due to Syllugs early passing, his son Ydela grows up to be a neurotic and reluctant ruler, widely unpopular with his people
--------------------------------------------------------------
In light of our recent discoveries, it would be unwise of us to upset the people further.
Though our disdain for them hasn't diminished, we wager that it would be better for everyone involved, if we were less antagonistic towards our subjects.
The guards agree, leaving us to once again be embarrassed by thinking out loud.
We really need to stop this.
Though dismayed by our still apparent hatred for the common folk, our headguard shows empathetic for our troubles.
While he agrees with us to an extend, suggesting that, while it is the people's shortsightedness that has caused this animosity, that we as the supreme ancestor, should be above this sort of behavior.
We could argue with him about this, we're very much capable of tearing that logic apart, but he's got a point.
We concede and agree to set things right, asking for a suggestion on how to proceed.

After a brainstorming session with the guards, we have a good idea on what to do.
Now with a plan, we set out to reconcile with the people

In the town square, we get up on a podium and shout for their attention.
As a couple of people turn into dozens and dozens into hundreds, we take a deep breathe and apologize.
We apologize for our disregard of the commoners, we apologize for our misbegotten attitude toward them, we apologize for not living up to our namesake.

As if this wasn't humiliating enough, the response we got was mostly silence, a few concerned looks and a couple of boos.
...
We.
Are.
Seething.
...
...and return to the palace, this was a mistake.

Orza, Bado, Ezza
After repeatedly prostrating ourselves in front of our subjects, not only in the capital, but every major city, we have thoroughly embarrassed us in front of everyone, in an effort to improve public perception.

The only place where our "apology" was well-received, was in Ongiza, and even then they didn't like it.

Are we out of touch? No, it's the commoners who are wrong.
We hate these "civilized" people more with every day that passes.

No matter, there's other business to take care of.
Though shidroz is nigh-impossible to refine and requires a lot more effort to produce than anything bronzy, it is still many times cheaper, so the realm sees an increased production of low-quality shidroz items that sell like fresh bread.

We saw it with our own eyes, peasants walking around with shoddy shidroz tools, too poor to afford bronzy.
Though crude and cheap it may be, shidroz still seems to last longer when put under stress, than bronzy does.
We're sure it'll take the realm by storm soon, if it hasn't already.

Lara, Orzo
We are currently on our way to Ürallux, along with a small fleet of colonists.
Two weeks prior we have arranged for adventurous ongizaz to settle a city in the new world, to provide aid for our growing colonies.
We are coming with them, to search out a good spot, and to bless the ground they'll built their settlement on.

Bixa, Ezido
Having landed on the Iba Buzrun, we set up a small camp and begin to survey the land.
Though previous colonists have claimed the southern side of the river without the natives minding too much, they haven't actually settled here and the land is sparsely worked.
These flat grasslands seem fertile enough for us, and we bless the very land we landed on.

With this, the ongizaz begin to build their settlement.
I stay for a few weeks to help them with the essentials, cutting wood, plowing land, sowing seeds, building homes.
These early homes are made out of wood, rather than sturdy arize, and we wager that the other colonies look like this as well.
We should start exporting arize to the colonies some time in the future, until they have their own supply.

Though the ongizaz population back home is now reduced, the new world will soon have their own, ready to defend the colonists from native incursions.

Iga, Laramo
We have returned home, full of energy and optimism.

Lara, Laramo
And as soon as we got back, reality came to rear its ugly head again.
The temple doesn't quite know what to do with the ancient texts, they question their validity.
We don't have the time to argue about this, the boulder text has been accurately translated, there is no mistaking that it was written by Aitlaz.
Of course, this begs the question for the clergy, if Aitlaz was a man, but not the first one, how could he have created this world?

Nothing speaks against Aitlaz being the creator AND a random ancestor, but the clergy argue that this is blasphemy, metaphysically impossible.

Though they like us just as much as the rest of the empire, they at least recognize our authority still.
We order an assembly of all priests to discuss this topic.

Bida, Zoxo
The clergy of the realm have assembled in the palace.
The great debate begins.
Soon, the hall is split into several distinct camps.
On one side, the Denialists, who say that Aitlaz was the very first ancestor, no matter what.
On the other side, the Concessionists, who claim that Aitlaz was possibly not the first ancestor.
Though we have a preferred choice in the matter, our interference has only further split the room.
Denialists have splintered into Trialists and Creationists.
Trialists argue that the old understanding of Aitlaz is the only correct one, and that the boulder text was merely a divine test of faith.
Creationists assert that, Aitlaz simply created himself, thus rendering him both the creator and the first ancestor.
Concessionists meanwhile have splintered into Cyclicists and Literalists.
Cyclcists pertain that the universe resets itself periodically and that Aitlaz, while not being the first ancestor over all, was the first of our cycle and may have very well created it too.
Literalists insist that Aitlaz was neither the creator, nor the first ancestor, as none of this is described in his own holy words, that we have translated.

We're not versed enough in this matter to actively interject, not again, but we must steer this conversation somewhere, or else it'll never end.

Iga, Zoxo
After we steered the debate in favor of our preferred view, the assembled priests disbanded for the day to come up with better arguments.
Now that they're back at it though, the denialists have dwindled in number over the course of today's debate.
Less than a handful of ardent trialists remained, who have been excluded from further debate and shunned from the community.

By the time the sun sets, lesser arguments have been thrown out of the window by all sides, descending the whole room into a relentless shouting match.

Cyclicists adopted the stance, that as contemporaries of Aitlaz, only pure-blooded Boxdony can be considered legitimate Ancestors, rendering all else Abdaxa.

Creationists argue, that if Aitlaz truly were from a previous cycle, then as the creator of ours, it would stand to reason that he has created his wife as well, rendering him the only legitimate God, invalidating all aspects and his wife.

Literalists concluded, due to Aitlaz and his ancestors being from another reality altogether, that none of this matters, if nobody is truly divine, then there are no Gods, there can be no Gods and that worship is evil.

It's up to us now to bring to bring this to an end.

>>4544675
After some deliberation, we have come to support the cyclicists again, after all, they are our favored party, it makes sense.
With some further back and forth arguing, our word has finally put an end to this.
We now officially support the stance, that barbarian peoples, are no longer people, they are in fact Abdaxa.
Of course, this raises the issue of the status of the Remz, our true and loyal allies.
To avoid this issue entirely, we simply recognize them as civilized, despite their backward ways, they have potential.
This retains their status as inferiors, without jeopardizing our relations.

Lara, Zoxo
The priests have returned to their communities, the creationists have conceded to my judgement and the literalists have left the empire in protest, we won't be hearing from them again any time soon.
normalcy is returning to the realm, for the moment.

Though the concept of record-keeping has been with us since time immemorial, the loose nature of ancient records poses a problem for current generations.
We think it is time to reform the way we understand record-keeping and prevent future generations from having our problem.

As such, we have reached the conclusion, that history must not only be written down, but also understood.
Hence, all official records must from here-on out, contain the date of the recording, the names and occupations of the witnesses including those of the author.
This is to ensure the accuracy of a document and enables us to confront spreaders of falsehoods.
Further, to get a better grasp of the situation in an area, all recorded events, must contain the location at which they were witnessed, as well as the location in which they were recorded.

With these reforms, you issue a decree, that anyone withholding or falsifying information about their name, occupation, time, or location toward a wiseman, will be considered a small-time traitor.
This offense is punishable by burning.

Due to how recent and massive this reform is, documents with missing information are still rolling in, but we let it slide for the rest of the year, let people get used to it first.

These reforms however, require a new kind of job, one that we cannot possibly do by ourselves.
We have the wisemen work double-time for the time being, for extra pay of course, but we really require court historians to keep track of these new, massive documents that we have just created.

Word has it that, apparently, a revolutionary discovery has made its way here from Ürallux.
Colonists who shared their fields with the natives, reported consistently higher yields than people on the mainland as well as the more established colonies to the south.
After some deliberation, the colonists figured it must be because of the fact that different crops are being grown at different times within the same year.
This has lead colonials to split their fields in two and have their growth alternate periodically.
A technique which has now reached us here back home.

Bixa, Ezidamo
Disturbing news have reached the palace.
We have been informed that the Geldoz are on the move once again, though, and this is most bizarre, away from our borders.

Not all Geldoz are moving however, only a few groups on the edge of the known world.
While other geldoz groups are creeping closer toward us, with intent and great ferocity.
This is evident in the fact, that those seeking to migrate to our sphere are fighting the local geldoz populations, rather than the neighboring Veliokaz.
Perhaps the Geldoz are not the unified entity we thought them to be, they might just be a collection of related tribes.
This is evidenced by the emergence of a splinter tribe bordering the Aduadugz, who have struck an alliance with them, likely preventing this tribe from migrating.

Whatever the case may be, they are fleeing from something in the west, and simultaneously moving further south.
Only our venerable ancestors know what this could possibly be.

Today appears to be full of surprises, as in the middle of night, we are awoken by a messenger from an unknown tribe.
We are informed that they are the Kybrenn.
As we have had no prior dealings with these murgandaz, them contacting us first comes as a surprise.
It appears as though, it is not without a drawback.
The Kybrenn find offense in our outlawing of slavery, and have sent this messenger to us to complain about repeated raids of our border villages into their territories.
The situation appears so dire to them, that this messenger has been sent to speak on behalf of all Kybrenn tribes, not just the ones we've offended.

We inform him, that we will look into the issue and that pressing us on it, will have little results in their favor.
Disgruntled, the messenger leaves and we return back to bed.

Iga, Ezidamo
Word has reached us through merchants, that the Dourigzoz have claimed the lands north of them.
It matters little to us.

Bada, Zoxamo
Despite our unpopularity, we still have an empire to manage, and finding somebody who sifts through the proverbial mountain of documents stored in the palace.
Thus, we dispatch a few wisemen with the task of locating mentally able subjects and bring them before us.
We put emphasis on able, not willing, we doubt anyone would willingly support us.
Now, wait wait for the results...

[By the power of Greyskull, I break the Tie]
Lara, Igamo, Vola, 129
We have located a person whose talents will serve the Empire well.
Her sorting skills are precisely what we were looking for, and from this day forward, she serves us as our court historian.

Orza, Igamo
With everything of importance settled, we decide to leave the Palace behind for a change and roam the lands as our great ancestor once did.
Hopefully, this'll win us some favor with the commoners.

Bada, Laramo
Our first stop is Murgandari
Though we are estranged from our family, due to our apparently lesser birth, they don't treat us nearly as hostile as the rest of the empire.
We use them to take care of local affairs without letting the locals know it was us.

Iga, Laramo
Next on the list is Balzari
Boring as ever, there's no a lot going on here.
We have been convinced to help the local honey-maker with his bees, but that's about it for our stay in this town.

Orza, Laramo
Moving on to Iza'oryn
One of the largest towns in the Empire, there's always someone here to complain about something, this was our most grueling experience yet.
Burdened with heaps upon heaps of guzbene work, we stayed a few days longer than intended.

Lara, Orzamo
We have made it to Odoba
Quite the desolate place, despite its size
We suppose that's what a city built on nothing but trade and crime feels like.
Whatever is going on here, the locals want us to have no part in it, suspiciously so.
We leave, having accomplished nothing

Bixa, Ezidamo
Off to Borgari we go
As usual, a most bizarre fashion is being demonstrated by the locals, clad in long dresses decorated with green-dyed feathers, even the men.
We're inclined to call them walking bushes, but keep it to ourselves.
Though they don't like me, they're certainly receptive to my support.
Word here has it, that far to the east, human trafficking is being committed.
We solve some local disputes and gather more information on this trafficking business, before leaving for our next destination.

Bada, Zabamo
We have arrived at Ouvinari
And we have done so at quite the opportune time, a mine at Bendi Ouvina has collapsed and a dozen workers are trapped inside.
We grab a pick and hammer away at the debris along with the other workers.
Soon, they let up at the sight of us participating and merely stand back, letting us do all the work alone.
The smiles of the rescued workers fade as they realize who we are.
Having already been antagonized like that, we order them to continue their work or face execution.
They comply and we leave the city.

Bixa, Zabamo
Sailing down the Iba Ouvina we have reached Ibalebe ahead of schedule.
We buy a few trinkets to commemorate our stay here, but the locals seemed to have no issues.

Iga, Zabamo
At last, we stop at Ongiza
Here, we are welcomed like an Ashgizo deserves
After a small feast, we get down to business.
The Ongizaz have little problems and none that would require our attention in particular.
CUT
>>
CONT
However, they are grateful for our visit.
We thank them for their hospitality and go on our way.

Orza, Zabamo
Destination Bolgobadzi
The locals here don't mind as much as the heartlanders do, but they're still negatively predisposed toward us.
We assist them with a crime investigation that is currently going on, apparently a notorious thief has been robbing people left and right, everyone in town has been stolen from at least once.
This is quite a feat, considering the size of the city.
Though we didn't catch him, we brought the investigation closer to it.

Bixa, Zoxamo
On to Lapyo
This lovely town has no hostility or hospitality to offer us, oddly enough.
Townspeople have reported seamonsters lately, some kind of an all-consuming, giant fish, that can swallow a man whole.
Other than that, they have no issues to really look into.

Orza, Zoxamo
We have returned to the palace, for the moment, and prepare to take our precious friends along with us this time.

Bixa, Igo, Zendaga
We have arrived in Ürallux where we plan on supporting the colonials in their building efforts and work out some arrangements with the natives whose territories we are encroaching on.

[Begone TIE!]
With his majesty gone....again, I have been appointed his regent.
I sure hope he comes back.

His disappearance has caused a bit of an uproar, good and bad
Entire villages are out there, cheering for his demise, I'm having none of that, that's blasphemy.
I have celebrators arrested and judged by fire.
Barely anyone walked out of it alive, good riddance.
I'm trying my best to keep his empire in pristine condition for his return.

Some years later, I'm witnessing the strangest thing.
A couple of priests and very pretentious people, have come out and call themselves "thinkers".
These uh...folks, do a whole lotta thinking, wow who would have guessed?
Allegedly, they're thinking about the questions that faith doesn't answer.
That does sound like some top-tier heresy, but they're not trying to convert people, so I'll let it slide for now.

One question that they say can't be answered by the Sun and Moon is that of the nature of man.
By which they mean, what's my purpose and how I'm supposed to do it.

After some thinking (wow) they reached a conclusion.
Man I sure do care about what the thinkers have to think.

They start spreading their message, something about responsibility.
I can get behind that, that is very important, I could see that being my purpose.
Even his majesty took responsibility, even though he always said he didn't want it.
What a great and honorable man, I miss him.

I allow the spread of these thoughts, let's hope it'll help the blasphemers appreciate his majesty more.

[No, Tie ... I AM your breaker]
His majesty mentioned something about raids on a neighboring tribe before his disappearance.
Today, a messenger told me all about it, I told him to shut up and take me there.

Me and my kinsmen have arrived at the scene and are looking into the issue with the local Kybrenn.
After some investigation, it looks like there really are raids on the Kybrenn going on, but not by loyal subjects, no.
This scum is raiding the locals for slaves!

I order a crackdown on this slavery and torch this particular slaver village myself.
The kybrenn messenger has left while I wasn't looking.

The crackdown has lasted several years, but I think every last pocket of slavery has been rooted out.
The Kybrenn prove grateful to his majesty's Empire and open themselves up for trade.

I gather the troops to end the eburonez once and for all.
I send a small scouting party ahead to assess the situation.
They return bruised and beaten, but alive.
I send in another team but the same happens to them.
Clearly, this isn't working.
The rest of the troops are unwilling to fight when the enemy doesn't even want to kill them.
Instead, I decide to forcibly relocate people from the heartland, into the frontier zone.
If these murgandaz can be reasoned with, then they will see the error of their ways soon enough.
If not, there's always plan B.

Everything is going smoothly, but after just two short years, I get an urgent message
It looks like the Geldoz are on the move and fighting the western tribes.
Lesser Geldoz tribes united against whoever is driving them toward us.

I send out messengers to all neighboring tribes
I'm sure they've noticed the western menace too.
All messengers return with a message of their own.
Most outright refuse an alliance
The Aduadugz though, accept
And the Menapaz are willing to send a token force of volunteers.
It's better than nothing I guess.
I send out messengers to the western tribes and warn them about our coming, not that these idiots attack us by accident.

I raise a humble army of 2000 and march west
though the other armies are lagging behind.
the Remz are the furthest away, but we're marching in their direction anyway.
the Aduadugz are pretty far as well, and we're going away from them.
the Menapaz volunteers are barely worth mentioning, but they are close and we're headed for them.

[Alas poor Tie, I knew him well]
We meet up with the Remz army and continue west.
I talk my way through the Adrebadez territories until we reach the Bellovakz, where an army of Geldoz is facing off against an unknown enemy.
I give the order to back them up, but the enemy retreats before we could get engage.

The Geldoz pursue them, the Bellovakz tell us to get off their land and push us toward the Geldoz.

Now in Geldoz lands, the Aduadugz and Menapaz have caught up with us.
I organize them into a better fighting force.
I order the allied army to march west, where we last saw the Geldoz.

We found the Geldoz, but it's already too late.
The enemy has slain their army with few casualties of their own.
I can't even make out who belongs to which side.

Going further west, I'm stopped by a few Geldoz villagers.
They tell me of terrible monsters just a day's travel west from here.
They don't want me to lead my army to their doom, but I do what I must, for his majesty's empire.
After that, the villagers mumble something about me being one of "them" and runs off.

We rest for the night, the next morning, the village is abandoned.
I give the order to continue, until we arrive.

Here in the far west, where I can smell the sea even in land, I run into a surprise.
A friendly army...?

I mean, they look friendly to me anyway
udgohishi colored uniforms
wooden armor
and bronzy spears

I get closer to them and wave
They come closer to us too
They're looking a bit confused, they didn't expect us either it looks like.
As them and us get closer to each other, I see the issue.
They're not reinforcements at all.
Their armor is off
Their spears look weird
And that's a wholly different shade of udgo

Those are murgandaz!
I order the allies into formation

They're not responding though
At least I don't see them doing anything
Either those are damn good actors, or they really are friends

They shuffle haphazardly into formation themselves now after some shouting from the back.
The voice comes closer
Looks like that's their commander

An old man steps forward, thin, but very well-built for his stature
He's uncomfortably tall, especially for his age
That man stands at least a whole head above me.
To my shock, he greets me in perfect boxdony, but in a funny dialect and a terrible accent

We chat for a few moments, then he orders his army to stand down
I do the same

I can't believe this, this is Axot, son of Loiur
He doesn't want to fight us, he's here to destroy the Geldoz.
I'm not one to complain, it's a good cause.
But our allies are against it and want to leave.

Well, since the murgandaz are throwing a fit, I guess it's time for us to leave.
I wish Axot good luck and order the army to turn tail and march home.

Four weeks later we reach Bibragz, where the Dourigzoz and Aduadugz disband and return home to their territories.
The Remz follow us back to Ouvinari before they return to their villages.

Now that I'm at the palace again, I let his majesty's wisemen give me a report of what happened in my absence.

It looks like there's unrest in the east...again
Apparently, this is normal
Ugh, why
How, by everything under the sun, did his majesty deal with this?

The troops are still raised, maybe I should use them to stomp them out for real this time

[T-t-t-tie breaker]
I'm tired of this nonsense
I send the army to deal with the rebels
This campaign should take no longer than a few weeks.
Starting south of the Ege things are going great, better than expected if I'm honest
The rebels are dead and their homes set on fire.

Two seasons later it turned out, I was being tricked
Tens of thousands of villagers fled north across the Ege and organized a proper resistance.
They've been harrying my soldiers for weeks and I can't do anything about it.

It's time I go there myself.

I arrive in the northern territory, what is now the rebel country and I gather my men to get a better idea of the situation
Yeah, this looks bad, from the 2000 I assigned, I've already lost 600.

Now with 1400 left, I go on the offensive against the rebels, for real this time.
Spies report a new rebel leader, having settled near the coast on the Kybrenn border, taking several colonist villages hostage.
If anything happens to them, there will be no more eburonez to speak of in the future.

I make my way toward their capital, so I can catch them on their way out
Halfway there, scouts report of a large rebel force coming toward us

I order the men to dig in and set up some defenses, we need every advantage we can get
As the day passes, we manage to build some small palisades and earthwalls
it's not much, but it will certainly help.
I order the army get as much rest as they can before the rebels arrive.

The next day, the rebel army has already arrived and set up camp opposite of us
I wake the men and help them prepare for battle

Now that everyone is ready and in position, we wait for the rebels to make a move
But it looks like they don't want to
clearly, they want to lure us out so we can't rely on our defenses.

Hours go by and my men tell me there's something weird going on
I run back to the palisades and watch

The rebel army has made a move, but it looks like someone has stopped them
whoever that is, he's talking to what looks like their leader

>take the chance, attack the rebels

I'm curious what in the world this is about
I tell my men to stay ready, and then go out

The conversation stops for a moment, they look at me.
The rebel leader, a young man, no, a boy, no older than my son.
And a bald man who's missing his entire right side, covered in so many scars it's hard to say what is and isn't normal skin.

The bald man says they're discussing their eventual defeat.
What, like, my army's defeat? I'll have you kno-
The bald man cuts me off, not like that he says.
He knows the rebels will lose
He knows the army will suffer many losses
He's here to prevent unnecessary bloodshed.

I'm not impressed
I'm here to prevent bloodshed too, that's why I gotta kill these troublemakers, before they cause more death.

With a deep breath, we explain why exactly, a war is undesirable for everyone involved.
Afterall, it is our duty to look after the people, no matter how much it may hurt.
Byodesh doesn't quite seem to grasp it still, he may be a fine warrior, but he is certainly no man of the mind, that is for sure.

While we may not have gotten through to him, it is evident that he recognizes me, took him long enough.
Whatever the case may be, he stands down for now and retreats, we advise the commoners to do the same, this is not what they want, we know, they know, they just have to admit it.

A few days after the incident, a messenger finds us in our village.
We don't know how who told him where we are, but neverminding that, the message is of greater importance.
Byodesh has announced our return and has formally stepped back as regent.
This is a less than opportune moment, but we are extatic.
Our family seems concerned by this outburst of joy, reminding us that this is precisely the opposite of what we desire, and they're right.
Life's never-ending misfortune is the source of our strength after all, how can one be a Man without adversity?
Our wife sighs in defeat, a relatable response, really.

We make our way for the palace, upon our return we are welcomed like a Hero by the Guard.
We ask them to quiet down, though we are happy to be here, this is quite inappropriate, we do not deserve praise.
Our wife later apologizes on our behalf, we didn't authorize her to do so, but we suppose she had a point.

It is good to be back.
Time to continue our journal.

Lara, Zabo, Vola 136
Now that we have returned to the palace, we believe it time to impart our knowledge unto others.
We have learned a lot on our travels and we believe that it can benefit the empire at large.

We call upon the Guard to gather in the palace yard, and to bring their weapons along.
The Guard seems to have misunderstood the order a little, we cannot fault for them this slip up.
They appear to have gotten the impression, that they're here to kill someone.
We assure them, it's nothing like that, we are here to teach them.

Many react understandably perplexed, we never taught them squat in the past, why would we have?
Even now we crave to be released of responsibility, so why then would we, out of our volition, do such a thing?
We never struck them as a warrior before, and they're right, we weren't.
Things change however, we are now.

We order them to drop their shields and grab their spears with two hands and then observe and repeat as we do.

Positioning our left hand at the aft of the hilt, and our right claw at quarter length.
We instruct the guards to hold the spear in reverse to what we have done, after all, we are no longer right handed, yet they remain so.

After this, we hold the spear diagonally down, the point touching the ground and demonstrate an upward slash
This is followed by a diagonal downward motion toward the dominant hand's side down to chest height, using the weight of the spear and our movement, to propel ourselves around our own axis, resulting in a spinning slash, back to the point of origin.
This move is rounded out, by a quick twirl of the spear within the dominant hand and the subsequent re-adjustment of our hands' position back to what they were at the beginning of the demonstration.
From there, we stand forward on our dominant foot and do a quarter-spin while the spear is still on the side we left it, from whence we twist our body a quarter-spin toward it, holding it firmly in both hands, and executing a powerful half-spin slash.
At last, from this position, we twirl the spear yet again, this time forward in a shielding manner, to return it to our dominant hand's original position once more and into a powerful forward thrust, utilizing the full strength of our core.
Ending the demonstration, by returning to our initial parrying position, with the point on the ground.

This series of motions and variations thereof, helped us survive and overcome a great many challenges in the past.
We suspect that, should one of the Guard ever be forced into personal combat, that utilizing our experience, will help them survive.

Impressed by our finesse, many Guardsmen request personal lessons, we calm them down and promise the whole Guard mandatory lessons on spearmanship, on every third day of the week.

[truth is, Tie was broken from the start]
Iga, Ordamo
during another training session, a few Guardsmen approach us after witnessing us practicing our throws in the yard.
They request we teach them this art as well.
We oblige and have them show us their ability first.

They do a couple of decent throws, a few loiur in distance, nothing shabby.
After that, we start correcting their forms.
Their non-dominant leg has to be outstretched behind them in a diagional, the foot angled on its toes.
Their dominant leg has to jot forward, quarter bent, like a halfway kneel.
While taking this position, we instruct them to twist their torso as far back as they can, and turn back forward at the end and release the spear.
Doing so, they put far more of their body weight into the throw, and results immediately show.
We are however not satisfied with the result and show them how its done.

From a running start, we slow down by running sideways, like a crab, already having turned our body backwards during these steps.
Upon turning forward to get into throwing position, the sheer force behind our throw lifts us off the ground for the blink of an eye, and upon landing we release the spear, performing the same stance that we taught the guards.
Needless to say, the spear flies off to who knows where, and the guards scramble to find it for us.
Upon finding it they tell us, that we hurled it somewhere around two unibi, an unheard of distance for any kind of throw.

Impressed by what they perceive to be raw strength, the guardsmen are reaffirmed in their choice and wish to learn our secrets.
We tell them that we will give throwing lessons every fourth day of the week from here on, if they feel so inclined.

Now that we have been in power again for a while, tales of our deeds are seeping into the general populus.
Thankfully, our name has been obscured through a series of retellings, we cannot imagine the dissonance it would cause our people to hear of their despised lord doing good.

One of our favorite stories coming here from the colonies, is the tale of Üryd Ezesh.
Üryd Ezesh killed a sea monster, plaguing an innocent fishers village.
Armed with nothing but his spear, he jumped off the cliffs and into the sea, where he swam around for 5 weeks.
When the monster reared its ugly head, it tried to swallow him, but Üryd Ezesh did not falter.
He swam into the maw of the beast and killed it from within.
In truth, we only waited for a few hours, and the "monster" was just an unusually small and aggressive whale.
We did swim into its maw, but it never swallowed us, we didn't fit any further.

Bixa, Zoxamo, Ezza
After more stories cropped up, we managed to catalog them and write down most of them, they sell surprisingly well and are poised to become a proper source of revenue for the throne.
That said, it seems that our name has been morphed into Üryd Ezesh across almost all of these stories.
A few also properly refer to us as Ydela, but still go out of their way to attribute the title Ezesh to us.
It appears that time we were struck by lightning, really burned itself into their collective memory, for good or ill.
