All seven of you take seats at the war room’s holo-table. On display is a three-dimensional hologram of New Gloria. There is one Pangea-like continent, labelled ‘Lazka’, with a marker in the center that reads ‘Fortress Alexandar’, along with several markers dotting the continent, such as ‘Mythlam’, ‘Trydant’, and most intriguing of all— ‘Proto-Hive Prometheus’. Other than the huge Pangea-like continent, there is a smaller landmass on the opposite side of the planet, a long landmass covering much of the equator. It is labelled ‘The Grand Duchy of Cotant’. You can only guess that to be the ‘Grand Duchy’ that Ariana’s family overlooks. Curiously, there is an archipelago far south, closer to the southern pole than it is to ‘Lazka’. It is labelled ‘The Metal Isles’... how unoriginal…

The first to break you out of your deep analysis is Ariana, giving a cute cough, waking your senses.

“Sir Jojo, what is on your mind?”

Suddenly, the entire council looks at you… shit. General Castellan is suppressing a smile, the damn bastard.

“U-umm, I’m a bit unfamiliar with the topography of this world. Could you please brief me, if you c-could be so kind?”

“Sure, Sir Jojo. Before that, let us introduce the whole council, although I am sure you have had the pleasure of meeting us all beforehand, we shall reiterate. Firstly, I am Ariana, the liaison of Cotant to the Kingdom, and the heir-apparent of ‘The Grand Duchy of Cotant’. Now if the others may introduce themselves formally…”

At that, General Castellan speaks.

“I shall continue, I am General Castellan, General of the PDF. I often oversee the defense of the realm, dealing with the more usual threats, such as Ork skirmishers and bandits.”

“I am General Lothar, General of the Royal Guard. As opposed to the PDF, the Royal Guard usually acts as an elite force, often the spearhead of many campaigns. Moreover, when not on campaign, we defend Fortress Alexandar and act as a quick-reaction force, and if need be, an execution force.”

“This one is Arch-magos Vanem. My full title is Arch-magos Technicus. Many secrets of machine-spirits and their holy signals are known to me. Moreover, I am also versed generally in other fields, with minor focus in biologos and archaeos. As the highest ranking member of the Adeptus Mechanicus, I oversee the management of holy machines and give council on how best to transition New Gloria to a more modern state. Working with Treasurer Adams is common as we both work to industrialize this world.”

“Treasurer Adams, at your service. I oversee all monetary affairs and general governance of New Gloria. My job is to translate Governor Lionus’s decrees into effective policy. Moreover, I am often present at trade negotiations in order to better inform our Governor in matters of negotiation. I also translate the requests of the military into official purchases, managing the flow of supply and equipment.”

And finally, the big honcho himself…

“And of course, I am Governor Lionus. I am the highest Noble on New Gloria, with this entire planet being my domain. While I do lead this world itself, I often deal with representatives from the Administratum and other worlds, managing our local politics with our interstellar neighbors. Imperium politics are of course cut-throat, so my attention is often taken up by it.”

Ariana speaks again, noticing your awe at the badass introduction of the entire council. These are the planetary leaders!

“And so, we are all introduced. Onto the planetary orientation for our resident Knight. The largest continent, and the one we are currently on is called ‘Lazka’. It houses a little over one billion residents, with the vast majority living feudal lives, although that is quickly changing, with the cities becoming more modern and dense, with ‘Proto-Hive Prometheus’ housing a little over 35 million residents. The vast majority of Orks reside here, with many notable strongholds in the cold North. Most of Lazka are ‘Crownlands’, directly managed by the Kingdom.”

Interesting…

“Continuing on, my home, ‘The Grand Duchy of Cotant’, resides on the opposite side of New Gloria. The vast majority of Cotant exists on the equator, having a year-round warm temperature. We hope that with the modernization reforms, we can help support Lazka by keeping the food-supply stable, therefore increasing the rate of transition to a more urban lifestyle. Of course, we too are modernizing quickly, much ahead of Lazka, with the miniscule Ork threat there allowing us to develop in relative peace. Moving on…”

A place with year-round warm weather? Sounds pretty damn Mediteranean, maybe you should take a vacation there sometime…

“And lastly, ‘The Metal Isles’ are an Archipelago responsible for over a third of the metal production on New Gloria. Their isolated nature and rich ore deposits mean that they’ve had a long time to develop metal-working infrastructure. Additionally, they have many relics from New Gloria’s founding thousands of years ago. Today, they are mainly used in the metal-working industry. Other than that, they are known for the creation of many mercenary companies. Due to the fact that there is not one family that owns the isles, but rather dozens of merchant republics, wealthy families often send young family members on expeditions to gain prestige and wealth.”

Merchant Republics? Well… at least they’re sort of democratic…

“And that concludes a basic introduction of New Gloria. Now, I believe the Generals and the Governor wish to detail your duties…”

“Yeah, thanks Ariana. That cleared away a lot of my questions, awesome presentation by the way.”

She gets a bit red, are genuine compliments all you need…? Maybe you’re better at this than you thought.

“Y-yes Sir Jojo, it was.”

At that, Governor Lionus speaks, with a great authoritative tone in his voice. He’s been doing this for a long time, really! He has to have! Not even your drill sergeant spoke with such authority…

“Now now, about your employment specifically. The contract specifies four days each week must be in duty of the realm. What this will look like is that, outside of extended campaigns, where you will be paid over-time, either General— or even I— will make requests for your service, four days at a time. Mission details are to be defined by one of us, with you acting as the shift in power, the ever-mobile Knight. Sometimes, you may even be offered command of a detachment of soldiers, if you display aptitude for command.”

“Hmmm, sounds good so far. So, what kind of missions am I going to do?”

At that, he gestures to both Generals. They both acquiesce to the Governor. General Castellan speaks first…

“Ah, the choice will generally be yours, outside of great urgency. I myself offer two prospective missions from the PDF.

The first is the suppression of three growing Ork bandit hordes, which the local forces have had trouble dealing with. You would have command over the 2,000 strong PDF division. It is estimated that the hordes’ strength varies from about 10,000 Orks to 20,000 respectively, each.

The second is the reconnaissance of a minor Ork stronghold that has appeared alarmingly southwards, the closest of the Northern strongholds. The mission would be to simply obtain data on the composition, exact location, and other relevant information. This would be quite dangerous, but could theoretically end without fighting.”

General Castellan pauses, letting his counterpart, General Lothar, speak.

“I aswell offer two missions.

The first is the assassination of the warboss ‘Kunnin Thinka’, who is purported to be dangerously close to ‘Proto-Hive Prometheus’. He has amassed a warband exceeding 50,000 Orks, with notable siege armaments and motorized vehicles. An assassination is preferable to the predicted siege of the Proto-Hive.

The second is the reconnaissance of a very large Ork horde that is making its way down from the northern strongholds. We do not know how many Orks reside in this horde, but we do know that many strongholds have been unified under a new warboss, and now this warboss is heading South to our territories. It would be great to know the upcoming threat before they begin ransacking the countryside and accompanying cities.”

Well… this is a lot to take in…

Governor Lionus breaks you out of your thoughts with a friendly gesture.

“Friend Jojo! Choose wisely, but do know that your help will be appreciated wherever you go. Your status as a Knight makes us feel that you would best be suited in an autonomous role, acting where you believe you work best.”

Shit… what mission do you take?

>Suppressing the Trio of Ork bandit hordes! It should be relatively easy and you’ve never commanded thousands of men before, it should be an interesting change of pace!

>Recon the new Ork stronghold! Intel wins wars! Although don’t let anyone call you a spook…

>Assassination… well maybe you are a spook… Between you and AT, you think you can catch him off guard. Escaping might be a bit difficult though…

>Recon the anticipated large Ork horde, headed by an unknown warboss. A complete unknown, but hey, that’s why they pay you the big bucks…

Gank em and run!
>>
>>4339132
Orks can only run so fast, and even then we can target their vehicles before they reach us. Not only that but we can fire AND more without being as inaccurate as an ork. The next time we engage the orks we'll be at 50% or 75% for our Smart Core, so if anything gets too close we'll now down a couple thousand before making a tactical retreat.
>>
>>4339132
Honestly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we acquire an ork following because of just how much Dakka we can unleash. Just paint our mech green and there we go. For maximum fun fight orks in melee without our mech to show we can also into choppy and smashy as well. The Orks will be convinced that we are the orkiest human to have ever lived. Almost like that one Commissar fellow who became legendary among the greenskins.

I hope it happens if only because I am curious about the effects of the WAGH effect on us if the Orks start believing in us. Maybe we'll grow bigger and stop aging.

...Wait with how dumb orks are we should totally paint our mech green before the assassination and see if we can trick the orks by challening their warboss to a duel.

>>4339240
I dont believe a work of that. Human tech is different from ork tech. So unless you have a source to back up your claim, I call bullshit.
Beside, they dont need to copy us. There are already existing examples of super dakkas. Like twin linked autocannons.

I'm not too sure about the biological knowledge of the Militia, seems like they mostly used robotics. The regeneration process sounds like they can regrow body parts, which isn't all that valuable to the Imperium, as they can vatgrow bodyparts and make effective cybernetics.

Probably don't need a second heart, if you get hit in the heart you've likely got a fucked lung as well. Not sure where'd you put it either, space marines are a lot bigger than a Pilot.

>>
>>4340799
Perhaps nanomachines are the way to go. If they didn't exist in the militia, we could probably try to make our own, and keep in mind that at character creation the Regeneration option also came with the option for natural chameleon cloaking that I think also affected the things we wore. Militia technology has it's own advantages we can browse through later.

> as they can vatgrow bodyparts and make effective cybernetics.
If it's vat grown then it's considered wetware, not cybernetics.

The Imperium has a crazy level of genetic and biological technology. Despite their fall from the DAoT, it has advanced considerably. It's likely that whatever we have in AT's memory isn't anything special compared to them.

The one thing that might be useful is our basic Pilot enhancements. Depending on the required resources, it could be a valuable enhancement for the Royal Guard. Most genemodded soldiers like Gland Warriors aren't suitable for anything more than close quarters fighting. Given that Pilots are mentally stable, it would be a prime investment for many nobles

I meant that they can both grow new body parts and make metal ones. Colonel Schaeffer from the Last Chancers had various body parts replaced with vatgrown or "donor" ones
>>
>>4340864
Not to mention for as effect Gland Warriors are, their shelf life aren't that long considering the strain that their drug fueled implants put them through. I think glad warriors are the ones with the powerfully yet crippling addictive drugs? I think it'd be best to reserve imperium tier body modifications with the royal guards. We can consider that option once we get the facilities. IF we get the facilities to perform medical surgeries. Honesty if they have the funds, they can go seek out a Medica or Vanem.

Better kidneys, better spleen, better/more hearts and lungs. If the Bone Density Augmentation can't get any better then what about lacing the augmented bones with something tough, like Titanium, Plasteel, or adamantium? The space marines do it, but there 's no reason why you can't do it for all your bones.
>>
>>4340902
I'd assumed that the Pilot augmentations were more like the Halo Spartan 4 program, though programmed nanobots might've been used to lace the subject's bones with something. The Militia didn't seem high tech enough to have self replicating nanobots to me, but its been a while since I played
>>
>>4340902
Just lace the bones with ceramite.
>>
What if we make cybernetics to sell to the PDF and Royal Guards? That could net us some brownie points for when we have to submit the 10 sets of war gear for them. They don't have to be super good, just functional enough to bring them back up to par, if not better. We got tons of Ork scrap so we can probably make some.

>>4341008
Why ceramite?
>>
>>4341026
Probably better to focus on the armor sets first, a Feudal world probably isn't looking to give out bionics to their PDF. With a billion people, it's cheaper to just train a new guy

As much as I'd like to help the average soldier, we should focus on equipping a group like the royal guard with Pilot-tier gear and training. Probably not jumppacks, but giving these guys A-Walls would be a massive boost. Hell, some vehicle mounted A-walls that protect line infantry would be amazing
>>
>>4341026
Cause that’s what Space Marines use.
>>
>>4341066
While I agree on prioritizing the Royal Guards first might be a good idea, I'll have to suggest we don't give them Pilot-tier gear. Especially not any A-Walls. I worried that they might sink their fangs in us if we show off too many "old tech' stuff. The training would also not be necessary. They have their own workout methods, and we could better use our time on other such projects as they would only need pilot training only if they had their own titans, which they don't, which would be another bad idea. Making new titans for other people that is.

>>4341067
I checked the wiki and it only mentioned that the bone lacings were "During this time the rib cage will fuse into a solid mass of bullet-proof, interlaced bone plates." There is no mentioning of ceramite involved with the procedure. For as tough and heat absorbing ceramite can be, it's too brittle.
>>
>>4341094
Some kind of hardlight shield would save a lot of lives since these guys are using line warfare. The orks aren't really known for their accuracy, but stopping the hard rounds that reach them would be useful and aren't unheard of to the imperium. It could be played off as the same technology of as imperial knights' ion shields

Ceramite isn't ceramic, it's a fantasy material

https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Ceramite
>Ceramite is a form of heat and shock-resistant ceramic material that is widely used throughout the Imperium of Man.

Ceramics aside I'm worried about the consequences of showing off and giving or selling away certain Militia tech. Once that stuff starts circulating around (and it will), it will draw more unwanted attention to us with all that that will entail. Especially from Vanem. The best we can do for them in terms of physical protection is make sets of Militia high end grade Carapace Armours, except heavier and covering more of the body. I think militia pilot armor is lighter or covers less of the body to retain parkour maneuverability without hindering the wearer too much, while retaining the same if not slightly better levels of resistance against, ballistic, energy, other such weapons. As per the QM's rationale for Pilot armor being good enough to allow soldiers to resist a couple of 20mm rounds before they're turned to paste.

If we make Militia grade armor, make it cover more of the body, and slightly thicker, it might be good enough that General Lothar might start ordering several dozen more. It'll be new enough that we can shill it as master crafted armor, but not too advanced that they'll start yelling "tech heresy".

>>4341145
>right page, comparative skeletal anatomy
>Not only does the Ossmodula produce additional growth factors to increase the size and density of the aspirant's bones but also allows for the absorption of ceramite into the asseous tissue. Ceramite iis a hard and dense material which is introduced into the aspirants diet. This alloy makes the bones much heaviier and far stronger than any normal humans.
I'm glad you pointed that out. That is metal as fuck. Astartes are on some next level bone juice shit. Imagine all their cerimite rich milk they gotta drink.

We can start off with high grade metal or plas steel, and outfit them with a suit underneath to provide some environmental protection. That alone would probably net us a good amount of coin, good will, and future contracts.

I'd assume a our guy is savvy enough and has decent acumen from bartering and not always relying or having money around or in hand, and being a bit more on the poor end of the spectrum would make him money-wise.

That seems like the full over suit for medium to long term hostile environment suit, like space or under water, as they would get rid of the massive bulk once they are in a less hostile environment, but just having the gear to work in any environment as standard gear, even if only for the elites shows the massive doctrinal shift from general offensive to general defensive outlook of the Imperium.

Stormtrooper, Tempestus and Grenadier carapace also comes in voidsealed variants but nothing beyond that, implying except for them most other formations are not expected to go outsider their special home environment or be deployed in a similar one, probably under escort until they reach it.

ok, I have an idea how to cheese it. We need to start combat comewhere on the edge of the horde, charge our auto-aim thingy and retreat. Then just wait for the moment, run in, activale our cheats, snipe the boss and sprint away.
How fast legion can sprint btw? I get the feeling that we have one of the bulkiest and slowest titans out there. Beacuse if we can outrun the fuckton of "motorized vehicles" this horde has, this plan might be invalid

The imperium is definitely sci fi, -probably on the level of star trek or higher- its just that their technology is:
1)progressing incredibly slow thanks to an AI revolt several thousands years ago
2)looks archaic just because

To put it in simple terms, they go for the aesthetics first.

The meme is that the AdMech having a fetish for just about any kind of technology extends to them going nuts over a toaster ("toasters" as representative of tech in general) and are sometimes nicknamed toaster-fuckers or toaster molesters.

As for music, just about anything by Sabaton or Two Steps From Hell.

“I choose the assassination mission, for the Royal Guard!”

At that, General Lothar smiles, while General Castellan has a knowing look. Well, maybe you are a little bit glory-hungry, but you bring home the results!

“Ah, good choice Sir Jorgenson. We all hope for your great success. With this, we can divert valuable soldiers to the North for more strong-hold crushing. It is healthy for a young man to have such great ambition.”

“Hell yeah.”

“Well, I will brief you at the beginning of next week, in three days. With that, you are dismissed from this council meeting.”

“Yes sir!”

And so, you made your way back to the Guest-House. Now, what to do for the next three days?

Sorry guys, for those who liked this quest and engaged frequently.

This was my first quest and was done with little to no planning. I simply started writing and made the world as we went along. I've learned a great deal in how to write quests so far, but I feel that this quest is, by its spontaneous nature, out of scope.

Therefore, I am stopping this quest. I might run a 40k quest in the near future, with a much more engaging outline. I've found myself enjoying 40k as its own isolated community, rather than mashing it together. This quest was made on a whim after playing Titanfall2 and going "Why is there little 40k fiction? And why is there little TF2 fiction?" Thus this was born.

I might run a 40k quest again in the near future, as solely a 40k quest. I like playing around with the idea of Dark Age technology, so it might revolve around that. Right now bouncing ideas, some of which are:
>Newly minted Rogue Trader
>Man from the year 2020 is taken by the warp into a Imperial Guard recruiting station...
>Mechanicus investigating a DaoT space hulk. Avoid ancient superweapons while serving your faction...
>Beta Psyker quest. Everyone, even your dreams, are trying to kill you. Survive.
>Negative Omega quest. You are a severe Pariah. Without control, you rip souls apart. People try to kill you.
>And more.

Again, sorry about this. I'd rather make it honest that I have no idea where I would take this quest right now. And it's getting a bit tiresome to write as this is not really the 'meat' of 40k, but rather just a boring world of it.

I like writing about the underdog guardsman more than the cocky pilot who can do a triple dab on the warboss.

Again, thank you all for your time. If I do run another quest, I might do it on fiction.live , in the safe for work section. While that place is a true hell hole sometimes, it has a live chat and is generally very user-friendly. While I do love the 4chan format, it does not lend itself well to quick-writing.

Anyways, thanks. See you space cowboy.

Once again, OP proves to be an eternal faggot.
>Fabricator, reading with AT, and meeting the guardsmen.

Instead of going directly back to your room, you decide to sit down by the fountain in the courtyard to mull over the next few days leading up to your mission with AT.

What do you want to Fabricate? (takes up 1 day slot [24 hour max])
>Jump kit (1d4 hours)
>10 Full Royal Guard Kits (Write-in what they contain)
>An attachment for Pilot (Write-in)
>An attachment for Titan (Write-in)
>Experimentation (Write-in)
>Anything else?
Costs for aquiring parts and scrap will be totaled after each fabrication is completed.

And secondly, how do we shoot the shit with the guardsmen? (pick 2)
>Join in on physical training
>Join in on shooting drills
>"Who is this commissar guy and how do I get a hat like that?"
>"...Oh hey it's the parasite man, what were the chances?"
>Write-in
>>
>>4343635
We'd be limited to the planet probably most of our lifetime, and there were so many ways we could get rekt by just what we knew or had as our gear.
>>
>>4343636
is this....are you taking over? Well okay then. I guess we're doing this now. You gonna use a trip?

>>
>>4343636
>Jump kit (1d4 hours)
>10 Full Royal Guard Kits (Write-in what they contain)
Armor, head to toes.
Med injector
Railgun?
Targeting system
Speed legs or Jet pack

>"Who is this commissar guy and how do I get a hat like that?"
>"...Oh hey it's the parasite man, what were the chances?"

Any other anons have a idea what the kits should have?
>>
>>4343643
We only had three days, and kitting out 10 full sets of Royal Guards wargear would take some time.
>full body coverage
>environmentally sealed option
>superior grade carapace armor
>Night/Thermal/Heat vision camera commbeads
>Built in helmet radios
>Built in omni-directional microphone
>Basic HUD for sharing visuals and audio with tactical teams
The med-injector is an on off sort of thing. It could be liable to accidentally injecting people with medication when not needed. The railgun is so and so depending on if we get in trouble with the mechanicus. I'd suggest holding off on weapons until we get a good look at imperial standard weaponry.
Targeting systems are way too advanced for them. The Speed legs don't exist unless you mean replacing their legs with running prog cybernetics, and jet packs are something, while cool on paper, would be something very new that they would have to learn how to utilize.
>>
>>4343653
It's my lack of 40k lore showing.

>>4343638
+1 to this than
>>
>>4343638
Yeah, I suppose I should use one.

Also, I'm going to be messing with the dice system a bit. A +70 for both mobility and shooting is kinda high when you factor in bo3, so that's going to change a bit. I'm also going to be running this out my ass, but I'll try to get some more lore put together, and I'll scour back through the 2 prior threads to see what I can salvage. There might be some minor ret-conning, but probably not.
On a different note, I put a max 24 hour time limit on fab, but not a limit to the number of attempted fabrications that can be chosen from. For this situation, I'll be trying out a base 1d4 hours per fab order; however, higher complexity fabrication orders will add to the base time (ie 1d4+1 or 1d4+2), and mass fabrication orders increase maximum hours (ie 1d5+1 or 1d10+3). However, write-ins and experimental fabs are kind of wildcards. There will also be a 1d100+5 bo2 fab quality roll that cannot crit fail on saved schematics. Feel free to add more things you want to fab. Generally, I'll take fab orders with the most votes first and work down until there is no more time for fabrications (in this case, that's 24 hours worth of orders).
Other than that, I'll try to make it work best I can.

Thanks lads, I'll take it into consideration. I'm definitely not going to stay in a bo3 system after the next few voting rolls, but might add (or remove) dice as a measure of competency in various fields. >>
>>4344732
It's basically going to be a non-pilot militia standard kit (but still looks like the royal guard armor) with a slightly better protection than the royal guard carapace, a basic hud, and built-in commsuite. I wasn't sure about adding everything from >>4343643, >>4343653, and >>4343720, as many of those things are probably not in the fab schematics, would require amputation of limbs, need research and experimentation prior to use, might add far more weight than what the guards are used to carrying, and water tight suits tend to cause heat stroke when worn under armor and not swimming. Not to mention most of the other power based options require either high storage batteries or an small internal reactor that don't effectively exist inside the Imperium both in procurement and resourse aquisition yet. I did take the getting example pieces into consideration and it will be part of the write up.
>>4344732
It's a lot of cash, but it's also going off John not having a terribly great idea of pricing planetside yet, but the dice roll and mod were also slightly lower due to the very good charisma roll.
Also no more rolls need to be made, you guys successfully produced a jumpkit and 4 suits of improved royal guard armor.

>Not to mention most of the other power based options require either high storage batteries or an small internal reactor that don't effectively exist inside the Imperium both in procurement and resourse aquisition yet.
The typical Carapace armor uses standard issue power packs to power all the minuscule power based components in the armor, and to migitate the heating issue we can install an AC unit in the armor suits.

The fabricator begins humming along, and spits out the upgraded armors, and a brand-new Jump kit, complete with removable fanny pack addition! Although, at one point the fabricator gave a “lack of cyan” warning, but a good kick got it up and running again.

Now with the armors completed, you notice a very tall, formal and rather buff guy in a trench coat looking around at the people going about their daily business, and dear LORD that is a cool hat. Maybe you could get the fabricator to make one…

You accidentally lock eyes with the man with the cool hat, and his eyes widen.

“YOU!”

He breaks from his regal and poised posture into a full-on sprint, even without a jump kit its pretty impressive how fast he’s covering ground. You didn’t notice this a second ago, but parasite kid was actually hiding behind the trench coat man (who’s looking comparatively better now), and is now being dragged by the wrist towards you.

What do you do?

>Jump into AT and shuffle away as fast as her titan legs can carry you
>Speed-print his hat in the fabricator
> Yell “YOU!” back and start running towards him
>Ignore them and start fiddling with your R101

"FOR YOU" he yells out of a mouth covered by a massive, bushy beard. Now towering over you, glaring down at you with massive, bag-laden eyes, telling you he hasn't slept in a fair bit.

"S-so, uh, can I help you with... something...?"

"I HAVE COME TO DO ONE THING, AND ONE THING ONLY."

"That beiiiing?"

He straightens upright, letting go of the kid's wrist to slam his hand into a very aggressive salute.
"TO THANK YOU, LORD JOJO, FOR HELPING JERREL WITH HIS PARASITE PROBLEM."

"Wot"
>>
>>4352386
"YOU SEE," he continues, unabated by your confusion, "MEDICINE HAS BEEN SCARCE LATELY, AND WITH THE RATIONING, THE MEDICAES DEEMED IT UNNECESSARY TO TRY AND RESTOCK, ALTHOUGH WE HAVE SEVERAL TROOPS AFFLICTED BY THE SAME PARASITE AS JERREL'S"

Jerrel, now recovered after being hoisted along at Mach 3, looks up.

"I still dont know what a 'pair-a-syte' is, but-"

"CONTINUING ON, LORD JOJO, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK WHERE YOU OBTAINED THIS MEDICINE, AS IT IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN OUR USUAL SUPPLY"

What do you say?

The Commissar's beard seems to almost vibrate with his very thoughts, until a little bit lateer he gives hat can almost be described as a "harumphh" of confirmation.

"VERY WELL, LORD JOJO, I SHALL SEE WHAT I CAN DO. YOUR PAYMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED UPON THE DELIVERY OF THE MEDICATIONS."

"Perfect! And might I have your name? "

"ANTAEUS MUOSS BERIVIDAN THE FOURTH, MY FRIEND LORD"

"Antie then?"

Without even giving a response, Antaeus checks his small watch. His eyes widen.

"I FORGOT ABOUT THE LASGUN SHIPMENT!" and bolts off, leaving you and Parasite kid with ringing eardrums.

Taking a look at the kid, he seems to be in a much better state than before. It looks like whatever he's eating is actually staying on him. So, what shall JoJo do next?

"Anyways, about that parasite..."

"Yes sir, the medicae was astonished by its effectiveness, although he did say there was a problem."

"A problem you say?"

"Yeah, it was somethin like...."

Myrmon goes into what he could call "deep thought" before looking up at JoJo again.

"They said a lot of big words, bit I think they were talkin aboutr the parasite being... I think they said 'Not native to New Gloria' and 'long extinct'. That's all I can remember"

"That's... strange... ah well, prolly has nothing to do with me!"

"Of course sir, because you dont have it."

"well, I think i'd better get back to doing... whatever I was doing. See ya around kiddo!"

"Myrmon."

Sweet. Beat that Medica-idiots. What's our current money balance at?

This is only 1 kind of ailment we can fix. I'd suggest spending a shit tone of money in the future for a bulk order of minerals, herbs, and chems, then develop a machine to sort out what you need and how much of it.

Need Advil? Ibuprofen? Steroids? Insulin? We just need time. Thing is that only sounds easier on paper. We'll get to that later.

We also need to make some hotshot lasguns for the royal guards too.

>>4357022
I thought we already did? Wasn't it a simulation pod or something that the MC helped work on?

>>4357133
I wish we had hotshot lasguns to take apart and study but all we got is militia tech and not Imperial.

>>4357206
Ammo types would be a good thing to start with. Too bad we don't have a bolter to study in order to upgrade our guns.

>>4357225
Whatever works. I thought we would have to design new mods from scratch if its not part of the game lore though in order to create more customized stuff.
>>
>>4357228
I mean, i can put them in as options, but in terms of creativity i think yall did a good thing picking pilot intelligence as a bonus, because he would know how to apply it.
>>
>>4357228
>>4357234
Wouldn't basic special ammo types be something that would just be there already? I'm pretty sure the only reason they're not made constantly is that the added complexity takes more time/energy to manufacture, rather than a slug of two or three metals.
>>
>>4357238
Well, what would be the types of ammo you were intending on making? Nothing like EMP rounds or whatnot, as this fabricator is the sort of barebones constructor for isolated operations.
>>
>>4357249
HEAT-FRAG 50mm round for a very special green meanie.
>>
>>4357279
now THAT is something i think i can allow, although you're only going to be able to produce a limited number of single-use magazines. still working on that list. will prolly have it finished by tomorrow
>>
>>4357228
Theres nothing stopping us from making militia grade laser rifle. Remember. Those bad boys can punch holes in titans. If as anything we can borrow some Hotshots from the royal guards for study.

>>4357279
Our Pedator Cannon is chambered for 20mm, not 50mm. Would the 50mm ammo be for a stand alone weapon or what?

>>4357287
Instead of making 50mm's (where would we even put it?), can we make an ammo belt attachment? Cut out the middle man so the Cannon doesn't have to spend every few seconds to eject the drum magazine.
>>
>>4357296
The problem with using Militia laser rifles is its a dead giveaway for Archeotech lasers. Even rogue traders have difficulty getting their hands on that stuff. autoguns would be far better because the Imperium tech for them went to complete shit and they are so insanely common with endless varieties. That way nobody is going to be able to tell for shit. Even the admech would be hard pressed to realize there is something strange about them.

Also I agree about making the ammo belt feed attachment. That is a GREAT idea and simple as fuck modification/upgrade. Thankfully we chose the upgraded fabricator option so we can actually keep up with it.
>>
>>4357287
>>4357296
We only need it for a mission or two, Just house it in a disposable launch tube like a M72 LAW or M202 FLASH, and have it fire with target assist guidance and take out a bozz and its 2iC and dump the tube or bring it back as scrap.
>>
>>4357319
A fair point, but why stop with a 50mm? Why not a tanky mech sized 120mm caliber rifles? That's the standard caliber for tanks ain't it? Why not get something more permanent like shoulder mounted missile pods?
>>
>>4357320
Trade off in weight, portability, range, speed, ease of use, more materials we need to use, and potential loss of tactical mobility.

If you want to scale things up to a big "FUCK YOU EAT THIS" levels of absurd, we may as well make a tomahawk missile or 2 and put rails for launching it on our Titans back like a katyusha rocket and fire it from a distance late at night. Would probably be a bit slow tho.
>>
>>4357320
Also, bigger is not necessarily better when we can make smaller munitions more powerful without the waste in mass and materials or bulkiness.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzliqFzK36E
>>
>>4357325
>>4357328
So make the railgun from that sniper mech?
>>
>>4357320

>>
>>4357335
https://titanfall.fandom.com/wiki/PR-01_Plasma_Railgun
This thing? This is the gun that Northstar uses. It's either this or spend the time to develop a new gun.

Beyond making a titan sniper rifle, why not stick with quantity over accuracy? Just throw more bullets in the air.
>>
>>4357325
>>4357335
Hold on. Hold on I only just remembered something about the Predator Cannon
>The Power Shot can also be fired from the cannon, firing all eight barrels at once in a burst. Like the spread for long/ short range, the Power Shot will fire in a shotgun blast capable of insta-killing infantry caught in its wake in short-range mode, and fire more like a sniper in long-range mode, doing similar damage to Northstar's Plasma Railgun.
Do we really need to make a disposable 50mm HE gun when the Powershot already does that?
>>
>>4357343
We don't need a new gun.
HEAT/HEAP munitions are for targeting the Monstrous Units and Heavy Vehicles, HE-Frag to smother Infantry and Soft Mechanized, and if we come across especially soft targets we could probably use frangible/segmented rounds. Other than that there are simple AP rounds, which are probably what we're running, Incendiaries, and Tracers which I feel no need for in any form while in AT.
I know a worrying amount about Firearms and Theoretical Energy Weapon Systems.
>>
>>4357447
HEAT/HEAP 20mm munitions combined with the Power Shot sounds like the way to go.

I dunno if we can make one in such short time, I was thinking something like a quick use tube like a mortar or rocket tube to augment our firepower for our short mission.

We can use to to augment our punches if we get into melee range, and punch something and launch a explosive mortar at its face and watch it explode at the same time.
>>
>>4357479
Like I said, we don't need it. If we're going to make an addition to AT then I'd prefer something like the shoulder mounted missile pod, or that permanent linkage between the manufacturer and the magazine.
>>
>>4357479
We really dont need a 50mm disposable "one and done" boom tube if it's not going to be shoulder mounted.

So I guess we're going to research High Explosive ammunition? That's my vote now.
>>

I'm still sticking with the belt feed and special munitions votes. That will be incredibly helpful. Especially since we got the fabricator so we can really go crazy with it.

I'm looking forward to reverse engineering a hotshot lasgun and a las cannon so we can figure out how to create a gatling laser. I'll admit I just wanna shoot a lot of lasers really fast. A promethium flamer upgrade to titanfall flamer would also be fun.
>>
>>4358603
>Upscaled Scorch Titan but with prometium powers
That's too powerful anon. You'll attract all the Salamander space marines.

The gatling laser idea smells iffy to me. We already have a bottomless autocannon. Why go for lasers if we didn't pick Ion from the beginning? We could just mount a couple of Multilasers on the back?
>>
>>4358529

>>
>>4358625
I'll let this sit for a while if you all have questions for me, but in about 15 minutes i'm posting the list of mods
>>
>>4358618
Technically our current ammo requires materials to use while relying upon lasers would only cost energy. Its mostly my idea for backup weapon if we run low on materials to scrap into ammo.

If you think a Scorch flamethrower upgraded with promethium is insane just wait till we reverse engineer a bolter to upgrade our predator cannon with.
>>
>>4358631
Complex manufacturing takes more time and energy, gyrojet ammo is HELLA complex and finicky. Promethium HE-Incin. rounds sounds like fun though.
>>
>>4358631
As far as I can tell our fabricator and I think the Titan itself generates all the ammo. It might explain the Smart Core mode with it's temp. I don't question it. It was something the first QM thought up. Else where would we keep all the ammo?

>AT's Current setup: 6 mod slots, 4 weapon slots.
Are the shield and knife mods for the Titan or Pilot?
Are the shield Hard Lights independent from the Predator Cannon's Gun Shield, or is it the gun Shield?
What is the HF knife?

Could we attach an up-scaled Jump Kit to AT so she can jump or run faster/longer?

1.These are all titan mods
2. These are independent shields. Basically along the left arm there's a big metal chunk there to deflect and block boolets
3. High frequency knife. vibrates super fast to cut through basically everything. Knife go vrrr, enemies go ouch. Pic related

Through some research you could probably modify AT's dash kit to add some boosters that can increase average movement speed

I see...

No point to taking the Flare/chaff system yet since orks rely on Grott Guided targeting systems

i will say this now, due to the rather basic nature of the current fabricator some options will be locked until research for the specific fabricators are done
>>
>>4358714
Didn’t we take the advanced fabricator?
>>
>>4358741
Just the modded one, which is used to make spare parts and such, with the mortar being the biggest thing you can make so far. You can, however, make upgrades to the modded fabricator to make an advanced modded fabricator
>>
>>4358750
I was hoping for something more "high velocity" But I guess we need to make baby steps.

Maybe we can make it airburst into smaller Armor piercing cluster bomb spikes.
>>
>>4358750
I'm gonna let yall think up stuff to make, tomorrow is the perfect day for the combat mission as I have literally nothing to do. Get yer builds ready and once we agree on how to upgrade AT we can get to blastin in short order

I do have a question about the reactive armour, reactive armour in modern parlance is a series of explosive segments designed to counter HEAT munitions and other explosive armor penetrators. What is the reactive armour here?

Alright, so a belt feed option would remove reloading and times to swap over to another type of ammo for the Predator at a cost of 1 mod slot and 450 scrap. I'd give it around 1d4 hours to complete

The fabricator hums along, building these upgrades from whatever materials you shove in its gullet. After a while watching the construction process gets a bit boring, so, might as well take a little bit to listen to those audiobooks that AT so wonderfully recorded. As an added bonus, she even copied the pictures to display on the helmet display for you!

Which book would you like to read?
>‘The Legend of Primarch Guilliman’, volume four, by Rodrik Blackcast
>‘The Imperium’s Many Worlds and You’ version two-hundred and sixty-three, updated by Lord Quinton of Noveuro

>‘New Gloria, the backwater of the century’, by an expunged author

“Alright, so, AT, lemme get this straight.”

“Yes sir?”

“This Guilliman guy, has, apparently, according to this book” he gestures to his helmet’s earpiece. “fought in space”

“Yes”

“With no helmet on, in a sheer vacuum”

“That is correct”

“For apparently SEVERAL hours”

“That is what the book says, yes sir”

“…”

“And YES it is a bad idea for us to try doing the same thing sir”

“Damnit…”

John leaned back in his seat, taking a moment to really let the info he had gained sink into his skull. Space fighting wasn’t exactly new to him, in fact he once used AT as a projectile to launch out of a depressurized hangar bay to reach the IMC frigate that they were trying to board. It was simple really, since AT did most of the calculations, but… to consider fighting in space with no titan… with no helmet at all for that matter…

“Hey AT?”

“Yes sir?”

“What the hell kind of universe did we drop into that people like this are needed to fight for humanity? Be honest with me here.”

“If you want honesty sir? I’m not sure this is the worst that this universe has yet to offer.”

“That… kinda scares me, so I think ill just… sleep it off. Good night AT”

“Good night sir”

The roar of the engines from the Arvus Lighter slowly roused you from your slumber, as they shook AT’s chassis. You had decided to take a nap while you were en-route to your target. Wait, shit, was the pilot saying something?

“...and that’s the briefing, any questions?”

What should you say?

>What was that? I was napping.

>Where am I going again?

>Are we at my requested altitude?

>What's this guy's fortifications like?

>What was the name of this big green guy again?

>>What's this guy's fortifications like?

"Sooo, what are this guy's fortifications again? my titan is strong but not invincible."

"Well, he's embedded a fortress into a crevice in the rocks, if you could call it a fortress. He relies mostly on infantry to defend it, but he has multiple hangars that he uses to store his 'meks' as he calls them, so be careful about those."
>>

"So did we make it up to my requested height? I really want to get some velocity on this one!"
"Uh... Yes sir, sadly this thing can only carry you up to 30,000 feet with that much weight but... yeah, we're holding at your requested height (somehow)."

"Hrm... alrighty then, this sounds good pilot!"\

"Okay then... but M'Lord?"

"Yes pilot?"

"Uh, the Avernius desert's plateaus go ludicrously high, around 19-22,000 feet at their highest. You sure this is a good idea?"

"Yeah! If i'm lucky i can get a sick ricochet on the way down!"

"Right... uh, you have any more questions?"

"Nah, i got it! just gotta go kill this sucker! Easy peasy!"
>>
>>4361742
AT blinks online slowly, saying

"Don't worry sir, i recorded it and made a few bullet points for you, we can review on the way down and the march over."

"Ah, AT, what would i do without you..."

"Fall from 30,000 feet and turn to paste, dear."

"You're creepy and caring, you know that, right?"
>>
>>4361783
The pilot of the lighter fades back in again, as you can see the billowing smoke from the ork stronghold billowing into the sky on the outer hull's camera.

"Hey, uh, M'Lord, we're over the drop point, and I know you were serious about this, but, uh, are you really REALLY sure you wanna be doing this?"

What is your response?

>"I've done worse"

>"Yeah, you're right, care to join me on the way down?"

>"Meh"

I've flown some strange ass people around, ya'know? Just some real weirdos, living life with around 9 screws loose. But his guy... before he dropped, he said something to his knight and... this, SONG, started playing over the comms. I couldn't even describe it, but what happened next knew that my assignment to him as a transport for his operations was, and I quote, *ahem*

"Hehe terminal velocity go whoosh"

I knew things would only get better from the on.
..................................................................

You thumbed the release button. The hangar door opened up beneath you, and you were away. what was once the dull thrumming of engines soon became the sound of air ripping around AT as her chassis tore through the atmosphere, occasionally dashing in mid-air to angle herself in a proper way. This Sheer velocity was what pilots lived for. This speed, power, this unadulterated adrenaline of the drop. What could be said, this job kickstarts the heart from everyday monotony into anticipation for combat in mere seconds. God DAMN this was what to be thankful for.

The plateaus came up quicker than expected, one sheer rock face whizzing by at immense speeds after another. AT had to slide down one for a few seconds to angle herself better, a B-hopping titan flying downwards at almost 200 km/h. After a while of sick tricks, now came the fun part. The landing. This would be your first Titanfall on New Gloria. Even if no-one was around, you wouldn't disappoint the militia with some pussy-ass landing, no, you would give them the Jorgenson special.

Make it count

Well fuckers, the lad is back. He's restarting the quest, and lo and behold he knows what he's gonna do now. And this is where i'm getting off. I learned a lot of things and i know i gave you endless amounts of frustration with my weird-ass posting times. I honestly became stand-in QM because I didn't want this to die. I liked the premise, came up with a plan, and now i'm here. But now that he's back that really defeats the purpose of me "trying to keep it alive" huh?

Now if y'all excuse me, i'm gonna go back to trying to beat viper on master difficulty with Scorch.

See yall around
