Otome Love Empire was your usual Otome Game, being that it was set in the Holy Austin Empire. Our protagonist could remember when she played the game offhandedly, interested in the buzz after reading quite a few Otome Novels. However the plot was rather plain, a simple love plot of a lonely Count trying to get with their Lover with a Villaness spiting her the entire way.

Though after death by runaway truck, she was now herself. Princess of the MaKain Duchy that laid between the Holy Austin Empire and the Miaphate.

So, will she survive?

Hello everyone, welcome to Otome Gone Wrong Quest. For those interested in how the structure of the game, we will start here in the prologue during his Childhood up to the age of 14. It will act as a sort of Character Creation in order to build up her Skills.

For Rolling Systems, we will be using d100s with skill ranks that go 1-100. In this system, the lower the check is the better. The system will aim to be more free flowing, so if you maxed out Intrigue you guys could focus on creating an entire spy network over a time skip.

Besides all that, I hope you all enjoy the coming mayhem to come. I plan to run this to as far as I can, but due to the chaos these days you never know.

>So to Start, what would be the name of our Villainess to be?

Also, here is the Character Sheet that will be edited from here on wards: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A2aUXfUocnpjICgeRS4QKeo5d5N4kj6e_Y1vUM78bcE/edit?usp=sharing

It was when she was about two years of age that Maria realized who exactly she was. It might have been a bump on the head or maybe she fell out of the cradle which caused it. All she really knew was that she was not who she was supposed to be.

However, all she knew was that she was Maria Louisa Reginar and her past self was now also Maria.

“Will she be alright?” She looked up to see a rather intimidating man say to a dark robed man.

“I have tried my best, though sometimes my arts do not attain the best results.”

“Hopefully your best results didn’t end up scaring her for life!”

“I am sorry sir, but do you not have three sons already? From my lifetime, having too many children could strain a realm’s future.”

She watched as the older man gripped her cradle, the wood becoming strained from his sheer weight, “She is of my blood, Valor, and a woman. She might be our hope to integrate into the Holy Austin Empire, and I have already begun talks with the Emperor about marriage.”

“Oh, I see her future is already decided.” The cloaked figure gave a short laugh, “Well if any flair ups occur again, please come to me once more.”

“Tsk, we’ll see.”

With that the black figure left her bedchambers as if he was simply gliding across the floor. The older man simply clicked his tongue before resting himself on the side of the cradle. His frown soon morphed into a smile as he noticed her purple eyes were open.

“Oh, you have seen a bad side of me. Sorry about that.” He picked the little girl up into his arms, “What to do oh what to do. Maria, do you want me to read you one of those maid stories?”

It's all good OP. Out of curiosity, was Bakarina the inspiration for this quest?
>>
>>4238627
You can say I've been in the Otome section for about a year now, so they all really meld together. If I had an inspiration though, it would actually be the game Long Live the Queen, the Otome I Want to Be You, Just For A Day, and lastly the Otome Web Novel Eliza.

Take those inspirations as framework on how this story will end up.
>>
“Yes, Maid story!” Maria answered with a smile.

“Alright then, lets see here.” The older man reached over and picked up a small book that laid off to the side before reading it.

“So there was once a Young Lady…”

And so he told the story of a Madam who was forced to stay out of the public eye. Being a bastard child she would not have gotten far, however it was thanks to her studious behaviour that the girl luckily made it on top, trampling against her hostile half sisters.

As he read aloud the story, Maria could not help but feel how similar Madam's story was to the original game…

Court Etiquette has been risen to 50

The tides of time turn from when she was a simple two year old to six years of age. Inspiration has for the most part taken her ever since her Father, Rado the Dragon, read her the story. She knew in the future that she would need to work hard to stand within her Father’s Court.

Today, her Sixth birthday, was the first time he allowed her to stand in the court. She was to his immediate right, a place that once should have been reserved for her oldest Brother Dane. However the boy was sent to inspect the fortresses on the Southern Border.

“Interesting, so you believe that the Miaphate are planning an invasion?” her Father asked the scrawny man who stood in the center of the Court.

“I-Indeed! The Miaph sees your territory as a grand step towards his subjugation of the Holy Austin Empire. He seems to already be attempting to recruit as many able body men in order to serve his banner.”

“Then I guess he didn’t learn from the last time he tried.”

“Indeed, he has not.”

Maria did not really know what was going on. From whatever her previous self knew, the Miaphate was no real threat to the Holy Austin Empire, as neither shared any borders. So that must mean whatever conflicts coming up would probably result in the victory of the MaKains.

“Oh, sorry you needed to hear something so dry Maria.” The man quickly turned to his daughter with a smile, “Bring in the next fellows would you guards?”
>>
The men on the other side of the hall nodded, soon bring out a small group of men. Each looked to be savvy in their own rights. Her father smile grew just a little more as he waved his hand across the people before them.

“These men I have assembled to educate you, each a wonder in their own field. However, we do not have the funds nor do you have enough time for more than two men. As such, I ask you to choose from them.”

Her tutor, Leopoldo took another swig of his glass, “Alright, you understand this all kid? This shit can be really heavy don’t ya know?”

“Uh, always work with everybody and if you want to get information from them you’re suppose to get them drunk. Right?”

The old man gave a hearty laugh while slowly picking himself up from the chair, “Sounds about right, and seein’ that you provided me with enough alcohol I’ll say you’ve taken my words to heart.”

“I try.” She answered with a courteous bow.

“And it seems you’ve taken the other bastard’s lessons to heart. I just hope you havn’t started listenin’ to all his heresy have ya?”

“Uh, I try my best to keep him on track.”

“Good, now I’m gonna leave since you got someone at the door.”

“Someones at the do-” before she could even finish the knock came, a small voice calling in for Maria herself.

“Hehe, I’d also warn ya that not all senses are dulled thanks to Alcohol, so be careful with those you give it to.” And with that he opened the door, revealing a small boy who was only four years Maria's senior.

“Sister, I was looking all over for you!” he announced while running across the room in a sprint.

“Hans, you should know I am always here to study.” Maria scolded the boy, “And you almost interrupted us. I need to learn as much as I can, you know.”

“What, so you can wed the Prince of the Empire?” he laughed with a dumb smile, “You never wanted to though!”

“Guh!” She could feel a slight bit of guilt running through her heart at the boy’s accusations. Indeed she did not want to chase down one of the Emperor’s Children as they were all capture targets, but surely there must be at least a fellow Duke willing to help them join. However, she had only mentioned it once and was scolded for such thinking.

She was the Daughter of the Dragon, she was destined for greatness.

So she changed the topic, “So were you doing right now?”

“Training, but I was able to escape the tutors before they could beat me to a pulp.” He answered with a smile before it became far more devious, “Though maybe you need to go get some training sister.”

“W-what are you saying!?”

“Hehe, you’re getting Chubby on us. That mean I’ll start calling you my Littler Pig Sister.”

While I would have been driven to a fury by his insult, I read between the lines easily, “Tsk, you are just trying to provoke me are you not you?”

“Oh, come on Maria. It was always hilarious when you get angry.” His face soon grew a solemn puppy dog look, “Please…”

“Fine, last one to the top of the Chapel is a rotten egg!” Maria announced before making a dead sprint towards the

“H-hey! You can’t just go!”

HIs cries however rang on empty ears as Maria had already began her sprint towards the Chapel. If it was her past self, she would never have imagined doing something like this. However as Maria, she quickly started to scale the walls of the Chapel like they were nothing.

Her eyes quickly found small crevices and railing that was exposed, each of which she exploited to her own benefit. Memories of a game about assassins rang into her mind, however she filed them away into useless memories.

The wind soon passed through her hair as Maria looked over the grand lookout of their castle. Up against the walls were the golden stalks of wheat and rye while beyond that were the great mountains that separated them from the Holy Austin Empire. Impossing they were, since while they were hundreds of miles away they could still be seen from a simple Chapel.

“Agh, w-why are you so fast Maria.” her brother said as he finished climing to the roof.

“Simple Bon, you just need to be skillful in the art of finding the easiest way up.”

“You went right up the wall.”

“And the fastest.”

“Guh.” With that the boy laid down on the roof in exhaustion, “Sister, why are you stuck in the study for so long?”

“Because I need to learn, Bon.”

“Is it still about that marriage. If I become Duke, you won’t need to marry because our territory will be the strongest of them all!”

“Is that so?” Maria could not help but laugh a little, “Then I can’t wait to see it.”

Just as the pair began to enjoy the lookout over the world, the sound of doors being swung open came from underneath them. Maria looked over just out of curiosity, her eyes widening at the angery man.

“What in the world are you two doing up there! Get down from there.” Father Minart yelled over the two.

“Oh no, we are going to get in trouble!” Bon quickly began to back away from the edge in fear.

“Alright, we’ll come down.” though thinking about the experience, surely she would be able to tell people on how silly things seemed to have gotten.

And like that, the rest of her year went before her eyes. From the age of six, she learned and experienced things about the world. Her tutors drilled into her head the several lessons on her Royal Demeanor and Economics, leading her to also gain an understanding on Intrigue and History.

It was when she was ten years old however that it happened, the Miaphate declared a War sighting MaKain as being pagan heretics. All in all, a Holy War.

Maria, due to her ability as a Royal was now allowed to stay by her Father’s side whenever he was home in the barony. Even the War Room was allowed these days.

Partial increase in Military

“Here, this is where we will lead them.” Rado the Dragon announced while they looked over a map of the realm. Maria could barely see where he was pointing, but the small line of blue easily showed a river.

“That would be risky, but if we can lure them over the waters it would put them in a massive disadvantage.” Her first brother Dane, who she never really saw much, answered, “Though what would lure them across it?”

“The Duke and his Sons.” Answered Caine, her second brother.

“Indeed, so I expect you all to leave before Sunrise. I have already asked the Counts to raise their levies, so we should be able to meet up in Famstag.”

Her two brothers gave nods to the Duke, soon making their way out of the room. As they did, she could feel a soft patting on her head by Rado, “Sorry I had to raise you in times of war. If there is anything you want, I will do it to make up for such a troubling Childhood.”

“I want to go with Papa!” Maria announced with a stern call.

“Really? It will be dangerous for sure.”

“Yup! I want to make sure Papa is safe!”

“Alright…” Relented the Rado, “Come along then, we need to see about getting you some armor.”

It was only a few weeks later that the army was on the move. From what Maria heard, the damned Miaphate had already crossed onto the main continent with their main army. Rumor had it that the force they carried was about 25,000 men, easily dwarfing the mere 10,000 the Duke was able to muster.

While they were at a clear disadvantage, a single victory in the Mues river could turn the entire war on top of its head.

In the time, Maria has been trying to learn all she can. The men on campaign thought it was silly for the Duke to have brought his daughter at the start, but all of them have been endeared to the girl once she started training with them. For Maria, she could comfortably say she was adept when it came war these days.

“How close is the Miaphate?” Rado asked as they looked over the map.

“They are coming into position right about here.” Dan while overlooking the map of the nearby region, “From what the scouts have said, the Miaph has decided to come along campaign with them.”

“So you’re saying we could cut the head off the snake in one fail swoop?” Caine said with a smile, “With how many Children he has, their empire is going to go into Civil War for sure.”

“We should probably be ready to face them by high noon tomorrow.”

“No, I want to go!” Maria announced with a stern voice, “I want to make sure Papa is safe.”

“The man seemed to chew on her words for a moment. He looked around the room a little bit, noticing his sons simply shaking their heads in a shallow humor.

It was Dane who stepped forward, “I can assign to her ten men easily enough. The moment they see trouble they can flee to the nearest fortress.”

“Thank you brother!” Maria exclaimed with a smile.

“Just worry about your precious little face once in a while.” He quickly pinched her cheeks fro a moment before backing away, “Let’s get the men ready then, going to be quite the day tomorrow!”

And like that Maria spent the night being outfitted with a heavy cloth tunic and the like. Time seemed to fly by for her, as soon they were off to meet the Miaphate in battle.

They placed her on the top of a hill, one that was easily able to overlook the battle below. With Maria was a small group of five horsemen, to which she stood proud with. These men were wearing a sort of light armor, just the right stuff for a unit to strike fast or flee with ease.

On the battlefield she watched as the two groups assembled on either side of the river, waiting for one another to move. She noticed two figures that seemed to stand out over the armies, one whose presence somehow gripped her from the Miaphate’s side.

She could only guess it was the Miaph, leader of their entire Empire.

It was only when her Father showed himself to the enemy that the enemy moved, charging through the waters while arrows flew from behind her father.

And like that the battle was on.

The force of MaKain moved forward with their shields, matching their enemy on the coast. They kept the enemy inside the soft sands, making it hard for their footing to stay. Maria had to admit it was a brilliant move, something that her Father would definitely achieved.

Military Test Succeed

There was something off about the attack though, they should not have been so easily drawn into the fight. She could see the Miaph standing there as if he was some kind of dummy.

“Hey uh, Martin wasn’t it?”

“That's my name, don’t wear it out kid.” The man said with a small bit of irritation.

“The Miaph, his presence is well, otherworldly. What's up with that?”

“It’s said to be a gift from their God to the one who leads their people.” He answered with a slight bit of irritation, “Far as I know, any who descend from the First Miaph have that pull though. It’s just proof of right.”

It was then that a spark crossing her mind, “Descendants, does that mean they can set one up as a decoy?”

“Oh, that would be smart.” The man’s eyes slowly widened as he looked over the mayhem of war, “Where’s their cavalry?”

It only took Maria a moment to figure that out, “They are coming from the North, there was a modest road that was supposed to cross by there. They mean to hit Papa’s flank!”

So here is a question I wanna ask everyone. I realized it would be easier if I set things more in the skill check range instead of you all needing to roll for it. Similar to how things happen in something like Skyrim, I will simply check your guy's total skill in something to see if you can get better outcomes.

This will however not change combat, as those checks always have some room for error in them.

“Come on, we need to go down there so we can save them!” Maria yelled at her five horsemen.

The Horseman Maria was riding with spoke, “W-we were told to keep you up here, your safety is-”

“Are you going to question my authority and risk my Father’s life!” Maria claimed with a sharp tongue to her.

Royal Demeanor Skill Check Passed

“Do what she said!” one of the other men announced with bringing up his reins, “If it's what she said the attack could risk wiping out the entire army.”

“Tsk, fine we’ll do what the young lass wants. It’s your head that will be hung though if we get this wrong!”

“Then it’ll be my wallet if we get this right!” he laughed before making his way upfront, “Come on, we need to get the little misses to battle don’t we?”

And like that they charged down the hill’s edge, going at speeds Maria only remembered from her times in the modern world. They were quickly taking her to the Norther flank, where she could see her brother Dane standing on look out over it.

Her brother did not notice her arrival as the roars of battle were evident. However as she looked over to see a series of shadows in the distance. Unmistakably, it was the Miaph’s army.

“Take me to the army’s side.”

“Won’t that put us in between the flankers and our men?” Her drivers asked before shaking his head, “You know what, fuck it I’m already dead.”

He did just as told, bringing the Horse right next to their flank. If Maria had to be honest, she did not really know if this was going to work but she sure as hell was going to try.

“Men, turnabout to the left! Incoming Cavalry!”

Royal Demeanor Skill Check Passed

Just as those words left her mouth the enemy appeared before them. Her attention was easily drawn to a man in gaudy armor that seemed to shine above everything else. Such presence was not of this world, like a God among men.

He was the Miaph!

Animal Handling Check Failed

Her driver tried to move the horse out of the way of the incoming soldiers, but instead the beast reared upwards in retaliation. He swiftly covered Maria’s body with his own as the horse began being stabbed by a great series of spears and arrows. The sound of hooves running over Maria was sounding to be very dangerous. Harrowing as it was, there was a small if dangerous idea poping into her head.

If she ended up behind enemy lines, then she might have a chance at taking someone important out. So she lied in wait, her eyes looking over the deadman’s shoulder for anything valuable. Her vision slowly looking about.

First thing she quickly realized was the soldiers matching with the cavalry. Due to her intervention, the line was able to hold against the horde.

Maria kept her eyes moving now, seeking out for a viable target.

Intrigue test succeed

Maria’s attention was quickly taken up by a figure who stood looking over the field. The man looked to be of more southern origin, his face easily forign to her.

This was the Miaph, that much she knew.

With her objective in sight, she reached over and withdrew the late driver’s sword. Under the cover of mayhem, she prepared herself to strike at the man by slowly picking herself off the ground and steadying her blade.

She might not be the best fighter, but him just standing there was as good of chance as any.

With a quick breath Maria swift jumped from her cover with a jolt, her blade within hand. It was to her luck, that none of the other Horsemen seemed to notice the living death crawling from underneath themselves.

She ran, crossing the great many horseman who were running themselves against the MaKain frontlines. She had to nimbly cross through the few hundreds horses who were not looking her way, using all the skill she gained in the early years of her life in order to pull it off.

Which begs the question, what the hell was she even doing now!?

Once Maria was from modern earth, Japan if she remembered correctly. In her time here, she had adjusted to living with her new family and developed skills that she never thought she would gain. And here she was, ready to actually kill someone!

But then again, this man threatened her family. He is going to die for that.

And with that Maria finally crossed reached the man who was barking orders in an unknown language. With her weapon poised, Maria launched herself at the man’s opened helm.

He noticed her at the last moment, his eyes widening at the sight of a blade just before they reached his eyes.

The sound of metal going through flesh would be with Maria for the rest of her life.

“GAH!” with a beastial cry the Miaph’s horse reared itself, Maria being forced to ride the beast out. Its master had a sword with a good few inches lodged into his brain. The girl no matter how much she tried, she knew that she would not be able to control such a beast.

So just like that, she along with the corpse of the fallen Miaph fell over. Already she was pushing her ten year old body to the limit, so when her head hit the hard ground she was knocked unconscious.

The battle officially ended in victory to the MaKain, but at heavy cost. Two of the Duke’s three Children were killed when they attacked from the flank, the Lord himself surviving only through the quick wit of his daughter.

Her fate however changed after this. As within a week of regaining her mind she was now within a grand Court that was much larger than her father’s. It was covered in the adornment of writing and scripture, the sight of a thin golden light from the sun shining in.

Standing upon the throne was a middle aged man, his attire that of an Emperor. He was speaking in a foerign tongue to the court of men and women, he continuously gestured towards Maria.

Honestly the last few weeks have been a blur, changing hands from a variety of soldiers and guards. Everyone seemed on edge, though with every word the man spoke people seemed to slowly calm down.

It was then that he finally turned towards Maria, speaking in a butchered MaKain tongue, “Why do thy think I did not kill thee? One who killed my Father.”

I did not answer him.

“Thy is my Hostage so thy’s Dragon does not tear us asunder. They will be my Hostage for ten years, after which thy will return.” he made a motion with his hands, the guards around Maria beginning to move, “May thy learn civility of the Miaphate, Killer of Emperors.”

And like that she was carried away by the guards who did not bother to weild her with care. They were odd, in her honesty, their skin stark white and hair roughed in comparison to the dark tone of the Miaphites.

“Alright, here is your room Kingslayer. Your tutoring will start here tomorrow on the Emperor’s orders.” one of the guards said while leading her into a rather modest room, “You’re a few hundred feet up and two guards are on ya. So my suggestion is don’t try anything stupid will ya.”

And with that the man shut the doors, locking them up from the outside.

Yeah, its pretty clear things have derailed from the original plot. She was Suppose to be Maria Louisa Regnia, the villainess of an Otome game. If she didn’t do anything about it now though, she was going to miss going to the academy for sure!

Then again, there were probably much worse things to worry about. Just what does she need to do now is the question?

>Try and get closer with the guards. They might not share the same views of the Miaphate.

Maria looked over the nightlife of the city she was held hostage in, small lights and fires all about the place easily showing how livly the people were still. Though they were not the only activity, as even today Maria could hear the sounds of men fighting off in the distance.

It was like a small echo of her recent past, and that kind of terrified her. Nights have not been the best time for her these days.

Her instructors, which included a brutal hag, never told her anything. They were like mouthpieces trying to brainwash or beat her into believing that the Miaphate was the best place on earth. Though she honestly could tell that they were going through some kind of Civil War.

A small urge caused her to get up, the sounds of clay tiles ringing in her ear. Maybe it was the age of the building or the style, but Maria found this place equally as climbable compared to her home. Sometimes she would even slip up and stay on the rooftops as she always felt better on them.

Why did she stick around, well honestly it's because she has no real escape. She was obvious to the natives, a white skinned Kainite compared the reasonably tanned Miaphate colors. If she took to the streets Maria would be spotted easily. Her only chance might be if some merchants from abroad come, but she was not as lucky as to see them yet.

There was also the fact that maybe she would find something valuable.

So she returned to her room, scaling down through her window into the place. She could feel her arms burning, but it was honestly better than doing nothing.

It was then that her doors began to unlock, which was something that normally does not happen. The door opened to reveal a small boy flanked by two of those foreign men coming into the room. He was handsome for looks to be about twelve, and Maria could feel the draw of attention to him.

He was obviously a descendent of Kalee, the first Miaph.
>>
“So this is where my cousin leaves locked up the Killing of the Emperor? Quite a stark place if you ask me.” He said with a laugh, “My name is Soloman, my father was Zaamil whose father was Miaph Fawzi.”

She was surprised, as who would not be when the child was obviously speaking several years his senior. However it was her training that kept her speech together, “I am Maria Louisa Regnia, princess to the MaKain Duchy and daughter of the Dragon.”

“You should add Kingslayer to those names, it is your right after all.” He laughed once more.

“Would that not be an affront to everything that is you Miaphate?”

“You would be correct, however it’s not mine… yet.” He moved towards what was a small table in Maria’s room, placing himself upon the floor as they never used chairs here, “Let us talk business, Kingslayer. We wouldn’t want there to be an accident tonight would we?”

Maria’s eyes shifted towards the two guards, though they did not make a single motion. Slowly but surely she took a seat, wariness of the boy who sat across.

“So, what are you here for?”

“Easy, I want you to assassinate the current Miaph.”

“...”

“What, you killed the last one pretty well putting a blade through his skull.” The boy laughed with a wave of his hand, “And since my Father died in the battle, I have finally gained his claims to the throne.”

“Your father… he was the decoy!”

“Yup, that was him. Killed by an enraged Dragon.” He continued to laugh, though now Maria could feel it was becoming more and more cynical as they went on, “Now the Civil War rages between brothers, and I will win the outset in the end. It would just however be easier if I killed the winner first.”

“And what do I get if I follow through with your scheme.”

“I make you my bride.” he answered with a smirky grin, “Isn’t that what the Duke wanted, to marry his daughter off to an Empire so that they would come out on top?”

A return ticket home.

Hardly fair that Maria does the dirty work and takes on the most risk, while Soloman ends up with the empire and the (accidentally) most prolific young woman in his country as his bride. He's confident, but has yet to show himself competent or capable of her protection, so siding with him and staying in the Miaphate is an undue risk, especially after killing two (potentially more) Miaphs.
If/When she's successful, Soloman will facilitate Maria's return to the MaKain Duchy and focus on the civil war. If/When he is victorious in his war, then he has proven himself competent and can make a bid to court her properly. If he doesn't even try, all the better.

Maria looked at the boy with widened eyes, her heart skipping a small beat for the moment. To propose marriage for murder was something she never expected to hear. He was charming, but to her that supernatural charm was something that she could somehow write off. Somehow, she felt that should not have been the case before, but here she was.

“Do you expect me to marry a boy who has not even proven himself a competent ruler!” She announced with a sharp sting in her voice, “If I was to marry you afterwards, what if someone better than you takes the armies for himself and takes the throne! I would be a sitting duck with you!”

Upon her words the boy became shock himself, once cheery and laughing eyes became that of complete and utter surprise.

Well, he did just get rejected by a prisoner.

While he was stunned, the two guards behind him finally began to faulter. It began as a small laugh but soon became a symphony of hilarity and cursing in tongues that Maria could not understand. The boy quickly turned around red in the face and began to yell back at them in the same tongue red faced, just like a child.

Maria could not help but join the atmosphere, no matter how odd it was when they were just talking about murder and assassinations.

“Of by the Great Gods.” the boy said in his native tongue, which was something Maria was starting to learn after all her tutoring with the wicked ladies, “You guys done laughing at my embarrassment.”

“Sorry Junior but you gotta, being rejected by a prisoner was funny.” The larger of the two spoke.

“Well, that does not mean I didn’t agree with the idea.” Maria claimed finally as the room calmed down, “Give me leave back to my home in MaKain. Once you have finished these Civil Wars and prove yourself a proper ruler, you are allowed to make a proper bid for becoming my wife.”

“...”

“Hehe, she’s playin’ hard to get with ya isn’t she.”

“Shut up!”

The boy took in a breath while making a slight pout with his lips, “Fine, I will prove myself. When the say comes you will be begging to be my first wife.”

“First, why not only wife.” She said with a smirk, “I know you Miaphites have some weird customs, so I might as well make it straight now. I am going to be your only wife, no seconds or mistresses.”

“Tsk. Fine.” His face was once again beet red as he looked over the girl.
>>
“Alright, now that we’ve come to an agreement I guess we need to solidify the details.” She admitted while leaning onto her back hand, “How do you even expect me to even do this? Surely I would be killed by his guards.”

“Well, I’ll admit it doesn’t make sense, but so does someone somehow climbing all over their own prison.”

“You saw?”

“More like the guards already knew.” he waved a hand towards the two men behind him, “These men are Gunnar and Vidar, both members of the Valrian guard who keeps order here.”

“Hehe, nice introduction.” the larger one said with a huff, “You can say some men admire the Kingslayer. So much so that they are letting her go out at night even when she’s not supposed to.”

“So.. I got admirers…” Maria bit her tongue slightly for thinking that everything she did was truly covert, “So you have the guards, I assume you Valrians don’t want to dirty yourselves with regicide?”

“Well it's not good business practice to kill your employer. We are just lazing on our duties you can say.”

With a nod Maria moved subjects, “Alright, so that leads me to how you are going to secure the throne.”

“I’ll admit it will take a while, maybe a few years.” Soloman admitted, “However I already have a powerbase in the east who don’t like the family line who have been killed by a ten year old girl and are holding said girl captive just to save their hides.”

“So… your aim is a final humiliation.”

“Exactly.” He made a pointed motion with a smile, “But these plans take years, so take your time when figuring it out. Hell, I still need to figure out how to send you home now.”

“Then thats all we need from one another I assume?”

“Indeed. If we had wine I’d give a toast to our plans.”

“You might not want to, it might be poison.”

“Hehe, well I’m out Kingslayer. Good days to you.”

And like that, the boy picked himself up and left the room. The two guards behind him patting his back while still holding back their laughter.

And so for the coming months Maria began to work on the network. When it came to fateinizing with her guards it was actually pretty well done. They seemed to enjoy telling tales of heroism and trying to pick at what Maria herself accomplished.

All in all, they respected her for her achievement.

As such, they were quite fine just letting her wonder outside the room if she never bothered to open the locked door. Why even one occasion she hopped out her window only to climb I to the one next to it.

Tonight, which would mark about seven months in captivity was not much different.

"So the Emperor is leaving on a campaign against his brother Alum?"

"Yup, and that means we are going to make a nice killin' soon." The man laughed with a mug of need in his hand, "Though I gotta say kid have you done anything recently?"

Maria could only shake her head, not wanting to admit using the guards as her resource.

"Well you are gonna be rusty if you do nothing. How about this, you do a favor for me and I'll do one for you."

"And what would that favor be?" Maria dared to ask him.

"You see, in this fortress is one of the biggest and oldest wine cellars of the Empire. I want you to get me the best tasting bottle of wine you can find!"

"That's it?"

"What else am I gonna ask from you, sex!?" The man bellowed with laughter, "I don't want to find a dagger in my bed or on my neck thank you very much."

"And what are you willing to do as a favor?"

He gave another mighty laugh, "Relax the guard detail one day."

“Alright, I’ll see what I can do.” Maria answered back to the man with a smile, “Though where exactly is this wine cellar?”

“Oh the Cellar? In the deepest, darkest corners of the servants quarters. You know, where all those people wearing black come from.”

“Thats… gonna be a problem.” She could already feel the icy ruler of her tutor for finding her in such a place.

“Oh, a problem for the Kingslayer? I’d hate to see what those servants can do then.” He announced with a hearty laugh.

And with that Maria went back to her room, her thoughts on what the hell to do it were already underway.

A few weeks have gone by, and just like the soldier said the Miaph left to head on campaign. Maria could already tell it was going to be a grueling affair, one that would take months for it to conclude before the man even has a chance of returning. However, that only meant he was going to be much more worn out when the time came back.

In honesty, it will probably be the time she aimed to assassinate him.

With that thought filed away however she began to make a plan, one to steal some wine from a wine cellar. Honestly not that damn tricky, but it was good practice for when she needed to attack the Miaph.

Placing her ear on the door, the native tongue of the Morse were audible. That meant that she was finally free to do as she pleased. Though that only left the question, how should she go about it?

With a breath Maria reached outside, gripping on the stones that stuck themselves just right. All in all her skill had ended up being something of a wonder to even herself. Never in her life had she thought these feats would become nessecary in her daily life, but here she was climbing her way up to the rooftop.

Yup, things have definitely gone wrong.

[Agility Test Succeeds]

Soon she found herself on the roof of the fortress/keep/admin building sort of thing. From what she could tell, the main building rested on the inside of massive walls that reached high into the air. Behind it was the place she resided, a castle that had more in common with a cathedral than an actually keep.

Then again when she looked over the entire city, Maria could see the large and epic wall that encompases it. From her lessons, such walls were built by the ancients and were never pierced until the Original Miaph placed his sights upon the city.

However, that was enough time looking at the scenery. The sun was already setting, and she should hope to still have enough light to navigate the walls.

So she made her way around, finding a simple area that seemed stark of people. Slowly but surely she made her way down on the darkened side of the wall. It was to her luck that those present did not pay heed of her exploit, instead finished what she guessed was gardening work.

And like that she was on the soft ground. Maria never realised how much she desired to feel the soft ground under her feet, but here she was getting nostalgic.

Quickly though she escaped into the open doors of the keep, and almost instantly Maria realized she was lost. Once getting passed the large amount of gardening tools and boots, she was in a hallway with no defining features.

Oh how she should have explored the damn palace, but then she could not have gotten this opportunity in the first place.

Well, Maria would admit the best way to do things would be to ask someone. However such an act would obviously not be for the best in her condition. She was a prisoner in all technicalities after all. So instead she would need to ask, but somehow not make it seem like herself.

To do so, Maria lied in wait for someone who looked of the more weaker type of will in one of the nearby closests.

So she watched the servants go by, all wearing some kind of variation on black. Some would only be wearing a simple tunic while others would have their entire bodies covered in the gear. If Maria remembered the reason correctly, it was so that the servants would not be outliers before their own masters.

It was after what seemed to be half an hour that she noticed a single girl crossing the halls. She looked pretty young, maybe only a few years older than herself. The perfect target for her impression.

[Royal Demeanor Passes] [Expression Failed]

“Halt little one!”

“Huh, what! G-Ghost!?” the girl suddenly started looking around.

Maria slightly cursed herself on not being the best at mimicry, but she needed to continue trying to continue trying.

[History Failed] [Conversation Succeed]

”Yes I am ghost of Tombak! Morse died in battle!”

“W-what do you want!?” The Servant girl seemed to ddesire flight, but the sheer power of Maria’s voice seemed to hold her in such a fine grip.

“Where is Wine Cellar!”

“Down this hall and down the staircase! Follow the right wall and you’ll find it!” She more or less squirmed.

With the interrogation done, Maria picked up a modestly sized rock and tossed it at the girl in an attempt to partly incapacitate her. Just so that she didn’t go screaming about a ghost for the next few hours.

[Weapons Check Failed]

The stone missed, rather spectacularly. Causing the girl to almost jump. With nothing else to do, Maria did the next best thing.

“Run.”

And like that the Maidservant ran as fast as her legs could carry her down the hallway. She will likely cause problems later, but atleast right now no one will be between Maria and the wine.

Within the next few moments Maria ran softly towards the cellars, feeling quite a drag on her body. She never moved this much in her life, maybe sans the event of her killing the Miaph. She needs to strengthen her body, maybe jog on the rooftops later on.

Soon she arrived in the cellar, and the thousands of bottles filling her view. There were even barrels of the stuff, too large for her to carry at all.

The question became though, what to grab?

>The bottle where dust seemed to have collected on top of it.
>A bottle of foreign imports from a kingdom recently gone.
>A very exquisite looking sweet wine from the far east.
>All of them.
>Taste each to see which tastes the best.

Without much else to go on, Maria reached over and grabbed the oldest looking bottle on the shelf. As she slowly dragged the bottle out, she seemed to have knocked off at least two inches of dust, if not even more. A question on whether everyone just forgot about the bottle reached her mind, but Maria was on a mission and no one here would answer it without imprisoning her.

As Maria had the bottle of what looks to be crimson in hand, she could not help but hear somethings from the hallway.

“A ghost? You sure about that?”

“I’m sure it was a ghost! It was threw a rock at me for God’s sake.”

Maria sinked herself into the shadows, the bottle now tucked neatly into her arms.

“Alright, so you said it wanted to go into the cellar?” one of the gardeners that Maria say before walked into the cellar along with the maid she had terrified.

“Yes, it sounded like a Morse!”

“But I’ve never heard of a Morse named Tombak in my life. Honestly, it sounds like it came from the Low Countries.” the man looked over the room, “Alright, I just want to take a look around first. Just to make sure this is really a ghost and not some Servant trying to get the Miaph’s goods.”

And so the man immersed himself into the shadows in search of Maria, the culprit he didn’t know he had.

Slowly but surely Maria slowly sleeked into the shadows, trying her best to keep still. He was on the other side of the room, but on the other hand the maid servant she scared shitless was standing at the door.

In the meantime our eleven year old princess grabbed onto a small pebble that was laying on the ground.

She took in a breath as the man changed to look her direction, slowly he moved to see everything. She needed to stay calm and collected, enough that he would narrowly overlook her.

[Royal Demeanor Check Passed]

THe moment he started to look away Maria saw her chance, and with a small pebble in hand tossed it at the nearby barrels. It was a bit of a baited breath just to see if it would distract him.

[Weapons Check Success]

“What the fuck?”

A small clank came from the other side of the room, and a moment later the maid servant gave a short scream of fright. Maybe it was human curiosity, but the girl quickly abandoned her post in favor of looking towards the spot where the stone was thrown.

[Agility Test Passed]

Maria did not stick around much longer as she more or less rolled out of the room, none of the servants noticing her speedy retreat.

Quickly but surely she was up the walls and over the roof, placing herself in the same room she was forcibly locked in. The night sky was her cover, so she was quite sure no one saw her arrive.

“I’m done, I got it.” She announced while looking over the bottle of red wine. A small smile forming on her face for a job well done. Though now, she needed to prepare for an assassination didn’t she?

>>
>>4245096
Would be good if it didn't put us at risk of getting bit. Also the fact the disease doesn't last very well outside the body.

We'd be better off extracting cyanide from apple seeds.
>>
>>4244745
>Obtain a weapon from the nearby garrison *Weapons*
>>
>>4245150
Also that could be hard because we'd have to extract from like 25 apples or something like that. You could use apricot seeds I think but i dunno the amount. Like 15 or 10?. The easy way would be just crushing the seeds, mixing with pure alcohol and distilling/ filtering the crystals out. We don't have amazing chemistry tools so itd suck in purity. He'd have to have a lot.

We're could try gunpowder but that takes a while if we don't have bat droppings.

Either that or making phosphorous out of piss, but you need gallons upon gallons. Basically you boil an oil out and distill. Then you boil more to get crystals that come in two layers. The top layer mixed with the oil results in phosphorous. You want it under oil because air exposure = incindinary explosion and would be disastrous. But it tends to glow in the dark a little. Collecting the urine from multiple sources would be required.

Finally there's thermite, rust + aluminum. Burns super hot. Rust is easy to find. Aluminum not so much. Neither is magnesium.

That's all my old high school chemistry shenanigans. Except maybe stink bombs and a few other things.

We might even end up as Maria the Impaler, at this rate.

>>4245218
QM said gunpowder doesn't work in this world, so that's one thing off the table. The other options sound all require a chunk of resources and tools we can't reasonably have access to. I'm thinking the chemistry options, while comical, are pretty firmly closed to us.

heavy metals. Literally any metal when consumed is potentially very toxic at the right concentration(which isn't actually that much because the human body sucks ass at detoxing most metals just look at lead for an example). You can even use gold to poison someone to death through ingesting. If we wanna poison the bastard to death metal dust in his food/drink will kill him real quick and is uncurable with such low tech level. As they won't be able to just filter it out and depending on the metal used to poison the symptoms are REALLY obscure.

Best of all any metal in question will work even iron. Though I would suggest gold or silver preferably based on whatever utensils he is using. If he eats and drinks with silverware/cups use silver dust ect. They won't be able to notice shit and it only kills after a buildup. Meaning his poison tester is going to do jackshit as by the time they realize something is wrong they already dead men. It can't be traced because it's going to be the same kind of metal he is using so lol.

Literally just ask what kind of silverware and cups he uses. Find out the metal and then use the metal dust of that type to mix in with his food and drink. By the time anyone realizes something is wrong he's already beyond treatment. Best of luck trying to 'find' the poison in question. hahahah. Everyone from the modern day knows damn well how dangerous digesting metals are and considering we are in a fucking palace it's going to be extremely easy to find and slip into his utensils.
>>
>>4245472
OH, I forgot to mention it also can't be tasted/identified because its the exact same material as whatever utensils he will be using. Just dust them before use, dust his food, and drink. It will be traceless in the truest sense of the word with that kind of tech level and it is incurable because they don't have the tech to filter it out. That's assuming they can even figure out what is is we poisoned him with to begin with. By the time the symptoms finally appear he is a deadman.

>>4241529
I legit pity the protag. Plus whoever ends up marrying her. The poor husbando is going to be scared shitless of his wife and nobody is gonna blame him or offer to help. By the end of this, she will have slain 2 kings and she is barely gonna be 12.

>>
>>4245472
this is a good idea, though it would take a while. maybe if we can mix some vinegar (or any weak acid) with bleach (or anything with sodium hypochlorite in it) we can gas him, these fuckers wont know what hit them, they dont even know what gas is.
>>
>>4245503
We just need a few coins, a knife to shave some off, and stone mortar/pestle to grind the shavings down. A hammer will also work to break the coins up but a small knife is far less obvious. None of which is at all suspicious and is very common to own.
>>
>>4245503
just use sand paper and a small ingot of metal
>>
>>4245532
I'm not sure if they have sandpaper back then to be honest. A coarse stone would also work though. Better stick with coins though. Back then they couldn't get away with diluting the concentration of precious metals back then for coinage so its the easiest and least suspicious way.

A stone mortar and pestle is not at all suspicious and very common to own? For a child political prisoner? That comes as a surprise to me.
We are cultivating the maids and guards as agents, so we should be able to get away with it, but it's still a point I'd want to keep in mind.

>>4245540
Does this mean we're going to get the chance to become this world's very first vampire somewhere down the line? Because that would be pretty sweet.
>>
vinegar shoul be easy to get, the problem is sodium hypochlorite. we could produce sodium hypochlorite through electolysis of brine, which is just water with lots of salt, the problem is the electricety, though we could just use a lemon or potato batteri

>>
>>4245578

>>4245580
no, pope doesn't genocide hard enough
>>
>>4245580
The pope is the easy part; IIRC, during the real Vlad's life multiple successive popes were calling for crusades against the Ottomans from everyone in Europe, since after taking Constantinople Mehmed II crowned himself Caesar of Rome and was (it seemed) starting to make designs on Italy. Unfortunately for the popes, the only ones who answered the call were rulers who already bordered (or almost bordered) the Turks. I.e. Hungary, Albania, Wallachia, and Moldavia. They had enough military power only to defend themselves, not really strike back. The big European states were all tired of crusades by the 1400's, and had their own concerns to contend with.
Fortunately for Italy, Mehmed II's successors weren't as all-consumingly aggressive as he was, and focused their attentions on the Balkans, not Rome. The Crusade against the Turks never materialized, though, and Constantinople is still with them today.
Now, maybe I'm overstepping the parallels here. There being no gunpowder, and this being a fantasy world, I'm assuming there'll be a decent number of other changes; it could well be we've still got quite a while to go before the Renaissance, or the Miaphate is significantly weaker than the Turkish Caliphate, or the bonds between Pope and Emperor are far closer in this world than our own history, or a variety of other possibilities. I'll be eager to see what you do with the situation, in any case.

The next few months Maria has been working towards bringing the Servants and staff to her cause. With their Master away, she realized they were much less tense, and much more sociable in the nights.

First Maria started with the ones who would bring her food, practicing her language with them. The girl, who Maria learned was named Asfa, was more than happy to talk about the ghost sighting earlier that week. Maria learned just about everything about the Servants.

First thing Maria found surprising was the madam who always lectured her was actually the head honcho of the entire palace. Alezzma, the hag, served the previous three Miaphs from the time she was brought in at 14. Such years have given her rather Orthodox views of everything, which made her the most loyal follower to the Miaphate.

Maria could only click her tongue at that. Such a wicked old hag loved to use her ruler, not just on Maria herself but all the staff.

Anyways, she had extended her reach to include a group of five in total. Each seemed malcontent on the happenings and would give anything to change those who staffed the place. Why, they didn’t even bother asking why Maria wanted some tomes on Medicine they were close.

However in her time of studying and socializing, the MIaph returned. The little girl did not have anything to kill him with, but she was already scheming on the ways of assassination.

However, there was a rather chipper Morse, “So were you able to get the bottle kid?”

“It was a little hard, but here.” She handed over the red liquor with a smile, “You should watch out, there is a Morse Ghost named Tombak who will steal your wine if you're not careful.”

“Is that so?” The man said with a smile while pouring Maria a glass, “Well here’s to a fallen brother, Tombak.”

Maria gingerly took the glass from his hands, sipping a small bit of it for herself. It was dry, extremely so. Best she could describe it was a Vodka with a slight berry taste.

“Hehe, bitter stuff ain’t it?” he laughed while taking a seat for himself, “To your future kid, whatever you do with it.”

The Morse man easily finished the bottle himself, Maria simply nursing it so that she would not become drunk. Her future was already filled with the need for scheming, so she would need all the luck she can get.

“So you want me to just sprinkle this on the Miaph’s dish?” A girl by the name of Kur asked Maria.

“Yup, do this for me and I will make sure the Hag is punished for her crimes.” Maria happily said while handing off a salt shaker.

The salt shaker was more or less a mix of spices and actual salt that Maria was able to put together. Such a large amount of spices however were meant to cover the weapon Maria placed within it.

A small amount of gold, chipped of a Miaphite Coin.

It would take a while, but at the very least she knew his death was going to come near. A month, maybe two? She will be reaching her Thirteenth birthday by the start of the next season and she really did not want to miss her Family’ celebration.

It was in the end of Fall, just days before her birthday and the start of the new year that the Miaph finally died. Apparently there were such things as Clerics, but no matter how much they tried to heal the man he continued to die.

She heard that they were about to cleanse his body of impurities, but death by Heavy Metal was something that went with his body completely failing. Apparently the Clerics were too late due to the Valrian Guard accidently getting too drunk and standing in their way.

As for Maria, she could already tell most of what happened from her window. The entire city was in pandemonium thanks to her actions and it would only be a matter of time before Soloman.

[Intrigue Test Passed]

Though she didn’t need to stay with him now. On her bed laid a Servant’s cloak, the kind that covered one’s entire face. While she never got the accent done perfectly, she had become fluent in the Miaphate’s language.

A small smile appeared on Maria’s face as she took out a small piece of paper. The way on how events have formed would likely have been to her benefit. With a paper and pen in hand, she decided to at least keep this avenue open for later.

Hello Soloman the Hopeful,

I have taken care of two fellows of yours, and your people have taken two myself. I know you might not have liked them very much, but in this aspect we are even.

So I ask of you, please make yourself worthy to be my wife in our time apart!

Don't forget me.
We'll meet again one day.
Perhaps you shall be worthy of my hand then.
See you later Aligator!

XXX

She looked upon the not in satisfaction, soon knocking on the doors that at one point locked her away.

“Ready to go?” Gunnar asked with a slight smile.

“Indeed, things have finally gotten exciting around here!” He laughed while checking out his axe, “A favor for a favor, though I honestly gotta say this is more of an adventure in the making.”

“I guess so, I will admit though that I did not really expect an adventure.” She handed the man the letter with a smile, “Can we give this to someone to give Soloman?”

The large man accepted the item with a smile, “Yup, I can do this. I’ll just drop it off on our way out.”

“Perfect!” She announced almost chipperly before blushing, “Just make sure it gets to him. If someone were to find it they would surely use it against him.”

“Don’t worry much lass, considering you are a killer of Kings I would assume you’ll just kill me.” He laughed as we began to leave the premises.

Soon enough they made their way through the castle, Gunnar placing the note in the hands of Vidar before gathering a group of five men with him. The six total folk were loaded upon horses, riding out right through the city who was already becoming chaotic from the death of their reigning monarch.

They had ridden through a full night and day, the horses all panting from exhaughstion. The sound of a crackling fire as everyone was resting from the ride. The forest and hills were all over the place, the group of Morse and a MaKain feeling the day’s ride on their asses.

“So how’s it feeling to be free young one?” Gunnar asked with a smile upon his face.

Maria looked about herself for a moment, the rush of fleeing was so great she never realised that she had escaped. Though as she thought about it, was it that she was a prisoner or was the MIaph her’s?

The matter of a Kingslayer is complexe as you see.

how widely known is it that we killed two miaphs?
>>
>>4246558
The first is well known because nobody can hide that and everybody in their court knew. As for the second time...they know he was poisoned. They need a fall guy. There was an entire group of people who knew about us and what we were planning. The thing is we are getting let go but they need to stay. Meaning none of them can afford to take the fall. So who better than someone who is gonna leave anyway? More importantly, someone who is ALREADY known as a kingslayer who even killed their previous king as well?

Also there is not a chance in hell we can keep those guards' mouths shut. They are incredibly impressed and proud of us. Even going so far as to admit none of them can afford to betray us because they know there is no escaping someone who killed kings twice on THEIR watch no less. Which is a very reasonable assumption on their part. They are going to brag their asses off about us no matter what. So I highly doubt we can keep quiet about the killing two kings. Plus their career back home is so turbo fucked. Losing twice against a little girl? No wonder some of them wanted to bow out and change allegiances. So who better than that little girl who has one hell of a future? To them it's a no brainer. At least with us despite being traitors they are confident in that we will trust them because they're convinced they can't get away with messing with us. Ergo a loophole in terms of promotion.

Church will label us as a heretic
Commonfolk would sing us praises as the goddess incarnate
Nobles will probably try to get our hands to bolster their military+intimidation factor or for expansion/invasion
Our family is probably scared or proud. Dad would be sigh so loud that his exploits are now either on par or greater than he did years ago.....at the age of 10 no less.

>Dad I'm home
>Oh my daughter, how are the years treating you?
>Nothing special, killed another king maybe chased by numerous suitors and some swearing allegiance on me.

>Church will label us as a heretic

These all seem like things that would only happen within the miaphate or other lands that share its religion.
We're headed back to fantasy world Christendom, so I doubt any of those will be much in our future, though I'm sure we can win some praises from the Church for blows struck against the infidels.

If she is I feel so sorry for her. The villainess is literally nightmare mode to face. I mean how can you turn it around on someone who not only took out major threats twice but is so hard to deal with that nobody in power wants to touch her because they desperately don't wanna be next? Even the King of our homeland isn't gonna wanna mess with us.

>>4246605
The church is going to LOVE us. We just killed infidels holiest figure TWICE in a row. They are going to be our biggest fans(at least the crusader variety anyway). I wouldn't be surprised if a faction of them pushes to make us a saint. As the Miaph's religion...yeah they are going to hate our guts beyond belief. We just pissed all over them and then shit on them for good measure.

I don't know about the Miaphate's commonfolk considering the level of infighting within their royal family but those who belong to their enemies will love us beyond belief. We just absolutely kicked their shit in twice as a little girl. The second time while being held hostage by them no less. We will be a living legend among them.

Most young male nobles and royals are going to be scared shitless of us. Mostly because their families will be desperately pushing to get them engaged with us. Considering what we can do...they really won't be happy to be the sacrifice for it. The ones to watch out for is going to be female nobles/royals and the few males with fear boners. The other girls are going to hate us for how impressive we are in comparison and how vastly inferior we make them look. Yet they will also be deeply terrified of our capabilities. Being a bitch is all good when you don't literally have to fear a dagger in the dark or dropping dead from poison. A few of them are bound to try to befriend us because of the old saying if you can't beat them then join them. This will likely become quite literal when dealing with noble women. The real troublesome part isn't going to be the older nobles desperately trying to engage us in their family but the young ones with fear boners. They aren't going to be easy to deal with.

As for our family, they are actually going to be put into a very awkward position. As we literally killed two enemy kings in exchange for our two brothers who died. Not even our father or brother was able to avenge them. We still have one surviving brother who is going to be a very awkward position as the heir thanks to us. As he isn't nearly as impressive and will be forced to rely upon his scary ass sister. At the same time if anyone tries to touch him...consider what we did when we lost our other two brothers? It a death sentence even if you are a literal king. The problem is that this puts them under a ton of pressure due to us being a woman. If we had been a man they would be weeping tears of happiness for what awaits. While Every powerful noble family and royals near and far will be desperately fighting tooth and nail for our hand.
>>
>>4246691
It's an otome. The turn around would be in dating, love, and solving oddly esoteric emotional traumas simplified into digestible tropes.

We could be the deadliest assassin, but against the protagonist, our attacks would likely be foiled by circumstances or result in our death when someone defends her.
>>
>>4246711
If the protag actually has such strong plot armor when we try to kill her that would be hilarious. She killed two kings and yet can't kill a single girl. The turn around could also be very interesting depending on how it plays out. I can see the MC being in trouble if she can't just murder or threaten her way out of it(like any good villainess). I can definitely see the protag being more popular among men. Probably due to being far less likely to murder them in their sleep. Understandable that.

Come to think of it we are playing an incredibly straight villainess. We even have the whole wildly popular among the masses but is actually an evil bitch trope nailed down. Even got the whole corrupt court(cause they don't wanna die) and untouchable status angle down too. Wow. What an amazing villainess even if I do pity the heroine for dealing with hell difficulty mode. I actually do hope the otome has plot armor. That would make things so much more interesting.
>>
>>4246751
Someone once said that the best villains are basically the hero, but mirrored. The female protagonist is very likely going to have personality traits that are similar to our Daughter of the Dragon, Slayer of Two Kings, but geared in a way that doesn't terrify or intimidate the general folks.

“It feels like I need to make sure that never happens again.” Maria answered with a determination burning in her heart.

“Alright, in that case how about we train you a little.” He laughed while handing her an axe.

“Y-you sure you should be handing me this?”

“Not like you can kill us with other things.”

To that, Maria simply shrugged before getting up from her spot on the ground. There was a simple area next to them clear of debris. It was not Gunnar taking up the opposing axe, but instead a small man who was more Maria’s size.

The man made sure to train Maria well for the coming few days. Vandal, as was his name, seemed to be edging on barbarity instead of a more civilized form when Maria last learned. The axe did not give anything to the ability to parry, instead Maria was given a sword to supplement her guard.

Four nights, that is how long it took for them to travel. Each time they practiced Maria would become just that much better. She might be a novice against those who trained for a better part of their lives, but no peasant stood a chance against her blade or axe.

It was when the day was turning towards the fifth night that they arrived at the Castle that was Maria’s childhood home. Nostalgia hit her, as the last time she was here Maria had only been ten years of age. Now, she became thirteen just today.

“Halt, who goes there!” announced a guard stationed on the wall.

“I am Maria Louisa Regnia!” She announced at the top of her lungs, “I have come home!”
>>
“It has been so long Maria!” her father cried while holding her in a tight embrace, “I can’t believe you escaped on your own!”

“Papa…”

The two soon broke away, the older man obviously weakened by age and worry. Once pronounced muscles have wained somewhat, hair changing from a purple to a grey.

“How have things been here Papa, it has been so long since we last saw one another. Where is my brother?”

“Things have been good here, as the Miaphate were beaten back we have received great prestige.” He answered with a smile, “As for your brother, I sent him to the Holy Academy in your stead.”

“Is that so…” Maria thought about it, but she never thought the villaness’s brother was in the academy.

“Though honestly we have been trying our best to get you back, my dear daughter. Father Minart has been trying to convince His Holiness to rescue you for your deeds in our battle.” He rubbed her head with a solemn smile, “His Holiness would surely want to meet you now.”

“Really, that sounds great!” the subtle smile of Maria growing due the value of such a man.

“Indeed it is.” he gave another small laugh before patting her back, “Now there was going to be feast in your honor, my dear, so why don’t you come to join us for your Birthday?”

“I will father!”

The ride towards the ancient lands of Remu was something Maria never really thought about. In her old memories of modern day, she never really explored the world much before death. Now though, as she looked outside the carriage window she never saw anything so beautiful.

“Enjoying the scenery, Maria?” Her father asked with a faint smile resting on his face.

“Yup,” She announced with a flutter, “I have never seen so much green!”

“I heard that these lands were blessed by God himself to prosper. Such blessings however only stay within the single county of Remu, nothing more or less.”

“A blessing, huh.”
>>
They soon arrived in front of a massive palace. There were a couple of buildings littered throughout the area, but they seemed to only accent the majesty of the most holy of buildings. Why Maria could feel her heart shake slightly from just stepping upon sacred soils.

Looking back, Maria could see her father shakily step upon the lands. She didn’t realize it at first, but the man had sustained a number of injuries should have killed him in that battle. In all likelihood, he would have perished in the battle along with her two brothers if Maria did not save them from the flanking maneuver.

That thought however was cut short as a cleric approached. Maria quickly found him odd, as instead of being outfitted with light clothing he was instead wearing heavy armor. Upon his chest, the symbol of the blazing sun.

“You have come to see Pope Ferus the Fourth, correct?” The armored man inquired with a raised brow.

“Uh, indeed. That is why we are here Father. I am Rado Regnia of MaKain, and this here is my daughter Maria Louisa Regnia.”

The man looked over the two of them once more, before giving a nod, “You are welcomed inside, as neither of you carry malice.”

Rado the Dragon grew a slight frown as they walked behind the man. In their honesty, neither of them were very much on the religious side of things. So here they were about to meet the Pope himself was something of a drastic change of things.

They were led through the palace, seeing great structures of marble and gold. It did not take them much longer to find themselves guided to a room that was elegant of one could infer. There were three people in the room, the two in complete heavy armor while the other was wearing exquisite white robes.

“Ah, you have arrived. Please correct me if I am wrong, but your names would be Rado and Maria Regnia of MaKain.” The exquisitely dressed old man asked, “Please, have a seat.”

They did as they were told, Maria doubly so. Looking at the man she could feel something very similar to the Miaphs she faced, but it was not an exact match.

“So, I have heard the Miaphs have been plunged into Civil War as two Miaphs were killed. I have heard the killer have been claimed to be things ranging from the wrath of their god to a prisoner.” He said with a small smile, “You have done the deed, I can already feel it from yourself.”

“You can... feel it?” Maria shakily asked the old man.

“Indeed, the disdain of their Gods rests upon your shoulders.” The holy man leaned forwards as if to get a better look, “You will have a troubled life from here onwards.”

Maria could not help but frown at that, as if being a villainess wasn’t the worst thing to happen. She had been targeted by some gods for killing his incompetent rulers.

“I will however, pray for your safety from the Pegan Gods.”

And with those words, Maria felt somehow at ease.

“Is that so…” Maria mauled over the words he spoke, “What about Faith? I guess I, uh, lost my education in it a while ago.”

“Oh? I guess being in the lands of the Infidels would do that to someone.” The man gave a small laugh, “You have experienced the blessings the Miaph gains from their Gods correct?”

“I-I did. What about it?”

“Then you must first realize that faith does not give someone the abilities to far exceed the ability of mankind. That is something cynical fools believe in, which to what deity they serve I do not know.”

He gave a slight sigh with a smile, “Our Lord, in his grace, gives us power to achieve simple tasks. Let it be of the Oracles who see into the future or the men who manage to heal the sick. All require our Lord to divert power in the ever ending struggle of Gods and Demons.”

“Are you saying they all fight one another?”

“Indeed. All the Gods, no matter how they develop, are tied in some way to the rulers. Some grant power directly through the choosing of their Miaph, while others empower the Clergy who in turn grants the right to rule as Kings.”

Maria of course was confused by the man’s words, cryptic as they were. He simply reached over and rubbed the top of her head, “Simply put, the Gods of this world determine divine right. The land and the peoples that a Ruler has directly influenced his powers to fight off the growing encroachment of those who threaten the Afterlife of Man.”

“So you are saying that because I killed the Miaphs, their Gods see me as a threat to their entire livelihood?”

“Exactly, oh Kingslayer.” The man laughed, “However not all in grim. The Gods, even our Lord, do not have enough power to smite you into oblivion without warning. Also, the Lord himself might already be seeing favorably of you.”

“So, I might receive a blessing?”

“In time, though, here is a gift that will give you to prepare yourself.”

Maria could not help but furrowed her brows at the necklace, “It’s a finger…”

“Of a saint, no less.” he placed it around her neck with a smile, “While I cannot give you the blessings normally bestowed to Kings, this much I will give you. Though for one to kill a divine person twice over, well I wonder how the world itself will react to you.”

“Okay? Thank you then.”

“You are very welcomed, Maria. If you continue the path of rightousness, the Lord himself might bless you with power that I myself am unknown to.”

And with that, Maria and her father left.

>Anything else you guys wanna do before we go to the academy.
Is this long or short-term? If long-term, focus on the studies (particularly mysticism and medicine) that we missed while at the Miaph's court. If short-term, say a personal prayer in one of the chapels of Remu (a rare opportunity) and then get on our way.

>>4247963
It was perfectly sensible.
>>
The months soon rolled by as Maria prepared to head to the Academy. She knew it was going to be a make or break situation when it came to actually ‘succeeding’ in the academy. Maria could only have wished she was able to meet the Princes of the Holy Empire just once before the events of the game started.

In those few months, ever since her visit with the Pope, Maria had focused on Faith and mystic studies. She actually gained quite a good bit of support from her father in these matters, as maybe in his old age the man became that much more devout to the Church.

That however had left her to today. It was about four months before she left for the academy, and knowing how risky at time the Duchy they were in was pressed to war Maria wanted to make sure it never happened again.

North of MaKain, through a series of Pagan and Orthodox was an order of Knights. With a small group of guards, Maria arrived in the Tectonic Order of Knights. There was records of a great many Orders, but none have truly stood the test of times than these men. Sure they bent heel to the Holy Austin Emperor, but their size rivaled MaKain itself.

Out front of the Fortress was a massive star like figure, one similar to those used in the Church. The difference here however was that this one was black and much more simplified.

“Halt there!” cried one of the men standing at the Fortress’s gate, “State your name and purpose for being here, or be subject to hostile accords.”

[Royal Demeanor Passed]

“I am Maria Louisa Regnia, Slayer of Kings! I wish to speak to Grand Master Crocus.” She demanded with a fierce and stern voice to the Heavens.

“Y-your the Kingslayer!” the man almost sputtered before shaking himself back into order, “I am sure the Grand Master would love to meet you! I will guide you there.”

“Thank you.”

The fortress was much different from what Maria lived in, both in the Miaphate and home. Built out of the sturdious of stone it stood the test of time for nearly two centuries. While the Miaphate’s city surely lasted longer, the simple fact was this place stood on the border of civilization for the entire time.
>>
Maria was brought through another series of gates, these ones leading to a proper inner fortress. The sounds of activity much more prevalent than the Papacy and similar to what Maria experienced during MaKain’s time of war. She was soon lead into a large room filled with a series of maps, both new and old, finally stopping at a fully armored knight.

“Grand Master!” The man who lead Maria through the entire fortress called out, “The Kingslayer has come to the fortress to meet you!”

“Kingslayer?” the man turned around to look at the group with Maria. His eyes searched the fellows here, soon landing on the girl who was almost to his shoulders in height, “Purple hair and eyes, a feeling of damnation about one’s self. I take it you are Maria the Kingslayer?”

“I am indeed, it is a pleasure to meet you Grand Master Crocus.” She answered with a bow, “I assume all my letters have been reaching you?”

“Indeed, you said something about wanting to talk. We are both here and ready, so what is it you wish to speak about?”

“I was wanting us to form some kind of alliance.” Maria said with a smile.

“An alliance with the Kingslayer, eh? Your territory is next to the Miaphate, correct?”

“Well, it could not really be anything else could it have been.”

“I was just wanting to make sure, you never knew the large amount of Morse who come wondering our direction from the snow filled wastes.” He answered before kneeling over the map once again, “Well I say we can make an alliance, and it would surely be an honor for such a thing, but I require a barony in the region in order to mount troops.”

[Military Success]

“Giving you an already built Barony will cut into our own forces. IF something were to happen we would be at a disadvantage when it comes to fighting off the Miaphate if they ever come bitting back.”

“Very reasonable, in that case how about we organize one to be built.”

[Economics Partial Success]

“Hmm, It will be hard to organize some people but it could be done…”

>Disagree

This kinda reminds me of how the Teutonic knights had holdings in Transylvania in real life. I like it.

“Alright, we will organize the construction of a fortress in MaKain.” Maria answered the Grand Master.

“Perfect! Maybe with this we might have a chance of going towards the Holy Lands once more.” He announced with a cynical laugh.

“We’ll see.” Maria answered with a smile.

And with that done she made her way out of the Fortress, her remaining months more or less devoted to that of Faith and Medicine.

Maria’s deeds of regicide have become simple rumors in the Holy Austin Kingdom. People have not gained enough information to make an assessment of her, though her closeness to the Clergy has raised some eyebrows.

In the Miaphate, Soloman wages his claimant war with an iron fist. He had received Maria’s note, and quickly realized that she was as dangerous as he thought. However, a wife like her that truly loved him was something Soloman was deciding if he should move the sun and moon for.

Within the Austin Empire, a Prince sits upon a makeshift throne hearing rumors of a Kingslayer entering the academy in the same year he is. He sadly does not know if he should celebrate that fact, or fear that.

And lastly, a girl by the name of Chloe had her mother come down with a feverous fever.

The days of the academy are now upon us.

Alright fellows, tomorrow I will start the main quest. Be sure to look out for it!

I like this dynamic building up here. I do have to wonder if Maria's bluntness/lack of expression is going to be Chloe's strength.
>>4249251
Cheers, see you tomorrow.

This is getting good. I can't wait to see what kind of people try to befriend the alleged Kingslayer.

Thanks for writing.

I wonder what other crazy shit Maria will get to do during her time in the academy.

Thanks for running, this quests been pretty fun.

We need to secure a small plot of land. 3x5 sq. ft. is fine. Then we start growing crops. And no one will bat an eye.
