Welcome to なんだよ異世界ゼロ!

This quest will be 100% random, poorly written and generally feature everything that players hate from a QM. It will take the premise of ShortTrip's classical "WTF Quest" and run it into a new direction.

First Turn

Everything began in your real-life. You are part of the noble caste of humanity; a shut-in NEET. You were reading the 4chan's /qst/ board when a new thread in the catalog caught your attention. The OP claimed that he was posting from another world and that his thread was a magical experiment. The description said that if you click the thread, you'd be transported to his magical realm. Strange, but it sounded like a good LARP concept. That was enough to make you click.

A few seconds later, everything around you disappeared and you found yourself sitting on a tree stump, in the middle of a clearing in a very strange forest. The colors are much too bright, and on the side of a small pond, there are mushrooms that look like small ghosts. Nandayo! You look around, confused. You rub your eyes and pinch yourself, trying to see if you are asleep. Your vision is blurry, but you seem to be well awake. A person is sitting in front of you, in the grass, and you can't quite see who it is.

Second Turn

Art: https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/82363117

Your vision gets clearer. An attractive, grey-haired woman is sitting in front of you. She seems very stern and adjusts her glasses. You notice that she's wearing a miniskirt and high heels, which must not be very comfortable to walk in a forest.

"This is kind of awkward," she says. Her voice is soft and musical.

You are a Catholic, so you first thought is to wonder if that woman is a witch. You're still not sure if you're inside of a dream, but that woman is holding a strange staff, and the environment reeks strongly of witchcraft. She's very attractive though, so you wonder if you should push this thught away for now.

You think back about all the time you spent prepping for the world end. And now, you've very far from home. So all that prepping went for nothing...

Now, to deal with that woman:

>Defecator: Talk to her as if nothing happened, while defecating
>Inquisition: Press her with questions about her nature and the end of times
>Boxer: Get angry, attack her with a combo of punches
>Run Away!: If she's a witch, she might be dangerous...

Character Sheet
You can keep voting for the character's sheet until the next round >>4383989.

Here are the ranks: minuscule, weak, low, below average, average, above average, high, exceptional

For stats, an “average” rank means the rank of an average person.

For skills and other abilities, an “average” rank means an average person skilled with this ability; an average professional. Those with less than average ranks are skilled amateurs. Yes, this means, above average skills are uncommon.

Mythic RPG
Whenever you want, you can ask me any question about the environment etc., and I will answer it using the random charts of Mythic RPG.

Third Turn

The skills were too high for a NEET: a NEET can't have Above Average professional skills. I have lowered them by 3 RS (rank shifts). Because of this, the skills Military Science and Politics were too low and were removed.

Those questions are rolled on the Mythic RPG charts

>>4384038
Q: What does the woman say?
Rolls: 13, 15
A: Decrease of The innocent
She's not innocent = she's an evil witch

>>4385102
Q: Does Arisu ask Joseph any question?
Odds: 50/50
Roll: 87
A: No

Q: What does she know about the end of times?
Rolls: 19, 41
A: Waste of Advice
She doesn't have a good advice to give

"Who are you and why are you talking to me?" you ask, as a NEET who's not used to speaking to other people.

The woman doesn't seem to mind.

"I'm Arisu Nethersteel, but my friends call me Ari. Erm..." She pauses. "We are not friends yet; I'm not friend with just anyone, even cute boys who appear before me. You can call me Ms. Nethersteel."

Wait... Did she call you a cute boy? You've never been considered cute by any standard. You think she might be trying to manipulate you, so you decide to press her with more questions.

"Ms. Nethersteel, are you a witch?" you ask.

"Erm... I guess you can say so, yes. I'm half angel, half demon, so this bloodline comes with various powers. My eyes are orange, like an angel's... Or is that like a demon's... I don't remember. And I can command the spirits of the elements."

A witch... As you suspected. But you are so clever, so it's normal that you understand situations quickly. You're not sure how you want to deal with this knowledge. First, you want to know what she knows about your favorite subjects.

"What do you know about the end of the world?!"

"I'm glad you've asked me this question." She smiles.

"And?"

She thinks hard for a moment. Her glasses make her look smart, so her thoughts are probably very evolved and difficult to express with words.

"I don't know! I have never pondered about this topic. I think that angels and demons are going to fight a terrible war. This is going to be bad news for people like me who are a bit in both sides. But I guess, there are not so many of us out there."

It sounds like she knows absolutely nothing about this subject. You sigh. You have to decide how to deal with her, now. She doesn't seem very dangerous, but you don't know how quick she is to lose her temper. You are confident in your own fight skills, because God is your copilot, but you are not sure if you can win against a magic user...

Now, to deal with the witch:
>Boxer: Get angry, call the name of god, and attack her with a combo of punches

>Intimidate: Use your Intimidate skill to rob her of all her items

"Anyway, why are you here?" you ask.

"As you probably have noticed by now, I'm extremely attractive, and this causes me trouble, sometimes. I'm here because of a rival who has been jealous of my good looks for long... She waited for me to be asleep to cast a curse on me that sent me here."

"So you don't think we've died?"

"What?! Why are you asking me that."

She looks around, confused.

"This doesn't look like either Heaven or Hell. There's no way we've died!"

Well, she might be right. You think it might be beneficial to form a party until you understand your surroundings better. But first, you feel the need to make a snappy remark, to remind her that she's not the special snowflake that she thinks she is.

"Speaking of Hell... I don't think you're half-angel, half-demon. In my opinion, you're a full demon, because your other side is a fallen angel, which is the same as a demon."

"WHAT?! How rude!!!"

She stands up.

"You have hurt my feelings by saying that, I'm just going to leave you alone. Goodbye!"

Oh no! Why did you say that? Thinking about being left alone in this strange environment, you feel fear.

"Wait! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."

She turns around.

"I'll carry your purse and massage your shoulders any time you want!" you blurt out.

Why the fuck is everything that you say completely stupid? You should have practice your social skills more. She seems very happy, though. She gives you her staff and her purse.

You ask Arisu permission to forage for food, which she kindly grants. You still feel conflicted about working with a witch, but the environment is possibly dangerous, so all help is appreciated. You wonder if she likes you, or merely tolerates you. While you complete your tasks, Arisu will take a nap in the shadow of a tree. She's asked that you wake her up if something happens.

You look around for food, confident that your experience in prepping will get you something decent. You take a look at the ghostly mushrooms. You've never seen anything like that before, so it would be too dangerous to eat it. You explore a bit further in the woods and find some fluorescent, red berries. Nandayo?! The food in this area is definitely strange. You wonder if it's a sign of radioactivity, and if you've been contaminated. You shiver at this thought. You have always been fearful of any form of contamination, so this is the scariest thing to you.

Next task. You search for sign of kuma bear activity. Bears are fluffy and adorable; if you find one, maybe they could help you out, or at least, give you a comforting hug. Well, the odds of this alien forest having any bear is low, so you know that it's only wishful thinking. You walk further to the north and find oversized cobwebs. They are definitely as big as a human being, if not bigger. Now, that's really scary. The spiders that have made such web must be impossibly big. You run back to the clearing and shake Arisu's shoulder to wake her up.

"Arisu! We have to leave! There are giant spiders in the area! I've found huge spider webs!"

"Mm... What? Let me sleep a bit more." Her voice sounds sleepy. "An hour should be OK."

"Hey, Arisu! This is a serious issue. I know you are a full demon, but your powers won't help you if you get eaten by a giant spider in your sleep!"

...

"Arisu?"

Unfortunately, she's already asleep and snoring. You sigh. You pray God and Saint Michael to guide you on your mission. In a nearly imperceptible way, this seems to fill you with some energy. Now, you feel ready to begin your mission.

Using kindling that you collected around the clearing, you make a camp fire. Then, using thicker branches and pieces of fabric from your sweater, you make four rudimentary torches. You are holding one torch in each hand, and keeping the other two as spare.

During your training as a prepper, you have picked on some stealth skills. After all, someone who doesn't know how to hide from danger has no chance of surviving the 2020 Apocalypse. Making use of this training, you walk silently past the spider webs, hoping to take the spiders by surprise.

Despite your perfect technique, you feel watched. Yet, when you look around, there's nothing. You don't like this. Then, you see it. From the trees above, a giant black widow, the size of a person, jumps on you and bites your left arm! The attack is so fast that you have no time to react. Part of the flesh from your biceps is torn away and you scream in pain. This is not how you pictured your heroic hunt to happen. You want to wake up! Now!

Q: Can you defeat the spider?
Torch-Fighting: Boxing (Below Average) - 1 RS (related skill) + 1 RS (Bible quote) = Below Average
DC: Average
Roll: 80
A: No

You call upon the will of God to save you, and mentally recite a Bible verse.

2 Timothy 1:7 -- For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

While your left arm is severely wounded, and you are weakened by the blood lost, you fight the monster with only your right arm and a torch. This is pure madness. Although you still haven't determined for sure if you are inside of a dream, you are fighting a creature taken straight out of the Lord of the Rings. Your chances of winning are thin, at best.

And the situation is worst than you thought. You are beginning to feel dizzy, and you conclude that the spider's venom was poisoned. You defensively move the torch left and right. You are not even trying to kill the monster anymore, but to keep it away. You understand your fate, now. You can't win. You feel lucky you met a fantastical woman before your death. Wait. Why are you thinking that? You didn't even get to know Arisu at all.

The spider opens its mouth and bites your head off. Your lifeless body falls on the floor. She crunches her snack, and then leaves.

ShortTrip Time 1

Throughout this thread, I will post random bits of trivia about ShortTrip's life and interests.

The opening scene, including Arisu, is taken from ShorTrip "WTF Quest". ShortTrip had asked for NPC ideas in the /qst/, and the answer was "adorkable chuuni". She was nothing like that, though, and ShortTrip's players really hated her.

Eighth Turn
Art: https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/68347592

Your brother has been missing for a few hours now. You are worried, so you go to his bedroom to investigate. His waifu pillow is on the floor, in a neglected angle. That's unlike Joseph, who always aligns everything perfectly. That's worrying. You move the mouse the turn on the computer screen. Joseph was reading /qst/. A quest in particular catches your attention. The description says that you will be transported to another world if you click the thread. Strange, you think. You don't remember seeing this quest when you checked the catalog on your phone, earlier. Out of curiosity, you click...

A few seconds later, you discover the first clue regarding your brother's disappearance. You have been teleported to an unknown location. Behind you, there's a forest, and in front of you, a deep chasm. A rope bridge runs above the chasm and you can see further away a small village.

A voice behind you says, "That's a nice bridge, de arinsu."

You are startled... Not only do you have no idea what happened to you -- where you have teleported. But when you looked around you, a moment ago, there was no one behind you. You turn around and see a blond-haired woman, dressed an expensive white dress and hat. You notice that her eyes are red, which seems unnatural. Other than that, you think she's very attractive, though.

"I wish I could cross it, but there's running water deep underneath."

You watch the village from the distance. The people over there seem to live in mausolea and tombs of stone, and not houses or huts as one would expect. Some of the buildings are in ruins, so the construction of the village must be very old. This, and the fact that the lady can't cross water make you conclude without a doubt that you are in a vampire area.

Even though you're not paying any attention to her, the lady keeps talking.

"They all must feel very hungry. This is awful, desu ne."

Now, you see what she means. The villagers seem malnourished and scrawny, and their skin has the unhealthy color of a parchment. They walk around slowly, aimlessly, like zombies. You feel some pity for those poor beings, but at the same time, you feel fascinated because you have always been interested in the subject of paranormal creatures. You don't even question your presence in this strange place. A villager spots you and walks slowly toward the cliff. You patiently watch all of his steps. When reaching the edge, he stops, and looks at you in the eyes.

"He looks so sad! Ah! This breaks my heart."

The old man remains immobile to the point that you wonder if he's turned into a statue. After watching the village for a while, you conclude that there's not much to it. They all move very slowly or remain immobile, and sometimes they prostrate and put their mouth on the floor.

"Fascinating. Anyway, what happened to the village?" you ask.

As you pay more attention to this lady, you notice that her white clothes are soiled with blood. Also, she's wearing an ornamental emerald of a very big size. That and her confident manners make you think that she's a noble of some sort.

"Ah! I wasn't know if you were dead, because you weren't moving, de arinsu." she says enthusiastically. "In the Forest of Chuuni lives a dark fairy known as Cinammon the Defender. Once, he was a friend of our village. He would bring us fairy food and wine from his people, and other marvels. All was wonderful to us, humans. We didn't expect the horrors that were to happen, de arinsu."

She looks frightened when speaking of this creature.

"For anyone who violated any of the terms of his friendship was to be cursed. Of course, we didn't know that, as he never spoke about the terms. In retrospect, it was a deep mistake to be friend with a fairy, and to assign him human traits. He's not a human, he's a monster."

She catches her breath.

"One morning, he stood at the entrance of the bridge and screamed that we had cheated him. He was referencing the game of dice that he played, sometimes. A silly game, de arinsu. But that game was very serious to him, de arinsu. And thus he cursed all of us; he turned us into blood suckers! I have spoken to a few creatures of the forest, and it turns out that Cinammon has cursed a lot more people than just us, villager."

She extends her hand to you.

"I'm Anna, by the way."

You tell Anna:

"Yeah, we'll do introductions another time. Let's enter the forest and search for my brother, Joseph."

"Ikuzo!"

"Ah, yes. I was wondering, what is life like as a vampire?"

"It's awful. Vampirism is a horrible illness that eats at your bones." Her expression becomes stern. "I do not wish this curse on any other living creature."

"Also, if you could remain silent, that would be good."

Anna zips her mouth with her thumb and index fingers, and follows you. There's a path that goes from the bridge and into the forest, and you follow it. You have never seen a forest like this. All plants, all tree leaves are unnaturally bright, some even seem to be radiating energy. In a bush, you catch the sight of a pink-furred, horned rabbit. As you are accompanied by a vampire, nothing can surprise you. Anyway, you're someone who's always believed in the occult, so you don't display too much surprise to this environment.

As you progress forward, the vegetation shows sign of corruption: dark vines cover some of the trees; thorny bushes have flowers that looks like insectoid heads. Soon, you reach a fork on the path. To the south, the vegetation seems darker.

"MM--MMM-MMM," Anna moans.

She seems a bit nervous, and you wonder why she's moaning. You look at her, puzzled.

"Requesting permission to speak," she says.

"Permission granted," a malicious voice answers, behind you.

This is the second time someone speaks behind you, that you hadn't noticed. You turn around and see a 4 feet tall man, with pointy ears, dressed with green clothes and covered with leaves. He has a big grin on his face.

"This man is a fairy! We should run away!" Anna yells.

"Well, well, aren't you quite rude. I hereby formally invite you to play dice with me. Will you accept?"

His expression changes entire and becomes very serious and malevolent.

Twelth Turn
>Compulsive Gambler: accept the game of dice

"I formally accept your invitation," you say.

The fairy sits cross-legged on the floor, and pulls a cup and a twenty-sided bone die from his sleeve. You sit in front of him. The rules of the game are simple.

You must roll the die under the cup and announce the value that you've rolled to your opponent. You have the choice of telling the truth or lying. Your opponent then has the choice of rolling the dice, or calling on your bluff. If they call on your bluff correctly, they win the game. If they were wrong, they lose. Each turn, the value announced must be greater than on the previous turn. If you roll a 20, you win.

Anna pulls on your sleeve.

"This is a bad idea! You are going to lose!"

You ignore her. Why does she even think that you're going to lose? You think of yourself as a winner. As you are the guest, you get to roll first. You feel it safer to tell the truth, and announce the value that you rolled: 12. The fairy takes the cup, rolls, and announces the value: 14.

The fairy has a perfect poker face, and you're unable to tell if he's lying or not. The rules of the games are simple, yet the game itself is very intense. You feel that you're sweating. That's not good: you can't let this puny creature make you feel nervous. You decide to rely on a gut feeling and say that he's bluffing. The fairy looks at you with a sadistic smile at the corner of his mouth, the he slowly raises the cup and shows you that he's rolled a 14. Anna squeals.

"Oops! The game is over, and I have won," the fairy says. "Now, you owe me a favor."

"You should have listened to me! I told you not to gamble with the fairy!" Anna yells.

She shakes your shoulder.

"Very well. What is it that you want?" you ask.

The fairy is leering at Anna.

"I want the girl! She's my type."

"My girl is attractive and valuable, I'm not giving her away," you say firmly. "How about you take something from her person?"

"I would be pleased with taking her panties," the fairy says.

Anna's face becomes very red from the shameful comment.

"You should take her hat instead. It's really valuable and useful, so you wouldn't lose from it."

Anna wears a wide, aristocratic hat. It might not be a great idea to give it away, but everything else that she has seems even more valuable.

"Deal."

The fairy seems to have a slightly childish mind, so he might be easy to manipulate. Once again, you get to roll first. You shake the cup energically, hoping that it makes you luckier, and take a look at the dice. You follow the same strategy as before, and announce the true value that you rolled: 7. The fairy then rolls and announces his result: 17. Fuck, that's high. This time, he's laughing out loud. If he's not bluffing, that means you'll have to roll higher than that on the next turn. You look at Anna, hoping that she can somehow provide you guidance, but she gazes away.

You think about the situation. The fairy is really too game at the game, and there's no way you can win. You have to rely on your wits and think outside of the box to win. If anything, you have much bigger legs, so you should be able to outrun him.

"Anna, let's go."

You walk away, to the north. The fairy taps his foot.

"Where are you going? We haven't finished playing?"

"Oh, that? We'll finish later, but you can tag along if you want."

"This is outrageous! You have to keep playing!"

You ignore him and keep walking. The fairy hurries behind you.

"I haven't yet decided on whether you were bluffing or not."

You see many strange and potentially dangerous plants on the path, but Anna warns you that they are dangerous and that you should avoid them. There are carnivorous plants, hypnotizing plants, poisonous plants, plant-looking monsters and monster-looking plants. If Anna was not there, you'd have died several times.

You arrive in a clearing where a grey-haired woman is sleeping in the shadow of a tree (>>4384010).

>Negotiator: tell the fairy that we may give him up to 12 commands at any point in time, and he cannot refuse them.

"All right, little man. Let's set the rules of our party. I may give you up to twelve commands at any point in time, and you cannot refuse them. If you don't..."

You make a face that you hope is both mysterious and menacing, and don't finish your sentence. The fairy crosses his arms.

"I never agreed to join your party, to begin with. I'm following you to make sure that you're not cheating."

He walks to Anna, winks at her and take her hat.

"And this fancy hat is mine, methinks."

"OK," you concede. "But what are we going to eat, then?"

"Not my problem."

The fairy sits next to the woman who's sleeping, and crosses his arms again. He seems to be a bit annoyed, or offended. It's a shame he doesn't obey your commands, but at least, he doesn't seem too threatening. If he was casting fairy magic at you or cursing you, you would be defenseless. Just in case, you tell Anna to sit with him, to keep him occupied, as he seems to have a crush on her.

The grey-haired woman wakes up. This is Arisu, who your brother had briefly met (but you don't know that fact).

"Hello, everyone? What's going on?"

You search the clearing for material to make a weapon. The only things that you find are worthless kinding, traces of sparkling dust, and a light blue crystal lying on the ground. Nothing that you could use to build a sword or a bow.

ShortTrip Time 2
We have seen in the previous ShortTrip time that he has basic Photoshop skills (>>4388269).

Less known is that ShortTrip is also a bit of a drawfag. In a shitpost quest that he made to make fun of his personal spammer, The Last Defender, he posted a little image that he drew, representing TLD fighting the /qst/ board. This image also shows some of ShortTrip's handwriting, which can be analyzed further with the science of graphology to learn previously unknown facts about him.

You leave everyone behind and enter the forest to hunt alone. There's no need for Anna or the fairy: You feel smugly confident that you know enough about this world to travel alone. You also feel confident in your own fighting abilities, for you have trained boxing against your brother for many years. You walk to the west, armed with your two fists. For entertainment, you practice some shadow boxing while walking. You're completely oblivious to your environment or your situation.

As you penetrate deeper into the forest, you see that the floor is covered with skeletons; some are normal-sized, others are smaller. Because of this, you conclude that this is the result of a war between humans and fairies. Further away, the entire forest has been burned down, and there only remains black earth, ash, and charred trees. This makes you feel safe, as there should not be any of the monster-looking plants, here. You enter this area, hoping to find some wild animals that you can hunt. The visibility is rather low, because a fog covers the area.

You see the remains of a soldier in armor, and crouch to examine the quality of his items. The sword and armor seem rusted, so they probably wouldn't be very good to use. While you're crouched, you see something move at the corner of your eyes. You look around and see that some skeletons have risen and are walking toward you. Obviously, this area has been cursed. You count the skeletons: there are seven of them, and they are blocking the path toward the clearing, where everyone else is.

Eighteenth Turn

Art: https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/77110564

You grab the rusted sword and decide to fight off the cursed skeletons. With your experience in boxing, you feel that using a sword is not too difficult; you experience with fighting stances and pacing proves useful.

You charge and bash the skeletons with the weapon as strongly as you can. Their body of bone seems almost as strong as the blade, so you go for the ribcage, which seems to be their weakest point. You manage to destroy the ribcage of one skeleton, yet it's still standing. This is disheartening. Meanwhile, the other have been surrounding you and attack from behind. You take two hits in the back -- partly absorbed by your muscle mass, but still causing deep wounds. You wonder if that's what happened to your brother, if he died fighting a futile battle in this strange world...

You realize that you have no chance of winning and try to flee. You push the skeletons that are in front of you, but the others deal more blows to you. You fall on one knee. It's probably too late to escape, so you decide to roll on your back and fight defensively. Despair is beginning to fill you, and you murmur a Bible verse.

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Your vigor is impressive, but you take more and more blows. Soon, you don't have the strength to hold your sword above you. Your vision gets blurry and you faint...

>Johnny Mama is dead, RIP
>Note: except for boss fights, all fights are resolved in one turn

This is not the end of the thread, however. In the spirit of persistence proper to ShortTrip, the "What The Fuck Quest" doesn't die so easily.
