I had left FT3 for sparebits, to oversee assuming that 50 marines would have to peel off to prevent a flanking strike from EI at K9 during assault (this would take 2 orders). The other towers were armed, so this seemed more important.

If you're going to change your actions, you should delete your earlier post. I also don't care about that enemy infantry squad at K9 - if you want to fire on them you should use the bitanks or the Cruise Missile Technical, not our marines. That's what bitanks are there for. Marines are our only units that can capture points of interest, so we should be using them for that purpose.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, [PO]s, let me lay out our objectives explicitly, and in order of importance:

1. Get the Data Extraction team to the Spaceport. (I9-J9 squad -> F1-G1)
2. Extract the data drop at K13 (assigned to the marines & transport at I12 after finishing their current work)
3. Evacuate civilians to the shelter. (Various marine squads as opportunity permits)

In the interest of fulfilling these objectives, we are attempting to capture & secure the 3 compromised towers with Marines, including fortifying them (which will probably force us to peel off Marine Regiments). Depending on how we proceed with the two towers we are capturing this turn, we will either capture the 3rd tower at J11 or destroy it. Once the towers are dealt with we can freely use air units in the city.

Originally, we were planning on using Destroyer Task Force Bluegill to assist in transporting marines and civilians to HQ, but unless the enemy air presence is reduced, they're probably stuck in place trying to screen. So we'll have to lean on T-APCs and Pelicans more.

Bitanks and the CMT are there to provide fire support within the city, and should be used for that purpose before marines or other units.

I am sorry to be so nitpicky about the Marines' missions specifically, but it is my opinion that it's fairly important we give them the correct orders at the start of this mission. We'll have more freedom to be creative once the major tasks are complete.

The Minato ward is actually at 10% progress, 40 marines should get the job done as quickly as is possible without compromising the tower too heavily. There's also potential for a suspicious individual in our extraction team. Don't tip them off yet.

Sparebits, I hope you have a good plan for the destroyers and our reduced screen coverage, because we're committed now. Just take over naval/air operations for the time being. Clarisse, work with Sparebits & Lancer to determine if we're destroying or capturing the tower at J11, and execute on the final decision. The one recently captured is an auxiliary link tower. Unlike the red Armory towers this one is committed to Colossi support. Its special functions include the remote transferral of EN from its reserves onto friendly frames within a 3 km radius.

It also has a preemptive satellite uplink to our orbital defenses and can decrease the MTD burden of call ins by 1.

And lastly it has an orbital targetting system. that can screen a 1km square area. When this happens, any friendly ranged weapon can target elements in this square without regards to range limitations. However, this only applies to ballistic or missile weaponry. Most energy weapons reach a physical termination limit, but at the very least prevents Friendly fire in that area.

"By my calculations, see pic related, Using my full maximum movement while attacking would bring me just outside of melee range, and if I were to use my SPAS armament, it would bring me up one Length shorter, since its maximum movement is one less than that of my Photon Armament. I would still be in range with the SPAS, but allied ground forces and the Osaka Castle would be inside the line of fire, and the SPAS' performance just recently indicates that targets behind those initially affected are still damaged, so civilians would still be injured. On top of that, I have a maximum of 48 Damage left in my SPAS (4 x 12), and the Monke type has at least 51 HP and at most 92 HP remaining based on the punishment the one in the south took.

In conclusion, I am not immediately capable of destroying the Monke type. If you still wish it, I can take an extended time one turn of travel to get in range to safely down him with my photon armament, or if the casualties are acceptable, damage it, notably without destroying it, immediately can be done this turn.

The problem, however, is that it might leave a bunch of you exposed.
I can use the Zone Target Analysis function on the green/blue tower to allow all of you to hit, regardless of distance, the bug with a missile or ballistic weapon.

If I can get all red towers to fire on it, that would be 40d6 of damage, assuming that they aren't using energy weapons.

Aegis Command: As a final note, we all came to an agreement not to interfere with each others' timeline directly unless invited, Aeris Command in particular came about during the Martian Succession- her upbringing makes her unique in that her IO is based on a Terra Martian hero. So after running some numbers, excluding any returns we might get for the PO forces that were deployed, and based solely on the personal kills reported, we are sitting on a comfortable 206.837 MTD.

Purchasing Meta Lv. 2, Basic Training, Combined Arms Discipline, Gyro Core, Advol Modification, the Monk, and the Mt. Buster will cost us 94 MTD, putting us at 112 MTD.

If anyone else has an interest in getting Arsenal Conversion, speak now and I'll buy it. I am buying the MT. Buster so we have another long range option aside from the Arbite's rail cannon.

I am planning on putting some MTD into ainsible technology - at least one retro-evo research and one into alter information net for our next mission. I have a couple of ideas for tech research, however if you guys have some good ideas float them up and we can try it.

I'll be reserving some MTD for the Meta Lv.2 unlocks. I'll also be looking to reserve 60-50 MTD once all the shopping is done so that I can pair everyone with a PO asset at the start of every mission.

Also, if any of you are interested in being PO full time, post in thread. I want to establish some conventions for when we have multiple POs on the field.

"EXT-MB's just too short-ranged and doesn't have an AoE which makes the Arbite pretty mediocre below 3 Lengths. The ECD was good for this mission but I feel like it was in large part because this mission was a lot shorter. Might much more practical to remove the EXT-MBs and upgrade the ECD into a wave motion weapon. Something like a microwave gun, melta or flamethrower. Something with actual AoEl."

Could I ask you why you're interested in Shaped Polearm? It looks almost identical to the Pawn's Blast Knuckle, so unless I'm missing something it would only be used on a Knight whose existing armaments could be considered better.

It has reach which could have interesting interactions with close combat skill. +4 damage. Not sure what Forced is. But it has counter on defend, and that seems pretty hilarious with GC's aegis mode and the chevalier core.

Where do you see +4 damage? Both Blast Knuckle and Polearm have 20 damage. Forced means you must move at least 3L in order to attack with the weapon. I do not believe Polearm has a counter on defend, I think that shield is just there for aesthetics. Also, defend and "guard mode" are separate things, as is the "guard" from chevalier core. Defend is a one turn action you take, regardless if the effects last more than one turn or not (like you might get from Aegis Mode), so if it WAS counter on defend, it wouldn't last for multiple turns, just for the turn you defend. The chevalier core "guard" is a shield you gain on an arm that acts the same way defend does: it halves damage, but only up to a threshold of 15, but this is not the same as "defending".

Though I guess the close combat + reach might have merit? Then again, you should remember that you could do much better than 20 damage, especially for a melee weapon.

Ok everyone, our choice of mission looks to be either more X-types, Martians, or Shoggoths. Once we get information on the Shoggoths, I want everyone to vote for which mission they want to take. Right now I'm leaning towards the X-Cult or saving Hakone Mountain.

Before deciding that, that's a LOT of MTD to just sit on, and you could drastically increase the effectiveness of folks who have to eject, and of pawns very simply.

With that balance, could we purchase the basic and combined arms training, as well as the SRN Configurations?

It's also be useful to grab spares and shaped photon polearm, and PERHAPS (but not necessarily) Mt.Buster.

If we just grab the SRN Configs and Trainings, that leaves us with 74MTD

If you get spares, shaped photon polearm, and mt buster, that drops us to 41.

It'd leave us a considerable operating budget for the next mission, and also drastically increase the effectiveness of just about everything we have.

If you wanted the SRN config you should have attempted to convince Maj.Lancer when he asked what people wanted now its a bit late. It happens.

When Rift incidents started to break out during the 21st century, Nations begans to heavily isolate and millitarize, during this time many nations were all but at war with each other when monsters scoured high population centers in what was known as the "Rift Invasions" during this time, much of the associations that have given rise of the X-cult have begun moving here and may have been linked to theShogoths.

Shogoths: These xenobiological beings have been laying dormant in Earth's frozen poles, when the sea levels rose , icebergs became unstable in turn. A certain research site known as the "slanted continent" sunk under and released these gigantic creatures into the ocean. Humanity was spared an extinction event due in most part to these beings' inability to reproduce. However their use of ES Waves, have caused catastrophic chaos that set Earth back a century. As well, they seem to answer to an ancient heirarchal structure in which their creators had gifted them the ability to radically adapt for any task. Plasma, Fire, and Rending weapons proved effective, however these things tend to be limited when they are used in their favored environment in the arctic, or in deep bodies of water.

We'll get the exterminator configuration when we get SRN options for other Colossi. Right now only the Pawn-based frames can make use of it.

We're not buying the polearm because it doesn't seem to offer any advantages over the Pawn's Blast Knuckle or any of the Knight's armaments.

And we are sitting on that much MTD so I can deploy more non-colossi units to the field that Jockeys can now control. And those units add up if we want to do more than toss a few bitanks and marines around.

For single target raw damage the lance is probably the worst yeah, but it's value isn't in single target damage. It's a one handed defensive option that can provide two turn counters or domain (or both) with skill investment. It also is a 2L 30 damage AOE with ground boost system.

I would argue that the other knight melee weapons are hardly single target exclusive either, since they attack in an AOE as well. Also, a 20 damage counter on defends doesn't strike me as strong enough to base an entire build around, even if you get two turns out of it. I can see the counter from Close Combat, but where do you see the domain?

Why would I choose this over having the SPAS, which has a significantly larger AOE, much more potential damage, and doesn't force me to move at least 3L first?

The one upside I can see here is the two turn 2L counter, but that feels not strong enough to me to justify passing up the, in my opinion, far stronger alternate knight options.

Tashi stared up at the mech before him. Compared to the Rook he had piloted before it was a far sleeker machine and far more aggressive than the Pawn before that. Knight they called it. Melee oriented and flight capable. It was almost a Phalanx. Not as fast or efficient and the energy capacity left much to be desired. Yet it was as close to a Phalanx as he was likely going to get.

As he looked at his Knight, Tashi was reminded for the first time of the conventions of his home. Of Hyborea. Of the Core Knights. Every unit needed a name. A name to be raised in song for their victories. A name to be mourned at it's passing. Certainly he'd been assigned to gold team, and they had taken the name 88th Collosi: the Paradox Predators. It wasn't a bad name, but by the conventions of his home it was one more fitting of a fighter/bomber unit than a mechanized infantry unit. It itched he realized. Like his collar rubbing the scars on his neck. Something he could live with, but something he would always notice. At least this itch he could do something about.

Among the Core Knights even one man units took a name. Here among Mobius Force there were more than a few pilots with personal call signs despite being part of a larger unit. He doubted anyone would begrudge him doing the same. He spent some time then thinking of home while staring at his Knight. When the techs finally got tired of his presence and shooed him out of the hanger, Tashi looked back one last time at the mech saying, “White Reflection.”
