesn’t sound like Odetta is lying.

“What happened?”

“I fell down the stairs, typical me, eh?” Odetta is a troublemaker and used to do the dumbest things for fun. Jaylene became skittish thanks to her. The issues with being partners in crime, you suppose.

“I don’t believe that for one second.”

“We’ve been apart for so long and you still get me, you’re amazing, uncle!” Odetta chuckles. “It makes me wonder how you ended up on the wrong side of the law.”

“You’re a terrible liar.”

“…Or maybe I like getting caught. Unlike you, still-pretending-to-be-Mr. Goody two shoes.” Odetta has always enjoyed testing your patience. “I’ll stop! I don’t like when you get all quiet.”

“Tell me what happened.”

“Just a series of unfortunate events, all job related – in hindsight, I wish I had insurance. But I’m in good hands now, I even think I turned a new leaf, I’m really enjoying my time here.” Odetta tells you a half-truth. “I found a troop of idiots that are fun to be around again. So you don’t have to worry, uncle.”

“I still want to meet up.”

“Fly over to Hamje, and call me up again. I will never refuse to meet up with the only family member I have left!” Odetta starts laughing.

“What happened. Who did it. Tell me now.”

“I-I’m sorry, Uncle. I don’t know. I saw the news about the incidents in Pokyo Lokyo, went to check if it was some terrorist tomfoolery and if Jaylene was still involved with them, but instead I learned that they disbanded and then… I saw her name in the list of deceased. I was furious.” Odetta explains.

“Why would Jaylene be involved with a terrorist group? What are you talking about?”

“That some dumb shit Oliver got her involved! It was something so monumentally stupid that I didn’t want any part of it. Yeah, me! Imagine how stupid that was!” Odetta is telling the truth. Why does this have to be the truth?!

“The neighbor kid? That Oliver?” That good for nothing brat that was delusional about being a great hero or something? You knew it wasn’t just a game he played with Jayleen. You told his parents to take him to a psychiatrist. Those imbeciles never did…

“Yeah, do you even know another person with that lame-ass name?” Odetta has a point. “You know Jaylene was in love with that loser. But uncle, I know he knows what happened…”

“How can you be so sure?”

“Because that’s what I found out, it’s my speciality. I’ve been investigating what happened the last few days. Trust me, uncle. I’m serious.” Odetta reveals to you.

“So you know where he is?”

“Uncle… Don’t tell me you’re planning on taking justice into your own hands?” Your devilish niece sounds like she’s going to enjoy this.

“I want to talk to him, nothing more.”

Suuuure, nothing more; just like when you had a talk with Preston.” Odetta doesn’t believe you. She reminded you of the time she invited a dumbass kid to the house once and you dealt with him like any responsible parent would. “But yeah, you totally should talk to him. Maybe find the answers I couldn’t, I wouldn’t blame you if you really want to have a real chat to discuss your differences.”

“Where is he?”

“He’s working at your favorite Batting Center! You know the one!” Odetta is talking about that hell pit.

“Are you kidding me?”

“I wouldn’t lie to you now, uncle. It’s destiny who’s playing pranks on you now, not me! You have no idea how much I want to know about what happened to Jaylene.” Odetta is serious about this. “I’ll get you your favorite steak if you find anything…”

“Duly noted.” You haven’t had a nice meal in years. “I don’t want to take more of your time.”

“Then take care, uncle.” Odetta is expecting big things.

“Love you, dear.”

You take a deep breath before making a decision regarding what to do next. You walk back to where Cal Christopher is waiting with the car.

“There’s one batting center I want to visit.”

“Wanna vent a little? You’ve been building that rage for years, I get it.” Cal Christopher nods to himself. You try to give him back the phone, but he rejects it. “That’s a present! They’re obnoxious as a toothache but you’re going to need one in this new shitty world. It has my number in it, just in case you still need legal advice.” He raises his eyebrows.

“Thank you.” You’re going to take it because your old phone doesn’t work anymore.

“Well, to the batting center we go!” Your lawyer gets inside the car and opens the door for you. It’s a rusty old car. You’re mildly surprised by the fact that his car is this woeful.

In what felt like a long trip, you’re here. The place hasn’t changed one bit since the last time you came here, well it’s older obviously. You step out of the car and keep staring at it.

“In the envelope I gave you earlier there are a couple grands so you can spend however you feel like. The rest of the money is in your bank account.” Cal Christopher reminds you as he explains from the car. You already knew that. “Have anything to say before I go?”

“Thank you for the ride.”

“I’ve never seen a free man more crestfallen than you. Did something happen?” Cal Christopher feigns interest.

“I’m just taking in everything slowly.” You take another deep breath.

“Don’t take it personal, but you’re an awful, awful liar. But that’s good, I’ve never been the one to defend criminals. Also I’m not the type to give encouraging speeches or shit like that but… chin up, buddy.” Cal only wants to know if anything happens to you, there’s more money he can take from you.

“I’m fine. As much as I can be. I’ll be seeing you then.” You start walking away towards the batting center. You didn’t hear another word coming from your lawyer.

You look around the place you’re familiar with, and you see Oliver sitting on a bench drinking a soda. It’s probably his break. He dyed his hair but he still looks like the same idiotic child you remember.

…?

“Can you give me a minute of your time? It’s important.” You approach Oliver without revealing who you are yet. He hasn’t looked at you just yet.

“Did one of the machines break again…?” Oliver looks down to his drink, resigned.

“Not exactly.”

“What do you mean wi…” Oliver turns around and looks at you like he’s seen a ghost. “M-Mr. Larsen…!” You didn’t think he would recognize you.

“It’s been a while, Oliver.”

“I can’t believe my eyes, I… Wait, weren’t you in prison? What happened?!” Oliver just realizes. Doesn’t surprise you that he knows you were sent there.

“I was innocent.”

“J-Jaylene was right… I… Hold on, let’s talk outside. L-Let’s use the backdoor.” Oliver erratically starts walking towards the door. You follow.

You’re at the back of the batting center, near some dumpsters. As soon as you step outside, you see Oliver with his head down, bowing to you…

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” Oliver immediately apologizes to you. He sounds sincere.

“You already know the reason I’m here. I just want to know how all of this ended up happening, I need closure.”

“I understand. I know by the look on your face, I need to start from the beginning.” Oliver stands straight with a serious look on his face and begins his tale…

It all started once you were imprisoned. From the very beginning, Jaylene believed in your innocence despite pretty much everyone agreeing that there was no other person capable of doing it under those circumstances. Your wife believed you weren’t capable of such, but your daughter knew something was wrong. Since Oliver and her were close friends, they worked together to find a way to prove your innocence – a gigantic task for two kids, but not big enough for a legendary warrior like Leo Major. It was like their little school club activity of sorts, something that they did for fun but with a bigger purpose. Slowly, more people joined.

As they were digging deeper during those years, just by chance, they discovered a deep web of manufactured truths by different groups of influential people all around the country – disgusting individuals who were so powerful that they could do whatever they pleased. All of their crimes are covered up by other members to keep asserting their influences over everyone.

The person you found dead in the office, the one who’s murder you were blamed for – was one of those cases. Neither Jaylene nor Oliver knew who really did it because all of the evidence was tampered. But just by researching who he was, they believed it was an accidental kill, that man was just a random office worker.

It was time for payback! They gathered enough evidence to prove everything, from the falsification of the alibis to the tampering of the autopsies, at least for some of the cases. It was finally time for the truth to be told! They sent this information everywhere, to the police, to the news, anywhere you can think of! And then…

Nothing.

But that wasn’t the end, one of the parents of each child who was involved was murdered in strange circumstances. Your wife, Oliver’s mom, and many others. Some were staged to be heart attacks, accidents, and such. Just to teach them all a lesson they will never forget. Obviously the little club disbanded, and most of the members never met again…

From that day, “Leo Major and his group to find the truth” died…

But that wasn’t the end of the story, there was a group of people who were interested in their discoveries, a terrorist group named “The Hosts of Rebellion”. With no one to turn to, and with revenge on their minds – Oliver, Jaylene and one of their friends joined them to liberate the country from the injustice it was submerged in. It was Oliver’s idea, he just couldn’t let it go, he wanted revenge for everything that happened to them. At that point Jaylene wasn’t as sure that it was a good idea as him, but if he was willing to do it – she would follow him no matter what.
He explains some channeling stuff that goes over your head after. But both he and Jaylene were involved.

Everything was going decently for them, by terrorist group standards anyway, but all went downhill very fast the day they fought someone he calls “The Host of the Lightsbane”. It just went from bad to worse, the tensions were high inside the group – but of the two factions, one struck first and betrayed the other, marking the end of this terrorist group.

Or so Oliver heard, he was in jail at the time with Jaylene and their friend, but their fine was paid by a rich billionaire named Ka-Shing. The only condition was to work for him for a month, so they joined his efforts. But they never thought they were going to be asked to do an impossible mission… A suicide mission to be exact. One that Oliver wanted to take himself, so none of his friend would die for his stupid ideas.

But, obviously, Jaylene and their friend took matters into their own hands, they were a group from the very beginning, they weren’t just going to let him die – so to help Oliver they did something that ended up killing them. Just to save his sorry ass.

“Why couldn’t they’ve just let me die…? I should be dead, man. I should be dead and buried. They were supposed to be here! It was all my fault… all my fault…” Oliver starts crying as he puts his hands on his head.

“Just tell me who did it.” You cannot take this anymore. You were the domino effect that started it all. You need to do something.

Buahehahuhihihihihi….!” Oliver starts pretending to laugh like a maniac. “Rejoice! That was the end of Oliver Watts! A man who only brought pain and despair unintentionally! Now, I, Leo Major! The Remorseless Beast Incarnate who has forsaken all love and friendship in all realms! Will bring pain and despair intentionally! I shall have my revenge! Thank you, mortal, for helping me give him the final blow.” His eyes look empty.

“What are you on about…?”

“I don’t have the answers you seek, mortal.” It’s like he’s another person completely. It’s like the complete opposite personality of the caricature he played as a kid.

“Are you on the spectrum or something?”

“I’m truly sorry… not! But the truth is, I don’t know who killed her.” Oliver continues with his stupid tone of voice, it pisses you off.

“What?”

“Yes, I don’t know who killed Jaylene… I do know someone who does.” Oliver turned back to normal for a second there. “It’s a man who calls himself WILDFLAME. A superhero wannabe. If you wish to talk to him, you’ll have to visit your daughter’s grave. He’s waiting there for you…”

Half of the words this man spouted made absolutely no sense, but you’re going to take his word and leave for the graveyard. Your time here is done…

But not before punching his stupid face.

“Is that everything you have to tell me?” You want to make sure you’re not missing anything before knocking him out.

“I haven’t visited their grave, but the Green Foothill Memorial Park is the place you’ll need to—”

You smack his face before the maniac could even finish spouting his nonsense, even if you’re getting up there in years you’ve still got it in you. He’s out cold. Good.

You had to take a taxi to the graveyard because you don’t recognize the streets anymore and you couldn’t be bothered to deal with the new public transportation system right now. At the reception, you asked where her grave was, the people in charge didn’t ask any questions and indicated to you where to go as you preferred to be alone.

And so, you make your way through the memorial park, each passing step feels heavier than the last – all to deal with something you felt no parent ever should.

Hastily etched in stone, the name of your daughter; Jaylene Larsen – is in display.

“I want to know why she had to die.” You just want closure. “Why did I have to outlive my own daughter?”

“Because heroes like her don’t doubt themselves when they face danger, they do anything to protect other people, even putting their lives at stake, a level of selflessness that makes them truly immortal.” The man wearing a wrestling mask and a trench coat tells you. Another complete lunatic. “The reason you lost your daughter is the reason you should be proud as a father. Jaylene was truly one of the most courageous and caring people I ever knew. ”

Nonsense… You know nothing about my daughter. I know my Jaylene, I know what makes her happy, sad, scared – everything…” You’re sick and tired of hearing these lunatics. “I know whatever act of heroism you think she did, she was terrified doing it. I can imagine her last moments, my little girl being afraid of dying, hoping for someone to save her – yet you act like she’s some kind of heroic figure. Why are you lying to me?”

“I-I’m not lying…”

“Then stop spouting nonsense.” You shake your head. “I want to hear the truth, not your distasteful sad excuse of an uplifting speech full of lies.”

“These feelings are no lies, citizen. But I understand what you mean.” The ridiculous man bows his head. “But before I tell you, I want to say one more thing: The culprit is paving her way to redemption for her deeds, her guilt is something that weighs heavily on her mind – please understand that the person who did it has changed.”

“Please, just get on with it.”

“Her name is Sasha Langdon. She’s working as a volunteer at the Homeless Shelter. I knew that one day the relatives of the heroes would show up, I told her to be ready, she’s willing to take any sort of punishment you see fit – it wasn’t my idea, but I respect her conviction to prove her new ways of Justice!”

She wasn’t thrown in jail?

…?

>“Tell me what she looks like and where to go.” Leave. One last step.

“Tell me what she looks like and where to go.”

“Very well. As I mentioned before, she’s working at the homeless shelter to pay her dues. She looks like this.” WILDFLAME hands you a picture of her. “And the address is as follows…” He tells you where to go.

“Good-bye.” After receiving the information, it’s time to leave.

“Before you leave, sir. I truly do mean what I said about your daughter.” The lunatic is telling the truth.

“…” You stop to look at him for one more second and leave for good.

You take another taxi to the homeless shelter. No matter how much time you spend inside this car, it will make no difference – you need to do something, because time will not heal this situation.

Outside of the shelter, you asked an old lady that works here if she has seen the woman in the picture you have. She said yes, and took you inside to look for her – it took longer than necessary, so she ended up asking you to wait outside until she finds her. Eventually, the meeting became a reality.

“Are you the guy who was looking for me? ‘cuz if he left, I’m gonna be so mad right now.” That’s the woman in the picture. That’s the… “Hey, I’m talking to you, big guy.”

That’s the woman who killed Jaylene.

“Your crazy friend WILDFLAME sent me here.”

“Oh, that ain’t good.” Sasha’s confident smirk is gone. “Can we go for a walk? I need to stretch my legs.”

“Yes.” You accept. You don’t want to stand next to the entrance of this place.

She immediately takes the lead and walks a couple of steps in front of you, you get to her level and begin the talk.

“Your name is Sasha Langdon, correct?”

“That’s my name, indeed!” Sasha chuckles. “So did WILDFLAME say somethin’ nice about me?”

“No.”

“O-Oh… By the way, who are you exactly? Don’t tell me you’re…”

“I’m the father of one of the people you assassinated.”

“Oh… Oh dear lord… So I suppose that’s the reason WILDFLAME sent you here.” Sasha looks uncomfortable. “Look, I’m sorry about what happened! Like, it’s something that torments me every day. I thought I was doing the world a good deed but it was all a big fuckin’ lie and now I realized how much of a silly woman I was back then. And—”

“All I want to know is the reason why she had to die.”

“So you’re Jaylene’s father? Yeah, her name is something I’ll never forget, or Rhys’s.” Sasha shows you a wry smile. “It’s going to sound harsh, but it’s the truth… The reason she died is because she got in the way of me saving the world from all of the dumb bullshit that’s happening right now. I needed to defeat WILDFLAME for my own survival and she put herself in harm’s way to protect that dumbass. I would never kill an innocent bystander otherwise, that’s not in my nature, nuh-uh. And if you ask me if I regret it now? Of course I do! I fuckin’ hate myself now because of all I did! Even if I was fed lies, it doesn’t change the fact that what I did was horrible! I’m a horrible person… And nothing I can do is going to change that.” Sasha starts crying.

“But… if you give me a chance, I can make it up to you! Just ask me for anything and I’ll make it a reality! I always wanted to do good shit for our green world, but I’ve changed and I know the end doesn’t justify the means! I’ll prove to you that I’m a new soul, baybay. Anything! I swear! I don’t care what it is…” Sasha stops walking and stands right in front of you. Bawling her eyes out, guilt written all over her face – but with the hope in her eyes that she can try to make amends…

Sadly, every single word that came out of her mouth was a complete and utter lie.

“What truth? Do you really want me to start from the beginning, silly man? I sugarcoated a whole story for you! Bah…” Sasha scoffs at you. “I’m gonna warn ya, you should just accept whatever I said earlier if you want your papa feelings to remain intact.”

“…” You glare at this murderer.

“Why did your daughter die? Was there a reason...? Yeah, there was, to distract that hot bum WILDFLAME. Guy is too stupid to let people die and fend for himself, and your daughter and her friend were the perfect bait. That simple. No clue why they were there.” Sasha starts smiling as she shrugs. “Sorry, papa. My mom always said Silly kids, with their silly games, get silly hurt. Should’ve told your daughter to mind her own business. Oooh, and if I were you, I would leave this to rest, you’ll have to believe me on this one – but there’s no way to prove I did it. “Let me go…”

Ssshhh… I’m talking here, baybay.” Sasha plays with your hair. “Imagine the realm of possibilities this weapon allows me to have. It’s invisible, strong and… deadly. Now, you caught me on a bad day, but I don’t want to kill you – it weighs heavily on my mind each person that lost their lives because of me. But you need to respect me, not me personally, but the power I have. So I want you to kiss my feet and then I’ll let you go. 23 years prior to the events of Do Your Best Quest…

Over a month ago you were requested the strangest case you’ve ever heard of in your whole professional career. The region of Topakasa is the home of the oldest temple in the country, located in the small village on the mountains named Gyerhae. The head priest, an extravagant lady named Qiao Ning, asked you to find something that the naked eye can’t see – a spirit.

She seemed quite desperate if she had to resort to a private detective for the case but, in her words, ‘they are trying everything they can just to produce any results, because finding this spirit is vital for the safety of the whole world’.

But you aren’t one of the bests in your field for nothing.

The whole world knows you as Kobashi, you’re an expert private detective, famous for discovering the truth behind the disappearance of the Koroma fortune and catching the Phantom Thief known as Houda Lan. That’s the two biggest cases anyway, you were asked by the police for assistance both times and you did pretty well – but you do smaller cases as well. Nothing is too small or big for you.

The case is simple, you need to find a powerful spirit that was sealed inside the temple, they have no idea how it escaped or where it went – but that’s why you were hired to find out. The monastery handed you 2 important items for your investigation: a copy of the records of all the people who have come to the monastery on the day of the disappearance and something that looks like glasses that you can supposedly use to make the spirit visible. Supposedly, when a spirit is strong enough it has the form of a Will-o’-the-wisp or Ignis Fatuus, a green floating flame in this particular case.

After your initial investigation concluded, all of the evidence showed that you needed to find a foreigner man who visited the temple weeks ago, Dr. Bombastus. You’ve never heard of him before, but apparently he’s a big deal in the scientific world who currently seems to be wasting his time in an investigation many of his peers find completely ridiculous – using Spirit Energy. You put 2 and 2 together after that. At least, it was the only lead no other person also investigating has used, so better to cover all bases you supposed.

Which leaves you here in Pokyo Lokyo, the great capital of Prancijan, your home country. Its glory days seem far gone after the events of the civil war. What a dump... you like it.

And what a productive trip it is! You randomly used the spirit goggles (not their actual name) and saw a White Will-o’-the-wisp floating into one of those CotF hell pits they call apartments. Fortune always smiles on you.

You’re standing outside of the room you think the White Spirit got inside. You’re supposed to find a green one, but if this place has this one – it means it can have both.

First, you observe your surroundings, the only notable egress point is the stairs you had to climb to get here – this building has abysmal fire security measures. Seriously, you’ll have a better chance surviving by jumping out the window than going down the stairs here.

Now you knock on the door.

W-Who’s theeere…?” A soft spoken girl’s voice comes from inside the room. There’s something about her tone of voice that bothers you.

“Hey there little girl, can you open the door for a second? Name’s Kobashi and I was wondering if you could answer me some questions I have.” You ask politely.

The door opens ever so slightly. You’re able to see a disheveled girl peek from the little gap between the door and the wall. She looks unwell and she’s in her pajamas/underwear, and looks nervous.

W-Whatchuu… want…?” The girl with glasses wonders. You just noticed the smell coming out, she looks and smells drunk – no surprise considering what this place is and who lives here. Still something you need to take notice of though. Maybe you got the wrong room…? Why would a Will-o’-the-wisp enter this place?

How do you respond?

“Have you heard about spirits wandering around this place?” It’s a good enough question to not raise too many flags.

“N-No…” The poor little drunk girl now looks scared. Fuck. “A-Are g-ghosts around…?”

“That’s one I thing I want to discover, I’m on the lookout. Reason why I have these!” You show her your Spirit Goggles.

“Are you trying to sell me those…?” She sounds so disappointed that she didn’t even sound drunk or scared. She’s slowly closing the gap.

“N-No, these are mine! I can see the spirits with them, I can’t just give them to anyone, you know?” The head priest would kill you if you gave them away!

“OK…” She certainly looks less wary of you now, but goes back to being scared. “I-Is there… something you want me to do or…?” The drunk girl wonders.

How do you respond?

>“It would help a lot if I could take a quick peek inside. In and out in a minute, I promise.” Add a wink.
>“Here, use them. Look inside and see if there’s anything.” Hand the Spirit Goggles over to the girl so it isn’t as suspicious or uncomfortable for her.
>“Have you heard anything about spirits in general?” Keep the conversation going a little bit. She’s a bad talker, but maybe she’s just too nervous to be friendly.

“Have you heard anything about spirits in general?” You want to keep the conversation going. Find her friendlier side.

“I apologize, but I’m contractually obligated not to answer those kinds of questions.” S-She just sounded sober! What the hell?

Contractually obligated? What…?”

“I-It’s my job…” She looks down all sorrowful for some reason. Then she takes a sip from the beer can she had in her hands that you couldn’t see earlier because it was obscured by the wall.

“What kind of job is that?”

“I-I can’t tell…” She takes another guilty sip.

“What’s your name, little lady?” You can’t build a fruitful relationship without knowing the other’s name.

“Ema… W-What’s yours…?” Ema gingerly asks back.

“Name’s Kobashi.” You smile. “So tell me, Ema. What kind of place do you work for?”

“An office… and… a laboratory…” Ema looks tired of life, this isn’t exactly the answer you were looking for. Two jobs? She’s definitely a CotF. She must feel lonely if she’s willing to keep entertaining this conversation for this long.

This is getting you nowhere, and the Will-o’-the-wisp would be gone by now if you got the wrong room. But it’s nice to know new people.

How do you respond?

>“So having it rough at work, eh?” Get friendlier with Ema to get her to talk later.
>“Is one of the people you work for named Bombastus?” You hope this bullet hits. You’re usually lucky with these kinds of assumptions.
>“Am I taking too much of your time, or is it okay to keep going?” It’s better for her to take a break than talk to you. She looks rough.
>“So what you told me earlier was a lie, right? You have heard about ghosts around this place.” Lead Ema to other questions so you can get as much information as you can.

“Is one of the people you work for named Bombastus?” Time for one of your patented lucky guesses.

“H-H-How d-did you know…?” Ema closes the gap to make herself barely visible, she’s looking really nervous and uncomfortable right now. Yes, you nailed it, but it might have ended up closing the only door you had open. The upside is that Ema is eagerly waiting for your explanation.

How do you respond?

>“I’m a Spirit expert, and I read about his work – I only took a guess ‘cause he’s the only scientist doing this kind of research.”

“I’m a detective on an important case, and he’s one of the people I’m suspecting of stealing a spirit from Prancijan’s oldest monastery – nothing that serious though. It’s not like the law can persecute him for stealing something we can’t see.” You explain in full detail.

“I see…” Ema looks overwhelmed by all of this information. “B-But how did you know…?” She asks again, your answer wasn’t satisfactory…

“I’m a detective. If I tell anyone my methods, I wouldn’t have my job!” You can’t just admit that you just made a gamble…

“Y-You’re right!” Ema’s eyes open wide in realization.

“Glad you understand.”

“Yes, yes.” Ema nods.

“So, can you tell me where he is?”

“Nope. My contract…” Ema looks away. “My hands are tied…”

“Can you tell him to give me a call? Like I said, he won’t be in trouble.” You start writing it down on your notepad and hand it to Ema.

“Uhm… I'm on medical leave… I don’t know when I’m going back to work…” Ema admits. She’s sounding more composed the longer this conversation goes on. “S-Sorry.” She takes the note anyway.

“It’s fine I suppose.” You aren’t going to make Ema do something she doesn’t want to.

“…” Ema just looks back at you.

I miss proofing DYBQ. I miss the Discord. I miss all the artwork. I miss absolutely everything about the two years of working with you. I hope, as I've had so many times over in my life, that something I desperately want does come true. If it doesn't, there's most likely no saving me.

[Posting from a different ID. Sorry for the inconvenience!]

“I-I forgot to mention it, I saw a White spirit going inside your room! Can you use this to check that out for me?” Being this forgetful will bite you in the ass one of these days. You hand the Spirit Goggles to Ema.

“Uhm… S-Sure.” Ema grabs them. “H-How do I…?”

“It’s like regular glasses. Look around and try to find something like a white flame of sorts.” It’s hard to explain what you saw in all honesty.

“I understand…” Ema takes it seriously and goes deeper into her apartment, leaving the gap intact for you to peek.

Ema wobbles around, barely on her feet. She struggles to keep the goggles straight in front of her eyes – she’s too drunk to be doing something like this. It breaks your heart in a sense. The room inside looks as messy as her, there’s trash and boxes lying around and it doesn’t appear that she owns any furniture, she most likely has barely enough money to scrape by. Poor soul.

After a couple of minutes, Ema returns to the door and hands the Spirit Goggles back.

“S-Sorry, Mr. Kobashi…” Ema shakes her head. “M-Maybe I used them wrong…?” Ema looks inside the room again.

“I don’t think so, perhaps they’re not working.” You try them on for the sake of it and realize that the Spirit is on the back of Ema’s head. “Huh?”

“What…?” Ema turns her head back around, making the spirit not visible anymore.

“Could you turn around for one second?” You hope you didn’t miss it.

“OK…” Ema turns her back to you… She’s surprisingly obedient.

There it is again! But now it’s… on her butt… It’s kind of nice and shiny... that’s not the important thing here! The spirit seems to be attached to her for some reason, but it doesn’t appear to be moving anywhere. Should you say something…?

What do you do?

>“It’s on your butt! Quick, catch it!” Tell the truth. Hopefully, it won’t scare it. You don’t have any way to catch it though.
>“It was my imagination. Ema, it was a pleasure to meet you. Can I visit you again sometime in the future?” Visit her another day and see if the Spirit is still here. If it’s attached to her, maybe you have found a way to take them with you.
>“Ema, I know it’s none of my business, but you need to take better care of yourself. I’m worried about you.” You can’t ignore it anymore.

“Ema, I know it’s none of my business, but you need to take care of yourself. I’m worried about you.” You decide to ignore the fact that the spirit is on her round, shiny butt and instead put all attention back to her lifestyle.

“I-I’m sorry...” Ema apologizes for no apparent reason, her morale drops even further.

“Don’t be. You don’t have to justify yourself to me. I know you have it in you to turn yourself around.” You give her a big thumbs up and smile.

“T-Thank you, Mr. Kobashi… I-It was nice talking to you…” Ema’s eyes meekly look away.

“It was a blast for me as well.”

“T-Then I-I’ll be seeing y-you around…” Ema closes the door. You see the flame attached to her butt one last time as the gap closes.

Yeah, it would be too awkward if you wanted to talk to her now. Better leave and do what you planned to do from the beginning…

It’s a brand new day! You’re inside of your hotel room, it’s a nice little place – completely different than Ema’s. Hmph, you wonder why you can’t keep her out of your mind, well it makes sense if you remember that you completely squandered that lead with the White Spirit.

And yeah, that other shiny thing too…

New day, new you, right? Well, you got something from reception. It’s a box from Qiao Ning, the head priest of the monastery; inside, it has some kind pot with a weird face and a letter. You read it.

It’s Qiao Ning apologizing to you because she just realized she forgot to give this special Catching Pot that she gave to the other investigators as well. If you follow the ancient instructions that are in the letter as well, you can capture any spirit with the special technique known as the Mafuba. You need to memorize it! Good thing you’re great at following instructions. Maybe you could visit Ema and take the White Spirit…

Focus, you need to rule out or confirm the scientist's involvement first – you’re on the lookout for a green spirit...

Bombastus is currently working at Pokyo Lokyo University as a teacher thanks to a collaboration between one of Orange Stars United’s best colleges and this one for the betterment of their research department. He’s not exactly working as a researcher here, so what gives? Maybe once Pokyo Lokyo University knew what Bombastus’ present research is about they didn’t want to collaborate with him? It makes sense if you think about it.

Time to make a trip on your bicycle to the University grounds!

You ask around, look into places, maybe trespass here and there and bam! You found Bombastus’ office! You knock on the door…

“Yes?” A slightly irritated girl with glasses promptly opens the door. Does everyone in the Capital have poor eyesight?

“I’m looking for Dr. Bombastus, is he in here?” You ask politely.

“No. And he won’t be. He never spends any time in this office.” The girl with a piercing glance retorts. She doesn’t want to waste her time with you.

How do you respond?

>“Here, tell him to call me as soon as he can. I’ll be seeing you then.” Hand her your number to have a better chance to talk to the doctor himself. Then leave.
>“And why is that?” Keep the conversation going just like with Ema.

“And why is that?” You want to keep the conversation going.

“He likes working from home and he’s not contractually obligated to use this space at all. He only needs to show up to teach the undergrads. Our university’s management is a joke.” Surprisingly, she gives you an honest answer and not a snarky remark. “Do you wish to know more about how poorly managed our university is or do you need something else?”

“Uhm, where can I find Dr. Bombastus?” Isn’t that where your original question was leading at?

“I can’t tell you where he lives, sir.” She goes back to looking annoyed. You noticed her carrying a bunch of papers, she also has her bag on her back.

“So he’s at home?”

“Great detective work right there.” Now those are snarky remarks you were waiting for! And it actually hurt... “I can let him know you sent him a message, what’s your name?”

How do you respond?

“Name’s Kobashi. Here’s my number.” You quickly take your notepad out and write it all down for her, then hand over the piece of paper. At this point, you feel like you should have a card or something…

“You’re quite skillful with your hands.” She seems pretty impressed with your abilities. She’s an odd bunny… “I’ll inform the professor of your visit. I’ll be going now.” In a blink of an eye she closes the door on your face. You didn’t even have the chance to say goodbye... but you have other intentions anyway.

You’re going to follow her around! You have a hunch that she's going to Bombastus’ home…

You hide behind a wall with your spy newspaper (you cut it to have 2 holes to see through) and wait for her to leave the office. A couple of minutes later she comes out with her backpack full and an open box full of papers. You feel a little bad that you aren’t in a position to help her carry it, but it’s not the time to worry about that.

You skillfully follow her around town. She took the bus, stopped at a bakery to eat some cookies, waited for another bus, scolded a young kid riding a bicycle for not using a helmet, then took a break on a bench ‘cause the box is too heavy to carry all the time – then she finally arrived to an apartment building all exhausted. Next to the entrance, she puts down the box and calls someone by phone.

“Professor, I’m outside, come over; I refuse to keep carrying these papers, my back is killing me… Yes, I know it was my idea to carry them around, but we’re low on funds, what other option do I have…? Yeah, I know it was my idea to use the University’s printer too, but this quantity is absurd, just come down and help me… What do you mean you don’t want to?! I don’t care if you don’t want to take your tasteless pajamas off! Just do it! You lousy idiotic man…! I-I don’t care about your repulsive cake! You can’t bribe me! Come down right now or I’m leaving…! Good.” She hangs up and waits.

Eventually, you find your man. From the main door of the apartment appears Dr. Bombastus! He’s helping this gal carry the box. He looks bummed out, and you can’t blame him after getting yelled at like that!

What do you do?

>Keep following them around to their room. It’s not going to be easy to follow him inside private property though.

“Dr. Bombastus, I finally found you.” You make your presence known after this long chase. “Let me help you carry that box.”

“Hey, there!” Dr. Bombastus enthusiastically responds but keeps the box to himself. “Who are you?”

But there is a problem, the girl you were following looks horrified...

“D-Did you just follow me…?” The girl now looks something between angry and scared.

“Not exactly, I was passing by and I saw you walking by, then I th—”

Nonsense! I-I knew someone was following me! It was you, creep!” The girl interrupts you before you could finish.

“Hey, that isn’t—”

“Professor! Have you ever seen this man before?!” The girl interrupts you again.

“I can’t say I have.” Bombastus’ friendly demeanor does an 180.

“Professor, he followed me from the University to here. Beware of this man!” The girl is having none of you.

“P-Please wait, this is a misunderstanding, I need to talk with you, Dr. Bombastus – it’s going to be brief, I swear.” You try to calm down the situation.

“Don’t trust him, he's too suspicious!” The girl is losing it. “You need to leave or I’m calling the police!”

“C-Calm down, I’m not dangerous…!” You raise your hands and slowly approach them.

“GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU CREEP!” The girl takes something from her skirt’s pocket!

OH GOD, SHE PEPPER SPRAYED YOU IN THE FACE! AAAAAAAAGH!

“MY EYES!” You scream in pain.

“Beat him now, Professor!” The girl screams at her boss.

“I-I’m not that type of man. Go inside the apartment, we’ll call the police!” Bombastus yells at the girl.

"Understood!" His assistance replies. You hear them running inside the building.

FUCK! You have no other option but to escape! Good thing you never tell people your full name or you would be in real trouble. But now… How can you rule out Bombastus from your list of suspects? You’ll have to find another way.

Defeated, you return to your apartment and reassess the situation… You don’t think you’re going to go anywhere tonight after what happened.

What do you do?

>Break into Dr. Bombastus’s apartment.
>Go talk to Ema. She’s the safest option and a link to that man. Maybe with the information she can give, you can verify your suspicion.
>Write In.

Well, you believe you don’t have any other option but to talk to Ema again. She can give you all the information you need, and with it, perhaps you can verify your suspicion. Oh, you won’t forget to bring every item for the task in case you need to capture the White Spirit she may still have.

Tomorrow is going to be a better day, that’s a promise.

She was really mean to you, that assistant girl, you won’t forget easily.

As the morning of this Tuesday begins, with your nose still stuffed and all spiritual items in your power, it’s time to visit Ema once again! Time to find out the truth about this whole ordeal!
Sadly this is all we have for this thread. I’m sorry everyone, I’m too tired to continue – we’ll have the grand finale of Peaceful Times/ Irrelevant Times/ Dreadful Days some time in the future. I hope you had fun here.

Oh, and no thread this weekend of anything. I’m sorry again.
