>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

You check up once more. Samiel is still facing off with the dragon. You… really hope that he’s doing okay. Your attention turns to Sheik and Lynna again. Lynna glances up towards you, giving a soft smile, then looking to Sheik again, hand still outstretched, ready to pull the Sheikah girl up. Sheik still doesn’t seem completely sure about this, and she gives a brief look in your direction.

Maybe you should say something…

>A. Whatever secrets you have, I can promise you I’ll keep

With a calm voice and a determined look, you tell her, “Sheik… this is your decision, and only you can make this choice. But know that no matter what you choose, no matter what secrets there are, you have our support. You are one of us.”

Sheik takes a moment, but then gives a solemn nod. She takes Lynna’s hand, and the two head in once more. As they dive in deeper, though, you all feel the area shake. Glancing in the direction you felt Samiel and the dragon previously, you can tell that the battle is only growing more intense. And focusing with the Tiara, you aren’t sure who’s winning at the moment.

Finally, Sheik and Lynna emerge from the water once more. This time though, they have definitely succeeded. Both of them. They get out of the water, and a doorway emerges on the other side of the area. You notice that both of them now have something around their necks… pendants with a curious symbol, four prongs around a three-sided pyramid. Each one with a mirror shine that seem almost Magically produced.

Horon looks at the pendants curiously. “So, what did you get?”

“From what the statue said, these are the Talismans of Reflection.” Sheik explains, hand looking over hers. “They allow one to reflect away the power used by evil beings, and… protect those they care about.” As you hand Lynna her dress back, Sheik cautiously approaches you. “Princess… when we get through this, I… have two things I wish to tell you.” She looks down at the pendant again. “But… you and only you can hear it.”

>A. All right, when we are through this

“All right. When we get through this.” You give a nod, then lock your eyes on the doorway. “Samiel may need our help, though. Let’s go! Quickly!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_3LcGNQRk4

A shout of “Right!” echoes from your allies as you all run to the doorway, all of you appearing at the turret tower… or rather, what is left of it. You look out at the main area and see Samiel standing near the other, smaller temple structure’s entrance… and the massive foe he has been fighting. A dragon, as large as the skeletal one you saw in the Spirit Temple, perhaps even larger, body with black and purple scales that more resemble armor than anything biological… with this air of malice around it, as if a barely visible miasma of pure hatred emanates from the dragon. A blade-like tail sways behind it as it crawls slowly, circling around, its gargantuan wings folded against its body as its head, maw easily as long as you are tall, watches over the golden knight… and then it speaks.

“They’re probably trapped down there now, you know. Some protector you turned out to be, Hunter.” You look down and see that the entrance you all went in through is covered in rubble from the damaged tower. “How often will you keep repeating these mistakes? Thinking yourself some kind of hero.” Its claws scratch against the ground, leaving massive gashes in it. “I want you to remember this as I DRAG YOU INTO THE UNDERWORLD!”

Samiel remains stern, sword charging with magical power. You do have the element of surprise, however brief.

You call out Zas, directing him to the front of the monster as you take focus with the Tiara. The Phantom knight swings his sword upward at the dragon’s jaw. Samiel looks in your group’s direction briefly, and seems reinvigorated by your arrival. Using the attack from Zas as an opening, he fires a charged Sword Beam at the dragon. It hits the monster’s face, forcing it back slightly. Sheik, Horon, and Aveli all head down, you and Lynna staying back, the young woman actually standing in front of you defensively.

With your guidance, Sheik is able to get around the dragon and strike it in the eye, but before Horon and Aveli can reach it, the dragon’s tail whips at them, knocking the Gerudo girl down and leaving a slash across Horon’s arm as he’s flung away like a ragdoll. Zas attempts another slash at the dragon, aiming for its neck, only for the monster to stand on two legs and let out a blast of hellfire from its mouth, engulfing the Knight.

The dragon then starts to flap its wings, hovering up slightly. “So, you all wish to die with the Hunter? Then you’ll all DIE SCREAMING!” it roars. As it does though, you can see some wounds made by Samiel in his previous clashes with the monster in perfect clarity. One on the base of the neck, one on the chest, and one on the stomach, just above the waist. In addition, the wings, membranes of them almost a mix of leather and miasma themselves, seem particularly vulnerable.

You do your best to keep focus, but tell Lynna to help Horon, as he’s taken a rather nasty wound. Samiel’s wrist flicks again as he builds up energy around it, this time sparking with electricity. Aveli tries to jump at the monster and make a swipe at its tail with her swords, but fails to reach it, just barely avoiding a swipe from its tail. It laughs maliciously. “Aww, can’t reach, little mortal? TOO BAD!” The tail stabs into the ground, Aveli still dodging away, as you carefully move closer, just close enough that you can reach its face with a well-placed throw.

With a loud yell, you fling a Deku Nut right up at the monster, its face just turning in time to get blinded. It roars in pain, Samiel firing his Sword Beam up at it and hitting one of the wounds he’d made previously, doing significant damage to it. The dragon glares at the Knight for a moment, but then looks at you. It dives down and, even as you try to avoid it, grabs you and lifts you into the air. It squeezes you tight, claws scratching you as it holds you, taking you up further.

[Hearts: 9/11]
[Deku Nuts: 3]

Before it can do any more damage, though, you see Horon’s recovered, and yell out to him to where one of the wounds are. The monster tries to fly up higher, but Horon expertly hits the belly wound with a fireball, causing it to shriek in pain and drop you. You brace yourself for the fall, but Lynna catches you and eases the fall. You land without taking significant damage, but the dragon is now QUITE pissed.

“You like playing with fire? THEN HERE, LET’S TURN UP THE HEAT!” The dragon prepares to let out another blast of hellfire, bigger than last time.

“Aveli, on my mark!” you call out to the Gerudo girl, bringing out a Bomb and enchanting it with Ice magic. She rushes to your side, and once it’s ready, your plan’s set in motion… as she flings you up at the dragon. As it finishes building up its hellfire, it just notices you thrust at it. “EAT IT!” you yell at the surprised dragon, dunking the bomb down the dragon’s gullet. It explodes with a massive blast of ice, stopping the flames and causing the monster to choke… but in the panicked flailing it swats you back down. Lynna tries to catch you again, more of a stumble this time.

[Bombs: 5/10]

Smoke pouring from its mouth as the monster coughs, Samiel is able to jump up at it and spin in the air, smashing into the monster’s side and sending it down. The dragon crashes into the ground, Sheik getting a quick stab in at one of its wounds before leaping away right as the beast gets back up. Horon flings another fireball at it, but the dragon displays remarkable swiftness as it dodges the fireball. On all fours, it attempts to stab at you with its tail, you and Lynna getting out of the way just in time to avoid getting skewered.

“YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED, MORTALS!” it barks with venomously at you all, coughing out a final bit of smoke from its mouth, still damaged from that lucky hit from the Ice Bomb. “YOU’LL SCREAM OUT YOUR FINAL BREATHS!” Its claws swipe at everyone, thankfully missing your allies narrowly. Its maw snaps at Samiel as the Knight lands, actually parrying the bites with his blade. The wings start to flap once more. Gh… need some way to keep it grounded!

You bring out your Hookshot, taking aim at the dragon’s wings. “LYNNA! WITH ME!” you call to her. She brings hers out, and the two of you manage to hit the wings and give them a yank to try and keep the monster grounded. While you do manage this, the dragon’s tail immediately whips at you, and while you avoid getting skewered by it, it still leaves a nasty slash at your side. You yell in pain, but stand strong. Samiel tries to rush the monster down, but with the same motion it used to slash at you, its tail slams into the Knight and knocks him down.

[Hearts: 7/11]

Sheik is able to get in close as the monster’s distracted, landing a sharp stab into the wound at the base of its neck. The monster screams in pain, but manages to headbutt Sheik and keep the wound from growing any deeper. But you see your opportunity and start flinging bombs at the monster, managing to severely damage the wings as it’s held in place. Horon adds to it, tossing two charged fireballs at the monster’s wings that damage them enough that even if it tries, it can’t fly up again.

[Bombs: 1/10]

The dragon roars, belting out hellfire again, with you and Horon avoiding the worst of it but still getting singed by the heat, the wound it made with its tail searing with pain from the flames that touch it. You fall to your knees but hold on to the Hookshot as best you can. Horon thankfully is able take it better thanks to his outfit, but only just.

[Hearts: 5/11]

Aveli bolts at the monster and avoids its snapping jaws, grappling its neck to try and keep it from belting out flame again. “You’re not going ANYWHERE!” she yells, the monster’s claws tearing into the ground.

“Let GO you INGRATE!” the monster demands, claws trying and failing to grab her off it. Just then you hear a roll of thunder. Looking out, you see that a bolt of lightning has hit a massive group of monsters that were attempting landing. Further off, that pirates’ ship seems to have been damaged enough that it’s plummeting from the sky. Samiel gets back on his feet, noticing the scene from afar, and seems to get an idea. He gives you a look and seems to signal for you to hold the monster down as he raises his sword to the sky. Magical energy flows around it as it charges again.

You nod in affirmation to Samiel. Keeping focus on where the monster’s weak points, trying to keep the dragon from moving. But, the monster immediately takes notice of it and slashes down at you with its claw, grabbing you and pulling you up. Aveli tries to squeeze its neck harder to get it to let go of you, but that only makes its grip tighten, claws digging into your flesh. As it’s about to try and squeeze tighter, you give a yank with the hookshot, Lynna doing the same. The sudden pull causes the monster to screech in agony once more as its damaged wings are pulled in opposite directions. Sheik is able to leap up and stab it in the wrist to free you, catching you as you fall and setting you down. Your Hookshot is finally freed from the monster’s wing, but at the very least it’s not flying around anywhere.

[Hearts: 3/11]

“You’re severely injured.” Sheik tells you.

“I’m still alive. That’s what counts. And I’m not done yet.” you tell her, trying your best to power through your wounds. You bring out your last bomb, then enchant it with Ice Magic. “AVELI! DODGE!” you call out to the Gerudo girl. She lets go of the dragon’s neck as you toss the bomb up, it exploding on the monster’s back and damaging the wings further, encasing the base joints in ice.

[Magic: 0/10]
[Bombs: 0/10]

It roars at you, livid, but its head tilts as it seems to… recognize something. “…Of course. OF COURSE. Goddessblood. You… I’m not going back without you!” It begins to charge, claws out and maw barking, “I’ll drag you to hell, Goddessblood!”

“OH NO YOU DON’T!” Horon lets out another charged fireball that sets the beast’s chest ablaze… yet it still powers through, even swatting at him with its tail. Aveli however grabs hold of the slashing tail, pulling hard to try and keep the massive beast from moving forward, just barely managing to slow it down. Lynna’s own Hookshot is loosed from the monster’s wing, but she quickly uses the Gale Boomerang, flinging it ahead of the monster, to leave a swirling gust to pull the monster back ever slightly more. Sheik taps the pendant on her chest as a weak fireball escapes from the dragon’s mouth, and as you stand, the fireball is actually reflected back at the dragon!

[Bolts: 75/90]

You hold up your crossbow and release a volley at the beast, scoring a direct hit on the gut wound. “GODDESSBLOOD!” it roars, readying a stronger surge of hellfire. “THIS WILL BE YOUR FUNERAL PYRE!”

A flash of light and near immediate crack of thunder turns everyone’s attention back to Samiel, as apparently, one of the thunderbolts had struck the knight’s charging sword. He brings it back and then thrusts forward, releasing a snaking beam of energy surrounded by sparks of electricity, Aveli letting go just in time. It strikes the monster in the chest wound, the beast screeching out in agony as electricity courses through it. Finally, the snaking beam blasts through out the back of the monster. The dragon looks down, in almost disbelief, then back at Samiel. It falls to its knees, sparks still jetting from its body. The monster attempts to crawl to the edge, black mist in place of ichor seeping from its fatal wound.

“Go back to the underworld where you belong.” Horon tells it.

The monster glares over at you. “…You… won’t… win… Goddess…blood…” It reaches the edge, body falling apart as it does. “He… he… will ensure… it…” Finally its body breaks into pieces, head falling off the side of the temple as the rest of it breaks apart, the black mist billowing downward as well.

Samiel sighs in relief. It’s over. The dragon’s vanquished.

With the dragon finally defeated, you all try to gather up, attempting to rest for just a moment and catch your breaths. Samiel’s arm twitches a bit as he returns his sword to its sheath, the Knight letting out a loud sigh. Lynna looks over your various wounds worriedly. That was getting rather close. But before she starts to heal you, Samiel has her stop, pointing to the temple structure he was protecting when you all left the trial area.

“Great Fairy, right?” Horon asks. The Knight nods, then starts to head over to you. Horon follows, but flinches and trips over one of the gashes on the floor the dragon made, Aveli catching him. “Ngh. Ow. Okay, Great Fairy first.”

Samiel checks you over as well, and seeing your wounds, seems to worry. While you can’t see the Knight’s face, the body language he’s displaying is definitely that of concern. He looks around the area, then motions for you to head to the Great Fairy as well.

“Just… just a moment. Let’s collect ourselves first, and maybe see if the dragon left any spoils. A number of us are low on Magic and supplies as well as health. Best recover what we can while we are able to.” You start to move over to where the dragon’s body was, though you notice Samiel give you a clearly less than amused look, even clenching his fist, but Sheik heads by you and gives Samiel a soft, almost pleading look. The Knight sighs loudly, clearly loud enough for you to hear, but only that.

You manage to recover a small bit of health, a good deal of Magic, thankfully enough Bolts to refill the Crossbow, and a single Bomb. In addition to that, you manage to find a red Rupee, and a few green ones. Score! And then some!

[Hearts: 4/11]
[Magic: 5/10]
[Bolts: 90/90]
[Bombs: 1/10]
[Rupees: 255]

As you collect these with your allies, you try to strike up a conversation with Samiel. “I must thank you first for holding off the dragon while Sheik and Lynna completed their trial. Yet… I must ask, you clearly had history with this dragon, so, can you tell us about it?” Samiel tenses up, enough to almost almost worry you.

Sheik though approaches him, quietly telling the Knight, “It is okay.” The tension in Samiel’s body eases, and he starts to write on Sheik’s hand. And so Sheik explains for him. “They do indeed have history, as mortal enemies. The dragon’s name… is known as Rahab among the Pirates it rules over. The demon is one…” Sheik stops, but Samiel gives an insisting nod. “One who laid waste to most of the Wind Tribe’s warriors in the past. One who was stopped by Samiel. One who will never stop until it drags Samiel down to the underworld.”

“Has it always escaped from you before?” Horon asks.

Samiel shakes his head, and Sheik continues. “Samiel has slain the demon many times, but… a demon is a hard thing to truly fell. Rahab was last slain not too long ago, returned to the underworld it came from, attempting to lead an invasion… into Hyrule.” Sheik seems confused for a moment. “By some… fortress?”

“Oh yeaaaah! That moving fortress!” Horon starts to recall. Even to you, it sounds familiar. “You really did take it out all on your own?”

The Knight answers with a nod, and Sheik speaks for him, “The fortress was destroyed. Samiel made sure of it.”

You think for a moment, considering the allies the Pirates have made. “If it was such a short time ago, then… perhaps this Man with Masks played a role in the dragon’s resurrection.”

Samiel’s fist clenches again, though not directed at you. He then again motions to the temple structure. Seems he insists on everyone heading in there.

>A. All right, let’s go
>B. Before we do, I would like to congratulate you all on this victory, now that we’ve had time to collect ourselves. You all were fantastic

You give Samiel an affirming nod, but as you head closer, you address everyone. “I think you all deserve at least some proper thanks for that. Congratulations, everyone, on making it through this. You all were fantastic, you fought together valiantly, and because of this all of us made it through this in one piece.” You then place your hand up on Samiel’s shoulder plate reassuringly, smiling at the Knight… and bracing yourself for a poke the the forehead. “We will make it through this.”

Samiel pats you on the head. First. Then gives you a poke. A bit more at ease, the Knight leads you all to the temple, and after a flight of stairs brings you to the hot spring Fairy Fountain. From the fountain splashes out a tall woman with long, flowing, cobalt blue hair, bodyshape similar to the Great Fairy of Storms, though her wings have almost a… flame-like look to them. And yet there’s a strange, almost wave-like look to her. Certainly has… quite the outfit, too.

She floats in midair, leaning back, cheek resting on her palm as she smiles. “Was that you outside, Sammy, making all that noise?” Samiel crosses his arms, and she giggles. “Oh don’t be like that, I saw eeeeverything, darling~” The fairy claps her hands together, cheerfully declaring, “You all fought so so valiantly, too! That mean ol’ dragon didn’t know what hit ‘em!”

Horon takes a step forward, and asks, “Your counterpart to the west was called the Great Fairy of the Storms, so who might we address you as?”

“Why, I’m the Great Fairy of the Skies.” She then places two fingers on her lips and blows Horon a kiss. “But someone as handsome as you can call me-” Samiel grunts to interrupt her right as the boy’s face reddens, Aveli moving ahead of him and narrowing her eyes. “Oh you never let me have any fun.” the fairy pouts at Samiel.

“That is… quite an outfit you have there. I must say, I rather do like it. Very… you.” you remark to the great fairy, a smidge of sarcasm that doesn’t quite get through as you kinda… do think it interesting. Dang it you actually do like that outfit. Structurally. Yeah.

The Great Fairy claps her hands together again and almost dances in place in midair. “Aww you’re just a sweetie, aren’t you? Thank you~” She winks. “Nice to see another who has a good sense of fashion.” the fairy remarks, giving Samiel a critical look. The Knight just seems to roll his head at her.

You cough to clear your throat, Sheik raising an eyebrow at you. “In… any case, Great Fairy, we have collected the Kinstones, we have completed the trials set out for us, so it would be correct to assume the Thunderbird is next, yes?”

“Yep~” she replies with a nod. “But you all look so exhausted from that battle.”

“You could say that again…” Horon remarks.

“Before that, then, I must ask, are there any more Pirates in the Temple? Any more of the creatures of the Underworld lurking around? I do not want to jump in with that unfinished.” You wipe away some sweat from your brow. “Especially considering we saw sign of another creature lurking.”

The bubbly, flirty demeanor fades for a moment as a more serious one takes over. She looks around, then gives an uneasy look back to you all. “There… maaayyyyy be one more… Komayto on the premises.” She taps her lips. “Ooh that is… a big one.” Samiel’s crossed arms lower, the Knight grunting at the fairy. “Oh come on Sammy, it’s not an IMMEDIATE threat… yyyyyet.”

“Then we really shouldn’t delay. Right, Sammy?” Aveli asks the Knight, who nods and motions at the Great Fairy. He then takes a step back, all of you around the Great Fairy.

“Okaaaay, okaaaay! So, you all ARE looking a little beaten up. If you take a rest in this hot spring, it will heal your wounds right up. Aaaaand, since you’ve all been such good sports, I’ve got something to help you all reach new heights!” She makes a heart sign with her hands, then brings her hands to her lips, blowing another kiss, though this one adding a swirl of Magic that washes over you and your allies. For a moment you… feel light as a feather, lifted into the air briefly, before being set back down.

“W-what was…?” Aveli exclaims.

“The power of the skies reside within you all now. If you leap into the air, you’ll all be able to leap a second time in midair with the Magic I’ve granted. You can call this… the Loftwing’s Spirit!~”

The healing ability of the hot spring is indeed tied more to the fountain than merely the water.

Aveli is the first to give this new skill a try, jumping into the air, and then merely trying to… jump again. And she does so, getting higher into the air than before. But not only that, she seems to not accelerate as quickly from the higher height she reached when falling. The higher height may be useful, but a softer fall may be just as vital going forward. The Great Fairy floats back, shimmering wings beating as she does. “Now then, rest up, little adventurers. You’ve got some tough fights ahead. Take a dip for a bit and you’ll all feel plenty refreshed!” She then directs her gaze at Samiel. “And hey, you better watch yourself too, Sammy. All that running around in armor and you’ll-”

The Knight grunts dismissively, instead motioning for the rest of you to head in. The Great Fairy gives another pout, though the look on her face is more of… an almost parental annoyance. You’re definitely able to recall a few looks like that from Impa when you were very, very little. Lynna steps forward, looking over the hot spring. “So… should we… make sure our clothes don’t get wet, or is there some magical way to dry off, or…?”

The Great Fairy laughs. “I mean, I’m not one to really dive in with a heavy dress on, but you do you, girl~”

Well, Lynna does bring up a point. Better to set your clothes aside than wait for them to dry. You give her a nod and most everyone sets their clothes aside to rest in the hot spring, Horon keeps a good deal further away from everyone, having hidden his face while you all changed. The water is warm and very relaxing, slightly… fizzy, for some reason, too. Samiel refuses to join in, instead keeping watch. Sheik glances at Samiel with a curious look on her face, almost giving the Knight the same look the Fairy did. As you rest, you think to ask the Great Fairy, “What is a Loftwing, anyway?”

“Oh they were fun little things. Big birds that your ancestors used to ride while they lived among the cloudtops, away from the troubles of the surface. Sadly weren’t much use down when Hyrule got founded, but the Wind Tribe managed flocks for some time.” she replies, laying on her side while floating in midair. “Eventually they formed close enough bonds that they could call upon the soaring spirits of the birds to aid in their own movement among the cloudtops. Something I’ve helped grant you all.”

“Do they still exist?” you ask next.

“Oh off in the wild somewhere, for sure. But don’t think many will answer the call of Hylia’s people these days.” She runs her fingers through her long blue hair. “Buuuut who knows? Maybe a more… direct call from the Goddess might catch the attention of one.”

As she says that, your mind recalls that… the dragon did make mention of “Goddessblood.” You sink back into the water a bit, a sense of calm coming over you as you feel your wounds heal… and your Magic recover.

You start to get out of the hot spring, but look up at the Great Fairy. “Before we head off, I… would like to know. Are the Pirates and their associates particularly hostile to the people of Hylia? And… Hylia herself?”

She leans in closer, looking you over for a moment. “Demons are… not particularly fond of any of the Goddesses. Hylia though brought the end to one of their Kings in time before Hyrule was ever a nation. If the power of demons grows stronger, they may seek out those closest to Hylia.” Her large finger gives a quick, teasing poke to your forehead. “But I’m sure you lot are going to be plenty ready for them when this is all over.” The Great Fairy then shouts out, “And maybe SOMEONE can stop being such a sourpuss over having some new friends long enough to let them know you caaaaare~” Samiel turns his head and gives an annoyed glare.

You reflexively cover yourself and dip back down in the water. “H-hey!” Samiel completely ignores you. Poking your head out a but further, you tell the Knight, “The Great Fairy does have a point, too. You should rest, recover, and heal as well. Before we all leave.” Samiel rolls his head in annoyance. You grumble. “We’ll cover you as you recover, just-” And Samiel starts to march towards all of you. Uh. Uhhh. “…W-wait, could y-you-” The Knight jumps into the air and spins, bellyflopping into the hot spring and splashing all of you, even the Great Fairy, with the impact. Armor still on.

“...Well. That’s. One way to do it.” Lynna comments, finally getting up herself. “You… okay in there?” Samiel’s arm raises from the water and gives a thumb’s up, causing her to try, and fail, to hold back a girlish giggle. “You’re going to be like that until we change, aren’t you?” The thumb’s up thrusts a little higher.

Aveli, Horon, and even Sheik laugh at that. Well, that’s one way to go about it. You all get changed, the Great Fairy hovering over Samiel and poking the Knight. “You’re being a brat again, Sammy. Don’t tell me you’ve gotten shy all of a sudden.” Her fluttering wings beat faster as she gasps. “Oh! Ooooh I know what it is! You liiiiike one of them don’t you?” Samiel splashes her. “H-hey!”

With your clothing back on, you wait for Samiel finish up and rise from the water, with it still dripping off his armor, not taking as long as the rest of you because of it. Sheik gives the Knight an odd look, asking, “Do you need a moment to dry off?” He shakes his head, shaking water from it as well, and seems to urge all of you to get going.

>A. Okay really, did you do that because we were taking too long, or is there another reason you splashed in, full armor on?

You huff just a little, walking forward. “Okay really, did you do that because we were taking too long for your liking, or did you splash in, full armor on, for another reason?” you ask the Knight. Samiel chuckles and pats you on the head. You frown. “That’s not an answer.”

The Knight motions for Sheik, and writes an answer in her hand. She blushes and then gives him a… quite concerned look. “…Must I?” The Knight nods, and she sighs. “Samiel… wants you to know: not impressed.”

Aveli lets out a soft “Oooooh” as you narrow your eyes. “Har har.” you mutter. That gets him to actually laugh, and again poke you in the head. “Please stop that.” Well, clearly he doesn’t want you to press any further into that… and he IS at least being more outwardly friendly, if teasing. Shouldn’t pry any more. Exiting the Fairy’s temple, you look over the orange tint in the sky as the sun begins to move below the horizon. Your eyes move to the gashes in the ground left by the dragon’s claws. Well. You know that monster was screaming it loud enough for the Knight to hear. He hasn’t brought it up himself, but… “Samiel. Before we continue, I must ask… do you know why Rahab was calling out ‘Goddessblood’ before you finally felled it?”

There is tension in the air as everyone freezes, eyes looking back and forth between you and the Knight. Even if you can’t see it directly, you know Samiel’s gaze is stern as he looks to you. A slow nod. Samiel then writes in Sheik’s hand again. “…Samiel does not care much for mere titles. Acts, or, actions, are what make one a capable hero… ah, or, capable leader.” Sheik corrects herself at the end, seeming to not understand the phrasing at first.

“I… did not mean to deceive you, then. I know the kind of position I am in, but I didn’t want my protection prioritized over everyone else’s.”

Samiel writes again. “Lead by example.” Sheik pauses, flinching after seeing what he writes next. “…And make sure you make the most out of his sacrifice.”

“I intend to.” you state with determination, then smile up at the Knight. “Where to next, Samiel?”

Giving you a thumb’s up one more time, he leads the way.

How suspicious do you think Zelda's appeared to the Knight?

Anyway, sorry for the delay again, couple things came up. We are definitely back now though!

>>4206109
Samiel looks around as he leads you all, heading closer to the final, more massive temple structure, heading up a very low-incline staircase, marble columns around all of you. A statue of Hylia looks down over you all. The Knight stops, slowly trying to search the area, then motions to some ancient-looking pottery near the platform leading to a massive door. Four slots are embedded in the door, each with a slightly different symbol.

A lightning and thunder streak across the sky, hitting something in the distance behind the temple. No sign of the Komayto yet. Worrying.

>A. Samiel, should we prioritize that monster, or head to the Thunderbird first?
>B. Best to restock while you can, check the pottery
>C. Can’t afford to delay, head in now
>D. Something else?

She was a weirdo at hello, but she could have been any kind of weirdo. However, I suppose allying herself with a shieka was more specifically unusual.

You all start to go through the pots, Horon tempted to smash a few before you give him a look, purposefully reaching in one and pulling out… oh! Oh thank goodness. Bombs. More of the small ones Samiel uses. As you do, though, you talk with Samiel, the Knight restocking as well. “What is the plan? Do we try to seek the monster, or go to the Thunderbird directly?” As you do, you restock on Bombs a bit, and thankfully find some… Deku Nuts. Somehow. In addition, you find… five strange objects. Like your Crossbow Bolts, but with some sort of explosive charge to them. Bomb Arrows? …Bomb Bolts? Whatever these missiles are, they may prove useful. You set them in the Bomb Bag just to be safe. You also find some Rupees, always good. Lynna carries one of the pots with her, holding it for safekeeping.

[Bombs: 5/10]
[Deku Nuts: 6]
[Bomb Bolts: 5]
[Rupees: 271]

Once Samiel is finished restocking though, he urges you all to head in. Sheik gets a concerned look on her face. “…With you, correct?” Samiel shakes his head. Ah. “You’re going to face it alone?” He nods. Sheik frowns, Horon’s face showing concern too.

You give the Knight a nod, placing your hand on Sheik’s shoulder reassuringly. She looks to you, calmed slightly. “Best of luck, Sir Samiel. We will make it through this, we promise.”

Samiel reaches out his hand, offering it to shake. You do just that, and the Knight begins to walk off. You see Sheik’s hand raise ever so slightly, but she steels her resolve and looks forward with the rest of you. Lynna gets out the Kinstones, placing each in the slot on the door. It creaks open slowly, and with all of you ready, you start to head in, passing by blue lights illuminating a hallway. But as you do… a voice echoes from all around you. Calm, but stern, not quite inviting, but certainly expectant. And above all, booming like thunder.

https://youtu.be/mWc9hFF1Dn4

“Congratulations are in order on making it this far.” it speaks. “You have shown the ability to conquer the trials tailored for each of you. You have shown ingenuity and strength, your bonds are those of those that can carve out a bright future.”

“A-are you… the Thunderbird?” Horon asks.

“You have even gone above and beyond what was asked of you. Now, you are ready for your final trial.” A bolt of electricity illuminates the end of the hallway, thunder echoing through it as you see a massive room light up. Finally getting through, you look over the room, lit up in blue lights, sparks jetting from a few places as static electricity flows through the very air.

Looking up, a tall, glowing figure, just a bit bigger than a person, stands perched for a moment. It almost looks like they’ve got some sort of robes on, only for them to cross their arms and be struck by lightning. The flash causes you all to shield your eyes for a moment, but once you’re able to see again, the person-sized figure is replaced by a truly massive avian form. A body that, while certainly that of some vast, predatory bird, shimmers shades of blue and black, wings like the clouds and body like the night sky as sparks jet from its form. Small runes glow among the feathers of the being, power building up around it. It spreads its wings and takes to the air, a clap of thunder following.

If Termina can harness the power of a bolt of lightning (which is 1.21 gigawatts), and free fall from this temple, she'll hit 88 miles per hour way before she hits, heheh, Terminal Velocity, and be able to time travel. Then, after using a parachute, we can save the Hero before his untimely demise.

However, we still need a flux capacitor, but I think I saw one in the First Order's flagship.

You take focus with the Tiara, Lynna backing up behind you as Sheik, Aveli, and Horon all get into position. You see that shoulder joints of the massive wings may be weak points for the Thunderbird. Sword drawn, you start to hatch a plan, enchanting your sword with Ice Magic and stabbing up at the Thunderbird, hitting the wing with a bit of a frigid Sword Beam! The bird lowers to the ground slightly, Aveli rushing it at full speed and jumping into the air, then jumping again midair to reach it, slashing upward and managing to hit the Thunderbird’s torso… though doing less damage than she’d hoped. Horon manages to charge a fireball and fire it up at the massive creature, hitting it in the face dead-on. Yes!

…And then the Thunderbird’s wings flap harder, sending out what seem like sheets of electricity, Aveli getting the worst of it as she’s zapped while she falls, landing prone on the ground. You and Horon get shocked by it too, Lynna staying back far enough to not get hit.

[Hearts: 10/11]

Sheik though almost seemed to expect that, tapping the talisman on her as she leaps into the air. Reflecting some of the lightning back at the Thunderbird to catch it off-guard, she makes a slash across its torso where Aveli slashed up, landing gracefully and trying to help Aveli up. You see that these hits aren’t… actually leaving any wounds. Damage is done, but it’s not bleeding or even showing scratches across its feathers. That’s… different.

The voice you heard before echoes again, commenting… “Interesting.”

You think quickly, leaping into the air, and then leaping again, bringing out one of the Bomb Bolts and enchanting it with Ice Magic, taking aim with the crossbow. Only gonna get one shot with this. You fire it off, the kickback feeling substantially stronger than normal, but it’s about to strike true. However, the Thunderbird lets out another wave of sparking energy that hits you right as the freezing missile strikes the bird.

[Hearts: 9/11]
[Magic: 8/10]
[Missiles: 4]

Sheik catches you in midair and even manages to hit the Thunderbird’s wings with some needles, landing safely with you. Aveli attempts to leap up again, but fails to reach it this time, Horon just grazing its wing with a Fireball. As it attempts to unleash another wave of electricity at the pair, Lynna gets in front of them and taps her talisman, deflecting it away and keeping them from harm, though it doesn’t reflect back to the Thunderbird.

As the creature starts to drop lower, it lets out a loud, avian shriek that sounds as much like a hawk’s cry as it does a clap of thunder, sparks building up around its beak, a brilliant white and blue light charging in its mouth.

You take focus on the Thunderbird with the Tiara, calling out to your allies, “Sheik! Lynna! Reflect it on my signal! Aveli, Horon, hit hard with Zas when you’ve got the chance!”

“Right!” they reply together, Sheik and Lynna tapping their Talismans. And right as the Thunderbird fires a beam of lightning from its mouth, both Sheik and Lynna manage to successfully reflect it right back at the Thunderbird! And to ensure the reflection lands, you call forth the Phantom Knight and have him rush the bird, barreling into its chest and allowing the reflected Lightning to hit true. And with that, Aveli and Horon charge in after, hitting the bird at the shoulder joints for the wings with their swords to ensure it hits the ground.

They and Zas back up, all of you standing ready. The… Thunderbird chuckles. “Heh… heh heh heh… excellent! Excellent!” Feet firm on the ground, sparks still jetting from its body, it definitely took a hard hit from that, but it’s still not done. Not yet. Its wings beat down, causing the ground beneath you all to shake… and some small sections to begin to fall. The wings do definitely seem damaged now, though, from the ice and all the attacks to them.

“Everyone, keep moving!” you call out to your allies, having Zas come back to you for a moment. You then Enchant the Phantom with Ice Magic, and send him out to block off the Thunderbird, drawing its attention away as it tries to make more sections of the ground fall. Then you keep jumping while focusing on the bird with the Tiara.

[Magic: 7/10]

And though the bird manages to deliver a few ferocious pecks at the knight, Zas holds firm, keeping its attention on him and even delivering some solid blows on the monster. You meanwhile guide your allies as they fight. Sheik keeps moving around, taking advantage of the distraction Zas is making by leaping across the area and slashing at the bird’s back before leaping away, leaving it unable to retaliate. Aveli though hops over a couple gaps and starts to spin with both her swords, the sheer weight of the blades causing her to move like a top as she hurdles towards the Thunderbird, you guiding her to its legs and causing it to stumble. Right as she stops spinning, though, the bird kicks her down and tries to push her into one of the holes it made, Aveli stumbling out of its way after the kick just in time.

Horon charges another of his fireballs and manages to hit the Thunderbird in the face as it attacks Aveli, landing a strong hit to it. However, it quickly retaliates by swiping its wing out, sending another electrified charge of energy at him that stuns him. Lynna meanwhile brings out the Gale Boomerang, magically charging it too, and flinging it out and thwacking the wing it used to attack Horon. The Thunderbird stumbles again, its other wing stabbing into the ground like a sword into dirt. Is it going to try to rip up the ground directly? Agh, but you’re close, just a bit more!

“We’re almost there! Everyone, keep at it!” While keeping focus still, you head in, leaping across the gaps yourself as you direct Zas to go for the Thunderbird’s head. The Phantom Knight grabs the beak of the beast, and looks like you predicted right as while he holds it in place, it charges up another beam of lightning. You dive under the Thunderbird’s wing, rolling and leaving a bomb beneath it. The Thunderbird belts out another blast of lightning, tearing through Zas, and while your bomb does detonate, the flailing from its wing being pulled forcefully out of the ground causes you to get smacked aside.

[Hearts: 6/11]
[Bombs: 4/10]

But you quickly get back on your feet, calling out for everyone to strike! Sheik slashes at its back, getting out of the way before it can retaliate once more, as Aveli slams her swords into its shoulders. Lynna and Horon stay back, the Thunderbird attempting one more blast of Lightning, but as it fires, Lynna gets in front of Horon and reflects it back at the bird perfectly. Allowing Horon to fully charge a fireball. “Down you go, birdy!” The massive fireball hits true and with enough force that the Thunderbird lets out a pained cry… and collapses.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HD87Ixy9p8

“You all did marvelously well.” the voice declares. “Working in unison, you have passed your final challenge.” The avian form of the Thunderbird fades around it, and where it once stood… you see a figure in robes standing… well, floating where the beast once lay, the fallen floor returning and filling the holes. Face is obscured by the robes, a strange shadow over its face, even its limbs covered. The soft, blue-white glow from before remains though. It crosses its covered arms, then splays them out, revealing wings underneath… and before it appear something surprising. FIVE heart containers. “Take your first reward, then I shall begin teaching you all your second.”

“All right, one each then.” Your group all walk forward, taking the Heart Containers. “Everyone, you all did phenomenally. You’re working like a well-oiled machine, I am ever so proud of how far you all have come. True teamwork is what allowed us to overcome this final trial.”

“Aww, thanks. That really does mean a lot coming from you.” Horon replies bashfully.

“Don’t sell yourself short, Z.” Aveli comments. “You’ve been leading us pretty well. Heh, guess it’s to be expected though.”

“I’d say more that you’ve improved with us.” Lynna adds in. “And I’m happy I could help you get this far.”

“I must admit, I… did not expect to really accomplish all I have done starting out. As Sheikah I am sworn to protect you. But…” She places her hand on her chest and looks to the rest of the group. “As Sheik, I must say I am happy to have you all as allies. As… friends.”

[Hearts: 12/12]

As you take in the Heart Container, you look over the robed figure, thinking on how, yes, you all managed to take it down together, but on its own it would still be immensely powerful. In fact… given what you saw it do before, holding off various invading monsters, perhaps that really was just a trial, and not the full power of the Thunderbird. And before all of you, you would guess it was something the previous Hero faced himself. So many powerful beings reside among these cloudtops, yet they leave the protection of the lands below in the hands of people like yourself, sharing but fractions of their power.

…Then again, are you not yourself the incarnation of Hylia, working to protect her people, her world? And perhaps there is reason only fractions are given rather than the full thing… seeing what happened with your father, after all. There is also that curse laid upon Hyrule, an incarnation of hatred that keeps finding its way back, even in spite of the best efforts of those before you, like Linkle, Onox, and the Queen who gave up her throne. And the Hero who gave his life to ensure you lived, denying Hyrule its champion to stand against Ganon when it needed it most. Yet… if he did not die, you… wouldn’t have met all those around you right now. Who show Wisdom, Courage, and Power used justly, even with their own quirks. And… what of Samiel? Subconsciously you rub the back of one of your hands.

“...Uh, Z?” Aveli nudges your elbow. “You’re kinda staring into the void there.”

You laugh shyly and blush. “My apologies, a number of thoughts were going through my mind.”

“It is understandable… Princess Zelda Hyrule.” the Thunderbird speaks to you, crossing its arms again and floating slowly towards an emerging pillar. “You come seeking the Magic this temple holds secret.” It motions you all to come closer. “Keeps out of the hands of the monsters from below… and any others who may wish to misuse it.” The Thunderbird then raises its arm, wing poking through again as a brilliant flash of lightning streaks out from it into the top of the room, vanishing into a lens of some kind. “Are you ready to begin?”

“Before we do… how is Samiel doing? Is he handling the monster he was seeking well?” you ask.

You see the figure’s head move back a bit, then tilt, looking at you curiously. As if you said something strange. It then looks past you… letting out a soft chuckle. “Samiel is well-trained. Do not worry.” Its arms spread out among the pillar, magical runes appearing on it. You catch a very brief glimpse of the what is underneath the hood as it bows its head slightly. “Now, shall we begin?”

Yay, see like that! Doesn't even have to go that fair, but I enjoy it nonetheless.
No questions riiight now but I wanted to share some of my favorite things from the qst thus far:

1. Zelda's obsession with tossin' her allies/ the fast-ball special (despite not liking when Sam did it to her).
2. The nicely-done tying of both elements of multiple prior Zelda games with adding some OC one(s) to the world.
3. Zelda distributing out the magic items which really is a nostalgic sentiment for me...
4. In addition, the "companion collection" felt quite natural, at the very least to the extent one would expect how Zelda characters would react/behave in such a scenario.
5. I think my favorite "chapter" was the Hyrule Castle infiltration, of which the multiple threads started/continued there I hope get developed even further.
6. and of course, Sheik head pats, which, considering her isolated and socially distant upbringing, you just KNOW she loves it.
>>

As you go over the runes on the pillar, you see that they actually form into Hylian letters. While the phrasing is quite archaic, you actually recognize how it’s organized and… see that it is quite like the Magic the Darknuts were looking into. Horon looks through it too. The both of you agree, this is definitely similar to the Ice Enchantment you both learned, but much more refined. You might manage something more like what the Thunderbird displayed if you put in the time needed to learn it.

You and Horon both go over the runes, first learning the Enchantment spell, and once that’s complete, the two of you test it out. You draw your sword and apply the Lightning enchantment to it, firing off a sparking Sword Beam into the distance. Horon attempts to combine it with his Gloves of Flame, and… while it does work, he doesn’t quite throw it quickly enough, some of the sparks catching his arm as he flings it out. “Ow ow ow ow ow!” the boy exclaims, trying to shake his arm. Still, it manages to work, and the fireball is instead much more focused. It reminds you of the rumored phenomena of ball lightning.

With that done, you and Horon then go over the next component with the Thunderbird, learning how to cast a different kind of spell: the blast of Lightning itself. While the Thunderbird shares some of its Magic in teaching this to you both, it makes it clear that it is something you and Horon must learn to handle yourselves. With your allies giving the two of you a wide space to practice, the two of you aim at the lens above you. Two hands forward, you fire up at it, and hit the target successfully. Horon does the same, this time timing it better.

The Thunderbird nods its head, then spreads its wings again, managing to refuel both you and Horon’s magic as a light shines beneath the two of you. And so it’s done. You’ve learned both [Lightning Enchantment] and [Lightning]!

You give the Thunderbird a respectful and polite curtsy. “Thank you for this. We promise not to misuse them. That said, before we go, might you have some insight into the maskborne enemies we have faced so far?”

“Some. I will say that while the one who has started all these incidents does not himself seem to be a creature of the underworld. However, he has an ancient presence to him. At least as old as the Great Deku Tree, perhaps older. Yet… I feel that he is not entirely in league with Ganon either. From what I have seen, he may view all he has allied with as merely tools for a grander scheme.” The Thunderbird shakes its head. “The purpose of that scheme, I can not quite say. But if I were to speculate… I would be wary, for you may play a purpose in his plans, should he come to understand your true identity.”

That sends a chill down your spine. “What do you mean?”

“Merely plunging Hyrule into darkness does not give much a result beyond chaos and destruction. That he is not of the underworld, that he has lived for so long, that he does not truly seem to have the interests of the likes of Ganon in mind, and that he has displayed very specific plans before, all give me reason to suspect he is seeking those blessed by Wisdom and Courage in addition to Power.” The Thunderbird crosses its arms. “However, I believe you all have shown the ability to overcome this challenge. Trust in your allies, your friends, and you all will save Hyrule.”

https://youtu.be/M1tZAWKQqJE

You give the Thunderbird a nod, and so you finally exit the chamber. And once outside… you hear the clashing of steel. Samiel! You pick up the pace, trying to locate where he went, and finding… a sight you definitely weren’t expecting. Before the Knight stands another figure, same size as him, but as if some horrid, corrupted mockery of his figure. Body looking like it is made of the Komaytos you had fought previously, twisted unnaturally into a humanoid form. Where Samiel holds his sword, a mutated claw blade jets out of the monster’s hand. Even the helmet looks more like some monster’s maw. Both of them look like they have taken a beating.

“Samiel!” Sheik calls out, her body ready to jerk forward. That catches the Knight’s attention, but he raises his hand, telling her to stay back. The abomination… chuckles. In what almost sounds like the Knight’s voice.

“Samiel!” you call out to the Knight. He looks back to you as you point to the Tiara. There’s a tense silence that follows as you wait for a response… and smile wide as the Knight gives a nod. And just in time, too, as the abomination is ready to fire a blast of magical energy up at you. Without a moment to lose, Samiel manages to deflect it with his sword, and you focus with your Tiara on the foe.

You see that there seems to be bits of frost on the monster’s body, near the torso, that have fractured and chipped away at the… armor? Carapace? Flesh? Whatever it is, looks like it’s a wound Samiel can exploit. The monster rushes the knight, clawed arm meeting the Knight’s blade, the sound the clash of steel you heard before. And… to your surprise, the monster speaks. With… a strangely feminine voice. Corrupted, scratchy, and as if being said through rows of jagged teeth, but nonetheless a slightly, recognizably feminine voice. “Hunter… more friends?” It… she…? pushes the claw harder at Samiel. “More… graves… for you to fill… heh heh heh…”

“Samiel, left side, upper torso, quick!” you call to the Knight. Samiel’s blade pushes up the monster’s claw, and with a duck and a spin the sword whirls around and lands in the weak point, ice shattering as the sword digs in deeper. Samiel pulls the blade back, leaving a bigger frozen spot, but gets a claw to the helmet as he does. Sheik and Horon jerk forward, but again, the Knight holds his hand back to them.

The monster gets back, trying to lash Samiel with tendrils that sprout from its other arm, only for him to roll under them, leaving a bomb behind for them to grab instead. It explodes and damages the tendrils, causing it to try and leap in the air and spin, attempting to tackle the Knight as he rolls. But you help Samiel see it coming, and he pulls out a small Hookshot that grabs the claw arm of the abomination and yanks it back when it lands. The monster screams, letting out a corrupted yell as it’s pulled back, attempting to lob an… unnatural black sludge at Samiel. The Knight fires a Sword Beam and freezes it in the air, with it exploding into an odd black mist. The pair leap back, then circle around one another, building up speed. They then stop, sword and claw pointed at one another as they launch forward like two bolts of lightning about to hit one another. You see Sheik tense up as they dash…

And the pair stand with their backs to each other. It was over in a flash, the sound of thunder echoing through the area. Samiel lets out a pained gasp, as you see a chunk of the Knight’s helmet has been torn away, showing blonde hair underneath… and a bit of a wound that starts to bleed…

…While a chunk of ice jets from the monster’s torso, taking chunks of flesh and carapace with it. The maw of a helmet growls. “…You… will… still… fa… faa… ll…” The monster’s voice seems to leave it, replaced with a guttural growl as it falls. Its body messily breaking apart, leaving behind… a mask, but not one with a monster’s face. A… woman’s. Samiel walks over to it, looking down at the mask. The Knight lets out a soft laugh.

You very, very purposefully try your best not to draw attention to… comments you have made or thought prior and instead approach Samiel with a warm smile. “Then let us start from the top. I am Zelda Hyrule, heir to the throne, on a quest to save Hyrule from being plunged into greater darkness with the help of my allies, and friends.” You motion to the rest, then offer your hand to the Knight, telling her, “I would guess it is hard to speak when someone else has your face, right?”

Samiel laughs, then shakes your hand. “One way to put that.”

Sheik approaches bashfully initially, but tries to regain her composure. Aveli’s grinning wide at Samiel, whole Horon’s mouth still hangs agape. Lynna meanwhile seems more curious, and is the first to speak up. “…So, is that why you just splashed in, full armor on, in that hot spring?” Her curiosity then fades as she blurts out. “You’re bleeding! A lot!” She sprints to Samiel and looks at the side of her head. “Stay still, please…”

The Knight lets go of your hand and lets Lynna heal her, looking down at that helmet. “Guess I owe you that too, kid. Could have been a lot worse without this.” She pokes your Tiara.

You make a more forced smile at the “kid” remark and ask her, “Can you tell us what, exactly, happened with that monster? Why was it… so similar to you?” You look over to Sheik with a very slightly teasing smile. “Though if you would rather Sheik transcribe all of it as before, I am sure she would not mind.” The Sheikah’s face reddens, her hand trying to hide it as she looks away.

Samiel rubs her throat, taking a deep breath, a light smile appearing on her face before she speaks. “I’d tracked down the Komayto, its final stage attempting entry to the Thunderbird’s domain. Kept it off your backs while you completed that trial, but right as I managed to get it out in the open, some hooded jackass landed on it and put… THAT on it.” She looks back at where she stabbed the mask. “And ran like a coward before I get ‘em.”

Ominous. “I suspect that is related to the individual who took your voice before. Did you get a good look at him, either time?”

“Short hair, reddish hazel, unassuming appearance, except for… this unsettling smile. The smile a habitual liar might make. Wore purple under the hooded robes. Best I can really give.” She gives Lynna a nod once the wound is healed. She rubs her throat again, once more.

You look over her facial features, and comment, “If… you may forgive me for this comment, but if I didn’t know better, I’d say you seem… Hylian yourself.”

Samiel brushes some hair from her ear, showing it more rounded, like Lynna’s. “I am the last warrior of the Wind Tribe.”

You sink back a bit, smiling nervously. Second misunderstanding. “My apologies then.”

As you walk along with her, you question Samiel, “Now that you have your voice back, what do you plan to do next? Are you still going to hunt Rahab, should it return?” She glances down at you. “If not… might you be able to help us still?”

“I’m not going to hunt it down at the moment. However, I do still have my own work to do. The Pirates won’t rest, even with this setback. They may return to the seas, searching for a way to bring back their other leader.” she replies.

“Other leader?” Horon repeats.

“The foe of the Ocean King and the Wind Fish. The demon of the abyss called Bellum.” she replies lowly. “Feeds off the life force of all natural beings, manipulating those it can to do its bidding. Helped stop it a long time ago.”

“So… you’re going to seek them out? Are you sure you can’t assist us for a while longer?” Sheik asks.

Samiel looks to the stars again as she walks. “…Tell you what. While I can’t babysit you lot, I can help look for the bastard teaming up with the Pirates. When we’re back down on the surface, I’ll give you a way to contact me.” She then pats Sheik on the head with her free hand, before looking to her helmet again. “…Going to need to get that repaired too.”

As you hear her speak of returning, you… recall how, exactly, you got up here. And how, exactly, you might get back down. You also narrow your eyes at Samiel just a bit. “So, you did know my true identity for quite some time.”

“Don’t worry kid, secret’s safe with me. Don’t really care that much either way. It’s your actions I care more about. And you’ve shown you’re not all talk.”

“Very well. How… are we going to get down, anyway?” you think to ask once your mind returns to the subject.

She smiles, then cryptically, and teasingly, replies, “I’ll show you when we get there.”

As you reach the entrance to the Temple, you recall something Sheik said previously. “Ah, um, while we do have to return soon, Sheik and I have something we need to… talk about. In private.” The Sheikah girl looks back to you and gives a solemn nod, Aveli and Horon curious, though Lynna understanding.

Samiel merely raises an eyebrow and comments, “Fine. Don’t take too long.” She then leads everyone forward. And so… it’s just you and Sheik right now.

She looks to you sternly. “…Two secrets I must tell you. The first is the most important, though. I… have been told to keep this secret with my life. So you must not let anyone else hear it.” Sheik has an almost pleading look on her face. “Can I hold you to this, Princess?”

Alright Ill shoot my shot:

Zelda is Sheik's sister
Impa is her mother

My basis are these two sections:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/47116536/#p47121339
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/1487793/#p1493094

Sheik had conflicting feelings on protecting the girl while being the result of Zelda's corrupt father's infidelity along with likely envious that Impa dedicated her time to Zelda instead of her own daughter by Sheikah Mantra, this further reinforces why she struggled in the pool. As such, all tender feelings were actually sibling Mamoru and not lesbo feelings.

“Absolutely. I am willing to hear both.” you tell her, making sure everyone is gone. “However… I must admit, I think I know already.”

“Then clearly keeping secrets is something we both struggle with.” Sheik remarks with just a hint of snark. “Are you willing to guess, then?”

With a sly smile, you reply, “Yes. And I must ask… does Samiel like you back?”

Her eyes widen and her face reddens. “P-Princess…” Sheik mutters.

“Well?” you ask, placing your hands behind your back and smiling wider.

Looking away, Sheik sighs. “She… told me to wait on those feelings. Until I am old enough to really know for sure.”

You clap your hands together in front of you. “That is good news, then.”

Sheik then clears her throat, voice serious and focused. “The name given to me at birth… was Terta. Y-… our father’s fourth child.” your sister tells you. “I am born of a Sheikah mother, but we share the same father. I am one of his bastards.”

You close your eyes. “And said mother is Impa.” And her eyes go wide again as you make that remark. “It… must have been hard knowing she was tasked with raising me while never getting the chance to raise you, too. You dedicated yourself to your duties as best you could, but you had to keep everything you could possibly say bottled up.” As you open your eyes, you see hers start to water. “Sheik… Tetra… I could never even begin to comprehend how difficult it all must have been. But I… could start to tell, after a while. Thank you, then, for finally allowing us both to talk like this, sister.”

Eh, not feeling it. At best "it's not just him being our father" so without the momentary badfeels, but time together seems like a weak reason? We spent similar time with everyone else. Not sure what to change it to though.

If Kato can think of something in the same spirit that works better, I'll support that.

I mean, she's on the same level as our other friends, which is a lot, but this revelation doesn't really add anything to that seeing as how the two girls didn't grow up together as sisters. Their shared father is more of a fun fact than anything.

You pull your sister in for a hug. She’s stunned for a moment, but then hugs you back, head on your shoulder… trying to hold back a soft sob. The two of you stay that way for a bit, until you finally let go. “I will say though, do not focus on our father as the reason we are family. Focus on what we have been through together. You are my sister, and I am proud to finally call you that.” She nods, rubbing the tears from her eyes. “This said, do you wish me to still call you Sheik? In private, that is.”

“If… you would prefer to call me Tetra in private, I will not oppose that. But I will say that I do accept what I am, what I have been trained to do. To the rest of the world, I am Sheikah. I am Sheik.” she replies, finally regaining her composure.

“So… if you are the fourth, and I am the first, would you know who the other two are?” you ask.

“I only know that one of them, possibly the second, was born to the Gerudo.” Sheik raises her hand. “And before you say anything, it is not Aveli. I am certain on that. Some among the Sheikah may be keeping tabs on them, but I myself do not know either of them.”

“Okay. Thank you… sister.” you tell her once more, the sweetest smile on your face as you speak the word. Sheik smiles back, then bows her head, the two of you finally returning to the group.

“So… you really did know the Hero, huh?” Horon asks.

Samiel nods. “It was brief, but I did know him.”

“Huh, so you were… what, 16, 17 when that happened?” Aveli asks.

The Knight gives her an amused look. “And what makes you say that?”

“I mean, you look only about as old as Lynna, maybe a bit younger.” she replies, Lynna raising an eyebrow at her.

Samiel laughs. “Is that so?” Noticing you and Sheik return, she gives a nod in your direction, leaning against the pillar that called forth the angel previously. “You two got all that sorted out?”

Sheik nods. “We have.”

“Ready to head back?” she questions next.

While you do have a moment to probably ask Samiel for some more sword training, it would probably be best to return to the surface. She can probably give you some other pointers another time anyway. You give her a nod and say, “I believe we are. Thank you, Samiel, for all you’ve done.”

She nods, and signals for the angel once more. As she does, a… rather large rodent of some kind, almost the size of a kitten, peeks its head up, looking at her. Samiel seems to recognize it, holding her hand out and letting it climb on her. Lynna lets out a soft “aww” as she sees the thing. “A friend of yours?”

Samiel pets the rodent gently, and soft sparks release from the creature. “Lil’ guy helped me out against Rahab once. I have the angels look after ‘em when I’m off on missions.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts91h-WzVG4

And as if on cue, this time, not one, but two fly down to you all. The first angel greets you with a wide, smiling face. “Haha, amazing! Looks like you all cleared it out in no time.”

“Eh, nearly took ‘em a whole night.” the other remarks.

“Sorry some of us don’t have wings, angel-face.” Samiel retorts.

Piteraq’s face lights up as he flies around her. “Sammy! You can talk again! Hahaha! This is wonderful!”

“Settle down, settle down, jeeze.” she grunts. “We’re going back down to the surface.”

“Oh! Okay, gotcha.” He crosses his arms and nods, then glances in your direction. “So! You guys passed all the trials, finished the bout with the Thunderbird, and even kicked some Pirate butt, if what Aquilo’s told me is true. So congratulations are in due, P-” He stops himself. “…Uh.”

“It’s no secret with anyone here.” Samiel comments.

“Ahem. Yeah. Right. Princess!” He claps his hands together. “And cohorts! Job well done! You’re all definitely ready for whatever challenges are ahead of you. If you’re ready to head back, follow me.”

As you do, Sheik does seem a little hesitant. “How exactly WILL we be going down?” she asks.

Piteraq brings you to… a rather massive cannon, matching the design of the one you all used to get up here, if slightly scaled up. Sheik freezes up, causing Samiel to chuckle slightly. “Need me to carry you on the way down, kid?” Sheik eases, though gives a bit of a pouting look to her.

“Oh, and before you go, here.” the angel gives you each a single large feather. “This’ll help you land safely if you miss the target.”

You blink. “The target being…?”

“Lake Hylia!” The angel slaps the cannon. “All right, hop in!”

Setting the rodent down and giving it a pat on the head, Samiel moves forward. “Need me to carry you in again, kid?”

You huff at her. “No, no, I believe I can handle this.” You take the feather and get in the cannon, focusing back on what all had been accomplished here. The trials are over. The Great Sky Temple’s boons have been granted. And the bonds between you and your allies are stronger than ever. You ARE ready, more ready than you ever were before. To save Hyrule!

Fun was had. Cool to see that I was on track for the reveal. Pretty scandalous and fitting for a flawed King to fuck his own wife/kid’s bodyguard and shows an equal flaw from Impa for totally going along with it despite her lifelong duty Kind of hot.Makes me wonder why the Sheikah didn’t ostracize her.

With that said, the boons acquired should be more than sufficient to b “prepared” for the Shadow Temple. M

Imo,
>eyes locked with those of a ruby red
seems pretty consensual to me.

Its an interesting line of thought that perhaps that King's corruption of power is one that also makes itself tangible through being charismatic/charming, much in the same way that OoT Ganondorf gained the King's ear enough to get close enough to betray him. In that way, Impa's adultery demonstrates a weakness to/is corrupted by Power as well, even if by degrees.

The Sheikah were very aware of what went down, but ended up caught in a conundrum over it because of their oaths to the royal family. They decided the best way to go about it is to do their best to keep such a thing from leaking out.

>>4217740
A very interesting way to consider that. I will say that, while the King was corrupted by Power, corruption doesn't happen all at once, and such corruption can have very different effects on different people. Consider how old both Sheik and Zelda are, and how long ago the civil war was.
>>
>>4219028
Hey Kato, I've been pondering. From some of the hints you've given about them previously, and, well, given what you run, you seem to be into game design. Do you have any actual game design pitches or document write ups or something for some of these potential Zelda games? I'd be interested to hear them if you're willing to share.
>>
File: mark.jpg (13 KB, 480x480)

Not exactly full write-ups or pitches, but I do have mechanic ideas on how it would function, though more in how it ties into the story and character of Linkle, and now Zelda. I can give a bit more if you'd like, though.

Linkle's main "gimmick" as the Hero of Beasts, and the thing that sets her first story, Mark of Beasts, apart, is her ability to tame and befriend various kinds of animals, far more than any other Hero. A bit of this comes from her background as a farmhand, raising cuccos with her uncle, and expanded from the deer she saved starting out. The animals she can call upon have various abilities and roles, some functioning as transport, some as allies in battle, some as utility animals that serve in the place of certain items (mechanically this would transfer into Wiimote gimmicks, but I digress). Deer, goats, horses, boars, bears, moose, flying bears, kangaroos, swimming dodongos, giant owls, seals, a certain magical fox you may already be familiar with, and more can serve as transports for her, befriended and tamed through gifts and a bit of grit. Animals like wolves, dogs, coyotes, smaller foxes, large crabs, ostriches, cassowaries, and even cuccos can serve as companion animals that will primarily aid her in battle, and occasionally find certain useful things while out exploring. Other animals like monkeys, chimps, crows, gulls, bunnies, frogs, even octopi have more utility roles and could assist in solving certain puzzles. Of course, none of these are rigid distinctions; a bear can still maul something in addition to being used as a mount just as a dog can help solve puzzles or a monkey assist in battle.

It's one reason why she's also the protagonist of the re-imagined Oracle combo game, Oracle of Secrets, as there's a heavy emphasis on animal companions. This animal emphasis also factors into her main foe, the Beast of Power, that was spreading a cursed mark on several animals and animalistic spirits and corrupting them into being servants of its Power. King Onox and Queen Zelda were unwittingly playing into the schemes of the Beast of Power at first, and Linkle had to work to get them to stand against it as well. While Onox and Zelda do have steeds and companions of their own, neither of them are as capable as Linkle in terms of taming and befriending animals; Onox tending towards a massive boar as his steed while Zelda had a royal horse. Such a thing plays into the party system present in the final story they all went through, Triforce Champions, where Linkle, Onox, and Zelda all truly worked together as the Heroes of Courage, Power, and Wisdom to keep the Beast of Power locked away for good.
>>
>>4233459
That's really neat. Honestly makes me kinda want to play something like that. Zelda game with large focus on animal companions.
