The grinding of titanium against sandstone snapped you back into reality. Your trusty Titan, AT, was hurtling down the face of the plateau. Knowing that, since this was the first EVER Titanfall to have been performed on this face of this glorious planet of new Gloria, there was only one thing to do…

THE JORGENSON SPECIAL

AT sticks out her left arm, snagging one of the large rock outcroppings on the side of the cliff face, and, in one deft movement honed by years of practice, places the rock under her feet. Using your turbo kit to its fullest, you skid, slide, and swerve your way down the cliff, doing the occasional kickflip or spin to keep your buddy in the sky, who had recently begun circling, entertained.

……………. IN THE SKIES………………

And I was right in my assumption from before. This is, by far, the greatest show of control over a machine spirit that I could have ever seen. Even with the few years of experience under my belt, my arvus could barely pull off a 90 degree turn at semi-decent speeds. But THIS… this takes the cake of crazily beautiful.

…………….ON THE GROUND……….
...a left, dodge right, aaaand another swerve, and at the end of your final dive back to the ground, you ricochet off the stone pillar to your right, finally coming back to the cliff’s face. The ground is coming up fast. Its time for your grand finisher. In the distance you see your target approaching; an unsuspecting Ork patrol... and you have become quite the projectile.

Hitting the curved out bottom of the cliff, you jump off of the rock you were sliding on and propel the rock you were sliding on into the ramshackle... truck? whatever the hell it was, it needed to go. That's when the other truck stopped and unloaded its cargo. Some mass of mechanics and buzzsaws and other guns in the shape of a can waddled out the back, turned toward you, and with a loud "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH" charges towards you with speed unbefitting of its legs, surrounded by its cohort of foot troops.

>B. Investigate. Whatever it is, it may be useful (investigation roll)
>>
>>4387754
It can affect non orks they just can't create it or nor tap into it themselves. Basically, if the orks have whatever belief about you then that can influence you even if your not an ork. Of course, that requires earning their acknowledgment which is extremely tricky if your not a fellow ork. The Wagh field doesn't just affect objects or orks only.

Its why a certain Commissar became so infamous and powerful despite his old age poor health. Due to the orks beliefs regarding him, the waagh started to affect him too. The QM from revealing the bonuses just revealed the fact that the WAAGH and hence orks, in general, have acknowledged us. On the plus side, Jojo is far too strange that nobody will be able to tell the difference if they aren't orky. Though especially powerful psykers may have their suspicions but won't be able to prove it considering how extremely rare it is. On the plus side Chaos's influence on Jojo just got turbo fucked ironically enough. The only other way would have been the nid method.

Basically the WAAGH field is bullshit because it's literally just whatever the orks believe it affects reality and it affects not just orks or their creations. It's so powerful that the ork gods are untouchable in the Warp and the Orks are literally the only ones to win 40k. On the downside, it's really not going to do Jojo's strangeness any favors but I'm now really looking forward to Jojo's future interactions with orks. Especially Stormboys or Mekboys. That is gonna be fun.
>>
>>4387807
So, the more orks that have witnessed Jojo do badass shit, orks that are still alive, the more Waaaggh energy will be thrown at Jojo dpending on the feat he accomplished? Like kicking out an ork from midair, or shooting out the eyes of all the orks he meets to they think he never misses?
>>
>>4387809
Yeah, something like that. Fun fact memories and impressions can be passed on even from dead orks to living orks through the wagh field. Its why orks will have impressions of things despite never meeting or hearing of it before. Basically, if the orks remember you hard enough that it affects the WAGH field the Wagh field will inherit it long after they are all dead. This is how special boys are created, knowledge, and skills are passed on. Orks aren't so much as taught as magically having knowledge shoved into their thick skulls out of nowhere. After that it only takes experience. Its why teaching isn't a big thing among orks. Why teach when the WAAGH will show you what to do? Orks will instinctively find their purpose through this and assign themselves accordingly.

Anyway Jojo can't actually harvest the waagh energy himself. He can only benefit if the Orks come to believe something about Jojo at which point the WAAGH will begin to bend reality in order to conform with whatever that belief is(this is where waagh bonus or penalties come in). Another kicker is by having acknowledgement from the orks they won't be as hostile as normal you will have proven yourself ' propah orky'. They will still fight you of course but you can actually reason with them even if their not Freebootas(who are open to be hired as mercs).

So far Jojo is winning them over through superior dakka. Executing orks and fighting them with jets/pure skill should also further impress them. While keeping Legion unstoppable will make them think its tough and dead ard.

"AT, what the hell is this thing?"
John held the abomination of technology in his hands, now sparking, which he couldn't tell if it was from damage or intentional, but judging by its design, most of everything wrong seemed intentional.

"If I am being honest Pilot, by my calculations this... thing seems to be giving out the same amount of energy as a standard titan battery, albeit with some rather unorthodox modifications."

"A-and by unorthodox you mean batshit crazy, right?"

"My language restrictions prevent me from using bad words in an official mission."

"Language restrictions?... Whatever, what can we do with this thing?"

"... Please Wait one moment."

AT plucks the device out from John's hand, turning it over a few times before saying,

" I do believe we may have some use for it. If we could find more of these, we may be able to reverse engineer a sort of... power draw device."

Looking around, you notice a few remaining bits of scrap, at which you signal the lighter to mark this location for salvage, with it dropping what looks like a beacon onto the site flattening one of the larger pieces. Its then that you get a rather devilish idea, even for your standards.

"Hey AT, could you stomp around a bit in this area?"

"Um, of course pilot, but why?..."

"These orks seem to like big stompy things, so we might as well make it look like the biggest stompa came on through."

Increase predator cannon revolution speeds and fabricator's bullet production speed the only modifications we need is moah dakka.

And maybe like a shoulder mounted promethium thrower.
>acquire promethium
>make turret mount
>make it so it's only aimed generally in front of titan so it does not require a lot of computing power.
>>
>>4390084
Moar dakka and a flame belch. Perfect
>>
>>4389716
>>4389928
Can we also include a blackbox for her AI to be ejected and saved?
>>
>>4390084
The answer is always MOAR dakka. In this case we get potentially modify it with Imperium Boltar Technology to fire bolt shells or should we find an additional power source we can also rig it into a coil gun to further accelerate bullets and increase firing speed(not a true gauss gun but the next best thing through magnetizing and electrifying the barrels).

OOh, more thing we can turn the predator cannon into a meat grinder by attaching sharp and pointy things to the end as a bayonet(allah fallout 4 minigun attachment). so when we spin the gun we can shred enemies with a chainsaw/meatgrinder WITHOUT needing to resort to using a melee weapon. In other words if its still alive despite getting close shove gun barrel into face and keep shooting/shredding whatever it is.

In theory it's possible to modify the barrels and firing mechanism to fire shotgun shells instead so we can use onboard ships without worrying about jettisoning ourselves into space by shooting through the wall and into the vacuum of space/warp. A very good idea when operating in space. Bonus point explosive/incendiary shells are still a fun thing.

Those are the best upgrades I can come up with it. With the bayonet attachment being the easiest and quickest. Honestly won't take much to also turn into a blender of death. Will also leave orks in awe that something so shooty is ALSO so choppy at the SAME time!

Another attachment I can think of its a missile pack on the back that can fabricate and launch fresh missiles as needed. Slap on even bigger missiles to turn into a jetpack. That we can fire or ride upon. Guaranteed to be a huge hit among Orks. Also probably insane but fun. Why separate a jetpack and missile launcher hm?

A basic one that was brought up before is Promethium flamethrower. If we attach a tank we can pump it to a nozzle on an arm and have a flamethrower available whenever. For extra fun modify the fist to resist extremely high temperatures for FIERY FISTS OF DOOM by allowing it to pour into the first. In theory if we have extra power draw we can wire coils on our fists to also zap things while punching. A very simple modification if we have the spare power. This can even work with the meatgrinder attachment bayonet on the predator cannon by electrifying the barrels/attachment.
>>
>>4390226
Our shells are bigger than bolts.

A lot of the other stuff is... not very reasonable.
>>
>>4390226
Top attack cluster munitions that explode downwards with razor sharp and lethal shrapnel?

>FISTS OF DOOM

ftfy
>>
>>4390247
We can save on mass and increase output with smaller but more lethal rounds?
>>
>>4390226
A coil munition sort of already exists within Titanfall tech. Remember the super charged electricity boolets for the Monarch?

>shotgun shells
Nah nah m8. We want big boolet, nat even smaller ones. If it gets too small then it's not gonna do much against ork boy infantry.

>>4390267
You mean high yield fragmentation explosives.

Why would we ever need bolas?

A hover disk isnt much compared to pure dakka.

The drone makes sense but those arent upgrades, and would need to be disguised as flying Servitors.

>FISTS OF DOOM
Aweful idea if that's literal, but excellent if there are guns mounted in the knuckle or forearm as a sort of ballistic fist.
>>
>>4390270
Technically yes, but smaller = significantly less efficient, in addition to replacing the barrels to a much smaller caliber. Which in turn would cost resources. Not to mention that the bullets need to be big to ever affect any of the scary shit in 40k.
>>
>>4390331
Shotgun shells are only for boarding actions to keep ourselves from accidentally getting spaced with our own gun. The only reason I brought it up. Its less special ammo and more modifying the barrels to magnetize enough to help accerlate the bullets and boost firing speed.

>>4390267
>EXPLOSIV FISTS OF DOOM
I like your style.

>>4390247
According to the stats Imperium bolters are stronger than our gun. In theory, we can reverse engineer it to boost our own armaments. We just compensate for it with insane fire rate and endless bullets.

We wouldnt really have to worry about punching holes through starships. Even the smallest escort class ship's armor is thick enough to resist specialized 20mm shells, bolter rounds included. That is unless you're talking about those relatively smaller squadron ships designed to transport large vehicles.

Regarding bolsters, instead of trying to reverse anger bolter rounds, would could modify our Vlucan Cannon so it can electrify our bullets. Arc Rounds if you will. They deal extra damage in general, and to shield. The latter is very important when fighting gargants, considering their shields do not regenerate compared to other titan class god machines.

>>4390381

I was thinking of coil gun mod becaues it sounds easier then keeping the rounds live with electricity.
>>
>>4390420
We cant really know if Arc Rounds or Coil Guns are easier as neither of us are crazy sci-fi scientists. It's just re-engineering the Arc Rounds into the Vulcan Cannon would be relatively more easier since the technology was already readily available for the Militia.

>>4390381

Enhanced EM Acceleration and charged rounds both sound great, plus we can work with more stable materials for certain special ammo designs if we do it right.

>>
>>4390450
Because IC Jojo doesn't know much about the orks yet.

That northern patrol is looking a bit too smug for its own sake. So you reckon you'd better educate them on who was the biggest, stompiest. boi around. knowing that the high ground is superior to all other ground, you have AT scale one of the smaller plateaus to get the drop on them.

The patrol consists of 2 trukks, each seem to be carrying Killa Kans. No infantry on this one, although there does seem to be a jeep rolling alongside it, with what appears to be a flare launcher, albeit a rather over-sized and ramshackle one.

"What's the plan?" Asks AT

>Switch to long range mode and start pelting these fuckers
>Slide down the cliff face and take them by surprise with a predator cannon shoved up their ass
> That jeep bodes ill tidings, might as well take it out now before we find out what it does.

Your Cannon glows with a burning light, as it bursts with a growl, enveloping the Shoota Kan in a torrent of 20mm rounds.

With a loud "RAAGH!" the Shoota Kan stumbles backwards (Shoota is at 1/2 health)

"YOU COCKY GIT! I'll GET YOU FAH DAT ONE!"

The Kan then begins blindly firing many of its small arms and light autoguns into the air, throwing up as much in-between you and it as it can get. As you give a smug smirk, a heat warning appears on your HUD, turning your smirk into a frown.

"AT, what's happening?"

"I'm sorry dear, but it appears this desert at midday is wreaking havoc with my systems. I think we may need to be careful about what we do, otherwise I may suffer system damage."

"Oh, perfect..."

"I have enough coolant for 3 uses of the flush, but my heat sinks are fully functional as well"

Where is the heat damage located? Within the Titan, or the Predator Cannon? Why is there heat to begin with? Is the Heat a product of using the Powershot, or continued use of the minigun?
>>
>>4393712
Heat damage is located within the titan, and there's heat because the average planet's temperature combined with this portion of desert being on the equator of the planet at midday is causing an "unhealthy" amount of buildup in AT's systems. It seems as if the heat buildup is caused by usage of titan abilities like the power shot and the shield.
>>
>>4394297
Will Heat slowly reduce over time, or do we have to Flush Coolant or Pop Heat Sinks until it lowers? Can either of those two be done simultaneously as we fight, or would delicate metal bits be exposed and might be damaged?
Does this mean that Ork and Imperial type titans are at risk of overheating in hot climates as well?
>>
>>4394433
HEAT does slowly reduce over time, delicate bits would be exposed with the coolant flush, but not the heat sink purge, and yes, ork and imperial type titans are affected by the heat, which is why the Orks transport their Meks in trukks while on patrol, so they don't overheat. Thankfully the Kans don't seem to have any coolant or heat sinks to speak of, mainly because that would mean less room for guns and stabby bits, and the orks consider "Kolant" to be a coward's way of reducing heat
>>
>>4394458
So we would be able to pop heat sinks with little risk to sensitive equipment, while still engaging them in combat?
>>
>>4394532
Yes, and if the heat climbs too high flushing coolant would be the way to set the heat down to zero to prevent an overheat, but doing so would leave some o' dem shinie bits exposed if you were in combat. It's more risky with limited uses, but with better results when you're in a tough spot and dont have time to worry about heat

You send around a couple hundred rounds into the already shredded face of the Kan, the Stabba bro collapsing into the sand with a crunch and a thud, followed by a resounding KATHOOOOOM.

As he falls, you hear something else behind you coming around the bend. it sounds bigger, stompier, and judging from the yelling over its PA system, a whole lot meaner than these poor sods you just mulched. Sounds like the other patrol caught wind of your glorious BRRRRT and wanted a go perhaps?

The second Kan skidds around, coming about to face you.

"SO YOU'Z THE GIT THAT KRUMPED DA KAN BRUTHAS!" He says as he takes out what looks like a... hilt? "DAS GREAT! MORE SKRAP FOR ME DEN'!" He brings the hilt over his shoulder, attaching it to some back-mounted spikes, and brings it back forwards, now in what appears to be a mish-mash of parts that form a lance.

"AH'LL MAKE SURE TO USE YA DAKKA FOR ME MOUNT 'ERE" he says, patting his Trukk. "DEN EVERY'UN WILL KNOW DAT DA LANCA BROTHA IS DA STRONGIST AND MEANIST IN DA DESERT! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

He braces himself against the back of the trukk, and charges forwards!

Also, field repairs would be possible, but all of the damage you took is mostly just damage to the extra "burner" armor, so no repairs are needed just yet. Smart core would cause heat buildup as well, moreso than the abilities, due to the systems needed to run the "Smart" systems

If the hear build up value of the power shot is the same as the heat build up value of the smart core, then all we need to do is activate the smart core in tandem with the gun shield and the venting of heat sinks to remove 20% heat.
>>
>>4421707
the heat buildup of the Smart Core is 40%, and the gun shield is a defensive option, only coming up during enemy attacks. Besides, you crit the lanca, so it wouldn't matter much what you did with the gun shield

>continuing writing

The gun shield is for the future when we want to out Hakka people from the safely of behind a shield.
>>
>>4421785
As it would turn out, in order to gain the speeds it reached, the rear armor of the Lanca was compromised. You dumped around a hundred rounds into the back of your now pulverized opponent. Living up to Legion's purpose, your sheer weight of firepower not only pulverized what was left of the Lanca Kan, but also chewed through the Trukk it was riding on, turning both into unidentifiable piles of scrap!

You let your Predator Cannon whirr down, barrels hissing, and stand at rest, slightly winded after being dragged around so much by that lanca kan.

You turned around, satisfied with your carnage, and began shuffling through the remnants of the wreckages... and found glorious scrap!

>1,500 SCRAP GET! Total Salvage 1,900!

And you began looking around, and found something quite interesting withing the wreckage of the shoota boi...

>HEAP Rounds x2 obtained!
>HEAP Rounds: +15 to attacks armored and unarmored targets

As luck would have it, that... grot-powered saw? It seems to be one of the few salvageable weapons that don't have holes in them. With some tweaking, you might be able to make some use of this...

Obtained Mega-Saw! +15 to melee rolls, requires some tweaking before it can be used.

But that paled in comparison to what you had obtained from the Lanca Kan... his prized lance, and upon closer inspection, you were lucky it missed anything important.

>cont... 1/2
>>
>>4424553
The lance was a brutal, but efficient thing. The material was wrought in such a fashion that the spear was spiked at the end, although, looking at it now, it almost looked as if the material seemed.. out of place compared to the rest of the Mek.

"Curious... this lance seems quite curious" Mutters AT.

"Anything you'd like to inquire?"

"This material... this isn't any normal kind of metal... it's... it has the same composition as the outer hull of a MacAllan-Class carrier."

"... Huh? You mind running that by me again? You sure your scanners are working correctly AT?"

"I am certain dear, the readouts match, but... the metal seems... aged"

"How aged, would you say? If it's recent then that may mean there are more people that came through the por-"

"Around 120 years old, sir"

"..... oh"

"I'm sorry sir, but it looks as though... the fold weapon has some peculiarities we still don't understand about it just yet."

"Its alright AT, its just... I would hope that we weren't the only ones here"

"I would as well dea- IMC IFF TAG DETECTED"

"WHAT? WHERE!?"

"ABOVE!"

JoJo Swings his Predator Cannon around, the barrels whirring to life in a split second... only to just barely see the sight of a thin titan staring into the chasm... only to turn around and walk away, sheathing the sword onto its back.

"AT who was that!"

"I... i'm sorry but, I cant pick up the IFF anymore. The enemy titan seems to have purposely turned it on to scare us."

"I think we had better get moving" Says JoJo, eyeing the rest of the high-walled plateaus, "I don't like the thought of that there's someone who can make themselves invisible to radar watching us."

"That's the most sensible thing you've thought all day dear..."

......................................................................

Up high on the Plateau's top, a pilot fiddles with a small, carved wooden dragon, watching as the lumbering legion makes a lumbering sprint... away from him. "Interesting... It appears as if we are not alone here Shiva"

"Shall we engage sir?"

"No... let us observe... we have our new armor plating, so we needn't worry about being detected by radar unless I decide to reactivate our IFF again, and that thing is too heavy to pursue. Although, that pilot seemed to be in tune with their Titan quite well."

He jots a small note onto a pad of paper, remarking the exact millisecond the Predator Cannon was trained onto his titan. The man stroked his almost stark white beard, his one eye drifting over his titan's scanners.

"Yeees... we shall observe, we shall plan, and if we must," he says, setting the wooden dragon next to a small, plastic figurine of a Ronin.

"Then we shall strike."
