>>>Tell him I'll see him in the evening (so we can hug Ren all night)

Let me know when you're around.

***

We cuddle up against our beautiful empress, kiss her gently, and hold her through the night.

At morning time, she wakes us up with a little kiss so we let her go.

We wait until she gives us another kiss before actually doing so, then share a warm, gentle morning time with her before leaving.

>>Go straight to visit Okaba

At this hour, our friend is likely already back at his palace, and thus we [Treestride] to meet him there.

A young succubus is waiting for us a few feet away from the tree we normally use for this purpose, and after giving us a couple of moments to get our bearings back, approaches and calls to us in a polite manner.

Its a young succubus rather than a empusa, which means she was probably born as such. She has ... should we say she's boring because she has (great but) 'normal' pale pink skin like any girl we would run into walking down the streets? I mean, Aura is bright neon blue, Dawn is strawberry pink, Dusk is milky white, etc. Well, its not like it wasn't possible but this is the first time we.... oh, right. This is the first time we've seen a succubus, empusa, hecate or otherwise that has 'baseline human' skin color.

I guess that actually makes her stand out as special instead. Yup. Its a very exotic looking young succubus. I wonder if this means we were being racists somehow? Hopefully not.

By the way, her eyes have golden pupils with black sclera, so they are 'normal' for her species. Her hair is a very light shade of green with blue shades, like the waters around our island. Very tropical, I guess.

Of course, she is dressed in the traditional succubus style, which means a very long, flowing robe without anything to hold it closed, her tail wrapped around her thigh and up between her legs to give her a bit of modesty. She is using solid-looking leather sandals in a roman-like style, and gives off a very clean and smart feel as she greets us with her hands clasped in front of her bellybutton.

By the way, she's not wearing a collar... also the first succubus we've ever meet in this kingdom not to wear one.

She has very small gold sleeves on the tips of her horns, but... we don't know enough about local succubus fashion to know if that shows wealth or its just as normal as earrings for girls from other cultures.

"You are master Eldric and his party, yes? This one is Mbaya. This one is honored to have been assigned as your guide and assisthn!!"

Ah, she bit her tongue right at the end.

Then we ask her to take us to the king. There is an order to observe in these things. Just brushing this off like it's nothing may compound her stress and we don't want that.

"Mbaya, was it? Calm down, take a deep breath and hold it for a couple of seconds..." - we say while patting the top of her head a couple of times
"Uh... y-yesh!" - the succubi takes a deep breath... she's very obedient and earnest, isn't she?

She's kind of cute, obediently doing as she's told.

"Come think about this, it is rather new that she's not called after some light phenomena or another, isn't it?" - we comment to Lyann

After all, we have Aura, Dawn, Dusk, Twilight, Albedo, Zenith and Sikya so far, with Sykia meaning shadow in a local diale... wait, does Mbaya has any special meaning?

"Fuu~? Ah, I think her name means..." - Lyann starts to talk, but Dawn cuts in
"Its afterglow, isn't it?" - she says with a grin - "It is still technically a light phenomena, but isn't it a slightly naughty name?"

Ah, her tail's tip is flicking up and down as she gins, this horny strawberry...

Mbaya is looking at us with bright, honest eyes as we rest our hand on her head. She finally let go of the air she was holding in.

"Thank you, sir. Mbaya is alright now!"

I guess she doesn't thinks there's anything wrong with her name. No, actually it is a traditional succubus name, isn't it? They're all references to light in a way or another, after all.

"Please allow this one to guide you!" - she chirps while holding her small fists in front of her shoulders and showing a bright smile
"Ah- yes, we'll be in your care."

Lets find out who named a cute baby "afterglow" and give him or her a new head lump someday.

"This way, please!" - she happily takes off ahead of us

Ah, wait, shouldn't you walk with us while guiding us...? Well, she seems younger than us, so lets not make an issue out of it.

"Don't you think it is strange? Usually, Aura would have been the one to welcome you, no?" - Lyann comments softly while walking a step
behind us

"Is her majesty Aura feeling well? She is the one that usually greets us at times like these..."
"She is. This one certainly will tell her you were worried about her." - our guide replies politely, slowing down so she can walk next to us as she guides us
"Well, she is the one that normally greets us at times like these..."
"His majesty was told you would take several hours to arrive, so he sent this one to wait for you instead. Is this one unpleasant...?" - she asks, obviously worried
"Not at all, I was just worried about her."
"Hn." - she nods softly.

Well, indeed, we can't have a queen waiting for 6+ hours for us. I guess Lyann told him through one of tje linked journals...

"Come think about it. Lyann, do you know what his majesty wants to talk about?"
"He has found a change in the pet [Equip] system he wanted to consult with you about."

Pet equip... certainly, we tried it a couple of times many months ago, then put it aside. You can [equip] a pet to gain some of its traits and abilities, right? We haven't used it even once ever since, however.

"Hm..."

Now that we think about it, Mbaya's name and class is... she's a Okaba's pet. Uh, we had no idea he had picked up [Beastmaster] levels. Well, there's no reason he couldn't or shouldn't, we just didn't know about it.

Also, it is a bit surprising that as a person born in this world, he can interact with a pet well enough to assign her 'people tasks' and dress her up.

Then again, he's always been a succubus fan, so maybe its just because she's a succubus.

Ah, her level is in the low three hundreds, by the way.

Well, it is rather low for us, but isn't it amazingly high by most people's standards?

"Hm... Mbaya."
"Yes?" - she looks at us attentively
"Your level... how have you been leveling up?"
"Ah! This one is one of his majesty's volunteers! This one is an important system researcher!" - she says it carefully, making sure she doesn't bites her tongue again

Well, that doesn't really tells us much.

"Uhmm... and that means that you...?"
"Ah! This one apologizes! This one has been testing out the pet system for his majesty! This one has followed the journal's notes and leveled up in shifts! Yes, this one is a valued research assistant!"

She looks super proud of herself.

"Do you know what his majesty wishes to speak with us about?"
"Maybe? There's been a change in the [Equip] function, as recently as a week ago."
"How so?"
"Ah, we are here. You can ask his majesty yourself."

She stops outside a solid-looking door with a single human guard.

Is the door this solid because it is important to keep people out, or to withstand lab accidents, instead? I mean, the guard isn't particularly high level.

Once we are allowed in, we see Okaba holding what looks like a larger, two-handed version of a lightning gun... succubus? A perfectly to-scale succubus stretched straight forth over a crossbow-like stock, the copper ball that goes at the tip of a lightning gun poking out from her lips, her wings spread forth towards the sides in a lightly deformed size, making up a pesudo crossbow arms while she is stretching one leg and bending the other... it takes us a moment to realize the tiny succubus is indeed arranged perfectly in order for its body to supplant a lightning gun's stock, barrel and arms, with her tail curled in and acting as trigger while her horns make a rather passable iron sight.

"Oh, Eldric, thank you for coming." - our friend greets us calmly, as if absolutely nothing was wrong - "What do you think?"
"I remember you added succubus wings to your country's rockitship light cruisers, but using a fully sculpted succubus body for a gun is a bit much..."
"Uhm? Oh, I did not participate in its design, though I do wish I had been consulted. The center of gravity leans forth a little bit and there's no belt to hang it from one's shoulders. You are stuck holding it until the [Equip] is cancelled, and-"
"Wait, is that a pet? But [Equip] turns pets into armors."
"It hasn't for about a week. Not since we sent the lightning guns into production. I believe there was a ... what did Sykia call it...? A system update."

He casually tosses the lightning gun away, and with a poof of mana, it changes into a fully sized succubus dressed in a white lab coat.

"Thank you Jua, that will be all. Please take today's notes down to the library."
"Yes, your majesty." - the neon pink succubus replies, and casually picks up a small stack of documents.

She's completely neon pink, hair, wings and skin. Ah, lets try and hold back on any comments about looking like a strawberry candy. At least her horns are midnight black.

"Honestly, I haven't equipped a pet in many months."
"Is that so? Since you have such variety, I was hoping you would have more insight than me."
"Give me a minute..."

Let's try calling out and equipping...

>Miel II.

"Well, is it alright if I call out a pet here?"
"Of course. I was hoping you would."

Our friend moves over towards the back of the room and opens a cabinet, then pulls out a medium-sized cloth bag.

Well, this isn't so much a lab as a lounge room. There's a tea pot in the table (though the table itself has been moved against a wayy), and some tea cups.

"What are those?"
"Sweet treats. Most pets like them." - he explains

We nod, and call out of honey faery princess.

"Ah, Master." - she quickly kneels down as we had taught her to, sitting on her heels, knees wide apart, back straight and hands behind her back.

Our friend doesn't seems to find anything odd about our faery's posture. I guess he has his head full of succubi, or despite treating pets more like people, he still doesn't sees them as potential partners.

"Oh, a faery, is it? Please try equipping her."
"Of course."

"[Equip]"

There's a small burst of mana as Miel dissapears and a staff is left in her place, then floats towards our extended hand in a moment.

It looks like a gold and black staff with three hexagonal, slightly golden crystals near the tip, surrounded by almost clear "blades" that look like bee wings.

"Hm. Now I wish I hadn't sent Jua away with the report, I have nothing to write in at hand." - he says while looking around the room
"Please excuse me." - Dawn beats Lyann at pulling out some sheets of paper and some pencils.
"Fumu., Thank you." - Okaba receives them and sits at the table to make a sketch of the staff and write some notes. - "Equipped pets not only turn into obvious weapons, they also grant two specialized attacks. Can you tell me which ones do Honey Faery staves grant, please?"
"A moment... [Fairy Queen Rage]. Its a non-elemental wide area attack. I can't see the second skill anywhere."
"You need to reinforce the [Equipped] pet with a second pet. You need to unlock the ability to do so by equipping a pet in 25 encounters, from what I have tested so far."

How thorough. Honestly bordering OCD... well, I guess a researcher is methodical or isn't a researcher at all.

"I assume you tried more times than that."
"I tried 100 times, and nothing more happened." - he explains
"I guess its safe to say nothing else will happen, then."

Well, its not as if we can use the AoE inside the room.

"How about trying with a different pet? Also, could you sell me a faery type pet?"

The world's system encourages people to think of Pets as expendable, especially ones that are created via the simple data copies.
But should we think of them as people, because they can think?
We haven't, not really, since we've made free people into Pets for our convenience, even if it was to save them at the time. And we create Pets for our own purposes.

Well, in case you've forgotten, I use the Disgaea rules as a base, including the exp needed for level up, along with the Ragnarok Online card system, so assuming Eldric does a little experimenting,,,

Pets that were villagers, nomads, nobles, slaves, etc (people, pets that were ppl before being pets) will count as "unique" for purposes of which weapon they turn into, though that mostly just means they may turn into weapons that aren't typical for their species.

Axe -> Most Beastkin

Gauntlets -> ursines and undead

Swords -> Dragons

Guns -> Succubus, goblinoids (goblins, orcs, ogres, etc) and most plants. Go figure.

Spears -> Most elementals, some fairies

Staves -> Most fairies, foxkin and sea sprites (ie Lyra)

Maces -> Beasts and aurochkin

Bows -> Rabbitkin and some plants. I guess plants are ranged one way or another.

Following the Disgaea way, some unique pets may morph into atypical weapons for their type. For us, I can think of:

Sword -> Krabby, Lyanna
Axe -> Sykia, Kya
Spear -> Atroma

Pretty much all weapons can be enhanced by "double equipping" but that just makes the weapon stronger and visually bigger, with a few exceptions. Pic related.

Well, it literally takes us less than a minute to breed a new fairy for Okaba...

"Honey fairy or jungle fairy?"
"I can probably secure a jungle fairy myself, so the first type, please."
"Alright."

We breed Miel II and Lyanna, which gives us a cute redheaded fairy.

By the way, she turns into a staff, which is normal for her type.

Ah, it would feel wrong to name her and give her away, so lets have Okaba come up with a name for his new pet.

Of course, experimenting with who turns into what takes the rest of the day, so our friend is quite happy to have us stay for dinner.

As for the night...

After we are done looking into [Monster Equip] with Okaba (for the day at least) and as the sun starts going down past the horizon, we thank him for his hospitality (our pets did like the candies a lot, so we asked for a large bag before we left) and head back to Alquia so we can cuddle our cute empress to sleep.

Hn. This time, she is already in her pajamas. Well, she looks quite beautiful in the almost-clear babydoll and lace panties, tho.

"Eldric, welcome back" - she says happily as her soft feet go paf paf while she walks to us on the soft rug that covers the room from wall to wall.
"Thank you." - we welcome her to a hug and a kiss, before eventually following her to the table for dinner

Ah, her hair is hanging behind her, secured just near its end with a simple wood and rubber piece. Wait, it may be simple looking at it from our modern perspective, but ruber was introduced into this world quite recently, wasn't it?

I guess merchants and artisans are quicker to adapt than we thought.

By the way, her hair reaches almost all the way to the floor behind her. It looks eminently feminine, but it is a little bit of a shame that it covers her shapely back so much... well, that's why we prefer the twin ponytail style for out girls, after all.

"Thanks to you, I have been talking with big sister a lot as of late." - she says happily

After kissing our cute empress goodnight, we move to the eastern frontier, and find that the workers we brought over from the Mantequira manor have finished cleaning up and are now busy at placing the furniture back into place.

Well, we could get as much personnel as we did because the teleport formation linking our states here and in Mantequira basically means that the workers can come and go as needed. It may even make sense to think of this state as just the eastern wing of our manor in the capital.

By the way, the honey faeries we brought over are already buzzing aryind after starting a new hive. Right now its a rather small one, of about the size of a small hand cart.

"Ah, young master." - one of the servants spots us and greets us right away

As he explains, there is a problem with noise coming out from underground in the backyard at night.

Its not a haunting, is it?

Apparently it is, though. The man explains that it sounds as if something was wailing, but it is definitively not the sound of a living creature.

I like how they assign all sorts of meanings to it, and just casually dismiss the earthquake. I live in Arica, Chile, which is THE most seismically active spot in the world (we have 3 tremblors a minute, of intensity under 1, and JUST had one of intensity 3 a few minutes ago).

"Noone knows what this noise coming from the mountain is"
*lots of stupid explanations follow, including the opening gates of hell and a dragon under the mountain*
"Incidentally, a 4.5 earthquake happened"

Yeah, su~re, the earthquake had nothing to do with the earth moaning. Ri~ght.

We have the staff ready the master room so we can spend the night there, and if possible, a guest room for our little sister, as she'll be staying with us in a few days.

Well, the kitchens aren't set yet so everyone is cooking outside for now. It gives a BBQ feeling, but our workers wouldnt feel comfortable eating next to the boss so let's go out for our own meal. It will be like a date, probably.

"Alright, let's look for a nice place and order some meat dishes, then." - we rub rub Dawn's head

Yup, our horny strawberry has been working seriously for a while now, so let's indulge her a little bit.

"Ah, Maste~r" - she starts - "Will you feed me your big, tasty meat? But it isn't even night time yet. No, before that, we're outdoors, you know? But, if that's what you want, then... then..." - she declares while holding her face with both hands and squirming gently

We stop patting her head and smack her (gently) instead. The nearby staff are trying to look away, you know?

It may have been our fault for giving her a prompt like that, though?

"Alright, let's go look for a place with a view,"
"E-exhibition play!?"

We smack her again. (A bit less gently this time)

Hm, asking a local coach driver, we could go for a restaurant by the seaside, or one further up inland if we find swampland to be more to our liking.

Well, having said that, the swampland isn't mud and fetid gas, but more like a thousand little islands with clear, greenish waters full of plants and flowers. We can see plenty of beautiful, colorful birds and small critters playing high in the trees so it is a valid option.

Our manor is just on top of a hill right at the edge of the swamp, though, so its a sight we'll ge quite familiar with mighty quick. Well, we can also see the sea across town, though.

"What are the restaurants like?" - Lyann asks the driver
"The Lily Bloom is a restaurant on a boat." - explains the driver, referring to the sea-side restaurant - "While the Jade Garden is a two story building at the edge of the swamp, on stilts."

They both sound rather colorful, but I think our redhead was asking about the attention and food quality. Well, if they're high class businesses, our driver may not be able to afford them either way, so let's not clarify.

"Take us to the Lily Bloom, please."

The roads in this city aren't the best, made up of cobbled together rounded stones rather than flat stones or any other material but... it is a city on the hills by the sea, so it has a lot of rather sharp ups and downs. If the roads were smoother, it feels like the coaches would slip and get into accidents all the time.

It is obviously extra strain on the animals they use to pull the coaches, but the large, lumbering lizards don't seem to notice.

"Ah, they should at least use suspended seats." - our strawberry maid comments after grabbing a left over pillow and piling it under her bottom
"Come think about it, most places we've been in do use that sort of thing. Seats suspended on ropes or chains, or even spring suspension in some places." - Lyann comments while looking around the coach

I think it is a good thing it is a closed coach. It would be slightly rude if the driver could hear them.

Now that we are the governor, should we do something about the roads and coaches or leave it to the private industry?

As for the restaurant, once we arrive, we find that it is a wide, two-story tall boat restaurant. Surprisingly big for this world, considering its not one of ours and actually looks quite old, if well taken care of.

We explain the concept, and the man replies.

"Then what are you doing at the door?"
"I'm just shooing away beggars and other undesirables." - he explains

Well, indeed, it would be quite annoying to have a beggar approach the table while we are having a meal.

"I see, thank you for explaining."

The man nods and we start heading in, when Dawn looks at him and after a moment, asks:

"I understand beggars, but who else qualifies as undesirable?"

>>Turn around, and leave

Yeah, we wouldn't be able to smile at Stella and pat her head if we didn't leave now.

"Hm? What's wrong, sir?" - the bouncer asks as we turn around
"What do you mean, no beastkin or gnomes? I cannot support a racist stablishment!"
"...is not like that. The beastkin tribes are in a warpath, aren't they? After many fights, the owner decided the simplest way to stop their fights is to not let them get inside."
"...ah."

Well, we can certainly understand that if members of warring tribes got in at the same time there would be a fight.

"And the gnomes?" - asks Dawn
"Oh, noone likes those little bastards."

Alright, that -is- racist.

"We're leaving. Thank you all the same."

We usher the girls back into the coach and ask the driver to take us to the other restaurant.

"I woner what the problem with the gnomes is." - sighs Lyann after the coach starts moving
"Well, the ones at Blacklake seem quite civilized, if a little unhinged. I can't imagine them getting into tribal fights, though."

We sigh, and pull in Lyann to cuddle and grope for a bit.

"W-why!?" - she asks with a smile and a blush
"It calms me down." - we reply as we pull out her shirt

Anyway, the restaurant on stilts also doesn't allows beastkin or gnomes inside.

Maybe there's some gnomish enclave here that's being mad scientist, leading to a bad reputation for gnomes?

"...let's just go in. We won't learn anything by walking away, and I'm already hungry, too."

The girls nod, and we move forth, finding the restaurant to have quite an elegant but simple look, with polished golden wood floors, solid but well-made furniture and many painted paper screens lined up against the walls, with a few monster heads every dozen feet on the walls.

Lets be grateful they are all legitimate beasts we do indeed recognize as monsters. What should we do if we ever saw a succubus' head mounted on a wall, for example?

There is a thick, wide circular glass floor in the middle of the room with the tables arranged about it, allowing customers to peek at the waters under the restaurant. A small number of bright, colorful fish and water plants calmly circulating between the stilts under the restaurant.

An usher approaches, and offers to take us to a table, so we follow her and she seats us by the balcony. There is a small number of patrons, and as the usher walks away, a waiter approaches and gives us a chart while pouring some fruit juice for us.

"Please ring this bell when you are ready to order, sir."
"Thank you."

The waiter leaves us alone, so we can read the menu at our leisure.

"Well, we set off to enjoy some meat dishes, so let's pick that way, even if it isn't their specialty."

Each dish has a small description under the name, so it isn't hard to pick something that sounds good.

Of course, we are 4 nations and maybe twice as many cultures removed from home, so everything sounds new to us, but we end up setting for a mint-filled meat with hot sauce dish called "Dragon's Tongue". Highly dubious that any dragon bits have gone into this dish. Clearly a spicey dish.

Lyann asks for a Pinion Fillet, and Dawn wants a Cut of the Day with pepper.

As for drinks... we are still a week away from being a legal adult. Wait, is Dawn a legal adult? She's 1/2 vampire and has commented that her lifespan will stretch into many, many centuries, so should we let her ask for alcohol?

Well, Lyann is almost 20, so she's a legal adult here and in many countries back on Earth, too.

Sorry guys spent all day playing Disgaea 5. Quite frustrating since I had to farm a pretty rare weapon so I could farm a really rare weapon and now I can start farming a ridiculously rare weapon so I can try to get an ultimately rare weapon... I think I'm done for a couple of days. Too much grinding.

>>Let her drink

Well, old enough to get married, old enough to drink, I guess. Plus, she's 5'6" and 110lbs or so, she's not going to get drunk on a cup holding barely half a glass of low-alcohol wine with a large meal.

Twenty minutes later, of course she was drunk, and openly amorous.

"Ma~ster, you're sho warm, lemme cuddle up to you~" - she cooed while trying to get on our lap on the ride back

Indeed, this is the first actual cliché we've actually run into: Lightweight drinker cute girl is actually a dangerous drunkard.

By the way, the local gnomes are not the cliché slightly-to-plenty crazy researcher, but a bunch of barbaric thinkers. Quite literally barbaric, as they are low-tech nomads that like to imitate other people's technologies without actually adopting those technologies, and so for example they made 'metal swords' by wrapping wooden swords with insect chitin. Mostly everyone thinks of them as harmless... but extremely annoying, as they keep trying to steal anything they can to copy it.

And they don't even have the bullshit "we don't have ownership as such" of those long-hated kender cunts from our old world's D&D, no, they understand they are stealing, they just make a sport out of it.

So, pretty much everyone hates the little cunts.

"Ma~ster, are you listeni~ng? I wanna see you tense up inside me~" - our strawberry maid chirps, a little redder than usual

"Yes, yes, wait until we get home." - we give her a little kiss
"Boo... Master is a meanie, even though I'm feeling so good and needy..." - our cute strawberry maid pouts while sitting on our lap with her knees at either side of us
"Hold on for a bit, alright?" - we give her a kiss and caress her legs gently, rubbing our fingers on her legs under her skirt
"Master, don't get her too excited. Remember she's part succubus and they 'hunt' through sex, so... well, normally it wouldn't be a problem, though." - Lyann chirps in from the side

Right. I guess its a good thing we are planning on being loving and tender, then. Aren't we basically dangling a large ham in front of a wolf right now?

As we arrive home, we ask Lyann to carry Dawn on her back while we open the door.

We really wanted to carry her ourselves, but we're on the street still and need to think of our position as governor now.

WHOOOOM!

"Wha!?" - ah, that seems to have woken up Dawn a little bit

Our teeth ached, and the manor's windows trembled.

"Lyann, take Dawn to bed, please? I will try and find out what is making all tha-"

A new booming soundwave cuts us off. Lyann nods and takes off with Dawn towards the bedroom, while we walk through the manor to the backyard.

The sound comes once more before we make it to the door, and then as we finally emerge into the garden, we see a very strange thing, as there is a straight, barely glowing light extending as far as we can see in a straight line towards the north and south, almost at the edge of the swamp.

'What?' - we don't really have anything constructive to say, even in our head.

Walking forth, the next booming sound makes it clear that, indeed, this is the source of the noise. As we reach the line, we realize it is about two inches thick. It looks as if the ground was becoming 'unglued', like a creamy cookie being split apart, but then smashed back together by force almost immediately.

****

Hm

The servants have dutifully cleaned the garden as part of the manor's renovation, so there's no convenient twigs lying around, but... oh, there's a gardening hoe some distance away, so let's see what happens.

We pick up THOT (that hoe over there) and stretch it over the area where the line appears and dissapears, and as soon as it (the line) lits up again, the hoe snaps cleanly in two and the half over the line falls to the floor.

This is bad, isn't it? We were about to step over the line ourselves... no, well, we weren't going to do that, but it was an idea. Anyway... what to do?

"Master, I tucked in Dawn already." - Lyann approaches us calmly, but then falls back on her perfect backside when the noise comes back

"Ah, you don't need to..."
"You did say you'd keep her company tonight."
"...right."

Well, it is already a little past sunset by the time we reach New Hope, but the streets don't seem any emptier than during daytime. They're not any fuller, either. It looks like the succubus just haven't quite grasped work hours or just don't care.

Well, as a collective, the best way to describe them is 'silly, quirky girls who only do what they want to do', after all.

Plus, their nightvision is much, much better than our own, so perhaps night time just doesn't has the same meaning for them as it does for us.

"Mister, would you like to come to my restaurant!?" - a petite empusa calls to us softly
"Oh, hello there. No, thank you, I just ate 20 minutes ago or so."

She looks at us, and lifts her right hand to her chin for a bit, then nods.

"Would you like to come to our whorehouse, then?" - she asks with a dazzingly bright, happy smile

We should check on work conditions, since we're responsible for these Succubi, and we promised Lyann 'no sex with new girls without her present'.

Also, the Succubi were recently Civilized; she might be old enough to be a Succubus but our Civilizing of her locked her into an Empusa body. She might be even older than us due to a quirk of the System, so we shouldn't assume that she's really a young child.

"I'm both hands old!" - she says proudly, then closes her eyes as she enjoys the headpats

So she's then. Well, the succubus are a race of adorable savants. They are really, really good at one thing, and goofballs about other things, so it is not much surprise that she doesn't seems to know how to count.

Come think about it, they don't have a school yet, do they? We should see about that.

"You are a bit young to work at a wh- brothel, aren't you?"
"What's a brothel?"
"Its a nicer way to call a whorehouse."
"Brothe-l... that's almost a male word..." - she pouts softly - "A nice customer once gave me some treats and said I was a 'cute little whore', so I like whorehouse more!" - she sounds really proud
"...alright. Hn... do you work at the whorehouse?"
"Yes! I clean and wash and reach out for clients! I am the 'store's poster girl'! It is a big deal!"
"...alright." - we rub rub her soft hair a little bit

She really is cat-like as she closes her eyes and lets us pet her.

"What do you like to do?" - we ask her, knowing that she most likely has a specific thing she's really good at, as typical for her race
"I like getting petted! And I like making cheese!"
"Eh? Just cheese? Not cooking in general?"

She shakes her head from side to side

"I like making cheese!"

Well, I guess a town would need a dairy, after a- wait.

"Where do you get milk from?"

We thank the little empusa while thinking that we'd really like to have a few words with the ass that called her a cute little whore, and head out towards the river shrine.

Surprisingly(?), there's some flowers at its base, and it has been washed clean recently. It looks like some of the succubi are taking care of it.

As before, we go into a portal, though this time we appear some distance away from the house instead of right in front of it.

It still looks peculiar that the goddess in charge of the world has such a simple and functional little house instead of a palace, castle, or even a manor, grove or whatever else, but it is probably a good thing that she is not the pretentious or ceremonial type.

Walking over, we clean our feet in the welcome mat and ring the bell of the modern-looking home.

The goddess replies from inside the house with a clear, bright voice. "I am coming, please wait!"

She opens the door, dressed in a large, very eiry and fantasy-like, goddess-like light pink dress that at the same time manages to have lots of fluttery bits, cloth, and lace, and yet has quite a bit degree of exposure while being obviously elegant. Should we say it is what we'd expect from a fantasy goddess?

The fluffy sandals sort of kill the mood, though. Pink, fluffy, and with bunny ears. They do look super comfortable, though.

"Hm, welcome! Come on in!" - she invites us

Well to be honest they already happened.

***

The goddess invites us in and serves us some tea. It takes us a moment to realize it is earl grey, hot.

"Yes, I do have a sense of humor." - she explains when we give her a look

We talk for a bit, and then finally ask her about the map and system updates.

"To be perfectly honest, you have all the luck." - she says - "Good and bad together, I think? You did find some really cute girls, good friends, and so on, and you did get throw into the middle of a multiuniversal invasion so I guess this is a rather tiny event when put into context, but to put it simply, your new house just happens to be right next to a hex edge when that hex happens to be updating. Nothing super special about it. I do work, you know? You heard about the new dungeons popping up here and there, right?"
"I only heard about the one, not too far from here."
"Well, there are a lot of new ones, which requires a map update. It should be over harmlessly in a few days, except for those poor souls that happen to step over a hex edge right as it is updating but the odds are... well, I guess your odds are more like a certainty."
"So you are adding more dungeons to the map. I assume it is because of the invasion. But so far from Eopolis?"
"Everywhere. There is a good chance that if you do manage to repel the [ERROR]s, and I like the chances as they are right now, a flood of those things will flee in every direction, so everywhere will need dungeons to suck them in." - she explains
"In that case, I guess most of the dungeons are appearing around the keep."
"Right."
"And the system update? Or the pet update, I guess."
"Well, besides giving extra abilities and stats, it should hopefully popularize the pet system,"
"Wait, stats?"
"You didn't notice? You get 50% of the monster's stats added to your own. Right now that's it, but isn't that a lot? A simple update with potential for expansions if you mortals work on it and come up with new spelltricks around it."
"...!?"

Half of a pet's stats... well, we have a lot of high level pets, so it would obviously be a huge boost. We could even hand a strong pet to a low level fighter... wait, in that case isnt it better if the pet went out to fight instead?

As we ask, the goddess explains that there IS a cap to attributes, and we are already pretty close to it. She means 'you mortals', not 'us' specifically, though. The pet system updates is a way to 'cheat' and expand that limit by 50%

"I really can't raise the cap any higher."

She comes back after a few minutes, along with some documents.

"These are the squad types." - she explains - "I did a bit of research, and it seems like modern day adventurer guilds do not have a squad np- I mean, officer. A squad officer."

She was this close to saying 'npc' wasn't she?

"So, what does a squad officer do?"
"He or she would allow you to assign varying adventurers to groups that enhance their members abilities in some way, as you can see in these papers..."

Skill Training Squad / Allows all squad members to use and learn non-unique, non-racial spells and powers of the squad leader (after using said power a number of items)

A dragon leader wouldnt allow a harpy to breathe fire, but the harpy could use the dragon's spells.

Boot Training Squad / Squad members gain a % of the exp earned by the squad leader.

The squad leader does not lose exp. The exp share effect starts small (10%) but as the squad members remain in the squad, the bonus grows up to 60%

Relief Party / Squad members NOT in combat automatically recover hp, ailments and debuffs after the end of combat.

Either incredibly useful, or useless. You decide.

Supply Depot / Squad members can be 'attached' to a party as a special member that cannot interact with any combatant except by the use of [Inventory Items].

Healing potions and hand grenades are fair, though. If the party gets TPK'd the attached squad member also dies, tho.

Status Symbol / Flat-chested female members each receives a +5% increase to all stats per squad member.

Don't look at me, I didn't came up with it! I told you im using Disgaea stuff! 5 members max, btw

Giant Killer Squad / Start every battle with the [Enlarge] buff on. Lasts 3 rounds.

Boosts all stats by 50%

Fan Club / All squad members with the same [Job] receive +2% to all stats per every other squad member with the same [Job]

Hunter Team / Squad members can use [Tame] on dungeon monsters

Special Ops Squad / Enemies receive no bonuses when attacking squad members from the sides or from the back. Squad members receive no penalties when attacking enemies with evasion abilities, invisibility, etc.

NEET Squad / Members receive exp for existing. Stat growth upon level up is cut by half.

Dungeon Adventure Squad / Various lucky events happen inside dungeons.

Drop rates are vastly improved, treasure chests have better loot, rare monsters spawn more often, etc.

Life Support Group / Members can triple jump outside of combat,

Ability Squad / Members learn special abilities after X numbers of battles.

Learn "Unity" after 5 battles.
Learn "Aggression" after 15 battles.
Learn "Magichange Reform" after 30 battles.
Learn "Double Bladed" after 50 battles.
Learn "Cross Formation" after 75 battles.
Learn "Bond of Souls" after 105 battles.
Learn "Fusing Souls" after 140 battles.

Elite Four / Members earn 50% exp but stats grow 80% more upon leveling up

Connoisseurs / Able to prepare special buff meals

Let's throw that sword into the soup and see what happens! Yes, really!

"These are very nice to know" - we comment - "But they don't really help me level up any quicker."
"Uhm? But if you enter the Boot Training Squad as a member, you will earn exp thanks to the leader, as well as whatever exp you are already earning from your pets, right?"

"Just remember, you can't be in more than one squad at a time."
"Oh. So, which adventurer guilds have a Squad officer right now?"
"Bastion and Gardale." - she replies

Probably. But honestly I think we should worry about ourselves rather than about beating an old guy that isnt really in the way or against us anyway. I dont get your obsession with him, he barely there

He's a benchmark, and a highly visible goal that we can compare ourselves against.

Other: check out the dungeon that appeared in New Hope, talk with the Matron about them
Almost forgot about this. We were supposed to be concerned about the new dungeons and how close they are to town. And about the brothel.

We go back into town and, sure enough, find the brothel's poster girl looking for customers.

After giving her some treats, we ask her if she can show us to the dungeon... and she declines.

"But my job is to show you to the whorehouse. Can't I shoe you there, instead?"
"But I am not looking for that."
"It is not my job." - she pouts, feeling quite guilty after taking candy from us
"Can you point me to someone who could, then?"

She seems to think about it for a moment, then lights up with a smile.

"Yes! Let's go!"

She tugs on our hand and guides us... sure enough, to the brothel.

"Alright, you got me here, but this isn't where I wanted to go..." - we sigh and rub her head gently
"But it is full of adventurers, so they should be able to show you there, right?"
",,,I guess you are right."

It feels a bit weird to wait for someone to come off a brothel just to hire them as a guide, though.

By the way, the brothel is also an inn and a tavern, and its kitchen is open around the clock.

...it is a surprisingly nice-looking place, quite clean and spacious, with solid but well made furniture, and decorative plant pots in the corners.

It even has a tall, large aquariom on the far all full of level 1 firefish.

"Oh, a customer. Please come this way." - an older-sister type succubus approaches us and guides us to a table - "Would you like a special girl, a meal, drink, or room? Perhaps a combination of the lot?"

She is dressed in a simple and light one piece dress that reaches down to her ankles, with a hive-like pattern over her breasts, offering a look at the soft firmness underneath. To be honest, she is dressed much more traditionally than we expected.

Well, it looks nice, so isn't it fine?

"Ah, actually I was looking to hire a guide to the new dungeon..."
"Hm. Well, if you pay the usual fee, you can hire a girl to take you anywhere." - she replies calmly

Right, I guess that's an option too.

"Being a guide seems interesting." - says the bright red succubus we hired - "I'd get to go to exotic places and get paid for it..."
"You'd probably need to be rather strong, first."
"Hm hm." - she nods nods softly

If we weren't so used to dealing with her kind, we probably would feel downright odd about dealing with a red devil with black horns and a long tail ending in a spade shape, dressed in black clothes and wielding a trident.

"Why a trident, of all thing?" - we wonder aloud
"I like fishing. The goddess doesn't mind."
"Doesn' she gets pissed if anyone spills blood inside the river?"
"Not fish blood."
"Why not? How do you know?"
"I hired an adventurer to check!" - she declares happily
"That was... rather mean."
"They're paid to run risks, right?"
"So... why not fish."
"Every single fish, ever, eats other fish. You think that doesn't spills blood? No such thing as a vegetarian fish. See? It was a calculated risk."

It was still mean.

Well, the dungeon is indeed brand new. Being a wild dungeon rather than a proper dungeon, there's no level 1 chickens on the first floor. Instead, there's hordes... flocks? Flocks of large black ravens.

These ravens are pretty big. Did ravens actually come in "large dog" size back on Earth? Well, they're still level 1, though.

"What do these even drop?" - we ask our guide
"Black feathers? Kill one and find out, I'm a whore, not an adventurer. And soon, a tourist guide!"
"Tourist guides should answer the tourists questions."
"Oh!"

She thinks about it, her tail flocking to a side and the other

"Should I kill one and tell you, then?" - she adds

Right, these girls get stupidly serious about whatever interests them.

"No, I don't think its really important..."

Well, now that we are here

This will break the chain from the [XP Chain], but I'm curious about the core. I would feel bad if it's another nice Boss Monster like Lyra or Atruma.

Can someone explain to me how this quest works or throw me a summary? I've opened a few of these threads every once in a while to see what was going on and couldn't make heads or tails of it but now the QM is talking about Magichange and squads from Disgaea which wasn't a thing the last few times I checked these threads. Sorry to bother

We were a chemical engineer that died in a plane crash and was reincarnated in this world.
This world works just like an RPG, with Hit Points, Magic Points, and monsters dropping loot instead of corpses that need to be disassembled.
That's because the gods of this world designed it to work that way, down to the planetary surface itself being terrain hexes.

Currently, the entire world is going through an Expansion Pack update, with terrain features being changed and various systems, like the Pet System, being updated.

Squads were apparently an old system feature that people stopped using, but is still written into the world system.
The Goddess told us to use it to get levels faster, or make each level count for more.

Well, 'ignore play' is a thing, after all.

We send Lyann a message to keep Dawn company, but to make it part of their toy training...

>and make her cum over and over
>and tease her without letting her cum at any time
>and just leave her alone for 'ignore play'

...then head down into the new dungeon along with our guide.

"Ah, I can't believe I forgot to ask, but what is your name?" - we ask the neon red succubus
"Blue" - she replies with a deadpan face
"..."
"Sunset." - she smiles
"Alright. Please accept the party invite before we go in."

We dive in, and quickly make our way down to the tenth floor. Well, our own level is in the low thousands by now, so a starting dungeon like this doesn't has anything that we could consider a challenge, other than the labyrinth of the dungeon hallways themselves. As such, we quickly make our way to the tenth floor (in a little over an hour), and find that the 10th level dungeon boss (and core guardian) is a gigantic ram.

The guardian runs straight at us to headbutt us... well, I guess 'the ram rams us' would be correct but... no, nevermind, lets leave it at 'the guardian rams into us'.

Of course, between a level 10 monster and a level 2275 adventurer, the level 10 is going to do less than 0.

We punch at its forehead, and the ram doesn't even has time to feel the blow before turning into light and dissapearing.

...it left behind two large metal jugs with [Goat's Milk].

1/?
>>
Oy, oy, it was a male ram, you know? We were wondering what was it that dropped milk in this dungeon, but shouldnt it have been a female monster, at the very least?

Well, the boss will respawn in a little under 20 minutes, so lets have a quick look in the meanwhile.

The core room is quite ample, looking like the inside of a massive barn with hay on top of a wooden floor, and wooden walls with support beams every once in a while. The [Dungeon Core] itself is floating near the middle of the roof, shedding soft light unto the room.

There's no treasure chests, probably because there hasn't been any casualties inside the dungeon yet.

Well, in short, the dungeon has a "farm" theme to it. We'd like to point out that the ravens on the first floor would be considered pests by any farmer, but I guess they would still be somewhat useful keeping mice and the like under control... well, we got milk, eggs, ham, beef, wood, feather, leather and grain as loot, in bulk.

Truly, a farm-like dungeon. It doesn't really qualify as a foodgeon only because of the monsters in the 1st and 4th floor (ravens and snakes, respectively), since those didn't really drop farm-like products. Wait, I guess feathers and snake leather are useful anyway, but... well, let's leave its classification to the adventurer's guild.

Now that we've checked the dungeon thoroughly, let's go back and ...
