Last time, you gathered up all the slaves with the help of Carol’s power after earning her trust and finally started to make your move to free the girls! The current plan is to take the slaves down the floors and out of the building so you can get them all out of here with the Cult’s personal buses. The rest of your team is currently in charge of creating the distraction while you all are meant to simply walk out of here, you’re a little worried for them but now’s their time to shine so you’ll trust them with this!

“Okay, the distraction team has deployed!” Scarlet announces. “You have 20 minutes before things will start to get more dangerous for them, so make it count!”

“Good to hear, then we’ll be moving out now.” This is what everything’s been leading up to!

“Just please try to stay safe out there, alright?” The redhead is worried about you.

“Don’t worry, I will.” And you mean it, you have a lot of people putting their trust in you for this and you don’t want to disappoint. “See you soon. Over and out, Bubble-Base.”

“It’s Bubbles! I mean - Ugh! Geez, take this seriously!” Scarlet very much dislikes that, you couldn’t be happier. “Over and out...”

And, sure enough, the call disconnects. You take a second to get rid of your cheeky grin and don a serious face, it’s now or never. You approach the other group that you’ll be in charge of leading today.

“The distraction is currently underway, be ready.” You say as you tuck your phone back into your pocket.

Vivienne nods and Carol groans. You hope that she doesn’t have to take too many breaks...

You get the group back in the same formation as last time; you, Carol, and Vivienne acting as a guiding line with several rows of girls grabbing the person in front’s shoulders. Emily and your assistant’s lines are right behind you. Oh, and Genesis’ too. You also found her and assured B-WORM that she was safe, how could you forget about her so easily... Still, you’re happy for the cosplayer. With everyone back under your invisibility veil, it’s just a matter of time to move on.

You are currently at the entrance of floor 6, also known as the ‘Bernie Zone’ by you and you alone. There is a man waiting outside of Ammirati’s office, which could potentially mean Ammirati is inside. Or not. This place makes no sense.

The cultist waiting outside grabs his phone out of his robes, while listening to the call his body turns white, then he quickly sprints inside the office. Seconds passed, and you see the same cultist and another one coming out of the room and sprinting away towards the stairs – behind them, a composed, almost dispassionate Ammirati comes out of the room. He’s surely taking his time to follow them, walking as fast a man in an art gallery. Is this the result of your team’s doing?

You feel both Carol and Vivienne clenching onto you, you imagine for different reasons…

What do you do?!

Votes:

Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical and ignores all other rolls! In the same vein, rolling 1 means a critical failure (only for Very Hard rolls and above).

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

You pull both of the girls simultaneously, with this signal Carol will stop singing and they will all retreat back to safety. You’ll go for broke in one attempt to knock Ammirati out! Without looking back, you feel the piercing glance of both Vivienne and Carol like a shiver down your spine, both of them probably tried to stop you and your unnecessarily daring move, but it’s too late now.

“C’mon, partner. This is it.” Philonune is loving every second of this. It’s always refreshing to you to know someone is always backing up your plans, no matter how unprompted they are.

As you silently start approaching him as fast as your body is able to, the clueless cult leader takes his phone out of his pocket, he drags his finger through his contact list and phones someone. Then he looks directly at you…

“There you are.” Ammirati smiles.

“Don’t hesitate!” Philonune reminds you to stay focused!

But not even for one second was there a doubt in your mind, you move past him.

“Vivi, I was looking for you, dear!” Ammirati opens his arms as if he’s going to hug Vivienne. Wait, she followed you?! You don’t have time to look back! In fact, Ammirati inadvertently poke you with the tip of his fingers. “Huh?” He noticed, he even took a glimpse of the carpet down below moving strangely.

Too bad it’s already too late! You’re behind him! You unleash the Secret Spice Knock-out Technique that doesn’t cause Brain Damage! You don’t care even if he does end up having some! You just smack him!

Ha…!” Ammirati laughed it off?! He’s on his knees! You just smack him again for good measure!

He drops down like a sack of bricks! It worked! Your great move actually worked! Oh god, this whole thing feels like a waste of time if you could’ve just done this earlier…

“He’s out...?!” Carol exclaims, completely dumbfounded by what just happened. She’s peeking down from the floor upwards.

Shhh!” You immediately tell her to shut the fuck up. You realize Vivienne was standing closer to the scene of the crime than you originally thought.

“I thought I could distract him…” Vivienne’s mouth is open from what she just saw. She’s not moving.

Is he really out?!” Carol drops down from the stairs in excitement and runs towards Ammirati’s body just to check him out, leaving all the slaves by themselves. Good thing Emily is up there… You turn yourself visible. “Bernie! You there, buddy? Hello…?” Carol should be gently slapping him on the cheek, but she’s blasting him like a punching bag. “Ha… Ha… You did it!” Carol grabs your shoulders with a smile from ear to ear. You see her blue flame turn dark.

Vivienne gets closer, still in shock. She makes her magic mirror appear.

“Vivi, what are you doing?” Carol notices that something is wrong.

Let’s get rid of him for good.” Vivienne has murderous intent.

“I… Uhm….” Carol doesn’t know what to say.

What do you do?

>“We have a deal, Vivienne. You can kill him on your own time.” You’re not going to help with murder.

“Let’s take him with us. I have a way to take his flame.” You interrupt whatever Vivienne is planning on doing.

“This is the best chance we’ll ever get to off him, I won’t waste it now.” Vivienne gives you her patented piercing glare.

“These girls deserve a chance to see him punished when they can fully appreciate it.” You stand your ground. “Don’t tell me you want to take over the church now?”

“Y-You don’t want this dump, Vivi. Believe me, I have something way better arranged!” Carol seems to be on your side in this issue. “Forget all that even! If you kill Bernie the monster man is going to go loose! He’s under his control, but you know what happens when there’s no flame…”

“…………………………Prepare your men for the deed. Getting rid of his flame is as important as saving these women, understood?” Vivienne wants to make another deal. That’s not how it works. “I’ll bring the women here.” Vivienne steps away, not even waiting for your response. You don’t know if it was your words or Carol’s who convinced her.

“Right, right.” You pull out your phone and make a call…

To say that Scarlet was flabbergasted would be an understatement, Giorsal sounded shocked as well – you also heard Xavi say ‘nice’. Anyway, the van is going to be waiting outside of the cult garage with Giorsal waiting for the removal – she refused to let this opportunity go so she was willing to put herself into a dangerous position!

Everyone is set up once again here on Floor 6! Emily congratulated you on your master stroke. Carol looks far more relaxed now than you have ever seen her, and Vivienne will be the one carrying Ammirati. Time to turn invi—…!

“…” There is one cultist man in the way, he froze when he realized you were all here.

“…” For some reason, you feel like you’re in charge here.

“Hey, buddy, I think you might want to take the rest of the day off. You’re looking a little bushed, y’know?” You try to come off as a good natured man.

“I will, sir. If you'll excuse me.” He bows down his head then runs away down the steps.

“Why didn’t you knock him out? He’s totally going to rat us out.” Carol isn’t happy with your decision.

“To whom?” You raise an eyebrow.

“…You have a point there. Everyone important is out I think.” Carol admits defeats with ease.

“I don’t want to beat up anyone unless I absolutely have to anyway.” You add.

“He looked thankful that you gave him a chance to run, so it was the best deal for everyone involved. Very efficient.” Emily points out.

“Efficient? We have wasted our time with him the same way we are with this meaningless chatter, we have a ticking bomb on our backs. Every second counts. Let’s get out of here.” Vivienne wants you to move on.

After Vivienne’s comments, you turn everyone invisible again with Carol’s help! You all walk down the stairs quickly, throwing some caution out of the window now that you don’t think there is another big threat on the horizon; it doesn’t mean you’re being specially sloppy, you know these random zealots can and will be annoying to deal with, and there is a chance someone else you didn’t take into account might show up, but you attribute this change of pace to the anxiousness of getting closer to your objective or something.

You go down the archive floor without taking a second look, it wasn’t even that interesting to begin with. Floor 3 and 4 were completely ignored as well, you don’t think there is anything important in them since there is a big chance random people can sneak up inside here. A flimsy theory, but it’s not the time to be curious.

Now you’re about to enter Floor 2, where every single cultist has access to. Now your precaution measures are back as you begin to slowly take your time moving forward. For the most part, Floor 2 is almost completely empty, but you can hear a loud ruckus coming down from below. You make the effort to bring everyone down the stairs yet again…

As soon as you get a glance at Floor 1 you stop everyone from moving,

The spectacle is quite disheartening to watch in a way, there are people running around aimlessly, begging for help or just in a complete state of panic! Loud screeches are heard around like a bomb was set off! Pure chaos! You know why the big commotion was created, but the effects on this place greatly surpassed your expectations. The few Clerics you see around are trying to get a hold of the less important members, but they seem to be ignored at large. The fact that almost all of the important members are out probably adds more to the mayhem you’re witnessing than the actual distraction outside.

What makes it bad for you all is that there is no way you can walk around without any of them bumping into the large group of people you’re guiding. If you somehow break the chain thanks to that, the invisibility will be off and you don’t really have the mental capacity right now to foresee what the consequences would be since you’re too busy coming up with an idea to somehow escape through here…

What do you do?

Taking for granted the fact that Carol is a professional and won’t stop singing if you start talking, you nudge Vivienne to get her attention trying not to do the usual signal to step back, so she doesn’t get the wrong idea. There is enough ruckus that you don’t think there is going to be an issue if you make some noise.

“…Vivienne.” You have to whisper loudly since she didn’t respond. Again, no response. “Okay, I’m gonna assume you’re listening to me. Could you tell everyone to go back to the cabins as a safety measure or something? I’m sure they’ll recognize your voice.”

Vivienne doesn’t really acknowledge your request in any way, but you’ll wait for her to improvise something. But now that you think about it, she shouldn’t, you need to know what she’s about to do or else you won’t be able to react properly!

Members of the Cult of Chernobog, this is your Chief of Security Vivienne Neuville, please stay calm and return to your dormitory. I repeat, please stay calm and return to your dormitory.” Vivienne shouts so loudly that the effects of the invisibility stopped working for a second or two because you were unable to hear Carol, in other words, she almost made you deaf. You’re going to leave your valid complaints for later though.

Vivienne repeats her message a couple of times making the zealots rush outside the building like they were escaping a fire, leaving the path all-clear after a couple of minutes. You descend down the stairs and onto the exit to the right.

From where you are, you can see what’s left of the main entrance, it looks like some wrecking ball took it down or something! Whatever distraction your team managed to cook up, it was quite tasty.

You bring the large group of people to the northwest section of the Dark Church, the area Vivienne said the garage is. You hope that that’s close to the cabins of that sector, but that’s wishful thinking!

In this case, some wishes turn to reality! You reach the humongous wall separating you from freedom and it’s a little apart from where a group of the cultists is running to hide. For all the dumb ways they act, they are disciplined enough to follow and make the others follow the orders from their higher-ups. You should stop praising their ant antics, you need to bring this wall down.

But how…?

What do you do?!

[Meanwhile, near the Gate.]

B-WORM’s plan went ahead just as planned, he dispatched his metallic spheres onto the walls of the gate, one on the upper part of the wall and another near the ground. He later found out he could start up his ability any moment he wanted, but the longer he makes the charged objects wait in their place, the less power they have. So he needed to be fast and precise.

When they all were set up he pulled the trigger! The gravity pull came out from the spheres and was strong enough to make the walls bend sideways, ultimately making them collapse onto the ground after a few seconds of activation. A much better effect than even the one he was expecting, there was a little worry that the multiple gravitational pulls would cancel each other, but they worked remarkably well. Maybe his power had much more potential than he had originally given it credit for.

During this whole set up, Honey Bunny and Double Dick were causing another distraction, one to bring the guards away from the gate, so they don’t injure anyone unnecessarily. They still need to taunt everyone until they receive a signal from Bubbles, the one that will mean they have secured the girls and the escape route.

Currently, B-WORM just rejoined Honey Bunny and Double Dick. They all are inside Honey Bunny’s entity’s pouch, she was able to master her entity to make it all come out – it’s something like a bunny kangaroo beast of some kind that looks straight out of a cartoon. It’s big enough for those three to fit in, and it’s a little faster than just running around! So it’s a decent escape option.

“Hard to believe this is our best escape option with the van gone.” B-WORM is not used to being on the animal, he was hoping for something a little cooler. “It’s remarkable how much you improved in a couple of hours, Honey Bunny.”

“It would be way better if we didn’t bounce as much…” Double Dick has been complaining the whole way.

“Get used to it already!” Honey Bunny tries to control her marsupial beast.

“You’re the one looking sickish, not me.” Richard shrugs.

“You’re the one with a sickish attitude, not me, Dick Dick.” Aurora barks back, tired of Richard’s drivel.

“Do you think before talking? What you just said made no sense.” Richard raises an eyebrow.

“Shut up, you twerp! I’m under pressure! I’m doing my best!” Aurora cries her heart out.

“And it’s barely enough...” Richard shakes his head.

“Why are you so mean?!” Aurora doesn’t get it. “I do better with positive reinforcement or something!”

“You seem to be doing better while distracted.” Richard pretends he’s not doing this for his own entertainment.
>>
>>4366818

“Indeed, you’ll have to do better, Honey Bunny.” B-WORM chimes in.

“N-Not you too!” Aurora wants a break from them.

“I have no intention to pressure you, but they are using bikes to chase after us, and they’re moving fast.” B-WORM is looking behind.

“I’ll take care of them…” Richard looks behind too and uses his ability to make the bikes act erratically, causing the cultists to fall down from them. “This is child’s play.”

“Good. But they are like cockroaches, they just keep coming.” B-WORM keeps looking back to give more information to Aurora. And yes, another group of cultists are running out of the destroyed gates just to stop them. The three of them wonder why these guys don’t just give up.

“For how long do we have to move in circles…?” Aurora wants an answer.

“For as long as the others need.” B-WORM gives the final sentence.

They are still fine so far… But how long do they have?!

You pull Vivienne’s arm to make everyone stand back, you don’t care too much even if you’re visible at this point. There isn’t anything that can really stop you anymore, unless you get really really unfortunate.

“Everyone but Carol stand back.” You confirm your intentions. “I’ll bring this wall down.”

You turn the cloak off on everyone, and look at Vivienne and Emily intensively, everyone steps back for safety as you bring out your partner to actually do something that isn’t related to his ability. You make your partner use his stupidly long spear to make three precise slices on the wall… That spear wasn’t this long before! Then, a second later, the immaculate piece of the wall collapses onto the other side! The sound the fall made was thunderous, as it made the ground below shake, making some of the random cultists take a look at what’s going on – but none of them were valiant enough to move closer. The escape route is open and that’s all that matters!

“Cool…” An impressed Carol says as she grabs her throat, she’s tired. As soon as she stopped singing, Philonune’s comically large spear turns back to normal. “S-Sorry, I can’t keep going…” Carol looks exhausted. She most likely never used her ability this much. You’re honestly surprised that she pushed herself this hard.

“It’s fine, let’s go!” You tell every single person behind you. The group of girls led by Emily go through the hole first, You, Carol and Vivienne are overseeing everyone going through the hole. As for the other cultists, Vivienne stares at them with her usual intensity to make them go on their way, intimidation is always a nice tactic.

At the other side of the wall there is a little alleyway that’s going to be your escape route, you can see far enough to catch sight of the streets, but nothing else in clear view.

“Here!” Vivienne throws Ammirati at you, you use Philonune to grab him. “I’ll get the buses ready, you need to take Ammirati’s flame now. You hear me?”

“We’re splitting up?!” The tired Carol wonders.

You hear me?!” Vivienne ignores the idol.

“Aye, aye, captain!” You salute Vivienne as you make Philonune drop Ammirati’s body on your shoulder. He’s kind of heavy.

“Vivi, carry me. I’m tired.” Carol pretends to faint on Vivienne’s shoulder.

“……………No.” Vivienne rejects the idea.

“You’re the worst.” You hear Carol complain one last time before finally splitting up from those two. You’re not going to admit it in front of them, but it was honestly kind of fun to you.

As you pass the group of girls, you see Emily in front, you lock eyes with her and point at Ammirati’s body, then away. Emily nods in response and waves good-bye again. You’re glad that she understood you’re going to take care of business.

You stand in the middle of the street looking around for the van, or any vehicle for that matter, why are the streets so empty. A chill comes down your spine as you seem to realize the temperature is going lower for no reason, you’re even able to see your breath. You focus again on what you need to do and realize you better call them instead of standing here doing nothing. You cross to the other side of the street, try to take your phone out but it slips out of your fingers – you bring your partner out just to grab it back.

In the shortest call of your life, you just plead to Bubbles to come over behind the church like you agreed upon. You wanted to ask where the hell they were, but you don’t care about that right now. Immediately as you hang up, the van turns up seemingly out of nowhere, the door violently opens. Oh no, your poor van… Anyway, Scarlet and Giorsal are here!

Aaaah! You really captured him?!” Giorsal is dumbfounded that you actually managed to do this.

“I told you that he wouldn’t lie to us! He’s just that cool!” Scarlet reprimands the judge.

“Well, I—”

“Sorry, but can we deal with this first?!” You interrupt Giorsal before she can say anything stupid. You approach the van and drop Ammirati’s body inside. “C’mon, Cloud Head! Do it!”

“Don’t be so rash, Phil Noon! And it’s actually Queen Bee.” Giorsal says as she checks Ammirati’s body, the last part she murmurs. Ethempress makes her appearance as well.

“Is that really him?” Xavi couldn’t contain his curiosity and turns back to see. “Huh, he’s smaller than I thought.” Not exactly the most fit person to call someone small...

“I thought you met him.” You raise an eyebrow.

“I saw him on a podium at best.” Xavi shrugs.

“Could you please look ahead, Mr. Driver? We need to be ready to move!” Giorsal complains.

“What’s the point of a codename if everyone just calls me Driver…?” Xavi turns around, unamused.

“I’m ready! Absolutely nothing can stop this process, nothing. Do I make myself clear?” Queen Bee turns to everyone for one last check.

“Just do it, Queen Bee! He’s going to wake up!” Scarlet urges Queen Bee to move on.

“I’ve done this multiple times, don’t rush me, gosh!” Giorsal gets her hands on the blue flame on Ammirati’s shoulder, Ethempress moves to her side and helps her out. Huh, it’s different from the way Athelone does it.

But that doesn’t mean it’s yielding better results, they are majorly struggling to take it out! This feels familiar somehow.

Nggh…! This is quite the jimmy jam…!” Giorsal is doing everything she can to pull it out, but it’s struggling.

Y-YOu WoN’T SEparATE US…!” A voice comes out of the unconscious Ammirati. Is that… his entity?! Is that Chernobog?! “WE’re DestINED to bE TOGEther! Our LOVE is inVINCIBLE!

“I would like to… disagree!” Giorsal looks like she’s lifting weights.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!” Chernobog is not going down this easily!

Maybe you could distract him?

>“There are more fishes in the sea, y’know?” Joke around to distract the demon.
>“Hey, listen! Look over here!” Show him your phone for absolutely no reason! Okay, it has its eyes shut, but maybe it’s just that stupid!

You’re going to let Giorsal handle it, it’s her moment after all! Every single member of the team has contributed something to this! That’s what teamwork is all about! You can’t just take that away from her like that!

Maybe you are a dork...

StOP tOUCHING Me, you LITTLE BraT! Chernobog is now relying on petty insults. Wait, petty insults?!

“I-I’m not a little brat!” Giorsal is losing concentration.

YEAH, You’RE RigHT, A BrAT Can AT LEAST GROW OUT OF it! YOu’Re FORever A FLaT BITCH!” Oh no, Chernobog found out Giorsal’s weakness! Or maybe he already knew it or something.

“…” Giorsal is not moving. Uh-oh…

“What’s going on?” Scarlet is confused. Oh right, she can’t see.

“The ghost man is insulting Giorsal.” You explain.

“Just ignore him, Queen Bee!” Scarlet shouts!

“Yeah, Queen Bee. Don’t listen to his petty insults!” You can’t believe this is working on Giorsal again.

“R-Right…” Giorsal is holding back the tears but remains resolute.

FLAT BITCH, FLAT BITCH, FLAT BITCH! NOBODY WILL EVER LOVE YOU, ‘CAUSE YOU’RE A FLAT BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH! I BET NOBODY HAS EVEN KISSED YOU!” Chernobog cannot be stopped.

“…!” Giorsal freezes again. This is really getting to her...

YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE NOBODY, LISTEN TO ME, NOOOOOOBODY, LIKES, FLAT BITCHEEEEEEEEES! HAHAHAHAHAHA!” Chernobog cracks Giorsal with one final blow! Oh f—

“Okie Dokie!” Giorsal snaps out of it and pulls the flame with all her might! And since it was distracted, it came out with ease!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOoOOOOooooooooooo…..!” That was Chernobog’s last scream! You all did it! Ethempress puts the large blue flame inside her beehive box!

“…Did she do it?” Scarlet wants confirmation. She looks entirely lost with the situation.

“Yeah, she did...” You breathe a sigh of relief. “Good job, Giorsal, you’re the best.” You congratulate the judge. She actually managed to conquer her insecurities this time!

“Yes! Wooo!” Scarlet hugs you in celebration!

“Are you okay there…?” Xavi is worried because Giorsal hasn’t moved yet.

Sniff*… I’m so…. Haaaaaaapy!” Giorsal starts crying joyful tears! She quickly regains her composure. “Ehem, s-sorry about that.” And by ‘composure’ you mean looking embarrassed.

“Aw, don’t cry, Gio-pie. I’m fine!

Wait, that voice?

That’s Ammirati! He woke up!

“Quick, cover your faces!” You instinctively shout. He can’t know your identities! Scarlet puts her hoodie on and Xavi turns around, putting his hands on his face.

“What for? What’s going on?” A carefree Ammirati looks around.

“Ammirati…” Giorsal looks at the cult leader with the utmost disgust.

You’re not positioned to deliver the Secret Spice Technique, so your only option is to plainly punch him to knock him out again! He will probably suffer some head injuries for this, but there is no other way around it. As he seems distracted with Giorsal, you move Scarlet aside and decide to smack him in the face with one swift blow!

Ammirati’s head bounces on the seat thanks to the ricochet and he collapses forward. He never saw it coming! He deserved it!

For some reason, this felt personal to you… Weird.

“Oh my goodness!” Giorsal didn’t expect that. She checks on Ammirati.

“T-That’s going to leave a mark.” Scarlet cringes.

“My knuckles hurt…” You put a little too much spice into your jab.

“That sounded nasty.” Xavi just now turns around, he missed it.

“I don’t think anyone here was interested in what he had to say, right?” You feel a little guilty for not asking.

“I’m not complaining.” Xavi looks relieved. Huh, you didn’t notice how nervous he was before.

“He’s out again!” Queen Bee announces to the group! Ammirati won’t trouble you now.

“I have a question.” Scarlet looks like she’s about to rain on this parade. “You took his powers away, right? Does that mean that the other girls are not brainwashed anymore?”

“I thought you were going to ask what we’re going to do with him.” Xavi seems to have other concerns.

“That’s important too, but…” Scarlet is more concerned about the others right now.

“His power should no longer be working.” You take for granted. Unless there is some major bullshit going on here.

“I have my doubts.” Giorsal brings bad news. “I don’t believe his brainwashing was an active effect, or else it would be too draining for him to use on too many people at once. He must’ve rearranged something in their brains or something alike. It’s one of the reasons I never tried to snap it off of him earlier, I needed to know more.” You’re not quite sure what she meant by that.

“Could you explain? Why wouldn’t it stop now?” Scarlet doesn’t get it either.

“Imagine it’s a faucet. Water comes out of it, right? The only thing we did was close it, but the water is still here.” Giorsal goes for an analogy.

“I think I get what you’re trying to say, buuut isn’t the brainwashing itself just magic? It would totally disappear.” Scarlet doesn’t agree.

“Or maybe the effects will slowly fade away, or they will stay permanently. Nobody but him knows how it works.” Giorsal is confident in what she’s saying. She’s the expert here after all.

“We can just check, y’know?” You don’t know why you’re wasting time talking here. Emily, Vivienne and Carol should be close by.

“So, what are we going to do with him?” Xavi just wants the danger to be over.

“I’ll put him in a coma, and we’ll take him to my ho— I mean, secret base.” Giorsal already made the decision.

“Wait, no, let me drop him inside the Church. Let the police have him, he needs to pay for what he did.” You know Ammirati needs to pay for all his crimes. “We’ll end up doing him a favor by keeping him away.”

“B-But this way I’ll ensure he’s not going to escape.” Giorsal is surprised by your decision.

“I found a rope inside the van, we can tie him up.” Xavi pulls a rope out of thin air. Why was there a rope lying around the van?

“I’m not entirely sure that this is the right move.” Scarlet has doubts as well. “We can drop him off somewhere later, y’know?”

“Exactly!” Giorsal seems pumped that someone agreed with her.

“What if they found us out? Can we run the risk?” Xavi replies. “He could pin the blame on us somehow. Maybe not. Yeah, that’s definitively stupid. But how are we going to explain just having him? People like me can’t survive jail.”

“I guess we didn’t do all this to run that kind of risk.” Scarlet is convinced. “Besides, this guy sounds like the worst. He must pay!”

“I understand. But if this somehow comes back to haunt us, I expect you all to help me deal with him again!” Giorsal raises a red flag that you don’t like one bit.

“It’s up to Double Dick to ensure that he gets locked behind bars though.” You did all you could! “That reminds me, here.” You hand the USB Stick and your empty camera with all the information to Scarlet.

“T-there are no pics in here…” Scarlet looks bummed out.

“Y-Yeah, the USB stick has everything, I didn’t need to take pics! Didn’t I tell you?” You smile behind your mask.

“B-But not even one? You know I bought this camera for…” Scarlet looks so sad. You need to cheer her up! You need to come up with a joke, pronto!

“Just go and drop Ammirati inside the building already!” Giorsal reminds you what’s going on. “We’re going for the others! Ms. Bubbles, please contact them!”

“I’ll get with the others on the buses, we’ll meet again at the Clinic.” Your unofficial base of operations. Your official one can’t hold more than a dozen people inside… “Be careful!” You grab Ammirati and get the hell out of your van.

As the shouts of your team wishing you good luck fade away you run through the street, back to the hole in the wall, and use your partner to throw Ammirati as far inside as you could without hurting him... too much at least. You see him bounce on the ground a couple of times until he finally stops, he looked like someone falling from a bike. You see a couple of cultists helping him out, but you don’t have enough time to really care about that…

You turn around and away from the alley you’re currently in, back in the street. You slowly twirl to see if you’re able to spot the buses. You see them all parked at the end of the street, next to the traffic lights a couple of blocks away, they look as unremarkable as you expected. You curse the air as you aren’t in the mood to run again, but this is the hand you were dealt with…

As you continue running, you pull out your phone and call Carol, it’s the only number you have to contact them. After the idol questions your efficiency and informs you that they were about to ditch you here, she tells you to get inside the first bus in the line, because the others are going to follow it, and maybe you can give them better directions.

You ask her if the behavior of the girls changed in any capacity, the question confused YUNG-P, so you’re assuming they are still under the spell… That can’t be good. Vivienne realys some information through Carol, she believes the ability will run out eventually. She couldn’t explain more because the Idol cannot be bothered to tell you everything if you’re about to get in there anyway. You ask if they are completely sure, which they are. You will believe them.

As you get closer to the last bus, the door on the second bus opens! It’s Emily! She’s indicating you to jump inside! Huh… So they are not in the same bus? Maybe you don’t need to spend more time with Carol and Vivienne…

>Xavi pulls a rope out of thin air. Why was there a rope lying around the van?
This van used to belong to Osgood? Why did he have a length of rope laying around in his van for who knows how long? Or was it left from when Sewel sold it to him? If the latter, then we can chalk it up to something like in case of mafia/yakuza shit going down. If the former, then why did Osgood specifically have this rope? Was he planning a kidnapping himself... or another suicide attempt?

Briefly, you stop in front of Emily's bus and apologize to her, you can’t go with her right now because you need to help Carol and Vivienne out. This job affair must wait. An understanding but disappointed Emily reassures you that it’s fine, and lets you go on your way. Before leaving, you tell her you’re going to meet up at the clinic soon, since it’s not that far away from here. You’re not so sure though, too many things have happened today and you feel a little bit disoriented.

“Yay! Our masked hero is back! Hooray!” Carol sarcastically announces as the rest of the bus gives you an ovation. “Vivi, get us out of here!”

The bus is driving away. Vivienne is driving and Carol is sitting alone, in the spot closest to the driver’s seat. The cheers still don’t die down.

“Huh, what’s up with this?” You feel a little embarrassed, you’re not used to getting this much attention.

“It was my idea. Since they’re still brainwashed, I gave it a go.” Carol gets more comfortable in her seat. “Feels nice, huh? Imagine getting this every other week.”

“Y-Yeah…” You scratch the back of your head.

“Tell me where to go, I’ve been deceived by this poorly made app for far too long.” Vivienne wants directions.

“Right… Just keep going straight for now, until you get to Masuda Street. Get there and then just keep going straight again. That’s it.” You scratch your cheek.

“………Why did it tell me to go in a zig zag?” Vivienne sounds incredibly annoyed.

“I don’t know. Anyway, why were you so sure that the effects of Ammirati’s ability will slowly fade away?” You really need this clarification.

“It’s all because of Carol.” Vivienne is annoyed at the red light. You see the other buses trailing behind this one. It’s like you’re going on a tour or something.

“ME?! I didn’t do anything! I’m good! I wouldn’t betray you at this point, right? You guys would just kill me! Baseless accusations I say! You have no proof! This is a libel, a slander! You’re no better than those paparazzi that you beat a couple of weeks ago! Johnny, believe me!” Carol has a little meltdown.

“…..From what I gathered from working alongside Ammirati, he needed to reapply his ability every now and then or it will slowly start to deteriorate. Using Carol’s ability allowed him to reapply it without issues, just turn on one of her dreadful songs and that’s it.” Vivienne ignores Carol completely. That explains why there were so many speakers on those 2 floors.

“W-Why do you make it sound like it was my fault?” Carol looks offended.

“Because you apply it, Carol, and your flame hasn’t gone away.” Vivienne makes it sound obvious. You like this explanation better than Giorsal’s. “And for the last time, I won’t abandon you now.”

“D’aww, how sweet. She’s sweet like that every now and then.” Carol nudges as she smirks. Vivienne looks even more irritated.

“I guess I shouldn’t have to worry about you two not sticking together.” You feel relieved but you’re not sure why.

“It’s likely that you won’t feel relieved for much longer. After our part of the deal is done, we’re going our separate ways.” Vivienne reminds you of the situation you’re in.

“I know we were together merely for a couple of hours, but I feel like a real friendship blossomed between us. So don’t be mean to Johnny, Vivi.” Carol is acting really phony right now.

“So, Carol said I couldn’t show you my face until we were out of there. Maybe I can show it to you now? I think it’s fair that you also see it.” Establishing trust is important after all! You put your hands on the mask.

“Hey, don’t do it, she’s driving! You’re going to distract her!” Carol puts her hands on your face just to stop you. You wonder if this is some kind of hint for you not to show your ugly mug to Vivienne.

“A quick glance won’t be the end of the world.” Vivienne is abnormally curious about this, huh?

“Vivi, you’re acting like a little kid. Get ahold of yourself!” Carol doesn’t want this to happen at all.

“I haven’t done anything to merit that kind of response.” Vivienne doesn’t look one bit happy.

“C-Could you take your hands off my face?” You politely plea to the idol instead of trying to remove her hands yourself.

“Just hold on a second, big guy.” Carol didn’t even turn around to tell you off. “Vivi, I’m trying to do some friendly banter, lighten up…”

“Your dry attempts at humor are only self-indulgent, therefore inefficient.” Vivienne is not taking anything Carol is throwing at her.

“We’re at a red light, you can take your mask off…” Carol lets you go as she continues glaring Vivienne. With the way they act, you feel like it’s going to be a miracle if these two continue to be friends, just like all friendships in a way.

“Here…” You take your mask off.

“...........................................................” Vivienne keeps staring at you like she’s watching the strangest creature she has ever seen.

W-What?” Are you that ugly to look at?

Fascinating.” Vivienne is treating you like a lab rat. She slowly approaches, moving her hands toward your face.

“Vivi, green light.” Carol points forward, interrupting Vivienne before she could put her hands on you.

“………..Pardon me.” The ex-Chief of security turns around to continue driving.

“Now hoodie up, ‘cause I imagine that weird mask must be uncomfortable.” YUNG-P puts your hoodie over your head. “We need to keep that hidden weapon, well, hidden.”

“W-Wait, was that a good or a bad reaction? Did I have something on my face?” You’re confused and a little embarrassed.

“Hey, Vivi. Tell him what you think.” Carol begins teasing the driver.

“…Please don’t distract me while I’m driving.” Vivienne won’t bother to answer your queries. She points to the sign inside that says the exact same thing.

“These are the types of reactions that make her so reliable.” Carol chuckles.

“What do you mean?” You don’t quite get it.

“Johnny, she’s an open book, when you’re surrounded by people with masks, you gravitate to those who don’t. Metaphorically… and literally speaking in your case.” Carol tries to sound profound, but it comes out as deep as her lyrics.

“From all I’ve seen, Vivienne seems like a nice, proper gal. Except for her inclination towards murder.” You care to admit.

“When I said she was okay with murder, I didn’t know if actually she had her hands in any that. Do you really see this cupcake hurting anyone like that? She’s so nice and caring, she’s an environmentalist too. Don’t you think she’s cute?” Carol starts giggling again. You nod in response, she is kind of cute.

“………Please don’t talk about me like I’m not here.” The distracted driver gets flustered.

Shortly after, you arrive at the clinic! You preemptively called Dr. Calamity to inform him about your arrival with this new large group of brainwashed people so they have teams of people ready to attend the girls that are arriving. Also, you got a call from Scarlet, every member of the team is safe now, but they had a little diversion and had to take a longer route to the Clinic, so they will arrive in a little while. Hopefully these are the last calls you’ll have to make today… Another small note, you exchanged information with Vivienne as well.

And so, you helped all the girls off the bus! Right behind you is Emily and Dr. Calamity – Vivienne and Carol are still inside, and they don’t seem interested in staying here any longer, ready to leave on the vehicle.

“And that was the last one of them!” Carol announces as she waves the last office lady off the bus. She’s been hiding behind one of the seats because she’s clearly scared of Dr. Calamity.

“Are you two completely sure that you don’t need a checkup? I wouldn’t want either of you two to wake up dead tomorrow, HAhahHAhahA!” Dr. Calamity offers again.

T-That can’t be his real laugh...!” Carol covers her ears.

“We’re fine. Please forget that we were ever here, or you will suffer the consequences. That goes for all three of you, I’m trying to be as nice as I can.” Vivienne threatens.

Grave consequences, perhaps? HahHAhahA!” Dr. Calamity has a hearty laugh again, obviously not feeling threatened by Vivienne. In a way, Vivienne feels powerless. “I would prefer if you pay your usual doctor a visit, your health is important.”

“We will.” Vivienne nods. “Well, Johnny Ando. We kept our word like we promised. Now it’s time for us to bid you all farewell.”

“Don’t act like we’re not going to see them again. I prefer texting by the way, don’t even think about calling me, makes me anxious.” Carol threatens you all.

“Duly noted.” After today, you don’t plan on calling a lot of people on the phone for a while.

“I know that you originally didn’t want to, but thanks for saving me.” Emily bows to both girls.

“I would do anything for my fans, hehe.” Carol is such a liar.

“Then please start trying again! I hate seeing you all downhearted and cynical!” Emily politely asks.

W-What...?” Carol is dumbfounded. That surely came out of nowhere. “S-Sure…”

So this is it for Carol and Vivienne for today, what a day you had with them… Or evening, technically.

What do you say to this parting duo?

>“Hey Carol, can you give us tickets for your next concert?”
>“Are you sure that you don’t want to stay for a little while? You can meet the rest of my group.”
>“Take care, you two. Until next time!”

“Hey Carol, can you give us tickets to your next concert?” You request.

“Yeah, I’ll give you tickets for my try hard concert, sure.” Carol looks annoyed at your request.

“I’m not joking. Please, Carol, I want to see you perform for real.” You say in response.

“I would love to go as well!” Emily stands up proudly.

“Hard pass.” Vivienne doesn’t want to be anywhere near this.

“I-I’ll see what I can do, no promises.” Carol looks away, a little embarrassed.

“Will you try your best?” Emily is being stingy.

“Y-Yeah, I will.” Carol is self-conscious about her music.

“Good! I’ll continue supporting you then!” Emily smiles at the idol.

“I’ll make sure that she fulfills her promise.” Vivienne is willing to help. “Now, we need to go.”

“Take care, you two. Until next time!” You wave at them.

“Farewell.” Vivienne closes the tour bus’ door. Then you see them go… You wave at them, even though you don’t think they’re going to see it. Doctor Calamity and Emily join you as well. You wonder why you had to meet those two this way, you really did like being around them, even if one part of you knows that they don’t feel the same way about you.

Maybe destroying the cult wasn’t about saving the world, but about the friends you made along the way. Life goes into weird turns.

“Well then, Ando. I’m going to see how I can help these ladies you brought in here.” Dr. Calamity pats you on the back and walks inside the clinic, leaving you alone with Emily. Vivienne mentioned that the effects of Ammirati’s ability don’t last longer than a month, but that’s still a long ass time. The doctor knows that as well, so he doesn’t look as pressured as when you brought Holly, Posie and the others.

As soon as you are about to start talking to Emily, you see your van finally approaching! They’re finally here…!

Wait, is that a hole in the door…? What the hell happened to your van?!

Tch…!” Emily sneezes. You realize that it’s starting to snow again… Why is it snowing again? What’s up with the climate. Anyway, you hand your hoodie over to Emily… And take part of the stupid cultist uniform off. “T-Thank you. Maybe we should go inside?”

“No, wait, my team is in that van. Without them I couldn’t have done this!” You briefly explain to Emily.

“Oh, what kind of people are they?” Emily seems interested to know more.

“…” You look at the van, then up to the sky, then back at Emily. These people were willing to put their lives at risk to help you out today, each of them for different reasons, and you feel really grateful to all of them. You smile at Emily before giving her your response:

Dorks.

That’s it for today’s week! Thank you for playing! We come back this Sunday!
