Wealth, fame, power. Gold Roger the king of the pirates obtained this and everything else the world had to offer. And his dying words drove countless souls to the seas.
"You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place. Now you just have to find it!"
These words lured men to the grand line, pursuing dreams greater than they ever dared to imagine. But right now you're regretting ever listening to its siren call. The voice you just heard. It's unmistakable. It belongs to the only person, no being that could strike fear into your heart.

Now you count three possible courses of action you can take. First, you pull your pants up, grow a pair of balls and act like the big bad pirate you are. Meaning you run the hell away with your tail between your legs as fast as your legs can take you and most likely eat a knuckle sandwich for your troubles. The second is equally terrifying. Remaining seated and pray that she doesn't see you until you move. And lastly try to deceive her by pretending to be someone else. This would be the most likely one to work but would earn the biggest beating should you fail. And you probably will.

She hasn't seen you yet has she? Good that means you have some time. Think! Think! She arrives and turns you around by the shoulder.
"Bro?"

In your panic you pull on your eyes and assume a thick accent.
"Bro? Bro who? Me no know you! Me rocar! You go now. You go!"
BONK.

Predictably she clobbers you over the head hard enough to spawn three apple sized lumps stacked on each other. With your lights knocked out she drags you back to your seat and begins strangling you while shouting your head off.
"JUST WHAT WAS THE BIG IDEA HUH?! I find you on the ass end of the West Blue and this is how you greet me? You ungrateful little sh-"

"Recruit. It'd be nice if you didn't kill a civilian in a bar."

"A-ah yes! Sorry vice-admiral!"
Realizing what she's doing she lets go of your neck and your head falls backward as you gasp what may be your last breath. You owe that granny now big time. But as you hold onto dear life the she-devil straightens you out and stares at you for a good couple of seconds as tears slowly swell under her eyes. She goes in for a big bear hug and begins bawling loudly and crushing your spine now.
"I-I thought you're dead!"

"So. Silver is the boy you never stop talking about. Small world."

"S-Silver? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! You got a name! I'm so happy!"

"Okay that's enough recruit. Have some composure."
Finally she lets go of you and you can collapse peacefully which allows you to recount how you got into this mess. Of course you fail to do so partly due to the brain damage from asphyxia and partly because it was never your fault. Mary Killgrew. Just about the only other kid in your "home" and the bane of your existence. She left to the sea two years ago and you hoped she got far enough that you'd never cross paths with her ever again. Clearly you're not that lucky.

"Now would either of you mind explaining just what kind of history you two have? Because I don't see a family resemblance."

You may be right, but our adoptive(?) sister woulda spilled the beans on us eventually anyway after meeting her like this. We're just speeding up the inevitable.

I just hope that Marcella and Murray don't saunter into this particular bar while we're there. Telling our past to a high-ranking Marine is one thing, revealing we're a fledgeling pirate is an express ticket to a holding cell.

You sigh as you nurse your head wound and look at Mary who's still sniffling. She won't be able to talk like that. Good.
"You know where we lived Granny?"

"Amble Village was it? A small island that was inhabited not too long ago. I'm, I'm sorry about what happened. Ms Crybaby over there didn't talk for three days when she heard about it. Truly a tragedy. What happened there?"

"I'll tell you. I lost my parents when I was very little. Don't even remember them anymore. We sailed on a big boat but it crashed. I washed ashore when I was... 3? Maybe 4. But nobody else did. I don't know how long I lived there with the animals but probably more than a year. Then the people with the ships came. They settled down and found me."

"And they adopted you I presume? You're adoptive siblings?"

"No. They put a collar around my neck and said they own me. I lived in the wood stockpile, in a house I put together from small logs. If I wanted to eat anything other than dirt I had to work. Go to the woods and mines, bring stone, iron and wood back to the village. Then they let me eat from the garbage."
Old lady Tsuru doesn't seem surprised or shocked at all. But from the small frown you can tell she doesn't like what she hears.
"But I was the only other kid there so Mary always wanted to play with me even when the adults said no, because she was also alone. She kept calling me "little brother", the adults called me her "dog". Then she left for the marines two years ago."
You recall that she joined the Marines because her mom and dad were also in the navy but she probably knows that so you skip it.

"And this year it got destroyed under mysterious circumstances. Nobody knows what really happened only that the entire town disappeared with no survivors."
She's expecting you to give her answers. Well she'll get some.

"There was a fire. A big one. I was out of town when it broke out. I was building a boat to run away."

That's about the gist of what happened so you cross your arms and sit back. Mary then put her hand on your back even though she knows you hate that. She takes out several crumpled up paper bellies out of her pocket and shows them to you in her clutched fist.
"When I heard about the island I- I thought you died! L-Look! I almost saved up enough to buy your freedom! I was going to come back but I, I was too slow! I'm so sorry little bro!"

She breaks down again and Tsuru confirms what she just said.
"It's true. She lived on nothing but white rice and water for two years to save up money. Never told anyone why though. Up until now that is."

So that's what she was planning. That makes things a bit more complicated. You never had a problem with her leaving before because it meant she didn't beat you anymore. But knowing she left to purchase you from the village chief. Oh well.
>>
"B-But now you're here! You're alive! You can live a normal life! Once I become an officer I can take in and support you! O-Or you can join the marines and we can be together fore-"

"No thanks. I think the uniform looks silly and it sounds boring."

She seems heartbroken from this and shows weakness you never knew she was capable of showing.
"I see. I guess, I guess I did let you down. As did the marines. Even mom and dad. I wrote to them about you but nobody ever did a thing because it was a small island in the middle of nowhere that wasn't part of the world government. Heh. Some Justice..."

"There's just one thing that's bothering me boy. What caused that fire exactly?"

"I don't know. And I don't like recalling that time."

"Understandable. Forgive me for prying. I didn't mean to bring back bad memories. I apologize."
She then looks at Mary.
"I'll give the two of you ten minutes alone. Make the most of it recruit. Then we have to get back to business."

"Yes ma'am!"
She salutes and watches her CO leave the inn.
"Little- I mean Silver! I'm sorry about leaving you back in the day. But I felt like following mom and dad to fight for justice. For you and everyone else. In fact, mostly you. Every day when my body felt like breaking I had to remind myself of the little boy in Amble Village who never gave up no matter how much weight they put on his shoulder. You were my reason. And will be. You understand? Please nod!"

"I get it. Don't worry. I'm learning now."
She seems to be tearing up again when she hears the word 'learn'.

"Good! That's good. Learn, grow and make yourself a life! I know you can. Unfortunately I can't be with you. I signed up to Granny Tsurus ship to go to the Grand Line. And now I can't back down even though I know you're here. So... take care of yourself for your big sister okay?"
You nod.
"Good! But hey! I'm only leaving tomorrow. So what do you say about spending a little time with me tomorrow?"

"I'll think about it. But I may hang out with my friends instead."

"F-Friends? I'm so, I'm so HAPPY!"
She cracks your back again with a bear hug and goes to granny Tsuru.
"Take care of yourself you hear?"

"Okay."

Good she finally left. Your 'big sister'. The siblings you never asked for nor particularly liked since you always got in trouble because of her. Either she beat you up or the adults did because 'you bothered her'. But she's still the only one from your home that you don't absolutely despise. Well, despised.
Now you're free to leave this place and find your crew. Your best bet would be the ship and as luck would have it they are already there.

"Hey Cap'. Guess what! We're all stocked up! Got ourselves food, medicine and vitamins. Plus this!"
Hook shows you her new bracelet with a strange glass globe on it.

"What's that?"

"A log pose. Murray says it's necessary to navigate the Grand Line. I'm actually getting excited now! Who knew joining a little squirt like you would get me this close to the pirates paradise?"

"Got some bad news. We got marines on the island."

"That's not surprising. They have a training facility here. But we threw them off our trail didn't we? For all they know we already left for the Grand Line right?"

"True. But we need to talk about some stuff. And we need to be careful. You got a bounty don't you?"

"Yeah but it's pretty small. Not many people will recognize me."

"How about we go out and get some dinner? We can talk about everything over a nice meal."

"Good idea. I heard about a good place with some sakura trees where we could have a picnic. Plus the local food is great! We could get some on the way there."

And that's what you do. You grab a variety of food, both stuff that catches your eye as well as dishes you saw served in the pub. You're especially excited about the steamed buns and want to share it with your friends. But actually getting to the trees proves to be quite difficult, an ordeal your crewmates curse you for. You need to climb a perfectly vertical mountain reaching well above the clouds just to get there and you each almost fall to your deaths at least once. The moment your heads poke over the mountain side however all of the animosity disappears.

The sight is nothing short of breathtaking. A forest of pretty pink trees welcomes you on the mountaintop. Such a grand display brings a tear to the eyes of your companions and you can feel all your worries melt away at their sight. The priest said something about a man being cured of a great illness just from looking at these trees. You believe that now. The crisp air, the otherworldly sight and the crystal clear springwater is definitely having an effect on you right now. Sitting down you start eating with your friends and feel bliss. All of your worldly worries melt away and you become aware of your entire body. It's so good it almost makes you want to stay here forever. But you got work to do now. After finishing your meal you tell them about your encounter with the marines as well as your story. They listen to it all intently and wait for you to finish before asking anything.

"Okay. So you got a sister in the marines? Okay that's a problem. And there is a vice-admiral. That's an even bigger problem."

"Doesn't matter Hook. We'll leave soon anyway."

"I just got one question Silver."

"Shoot Jaws."

"Were you the one who started the fire?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Guess you deserved a first and last big 'F you' at the very least."
Hook snickers.

"Is that a problem?"

"As far as I'm concerned slavers, especially child slavers deserve no mercy."
Jaws responds.

"Same. Don't care about a few bastards getting toasted. But I got something now. How many years did you spend there? And what made you finally leave?"

"I don't know Hook, I don't know. Guess over ten. And I'll tell you later. That's another story."

"Fair enough."

You continue with your little feast. Man these cherry blossoms are great. Even such a serious topic barely even makes you and the others budge as you keep sipping away your drinks and eat to your hearts content.
"Hey Silver! Drink drink!"

"Stop trying to give alcohol to the kid Marcella!"

"He's the captain! He should act like it! Besides in many countries you're considered adult if you hit 14! Silver is at least 15. And I wanna drink him under the table alongside you as well!"

"No thanks. Alcohol stinks."

"See? He's a good boy!"
Jaws swallows another one of the steamed buns.
"Man these are good! What's in them anyway? Never tasted anything like it!"

"I think the owner said... fish."
Jaws freezes at Marcellas response and drops the bun in his hand. Marcella sighs at this.
"Look I know it's a bit messed up but you already at some and said they are good? So why don't you stop being a big baby and keep eating?"

But this is not a matter of being picky as Jaws raises his hands to his throat. He seems to be choking while he's also trying to make himself throw up. He falls on his stomach and starts violently convulsing. This is enough to freak you out.
"W-What is going on?"

"I don't know! Maybe it went down the wrong hole or-"
Jaws starts foaming at the mouth.

Shitshitshitshit. This is bad. If we take him to the marines we either need to lie and get a good roll on it, or we need to out ourselves. The former would be more preferable. Although its still not a good option. There's no time to waste. You need a doctor and you need it now! Before you even realize it your body already transformed into that of a freaky half bat, half man creature and you quickly grab Jaws and carry him on your back. You order Hook to follow suit and she does with a little worry.
"Do you even know how to fly?"

"No. But even if I can't learn on the way down I can still cushion the fall!"

Without a moments hesitation you take the plunge with Marcella screaming on your back and Jaws foaming at the mouth. Your bold claim came true as you landed belly first despite all the flapping you did with your big wings. Despite the broken bones and the ringing in your ear you manage to stand up and confirm that no harm came to your friends. Good. With Marcella giving you a hand you start asking around for a doctor in the city. Sadly nobody seems to be able to help as they don't know who could help with a fish-man. But you do get one possible lead. They say there is a demon living in the streets bearing the name Omukade that can cleanse any poison but demands a terrible price in turn. With no time and no better options you seek it out. To your surprise the address they gave you lead to a noodle shop which still had the lights on despite being so late into the night.

After kicking down the door you find a half naked man with a shawl covering his face. He looks at you with the look of death in his eyes and points at a corner.
"That's... where you find the register."

"We're not robbers! My friend is dying and he needs help quick!"

"Phew. That's a relief. But I'm not a doctor. I'm a chef."

"PLEASE! They said you can cure any poisons! He ate some fish and fell ill!"

"Poison hmmm? Put him on the table."
He checks the throat and tongue of Jaws after cleaning it of foam.
"Swelling, frothing at the mouth. This isn't poison. It's food allergy. Hold on."
He goes back to the kitchen and brings out a wooden bowl alongside a tray of very odd looking ingredients. He grinds together offal, dried bugs including several spiders, frog skin, snake fangs and a strange purple liquid until they make a thick, bubbling, blue slurry.
"Feed this to him. Every last drop."

Jaws coughs at first, his body rejecting the foul liquid but you force it down and he goes limp like a dead fish a moment later. You angrily demand what just happened to him and the chef quickly enlightens you.
"He's paralyzed, his muscles are relaxed so he doesn't choke. And the poison he just ate is cleansing his body as we speak. He'll have diarrhea for five days at least but it should cleanse all the fish from his body. He'll live."

"Oh thank the lord."

"Now about my payment-"
A foul wind blows through the store, extinguishing all the candles illuminating the room. A chill runs along your spine as you wait for the demon to name his horrid price.
"That'll be 20.000.000 belly."

You faceplant.

I think... I see our future third crewmate.

"THAT'S the terrible price to be paid? You're not a demon you're just a stingy asshole!"

"Lady I just saved your friend. Better show some gratitude. And I didn't want to do it in the first place. You asked me. So pay up."

"B-But we don't have that kind of money."
You meekly respond.

"So? Go and get it. Take a loan for all I care. But pay up or there will be trouble."

"What kind of trouble?"

He gives you another death glare.
"I'll call the guards. And they don't like being bothered this late."

"Sorry. But isn't there some other way to pay you?"

"Hmmmmm. Actually boy there is one thing you can do... Strip."

"Okay."

"HELL NO!"
Marcella screams.
"What are you thinking you god damn weirdo! How about I just bash you over the head and be done with this?"

"I wouldn't recommend that. Somebody... might get hurt! Me."
He then walks over to you and examines your heavily injured body.
"Impressive. Such heavy injuries and you're still standing. Maybe, maybe you could actually do it. Okay! I have another offer. If you don't want to pay in money then you could do something for me. There lives a basilisk near the town. A strong beast not even the guards can handle. It has a very potent poison that I want. If you let it bite you, survive and come back to me I can extract it from you. That'd be a fine compensation."

Marcella looks at you.
"Well that sounds more reasonable. But you'd have to do that alone. No way I'm leaving Murray alone with this freak."

Hmmmm. 20 million huh? That's a lot of money. But you might be able to get it through various means. Or you could try your luck with that monster he wants.

"Basilisc you say? Fine I'll get it. But as you can see I'm pretty banged up. Can't you do something about it?"

"Damn it kid I'm a chef not a doctor! Best I can give you is a last meal before you bite the dust. But that's another 5 million."

"But this beastie is worth 20 million for you isn't it? What's a little meal to make sure you get it?"

"You're cheeky. But you're right. Fine. Wait here."
He goes back in his kitchen and comes out with what looks like an ordinary pork chop. But its acrid smell betrays its content.

"Poison?"

"I call it poison-chop. If you didn't gather already I'm a poison chef. I use poison to cook my meals. They enhance the flavor as well as the texture. Now try it. If you dare... to explore flavors such rich flavors."

You quickly shove the meat in your mouth and feel it melt in your mouth. It's so tender it becomes jelly which explodes into pure flavor in your mouth. You feel your body reinvigorated at least partially. You're still injured but now you recovered some of the strength you bled out. Thanking him for the meal you leave Marcella with him and head to the place he told you to. It's well outside the city borders inside the mountains. You find the beast in an area it clearly decimated. Broken trees, rocks and bones litter the area, all of which is leading to a cave. Clearly the creatures lair. Peeking in you see it.

The massive chicken like beast with a snakes head and white feathery tail is currently busy grooming itself to notice you. But that won't last long. Given its gigantic size and the number of skeletons littering its lair it's no wonder the guards of the kingdom can't really handle it. They probably just let it nibble some of the cattle or the peasants once in a while and leave it be. Luckily you don't have to kill it. Just get its venom. But how?

Moving back a bit to remain unnoticed you start thinking about the problem. This thing is obviously very dangerous so avoiding the fight might be smart. But then how do you get the poison? Well maybe if it bites something else and you can take that thing away from it you could get a sample without letting it bite you. The only question is what. Obviously something living and it needs to be both big and strong enough that the basilisk doesn't swallow it whole or simply bites it in half. Where do you get something that can survive the bite of this big chicken?

"Of course!"

You run off in the opposite direction with your newfound knowledge. Once you find the big animal you were looking for you beat it within an inch of its life using everything at your disposal and then drag its twitching body back to the cave of the basilisk. Sadly you left your crayons back on the ship so you can't write "bite me dummy" on it. But you can break off a large branch and fan the animal so its scent goes into the cave. The basilisk starts salivating immediately and it comes out jaw first to bite into your bait. Once its fangs sink into the animals flesh you jump out from the bush you hid in and kick it in eye. As it shrieks it lets go of the bait which you snatch up and run away with it.

Dragging the massive creature through the city you get a lot of attention from passerbies but you don't pay them any attention. Your goal is the noodleshop and when you reach it you knock on the door. The poison chef opens the door and he appears to be quite tired now.
"YEs what is i- HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I... This is not what I asked! What did you do?"

"I didn't want to get bitten by a poison chicken so I got another animal to get bitten. The poison is inside."

"Yeah. No SHIT the poison is inside! THIS IS A FUCKING BASILISK YOU IMBECILE!
You mean to tell me your solution to getting basilisk venom was to go kill a basilisk and use it as bait for ANOTHER basilisk?! How dense ARE YOU?"

From inside Hook shouts at the queer chef and laughs at him.
"You haven't seen anything yet! At least this time he made a plan! Usually he doesn't even bother and just causes some mayhem."

"Well whatever not like I can complain."
He takes out a knife and carves out a piece of the tainted meat before plucking it clean. He also extracts a fang to get a bit fresher sample. Then he goes ahead and licks the meat and squeezes the poison from the gland directly on his tongue.
"Whoa. Very tangy but tastes like chicken at the same time and that nutty aftertaste must be the petrifying agent. Unfortunately I can't work with this. Won't be able to replicate the unique taste without turning whatever I cook into stone. But at least now I know."

"That's good but what about Jaws?"

"He's awake now. But he's very weak. His bowels are churning as we speak. Normally I'd kick you out onto the streets but since you brought me so much meat I think I'll make an exception. Come in. I'll serve you some basilisk stew. And while I'm cooking you can explain how you beat a world famous beast with such ease."

So your first mate is going to recover. That makes you feel relieved.
"How are you doing Jaws?"

"C-Cap. Don't let me eat mystery food ever again."

"You got it! Now then... nightie night!"
You collapse and headbutt the table the fishman is resting on. The owner of the place comes and puts you on another table, spreading you like a slab of meat to examine you closely. He observes your accumulated wounds as well as the general composition of your body.

"Hmmmmm. Seems like he got a few extra wounds tussling with the monster. But his old ones are already healing."
He looks at Marcella and mostly ignores Murray to let him heal.
"I have so many questions. Like how he got this badly wounded in the first place. Did you jump off a cliff or something? Or get beaten by a Hasshoken user? But most importantly... how is it possible that a brat like him knows how to perform Life Return? Just who are you people?"

"We're the Silver Pirates."

"Pirates huh?"
An entire night passes before you wake up with a loud yawn. The chef that saved your friend gets up from his newspaper and gives you a bowl of surprisingly edible looking soup.

"Basilisk stew. Eat. There's plenty more where it came from."

You're understandably hungry. But this is the guy who charged you 20 million for soup last time. Granted it was healing soup but still.

You admit you are feeling a bit peckish so you agree without giving a hoot about the possible repercussions, such as being massively in debt again. So you courteously accept his offer.
"Food! Food! Food!"
You start slamming the table with knife and fork in hand only to get slapped with a pair of chopsticks.

The slightly ired chef then brings you a bowl of his basilisk soup. Apparently he has a massive cauldron filled with the stuff. So you're going to help him out with that. You consume bowl after bowl after bowl until you make a pretty little mountain of dirty dishes on your table. He watches in horror as you consume every drop of his savory creation.
"T-Thanks. I thought I have to dump that thing into the sewers. But you just ate up enough food that could keep my kitchen running for five days straight."

"BUUUUUUUUURP! No problem!"

"Now then. How do you plan on moving?"
He pokes your belly with his chopsticks, sending ripples through it. It's making you queasy. But you just take a deep breath and as you exhale your body shrinks like a deflating balloon.
"I thought so. That's Life Release. Without a doubt."

"Wifewhat?"

"LIFE. Release! You guys were at Sakura Hill weren't you? To think... some monks spend decades meditating there and learn nothing. But you just go up there and manage to attain inner awareness. How did you do it?"

"Don't know. The trees just told me."

"The trees. The trees told you. It's okay if you don't want to tell me but don't take me for a fool. I really don't like it when people think I'm an idiot..."
He gives you another death glare.
"It makes me sad!"
And he's now crying.

"But I'm not. I just listen to advice and sometimes things answer. Like trees."

"Okay. What does this table tell you?"

"That you don't get many customers."

"That's cheating. You just swiped your fingers across and saw the dust..."

"It's the same. You just have to know where to look and you can find answers anywhere."

He doesn't get what you're saying and just shrugs.
"Whatever. Anyway your friends are still sleeping and will for a while. The fishman couldn't get any rest and the lady watched over you two. So go ahead and occupy yourself for a while. After that I'd like you to get out of my shop."

"Okay."

You notice him sizing up the mound of filth your little feast spawned and roll up your sleeves as you walk up to him.
"Need a hand?"

He smiles and accepts it. Helping him take the plates into the kitchen you drop a few of them which makes him angry but just a bit. He found it acceptable that a few of the dozens of bowls break on their way to the kitchen. What he does not find acceptable is you dropping them after he hands them over to you after washing. It was his fault not specifying that after drying the bowls you were supposed to put them away and not just drop them. He got out his chopstick again and somehow grabbed you by the wrist and flung you across the entire room for that stunt. After your little beating you manage to clean up without any further incidents and sit down in front of the noodle shop, nursing your wounds.

He joins you and sighs. The two of you just stare at the streets as people pass by without as much as glancing in the shops direction.
"Wow. Your food doesn't suck THAT bad!"

"Shut it."
He seems to reflexively pull up his scarf at your little jab.

"Maybe if you lowered your prices you'd get customers."

"I don't get them anyway. At least I can squeeze a bit of money out of unknowing tourists like this. But even then my heart stops me."

"You always send people to fight monsters instead of paying? You're a weirdo."

"I don't want to hear that from you. And no. I send them out to get me exotic poisons. Were it not for my passion I'd be free of debt now."

"Debt?"

"I was found guilty of a crime and have to pay a fine. I'm not going to explain myself to anyone. Least of all a pirate."

"Why?"

"Can I still ask a question though?"

"Sure... I guess."

"Why poison?"

Despite not seeing his mouth you can tell he's smiling just from his eyes.
"Well. Let me tell you a story-"

Many years ago in the land of Kano a great calamity broke out. Over night people started getting sick. The doctors quickly identified the cause but it brought no salvation. Poison. All of the country's food supply was tainted from grain to fruits and vegetables. Even domestic animals and fish were not free of it. The taint was not visible, nor did it affect the plants or animals. But people who ate from them got very ill. There was a cure but it was expensive and there wasn't enough for anyone, nor did it provide immunity to a second infection. But there was one boy who couldn't watch as his home started to fall into ruin. He tried to do the impossible, to find a solution to the epidemic.

He toiled without rest for days only sleeping when his body finally collapsed only to start again. But his work did bear fruit. He managed to do what was thought impossible. He became familiar enough with the poison that he could detect it and as such he could cut it out. This meant he had to exhaust his ingredients, using only morsels but it was safe to eat. When word got out that his food was safe to eat the entire city lined up to him. He couldn't feed everyone at first but day by day he improved. He could cook a lot more and in time he was even capable of cooking the poison itself. The deadly venom became a delicacy adding to the flavor and altering the texture of his food. What was once a deadly pathogen ravaging his country became but another spice on his rack.

"They called me the master of poisons after that. Funny. I hated poisons at first. But after that... I had a dream. To eat every poison in the world! And then I'll eat death itself!"

"Pfffft. Kekekekekekek!"

"What's so funny? Do you think I'm kidding? This is science! A king once ate poison every day to develop an immunity to it! It's called mithridatism and it works! I'll learn to cook every lethal thing on the world and after eating them I'd be immortal!"

"I'm not laughing at that. It's just funny!"

"What is?"

"That you're still here. You say you want to taste every poison right? So why aren't you at sea yet and experience it all?"

"I... can't. I have a debt to pay."

>>
You grin.
"So? You spent so much time in your kitchen, saved a city when nobody else could. If you didn't exist there wouldn't be anyone to owe to. "

"A-Are you daft? Do you not know how the world works? If the Happo navy were to EVER find out I-"

"Nope!"

"Heh. You just love to make enemies don't you?"

"Rule No. 1 of being a pirate: My enemy is my teacher! And since I'm not very smart I need a lot of teachers! Teacher... OH POOP! I forgot I should be at the Hasshoken Academy right now! Hey Mister can I leave my crew here? I need to go to school very quick!"

"You study Hasshoken? Wait... they let you IN?"

"Yeap! Thanks for taking care of my friends! I'll come back soon!"
And you take off as fast as your legs can carry you.
"Come on go go go! I'm late! I'm late! I'M LATE!"

As you desperately try to go faster you feel your body getting lighter and smaller. Very quickly you change into a tiny bat and start flapping your wings out of instinct. To your amazement you take flight rather easily even if you almost fall out of the sky because of your uneven strokes. This way you can traverse the city much faster and get to the Hasshoken school in about 20 minutes. You stop a block away from the place and spend another minute to somehow turn back into human form. The guards let you in without a fuss and tell you that the headmaster is very annoyed by your absence.

On entering you start apologizing to him and he stops you.
"I'm not angry boy. I'm just annoyed. Not many people have the luxury of gaining admission to the academy and even less would have the gall to show up late. But what's important is you're here. So let us begin. I'm eager to see just how talented you are exactly."

He then takes you into the dojo where he presents you with several options and asks you to choose your preferred method of training. Normally he'd make that decision for you but since you're an outsider he doesn't really understand your capabilities.

Hey, i have an idea!
Let's go find a pirate or some other low-life with roughly the same body shape as our new cook, then stuff him so full of poison that after he dies, he's unrecognizable!

Then we just leave him to rot in the cook's kitchen, and everyone will think he poisoned himself to death!

"I choose fighting the strong guys!"

"Oh?"

"Last time I got a hit in with my karate. I want to do it properly this time!"

"Then so be it. But I'm warning you. This won't be like at the gates. That was your entry exam. This is will be a proper fight. A single hit won't get you out of it. And you almost died last time."

"Yeah but that was then! So let's go! Where are your strongest guys so I can kick their asses?"

The headmaster gets one of his best pupils to fight you. Judging by his look he must not give you too much credit. And who could blame him? You're an untrained newcomer about to face off against one of his senior disciples. In his mind he probably already signed you off as dead. And to some extent he was right to do so. Your foe is much like the guard was yesterday, very seasoned, very talented. Without your weapons or devil fruit you were hardly a match to him and he handily mopped the dojo floor with you. Literally, with your blood.

But no matter how many bones he cracked and how much pain he put you through you stood up. And it might just be the several concussions finally doing you in but you start to get what he's doing. Every time he hits you it feels like your whole body is shaking. That must be the trick to it like the manipulation of water is to Fishman Karate. Unfortunately you don't know exactly how they create these vibrations. So you need to get creative.

Standing up battered and bloodied you present yourself to your opponent and let him hit you in the jaw. After taking so many of his hits you manage to finally stand your ground and while his attack is still going you swing your arm at him. Your entire body, including your arm is reverberating from his punch so when you land yours he's technically getting hit by his own force. He staggers backwards as he spits up some blood. You smile.

"I get it now! All I need is a name... how do you guys do it? Oh I think I get it."
You walk up to your foe and put what you learned to a test. Raising your fists you start shaking them fast enough to replicate the sensation from before and unleash a flurry of blows at him.
"Hasshoken! Buken: Ranbu!"

The martial artist starts blocking your punches. He tries to do everything in his power to stop them from colliding but he's failing. As soon as you're about to land a direct hit on him he starts screaming and your fists stop.
"STOP! I YIELD! Y-You monster!"

"Afraid to get hit? Okay."

The guy gets escorted out but not very gracefully. Apparently cowardice is not looked at fondly here. Poor guy. But at least he got weeded out here and not on the battlefield. At the very least the headmaster seems pleased by this to the point that he can barely contain himself.
"I thought the next time I'd see such strength would be when the current Don would finally have children! But to think it's an outsider! I don't know whether to laugh or cry!"

"You sound disappointed gramps."

"Disappointed? Far from it. Boy if you agreed to stay here I'd turn you into something worthy of legends! I have no doubt you could even marry into the royal family!"

"No thanks."

"Hah. I see. Such strength can not be contained so easily hmm? But still I'd like you to consider staying a little at the very leas-"

"GRAND MASTER!"
Suddenly another guy storms into the room and fails to notice you. Or maybe he does but he doesn't recognize you through all that blood.
"You NEED to get rid of that outsider right NOW!"

"How dare you interrupt me now of all times! Don't you realize-"

"You don't understand master! Look!"
He spreads a paper before the old guy.
"He's a criminal. A pirate!"

He takes the parchment with shaking hands. But he doesn't seem angry or even upset. He just looks excited. He slowly looks up at the wall where pictures of various people are hung, you guess they are members of the dojo. One of them is a cone headed guy whose portrait is different from the rest as it's on the same type of paper that he's holding. Then he turns to you and mutters.
"Twenty. Twenty... million!"
>>

>>
>>4491593
That was only so they didn't recognize the ship. Then we let that guy take our pic.
>>
>>4491593
Masking the ship was *never* gonna stop us from getting a Bounty, wasn't even the point in doing it.
It was just a way to keep the Marines from immediately breathing down our necks.

Of course, now that we do have a Bounty poster whatever Marine personnel are in Kano Country are going to keep their eyes open for us so... we may have wasted the masking effort.

depends on whether the photographer sold us out or not.
and a smart marine might notice where we are from stuff in the background.

so, it's not 100% certain they know, but we should get a move on either way.
>>
20 mil for someone who stole (and has eaten, but they don't know it yet) a DF is not even that much.
If they knew all the shit we've done (like arson and poneglyph hugging) we would probably be sitting on at least 10 times that lmao.

>I'm getting way too hung up on what this translates to.
Eight Impacts Fist, Military Fist: Wild Dance
They don't overly complicate names. It's usually Military something. They seem to have only 1 attack with a fancy name

>Masking the ship was *never* gonna stop us from getting a Bounty
Pretty much. It's more to cover up the navy bits because that's how you get a lot of fucking attention from everyone when you go into port

>>4491606
Yeah you kinda willingly did that. If you didn't spare the marines and didn't let Arthur snap you into his cringe compilation you wouldn't have it for now

>>4491615
>I'm just surprised the Navy put two and two together so quickly
They can be surprisingly competent and quick when they want to. When someone is not bribing them or the higher ups are not purposefully trying to stop the mooks from doing their jobs

>>4491628
He didn't sell you out. He just saw your description and knew it had to be you so he sent in his photo. And Morgans is not too keen on sharing information that might prevent BIG NEWS from happening

>>4492132
>20 mil for someone who stole a DF
That's the primary reason but the devil is in the details
Don Krieg had a comparable bounty of 17 million and did similar stuff. He antagonized the marines and got his first ship by stealing it from them.
But here are the differences. He had an army and a lot of guns. You have 2 extra dudes. You strolled into a three-way between civvies, a pirate crew and marines. You butted out the pirates like you own the place and turned on the navy immediately. You did not kill them, instead tied up, blinded and dropped them off somewhere. Plus you have an already established small time pirate and a Fishman (not often found outside the Grand Line) following you

The WG issues bounties for two reasons. Either you're a psycho or you're competent. And they are much quicker to act on the latter because that's the one that's actually bad for them
>>
>>4492457
>Either you're a psycho or you're competent. And they are much quicker to act on the latter because that's the one that's actually bad for them

Are you still looking for devil fruit ideas? I've always wanted to play around with the idea a rope paramecia that creates and controls rope. The name Noose-Noose Fruit comes to mind. Would be super useful on a ship if you attached rope to everything and had one person helming the entire ship by themself.

Honestly I'm down for someone who does card tricks. We could make it that they also do tarot readings and are generally charismatic and/or a con man of sorts, lord knows we need a socialite in this group.

The headmaster looks at the student that just barged in and sends him away, stating that he'll handle this personally. Once the room clears he displaces his robe as he walks up to the wall lined with portraits.

"Yes. But it's not like I have a choice."

"That's good enough!"
He then smashes his head into a pillar again and you shout at him, asking if he's an idiot.
"Sorry. I have to make it look like you forced my hand. Now follow me!"
He takes you out of the dojo and into a broom closet of all places where he reveals a fake wall. You start salivating at the secret doors awesomeness.
"This tunnel leads out of the district. It was built to extract the children of nobles in case the dojo was attacked. You can use this to get out!"

"Cool! Then see you later gramps I gotta-"

"Just where do you think you're going? The place is full of traps. I'll guide you out!"

You nod as the old guy lets go of your collar and stops choking you. He leads you through the spike, poison and guillotine traps that just litter the place. You even get to see a few skeletons but you are stopped from taking their skulls as souvenirs. The exit leads to a big door that's apparently the lid of a big barrel standing in the middle of a market. The wine seller it belongs to is a trusted associate of the dojo.

"Well this is it. Thanks gramps!"

"Take care and-WATCH OUT!"

"Whoa!"

As you open the door a sword almost chops off your head but you manage to slide under it. Doing a flip you stand up and see several marines wearing big coats surrounding you. All ladies. And they are lead by the granny with the big coat. She looks like she's about to rush in and grab you. How did they know you'd be here?

"Stupid little boy. What have you done? Now I'm forced to discipline you. I hope you don't have any objections because it's a bit too late for regret."

"Hehe! Just one!"
YOu stare down the granny fearlessly as if you're standing up to her suddenly very imposing presence.
"IGOTTAGO!"

You make a mad dash to the side, jumping over pedestrians and market stalls alike, tossing anything and everything you get your hands on in the air. The sheer amount of chaos and confusion in both the civilians and the marines is enough to hold up your pursuers. The marine ladies tumble over the tsunami of garbage you tossed their way. They get so annoyed by it that they actually jump several feet into the air until it looks like they are flying. You freak out for a moment before thinking of something to do about them.
"Err... CATCH!"

You grab random passerby's and toss them into the air. They scream and wave their arms around. The marines stop as they are forced to catch them in their flight. And you laugh. At least until you see the granny running after you.
"Have you girls no shame? Forcing an old lady like me to run?"

"S-Sorry Tsuru-san!"

Freaking out you pick up the pace while screaming, leaving the ladies behind but try as you might the granny is not giving up. She starts catching up and reaches out to grab you. You better start turning into a bat and fly away soon.
"Woshu Woshu-"

You blink once and when you open your eyes somehow you're drenched in water and hung out to dry like a piece of clothing.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?!"

"Look at you-"
She starts tapping her shoulder.
"Doing stupid things like that. Making the sister that cares about you so much worried to death like that. Do you even understand the position you put her in? She'll be lucky if she gets out unscathed. Well not like it matters now. While you dry take your time to come up with an apology for her and a confession for the jury. With a little luck and two votes of confidence from she and I you might be spared the gallows. If you agree to becoming a marine that is."

"OY! GRANNY! What's this? I don't care if you're old I'll kick your ass when I get down from here!"

"What?"
>>
Old lady Tsuru just stares at you like you just insulted a celestial dragon which serves as the perfect opening for the two figures that are approaching you. A massive anchor comes crashing down next to you which forces Tsuru to jump back. You can't really turn your head to look but you can guess and your suspicion is confirmed when you hear their voices.

"Captain! We heard the commotion and thought to check things out!"

"JAWS!"

"Get me down from here Jaws!"

"Roger. Erm... how do we do that?"

The chef answers Jaws' question.
"She's a devil fruit user. She hangs out people to dry."

"Oh? So what if he gets dry? Does he become normal again?"

"Who knows? But I suggest you do it quick. I'll hold her off."
He then springs into action while Jaws uses his fishman karate to punch the water off of your body which causes you to spring back into the third dimension screaming "FREEDOM". Meanwhile the Chef is staring down Tsuru who seems reluctant to act.

"Gu Omukade. I heard what happened to you. It's tragic but if you continue to assist these pirates you'll only hurt your case."

"My case? You mean a debt I could never pay off..."

"You should be glad you were spared the gallows. You killed an navy official."

"Justice? I tracked down the men poisoning my country, I butchered them down to the last man. And the official you speak of let it all happen for MONEY!"

"You took justice into your own hand! Their lives were not yours to take! You must pay for what you did!"

"I DID!"
He removes his scarf and reveals his jawline where everything under the nose was apparently burnt by a strong chemical. And it's slowly dripping with some sort of purple stuff. As it lands on the ground it starts sizzling.
"So go ahead! Wash me. I'm sure it'll work out just fine!"

He seems quite mad. Mad enough to start scraping his jaw with his chopsticks to coat them in the purple stuff. But he held off Tsuru with his taunt long enough and that's all that you really care about. Free of your wet bondage you're free to act once more and transform into a half-bat. Jumping into the air you grab the shoulders of Jaws and Gu with your clawed legs you start flapping and somehow take off. Though it only results in a high jump which lets you get on the rooftops. Looks like you can't exactly fly yet in that form, much less carry 2 people. But you're getting there.

Meanwhile Tsuru is staring at you from afar.
"A new flying type?!"
>>
You turn back into a human as you and your pals run on the roof of the buildings.
"Wait you're a devil fruit user as well?!"

"Yeap. But I'm no good yet. I can only fly in regular bat form."

"Doesn't matter. We're close to the docks now. Once we're on we can set sails and get out immediately right?"

"We?"
You ask him.

"Of course. I'm dead if I stay here..."

Jaws then grumbles.
"Well whatever the case we better hurry. A storm is approaching."

With the roofs offering a convenient shortcut you manage to reach the docks with the marines still a few blocks behind. However a teensy weensy obstacle stands between you and the safety of Dauntless. Mary somehow found her way here. And as the dark clouds gather over you she seems adamant about stopping you in your tracks. She raises a curved sword and points it at you with tears in her eyes.
"Please... don't!"
Is all she can say.

Well she did hit Silver and was super pushy with him, even if she was the only nice one. I mean Garp loved his grandsons but boy was he a terrible fucking grandparent. Sorry Mary, but you're an asshole.

Plus Tsuru can't be far behind and it will look better for Mary in the eyes of the navy if she gets the shit beat out of her.

You look at her with her shaking hand, tear filled eyes and zero determination. She's in pain and most likely couldn't fight you even if she was ordered to. So you know what she wants. She wants to talk you out of piracy. Join the marines and whatnot. But becoming a nameless grunt? Obeying the orders of others? Never again.

Your men don't know her nor do they need to. Jumping forward you grab her by the shoulder and toss her off the pier and into the sea while screaming.
"OUT OF THE WAY!"

She doesn't scream, she doesn't wail. All you hear from her is the splash she makes and the sound of her surfacing. When Jaws notices your unusual treatment of her he asks who she was to which you reply "nobody important". Climbing on board the Dauntless you see a big pile of marines that have been beaten bloody by Marcella already.
"Come on jerkoffs we can't waste any more time!"

"Are we ready to set sails?"

"Of course Silver!"

"Then full sails! I'm driving! Jaws, show Gu the ropes! This'll be a rough one."

A bit after you leave port you spot two ships coming from the sides trying to encircle you. A third one leaves the dock in pursuit. Most likely that's the one with granny. But you do manage to sail past the first two leaving all three following your trail. They are big, bigger than your little caravel that's for sure and they pack more cannons as well. But their size is a big drawback as you are much faster than them. Even with all the cannon fire raining down on you it's still worth it for the speed.

"They are NOT giving up Silver!"
Hook screams as she's tying some knots.

You quickly survey the area. The coming storm would be perfect to loose them but it'd be dangerous for you as well. Alternatively you could just head straight for Reverse Mountain and hope that you loose them on the way there. Of course that'd mean they can freely aim at you. Or... and this might sound crazy. You could go into an even more dangerous territory where they wouldn't DARE to follow you.

"Hold onto your butts!"
You turn the wheel towards the coming black clouds and the ship follows your command.
"This is gonna be rough!"

"CAPTAIN! THE STORM IS APPROACHING FAST!"

"KEK! I AM the storm that is approaching! Brace for impact and pray to God that the marines handle it worse than us!"

Your crew starts screaming as they scamper to act. Marcella grabs some chains and binds them to the main mast as well as her waist and Gu's while the two men are trying to bring in the sails. But you quickly order them to stop. You want to do this with full sails. They call you crazy, reckless and an idiot. But it doesn't matter. Only the result does. Releasing yourself to the storm you let it carry the ship and though it threatens to tear your vessel apart you manage to ride the stormy winds which carry you farther and farther away from the marines. The cannon shower is replaced by grape sized droplets of rain constantly bombarding you as giant waves catch the steel balls mid flight.

"CAPTAIN! ROGUE WAVE AT THE STARBOARD BOW!"

"Thanks Jaws! I always wanted to ride one of those!"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

You manage to catch the large wave and ride it to safety while it also topples one of the marine ships. Judging by the speed at which the navy vessels shrink behind you and the trouble they are having thanks to the storm you'd say you lost them. Good thing too because as things start calming down you hear the ship creaking a bit too much for your liking. Not to mention all the panting from your crew members. Pansies. Can't even enjoy a near death experience on the high seas!

You jump down to the main deck and pat them all on the back.
"Good job everyone! We all live! Now let's get back to work and-"
BONK

"SHUT UP! We almost DIED back there you stupid little shrimp!"
Marcella shouts at you after beating you over the head.

"Is it always like this?"
Gu asks.

"No. It's usually worse."
Jaws answers.

"What the hell did I get myself into?"

You point at him and wag your finger.
"No backsies!"

But it looks like they are a bit agitated after your stunt. Still with the navy now hot on your trail you can't really rest. Not until you are certain you're out of harms way. But it also might serve you well to throw a little party to celebrate.

>Okay. Since you did so well how about we relax a bit?

We need to inoculate our crew to crazy, and the only way to do it is more crazy.

The way we're treating it, the Dauntless is going to have a very short service record. Are we sure the ship can take Reverse Mountain?

"Alright. You guys did well so you earned it. But let's wait until we pass the storm."

You come to an agreement and Gu goes in the kitchen to make some preparations while the rest of you more seasoned sailors make sure you don't turn the ship on its head. Once you're in the clear and on a direct course for reverse mountain however you all gather in the mess hall and start having your first party as a proper pirate crew and the last you'll have in the West Blue. But before you can begin Gu comes out of the kitchen looking visibly upset.

"Okay. Who was the donkey who bought all that milk? Half of the place is filled with milk jugs."
You raise your hand because milk is important for strong bones.
"I... adore you."

He presents you with copious amounts of snacks as well as a few bottles of liquor from his home. You start eating and the others start drinking. They seem to start warming up to each other as they now no longer have any reservations about Gu being here. Even Marcellas normally cold attitude is somewhat warmed up now. However you refuse to drink any alcohol. But as the party gets going certain topics you expected to pop up do.

"So uh... what's the deal with your names? You're Murray and you're Marcella right? So what's with those goofy names like Jaws and Hook?"

"Better get used to it poisonman. Because Silver is not good with names. Soon you'll have something equally ridiculous."
Marcella responds.

"I politely refuse. But if I may ask one more thing... I know why I'm here however I have no clue about you. What's your reason for being here?"

"Well I wanted to become the Pirate Queen. But then I lost my crew to one pirate and after that this snot nosed brat beat me down. Figured I'd have better chances following him. Now that I think about it though I'm not sure the Pirate Queen is allowed to follow the orders of someone. So I might rethink that."

"I'd rather not say."
Jaws speaks up when the attention is turned to him.
"But I want to use this trip to get stronger for when I return home and let's leave it at that."

"Fish-man Island huh? I only heard fairy tales of it. Must've been amazing growing up there."

"Yeah... It sure was..."

"Well I already told Silver but I can share it with you. I want to eat everything in this world including everything deadly and incorporating it to my cooking so I can both cook and eat death itself."
The other two burst out in a fit of laughter and start slamming the table. Gu seems a bit distraught at first until he hears their actual response.
>>
"Not bad! Maybe we need a crazy dream like that as well! Would make things more interesting that's for sure!"
Hook laughs.

"Hah! Yes! Just look at our Captain. Tell him Silver what your dream is!"

"I have no big goal like that. I just want to make a name for myself. A title I don't take from someone like Gold Roger but my very own that other people will want!"

"Hear that? Little fucker wants to surpass the Pirate King! Or at least become something equal to it! So yeah, we think you're a much better fit for him than us. We have to pick up the pace and become as crazy as you two."
Jaws laughs.

Marcella wipes her face clean to make herself more presentable and pours out four drinks, one for each of you and slides them over.
"Okay you fucking rejects! We're here on the precipice of insanity. After this point there is no coming back. Our lives and likely our fates will be sealed. And the only thing we can trust are each other. So how about this? We do a toast together. After that come hell or high water we help each other. Got that? Because the stories you hear of the Grand Line are some shit! Here Silver. I know you're a kid an' all but you can drink this once. You just gotta."

"That's right Silver. Drink with us!"

"You three are surely an odd bunch but I don't object to joining. What do you say Captain? Will you have a toast with us?"

You never got the fascination of people with alcohol. It's just some gross, foul smelling liquid. How can they even drink that? But this is something special so... maybe a bit won't hurt?

Well what's the worst that can happen? You take the cup of sake and put it together with the others saying "Cheers" and send it down. At first you almost choke to death as the burning liquid goes down your throat. Your coughing amuses your crewmates who call you a "lightweight" and other such remarks. Unfortunately you can't make a comeback other than-
"Hic"

Your eyelids feel like lead so you close them for a moment and when you open them again you see the others scattered around the deck with plenty of bruises and black eyes. Not to mention that the entire ship is now covered in willies crudely scribbled in crayon and both food and drinks have been spilled all over the deck. You must've been attacked by some very mean spirited bandits when you were sleeping but the others wouldn't say a word when they woke up and instead they just got to cleaning the ship without a word. Weird. So while you'd call the party an over-all success the others may not agree. But it doesn't matter for you're only a few days of traveling away from your destination: Reverse Mountain.

Your arrival is much less grand than you wished but the sight of the Red Line more than makes up for it. The massive mountain is so great you can't even see its top from the clouds.
"AAAAAWESOME! Is this it?"

"No this is just the Red Line, the mountain that cuts the world in half. If we follow the main current it should take us to Reverse Mountain, the only entrance to the Grand Line. But we have to be careful. Leaving the current means we either get pushed against the mountain and dragged under the sea or we end up in the Calm Belt. In both cases we die."

"Correction Marcella. You guys would get dragged down and drown. I'd get to enjoy meeting the most horrid monsters of the deep sea. So if we have to die let's do it in the Calm Belt alright? At least that'll be quick."

"Who cares? Let's go let's go!"

The others smile as you aim the ship straight at the current taking you up the mountain. This truly is the beginning of the Grand Line and a sign of things to come, a water canal going up the mountain with enough force to carry ships. Astonished you welcome the madness with open arms and ride up the stream to the top of the mountain. Tension and excitement builds as you rise until your heart is beating in your throat. The speed at which you're going is already fast enough but once you tip over it should be even faster downward.

As you reach the top you prepare yourself mentally by taking a deep breath.
"aaaa"
Finally the real start of your journey is here.
"Aaaaaa!"
No more games, no more playing, this is the land of dreams where fantasy is reality and sanity is best left discarded. You can finally-
"Why am I hearing screams?"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YAHOOO!"

As you reach the top your ship is shot into the air where the brief moment of euphoria is brutally murdered as you spot another ship flying right next to you. Your eyes pop out of your skull and the same goes for your crew as you collide mid air with the other ship. Luckily the force of Reverse Mountain is great enough that you don't fly off course and you safely land on the other side of the stream going down into the Grand Line. But the canal was DEFINITELY not built with two ships in mind and it's quite a tight fit as the other ship is grinding against you.

You need to do something about this and FAST or risk loosing the paintjob or worse, the ship.

You know you should do something about this to save the ship... But why should YOU have to do anything when it's these guys who rammed into you?! You're angry! Angry and furious! So you run over to the bow where the two ships are grinding against each other only to see a guy from the other ship doing the same. Placing one leg over the precipice of your ship you step on theirs and start shouting.

"HEY JACKASS!"
You stomp on the railing of his ship to get the point across.
"That's MY ship you're ruining! So move it!"

"WHAT? You're the one who came into us! YOU MOVE IT!"
He copies you and starts stomping on your ships railing while also rolling up the short sleeve of his shirt.
Who the FUCK does he think he is?

"Oh yeah? Well even IF that's true at least MY ship doesn't look like it was run over already! And since it's all the same to you, YOU MOVE IT!"
Now you roll up your sleeve and headbutt the guy. The two of you start growling and exchanging insults.

"Shorty!"

"Dirty hobo!"

"You smell like elderberries!"

"Your ship looks like a playground with sails on it!"

"WHADDIDYA SAY?!"

"YOU LOOKING FOR A FIGHT?!"
"YOU LOOKING FOR A FIGHT?!"
BONK

You both get clobbered over the head by your own crewmates and get shouted at.
"Luffy!"

"Silver!"

They point forward where a humongous black mountain is blocking your exit. This is not good. You're going to crash!

There's not much to be done! You have to act now. Both of you kick the others ship with enough force to knock it away. That means instead of each other now you're grinding against the mountain which is arguably worse. But your ship is more armored than theirs so it takes it a bit better. But after that you handle things quite differently. While they generally panic you start giving orders.
"I'LL TAKE THE WHEEL! GUYS DO SOMETHING WE NEED TO SLOW DOWN!"

Jaws start releasing the sails, hoping that they'll slow you down somewhat while Gu goes to the frontal cannons and starts firing them to use the recoil. Using your sails and the mountain you start slowing down whilst considerably damaging the ship. As you get closer and closer you finally realize that the "mountain" you're looking at is not a mountain at all but a whale. It's gigantic! Bigger than anything you've seen before aside the Red Line itself. It's even bigger than some islands! You can NOT collide with that!

"MURRAY! GIVE ME A HAND!"
As you're reaching the end of the slide Marcella creates a MASSIVE hook she intends to jam into the very end of the mountain. But she needs Murrays strength to hold onto it and use it to make a sharp turn. They succeed while you're aiding them with the wheel and you manage to drift around the humongous whale. Once you're in the clear all four of you wipe the sweat off your brows. That was TOO close.

BOOM

You look over your shoulders and freeze in place when you see what happened. Those assholes... shot the whale. With a cannon. Just so they can stop. And they STILL hit it. And now it's opening its mouth.
"BUOOOOOOOOOOOOOH."
And now your eardrums are exploding.
>>

Nice. We gotta be the Gary Oak to Luffy's Ash Ketchum. We are even named Silver tho we are not as edgy.
So, if we had chosen to rush to the Grand Line or go into dangerous territory, would we still have clashed with the Going Merry?
>>
KEK
But also damn I just realized we're going to speed up the death of Merry.
>>
>>4495947
You would've encountered them in some capacity no matter what
If you didn't party you would've done the Laboon part alone and likely get vored. The Strawhats would show up when you're done with the whale. If ypu took the most dangerous route you would've used a whirlpool to slingshot yourself into the Calm Belt and arrive at Laboon by the time the SH's were done with the whale

>>4495968

Strong World is great it has a real early One piece feel with it's worldbuilding and side character.
Z is soft canon and is amazing feels and great fights, it's specific theme song is an old man singing a lullaby so and it hits me like Bink's Sake.
Gold and Stampede are soft canon as well they have great animation and fights but other than some exposition on Roger through Bullet are just fight fest spectacles. I actually don't remember anything about the characters in Gold but it was gorgeous and we got to see the Strawhats in lounge wear so it's worth it.

The only other one worth watching is Baron Omatsuri and damn is it. My personal favorite One Piece movie even though it is completely non-canon. It has old One Piece vibes, creative action scenes feels and some great horror elements.

The suck suck fruit can turn someone into a vacuum man. There can draw things towards them and pull em into a pocket space from openings made at points across the body. (like wind tunnel from inuyasha) The pocket space can be finite or infinite as the writer decides. Can also create suction against sealed planes, allowing one to cling against surfaces.
May have slight overlap with the pulling power of the yami yami no mo, but probably ignorable

The stop stop fruit allows one to become a stop-man. Despite expectations, the stop (probably) is not within the power set offeref by this fruit. Instead, it can instantly remove all kinetic energy of objects making contact with the user. At greater mastery the user can stop molecular motion, functionally reaching absolute 0 in an incredibly thin veil around him.
May be too much of a superior noro noro fruit.

Curse my phone posting. Meant to explain that "time-stop" is probably not a feature of the stop stop fruit.

The sea rages as the last of the survivors are brought up from the wrecks. The all-female marines under Tsurus leadership are quick to report their progress.
"That's all of them Vice-Admiral!"

"Any casualties?"

"We're still getting their names ma'am but by numbers alone it appears to be zero!"

"Good work. Once you round them up send them to the infirmary. Get them a doctor and some dry clothes. I got some reports to make."

Tsuru then goes back to her private quarters slightly peturbed. But if her crew saw even that much from her they'd surely start panicking. After sitting down in her chair she pulls open a drawer and takes out her own personal Den Den Mushi and starts dialing on it.

"Tell me Garp. Do you remember my Washu-Washu ability?"

"Of course. How could I ever forget?"

"Well. Do you remember it ever failing? Do you remember when I couldn't cleanse the heart of a man?"
There is a suspicious lack of an answer on the other end.
"I... met a man. A man who along many others I'm sure will represent the newest generation of pirates. And I'm afraid what we feared most has come to pass. We got too old Garp. I don't think we have what it takes anymore. You and Sengoku still got some spirit but I'm not sure how long I can keep going. Especially if it'll happen again."

"Tsuru... That's why you prepared. If we can't then we must entrust things to the next generation. That's just how things work. Hell I even got myself a pair of whippersnappers just for such an occasion! They are still just a pair of milquetoasts but I'll make a man out of them in no time don't worry! In the mean time you should ask someone to help you out with our little "problem" if you catch my drift."

"I already called Hina. She's on the case. I wanted Smoker boy first but it seems like he caught himself something to obsess over. I wanted to go after him myself but I know Sengoku wouldn't allow it."

"Or if not him the higher ups..."

"Yes."

"Well whatever you do Tsuru make sure you take care you hear me? And don't worry. We'll get over this like always!"

Ok so, I posted pic related on the quest, joking about the homoerotic undertunes of the relationship with our rival ala Naruto/Sasuke and next thing you know the rival was kind of making moves on us? Then people started voting to escalate the situation but there werent that many voters so it was tied every time, and every time the qm rolled to choose the vote and it always landed in the gay option, it was a thing of magic. So we had a sloppy makeout-fight and a heart to heart of sorts with our rival who btw is then on Orochimaru's side. Then Konoha Crush happens, Sakura gets an awful level 2 cursed mark which is where the fat in "fat lesbian" comes from and after a bit I manage to get Sakura to confess to the rival now on our side and the vote was kind of close which was rare since the quest usually didn't get that many votes but of course people would come out to vote for that. After that the few people that were left voted to fuse with a piece of Orochi's soul in the cursed mark and I left. Then one thread later the quest is dead, a thread called Sakura Quest Redux comes out with the QM outlawing yurishit in his quest and cursing the existence of degenerates like he didn't write all that shit, and other people telling him to go do something else. Needless to say that the Redux never took off. The quest also had issues besides the shitshow with the yuri but I'm not getting into that.
So yeah, that's how I kind of killed a quest.

I can't take all the credit, the QM and the autistic playerbase made sure the quest would eventually fall into oblivion, I just sealed it's fate.
I wouldn't worry about this quest, Goop is a bit out of our range but I may try something just to keep you on your toes.

The whales bellowing stops but not the ringing of your ears. It's frightening that such a creature even exists, one that could carry an island on its back and one that can make the sea quake with just its voice. It even took a cannonball and it got about as much of a reaction out of it as a bug bite gets out of you. You are confident in your ass-kicking ability but you're afraid your feet just aren't big enough for such a monster.
"What is that? It's huge!"

"An island whale-"
Hook answers.
"They typically live in the West Blue but they are very hard to find and people tend to avoid them for obvious reasons. Even if they are typically very gentle. Though... those scars on its head are a bit concerning."

Jaws then starts shouting at you.
"Are you two done sight seeing yet? Marcella! Other guy! Help me check below deck for any leaks! If our little maneuver damaged the ship we need to fix it!"

They scurry down the stairs leading to the belly of the ship while you stay upside and watch the whale for any movement. Judging by its eyes it hasn't even seen you yet. Good. The longer it doesn't pay you any attention the better. And you can't forget about those baka-pirates either. You got some bad vibes from some of them and shooting the whale proved your gut right. They seem to have gotten away relatively free from the encounter, only their stupid-dumb looking goat figurehead broke off. Lucky.

"HEY YOU! STUPID WHALE! YOU BROKE MY SPECIAL SEAT!"

What is that dumb monkey going on about? Wait... did his arm stretch just now? Oh. Oh no. Your eyes go pale and you start crying in pants-staining fear. The whales eyes move slightly downward. Yeap. It can definitely see you now. And it's pissed that it got punched in the eye just now.

Your reaction to this event is best summarized as feeling every emotion at once and screaming at the sky asking "WHY". But you don't have much time to process this brief venture into enlightenment as you need to do something about this and quick. After running to the wheel and shooting the sails free you pray to god that the sails will behave even without being properly tied down. But luckily as the whale charges it pushes a mighty wall of wind in front of it which you manage to catch and ride to safety after doing a drift. Away from the gaping mouth of the beast you get to watch as it swallows the ship in a single bite like a snack.

After a sigh of relief your tears stop coming out and you manage to speak coherent words.
"HOLY SHIT! THIS GUY IS EVEN DUMBER THAN I AM!"

"What's all this racket?"
Your crew members pop out from below deck looking mighty pissed.

"WHAT THE HELL SILVER? You drive like a drunk dugong!"

But you can't properly explain things to them instead all you can do is mutter.
"Whale! Big! Mouth! GULP!"

"W-Wait... where are those idiots?"
Marcella wonders.
"Don't tell me! Holy shit did the whale... EAT THEM?!"

"It looks docile now. They probably pissed it off again. Idiots."
Jaws observes.
"Well better not mourn the ones inviting death. Let's finish our repairs and get out of here before that whale decides they tasted pretty good..."

"Hold on-"
Gu points at the top of the whale then to the side
"It appears it didn't do a very thorough job. That boy with the straw hat is still alive. And there appears to be another ship nearby. Odd."

"Ignore them. We have no time for fools like that. Right Silver?"
Marcella looks at you.

You don't want ANYTHING to do with that Straw hat guy. He might do something stupid again. But that ship looks promising. And it looks deserted. Maybe you can find something on-board. Perhaps even materials for the repairs.

You can choke the monkey later. Now it's lootin' time
>>
"That ship looks promising! And it's empty! Maybe we can find some goodies on board. Or even stuff to repair the ship with!"

"Huh. Not a bad idea actually."
Jaws agrees.
"Though I'm sensing a pattern here. Will we loot every ship we come across?"

"Only the ones we can. Now then! HIPPITY HOPPITY YOUR SHIP IS MY PROPERTY!"

You sail closer to the caravel docked nearby and board it after confirming nobody's here. Either they died, left it alone or abandoned it. Whatever the case it's yours now. It has a queer little flag with a skull, two crossed rapiers and wings. Not a jolly roger you recognize from the bounty photos though. You ransack the place and find it dreadfully barren. Barely any food on board and no loot worth caring about. Not even any maps or books to get excited about. Only some male and female clothes in the two rooms it has. But there are some wood planks, nails and other stuff. Perfect for reinforcing your ship without sacrificing your own supplies. Oh and there is a Den-Den Mushi which means now you have a pair of those

But the looting takes time as you search every nook and cranny of the place in search of anything valuable. And after a while you hear Jaws calling for you as he found something whilst guarding the Dauntless. When you return he's holding a man and a woman by their collars. They appear to be wet and unarmed.
"P-p-p-pirates? What are we going to do Miss Wednesday?"

"I don't think there's much that we can do Mister 9..."

"So it appears it's bye bye, baby for both of us!"

You start scratching your head.
"Is this your ship then?"

"Y-Yes mister pirate! So erm... if you would be as kind as to give it back to us? There's not much here and even less on us B-BUT as you can see I am of noble blood so if you'd be as kind as to return it I'd handsomely reward you back in my home!"

"What are you saying?"

"We lost our log pose didn't we my dear Miss Wednesday! These gentlemen haven't harmed us and they clearly are skilled enough to have one! So please? Would you be as kind as to take us back home?"

Hmmmm. Tough choice. Help random strangers you know nothing about... or not?

"Jaws. Throw them overboard."

"Eh?"
"EH?"
They seem utterly surprised by a pirate of all things not agreeing to their request. Where do they think they are anyway?

"Aye aye sir."
With a mighty hurl he throws the two of them back where they came from and dusts his hands off.
"Good call. I think I saw them with bazookas before they let go of them so they wouldn't sink. But that's surprisingly not like you Silver. Anything wrong?"

"Their ship sounds like bananas and sand. I don't like it."

"Sounds-"
"Like-"
"Banana?"

"Yeap! Got everything we want? How about the clothes?"

"I'd look like a whore in them."
Hook speaks up followed by Jaws and Gu.

"Too small for me."

"Too queer for me."

You finish looting anything not nailed down and worth taking before finally sinking the whole ship in tandem with Jaws and the liberal use of Fishman Karate. As you take things back to your own ship and put the loot away however Gu asks the thing that's been bugging him for a while now.
"So how do we distribute this?"

"Everyone gets an equal share, unless you don't want to. I get twice as much but half of it is really the ships share. So we don't have to worry about buying supplies and repairs."

"Fair. But there's four of us, five with the ship. We divide anything five way and it might be sufficient but any more than that and there will be grumbling. And I assume we'll get more people."

"Yeap! That just means we have to go after the bigger loot!"

"Bigger loot huh? Sounds scary..."

You get interrupted by Marcella who steps between you and puts her wrist in your face.
"Looks like we got a match. Do we just follow this?"

"Correct."
Jaws nods.
"There are seven routes on the Grand Line. The pose just locked on one of them. If we follow it the thing should lead us through the entire line all the way to Raftel. Though obviously only 1 man ever did that. And it'll be tough."

"Does that mean we can only go in a straight line? LAME!"

"Not necessarily Silver. We can go off the route and it'll lock on to the one we enter. But navigating without a pose is nearly impossible. You'll see why very soon. So Captain? Are we ready to set sail?"

You grin.
"Crew! FULL SPEED AHEAD! Come hell or high water we ride the Grand Line now!"

With those brave words you set out for the true start of your adventure. Famous last words they were. Shortly after your ship set sail you were greeted by the most bizarre and unbearable weather you've ever encountered. Every type of weather imaginable from rain to drought, snow to heat wave, sunny to storm, foggy to blizzard happened all at once. Things could change by the minute drastically. You had to sail under these conditions with powerful random winds turning your ship around and throwing you off course for no less than six hours. It wouldn't have been so bad if you could predict and prepare for the inevitable change but it all happened randomly.

Only once those dreadful six hours passed did you get any rest with something akin to regular weather. The sun is now shining but occasionally powerful winds buffet your ship and bring rain, throwing you off course. But now you're vigilant for such things and Hook is starting to get used to always keeping an eye on the log pose. So now you can all rest a little bit. Jaws and Gu are laying on their backs with their tongues sticking out and Hook is sitting in a lounge chair with today's newspaper lying on her face. Meanwhile you're laying on the wheel with the handles poking your ribs. But you're still going straight for the time being.

"Jaws... What the hell was that?"

"I have no idea... The weather is bad on the Grand Line but not THIS bad!"

"I heard the first stretch is the thing gatekeeping most pirates out of this place."
Gu speaks up.
"The seven islands are so close at the start that we feel all seven of their climates instead of just two or three. But hopefully we're through the worst of it."

Murray then takes back the reins.
"It feels like we're heading to a spring island first."
>>
You get up from your oddly comfy resting position and let your ribs rest a while to check out the island but... there's nothing. Apparently you're still several hours worth of traveling away from the actual island itself. So you grip the wheel with one hand and immerse yourself in some reading to pass the time. That bible sister Ann gave you came in quite handy. Sadly it's not quite as enthralling as bounty posters, mainly because of the lack of any pictures but it has some kick-ass stories in it. Like some guy beating another guy with a rock and getting super powers from god for his troubles. What a swell guy.
>Knowledge +

But as you keep reading your eyes slowly start glazing over and decide that's enough big words for today. Unfortunately that was about fifteen minutes worth of occupation so you need something else to pass the time with. You see that the others somewhat collected themselves and each of them withdrew to their own little area. Jaws is fishing with his massive anchor, Gu (you really need a name for him) went back in the kitchen, good thing too because you're starving and finally Marcella seems to be doing some reading of her own. You could bother one of them or occupy yourself some other way. There seem to be some birds flying above the ship. Birds are cool, right?

"OY! HOOK! Take over for me a little okay?"

"Sigh. What now?"

"Me bored!"

Disgruntled she moves over to your place and holds the wheel while you go and do your thing. Running up the main mast for like two steps you jump off from it and turn into a bat to fly up. Though your frantic flapping doesn't produce the most graceful of flight it does suffice and you get up to the crows nest where they are circling around. Tipping your tricorn with your free wing you greet them.
"Hello there fellow birds! Can you share your ancient wisdom with me?"

One of the odd looking birds looks at you. It's quite unlike any bird you've seen before, granted you've seen very few of those. But this one is especially strange because it has a wide face, no beak, and no feathers except on its wings which look like a chickens. Instead it looks like some weird lizard that can fly. He looks very funny! But he doesn't seem too bothered by you and neither do the others that look similar to him, read: not at all bird like.

As they keep flying however you get to have a very close look at the way they fly and finally start piecing together the intricacies of it. To put your observation to the test you turn into a bat hybrid and see if you can stay in the air. For the first time you actually don't fall face first into the ground and manage to stay afloat though it's still pretty wonky. At the very least now you're confident in your ability to fly as a regular bat.
>Flight get

As you start grinning from ear to ear you also notice something. From your new vantage point you can see the island off in the distance.
"LAND HO!"

Your scream scatters the birds and sends them flying back to the island they came from. Following their lead you arrive at a nice little beach surrounded by a cliffside from both sides. It seems like the perfect place to land so you order the crew to take you in so you can explore. The island appears to be uninhabited as there are no docks nor any buildings visible anywhere. Yet as you get closer you notice a sign with a skull on it, meaning this is a pirate island, meaning it's awesome! But there are some letters written next to it. Learning from your mistake you carefully read the message. The letters are faded and your reading skill is still quite crappy but you do manage.

"War-ni-ng... Don't dock a-ny-where else!
Huh. Wonder what that means."
Just as you ask that you feel the island and the sea rumbling around you. Out of nowhere the cliffs begin MOVING! One of them sinks under the waves while the other lifts up into the air. And they both rotate in the same direction.

You each scream at the top of your lungs.
"T-THE ISLAND FLIPPED ON ITS HEAD?!"

An exact copy of the same post can be seen on the beach, meaning there's one on both sides. For this is a special island. The island that rotates around its axis once every 24 hours. The island where every animal evolved to be capable of surviving both on land and underwater! Flip-Flop Island!

So if Silver can't differentiate things what does he classify a platypus as? A headache?
>>
>>4502354
For now the only two things he can diferentiate properly are "Things that you can eat" and "Things you can't". People belong in the latter but he doesn't really know why.
And he's aware of concepts like "Bird" and "Fish" and he has seen examples of them but ask him what their definition is and he wouldn't know it.
So depending on what part of the platypus he sees first it'd be something else. If he saw its bill it'd be a duck, therefore a bird. If he saw its fur then it'd be a beaver therefore mammal

"WHOOOOAAAAA! Did you guys see that? The island did a flip! The ISLAND did a FLIP! That's so cool! Let's go and explore it RIGHT NOW!"

Jaws promptly grabs you by the collar and stops you from jumping off the ship.
"Hoooold your horses."

"Good catch Murray. Can't have idiot captain kill us immediately."
Hook steps up and points in your face.
"Listen here mister! We need to discuss how to handle things from here on out! The Grand Line is no joke and by the looks of it neither is this island! So we need a plan."

"O-kay..."
Your enthusiasm disappears and you become one sad boy.

Hook then takes over as the de facto leader and starts assessing the situation.
"So our log pose will have to adjust to the magnetic field of the island. We don't know how long that'll take so we need to make sure we can last however long we need to. Given the odd nature of the island we can assume there are no people living here so we'll have to make do. First we need to find a source of fresh water and then some food. And we can just wait on the ship until we can set sail again."

"Objection. That post warning us not to dock anywhere is clearly man made. It's possible that people live here."

"Don't kid yourself Gu! How could people live here if the island keeps flipping on its head?"

Then Jaws joins in.
"Not to mention if a flip happens and we're too far away we're in trouble. I need at least one arm to swim and we have three of you. Even if you weren't devil fruit users I couldn't carry all of you back to the ship from the middle of the island before you drowned."

As they keep arguing about how to proceed you become INCREDIBLY bored. Time to put an end to this.

"Okay I decided! We'll go and look for the guys who put up the sign! But we should leave someone behind to guard the ship. I will go of course! Anyone else?"

"I would like to go. Sea creatures produce a variety of toxins. I'd like to examine what kind of venoms would such an environment create... for cooking of course."

"Toxin? Venom? Those sound like cool names. Anyway sure! Jaws you'll come as well! We need someone to pull us out if we drown! You should start with him when that happens. I got good suck! And Hook you get to guard the ship. If anything happens just scream like a girl."

"I AM A GIRL!"

Disregarding her you set out for the island. Though you hate getting your shoes wet it's offset by the sense of ADVENTURE awaiting you on the island. And the place is truly bizarre. Palm trees live together with corals and other sea based life whilst the animals share traits between fish and a variety of other animals. Birds have a smooth skin and a thin veil on their wings instead of feathers. Mammals all have webbed feet and are often scaley. And lizards have both gills and wings, these were the "birds" you've seen up in the sky. And of course everything is incredibly vibrant in color. Blue, red, pink, orange and green are all found on almost everything. Quite a change from the mostly browns and greens you're used to.

"This place is so strange. Usually colors like these are found only on poisonous animals as a warning. But I doubt everything here would be toxic..."

"Yeah don't touch anything. I'm more at home in the water but this is throwing even me off."
Gu and Jaws are discussing the island and its strange inhabitants while you're busy carelessly rummaging around in the thick undergrowth looking for more weird animals. When you spot one you smile with glee and pop out from behind the corals to wave at the others.

"GUYS! LOOK WHAT I FOUND! It's a shark! That's a wolf! A shorf!"
>>
The creature does indeed look like a shark with four legs except it's far larger than either of those things. The huge beast bursts out from behind you, scaring your crewmates enough to put them on guard.
"Can I keep it?"

But as it turns out they worried for no reason as it falls to the ground lifeless in a few seconds. When looking at it you see a hole in its head and a wooden shaft sticking out of it. Somebody shot this thing and now you're mad! Looking up you see a figure wearing clothing made out of sea shells and a weird mask covering their face. Looks like an octopus. They have a large bow in their hands.

They jump down to your level and you are ready to kick their ass.
"YOU! YOU STOLE MY SHORF I-"

But they completely ignore you and walk up to Jaws so they could kneel down before him.
"Master Fish-man. We've been waiting for you my lord. I am Millip. I will lead you to our village."

"Oh erm, well! That's mighty kind of you! Hahaha! But really I'm not such a-"

"Please great lord. Don't be so modest. Once your servant calms down I'll escort you back home."
Looks like Jaws is a bit embarrassed by this treatment. But you don't appreciate being ignored, nor someone pissing you off.

Though your fists are clenched in anger you swallow that bitter pill and still your hands. He's not a threat to you but the second he becomes one you'll feed him a knuckle sandwich with 4 different kinds of cheeses and 6 different kinds of meat. As he leads you to his village you even go up to Jaws and quietly tell him that you'll kick his ass later. But he protests that these people are friendly and they must be very nice people. Whatever.

Turns out their home is relatively close. They all live within caves found under the mountain at the center of the island. The guy says that there are two entrances, one for each side of the island and the side which is facing the sun changes every 24 hours. He doesn't tell you WHY it flips though but whatever. Strangely the mouth of the cave does not actually reveal much, instead you have to go down a slope until you find some sort of a bubble which you can pass through without much effort. There is a second bubble immediately after it which is more solid and requires a door to pass through. Apparently the smaller orb slides around inside the big one so even if the island flips on its head the settlement remains in the same position. But according to him the daily change is still a bit annoying but not something you can't get used to. When you finally step in the town you see massive corals with holes carved into them, which apparently serve as buildings for these people.

"Great lord of the sea. Please wait here while I announce your presence to the town. It's not common that we can house such great guests. If it's okay we shall hold a feast in your honor. You'll be able to wait there while we prepare our tribute."

Jaws can't help himself but smile and wave Millip off saying he doesn't need such a thing. He's loving his current situation. Meanwhile Gu leans over to you and whispers in your ear.
"You have any idea what's going on?"

"Nope siree."

"Shouldn't we say something?"

"Probably?"

"Well will you?"

"I don't know."

Considering some of the islands in Paradise are still tame beyond stagnant seasons, how about a spring island that is stuck in a medieval english kingdoms culture. Knights, jesters, lords and dukes and such. Might be a nice place to pick up a swordsman.
>>

Islands in the grand line are not held back by stupid things like "logic" or "time period"
One island can have cyborgs while another is stuck in the stone age or even earlier
No such constraints exist so a medieval kingdom is guaranteed to exist
Elisabelo might come from one

"Jaws..."
You look at your first mate who's blushing so hard his head is turning orange.
"Do you have any idea what he's talking about?"

"None what so ever! But this is great isn't it? I thought we'd only ever visit horrid monster islands. Looks like fortune favors the bold and we were blessed with such a fantastic first destination!"

You're not surprised by this response. That's about what you expected. However Millip definitely was and now he's giving you shifty eyes. Looks like something's not right in this place as you suspected. Well time to dig a little deeper.
"And you. Octopus-dude-"

"Millip."

"I like this place. It looks cool! And it takes balls to live on an island that flip flops around. Can you tell me more about it? Like how you came here?"

"You don't know? Hmmmmm."
It looks like you said something you shouldn't have. Now he probably thinks you're suspicious.
"Well I'd tell you but you wouldn't believe."

"No. There's nothing I don't believe."

Jaws momentarily stops in his childish glee and nods.
"That's true."

"In that case then a brief history wouldn't hurt I suppose. Our tribe originates from a different island here on the Grand Line. We left our brothers and sisters because a great plague ravaged our island. We sailed for many moons until we found Crabbo and he invited us to live here on him. We settled down with his help and named it Flip-Flop Island."

"Crabbo?"

He taps the ground with his bow.
"All is Crabbo. By his grace we live here. And we live in harmony with the land itself."
He then turns to Jaws.
"But I'm surprised master Fish-man. Did you not inform your servant about the nature of your visit? Well it doesn't matter for the tribe. As long as you help us heal Crabbo of his blight. Now if you'll excuse me-"

He then takes his leave and exposes you to the rest of the town. The folks here seem to be really interested in you as they give you passing glances as they pass by and several of them are peeking at you from nearby windows. A bit of time later a messenger arrives stating that the village is very grateful for your presence and the banquette is being prepared. He asks you kindly to follow him where the feast will take place.

"Go ahead guys. I gotta pee real bad."

"Oh in that case the bathrooms are-"

"No thanks."
You cut off the guide that was sent for you.
"I pee where I want!"

You leave them without another world and check the place out for yourself. Maybe that way you can stop being nervous. People misunderstanding a bunch of stuff is okay. Not hearing the island itself speak is another. You hear the mountain but not the island. And these people. All of them are wearing clothing made out of sea shells or other sea stuff but they also cover their upper body with large capes and other covering clothing. Weird. You should investigate a bit... But first! Food! It's silly to buy food when there is a feast going on but THIS is the food you want NOW!
"Hey old lady! What's that? Fish?"

"Oh you're not from here? It's cat-fish. A large predatory cat that looks like a fish. Try some!"

You get a cube of seared meat and when you bite down on it meaty juices gush in your mouth. It's so yummy that you immediately buy all the meat she's cooking and start eating it all.
"Good ain't it sonny? Most people eat cat-fish for its liver. I'm glad all that good fresh meat doesn't go to waste!"

"Fresh? You mean you hunted it?"

"Oh no. Not me. My daughter is- Oh! Hagetaka you're back!"

"Hi ma. I caught a merboar this time. Make sure you- Oh. Looks like we have a customer? Welcome."
You try to respond to her but your greetings and your amazement at her huge catch get lost between the meat chunks in your mouth.
"Swallow before you talk!"
She swats you on the back and almost makes you choke to death.

After you drink a bit of water you sit down and talk with the old lady and her daughter for a bit. Apparently she's one of the best hunters in the village but she mostly just hunts for her mom to sell stuff. She tells you about how they always hunt when the flip happens as that's when animals are most vulnerable.
"But that's enough about me. What are you doing here? Are you here alone?"
You tell her you're a pirate and that their people are throwing a feast for you right now. Her mother almost falls on her back but she doesn't seem too shocked. Surprised to be sure but she's not scared.
"Oh wow. So you're the guys here to help Crabbo huh? I... I'm sorry I didn't recognize. Certainly didn't expect a human to show up."

"Why's that?"

"Well aren't the Sun Pirates all fish-men? But I guess a Shichibukais crew could have anything in it."
What did she just say? Oh.

You ask the old lady for more food just as you smell the merboar being done (enough) and start chewing on the very rare meat whilst giggling to yourself. Sun Pirates! What do they think you are an idiot? There isn't enough water on the sun for pirates there! Obviously those don't exist. But you're still curious about something so you stop chewing just long enough for them to understand you.
"And what's this about Crabbo then? I keep hearing it but I don't know what that is."

"How don't you-"

"Come on Hagetake. Don't be so angry. Be patient with the slow boy."

"Sigh. Fine. Okay so you know our island? Flip-Flop Island? Crabbo invited us to live here."
You nod.
"Crabbo is a giant basking crab that's so old an island grew on his back. He told us we can live on him as long as we behave and don't destroy the island and its animals."

"Wait we're on a big crab? I always wanted those! I once found a coconut crab but it didn't taste like coconut... But crabs are still cool though!"

"Ugh. Ma can I leave? I think I have urgent hunting business anywhere else."
But before she could leave you grab her by the skirt and ask her to tell you more about big crabs. Her mother laughs and tells her that it looks like she just made a friend. She sits back down and starts really showing her frustration.
"Anyway a basking crab is a crab that likes to bask. That's about it. But Crabbo is so big that the sun can't warm his entire body at once so he has to flip around every day. But that means that barnacles started growing all over his body and now he can barely move from them. That's why we asked you guys to help him. Do you at least realize how much we are paying you? The TL;DR is that their leader, this absolute gigachad, decided to "fuck it" and raid the holiest and most sacred place Mariejoa, where the celestial dragons were. He freed a shit ton of slaves and stuff, then formed a pirate crew of mostly fishmen. Most notably he burnt the sun pirate logo over the slave burn marks and for non-slaves too so that none could be separated from each other

"That's because we're not the Dumb Name Pirates. Seriously. Who'd sail the sun? Ridiculous!"
The two ladies pause for a few moments before they become distraught. But you quickly start wagging your finger at them with a grin on your face.
"Don't poop your pants just yet! We're strong. And Crabbo sounds like a cool guy! I'll help him!"

"Y-You?"

"Yeap! But can you take me there? I don't know how these barkleys look like. Oh and we should get my friend she's still on the ship."

Hagetaka begrudgingly agrees to guide you through the land if only to satiate her curiosity about you. First you grab Hook and tell her that there is an entire city in the mountain. She's not exactly thrilled by your guide, asking who the "bimbo" is whatever that means. And though it hurts to say this but you abandon the ship as you go and seek out the barnacles that are hurting the big crab. You also tell her that it'll probably take more than a day since you can't go in the water. She says that's fine as your pose won't log the next destination for about four days.

Finally she takes you to a massive... thing that you could've sworn was just a big hill with all the crap growing out of it.
"This is it. There are hundreds of them and we must cleanse them all."

"Well why don't you guys just keep the crab in good condition? It'd be a lot easier to pick the small ones off every now and then!"
Hook complains.

"Do your eyes not work? Do you not see how big our home is? Or how half of it sinks in the water for a day?"

You pull the two of them apart and make your way to the thing.
"Okay girls cut it out. Now we work. We have fun later."
You examine the massive rocky thing and think about how to best handle it.

i am guessing that is going to appear the option to fuse martial styles once we have enough mastery over fishman and hasshoken

Supporting. Try them separate and see if we can combine. If not, just alternate between the styles

Brilliant. We'll become a force to be reckoned with yet.

You look at the big thing and think that MAYBE you'll need to hit this a fair bit harder than usual. Well no matter. You know several ways to do that. Hasshoken would be one of them and it definitely could deal a considerable amount of damage. But what if it's not enough? There's an easy way to eliminate that risk. And now that you planned everything out so well you start smiling while cracking your knuckles.

"Okay. Time to go to work! Stay back girls! I'm about to learn how to take good care of crabs in case I ever got some."

"Crabs are not a thing you want Silver."

"Shut up crabs are awesome!"

Hagetaka is confused by this exchange.
"I thought we went to get her to help with the removal."

"Nah. I felt bad for leaving her on the ship. She's just here to watch."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A-q3TM8kPk

You walk up to the barnacle smiling from ear to ear as your body changes and grows. Your hands turn into massive wings as you turn into a bat hybrid. The huntress that's with you almost falls over as she backs away from your monstrous form. Looks like even on the Grand Line some people can be scared by Devil Fruits. But that doesn't matter now. Only that big stupid rock in front of you or whatever it is. Raising your wing you look at it carefully. Something's been bothering you a bit. When you transform your arms turn into wings, making you unable to use tools with them. But that doesn't change the fact that they are hands, the fingers are still in there after all.

Clenching one of your massive wings into a fist you grin and begin creating vibrations in your knuckles. Your big ears pick up the air as it starts ringing from your fist, you hear the most minute changes and hear which ones make the vibrations stronger. You finally start getting it!
"Eight Impact Fist! Kōmoriken!"
The barnacle doesn't suffer damage, it doesn't get a dent, it doesn't move. It explodes into tiny bite sized chunks alongside everything growing from it. Complete success. Total annihilation. You feel satisfied.
"Next!"

It takes a while for the girls to unsoil their panties but once it happens you can finally go over the island and destroy the invasive barnacles one by one. But as you keep going something starts bugging you. A strange wind begins to blow, one that doesn't seem to bother anyone else.
"uuuuuuuuuu-"
And it keeps getting louder as you keep going.
"UuuuUUUUuuuUUUUu-"
Until you can clearly hear it. A deep moan that gets louder as you cleanse more of the island crab.

"Freedom... to be able to move once again... and that massage. Whoever's doing it. Thank you."

That's strange. You've never heard the voice of an animal before but you're pretty sure that was Crabbo. Well it's not like he could hear you from all the way over there so you keep going around and breaking the barnacles on his back. Sadly as the sun is setting you're not nearly finished with this side. Hagetaka urges you to return to the village with her because she has to share what she just saw with the village. And you're feeling understandably hungry again so you'd welcome the break. However as you turn around to head back you spot something down by the shore right next to your ship.
"Hey Silver. You don't think Murray made the villagers build another ship. Do you?"

Looking down at the beach you see a second ship docked right next to yours. Well... those must be the guys whose job and subsequent payment just took. Awkward.

Two islands that are separated by a permanent whirlpool. Whenever someone from one island dies, two people are born on the other, emerging from the whirlpool. The two islands bitterly hate each other, and are in a constant low-grade war. Due the islands' effects, their war has degraded into launching suicidal attacks against each other in lieu of any sort of "proper" combat.

Island idea
An active volcano rising out of the sea but instead of smoke and magma coming from the top they are vented out the sides, there is only one docking port that is constantly being extended do to the increasing landmass.

The people live in a large metal factory that sits in the mouth of the volcano where they harvest magma to make different types of obsidian which they use for tools, weapons and armour which all wear. Their armour is fashioned in a way that they can roll themselves up into a ball and ram enemies.

This on the other hand might be the first idea I don't really like. Outright mystical stuff like that does happen but they are rare, you could probably count all of them on one hand. And even then they are not so "in your face" outside Devil Fruits. Usually they can be explained by pseudo science or internal logic
Here are all the "supernatural" things I could think of
>Devil Fruits
>Haki (?)
>The monsters of the Florian Triangle (Might be just big animals)
>Curses
> Klabautermann
Not going to discard the idea just yet but might not use it

I have many ideas for islands but I can’t really decide on one. So I’ll just share the idea I like the most.

Heres my idea for an island.

It’s an island based off of the old tales/myths about Oni and Ogres (such as Ibaraki Doji, Shuten Doji, Hoshiguma Doji, etc). It’s name would probably be something along the lines of Doji Island. It be a very rough and rocky island, however they would produce some potent and powerful alcohol.

The residents of this island would of course be creatures like Oni’s and Ogres. They would be rather friendly, and would most certainly enjoy partying and drinking booze.

I admit I haven’t read or seen Wano yet, so the idea might be redundant y’know.

You stare at the strange new ship that showed up in port. Although it's far away you are sure of one thing. It's much bigger than your own which fills you with envy and jealousy that your cheeks puff up so much that you're on the verge of tears.
"Mine is still better..."

Hook squints to look at their main mast.
"Looks almost like a sun. Holy shit... that's actually the crew of one of the Shichibukai."

"What's wrong? Chicken?"

"Chicken? I'm not a coward!"

"Sure you aren't-"

"But if you see one of the seven warlords of the sea you should run in the opposite direction! That's common sense!"

Adjusting your hat you start laughing.
"Kekekek! Silly Hook! Are you forgetting who we are? We're pirates! We were going to bump into them sooner or later!"

But even though you don't recognize the true scope of the situation Marcella does. Yes you were going to bump into them, but she probably thought you wouldn't pick a fight with them. And she considers herself smart huh? Now then... how to handle this.

You turn around and head back to the village to get the others. Yeah as if! The smell of adventure is just taunting you. You have to see this! So with a mad grin you jump and transform into a regular bat to take to the skies. Marcella gasps in utter horror and points at you.
"SHOOT HIM!"

"W-What? Isn't he your captain?"

"Just shoot him now before he starts trouble!"

"I-I can't I use a spear!"

"Well then DO SOMETHING!"

Though she doesn't understand why Hagetaka nods and starts following you. She jumps so fast she leaves her cape behind. Her jump takes her so high she reaches about halfway to the top of the coral forest and she starts kicking herself off their roots. As she's bouncing between the "trees" she almost looks like she's flying. You hear her approaching with such clarity it's almost as if you have eyes at the back of your skull. Doing a backstroke you turn around to look at her and your jaws drop.
"AWESOME! You're flying!"
She's so nimble and light of foot that she looks like she really does belong in the sky, like a bird of prey.

"No I'm not I just- HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

For a bird she's pretty bad at flying as you could easily fly above her and start tapping her back.
"Hehe! They are like pillows! I wish mine were like these but they are just flat."

"W-What are you doing you imbe-"
But as you play with her wings she stops paying attention to her surroundings and flies off the island and lands in the water. Looks like you shook her off rather well. Time to meet the fishmen!

Proceeding in bat form you turn back into a proper human and land with a loud thud and squat down on the railings.
"Whew! Nice boat! Pretty big. Looks pretty dumb though."
Almost immediately after that comment you have about two dozen swords and various other pointy objects pointed at you.
>>
"Who are you?

One of the guys speaks up. Surprisingly he's not a fishman but a human. Your disappointment is immeasurable and now your day is ruined so you look at the stick he's pointing at you. It's a long stick like a spear but with 3 pointy ends instead of one. So they have a dumb name, a dumb looking ship and dumb weapons. Seriously what's wrong with these guys?

"I'll ask one more time. Who are you and what are you doing here? This isn't a place for kids..."
Well he looks angry. You try to gauge his strength by looking over his body. Yeap. He's strong, as are most of them. But as your eyes trail down you see something. It's... oh god!

"Hi erm... I'm Silver. Nice to meet you. I'm a friend and I don't judge if you guys like having weird relations with fish."

About half of them lower their weapons from the sheer amount of confusion they're experiencing while the other half seem to be offended by it for some unknown reason. I mean if they didn't want people calling them weird why get intimate with a fish? But luckily the one with the three pointed pokey stick is as level headed as he can be and the others are looking at him for orders.

"W-What do you mean?"
You don't want to be rude and point at his bottom half while nervously looking away because that HAS to be one of those dirty things you always hear about. But if that's the case then they can count you the hell out!
"Y-You never heard about a mermaid?"
You shake your head.
"But... you're not freaked out by fish-men?"

"Nope. Jaws is a fish-man and he's my friend. But if he did what you do I may have to change my mind about that..."

There are several moments of silence after that where only the sound of waves hitting the ship could be heard. Then out of nowhere one of the fish-men start laughing. First they try to hold it back but it only ensures the others burst with laughter as well. The situation quickly defuses as they start calling you hilarious and enlighten you about mermaids and mermen being a thing. Suddenly it all makes sense. Well, mostly it makes sense. The fish-bottomed guy who's apparently one such merman wipes his tears away and speaks up sounding relieved.

"Oh boy. For a second there I thought you meant something else. But this is rich! Never seen a guy who's okay with fish-men but utterly disgusted by mermen!"
You look behind him and see several of the crew exchanging money. They probably made some sort of a bet about this. And it was a pretty big one as well as those are BIG wads of cash.
"So Silver... My name is Aladine. Now can you tell us what are you doing here?"

"I came to check out your ship. It's neat. Could do without the fish head though."

"You... really shouldn't do that you know. It's dangerous to climb aboard ships you don't know."

"Yeah but you guys are the Dumb Pirates. The ones that come from the Sun? Seriously what convinced you to sail on the sun?"
There's another round of laughs exploding on the ship. The crew is already calling you hilarious with some of them advocating taking you in as a mascot.

"I think you misunderstand. Our name is Sun Pirates. We don't actually come from the sun... but if you know who we are how did you find the courage to come here?"

"Hehee! You're here to help Crabbo right? That means you're good guys! Well that's what I've been doing!"

"Oh?"
>>
You tell them about how you cleaned some of the barnacles off of Crabbo already but there's still a long way to go. While they don't seem to impressed they are glad there are others who would do such a thing.
"That's nice of you. It's refreshing to finally meet other friends of the sea. As you may know the floppians asked us for help not just because we're strong but because they can trust the basking crab to us. Well I'm sure the Captain will be glad to hear we found a kindred spirit on the island."

"Your captain? I thought you're the captain."

"No. Jinbe jumped off to talk with the locals. We're still a bit cautious around humans but he's strong enough to take care of himself. Anyway we'll take it over from here. Should clean things up in a day or two. I'm sure Jinbe wouldn't mind sharing the payment either if you show him which areas you picked clean."

You point at Crabbo.
"About this much. There are still places I couldn't get to because the sun started setting and I got hungry. But otherwise it's fine."

"What the beach?"

"Nope. This side."

They start wondering what you mean until they look over the "island" and fail to see many barnacles.
"Hmph. Not bad actually. But how much time did you spend on that? You really must be one dedicated boy."

"Not really. It was just one afternoon but I'm already kinda bored."

"E-Eh?"
They appear to be speechless. The stoic yet cheerful pirates are now at a loss for words.

"But you guys can take it from here if you want. And we can split the reward and everyone gets half. Or would you rather fight for it?"

"Oh no! Not at all! In fact I'm sure once the boss hears of this he'd be more than happy to split the reward with you."

"Great! Then let's tell him-"

As you come to an agreement however an unwanted guest pops in. Hagetaka climbs up the side of the ship as you're feeding breadcrumbs in the big figureheads mouth.
"WAIT! Please great Sun Pirates! Don't do mind the child! He's young and-"
She looks around and gets confused at the lack of bloodshed.

"Oh hi! You caught up. I just told them about what we did! They say they'll finish things from here and then we split the loot!"

She slowly clenches her fist. She's so angry the wings on her back are practically vibrating.
"That damn woman... WHY DID I HAVE TO RUN HERE THEN?!"

"She thought I'd cause trouble. I did think so too."

After everything's explained the huntress takes you and some of the Sun pirates back to the town. Along the way you grab Marcella as well. You endlessly pester the fish and mermen to share their sea stories with you but they adamantly refuse and play you like a damn fiddle by asking about yours instead, which of course you're eager to tell. They seem to particularly enjoy the fact you stole a navy ship and refurbished it for your own use. As your merry band gets back to the cave however you get stopped by some of the guard, including Millip.

"Stop Hagetaka! We can't let you in!"

"What is the meaning of this?! What's going on?"

"We've been deceived! These pirates we welcomed are not the Shichibukais crew! They lied to us!"

"You idiots! It was a misunderstanding!"
Hook starts screaming at them.
"You guys never asked if we're with the warlord and just assumed we are!"

Millip then angrily retorts.
"No! You don't understand! We don't care what you did! But you just made an enemy of a warlord! Your friends are already doomed! We can't let you in for your own sake!"

"WHAT?!"
That's the only word that escapes your mouth before you deck both guards in the face and run past them. After entering the town you rush straight to the place where the feast was held. You see three figures surrounded by a passive but horrified crowd. One is a massive, blue fish-man who's clearly ready for fighting. In front of him lie Jaws and Toxin. Toxin seems to be out of the fight but relatively fine. While Jaws was beaten within an inch of his life and he's bleeding a LOT.

"W-We need to- we need to grab the others and r-run. Run the hell away. As fast as we can!"
Hook mumbles to herself but you don't even hear it. Rather, you don't want to hear any of that. There is only one course of action to take and it's plain and simple.

You tug at your sword while the other fish-men are practically SCREAMING at their leader.
"BOSS! What have you done BOSS?! What is going on?!"

He answers them without turning around to look at them.
"Stay out of this! All of you!"

Aladine nods and turns to look at you.
"I know what this must look like but you gotta trust the- what?!"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qI2zlab2vI

You're no longer there. In fact you slipped out without anyone noticing you. Sword drawn in one hand and gun in the other you make a mad dash through the crowd. When you reach the circle surrounding them you jump over and rush forward with utmost speed fueled by pure rage. Jumping once more you sit on the neck of the massive fish-man and lock your legs before his neck. Stabbing downward you slide the tip of your sword between his gills while cocking your pistol behind his skull. To all watchers it looks like a shadow leaped out of nowhere and wrapped itself around Jinbes head. The sound of a pistol firing echoes all around the cave, followed by metal grinding against metal.

Everything stops for a moment as nobody's sure what just happened with the exception of two people. You and your enemy. Normally it'd astonish you that a guys skull could beat a bullet but now you don't care. You're more focused on pushing the sword further down the fish-mans gills but you encountered quite a bit of resistance. Even with all your strength brought to bear you can't seem to make progress. Finally the fish-man reaches up and grabs you by the throat easily.
"Fish-man karate: Ipponzeoi!"

He grabs you with his other hand and pulls you forward and slams you into the ground. The impact is strong enough to make your ribcage pop like a balloon alongside most of the floor around you. Those watching the fight are quietly talking amongst each other that he killed you. They nearly loose consciousness when you stand up, bloody, hurting but still ready to throw down. Most importantly you point your falchion at him, the tip dripping with blood. Nobody but the Sun Pirates themselves seem to get what that means and they are understandably scared.

Jinbe reaches to the place where you stabbed him and seems to feel its mark.

"Who... are you?"
He speaks but you don't care for his words.

Instead you look over your shoulder at Jaws. He's looking up at you with barely restrained tears, his bloody visage now pales in comparison to yours.
"C-Captain... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!"

"Toxin. Can you move?"

"Forgive me Silver... I tried to help. But I just got beaten as well. But Murray-"

That's all you wanted to hear. They can't leave. That's fine. It just means you'll have to move this guy elsewhere. After throwing away your weapons your body begins to change and grow in size as you enter your hybrid form. Raising your wings you ready yourself to throw down and wait for the fish to do the same. But he just stands there menacingly.
"Why do you do this? Are you this ready to die for him?"

"No. I die for no one. And my men don't die for me. But I... will... kill for him!"

He shoots a glance at Jaws.
"Captain? How strange."
Then he looks back at you.
"However if you keep this up boy, rest assured you will die. But that doesn't have to happen."

"You hurt my men. That means you die. There's no way out of this."

"I did no such thing. Your man attacked me. What I did was self defense."
He looks at Murray again.

>>
You're not stupid enough to turn your back at him so you just speak up with your back facing your first mate.
"Jaws. Is this true?"

He can no longer hold back his own tears anymore. It's not the pain that's causing them to flow but his shame. His voice cracks as he speaks.
"I'm so sorry captain! Forgive me but-"
Then suddenly all his grief gets replaced by anger which gets close to matching your own but not quite.
"But! That man! THAT MAN! He's the one I'll never... EVER forgive! Jinbe! First son of the Sea Jinbe! Yakuza of the Sea Jinbe! Boss Jinbe! All these names yet none of them speak of the truth! JINBE THE TRAITOROUS DOG!"

The Sun Pirates start getting enraged.
"How dare you speak of Boss like that?! Who do you think you are?!"

"LOOK AT YOU! You lick his footprints like everyone else! You sing his praises like he's a hero of some kind! HAVE YOU ALL LOST YOUR MINDS? LOOK AT THE MARK OF THE SUN YOU BEAR! This man spits in the face of Fisher Tigers legacy! He's a government DOG working for those who keep our brothers and sisters in chains! HE WORKS FOR THE CELESTIAL DRAGONS! AND YOU WORSHIP HIM!"

Jinbe then sighs.
"You saying that reveals how little you know of brother Tai. Please. Stop for your own sake."

"WHAT DOES IT MATTER?! You work for those who steal our kin, who burn the dragons brand into our skin, THE VERY SAME thing you people cover up with the mark of the sun! AND ALL THAT FOR WHAT?! Why did he take that position in the first place-"

"To earn the former slaves a pardon so they could return ho-"

"BULLSHIT! You... I heard why you accepted! You took the job for Arlong! The scumbag you then released into the seas! You help our enslavers and unleash criminals so they could freely ravage the dry world! And YOU have the GALLS to preach about peaceful coexistence! Hypocrite!"
Jaws spits on the ground and then headbutts the stone under him hard enough to crack it. He gets reduced to a crying, screaming mess.

Finally Jinbe looks at you and speaks up.
"And there you have it. When I showed up he was happily eating with your friend there. But once he saw me he got up and attacked me. All the way only screaming my name. Ask anyone. They'll tell you the same. Now... do you still wish to fight me? Or do you realize what I did was just?"

"Damn it boy."
Jinbe raises his fist.
"You'll die!"

"Nah. I'm winning. You're bleeding and all my blood is still on the inside!"

In your hybrid form you roll your wings into a fist just like you did when breaking the barnacles and prepare for your new special ultimate move. Sadly you doubt nothing less would suffice. But it looks like it should do the trick. That whale of a fish-man is sweating. Well, he has one bead on his forehead and he looks concerned. That's good enough.

"Hasshoken Ogi: Kōmoriken!"

"Fishman Karate: Samegawara Seiken!"

You bump fists with Jinbe and for a moment nothing happens. Then your body ruptures further as the shockwave traverses your body and then you get flung backward. Hard. It looks as if you'll barrel right through the crowd behind you as well as the entire mountain but something stops you. Jaws stood up with the last vestiges of his strength and caught you mid flight, transmitting all the force into himself and causing his wounds to rip further open. Jinbe just looks at this stoically.

"Murray... Never would've thought one of the children of Fish-Man District would submit to a human so willingly, much less give their life for them. What changed?"

Murray spits up blood and grins.
"At home? Nothing. Thanks to you... But this boy, this man! He's more valuable than me or even you. And I only regret my actions because they caused him and my comrades trouble... But remember this thing Jinbe! ONE DAY! One day I'll have your head! JINBE!"

Jinbe starts walking to his men.
"Aladine. Gather the crew. We do what we came here for and then we leave."

"Yes boss."

>>4509385
There's one important thing to note: This is Jinbe before the Paramount War. Meaning he hasn't met Luffy yet

Still Jimbo believes he was 100% in the right with that one for several reasons. Murray like 99% of all people doesn't know the truth about Fisher Tigers death, not to mention everything about Otohime (which I left out intentionally but will come up in the far future). Plus he really was attacked for no reason. He just showed up and Jaws just attacked him on the spot. A fight broke out, he disabled Gu and wanted to do the same with Murray but the fucker just kept lunging at him every time which is why he was hurt so badly. He also wanted to end this peacefully and was willing to leave but duty called.

The only thing he regrets (for now, he'll definitely shit at least one brick when he hears what you did for Crabbo) is the fact that he "probably" doesn't know all the details regarding you guys either.

I think it's time we address the elephant in the room.
We need to figure out the naming motif behind our attacks. This is not just for sale over but for the rest of the crew. Spooky has done a great job with his names for the fish man karate and hasshoken techniques, but those are stuff we learned from other people. We need to give em our own names since we put our own spin on em, you know.
With that said, I'll out in my two cents here with some brainstorming for silver. We learned two martial arts techniques that utilize shockwaves and vibrations to deal massive damage and we have the powers of the bat devil fruit. I think a sound based theme to attack names would be apt, and I thought that names using vocal intensities would be fitting. For example "Shout punch" or "roaring hammer blow" would be applicable. The 'louder' the term used is, the stronger the attack.

After their rather unfortunate confrontation with the Silver Pirates, the Sun Pirates returned to the Snapper Head to discuss how to proceed.
"Listen up all of you! I know it's not easy to just ignore what happened but we came here for a reason. If we hurry we can finish in a day. But to avoid further confrontations none of you can leave for the town! You understand? Now... let's check how bad of a shape the crab's in."

"B-Boss Jinbe-"

"WHAT?"
The warlord snaps at his own men. Clearly he's just as irritated as the rest of them. So Aladine has to step in to mediate between the pirates.

"Jinbe. That boy cleared about half of the barnacles already."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFWv1xNzOvM

"What?"

"Only a bit's left on this side and everything else is underwater. He said when he heard about the crab hurting he wanted to help it. Even if it was all a misunderstanding."

Suddenly the others start backing up the vice-captain.
"Y-Yeah boss! He came here to brag about how much of the barnacles he already cleared!"

Others start tearing up.
"He didn't care about the money and just wanted his fair share..."

"And he- he didn't even care about how we looked! He was a good kid boss!"

Now it was Jinbe who was getting emotional just a bit. He grasped his neck and looked towards the mountain where the town was.
"And I guess he didn't care about giving his life for a fish-man either."
Jinbe collected his thoughts and spoke the only thing he could come up with that would calm down his men a little.
"Listen up you! I won't let some upstart show us up! We'll do our share of the work in a fraction of the time! Then we take our fair share and not a coin more! So tell me! Are you willing to clean that crab so that human can recover safely?"

"AYE AYE!"
The crew roars.

As the other fishmen jump into the water Aladine moves up to his long time friend.
"I've heard worse speeches... Aren't you going after them?"

"No. I'll check in with the doctor. My neck hurts."

"That bad?"

"No. It's just irritated."

"How did he even manage to draw blood from you?"

"I won't make any excuses. I messed up. He fired his gun first so I protected my head. But I didn't have time to properly cover my gills. The strange thing though was that he just... kept pushing. And it almost felt like he was making progress."

"Hmmmm. He has incredible willpower that's for sure. Yet I felt nothing from him. But... if he doesn't use armament... how didn't that bargain bin sword of his not snap in half?"

"I don't know. Hmmmm. But now that I think about it, something Ace of the Whitebeard Pirates said springs to mind. He told me his little brother should be starting his own pirate journey about now. If those two belong to the same generation then we can look forward to some interesting times I'm afraid... Now excuse me."

Yeah, had to be the effect of the hasshoken. He was vibrating the sword due to straining so hard, which was allowing him to cut jinbe when he had absolutely no business being able to.

Bolt Bolt Fruit
A paramecia type that manifests as a pair of bolts emerging from the sides of the user's neck. The user can remove them then affix them opposite of each other to on multiple things to bolt them together creating an inseparable joint, though it doesn't raise the hardness of the objects joined. The user can manipulate whether the joint is stiff or can swivel on the bolt's axis.

New bolts spring up from the user's neck after removal but they should be careful not to over do it as excessive use depletes their blood iron content, this can be trained however.

Both Char sheet and Slinks got a bit of love
In the end I decided to roll the Sun Pirates and Jinbe into one. No point in creating two entries (for now)

To tell our story we must go back. 11 long years ago on the West Blue a luxury cruiser, the Celeste was sailing, its passengers unaware of the danger lurking around the corner. The ship was prepared and ready for an entire pirate raid if need be. But nobody could've prepared for the storm that hit them. Weeks after the tragic incident the papers were filled with article after article about the fate of the ship. Only bits and pieces of the wreck were ever found, the ship was assumed to have been completely destroyed and all its passengers were officially declared dead. But in truth there was 1 survivor.

Clinging onto a piece of driftwood a single boy managed to survive. For a whole day he held on even as he was struggling with his own emotions. But he had to be strong. His mom and dad told him to be. He had to survive so they could meet up. He was washed ashore on an as of yet uncharted and uninhabited island. When he finally felt the calming steadiness of dry land he opened his eyes for the first time in 24 hours. Though incredibly hungry and thirsty he could do nothing but cry out once he got his bearings.
"MAMA! PAPA! MAMAAAA! PAPAAAA!"

He remained in place crying to himself for no less than two hours, waiting for his mom and dad to show up at the beach. But nothing came. He kept bawling until he could cry no more. His heart ached, he felt alone and sad but he couldn't keep screaming any more. His hunger and thirst compelled him to go deeper into the island to find something to eat and drink. It was a lucky thing that he disliked the taste of salt water otherwise his story may have ended there. He found some berries to eat and a spring which supplied him with fresh water. Though the berries were not yet ripe and the water was not clean enough for his weak stomach so it brought him much pain. But it provided him with sustenance so he kept consuming no matter how much it hurt.

However painful as it may have been the island taught him well. He learned from the examples of the animals as they kept stealing his food, kept attacking him because he entered their territory and kept pushing him around because he was smaller, weaker. They were good teachers. He learned from them the law of nature, how to survive. But it all came at a cost. Though his feeble body toughened up, his mind got used to life on the island he started to forget things. Whatever he didn't use started to escape his grasp. First was his power of speech, words lost their meaning. Then he forgot his own name, in his own mind he just called himself "I" or "me" and everything else was "other". As he became wild and feral the only things he managed to retain, which he clung onto harder than life itself were the two most important words.
"Mama" and "papa".

Over his two years of solitude not one day passed when he didn't think about them. About how they'll surely come for him.
>>
>>4515618
you did the thing again
>>
>>4515636
Kill me
>>
But after those two years, after he already got used to his life as an animal a new challenge entered his life. One day sails showed up on the horizon. Sails belonging to ships, things he once knew but now looked strange and alien. He sat in a bush and watched as settlers started pouring out of them and invading his home. At first he kept his distance from the strange new animals while he gauged them. But it was an inevitability that the humans found him. And as they first mistook him for an animal they captured and chained him up immediately. Only after that did they realize they found a stray and quite feral little boy.

Were these nice and compassionate people perhaps things would've turned out differently. But unfortunately it was not meant to be so. These people were hedonists in the extreme. Wealthy people who escaped civilized society and all the rules that come with it. They wanted to carve out their very own piece of heaven on the small island and they did not appreciate some wild brat sullying their new home. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately there was a kind pair that were not quite as demented as the rest. They were marines by profession and signed up with the colonists for no reason other than the safety of their own child. With a few threats and sharp looks they managed to scare the others into sparing the child but that's all they could do. Their "benefactors" had just as much of a hold over them as they had. And besides, they would have to return to active duty soon.

So the boy was spared but he was not taken in, not adopted. He was deemed another resource to be exploited, a working animal. His "home" was a shed with no walls, only a roof and a metal pole hammered into the ground where he'd be chained up when not in use. He was worked like a mule and forced to carry logs, rocks and mined goods to and fro to facilitate the growth of the town. For a while he resisted like any animal would, then he was broken like any animal would.

It was a funny thing. His two years of living alone toughened him up and the hard labor further strengthened his body. If he wanted to he could've easily escaped captivity. But every good tamer knows that one must break a beasts spirit before subjugating it. Before he got strong enough to break free he was taught to fear the crack of the whip more than anything. Once the mere sight of the tool got him shaking like an autumn leaf he was ready to serve.

Finally the spark of life died in his eyes and with them those two words he once cherished. Not even their loss bothered him. It's as if those words never existed in his mind at all.
>>
His life amongst his human brethren returned many things to him however. Through hearing and observation he relearned human speech. Even if he never showed it. His treatment by the others also taught him many new things. He hid his feelings, his thoughts, everything that would earn him further beatings.
"Don't think. Don't feel."

He tried his best to stay true to this mentality. After a while he didn't even feel the kiss of the rod or the lash of the whip. But it wasn't always so simple. Mary Killgrew the daughter of the marines that spared his life took a liking to him as he was the only other child on the island, the other adults cared not for procreation as children were only trouble and served no purpose. So Mary followed him around, talked to him and tried to get him to play. But she was raised strong by her parents, for they knew the ugly truth of the world. And even if she didn't play rough with him, the other adults definitely didn't like it when he "slacked off".

So that's how he spent his next seven years. Silently hating those that shunned him and trying his best to avoid the one person that didn't dislike him. In that time he earned more than a few lashes, leaving his back as a permanent reminder of his status as a slave. Even when 2 years ago Mary left for the marines and promised him that she'd come and save him one day he felt nothing. Mary was nothing more to him than another source of pain in his distorted mind and he was glad she left. He was content with his life after that. No Mary, no excessive punishments. He could absent mindedly pull carts full of stone for the rest of his life. But one day something happened which he never would've expected.

It was a favored pastime of his to remove his chain and walk out to the beach every night he could, when the adults weren't watching. He'd go out and sit down in the sand to look at the water.
He hated the sea. He knew that he was here because of the sea. And even if he didn't remember it anymore the sea took his parents.
But he thought that if he sat down and patiently waited... maybe one day... the sea would come and take him away as well. Away from this horrible place. To the very bottom where it's dark and quiet. Where he could finally be alone.

But this day he found his favored spot taken by a stranger. One he has never seen before.
>>
The sea is a cruel thing indeed. It looked like it washed this one ashore as well. She's an adult, one that's not from here. Her ship must've been destroyed. But that was not her biggest concern. From the edge of the beach she crawled up to one of the palm trees, dragging a red line in the sand as she did. From the broken, spear like wooden beam and the hole in her side it looked like she was impaled quite badly. She successfully removed it but she was on the verge of death with a red patch underneath her rapidly expanding. Her eyes were fading as she panted and looked at the boy.

This was an interesting development for him. For the first time since his capture there now was a creature more defenseless, more vulnerable than himself. He clenched his fist until his knuckles were white and his palms bled. He had a chance to let it all out, to vent his years of built up frustration. To give instead of take. And as he was thinking this the woman started moving as if she knew what he was thinking about.

Her left arm was useless but she could still somewhat move her right, enough to crawl with it at least. Or strangle something if it got too close.
"F...fuck. Not like this. Not gonna... die like this! Not to a brat! At least... let me... die at sea!"
But as she tried to muster her strength she collapsed as she was unable to support her own weight. With her face in the mud she started sobbing.
"Not like this..."

The boy stood there, his hands now relaxed. He turned away and ran back to town. After about ten minutes he returned with a black eye and a dogs bite mark over his legs but carrying a bowl in one hand and an apple in the other. He walked over to the bleeding lady and pushed the bowl containing the milk with bred in front of her as well as the apple. She looked at it for a second before knocking the bowl over with her good hand and all her strength.
"SCREW YOU! I don't need your pity! Do you know who I am?! I'd rather die than-"

GROOOOOWL

She paused. That noise did not come from her. She had to realize that the boys hunger was greater than hers. But all the boy did in response was slide the apple closer to her. It was the only other thing he could steal. She had to swallow hard and bite the bullet on this one. She scooped up the sand which soaked up the milk and dirtied the bread and put it all back in the bowl. She scarfed it down alongside the apple. All the while she couldn't stop crying for a moment.
>>
Things went similarly the next day. The boy stole food for the girl by the shore. But this day she was even less cooperative.

"Eat."
The boy shook his head.
"I ate yesterday. You eat now."
The boy still refused.
"Fine."

The lady used her still working hand to lure the boy closer and opened her hand, gesturing for the boy to put the stolen bread in it. As he put the bread in there she bit down on it and used her free hand to catch the boy and pry his mouth open. She then dropped the bread in it.
"Next time I tell you to eat you eat! Or I'll throw up in your mouth to feed you! Understood?"

From that day forward they entered a partnership of sorts. The boy would bring her food every day and they alternate between who gets to eat. In turn she gave him the companionship he so desperately craved. She turned out to be a pirate and shared with him what she knew. She told him about the sea and the magical adventures that await there, about the legends that sail it and the nature of the world. As her strength gradually returned she taught him further, how to use his body, how to throw a punch. And most importantly she made him talk.

"So... you don't talk much do you? Odd. Do you just not speak or can't? Which is it? You know shaking your head is really not helping. Alright. Let's put it to a test shall we? I'll say some things and you say it after me. Got it?
My enemy is my teacher. My actions are my voice. I make no excuses. I never quit. And I know not of defeat!"

"M-My enemy is my teacher. My actions are my voice. I make no excuses. I never quit. And I know not of defeat!"

"Good! Remember that well! You could always learn more but as long as you know this you're okay! That's my code but I'll let you have it! If you live by it you can become just as awesome as I am one day!"

It was after hearing those tales, her endless praise of the great blue that the boys perception of water changed. And for the first time since he was 4 year old he could look at the waves without feeling sad. He sat there with the mysterious pirate watching the sun set and finally felt at peace.

"Hey kid... I'm feeling cold. Come sit with me. Yosh!"
She took him in his lap and looked on as the stars began shining.
"Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho.
Binkusu no sake wo, todoke ni yuku yo.
Umikaze kimakase namimakase
Shio no mukou de, yuuhi mo sawagu
Sora nya wa o kaku, tori no uta~
Oh... Looks like he fell asleep. Sweet dreams little boy."
>>
The next day the boy found himself alone and started to panic until he heard the voice of the lady.
"GOOD MORNING!"

She was out on the sea, floating on a raft she must've made during the night. The boy ran into the water until it reached up to his waist and cried out.
"DON'T LEAVE!"

"Sorry boy! I have to."

"THEN TAKE ME WITH YOU! Pirates take what they want don't they?! Don't you want me?"

Her heart ached. That's exactly what she wanted to do. But she knew it'd be irresponsible.
"I do... but there is one thing I want more. I want you safe!"
Her wounds may have healed but her strength has not returned yet. Going out alone in that state was dangerous for her. But even moreso for the boy. People would come after her and end up hurting him.
"So I'll go out! And I want you to get strong and come find me when you're ready! You hear me? We'll meet in the paradise of pirates!"

"B-But how will I find you?"

"Eliza the Silver! That's my name! SO DON'T YOU FORGET IT!"

As the only person he cared about sailed out of his life the nameless boy cried once more. But not out of sadness but determination. From that day onward he stopped eating sand to quiet the growling of his stomach and hunting for stray crabs on the beach. He took the food he needed, trained himself to get strong just as he was taught and no longer allowed people to snuff out his flame. It took him two years to reshape himself into something worthy of the sea, two years to find the opening he needed to set the whole island ablaze and two years to finally set out on his adventure.

No longer nameless the boy set out to make sure the world can never ignore him ever again.

>>
>>4518425
Say, what do the marines think of us now after what happened earlier? More specifically Mary and Tsuru?
>>
>>4518677
Mary probably thinks we snapped and became some psycho murderer pirate and blames herself for not saving us. Now she's going to save us even if it is through murder+suicide.
>>
>>4518937
Mary is gonna end up killing or being responsible for the death of Eliza.

Would this upset you?
>>
>>4518945
For Eliza? At the moment, no.

For Mary? Yes.

Eliza did show us kindness but we don't know if that was any more than a whim during a vulnerable time who knows what else she's been up to. Hell I can see Blackbeard doing something similar in her position.

But for Mary, especially when she found out about the connection, it would crush her and while she may be an idiot she was seriously working to make us happy(even if it turns out its her own selfish desire to see us happy).

I think she cares for us, with Spooky writing, "Her heart ached. That's exactly what she wanted to do. But she knew it'd be irresponsible." Silver definitely cares about her, with her being the only person he cared about, up until his crew.
>>4518945
We don't know much about Eliza, so I'm a bit indifferent, but Silver would be pissed. Mary I'd be a bit bummed about, as she does have good intentions, but she doesn't really understands Silver's view at all.
>>
>>4518677
I've done a side reel for Tsuru, that describes her feelings quite well
Mary is sad and pissed because she thinks Silver is too dumb to know what he's doing and feels responsible because she took her eyes off of you for one second and this happened
The rest are barely aware that you exist and those who do just expect the GL to filter you like the rest
I will update their pastes soon

>>4518998
While I mostly agree that BB is nowhere near as bad as many think I'm reserving my judgement. We haven't seen enough of him yet to see how he treats his crew or if he cares about them at all
>>
>>4519162
The way I see it is that Blackbeard is just the singular most driven guy on the sea and will let nothing come between him and his dream. There isn't anything too heinous or cruel for him to resort to if it means achieving his goals. So if you're with him he won't just savage you for no reason but God help you if you're against him. Though I expect he'll at least take some inspiration from the real world Blackbeard and do some things simply to hold up appearances.

Of course that's just me being hopeful. He just doesn't act like a typical OP villain.
>>
>>4519162
>Mary is sad and pissed because she thinks Silver is too dumb to know what he's doing and feels responsible because she took her eyes off of you for one second and this happened

Are we supposed to like Mary? Because everything we learn about her just makes her more and more unlikable.
>>
>>4519176
She's got a hero complex for just one kid. She's selfish in that she doesn't consider what Silver wants. She's a bit violent. Honestly she's just a plain weirdo.

I mean I wouldn't want to hang out with her but she isn't bad people. Until she ends up being a marine dog and maximum oppresses the people.
>>
>>4519176
>>4519183
She's selfish and isn't thinking of Silver at all, just see's him as someone who needs saving. She has good intentions, even if they're very misguided and not understanding of anyone involved in them. I get the feeling she's going to end up doing something to really piss us off, liking hurting a crew mate in an attempt to "save" us.

I mean, even when she was on the slavers' island, Mary kept on being around Silver even if that earned him lashes. She either did not know, which means she's just ignorant and naive, or she knew, and that means that Silver being in pain meant less to her than her own "affection" for him (or her boredom).
Either way she has a skewed, and possibly dangerous, perspective.

You try to sleep but you can't. People keep talking around you, your back is stiff and your pillow is very hot.

"I said I can't allow you to feed him. Wouldn't want to have an accident... By that I mean if you're not careful he'll bite your arm off. Got the imprint of his teeth on the spoon to prove it."
That must be Gu talking.

"You're still injured. You need rest just as much as he does. Now lay down!"
And that must be the hunter lady who's been helping you. Can't they keep it down?

With a sigh you switch to the cool side of the pillow and roll onto your side. Hopefully they'll stop soon. But it looks like that won't happen as they started to loose their minds.
"Captain?! You're awake? Since WHEN?!"

"Since this morning. Now let me sleep."

But they wouldn't let you rest no matter how much you insist. Instead they have you sit up and eat some soup. At first you didn't want to but then you realize that you're quite hungry. As you're sipping away they start explaining to you what happened.

"H-How are you up already? Our shamans said you may never wake up but it's been only three days!"

"Only two... He just said he was already awake this morning.
How are you feeling captain?"

"Hungry and angry. Where is Jimbo?"

"I hope you're asking because you want to beat him up and not eat him... I still wonder if they taste like fish or man though... But they left already. After knocking you out they cleaned up the crab, took half the treasure and set sails without a word."

"Ah good. That means I can kick their ass later! Now food!"

"One moment. Marcella and I were talking. When the locals treated you they had to take off your clothes. Murrays as well."

"I'm more concerned about mine thanks."

"Wait for it. We've seen his back. He had a... mark. It looked suspiciously like the one the Sun Pirates have."

"Really? Interesting!"

"Wouldn't talk about it though. He just kept repeating that he won't make any excuses and he'd answer to you. Every time we brought up the mark he got mad..."

"REALLY?!"

"Sigh. I knew this would happen. In any case you can't go and talk to him yet."

"Well why not?"

Gu urges you to stand up and gosh darn it you will! After getting you excited like that how could you lay down? But as it turns out that is more difficult than you realized as most of your body is in a cast. You wondered why you can't move quite right. Apparently most of the bones in your body were broken and not in a nice way. Well you still have to go and visit your fish buddy either to kick his ass or to talk with him. You haven't decided which yet. And desperate times call for desperate measures.

"Toxin. Break open the cask!"

"W-Which one?"

"All!"

You have to tap into your personal reserves to do it but it's for a good cause. After guzzling down 12 barrels of milk and eating 4 cheese wheels quite a crowd gathered outside the infirmary. Most of them are quick to run away before they loose their appetites forever. Meanwhile Gu keeps pumping dairy into you while Hagetaka is on the verge of throwing up.
"Y-You do realize drinking milk-"

"Nonsense! Milk makes your bones strong!"
After finishing the last casket you flex your muscles and break free of your cast.
"HAHA! Freedom!"

Before the people who are not part of your crew could realize what just happened you jump out the window and start running where you assume your first mate is. You find him sitting at the very edge of the town staring at the bubble containing it with his back turned to you. True to Toxins words there is a mark that looks quite a bit like the Sun Pirates but it's clearly different.
"Captain..."
He speaks up and turns to look at you.
"May I have a word captain?"

You nod and Jaws thanks you for it. He doesn't bother standing up but he does turn around on his ass to face you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FscTa_Nqwo

He starts off with a smile, even chuckles nervously for a bit but it all gradually disappears.
"I... don't know what to say. I thought I would be ready for the sea but I guess I'm not ready to face that yet. When I saw Jinbe I... I lost my temper. It's funny. I never even met the guy before. Bet he doesn't even know who I am. But I just couldn't help myself. Not with what he did or didn't do. I don't think I can explain it all. There's just so much but-"
He covers his eyes as he begins to tear up.
"But what I did is unforgivable!"
Now he's prostrating himself before you, resting his forehead on the ground as he bows.
"I got us into trouble! I wish I just got myself killed! Instead I endangered my crew mates! I endangered you Captain!"

You don't say a word and just pull down your hat, staring at him from under the brim. As you walk up to him Jaws raises his head just enough to look at you.
"Please Silver! Punish me for what I did! Hit me! Kick me out! Do anything just let me pay for what I've done!"

You crouch down before him.

You look at him and how he's presenting himself to you. It makes you wonder what's that brought him to this point.
"What happened to you Jaws?"

He looks up with teary eyes and you help him sit upright. Slowly as he starts to get a grip on himself he tells you about his childhood. He grew up in a bad place called the Fish-man District which was originally an orphanage but later became just a lawless place which still happened to have many orphans in it. He grew up with a bunch of rowdy kids similar to himself. One of the only good things about living there were the story times of some guy named Fisher Tiger who's known as the hero of Fishman Island. He fought for the fish-men and against the humans who enslaved them.

He and many others were enthralled by his story so much that they decided to follow in his footsteps. They formed a gang of sorts in his honor and the mark on his back is a sign of that. They hanged out all the time and always talked about how they'll get back at the humans one day. This is how he grew up.
"But we... we did bad things Captain. We did a lot of bad things. And I would've kept doing them. But one day I messed up. I did one good thing. It showed me that maybe I was wrong, that maybe the things I did were wrong. So I looked around, asked a lot of questions. I learned many things about the stories I heard as a kid. I still don't know the whole truth. But I know that the Fisher Tiger I loved as a kid was a lie... But before I could learn more my "friends" found out about what I did. And so I had to run."
He appears to tear up a little again.
"I had a sister you know. The way I left her behind made me sick but I had to do it so she wouldn't get hurt! That's why I swam all the way to West Blue.
So that's why I attacked Jinbe. Because I was mad at him for the lies about Fisher Tiger. Because I was mad at myself for being a piece of shit. Because of the state my home is in..."

At this point you stand up.
"Jaws-"

"Yes cap-"
You kick him in the face so hard he does a flip and strikes the ground with the back of his skull.
"GAH! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!"

"SHUT UP AND LET'S GO!"
You spread your arms with a grin which Jaws can't make sense of.
"You did what you had to! And so did I! So don't be sad about it kekekeke! Fisher Tiger? Jimbo? Fishman Island? Why be sad about that when we can DO something about it?"

"C-Captain-"

"So your home is a bad place, so Jimbo is a big dummy! SO WHAT? We're PIRATES! We can do what we want! Do you want to cry about things all day or do you want to sail with me to Fishman Island and make things good again?"
>>
"B-But Captain! You don't understand-"

"I understand exactly as much as I have to!"

"S-Silver."
Murray gets serious and stands up, towering over you.
"Captain. If you'll have me, I swear I'll follow you to the end of the world itself! And I swear... I'll become the next Fisher Tiger!"

"That's the spirit! Finally you have a dream as well KEKEKE!"

As you shake hands with Jaws and exchange a few friendly punches to the shoulder you notice a few additional footsteps approaching you. It's Hook. Looks like Toxin and the huntress finally got her.
"I knew I could find you idiots if I follow the noise. So Murray, you're not mopey anymore?"

"I'm better. Sorry to worry you and-"
Marcella then hits him in the knee with her baseball bat.
"Why?"

"APOLOGIZE FOR BEING A DUMBASS INSTEAD! You almost got us killed! I thought Silver was going to do it but YOU? Looks like I overestimated his stupidity and UNDER yours! But I'm actually glad you're back in shape now. Just don't do something like that again."

"Don't worry. I won't let Silver down ever again."

"What about us you selfish jerk?
Anyway Silver we got everything ready. Got the treasure, got provisions and the log pose picked up our next destination. We can set sail anytime you want."

"What about Crabbo?"

"Crabbo is fine. In fact he's doing great."
Hagetaka answers.
"We owe you much so thank you."

You point at Hagetaka.
"I want her."

"E-Eh?"
She seems flustered.
"W-w-w-what does he mean? A-Are you evil pirates after all? Strip me of my maidenhood? Well I won't give it without a fight! So prepare-"

"Interesting choice Captain. Why her?"

"Simple Toxin. She's an angel!"

"A-Angel?"
She unconsciously starts lowering her spear.
"W-Well if you'd seduce me with such honeyed words I'll-"

"Did he-"
"Just compliment-"
"A girl?"

Both the angel and your crewmembers are shocked by this. But you quickly put them in their place when you swipe Hagetakas cape off her back and exposing her twitching cherub wings. Hook, Jaws and Toxin all have their eyes bulge out of their skulls.
"No she's an angel! See? Like in the bible! I want her in the crew!"

"G-Give back my cape you little!"

Laughing you turn into a bat and fly away while still carrying her cloak. You tell her that if she wants it back she has to either beat you in a flying race or she has to join your crew. She wastes no time running after you and out of the cave but she does protest that she can't fly. How silly. Does she think she can fool you? She has wings and she's moving around in the air, thus she's flying! She keeps moving around the place, jumping from coral to coral as she tries to spear you and a few times she almost does land a hit.

But ultimately you manage to fly back to the Dauntless at which point you turn around to gloat at her.
"HAH! I win!"
However it looks like she doesn't really care as she lobs her spear at you and it makes you drop her cloak.
"WHOA! Watch where you throw that!"

"And you should watch what you mess with! Don't steal other peoples clothing!"
She takes her cloak and puts it back on.
"And my answer is no. I don't care about pirates or the sea..."

She may say that but as she looks at the waves it's pretty obvious that there is something there. The look in her eyes is one of curiosity and want. You land on her shoulder still in your bat form and look in the same direction. Even though you share a moment with her as the two of you stare at the sea she just brushes you off without a care.
"Get off me!"
>>
You turn back into a human and dust yourself off.
"Well if no then no."
The others start arriving slowly and they almost cough up their lungs as they do.
"Okay guys. I failed. She caught me. We can leave now."

Using a rowboat you return to board the Dauntless and give the island one last look. Despite what you did for them looks like the island natives don't really care about you leaving. So without further ado you pull up your anchor and set sail. The others are hard at work while you're resting on the railing of the ship, still gazing at the island as you slowly leave it behind. Marcella notices this and stops to question you.
"Why are you looking so smug? You just lost."

"No~!"

Meanwhile back on the island Hagetaka continues to watch as the strange little ship sails away. Pirates come and go but these ones were strange even by the usual standards. She sighs and kicks a bit of sand into the air.
"Perhaps... Shandora is not meant to be found by someone like me. Dreams are silly anyway-"
She turns around to return to the village. It's better this way anyway. No way she can leave the hunting up to those halfwits in the village. But as she starts walking she notices that it got dark all of a sudden and it's still too early for that.
"An eclipse?!"
She looks up and becomes pale.
"NO!"
A few seconds pass and you get up from your resting position to jump up. With arms spread wide you catch the mighty haul but fail to account to its speed. Both you and your "booty" get smashed into the main mast, cracking it. Luckily your body took the brunt of the force so your prize did not get damaged.

You gently put it down before walking up to the rear of the ship and start waving.
"THANKS CRABBO!"
The crab waves back at you as you leave.

"W-W-W-WHAT? Where am I? What is going on?"
Hagetaka is confused but your crew doesn't seem to mind her. Much.

"Welcome to Hell."
Gu greets her.

"M'lady."
As does Jaws.

"Wow. Look at that. Not even the island wanted her. Bet her cow tits were breaking the crabs back!"

You tell her to ignore Marcella and help her stand up. She just looks around immensely confused. However she does compose herself with a cough and speaks up.
"W-Well... it appears great Crabbo has sent me on a holy mission to find our lost home of Shandora. But know that once I find our ancestral home I'll abandon all of you without a shred of regret!"

"KEK! Welcome aboard!
Now about your new name... What did you call her Hook? Cow-what?"

"HAH!"

The Emperor Nimbus or whatever it's called is massive and has several islands other than Skypiea. And there are other independent sky islands not connected to it
