Your name is Gob, getting out of the darkness and decided to escape, last time you went back to the C.A.G.E floor of this research complex, releasing three prisoners: a mechanical man, a kid with a big eye for a head and a fluffy adorable creature. With them you've made your way into a basement formed by a maze-like system of tunnels, obtaining more information about the New Light Foundation, or at least its past.

Finally after taking out an 'Alpha' Guard, grabbing his helmet, and dealing with a bunch of doors, you've passed through a gas-filled room and found yourself inside the engines room, now you're at the power supply panel after messing with the controls.

Your current inventory is:

> Strange Watch
> Level 1 Keycard
> Tribal Mask
> "Morph Ball"
> "TS:1074-1080" and "TS:1500-1505" file boxes
> Light Rifle
> 'Alpha' Helmet

----

We're back folks! Welcome to Duke of Darkness quest!

Information

> Write ins are always encouraged!

> Rolls are mostly Bo3 with crit override (with 1-5 being crit fails and 95-100 being crit success). When it's not stated otherwise, the DC will always be 50

>Leave it like that
>Break the panel / Fuck thing up a bit more
>Uh... Just get the hell out of here

You need to get out of here, and leave it working like that could at least create a distraction, so you don't change anything. However, that seems to not be enough for your body, as you lose control of your right arm for a moment to finish the work, grabbing the lever and breaking it. Well, now -nobody- can fix it.

"We need to move, now," you say as soon as your arm's control comes back to you, "I'm afraid to say that gentleman was right, more of them are coming." you tell the group and start moving, not running but not walking slow neither.

The sound of the engines is incredibly loud now, the trembling hasn't stopped, and you can feel how the temperature rising in the whole room. It's even hard to hear the still triggered alarm when you pass through the gas room, using the same process as before: taking the helmet, walk through, and hand it to the metal man, coming back with the kid using it.

You've been looking around for another way out apart from the main stairs, but you saw nothing in the walls or the ceiling except for the small holes where the gas comes from. Crawling down the pit before didn't looked like an option neither, there were no ladders and you're pretty sure the machines were too hot to even touch them no need to explain, you could just admit you're a coward.

With no more options left, you keep walking at a quite fast pace with the others behind, until you get to the path division once again. Although you could get faster to the stairs turning left, you feel how the energy sources are coming from exactly that way, so you keep walking straight.

As soon as you step forward, you see a beam of light and your body instinctively reacts quickly moving to a side, and instantly you feel how a literal thunderbolt flies above your shoulder and crashes against the wall behind you. The metal man grabs the kid and takes cover behind the next wall, and you do the same followed by Rufus, not without looking to where the lightning came from. A second was enough to identify three armored figures at the end of the corridor:

The first is an armed guard identical to the one you left unconscious.

The second is taller and more strong-looking, not even armed.

And the third is thinner than the other two, but with red rays coming out of his hands. You instantly knew he was the one who shot that beam.

They all have the same red uniform, with that 'A' in their helmets. You could fight against that guard before, but now there are three of them and you're not sure about your odds here. But something is sure: if you're going to do something, be it run or fight, you have to do it fast, they're really close and already saw you.

> 106, Potential Unlocked!

"Run, I will keep them out of your way" you whisper to the group, the metal man nods, with the kid still in his arms. They both along with the little creature start to run away. This is the first time you've actually seen the man moving fast, even while carrying someone, impressive.

You reach inside your jacket, and grabbing the ball you feel its extremely heavy weight as you take it out and falls on the ground, cracking the floor a bit. It's made of a metal similar to lead now, but far heavier.

But the weight doesn't matter, you need to create a distraction, you are determined to do so! So you don't give up, and as you lift it you feel how it becomes lighter. You quickly notice it's not the ball losing weight, it's -you- becoming stronger, and the feel of a sudden rush of energy and adrenaline starts flowing through your veins.

As you get out of cover to throw the projectile at them, unsure of its effectiveness, you notice your body is becoming less solid too, like liquid or sand falling erratically and... Upwards. Showtime!

"Hey!" you shout, you feel you're in a state of absolute power, nothing can stop you now!

"Catch!" You concentrate a great amount of energy in your hands like you've always known how to do so, and the sphere gets wrapped in flame-like darkness.
"Shadow Blizzard!" you shout, as two voices echoing in unison, two words that sound like you've already said them before a million times, throwing the ball with an immense amount of force.

It leaves a trail of shadows as a extension of yourself, breaking the lights and even cracking parts of the walls, tainting with darkness everything around path as it flies through the corridor and finally impacts the big guard's faceplate, creating sparks and breaking the entire helmet into small pieces while the darkness pushes all of them as a devastating storm.

The thunderbolt one tried to make a shield with the rays in his arms but was quickly proved useless, and after shattering he's sent flying with the other two, ending smashed violently against the wall at the far end of the tunnel, making a big hole on it and staying sticked to the wall by the force of the darkness pushing them, even making parts of their armor black. You know two of them are unconscious at the very least, but the strong one is definitely dead, his skull completely crushed by the cannonball you just threw into his head with the power of a hundred cannons.

> [Shadow Blizzard] Unlocked!

The hellish dark wind stops after a few seconds after causing that tremendous amount of damage, and the once powerful-looking red soldiers fall to the floor like nothing, except for the one who's dead, his body is stuck inside the bloodied wall thanks to the impact.

Now the entire corridor is dark as the night, but you can still see through it.

The rush of energy flowing through every part of your system hasn't stopped, now nothing is controlling you to use such force, you're controlling this power by yourself, and although you feel like you just used an incredible amount of energy, you still feel invincible, unstoppable and ready to crush their heads too to ensure they don't keep breathing!

They're out of their way, that's what you wanted to do, you have to admit that killing the big guy was kind of... excessive, why would you kill the other two? why did you even thought in such a violent approach? You breath in and out trying to calm down and walk in the direction the others took.

Regardless of how much you're trying, you can't really be calm, your heart beats fast, you're breathing fast too, energy still flowing and the darkness of your body dripping in that unnatural way. You even noticed you're surrounded with some kind of aura too, even more darkness covering you like fanned flames.

Reaching and turning around the corner, you see the group runninh inside the 'archives' room again, are they hiding? Didn't they see the guards hitting the wall?

You keep walking, and get to the door, the lights are turned off, but once you step inside you can see more clearly.

They're poorly hidden behind a crate, you walk closer and stand in front of them.

" It's safe now " you say, but it also comes out like two voices, distorted, you can't recognize your own voice.

You look at them, and they're in complete and utter shock, Rufus, the kid, and even the man hugging him, all of them. In the short time you've known the mechanical gentleman in front of you, you've never seen him like that, scared, not with darkness, not with the gas, not even when people tried to kill you all, he's scared of -you-. They're all shaking in fear, stepping away of you, like they just saw the devil in person. The scene reminds you that old lady from before...

"It's me! " you try to say, but your voice is just not helping.

You try to continue explaining it's you, but before you could notice, the man quickly pushed the kid behind him, opened his finger, and spinned the wheel in his knuckles all the way to the right, Oh no.

A scorching fire burns your face, leaving you in screaming pain and blinded for some seconds. And when you look back, they're gone, and looking back you see all three of them running in direction to the stairs, moving close to the motionless guards and turning around the corner.

Didn't they... Recognize you?

Perhaps discharging all that energy will make the aura go away too. Smashing things should do, so you approach a near crate, concentrate all the energy you can in your fist, and punch it with extremely high power!

You not only completely smashed the crate into literal dust somehow whoever archive was there, it doesn't exist anymore, ha!, but you also released another blizzard like an explosion when you punched the crate. And now you feel really weak, not like to pass out, but surely tired, at least you don't feel that energy inside you anymore.

The whole room is completely dark now, the lights weren't on before, but you could at see, now it's just black, nothing to see, like a void, like... Uh... Wait, did you just wake up...?

You start to breath heavily and your heart beats fast again, but this time it's not power, it's panic. Then, you try to touch around you and, to your relief, your fingers feel the wall, it's just that the room is darker than before, somehow darker than a room with no lights... it's what you're seeing, as senseless as it sounds.

Using the wall as a guide, you move towards where you remember the door was, and you quickly reach it. You see the darkness spreaded through part of the nearby tunnels too, but you notice some distant dim lights, and apparently that's enough for your vision to adjust and see clearly through the corridors, and you instantly notice the shadow aura around you is gone oh hey, you were right for once.

Useful, but you still know your eyes shouldn't be able to normally do that, also now that you think about it... tainting walls with darkness wasn't something you could do before you got that power rush... You wonder if the spreading dark does follow some kind of rules or it just acts randomly.

But you can think about that later, the others just ran outside, and they could get themselves shot if they're not careful! You start to walk through the hallway, following the lights coming from the tunnel leading to the stairs.

In your way you pass next to the guards you took down some ago, the big one is still stuck in the wall with the ball smashed against his head, maybe you could just... Take the ball out of his skull to keep his dignity, also to keep the ball. Perhaps even check if the ones in the floor have more useful stuff.

You take a minute and walk closer to the alpha soldiers, the others can wait a little more and, after all, you know really well the metal man can defend himself and why would you help them when he tried to burn you alive huh?

You step in front of the dead guard in the wall, his blood made a mess splattering the metal ball and the broken wall behind him, and also poured into the floor creating a puddle just below him.

You raise your hand and put your fingers around the metal sphere, but without the power rush it's too heavy for you once again, making you almost fall with it as the weight and gravity acted when you took it from the crushed face of the dead man and fell into the red liquid. The impact appears to have damaged the ball, you can see some small cracks on it, and while you're looking, it morphs again.

After thr change, you see it's now a... Circular Mass of... Meat? It seems to be made of exposed tissues, red as the blood it's sitting on, the aspect of it is simply gross and now it has a putrid odor, not even the corpse smells that bad, it becomes even more gross when WHAT THE HELL? it opens a series of eyes through its whole surface of different sizes and shapes, looking and blinking, you can even hear a faint heartbeat coming from inside it... it's a really unsettling scene to see.

> Just pick it up coward

> No way you're touching that

> Write In

You continue to search in through the other guards' equipment. The electrical one seems to have cracked his helmet with the impact, as it appears to have some kind of black glass as a visor, and sparks come out of the damaged areas. The one with the weapon, however, seems to have a practically intact helmet, perhaps an extra one could be useful now that a little kid stole the previous one...

> (Another) Alpha Helmet Obtained!

After taking it you can see the soldier's face, and you realize not only his armor is similar to the one you took down before. This man is overweighted too, also with burn marks in his face, if not only for the fact that he has some brown hair you would say they're the same person! or at least family. His eyes are closed, seemingly unconscious, but considering the similarities, it wouldn't be strange if he also had that cross in his eye.

While you look for their pockets, and realizing once again that they haven't got any, your vision suddenly... changes its position?

You're now in the floor, you hear gas flowing, and you can see the doors you opened before... And then you instinctively breath in for air and the gas makes you almost instantly pass out.
>>
>>4541821

...or not? You're back in the corridor with the guards, you could swear you were back in that gas-filled room, like... -Exactly- in the place where you left that man that tried to kill you earlier. Was that some kind of vision? your mind playing tricks again? it felt too real...

Back to what you were doing, they in fact have no pockets, probably the only thing they have on them is their clothes and armor I mean, leaving them naked would be hilarious!

Well... With nothing else to do you probably need to go and look for the others but aren't you curious about what happened?

You don't think twice and take the bloody flesh ball from the ground.

"Would you mind coming with me, lad?" you say as all the eyes on it look at you

Before you save it, you realize the darkness is spreading quickly from your fingers to the living sphere, and suddenly you feel it twitch, the eyes blinking erractically, a faint sound you could only compare to a dying animal coming from inside. It only takes a second for the ball to be covered entirely, you didn't even have time to let it go, you can still feel its fleshy texture, but now it's completely black, no eyes, no heartbeat, no movement, just that void-like color.

You keep looking at it for a few seconds, you somehow weren't expecting that to happen, and with nothing else to do you just put it back into your jacket.

> Morph Ball (???) Obtained, again

Regarding the others, well, they flamed your whole face, they can flame other faces without your help who needs them anyway. You walk back through the tunnel, now black like newly-painted with darkness, heading to the engine room again. The sound of the loud machines is impossible to ignore at this point, and the ground shakes as you get closer. You put on the helmet while you walk, it has the same map and red vision as the other one, and once you get to the gas, now closer as it has spreaded even more, it doesn't affect you.

You walk inside the gas-leaking room, and the armored man is still laying in the floor, in the same spot you left him, with his uncovered painted black. You get closer, a circle locks over him in the helmet, and the "HR" line appears, but now it barely moves.

With all the smoke around you can't really see much, perhaps moving him would be helpful. You've already seen your touch doesn't work in their armor, well, except like 5 minutes ago, but that was different, somehow, anyway, you take his hand and try to drag him out , damn, he's FAT. You succeed to do so and take him to a part of the corridor with not so much gas, but it's clear that extra strength you had before is gone as you had to make a bigger effort and that left you even more tired.

With the gas out of the way, you take the helmet off and inspect the man, and notice he's still breathing.

All of a sudden and without warning, you hear a extremely loud explosion coming from the engine room, the sound of rocks falling and everything around you starting to shake violently. Then, another explosion, the few red lights left in the corridor turn off, and your vision doesn't take long to adapt as it's now usual.

And while you were thinking in getting out of here before the walls start to fall down, the dark face of the man reveals two bright lights as he opens his eyes and appears to be having a seizure , uh...
>>
>>4545415

Before letting you do anything, he touches your face and without a reason for it you lose your breath for a second as a series of scenes flash through your eyes:

- A bunch of views of an infinite yet beautiful night sky.

- A blinding light in front of you, with two figures behind it. "Scalpel." you briefly hear the voice of one of them, with beeping sounds in the background.

- Yourself, like looking through the very eyes of the man.

You gasp for air as your eyes pass through the last image and back to your normal point of view.

The man lying in front of you has his hand in your face, no iris in his completely white eyes but you know he's looking directly at you , what a freak

You take his hand away, and he does nothing about it, just lies in the floor looking at you, not even the kid or the eye-covered ball made you this uncomfortable.

The ground below your feet trembles, and you still hear the alarm, the engines left working fast, the debris falling, the place is a complete chaos and you know it. But even with all that around you and him, the man doesn't stand up, doesn't try to run, absolutely nothing, just stares at you. The situation is once again reminding that you need to get out of here.

> Take him with you, he will most probably die if you don't!

You have no time to drag him out of here with all that heavy armor on, but you definitely won't leave him to die here.

The walls shake more and more with every second that passes, so you'll need to do something quick. And then an idea hits you: taking off the whole armor would take too much time, and all things you save lose their weight, so why don't you just save -him- inside your pockets? wait what?

And so against all logic left, you grab the man, still staring at you with his white eyes, open your jacket and with your weak arms you barely manage to actually... Stuff him inside the pockets... As everything you save in there, the weight completely disappeared. Well, maybe you had some doubts, but it actually worked, somehow, and if you were doubting about the jacket storing capability, now you're one hundred percent sure this thing isn't normal, very comfy, yes, but not normal.

> ...A guy? Obtained!

You'll think about how are you going to get him out of the pocket later, now the trembling floor won't let you, so you've got no option but to run. Without the extra weight you head towards the end of the corridor, though you're really exhausted at this point after moving that guard with no extra strength, the sound of the ceiling falling behind you is a great inspiration to -not- stop. You run past the other guards in the ground, maybe you stepped over one of them, but you're too worried in escaping to be careful anyway.

You reach the stairs and dash through them, the engine and crashing sounds become distant, just to be replaced with another kind of chaos upstairs.

You step into the cage floor again, and you instantly hear all kind of sounds: gunshots, growls, explosions, mechanical parts, screams, even music. It's not so hard to know the cause of the chaos, because you only need to see at the cages to spot that -every single one of them- is open, also the lights are constantly turning off and on , so... Those engines used to be a power source? splendid!

"Code black, code black. First floor. All security personnel required." that woman's voice with no emotion in her tone again, echoing over and over among all the sounds.

Quickly looking around, you see a bunch of guards near to you shooting, being slaughtered and tossed around by... of all possible things, that same hellhound again... great. You can't see much from this distance but it appears to be almost fully covered by the black parts by now, only half of its head and upper body not touched by the darkness.
>>
>>4549127

You also see a group of guards chasing a man, but not shooting. He's running while playing a flute and is dressed in a colorful attire, he's even dancing as he runs. You think he's the one you heard before, what a funny fellow.

Fire is all over the place, and some of the guards are being burned alive, but you can't find the source of the flames. And finally while looking up you notice a lot of birds flying around, of all colors, sizes and shapes. You're not even sure if most of them are actually birds, though.

The amount of guards down here is massive, like they deployed a whole army in this floor. It's obvious that the things you've seen so far is just a small part of the chaos in here, judging by the sounds and smoke coming from the distance.

You know where the exit is, yes, but you won't just leave them to their own luck in this trouble. You start running and in direction to the destruction and not the doors. If they were running without a clue where the exit is, they must've gone that way.

You run avoiding the guards, distracted enough by the things that got out of the cages. You almost get hit by one of them who was sent flying against one of the empty cages while set on fire, but you can't stop moving right now.

"I'm so sorry"

"Excuse me"

"My apologies"

You say to some of them as you keep moving, as it's kind of your fault they are now dealing with this... Situation they tried to kill you, like, a lot of times, remember that?. You're -really- exhausted since you got rid of that energy, your breathing is heavy and your legs are tired.

You stop for a moment, you need to regain your breath once again, you've never felt so weak since you got out of the dark, can you just... Rest for a minute?

The answer seems to be no, as you see how a flame different to the others 'walks' into your line of sight leaving a fire trail behind. It seems to have a humanoid shape, with the only thing that isn't fire being its black eyes. You look at it, it looks at you, you don't know its intentions, but you surely don't want to end as a human torch.

"Hello fellow gentleman. I'm searching for a eye-headed kid, a robot man and a strange 'dog'. did you happen to see any of them?" you approach the fire individual, "And sir, let me add that you look like a pretty stylish man." and you compliment his appearance , for some reason.

He looks at you for a few awkward seconds, and then points behind him. Well, that was honestly easier than you thought. Although he's pointing to a path blocked by more fire, it wasn't fight or flight, just dialogue like civilized... Uh, persons? blah blah blah

"Oh, thank you for your help sir!" you say as you start moving towards the way he pointed, and the flame just continues its walk.

Once you get near the fire, you try to look around it, but it's full of smoke, leaving you unable to see to the other side. That fire person had no reason to lie or to say the truth... so you just have to surround it.

And that's exactly what you do, turning to other side and walking around the corridors made of empty cells to get to the other side. You find guards dealing with... Giant spiders, and even more fire in the way, and you get easily around them too, they are too distracted with those around arachnids to mind you anyway.

You notice there's not only fire around, you see holes and debris in the ground, liquids, hair, even pieces of wood and ice. You still hear a lot of mixed sounds, even if the others were calling for you, you wouldn't hear them, and two of them not talking at all doesn't help neither.

"Watch out! AAGH--" you hear gunshots and that voice before the person who said it and a few others get thrown at you like ragdolls.

You fall to the ground, a person hitting you at that speed surely hurts, and taking the seemingly unconscious guard from over you, you distinguish the figure of a big, white-haired ape, with burn marks all around its body and screaming in a wild manner.

It's receiving light bullets like nothing, and it tosses around the few guards around it, a really mighty creature... And a deadly one, too. Please stop admiring that thing.

Its anger-filled eyes make contact with yours for a second, and not like the fire man, you instantly know that it's -not- going to reason with you.

Aight, rolling time!

I'll use the negative effects (injured + exhausted, -25) to make another possible outcome instead of just subtracting it in your rolls, so technically more chances of success, but one is less positive

Roll 1d100, Bo3

1-50 - It catches you

51-75 - It doesn't catch you, but you don't lose it either

76-100 - You escape without problems

Yes, you're definitely running. You stand up as fast as you can and start rushing in the opposite direction, with the big monkey just behind you and hearing its loud and quick footsteps among all the noises around you.

That man falling over you didn't really help in running but it's stopping to hurt as you keep moving. The thing that doesn't stop is the extreme fatigue you're feeling, that boost would've helped if it happened -now-. Not even a minute running, but you just can't breath normally at this point, are you... Sweating? That should be normal, but it's the first time that it's happening to you in all this time, you need to rest, you just need air... but you can't, that thing will catch you if you--

you trip over your own feet and meet the ground once again ...damn.

And, in less than a second, you feel how your legs are grabbed by the monstrous primate. You hear it scream as it touches you with its strangely cold hands, but doesn't let you go, lifting you upside down in front of its face.

"..." you just can't say a single word as it stares at you screaming erratically for a few seconds, and you can feel its almost freezing breath, the smell isn't pleasurable either. It probably can't understand english anyway, because it's, quite literally, a monkey.

And the it -smashes- you against the ground, one, two, three times, like trying to break a coconut. You feel like your bones are being crushed over and over, you should be dead by now, but at least you're still here, that's good.

Four, five, six, it smashes you once again, even more pain. You find it curious how being crushed against the tough floor over and over feels kind of... less painful than those bullets or even the fire, your vision isn't even blurry yet... And you're still not dead somehow, huh.

Seven, eight, nine, it's getting more violent, screaming in what you think is combination of rage and pain, for the darkness spreading in its... Oh, it's arm is already completely black, that's strange, considering it probably took more than an hour for the beast from earlier, and that one is not even completely black yet. It's spreading faster, for some reason.

Ten, eleven, twelve... Well, you're in quite a sticky situation, your body hurts, maybe a lot, yes, but the pain starts to fade kind of quick, probably would take some minutes if you weren't being smashed over and over. But, what can you do really? That thing is way bigger and surely stronger than you, it received bullets and doesn't even look affected... so, any ideas, genius?

If you're just hanging here close to it, you could use the help of your trusty spherical object. All your stuff should've fell off of your jacket by now after all that shaking, but luckily that hasn't happened, and to be honest you're already used to this piece of clothing being like no other, and quite handy, you might add. Talking about shaking...

-BANG, BANG, BANG-

You're smashed against the floor once again, that creature really doesn't know how to stop, doesn't it? and it sure hurts!

Using the few seconds between hit and hit, you reach into your pockets and take out the ball. You feel the familiar form of the sticky and green appearance, well, could've been worse.

You throw it to the big monkey's ugly face when you have the chance and it, not being that big, lands and sticks in its right eye. It screams furiously and, not letting you go yet, shoves you against the ground a few more times, you can assure that the experience of breaking your bones again and again isn't a good one. There goes half of its vision, but, how is that helpful?

Huh, perhaps you can throw another thing of yours, something you are wearing! You know what you're talking about, ...of course you do, you're kinda... talking with yourself... your hat!

The darkness has crawled to its chest now, and if touching your dark body makes it spread, touching your headwear should do the same! Or not, you hope it does. So, you take your hat off thing that you didn't when you used that "bucket head", for some reason and prepare to throw it.

-BANG, BANG-

Not without hitting the ground two more times. And now that it lifted you and you're at its height again, you do it, you throw the hat. Given that you were pretty close to its head, aiming for it was quite easy, and it fell where you wanted it to fall.

The tiny hat in such a big head looks silly, but the important part is that it worked! The upper part of its head started getting painted black and, this time, it appears to really bother it enough to let you go and wait wait wait! leave you falling from that height.

Gravity does its work and you violently hit the ground a final time. Your whole body hurts, but when you look back at the white ape, it seems to be trying to reach the hat making its head turn dark while still screaming.

Suddenly, you hear a mighty shriek louder than all other sounds around you, coming from... Where you were going to! They could be in real danger right now, and getting away from this monster is what you need to do anyway but this thing started the unfair fight, return the favour! Ans losing the ball would be a shame, don't you think?

Oh, look at that, your hat is back! Or something like that, because you can still see a hat up there in the creature's head.

Finally, you notice the ground below you is shaking. Maybe you could say it's by the giant primate footsteps, but it trembles softly even when that thing is not stepping. And are those pieces of broken floor starting to... Fly? Yes, definitely something strange is going on with the ground too.

Forget it, you value your own life you do? and you've got people to help. With the gigantic monkey focused in trying to get the hat off, you just start to run and turn around a corner to return to your way. Your legs may hurt but you have more important things to think about right now.

You move through the disaster that this floor has become. Dodging a pair of more flying guards, jumping over a few corpses, and seeing more strange creatures as you pass through the cage-made corridors, you keep running, following the basic direction that kind fire stranger gave you, and the source of the shriek.

"Stop!" a guard stops you aimimg with his gun, that may be a problem--

Oh, nevermind, his visor got broken and his face got quickly covered by a weird spider-flesh-thing, less work for you.

You run past the screaming man and continue. As you get closer, the ground below your feet shakes more violently, and you see bigger pieces of the floor, the ceiling, and even whole cages flying, seemingly in direction to where you heard that sound, where you are going.

"Contact!" you hear a pair of voices near you.

They're guards, red armored, 'Alpha' ones, trying to kill a humanoid and tall creature made of... Uh, purple mud and moss. One of them is shooting, the other is using lightning, two things you've seen them do before. Chunks of the creature are falling to the ground with every blast and leaving puddles all over the floor.

You let them be, why would you bother them anyway? Then, after a some more turns in this maze of destruction, you see it.

The source of that mighty scream, and the thing attracting all those materials like a magnet, and most importantly, the thing that got -them-.
>>
>>4562596

With a green eye-like light in its center, moving its big and monstrous tentacles made out of a combination of debris, metal, and kind of... Everything, and surrounded by some kind of green energy, a thing bigger than any animal or monster you've seen stands in front of you, reaching all the way up to the ceiling. You can clearly see the kid, the metal man and the green hairball trapped inside its limbs, trying to free themselves by all means without any success.

The myth of the legendary kraken instantly comes to your mind, and the incredibly intimidating creature instinctively makes you take a step back that thing is HUGE!.

A dozen of highly disposable, as it seems guards are shooting up to the immense rock octopus. Pieces fly off of the creature and get reattached fairly quickly. There's three 'lightning' alpha ones doing the same, and their blasts seem to make more damage than the weapons, taking larger pieces off, but, even then, the tentacles go back to normal seconds later. All this combat is what is making that 'magnetic kraken' scream, but aside from that, you see no real damage being done except for the damage -the guards- are receiving. Like mere ants fighting against a titan.

You really don't have anything to say, no joke, no plan, you... You just know they are going to get crushed to death by that thing if no one does something soon...

Aaaaand that's the end of part one, I think that was a good enough scene to end it. Thanks to the anons that stuck around! i really wasn't expecting to have more than 2 players at first lmao.

Anyway, life's been getting busier and busier these last months, so I will really need to take a break from QM'ing for a while. I sadly don't know when I'll be able to run again but I assure you, I won't forget about this quest in that time what can i say, i like where it's going, and i still have a lot of stuff planned for it, and i'll probably plan more stuff.

Oh, also I drew a bunch of kind-of more detailed portraits, first time i actually show grey's face i guess.

Thanks for playing, everybody!
