You are Shinji Matou, eight years ago you suddenly found yourself with the memories of a complete past life that saw this world as a fictional story due to some unprecedented form of inter-dimensional transportation. Since that day, your new composite being has been working to change the grim future laid out for you.

To that end, you have done much, involving yourself with events and situations that have hopefully already shifted the future away from one which will feature your violent end, and have massively shifted it towards one that will have a completely different outcome in store for you, be it positive or negative.

Currently, you are plotting to save your sister, Sakura and kill your 'grandfather' Zouken, with the aid of two of your allies, Gray and Monica Eisenmann. The plan involves you using your magecraft in order to purge the crest worms infesting Sakura's body, whilst Gray and Monica destroy your ancestor Zouken's physical body. In doing so, you will kill the old worm, once and for all!

"Alright then Monica. Let's go. I'll tell you everything I know about Zouken and his magecraft when we get to he apartment with the other person I have working on this for me." As much as you would like to spend some time messing around with Monica, time really is of the essence at this point, and you don't want to leave Gray waiting either.

"Oh? You have somebody else on the mission already?" Monica sounds interested in this development.

"Yeah, you remember that girl we uh... 'liberated' from that village? She's actually one of the stronger people in the Mage's Association now. In fact, I doubt that anyone there is capable of surviving her strongest attack." Honestly, there's not even that many actual Servants that could survive a full power Rhongomyniad head on. Heracles as Berserker... maybe? But then again, you're pretty certain you remember hearing that a full power Excalibur would've shredded all his lives in a single blow, so maybe not even him. Gilgamesh could survive though, simply by stacking dozens of Noble Phantasm shields and heavily relying on his armor.

"Her... strongest attack?" Monica sounds intrigued by that. That Gray has an attack that you consider strong enough to be a threat to literally everyone in the Mage's Association. Of course, there are some people that could likely overwhelm it with their own attacks, but even Zelretch or Aoko would surely perish if they were caught off guard and hit by the energy of Rhongomyniad. A battle of glass cannons, naturally.

"That's right, an A++ Rank Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm. You didn't think all that talk about her being King Arthur's descendant was just for effect, did you? She's really very strong... If a little bit inexperienced." It's hilarious just how much better a weapon Rhongomyniad is compared to Excalibur. Not only is Rhongomyniad comparable if not greater in strength, it also ranks up your parameters AND can turn you into a Divine Spirit if you overuse it... Well, that last part may not exactly be beneficial in most cases, especially when the Divine Spirit you become is very much not 'you'. If Gray or Arturia could access the power of the divinity held within the spear without succumbing to it, then they would without a doubt be more than capable of destroying a majority of the threats that you face. Even Gilgamesh would have some difficulty defeating the true power of Rhongomyniad... Though he would likely manage it anyway, unless his arrogance prevented him from using his full strength against her. Then again, if he were up against an actual Goddess and not Saber, then you doubt he'd hold back, so probably best to shelve that idea. Especially because you have no idea if it would even be possible to have Saber or Gray retain their personality upon becoming a true Divine Spirit. Then there's the issue of actually keeping them maintained in the world. Divine Spirits are even more difficult to keep manifested in the world than Heroic Spirits are, after all.
>>
"She was... hiding that kind of firepower?" Monica sounds bewildered at the idea of the small innocent looking girl hiding such destructive power, an A++ rank Noble Phantasm is seriously no joke, after all. It's the sort of thing that could destroy a good chunk of the Clocktower if she was to decide doing such a thing was necessary. Outside of Avalon or maybe an exceptional defensive Noble Phantasm on the level of Akhilleus Kosmos, there's really nothing that could defend against it other than something of equal destructive power like Excalibur, and you doubt that a Dragon Ball style beam clash would be healthy for the structural integrity of the building.

"She still is, actually. It's only thanks to a little bit of research on my part that I found out about that particular ability of hers at all. In truth, I believe she quite dislikes actually using the Noble Phantasm." The true function of Add isn't one that Gray would really reveal lightly to anyone, and it's only thanks to your knowledge about her that you already had that you are aware of the actual strength she possesses. Though even without the use of Rhongomyniad, Gray is no joke. Add is still a pretty exceptional weapon by itself, having been created by a first class Magus like Morgan la Fay. Who should at least be at about the level of a Grand Caster considering her ability to oppose Merlin. Speaking of Merlin, if you ever meet the Magus of Flowers, you're going to need to berate him for his complete failure to stop Cath Palug from becoming Primate Murder. Though it hardly makes any sense that Cath Palug, a cat, was tied into being Primate Murder, a dog or wolf. Nasu probably just thought it would be a cool tie in to his older works or something. It doesn't actually make any sense at all to tie in Primate Murder as Cath Palug of all damn things. Why couldn't he have just made it Fenrir, like a sensible person would have? "But we really ought to get going, Monica, we'll need to discuss the actual specifics of the operation and about Zouken's abilities with Gray, so we can actually delegate what will need doing properly."

"Very well, lead the way, Shinji." Monica follows you out of her office after locking up the place, and the two of you end up making some small talk as you catch a cab back to the hotel you and Giselle booked.

When you walk into the lobby of the hotel, you notice that Gray has arrived before you, and is waiting patiently for your arrival. She perks up when she notices your arrival, and in a wordless exchange, she begins following you and Monica into an elevator.
>>
Monica taps her foot impatiently as the elevator rises. "I never liked these damn things, always afraid they might short circuit and plummet to the ground." Whereas other magi might hate the idea of automated elevators on the idea that they are just another example of technology and scientific principles taking the world over, Monica's dislike of them is far more practical. For somebody who specializes in electric and magnetic based magecraft like her, then something like an elevator would probably feel very uncomfortable to ride in, knowing that she's only one accidental use of her magecraft away from causing the damn thing to plummet downwards out of control.

"You should have said something, Monica. Next time we'll take the stairs if you feel like that about using elevators." Really, you don't like that she feels uncomfortable at all, especially because her sense of unease is perfectly justifiable. It's not like she's yelling about cameras stealing souls or something... Even though there's almost no doubt that at least one jackass magus has actually made something that does something to that effect.

"No no, it's fine, really. I'll just bear with it." A good thing too, you really don't want to have to climb up and down 27 flights of stairs to reach your room or to leave the building, respectively. While you're fit enough to do so with ease, it would just be a total waste of time when you could take the elevator. But if it would make Monica more comfortable to do so, then you'll take the stairs back down. It's not like you'll be spending any more time than you'll have to in London now though. You've managed to get your allies together, and you have enough money to charter a flight if you can't get one to leave the country by today.

When you're all inside your room, you begin to inform your allies of Zouken's abilities as well as his weaknesses. First making sure to send Giselle on a long errand so that she doesn't eavesdrop on the conversation. She's actually very quick to agree to your suggestion, almost as if she wants to leave you to your private conversation. "Zouken primarily focuses on his familiars, the crest worms which compose his body. He can use them in a variety of ways they excel at the consumption of human flesh and can take flight should they be required to. Zouken was in his prime a Brand rank in the Clocktower, though don't let that mislead you, he was apparently capable of potentially fighting Servants when he was in his prime... But he's not at the same level of power anymore, he's just a tricky old bastard. Thankfully he doesn't actually have any reason to suspect this attack is coming, nor does he believe that anybody could truly kill him thanks to his disgusting way to survive even should his body be destroyed."
>>
"Which is...?" Monica asks for you to elaborate on the method to actually ensure the old worm's death. It's just a shame that you can't get Shiki involved on this, but you wouldn't really want to mess up the events of Tsukihime by forcing him to see death points sooner. The more he uses his mystic eyes, the stronger they get, and no doubt he would be forced to rely on a blindfold much sooner if you had him develop them to such an extent. Still, all he would need to do is strike Zouken in a death point and even his heart worm would dissolve away into nothing, despite the separation from his main body. Still, causing him to go effectively blind just for Sakura is a little too much for you, especially when you've managed to figure out a way to potentially save her without doing so. Nevermind how much doing that to Shiki would completely derail the plot of Tsukihime, and it's sort of important that it resolves in a positive ending.

"The heart worm hidden inside my sister. It's what houses his soul. Which is what I'll be focusing on destroying while you two focus on destroying his physical body. Oh, and while I don't really care about the house, please both of you do your best not to completely reduce it to rubble. It does contain quite a lot of magical knowledge and artifacts on account of Zouken's age." You tell your allies honestly. While you certainly would prefer if the house remained standing by the end of all this, you certainly wouldn't care if the damn place was destroyed. The only thing of any value in that place is what Zouken has managed to amass over the centuries anyway. If it does remain standing though, you do intend to do some serious renovating of the place, and you kind of want to fill the entire basement with concrete.
>>
Your two allies give you resolute expressions. They seem to understand exactly what it is they'll need to do. You don't really think either of them have much to fear from Zouken's actual magecraft, thankfully, and now that the two of them are well informed of his nature as a magus suited to trickery, they'll likely be extra cautious when it comes to exterminating him. No sudden realizations that worms have eaten their feet for them... you hope. You'll end up discussing tactics with the two of them in far greater detail on the flight to Fuyuki anyway though, so there shouldn't be a problem. "If he primarily focuses on organic familiars, then I'll use my magecraft to form a barrier of electricity around myself. Anything that gets close to me will be given a shock great enough to stop a human heart. It should be more than enough for these worms of his." Monica reveals her tactic of choice, and one that is likely a hard counter to Zouken, so long as he doesn't pull anything unexpected. "But yeah. I'll be careful. I've faced off against some real tricky bastards in the past. Almost died to a few of them too. I'm... well accustomed to avoiding traps. I can only hope that my... co-worker is so experienced."

"I will do what I can." Gray's face remains determined as Monica gives her opinion on her, Monica is clearly underestimating Gray thanks to the girl's age and inexperience, or maybe she's just worried about her?

"Now that's out of the way, I think it's time we actually got on with things." You turn away from your two allies, looking out of the window and at the city below. "We leave tonight and will immediately begin preparations upon arriving in Fuyuki. I don't want to waste a minute from this point onwards." You quickly decide that the sooner you get all this resolved, the better. No point in drawing things out.

"Alright, alright. Let's be on our way, shall we?" Monica agrees with you. "Though it might be an idea to wait for your maid to return. Do I even want to know why you are apparently employing one of the Einzbern's Homunculi as a personal maid, Shinji?" Monica finally brings up Giselle's presence, you were actually waiting for that.

"It's a long story that involves the Holy Grail and the upcoming Holy Grail War. For the sake of simplicity, I'll just say that she is the result of me forming an alliance with the Einzbern to help them to seize the Holy Grail. I intend to put a permanent end to the Grail War, one way or another." Be that through the destruction of grail or the recovery of the Third Magic, you'll do whatever feels like the right thing to do at the time given your resources. If Angra Mainyu can be removed from the grail and the Third Magic can truly be achieved, then you may just go for that route. Of course, that is only if it can be recovered without Illya actually dying. If that is not a possibility, then Angra Mainyu or not, the grail is going to be destroyed.

"I see... But really? The Einzbern? Aren't you a little worried that they'll back stab you? They aren't exactly the most reputable family these days, you know. Anyone evil enough to employ the use of fully thinking and feeling slaves is a pretty rotten apple in my book. Speaking of... That maid of yours, you're treating her properly, like a human, right?" Monica asks with a small amount of concern for Giselle in her voice. Most magi wouldn't have a shred of care for homunculi, but then again, Monica isn't exactly a magus.

"I've really only had her with me today, and I tried to refuse her. It was only that the Einzbern wanted to spy on me that she was sent at all. It was one of those situations where I really had no choice but to except, otherwise they might've had the poor girl executed simply for no longer having a use for her." You tell Monica the truth about Giselle, it's not really like you wanted the Einzbern to give you your own personal maid, after all. If you wanted that, you could just hire some. Though you suppose they wouldn't have the same loyalty that Giselle has. Or at least would have, if you didn't have the sneaking suspicion she has been ordered to betray you should you betray the Einzbern "Also of course I'm going to treat her like she's a human being. Do you really think I would be so heartless as to act otherwise?"
>>
"No. Of course not." Monica smiles a heartwarming smile at you as she reveals just how much she believes in you having a good nature. It might be misplaced, after all. All the good that you've done is really a side effect of attaining your goals. At least your goals at heart could be considered good, but the motivating factor behind everything you do in some ways could even be called insidious. Now really isn't the time to begin questioning your own moral worth though. After about twenty minutes of waiting around Giselle finally returns, having finally come back from the errand you gave her to keep her distracted. Namely, finding instant ramen. She has a slight smile as she reveals through the bag she's holding that she has had success in locating a store that sells instant ramen.

"Now then. We're all here. So let's get going. Giselle, you'll be staying in the Einzbern Castle when we get back, right?"

"That is correct, Master Makiri." Giselle confirms the situation, at least you won't have to worry about her spying on this next operation too much. Not that she's shown herself to be a very effective spy at all.

"Makiri?" Monica repeats after Giselle. She's probably wondering just why it is that you're using a different name, so you decide to give her a quick explanation before you set off for the airport.

"I wish to distance myself from the Matou, so I've decided to take up the name we had when we were still a relevant family of magi. From a time before we single-mindedly pursued the grail without focusing on anything else. Right now though, I hardly need more of a reason to hate him. It's just going to cloud my judgement if I focus on how much I loathe him." Really, you don't want to start making foolish mistakes now. When you finally remove Zouken from the equation, you can truly reveal things to Sakura at least. The girl you've basically been entirely focused on saving for the past eight years. You just hope you aren't going through with things too early. But you can't just allow her to keep suffering. "We can talk more about it on the way though. As of now, time is wasting, and I wish to get back to Fuyuki as quickly as possible." You leave the hotel room without another word, gesturing for your allies to follow you downwards. You take the stairs this time. None of your allies complain. Gray and Giselle are far too stoic for complaints, and Monica much prefers taking the more mundane way to descend the building. It's not like you'll be coming back to this hotel room anyway, and you don't think anybody really minds walking down stairs. Soon you're out of the hotel and on your way to the airport.
>>
It's noon. You arrived in Japan a few hours ago and have finally managed to get to the apartment you purchased in order to plot your ultimate revenge against Zouken, and finally put an end to Sakura's unjust and undeserved suffering. You don't know just what will happen should you succeed, but there's no option but to ensure that you do.

"So, Shinji. Just how exactly are we going to go about doing this?" Monica once again asks for your input on things. "Gray and I know just about what we need to do, but I believe you wanted things done on a strict timer, right? You're going to perform this magical operation on your sister, while we focus on actually killing Zouken, to prevent the chances of his retaliation, correct?" She perfectly summarizes the plan of action, but really, there are quite a few ways you can go about things.

"That's about right, just ensure that you completely obliterate his physical body without a trace. He's still incredibly deadly even if you think you've managed to kill him. So do not let your guard down until after I have given you the all clear." You really don't want Monica or Gray to come to harm, especially not now, when you're so close to grasping your first true victory in this world.

""Understood."" Gray and Monica say in unison, before shooting each other quick looks, the two of them don't really seem to know what to make of the other. The two of them are both oddities among magecraft practitioners, after all.

"So, how are we going to go about starting the operation?" Monica asks the question you've been waiting for. The last question that you need to answer before you will be able to save Sakura.

>"I'm going to go and fetch Sakura right now before taking her to a secure location and drugging her while she's unaware. I want you to attack Zouken either thirty minutes after I leave the house, or if you notice him leaving."
>"We'll wait until night falls before we make our move. I'll pretend as if everything is normal all the way up until we strike. You two will attack while I am in the house with Sakura, and you will pretend to be assailants with nothing to do with me. That way he'll be even more blindsided when I use my magecraft to deal with him."
>"First off, I'm going to try to lure Zouken out of the house through some clever deception, then, when he's not under the protection of the dozens of bounded fields of the Matou Residence, you two will strike and destroy him. I'll say that I overheard some enforcers talking about dismantling the grail or something."

Originally, Monica was a very different character, though that changed early on in the planning stage.
I probably should've changed her character image to reflect that.
Ah well.
>>
Take Sakura and clean her if worms. This will clearly alert him, but if we clean her properly he will have to come after us ASAP. Set up the best bounded field you can in a safe location to do this in. See if we can teleport by altering the truth of our location. If we can, set up a bomb just in case he goes after us. When he comes after us, he will be forced to leave the house. Get Grey/ Monica to wait for him outside the house - when he leaves to deal with us now that Sakura’s safe, have them attack him in the street so that he isn’t inside any possible bounded fields he has.
>>
>>4383614
The bomb is in case he goes after us some other way, and doesn’t use the street. It might also be a good idea for one of them to wait in the sewers near the Makiri house, since he probably has an exit there as well, and leave if he goes after the other in the street.

I have too superficial knowledge of the universe to contribute but I have some questions.
-do we have means to lure the bastard to some sort of battleground of our choosing? Ambush in his dwelling may catch him unawares, but he will have home turf advantage. In contrast if he’s lured out he may be more attentive and with ready precautions.
-do we have an agreed point of reunion after action so we can make follow up plans right after?
-do we have any backup tools to employ in case of anything unforeseen happening (defense we were unaware of, third party presence we did not expect). Tools like weapons, magic, vehicle, knowledge of a circumstance we have not yet altered, means to contact an ally.

Just floating some points to stir up discussion as people are probably afraid to vote given stakes of what’s coming down.

"I'm going to go and fetch Sakura right now before taking her to a secure location and drugging her while she's unaware." While you don't exactly want to have to do any of this, and drugging Sakura makes you feel bad, it's not exactly like there's any choice here. "I want you to attack Zouken either thirty minutes after I leave the house, or if you notice him leaving in a hurry." Hopefully these two will be enough to deal with the old worm. You're really pinning your hopes on the two of them. If they should fail, then it's unlikely you or Sakura will get to celebrate her liberation for very long, as Zouken's revenge will be swift and ruthless. Of that much, you're quite certain.

"Alright then. Are you really certain that you've made all the preparations you need for this?" Absolutely not, but when it comes to this sort of thing, you're never going to get yourself into a position where you're actually certain that whatever it is you've plotted will be enough. Even if you had the overwhelming magical expertise of Caster or Touko aiding you against Zouken, you'd still have a nagging doubt that whatever it is you plotted to do would fail. But still, you have to try. You can't just let things go on like this any longer. You've had enough of hiding your true abilities from the people you care about the most, and the first step in telling them the truth involves the eradication of Zouken. As it is, only Touko is really aware of just what you can actually accomplish. Of course, it would be a lie if you said that this wish to reveal your strength was your true motivator, but you do wish you could just be truthful with everyone about things. Especially Sakura, the girl who has been your true motivation for these past eight years. Whenever you hit a wall or struggled, a single look at Sakura was all that you needed to keep you going. She was always struggling more than you were. While your goal for the Grail War and achieving your own happiness was a driving factor, it was Sakura who was the core behind everything. Now... Now you'll finally save her. If you can save her, it will prove that these past eight years of relentlessly gaining strength weren't for nothing.
>>
If you succeed here, then Sakura will no longer need to put on that brave face every day. To pretend to you that things are alright when in actuality they are as bad as they could possibly get. No longer will she have to force herself to smile, no longer will she have to face the unjust pain wrought upon her by Zouken. Sakura will never be forced to suffer her cruel fate again. "Yes. I'm certain. There's no going back now. I've come too far and to just get this far and give up out of fear." Even if you are still terrified of Zouken. What if he realized what you were up to a long time ago? What if he's already put counter-measures against you? What if... What if you can't save Sakura? No. There's no sense in self doubt now. If you succeed, Sakura is saved, and if you fail... well, you suppose you'll probably die. Hopefully, Shirou, Rin and Saber will be able to succeed in saving Sakura even if you should fail here. It's not exactly all too comforting a thing to think about, but at least it means you wouldn't die completely in vain.

"That's what I like to hear. Shinji-kun." Monica at least has faith in your false bravado. You can only hope that her faith in you is well placed. You've come to considered Monica as a dear friends, and other than Touko, the most reliable person you know. Even if the two of them have some pretty major flaws in that department sometimes, they are still far more reliable than any other person you've ever interacted with. You suppose Waver is kind of reliable, but he's not really strong enough to be much help. Gray is strong, but hardly somebody you can rely on to solve a situation by herself at all. She's just Waver's Takeuchi approved sidekick. Shirou is somebody you know that you'll definitely be able to rely upon... when he's older and is actually strong. As he is now, you'd just end up getting both of you Bad Ends if you tried to ask him to do anything risky, while he's much stronger than he would've normally been without your influence, he's still not at a level where you're comfortable asking him to put himself in danger for your sake. You don't even know whether Rin will still feel obligated to heal him if he gets fatally injured by Lancer this time. Though thinking things through logically, Lancer shouldn't have any need to be poking around the school without the presence of Archer and Rin at the school at night. So without Rider setting up Bloodfort Andromeda on... well your orders, that shouldn't actually happen.
>>

Sakura in the first being greatest right?
>>
You leave the small apartment and wish both Monica and Gray luck in their half of the operation. You managed to convince Shishou to hand over a small amount of that paralysis drug she used on you when she activated your circuits a while back. It's apparently more potent than any mundane anesthetic available, at least according to her. The apartment is only a short walk from the Matou Residence, you made sure of that when you bought it. It's a highly convenient location, and should be an excellent temporary place to stay should the Matou mansion not make it through the next hour.

You knock on the front door of the Matou mansion, while you have a key to the house, you're expecting to be greeted by Sakura which will make getting her out of the house even easier. Only the door opens, and Sakura isn't behind it at all. Instead, the man you had hoped you would never have to see again is right here in front of you. You force a smile as you look at the man. "Grandfather. I'm back from my extra curricular trip." You try keeping your tone pleasant. With any luck, you'll have this old worm dead within the hour. You can't reveal your hatred of him just yet. You're just lucky that Zouken doesn't care enough to confirm your constant extra-curricular tricks with the school. Well, you did put a few things in place to ensure that even if he did, you wouldn't be in that much trouble unless he really started prying. For one, you made sure to hypnotize the school faculty into believing you really were on a multi-day trip. You can hardly rely on your puppet for things like this, after all. It's good at deceiving your teachers and other students, but when it comes to deceiving magi, even Shirou could see right through it. Never mind that it would be even more suspicious if you just had it continue going to school whilst you weren't going home at night.

"It is a good thing you have returned, Shinji. Your father... he fell terribly ill whilst you were away... and he perished just last night." There's a faint ghost of a smile on the old bastard's face as he recounts the story of your father's death to you. You'd long since accepted that it was going to happen around this time now, and you were never very close with Byakuya, even before gaining your second set of memories. You get the terrible feeling that things have already started to go wrong. "And now... Now Sakura is ill too. You aren't aware, are you? Of the creatures inside your dear sister... You see, Shinji... Sakura has a terrible condition, where an irremovable parasite has infested her body, and will kill her unless... Well unless she is to undergo regular... sexual intercourse." The words you were dreading finally arrive, and at the worst possible moment, too.
>>
"So... you... you can't be saying...?" Still. You need to keep up the facade, so you feign some ignorance at just what it is that Zouken is asking of you. Things aren't unsalvageable just yet.

"Yes. You've always been close to your sister, haven't you? This is the only way for her to survive... There's no other way." Zouken lies to you through his teeth. "But you should hurry, Shinji. I've managed to slow the progress of the parasites within her, but they've already begun devouring Sakura from the inside out." He smiles... The smile of true evil. Of a man who enjoys causing suffering, it's all you can do to keep the expression on your face one of shock and horror instead of one of hatred and wrath. You should kill him right now. You think. But you cool your emotions. "Yes. Grandfather." You've got no choice but to at least pretend to accept. His grin grows ever wider as he hears you accept. You hate him. You hate this old worm more than you thought it was possible to hate somebody. You're going to take great joy when you finally erase him from the face of the planet.

But for now, you...

Oh Fuck!
I'm a fucking idiot!
I really should have known some shit like this was happening. Here I thought Zouken would have been forcing Byakuya to work till his dying day, but of course not. Of course poor Sakura has been getting eaten alive this whole damn time. Shit!
Welp, we can't really go for his throat now, that would be a definite dead end. I really don't want to risk taking off the necklace at any point while inside or near the manor with Zouken's attention on us. We can't even get in contact with our team because they don't have fucKING PHONES! God damn it guys, I really don't wanna fuck her like this, or at all really, but it really does look like we're gonna have to go through with it.
Just one more fuck you from the worm before we put him in the grave I suppose.

....we could always drug her before we do it. Make it extra clean, make sure she doesn't remember as to not further her dependency or trauma. Eva Shinji style jerk off to her comatose body and slide the goo inside.
...actually hold on.

What if we just tell him we plan to do this from the start? Minus the drugging part.
Does Zouken really care if we actually fuck her or does he just want us to get her the energy, because if we can use our charisma to get the opportunity to fuck off to the store for some condoms or some shit so we can do the above plan, i.e. claim we'll use the condoms to get her the energy, we could instead fill one of them with our blood or some shit and get it to her that way!
If he won't go for it, then we'll simply have to go through with it, because every other plan provided is a damn trap.

Fair enough, but I think it's still worth a shot. All we really need to do here is make sure Sakura is stable and keep up appearances just a bit longer. What we're doing isn't suspicious, any brother would insist on a way to keep their sister safe without directly having to fuck her, and hopefully with our charisma is high enough that we'll be able to get Zouken to give us a pass just this once.

Hope so but I'm not counting on it, to me high charisma to convince rational people to act the way we want is one thing, convincing an irrational lich to give us a pass when he thinks we're too far beneath him to negotiate with, who currently has all the leverage in this scenario, is used to centuries of kin doing as he says immediately or getting wormed, and enjoys psychologically breaking people to control them, doesn't leave me with much faith that he might.

You are 100% not wrong to have your doubts. Still, nothing beats a failure but a try. Even if it doesn't work, we should at the very least give it a shot.
>>
>>4385270
I'm not saying not to try, I'm saying without a good write in add on everything other than the coomer option seems like it's doomed to fail and I hate that one on the principle of it; to me:
Trying to negotiate would likely get us dumped in the worm pit or lead to combat,
Trying to deworm her now would set off his alarm and get us killed if we don't signal our allies, assuming he even gives us a chance to
Taking off the necklace would set off its own alarm when we go from 0-9000+ if he has anything monitoring magic output
trying to attack - might- give us a chance, if we focus on property damage to draw monica/grey in to assist but at the same time nothings stopping him from stopping Sakura's heart since that's clearly what set it off
>>
>>4385283
Then we coom
>>
>>4385283
>trying to attack - might- give us a chance
Certainly not as the option is written. Remember what Zouken's body is made of; he can dissolve at will and move around as a swarm in HF. Kicking him is just a ticket to getting our leg eaten by worms, that's why we need Monica to use a field of electricity if we want to eliminate his "main body" swarm. Honestly, I still think we're in the no-win scenario here and this is all a runup to the dead end where we get told we should've waited until the grail war to try and kill him.
>>
>>4385170
Can we, like, grab Sakura and jump out of the house, and maybe to the roof of another building to get to someplace we won't be seen as quickly as possible, then proceed to do the blood thing to slow the worms down before extracting them?

If we can just get outside the house we can ensure Zouken is distracted by Monica and Gray while we work on Sakura, but I don't know about our chances of doing so without Zouken immediately trying to get the worms to kill her.

Might be better to just do the
>...go ahead with trying to purge Sakura's body of the worms. While you're going to have to be exceptionally quick about things. It's the only way you have a chance now.
And then immediately leap out a window so Monica and Gray can fight Zouken and possibly heal Sakura if she took any damage from the worms before we destroyed them, since we'll be out of mana after using our Truth power to destroy them.

I doubt it would be that bad. It is perfectly reasonable to try and suggest alternatives, and it's easy to walk back on it if Zouken doesn't take it well. While Zouken doesn't see much in Shinji, he still needs him to some extent so I doubt we'll be thrown into the worm pit just for bargaining.

No.
Guys, we can't fucking attack him at all. He can, and would, cripple or severely hurt Sakura from a distance with the worms in her body.
He's very much aware that we care a lot about Sakura so letting him know we have absolutely no intention of doing what he wants rather than having normal trepidations will definitely get us in the worm pit.

Are you sure that's a good idea?
I think there's a pretty huge problem in doing this...
It's got nothing to do with Zouken either.
Can you guess what it is?
>>
>>4385480
Where to begin? What all gets locked out of the room? Air? Light? Gravity? Does creating no way in also create no way out? Do we overdrain our magic and either combust or pass out? The idea is so risky I can't guess which flaw will screw us over first.
>>
>>4385489
It might even do some weird fuckery like forcing us back out instantly, because if the fundamental truth of the room is that there's no way in then we couldn't have gotten in there in the first place.
>>
>>4385492
Or hey, it might be one of those Occam's Razor situations where the room just becomes a solid mass because that's the most direct way of making it so that there's no way in.
>>
Perhaps changing the truth of the room to be anti-Zouken Makiri? Too specific?
>>
>>4385498

>>
>>4385480
Can we change it instead to changing our location? Or that no one can enter?
>>
>>4385480
Are we capable of changing it to "Zouken can't enter"? Seems like it would be a minor version of "nothing can get in". I mean, would Shinji know it?
>>
>>4385511
The manipulation of concepts requires you to understand the concept you are manipulating or manifesting.
Shinji understands the concept of "a room". The area of effect.
He understands the concept of "everything" the target.
And he understands the concept of "impassible". The effect.

He doesn't however understand the concept of individual beings.
>>
>>4385521
Well shit.
Guess we can just not do that part?
>>
>>4385521
Wait, but we understand the concept of the crest worms enough that we can make fire that burns only them? What, did we get access to Zouken's secret files on how they're constructed? Otherwise I don't see how we'd understand them any more than we understand Zouken.
>>
>>4385521
Hmm... Can Shinji change the truth of the "location" of the room? So that the room is out of Zouken's reach for now, instead of it being anti-him?

I guess that's kind of Reality Marbling tho...
>>
>>4385525
It's the same as how you can understand the concept of "everything". Even if you can't comprehend it's scope.
You understand the concept of "Familiars" of which Crest Worms are a valid target yet Sakura is not.

To understand the concept of a person is a little more difficult.
>>
>>4385531
Changing the location of the room is a better option then, possibly changing it so it's beyond the reach of enemies? Enemies is a broad enough concept that includes Zouken right?

Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.
>>
>>4385170
>...have no choice but to go along with what Zouken wants. You can't safely get Sakura out of the house while the crest worms are actively trying to devour her.
Let's just do it.
Its the only way to make sure we can actually successfully kill Zouken.
>>
>>4385684
I mean, Zouken is also expecting you to take advantage of your sister, pretty sure if you tried to subvert his orders, he'd either kill you or force you to do it, its not just about keeping Sakura alive, its to make her suffer and break her
>>
>>4385170
>>...have no choice but to go along with what Zouken wants. You can't safely get Sakura out of the house while the crest worms are actively trying to devour her
we're virgins right? We also don't know if we've ever jerked off before so we're probably super sensitive. As long as we calm down we will nut in seconds
>>
Fellas, we need to pick something besides encasing Sakura and us in a wall.

Create a field that makes any crest worms within the room dissolve.
>>
>>4385771
Yeah that’s retarded. Especially with Monica and gray coming to kick ass
>>
>>4385772
Worms are canonically in the walls too. Those will all converge the moment the dissolving happens, and we get worm'd. No way
>>
>>4385789
If we're sustaining the field they'd all melt.
>>
Why not just Truth death on to him? Technically he is dead so shouldn't that give us a boost in kill him with our magic?
>>
>>4385833
Probably not, but we could possibly reinforce our body to be quicker or more precise during the deworming.
>>
>>4385851
We're burning the worms, so precision and speed shouldn't be an issue. The real problem is that we don't have an escape route or an easy way to contact our allies.
>>
>>4385876
Don’t we have a cell phone or am I mistaken
>>
>>4385882
We do, but they don't.

why not wait for a better time? It doesn't hurt to satisfy the crest worms first and then proceed with the plan.
>>
plus, I'm really not convinced that manifesting truth here would really work out. Conceptual shit in nasuverse tends to have complicated interactions that aren't immediately obvious. Wishing to seal the room can have any number of side effects, and wishing Zouken dead might not work at all because as QM said before, conceptualizing a specific individual can be difficult. I'd caution everyone here against abusing Truth. (and feel subsequently "railroaded" if things don't work well) Let's just sate the crest worms first, then get Sakura out and kill Zouken in a less complicated circumstance.
>>
>>4385889
Oh lawd
>>
>>4385898
Honestly, it'd probably work out fine if we set the room to just melt any crest worms inside it or that enter it.
It's direct, to the point, and doesn't do anything dumb like blocking out air/light/gravity
>>
>>4385890
>>4385898
You're not going to get anywhere arguing caution, anon. We've been getting nothing but success updates and timeskip buffs for enough of the quest that players feel invincible, and like they can make anything work as long as they put together some kind of a plan. Even killing Zouken, one of the most durable characters in FSN, 2 years before the war. Look at what happened when we backed out of going along with Kerry. Even with QM confirmation that it would've been a hell of nonstop failure, we still had people bitching and moaning about how we would've made everything work out if we'd just stuck to it. The only way people are going to learn that Shinji has limits is if we go with one of these ridiculously audacious plans and die horribly.
>>
>>4385210
>because if we can use our charisma to get the opportunity to fuck off to the store for some condoms or some shit so we can do the above plan, i.e. claim we'll use the condoms to get her the energy, we could instead fill one of them with our blood or some shit and get it to her that way!
If this worked and Zouken let us leave, couldn't we just send in Monica and Gray?
>>
>>4385914
We could, but we also need to worry about the possibility of flying worms scouts or some shit. It's best to assume that now that he's paying attention to us, we need to be on our best behavior.
>>
>>4385912
Yeah, this quest has been smooth sailing so far but I am really concerned about how anons seem to overestimate Shinji's origin. The ability to decide what is true is, at first, quite powerful, but without pinpoint precision and knowledge about how the world works, it is very unpredictable. Take a straightforward concept like "see the future", Nasuverse has two kinds of precognition with completely different mechanisms and connotations about how time works. The stillness origin, while seemingly more about preventing movement, actually has weird interactions MEoDP, which in turn is "see how to kill something" made complicated. So many concepts are more than meets the eye, and eventually our ignorance would backfire.

>we still had people bitching and moaning
um, I guess I happened to be one of them, though not because I was confident. I just felt that it made the previous vote meaningless and a complete waste of time.

>>4385910
I'm not entirely sure what would happen to Sakura's body if the worms just suddenly stopped existing. Other anons voted for this approach, though, so I will not contend it.
>>
>>4385912
Honestly I just find bad ends interesting and in that case there was some blatant ass samefagging from the anti kerry alogs.

Can't we just burn the entire house down with the Truth flame and take out Sakura and Zouken that way?
>>
>>4386052
anon, we're not trying to kill Sakura
>>
What's with the resistance here?
We all knew this would happen, fortunately it'll only be once rather than over 2 years.
>>
>>4386064
I don't wanna rape Sakura anon.
>>
I feel like our only option is to just drug Sakura, set her on fire with the familiar destroying truth flames, then grab her and jump out the nearest window, hoping Monica and Gray will be able to intercept Zouken before he kills us. Alternatively after Sakura is being cured via Familiar flame we try to throw Zouken out of the window ourselves.

I mean if antagonizing Zouken before beginning to cure Sakura will result in the worms destroying her before we can save her, then we can't do anything to Zouken before then.

Alternatively could we take Sakura into a room then seal it so that only friends could enter it? Since enemies is too vague and everything would kill us somehow.

Alternatively could we use the truth flames to burn 'evil' so that they'd hurt Zouken as well as the worms, as while we don't fully understand Zouken to target him specifically we do think of him as one hell of an evil guy?
>>
>>4386077
>Alternatively could we use the truth flames to burn 'evil' so that they'd hurt Zouken as well as the worms, as while we don't fully understand Zouken to target him specifically we do think of him as one hell of an evil guy?
We can target the worms. We appearantly understand them enough to do so, so we make it so that any worms that are in or enter the room get destroyed.
If Zouken enters, the same would happen to him since he's made of worms.
>>
>>4385912
>The only way people are going to learn that Shinji has limits is if we go with one of these ridiculously audacious plans and die horribly.
I can think of worse ways, can only imagine the 180 players would make if we get hit with a hard penalty like 'burnout a magic circuit everytime we die'
>>
>>4386069
It's not even rape, its calming down the crest worms.
Shirou did it, and nobody calls him a rapist for doing it.

Sounds good, but it’s probably a bit late. Next update should be out soon judging by the time.

If that old bastard thinks he's going to get the better of you, then he can think again. You've already got a plan to save Sakura, and as long as you can signal Monica and Gray through the windows, then the plan can still continue. All you need to do is manifest the concept of 'Unable to be entered' on the room you take Sakura into, then you'll be able to go through with the procedure even with Zouken in the house. You only hope that Monica and Gray can actually get a message from here. Damn those two! Why can't they just have mobile phones like the rest of the civilized world?!

"Very well. Grandfather. But.... Is there no other way?" You pretend to plead with the old worm, but you know that it's a futile effort. It's only that you can't allow him to grow suspicious of you that you bother saying anything at all.

Zouken thinks that he has you, and tries to make a reassuring smile, not that it would ever be able to reassure anyone, nor is it actually supposed to. "I'm afraid so, Shinji. This is the only way to save Sakura from the suffering she's currently going through." Zouken lies. No, there's another way, Grandfather. But you aren't going to like it.

You walk up the stairs slowly. You really don't want to seem enthusiastic about things, for all Zouken knows, you're going upstairs with the intent to rape your sister, and not going upstairs with the intent to kill him once and for all. So despite the knowledge that Sakura is in pain and suffering right now, you still restrain yourself from going too quickly.

Soon enough, you're in Sakura's room. The girl is wearing a white nightdress and her eyes are closed. You can only tell of the incredible pain she must be going through from the pained expression of her face and the occasional spasm she makes. Is she even awake?

You walk up to Sakura and raise a hand to her cheek, cupping her face in one of your hands. You can't allow this sweet girl to continue suffering like this. No. You won't allow it! You then throw a chair through one of the windows. You don't know if Gray and Monica will be able to infer that the situation has changed from that, but it's the best that you can do in such a short time.

"No more." You take the necklace off with a flourish, snapping it off and unsealing your great magical power. Now you know that you have mere seconds before Zouken notices your deception, the ambient energy you release from taking off the necklace is enough to change the atmosphere of the room. You place your hand on the floor of Sakura's Room, visualizing the entire area. "I am Truth given form." You utter the first line of your aria, and you can feel your magecraft become more receptive to you. After visualizing the room, you apply a concept upon it. A concept that prevents absolutely anything from entering for as long as you keep the effect up. While you can exit the room freely, this room should be completely inaccessible to everything that exists.

The manifestation works, but you soon come to a terrible realization. It's taking far too much of your energy to keep manifested. As of right now, you won't even be able to make a cinder to clear Sakura of the worms, never mind an inferno. You keep the effect manifested regardless. Hopefully you can disable it when Gray and Monica have dealt with Zouken, but you can't actually hear anything going on from outside, just silence. Fifteen minutes of keeping up the manifestation, Sakura still squirms in pain, and strangely, it feels as if the air is getting harder and harder to breathe. You check your body to make sure you haven't taken any damage, yet you don't find anything. Could Zouken have managed to find a way through your defense? No. Impossible.

Another five minutes pass, and you are forced to kneel down on one knee. You feel... weak. It's all you can do at this point to keep the barrier around the room manifested. What is happening? This isn't the result of overusing your magecraft! That feels completely different! Then it hits you. The terrible terrible error you made. You made a room in which things can leave, but nothing can enter. You didn't restrict it to people either. Right now, this room is completely sealed off from the rest of the world. Of course, nobody can enter the room, but what also cannot enter the room is sound, for all you know, the battle between Monica, Gray and Zouken has already reached it's conclusion. But even more important than sound... is air.

You only have the strength in your body to attempt to change the manifestation once. You still can't disable it, otherwise Zouken might get in with his worms and it would all have been for naught. You have no idea what's going on outside, so it's just too risky to allow that to happen. Though as you crawl along the floor, you seen realize just how hopeless things are. You just... don't have the energy left in your body to make such an alteration to the room now. It's not a problem of magical energy either. But a problem that has arisen from depriving the human body of oxygen for too long. Things start to go blurry, and then you can no longer sustain your consciousness. The whole world goes pitch black as your body dies as a result of being deprived of it's most basic need.

DEAD END

you aren't locked into a route just because you had sex.
>>4386191
See, I view it in the completely opposite fashion. Our Shinji, unlike the original Shirou, actually has the potential to get rid of Zouken. Is it not the best, then, to maximize our chances and really commit to solving the root of Sakura's problems? Choosing to rush the plan, and therefore risking failure, just because of some instinctive distaste in having sex kinda sounds unreasonable.

You awaken with your body still lying on the floor in a pathetic heap, though the room you awaken in is a completely different one to the one you just died in. The polished wooden floor and the Japanese design could really only mean one thing...

"Hello! Is everyone doing fine?!" It's... Taiga. "After an eight year long delay, we have finally received our first new student!" She announces cheerfully. "I'd... introduce the Taiga Dojo more thoroughly, but you already have the gist of it, don't you, Makiri-kun? I suppose I'll just save them for Shirou-kun" Taiga skips the introductions of the Taiga Dojo. "The gist of it is is that you died!" Taiga looks around the room with an annoyed expression "This is usually where I'd have Student Number One say something, but a few years back she announced. 'Oh, don't be ridiculous, Shinji is far too smart to get himself killed before the grail war!' and took off. But I guess she was probably a little hasty in her judgement.

"While as nice as I find all this, Taiga. Can I go back yet? I do still need to save Sakura, after all." This mood whiplash is just too much. You just asphyxiated to death.

"Don't you dare try to skip this scene!" Taiga hits you on the head with the Tora-Shinai. It stings. Badly. "No! You need to know just what went wrong!" You rub your sore skull as Taiga begins to explain. "I'll keep things simple if you want to go back so quickly. You got too over-confident. While your magical skills are pretty great, you're still not immune to making a mistake like this one. You still need to breathe, after all! If Student Number One was here, she could probably provide some more insight, but she's not, so I'll just say this!"

Taiga points towards you. "You can't keep Zouken out of the room at the same time that you get rid of the worms."

"Wait? That's all the advice I'm getting? What does that even mean?! How does that even help?!" You yell at Taiga, who just shrugs at you as the doors of the dojo close and you find yourself floating in darkness for a few moments.

Air? I could understand Zouken taking over Sakura and killing us since his Crest Worm is in her so his soul could be argued to also be in here or him drawing prana from our spell to defend himself thereby forcing unsustainable cost upon us, but even in a smaller room we would have hours of air for two persons.

I mean I did expect a dead end, but suffocation is just.. what?
>>
>>4386278
It wasnt a sealed box.
It was a one way barrier.
Air could exit the room but not enter it. You also blocked out sound too, so you had no idea what was going on outside.
>>
>>4386278
normally yes, but this isn't a sealed container. air can't enter but can readily leave, and honestly there are many more ways to kill us with that wish.

If you want to argue for emptying the room of air that makes a lot more sense, even if we would have noticed that immediately. The air pressure rapidly falling is not something you easily miss.

Frankly not perceiving the outside world is not really a problem, if you are forced to drop the barrier or die then you really should drop it even if you can't perceive if Zouken is dead or not.

>>4386284

>>4386291
Shinji tried to alter the barrier to make an exception for air, but by the time he tried he was too late.
He also wouldn't have died from suffocating, and the manifestation would've ended when he fell unconscious anyway. Problem is all the crest worms in the house which are drawn to magical energy...
As for the air pressure, Nasuverse protagonists have a habit of ignoring crucial things that will lead to their death in Dead Ends.
Shirou didn't realize his feet had been eaten in one ending.

I honestly don't think OP would railroad Anons into having sleeping with their adopted sister being the only way forward. Even if it's perfectly morally justifiable given circumstances. I'm confident it would not result in any routelocks either.

>>
In retrospect, though, the mammoth overestimation of our abilities is kind of perfect. Here we are playing as Shinji, who we all know got absolutely fucked up in canon due to his belief that he was a special person who could do anything he wanted if he just tried it, and even with that knowledge the players have ended up manifesting the exact same apocalyptic level of arrogance and overconfidence in our ability to change any aspect of the situation however we want to. Overconfidence is the one thing no player in a Shinji quest should be susceptible, yet most of the playerbase is completely in a Shinji state of mind. Well done QM, if this is what you were going for.
>>
>>4386275
changing my vote to rid her of the worms quickly
>>
>>4386457
We aren't being railroaded, our lack of foresight has to lead to us getting caught in a sticky situation.
It was silly to think that Sakura was gonna be fine with Byakuya sick, and I'm sure if we hadn't spent all that time with Illya we would have been able to plan ahead before the bastard was too forgone, or at the very least notice that Sakura was growing sickly and add a method of getting her mana without fucking her into our plans.
We have nobody to blame but ourselves and if we want to get out of this situation with Sakura unmolested, we're gonna have to think out of the box with write ins rather than expect the QM to just throw us a bone.
OR we can just bite the bullet, either is fine, but don't expect any of the options provided to lead to anything but a swift death.
>>
Is sex winning?

>>4386475

3 days. This has obviously been going on longer. The mistake was thinking we could kill Zouken before the war at all, not in any of the prep or execution. When we have the help of someone like Caster, or better yet Dark Sakura herself, then we can deal with the old worm. Until then, I'm just waiting for the choice where we get the chance to open our eyes and realize we need to give up on killing him now.
>>
>>4386463
This is why I love this quest. People arguing and being salty bitches like canon Shinji too.
>>
>>4386490

You raise a very compelling point anon. I want more people to think of discussing this too. Is it possible to have both Sakura dewormed and able to fight normally using Absorption AND able to shift to Dark Sakura at will with full conscious control? All the while having good relations with Shinji, Shirou, Rin, etc.? Milking Shinji of all of his semen on a daily basis too?
>>
>>4386490
>3 days. This has obviously been going on longer.
Of course. Byakuya has been sick for a while, that was said already. But it's highly possible that he's only been dying, for 3 days. The health of a person can take rather drastic turns in a single afternoon, let alone 3 days and it could have been a pivotal time to better survey the field and come up with a plan before Byakuya was truly out for the count and Zouken would make his move on us.

Also if you really feel like this whole effort is doomed then you could just make a write-in to call it all off.
Be the Anti-Kerryfag you wanna see in the world.

>Is it possible to have both Sakura dewormed and able to fight normally using Absorption AND able to shift to Dark Sakura at will with full conscious control? All the while having good relations with Shinji, Shirou, Rin, etc.?
Survey says?
No.
But hey, you can always hope.
>>4386505
Like I said earlier, if that happens we're just going to see the same whining we had when we gave up on Kerry. People will stay convinced that it would've worked if we just hadn't given up. I want anons to go all the way with their mistakes, see just how bad it gets, and learn something. Then maybe we can be more rational and less cocky in the future.

>Impersonate canon Shinji mental hysteria about rightful Matou heir, "that useless trash" (Sakura) and that you have been thinking about it for a long time. Tell Zouken you are going to give her first time at the school on the table of son of Magus Killer whom she secretly loved all those years. After Zouken let you go with Sakura presumable towards school proceed with initial plan of deworming Sakura and letting Gray and Monica ambush Zouken.
With our Charisma and Zoukens fucked up worldview and plans this should have decent chance of working.
>>
>>4386508
I mean, saving Kerry would have worked. It was just hard and would have led to a bunch of dead ends, but that doesn't mean it was impossible.
You could be right, as we can see this path is full of dead ends. But unlike with saving Kerry which apparently wouldn't have had much of an effect on the plot, killing Zouken is not only one of the main goals of the quest, but will have untold effects on how things move forward beyond making some Anon's feel good.

Zouken might think he's got everything under control, and that he's going to break you just like he broke your father, but you've got a nasty surprise in store for him. While the situation is far from ideal, you can still see a path to victory open to you. Though it's going to be difficult, and your odds of survival are pretty grim no matter what. There's a part of you that realizes that it would be simpler to just go along with what Zouken wants and then orchestrate his death immediately after you've managed to eliminate the risk of the situation.

No. You've gotten so far now, that to do what Zouken wants would be to deny it all. If you can't even prevent something like this, what was all this effort in gaining strength for? "Alright, Grandfather. I'll do it. She'll be fine afterwards, right?" You know roughly how the process works, but seriously, what kind of a monster creates Crest Worms in the first place?

"Of course, Shinji." Zouken gives you an unnerving smile. He really thinks that you're going to go along with this sadistic plan of his. He really is a heartless monster. You suppose you'll see just how long that smile lasts when your own plan into action. "But you'd best hurry, you don't have long till the parasites start to consume her vital organs." You don't need any more encouraging as you hurry up the stairs. You're going to pay for this Zouken, and you're going to pay for it very soon.

You quickly enter Sakura's room, her eyes are closed and her expression is pained, she's wearing a white night dress as she takes pained breaths. Just how long has she been like this? How long has she suffered so greatly in your absence? How long has Zouken allowed this to happen? "Sakura." You call out to the girl, who opens her eyes to look up at you. "I'm here now. You don't have to worry anymore. I'm going to fix everything." Her confusion shows, even through her pain.

"Onii-chan? You... Are you...?" She sounds a little bit relieved at your arrival, even with the confusion she must be feeling at your words, and at the pain she must be feeling from the crest worms within her.

"Not at all, Sakura." You take hold of the fragment of the meteorite keeping your powers so thoroughly sealed and tear it off. "I'm finally going to make good on that promise of mine." You focus on your magecraft and begin to call forth a flame with the property that it will only purge 'familiars' A flame that will selectively burn the monstrous beings that call Sakura their host. "Forgive me if this stings, but I don't have much time." You raise the flame to her forehead, and her eyes go wide at the oddly cold fire. "I am truth given form." You utter the first line of the aria you are still in the process of finishing.
>>
The usage of the aria allows you to more easily manipulate the flame you have created, and you allow the small fireball to turn into a torrent of flame which coats your sister utterly. There's not a part of her body that goes untouched by the flame as it passes through her. There's screaming, but it's not Sakura doing the screaming. No, the screaming comes from two places at once. The louder scream emanates from within Sakura, an inhuman screech of death. Whilst the other scream comes from just outside the room, a more human sounding scream, and more one of pain and rage than of actual death. Sakura however has passed out. Unfortunate that you can't confirm her condition, but your glad that she's not in pain, at least. Despite the urgency, you place your hand on her chest to ensure her heart is still beating and your own heart calms a little when you find that it is.

You don't have long. While Sakura may or may not be free from the crest worms now, she's in no state to walk about. That hardly matters anyway, as you estimate you only have a few seconds before Zouken's now dying physical body comes to exact his vengeance.

That's when you notice though, that the crest worms have already made their way into the room. Dozens if not hundreds of them have already begun to burrow through the walls, all converging upon you and Sakura. As you begin to weigh your options, the door to the room finally opens, and there stands Zouken, his face twisted in an ungodly rage. "Shinji. What have you done?!" His voice is a gargling chorus of hatred. Seems like the destruction of his heart worm has really wrecked some havoc on the old man.

>"Something I've been planning for far too long, Grandfather. Now die." Turn the truth flame upon Zouken and the crest worms that make up his body.
>"Shut up. You're nothing but a side-villain." Reinforce your body, kick Zouken with enough force to disperse his body.
>"Saved Sakura." Grab hold of your unconscious sister, reinforce your body and leap through one of the windows.
>"You sound mad, Grandfather. You know, getting this angry in your old age is just asking for health issues. Allow me to demonstrate!" Use your magecraft to create a space which dissolves familiars. Melt the old man.

"Saved Sakura." Your response is simple and deadpan. You don't have time to antagonize Zouken right now. While you think that you managed to destroy his heart worm, you actually don't know if that will be enough to kill him by itself, and it's not unlikely the old bastard might even have some method to survive even that. But still, if the heart worm within Sakura is just a container for his soul should his main body be destroyed, then really, all you've managed to do is thoroughly upset the old man. After all if you had truly succeeded in the destruction of his soul, then he shouldn't be capable of being a threat at all!

You pick Sakura up in a princess carry and use the remaining magical energy that you can spare without going over your limits to reinforce your body to your peak. Blue lines show up all over your body as you push your body to beyond it's limits with your magecraft. You only just manage to get out of the way of a wave of crest worms that launch themselves towards you. While you're confident in your ability to reinforce your body, such things mean very little when you're up against creatures like crest worms, which consume magical energy. Your reinforcement is likely to just make yourself more susceptible to the creatures if anything. You face Zouken once again, your back to the window as the crest worms converge on you. Zouken allows himself a smile, even through his rage. "So, you somehow developed magic circuits after all? Perhaps it was a mistake to feed your mother to the crest worms after all. You even went so far as to destroy my heart worm. I'm not sure who it was that helped you plan this... Was it the Einzbern? Or perhaps little Rin Tohsaka?" This is bad, while the crest worms have stopped moving towards you, Zouken seems to be regaining his calm. "You're probably wondering why I'm not falling apart, aren't you? While it's true that you destroyed the core that was kept within Sakura's body, so long as a suitable container for my soul remains, I will not perish. I can create another more suitable container for my soul later on after disposing of you." Zouken reveals his ability to survive what you had hoped would be a fatal wound. "Though I really should thank you. After I have my worms consume you, I will have something of a perfect lesser grail. Sakura's body isn't rejecting the fragments of the Holy Grail even though you destroyed the crest worms containing them!" Zouken begins to laugh. "Congratulations, Shinji! You have helped me to create my own perfect Lesser Grail! Superior even to the Einzbern! Now... Die knowing the extent of your failure!" The old worm points towards you, and the hundreds of Crest Worms writhing across the floor bolt towards you with incredible speed that their biology shouldn't allow!
>>
"I don't think so!" You push off backwards as hard as you can, propelling yourself and the unconscious girl in your arms out of the house, disregarding the height of the room and just doing all that you can to escape from the house. You soar through the air and smash straight through the window. Smiling like a mad man at Zouken as you exit the room through the window. You fall for only about a second before landing hard on your back on the grass below. If it weren't for the reinforcement you've suffused your entire body with, your back would've snapped like a twig from the impact. Sakura is thankfully alright as you took almost the entire force of the fall on your own body. You peer upwards at the room you just escaped from and quickly realize that you don't at all have time to rest, as already winged worms are flying from the room and towards you with incredible speed, worse still, there are crest worms emerging from the foliage too! Just how many of these damn things has Zouken got?!

You leap up to your feet and start running as fast as your enhanced body can manage, but the winged insects Zouken seems to be using to pursue you are still too fast for you to truly evade. You really hope that nobody sees this going on. There you are, running far faster than is humanly possible down the street while you run away from huge flying insects with daggers for claws. Maybe you can just say that you're running away from Hornets? You are soon snapped out of your thoughts of keeping magic secret as one of the sharp claws of the flying insects embeds itself into your shoulder. If you were any weaker than you were, you're pretty certain that it would've cleaved your arm straight off. As it is, you shift Sakura's position into one that only takes a single arm and you grab hold of the horrid insect with your newly freed hand, crushing it with your enhanced strength.

You should have known that things weren't going to be so simple! You need to find an escape route, but you can't keep running away from the horde of insects flying after you forever. Damn it! Where the hell are Monica and Gray?! Surely they've realized that this wasn't part of your plan?! You dodge out of the way of another one of the Blade Wing Worms and slap it to the side, your physical strength being more than enough to cause the horrible creature to explode into gore. That's two down, only about one hundred and fifty seven left to kill! You know that if you get caught in the main horde of terrible monstrous insects pursuing you, you'd get stripped down to the bone in seconds. But how are you going to evade such a horde of flying death?

There's no choice. Garan no Dou is much too far away from you right now, and while you don't doubt that Touko would assist you in dealing with the insect horde following after you, you simply can't reach the damn place. There's no choice, you're going to have to try to get to Monica and Gray. You have no idea if they've actually begun their own attack on Zouken yet.

You start to run towards the direction that you think Monica and Gray will be in, you really have no idea just how long you'll be able to keep outrunning the swarm of insects pursuing you. Not only are your reserves of magical energy fairly low as a result of conjuring that flame to purge Sakura's body, meaning it's not feasible for you to keep this up for too long, but you're also running through the streets with the speed of a car as a horde of huge flesh eating insect creatures with blades for arms pursue you. This is the sort of stuff that gets Enforcers and Executors sent after you for being way too clumsy when it comes to keeping magecraft a secret. Oh well, you've only got to last a few years before the grail war, and with any luck, you should be able to keep multiple servants manifested after the end of the war. Between Rin, Illya, Sakura, and you, there should be more than enough magical energy to keep as many servants as you want around, even if the grail itself isn't capable of incarnating them without corrupting them. With multiple servants, the Clocktower will have no choice but to recognize the futility in attempting an assault on you.

You keep running and dodging the occasional strikes the Blade Wing Worms attempt to land on you. While the first few attacks from the creatures managed to get past your guard thanks to having a method of attacking you aren't at all used to dealing with, you've managed to adjust to their attacks now. Thanks to your experience in fighting and training your body, you've managed to already figure out just how to dodge their attacks and step out of the way of their blades, even at high speed.

The chase feels a lot longer than it actually is, as a result of the constant dodging you are required to do as more and more of the insects catch up to you and you find it more and more difficult to kill them faster than they gain on you. For all your confidence in being able to dodge the strikes of a small number of the worms, it's a totally different story if you get surrounded, at that point you're doomed and so is Sakura.

"Shinji-kun! Duck!" A voice yells out from the window of a nearby building. It's thankfully the voice of an ally. Monica, to be precise. You happily oblige her instruction and dive to the ground, you have complete faith in the words of the woman. "Kettenblitz!" You hear her quickly cast as spell, and you actually feel the power of the spell even with your face staring at nothing but the floor. The electricity she brings forth is so hot that you can feel the warmth of the magic even from your prone position.
>>
Only a few moments after she's uttered the word, you can hear the satisfying sound of electricity frying living creatures, followed by those creatures dropping to the floor, one after the other the blade wing worms fall to the thankfully empty residential streets. You start getting up off the floor with Sakura still in your arms when you notice the approach of somebody from behind you. Though you calm yourself when you realize it's only Monica, having leapt from her vantage point with reckless abandon.

"Are you alright, Shinji-kun?" The woman questions you on your well-being, as well as the multiple cuts you managed to earn from Zouken's familiars.

"I've had worse." The cuts will fade very quickly thanks to your infantile reality marble, while you don't know what exactly it's true purpose is, you've found that one immensely useful feature is the healing it offers you. Cuts like this would usually take weeks to heal up properly, but instead they magically close up as if they were never there in the first place. "The mission... well, there's been something of a change of plans. I've destroyed Zouken's heart worm. All that remains is killing his current body and that's the last we'll ever be seeing of him."

"Right. Shall we get going?" Monica looks towards the Matou Mansion with determination in her gaze. She's pretty angry, you can tell just from the expression cast upon her face as she looks at your home.

"What about Gray? Where is she?" You were expecting the two of them to be together, after all.

"I had no choice but to send her to round up and hypnotize any witnesses to what just went down. She's got little actual magical skill, but she is capable of hypnotizing mundane people, so I sent her to make sure that word of a boy running as fast as a car drives away from a horde of deadly huge flying bugs doesn't spread out of control." Oh. That makes some sense, you suppose. You're thankful that Monica has more respect for the laws of magical secrecy than either you or Zouken do, at the very least.

"I see, but there's just one more problem." Monica raises an eyebrow and you gesture to the unconscious girl in your arms. You can't just go leaving Sakura in a place that isn't safe now of all times. Not when Zouken will stop at nothing to retrieve her from you.

>Leave the unconscious Sakura in the apartment you bought and then go after Zouken in the mansion.
>Take Sakura with you to the Matou Mansion. It can't be that dangerous with Monica there, right?
>Leave Sakura with Touko at Garan no Dou. It's a fair walk, but it's the absolute safest place there is.

She said she wouldn't help us with killing Zouken, but making sure nobody fucks with Sakura is the least she could do. And Monica is one of the few people that know we're training with Touko it should be fine to make a quick stop over there.

Touko will tell you to fuck off because she didn't care to get involved the first time you met her and Shirou, god bless his soul, is a defenseless maniac that will get himself killed trying to protect Sakura if Zouken finds that Sakura is at his house. Rin, however, is an extremely skilled Magus and will die for her sister, she hates us but she's not gonna tell us to fuck off when we're asking her to help her unconscious little sister

Rin can't protect Sakura from Zouken, this is the safest place she can be right now.
>>
>>4388885
you're also assuming that Touko is going to help you, at best, she'll just let you leave Sakura there and not do anything when Zouken comes to pick her up, at worst, she'll tell you to piss off because killing Zouken is your problem and you should be able to deal with the fallout yourself. She's not gonna change her tone after nearly a decade of her student training specifically so he can stop his little sister from getting wormed. Also, you're underestimating how powerful and driven Rin is
>>

Shinji thinks it's the safest place for her to be, and he's the one who's been apprenticing under her.

Another question, the magic eating necklace remained in the mansion, right? We should recover it at some point, until then we’re walking around with our power level on our sleeve... We should've put the meteor in our pocket after ripping it off.
I doubt Shinji would throw away something that integral to his blending in so easily.
I don't think walking around carrying your sister will garner too much negative attention either.
Gray is going to fight Zouken, so going to Shirou for assistance with healing may be too hasty, and he's even less equipped to deal with Zouken than Rin is.

Remember bounded fields protecting the Tohsaka mansion better than Emiya residence, PLUS Zouken's target being Shinji and not Sakura. We stressed this before: Touko will not help us on our trial here. This is all up to Shinji. Doesn't going to Rin make it so all those times people voted "Find Rin", "Talk to Rin, get her to not hate you as much" results in a galaxy brain moment that wasn't there in hindsight.

Ultimately, Rin is best choice.

>Screw it. Just have Monica destroy the entire damn mansion.
>>
>>4389148
She said she wouldn't save Sakura from Zouken, we've already accomplished that.
All that's left is getting rid of a 500 year old corpse, which we're also in the midst of doing.
Garan no Dou is also a great place to stabilize Sakura's condition, and Shinji thinks it's the safest place for her to be.
Rin's house didn't even show up on the list of options, so he obviously doesn't have a high opinion on her ability to assist with the situation, and frankly, with the way Zouken duped Caster into getting killed I'm not confident in Rin's ability to absolutely protect Sakura either.
>>
>>4389159
we're not out of the woods yet, Zouken is still alive and wants us dead and Sakura captured, we didn't accomplish anything yet, we're just in the middle of doing things and getting Sakura to Garan no Dou just drags Touko into a situation she doesn't wanna be apart of. Also we have no idea why QM didn't put Rin as an option
>>
>>4389163
We cleaned out Sakura, and got two people to blitz Zouken, and Shinji thinks it's the safest place for her to be.
Zouken could mess with Caster even in her workshop, I don't think the Tohsaka bounded fields will be able to stop Zouken from getting inside.
There's also the Tohsaka fault of always messing up right at the end to consider.
Touko didn't want to save Sakura to motivate us to become her apprentice, whether or not she helps us now, that specific motivation will die down after this incident, I don't think she has much reason to refuse our or Sakura's presence now.

Then a new idea comes to mind. Of course, while you could try heading to Emiya's house, it's a pretty long way from here. Same goes for Garan no Dou. Though your pretty certain that Touko would be able to properly protect Sakura. You've already rescued your sister, after all, and there's no way that Touko will just allow a hostile magus to get away with attacking her workshop. Though if she didn't accept you probably could've just offered to pay her money.

The thought of Touko as a destitute but talented magus gives you a flash of inspiration. Of course! Rin! Not only is she guaranteed to help you, but she's a far safer choice than Emiya! The bounded fields on the Tohsaka Residence should be more than enough to keep out some unwanted Crest Worms, after all.

"Come on, Monica. I've got an idea of where we can safely leave Sakura before we go and deal with Zouken once and for all." You tell your ally as you begin jogging towards Rin's house. You aren't reinforcing your body nearly as much now, instead only increasing your physical abilities a small amount thanks to having to allow Monica to keep up with you. You don't know just how much experience she has with reinforcing herself or generally enhancing her physical abilities, so you don't want to sprint off at the speed of a car. She does however manage to easily keep up with you even despite your minor enhancements and your already peak physique, seemingly without even needing to use magecraft at all. That's just unfair.
>>
[Tohsaka Residence]

Rin considered herself to be prepared for almost anything that could happen. Being a magus really does require you to keep an open mind about what may or may not be possible, but today...? Today just wasn't something she ever could've prepared for. Having opened up her front door to somebody knocking rather consistently, she had every intention of telling an over-eager door-to-door salesman just what he could do with whatever it was he was peddling, however, instead of a door-to-door salesman, it was somebody even worse! Sakura's 'brother' Shinji had decided to pay a visit, but what's more, he was carrying Sakura in some sort of princess carry as the door opened! Almost as if he was rubbing in the fact that he stole her sister from her!

It was all she could do not to just knock him unconscious with Gandr on the spot. It was only that it might have hurt Sakura that she refrained... and, well. The woman that Shinji has accompanying him looks kind of dangerous. He begins speaking with the unconscious Sakura still in his arms. "I saved your sister, Rin. Well, almost. I still need to kill Zouken, but so long as he doesn't get his disgusting hands on her again, she ought to be fine." He says something completely ridiculous. 'Saved' Sakura? What the hell is he talking about? Did Sakura need to be saved?

"W-what are you talking about, Matou-san?" Really, it's something of an accomplishment that she managed to keep her cool at all.

"It's a really complicated story, and I'd probably need over 800 thousand words to properly tell it to you." What is he talking about? This boy is completely infuriating! Not to mention that he was apparently a magus all along, Rin could tell that now she had gotten over her initial shock of seeing him with Sakura. Is he reinforcing his body? That's supposed to be incredibly dangerous, and he's just using it passively? "All I need you to do is to allow me to keep Sakura safe in the bounded fields of this Mansion."

"I'm going to need you to tell me what exactly you needed to save Sakura from before I agree to anything, Matou-san." She's not about to trust Shinji. While the boy has always shown himself to be a perfect student and he's affable to everyone around him most of the time, she really doesn't trust him. People who act like that usually only do so because their hiding some big secret about themselves. Especially now that he's revealed that he was able to use magecraft to this degree this entire time!

"Damn it Tohsaka! I just told you I don't have the time for this. But fine. It's because Zouken was turning your sister into a Lesser Grail for the purpose of taking control of her. He was going to use Sakura to become immortal through the Holy Grail!" Shinji gets angry at even being asked the question, and she is about to respond with her own anger until the words Shinji spoke sink in.
>>
"He... what?" The words make her freeze in place. No. That can't be right, can it? Could something like that really be happening to Sakura? It takes some effort for Rin not to dismiss Shinji's explanation outright. But eventually, she manages to accept it. After all, if what Shinji is saying is true, it means that she'll get her sister back.

"Now will you help me?" The boy pleads with her, and there's a tone in his voice that she just can't refuse. It's a strange thing, but it's almost as if despite how she might have felt about the idea of helping Shinji before, the presence of Sakura has really made it difficult for her to refuse him, not to mention that there's just something about how he asked her that makes her want to accept.

"Fine. But you're going to give me the full story after you've managed to kill Zouken. I take it this woman is..." Rin looks over at the woman accompanying Shinji. Rin can tell just by looking that the woman is dangerous, she's probably the most skilled killer that she's ever seen. Well, between her and that fake priest, at least.

"Monica Eisenmann." The older woman introduces herself coldly. "I'm a friend of Shinji-kun's, and I've agreed to help him kill his ancestor." What. Where did Shinji even find a woman like this? Actually no, how did he befriend a woman like this? This woman is the sort that won't open up to anyone, she can tell that just by the way that this woman is acting as cold as ice towards her for no discernible reason.

"Right. Well, come in and lay Sakura down on one of the couches. Then go and... kill Zouken. I'd offer to help, but I assume that you want me here protecting Sakura, right?" While she would like to help actually deal with the bastard who was trying to use Sakura like that, there's no point if Sakura would be in danger. She's definitely going to kick Shinji's ass for not telling her about all of what was happening with Sakura until today though.
>>
"Right." Shinji starts to leave. "I'll be back shortly, Tohsaka-san." The boy declares his intent to kill a magus with far, far more experience than him with utmost confidence. Just where does all that confidence come from, anyway?

"Try not to die. Matou-san." If worst comes to worst though and he does, she might have to get Kirei involved in killing Zouken. He's theoretically supposed to protect her from threats like Zouken attacking anyway. But then he might insist on actually staying at the Tohsaka mansion instead of the meager accommodations that the Church forced him into for allowing the entire Fuyuki Church to be demolished by an unknown enemy. They even went so far as to send in new agent of the Church to help oversee the process of rebuilding the Fuyuki Church, to make sure that things go as smoothly as possible. Though she hasn't seen this so called agent of the Church once in the years since the rebuild began. She turns to the sleeping girl on the sofa and runs a hand through her hair, whispering under her breath. "Welcome home, Sakura."

[Outside the Matou Residence]

You look over at the imposing building, knowing that Zouken is still somewhere within it. Now is the time. Now is the moment when you finalize everything you've worked towards. You're going to put an end to Zouken's life, and you're not going to let anything get in your way! But really though, you're going to need a plan of attack.

>Just charge through the front doors with Monica, kill everything that gets in your way.
>Set fire to the mansion. Smoke Zouken out.

Even going it alone would be alright. Having ridiculous broken powers and making every somewhat sympathetic character from the source material into our friend just puts us totally over the line in my view. Rin was kind of my last hope.

The past couple of threads have been the backstory of our route of Fate/Stay Night, prolonged character generation. As long as the "challenge" of the upcoming war, once we take the training wheels of foresight off, meets the level of power we've come to cultivate, I'll be happy.
Battleground > Playground.
I have no doubt in my mind that shit is bout to be turnt and we'll need every advantage we can get to get through it.
>>
>>4389420
Look, your route of just teaming up with Illya is pretty lame, having a waifu is cool and all but not to the detriment of other characters, having a group of friends to rely on and make into better people is where its at though
>>
>>4389415
Bruh, there are more then enough people to hate in Nasuverse.
>>
>>4389423
I'm waiting for us to actually get with somebody already. Rin is intrigued now especially after seeing Monica. We have lots of options.
>>
>>4389424
This is exactly the problem, a lack of sympathetic antagonists. If everyone we don't hate is on our side, it just makes things very boring. I was excited for Rin to be at odds with us in the war because she's one of the original heroines and people know she's a decent person deep down, despite her massive flaws. We shouldn't only be struggling against "people to hate".
>>
>>4389427
I mean, Sakura would absolutely do it with us if we asked, especially after we kill Zouken. She was already lowkey obsessed with us before, afterwards, it wouldn't be surprising if she goes straight to hero worship. Wouldn't mind Rin though, especially since she doesn't actually like us as of now but that might change
>>
>>4389423
>a group of friends to make into better people
Well, you've got the arrogance down pat at least. Maybe we're more like a quarter or a third Shinji.
>>
>>4389427
Sadly we’re getting too old for the best girl... Monica

Regardless, friends, please keep in mind that happy ending does not necessarily mean “ends up with MC”. I’m sure most are aware of that. Wishing well for a name does not need to interfere with waifu wars at all.
>>
>>4389431
Seems pretty retarded to be antagonistic towards decent people that Sakura cares about just to make the story harder
>>
>>4389435
Maybe we could truth ourselves back into being a shota somehow.
>>
>>4389437
I'm not arguing for trying to force Rin to hate us. Like I said, the situation before where we tried to reach out to her and she wasn't interested, was pretty good. We probably only have one time skip left now so I don't think we have much of a chance to make things worse than they already are, but if I could change what we'd already done it wouldn't be to actively alienate people; just to reach out to less.
>>4389435
Thank god for that. Hopefully we can foist Sakura, Rin, and Saber all off on Shirou.
>>
>>4389431
That’s a justification to give a story a bad review on vndb or something to stroke own ego but as basis for in character decision making it’s worthless drivel.
>>
I don't really have a problem with what players have tried to do so much. The "make everybody happy" goal seems misguided since the main point of F/SN was that everyone who tries that gets destroyed, but if you want to shoot for the stars that's noble enough. I just think WhatIs has let us get away with way too much, to be honest.
>>
>>4389442
nah Sakura and maybe Rin is for us, Shirou can have Illya and Saber though
>>
>>4389446
That's cool man, this isn't FSN, this is Fate/Paradox Reincarnator, where the whole goal since the start is to save everyone and give them a good ending, we even went out of our way to meet Illya, the girl who squashes Shinji in one of the two meetings they have
>>
>>4389447
I'll quote an active anon from the earlier threads here. No old pussy. The original three heroines are off limits.
>>
>>4389446
>I just think WhatIs has let us get away with way too much, to be honest.
You're still basically in the story's prologue.
You may find that things are not so easy in the actual grail war.
>>
I also want us to get more info on that dream we had.
>>
>>4389455
HGW probably
>>
>>4389442
I suppose we could encourage Sakura to hang around with Shirou? Rin doesn't really like us enough to matter, and saber might not even be in the quest. I do agree that being friends with everyone cheapens the relationships somewhat atleast.
>>
>>4389452
Especially Saber, Saber is only for Shirou
>>
>>4389457
Rin will likely get to know us a lot better by our last exchange and her inner monologue.
>>
>>4389442
>Hopefully we can foist Sakura, Rin, and Saber all off on Shirou.
Saber and Rin are for Shirou.
Sakura is for making emotionally independent, so she doesn't need to be foisted onto anyone.

>>4389454
Exactly what i've been saying.
Utterly Based.
>>
>>4389452
sounds fucking stupid except for Saber, Saber is for Shirou
>>
>>4389462
Why the fuck would you want to romance a girl you've already romanced before?
Out with the old shit, in with the new possiblities that are only possible with the advent of this quest.
FUCK OLD HOES.
NEW PUSSY ONLY!
>>
>>4389463
>FUCK OLD HOES.
That's exactly what he wants to do, because he's a Tohsakafag.
>>
>>4389462
You are fighting against the entire thread, most of us are chasing the loli route that nasu did not give us. If you want to fuck Sakura or Rin then just reread UBW or HF
>>
>>4389463
This is a completely different story though.
>>
>>4389454

You've yet to meet all the characters yet.
How can you be so sure of this?
>>
>>4389495
Naturally I was referring only to the characters we know so far. If you can write a loli to top Illya though, I'll be pretty shocked.
I'd probably put Sacchin 3rd ranked after Illya and Manaka, though. I do feel for her, and we've set up a good bond with the birthday visits.
>>
The idea of an Alt romance being anything but a prolonged bad end is a total meme, but we'll see what happens.
I have faith in WhatIsAQ to make the process of winning her genuine affections a fun, if not incredibly tense and uphill experience.
That is, if we aren't already tied down by then and have to spend out time with her defending our then waifu from Monkey Slaughter.

>>4389495
I find it hilarious that Shinji has been low key dating Sacchin for the past few years, and we haven't really gotten a real scene with her since her introduction.

>>

>>
>>4389519
We have enough waifu options.
We need more bros to temper everyone's obsession with Shirou and round out the cast.

>>4389522
I get the feeling that Medusa will always dislike us to some extent. We're basically the definition of the type of guy she hates. We are a "successful Shinji", even if we're tempered by a genuinely kind heart.

>>4389524
Worry not friend, there's more loli servants where she came from.
>>
>>4389537
then again, she sees a lot of herself in Sakura and we're the guy that came and rescued her before she went nuclear, we're less like Perseus and more like the hero that never came to save Medusa from being Gorgon
>>
>>4389538
I don't know who would I want as our bro. Teddy Roosevelt would be based af, but on the other hand we could see Perseus getting bullied by Medusa.
>>
>>4389538
That's why I said, "to some extent".
On the one hand, we'd probably always remind her a ton of the shitty guy from her past and there might always be that inherent bias against us.
On the other hand, we aren't Perseus and with Sakura here actively vouching for Shinji, Medusa will probably come to open up to us.
I'd say she never be as comfy with us as she becomes with Shirou, but she'll learn to be less hostile if we don't give her a reason to be beyond existing. It might take a while though and getting to that point should be a fun time.
>>
>>4389542
I think its an interesting relationship to explore because there is a contradiction of what we remind Medusa of and what we actually are but there's a good chance she won't be summoned and we won't see that relationship flourish

>>4389540
Perseus would be based
>>
>>4389544
A reminder that there's always the possibility we aren't chosen by the grail and Sakura will need to summon the servant.
>>
>>4389548
I mean, I want Sakura, Rin and Shirou to summon their respective servants
>>
>>4389550
Same and it's kinda what I'm expecting, but with how fucking turnt shit has gotten I'm not willing to count any of these damn chickens before they finally hatch.

>>
>>4389571
wdym? I'm not letting Illya kill Shirou
>>
>>4389571
As Illya said, if we aren't chosen by the grail then we are to "take care" of the current master from our house and take their servant. If we are chosen, we will meet Illya at the Einzbern castle and summon a servant using our own catalist or one provided to us.
>>
>>4389571
>>4389578
yeah uh, idk about you guys but I'm not gonna kill Sakura just to look good in front of Illya

>>

>yeah uh, idk about you guys but I'm not gonna kill Sakura just to look good in front of Illya
Yeah and since after this we will be the head of the Matou house we don't really need to.

Honestly if Sakura is chosen, that servant is ours anyway, no killing necessary. Canon Shinji could take control of Medusa from her without killing her, there's no way we can't work the same thing out. You know Sakura won't have a problem handing control of her servant to her savior brother. "Take care of" in this case just means "ask her for the servant."
>>
>>4389595
>Honestly if Sakura is chosen, that servant is ours anyway, no killing necessary.
Yeah, that's what I've been saying.
The only real problem is the potential of an Einzbern freak out at our capacity to take out Zouken. Before Acht saw us as a useful tool, a young failed magus betraying his family to get back at his grandfather. But now that young failed magus has achieved the stated goal that he claimed he was working with you to obtain.
So why the fuck is he here? How the fuck did he do what he did? What isn't he telling us?
Suffice to say, we have some explaining to do, and as I'm sure you remember, the Einzbern aren't very fond of liars.
>>
>>4389605
Another reason why I voted against trying to kill Zouken early. Oh, well. I just hope we can salvage our budding relationship with Illya.
>>
>>4389605

>Worry not friend, there's more loli servants where she came from.
I think it might've been brought up before, but if everyone's on the table Abigail would be pretty ideal.
>>
>>4389611
You shouldn't ask how hard would it would to kill Acht, you should ask how we will kill Acht.
>>
>>4389625
It probably won't be any harder than Zouken, the problem is getting Illya on our side, which is gonna be tough considering that we just murdered her only family member
>>
>>4389630
Guess we will have to put our god level charisma to some use if we want to acquire Illya and all of Acht's maids.
>>
>>4389625
We really don't have a reason to till after the war, and by that time circumstances will be so different that making a plan this far in advance is kind of pointless.
>>
>>4389651
he destroyed Illya's lifespan and kept Kerry away from her, good enough reason for him to die
>>
>>4389607
>Another reason why I voted against trying to kill Zouken early.
I'm not gonna lie to you bud, I like Illya as much as the next guy but I think it's more than a worthwhile trade.
If being forced to rape our sister for two years is what it takes to get Illya route, then it's not worth it.
Luckily I don't think that's the case and we should be able to at the very least win Illya's trust even if we need to look behind our shoulder for Acht more than we would have. Dealing with the Einzberns might be a bit of an uphill battle from here on out, but if you ask me that makes things more fun.

>>4389614
A reasonable explanation for the why, and one we hinted at before.
Doesn't explain the how though, but I'm sure we could bring Monica with us to show off how beast mode she is.

>>4389622
Bruh, Abigail is cute as hell, but I REALLY don't want to deal with Foreigner bullshit until at least after the war.
>>
>>4389654
That has nothing to do with timing, which is what I posted about.
>>4389658
Abigail is cute as hell and all, but the big reason is that I REALLY want to deal with Foreigner bullshit ASAP
>>
>>4389658
>If being forced to rape our sister for two years is what it takes to get Illya route, then it's not worth it.
Absolutely based, now I wanna help you with Illya route for sacrificing your waifu's love for a greater cause
>>
>>4389658
>If being forced to rape our sister for two years is what it takes to get Illya route, then it's not worth it.
I don't really see it as that kind of tradeoff. The Illya thing is just one more reason I voted against it, not the whole reason. Killing Zouken before the war just doesn't sit right with me, and I'd be against it regardless of Illya's situation. That we tried is fine I guess, we had good reasons and I do think our Shinji should be very motivated to save Sakura, but I hope Zouken survives this. It feels like taking one of the founders out of the war just isn't something that should happen; he's too big of a figure in the events to just get wiped out in advance. It's as bad as if we'd gotten Marysbury involved or something.
>>
>>4389662
I suppose we're at an impasse in this regard my friend. I do think the Foreigner bullshit will come eventually, but adding them in now would just fuck with the power scaling. It's the same reason why Tsukihime shit is happening after the war because if it happened before and we made it out, we'd potentially turn everything that came after into a huge joke.

>>4389663
> I wanna help you with Illya route for sacrificing your waifu's love for a greater cause
You paint me as nobler than I am.
I really don't think we've sacrificed it completely, not gonna lie. It's gonna be harder sure, but the hope isn't completely lost.

>>4389677
I can understand where you're coming from, but it's not like this is coming out of nowhere. We spent years trying to do exactly this. We collected the resources, made and executed our plan, and now we reap what we've sown. There's also the idea that as much emphasis we've put on Zouken, he's not even that much of a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Zouken is a hard to kill bastard, but hard to kill bastards are a dime a dozen in the greater Nasuverse.
Fuck man, we've met Ape Terminator and his handler!
And I've explained, while there are some major benefits to killing Zouken early, I'm sure there will be something new to fill the void in the story he left. WhatIsAQM isn't a dummy, and I trust him to provide us with an interesting story with challenges and struggle to counter how powerful we seem to be currently and how well things seem to be going for us.
Just you wait.
>>
>>4389689

You're pretty lost as to how you should go about the next stage of the attack, but that's alright. That's one of the reason your brought along an ally as experienced as Monica, anyway. Not only is she tremendously powerful with her magecraft, but she's also got a lot more expertise in tactical decisions like this. Especially against enemy magi. "Monica-san. You're the expert here, what do you suggest we do next?"

"Hmm... Well, usually, the last thing that a magus is expecting when they've set up loads of intricate bounded fields for the purpose of defending themselves is for the attacker to to completely disregard their efforts and work around them. Magi generally tend to be narrow minded like that. They convince themselves into thinking that things will always work out in the way they envision, even when the evidence is... piled up against them." Monica seems to recall a painful memory as she finishes that sentence. "But it's good for me. It means that they never expect it when I just do this!"

Electricity begins to crackle around Monica as she fetches a small sphere of iron from one of her pockets before tossing it up in the air and pointing towards it. "Magnetschienenkanone!" She points up at the iron sphere in the sky. "Bereit zu schießen!" bolts of electricity slam into it over and over again until it glows with power. "Schießen!" She points a finger towards the Matou Residence and the glowing ball of iron that was floating in the sky disappears. A few moments after it vanishes before your very eyes, you can see the effects of it smashing downwards into the Matou Residence, completely obliterating some of the rooms of the house and causing some pretty tremendous damage to a few other rooms too. Well, Zouken probably wasn't expecting that, you've got to say. You hope that nothing too important got damaged, but thankfully, it seems to have only really damaged a few lesser used rooms, like the kitchen and the dining room, as well as a few guest bedrooms upstairs. The damage isn't too catastrophic that you won't be able to have it repaired, at least.

"Incredible..." Still, you can't help but be awed by Monica's display of her strength once again. Just how is this woman so strong? You've been meaning to ask her for the secret to her strength for a while now, but you're pretty certain that not many modern magi should be able to compete with the likes of Aoko without some incredible trick up their sleeve or unique circumstances, so what makes her electricity based magecraft so special?
>>
"Now isn't the time for dawdling, Shinji-kun! Let's go!" Monica rushes into the building and you follow her, you're pretty certain that the force of the impact would've completely pulped any crest worms that were even near the attack when it struck, and the splattered stains of red painting the walls, floor and ceiling of the destroyed room confirm that suspicion of yours. "Well, it looks like either I got a lucky shot and splattered the target... or he's waiting somewhere else for us and intends to lead us into a trap..." She looks about the house and of the damage already done. "You... You're not going to take this out of my pay, right? I might've been a little hasty about... uhm... Destroying your house." She gets a little flustered upon realizing that she just put a huge hole through your house without even confirming if it was OK or not. While you could've done without the place being destroyed, it's not like the building holds any real sentimental value to you, and you're pretty certain most of Zouken's more expensive and rare artifacts are hidden down below the house anyway. The only room you don't really want getting destroyed is Sakura's room, it's where she keeps all the things you got her over the years, after all. So not only would destroying Sakura's room upset Sakura, it would also mean that you wasted all that time in actually getting her those things in the first place!

"No... No, it's alright, Monica-san. I know that you meant well and I'm more impressed by the strength of that last attack of yours if I'm honest. That was like some sort of Noble Phantasm!" You try to keep the excitement out of your tone as you praise her.

"Oh no. It's nothing nearly as impressive as that. It's just that I was born to have a very efficient magecraft that allows me to exploit the modern world. Where many other magi would suffocate and be less effective in places where humanity has prospered like a city." She pokes around the destroyed room and looks for any surviving crest worms as she explains her abilities to you. "Whereas other magi might try to draw off the magical leylines to gain magical energy, I was born with an incredibly unique sorcerous trait. I can draw in and convert electrical energy from my surroundings into my own magical power. It's something that other magi would look down on me for. I mean, honestly, who's ever heard of a magus who's only effective thanks to humanity's continued destruction of mystery?" Her face pales a little as she reveals her secret to you. That probably helps explain her disdain for magi then, she's fundamentally incompatible with their way of thinking.

"You shouldn't sell yourself short, Monica-san. You really are incredibly powerful! I'm sure there are at least a few Noble Phantasms less impressive than what you just did!" Yeah... More than a few. But seriously, that ability to transform electricity into magical energy is unbelievably powerful! If magi weren't so stubborn, they wouldn't cast her out for such a power, they'd embrace it! You quickly realize that in confines of a city, Monica effectively has an infinite amount of energy. What a truly ridiculous women she is. Though it's pretty clear to you now just how she was capable of fighting Aoko, Monica could theoretically fire off as many of those magnetic cannonballs as she wants!

Monica blushes slightly at your continued praise, though there's really no need for her to. You're just being honest with her. She really is remarkably strong, and anyone that might refuse to acknowledge her abilities would be a fool indeed. "L-let's just keep moving, shall we? I've confirmed that there were no survivors among whatever was in this room before I attacked... Though it's really all down to you where we should check to find your ancestor. It's your house and he's your 'grandfather', after all."

Prefer her as a sister than a wife. Also might be a hard shotacon so we're out of her age range anyway lol.

I'd also bring up Luv for everyone's consideration before throwing her out with the others.

The sad truth of the matter is that we currently lack real mega milf options, but given how fucked the timeline is, I'm sure WhatIsAQM will have our back in that regard. For variety's sake, we're bound to get a venus bodied babe introduced at some point.
I know it's a hard thing to do, especially with folks so fervently fighting for their specific pick, but I'm of the mind to wait until we have all our options on the table before committing in any real way.

Downstairs feels most likely, if he’s cooking something up it seems like most obvious place for him to be.

Expect traps though. Did the man have trapdoors or sliding floors? Plus it might be more difficult to draw electricity if he insulated his workshop somehow...
>>
>>4390603
Actually, could we pinpoint the place for Monica to railgun, if we know the layout? A penetrating blow might be better suited than general destruction of what’s above ground. How does sacchin’s mana drain ability interact with Monica’s electricity drain? I’m guessing it would impact Monica’s absorbed energy but not prevent her from drawing more, leaving her with distinct advantage in any magic involving fight?

>>4390732
Depletion Gardens would cut Monica off from the electricity around her just by being a reality marble, same as what UBW or any other marble would do.
Then the magical energy drain of the marble would come into effect and start stealing her energy.
Sacchin as a vampire is a hard counter to Monica.

What?
After a while, seeing characters with incorrect proportions just becomes a natural thing.
I've looked through lots of fanart to find images I like, after all.

Slightly related to incorrect art, I like how Waver is actually a Saberface.
>>
>>4390940
>After a while, seeing characters with incorrect proportions just becomes a natural thing.
Fair enough. But you gotta know when fucked shit is fucked shit.
That's one of the reasons I'm so autistic about measurements. We must know the cold hard facts so we can deviate from them without losing sight of what's real, lest we all go around grasping at tids that aren't there.

As for Waver being a Saber face, the real question is who isn't?
Takeuchi Takashi has a real problem with sameface in general honestly, but his love for Saber, in particular, is so ridiculous people tend to focus on that quirk instead of more practical complaints.
>>
>>4390952
Waver is a saberface?

"Well there's only one place I can envision him having gone to hide after suffering such a defeat. The basement. The main storage for all of his familiars. It's undoubtedly going to be incredibly dangerous, but if we keep our wits about us, we should be fine. Zouken has probably set up a lot of traps down in the basement though." You give your analysis on the situation. If you're actually going to kill Zouken once and for all, you're going to need to actually find the old bastard. Whatever it is that he's doing can't be good for either you or Sakura. So you aren't going to allow him to continue.

"Downstairs huh? Alright, Shinji-kun. But I've got a real bad feeling about going down there." Monica shows some hesitation, to be expected really. It's the hesitation that years of experience would grant somebody when they knew that they were practically walking straight into their enemies trap.

"So do I, but if we don't then there's simply no way that we'll be able to get rid of Zouken. You need to take some risks in order to get what you want, after all. Besides, you can kill those familiars of his with ease, right? You also have no worry of running out of magical energy, so you should be able to handle them all."

"Right. Nothing to worry about then... Which way do we go to reach the stairs down anyway?" Monica's hair seems a little spikier as she asks the question "I'll lead the way, the thin layer of electricity coating my body should cause the worms to stay away from me. It should be enough to stop the hearts of small creatures like them... I'd suggest you don't touch me either though, Shinji-kun. While it won't be deadly on account of your size, touching me as I am right now is going to give you a pretty nasty shock" A personal barrier of electricity that's just enough to kill the crest worms is actually a pretty genius idea, but you can't help as if you're forgetting something...

"It's through that door there." You point at one of the doors that was heavily damaged by the railgun. "Then we take a right and the stairs should be right there. Just... watch out for other dangers, Zouken isn't restricted to just worms and flying insects, after all. This is a man who has had centuries of time preparing for attacks just like this one. Though in truth he's actually been preparing for attacks from actual Servants, so whatever he's got planned for us downstairs might be a little ridiculous." Honestly, the only thing that's really giving you any form of confidence at all is Zouken's fate in Apocrypha, killed off-screen decades before the story even begins by somebody like Darnic... Though Darnic did have a Lancer on his side at the time, but you've really been lead to believe that his duel with Zouken was more of a one versus one type arrangement.
>>
"Understood. Let's not wait around for him to trigger one of these traps then, shall we? The sooner we get this bastard killed, the sooner we can all rest, and the sooner I get paid... N-not to say I'm only doing this for the money... It's just I uh..." Monica cuts herself off as the two of you reach the stairs, obviously not wanting to continue speaking after making such an awkward mess of things when it comes to money. Between Touko, Rin, and Monica, you know way too many women who have no idea how to handle money. Well, Rin might have better luck if she didn't use all of her disposable income on buying gems for use in single use spells. Seriously, for somebody so stingy with money, Rin has the absolute worst type of magecraft she could possibly have!

The two of you descend in silence, partially because you don't want to potentially reveal your position to Zouken if he's currently unaware of you, and partially because Monica is voluntarily remaining quiet after saying something she probably thinks you might have taken offense to. Though really, you don't really care about money at this point. It is pretty amusing that Monica, despite being one of the strongest magecraft users on the planet potentially, especially with her ability to convert electricity into magical energy, is so desperate for money. You'd expect somebody with that level of strength who took up mercenary work would easily make an incredible amount of money from her profession. She managed to actually fight Aoko and not get immediately stomped into the ground, after all. That takes some talent.

You've purposely avoided entering this part of the house for all these years, it's really the most uncomfortable place in Fuyuki, especially after Kirei's orphan dungeon was destroyed a few years back, and even then, it would've been a toss up. Still, that very avoidance of the worm storage might end up being a real pain now that proper knowledge of the place would be helpful. Ah well. What can you do? Despite your worries, you doubt that Zouken is really going to be that prepared to deal with you, and especially not Monica. It's not like he would've had any reason to suspect an attack, after all. Even if he is prepared for the grail wars.
>>
Descending the stone steps so that you're in the center of the room, you note that you've yet to be attacked once by crest worms since you entered the house. The only real explanation for that is that Zouken is trying to lure you into some sort of ambush... But what could he be planning? Monica takes a step forwards towards the pit in the ground, and in that very same moment, you notice something large dislodge from the ceiling ready to drop right on top of her! You can't make it out what it is from the shadows, but it's twice her size! If she's not reinforced her body and is instead relying on her magical electricity barrier, she'll be crushed!

>Dive and tackle Monica out of the way and to the side, ensuring both of you avoid the falling object!
>Push Monica out of the way and hope that the reinforcement of your body is enough to survive the impact!
>Grab Monica and pull her out of the path of the falling object!

>You can't make it out what it is from the shadows, but it's twice her size!
It's probably one of the Giant Worms Zouken keeps down here. Getting a preemptive hit on it would be pretty nice, maybe daze it so Monica can get the quick kill.

I'm not thrilled about not knowing what that is. If it's a big worm shit might become icky, and if it's a mass of worms it might be even worse. Get ready to spend whatever force we have on another worm-burning if that is the case...

Touching Monica in any way might weaken her charge and will probably distract us.

Honestly shouting "Falling! Dodge!" might be safer option though. As long as she doesn't dodge into the pit.

This was a dumb idea. Why go in by the stairs when you can break through the floor without damaging anything important. Much harder to get the drop on you that way.

>>Shout out a warning to Monica!
>>Attempt to leap upwards to intercept the falling object with a punch!
>>
"Monica! Dodge!" You call out to your ally at the exact same moment that you spring into the air, your reinforced body allowing you to leap upwards to intercept the falling mass before it's even halfway towards Monica. As you approach the object, its true form becomes apparent to you, that of a giant spider like crest worm, the whole body of the horrific chimeric insect covered in chitinous plates for armor, in that moment, you find yourself relieved that you made the decision to intercept it, had you not, then it likely would've killed Monica outright.

The moment of observation passes, and you smash your fist right into the main body of the giant beast, causing cracks to form in the natural armor of the creature as well as knocking it off course from the intended target. Unfortunately, the beast recovers from your attack with bestial ease, and despite obviously not being created with aerial combat in mind, it is quite capable of shooting out one of it's long spindly legs directly towards you. You twist your body to avoid the attack, but the restricted mobility you face as a result of still falling back to the ground prevents you from doing so properly, and the creature's leg pierces straight through your shoulder like some sort of gnarled black spear.

You grit your teeth in pain as the leg tears itself loose of your now ruined shoulder. The horrible ripping sound of flesh being torn to shreds playing on repeat in your mind as you fall, you barely manage to prevent yourself from screaming in agony, it's only the training you've undergone that allows such a feat, when you think about it, it's really a miracle that you didn't lose your arm in it's entirety. Still, you should be able to heal the injury thanks to your reality marble, especially as it didn't take your entire limb. That doesn't stop it from hurting like hell though.

"Shinji-kun!" There's a flash of white light from below and the giant creature responsible for impaling you is blown away by a bolt of lightning. You hit the floor at roughly the same time as Monica makes her attack on the creature. The cold stone floor of the basement being really quite painful to land on, even with your reinforcement. The smell of cooked crest worm envelops you and nearly makes you gag, the rapid frying of the monster that injured you does provide you a small amount of relief though, even if the smell is truly nauseating. "Are you alright, Shinji-kun?" She obviously knows that you aren't but she's probably taking the terrible wound on your shoulder into account when she's asking you that. She's likely wondering if the monster she just killed was venomous or not... Thankfully, you don't think it would've been. What's the point of making a giant killing machine like that and also making it able to inject poison?
>>
"Yeah, I'm... fine. I can heal this wound, don't worry about me." You struggle to your feet, you're only half telling the truth. You're very much far from fine, and you can finally feel your reserves of magical energy starting to ebb, you half expected to be almost complete out of energy from using Truth to rid Sakura's body of crest worms though, so having enough to continually reinforce your body for an extended period of time is pretty nice. But unless you want to increase the risk to yourself by opening up more circuits than you can actually handle, you'll just need to be conservative with your reinforcement from now on. With that in mind, you allow it to drop to a level where it's only increasing your abilities by a factor of three.

"I'm... I'm glad. After what you just did, I don't know if I could ever forgive myself if that ended up being permanent." Monica's voice is full of genuine concern for you. You did just put your life on the line for the woman, and you did end up taking a pretty nasty wound for it. But what would've happened to Monica had you not done anything is far worse than merely taking a wound like this. So it's a fair trade off. You're going to make Zouken pay for this as well as everything else he's done ten fold. Though really, for his crimes, the only fair punishment is death. Preferably a painful one. It's almost a shame that Sakura won't get to put an end to him herself, but then again, the last thing that you need is Dark Sakura to make an appearance, so this way is probably for the best. "But are you sure that you can continue on like this? You say you'll be able to heal, but you look pretty worn out, Shinji-kun... I hate to suggest it, but you saved your sister, right? How can you even be sure that your ancestor is even down here? It's just as likely that he would flee if there would be nothing to gain from attacking you head-on..." Monica quickly gives her view on things, and as much as you hate to admit it, she's right. Both about your condition and about Zouken. He's definitely the sort of person who would flee active combat in order to deal with his foes when they least expect it, he's got everything to lose if he goes after you again directly, and you've already shown yourself to be capable of destroying his worms quite effectively. Not to mention that Monica is with you as well now, and she's already shown just how deadly she is multiple times..

Press on or find Grey, so long as we kill him, I figure with Sakura beyond his reach he's likely down here to reconstitute himself, no sense letting him slip away and being a problem further down the line, if already gone then his stuff is up for grabs after a bit of pest control.

> “You’re right, he might not be down there, but we have to check somehow. How about we blow a hole through the floor somewhere above and look down. Or we see if we can go in through the sewers. He must have had SOME way to clean up his messes around here.”

Other possible ideas: mana transfer ritual - sex can’t literally be the only way, and Monica might have a way of supplying other magi with her near infinite mana.

“Monica, any chance you could use electricity to fry the entire basement before we leave?“

“Monica, do you know any way to temporarily shut down a set of magic circuits? That way, I can switch to using some of the ones I don’t currently use and be fine again.”

This is Fate: you never accomplish anything worthwhile by giving up - have to push beyond the limit and sacrifice something.

Know what, scratch it and ask after things resolved, anything to start feeding the alien mentality to grow the reality marble.
Still against property destruction and assuming it killed him, without a body to guarantee we finished the job unless we're locking into the Sakura route and watching her 24-7 it's just begging for her to eventually get picked up by creepy old men when we're not looking.
>>
>>4391803

>>
>>4391808
Same here but mostly principle of it, if we nuke it and he gets away its just begging him to turn back up later, we regroup with Grey and have Monica and her meticulously clean out the basement even if he still does get away then we know he isn't dead and can take precautions against Sakura getting 'wormvanned' later and can either start bringing her with us on our trips out of town or leave her with Rin if it's something we don't want to get her involved in.
>>
>>4391822
actually a really good point, better to scan the whole house from top to bottom, purge it of any worms, and confirm whether he's alive instead of guessing
>>
>>4391817
but we avoided one possible death so we should be happy
>>
>>4391826
Dont want to sound like harping on it but if we collapse the house it actually raises the chance of him getting away since his familiars are bugs and worms, even if he's not down there any pockets left can burrow their way out and return to their owner. Giving the basement a professional extermination will further deplete his limited resources and leave him with less to run on.
Honestly without a body the only thing i'm going to assume is he gets away, he's a 500 year old mage, he wouldn't have survived this long without some backup plan in place, the most we can do is deplete him as much as possible.
>>
I still think we should burn the mansion down and then burn the ashes to make sure nothing survived.

For that matter, how? Everything i've seen about the Worm storage basement is its largely stone, the only thing we'd destroy is the manor on the surface before having to dig it back up in order to clean it out again, all we'd really accomplish is giving him more time to get away.
All this said i'm not too big on actually keeping the house, after all this time he likely put in several of his own backdoors, either we'd need to go through the trouble of finding everything and fully changing out the security system or burn it down after we clean out everything we really want to keep from it, I just don't want a kneejerk reaction make a botch job out of things.

>You have a point. Let us withdraw for now.

Let’s find Gray regardless. I don’t like her being alone with Worm man at large. With her we can make one more round around the ruins in case we managed to smoke the bastard out but we’ll probably have to accept having a nemesis and sleep with one eye open.

I’d like to offer Monica a job but I’m not sure if her style is suitable for bodyguard duty. She’s better at dealing damage than taking blows for someone. But there definitely is room for her on retainer.
>>
The house would be a nice thing to keep but unless we have it under complete control and can safely make use of and explore it it is a liability that can get us and our friends harmed or killed.

>"You're right... On a related topic, how would you feel about full time employment as a bodyguard, Monica-san?"
No nuking our house, faggots. We NEED those catalysts and the real good tomes and grimoires Zouken has stashed away
>>
>>4392177
well right now we have a few choices.
1) press on in our weakened state against an arguably poorly prepared and elderly zouken. This is hazardous now with potential to gain us secure house along with all its contents.
2)withdraw and leave the house intact, giving zouken time to draw on whatever is inside to recover some of his losses and plot his counterattack while denying us its use. Should be relatively safe for now but hazardous down the line.
3) Torch the place to the ground and below, denying both us and Zouken its use permanently and potentially finishing him off (although who are we kidding, he's getting away).

In both scenarios where zouken gets away he will carry with him a bone to pick with us and firsthand knowledge of our abilities we've been keeping hidden.

I guess we'll simply have to weigh risk to us, Monica and Gray, neither of which we can count on having plot armour, against potential threat growing down the line.

Zouken can't be beaten here. Even if you were to explore every nook and cranny of this huge basement, there's absolutely no guarantee that you'll find him. There's not even a guarantee that he's even still here. All being down here means is that Zouken has plenty of traps that he can spring on you at any time. Had you not punched that giant worm away from Monica, then that would've been her end for sure. Shortly followed up by your own demise, of course. With your right arm completely unusable for the moment, there's utterly no point in remaining down here, not unless you want to push your luck about becoming worm food. "You're right, Monica-san. We... Probably won't be able to beat him now. Even if we could absolutely tear him apart should we encounter him, there's no way that he'd allow that to happen. Especially not when he can just keep throwing these monsters at us to wear us down." Even if Monica herself can't be worn down when it comes to her magical energy, that doesn't mean that she'll never grow tired, and constantly being on your guard while you search for somebody that probably isn't even here is just going to be horrible.

"Yeah. Let's get out of here, Shinji... But... There is one thing I can do before we go." Monica pulls out another one of those iron spheres she carries about. Is she about to fire off another railgun like attack down here? Why? What could her target possibly be?" "Elektrokugel..." The electricity you've grown used to seeing crackle about her does so once more, as the sphere of iron begins to levitate away from her hand and towards the center of the room, acting as a light source and glowing pure white as it does, "...Gewitter!" The electricity around her ends, and instead the iron sphere floating in the center of the room is crackling with power. "We... should probably leave now." The sphere pulses with energy dangerously as it floats in place.

"Why? What did you do?" You're curious as to this new ability, at this point, you think Monica is just showing off to you. Really, you're starting to wonder just how useful she might be when dealing with something like a servant. How much damage a Black Key would be able to do to a servant if it were to hit them at hypersonic speeds... Surely, something like that would be lethal to all but the most powerful servants. In fact, the anti-spirit properties of the weapons combined with the force of the shot of a railgun would probably just reduce the average servant to chunks of bloody flesh and organs. You briefly wonder if you could have Monica snipe Gilgamesh with an attack like that while he gloats or monologues without his armor on. Though you might need to make sure that Monica actually becomes capable of using Black Keys as projectiles first. The things are apparently notoriously difficult to use.
>>
"I gave us a little bit of insurance, that iron sphere there should last a few hours, and I gave it enough electrical energy to blast any living creature around the size of a human that approaches it to ashes with a bolt of electricity, of course, it will also target smaller creatures too... But we only have about... Oh uhn, twenty...?" She seems to be uncertain of how long she has before the activation of the deadly attack. "Yeah. Twenty seconds before it truly becomes active, and we become a target. So uhm..." Monica grabs you by your good arm and begins sprinting towards the stairs. "Sorry about this, Shinji-kun! I may have acted a little too over enthusiastic!" You don't have the energy left to complain to Monica about her decision to use such an attack. At least it'll seal off the worm storage for some time and prevent Zouken from retaliating. Hell, it might even deplete him of a majority of his familiars if you're lucky.

A few seconds later any you're back upstairs, the sound of electricity crackling loudly is something that you can hear even from up here. "You know, seeing as we failed to killed Zouken... I might have need of a bodyguard, Monica-san." Seriously, if the old worm is still lurking around somewhere, you won't be able to sleep comfortably at night while you're in Fuyuki, and you certainly don't want to be sleeping in the Matou Mansion until you're absolutely certain that Zouken is dead. Maybe you can have Caster scry for him if you manage to ally with her in two years? That would certainly make things easier when it comes to dealing with him, especially if he ends up summoning a servant for himself. He's most likely to end up summoning an Assassin again though, so it shouldn't be that difficult to deal with him even if he intends to be entirely defensive. The only threat that might emerge is him using Assassin to kill you before you get a chance to kill him. "Would you be interested in staying with me in Japan for a few years? I can pay you quite well, I can assure you of that. I'm going to need somebody around who is capable of killing Zouken, should he rear his ugly head, after all."

Monica stops and seems to think for a while about your proposition before she gives you an answer. "I'd... I'd like that, Shinji-kun. But are you sure that you even want me around that much?"
>>
"Why wouldn't I, Monica-san? You're one of my dearest friends!" You pause awkwardly for a moment as she raises an eyebrow at your exclamation. "After all. I... I don't have many actual friends, if I'm honest." Really, you don't even bother interacting with people generally unless they show themselves to be interesting in some way. What's the point of interacting with the average in a world of a story? It will simply accomplish nothing. It's one of the reasons that other than Shirou, Rin, and Sakura, you've barely even held a conversation with your other schoolmates. What's the point? What could you possibly gain from a friendship with somebody like Issei, or Ayako? Or hell, even the track and field club? Those characters are really just dressing for the setting. Unimportant characters scattered about in order to give the world more believability. Barely a step above actual mob characters, really.

"I... I guess I'll accept your offer then... But where exactly do you plan on staying? Surely not here?" Of course not. While the Matou mansion would be quite nice to live in if it were properly renovated and had all of the worms within it vaporized, it's not feasible to live in the place now.

"I'll figure that out later on, Monica-san. For now though, We need to..."

Rin's house, beyond my personal feelings for Rin, its the absolute best spot. Wherever we live, Sakura lives and for Sakura and Rin's sake, having them live together will be better for their mental health and development, especially Sakura's. Also we won't have to worry about Zouken taking Sakura if we stay at Rin's. Rin is sure of her own abilities to take down Zouken and she'll do anything to keep Sakura safe now. Shirou's place is cool and all but it lacks the protection we need and we'll basically have to be on our toes the entire time and though Touko is a god tier Magus, she's still likely to tell us to piss off since she doesn't wanna be dragged into our shitfest

>>
wait if we're looting the house for anything valuable, we may as well nuke it when we're done with it, Zouken gets absolutely nothing
>>
>>4392824
A house itself is pretty valuable. Just need to renovate it and you have a lot of value on your hands.

And if Zouken is dumb enough to want to live in a house we keep taps on then he can be my guest. Makes it easier to find and kill him.
>>
>>4392830
its not about the money
its about sending a message
>>
>>4392830
money isn't really a problem for us, but I do see your point, keeping tabs on a house where Zouken might comeback to is a good call. Then again, nuking it would make him super desperate since he would have nothing left

>>
>>4392855
That just makes the house better as a lure. He can't get anything out of it, but we can still use it.
>>
>>4392846
It's not empty though. It's still riddled with worms that are asset to the bastard and hazard for everyone else. And there's no way we'll be able to pick up everything valuable during our looting - we may miss things because they are in hidden compartments we're not aware of, because they are not immediately apparent as valuable or because they are in the basement that is both dangerous and locked out for the time being.

"...Make sure we loot this mansion of the most valuable things within it. Catalysts, Mystic Codes, rare grimoires, the lot." You don't want to leave Zouken with anything of any value that he might end up being able to use against you. Especially Catalysts. While he'll probably go for an Assassin, that doesn't mean you intend to leave him with any options to summon another servant. Besides, being able to get your hands on the mirror that was used to summon Medusa will be nice to have. Medusa is probably the most reliable servant in the Fifth War when it comes to her power-set, not only are her Mystic Eyes fantastic, being able to close the gap between her and practically any servant, if not outright killing them, but her speed and other Noble Phantasms are just as useful. But really, such reliability is to be expected of the Rider class. Battles between Servants are often won by the one with the greater Noble Phantasm or the Noble Phantasm that is a counter to their enemy, so what class could be better than the one which is summoned with the most of them? Well, unless you summon one of two specific Archers, but those two are cheaters. They don't even shoot arrows.

"Oh great! Normally, the contracts I take stipulate that I'm not allowed to ransack the home of my target to... reclaim their valuable belongings as an extra fee for myself... So where are we looking first?" Monica reveals a startling proclivity to looting at the moment you suggest robbing your own house.

"We'll only be visiting three rooms. The first room though, is my sister's room. I need to pick something up for her. The first present I ever gave her is still in her room, and I'm not about to leave it behind." Sakura has kept it for all these years, after all, so she must like the thing. With all the effort you took into actually getting it, you don't really intend to let it stay here for years, especially not when it could make Sakura happy.

"You really care about your sister, Don't you, Shinji-kun?" Monica lets out a long sigh. "Alright, we'll head up to her room first then." You and Monica are quick about your journey to Sakura's room, neither of you really want to be in this house for any longer than you have to be. Thankfully, the bleeding from the wound in your shoulder has already stopped, and the wound itself is well on the way to healing up. Thank God you spent so long trying to develop that marble you knew you must have.

>>
You don't spend too long in Sakura's room when you reach it, just grabbing the well-hugged cat plush and getting the hell out of there. You don't know just whether or not Zouken would booby-trap the room, after all. Then again, it's not like you would've had a reason to return to the room outside of sentimental reasons, and that heartless old bastard has long lost the capacity to be sentimental about, well... literally anything. Except maybe Justeaze, you suppose. Still, you're pretty quick about grabbing Sakura's plush toy as well as a few other things that you ended up getting her over the years that she seemed to end up liking. Obviously you don't grab everything, but you grab what you feel would make Sakura the happiest to receive once again.

You step outside the room to see Monica waiting for you. She smirks when she sees the cat plush you're carrying, which even despite you being far taller than you were back then, is still pretty big. She gets over this amusement quite quickly though, and soon tries to once again exert a sense of professionality to herself. "What's our next intended location, Shinji?

"The library. I've already marked out which books in there are worth taking, so it'll only take me a few minutes to grab everything of value in there." Most of the books in the library are contradictory garbage, but there are few that hold merit, even to somebody like you with a teacher as talented as Touko telling you exactly what you ask her... normally.

"Alright. Never really was much of a fan of reading grimoires and tomes, so I'll leave this one to you as well." Monica follows you towards the library, this time though, she actually goes into the room in order to ensure your safety. It's a pretty big room, after all, and there are plenty of places where you could be ambushed by crest worms. Luckily though, such an ambush never comes, and once again you leave the room with everything you wanted to take. Monica realizes that you're done with your second phase of shamelessly looting your own mansion soon after you grab the final book you wanted to take with you, ironically, one documenting the methods for the creation of your own familiars. "I hope that I'm actually able to help you search for your next intended destination, It's pretty boring just remaining on watch like this." She genuinely sounds disappointed that she hasn't gotten to indulge in any looting just yet. Ah well, that's about to change.

Your next location is the most dangerous one, by far. "Our final location will be Zouken's personal workshop/office. It's the place he spent most of his time, so by my logic, it's the place where he would leave his most valuable things. You'll be able to help search through this room too, if you find anything interesting, tell me immediately." You phrase it more as a request than an actual order. You have no doubts Monica would inform you if she found anything anyway.
>>
By the time you reach Zouken's office, you're just about done with constantly looking over your shoulder to make sure that Zouken isn't about to kill you with some crest worm trap. This complete lack of any sort of defense outside of the single giant worm in the basement is more concerning than it is relieving. Unless Zouken managed to die off all of a sudden without anyone else's assistance, then this lack of any sort of response is odd. You suppose that he could be intending to attack Rin and Sakura, but Rin should be able to easily fend off a weakened Zouken, especially within the bounds of the Tohsaka residence's powerful defenses. The building is really no joke. But that only really allays your fears a little bit. Rin is impulsive and kind of stupid when she's provoked. It's no wonder that Kirei never really has much issue in defeating her in combat, despite her theoretically being the superior fighter.

You manage to suppress your worry as you enter Zouken's room, looking for just about anything that might be of any interest, you look through draws and cabinets in an effort to find something of interest, but you don't end up finding much, mostly just paperwork that Zouken was signing. Seems like magi just love their paperwork. Unless their name is Waver Velvet, that is. You're pretty sure the poor Clocktower Lord would prefer to be involved in a life or death battle in a grail war than to have to sign another thousand papers that serve no real purpose other than for the bureaucrats of the Mage's Association to feel as if they accomplished something.

Monica has had her eyes closed in focus ever since you walked into the room, you don't know what she's up to, but it's hardly helpful. You don't want to get involved with whatever she's planning though, it's probably some form of magecraft, so you don't interrupt her and just continue with your own search, fruitless as it might be proving. Monica finally makes her move a few minutes after closing her eyes, and you watch her walk straight over to a wall and put a hand directly through it, the wall easily giving away as she tears the section of false wall to pieces. You quickly move over to see what it is that she's up to and you spot a safe hidden in the wall. So this is where Zouken keeps all his most valuable possessions then? How is he supposed to get anything out of a safe if it's hidden like this?
>>
"It's locked, but really, a mundane lock? Was he trying to keep this thing hidden from enemy magi by just making it so it didn't use any sort of magecraft at all?" Monica tries to think of the reasons somebody might have for not using magecraft to hide their possessions, of course, a man as paranoid as Zouken attempting to hide his most precious belongings in a completely mundane fashion is really quite humorous to you. It's a pretty good lock, if I'm honest, it would take a normal safe cracker forever to break into it, and using force to attempt to break into it would take an incredibly long time too, unless you don't care about the contents." As she says that, the safe springs open with ease. "But luckily for us, it's made of steel, so it's as good as mine."

Peering into the safe, you take the contents of it out. An ancient looking hand mirror, a fragment of wood that is somehow warm to the touch, an ancient bronze arrowhead, the remnants of a shattered crystal vial and most curious of all of what are obviously Servant summoning catalysts... a book. 'On the creation of the Philosopher's Stone.' By Paracelsus himself. Seems that Zouken has amassed quite the collection of catalysts for himself. Of course the mirror is what should summon Medusa, and you can't see that piece of wood as anything other than a fragment of the Round Table. The book was written by Paracelsus, so there's no prizes for guessing just who it would summon if it were to be used. As for the other two objects, you have absolutely no idea just what heroes they might be linked to.

"It's all... junk?" Monica sounds somewhat disappointed by the find, and she doesn't even bother to read the title of the book in the safe. Looks like she might not be too familiar with the whole Servant thing.

"Not junk, Monica. Catalysts. These are what you use for summoning specific Servants from the Throne of Heroes instead of leaving it entirely to chance." You briefly explain the concept of using a catalyst to your electricity wielding ally.

"Oh, I see. But I don't see any labels on these artifacts, so wouldn't it be basically the same as calling one by chance?" She... raises a good point. But thankfully it's not going to be a problem for you, seeing as you've already identified 3 of them.

"I'm sure that there's a way to divine their true identity." You think there are actually Mystic Eyes for that, actually. Not like you'll need them for three of these catalysts at least. Of course, you will also read the book on the creation of Philosopher's Stones. While Paracelsus' stones might not be the sort that grant true immortality, they are still quite powerful.
>>
"You might be right about that, but still, it sounds like a lot of effort." She looks about the room one more time, but for a quick glance this time. "I think that's it, Shinji-kun I don't think there's anything left in here of any value, so shall we be off? I don't really want to spend any more time here, feels like more of those worms are going to pop out of the walls at us at any moment." Monica seems to have developed a rapid dislike of Zouken's familiars. Though anybody with half a brain would, so it's not like that's an unexpected thing.

thinking about it, this quest by its very nature pushes Sakura route HARD on us, most of our training and choices are because we have Sakura in mind, we are quite literally, the only positive person in her life, we went after Zouken early because we didn't want to be another tormentor to Sakura, one of the first places we raided was Sakura's room because we wanted to get her keepsakes of us. I can see why it'd be hard to win over Illya or Sacchin or whoever when our main motivation is Sakura
>>
>>4393531
That's part of what makes it so satisfying to reject the Sakura route and just be a legitimate brother to her, finding our love with the other unfortunate grail-girl.
>>
>>4393536
I wouldn't call it satisfying desu, narratively, it makes the most sense to end up with her
>>
>>4393542
Or, just maybe, we really care about our sister and her suffering has the most impact on us due to a combination of it's so close to us personally, and Shinji's part to play in other times lines making us guilty.
>>
>>4393495
>"Right. Let's get Gray, wherever she is, and head to Rin."
we can tell Touko separately later
>>
>>4393542
Everyone gets their satisfaction from different things. I'm not trying to change your mind. You've been pushing hard enough for Sakura and Rin that that'd just be stupid. For me though it's a lot more satisfying to actually make a choice than go with the most obvious conclusion. Quests are branching narrative for a reason. To just go with the flow and follow the path most clearly suggested by the QM wouldn't be a quest I'd get anything out of. Even outside of player agency, for the protag to let his love life get totally manipulated by circumstance like what you're describing kind of drops his agency as well. I think he's a stronger character if he doesn't fall in love with Sakura and just tries to act like a real brother.

"Right. Let's get Gray, wherever she is, and head to Rin." It's about time you get back, after all. You've managed to loot what are likely the most valuable possessions Zouken has, and while you were unable to find any Mystic Codes, you don't really mind. Whatever Mystic Codes that Zouken is likely to have stashed away likely aren't of any interest to you anyway, Zouken is the sort to make his mystic codes out of crest worms, honestly, and you want no part of that.

"As you wish, Shinji-kun." Monica throws a chair through one of the windows before grabbing hold of you. "But just as a precaution, let's take the alternative route down to the ground, shall we?" You barely get to take a breath before Monica has launched herself and you through the window with some pretty surprising physical strength! Just how is Monica this powerful? Her magecraft is completely broken, her sorcerous trait is overpowered, and to top it all off, she's stronger than she should be too! You feel intrigued by Monica, this woman is ridiculous, and not just because she's pulling you through a window she just smashed open alongside her.

"W-wait, h-hold on, Monica-san!" You give a panicked squeak as Monica easily drags you through the window, at your current level of reinforcement, not only does she have more physical strength than you, but you aren't entirely certain that you'll be able to land without hurting anything! You're just about to focus on further reinforcement of your body when Monica starts crackling with electricity that also surrounds you, slowing both of your descents to manageable levels... You actually forgot she could do that, to be honest. Nice to know that ability of hers works even when she's got somebody else with her, though you don't really want to make leaping off of tall buildings a habit of yours. You've already done it twice today, and you don't exactly feel like a third time would be healthy.

As the two of you land flawlessly on the ground, Monica looks a little surprised by your sudden panic, before she seems to realize that most normal people don't just jump out of windows... Then again, that's exactly what you did not one hour ago, and you would never even think to include yourself in the classification of 'normal'. That doesn't mean it wasn't an unwelcome surprise that you didn't need a warning for though. "Well, all things considered, that went pretty well, I think." You take a look at the bag which you stuffed all the loot you stole from Zouken and recovered for Sakura inside. Everything seems to be fine, you wonder just what the arrowhead and the vial could be. But you suppose that figuring those out will have to wait for another time. Rin or Touko might be able to help you, you suppose.
>>
"A warning, next time, Monica-san? Contrary to my actions today, I don't actually enjoy being thrown out of windows." Monica looks a little guilty as you lightly scold her for her hasty retreat. "Though I do appreciate that you got us out of the house the fastest way possible, and I don't mind so much considering I'm not injured." You do praise Monica too though, the only problem with what she did just then was not give you any sort of advance warning as to what she was doing, but then again, she probably wouldn't have jumped through the window had you been faster in telling her to stop. Thankfully, the wound on your shoulder has finally vanished, even with your fairly low reserve of energy. It's a shame that your clothing is still wrecked and soaked with blood, but you'll just have to buy a replacement for your destroyed clothing. It's not like you're still wearing your expensive suit for something like this, at least. Instead you opted for unrestrictive clothing in order to move easier. In a way, you suppose you could call what you're wearing a casual outfit. "Where do you think we'll end up finding Gray, anyway?"

"Oh I told her to just return to the apartment when she's certain that she managed to hypnotize everyone." It is a little bit irritating that you brought somebody with as much combat power as Gray along with you and in the end all she ended up doing was hypnotizing people, but you suppose plans sometimes need to change. You really would've liked to have killed Zouken, but there was simply no way that you were going to go along with his wishes and rape Sakura. Not when you had an alternative solution that you could take. You'll just have to accept Zouken's survival for now, and ensure that he dies either in the next two years, or during the grail war itself.

"Well then, it'll be simple to get Gray and the go back to Rin. I want to make sure that Sakura is alright, after all." You set off back towards your apartment, which may very well end up being your home if you don't make alternate arrangements. Thankfully, it's a fairly large apartment, so you shouldn't run into that many issues, but you would still rather live in a large house. You've kind of grown used to living in luxury, even if the Matou mansion creeped you out.

The two of you soon find Gray in your apartment and inform her of your success before setting off towards Rin's place. Gray is characteristically silent upon being told of your partial success, and seems a little disappointed that she was kept on the sidelines. Did Monica maybe keep her away from the fight on purpose? While hypnotizing people is pretty crucial, you don't know if it's really crucial enough to just send away your back-up like she did.
>>
----------------------------------------

Arriving at Rin's house a few minutes after leaving your apartment, you knock on the door to the house, only for the door to swing open rapidly and for Sakura's smiling face to greet you, open seeing you, it only takes her a few moments to run forwards and wrap you in a tight embrace. "Onii-chan... You... You really saved me, didn't you?" There's genuine happiness in her voice, as for likely the first time in years, Sakura is truly free of pain.

>"Of course I did, Sakura." Return Sakura's embrace.
>"I did the right thing, that's all." Wait for Sakura to stop hugging you.

Shame that Zouken is still alive but one of our main objective is now achieved.
Hope we will get a chance to finish off old worm before Fifth war.

I know some of you hate FGO but they do have some interesting art and bits of lore of what Shirou Rin and Sakura look like as "peak Magus". Apparently Shirou doesn't have to burn his insides to be at his best
>>
>>4394408
Context-free art from an alternate timeline in which the 4th and 5th grail wars central to these characters' backgrounds never occur tells us pretty much less than nothing. It's just fanservice to try and keep people convinced FGO has anything to do with the original.
>>
>>4394411
We have no idea how they got to this point, they likely don't even exist or aren't even alive in the FGO verse
>>
>>4394413
which is a good thing because shirou is kino and should not be involved in that shit pile
>>
>>4394166
> You're just about to focus on further reinforcement of your body when Monica starts crackling with electricity that also surrounds you, slowing both of your descents to manageable levels...
SHE HAS THE ICARUS LANDING SYSTEM FROM DEUS EX HUMAN REVOLUTION BUILT INTO HERSELF????
>>
>>4394413
My point exactly. Shirou may very well be burning his insides in that picture, it could be set after one of the canon routes, or it could be completely different people who just resemble the canon characters, like Ishtar's host being some girl from babylon. I think that guy in the top-right is actually a pseudo-servant or something, from what I remember of the FGO lore. The CEs really tell us nothing at all about what the original characters are like at their peak.
>>
>>4394408

Oh, and another note. Bottom right isn't Rin, that's an Edelfelt sister from the third war who was introduced in Hollow Ataraxia. Rin's grandmother, IIRC.

Anon, the Edelfelt sisters looked the way they did in Hollow Ataraxia because Avenger was unable to properly recreate their appearance.
So he used Rin and Sakura as stand-ins for their appearances.
Also the dress is only similar in color. It's very different in design.
>>
>>4394498
>>4394520
That may or may not be what the CE's going for, but the fact it can even be discussed is indicative of how useless they are as lore. It's just an image and a name, they don't even have descriptions.
>>
>>4394528
they do.
>>
>>4394528

Alright, fuck it. Now I'm just showing you people that I haven't played FGO. I still hope its batshit lore stays out of this quest as much as possible.
>>
>>4394535
You should add more FGO stuff.
>>
>>4394543
I'm not much of a fan of FGO myself, but I did play through a few of the singularities.
If you can get over some of the lore discrepancies some of it isn't strictly terrible.
But it's all style with no substance.
>>
>>4394551
>lore discrepancies
so like, just regular Type Moon stuff
>>
>>4394551
The event stories are way better then the main story, honestly. Main story is standard issue type moon shit, event stories give you stuff like Attack of Mecha Eli Chan, Brave Liz's Adventure and Saber Wars.
>>
>>4394555
Yeah pretty much.
The only difference being that FGO is quite egregious with it's own discrepancies even with that in mind.
The biggest problem for me is the mind numbingly boring gameplay loop attached to a story that at it's best is really only adequate.
The main character is by design made to be bland, which doesn't help matters much.
>>
>>4394569
yeah I don't expect much from a literal self insert stand in, the gameplay is boring as shit, honestly, the only reason I even play is cause the designs are cool and the story can get pretty hype sometimes

makes sense, body possession has been done before, Ishtar for example needs to take human hosts to go out and about, when she took Rin's body, it greatly affected her personality and Gil found her to be better, when she took an Einzbern homunculus's body over, she was 100% Ishtar and a true threat. Monica might be the same, a good body but her OG personality bleeds into Manaka and affects how she acts

Maybe she misses her own childhood, and had pangs of nostalgia tied to us for some reason that inflicted a melancholy when she saw us age. I don't really understand why people think that dream sequence was referring to Manaka.
To me it read much more like a Dark Sakura sequence.
>>
>>4395283
Is Dark Sakura even possible at this point? She's dewormed, she's at Rin's house and she's gonna get 24 hour protection until Zouken dies
>>
>>4395283
Because if it was dark sakura it would be boring as shit and I cling to hope. Also the timeline is fucked up for it being dark sakura. Normally characters who show up in your dreams in Fate have some kind of magic tie to you and we had nothing binding us to Sakura at that point. The dream should be related to someone who has something to do with why our soul is in this world or how our magic circuits are so bizarre, I think.
>>
>>4395291
sakura is the reason for the quest right? Would shinji have survived if he wasnt an asshole? What if he saved sakura? it's meta possibly
>>
>>4395299
The reason is less Sakura and more Shinji getting fucked in every version of events and trying to see if we can metagame our way out of a bad fate. Making everyone happy is just something else anons latched onto, noble it may be.
>>
>>4395321
but it's a factor in it. I was there in the /a/ thread where we told qm it was a good idea to do this quest.
>>
>>4395334
As was I. I remember the primary reasoning.
>>
"I'm sorry I couldn't do this sooner, Sakura." You wrap your own arms around your sister and hug her tightly, You truly wish that there had been a way for you to have saved Sakura while preventing her from ever having to suffer at all. But really, all things considered, it's hard to see this as anything but your complete victory. Zouken, while not dead, as you would much prefer, has been forced into hiding. Sakura is completely free of his influence and of the suffering she was undergoing. More than that though, you've finally given Sakura the chance to pursue her own happiness. Of course, while it might take her a while to adjust to her new life, with both you and Rin by her side, she'll definitely get used to things.

Sakura sort of nestles deeper into you as you return her hug, and the two of you stay like that for a while until a cough from behind Sakura interrupts the two of you. "I appreciate what you've done for Sakura... Matou...-kun." There's some hesitation in Rin's voice as she doesn't seem to know just how to refer to you. But despite her apparent dislike for you, she does end up using a name that indicates that your close to her. You don't really know why though. "But I'll have to ask you two to refrain from your... sibling affection." And that time it just sounded like she was repressing a massive amount of anger. Not just at you, you think, but at the whole situation that she found herself in in regards to her sister. Well, you hope, at least. If Rin hates you just because of the circumstances that were forced upon you, she needs to get over herself.

Sakura seems to ignore Rin's request for a few seconds before finally breaking away from you and giving you a truly genuine smile that melts your heart. You were the one who made it possible for her to smile like that. Through your effort and hard work, you've finally managed to complete your original goal. "Thank you." Is about all Sakura can manage to say with her voice choking up. It almost seems as if she's on the verge of crying tears of happiness. It's about all you can manage to prevent yourself from hugging her again after she breaks away and smiles at you like that. You... You want to protect that smile of hers. Now that you've seen it, you never want to allow somebody you care about to suffer like Sakura was forced to. Even if you have to tear the entire world apart to do so. "I'm not... dreaming, am I?" For a brief moment, Sakura seems worried that everything will be snatched away from her and revealed as a lie.
>>
You don't really know how to answer that, so you decide to just be honest. "Of course not Sakura. I don't know if you'll remember, but I promised to save you a long time ago." You return Sakura's smile with one of your own, and you can see Rin getting more annoyed just behind Sakura. What a petulant girl, can't she just wait for a moment? You're starting to regret bringing Sakura to Rin's house already. But you suppose that when you've finished explaining matters with Rin, she'll probably be a little more manageable. Right now, she's basically just throwing some sort of tantrum because Sakura cares about you as a sibling far more than she cares about Rin.

Sakura remains by your side even after breaking off the hug, and basically doesn't give you a choice in matters when she grabs hold of your hand with her own, her digits firmly grasping you with a considerable amount of strength. Monica and Gray are just standing about in the entrance hall, Gray with her hood up and looking down awkwardly and Monica leaning against an expensive looking antique table without a care in the world. Rin's attention is squarely focused on you and Sakura, however, so she doesn't even seem to notice Monica carelessly acting dangerously around expensive furniture. Thankfully, she doesn't seem to notice Gray yet either. That's good. The last thing you need right now is Rin gushing about how beautiful Gray is, after all, she couldn't help herself from complimenting Saber's looks even when Saber was about to strike her down. It's probably for the best that Gray keep that hood of hers covering as much of her face as possible.

"Your two... helpers can stay out here." Rin gestures at Monica and Gray, understandable. "Follow me, Matou-kun, Sakura. We're going to discuss things properly." For some reason, Rin leads you upstairs as she seems to think that her bedroom is the best place in the house to discuss serious matters like this. Though you suppose that as it's where she sleeps at night, it should theoretically be the core of the house's defenses. The place with the greatest protection in the entire house. You eye the inconspicuous looking trunk in the corner of the room as Rin directs both you and Sakura towards two individual armchairs, while she takes a third for herself. Rin's bedroom is really very large. It's not nearly as large as Illya's room, but that's to be expected. Rin doesn't live in a literal castle, after all. "So. You said that you were going to explain things to me, and that's good. Because I want answers." Rin practically demands you tell her what she wants to know, despite being in absolutely no position to demand anything of you.
>>
>>4395344
based primary reasoner
>>
"Alright, what do you want to know?" You have a smile on your face as Rin acts incredibly rudely to you. In a way, with how Rin is acting, you kind of want to antagonize her, but for Sakura's sake, you refrain from doing so.

"First off. Zouken, did you manage to kill him? Second. Since when were you a magus? Third. Why didn't you tell me what was going on with Sakura? Why didn't you let me help you?" The third question is laced with guilt. In that moment you realize that Rin must feel awful for not being able to help Sakura. The girls have a strange relationship, but Rin really does care about Sakura. Sakura has kept the ribbon Rin gave her all those years ago too, so while Sakura might resent Rin, she likely still considers her as something of a sister. Albeit a useless one.

As a magus we are entitled to some secrets. She should know that. The other two I have no issues filling her in on. Especially the Worm's continued slithering.

>Tell Rin the truth to all three questions, but avoid telling her the truth about how you became capable of magecraft.
This but I think we should tell her that we genuinely have no idea how we're capable of magecraft, we're not being dishonest, we don't actually know how this came to be, not even Zouken who would've made sure to check. Also we should answer the 3rd question by taking her safety into consideration. Its not just about Sakura, Rin would've died if she tried going after Zouken at an earlier age, we JUST got to the point where we're finally able to go against Zouken
