You are Shinji Matou, two years ago you suddenly found yourself with the memories of a complete past life that saw this world as a fictional story due to some unprecedented form of inter-dimensional transportation. Since that day, your new composite being has been working to change the grim future laid out for you.

To that end, you have focused on improving yourself as well as your relationship with your adoptive sister, Sakura, all while hiding the truth from your father, Byakuya, and your ancestor, Zouken. Should either of them find out the truth about you, then dying would be the least of your worries.

Just recently, you have met Shirou Emiya, the main character of the original Visual Novel that led to the Nasuverse exploding in popularity. You managed to end up getting into a fight with some bullies after he stubbornly refused to back down against a situation that would only have ended up in him getting hurt. It's clear that you have a long journey ahead of you.

What's the harm in introducing yourself to Shirou, anyway? It's not like he'll ever betray somebody. "I'm Shinji Matou, I feel like we ought to be friends, Emiya-san." The gold eyed boy looks like he's thinking about something as you suggest being friends, before eventually he gives you a smile. Did he have second thoughts about being the friend of somebody who could attack somebody without any hesitation? Does he even understand that the other boy was going to attack him?

"Alright then, Matou-san. I hope we get along well. But umm... We don't go to the same school, do we? I... don't actually normally walk to school this way. In fact, I don't really know why I came this way...

"Then why don't we meet each other again at this park after school, Emiya-san? I'm sure we could be friends, even if we don't go to the same school." It's not an ideal suggestion, but you don't exactly know the boy well enough to actually ask him where he lives in order to show up to his house. Well, that's not true at all. You probably know the boy better than he knows himself as of right now, and you also know where he lives. But he doesn't know you well enough that suddenly appearing at his house and asking to play wouldn't look... weird. Kiritsugu might be dying, but you aren't about to act suspicious around a man who practically lived his life being wary of others, and having a Matou suddenly show up to his house for very little reason is really just tempting fate in a way you don't want to risk. Though you suppose now is as good a time as any for Sakura to meet Shirou too. "Oi! Sakura! What are you waiting over there for?" Honestly, you have no idea why the girl has just stood gawking at you.

"O-oh! Coming, Onii-chan!" Sakura seems to have been jolted out of some sort of trance as you call her over to you. Seems like she was pretty focused on watching your performance against the bullies, to the point where she was somehow so engrossed in your actions she simply observed even long after the conflict had reached it's end. You're a little concerned by her reaction to watching you beat up those bullies, actually. You might've managed to make her a little too attached to you.

She quickly runs up to you and Shirou, greeting the slightly older boy politely, but otherwise showing no other interest in him. Her eyes fixate only on you throughout the entire conversation. Oh. You've definitely changed something here. Of course you weren't expecting Sakura to just immediately fall in love with Shirou, and a part of you is actually hoping she doesn't end up falling with him to save her the heartbreak when Shirou ends up falling in love with Saber. But to see her almost completely ignore the boy? It feels almost unreal! For the two who had such a touching romance to not even care about the other!

Even Shirou seems far more interested in talking to you than he does talking with Sakura too! Conversing with you for a while about the meaningless things children talk about until eventually, you are reminded by the time when a fourth voice joins into the conversation. "Shirou-kun! There you are! Why did you run away like that? Now we're both going to be late! Kiritsugu is going to be upset, you know." The Tiger of Fuyuki, Taiga Fujimura, bursts onto the scene! The teenager is dressed in a Homurahara school uniform and would be about sixteen years old or so right now, if your memory serves. She's scolding Shirou pretty badly though, looks like he ran off to try and resolve some injustice going on. What, did his superhero sense kick in or something? It's amazing, you've actually read exactly how Shirou thinks, and the inner workings of his mind are still a complete mystery! How on earth does he even do it?

Taiga squints at you and Sakura, the two of you awkwardly shuffling about as you try to back away from the older woman. You can't win against this woman, she's simply too much. The only option for you is to retreat! "Hey! You two kids! You better not try skipping school again, and you'd especially not try to drag my Shirou into it!" The teenager gives you a stern warning, her serious side shining through a moment. This woman does end up becoming a teacher, after all.

"A-ah. Please, accept my apologies, I was just helping Emiya-san to scare away some bullies!" You tell the woman the complete truth as you make your escape from the playground and head to school. Thankfully, Taiga instead chooses to question Shirou and his own actions than focus any further on you. Allowing you to take Sakura by the hand and make a swift getaway.

Hours later, you find yourself sitting at your desk, having already completely every piece of work set out for you to do and absentmindedly scribbling on a piece of paper. Thinking of what you ought to do next, you begin to start thinking about potential plans and things to get up to before your deadline of the Fifth Holy Grail War. Of course, you're much too young to actually leave the country, at least by yourself. Waver could probably hypnotize anyone asking questions and allow for your escape. But what would you even get up to if you left the country? Try to contact the Einzbern? Try to join the Clock Tower? Simply have Waver tutor you? At such a young age, your options are really quite limited.
>>
Then you remember that you might not even need to leave the country at all. Misaki Town is only ever a train ride away, and while you haven't actually found out what sort of timeline you are in right now, there's almost a guarantee that something interesting is happening in Misaki Town. In fact, if your calculations are correct, about this time should be when Shiki Tohno would have his 'accident' and would end up meeting Aoko Aozaki, the Fifth. If there was an ally that you could possibly want on your side, it would be Aoko. Well, Aoko or Arcueid, but somehow you doubt that convincing Arcueid to come help you out in beating up an Ancient Sumerian asshole is going to be easy. That is if she even exists. Timeline rules really started getting flimsy as the series went along. As of Requiem, you're pretty sure that pretty much anything goes, too.

Of course, you suppose you could always work on meeting Rin, you're going to have to get to know her at some point. You don't know how Sakura might take you going to go and see Rin privately would go down though, so maybe that's not the best idea...

Then of course, you could just work on getting to know Shirou better. You feel like you could be really great friends with the future hero of justice. All you need to do is make sure he doesn't ever get himself into too much trouble.

>See about leaving the country with Waver for a while (Destination?)
>Visit Misaki Town, the chance to meet Aoko is just too big to miss out on!

Ask if Waver wants to come. It's less suspicious if we have an older guardian with us.

Well fuck, I was thinking of getting Monica to check up on hospital records to see if Shiki had his accident yet, but if we did the calculations, guess this wouldn't hurt

>Visit Misaki Town, the chance to meet Aoko is just too big to miss out on!
Hopefully our Rosie Cheek lookin ass will draw Aoko out so we won't have to be looking around too long.
Also hot damn I guess Sakura's affections are ours. It's to be expected, but it's also incredibly dangerous.
>>
>>4329920
It's a good think.
We can't have her getting any more attached than she is now, lest her affections get used against us both.
>>
>>4329870
>>Continue as you normally would and attempt to befriend Shirou and by extension, Taiga, before focusing on any of these grander plans.
Just this once, forgo power, acquire Taiga.
>>
Honestly, even if we manage to convince Doctor Who to take us along for the ride, I think we should hold off for a little while and just keep her as a contact same as Waver and Monica. Kerry dies in 3 years, Shirou needs to start learning magic now so he isn't a total burden to Saber and we need to meet with Rin now so if worst case scenario happens, she takes over Shirou's training. Better to cultivate the abilities and relationships of allies that we know will take part in the HGW than try to solve all their problems ourselves
>>
>>4329951
Honestly, since we're here I don't want to leave Fuyuki until I absolutely have to. I'm expecting about 3 to 5 years before the grail war happens zouken will catch on.
Maybe sooner with how Sakura is clinging and getting all yandere.
>>
>>4329962
well meeting Aoko is time sensitive (she's wandering the Earth and this is the only location that we're halfway sure she'll be at) and Misaki town is apparently a train ride away. We don't have to completely leave Fuyuki just yet but if we ever want to meet Aoko and take part in Tsukihime, we have to go now and make a good first impression. And I expected Zouken to use Sakura's affection for us in a more demented way than just holding our life over her
>>
>>4329962
Speaking of not leaving Fuyuki, how long until the next Carnival Moment? It happens every 10 years, so would it be 2000?
>>
>>4329870
>Visit Misaki Town, the chance to meet Aoko is just too big to miss out on!
It's really the only option. Although I'd like it to be a brief visit rather than a long-term thing; abandoning Sakura at this point would be just incredibly cruel.
>>4329943
She's in love with Kiritsugu already. Sorry.
>>4329962

>>4329981

Nah, when I say leaving Fuyuki, I mean like apprenticing under Waver or Monica, or going to the Clock Tower. Where we fuck off completely and only return for the Holy Grail War and Tsukihime.
>>
>>4330007
Oh yeah I completely agree with you, I honestly don't want to leave Fuyuki at all but I know we're gonna have to eventually so i'd want to do it until absolutely necessary, there's just way too much to do in Fuyuki
>>
>>4330007
Ah. I definitely agree with you there, then; it seems like it'd be a waste.

Keep her as a contact, same as Waver. Maybe a weird magic thing could be used to be able to do so at a 100% success rate? It might come in handy years later when the 5th HGW begins.
>>

I hope Aoko can help us activate our magic circuits in such a way as to keep them secret from Zouken. That'd definitely be help on par with giving Shiki his mystic eye killers.
>>
>>4330080
If she helps us in any way, it's probably going to be in relation to being an outsider, or our developing Reality Marble.
>>
do you guys wanna be a Dead Apostle? I feel like I can be convinced but idk yet
>>
>>4330090
For me it would depend on how strong our Reality Marble becomes.
All-Fiction should give us immortality, but I'm not sure how it would effect aging.
>>
Real talk people, when do you guys want to go full monologuing madman and spill the isekai shit to the cast of Fate/Stay Night? During the final days? Facing Gilgamesh and Kirei? Caster and EMIYA?

I can just imagine Shinji doing the laughs during that scenario. Despite being Isekai Bro + Shinji together, he's still Shinji in the end, and Isekai Bro knows it. Maybe in-character he'll go "I've been waiting YEARS for this moment! Its only fair I grandstand a little bit, right?" and give in to the Shinji ranting? Not sure how out of character that would be for this quest though. I just want a big crazy absolute madman monologue while WhatIs describes the sheer shock and horror of every character in the vicinity in a way Nasu would approve of.

I personally like the Fates/City method of theme acquisition where we find songs that aren't in the og soundtrack and aren't being used by other media.

Maybe some sort of magical gizmo that hides all the magical energy produced by somebody? That would be super useful, actually.
>>4330112
>Caster
I kinda want to save Caster.
Imagine bringing her along to Tsukihime to shit on everyone with no Magic Resistance. As for the monologue, meh. I'd rather not reveal our Threat to Humanity status to Alaya. We're practically a Foreigner and I'd rather not be GRAND'd
>>4330158
Knowing WhatIs, probably Castlevania music.
>>4330090
We'd need to research a method to become one. Or have Atari Dumbledore drink our blood after putting down Roa to make us a Super Dead Apostle.
But yeah, Arc would try to kill us for going the Apostle route.
Let's just hope our All Fiction works like Kumagawa's to give us immunity to aging.
>>
>>4330899
>Yeah but he dies in three years. Taiga route shall not be locked!
If Aoko wasn't so vital I'd go for hanging out with Taiga.
Sexy Teacher Route would be amazing.
>>
Guys, now that we have functioning Magic Circuits, since we're a Matou by bloodline won't we get the command seals instead of Sakura?

>>4330899
If we got something that could mask Magical Energy that would be seriously nice, we'd be able to experiment with our Magic Circuits freely.

I'd like to Caster too, if she gets summoned again.
If we have Kuzuki mentor us in the snake style, we could introduce them too.

I'm not concerned by having to research how to become a DA, since it took 8 year old Shinji a few days to figure out how to create bounded fields, I'm sure he can figure it out if he has time.
Becoming a target and losing the ability to go out during the day would suck alot though.

I hope our All-Fiction will include the ability Kumagawa had to erase anything, including concepts, that would be so useful.

>>4330916

Buddies, fine, but this justice thing has me worried. We're not an obsessive wannabe hero with a holy sheath in our chest. Let's leave the justice to the guy who builds his whole life around it and just focus on getting our happy end.
For the record, I wouldn't want to take Shiki back to Fuyuki either. Bringing the canon protagonists out of their towns just feels wrong.

No, everyone gets their happy ending, Shirou doesn't die alone in Syria
>>
>>4331132
He doesn't need our help not to, anon. I'd like to know just why you think it's even a risk. The only timeline where that happens is the Archer timeline, so if EMIYA gets summoned he's fine.

>>
>>4331128
Do we not want justice? We may not be as autistically obsessed with the idea as Shirou is, but we want justice for the friends who had bad ends and to bring about good ends for them.
Justice Buddies fits us just fine.

>I wouldn't want to take Shiki back to Fuyuki either.

I'd say it was the guy calling us justice buddies, because aside from the whole Shijou/justice thing I've been having plenty of fun with the quest.
Derailing Tsukihime as well as Waver's life to have a get-together would be a colossal waste of time and effort, though, and I bet Shirou considers anime to be for the insufficiently heroic. Just like alarm clocks.
>>
>>4331170
>Derailing Tsukihime as well as Waver's life to have a get-together would be a colossal waste of time and effort
Get off the canon rails anon. We've already started to blow them apart, there's no reason to stick to them.
Until Waver leaves Fuyuki he's not doing anything important enough that an anime night will disrupt and Tsukihime doesn't actually start until right before the fifth and after the fifth, tsukihime will be over so who gives a shit and Lord El-Melloi II would probably enjoy an anime/game night.
Or are you worried about violently disrupting that good long stretch of years between now and the fifth where nothing happens with an anime night?

>I'd say it was the guy calling us justice buddies
Multiple anons are having fun with the idea and using that name. You are literally the only person sperging about it.

Of course, your best option would be to try finding Aoko in Misaki town. Even if it's a doomed effort brought about by separate timelines, the potential payoff is such that simply looking into things couldn't hurt. Annoyingly, the internet just isn't at a point where you can really look up the information you want, even after you saved up and purchased quite an expensive PC, you haven't really managed to get much use out of it yet, you couldn't even confirm if the Tohno existed!

You suppose it doesn't hurt to have a computer though, at some point, the internet is going to become a vital source of information for you, even if it's currently over two decades out of date compared to what you're used to. A smirk comes to your face as you consider the possibility of recreating some of the most important and popular sites on the internet before they are actually created. You could practically monopolize social media! Those thoughts should really come for later though. Personal wealth will be immensely easy for you to amass anyway, even if all you did was just buy thousands of bitcoins while they were still worthless and sold them at their peak, you could still effortlessly become a billionaire. Hell, you could even exploit the upcoming financial crash to make serious cash too, but that's after the Fifth War anyway and if things have a positive conclusion after that war, then the rest of your life would be completely effortless.

Still, thoughts on how to gain huge amounts of money aren't all that relevant anyway, not unless you can bribe Zouken to death. Well, that's not entirely true... You suppose you could hire quite a powerful hit-squad of elite freelancers to take out the worm if you had enough money. Maybe it would even be possible to find somebody capable of extracting the heart worm from Sakura in a way that doesn't put her life in danger! Though the biggest problem with gaining money is that... well... you're ten years old, and most avenues for actually making money are sealed off to you unless you were to somehow rope Waver into a money making scheme.

You bring your mind back to Misaki Town, and of the possible prospect of meeting Aoko Aozaki and the young Shiki Tohno. Shiki would be a great ally to have on your side, whether he could kill Servants or not. The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are just completely broken, even if Shiki's physical abilities aren't exactly the most consistent. Chalk it up to Nasu making martial arts and 'assassin training' overpowered. Saber would attest to that, you're sure.

I want every character to be happy and be friends because I genuinely care about these characters. Backing up what you’re saying basically
>>
Eventually, you finish the school day, getting perfect marks as usual despite not actually paying any attention to your teacher or the lesson. Your very existence is beginning to make your teacher seethe, especially when you smirk at her upon handing in whatever work it is that needed doing after spending only a few minutes actually filling it out or working on it. Some people just can't stand those more naturally talented than they are, and if there's one thing in Shinji's credit, it's that he was indeed very intelligent when it came to matters not related to magic. That intelligence seems to have interacted really quite strangely with your own and you feel like even if you didn't already know the answers to the vast majority of questions you are asked, actually figuring them out would be a nearly effortless task.

Now that you've decided on heading to Misaki town, you really ought to decide on just how you want to go about heading to the town. Of course, you'll probably end up getting the train, but there's always the chance that you'll get stopped by an adult for trying to travel without supervision, and you might not be able to just talk your way out of it either. But then again, the only adult you can trust to help you out is Waver, well, you suppose you could ask Monica if she could act as your guardian for a couple of days. You do have about two million yen saved up, after all.

Then there's also the question of how long you should actually spend in Misaki Town. You don't really want to leave Sakura alone for too long, but it really might be for the best to give her something of a break from you. You've noticed that she does seem to be getting really attached to you recently, and that's the sort of thing that would allow Zouken to gain an advantage over her mentally. Though Sakura isn't stupid, and neither are you. You've tried to keep your positive relationship less obvious in appearance whenever Zouken might've been watching the two of you. It's really some sort of unspoken thing between the two of you. You're glad that Sakura understands, at least.
>>
Even so, you don't want to leave her alone for too long. If you've truly become the only light in the girl's life, then leaving her in the dark at Zouken's mercy isn't something you really want to do for a very long time. She's counting on you, after all. But it's because she's counting on you that you need to actually do this. If Aoko is truly there, then she can provide you with some true guidance as to what you ought to do. Especially if she's as much of a shotacon as she appears to be, if that truly does turn out to be the case then your well-refined boyish charms will once again serve you incredibly well. If there's one thing that you would like for Aoko to do for you though, it's to give you a way to begin actively practicing magic without the possibility of Zouken finding out what you are up to.

Since your idea assumes Shiki and Arcueid will be together, and they won't be during that "good long stretch of years," we can toss that out first of all.
I have no idea what Lord El-Melloi II would enjoy, but considering he'll presumably be living in England at that point, calling him back to Japan for a dinner and TV night seems more than a little insane. If he's still living in Fuyuki, sure! Do whatever.
As for after the 5th, I really don't care what we do then. It's the end of the VN, so I'd expect it to be the end of this quest. If it isn't, we can waste all the time we want, naturally. After the 5th is the best time for Carnival Phantasm-like shenanigans to happen, after all.

Also, drop the "you just want to ride the canon rails!" crap. It's nonsense. I voted for going to Misaki Town, I was the first person in the last thread to suggest learning from Aoko, and I've been suggesting we make our own story separate from any of the FSN routes. I'm not trying to keep us constrained within canon. But these people have their own lives, live in different countries or parts of the country, and have no actual reason to be friends with each other except for fan sentiments like >>4331190.

>It's the end of the VN, so I'd expect it to be the end of this quest.
Goddamn, the egotistical audacity of this sentence. I bet WhatIs is happy you're here to decide when his quest ends for him.

Even if we don't have Arc yet, we can still invite Shiki over. We're at the perfect opportunity to meet him and try and spark a friendship before tsukihime starts.

>I have no idea what Lord El-Melloi II would enjoy
I can see that. Pic related.
He is so stressed, his sole hobby is video games. To the point he buys them, plays through and then send surveys. Dude would probably embrace a hang out night.

>and have no actual reason to be friends with each other except for fan sentiments
Not in canon because they never met. This is why I keep saying you're riding the canon rails.
But we're here, we can literally connect and introduce all these people and get a friendship going that would have never happened in game. That's part of fun of an isekai quest.

The amount of bad personal qualities you're willing to ascribe to me just because we disagree is staggering. Expecting one team or another to win a baseball game doesn't mean I believe I'm controlling it. Expecting the quest to end when the original story doesn't mean I'm deciding how anything should go. All it means is that I'll be surprised if it turns out differently.

The original story doesn't end there and we've already potentially got Tsukihime involved, which possibly involves Kara no Kyoukai. Assuming we're going to end at the end of FSN is kind of silly.

We'll see. To my knowledge Tsukihime takes place before FSN, so I hadn't really factored that in; unless you were hoping to follow Shiki and Arc on their vampire hunting adventures from the abortive Tsukihime 2 plot. I haven't read the Kara no Kyoukai books, so I'll take your word that they're inextricably tied to the events of Tsukihime and continue on after that game's timeframe.

I would not mind being bros with Dante from Devil May Cry personally
>>

Kara no Kyoukai is before Tsukihime. It's already happened, but still.
There's still the events of Melty Blood however that we could get involved in. We could also get involved in the Lord El-Melloi II Case Files but I think that happens concurrently with Tsukihime so we'd have to pick.

I wouldn't mind vampire hunter adventures with Shiki and Arc though.
>>
>>4331284
Here's an idea. After the War we move to England, join the Clock Tower, and try to start the Matou up again as a less horrible magus family. See how well we can do in the Mages' Association. That'd also give us more of a chance to continue the friendship with Waver we've started now, and keep tabs on Rin and Shirou if they end up in a UBW-esque ending there, without riding anyone else's plot coattails. Thoughts?
Bonus points for merging the Einzbern and Makiri if we've married Illya by this time.
>>
>>4331284
>Taking place 10 years after the events of Fourth Holy Grail War and 2 months before the events of Fate/stay night

Bleh. I'd rather leave her to get into catfights over Shirou with Rin.
Seriously, though, what do you think of joining the Clock Tower after the the fifth HGW? I think it's probably the best life path for Shinji.
>>
Okay so I'm researching the timeline, Tsukihime takes place in mid October until November, FSN begins on January 31st (Though it might begin a little earlier as we're likely to teach Shirou how to be a proper Magus and he'll summon Saber on his own) and Case Files takes place 2 months before the events of FSN. So basically, we go to Misaki town to do our vampire stuff, Case Files to help Waver do his magic crime solving and FSN a little before it begins. This is fucking hard mode guys

I'm interested in what her abilities are. We can also flex our shota charm and circuits on her.
Also, why don't we just take Arc for ourselves? It's not like a Shirou-Saber situation where they complete eachother at all, and All-Fiction ought to be enough to catch Arc's Eye. She's also one of the heroines who are happy to share the protagonist.

If you're going to go to Misaki Town, then you'll definitely need somebody to act as your guardian, if only for the sake of getting there and booking a hotel. Well, and for the fact that Misaki town is a very dangerous place. There's always something magical or dangerous happening in Misaki.

Though that does beg the question, what was Aoko actually doing in Misaki Town at the time anyway? You remember her telling Shiki she had some sort of business she needed to attend to, but you haven't really much of an idea as to what she could've been referring to. Hopefully she wasn't dealing with some dangerous entity that had popped up in the town. You shiver at the thought of somehow managing to run into some sort of Dead Apostle Ancestor just wandering the streets of Misaki.

Well, only Roa should be around anyway, and he should be safely locked in the Tohno basement right now... Hold on, if you do meet Shiki, couldn't you just tell him to go into the basement and stab SHIKI in a death point? No, no. It's incredibly unlikely that the ten year old Shiki would so willingly murder SHIKI on your words alone. Not to mention how much scrutiny you would be under from revealing that knowledge. It pains you that you can't really help the maids at the Tohno mansion as you are right now. You can sympathize with Hisui after living two years in the Matou household, with Sakura undergoing the same sort of terrible mistreatment as Kohaku. Again, assuming that anyone is around at all. This is all basically just built about a hunch anyway. You do remember something about how the Human Order allowing Servants to be summoned and Arcueid being created were somehow fundamentally incompatible. But hey, stranger things have happened than the timeline being some sort of paradoxical impossibility according to the author. After all, you exist here, don't you?

You spend some time wandering around the streets of Fuyuki after school, with Sakura following your every footstep like she's some kind of obedient puppy. She was never like this before, so what could've caused her to have suddenly started acting so bizarrely around you? Whatever, you hope whatever is going on with her right now isn't any indication of what Zouken is doing to her. You know that Sakura has the willpower to last at least ten years under the mental torture of that old worm bastard, but you can't help but think that your actions may have caused some sort of divergence in the timeline, changing the future you are familiar with to something else entirely. Damn butterfly effect. You suppose that changing the future is really going to be an inevitable consequence of well, existing.
>>
You eventually find your target, a phone booth. It's time for you to make a call, you think. You've got somebody that is in her own words quite willing to help you out, you only hope that your savings are enough to lure the freelancer over to Japan. It's not like you're asking her to go hunt some rogue magus or a dead apostle though, so really, you hope she's not planning on charging your thousands of dollars for basically just acting as your guardian for a few days. "Hold on just a moment Sakura. I need to make a call to somebody." You quickly enter the phone-booth before allowing her to ask you any questions on what exactly you're doing.

You keep putting 100 yen coins into the booth until you're satisfied that you aren't about to get cut off mid call with Monica. Sakura looks a bit annoyed that you've ducked into the phone booth and she's forced to wait around outside for you to make your call, especially considering that you haven't actually given her a reason for suddenly needing to make a phone call. You'll have to make one up, you suppose. You can't exactly tell Sakura that you're contacting a magical freelancer to hire for the sole purpose of accompanying you to a nearby town so that you can meet the Fifth True Magician and also confirm whether or not the events of Tsukihime occur in this timeline. Very few people in this universe wouldn't simply write you off as insane for uttering such things, and even they would be a little confused by your terminology.

The phone dials a few times before a familiar voice picks up. "You've reached Monica, do you have an appointment or are you looking to book an appointment?" She's really quite cheerful as she greets the unknown speaker, seems she knows the potential danger that phones represent to the secrecy of magic in general. Also, just introducing yourself as a killer for hire to anybody that calls you would just be careless.

"Hello again Monica, it's me, Shinji. Shinji Matou. You remember me, right?" You answer Monica in perfect English. You don't want there to be any chance for there to be any misunderstandings over the line, and for a genius like yourself, it wouldn't have been impossible to have taught yourself to be fluent in English in two years anyway.

"Oh! Shinji? You can speak English now? You sound almost fluent!" Monica seems happy to hear from you. "But... what are you calling about? You don't actually want me to... get rid of somebody for you, do you?" Seems that she's immediately going to get down to business, even when the person calling her is only a child. You suppose that in the world she lives in, a child wanting to hire somebody like her to get rid of somebody isn't that unusual. Goodness, it occurs to you what a bloodthirsty world the world of magical politics must be, when you think about it.
>>
"No... No, it's nothing like that, Miss Monica. I just wanted to know when the earliest you could get to Japan is, are you free?" There's no sense in continuing the conversation if she's occupied with other missions and contracts, after all.

"I mean, I'm not busy, so I could probably get there by tomorrow if it was urgent, why?" Now that's a relief, looks like you were right to see if Monica was able to help you after all.

"I find myself in need of... a guardian." You hesitate at the end there, it's really quite embarrassing to need somebody to look after you, even if you have almost no need for somebody to look after you at all. Society at large doesn't exactly take into account hyper-intelligent children. Or people with the appearances of children and the minds of adults. You wish you had maids like Sella and Leysritt that you could just have act as your guardians. But alas, such creations like near-perfect homunculi are restricted to the Einzbern family and them alone. Oh, and those Yggdmillennia thieves have somewhat decent skills at creating homunculi in timelines where they are relevant... Which certainly doesn't include this one. That's one thing you're certain of.

"A guardian? Why, is there somebody after your life? Why didn't you say so earlier, Shinji? I've half the mind to give you an even bigger discount than I was intending to!" Why is she planning on giving you a discount anyway? It's not exactly good business practice to give discounts to everyone.

"N-no. Not that kind of guardian, Miss Monica. I need somebody to help me leave my city for a few days... say three, without arousing suspicion. It's quite difficult to move about freely and I'm likely going to be having something of a... disagreement about the future of my family with my father and... grandfather, soon."

"Oh! Say no more, Shinji. I think I understand what you're getting at now. So, you just need me to act as your official guardian for a few days then? Is there any danger involved, do you know?" She quickly corrects herself, probably just a little embarrassed about her assumption.

"There shouldn't be. I'm just planning on meeting somebody in a nearby city who'll be able to help me out, yet it's really a calculated gamble on my part. The person I'm hoping will be able to aid me might not even be there." It's true. Aoko might simply be absent and the Tohno family for all you know might just not exist at all.
>>
"I see, you've sure grown up quite a bit since two years ago, haven't you, Shinji? But it's not like I'm going to denounce you for trying to do something about your family. I probably never would've accepted to work for them two years ago if the contract I was offered wasn't so easy and risk free." Man, the Matou really must have a poor reputation, huh? You suppose that it's really a well earned one. It's not like worm-based magecraft is something anybody with any sense of decency would approve of. Especially Zouken's particular brand of it. Whatever goodwill that the Makiri may once have earned thanks to the prodigal magus Zolgen has now likely been utterly obliterated by the actions of the worm who just won't die Zouken. Honestly, you've half a mind to discard the name Matou and take up the mantle of Makiri for yourself, once you've dealt with your grandfather.

"I don't really have a lot of time to keep talking freely Monica, and we can talk when you arrive, can't we? How much are you planning on charging me, anyway?" As much as you enjoy talking with Monica, you can see that Sakura has now begun to impatiently tap her foot as she waits for you to finish on the phone. Well, at least she's being polite and waiting?

"I was thinking of say... five hundred thousand yen? That ought to cover my running expenses." It seems a little steep, but you suppose that for her it must be incredibly cheap. After all, this woman is likely used to dealing with hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars per contract, depending on the danger.

"Deal. Can you meet me at the park close to my house at... say 7:30AM tomorrow morning?"

"Mein gott... You really are plotting something, aren't you, Shinji?" The woman laughs a little and slips into German as you give her an incredibly tight deadline. "Alright I'll be there. See you soon, Shinji-kun~." She hangs up. Oh man, that -kun sounded a little too affectionate for you to be comfortable with. You hope that Monica is just being friendly.

There's no more reason to stay in the phone booth, so you'll have to go and explain what you were doing to Sakura. Hopefully she'll not pry too deeply into your plans. You decide not to lie to your younger sister though, and turning to her, all you say is "You'll have to keep what I just did as a secret. I'm going to be heading out of the city for three days soon and I'm gonna need you to keep it a secret from grandfather. I can't tell you what I'm up to, but one day I'll be able to. Trust me." Sakura gives you a scrutinizing look, but eventually she acknowledges your sincerity, and gives a small nod. "Thanks, Sakura. Now, lets go see Emiya-kun, shall we?"

You spend about an hour in the park getting to know Shirou a little better and playing on the swings, Taiga is there too, but she keeps complaining about wanting to go and see Kiritsugu, so it's difficult to really connect with her. Especially as you're busy trying to befriend the future hero of justice.
>>
Eventually though, your time with Shirou comes to an end and you go back home. You spend the rest of the day going through your usual workout routine as well as practicing your martial arts strikes on some exercise equipment you had bought for you. You spend almost all of your remaining time in the day improving your body.

The rest of the day passes relatively peacefully, and come the morning, you get dressed, but not for school. Instead opting for a more casual set of clothing for your meeting with Monica. You end up getting out of the house before anyone else is even up and about. Well, Zouken might be, but he keeps to himself thankfully. You also aren't even sure if Zouken actually sleeps.

Sneaking out of the house and with a backed bag full of a few changes of clothes and some other essentials, as well as all of your savings (just in case), you leave the house and head for the park. It's really quiet this early in the morning, and you arrive in the park at about 7AM to find a woman in a dress face down on the park bench, sleeping. Looks like Monica kept her promise, but it also looks like she did so at the expense of her own sleeping. "M-Monica-san?" You call out to the woman on the bench, who begins to shift a little. "A-ah, Monica-san!" You shout this time, and it's enough to wake the woman from her slumber on the park bench.

"Oh! Shinji-kun! You're a little early, aren't you?"

You ignore her question and instead ask your own. "How long have you been asleep on that bench, Monica-san?"

"Oh, this thing? Yeah. Since about the time I arrived in the city. I didn't feel like booking a room for a few hours of sleep at best, so I figured I would just catch some sleep here." She did what...? why!? Couldn't she have just slept on the plane trip over to Japan? Before you can let your complete confusion at the confusing antics of the freelance spellcaster. "Right. Well, Misaki Town, right? Train or car? I can take us either way."

>Go to the station and take the train to Misaki Town.
Or
>Have Monica drive and...

We can say we're a friend of Shiki's, confirm he actually exists and minimise the chance of us meeting him in the hospital itself causing him to never meet Aoko by just dropping a card off first.
>>
>>4331984
>Have Monica drive and...
>Have her stop on the outskirts of the town, Aoko met Shiki in a field outside the town after all.
This is the best choice imo. We'll fuck things up if we somehow meet Shiki as he runs away from the hospital and knocking on his front door is even weirder. If Shiki isn't there yet then we can just get Monica to check up on the hospital to see if a Shiki Tohno checked in or if the Tohno Residence exists while we just wait and take in the surroundings

First of all, she's not in a game or a VN. So I might as well clear that up at the beginning.
She was the main villain of the original concept for Fate/Stay Night, Fate Prototype, and has been called the prototype for Illyasviel. This was the version of Fate where the main character was a girl who looked a bit like Rin and Saber was the male King Arthur.
Manaka was the protagonist's older sister, who sort of something like died ten years prior to the events, in the previous grail war, causing her aging to stop. She has a direct connection to the Root and insanely high quality circuits, making her a magus even more powerful than Illya at her strongest. She's also a top-grade yandere. Arthur was her servant in the previous war, and she's still obsessed with him. This is the driving force for most of what she does. She killed her father as a sacrifice to the Holy Grail, which worked a bit differently in Prototype, and attempted to do the same to the protagonist. She attempts to use the grail to summon the Beast of Revelations, the prototype version of Angra Manyu, because she's twisted Arthur's wish in such a way as to interpret it as being fulfilled if the apocalypse ensues. I don't remember the exact details. Generally speaking, in terms of mixing cutesy and psychotic evil, she outdoes Illya at her best in F/SN.
Also, her character design is adorable, Just look at it.
>>
>>4332211
Oh, one other charm point I should mention. Her insane obsession with Arthur is based on a prior fixation on the ideal of a 'fairytale romance', and that's something I find incredibly endearing.
>>
>>4332214
problem is how are we even going to try to romance her considering that we'd probably have to reach the root first to even find her
>>
>>4332231

>>
>>4332231
No idea, honestly. It's a bit of a pipe dream, and my main goal is still to marry Illya. The only way I can think we might be able to get a chance with Manaka would be by buttering up Zelretch, and I kind of doubt we'll get the chance to have him do us any more favors after he already went out of his way to put our soul here in the first place.

Manaka, huh? Well, we'll see if you can convince Old Zel to mess up the timeline for you when you actually get around to meeting him. Not that I'd really say it's a wise choice to try getting Manaka to fall for you. Yanderes are dangerous after all, and she's the most dangerous Yandere in Fate.
You're wrong about one thing though, she's summoning the Beast of Revelations not to bring about the apocalypse, even though that would be a side-effect of summoning it, and is in reality intending to use Beast as a magical energy boost for herself so she can use her connection to the Root to truly actualize Saber's wish of an Eternal Britain.
The only thing stopping her from doing so is a lack of mana, as even if she did alter the past to bring about Saber's wish, she doesn't have enough magical energy to maintain it through Gaia's corrective impulse.
She truly does want to bring about Saber's wish.

>>4332272

I believe so yes. Still, it speaks magnitudes of just how much power that Manaka holds, to really only be held back in what she's capable of doing by how much magical energy she has available.
It's really quite unfortunate that we'll never get to see the original Prototype, honestly.
>>4332968
I'm fairly certain that Manaka's Connection to the Root would prevent her from being summoned by the Holy Grail. There's not much point of a ritual to reach the Root if the Grail can facilitate the summoning of somebody with a direct connection to it.
Unfortunately.
You'd need something close to the level or at the level of True Magic to occur if you genuinely do want to meet Manaka.
>>4332995
He's from Prototype too, or was at least intended to be.
Honestly though, I wouldn't say he's a scumbag at all. If anything he's one of the nicer servants you could summon.
>"I don’t have a wish for the Grail.
>As this body had already been filled.
>I always believed.
>In the world’s warmth.
>In the goodness of people."
>>4333001
I wouldn't know if calling him a successful Shinji is really suitable for him given what we know of him from Prototype, where he is summoned by a terminally ill master who later dies. His only motivation after his master uses all three of his command spells to give him a physical body and dies (which can apparently be done in the Prototype Universe) is to win the Holy Grail War and resurrect his previous Master with the wish, devoting himself to the war completely.
This doesn't sound like a Shinji move at all.
>>4333004
You could always try growing out your hair a little to try to make yourself less Jason-like in appearance.
>>
>>4333011
>>4333012
I think it's really more a mannerisms thing. I can totally see canon Shinji and Jason acting very similarly.
Could you imagine how horribly smug that canon Shinji would act if he had a full power Heracles backing him up?
That's basically Jason.
>>

I've always had the impression that the Perseus Medusa described in Hollow Ataraxia was a pretty different character from the one who appears in Prototype, because the descriptions don't really line up aside from him being a lady-killer. Maybe he matured after becoming a confirmed hero by cheating his way to a victory over the gorgon.

I'd say that has a very good chance of being how things happened.
We know that Servants can change in outlook and personality dramatically based on the period of their life they are based upon. We've got Gilgamesh acting as a perfect example, with Ko-Gil, Archer Gil, and Caster Gil all being massively different as people. With only a shared love of their clay boyfriend/girlfriend and a world-shaking hatred of Ishtar really shining through in all of them.

If that's a genuine question, no.
That's Atrum Galliasta, Caster's original Master who decided to summon the WITCH OF BETRAYAL and proceeded to treat her like shit.
The reason? He was angry that his CASTER was a superior magus to him. He's also an idiot and thinks that Touko couldn't possibly deserve her rank as a Grand in the Mage's Association because she's from Japan.
There has not been a character that has been more deserved his death than Atrum.

Well yes, but that isn't exactly an ideal situation.
Though I think there are a few anons who want to see Dark Sakura so who knows?
>>4333176
Very low. Kiritsugu could hardly even compete against Kirei while the two were basically in their primes. Kiritsugu only survived their fight due to Avalon making him nearly unkillable. Kirei crushed Kiritsugu's heart basically the moment they entered close quarters.
Though it's worth noting that Kirei did have the command spells to supplement his magical energy for that fight.
Both of them have gotten weaker since the end of the Fourth War, the only difference is that Kiritsugu has been massively weakened.
Kirei? Not so much.

"Let's take the train, Monica-san. I don't trust the traffic not to slow us down too much, and catching a train should be the fastest way to get to Misaki Town by default. So sorry, but we'll have to leave your car in Fuyuki for now." Rather unfortunate, but probably for the best.

Monica looks at you with a smirk on her face. "Who said anything about it being my car? I just fried all the cameras in the area and hot-wired one that took my fancy. My magecraft is great when it comes to that, actually." You haven't actually asked the woman what she can actually do with her magic yet. You suppose you'll find out eventually what she's capable of. "Speaking of which, I should probably go and dispose of it at some point..."

"M-Monica-san?!" Despite your obvious interest in just what she is capable of with her magecraft, you can't exactly hide your shock at the complete disregard for the laws of Japan. To just steal a car when you find it convenient? Just what sort of stuff does this woman normally get up to, to so casually commit grand theft auto without a second thought?! What if she gets caught? Well, you suppose that getting caught by the police isn't exactly much of a problem for a spellcaster anyway. Even somebody like Waver is capable of hypnotizing people, after all. So it's not like some mundane police officers would represent much threat to anyone with any sort of magical skill unless they just instantly opened fire.

"Oh don't worry about it, Shinji-kun. I'm not about to get caught for stealing a car. Besides, if the police were going to catch me, then it wouldn't be the car thefts they would be going after me for." That doesn't exactly dissuade your worry about Monica's habits of just breaking the law when it is useful to her. You'd say that this woman is an absolutely terrible influence for a child to have around. But perhaps a master of more subversive activities is just what you need on your side. She's almost certainly no Assassin when it comes to skill, and you have some doubts about how this Spellcaster would stack up to say, Kiritsugu in his prime. But who can tell? You certainly don't know what sort of professional reputation that Monica has earned for herself and it's not like you have enough contacts in the mystic world to find out either.

You suppose you could just ask her, but where's the fun in that? "I... I guess, Monica-san. I just hope you don't get in trouble for breaking the rules." Honestly, your contact with Monica would be rendered pretty useless if she became a genuine internationally wanted criminal.
>>
"Aww, are you worried about me, Shinji-kun? Don't worry, I can look after myself, you know?" That may be so, but unlike Monica, you are quite aware of the advances that technological surveillance will undergo in the next few years. Really, with how technology is advancing, it's only going to be a matter of time until somebody accidentally manages to spill the beans when it comes to the existence of magic. At least the rise of technological surveillance is accompanied by a rise in the quality of special effects. It's not exactly like anybody is going to take a look at a video of a man casting a spell and calling it genuine, really.

Still, despite your concern for the woman getting herself cornered by acting careless, you decide to go for a less obvious approach. "N-no, I'm just saying you shouldn't get yourself in trouble... OK?" It seems to have the intended effect, and the woman gives you a wide smile.

The smiling spellcaster looks you in the eye and shrugs while running a hand through her hair "OK, OK. I'll be more careful in the future, if that's what you think I ought to do, Shinji-kun. You're the boss right now anyway, right?" It's a little bit annoying still being treated like a child, even if she is treating you like you're an especially intelligent child. "Shall we get going then? I don't know when the next train to Misaki is, so we'd best get to the station sooner rather than later."

"That would probably be for the best then, Monica-san." The woman takes your hand as she leads you through the streets, smiling down at you once in a while with a smile you think is supposed to be reassuring. Monica still pretty obviously isn't used to working with children, so is probably just copying whatever she's doing off of some TV program she last watched. She does seem quite fond of television for a magecraft user.

It doesn't take too long for the two of you to both reach the train station nor does it take very long for you to actually get tickets for a train heading to Misaki. Before too long you are seated in first class seats with Monica and watching the scenery of Japan pass you by through the window. It really is quite the beautiful country. You would've liked to have spoken to Monica a little more, but she went to sleep on the train pretty quickly. You never really considered the distance between Fuyuki and Misaki before this point, but you probably should have. The train journey is supposedly just about eight hours long, and your only conversational partner has fallen asleep while leaning on you.
>>
You could easily push her off thanks to having trained your body, even with the physique of a child, but you decide not to and instead to just allow the spellcaster to sleep undisturbed as you look out of the window. Things sure are going to get complicated in the future. You proceed to spend the next few hours both staring as the world flies past at high speed and daydreaming about the future. You must admit that you do feel a little bit worried about Gilgamesh, even if you know a perfect tactic to defeat the King of Heroes, there's no guarantee that Saber's use of Avalon will always work, and other than maybe Heracles landing a direct hit with all of his might on the golden Servant, you can't really imagine the rest of the servants summoned in the Fifth having a shot at beating him. Cú Chulainn? Maybe if he gets really lucky, but you've seen the conclusion to that fight already in the Fate route. EMIYA? Certainly possible, but EMIYA wouldn't have the advantage of still being a human and exploiting Gilgamesh's own pride against him. Gilgamesh wouldn't have hesitated about his use of Ea for nearly as long had he been up against a Servant. Medea, Sasaki Kojiro, Medusa? Not a chance in hell they would even have a a tiny chance of winning against the King of Heroes.

You end up spending a long time coming up with and subsequently discarding or filing away plans to defeat mainly Kirei and Gilgamesh. Of course, you think of theoretical enemies too, like Caster and maybe Bazett, but with the right timing, both of those enemies could easily become allies. You think of maybe even trying to form an alliance with the Einzbern prior to the beginning of the war to maybe reduce the threat of Illya and Berserker towards you. Hours pass as you both plot and look at the delightful scenery of the country, until the train pulls up to a station and you find you are now only about an hour away from Misaki Town.

It's at that point that the woman you've been looking for shows up right in front of you. She enters the train through a set of sliding doors before scanning the carriage with those blue eyes of hers and sitting a few seats away from both you and Monica. She's wearing a plain white shirt and some jeans, with her most striking feature being her incredibly long bright red hair. She puts a heavy looking trunks down next to her as she takes her seat. Aoko Aozaki, the Fifth True Magician. She's... right in front of you! All you need to do is go up to her and introduce yourself, right?

>No. If you introduce yourself to the woman now, there's a chance that she won't meet Shiki, and the future will be changed. Just continue on as you were before. This confirms that Shiki is still in hospital... if he exists.

from what you guys have said dark sakura is made up of all of sakuras helplessness, fear, and pain. so the best way i can see of stopping dark sakura from coming in to reality is by making normal sakura so strong that she can fight against her fate and beat down those that put her in pain.

so ultimately i say we turn sakura in to a heroic protagonist like naruto or goku as i do not think we our self can become strong enough to stop our grand father but sakura can be made strong so she can save her self.

>>4333209
Yeah, that's just not true. Dark Sakura is regular Sakura coming into her power, and "making Sakura so strong that she can fight against her fate and beat down those that put her in pain" is a pretty exact description of how to make Dark Sakura a reality. The only ways to keep her from showing up would be to either make sure nobody ever traumatizes her in the first place (too late for that) or keep her totally confident in the belief that she can rely on someone else (us) and doesn't need to act on her own.
I'm guessing you haven't read FSN, from what you said about not knowing much about Fate. I really suggest you do, not just to make you better informed about this quest, but because it's an incredible VN.

Sakura isn't inherently evil, but Sakura's power is. She has a fundamental connection to a being called Angra Manyu, also known as All the World's Evils. When she gains magical power, it corrupts her personality, intensifying all negative emotions. Hence Dark Sakura.

Hey, I have just the guy in mind. He's got great circuits, and he's even been training in martial arts since he was a kid.

>>
>>4333373
>I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make, seems like something we'd tell her anyway.
It's about timing and playing to our known strengths.
You could be blunt and put all your cards on the table right off the jump and hope she'd care enough to help us out of the kindness of her heart and a natural curiosity for what we are. This isn't a given, however. She's here for a reason and is a pretty big deal. She's just as likely to see us as a threat as she is to either tell us to fuck off or help us out.
So you could do that....or you can take a more naturalistic approach. Put that Rosy Cheeked Adonis E+ to good work and worm your way into her story instead of demanding she drop what she's doing to be apart of ours. We know she's here. We know where she'll be. Startup a nice conversation and let her interest in us build naturally. I have no intention of telling her anything beyond our name and maybe that we'll be a the hospital, giving her more incentive to go if she didn't or wouldn't have enough reason to go already. If we use any meta-knowledge at all, we use it as hooks for her to keep an eye out for us rather than a reason for her to be concerned and change her plans completely. Gotta be playful and cute, but also coy and wise beyond your years. Gotta hint at that dark backstory too. Make Aoko want to come to us if she were to see us in a crowd, rather than someone that demands her attention in a potentially negative way. Make HER want to help US.
Is it manipulative and sorta shitty?
In a way, but it's all for a good cause and everyone invoulved will be better for it in the end.

Well, if we want to use the Grail for its true purpose, we'll definitely need to figure out a way to purify it.
So the two main methods I've thought of are using All-Fiction to get rid of Angra, and Medea's purification method.
I have a third conjecture, but I think it's sorta flimsy.
Could it be possible to somehow extract Angra from the grail and have him become a sacrifice?
The Servants of the last war should still be in the Greater Grail too right?
But even if we ended up retrieving everyone from the Grail at most it would be 6 souls, so we'd still need to kill Gilgamesh to properly perform the ritual.
And if Angra must be destroyed no matter what, then there would still be 5 souls in the Grail, and with Gil being worth two it still works out.

My concern with the latter method is the effect removing the souls form the Greater Grail would have on the process of the grail war, since they're what's causing the war to start 50 years earlier.
So, to circumvent this I've come up with an idea I think is a bit insane, but possibly possible.
If we get involved with Tsukihime, we could capture Nrvnqsr and use him as a power source for the Greater Grail couldn't we?
I seem to recall he has several phantasmal beasts within him, and the firepower to wipe out a continent correct? I think that would supply the Greater Grail's energy source long enough for the ritual to complete.
The challenge here is actually devising a method to capture him though.
>>
>>4333539
Okay, hear me out. Zouken is made up of hundreds of worms, and each worm is a living thing.
So what if we throw Zouken in the greater grail?
>>
>>4333555
I don't think he's strong enough to power it though, and that would mean we'd need to keep him alive for that long in the first place.
Unfeasible either way.
>>
>>4333539
Counter idea. Purify the grail, then kill five of the servants summoned for the 5th holy grail war plus Gilgamesh, who's worth 2.
Assassin, Fake Assassin, Lancer, Berserker, and Archer should do it and let us spare Rider and Saber if we want to. The mechanics of how to kill them are tough of course, but on the whole I think the plan has a better chance of working than anything based on pulling old spirits out of the grail.
>>
>>4333564
And Caster, obviously we'd be keeping her alive. We need her expertise to make it work.
>>
>>4333564
You can only kill one of the assassins and have them count.
There should be nothing wrong with using the souls already in the Grail though, that's the reason they were called in the first place.
>>
>>4333539
Regarding this plan, I think it's fundamentally flawed because of the idea of taking souls out of the grail. Putting aside the question of whether or not that's possible, as I understand it the grail is a container that must be filled with energy gathered from heroic spirits and the earth in order to perform the ritual. Normally it would take in the energy of the earth for 50 years and then be filled by 7 servants, but we can do it with only 10 years of Fuyuki's energy because it's still full of servants from the last war. If we take any out, there's no point in sacrificing them again. We'd just be taking the energy out and putting it right back in, and we'd still need 7 new servants worth of energy.
>>
>>4333567
It's not that the souls of the servants killed in the 4th war can stand in for the souls of the servants summoned for the 5th. My understanding of the system is that right now those souls are standing in for 40 years worth of energy from the earth. See what I mean?
>>
Idk about you guys but it just isn't worth it for me to kill 5 servants to unlock Heaven's Feel
>>
>>4333576
You know they're going to die at the end of the war anyway, right? The greater grail is all that's sustaining their existence. Saber and Rider only got to survive in their ends because of unique cases (Saber's constitution in one and Sakura's huge amount of energy in the other). If they aren't killed, they'll just fade away; it's a die or die situation for any Servant that doesn't win the war and get incarnated.
>>
>>4333569
The way I recall it, the Greater Grail works soley off leyline energy, which is why it takes 60 years to ramp up.
While the Greater Grail is the facilitator of the summonings and assignment of command seals, and maintaining of the Servants, the Lesser Grail needs the souls inside to create the opening to the root.
Inside the Greater Grail the souls are simply acting as batteries and fuel for Angra's birth.

>>4333571
Hence Nrvnqsr. He should be able to power it single-handedly long enough to complete the ritual.

>>4333576
I don't mind killing 5, but I am thinking of ways to prevent it.
Another idea I had was going on Apostle hunting for mana batteries.
>>
>>4333576
Also, are you really that attached to, like, Assassin or Berserker? Or suicidal Archer? Attached enough that you want to ignore their wishes as spirits to keep them alive? The heroic spirits did all choose to be summoned into a battle royale in which it was their understanding that all but one would die.

>>4333582
>Inside the Greater Grail the souls are simply acting as batteries and fuel for Angra's birth.
I would believe that, but it doesn't explain the shorter wait time for the 5th war. I'm pretty sure Illya or someone in the VN said the 5th could be fought early because the leftover energy of the dead servants was powering the greater grail, but it's not like I have a citation, so... I dunno. I just doubt we can take out the last war's souls and have it work.
>Hence Nrvnqsr. He should be able to power it single-handedly long enough to complete the ritual.
That's a big unknown. If it works I'm all for it, but right now I don't think we have any way to quantify how the energy of his spirit compares to the servants'.
>>
>>4333579
Caster could live beyond the war too, if she wasn't so unlucky.

>>4333586
Doesn't he have a few dragons inside him?
They have infinite mana generators don't they?
>>
>>4333586
And yeah, the reason the 5th war happened early was because Kiri blew up the Lesser Grail and all the souls went into the Greater Grail instead of dispersing.
>>
>>4333589
>Caster could live beyond the war too, if she wasn't so unlucky.
And Caster was one of those I suggested keeping alive.
>Perpetual energy machine dragons
But do their souls equate to an infinite quantity of energy, or do they just possess the ability to use as much energy as they need while alive? I don't know. For that matter, I also don't know whether or not he has dragons.
I'm just saying, the Heaven's Feel ritual was worked out by a group of the greatest magi in the world, and specifically designed to function with heroic spirits. I'm not filled with confidence about it working with any other fuel, although I am willing to try if we get the chance.
>>
Just seems like a dick move to make them all kill themselves after we're done with them
>>
>>4333598
You're assuming all of the servants are going to be on our side? That's some pretty unbelievable confidence you've got there.
I was thinking we'd have to kill the five ourselves. Or at least using our servant(s).
>>
>>4333599
I mean, we'd kinda have like 5 servants on our side if we do the bare basics, not really that big a stretch to get 2 more
>>
>>4333598
Let's go through it one by one.
True Assassin is Zouken's servant, so he's definitely our enemy. There's no chance of a reconciliation there.
Archer is going to be our enemy as long as we're Shirou's friend, so since at least 80% of the players want to be buddy-buddy with Shirou he's going to be trying to kill us at some point.
Lancer is a born fighter who just wants an enjoyable battle to the death. He's also Kirei's servant. Definitely going to end up dying.
Berserker is a mindless fighting machine, and the servant of someone who planned to sacrifice him from the beginning. There's no reason to feel sorry for him, since he doesn't have a mind, and no chance of his survival.
So that's four. Saber, Rider, and Caster are iffy, but personally I'll be pretty surprised if they all live to the end of the war.
>>
>>4333598
It is unlikely that we will be aided by other servants given the reward
>>
>>4333598
>>4333599
Why not just use our marble to erase the energy requirements for the grail to function or fuck, erase the fact that it's empty of energy outright?
I mean fuck, from what's come up in thread we should be able to pull JoJo tier shenanigans with it.

>>4333607
I would like to become buddies with Sasaki. I mean, the Hero of France is awesome.
>>
>>4333607
True Assassin might not even be summoned since we're likely to kill Zouken first chance we get which leaves us with Medea summoning Kojiro

Archer would get dom'd by Rin and her command seals, kept in line by us because we know who he is and might not even try anything against Shirou if we do something to change his personality

I'll give you Lancer only because we haven't even discussed if we wanna team up with Bazett or not which is a whole other can of worms.

A bunch of Anons wanna romance Illya, Illya and Berserker are kind of a given pair so...
>>
>>4333612
>FGO memes
I almost don't want to respond.
To talk about it seriously, though, fake Assassin's situation is so utterly messed up it's almost a mercy to kill him. He has no past or future, he's a name and technique without an actual spirit or origin, the thinnest possible existence. Not only can he not survive the end of the war and deactivation of the greater grail, he can't even leave the temple gate. That's just pathetic. The nicest possible thing you can do for him is let him duel Saber and die that way.
Or summon Miyamoto Musashi and let that guy kill him, but that's probably not on the table.
>>
>>4333616
Kojirou I just covered.
Archer's a pretty smart guy, I think your idea of things working out that way is far too optimistic.
Illya's plan, from day 1, is to have Berserker be the last living servant and then command seal him to kill himself. That's the Einzbern plan; it's how she intends to become the Third. I'm one of the anons who wants to team up with Illya, and I know that teaming up with Illya means seeing Berserker die at the end of the war.
>>
>>4333620
I mean, if JoJo tier shenanigans are on the table with our marble, we just erase the fact that he's fake, erase the fact that he's bound to the temple and erase his dependency on Caster.
We may have to also erase the fact that he'll vanish without mana, but I'm up for trying.
>>
>>4333593
Well, no, the ritual itself had the Heroic Spirits act as a method to breach a way into the root, not as an energy source to run the Greater Grail with.
The Greater Grail works by sucking in the ambient mana over a long period of time in order to amass enough to begin the summoning, so it stands to reason that a significant amount of mana would perform the same function as the ambient mana.

>>4333607
Zouken 100% will die before the 5th HGW with the way we're going.
Archer isn't going to be a problem if Shirou doesn't remind him of himself.
Depending on what happens Bazette may be Lancer's master this time around, still an enemy though.
Berserker does have a mind though, he even talks in the Fate route.

>>4333620
If we interfere with Medea and act as her Master, she may not end up summoning Fake Assassin in the first place though.

>>4333623
That actually sounds kind of fitting for Berzerker, he also wants to protect Illya, and his sacrifice would allow her to become immortal.
>>
>>4333625
Being able to erase any concept we want is omnipotence, because you can frame any aspect of any situation as a concept. I'm not going to make plans based on the assumption that we'll be omnipotent by the end of the war. If our reality marble does end up working that way, sure, we could do anything. I don't think What is going to just hand us the author's pen, though.
>>
>>4333623
Archer couldn't do shit to Shirou while he was under Rin, why would he try anything now? Especially if we tell him that there are bigger fish to fry?
>>
>>4333635
It seems like you're ignoring the fact that he intentionally manipulated the situation to get out of Rin's control in order to get the chance to make an attempt on Shirou's life in UBW. In the other two routes he died before he had the chance. The way I see it, as long as he's alive he's going to find a way to try to kill Shirou eventually. It's just a matter of finding his chance. So if you want to keep him alive perpetually, you're going to have to face up to that at some point.
>>
>>4333641
Archer can kill Shirou any time he actually feels like it, in three out of three routes he ends up dying while saving Shirou from certain death.
>>
>>4333641
Eh, kinda been convinced to kill him, I guess I just don't want him to die depressed or thinking he can kill himself through a paradox
>>
>>4333631
>Zouken will be killed before the 5th
>Medea won't do any summoning if we interfere
Sounds like we could wind up with an OC master and new assassin in the war. That would be fun.
>>4333643
That's the fundamental contradiction of his character, isn't it? He accepted the summoning with the sole intention of killing Shirou, after all. I just don't have the kind of optimism that would allow me to expect that guy to play nice and go along with our plans.
A QM usually does put some enemies in the way of the players getting whatever they want, you know? There'll be some danger in the war, I believe. It'd be pretty strange if What just had things work out with no difficulty, and Archer's belligerent plans are a great potential source.
>>
>>4333649
Archer is scary but also will still work for the greater good. He knew about the Angra Mainyu shadow and gave Shirou his arm to save his life
>>
>>4333659
But what exactly is the greater good in this situation? All I've seen in terms of motivations for Shinji from the players is a selfish desire to give certain characters certain endings because it'd make us feel better as fans, because we care about them. That's not any kind of greater good, it's just toying around with these characters. True to the reality marble, I haven't seen anyone approach this from the perspective of a person in this world; just fans outside of it, trying to push the story this way or that for their own satisfaction. I don't see any greater good there, myself.
It wouldn't surprise me if at some point down the line a moralistic character like Archer or Shirou confronts our version of Shinji with a line something like "You don't see anyone around you as a person, do you? You just look down on us all, like you think you're some kind of god who can rewrite people's lives to be whatever you want them to be. You don't really care about anything, Shinji, except your own entertainment."
Something like that, anyway. We could end up the villain here.

This is it! Your chance to make a good impression on Aoko! Of course, revealing everything about yourself to the woman would be foolish, the best course of action for you right now would probably be to simply compliment the woman and put that boyish charm of yours to good use. After all, her hair really is quite beautiful, so it's not exactly like you'd be telling a lie. It's not just her hair that's beautiful either. Aoko is easily the most attractive woman you've met so far in your life. But that's not really saying much when it comes to well, sex appeal, Sakura is still cuter though.

You observe Aoko as she stares out of the window and gives a light sigh. What could she even be heading to Misaki for anyway? You know that compared to Fuyuki there's more normally going on, but still, nothing comes to mind. You wait for few minutes as you observe her before shifting Monica off of you while carefully trying not to disturb her slumber, once you're free from the weight of the freelance spellcaster you get up from your seat to approach the sorcerer, who turns to regard you with a curious eye as you walk up to her.

You actually get a little nervous as she regards you silently, almost as if appraising you with a discerning eye. T-this woman, she's not actually a shotacon, is she? Those were just jokes, right? Right? "H-hi... Miss, I... I wanted to tell you that... your hair is... really pretty." Her expression softens a little bit at that compliment, even if you did somewhat butcher the delivery. But can you really be blamed? This is Aoko Aozaki! A true magician!

"That's kind of you to say. But didn't your parents ever tell you that you aren't supposed to just talk to strangers? They might be bad people, you know.

"Y-you look nice, miss. I don't think that you're a bad person..." Well, you actually know that she's definitely not a bad person but that's neither here nor there, and you certainly aren't going to reveal to anybody just yet that you once read about them in a novel in another life. That sort of knowledge is the sort of stuff that could drive somebody into despair, after all, so it's not something you'd like to tell anybody without some serious consideration as to how they might actually take the revelation beforehand. You suppose that Sasaki Kojiro wouldn't really care though, so that's always somebody you can tell the truth to. It might even make him feel better about his own situation as a false heroic spirit.

She smiles as you reveal your own opinion on her by her appearance alone. "You know, just because you might think I'm pretty, it doesn't mean you should trust me in the future. There are lots of women in this world with pretty faces and rotten hearts, you ought to know."

"But not you, right Miss?" You counter.

Aoko actually gets a little flustered by your repetition of the same compliment. "I... I suppose not. What's your name, kid?" The woman is clearly somewhat interested in you now, if only for your persistence.

"Me? My name is Shinji! Shinji Matou! It's nice to meet you! Uhm... if you don't mind me asking, can I have your name too, miss?" The secret however is to not refer to her by her name even after finding it out. Aoko isn't all too fond of her name, due to how much it sounds like Blue (Ao) in Japanese.

"Matou...? Why does that name sound familiar...?" She looks like she's trying to remember something for a moment before she shakes her head to dismiss the thought. "I'm Aoko Aozaki." Seems like the Fifth might just be familiar with the Grail Wars of Fuyuki, though not so familiar that she can recognize the Matou name immediately, thankfully.

"Aozaki...-san?" The woman frowns just a tiny amount as you repeat her name. Unfortunately, it's not like you can just on the spot start calling her sensei or shishō, especially as the woman hasn't exactly taught you much yet, other than not to be deceived only by a woman's face. Really, quite a flattering thing to say, especially when she's so beautiful herself, you're about to ask Aoko her business before you suddenly get tugged away from the seat you had taken next to Aoko.

You look up to see Monica giving you a strained smile. "Come on now, Shinji-kun. You can't just go running off like that, you know?" She then turns to the somewhat startled red haired women to apologize. "My apologies miss, but Shinji-kun has a bad habit of running off on his own. My parents asked me to keep an eye on him, but he got away the moment I fell asleep." You don't bother trying to protest as Monica drags you away from Aoko. It's unfortunate that your meeting has been cut short, but you suppose it might be for the best. Now at least your second meeting with the woman might actually get you somewhere. You'll have to make sure that Monica doesn't interfere tomorrow though. You suppose you could visit Shiki in the hospital, or at least wait for him to sprint out of the city and into the fields. You're pretty confident you could outpace him in a marathon on account of his terrible injury. Broken Nanaya genetics be damned!

After Monica drags you away from Aoko, she sits you down next to her, making sure that you're far enough away from the Fifth True Magician to avoid her overhearing her and says to you in a quiet voice, barely a whisper. "Do you know just who that was you were talking to, Shinji-kun?"

>"No, should I? Is she important?"

I'm familiar with all that, thank you. Hence the Russian Orthodox church growing out of Greek Orthodoxy, the title of Tsar, etc. My understanding of things was that this was mainly a flow of culture, though, while the people who moved from Europe into Russia in the past mainly came from its northwest. Rurik and those he brought with him were Scandinavian, for example, and many families of German nobility were established in Russia during the modernization and westernization efforts of some Tsars such as Peter the Great. Although there was much cultural exchange between the Russians and Greeks, I've never before heard of family names being a part of that exchange. So it's interesting to me.

He just had tunnel vision for Rin but was realistically the most attractive boy in school.
Not that he faced particularly tough opposition. Shirou? Issei? I'm pretty sure a good half of the school think those two were in some form of taboo forbidden relationship, honestly.
I'm also pretty sure that in the UBW Route, Issei ends up thinking that too.

So guys, I just remembered something. Mages are all autistic as fuck and Shirou is Shirou.
While we're in Misaki town, we should buy some flip mobile phones to give to Shiki, Monica and Aoko so we can actually contact them. Then when we get back to Fuyuki, let's get phones for Shirou and Waver.
If we're lucky, once Waver gets popular at the clock tower, his fans will start picking up cell phones too.

However, the Case or Custom Design on Shirou's phone has to be this.

>Getting Aoko a phone.
Boys, I think you guys are missing the point. The fifth magician isn't some dog that will come running if we call her. She's not some rogue for hire like our dear Monica or an easily befriended upstart that knows of us and our family like Waver. She's a very important and very powerful woman with a busy life. We're here to try and learn stuff from her and if we're lucky, be cute enough for her to keep an eye on us on her own time.
Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but I highly doubt we'll be able to endear ourselves to her so well that she'll decide to be our life line in case of emergency, meta knowledge, Rosy Cheeks or otherwise.
The best we can hope for is what we originally planned. Starting up that social link and hopefully finding a way to practice magic without the Old Worm noticing. Getting some of that true guidance is what we need and probably the most we'll get for now.
Keep your dreams high but your goals obtainable is all I'm saying.

Nobody thinks she's our dog or our lifeline. I want to get her a mobile so it's easy for her to contact us if she wants, or we can try to contact her if we need to.
Besides, what is there to lose? 11000¥ from Shinji's pocket? Worst is she'll say no.
>>
>>4334940
>or we can try to contact her if we need to.
No, Stop that.
She's the fifth and even if she can't quite remember it now, Matou is a semi-big name and fairly easy to look up. She'll find us if she wants to.
And we, under no circumstances, should demand or beg her for any of her time she isn't willing to give on her own unprompted.
At least for now.
We'll see how much of a rapport we're able to build with her before this little trip is done, but please remember that not even Shinji has that much access to Aoko's time. I don't think anyone does, and trying to force her to pay attention to us in particular, isn't for the best.
We play this smoothly. We get what we can. We leave things as they lie.
It could be that I'm playing this overly cautious, but I feel it's appropriate when dealing with someone like a True Magician, even if it's very honest and kind person like Aoko.
>>

>>
"Of course I know who that is, Monica-san! Her name is Aoko Aozaki!" Her mouth twitches the tiniest amount upon your happy revealing of Aoko's name. It's pretty clear that Monica knows just who the Fifth is, and is aware of just how dangerous that Miss Blue can be if you were to somehow make her hostile. However, Monica regains some of her lost composure when you wink at her.

Instead of getting frantic, the realization that this is all part of whatever it is that you are planning seems to calm Monica a bit, who leans in close and begins to whisper very quietly in your ear. "You might already know this, but that woman is the Fifth True Magician and is a very important person in the Mage's Association. If you were to antagonize her, you'll be in an incredible amount of danger." Seems like she hasn't totally got the hint that playing on Aoko's good nature is part of your plan. Seems that when rumors about people spread, only the worst parts of their character become known. It's true that Aoko might be strong, but to judge somebody based entirely on their strength and the threat the represent is a little much for you. Then again, you suppose for a person like Monica, being able to judge threats to her even if they aren't hostile is all just part of the job. It's likely only because you are a practically harmless child that the woman seems to have somewhat opened up to you.

"But I think Aoko is a good person, Monica-san. Isn't it wrong to judge people based on what they are?" You respond to the whispering woman in a voice loud enough for Aoko to be able to hear, should she want to listen in.

"I... I guess?" Monica now sounds really quite confused by suddenly losing the upper hand in a conversation to a ten year old. Of course, unfortunately for her, you've got decades of life experience on her, and are as a result quite eloquent and good at talking. Far better than a freelancer would be, at least. In a war of words, Monica stands no chance. "B-but..."

You cut Monica off to say your own piece "Just because somebody is strong or important, it doesn't make them a bad person automatically. To just think that you shouldn't talk to people just because they are more important or more powerful than yourself isn't the way I want to live my life!" It's true, you aren't going to just content yourself with surviving. If you're going to get everyone the ending they deserve, as well as ensure your own happiness is secured, then you won't just shy away from talking to people because they are strong, no matter what your nerves might say!... Though you must admit, the thought of dealing with Gilgamesh face to face still terrifies you to no small degree. A man who could kill you without even making a gesture if you were to displease him enough is not the sort of person you relish the chance of meeting. Even though you know you will have to meet eventually.
>>
"Is that so?" A third voice cuts into your conversation, you don't know when she got up, but Aoko has in an instant made her way over to you and Monica. Aoko then looks at Monica with narrowed eyes, matching Monica's own narrow eyed glare at her, and a silent conversation seems to take place. You have no idea how strong Monica might think she is, but you'd really rather she didn't pick a fight with Aoko of all people. After a good twenty seconds of wordless glaring, Aoko speaks once again. "Excuse me, but what exactly is your relationship to Shinji-kun here? You aren't planning anything nefarious again, are you, Eisenmann?" Her voice is quiet as she reveals that the two have an apparently mutual understanding of each other's identities. "Who hired you to kidnap the boy? I knew that the name Matou was familiar to me, were you hired to take revenge for some aggrieved magus family from the war? The El-Melloi, perhaps? There's no job you freelancers won't take, right?" Aoko takes really quite the hostile tone with the woman you hired to escort you, and you begin to wonder just what sort of stuff Monica gets up to in her normal contracts. Of course, this woman has probably murdered dozens of people for nothing but money in the past. You should probably be concerned about that, when you think about it, but as long as she's not your enemy it's not really that much of a concern.

Monica makes an annoyed noise as the Fifth accuses her of planning to commit some sort of crime. "I don't have to tell you anything, Blue. But to satisfy your need to butt in on things that really don't concern you, I've actually just been hired to escort Shinji-kun for a few days. Now please, leave us be." She gives the Fifth Magician a terribly strained smile as she finishes up her rather short explanation.

"You didn't think I'd actually fall for that did you?" Aoko responds to Monica with a dangerous smile. This is quickly going to end poorly. She turns to you and the threat falls away from her face. "Is this woman really telling the truth, Shinji? Was she really hired as a guardian?" Aoko really is some sort of person that just headbutts her way into things that don't really concern her, isn't she? But of course you had to have hired the one freelancer with a reputation apparently great enough that Aoko Aozaki has either heard of her or has met with her before. With the way you can feel the hostility spark between the two of them, you'd even hazard a guess that the two might have even clashed over something in the past. Monica might just be far more competant than you've been giving her credit for, if she actually did manage to do battle with a True Magician. Though you somehow doubt that Aoko would've brought the full destructive power of the Fifth out to use against her even if that was the case.
>>
"Well... yes. She was, actually." You decide to tell the truth. As much as it might be interesting to see where this goes, you get the terrible feeling that it would just end up going poorly. Still, what dreadful luck that something like this would have ended up happening. What are the odds that Aoko just happened to know Monica? Honestly, you're quickly beginning to wish you just had Waver take you instead of Monica. "I wanted to go and... meet a friend of mine in Misaki Town." Quickly thinking of an excuse, you continue on. "I heard that he got himself hurt in an accident, but my father and... grandfather were far too busy to accompany me."

Aoko looks a little surprised by the revelation of Monica's innocence. Before she shrugs and looks at the freelancer again. "Well look at that. Maybe you are turning over a new leaf after all, Eisenmann." She then smiles at the irritated looking freelancer once again, this time practically inviting her to a fight with a somewhat smug expression. "Looks like I might have to start beating up freelancers more often... I wonder whatever happened to the Magus Killer...?" Aoko seems to come to some strangely dangerous conclusion about whatever happened between her and Monica in the past. Clearly some sort of fight and clearly one that ended in Monica's presumably embarrassing defeat.

Monica grits her teeth as Aoko reminds her of whatever happened in the past. "U-Uh! Thank you, Miss Fifth! For your concern... but ummm... a lot of people have started to stare!" You put on your best act as a panicked child, and thankfully, it seems to take some of the tension out of the train carriage from the two powerful women.

The long red-haired woman smiles at you, absolutely no hint of the anger she was directing towards Monica on her face "You're right, Shinji. Fighting here would be quite silly, wouldn't it? If you seriously don't need my help with this woman, then I'll be heading back to my seat. Alright?" You nod silently as the woman gives you one last concerned smile and Monica a suspicious glare before heading back to her own seat.

Monica mutters to herself as Aoko goes back to looking out of the window "Damn, what an annoying woman." She then spends the rest of the trip silently trying to stare a hole into the back of Aoko's head. You wonder if you ought to try to have Monica meet Touko. The two of them may very will get along if their opinions on the Fifth True Magician align so well.

Eventually though, you pull into the Misaki Town station at around 5PM, with Aoko getting off the train and fading into the crowd impossibly well. Almost as if she disappeared. Which for a woman with bright red almost floor length hair, shouldn't exactly have been possible.
>>
With Aoko having disappeared so easily, that really leaves you with a free night. You were sort of hoping that Fuyuki and Misaki were close enough that you would get to the town during the day, but it seems that wasn't really on the cards. It's still light out, but it's not going to last.

Matou clan has affinity to Water element

Origin likely differs from person to person, but Matou magecraft revolves around taking something and making it their own, so anything from Absorption, Pillage, or even Conquer is possible, assuming that you want to take over from Zouken. Shinji’s canon origin is probably closer to Worthlessness. Otherwise roll a fucking dice because I’d imagine Isekai would create some weird ass Origin

The hereditary affinity would be the affinity of Shinji's circuits (the 13 crappy ones). We have our own circuits, so probably our own affinity, but I don't have any guesses as to what it is. Guys, I just thought of how to instantly get Illya on our side and make her like us enough for a waifu route.

What we do is buy her an eight pack of enerloop batteries.

Even better
Zouken should welcome us home with open arms, then lead us to the basement and give us the ol jump into my rape pit or fuck off
Bonus points if he already threw shinji's dad in there for added effect
Then when we fuck off he tells sakura that we were too pussy to take on her burden for her(note, zouken left this bit out when propositioning us for added manipulation) and that nobody will ever save her

Nah, it's not that charitable to Base Shinji.
>Not quite, it's more the two of your souls fused into a single gestalt existence, the reason (You)r personality took charge is a combination of the greater life experience and a few other reasons. While 'you' are Shinji as much as you are (You), the Shinji parts are far less pronounced.
That's not to say that there aren't bits of Shinji that don't come out every now and again.
Like his pension to be sorta freaked out whenever strong women are around or the joy Shinji gets out of making his teachers seethe.
But for the most part, Shinji has been relegated to the background of our mind.

As for me, while Aged Up Illya is 100% cursed, I do wish for a future where she might be able to properly grow up and live a normal life...or as normal a life as mages tend to live anyway.
She can't be our little girl forever after all, I mean she can, that would be lit, but assuming she can't, we must learn to love her in all her forms just in case.
We've never seen a future where our girl has been able to...well live.

"Hey, Monica-san... I think it's a little late for me to meet the person I wanted to go see now, so I think we don't actually have anything to... well, do." You speak to the woman who is apparently far more dangerous than you had first taken her for. She obviously didn't win against Aoko, but the very fact that she actually has had a fight with her in the past speaks volumes of either Monica's skill as a freelancer, or her arrogance as a magus... and to be honest, seeing as she's so far portrayed almost none of the traditional magus qualities and seems to have actively gone down the path of a freelancer, you don't think it was arrogance that led to her doing battle with Aoko.

Had this woman fought in the Fourth Holy Grail War, then it's likely that Kirei and Kiritsugu wouldn't have just been able to practically walk all over every other enemy master in the war. Kiritsugu only really excels against magi, which is why he was in so much trouble against Kirei. It's likely that a spellcaster like Monica would utilize more unorthodox tactics that the Magus Killer wouldn't have been able to predict. Kayneth was supposedly a genius, yet despite all that genius all he did was yell 'scalp!' for the entire duration of the war. Then he died. Kiritsugu really was a massive asshole during that war. Not that Kayneth wasn't an equally terrible human being on account of being your average high ranking Clocktower magus.

You think about what to do now that you're in Misaki. Look for Aoko? Nah, she's the sort of woman that is only found when she wants to be found, you already saw how easily she disappeared from sight earlier, there's no reason to assume you would have any luck in actually well, tracking her down. Of course, you could try searching the city for the Tohno mansion, but seeing as the whole incident with SHIKI has only just happened, you don't feel like getting anywhere close to a place that is probably swarming with Oni-blooded people is a good idea. Especially when you might even run into Kouma Kishima. Of course, the Mixed-Blood wouldn't really have a reason to attack a child, but still, for some reason, the prospect of facing Kouma kind of scares you a little more than the prospect of facing Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh is arrogant and prideful, and that can be used against him. Whereas the prospect of facing Kouma in a social situation kind of feels something like trying to convince Berserker not to kill you. You don't want to be facing a complete monster than could even scare somebody with the true instincts of a killer like Shiki.
>>
Speaking of Shiki, you suppose you could always visit the boy while he's in hospital, on the assumption that he's actually there of course. For now though, you don't really feel like skulking about the corridors of a hospital to look for the injured boy. Besides, he's probably resting right now anyway, and it's unlikely that they would let visitors in anyw- Oh wait, you've got Monica with you. She can probably just hypnotize people into letting you pass. You really ought to learn how to do that when you finally get your circuits opened which by your own appraisal based on what little you know of how magic... well, feels are incredibly high quality. You can at least count them though, and you know you have a huge sum of magic circuits. Really, Hypnosis seems like a very basic skill for a magus to learn, and a very important one too. Can't take the chance that normal people will see and reveal magecraft, so it's something you imagine that is really one of the first things that prospective magi are taught. Unfortunately, despite your potential, it is wasted while hiding away your power from Zouken.

Of course, Touko would probably also be able to help you out, but Touko is somewhat more difficult to handle than her comparatively lovely sister. As long as you don't call her by that nickname of hers though, you ought to be fine should you run into the woman. You just need to remember how to handle a situation and that you're going to have at least some sort of upper hand in the majority of your dealings with people. After all, you've quite literally read a lot of them like books. It's people like Monica who concern you though, the less you know about people, the more difficulty you'll have in getting them to act in the way you want. Though honestly, you don't know if trying to manipulate Touko is really a good idea at all. She's quite a little bit brighter than Aoko, no offense to the Fifth, but Touko is probably the greatest living practitioner of modern magecraft there is. After all, what sort of a genius do you have to be actually make functioning replicas of the runes used by Odin himself?

"Hey, Monica-san. Do you... Do you just want to go and catch a movie? I hear that Independence Day is supposed to be quite good." Well, it's a decent movie at best. But Monica will probably enjoy it at least. You are at least able to tolerate the action film, even if you've already watched it.
>>
"A movie, Shinji-kun? Why yes, I suppose that we could do that. Don't you want to go and check our rooms at the hotel though?" You'd really rather not, honestly. There's only really one big hotel in Misaki Town, and it just happens to be the one a certain Dead Apostle Ancestor turned into his personal feeding grounds. Or well, will turn into his personal feeding grounds in the future. Maybe. You're really getting irritated by this whole uncertain future thing. Damn timeline confusion is getting on your nerves already. This is all Nasu's fault for making things so complicated and having a universe where he needed to start removing aspects from things just to have the stories he wanted to tell make sense. Like, if Arcueid existed in the timelines for Fate/Grand Order, then the story would've turned out terribly different.

You spend the rest of the night after visiting the movie theater just wandering about Misaki at night with Monica, visiting the shops and at one point you try introducing Monica to an arcade. She's slow to adapt to videogames, but you think she begins to enjoy them once she gets her bearings. Of course, throughout the night, you can't help but shake a feeling that you're being watched at certain periods. But whenever you think you saw something out of the corner of your eye, it seems to disappear without a trace. Are you being followed? Who could be following you anyway? Is this some sort of joke on Aoko's part? Is she watching over you out of mistrust for Monica? Then again, this is Misaki town. So it could very easily be something far more dangerous than an overly concerned true magician. Depending on her reputation, this might even be an assassin hired to dispose of Monica.

>Tell Monica that you think somebody is following the two of you.
>Remain silent and remain by Monica's side.
>Leave the arcade without Monica and confront the stalker alone.

"Monica-san. I... think that somebody is following us." You tell the woman in a quiet voice as you stand next to her in the arcade. The woman slowly steps away from the arcade cabinet with a sigh. Before looking through the window leading to the poorly lit streets outside.

"Yeah, I noticed too. Whoever they are though, it doesn't look like they are prepared to attack us in public. Which leads me to believe that this enemy of ours is either weak, or simply wants to remain unseen when dealing with us." Monica's voice is serious. "If it were Aoko following us, I doubt we would've even noticed her. Miss Blue is quite good at hiding when she wants to be. Even against somebody like me." You feel like you would feel more confident in Monica's abilities if you actually had the faintest idea of what they were. Right now all you really know is that the woman is strong enough to be considered some sort of side villain by Aoko. "I suppose we should go see what they want then, I hate being followed, but tonight I was really hoping they would just leave on their own accord." She takes your hand as she begins to lead you onto the street outside the arcade and into one of the many back alleyways of Misaki Town.

"A-are you sure you know what you're doing, Monica-san?" This better not be a Dead End, Monica. It seems that you might not appreciate just how dangerous these back alleys actually are!

"Of course I do, Shinji-kun. You hired me to protect you, didn't you? While I'm here, I won't let anything hurt you." No! Stop triggering death flags damn you! Don't you know how these things go? You're going to act overly confident in dealing with whatever decides to attack you and you are going to get killed for it!

"J-just be careful, Monica-san." You try to maintain an outward cool as you wait for whatever it is that is pursuing the two of you to reveal itself, though just as you give Monica one last warning, a shadowed figure jumps down from the darkness of the buildings surrounding you on both sides, landing on a manhole cover with a flourish and turning towards the two of you.

"Good evening." The figure introduces himself with a fanged smile, you can see his figure quite clearly. The man is wearing a fine looking red suit, as well as blond hair, clearly a foreigner to Japan as well as, well, a vampire. Of course, the biggest giveaway that this man is some sort of Dead Apostle is not only his fanged smile, but his eyes. One is red yet the other is... a curious swirling orange. "I hate to be so impolite to a fellow practitioner of the mystic arts, but would you mind handing that boy over to me? He's really quite an interesting enigma that I would like to study for myself. I can promise you he won't be harmed" His smile doesn't exactly give you any confidence that you study is all he wants to do. "Or, you can try to fight me and I'll kill you where you stand. It's your choice and one human won't really weigh on my mind too heavily. Magus or not."
>>
"Who are you...? And what do you want with Shinji-kun?" Monica raises an arm in front of you protectively. This trip has really taken a turn for the absolute worst. You just wanted to meet Aoko and now you're face to face with a damn Dead Apostle. At least you took Monica with you and not Waver. Otherwise things really would've been dire. At least Monica can hopefully deal some damage to this vampiric foe.

The man frowns, almost as if he was expecting to be known by reputation alone. "I am Constantine Vergil de Polignac, have you not heard of me? This is a backwards country though, so it's not like I'm all too surprised that the people who inhabit it would be so clueless." The vampire insults the entire nation of Japan with a shrug. "As for why I want the boy, it's his element, you see. I possess quite a unique ability to discern the elemental affinity of living things with but a glance, yet that boy... that boy has an elemental affinity even I have never seen before!" The vampire then smiles at Monica. "Of course, I can make it quite worth your while if you do. I would rather avoid having to spill the blood of a beautiful maiden such as yourself, and I am quite well off. Almost to prove a point, the vampire takes what looks like a bar of gold bullion out of his pocket to tempt Monica.

"Well, I have to admit that your offer of gold is quite the tempting one, but I noticed a few problems in it. One, there's nothing to stop you from just killing me and taking your money back. Two, I'd get an awful reputation if I just broke a contract for money and three!" She raises her voice now, and the vampire raises an eyebrow while Monica simply smiles. "You're standing on a manhole cover."

"Wha-aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!" The vampire barely gets to say a single syllable before screaming out in unexpected pain, the manhole cover he was standing on having somehow snapped shut over both of his legs like some horrific bear trap. Cutting deep into the flesh of the dead apostle. "That's it, prepare to di-" He doesn't even get to finish his next sentence before Monica cuts him off again.

"Form meinen Stahl" The metal making up the sudden beartrap begins to shift and take the form of rotating blades to shred the vampire into a gory mess. The vampire begins to scream in agony as the rotating blades send the gory mess of the lower half of his body plummeting into the rancid water of the sewers. Monica is so brutal in dealing with the vampire that you are simply standing and watching the carnage unfold, completely stunned by the power of the woman.

Constantine manages to pull himself free of the spinning blades before they claim his upper body too, yet the vampire is in no position to fight back against Monica as he is now. At least not until he is restored by the Curse of Restoration. "H-hold on. Mercy! Please!" Seems that however arrogant this man was before being dealt with with ease, he's not above begging for his life.
>>
His pleading only manages to evoke a smile from Monica however, who simply leans down to face the vampire close up and to pluck the bar of gold bullion from his hand. "And finally, four. Don't reveal that killing you would turn me a major profit." She then places a palm against the squirming vampires head and utters a single word. "Stromstoß!"

At her utterance, the vampire screams in agony as he is engulfed in a shining blue light and surrounded by crackling electricity. You are forced to turn away from the shining light produced by the spell lest you damage your eyesight. Monica just watches the vampire burn away into ashes with a smile on her face though. Good grief.

Finally, the light of her spell fades away and you turn back to Monica, who is poking through the ashes of the vampire, looking at the puddle of molten gold that has formed within the center of the remains of the arrogant vampire. She then proceeds to turn to you with a happy smile as she looks at the bullion in her hand and the large puddle of gold melted onto the floor. "Wow! Seems that God really does reward people for doing a good deed, look at all this gold, Shinji-kun!" She happily ignores the execution of the monster she just so easily carried out.

Well here's something I thought of too late.
There is a very real possibility that Aoko actually is watching us somehow, and if she sees we're in such good hands, she might be less inclined to give us assistance on our fated meadow field type encounter if she even deems it worth her time to help someone so well set up. Aoko seems like the type of girl that only gives boons to shotas that lack a solid support network, so us being able to hug up on Monica might be a good way to get that pat on the back and a 'the true strength was the friends you made along the way' speech, rather than anything tangible.
As much as I'd love to boost that affection with Monica, especially after seeing how quick she's able to get down with the get down, I can't keep quiet about this drawback in good faith.
But it's not all bad.
After all, assuming we meet up with Aoko a second time, we have enough of a horrible backstory to counteract this, but either way, it might make a difference in the long run.
I think it's worth it so I won't be changing, but I've given my piece about the subject.

Boy, who you tellin?
I said meadow field TYPE encounter, not that I wanted to steal Shiki's.
My whole plan with Aoko is that we get her attention enough to have a completely separate mentorship encounter with her. Cucking Shiki, If he's even around, is not only dangerous because of what he could have become without her guidance, but is a dick move that I'm not about.
That said, if we DO want that guidance from Aoko, which is remember the reason why we're here to start with, we gotta play the part, is all I'm saying.

You quickly move over to Monica, who is too busy twirling the gold bullion she looted from the very dead Dead Apostle in her hand to notice your approach, while she's distracted, you throw your arms around her and try to wrap her in a hug. "That was amazing, Monica-san! I had no idea you were that strong!" It's true, to see a Dead Apostle get so utterly dominated by a human enemy to the point that they attempted to plead for mercy wasn't something you were expecting to see today. Or really any day, honestly. Monica's magecraft clearly has something to do with magnetism and electricity, based on what exactly she did against that vampire. First the manipulation of the iron manhole cover and then the electrocution of the upper half of Constantine rendering the vampire nothing but a pile of dust and molten metal.

It seems that Monica really is somebody capable of dealing with Aoko somewhat. Of course, her magecraft is inferior to Aoko's own and far inferior to the Fifth, but the very fact that she dealt with a genuine Dead Apostle in less than a minute is truly indicative of her skill. This woman is incredibly deadly. In fact, you'd say that Monica is likely even better at killing than Kiritsugu was. Well, at least potentially. The Magus Killer's reputation for killing isn't exactly undeserved, and even if Monica is potentially superior to him thanks to her apparently incredible skill in magecraft, Kiritsugu's true strength was never really his actual physical ability to deal with threats. You doubt that even Monica as she is now would be able to survive standing on an anti-personnel mine she was unaware of.

Still, her magic would be pretty fantastic if you ever found yourself with Kiritsugu as your enemy, not only is it horrifyingly powerful by itself is is also a form of magecraft that so easily counters the use of weaponry like firearms and potentially even the Black Keys of the Church. Though you don't know just how the magical ability to manipulate magnetism or metal like Monica was apparently showing off would extend to magical constructs like Black Keys.

it's really quite funny. If Kiritsugu is the Magus Killer, then Monica has practically the perfect power-set for being the Magus Killer Killer. Good thing for Kiritsugu that he decided to retire, otherwise he may have found himself put up against his natural counter. Y'know, an actual natural counter, and not somebody like Kirei who just sort of ran at a guy with a gun and almost killed him. In fact, if Monica wanted to, she could likely kill Kiritsugu with ease unless the man took specific precautions against her. All it would take is for him to be carrying a single hand grenade and that would be the end of him.
>>
Still, thoughts of how your current ally stacks up to Shirou's father aside, Monica is truly an excellent ally for you to have made. Despite her... rather less than stellar reputation, to the point that Aoko would walk up to the woman in public and practically accuse her of kidnapping you in a fairly busy train carriage. For Aoko to have done something so foolhardy, you think that Monica may very well be the sort of freelancer who will take any sort of job as long as the pay is right. You hope that she at least has some sort of morality to her code though. Even if having an ally that won't hesitate to carry out your orders.

"W-woah!" Monica is clearly not expecting the sudden physical contact, and lets out a noise of surprise. "Hey! Of course I'm strong, Shinji-kun. If I wasn't, then I wouldn't even be here!" Woah, a little dark there, Monica. You're aware that you can say that you would've died, right? It's not like she's sparing your feelings by tiptoeing about the subject of death, she literally just brutalized that vampire like he was some victim in a particularly gory horror film.

You let go of the older woman, who is looking down and giving you a more reassuring smile than she was able to in the past, you smile back at her before you speak "I... I suppose you're right, Monica-san. Can we... Can we go to the hotel now? I don't really want to walk about at night any longer." Yeah, seems like Misaki Town is really a dangerous place for young boys with supernatural powers to walk around at night. You find yourself now very happy that you didn't have Waver accompany you after all. The future El-Melloi II would have been quite useless in a situation like that, and you don't even want to think about what would've happened had you gone alone. You give a half-certain smile as you realize that you must've just avoided getting a Bad End. Though for all you know, there's no reassuring duo of student and teacher to greet you and reassure you upon your death and your death will truly be final.

"Of course, Shinji-kun. I don't want to wander around these streets any longer than I have to either." She leans down to look at the pile of ashes again before poking her finger into the centre of the puddle of now solidified gold on the floor, whispering something as she does as a grey network of veins begins to form throughout the puddle, which soon becomes fluid again. You watch with curiosity as the puddle begins to take the shape of a large ball of gold with veins of iron running through it. The ball is so large that Monica can't even fit it into one of her pockets, forcing her to turn the large sphere into four somewhat small orbs of gold. As you watch her with curiosity in your eyes she looks at you and hands you the bar of gold bullion with a smile. "Here, I wouldn't feel right if I took all the money from killing that jackass vampire."
>>
"A-are you sure, Monica-san?" That's insane! That's a 400 troy ounce gold bar she just handed you! That's easily over a hundred thousand dollars that she's just parting with! Then again, it's not like she didn't take three times this amount of gold from that large puddle of molten metal left behind after she killed the vampire.

She hesitates for a moment "...Just take it, alright?" She sounds a little embarrassed as you ask her whether it's really alright for you to take the money. "I'm taking way more than I'm giving you anyway, and it's only thanks to you that I even got to get this money!" She practically forces the bar of gold into your hands. Now, that's certainly not something you ever expected was going to happen to you, to have thousands of dollars worth of gold literally thrust into your hands. With a shrug, you hide the bar inside your luggage and start following after Monica, to head towards the Hotel.

The two of you arrive at the hotel without any further incident. Though Monica is far more on guard than before, and doesn't really talk to you much as you walk to the hotel. Yeah, you'd expect that. Just because she managed to kill that Dead Apostle without much issue, there was a chance that fight could easily have gone a different way. He basically just got incredibly unlucky and ended up standing on top of a manhole cover when he was dealing with somebody with the ability to manipulate metal.

Monica goes to the counter in order to retrieve your room keys, leaving you with some time to yourself in the lobby. There's not really much of interest here other than the other hotel guests. There's a brown haired girl about your age sitting on one of the cushioned benches while she waits for her own parents to finish retrieving their keys. She looks familiar, but you can't quite place if you actually know her or not. She does look quite lonely though. There's also a group of people that seem to be sharing some gossip, but you can't quite hear them from your current seat.

>Go over to the lonely looking girl. Try to cheer her up
>Try to eavesdrop on whatever that group of people are talking about.
>Just wait for Monica to return with the room key.

WhatIsAQM i do not know if it is all right to ask you this at this time but something has been bothering me about our protagonist, the way he sees the world, and the rest of the players opinions of him?

if i am wrong or am just pissing you off by asking just say so but i do not think that our protagonist was ever human in the first place.

i do not think we will be able to make the all fiction reality marble that everyone is talking about, because our nameless protagonist is not from the real world. this world is the real world and the reason our protagonist does not remember his life or his name is because he never had one to begin with. he is a nameless spirit from the void that can see in to multiple timelines and knows secrets it should not.

it is possessing shinjis body both because shinji will always have a bad end as it is his fate therefor he was possessed and overtaken by a monster from the void. and because the spirit wants to use its wisdom of the timelines and it other unknown secrets to interact with the real world and it needs a human body for that.

Seeing as we are probably going to need to compromise between waifus, I suggest we start ranking waifus based on the threat they represent to a harem. Not based on power so much as their personalities.
>E tier (No threat)
Saber, Rider, Arcueid, Ciel, Taiga, Shirou.
>D tier (some caution needed.)
Rin, Satsuki, Medea, Luvia, Aoko.
>C tier (Major caution should be taken.)
Sakura, Monica (probably)
>B tier (Extreme caution needed)
Illya, Touko, gender-flipped Gilgamesh.
>A tier (There's no escape. You belong to me.)
Manaka.
>>
>>4336887
now that i have thought on it some more if i am right about the protagonist being a spirit, monster, or god from the void then i think i know who he is really and what shinji can do as he is possessed by this being. and as i said before if i am being annoying than just tell me to shut up.

as to who the spirit really is i think he is the tribal god of Africa that once controlled and collected all story's in the world until the spider god of Africa tricked him by trapping him in the spiders web and forcing the god of story's to give the world all of its story's back.

as to the power that shinji now has then i think his origin as everyone calls it will ether be story's or reader. as the protagonist has never said that he wrote his own story's in his old life but that he read all of the writer of the fate series works and liked or loved them. but at the same time he has a poor view of the rest of fiction of this time.

evil and uncaring

that may have been going to far i will admit. but at the same time the way we see the world is far to detached and cynical to be healthy or normal for even an isekai protagonist.

and yes i know that is mostly because of our fear of our grand father and the other sociopaths that live in are town but still we may be taking it to far with all the lies we tell to everyone and the fear of being uncovered.

i mean we can tell the red headed hero of justices and swords about what we really are and he wont tell on us.

or maybe are sister. if we tell her are secret and truly trust her it may give her the strength and hope to resist our grand father until we can save her.

I am really looking forward to seeing just how you'll go about getting Illya to like you.
She's probably one of the most difficult heroines to romance on account of her circumstances alone. Nevermind how the canon Shinji's encounter with her goes.
By default any human approaching Illya during the Fifth War except Shirou will be swiftly crushed.
So you'd really best start making a plan if you want it to come to fruition.
I can't find a good picture of Shinji and Illya so have a distraction.

>>
>>4337080
Honestly, I'd be more motivated to come up with a plan if we didn't have a faction trying to go for every single woman who shows up in the story.
Between the rinfags, sakurafags, and guys trying to get with random side character hags, I'm concerned that we'll end up never getting the chance to have a blossoming romance at all; with anyone.
There's also that the only plan I've seen suggested so far for romancing her was rejected completely on grounds of anons not wanting to be manipulative, but I don't see how you could get close to an adorable mass of complexes like Illya without being manipulative.
>>
>>4337196
>>4337178
Honestly I just want the romance pairs that will cause the most conflict as that will be more funny
>>
>>4337196
>but I don't see how you could get close to an adorable mass of complexes like Illya without being manipulative.
Save Kerry. It's literally our best option for an Illya route.
>>
>>4337213
Best option for destroying Illya's character and personality, I think you mean. Not interested. You may as well throw in that you want to get her a body exactly like Irisviel's while you're at it.
>>
>>4337223
She wouldn't see Shirou has a love interest and wouldn't have the mess of complexes that makes her dangerous to interact with. It's literally the only option that will work.

But then again, you sound like she's only a goal for you to achieve then a character you're interested in having Shinji romance.
>>
>>4337227
>She wouldn't see Shirou has a love interest
She sees him as a love interest in Prillya, so I really doubt that.
>wouldn't have the mess of complexes that makes her dangerous to interact with
She wouldn't just be missing her complexes; she practically wouldn't be the same person. You don't completely change someone's life at an early age and expect them to develop into the same person they would've been under radically different circumstances. The idea of bringing her back to Kiritsugu as a child destroys the character of Illyasviel from Fate/Stay Night and replaces her with a new character who just happens to have the same name and looks.
>But then again, you sound like she's only a goal for you to achieve then a character you're interested in having Shinji romance.
I think you're missing a word here. Maybe "more" or "rather". The sentence isn't coherent the way you wrote it; what did you mean exactly?

>Hol' up. What if we got Shiki to death point the curse?

I'm also fairly certain erasing Arthur's dick was a meme idea.

>>4337980
Zouken is tough to permanently erase because he can hide almost anywhere and reform his body after eating one person.
So we should only go after him when we have the ability to sift through all his worms and figure out which one is the core, assuming he hasn't put it in Sakura already.
But if he did, then Shiki should be able to kill him easily without harming Sakura.

He did kill Roa who basically became a spirit, isn't that close enough to being a curse?

aoko seems like the kind of girl that yes she would give kiritsugu a beat down for the things he has done. but after that when she sees that he has changed his life and given up violence as well as taking care of shirou she may decide that his life is worth saving.
>>
You get off your seat and approach the lonely looking girl sitting on the cushioned bench. The people who you had assumed were the girls parents just took the keys from the receptionist and wandered off into the lifts. This hotel is really kind of unnerving. Not because of the design or anything that's happening right now, but because of what you know might become of this place in the future.

"Hi!" You cheerfully greet the sad looking girl who turns to face you. "Are you alright?" You try to assess just what is going on with the girl before you get too involved. It's possible that she's only got a single parent and they've just had to leave her there unattended for a few minutes. It's irresponsible, but not the most terrible thing they could do.

"O-oh!?" The girl seems startled by your sudden appearance. "D-do I know you?"

"I don't think you do..." You say slowly. "I'm from out of town, a city called Fuyuki. My name is Shinji Matou!" You introduce yourself to the girl as it slowly begins to dawn on you just who this shy looking girl is, she's young now, but her appearance and shy demeanor is a match of none other than...!

"I... I'm Satsuki Yumizuka. I'm... I'm from Misaki town." The quite girl introduces herself as none other than the sixth heroine of Tsukihime, the one who never actually got her route and instead died in every single character's route. This girl will likely have a great injustice committed to her in the future, and while the urge to save her from her fate isn't as strong as the urge to save Sakura, it's still very present in your mind at this moment.

"Well, Satsuki-chan. Why do you look so sad?" The girl immediately blushes upon being called a name that would suggest the two of you are good friends, the sadness in her face dissipating almost completely as she tries to hide the embarrassment she's feeling at the use of quite an affectionate name for her by a boy her own age. It's really quite the audacious move, and not one you likely would've gone for if you weren't so certain of your own charisma.

"I'm... I'm not sad! It's just... My father is having some dumb meeting in this hotel with the rest of his company and he brought me along to the hotel because mom is busy. I've been sitting here waiting for him for so long." You doubt that Satsuki has been sitting there for that long, but it's still a cruel thing to do to a ten year old child. She's just sitting there, sadly waiting. Or at least she was before you started talking to her.

"Well, if you're not sad, then why don't we play a little, Satsuki-chan?" You make the offer to the girl with a smile on your face.

"H-huh?" Satsuki looks a little lost at your sudden suggestion to play, it's pretty late, after all, and it's not like a hotel lobby is the best place for two kids to start playing about in.
>>
"Yeah! I mean, there's only two of us, but why don't we play a game of tag?" It's hardly a fair game for the two of you to play, what with your far superior physical ability to the girl, which will likely remain that way for good unless Satsuki ends up becoming a Dead Apostle in this timeline. But you aren't exactly about to go all out against the girl, you wanted to cheer her up after all, and after discovering her true identity, that wish has only compounded into an even stronger desire to see her smile.

"Umm... Alright, I suppose?" Satsuki doesn't sound that convinced by the suggestion to play, but doesn't deny it either. The girl is very shy, after all. The mere fact that a boy walked over to introduce himself to her must be playing havoc on her mind already.

It takes a little more coaxing before Satsuki is actually properly playing along with you, but eventually she's chasing you through the lobby, occasionally catching you when you let her, only for you to begin chasing after her and constantly allowing her to just about get away from you when you get close. The game goes on like this for a good twenty minutes.

At one point, when Satsuki is chasing after you, she trips and almost falls. Only for you to immediately stop fleeing from the girl in order to catch her in your arms. She looks up into your eyes while you hold her in your arms. "You ought to be more careful, Sacchin. I might not be around to stop you from falling next time." You meet her gaze with a smile, while her face goes red as a tomato as she realizes the nickname you just used.

"S-s-s-Sacchin?!" She repeats the nickname you just christened her with in complete surprise. Obviously she wasn't expecting you to suddenly give her a nickname, and almost falls from your arms in apparent shock.

"That's right, I figured I ought to come up with a nickname for you, to help cheer you up!" It's not exactly like you were the one who made the name up though, but still. You hope that you managed to make her a little bit happier

"I... I..." Satsuki starts trying to say something, yet her words appear to have started to fail her as she desperately grasps for a response to your words.

Satsuki is then cut off from talking entirely, as Monica appears in front of the two of you, pointing out a bunch of men in suits as they exit a set of double doors. "Come on Shinji-kun, your new friend's father is done with his meeting now, so you'll have to cut your little game short.

Before her father arrives to take her home, Satsuki manages to muster the confidence to say something "W-wait! Shinji-kun! Will I... Will I ever... Will I ever see you again?" Her voice is shaky, and she sounds a little worried about what the answer might be.

As much as I would like to be her pen pal, I feel that will make us lose the 'enigmatic stranger' vibe we've got going.
This will also set us up to fuck up Shiki or Arc or Ciel murdering her in the future.
Arriving to save her as we said we would.

2 to 3 days out of the year to check up on the Town and it's residence couldn't hurt.

Frequent trips eight hours out and back are going to draw attention. After a couple occurrences, someone is going to wonder what's going on. That being said, it would be good to take at least one to three more out to catch up with anyone we might meet with, just to stay in touch over the years and get a lay of the land. Or transfer student.

I'll back it.

And on the whole "Can Shiki kill concepts?", he can, it just fucks him up. Ryougi gets a pass because she's literally hooked into all of existence so killing an ENTIRE TIMELINE to stop a guy with magic eyes is no problem, pretty sure in the manga it was mentioned that understanding how to kill something with no life at all, ie a rock, chair, a fucking corridor, as a "normal" human causes them to go insane.

our goals are to help as many people as we can anon, its the reason why we're making so many moves to get closer to Sakura and Shirou and why we're trying to figure out how to get as close to Illya as possible. We're a lot like Shirou when you think about it
>>
>>4338368
It's the philosophy of Fate timeline Shirou, so that's a confirmed fact.
Since all the "one girl is more important than any other" anons have different girls they care about, though, it's probably the philosophy we're locked into. The only way to sensibly parse the schizophrenic urges of all the anons into one character is to have that character want to save everyone.

>>
>>4338423
Tons
>>
>>4338423
Yes. 1996 was when flip mobiles first started appearing, they had a price tag of about $1000 each though.
Which is why we'll probably need to buy them for everyone. Good thing Shinji is rich and nobody gives a fuck as long as we don't blow the entire Matou fortune.
>>
>>4338379
even i a guy that has only seen the memes of fate and not watched the anime can tell that many people die in this show for no good reason.
and if we can do something about that we should if for no other reason than we may have the means to do so.
>>
>>4338379
I think the difference here is when Shirou says everyone, he really does mean everyone.
When Shinji says everyone, he means the non-mob characters.
The non-mob characters that he likes.
He's not about to throw himself in front of a truck in order to save a faceless background character he doesn't know.
It's just very very easy for Shinji to care about people thanks to knowing both their past and their future.
In fact, his desire to save others might correlate to just how cruel their own fates are. Sakura for example will be unimaginably miserable under normal circumstances after any ending but HF True.
Illya ends up dead in every route, even if she gets a year or so of life in Fate.
Satsuki ends up not only dead in every route but also ends up getting killed by Shiki in 3/5 of the routes.
So it's not really a wish to save everyone, if anything, I'd say it's a wish to save the doomed from undeserved fates.
Likely having formed as a result of wanting to save himself from his own fates, he wants to save others with the same doomed nature.however people like Bazett and Atrum despite being doomed he cares far less about because they willingly got involved with the war and got themselves killed thanks to their own stupidity.
Kind of ironic how Shinji has those feelings towards others though.

He also understands that as long as Shirou doesn't end up dead ending or messing up the route, or god forbid, Mind of Steeling somehow, that he will manage to attain happiness.
Even if that happiness is bashing his head against a rock so many times that eventually he somehow surpasses True Magic and gets into Avalon.
Sorry EMIYA, looks like you just didn't try hard enough.
His one concern with Shirou is stopping him from actually getting one hit by one of those many many dead ends

Ik some anons hate FGO but they did end up making some art of what Shirou, Rin and Sakura look as at their max potential as a Magus and its genuinely interesting to look at. Apparently Shirou doesn't have to cook himself in order to get to his max potential

That how I see things at least.

Atrum is a piece of shit and Bazett doesn't seem to bad honestly? I feel like we're gonna end up running into her if we stick around Monica and Waver long enough

Bazett isn't a bad person, it's just she willingly entered a grail war and kind of got what was coming to her.
It's funny though, her wish was to save Cu Chulainn from his inevitable fate. So in a way, she's quite similar to you.

She just wants to save Cu based entirely on stories she read about him.

So that is in combination with Shinji as a boy knowing EXACTLY how he turns out in canon plus knowing exactly how things play out for everybody else? Its gotta hit an 8 year old wakame hard, knowing that he becomes a stupid asshole due to his lust for power and recognition, to the point he dies twice and becomes a heartless tumor island once. The knowledge from Isekai Bro basically confirms it for him.

It must be hard for Shinji in this quest, knowing his true nature and character, yet also knowing that for all the metaknowledge and power he is granted he is still that same wakame asshole deep down. Sure the fused soul kinda enables him to break away from that to some extent, but the brief moments of him laughing and indulging himself in power lust and manipulation confirms that Shinji Matou of canon lore is still alive and well - just very heavily tempered and altered by revelations and permanent aid from the outside.

Will you be having this Shinji consciously explore this irreversible state of himself in-quest? Maybe musing about what and who he is after all this time? Maybe as time passes and he hits puberty and critical canon events become more and more closer than ever, he'll have to face the side of him he willfully ignores in favor of survival and future salvation?

You'll just have to see what happens in the future in regards to the state of Shinji's gestalt being.
But yes, while it doesn't show often, Shinji's personality can and does show up sometimes.
