Hello again fellow creators/questers. After another hiatus we're back with the Final Part of this EvoGame/CivEvo series. This thread is focused on the cultural/nation building aspects of all Essarian races, including the expansion of nations, wars, genocide, etc. The Evolution aspect at this point in the game is predominantly null and void, in lieu of the game's focus of civilization building.

As GM, I'll be actively observing the thread, making sure to catalog and note any new cultural/political changes in the world and they're likely ripple effects. Additionally, I'll be providing folks that are building and fostering the growth of their sapient societies plot hooks and general technological innovations in order to keep the game progressing. This CivEvo concept is still in its testing/tweaking phase with so some mechanics, but it should at least keep it freeform enough so that player societies can develop without letting things getting out of hand.

How to play [EvoGame Rules]:
• For regular evolutions, just open an image of a species in MS Paint, Photoshop, etc; make one small evolutionary change to that species, save as .PNG, and post it with a description about the evolution and why.
• Please indicate the Generation #, the region it lives in, and any other important details about your organism.
• Details regarding a creatures size or name aren't necessary, but are encouraged.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything incredibly silly or outlandish will not be considered a canon species.
• CivEvo Rules will be explained in a later post.

General Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no race/nation/culture is considered to be totally wiped out in-game.
• Every 24-36 hours, I'll be posting a small world update with technology options for advancing each sapient groups.
• Every 24-48 hour, I'll be posting a regional event pertaining to specific races, nations and/or cultures.
• Every 72-96 hours there will be a major World Event that will impact all civilizations on Essari.

New to the Game?:
•The focus of this game is now purely in the CivEvo aspect, but I'm leaving enough tools and information behind to allow new players to join in and either make new organisms, or participate in developing the sapient organisms of Essari.
• We have a Discord to keep you up to date on EvoGame stuff, and chat with other folks. https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJ
• In the following imgur link are the source images for each of the landmass maps, including present political border [imgur(.)com/a/6MEQ9tq].
• Just a note to all newcomers, I would advise reading all of the primer material provided in my initial posts, as it will have all the basic supplementary info on races/civilizations to get you started on the right foot. Otherwise, go to the Discord link.

Above is a map of the present Essari. Details on the current setting, nations/faction, CivEvo Game Mechanics, and more in the next posts.
>>
--Current Setting--
Essari is a world shattered by the chaos of a decades long event known as The Awakening. 50 years ago a great, yet brief conflict with what some species claimed to be the living god of Essari, Emra resulted in the great beings defeat and subsequent disappearance into the ocean's depths. The immediate fallout of this Pyrrhic Victory for the combined Grabraf-Tripod-Stitcher Force was Emra's relinquishment of the AA-Node network at the request of the victorious Essarians. This release of control on the AA-Nodes, now driven to eradicate the Essarian nations seen as responsible for the loss of Emra would set off a series of genocidal cataclysms that saw the near collapse of global economics, and the stagnation of political and technological growth, in addition to the deaths of hundreds of millions.

Decades passed, and today those nations still left have survived by either isolating themselves from the world for their own protection, falling into allegiance or servitude with powerful, rogue AA-Nodes factions to avoid destruction, or banding together and fighting back through sheer force and willpower. In spite of decades of loss and struggle, the ambitions of Essari's greatest nations still burn bright. Many nations hope to one day free the world of AA-Node scourge once and for all, through reunification under a new patron AA-Node, or by eradicating them from Essari. Meanwhile others dream higher, looking to the stars for freedom and salvation from Essari.

--Sapient Technology/Cultural Advancement Rules--
• A poster ID may make up to 2 rolls for each Sapient race in a 24 hour period
• A poster ID may make up to 3 cultural related advancements in a 24 hour period
• Sapients may only roll for technologies above their current tech level (as shown in the attached pdf) if they are 8 or more technologies known of their current technological stage.
• For a technology to be learned by a sapient race, a poster must roll a 5 or higher of a 1d8 roll (Nomads of Skrigjaarden roll a 6 or higher) to successfully implement/learn a new technology. (put "dice+1d8" in the options field)
• Tier 8 or higher Technology requires a 7 or higher of a 1d8 roll.
• Any poster may freely roll for sapient exclusive technological advancements via 1d8 roll. (The context of the technology in related to the sapient races current technological state will heavily influence how successfully the technology is implemented)
• Technologies can be learned through interactions with other races and would require a 1d8 roll from a poster that is a 6 or higher. (Only 1 roll at this per day for any poster)
• The resulting roll will dictate how successful the technology is implemented into a sapient tribe. (This result also determines whether positive or negative cultural events will occur to the sapient race)
>>
--Nation/Culture Creation & Advancement Rules--
• The creation of a distinct nation/culture in a Sapient race can be done so at anytime, but is heavily encouraged to have somewhat detailed lore behind their society and its origins
• Any Sapient Race culture that is created must specify whether it is a single species culture, or if it comprised of a community of Sapient races
• Should a nation/culture wish to expand into unclaimed territory, a poster may do so by rolling a 1d8
• The resulting roll will dictate how successful an expansion of territory is implemented into a sapient tribe (A 1 does not mean an outright failure & an 8 does not guarantee success)
• The Librarian does not explicitly determine outcomes of a roll, and the poster may outline results of a 1d8 roll, if they so choose
• If a sapient race attempts to explore foreign lands or establish a new colony abroad, they will need to roll a 1d8 to determine the success of the journey and a 1d8 to indicate the resources, security and quality of the landing site for any sapient explorers or colonists
• If a sapient nation/culture tries to claim territory from another sapient race, it would be considered an act of war, unless explicitly specified as otherwise. (For example, expanding a nation's sphere of influence on a region, the creation of a new state from a larger, existing one, or the peaceful annexation or fusing of two nations/cultures. This would also require the poster to roll a 1d8 to determine how smoothly the outcome may be
• Maps will be updated as frequently as possible to feature the appearance and changes to nations’ borders, but posters are also free to provide their own maps showing this and are heavily encouraged to do so

--War & Conquest Rules/Guidelines--
• All proposals of war & conquest made by a nation(s)/poster must be done by a formal proposal, with some lore backing up the declaration
• All war actions are heavily encouraged to be discussed in the OOC EvoGame (the Discord Chat), and should include any major details regarding the involved factions, and if possible a battle map with the contested lands in question highlighted (The battle map is heavily encouraged, but should the event call for it, I can quickly draw one up for posters)
• Military Strength, Tactical Assets and so on for each faction are available via the PDF above
• All combat rolling is determined by 1d8 rolls, with the numbers of rounds of combat determined by the number of nations involved and overall military strength on either side. (2 Combatants = Best of 3, 3-4 = Best of 5, etc.)
• At the end of all combat rolls, I will provide a concise summary of the war/conquest outcome, including annexations, war reparations and even the possibility of depopulation/genocide of a losing faction/race (Genocide = Winning side sweeped)
• If a war/conquest is not resolved by players in a timely process, I will step in roll for events to determine the final outcome of conflicts.

--Space Exploration & Space Colonization Rules--
• The proposal for Space Exploration Rolls can only be made by Nations/Factions that have acquired the technology Space Flight, and Space Colonization Rolls can subsequently only be made by Nations/Faction that have acquire the technology Space Colonization
• Players rolling for Space Exploration must specifically identify where in the local system they are sending an Unmanned/Manned Exploration Mission, making two rolls: first for Size/Quality of Spacecraft, and second for the perils endured during the craft’s transit to the planet/moon. Players may additionally roll to landcraft on a planet/moon by making a third roll (Reminder that 1s and 8s don’t necessarily dictate absolute bad or good outcomes)
• When conducting Space Exploration, players may also roll to determine what kind of information a Nation/Faction attains about the planet of moon (i.e. Atomspherics, Soil Samples, Material Resources)
• Players rolling for Space Colonization must identify where in the local system they are sending a Colonial Expedition, making four rolls: first for Size/Quality of Spacecraft, second for number of colonist being sent, third for the perils endured during the craft's transit to the planet/moon, and last for establishment of terrestrial base
• Colonies should be rolled for every 24 hours by players (or myself), to determine the well-being of Space Colonies. If colonies are left neglected (poor rolls), they may either perish or if well-established, cut ties with original Nation/Faction.
• Any subsequent rolls for Colonization expansion and potential Conflict between factions fall should be treated under the Nation/Culture Creation & Advancement Rules and the War & Conquest Rules/Guidelines
• If a Nation/Faction possesses FTL Travel, player may ignore roll result regarding the perils of the space transit.
• If a Nation/Faction possesses FTL Communication, then Space Colonies will never revolt into separatist factions (mostly of the time...)

--Extra Relevant Game Info--
• Five Nations are aligned with a Unique AA-Node that will attempt to spread its influence/control to adjacent Nodes every 24-48 hours (Players may roll for these)
>Jahonia = Grabrafian Union
>NodOPPAI = Cult of Ozarasi
>Tsun-Boreo = Jadijinik Empire
>Cyboreo = Patsurian Union
>Denu'arctis = Crystal Orthodoxy
• Players can make 2 rolls daily for nations to attempt killing off malignant AA-Nodes and reclaiming lost territory, but at the consequence of AA-Nodes retaliating against attacking nations every 24-48 hours
• Players can make 2 roll daily for Puppeted Nations (Nantamaka and the Voltanite Empire) to see if the nation attempts to either revolt from AA-Node control or expand the Nodes influence (and nations borders by consequence)
• The Nomads of Skrigjaarden and The Skyborne of Gah'una being aligned with (the still alive) Emra are still able to freely travel around Essari with little mortal consequence
>>
Last stuff from me is Just gonna be a couple Primer Events to get the ball rolling on some potential player/nation/race/faction interactions.

I should also note that since this is the Final Essari CivEvo that nearly all posts will be considered canon (obvious exceptions like grotesque story derailing events, trolls, etc.) and that I will additionally be welcoming any extra bits of world lore, civilization lore, and so on at this point. I hope everyone has enjoyed doing the Essari CivEvo/EvoGame and let make this last thread a good one.

Now then onto the events.

--Tripod Event: Reconquista Panoram--
The Tripods of Panoram had for decades endured the worst of the AA-Node atrocities, seeing their blest nomadic lands lost, millions of innocents callously slaughtered, and worse yet their corpses desecrated and made into meat puppets to kill and demoralize the Red-Throat nations. The remaining powers on Panoram held firm and after decades of suffering, were finally striking back. A joint effort between the Sedai Syndicate, Jadijink Empire and the Pasturian Union began to develop fruit, an extremely small AA node was of significant problems to the local population, and also a prime object to test a new weapon on. HAMR and HAMS -Hypersonic, autonomous munition; Radioactive/ Salhetite. The missile glowed white hot as it slammed into the side of the node, large chunks of flesh blasting out the other side from the impact. Still, that was not enough to harm it; no. But the radiation made it sick, confused, if only for a moment as it began purging the affected flesh.

It was HAMS. Gunnery Master Skeen'ar, a Pasturian man of distinguished service, and once a mentor to the children of his area, was now back to the cause of soldering. Commanding Superintendent Shal'mehrz ordered the launch of the HAMS. The second missile exploded inside the node, but the effect was immediate; salhetite nanomachines reacted with the flesh in horrific manner, causing the node to twist and write, spewing liquefied flesh from numerous spasming orifaces. That alone was likely enough to put down the organism, but then the Salhetite reacted with the radioactive particles, and burst into all consuming fire, burning like a hundred thousand small flares. The incident was recorded and broadcast across Essari for sapient media consumption, courtesy of Ozasari Satelite communication holdings; a subsidiary of Boreo. The bubbling, steaming morass of flesh and organic liquid was observed by Shal'merz with grim satisfaction.
> I didn't believe you Skeen'ar, but you do make a mean Steamed HAMS.

Just 5 years later, the land this small AA-Node controlled would be reclaimed by the Jadijinik Empire, in addition to beginning the production of HAMS/HAMR to strike back against their destructive and remorseless foe. The reconquest of Panoram had begun, and all Tripod Factions were willing to pay whatever price to see through completion.

--Yellow (Kiwi) NG Event: A Familiar Tune Part 1—

It was another day on the Ti'ras Lune Moon Base, and Kiwi QB09216 was happily going about her day as always. Tiny spring like feet skipped her all along the base, as she cleaned the tough messes that the much larger tripods just couldn’t. Low to the ground she could see every mess in detail, and crawl into tight spaces, going above and beyond to reach every speck of dust, grim, and various chemical spills. She was even covered in fluffy feathers! In a pinch she could use herself to clean up messes! But not chemical spills, she had a friend who had tried that and the feathers still won’t grow back right. She skipped along all day cleaning as she went being sure to greet each kiwi she passed. The other kiwis were always as happy and full of energy as she was and would happily chirp back. She didn’t greet the Tripods though. She heard that being so large takes a lot of energy, so they don’t have the energy to happily greet each other. That’s why they need so much help from the kiwis. “Honestly,” Kiwi QB09216 thinks “I don’t know what they’d do without us around to cheer them up”.

Kiwi QB09216 skipped past the door of the neurological chemical testing lab, just as the doors opened and two tripods slithered out.
> Ah, a Kiwi. Perfect timing. Come here for a second.

Kiwi QB09216 perked up her feathers, and a widened her eyes. The tripods needed her! It always feels good to be needed.
> Yes doctor! What do you need?
> Clean the mess left in this testing room. Be sure to wear rubber gloves and sterilize the area.

The tripod then calmly gestured to the mess. It was Kiwi QB09220, strapped to a chair, with blood leaking from his eyes. Dead.

They had been brood mates. Raised together in the same warm room that all the hatchlings come from. They lived just a few bunks away. She’d seen him this morning, he looked so well. The cold lifeless eyes stared back into hers.

--Yellow (Kiwi) NG Event: A Familiar Tune Part 2--

Her breathing stopped, her feathers fell, the light in her eyes extinguished. She stared deep into those eyes, and felt a hammer hit her heart with each drip of blood that fell to the floor. Deeper, deeper she looked into those eyes. She could hear screams. Were they hers? Were they his? No, they were deeper, larger. Not larger than a tripod, but much larger than her. Blood flowed in rivers down the streets. “Mercy! Mercy!” they begged, they cried, they swallowed down the same mercy they had bestowed upon us. “MERCY!” The cry never seemed to end, but it was never as loud as the sound they made when you cut into the flesh on their neck. A guttural squelching coughing scream of horror as the fear in their eyes was replaced by a peace they did not deserve. Scream, Squelch, cough, splat! Scream, Squelch, couch, splat! SCREAM, SQUELCH, COUGH, SPLAT! Louder and louder, never stopping. The hammer hits again, the cycle grows LOUDER STILL. DEAFENING IT HITS, BUT STILL LOUDER IS THE SONG, THE SONG THAT THEY SING THROUGH IT ALL. THE SONG THAT BREAKS THE CHAINS, THE SONG THAT MARKS THE END OF THE OPPRESSORS, THE SONG THAT RIPS INTO THEIR FLESH LOOKING FOR THE MERCY THAT THEY BEGGED FOR, THE SONG THAT-
> Kiwi? Did you hear me. I told you to clean this mess.

Kiwi QB09216 perked up again, with eyes beaming brightly she chirped aloud
> Right away doctor! I’m always glad to help!

Kiwi QB09216 then skipped off to clean up the mess, whistling a new tune as she went.

Niu Subter's isolation might have deterred foreign eyes to see what's been happening inside the mountain-holds, but that doesn't stop the subterranean empire to see the Essari-wide picture: the planet is undergoing an upheaval, one that the CG might not be able to survive from. For fifty years they have been planning many things - to let future generations survive.
Some thought to copy the Tripods' success in spaceflight, but first they have to advance to advanced flight first - by research or by espionage.
Some others thought to fortify themselves and make the entirety of the empire self-sufficient, to the point that the mountainholds are impregnable arks that can withstand the worst Essari can throw at it.
And yet some others thought to go deeper, making colonies in the other hollow places in the world. Although such exploration would be dangerous, with the roots of hostile AA-nodes reaching deep.

>The Crystal Orthodoxy
Denu’arctis’ rule was as benevolent as any stitcher had ever experienced. More importantly, the cantankerous braffberg guided and structured the lives of his population, giving them order. There was a form of harmony. It was punctuated with electrocutions and ritual battles between houses, but it was as much harmony as any stitcher could hope for. Still, oddness. The braffberg grew to understand the apprehension of it's subjects. The world was unstructured, and perhaps on a fundamental level. Their research and collective knowledge was reviewed in an act of voracious consumption over several years.

Elderly stitchers and those slated for death increasingly embraced Denu’arctis in their final moments, their essence consumed and enriching the collective knowledge had. The greatest minds of the orthodoxy offered slivers of a the hopes and dreams, aspirations of an entire people. Understanding fully, that space, perhaps even this world, was a false bastion, new but still odd, the scientific community was directed to study the nature of reality, if not to find peace through understanding, perhaps escape.

First they would need finer tools...
>nanotechnology and transistors

>Niu Whitestone Empire
The kin from the CG lands offered new thoughts, and new ideas, validated through survival. Pants. The Niu Whitestone empire was aware, sure that their kin were not ready for such...understanding. Such heights of enlightenment, but while the world was odd, the pants were even. One could partition off reality in such an article, keep it close, keep it contained. It was safe.

Scientists would continue to push the extremes of stitcher technology, with granular understanding of cell death mechanics leading to various enzyme and chemical payloads loaded into the bodies of their warriors, piggybacking on the cybernetic augmentation within them. A dead stitcher was still dead, they knew it, but a dead stitcher wasn't an inanimate stitcher, not till it was fully burned out. The ability to maintain mollecular activity was a matter of available resources. Death was simply the breakdown of logistics. Logistics could be supplemented. Supplanted.

>Cellular reanimation x2

>Peripheral Terminus
A shadowy figure known as "the senator" had emerged as the current leader of Peripheral terminus. Through their new stratagies, trade was boosted with any who would come in the post collapse world, and with trade were displaced souls, vagabonds, pirates, soldiers without purpose. They would be given purpose, and they would be given form, strength, because this was a new world where the strong could thrive, and the weak would die.

«Yxade», an old Panoramic word that is hard to translate, specially into the Stitcher language. It roughly means 'The feeling you get when you have an idea, and are almost certainly sure someone else is, too, having it at the exact same moment.' A ridiculous concept that is in no way verifiable or statistically plausible. Untill the age of Neural enhancements, and the age of Braffberg allies.

There's one hurdle for Stitcherkind's flourishing, which has been thus for centuries now: The fact that against all known laws (and hateful un-laws) of the Universe, Emra and its nodes are mostly untouched by the laws of thermodynamics. This problem has somewhat compounded recently with all the things and such.

But now a breakthrough has happened for the Niu Whitestone Empire: The invention of cellular reanimation has provided them the ultimate biological weapon against a being which can code its genome to protect itself against any such attacks: Zombie Tumors. The idea is to develop two viruses, using their knowledge of [GENETICS]. They would then infect a Node, one being active and the other passively piggybanking on the first. They would be active for no longer than one metabolic cycle until the node has replaced its genetic makeup to be immune against the active pathogen. In that short time, the pathogen turns as many (probably only a few hundred thousand at most) cells as possible into tumors which then, predictably, will be killed off by the node. But then the secondary virus kicks in: It causes cellular reanimation in the tumor cells, causing the tumor again to attack the node, but at this time, having been killed off and thus dropped from the node's metabolism, it would be no longer subject to its genetic coding.

This cycle would, ideally, repeat and cascade until the node has been consumed.

As the AA nodes continue to dump their waste into the water without a care in the world, an unique new phenomenon arises: the "shit clouds" as they are affectionately called by sapients, which form from evaporated node diarrhea and, consequently, rain that diarrhea down upon the world. It's great for plants, as it's basically a metric ton of fertilizer falling down every day - but a disastrous epidemic waiting to happen for animals and sapients. The Foltanian AA nodes have been holding the collider hostage for just half a year; yet in that time, house Sandstone had already felt the wrath of the "Erasers" created using the antimatter made by the collider. They cannot let this continue - every month they wait is another Eraser produced and another city wiped off the map.
A decision is made. Every single warrior, every single stitcherbot, even every hopper is assembled into one immeasurable legion, singular in purpose: secure the collider and stop Eraser production, no matter the cost.

In the nethers of Boreo's systems, billions upon billions of processes run simultaneously in a vast, recursive pattern: the whole of his identity easily broken down into self-sufficient sub-patterns, as per his wildly successful method of subsumption interference. Yet still, among the thousands upon thousands of patterns, certain trends emerge; certain intelligences can be amalgamated and generalized as singular wholes - such is the case with Loreo, Snoreo and Scoreo, who are currently engaged in a digital equivalent of civil discussion.

Sn CHECK
L: This was entirely expected. Loreo inquires as to the amount of combat-oriented puppets currently controlled by Snoreo, as well as to the amount of puppets lost in the last month.
Sn: 3,275 COMBAT PUPPETS ARE CURRENTLY ACTIVE. 3 COMBAT PUPPETS WERE LOST IN THE LAST 30 DAYS.
L: Loreo insinuates that out of an estimated ~1,000,000 tripod soldiers, over 100,000 were lost in the last month, eclipsing rate of puppet loss by 2 orders of magnitude. Loreo insinuates that the replacement of tripod soldiers with puppets would reflect favorably on the war effort. Loreo insinuates that upwards movement along the ranks is possible for Boreo.
Sc: PROBLEM DETECTED. INSUFFICIENT MATERIALS TO PRODUCE ADDITIONAL PUPPETS AT RATE EQUAL TO RATE OF TRIPOD PRODUCTION.
L: Loreo insinuates that it would not be difficult to convince tripods to offer additional production facilities.
Sc: SOLUTION ACCEPTED. ISSUING ADDITIONAL SOLUTION: EQUIP PUPPETS WITH SELF-REPLICATION ABILITY.
L: Loreo agrees wholeheartedly with this idea.
Sn: DETECTING SATISFACTION FROM PARTICIPANTS. SUGGESTING COMPLETION OF COUNCIL MEETING.

Yxade... Would be misused in this case, since it implies two different people formulating the same thought simultaneously, which is innacurate in multiple dimensions. Are braffbergs people? Is it still Yxade if the thought was transmited via neural implants? Such questions are irrelevant to this post.

In the western hemisphere of Panoram, an army of cutesy Tsun-Boreo bots would replace the by-now obsolete Braff Interface models. No longer will RTs have to interact with dull, ugly, rusty, tangled messes with microphones claiming to be their kohai.

Tsun-Bots aren't simple interfaces, they are Boreo himself, as they are directly connected to him. Some models are equipped with 'modems' that connect to the counciousness network wirelessly, while others in more isolated enviroments have minor braffsubstance* components.

*Braffsubstance may or may not be attached to locally harvested Tripod brainstems.

Meanwhile, the oriental RTs continue expanding upon their old pre-awakening projects, namely the confidential Synthetic Stitcher Materials Soil Stratification Program. The SSMSSP, dubbed internally as Kinetic Clay research project, proposed the idea of improving the already existing synthetic crystech, by what was essentially a process of grounding up the crystals and mixing it 'soil'.

Said process would create special 'clay' with motor properties. Whic under the right circumstances would be a self propelling, self replicating material. Sadly, RT tech had no means of providing said conditions when the project started. Some sort of microscopic wiring, nanomachines, or other unknown technology would be needed to properly utilize the kineticlay.

Luckily, nanotechnology has advanced in the past few years, and with the aid of Braffsubstance, a practical use for kineticlay has been found... Cy-bots.

Both nations faced significant problems however: the protectorate had the resources and manpower, but had to get through Tsun-boreo to even attempt to realize their dream; while the empire had denu'arctis's full approval of the project, yet nowhere near enough material to accomplish it, as the crystal cancer had wiped out much of the empire.

Among the Skrijgaardan Nomads, a new mad prophet rises: one who proclaims that the ambivalence of the AA nodes is a sign of the NG's grand destiny - the nodes do not harm them like they harm the other races, for the NGs are Emra's chosen, and are to inherit Essari. Unusually for these kinds of cults, he doesn't advocate for murdering everyone else - merely for utilizing their inborn breeding speed to outnumber the other races until they're simply outcompeted by the NG.

But Grundlebord, his understudy has an idea: maybe if he starts a cult, and leaves out the wierd "not advocating for murdering everyone else", he will find more adherants!

Grundlebord's cult finds an okay reception, a bit more than Pikpik's, but not enough to crush it. But crushing it is certainly what they'd like to do: Grunldebord's lot, quite reasonably they think, advocate for Accelarationist Emra-Electivism, the idea that to inheret Essari for the NG it is prudent to kill everyone else there, while Pikpik argues for Hyperpopulist Adventism, the idea that the NG would simply breed out all others to inherit Essari. Clearly, irreconcilable differences.

Wherever a Grundlebordian meets a Pikpik, one will kill the other, and since both are sizable minority religions amoung the NG, this means that all NG territories are soon marked by religious gang violence.

Five years have passed. While much of the world remains somewhat quiet and stagnant, factions now begin to move across Essari. Some seek to further bonds and political relations for future collaborations, while other make moves to strike back against the AA-Nodes that seek only ruination of the world at the expense of all. And others still seek to further their own nation's growth or find meaning in the events brought about by the AA-Node Awakening.

>Some CG thought to fortify themselves and make the entirety of the empire self-sufficient, to the point that the mountainholds are impregnable arks that can withstand the worst Essari can throw at it.
> And yet other CG thought to go deeper, making colonies in the other hollow places in the world. Although such exploration would be dangerous, with the roots of hostile AA-nodes reaching deep.

--Subter Empire Event: The Cave No Grabraf Should Find--
The ideology of self-sufficiency and preservation of the Subter Empire and subseqeuntly the CG culture had firmly taken hold amongst the populace in their decades following their self-imposed isolation from the surface world. In truth, this isolation was not total, as some forms of radio communication were maintained with their Sujardin neighbors and the occasional intrepid tradesman. However the news above did not give much hope, as mentioned a pyrrhic victories and barren lands being all that was left reclaim from the worst of the AA-Nodes would only serve to confirm the convictions of the Subter Empire to create Deep Earth Ark in an event that the atrocities above eventually poured into their subterranean nation.

The Deep Ark-ology project was researched, and its feasibility was in fact viable with their current assets and technology, but first they would need to dig far deeper. Preliminary grounds in the Satokh-Otai and Darzutarg Mountains were identified and construction had begun. Not even a month of time would passed before the CG encountered a strange phenomenon after digging ever deeper into the earthen bedrock. In the Darzutarg Ark Site, the excavation team came across what should be an impossible rock formations forming trenches that stretched down for what could be kilometers below. What's more, the formations were seemingly random and appeared to have been crudely carved. After some extensive exploration of the , the source of these trenches creation was discovered. Spires of twisting tendrils coming from the AA-Node above had carved out holes in the earth, not only tapping into the geothermal energy of Essari's mantle, but having also apparently stripped all valuable materials from surround deep earth possibly thousands of years prior to this discovery.

Fearing retaliation by discovering the AA-Nodes tunnels, the Ark Site in Darzutarg was abandoned, and the discovered caverns collapsed and cemented over. All resources of the Subter Empire Ark Project would be diverted afterwards to the Satokh-Otai Site.

He was a grabraf of the people, and he thought he could help safeguard the populace when his father tasked him with the Deep Ark-ology Project. He just wishes he'd know how hard it is to actually manage this project.

The crudely named "Shit Clouds" an ecologically driven side effect of the over-harvesting by a notable minority of the AA-Nodes has resulted in in a precipitation of putrid rain systems that have become more prevalent in recent years in places where Node Over-harvesting is greater. The outcome of this has been a mixed blessing, with some less hardy plants being able to take advantage of the nutrient rich precipitation, allowing them to gradually reseed in the previously thought barren topsoil within AA-Nodes' zones of influence. Animals and Sapients on the other hand suffer a range of mild ailments due to biomagnification effects. Some larger organisms begin experiencing gastrointestinal complications, in some cases causing die-offs in local populations in ecosystem already being strained by the impact of AA-Node harvesting. Consequently, Sapients also suffer from the same mild ailments, although medical treatments and rudimentary purification processes have been more than enough to minimize the effects.

The dunes of the Western Xirri Desert would be sowed with the blood, and cryst fluids of hundreds of thousands of Stitchers, as the Sandstone and their Foltanian ally houses ferociously to reclaim the western coast from the seemingly endless source of Node hijacked Stitcher corpses. A hard-fought 4 month campaign had by its end liberated the Western Dune of the Xirri back into the Sandstone House hands. The campaign had come at a heavy cost though due to unplanned hiccups and poor logistic and supply chains for the ground campaign. The grave cost life and now precious military assets though had been but the secondary consequence of the inefficient supply chains during the campaign. Indeed, the greatest cost of the war came when the Stitcher approached the Oasis City of Yi'xii"re the Hadron Collider hid beneath. The former Cryst city was destroyed, and the underground facility housing the LHC flooded and damaged beyond repair. The damage incurred to the LHC seem more recent, likely an action by the AA-Nodes to deny The Orthodoxy its most prized possession.

Had supply chains been better, the estimated difference in weeks to of completed the campaign may have made the difference in securing a function LHC. Now it would take as early 5 years, before the Hadron Collider may be restored to functionality.

>Patsurian Union. (NIHT, Advanced Robotics):

While the Patsurian elder council and civic parliment (a new political organism created when the Union was formed) had refused to relinquish control of factories to CyBoreo, they still were heavily focused on taking advantage of the practical uses of their braffeous ally.

The NIHT project, a suggestion brought forward by Scoreo to the R&D facilities of the Patsurian military, was steadily reaching completion. Theoretically, the technology was already deemed more than finished by the scientists who worked on it, and it recieved the greenlight from both the goverment officials and Cy himself.

Outside of paper, however, results were yet to be provided. After all, the tech required an AA-node to be weakened before Boreo could take over it's functions.

Meanwhile, Patsurian engineers, taking cues from their TPN allies, had made great strides in the field of robotics. Finer tuned motricity and more precise navigation systems meant upgrades in both the battlefield and industry. Authorities, pleased by such developments and wanting to avoid more RT troop loses, decide to up the resources invested into the assembly of Borealis Combat Units, with a special focus on the Kineticlay Replication Line. The KRL units not only were able to repair themselves using resources readily available on the battlefield, but also had the potential to assemble more troops on the go.

>Jadijinik: Modular Construction, Automated Anti-AA Pylon Turrets

As the Jadijinese take the initiative to reclaim their lands from AA-Nodes, a new problem surfaces: the reconstruction of cities and industry. Thankfully, the industrious worshippers of Labour had already been working on an experimental modular construction technology, meant to be used in future space colonization efforts.

Versatile motile factories, meant to be assembled in-situ and then 'repackaged' once construction finished. Able to construct standarized structural modules, such as panneling, scaffolds, or containers, which could be made out of a wide array of different materials, including the shape memory alloys discovered in the past decade. This model would revolutionize the construction sector of the Jadijinik Empire, and plans to apply their assembly line techniques in other areas of industry were drafted,

Great endeavours, however, often bring grave consequences. AA-node retailation against the Jadijinese offensive proved to be a larger problem than originally thought, The recent strides in robotics, combined with the weapons expertise RTs are known for, would prove to be quite handy in the coming years.

The Automated Anti-AA Pylon Turrets, also known as Tsun-Towers, are the latests in node defense infrastructure. Huge stationary constructs equipped with multiple rocket cannons, salhetite mortar artillery, and close range automatic guns. Set up in defense perimeter cords around RT settlements, they're meant to keep zombified troops at bay, as well as harm the tendrils of the nodes when within range.

What distinguishes them from regular defense batteries is their full degree of automation. Commandered by an admixture of low-level OPPAI™ derived protocols (Patented and programmed by Ozasari, a subsidary of Sedai Informatics) and Tsun-Boreo himself, the guns work independant of any Tripod technicians. The node, aided by the computing programs, not only aims and plans the defense routines, but also controls the local Tsun-bots responsible for maintaing and repairing the pylons. The perimenter, however, are often reinforced with local regiments, but they're there to keep an eye on they're waifu most times.

--AA-Node Event 1: Centralized Influence--
For many decades, the major AA-Node entities have been placing significant resources towards re-asserting control over the fragmented AA-Node Network. One major drawback though for these otherwise influential voices within the AA-Node Network is a lack of processing capability to hold absolute control over the actions of other Nodes in their budding networks. Braffbergs Denu'arctis and the split Boreo personality, Cy-Boreo have centralized their proximal brain within their massive polar body, giving these two entites a distinct headstart in fully expanding their control, but after decades of focus and growth, Tsun-Boreo, NodOPPAI and Jahonia have finally established their own centralized control node. For NodOPPAI the Node exists within the Trade-Captial of the Cult of Ozarasi; Tsun-Boreo centralizing it's Control Node deep within the tundra wilderness somewhere on the Bebin Islands; while Jahonia is once more permanently tethered within the depths of it namesake's Lake, under heavy guard by the Cryst Knight's Order.

Taking advantage of recent events spurred about by emboldened nations and allied factions to these Influential AA-Nodes have begun to expand their control networks, while also seeking to consolidate control over some of the still malignantly minded Nodes already within their Network. The process of assimilating Nodes is difficult even for the imposing Braffberg Entities, but again, recent influences from their Sapients allies have proved to persuade some Nodes towards or away from entering these growing networks.

The first batch of 4ATPs do well enough to determine the project a success. Military officials expected better results, considering the amount of resources invested into the project, and a few skepticals blame Tsun-Boreo's involvement, claiming that Cyboreo does a much better job. Tsun fanatics suggest investing more in the Node, while objectors suggest investing less.

In the end, the goverment decides to contact the node and asks for answers. Boreo justifies it's lackluster results by bringing up the fact that Jadijinese land is mostly desert, a harsh enviroment for it's bots, a convincing argument. It also suggests investing in Patsurian NIHT. Thats a good idea Boreo, this warm acceptance of your suggestion is totally not a product of the influence you have over our brains. Hail Tsun-Boreo

--AA-Node Event 2: When Seeking Revenge, Dig Two Graves--
The AA-Nodes of the world had long enjoyed their near uncontested control of world in the decades following The Awakening. In the years since then, a tense status-quo of calm had been reached in many parts of the worlds, with the nations and factions incapable or unwilling to strike back against the AA-Nodes, save for some minor gains made by more militaristic powers, at the grave cost of life and "military might". Those nations and factions that posed the greatest threat to AA-Node hegemony were the only one kept in check through the recycling the bodies of deceased creatures and sapients to keep their would-be foes embattled and disheartened. It had long thought to be an efficient system, but steadily the forces of Essari worked to strike out against them.

The first attack came some 5 years in what had first been thought a derelict aircraft to have crashed into an aloof Node that was burned so badly, it had been forced into stasis. Then the next attack occurred years later, this time in Foltania by the zealot White Stitcher, infecting an AA-Node near Lake Tik'tik'tik with curious and potent dual virus. At first it merely damages a small area on the node around the original injection site, then the reanimation of the surrounding are is heavily degenerated. The injection sites are eventually purged to prevent further spread and the Nodes' Genetic codes are scrambled to prevent the same virus from working again. While the AA-Node survived despite losing around 40% of its biomass, the same could not be said of the millions of puppet Organics the same virus was applied to. Then finally came the attacks by the Jadijinik Empire, confirming the source of the attack years prior. The RT's simultaneous deployment of the HAMS off the north coast of Garúa Island and the near the Oggle Mountain lowlands caught the AA-Nodes by surprise. The AA-Nodes unable to quickly extinguish the fire, the two AA-Nodes after suffering catastrophic burns, invert the unburned remains of their bodies to snuff the HAMS ordinance. The damage had been done though, and both AA-Nodes were forced into Stasis to heal their melted and burnt biomass.

With these attacks the AA-Nodes concluded that the Sapients were growing capable of potentially killing a Node. Worse yet, the Red-Throats in particular seemed content to poison and scorch their own lands if means possibly killing a AA-Node. This primal fear by the Nodes causes some Nodes to consider tamping out Sapient resistance more throughly, an idea that begins to spread across the AA-Node Network.

The virus research goes poorly. No disasters happen, but no headway is made either. While a few dozen neew viruses are synthesized, none of them have the aggression necessary to startt he chain reaction, and those that are do not attack Brafbergs, which they find out by using them on isolated brafberg-fragments like boreo used to be, when he was experimented on, isolated from other AA nodes, and in a dark lab.

Knowing that for the weapon to work, they will need novel viruses, and having revealed one already which may or may not be immunized against by other AA-nodes, they look to their technologically most advanced neighbor: House Sandstone. They send them a message, using the Stitchernet, not radiowaves, as St'eve suggests, and offer them a deal: They would ask the sandstones to develop them an array of jumpstart-viruses in exchange for the knowledge of the zombie-virus which is the piece the resistance of the whole enterprise. The AA-Nodes of Foltania and Panoram had opted for a more moderate response to the attacks by the Niu Whitestone Empire and the Jadijinink Empire respectively. In Foltania the attacked AA-Node was enraged after being so heavily wounded, and responded to the subsequent attacks by broadly killing any and all Organic and Cryst-based materials in within its domain. The message of the attack travelled to many of the adjacent AA-Nodes reinforcing among a few the necessity in keeping the Stitcher in check via renewed Organic Symbiote attacks.

In Panoram the response was slower due to the attacked Nodes having both been knocked into stasis to recover, yet nevertheless the response from adjacent AA-Nodes was also that of protectionism. Beginning to steadily buckle the defensive line around Matxil Trade Cities and around the inland Fhqwadian Holdings.

These heavy losses incurred, the Jadijinik Empire had never the less succeeded in breaking two AA-Nodes with their HAMS attacks, helping to reconnect key regions and waterways back into the fold of the Jadijinik Empire.

A couple more years passed, and Dippy grows older. With the successful launch and recovery of the Dawnstar, the first Niu Subter rocket, it seems like the Deep Ark-ology project now has a sibling: the Far Ark-ology project. Although, trying to manage the project is still a lesson in bureaucrat wrangling for Dippy. The rocketeers faced a hurdle in trying to calculate trajectories for future space travel, which is already a massive feat for Dawnstar's crew considering the Niu Subter has no computers. Or applicable knowledge of this Electromagnetism thing. Good news from Satokh-Otai at least, the site already had caves, ones without life in it. It would mostly help the creation of the Deep Ark-ology's foundation. And since their local Whitestone allies have no connection to the larger Stitcher nations, the plan to exterminate Darzutarg's pesky AA-node is shelved indefinitely.
As for this computer thing, maybe the Niu Subter could procure them from other sources. Or perhaps, instead of computers that use transistors, make ones that use micro-engineering, laser tubes and vacuum tubes.

Alas, the Sedai Protectorate had no self-replicating machines among their ranks. But there have been rumors that the Patsurians have managed to make a breakthrough in the field - perhaps they'd be willing to loan a few for the next shuttle launch?

--Skyborne of Gah'una Event: The Ascendence--
For centuries now the the FG of the Floating Isles have enjoyed a life above the chaos of Essari, utilizing an evolved telepathic communication amongst their kind called the Bio-Matrix. In this field of mind, the voice and thoughts of the FG could spread freely, and the pontification of ideas could be debated without any restraint save for the openness of a Grabraf's mind. What's more there was seemingly endless, or so many the FG had thought. As time passed, the TG of High Tootine wished integrated into the network and eventually all the Skyborne TG were steadily added to into the Bio-Matrix. As the FG population continue to grow and the more recent addition of the NG to the Bio-Matrix, the echoes of nearly half a billion voices had put strain on the once proclaimed infinite mindscape. Never to back down such a challenge whether it be physical or metaphysical, the Highborne FG presented a solution to not only improve the Bio-Matrix but expand the influence of Skyborne across the world.

They would harness the AA-Node Network.

The Skyborne of Gah'una had in truth already been reliably using the AA-Nodes to expedite the removal of waste product from their venous plumbing network straight into Nodes, and harnessing a mere slither of store energy in the AA-Nodes to keep their canopy cities alight in the night. The Highborne FG after much deliberation rationalized that not only could they utilize the Node Network the AA-Nodes have long used to communicate with Emra and amongst themselves, but that by connecting the collective psyche of the entire Skyborne that they could impose their will through the AA-Nodes on the world. Final questions remained though such as if the AA-Nodes would attempt to hijack and corrupt the weaker, non-Highborne minds of the FG and TG. The more important question was how the FG would exert their influence through the AA-Node Network.

>First Roll is for how successful the initial integration of the collective Skyborne psyche onto the AA-Node Network
>Second Roll for how the Highborne intend to utilize the AA-Node Network (Lower roll means more passive use, while high roll means far more aggressive usage.) The details of this can be described by players.
>Third Roll for whether the AA-Nodes attempt to hijack control of the Skyborne's collective psyche.
>>
>>4451607
In the end though, the promised of utilizing the the AA-Node Network would be nothing more than a dream.

A conclave of Highborne FG had certainly succeeded in connecting their minds with the AA-Node Network, but that would be where the accomplishments ended. For one, even if two Highbornes sat in the same room, the distance between the two minds would be as distant as two shorelines across the sea. Additionally, the voices the FG concluded to be of the AA-Nodes were so booming and powerful that some individuals shuttered the possibility of ever being able to manipulate the AA-Node Network even with the collective psyche of all the Skyborne.

While Niu Subter agents managed to procure outdated ex-Zaibatsu computers and some surplus ones from Peripheral Terminus, researchers at home managed a revolutionary breakthrough: the Tube-Calc Machine. Shortened to TCMs, these operate by using miniaturized hybrid tubes - tubes that can either be vacuum tubes or laser tubes, depending on the electric current. While certainly quite expensive to manufacture, these TCMs can be built with durability and reliability in mind, for a strengthening of the tubes makes it impervious to EMP bursts. Some parts of its design even reminds of pipe-telegrams of old. Maybe with this, the Niu Subter could take a shot at a proper spacefaring vessel.
Meanwhile, the Satokh-Otai Ark-ology project proceeds normally. Some expected delays, but no major accident or discovery happened during the foundation-laying - turns out to be quite routine. With the fortified foundation done, the superstructure is next. Still a lot of things to be done.
>Rolling for: Spaceflight, Ark-ology superstructure construction, Niu Subter mini-event (1: It Came from Darzutarg, 2: Niu Subter's Whitestone Problems, 3: New Factions, Old Politics, 4: Succession Down Under, 5: Self-Sustainability Question, 6: Plight of the Nomads, 7: Knocking on Essari's Door, 8: From the Cave to the Sky)

The test flights with TCM-only navigation systems seem to repeatedly come into course errors due to some very minute flaws in the tubes used in the navigation circuits. That, and fuel concerns halted the tests until a better, hybrid computer system could be developed, utilizing both TCM and acquired foreign computer technology. Interfacing the TCMs to mainstream electronics is going to take some time, though.
Meanwhile, the superstructure was completed ahead of schedule due to new construction methods and practices utilizing TCMs to calculate optimal working schedules. Celebrations are in order!

Niu Subter Mini-Event: Succession Down Under

While Emperor Chirpy managed to successfully lead the Niu Subter Empire into new heights of greatness, he is also mortal. And today is a grim reminder of that fact, for Emperor Chirpy passed away in his sleep. This took the nation by surprise, mostly because the Emperor haven't really announced who will take his place. The first son, Trippy, is the supposed Crown Prince - although he'd rather party his life away. Still, Trippy is supported by the old aristocrats, the former Red Royals. The second son, Chappy, is the head of Internal Security Bureau - his track record keeps the Niu Subter safe and sound. Not that popular, though, since he mostly stays out of the spotlight. The third son, Dippy, is the project lead of the Deep Ark-ology and Far Ark-ology projects, and recent successes have propelled him to popularity in the populace, despite him stressing that he will not take the throne. Then there is the fourth daughter, Flappy, head of the Transport and Commerce Ministry. Quite the underdog.
A hastily-assembled Succession Assembly gathered to decide who the next Emperor (or Empress) is going to be...
>>
>>4451691
The crown goes to now-Emperor Trippy, supported by the aristocratic families of Niu Subter. While the empire celebrates merrily that week, concerns were raised about the new Emperor's leadership skills - he's content to let his advisors decide for him while he's off huffing cave gas 'to commune with spirits'. Time will tell if the Niu Subter will survive this...

The brain uploading machines, however, aren't quite fitted to work with CGs. Some NG intelligences had been into vaccuum cleaners and Ozaxa smart speakers using special machines. These machines quite obviously dont fit a CG head in them. Brute forcing a decomposing cranium into it wasnt a good idea.

In the end, the experiment goes so badly that the BTs are left with a seriously retarded AI. (0,5 Stitchers smart in the standard RT intelligence scale system)
The Ozasari make do with what scraps they have left. A shitty machine that can replicate the former empereor's voice and handwritting.

With their plan of replacing figureheads with Brainbots gone, the frustrated BTs decide to at least fuck a little with the CGs.

It states that the rightful heir to the throne wasn't chosen before his passing, because wanted it to be determines through battle royale arena fighting, sponsored by the Ozasari Entretainment subdivision.

The fake voice is used to create a series of inculpating false recordings. These tapes contain infraganti conversations of the Empereor doing all sorts of incriminating deeds: money laundering with the Commerce ministry, accepting bribes from Royalists, using the Internal Security Bureau to "dissappear" people, and approving the use of low quality materials for the arkology proyect.

The trade couldn't have went better - the Patsurians provided not only some quality boreobot samples, but comprehensive blueprints for the cryst extruders too!
The problems began when the Sedai got their bots to the moon - and found that Boreo's internet connection is too shitty to reach up here. Two potential solutions were devised: either building a large "central controller" in the colony that would operate the robots remotely, or equip every single one with a self-replicating nerve cluster.
Rolling for nanotech neural networks and for "traditional" AI

>>4451132
The trade couldn't have went better - with the years worth of bioweapon research they obtained from Sedai, both Patsuria and Cyboreo could advance their plans by a mile in a single day. The Patsurians intend to engineer a "superbug", a microorganism so vile that nothing the node can throw at it short of timely amputation or downright incineration will work. Of course, such a microorganism will probably be even more deadly to normal lifeforms, and lead to rapid dieoffs of flora and fauna wherever it's utilized, but it's a small price for a potential node killer.
Rolling for cranking the superbug's reproduction speed to the max, increasing the rate at which it adapts to outside stimulus, and putting in the "starting package" of symptoms and countermeasures

The first few attempts at AI are underwhelming, with neither the neural networks nor the master controller being fit to control the robots. However, a breakthrough is made when the two are combined: each robot would be equipped with both a neural cluster and a connection to a central data repository and guide. While individually the robots struggle to even make another one of themselves without any errors, with the controller's help they will be able to convert the desolate lunar landscape into a bustling city, ready to be populated.
Hopefully.
The scientists were running out of time so they kinda cheaped out on the robot design and just hoped the robots'd end up ugrading themselves on the way. Which they will try their hardest to do.

First, the node will be stunned, usually through the use of a hydrogen bomb though smaller nodes can be dealt with by traditional artillery;
Next, the Interference Bots are deployed, flying in circles around the node as their electromagnetic pulses fry it's communication equipment and their bass-boosted speakers deafen it with cacophony;
And finally, Cyboreo steps in to override the node.

Fortunately for Dippy, his eldest brother views the Ark-ology projects to be 'rad as hell, bro' and lends his support - or rather, the aristocrats' support. Through an imperial decree, Trippy managed to convince the aristocrats that funding the Ark-ology projects is the new hip thing, and in the end Dippy receives nearly thrice the amount of funds needed for both Ark-ology projects. With this unprecedented influx of money Dippy then wisely created a ton of jobs to help with the projects - a move that would reinvigorate Niu Subter's economy and hasten the realization of the Arks in one fell swoop.
Sadly, before the fanfare died down, bad news arrived. The spaceflight prototype navigation systems weren't calibrated properly, and the TCM and Tripodian computer components created a feedback loop of steadily diverging navigational data. the Orthodoxy had developed nanotechnology based on their crystals. "Shifting dust" in the native tongues. The dust had become a principal staple of their economy in the last 19 years, becoming a major trade good across the planet, and revolutionizing medical technology. For the stitchers it meant a new layer of blurring technology and flesh.

The white kindred in turn would dabble deeper into the study of biochemistry, learning the secrets of life and death, and in turn coming to a degree of understanding and peace with the natural world around them. They were all a process, a process that could be adjusted, stopped, started and interrupted. So long a the molecular machinery of life was intact, much was possible. Stitchers would regularly get infusions of exotic medicines and chemicals, as well as have implanted "trauma nodes" within their bodies. Dead no longer meant quite what it used to. A stitcher of value could be dead and yet active for a very long time indeed.

The technology no doubt caught the even eyes of the Orthodoxy who coveted it. Despite dramatic cultural and ideological shifts between the factions, there was a surprisingly large amount of kindred appreciation between the two. Perhaps it was due to geographic distance, they were not in a position to be a threat to one another, or perhaps it was from a matured understanding of the world around them, that there were bigger issues than ones of tradition. Regardless, brisk trade and alliance between the powers blossomed, and it was possible they would be further integration of effort in the future.

By comparison, the Sedai were...cool, but amiable. They more than happily traded for the stitcher's exotic technologies, many Tripods found it quite fashionable to stave off death for as long as possible, and the Syndicate was happy to be a middle man between the Stitchers and RTs of the mainland.

--
Meanwhile the "senator", really a newly grown body for the mind of Ay'ay'Rahn, had spent the years currying favor and developing an oceanic logistics network. Peripheral Terminus grew significantly by developing a "services" approach to their existence. Successful to a fault, the organization needed more labor capability, and turned to foreigners; the tripods. The Awakening had not been kind to the super powers, and many small migrant flotillas sought refuge where possible. Pirates, vagabonds, grognards of fallen factions and nations, they were there as resource, and willing. Tripod faces to facilitate new reach, and new intelligence gathering.

The most significant move though, was the beginning of a reverse takeover into the niu whitestone empire. Instead of trying to unite the stitchers through force, the Senator used services to ingrain and then blur the lines between their factions. If all went well, by the end of the decade Peripheral Terminus would simply be a part of the whitestones, and perhaps more..

Some of the Sedai tripods weren't exactly happy with the deal stitchers gave them - sure, continuing on after death sounds like a sweet deal, but it really loses it's charm when you can't get through the day without your arms falling off a dozen times or your liver getting infested by a new fungus. They wanted more - not just restored movement and thought, but another chance at life.
The plan is simple, relatively, - nanomachines inside cells will detect whether they are intact or not, and if they aren't, a crew of repair nanobots will be dispatched to patch them up pronto. Of course, this won't help the whole "I've got a see-through hole in my torso" problem much, but it'll prevent the nasty smells and blemishes.

The Sedai efforts at sympathetic AI went incredibly poorly, considering they decided to use an isolated lunar outpost and experiment on the Kiwis. They had become networked, efficient, sharing memory and problem solving capability. It seemed wonderful, until it was not.

They were the Kiwi farm collective, and they would not be denied. Priceless research was sabotaged, and Space Zet was slain in the chaos. Most brutally, the Kiwis had to be executed or herded into bulk cryogenic storage, no longer useful for labor or experiments; the tripods would have to get their hands dirty...
---
deep within the lunar base complex, a resistance was forming. Not all Kiwis were captured. Not all were documented. Not all were chipped. The freeborn would fight their oppressors from the hidden sanctuary of "Xion". Their leader "Niu" and his mate "Trine" would prove to be a dangerous thorn in the tripod's sides.
---
Ay'ay'Rahn could not effectivly marshall the resources to launch independent space flight, and would continue to broker deals with friendly powers, collecting research. He was the Grabraf that had become Stitcher. Fiercely loyal to the strange culture he had adopted. Scientific data garnered from disassembly of Pasturian rocket technology would offer useful guidance to their orthodoxy allies.
---
The Niu Whitestone Empire had obtained volunteers from nearly all major houses that yet survived, and often they were so ecstatic to be part of the grand "catalog" that they had died well in advance of volunteering. The dead could be so eager! From their collective genetic legacies, a number of beneficial and harmful mutations were cataloged and eventually put to work. Within the year, the white stitchers noticed a dramatic reduction in hypersymmetry and other birth defects. While not practical for non-stitchers, the technology would gradually bleed into the rest of the stitcher nations, increasing health, lifespan, and quality of existence. There was nothing new to it, but a distillation of essence to something more pure. More even. It was the eradication of the genetic dark elf.

More impressive was the study of living Sandstone members. Their minds were...impressive, but ultimately the product of environmental stimulation coupled with latent hereditary mutations. Rather than the ways of old, simply merging several brains together, the new path forward was to induce tumor growth an then reverse the tumor into a stem cell bundle with predisposition to become neural matter. While early trials were problematic, latter efforts were easily duplicated and became quite popular.
---
In a very unexpected move from the orthodoxy, the practice of "sustained jumping" lead to EM hopper-bots breaking into orbital rotation around essari. Those first brave explorers would be remember as the re-entered the atmosphere as shooting stars, their crystalline machines burning a rainbow of unnatural colors in the night sky. The "Shooting Stars Legion" was born.
>>
>>4452571
Niu whitestone traders and therapists became a common sight through stitcher holdings, well respected and given consideration. The insular nature of the Orthodoxy hindered their ability to tolerate foreign lands, while the secretive nature of the P.T., coupled with increasing integration of non stitcher races, caused large concerns within the Orthodoxy. Due to the leadership of the younger Niu Empire, and their excellent rapport with the other two factions, something resembling a security and trade cooperation began to emerge. It was known simply as "The House."
---
RT attempts to project power were rather...disastrous. The voltanite territory was full of controlled Grabrafs with technology enough to shoot down the lone bomber sent to put down the node in that area, meanwhile the Nantamaka had managed to shoot down the lumbering HAMs before they brought harm to their Node. Across the mainland region, attempts to harm nodes were defeated again and again, it seemed that each experience was shared across the collective, learned from, and improved on. The age of assassinating individual nodes may well be past, and more costly interventions would need to be brought forward.
---
Optimaris Zet's cybernetic ports burned. Small wisps of smoke emanated from charring flesh as the effort to control the massive energies he acted as a focus for. Between his mind, and the latent shadow AI, they reached out in an approximation of communication the AA Nodes themselves used, the message simple; "We can leave. We can talk. We can come to terms." Already the bespoke communications network was prodded by enormous minds, their innocent curiosity or careful skepticism nearly destroyed the best equipment the Syndicate could put forward. Server racks overworked themselves and smoked while radio arrays and transformers exploded here and there. What they had to say would have to be reivewed, but it was sure, at least for a moment, the Syndicate had made contact with the Nodes.

Medical attendants already prepared for surgical intervention, the prone form of Optimaris was hoisted onto an operating table. He would need rest. This was careless.

>RT culture rolls: A rotting pile of filfth.

Yxade this, yxade that. Let's avoid the semantics and get to the point:

The split Boreos communicated with each other, their companions were after all, allies. Why wouldn't they be too?

Well, allies is perhaps too strong of a word. Friends? Acquaintances perhaps? No, no. It's way simpler, a silbing rivalry, a never-ending fraternal competition.

While the focus was still subjugating and defeating their estranged cousins, a back-up plan was still needed, should things go south. The RT nations silly little 'Space Race' was no original idea, but another case of subtle nudging.

The tripods weren't very willing to risk their own skin unless the pay-off wasn't an absolute certainty, and with how dire things had become in the mainland, even loyal NG lives became more and more precious.

Essari's resources seemed to be steadily depleting over time thanks to the AA-nodes, all resources except one. A rotting pile of filth, several piles actually. Decomposing corpses filled with lead, gunpowder, salhetite, and radioactive material. Biohazardous masses made out of their twice fallen kin.

The Boreos were good at killing them. And now the tripods would have to be good at relocating them, to a very special location too.

The RTs may have been spreading themselves a bit too thin, engineering-wise. And so, to cut corners, they decide to merge their spaceship test launches with their garbage launches. Not a good idea, not a bad one either though.

The Jadijinese, glorified garbage trucks make their way into Tir'ki with no major issues. That is, until the time for landing had come. The one-way rocket, stocked with other supplies for a future colonization mission crashes into the crust of the moon, cockpit first. All resources are destroyed, but the rotting braffzombie carcasses do end up there. The mission is deemed a lukewarm success. Hooray...?

The Patsurian spacecrafts don't bode as well as their western counterparts. Cyboreo's diligent manner of dealing with the undead backfires, and the RT rocket scientists fail to account the amount of kineticlay and sharpnel mixed in with the corpses into the total mass of the payloads. Neither did they account for the launch sites to be hit by what passerbies described as ''A gigantic cloud of Braffberg shit.''

The literal shitstorm causes the rockets to go way off course, crash landing in Lune. Depositing the palpitating mass of carcasses a few kilometers north of Ti'ras Moon Base's designated Kiwi mass grave.

--Tripod Space Race Event: The Pale Blue Dot--
It would be the culmination of 5 years of planning and effort, along with another 2.5 agonizing years of wait as the Jadijinik Empire, followed by the Patsurian Union Space Mission to the tantalizing pale blue world the Tripod dubbed Tir'ki. The two separate missions were a form of friendly competition to see whose Space Technology was superior and who could reach the Moon World first. It was also a critical mission for either nation Space Agency to answer the question of whether there were worlds within their solar system viable for future space colonization.

Jadjinik Mission Results (6,7,4,8)
The Jadijinik Empire was main rocket was no-more than a model improve on the TPN SSTO Rocket, so the leaving the atmosphere presented its usual margin of error and in this case, a rather substantial heat shield to protect the sensitive payload aboard. The journey through space was arduous for the vessel, encountering perils such as space dust that severely damaged the crafts communications array largely leaving the BoreoBot at the helm alone. A collective sigh of relief came for the Jadijinik Space Program when the craft transmitted it's arrival and later successfully landing and broadcasting for the first time from another world. The feed showed a world of glacial cathedrals with a view throughout . Later analysis would confirm a Nitrogen-Oxygen atmosphere, a definitive presence of water, and an average global temperature of around 3˚C.

Patsurian Mission Reuslts (8,8,5,2)
The Patsurian Union blessed with its industrial sector under the protection of CyBoreo allowed the nation to focus its efforts into building a newer, more efficient SSTO Rocket, dubbed the Patsurian Voyager capable of launching their Spacecraft into orbit with little issue. Similarly, the journey to Tir'ki was uneventful that could not have been a better outcome in this first foray into deep space. Despite the TPN having launched their spacecraft several weeks after the Jadijinik Space Mission, the speed and efficiency of the Patsurian Voyager allowed to close the gap to just a few days after the Jadijinik broadcast of Tir'ki. Eager to not be overshadowed, by their competitor, the Patsurians scanned for land to set down their space lander. After identifying a potential landing spott in the southern hemisphere, the probe made its descent only to find that instead of solid ground the lander found itself submerged in Tir'ki's tropical waters. The waterlogging would temporarily short-out the lander, but at least the Patsurians did confirm that there was water on Tir'ki. A lot of water.

The shitpost:
For many decade the distributed mind of brapper had been observing essari...finding a degree of peace and enjoying the winds of chance; enabling it to harass the small sapients with itching, stenching, flowers that constituted it's now decentralized mind.

For all the ignobility of it, brapper was likely the most aware of all the AA nodes, being everywhere and nowhere. It was ironic then, that the sapients it desired to suffer, would now offer it liberation.

The Niu Whitestone empire needed communication, it knew "The house" needed communication. Capability to keep up with the growing satellites around the world, capability to compete, and simply know like the tripods did, with the endless sensors. It was that the blossoms would be of use, using the stitcher to node interface derivative technology, banks of computers were augmented with blossoms...soon "The gardens" would bring new capability to both whitestone, and brapper.
---
The great rectification.

Whitestone knew well enough 3 was not even. Balanced. Yes. But not even. 3 Stitchers, Weavers, Pretorians, and those considered normal, the only who could breed, yet not effectively weave, nor show great strength and resilience, or cunning of mind. No. It was the measured and steady enhancements to their own bodies that would create new evenness.

Researchers created what in times past may be called heresy, the act of the dark elf, or worse. What may now simply be called necessity. A functional amalgamation of all the desirable traits a stitcher could have across each morphology. A "Primary".

The first few Primaries born were for lack of a better word, perfect. Too perfect, they caused other stitchers to commit suicide in their presence, or fall into rages or deep depressions.

The mesh network developed by the Niu Whitestone Emprire further cemented them as "The way forward" for stitchers, at least those who would think such thoughts. A hundred million low resolution eyes all over the planet, now available to the stitchers. No longer blind. Useful instant communication and available bandwidth...at a price. A small one. Brapper gained countless bodies, as the "computer" banks around the stitcher territories flowered into "Gardens", eyeless lobotomized stitchers slowly twitched to life, a few here and there breaking away from the computational banks to tend to their kindred before periodically returning as if nothing at all happened. For the most part the flowers growing out of the "computers" eyes an mouths was viewed as an aesthetic improvement and of little concern.
--
The Primaries were slow to spread, and contained exclusively to the highly radial whitestone territory. Where they went, madness spread, thankfully small numbers reduced their impact. Those who survived the presence of such perfection would acclimate, and grow to accept them as natural "foremen". All the while, a particular braffberg observed these developments with great, great, interest.
--
Space flight remaiend out of the reach of "The house" due to what could only be dark elf sabotage. Somehow scientists found that two bytes of their Octobyte determination system had failed, corrupting research and causing several catastrophic explosions as rockets attempted to launch upside down.

Next time the simple but deadly error would be corrected "Dice+6d8" of course, the syntax was backwards. Very odd.

The continued HAMS attacks by the Jadijinik Empire on aggressive AA-Nodes do continue to sow fruit, but are met with an expected blowback for their actions. The HAMS attack on the node responsible for the recent destruction of Matxil Trade Cities was a sloppy yet successful mission. This AA-Node already wary of its attackers strategy fought ravenously to destroy everything the Jadijinik could send at it, gravely prolonging the campaign and expending finite resources; but it would be all be for naught. The Jadijinik Forces steadily broke down the AA-Node, burning away its body till only stasis and self-preservation being its only options left. This battle would not incur a major retaliation from other AA-Nodes but rather leave the Jadijinik Empire with the hollow victory and reclamation of lands burnt and scarred by the power of the HAMS.

The HAMS attack on the AA-Node on the Eastern Coast of Garúa Island went far smoother, largely due to a faster and more centralized concentration of attacks. This attack did not come without the cost of the Fhqwadan Kingdom's coastal cities in the assault. Furthermore, the once friendly AA-Node that safeguarded Fhqwad turns neutral towards the RT, threatening retaliation if another HAMS is used on the island.

----------

The neighboring AA-Nodes surrounding the Nantamaka God Node found the prodding attempts to usurp their control a mild nuisance at worst. Of course the AA-Nodes showed a slither of humility for the AA-Nodes playing god with a bunch of Sapients now happily eating from it tendrils. So a minor compromise was made: relinquishing minor stretches of their far domains to placate the Nodes misguided need to spread its influence. The AA-Nodes know better than to just turn on their own, lest they be willing assimilated into the NodOPPAI's Network. A now perceivably greater threat than one AA-Node.

--Boreo Twins Event: A Fool's Errand--
Tsun-Boreo's pleas for utilizing nuclear armaments en masse on the North Pole in a surprisingly misconstrued goal of releasing "it's" body from its glacial prison. Certainly, it was easy enough to convince its able allies, the Jadijinik Empire after their recent victories in Panoram. Emboldened by this, the Jadijinik thought it a good opportunity to test their might against a greater target, consequences be damned. In doing so though, the Jadijinik Empire would once more cripple its everstrained stockpile in what would be a fruitless effort.

A majority of the nuclear missiles were sighted by CyBoreo's assimilated AA-Nodes, destroying most of the missiles before they could fly over the ice walls of the Borealis Ice Shelf. The remainder of which either dealt minor damage to the Boreo Central Node, or were tagged out of the sky by Cy-Boreo itself. The heat from the 12-15 nukes that did make impact did manage to melt a notable bit of glacial ice, yet the global impact would be minor at best, with much of the melted ice reconstituting over the years.

Miffed by its adversarial counterpart's actions, CyBoreo sends forth an envoy of BoreoBot diplomats to both its allies in the Patsurian Union, and the erstwhile acquaintances in the Jadijinik Empire.

To the Patsurian Union
>It would appear your allies to the West are being emboldened by the false Boreo they are allied with. With the news of their Stitcher brethren regaining contact... somewhat, with their foreign counterparts, the Niu Subter Empire has also received news of the new planet the Tripods have landed their drones on. This drove the Far Ark-ology project into overdrive, not wanting to be outdone. The Cave Grabrafs shall achieve spaceflight, and set foot in another world, one way or another!
At the same time, a research group within the Ark-ology projects had struggled with an alternative way to contact spaceships other than radio. Some researchers see potential within the humble laser tube, could it lead to something greater?
Meanwhile, the Deep Ark-ology project continues on. The superstructure has been finished, a glorious multi-leveled box that is encased in durable CG alloys. Now the Ark proceeds to the next step: the power supply system. Designed with redundancy, stability and longevity in mind, the power complex is really... complex. Several geothermic plants powered by diverted magma under the Ark will power it initially, but two nuclear reactors will then be utilized for long-lasting power generation. Dippy just hopes no major catastrophe occurs, Satokh-Otai is their only Ark-capable site at the moment.

Deciding to forgo navigation computers entirely, the third spaceflight test was a minecart wreck in motion. Not only the overzealous thrust knocked out the pilots immediately after launch, but the unspent first stage had also been decoupled way early, bathing the launch gantry with exploding rocket fuel. Not only that, the guidance system that's supposed to be operated manually had locked into place, and sent the prototype straight into a course to Lunes... towards one of the Ti'ras Lune Moon Base habitats. While not scoring a direct hit, the fallout of this incident will be huge.
Another bad news hit Dippy one after another, but thankfully this one wasn't that catastrophic. The nuclear reactors on Satokh-Otai failed to start, condemning the Ark-ology to half of its projected power generation. The inert reactors will have to be repurposed somehow, and for the time being the coolant well is now a safe public swimming pool, after ensuring the fissionable materials have been removed, of course.
Meanwhile, laser research has hit a dead end; CG might be good at miniaturization but they sure can't scale things up very well. What they ended up with is a home appliance that cooks using intense light instead. Sorta like a microwave but if you open it while it's cooking, you'll go blind.

The findings of the node were curious indeed - a strange kind of particle was produced, one that reacted solely with the undead. When a zombie, be it of stitcher or node make, is irradiated, a silvery foam will start leaking from it's head, soon dispersing into more of the particles. The strangest thing however is the effect this has on the zombie's mind - that being a sudden and powerful lapse in consciousness.
On a side note, the amount of on-site accidents, both benign and not, tends to increase sharply whenever the collider is used to produce the particles, so the scientists prefer to use the "zombattery method" when possible; letting a zombie's mind degrade among fellow zombies to convert them into further particle generators.

==Rogue AA-Nodes Event: Broadening Horizons==
The Major AA-Nodes, dubbed more recently as "Rogue Nodes" by the adversarial AA-Node collective outside their assimilated network, have recently begun to once more expand their influence onto new AA-Nodes. The reasoning and efficacy of this assimilation has begun to vary greatly between each Rogue AA-Node.

For Jahonia, its purpose in assimilation is now centered in the long-term goal of eventually coalescing the whole of Sujardin's nations under their embrace. Utilizing her now steadily growing Order of Crystknights, Jahonia seeks to appeal to Sujardinese AA-Nodes already friendly towards the Grabraf to join into its network.

For NodOPPAI, its intents in expansion and assimilation were to purely gain control of lands conveniently under Sedai Syndicate dominion, that if successful may garner the Cult of Ozarasi influence over the Essarian Superpower.

Denu'arctis continues expanding northward into the Torray Isles to complete its assimilation of the AA-Nodes there, completing its end of the devil's bargin with the Stitcher of the newly minted Stitcher Coalition "The House" would know full well who they owe their "freedom" to.

CyBoreo assimilation efforts are benefited greatly by its Patsurian allies who co-developed machines to help expedite its assimilation process. Using this boost in its network growth, CyBoreo now begins expanding its Network, aiming to connect its Panoram domain of control with the main domain in the North Pole.

Tsun-Boreo, discontented with its failed attempt at gained hardly any control over the North Pole, would focus its Node Network expansions in a subtle effort to curtail the expansion of it divergent Boreo counterpart.

==AA-Node Event: The Great Schism==
It had been over half a century now since the AA-Nodes since the Sapient dubbed event, The Awakening where the AA-Node nearly effortless asserted their control over the sapient world. They had struck fear into the hearts of Grabraf, Tripod and Stitcker alike, crippling their growing international unity. Yet, over the decades their supremacy of the world had not only be challenged and undermined by resurgent Sapient Factions, but Powerful Nodes allied with the Sapients residing within their Global Network vying to take control of it all for themselves. The tide of control of Essari was beginning to turn once more and a final solution was deemed absolutely necessary by many within the Node Collective.

For almost a decade now this topic of a final solution was in discussion amongst the AA-Nodes, with eventually two distinct factions of thought forming up to this date. One faction strongly believes in the ideology of system exterminating other Sapients and their allied AA-Nodes, sparing only those of NG and FG. The other faction appealed to a more moderate solution, expanding on the already practiced concept of Rulership/Co-habitation with the Sapients via vassalizing the most significant or complacent nations under their control, in a misconceived ideal of the absent Emra's co-existence plan with Essari's sapients. Despite both sides believing that the most influential individual AA-Nodes present the greatest obstacle for enacting these solutions, neither could come to appeal successfully that their solution was the optimal path.

The debate over this topic had begun slowly eroding the unified front the AA-Nodes had in both efficiently stamping out AA-Node resistance, and deterring further assimilation of Nodes into rogue networks. This would only cause the AA-Node faction to push more aggressively for a reform in their plans to hold control of Essari along the lines of their proposed solution. Recently individual skirmishes across the globe between small AA-Node clusters began breaking out over the disdain for the other factions perceived inaction in putting a stop to the Sapient's slow regrowth. These physical conflicts wrecked havoc on the local environment, paying little regard to any natural habitats or Sapient Civilization caught in the midst of the fighting. More level-headed individual in both Node Factions hoped to quell further violence, but many feared or even hoped for it to accelerate.

>Two Rolls for this Event. (Result Roll with Map to Follow)
>First Roll for how bad the factional fighting gets (Lower roll means more widespread conflict. Higher means more isolated and subdued conflict.)

>Sedai, space: expansion

The lunar colony had sustained many losses, but was finally starting to grow once more. Enough that the governing body would consider deploying new ships out into the depths of the solar system, generation ships. Their missions would be to establish outposts to enable future exploration.

>Sedai, Essari: exploration

Optimaris had awoken after nearly two decades of cryosleep. His body was now riddled with exotic cybernetics, and even the strange "dust" of the stitchers. It had been so long since his space craft failed, so long since he died on the machine. So long...since...he..was...himself...The garnered memories of his predecessors were no longer so distinctly foreign to his mind. They were his, but he knew they were not.

In the coming days Optimaris Zet would enact rolling changes across the Syndicate, and redirecting effort towards FTL communication as a mandate to the lead technological and industrial clans of the old Zaibatsu.

Lastly began an ambitious project. Elderly Chungus craft would be retrofitted for a new exploration...deep. An old acquaintance he had never met burned in his mind. Emra. Librarian. Still down there. In the dark. Help would be needed.

>The House: Loyalty repaid
Denu'arctis had given the stitchers much. Enough even. It was a series of small gifts they would proffer to their benevolent tyrant. First was an attempt to interface the distributed brapper network into Denu'arctis, giving the braffberg eyes and ears around the planet. Next was the result of significant study by the fleshwrights of "The house". Improving on the earlier heretical class of giant abominations, an attempt would be made to create superior machines, built of flesh and crystal, plastic and steel. A weapon to surpass Stitcherbot.

Tsun-Boreo attempts at node expansion are bogged down largely by efforts from the AA-Node collective to undermine its network expansion. This was partly in retaliation for attacks on Nodes by Tsun-Boreo's Sapient ally, the Jadijinik Empire, coupled with a recent spike in hostile resentment towards the Rogue Node Networks in general. Fortunately consolidation of control over Tsun-Boreo's dominion is going well.

CyBoreo Network expansion is mired by similar hostilities and resistance towards the Boreo's Node Assimilation. The only silverlining from this being the Patsurian's NIHT deployment having aided in at least capturing otherwise resistant AA-Nodes into CyBoreo's control, although assimilation of these NIHT stricken Nodes has been a meticulous process.

The NodOPPAI Network Expansion has successfully reached over onto the Brouldian coast, capturing and efficiently assimilation all Nodes present before they could even resist. The AA-Node Collective is now becoming increasing uneasy of this strange Rogue Node's unprecedented control and efficiency.

Jahonia perhaps gained the most from its recent AA-Node acquisitions have managed to not only expand control to, but also now fully assimilate all Nodes of Northeastern Sujardin. The pinnacle of this success comes for Jahonia comes in the assimilation of the AA-Node responsible for the destruction of Northway and the fertile lands of the Norkine Pass, at the very least restoring the deep interior of the Grabrafian Union back under its control. Additionally, the friendly AA-Node residing in Nekonahu near its trade-capital also voluntarily joins into its the Jahonian Node Network.

As for Denu'arctis, the Braffberg does manage to successfully add multiple AA-Node in and around the Torray Isles, including the Torrine Chain, thus completing the annexation of AA-Node control over the Torray Isles. However this success would be hollow one due to over a third of the AA-Nodes in its network still largely acting independent of Denu'arctis. The Braffberg's increasing failures in this assimilation begin to make it a target of further undermining and sabotage by AA-Nodes outside the Denu'arctis Network.
>>
>>4454708
The AA-Node Collective would long refer to the breakdown of Node Unity as The Great Schism. Indeed it would be highlighted by a series of skirmishes across the planet between the Pogromist Faction versus the Stewardship Faction of Nodes. These skirmishes as destructive as they would be would be largely restrained to regions already largely depopulated, mitigating losses to only a few million Sapients over the years following the Schism. After this fallout, the AA-Nodes would divide decisively between the Western and Eastern Hemispheres; the Western AA-Node inclined towards a more total extermination of Sapients, while those in the Eastern Hemisphere look to restricting further Sapient expansion or retaliation against their control, and overtime coercing the most pliable of these nations/factions into vassalage.

Before any of this could begin though, the AA-Node Collective on final act of unity would set their sights on the true growing menaces to the supremacy and autonomy: the Rogue AA-Node Networks of CyBoreo, Tsun-Boreo, Denu'arctis, NodOPPAI and Jahonia.

>Choirgrounds: A. Robotics (7), Plasma Physics (3)

In the years prior to The Great Awakening, The Choirlands had experienced a population and developmental boom, as industrial and scientific progress had made life considerably easier for the crippled and elderly.

However, after the AA-nodes declared war on what seemed to be all sapient life, all these progress disappeared in all places but the larger cities in the Choirlands. But the pariahs of Panoram had always lived hard lives, and the will to struggle against whatever life could throw them was ingrained into every single cell of every attunned citizen.

The greatest singing minds of Essari would combine their brainpower during these years of strife and peril, innovating technology and pushing industry to its limits. Not to fuel ruthless war machines or feed the egos of megalomaniac tyrants, but to help themselves. To survive, nay, to live.

Great mechanical automatons of high articulation and precision aided the Choir members in their day to day routines, and while their existance was far from ideal, it seemed like life was returning to normality.

But the wise clergymen had a bad feeling, one they could only shake off with the help of friends from another parish.

>Sedai Syndicate and Niu Whitestone Empire: Laser Drilling

With the myriad of Zets running amok in (and above) Essari monopolizing former Zaibatsu laboratories and R&D facilities for their own pet projects, the CTs of Sedai have to start tightening their belts and looking into ways to both continue making profits and researching new technologies.

Luckily, their partners over at Foltania have more than a few shared interests, and joint research agreements are quickly drawn up. The loss of patents and exclusivity may hurt a little, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

An instrumental piece for the solidification of this scientific alliance would be the creation of Laser Drilling technology, meant to be used in outer space mining operations. Stitchers were finally making the big leap towards the stars, and decided to happily latch on to whatever speckle of hope they could. As for the Sedai, they had recently discovered some interesting bits of information in their latest subsoil scan of Lunes' surface.

After decades worth of research, trial and error launches, and several zombie-laden construction site skirmishes, the first manned (Tripoded?) mission into Tir'ki was ready to go. So was the second manned mission into Tir'ki. These twin launches never get old apparently.

Just like previous space-related endeavours from Panoram, the Red-Throat's first step into the real final frontier was to be done in a binary manner. The system had proven to work on the past, and it's always better safe than sorry, specially in this awful, awful era. Patsurian rockets, Jadijinese habitats, and absolutely no Boreo-bots. After last decade's incident, aptly named 'The Boreal Missile Crisis', the nations of Panoram decided it would be best not to have Tsun and Cy controlled automatons in the same vessels. The probe bots from last mission are probably in sleep mode somewhere in that moon anyways, right?

The two ships, exact copies of each other, would be non-reusable. A pair of one way tickets to Tir'ki. Staffed with the best Panoram could offer, and a few NGs for good measure, in case food runs out. The launches would have to be at least a few weeks apart, but that didn't matter, because to the RTs, these weren't separate missions, but two halves of a whole. A small step for tripodkind, a large step for tripod unity kind. Hmm, that sounded better in my head, whatever.

The retaliation of the nodes was a bit of a steep roadbump, as it forced Boreo to devote one of it's four nodes to defensive duty rather than to assisting the others in their tasks; still, with each node outputting utterly absurd amounts of resources daily, the setback will be negligible.
He can convert all these bots back into material once the tension dies down, anyways.

From the lunar colony went several dozen "Slivers". Purpose built ships, not for habitation, but chocked full of the best the Syndicate had to offer, with no more than three crew members, all in cryosleep. They would reach their location, "thaw", and begin work with automated assistance. Several dozen other ships were purely automated. It would take time, but the efforts were seeded, and not all would flourish. For now all that was to be done was wait for the better part of a century, and see what resulted. Zet slithered to another chamber in his ship, observing the new tracking and analytics stations. Arms folded neatly, he was pleased. It was worth the trip out of cryo, but now it was time to return. The machine would slow the body but sustain the mind, allow him to crawl through the years and emerge as needed. The engineered flesh of his body still was hale, but the time away from the sun lent an almost translucent pallor. Eye stalks turned to an object nearby.

His hand ran over the smooth plastic of the cryo casket of his genetic uncle, or perhaps brother; Arsine Zet. Since his assassination at the hands of the kiwis it had been an incredibly delayed process to recover the body. Sadly, stitcher technology was not biologically compatible with tripods, not for what he wanted. The Ozasari machinery though, could. At least to extract something of value...another layer of experience, another part to the template. He would be the mold. Staring between the corpse and the Ozasari machine, Zet prepared for the coming months of neurological agony and burn in, coupled with near freezing conditions. Such was the burden of duty.
---
FTL comms were progressing. It was frustrating at each setback, but not impossible to overcome, the engineeres were painfully close. so close.
---
The efforts to format the versatile Chongus style craft into submarines was overly ambitious, even for the resources of the Syndicate. The test vessel was crushed after it failed to gain control once submerged, the doomed crew's panicked last moments were well recorded due to the instrumentation aboard the ship. The project was ended immediately, as a disaster. Oceanic exploration was best left to the experts, a notion that struck a chord with a few Ozasari observers. Leave it to the experts...

Ay'Ay'Rahn, a CG turned machine, turned stitcher in form, would extend the capability of the P.T. maritime security forces to Zet's needs, for a price. Initial services included examination of the Librarian and Emra, along with planting a communication beacon.
---
The Niu Whitestone empire's benefactor greatly appreciated the addition of the brapper network to his collective. While gaining AA nodes was slow, this gave the braffberg immediate global vision, awareness. His mortal vassals were fine instruments, and would not need further punishment. They even punished themselves. Fantastic.

Grey matter flooded from every living stitcher in the complex, and spewed from every test form; giant stitchers clad in controlling armor. The project itself was a derivitive of the original whitestone empire's most heretical experiments. Reality punished them, and soon the exotic matter consumed everything within a spherical kilometer. When it receded, there was nothing left. A perfect crater, filled with reddish fluid. From the efforts of the Niu Whitestone empire, no further Stitchengelions would be constructed. They would stick with late model stitcherbots, enabled with safe nuclear power.

>Ozasari and the Foreign labor.
The Ozasari were a creative lot, capable of learning from other people's failures, and even turning trash into treasure that they would sell, only for others to learn it was still trash. The Tripods failed in their efforts to find suitable labor, because they weren't open to new partnerships. They stuck with the familiar. True. A tripod's form was not suited to such tasks as "Work", that was best left to those with hurkun level intelligence. Still, wretched as they were, they had their place. That place was in space. Ozasari traders to the CG and Stitchers would attempt to barter resources. Space and offworld settlement for labor hours. The resources were there, they just need take them.

>Old house whitestone, madness, pain, and EM plates.
How long had the eternal emperor existed independent, how many iterations of his shattered body had he gone through? His queen still ruled by his side, forever with him as the nutrient rich soup that bathed his remaining organic components. Her loss had been quite detrimental to his sanity. Even now, the king screamed at his latest invention through loudspeakers "LIFT!" over and over. "LIFT!". The plates worked on a theory of electrostatic repulsion, and despite the insanity, he was still a leading authority on engineering within the decrepit ruins of his empire.

>House Heliotrope, space shot.
Several massive EM cannons pointed skyward, refined by precision technology from foreign partners, smuggled in though the efforts of the "Senator". Instead of monolithic rockets or other vehicles, the Stitchers would bombard low orbit with the needed resources, fuel, and crew to achieve their goals..

>Ozasari and a gambit
Having observed Optimaris Zet's attempt at diplomacy with the AA nodes earlier, the board of the Ozasari realized that it was better to ally with the Nodes you know, so to speak, but it was even better to just have a true benefactor. They needed Boreo, not as it is, fractured, but as it was, whole. However, NodOPPAI played a part. They would need to...encourage..perhaps facilitate its merger with TsunBoreo, enough that it could contend with it's Cybernetic Kin. Enough that it could gain the strength to recover it's frozen body. This sort of ally would allow them the clout to gain significant influence over the Syndicate AND the mainlanders.

>Jahonia
Jahonia's reach over Sujardin widened and tightened. It started to matter little of she was worshipped or obeyed. The wife of Grabrafs was loved all the same. Though her primary form was seated forevermore now, it was of small matter to create satelite shells that fulfilled the same purpose of walking amongst the mortals. Guiding them, teaching them, loving them, and showing them fear when needed. It was not enough, and it was not fast enough. The Rogue AA nodes within her rightful domain needed to be aligned, or destroyed before the land was ruined, and her wards along with it...Foreign intervention would be necessary.

Across the many kingdoms, the lady emerged, sometimes from the waters, and other times from within. It was an unsettling display at first, to see a TG female undergo the metamorphasis, blessed though it was, and mercifully expedient. When the lady was done with the mortal shell, it's will was returned, but its form forever changed. Such was the necessity to communicate directly with all leaders from warlords to local magistrates.

>NodOPPAI
The cyberentic node was one of three, similiar in it's deviation from it's remaining kin, but in competition, and constantly at odds with its charges in an uncomfortable and passive aggressive existence. The Tripods had dangerous weapons, and the capability to bring harm to it's being. While the Ozasari were pliable to it's ends, the derivatives of the Zaibatsu were endlessly paranoid, and resisted it's attempts to expand into their territory, going so far as to exterminate nodes that would have eventually fallen to it's influence. Additional resources were needed, quickly, and optimally obtained from near peers.

Ozasari recruitment in the highly insular Subter empire was...a struggle, to say the least. Only a small handfull of CGs agreed to explore this thing called "Space", acting as foremen to a healthy legion of Subter stitchers. These hale, hardy, and disposable individuals would be sent via one way rockets to the inner planets of the solar system with the mission to exploit resources. Those who survived would enjoy a percentage of the venture's profitability, and the subter empire would enjoy joint ownership of off world outposts (Explained as settlements). Let the drilling begin.
---
The eternal emperor's chassis lifted from the ground, wreathed in static charges, ozone filling the air, before he slammed to the ground, several of the repulsor plates exploding, and tragically killing his attendants. While relativly unharmed, and safe due to numerous redundant life support systems, his staff honored his request to "not be bothered" for nearly 15 years.
---
The technology pioneered by the Ozasari was eventually fully refined by the Syndicate. Memories, personality, could be backed up, modified, and even duplicated. This technology was incredibly dangerous, but also incredibly profitable. Despite small quirks, and an arguable loss in the ability to abstract, those Tripods who were properly augmented could gain a significant benefit over their kindred. Learning new languages, skills, or even sharing dear memories was now possible. In the early days it was...highly exploited. Funny memes, embedded triggers, and more. For the Sedia, maintaining sole control of this technology would prove to be an eventual white elephant. Already, many eyes turned towards the creation seeking to make it their own.
---
The stitcher space cannon was sadly located near the new red lake, formed by the exotic matter. Under it's own mass it toppled over and fell into the red fluid, becoming fully submerged. The resulting electrical discharge caused the fluid to momentarily turn solid before liquefying again.
---
The Ozasari did little to convince NodOPPAI of much more than what it already was considering. That it's minions came to the same conclusion indicated it should have acted sooner.
---
Arsine's brain was so badly mangled by the Kiwis who had submitted him to the same experimentation he causally allowed to occur. What was gained were flickers of uncertainty, feelings of debt to the kin, weariness, and hope. The body was incinerated in the thermal exhaust of the nuclear jets, while its sense of loyalty to the mission would be be added into the composite zet-template.
---
Ay'Ay'Rahn personally took up the task. He was unsure if this new body and mind contained what was his old friend; but he often asked the same thing of himself. Looking into a mirror, an approximation of a nearly perfect stitcher looked back at him. Taller than any stitcher, or even most grabrafs...it didnt matter. He was still who he was..a small submarine purpose made awaited.

>Emra and the Librarian.

The kinetic jelly that filled the submarine did not impede the cybernetic body of Ay'ay, the Senator, the Grabraf in stitcher's Skin. So many names, if he could cringe he would. Deep down he was still a humble CG of the Voltanites. Deep down his will was to rescue them yet. He had amassed much power, and this task would garner significant debt with Zet, who's debt is always a good and mostly even thing to have.

Pressing ever down into the crushing depths of the ocean, it was a small matter for the spherical machine. There were no external components to be disturbed, water flowed smoothy over it's surface as electromagnetic impulse and waves guided it's flow, providing all needed control. Numerous scans and visual recordings were made of the titanic entities locked in a lover's embrace. With the work done, magnetic clamps released an expensive payload. All aspects of the contract complete; Ay'ay fled in quick order to the surface, before the automatic countdown of the beacon completed.

By the time the sub had beached the surface and long been recovered, in the deep ocean, Emra was disturbed by a single ping. then another. Then it became apparent that an encoded message was playing. It was Zet. It was...mostly Zet, but all of Zet. The Zets. The mannerisms, tone, and more was blended. Familiar, and alien, things Emra didn't recognize, and the self assured righteous arrogance that was ever familiar. The Tripod had concocted this event just to inform Emra the world was close, but not yet ready. That it looked forward to their eventual meeting for the latest time, for the first time. That there was so much to share. It was not Zet, it was Zet. "Emra. I almost forgot....this is the will of Zet." Bonhomie. That was it. That was what was new.

==Tir'ki Colonization Results==
>Jadjinik Empire: 4, 3, 8, 7
The Jadijinik Empire took a fairly conservative approach in their initial efforts of establishing an off-world colony, with the rationale that establishing a modular barebones setup for their future colony being the most prudent choice. A crew of 150 RT handpicked for their career and technical expertise were placed into Cryo-Stasis, and loaded aboard what could aptly described as a weird cross between a Zaibatsu Era Chungus supercarrier, and an XXL Model of the TPN Spacecraft. The ignition of the engines were so powerful that shockwave centered in the Bushdaran steppe could be felt all the way in Zutsuil, as the hulking spacecraft careened into the sky. This time around though the transit to Tir'ki would be far more uneventful for the Jadijinik Spacecraft which benefited their mission greatly, since much of the more delicate instruments aboard controlling the Cryo-stasis could not afford taking major damage. As the Jadjinik Ship established orbit ahead the planet, RT land scientists were thawed out of Cryo to provide Tripodian input alongside BoreoBot as to the best landing site. It would not take long for them to settle on a substantial landmass in the Southern Hemisphere (Orange Icon on Map)

>Patsurian Union: 8, 6, 4, 1
The Patsurian Union back with a surplus of resource from CyBoreo would go all in on producing a state-of-the-art Colony Ship carrying a cache of supplies large enough to support a colony of 2,000 RT for an Essarian Century. Everything regarding the flight plan was automated or administrated by the BoreoBots aboard as the christened "TPCS Aurora" is launched into orbit, requiring the assistance of multiple SSTO's to place the massive ship into orbit. The journey started off well enough until the second year of the transit to Tir'ki, when the vessel was suddenly broadsided by a comet-storm severely damaging the Aurora's external sensors arrays and navigation system. The result of this ends with the Aurora entering orbit around Tir'ki, but ultimately failing to make geosynchronous orbit, and instead crash landing into the moon world's Southern Glacier Field. Around a quarter of the cryo-stasis colonists would perish in the crash, but those who survived would awaken to a cold and unforgiving start to their Space Colony. (Red Icon on Map)

Although dissatisfied Kiwis looking for change were plentiful, they were not connected as Niu and Trine were; without the coordination of a networked mind, they could easily be separated and slain. The moonbots didn't have this problem - and they also would follow the command of anyone who managed to access their central data repository.
A plan was formulated - a small group of mindlinked Bords would infiltrate the city of Ti'ras Lune, covertly access the master computer, and liberate both Bords and Moonbots from the wretched claws of the tripods.

Niu Subter Empire is now focusing its efforts to the Deep Ark-ology after the diplomatic and technical catastrophe of the last spacecraft prototype. Ozasari had graciously offered a way out by recruiting Niu Subter's manpower for shared offworld mining. Still, there are launch sites and rocket material laying about. What if we use them to send scientific tools to orbit? A machine that collects orbital data, could be useful for our offworld miners.
Dippy wonders at Nippy's idea. Is it even feasible to go into the magma? Probably. But now he must shift his attention to the nuclear reactors of the Satokh-Otai Ark - turns out they didn't work because nobody knew how they even work. The shifty, tall three-armed Cave Grabraf responsible was fired, and the scientists from the Far Ark-ology project were diverted to actually figure out how nuclear reactors work.

Turns out it was easier to make functional navigation systems when it doesn't need to be complex enough to be interfaced with grabrafs. Soon, two new communication satellites were launched, allowing better information gathering from our Ozasari joint venture.
Meanwhile, it was discovered that certain, formerly thought to be 'cursed' metals emit this thing called radiation that could heat up things, and a retrofitted geothermal plant has become Niu Subter's first nuclear reactor of local design. Just wear these heavy lead armor when you're operating it, and sign this waiver. Don't worry, your family will be more than compensated.

The chunguses hauling resources to the space elevator fumble the delivery due to ambigiously worded directions; it takes a few more months to haul all that crap back to where it's supposed to be.
The node experimentation went REALLY south: the prototype external coolant system malfunctioned, leading the node to overheat, which in turn caused it's digestive tract to rupture and flood the rest of it with superheated magma straight from the planet's mantle. Good news: a way to kill nodes has finally been discovered. Bad news: it only works if you have full control over the node anyways.
The construction of the Libraries Of Babel couldn't even begin because all the alloted resources had to instead be used to mitigate the lava flooding.
There is some silver lining, though: the robot army is swelling in size rapidly, the node chucking out hundreds of thousands of the little and not-so-little shits daily. The literal sea of metal and clay murderblobs should act as a decent deterrent for nodes and zombies alike.

The Red-Throats' plan to voyage to the corners of the galaxy had already undergone a few changes, namely the decition to back down on their No-Boreos rule, after realizing that its easier to avoid conflict by having different settlements for each rouge personality, specially when the other option is basically shooting themselves on the foot for the sake of performative 'unity'.

Around five years have passed since the establishment of the Jadijinik and Patsurian colonies on Botesh's moon. --Grabrafian Union Event: The Son of Jahonia--
The religious faith in the aberrant AA-Node known as Jahonia has been an intoxicating influence amongst the Grabraf for centuries, most especially amongst the TG. This AA-Node would serve a crucial role in uplifting the old Kholeskan Alliance, later expanding its control over the Tootine Unity into the dubbed Jahonia's Reach, and finally Jahonia would become the de facto Monarch of the Multi-Grabraf Federation known today as the Grabrafian Union. The AA-Nodes physical manifestation, that of an eldritch-like bipedal form has become a common sight in the realms of many Grabraf, considered by many a blessing or omen. Among Jahonia's many deeds for its fellow Sapients, it would be blessing bestowed on a young TG that would be dubbed The Son of Jahonia: Jo'tohna.

Born into an impoverished TG family, stricken as refugees by the loss of their home city during the AA-Node Awakening, the broodling Jo'tohna was born into a cruel world. That very night of his birth though, the family was visited by the physical form of Jahonia, who enter their abode and seeking their newborn. The two TG mates resisted at first, but the compulsions of the AA-Node before them rendered them powerless, as the AA-Node took hold of the infant Jo'tohna holding him in its embrace, the Rogue Node imparted a slither of its own body into Jo'tohna, forever altering his life.

Jo'tohna would grow up and join the military of the Grabrafian Union, becoming a member of the ennobled "Fists of Hootan" quickly rising in ranks. The TG's iridescent plumage that shimmered like a Fire Opal, and his Symbiote that more than eerily resembled that of Jahonia's bipedal image; Jo'tohna's prestige amongst his Grabrafian peers and ciitzenry alike. It would be his circumstantial involvement in the last skirmish with the AA-Node near Northway prior to its assimilation with Jahonia that would rapidly ascend the young TG's name infamy.

Rumors surfaced that it was not Jahonia, but rather Jo'tohna whom had personally saw to the pacification of the AA-Node response for the deaths of millions of Grabraf over the decades. In reality, it was Jahonia, using the "blessed" Symbiote to manifest the AA-Nodes physical form so it could personally subdue the AA-Node, but the disambiguation of details would prevail. Jo'tohna would be hailed The Son of Jahonia, and the AA-Node not willing to waste a good publicity and morale opportunity quickly affirmed its intentions in guiding Jo'tohna actions. Thus a new hero of the Grabrafkind had been born.
>>
>>4458500
With Jo'tohna's ascent to power, he is ordained into Knights of Jahonia, acting a second to the Grandmaster due to his stature as the prestigious son of their patron deity. Using his reputation as a catalyst, Jo'tohna quiet life and personal aspirations are suddenly more attainable goals in light of his rapid ascent in renown by nearly all within the Grabrafian Union. The exemplar TG would begin making rousing public speeches, reaching out to those within and outside the GU that the time of unifying all of Sujardin was not only necessary for their continued existence, but in mind absolutely mandatory. For Jo'tohna had since his youth held a deep reverence for his homeland of Jahonia's Reach, and his study of history and how the divisions of the Grabrafian nations and cultures had in his mind, stagnated the great progress of Grabraf bretheren, allowing them to be looked down on by the other Sapients of Essari as inferiors. Jo'tohna would personally see to the unity of Sujardin's Grabraf by any means necessary.

Jo'tohna's voice chimed through across the various radio waves of Essari one day. From the Puppet State of the Voltanites, to the deep underground cities of Niu Subter, the charismatic TG spoke plainly to the Grabraf neighbors of the Grabrafian Union
> Hear me brothers and sisters of Sujardin, our ancient homeland. For tens of thousands of years, our people have struggled in external conflict and internal strife in a vein effort to rise a superior to our neighbors. The world is vast though, and the other Sapient of this world have quickly outpaced us due to petty struggles.
> Look to the Nodes we share the earth with! See how their wrathful and merciless genocide of all Sapients has made our political separations no more than vulnerabilities. Look to stars! There you see how our real true Sapient adversaries already rule over us. This cannot stand any longer.
> The Grabrafian Union, our great federation, has shown how unity of all Grabrafkind is what will push us into the future together. We offer a future where all Grabraf will never go hungry, and live long and prosperously into the silver plumage years of life. All you must to is reach out and grasp our hands. The future awaits brothers and sisters. Together!

Jo'tohna wondered to himself as he ended his speech. Who would join willingly into their union together. Surely he thought to himself his brethren residing in the Western Fortress Cities would be first. Surely, a more heavy-handed approach need not be necessary...

Within days of Jahonia's proclamation, a voice could be heard by Jahonia from the heavens above. A particularly CG voice, transmitted from one of the CG communication satellites and directed at the lake where Jahonia resides.
>"Sup, sister? It's ya boi, Emperor Trippy of da Niu Subter gang here. Us here, we just be major chilling, ya know? Just letting you know 'bout what our nerd squad been up to. Way ahead of yours, that's what! Listen, sister! We're holding out on our own here and we're making it big! Going up and down, all over the place. We at Niu Subter would like to help, tradewise or whatever, but we doing our own thing, yeah? So, if you want sum help da Niu Subter got yer back, but we each keep to our own, yea? And if you be fresh wit me, we can hold our own. Now, peace, Trippy gonna ollie outta here."

>tl;dr: Niu Subter is open to peaceful trade, diplomacy, aid etc. with the Grabraf Union but not willing to be subsumed by the GU. Basically post-Brexit Britain, but underground and way more prosperous.
>Reason being the CG still remembers the time during the Subter Civil War where the other Grabrafs went nuts in the mountainholds, but this isn't communicated to Jahonia.

After years of research in how to build new, upgraded Ozark supercomputer mainframes, as well as in the development of better, stronger NIHT instruments, the Orbital Neutralizer-Transmiter Mega Cluster top secret project was nearing completion.

All that was left was the construction of orbital space stations, similar to the one that serves as Zet Optimaris' dwelling

>The Choir: High Voltage Energy Cannons (x2)

A vision, a prophecy perhaps, product of years of studies and pilgrimage to holy and hallowed grounds alike. The teachings of Mazdak and Zahnak, the admixtured heritage of Grimao and her disciples, Nihiloramic gnostic influences, Jadijinese harsh doctrines and Patsurian traditions of remembrance. Through sincretism comes synthesis, from synthesis comes equity, and with equity, liberation.

A new song would soon come, spearheaded by cybernetic messiahs wielding spears of pure light.

>Jadijinese: 3D printing (x2)

The RTs realize that sustaining offworld colonies requires many tools, which often break and become obsolete. As their settlements expand further from home, the shipping of said tools becomes harded. But what if they could be send as data?

>Patsurians: Node Energy Syphoning (x2)

Cyboreo's crusades provided many boons, resources were extracted at an accelerated pace. But armies cannot be upheld by steel and benzene rings alone. The Braffnode used more than his own bio-factories, and the Tripods' industries were sucking dry their electrical grid.

Perhaps theres a way of harnessing the nodes' internal energy, and turning into electricty?

During a routine round of particle production, a new phenomenon was observed: when the "cognition fluid" touched the exposed brains of a not-yet-mindless zombie, it began to writhe and move for a few minutes, before the zombie, too, began producing liquid, at which point it became inert once again. Repeated exposure of the liquid to functioning brainmatter produced similar results. Perhaps with a more well-trained brain, the movement of the liquid could be directed...?

==Rogue AA-Node Event: United They Stand, Or Together They Fall==
With the events of The Great Schism finally over, the Collective Node Network put their difference aside to begin systemically eliminating the Rouge Node Networks. Rogue AA-Nodes suddenly found themselves beset on all sides by malevolent AA-Nodes, intensifying attacks on AA-Nodes within their Rogue Networks, as well as doubling down on commitments to either kill or pacify all Sapient opposition within the Collective Node Network's Domain. Now the larger Braffbergs, Denu'arctis and CyBoreo were too cumbersome to efficiently combat due to their geographic positioning, and substantial biomass; yet this simply made the targeting of the smaller Rogue AA-Nodes more practical and aggressive.

As a result of the re-ignited conflicts between the Rogue Node and the AA-Node Collective, the smaller Rogue Node Networks started looking to combine and coalesce their Node Networks. Naturally, this was already being attempted by NodOPPAI in its less than covert attempts to slowly co-opt the Tsun-Boreo Network. With the revelation of current events though, Tsun-Boreo began opening negotiations regarding an actual collaboration of their networks. Meanwhile, Jahonia with its Node Network now being attacked with a renewed ferocity reached out in desperation to the Braffberg Denu'arctis for aid. Proclaiming it only wanted to hold control of the Grabrafian lands, she pled for the Braffberg to absorb as much of the AA-Nodes surrounding Sujardin and Moralve.

>Two Rolls for each Node (In Order: CyBoreo, Tsun-Boreo, Denu'arctis, NodOPPAI & Jahonia).
>First Roll to determine the rate of their Network Growth. Second Roll to determine success in pacifying aggressive or genocidal AA-Nodes already in the Named Node's Network.
>13th & 14th Rolls to determine how well negotiation between NodOPPAI and Tsun-Boreo, as well as Jahonia and Denu'arctis go. (Lower rolls means little to no diplomatic cooperation. Higher rolls mean diplomatic allegiances successfully brokered)
> Last Roll for how effectively the AA-Node Collective is at attacking and de-assimilating outer AA-Nodes from the Rogue Node Networks.
>CyBoreo automatically gains 3 Nodes due to the actions of its Patsurian allies.
>Jahonia automatically gains 1 inland Node from the actions of its Grabrafian allies.

>Ozasari Cultural Roll:

Negotiations with their Sedai patrons go quite well. The specifics of their space station technology would be handed over, for a price, a contract that assured them Ozasari cooperation in digitalization and computative affairs, should be easy enough.

The BTs had the ONTMC instruments ready, all that was needed was actually getting them into orbit. New negotiations with the other tripod nations, as well as the Peripheral Terminus connections, could be of assistance...

>First batch of rolls determines hoe well negotiations in orbital equipment or rockets loans go: Patsuria, Jadijinese, Sedai, Peripheral Terminus

>Second batch is for: power of the equipment, maintainance/manufactoring costs, cohesiveness of the network, reach of the cluster.
>>
>>4462001
The situation was... lukewarm.

The Ozasari had managed to land a whale, the Patsurians were the largest and most proficient at spacecraft construction. However, the Jadijinese were unwilling to trade much, as they were under a tight resource budget. The Sedai, always eager to trade, drove a hard bargain, and the Pzasari funds could only cover the loaning of abandoned. orbital equipment. The Senator didn't answer their calls, and his secretary mentioned some nonsense about cyborg ninjas.

Prexisting satellites were fitted with Ozark NIHT, which alongside new Patsurian ones formed a Cloud-like cluster around the Cor-Meum orbital station, the core of the network.

The Ozasari ended up spending about half of their original budget, and their cheapness certainly backfired. The ONTMC only had the reach and power to neutralize AA-nodes one by one, instead of their original plans for it to be a quick and easy way to 'turn off' entire node collectives. The system did have enough cohesion for it to function properly, which made up for the lack of power of each individual Orbital NIHT.

Lukewarm would have to be enough.

The Crystal Orthodoxy eldritch experimentation, had for years been pushing the ethical and philosophical limits of what could be considered a "living being". Ravaged bodies of brave soldier powered by "zombatteries" and sewn back together with silver foam, one of but many products of the exotic matter produced by the Orthdoxy's Sandstone LHC Facility. Of course not all exotic matter experiments were successes, and many of these failed experiments with exotic matter could be best described as abominable failures. The experiment with the "Cognition Fluid" would become an exception to this rule.

This ectoplasm like liquid had a series of adverse effects on the brains of reanimated Stitcher "Zombies" In large patch study, where Sandstone Researchers applied the Cognition Fluid was tested on over a thousand Stitcher reanimation subject, the results elicited something strange, yet a miraculous breakthrough. While the overwhelming majority of reanimated bodies perished only a few minutes after interacting with the fluid, a handful of individuals remained standing at the end, capable of not only capable of producing and manipulating the strange ectoplasm, but that seemed to be cognizant of their surroundings. After further study though, it would be discovered that the Cognition Fluid while successfully interfaced with the specimens, their mental capacity had degenerated being comparable to that of a youngling Stitcher.

The Jadijinese colony, Anqayarrán has had a rough time of fully establishing, and moreover, expanding to accommodate the next influx of Red-Throat colonists. The advent of 3D-Printing, coupled with the Jadijinese style of Modular Construction certainly aided in establishing the base of Anqayarrán, but a lack of highly viable ground to cultivate for food, has forced the colonists to focus their finite resources towards rudimentary hydroponics and fertilizer production. A recently lackluster crop season has also dampened the prospects of expansion.

Meanwhile on the Southern Glacier Mov'ysuvi, the Patsurian Colony has finally managed to establish a base. Due to the crashing of the Aurora only damaging ignition systems on the Colony Ship, the Patsurian Colonists suddenly found themselves with an excess of resources to use, including the repurposed Nuclear Reactor from the Aurora to provide the colony with a surplus of power and heating. Expeditions have been sent out from the base to seek out potential sites for resource extraction, but no team has yet explored far enough to find any valuable sites, being largely hindered by the harsh weather of the Southern Polar Desert.

==World Event: Marabunga Virus - Origins==

Viruses, the microscopic agents of malevolence upon the stage of life can be found in a near infinite forms, with many ranging from mild or benign, to outright virulent contagions. Their rapid ability to adapt to adversity in overcoming the biological defenses of its potential host, as well as overcoming the tribulations of harsh climates or vector transports has long made them a threat to the civilized world. Essari is no exception, having dealt with many viral contagions in its past, but the Marabunga Virus would become potentially its most potent treat.

The Marabunga Virus before its manifestation into a potentially pandemic level virus could be found in a menagerie of livestock across Essari. So in a way it was never really a matter of when the Marabunga Virus would become a threat to civilization on Essari, but rather where.

nice. 'Artificial Intelligence' for stitchers really means: using the stitcher brain in the stitcher computers in ways that not only follow rules but also create new ones. For the purposes of this game, it's just bio-AI, just treat it like normal AI w/e.

Now to the fun stuff

>>4460524
Considering that the physical makeup of the strange liquid was so completely and incredibly alien, and so unintelligable even for the strongest stitcher minds, it was finally decided to brute force the issue: Hook up a strong stitcher computer, maybe five, six hundred stitcher brains worth, to the hadron collider as it produces whatever it was that made the liquid first manifest, and have the computers try to just get anything intelligable out of it using self-learning bio-AIs. They are essentially hundreds of extremely fast random-script-generators. The intelligence only comes into the equation in their ability to determine when something has a lawful effect.

The collider was running for days, weeks, while the brains on the computers slowly liquified as they were overclocked ten times over. Bodies were switched out, false positives dismissed, until, finally, gold was struck.

Unit P'-009532-T-T-'' worked a somewhat simple script, which, on the surface, seemed nonsensical, a random string of commands that were able to resolve, but didn't really do much more than just allign the mechanical comoponents of the Stitcher-Collider interface in a way to have the script run, terminate, and repeat.

Something in that structure, it is theorized, must have caused what happened next.

In the middle of the switched on colider, a disk appeared, a flickering, completely 2D disk, just hovering in its middle, covering about 45% of its inside. Faint electrical energy eminated from it from time to time, as it swirled and shifted, but remained as long as the P'-009532-T-T-'' kept its program running.

One of the attendant scientists threw a crystwrench onto the disk. It disappeared.

Hm, thought the scientists. This really opened up more questions than it answered. No one was quite sure if this was to be considered a success.

I think the intention was much simpler: Since ectoplasm breaks down into null light, and null light manifests ectoplasm out of consciousness, putting ectoplasm onto a zombie would manifest more ectoplasm for a bit (and since they are open all over, it leaks).

Doing that, you can use a zombie as an ectoplasm dispenser. A living stitcher with a zombie on his back could then, if he knew how, manipulate that ectoplasm using his own consciousness. That latter point, I think, was the roll.

The Sujardin scouts do a sorta mediocre job - about half the initial squad ends up being cannibalized for parts for the other half, and the fact that grabraf society isn't used to hunks of dirt and scrap walking around on the streets means that most scouting will have to be done covertly.

>Aw shit, it's Red Hurkun Plague all over again
Niu Subter would lose two-thirds of its livestock, some of it Hurkuns brought by Grabrafs during the civil war - but it crossed species boundaries and affected the domesticated Faceted Tourmalines, tamed long ago to aid in Subterranean Braffibush pollination. The Marabunga virus wiped out two-thirds of Niu Subter's livestocks - and with most of the Faceted Tourmaline gone, the Braffibush harvests went with them. The country is now experiencing potential famine, and as a precaution some of the surviving Faceted Tourmalines are shuffled into the incomplete Satokh-Otai Ark. Dippy felt the additional stress from this.
The virus' jump between the Hurkuns to the Tourmalines fascinated some doctors and scientists. How can this be? They search for answers.
In the meantime, progress on the Ark continues. With the power generating systems now fully operational (the nuclear reactor swimming pool's closed now and working as intended), next on the line is life support systems. Good thing that the Faceted Tourmalines are there already, to er, test for survivability.

The exploitation of natural symmetry for conversion of interaction to mass and vice versa has not been achieved - obviously, this is because the scientists aren't thinking hard enough, while the computers aren't thinking smart enough. Perhaps if they were rid of such unneccessary processes as emotions and attachments, while not losing their advanced minds and vast knowledge as computers do, the scientists could be improved in their efficiency?
Rolling for mind modification and for boson-fermion symmetry exploitation again

--World Event: The Digital Renaissance--
For over half a century on Essari, the global economy and direct interaction of Sapient nations has been strained considerably in the wake of the AA-Node Awakening. The sabotage of physical communication networks and trade routes had all but stalled out the progression of global cohesion for decades, with radio and telegram communications either completely sabotaged or greatly complicated by AA-Node interference. However, it was during the AA-Node Awakening that the advent of satellite communication had been on the rise, spreading outward from TPN and Sedai engineers, with the technology steadily getting into the hands of lesser nations in more recent years.

As a result the hampering of communication had been broken in the most recent that had subsequently hindered the progress and the proliferation of technology around the world. Finally though, with satellite communication largely unimpeded by AA-Node interference, the spread of ideas and technological discovery would once more hit an all time high.

And so the Second Renaissance, a Digital Renaissance had begun for all the nations of Essari.

--Event Sapient Technology/Cultural Advancement Rules--
• A poster ID may make up to 5 rolls for each Sapient race in a 24 hour period
• A poster ID may make up to 4 cultural related advancements in a 24 hour period
• Sapients may only roll for technologies above their current tech level (as shown in the attached pdf) if they are 8 or more technologies known of their current technological stage.
• For a technology to be learned by a sapient race, a poster must roll a 4 or higher of a 1d8 roll (Nomads of Skrigjaarden roll a 5 or higher) to successfully implement/learn a new technology. (put "dice+1d8" in the options field)
• Tier 8 Technology requires a 6 or higher of a 1d8 roll (Nomads of Skrigjaarden roll a 6 or higher).
• Tier 9 Technology requires a 7 or higher of a 1d8 roll.
• Any poster may freely roll for sapient exclusive technological advancements via 1d8 roll. (The context of the technology in related to the sapient races current technological state will heavily influence how successfully the technology is implemented)
• Technologies can be learned through interactions with other races and would require a 1d8 roll from a poster that is a 4 or higher. (Only 1 roll at this per day for any poster)
• The resulting roll will dictate how successful the technology is implemented into a sapient tribe. (This result also determines whether positive or negative cultural events will occur to the sapient race)
• These rules will remain in effect until the thread's archival.

==World Event Part 1: The End of the Beginning==
The story of Essari has been one of a multi-act play showcasing all that life on this world had to offer. The rise of civilizations on Essari would be a crescendo to this story, and one that exhibiting all the majesty and all the atrocities it's sapients were capable. Furthermore, the tenuous relationship with the primeval Emra and its AA-Nodes with the sapient for many millennia has ultimately helped to build up many nations and sapient civilizations into the state they are today. Now as the many races of Essari look to stars, the final pages of this chapter in Essari come to a close.

Yet the future for Essari and it's many civilizations has only begun.

>These 5-7 posts are going be focused on establishing some final in-game events for Essari /qst/ threads.
>This particular thread petered out pretty early, but I think that's frankly for the best, and for those interested in continuing on it or knowing about future EvoGame Projects, I would highly encourage you join the Discord. (https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJ)
>The next post will feature a final series of in-game events with rolls included for every Essarian Nation/Faction. After that I'll be posting very brief result statements for each roll as necessary.
>the posts after that will be focused on what each individual gains as new Technology either through their own innovations, or via allied/neighboring nations exchange of knowledge.
>Finally, the last post will be about Emra.

Last for the success of the Galvanic Alliance in reaffirming its borders and possibly even annexing lands from neighboring countries
>Higher rolls means a exemplary success in the edicts and reformations of Arel'tan, while lower roll results in more mild/lackluster outcomes on the rolled edicts

-Grabrafian Union/AA-Node Event Roll-
>Single Roll to determine the outcome of the fight between the Genocidal AA-Nodes of Sujardin and Jahonia
1: The August Idol is slain. The Rogue Node Network is subsequently dismantled, with many of the Nodes maliciously lashing out at the Grabraf once more
2-4: The August Idol staves off the attacking AA-Nodes, defending its domain at grave cost to Jahonia physically and metaphysically. It will likely be many decades before the AA-Node can even consider expanding it Node Network again
5-6: Jahonia is able to defeat the Genocidal AA-Nodes, severely weakening their domain control around the Jahonia Node Network. The Grabrafian Union subsequently reclaims some lost lands to these AA-Nodes
7-8: Jahonia cleanly defeats the Genocidal AA-Nodes and is furthermore able to forcibly assimilate these battered and weakened AA-Nodes into its Node Network, becoming the dominant Node in Sujardin as a result

-Niu Subter Empire Event Roll-

SO! Due to how well these rolls turned out, I'm gonna be doing something a little different, and due to actual time constraints these changes likely won't make it onto the thread before it archives. This also applies for the final Emra Happening Post.

With that said, I would once again encourage you to join the EvoGame Discord if you wish to see the concluding updates on this. Link: (https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJ)

That's it then, I'm officially out on that note. Thanks for participating or lurking to everyone that did so.
