The Digital World was born mere months before its collapse. However, these months translated to billions of cycles in the Digital World, allowing for the evolution of countless digital entities.

In a last-ditch attempt to save its progress, the Digital World created the ARK, a Virtual Machine that would continue the processes while the Digital World attempts to self-repair.

The ARK contains a mere 100 Gigabytes, a tenth of the Digital World's 1 Terabyte capacity. It is divided into three layers and today, we will be inspecting the Ark's first layer.

It takes the form of a vast plains, divided by two into the North and South halves. At the extremities of these halves, forests where plant-like digital entities thrive, and in the plains between the forests and the mountains, animals thrive.

On the mountains, viral and anti-viral programs continue their eternal war, while within and beneath them, animal-like programs and fungal digital entities thrive.

The moons located above the Ark sort the junk data coming from the outside and stream them into the artificial habitat. The first of these moons is named 'Gravity', that keeps the animals and plants anchored to the ground.

Next, we will look at the lucky species that were saved by the Digital World so they can thrive in the ark.

99% of all Shielded Cannons died soon upon arrival, having been immobilized, disarmed and deprived of their single energy source. The lucky 1% were immobilized, disarmed and only MOSTLY deprived of their single energy source - the air currents generated by nearby packs of Midnights were just about enough to keep them starved and barely alive rather than starved and dead.
Of course, when surviving off such a meager amount of wind, certain energy-saving adaptations were preferred. Thus, the modern Shielded Cannon no longer has an actual cannon, and it's armor is as flimsy as wet paper.

Due to the invasive nature of the Producers in the cave, Hunter Exiles have essentially no choice when it comes to food. As long as they eat plants, they're infected by either the hijacking of the Trolltans or the Cannibal Shrooms.

The ones who have adapted the best are the ones who compromise when their reproductive functions are subverted. They produce offspring at the same point where the mushrooms attempt to replicate, filling in the data with that of the mushrooms. Resulting offspring are thus deeply linked with the Cannibal Shooms.

A fortunate side effect is that the plant data 'fills in' the gaps in their data caused by conflicting viral and antiviral data, allowing both to coexist with it as the middleman. The Hunter Exile becomes less prone to degeneration as a result of this fusion.

Virellites have evolved further to exploit the behavior of Tashlinks. By sending out a viral signal, it attracts Tashlinks to it and forces them to spew out flames, consuming all its energy. This forces the Tashlink component to resort to simplifying its body just to have enough energy to 'attack' the Virellite's main body with flames.

The relationship is very exploitative and once its Tashlink components die of malnutrition, it sends out more signals to attract more tashlinks and the cycle begins anew.

While some Trotans find themselves having trouble maintaining sub-spaces, those who refrain from feeding on Magnetic data find that they can maintain sub-spaces easily.

Arrangements are quickly made between those Trotans who have trouble maintaining sub-spaces and these 'King' Trotans. The 'Knight' Trotans gather and bring data to the 'Kings', while the 'Kings' maintain the subspaces that Knights can use to feed on Magnetic data.

Lag Machines are several Snow Cams linked together. Three is the most common configuration, though longer networks have been found.

Their speed causes frost data to lag whatever they're hunting, as they eat the visual data from it. This eventually leaves the Digital Lifeform they hunt 'hollowed out' and die.

Because they're not pair-bonded with a Holographic-type offspring, they're only able to gain a paltry bit of nutrition from whatever they eat, leaving their hunting grounds rich in Image Data for any plant that is fortunate enough to grow in them...

It seems that they can't hollow out any of the Meschaton strains, though so they leave them alone.

As creatures continue to evolve, new biomes form.

The first of these is 'Fertile Soil'. Due to the feeding habits of Lag Machines (>>4526859) and the uncleaned excrement of the various animal-type Digiforms, patches of soil have become greatly fertile. Plants may evolve further to capitalize on this new kind of soil.

On the other hand, Stranded Magnets (>>4525457) and Weighted Towers (>>4526914) have their powers intersect in weird ways. Spheres of magnetized airspace have appeared, sucking flying creatures into them. Getting in is much easier than getting out and flying creatures who find themselves trapped in such bubbles will have to adapt to live in the areas with less/altered gravity.

Meanwhile, three of the moons have turned to reveal their faces and begin to stream specialized data into the Ark. For now, only plants may capitalize on these unique data sources.

The first of the moons is: 'Treasure'. 'Treasure' streams in data about precious metals and precious gems. Plants that adapt to this data source may begin to produce crystals or special metals.

The second of the moons is: 'War'. 'War' streams in tactical data as well as weapons data. Plants that make use of this data source may begin to develop more weapon-like appendages.

The last of the moons is 'Fairy': Fairy streams in data about moons and mysticism. Plants that adapt to Fairy may begin to exhibit magical properties that cannot be easily explained by scientific methods.

To be clear: ANIMALS AND PLANTS may begin adapting to the new biomes. ONLY PLANTS may begin to adapt to the new data sources.

Usually, it plays a beat that keeps herbivores away, but when it's covered with a lot of wax, it plays a special rhythm that causes herbivores to approach it.

While herbivores are close, it discretely sticks them with a thorn from which more Waxdrums grow when the herbivore dies.

While attaching to an adult Deschaton usially leads to a quick life, Fairy Hookers that attach to a young Deschaton can impede their evolution process.

The males become more slender and their armor less durable. For all intents and purposes, adult male Fairy Deschs exist only to eat Tower Sap and reproduce.

Meanwhile, females get a large buff, gaining two new appendages from their Fairy Hooker component. Females will compete for males and then defend the nest.

Concubines are allowed, but only in the sense that the concubine females become feeding cows for the head female's offspring.

Fairy Deschs will typically settle into Warded Spaces, expelling the Fairy Hookers that live there. Often by dismembering them.

Fairy Hookers deplete Warded Spaces quickly, so they live a nomadic lifestyle.

More biomes form as a result of creatures.

Warded Spaces are composed of points and lines where Fairy-typed data concentrates. Chiefly curated by Fairy Skimmers, all manner of Fairy-affected creatures get attracted to these spaces. It seems like reality gets a bit warped by the Fairy Data, so creatures that make their home here may start developing magic powers that they won't have outside of these Warded Spaces.

Cold Mountains are where Ice-typed Tsunots live. They hack the data there to be constantly cold and the cold flows from the mountains, down to the plains, greatly reducing the temperatures of the first level of the Ark as a whole.

Poop Piles are the designated shitting spots for the creatures. Here, Popshrooms grow in abundance, feeding on the junk data and synthesizing usable programs from it.

In addition to the new biomes, three new moons have begun streaming specialized data.

The first of these moons is 'Insect'. Insect streams in the tenacity of insects in the real world, as well as data that could be remolded to fit a more parasitic model of growth.

The second of the moons is 'Weather'. 'Weather' streams in weather data from the real world and can grant plants the ability to change the weather.

The last of the moons is 'Transmutation'. Closely linked to 'Treasure', 'Transmutation' allows for the synthesis of common materials into denser, high-value ones. Plants may impact their environment by changing common dirt into something more nutritious.

For now, only plants may benefit from 'Insect', 'Weather' and 'Transmutation'. These properties may be granted to animals if plants fuse with animals.

Animals that specialize in eating plants with 'Treasure', 'War' and 'Fairy' properties may more closely integrate themselves with data from these plants.

MOREOVER, due to the efforts of Obelisk-type digiforms, small chunks have been blasted off of 'Gravity', 'War', 'Treasure' and 'Fairy'. The chunks that rain down on the Ark can be potent sources of mutations for those near them.

Fairy totems diverge.

Those that are consumed by self hatred become corrupted and become corruptive in turn. They turn Fairy data into dark data and slowly corrupt any Fairy digiforms that sup on this corrupted data, making them aggressive and suicidal when there's nowhere else to turn that aggression to. Radiation from the Transmutation moon allows them to turn their territories toxic and hostile to life.

The fairy totems that are able to rid themselves of self-hatred fuse with the moon shard and become a positive force for healing. Energy from the Transmutation moon allows them to increase the value of their territory, transmuting it into Treasure-data.

Creepveins have taking in Insect Data in order to spread without the support of Tasklinks.

Their widespread surface area makes them highly efficient at generating food. Instead of defending itself, it simply feeds creatures that walk on it, passively injecting data that makes Creepveins appear as allied species.

Their control does not work well on viruses, but they thrive anyway in the magnetic regions. Their lack of metal properties allows them to stick to the ground while the other creatures fight in constant conflict.

Taking in Transmutation Data to create more powerful blasts, Alchemy Repulsors fly even further into the sky.

As a side effect, the globs of energy transform the ground rather than destroying them. Soil and earth is converted into a hardened crust, with sections of sand. Some sections are incredibly thin and brittle, breaking away into sizable sinkholes.

As the hardened crust can sometimes reveal valuable ores, certain creatures search these areas and fall into the holes.

Concrete Links transmute the very ash generated by their parent colonies to create highways of concrete. These smooth, stable structures are strong and resistant to corrosion, making them safe havens. But that very same smoothness and hardness makes them surprisingly slippery. Claw and hoof-type feet have a hard time getting traction, and hovering entities slide off completely.

Ovisalas' become fiercer and more aggressive as they incidentally absorb residual data from their eggs' hosts. Eventually, the junk code becomes accumulating, and many individuals grow disfigured or infertile, leading to the survival of only those who evolved special protective firewall 'seals' against residual data absoption.

Additionally, their nubs turn into wings, and their fangs grow larger and stronger. These morphological changes aid them in their new predation method; attacking small digiforms, hanging onto them and bringing them up in their, so as to have an easier time stabbing them with their larger ovopositioning stingers.

They develop 'nostrils', an amazing new organ that allows them to percieve traces of data left by digiforms, known as 'aromas' and 'smells'. These pheromones cause prey to become crazy, almost berserk, which may seem like a disadvantage for the Pugilists. The Fairy moon has been destroyed, sending Fairy data-charged Fragments raining around the Ark.

In light of this, a new biome called 'Ley Points' have been created. Similar to Warded Spaces, Ley Points exude Fairy Data due to being centered around a fragment of 'Fairy'.

Those who construct their bodies with Fairy Data must migrate to either Ley Points or Warded spaces in order to survive, or else, lose adapt to lose the 'Fairy' component of their data.

Additional forests have begun to sprout in the north. One of them is the 'Polme Forest', centered around a fragment of 'Fairy'. The other is the 'Orichalcum Forest', where Orichalcum-based plants and creatures live.

The original Northern Forest contains a mix of plants from the Polme Forest and Orichalcum Forest, but since it doesn't have a Ley Point, it is unlikely that the Fairy Data-based creatures will survive unless they adapt.

In the mountains, Creepveins create wide-reaching networks that boost the computing capabilities of Tashlinks. They grow mostly unimpeded, except for the cold spots created by the cold-aligned Tsunots where they cannot thrive.

In the south plains, the plants have been given free reign, except for the Warded Spaces jealously guarded by the Fairy Hookers. It seems that the Fairy hookers have become drastically more aggressive now that their main source of Fairy data is gone.

In light of all these drastic changes in biome, it seems the remaining moons have decided not to reveal their true natures yet.

To summarize:

Fairy-Aligned creatures must adapt to either the Warded Space, Leypoint or Polme Forest biomes or lose their fairy data in order to survive.

Everyone else must migrate to The Mountains (Magnetic Fields, Cold Spots, Tashvein Colonies), The Caves, the Northern or Southern forest in order to survive.

Additionally, a crater has been cleared due to a particularly large chunk of Fairy. At the bottom of the crater is a particularly potent Leypoint.

Please include what biome your creature is adapting to in order for it to survive.

The biomes are:

Leypoint/Warded Space/Polme Forest
Northern Forest
Orichalcum Forest
Northern Plains
Southern Forest
Magnetic Field (Mountain)
Cold Spot (Mountain)
Tashvein Colony (Mountain)
Caves
The Crater

Do to this urge they can be found in decent numbers across the Ark in locations with high virus counts. The locations they can be commonly found in are the two major forests, the Mountains, and the Caves. Due to their widespread and general weakness compared to most lifeforms they need to serve as the primary herbivore for much of the Ark. Due to the massive pressure this has put upon them Salas' bodies have become much more refined and almost all physical attributes have taken a fairly big step forward. However they're still far to weak to fight any animals but baby forms. The main changes have taken places structurally and behaviorally. After the fracturing of the 'Treasure' moon, Treasure Vases —Now known as Tresurbase— experienced rapid code degeneration, due to the absorption of corrupted 'Treasure' data. The glitchy strings of code present in their programming caused erratic changes in their composition and structure, which often produced unviable creatures.

However, in some specimens, these digital mutations were minimal or even proved to be beneficial to the survival of the species. Among the lucky bunch that survived were the Tresurbases, a digiform that had managed to circumvent further damage to their code via sheer luck and sharp cunning.

This corrupted creature evolved a complex method to keep it's glitches at bay. Their juvenile form, short lived and constantly experiencing technicolor visual bugs, devoted most of it's energy towards producing and secreting a virus attracting pheromone. Viral data, microscopic viruses, and bigger viral digiforms would be drawn to it, and infected the Tresurbase with their malicious code.

Tresurbases would then selectively incorporate the viral code into their programming, using them to block corrupted code, as well as storing their structural data in a 'stack', meaning that it could be easily .pop'ed out of it's genome when producing seeds.

Mature Tresurbases function similarily to their ancestors. They are able to absorb data directly from rain, but will often use their tentacle-like folliage to consume small hervibores by vore-ing them. In this stage, they'll focus on absorbing as much data as possible. Once they're full enough, they'll .pop the viral strings out of their code, and begin producing copious amounts of seeds.

Eventually, their glitchy code will corrupt the viral blockers, and the .pop'ed strings will grab the attention of Vaccine-type digiforms, which will lead to the death of the adult, and the spread of it's seeds through the stomachs of the predators.

Similarily to how viral code temporalily blocks the glitchy strings by scrambling them in an attempt to infect the Tresurbases, Anti-Viral code was able to quarantine the buggy data for some time. The seeds, protected by their seals, will begin to germinate and absorb data-rain. The warding code will eventually become corrupted, sending a signal for the digiform to digi-evolve into it's juvenile phase.

The Blackpalms' seed method of spreading is effective but it isn't as effective as it could be do to the seeds often taking root in less than ideal locations. To circumvent this issue the Blackpalms instead grow a baby form called Yuras. Yuras are significantly harder to produce then simple seeds but are capable of simple flight by catching the wind using a coat of white fibers and steering with two simple leaves. They use this flight to find an ideal location to evolve into a Blackpalm.

Due to the lack of arrays after the odd decline in reproduction the Holo has decided to be it's own array. The Holo has now submitted to Gravity and has rooted itself to the ground, due to it's method of flight being really wasteful and the fact it no longer needs an array. To compensate for the lack of an array the Holo gain the ability to actually use it's leaves to absorb streamed in data. When this wasn't enough it converted projection modules into a massive visual receptor and condense the Moon and sky visual data into a soil to be absorbed by the central body. To reproduce the Holo uses runners, roots that can make clones of the parent.

Concrete-Links, while well intentioned, often caused more troubles for the Tashvein colonies than they helped. Their concrete structures proved to be only slightly useful, and a waste of resources.

The ones that weren't culled by the colonies repurposed their data-transmutation abilities; instead of producing concrete out of the absorbed waste, they begin converting useless data into nutricious code-goop. They retain some of their infraestructural construction capabiltiies, and use them to build discrete and hard to notice pipes beneath their peers.

Do to the massive decline in viable Treasure data the Treasure Eggs are the result of Vases cutting down more and more on there Treasure data usage, relying on Virus data to compensate. That was until a chance encounter with a falling moon shard saved this soon to be corrupted lineage. The Treasure shard is the center piece of the Egg and generates a stream of data that the Egg greedily consumes and protects. Like their distant cousins the Fairy Totems they too are able to grow brand new shards, unlike the Totems however they have no data but that which is produced by their parents to use to construct their shard. To compensate for this they use their chain to lock up any curious herbivore that comes near. When they eventually consumes the plant's leaves, whether out of temptation or desperation, they are infected by a Transmutation based Virus that slowly yet perfectly converts it's victims into pure Treasure data to be absorbed by the Egg.

Redhotgeyser often burn themselves out, due to abusing their overclocking capabilities. Over time, these comatose tashlinks begin piling up, and the Tashvein colonies begin culling them off, due to taking up their resources. The ones that don't burn themselves out, eventually end up overheating and exploding, causing massive damage to their fellow Tashlinks.

Facing such strong enviromental pressure, the Redhotgeysers are forced to evolve. Instead of using their flames to heat up their enviroment, they become something akin to a blast furnace. Using both their folliage, and brand new 'sewage' pipes that connect them to their nearby colonial peers, they are able to take in undesirable data and 'smelt' it into raw code. This way, colonies are able to fend off viral infections, or prevent the incorporation of any data-type that may interfere with their proper functioning.

Gooplinks become the livers and kidneys of Tashlink colonies, maximizing their energy production via reutilization and detoxifying harmful substances.

There are many things within the Northern Forest that would gladly take an easy meal, even if said meal is something as small as a Yura. Do to this fact many Yuras are eaten in their search for a suitable location to begin their evolution to Blackpalms. This is made even worse by the fact that the Yura's method of flight is incredibly slow and completely incapable of defending itself. To compensate for this weakness the Yura has gained the ability to evolve into an intermediary form if incapable of finding a good spot. This form is in fact the primordial ancestor of all true tree forms, the humble BlackTane. Recreated from remnant code within the Blackpalm, the BlackTane is far more capable than the Yura. While incapable of flight or properly defending itself, do to lacking the it's ancestral mouth, it is far sturdier and faster than many of the weak baby forms that are most likely to prey on it. It has been broken, remade, and rolled back to earlier versions so many times to cleanse it of the fallen Moons influence that the spellwork contained within is highly corrupted, with only the fire based spells surviving unscathed. To stabilize it code from an Obelisk has been integrated, but do to the large difference between their versions only time will tell how it's code will hold up. The purpose of these reintegrated Totems is simple, to contain and exploit Moon shards. While Tashlinks are for the most part unintelligent plants, they are able to recognize that the moons are the only source of data in the Ark. While capable of using any type of shard the Totem is still only capable of producing Fairy ones, though it would prefer not to make any shards sometimes desperate measures are needed

Forgegeysers have improved their ability to produce War data by utilizing War fragments. Besides just providing a direct stream of data to the forge it also enhances it's ability to create new War data from other data forms. It's capable of doing this by utilizing the stable code from Reclaimed Totems. Due to fractured nature of the stable code as well as the unadapted form of the forge it is almost incapable of producing new shards and what few it can make tend to be corrupted. Besides the major change of the fragment storage the Forgegeyser has gained storage for data and has specialized it's overclocking for data conversion. The purpose of the War data it collects is to be used as a replacement for Treasure data, unfortunately it makes for a poor substitute.
