8=pleasure world

You come from Vexis II, also known as the black pearl, a small temperate planet hidden away in the obscure void of Imperial space. It is not present in most records of the officio administratorum, and its location is a closely guarded secret. And it is not the Inquisition that has purged this world from the files, but a cabal of extremely affluent and wealthy Imperial aristocracy, galactic traders, and Cardinals -whose months-long revelries and exotic celebrations teeter on the edge of acceptable Imperial morality. The feasts and … occasional… excesses of its guests are best kept in the dark, for the betterment of the Emperor – ofcourse.
Vexis II hosts a comfortable almost-tropic climate, with white beaches, rolling golden hills laden with vineyards , and white palatial complexes shining out over the untouched plains and forests of Vexis II.
Its ‘’personell’’, or permanent inhabitants, number in the few millions. A planet of luxury, unaccustomed to any upsetting of the status quo. Nevertheless, old formalities have ensured Vexis II has its own Planetary Defence Force, though nothing more than a tiny skeleton crew mainly used for policing drunken nobles – and only with severe restraint.

(You) were comfortably sitting at your office, leaning in your fat chair, playing a little ‘’qst’’, drinking a glass of whiskey that is ten times worth your annual salary, smoking a cigar that fell out of some Cadian Arms dealer’ pocket, when the centuries’ old alert systems started buzzing red and ruining your lazy day.

>>
OP how much more rolls do you need ?
>>
(you) are, in fact:

>Philladelphia ‘’Phil’’ Collins, a mountain of obesity and grease – the notorious walross-moustached balding ‘’Commander’’ of the Vexis II PDF. Age 56, accustomed to comfort, averse of violence. Slippery like an eel, your expertise lies in avoiding conflict and sussing up to the upper-folk that visit your fine, fine world. Has a preference for Garloid Wine.

>Randy ‘’Bobandy’’ Snortfish, a fat, merry little man, who lives only for what he can put into his little happy mouth. 40 years old. A cook, a connoiseur, a lover of life. Moisturized, happy, stays in his lane. You host weekly feasts for the PDF officer core, which are a great success. One day you hope to put your signature dish in the famed restaurant Lafleur – the best restaurant of Vexis II. PDF commander, and star-cook?! By the saints, you can do anything Bobandy!

>Rick ‘’the snick’’ Princecock. A young lad, only 29, lanky and with sunken eyes. Put here in ‘’seniority’’ position as the commander of the local PDF more as a way to keep him from embarasing the esteemed Princecock family. Yes, you have f-ed up, more than a few times, and that one time with the Tau-hookers was out of line – even you admit that. But this place? Youre a Princecock, surely you can do better dan the PDF! Still, you can feed your degeneracy in this place without much trouble. Powders line your nostrils, bottles roll over your bed. The PDF? Who cares about those lazy schmucks, youre a better shot than any of them.

you got 1000 imperial credits, what did you spent it on?
>basic uniforms (150)
Nice smooth fabric, golden stitching. What colour do you like?
>local made autoguns (150)
A makeshift collection of confiscated nobility firearms and mediocre quality autoguns. Who needs to shoot anyway? Just make them look imposing!
>ornate lasrifles (150).
These dusty tubes are centuries, if not millenia old. Gilded, heavy with rubies and imported ivory. Who knows if they still work? Nobody still breathing on the planet ever seen them shoot.
>Imperial quality lasguns (350)
Reliable, accurate, able to kill most things with ease. Sadly ''most things'' is not coming to your planet.
>flak armour and helmets (400)
Worth more than your pdf's, thats for sure.
>Grenades (100)
>heavy weapons cache (250)
A storage at the cellar of the brothel-district has some heavy weapons under tarp and dust. What and how many has since been forgotten...
>officer training (150)
fat, decadent, but with a little guidance they are veritable tyrants
>Infantry equipment I (100)
backpacks, belts, compasses, knives...
>Infantry boots (50)
>respirators (100)
>flamers (200)
Used for pest-control; mostly rodents and escaped pets
>food supplies (100)
enough food stored away to keep at least the PDF fed for a few months
>medical supplies (100)
>fuel (100)
>communication equipment (100)
>basic bureaucracy (100)
A system that records the state of the PDF, ensures that enlisted actually show up.
>Basic training (150)
This is my rifle...
>old Imperial manuals (50)
>advanced combat drills (300)
''Imagine that bag is a lictor''
>cigarettes (50)
>alcohol (50)

>>
>>4562297
combat stims(100) for sure

>old Imperial manuals (50)

Should be enough to at least not die instantly. I think the plan here is to organize a full evac of the planet or hide until reinforcements arrive. I don't know what fleets we have but I suggest we tell them that death is coming and they better get ready to fucking bounce.

If I remember correctly they are very mobile but lack numbers and are kinda squishy. Yeah, they die horribly all the time. You know how stories of everyone but the Guard has the guard horribly ineffective and shitty?
The PDF takes that role in guard stories. They die as soon as the threat arrives, or get nearly wiped out with a few hardasses surviving.

What the guard can handle, the PDF can't. What the Guard struggles/ gets ass raped by, the PDF has already died.
They're the "Oh shit this a threat button" for lower threats, like Guards are for the usual threats in stories.

But as 40k is exageratted, they aren't entirely useless, just like the guard aren't worthless. Its just that you only hear about them dying horribly
Usually they're actually pretty effective, like how the guard is the standard for the imperium and thus pretty successful, despite dying by the legions when space marines show up

it's just that there's no story if the PDF isn't horribly murder raped or that the guard manage to fight back against the chaos fuckers

Unless the story is centered on them
>>
>>4562674
Well odds are if the Guard doesn't show up, that means the local PDF dealt with it themselves, and PDF success stories probably only stay local to the planets they are from.
>>
>>4562700
Yep. Hence why I said that they always show up to get brutalized. There's no story if the threat is stopped at stage 1. But no one wants to hear that, they like to read of struggle, heroism and danger and grimdark bullshit . Not pdf actually doing their jobs
>>
>>4562704
PDF probably go through their own grimdark bullshit, to bad GW doesn't explore too much into that area a bit more, just average life of menials and PDF, local every day stuff.
>>
>>4562297
Local auto guns for 150 since ripped off noble weapons might not be bad
Flak armor for 400 because aside from armor it also can serve as a uniform
Heavy weapons for 250 because come the fuck on
Officer training for 150 because capable officers matter
Infantry boots for 50 because I only had 50 points left.

This one has multiple votes, but mind you the regular troops do not have regular firearms with this budget

A suggestion would be to exchange advanced combat drills with local autoguns and either basic training or officer training like >>4562750
>>4562316 did
Or you wanna have PDF armed with nothing but handgrenades and imperial prayers, and thats cool i guess, just checking.
(Heavy weapons cache will provide only a few heavy weapons for strongpoints)

Tried to correct the plan
Do the PDF currently have sufficent supplies not to starve ????
>>
>>4562766
>Imperial quality lasguns (350)
Lasguns are versatile enough that you can use them as mini-meltabombs

>officer training (150)
we need dipshits that know how to boss people around while under fire

>advanced combat drills (300)
we need dipper shits to be whipped hard enough to keep fighting even when they think they shouldn't

>fuel (100)
fuel (promethium) is versatile for civilian, military, and Molotov uses.

>communication equipment (100)
Need to be able to shitpost through the vox network.

We can't afford the luxury of basic uniforms, autoguns might as well be nerf guns, ornate lasrifles are chinese quality flashlights, flak armour has always been as good as cardboard against literally everything in this universe so they might as well be wearing no armor at all, we have the las rifles as grenades, the weapons cache is tempting but too expensive, they don't need food supplies when you got xeno corpses and corpse starch, you don't need combat stims when you can take a bite out of a drukari.
>>

+1 to that, without basic bureaucracy we will have much less dudes, but with fuel for vehicles and everyone properly drilled, we maybe can keep up with deldars hit and run thing.

Pretty high I guess , that is if he doesn't die due to anal trauma ?
>>
>>4562859
That'd be mercy compared to what the dark eldar have.

Really, being killed outright is a mercy to the dark eldar. If there's one race you DON'T wanna get captured by, it's the people whose entire civilization is about torture.
>>
Also I really feel like the suicide pills should've been on a shopping list. Because it's fucking deldars we're talking about. You do not want to be taken alive.
If tactics will be next, we need to find a bunker. There is no way we can cover the entire planet from attacks
>>

>>
>>4562871
>if you're not a super powerfull being
considering the emperor's state, it's not fun for them either

generally speaking, unless you're an ork then 40k sucks. that's it, even normal peasants who live their entire lifes in peaceful imperial worlds get their souls gobbled up by demons once they die.

There were many things you could have done during your last few boring, alcohol-mellowed years as PDF commander of Vexis II. Many of the things that were expected of you, such as parades, clean uniforms, proper supply chains, or even simple records stating who was in and who was out; and you neglected most of them. Who the f- cares anyway about some PDF on some black-mail ridden prostitute wineworld.
But they don’t call you Rick ‘’ the snick ‘’ for nothing. You might like a good party, but you have the blood of heroes in your veins, and there is nothing more relaxing than hunting deer with a boltgun. You were disgusted by the bloated, slow figures in the PDF; ‘’men’’ who had never been under fire, and were afraid of the noise their guns made. Men who couldn’t run a mile if their lives depended on it.
Forget about parades, forget about your damn food too – take care of that yourself. Forget about your pay, but you WILL shoot when I order you to. Thats what you told them.

>Nearly half the planet’s (arguably very small) defence budget was used to acquire top of the line lasguns from a corrupt imperial munitiorium captain – causing some poor starsystem to be without their ordered guns. You tried the lasguns out and they turn everything they aim at to molten slag.

>The rotten bloated officer core was kicked out and replaced with your cronies; old friends, indebted smugglers and other semi-criminal figures that needed a new home just as you. They have their faults, but they are loyal and sharp. You spent a considerable amount of Imperial crowns to making their lives comfortable, with proper living accomodation and good equipment; on the condition that they put the local PDF’smen into soldiers they could use. The PDF might look like a criminal enterprise, and you cant guarantee your ‘’forces’’ arent involved in some ‘’side work’’, but at least it works properly, and is able to kill to deal with ‘’competitors’’.

>The soldiers, many of them new recruits, were trained into the art of war, with some simulations even portraying mock Orcish or Heretical incursions to the planet. A high amount of frequent combat-drills has made the PDF trigger-happy and overestimate their own worth. They will fight with eagerness – for a while.

>a vast amount of fuel was stored in warehouses across the planet, allowing your forces mobility and speed for their un-armoured vehicles. Promethean and other sources can also be used as improvised explosives, and you may-or-may not have housed a few thousand barrels in the mouldy cellar of some unruly nobleman.

>state-of-the-Empire communication equipment was ordered, coming in the same batch as the misplaced Lasguns. Vox-communications, planet-wide warning sirens, radio, sattelites, antenna, you don’t know the specifics, but you should be able to communicate with Human Strongholds and units on Vexis II as long as they hold.
>>
While you were sitting in your office, staring at the red screens and becoming half-deaf by the warning sirens, you receive an encrypted communication by an old rogue trader associate of yours, currently escaping Vexis II orbit with his vessel.
>When you read this it will be too late to run
>Drukhari slave raid
>Dont try to fight them
>Hide
>*Put a pistol in your mouth if they come for you*
>*Emperor Protects*

Drukhari…? It takes a while to remember what that old basterd is referencing to. You don’t hear that name often; and usually only in grim-dark stories told in seedy bars. Are those things even real? But if the stories are correct then you might be in big trouble. You don’t panic, you take a moment to think. Get yourself out of this Rick. You got this.

Choose!
>inform the planet an xenos invasion is imminent, activate the PDF and conscript the ‘’esteemed guests’’, who usually have sizable bodyguard detachments with them.
Evacuate the planet’s guestss at Vexis Prime, the capital of this world. It houses the only star-port with most of the star-faring ships present there. There is also the Governors Palace, an old but surprisingly well fortified compound in the midst of the city that could serve as a base of operations. You are PDF Commander, you will protect the people of this planet!
>Keep the news under wraps, they will find out soon enough. Mobilize the PDF and gather your forces at the Van Beek estates. Its a grouping of palatial complexes and ranches in a sparsely populated corner of the planet. Forests surround the structure, and its infamous wine-cellars go down for miles – the rumor goes.
The citizens of this planet can defend themselves, for what its worth.
>Go to Van Beek estates with half of the PDF, send half to Vexis Prime. With some luck the drukhari find you too much to bother and go for juicier targets.
>Drukhari makes you shit your pants. Gather whatever men are in the area, and head down into the bunker-cellar of the PDF HQ office – and lock the door behind you. Its time to pray and hope ''they'' skip you.
>Warn the populace, tell them to stay put, conscript what you can, and spread the PDF evenly over the major population zones. Many targets is better, no? You can go where you like (Vexis Prime, Van Beek estates, PDF HQ office cellar, palatial sewers, etc.)

Meanwhile get in communication with the officers under us so that we can give them orders and prepare them, and they will delegate to their soldiers. And start putting all our equipment on us and prepare for battle.

>inform the planet an xenos invasion is imminent, activate the PDF and conscript the ‘’esteemed guests’’, who usually have sizable bodyguard detachments with them.

There is no time to waste, options of hiding in the fortified basement beneath you flash across your mind ,as well as running into the wildnerness, but you are the PDF commander of VEXIS II. You raise your chin in pride, like a Princecock ought, and you hope you do not come to regret your pride

you activate the PDF and order an immediate mobilization at Vexis Prime, where most inhabitants are currently being woken up from their lounging cocktails and erotic fantasies by blaring air-raid sirens. You take your car and speed over the highwhay to the Imperial Planetary Palace. The situation there is already chaotic; the unruly nobles and decadent-rich officials are milling in the street in panic and uproar at the disturbance of their ‘’holidays’’. Cars and vehicles are gathering in the squares, and everyone, from the highest techno-feudal chieftain to the lowliest pdf infantryman, is coming behind you towards the Imperial palace.
How much time is left, you wonder. Hours? Days?
Any and all personell on the planet is currently racing towards the capital. Perhaps it was a dumb idea to concentrate everyone in one spot, perhaps it wasnt. You hands itch to fire off a round from your pistol.
At the gates of the Imperial Palace you are greeted with a detachment of local PDF who followed your orders to mobilize, as well as the gilded bodyguards of the Planetary Governor with ornate lasmuskets who eye you suspiciously.
The Palace is a great complex of steel, cemex, and brass, towering over the city like a shining mountain. It also houses one of the vew VOID shields able to withstand planetary bombardements and how many chambers it truly contains nobody knows for sure.
The planetary governor is an relic of an man, well over a century old, who may or may not have become demented. His name is Fredrick deSolvay III, and he doesn’t take kindly to those who interupt him. Nevertheless, formal control of the entire planet lies with him.

>request an audience with the planetary governor, inform him a xenos invasion is imminent
>inform the planetary governor you are declaring martial law and that VEXIS II is now under your direct military command – for the time being. You will take the palace as base of operations.
>Ignore the old man, he has no use for us and we cant waste time. Set up an alternative base of operations at the Star-Port of VEXIS II. It is a great complex, well fortified, though it lacks military emplacements. A small fleet of private space-faring vessels and tradehulks are stationed there.
>>
>>4562924
>>4562918
I doubt you would get the nobles to dance in the streets when word is spreading out a xenos raid is imminent. Perhaps at gunpoint...
Explosives may or may not be placed in certain locations during combat operations, depends on the situation really. You have a lot of fuel stored at the city depots however...
>>
>>4562955

>>inform the planetary governor you are declaring martial law and that VEXIS II is now under your direct military command – for the time being. You will take the palace as base of operations.

Frame it as a minor break in his celebrations and that we will handle it posthaste. He can relax while we figure everything out as this is clearly beneath him, send a bunch of whores and drugs to keep him occupied while we set up. I think we should also get in touch with that small fleet if we can, perhaps send some of the faster ones ahead to scout and give us an ETA on the elves?
>>

He might have some shit cached away that could be helpful. If he's too busy partying or doesn't really care regardless of how much we try and talk with him then we go with option B.

Tell him we have to get him to safety, but really we are just taking him somewhere to be bait so we can kill some raiders. >inform the planetary governor you are declaring martial law and that VEXIS II is now under your direct military command – for the time being. You will take the palace as base of operations.

Anyone who doesn't report for duty, or is just not even worth giving supplies or ammo, gets to be bait, since I doubt we have any "commissars" to motivate them to be fodder.
>>
>>4562962
I like this; only change is can we use any of the least combat capable ships as kamikaze/fire ships against the Deldar? Maybe power them down and deorbit them on top of the xenos landing zones when possible?
>>4562972

I like this too. However I suggest that any of the nobles that are being ‘problems’ get offered safety in the SUPER SECRET SECURE UNDISCLOSED LOCATION WITH LOTS OF DRUGS AND WHORES BUT BECAUSE ITS SO SECRET IT WONT NEED MANY GUARDS ... oopsie daisy, did I say that out loud over the comm system? Fredrick deSolvay III, -former ruler of this world, didnt take well to your one-sided announcement. A grainy imagine is projected on the gatehouse of an old man with mad bulging eyes, spittle in his grey beard and screaming that you are a traitor to the Empire!
The ornate palace guard raise their lasmuskets
Luckily for you more and more PDF trucks are arriving on the road; traffic jams already forming in the distance while sirens blare dimly from the surrounding city. Digusted by the out-of-touch ramblings of an old madman, you order attack, starting by the personal use of your Las-pistol. The nearby palaceguards are riddled with laser-blasts and reduced to smoldering gilded corpses.
Your mean automatically follow pre-trained movements and spread out, attacking the palatial compound from multiple angles.
Not a single shot rings out from the palace windows. Faced with a torrent of lasers and screaming PDFsmen, and learning that their ancient weapons are no longer working, the hundred or so palace guard wave the white flag and drag out a wildly screaming Fredrick deSolvay III and throw him before your feet.

(1)
>execute Fredrick deSolvay III
>put Fredrick deSolvay III in custody, you thought of a way he might become useful later

Not wasting further time you allow yourself to be led into the Grand throne-room by the disarmed palace guard, closely followed by a host of your own forces.

''ahh-h-h, the throne of Vexis II''
It is yours now. Lets see how long you can keep it.
Following your near instantanous victory, not only your soldiers, but also a host of nobles has found its way to the throne of Vexis II. They demand an immediate audience.

What do you guys expect we can find in the palace? artillery? vehicles? Should we search the PG incase he has any Digi-weapons? If we manage to kill any of the dark Eldar, should we use their weapons against them, or would that be too heretical? Fredrick deSolvay III is put into custody, left to ramble in a locked room filled with baroque paintings and priceless furniture. He might be useful as Drukhari bait, or has to be interrogated a bit about his palace secrets.

You tell the nobles to leave at gunpoint, and gather your officers around. Screens and wires are set up around the throne, and slowly data and reports start trickling in.
Preliminary reports state several divisions are stuck in traffic jams on the highways towards the capital.
Your numbers have swelled to 2000 PDF, many of them were pulled from bars and brothels and need some time to clear their heads. Soldiers mill around in parks, at squares, with more coming in by trucks; looking mean and awaiting orders. If anything; it gives the local populace of VEXIS PRIME the idea they have not been abandoned in the wake of imminent XENOS attack.

Order the local police forces, Arbites and PDF to start clearing the roads, pull out the occupants if they have to and push the vehicles to the side to clear a path, any roadblocks are to be forcefully cleared so that 2 lanes of traffic are possible in either direction.
Start reserving some roads for explicit military use only, guarded with lethal force. Put people on traffic control to make sure traffic flows and doesn't stop.

Enforce priority lanes, and tell the population to confine themselves in bunkers or defensible locations instead of clogging the roads since they will be easy bait and unsafe on the roads.

Reaching any solar systems would be very difficult, instead If it s able to send a signal or a message to the nearby solar systems it would be excellent already.

All the other spaceships are needed for now for transport troops, equipment, civilians and supplies around the world to the capital. When the xenos arrive they will be used for the defense.
If any noble here as an actual minimal experience in the military and can stand a fight, we would like him to join in the defense. Everyone else can go in secure places here in the palace, helping with the population and other matters.

>9/10.
Your men put their lasguns on ‘’stun’’ and fan out over the surrounding highways, driving the civilian vehicles into ditches at the threat of lasers – and indeed some of the more uppity ‘tourists’’ of Vexis required a good zap before complying. Fear and panic is great amongst the civilian masses, and the sight of your soldiers calms them into meek obedience.
Corridors are created, and military trucks roll through with breakneck space, ramming a few cars and motorcycles here and there out of the way.
>8000 troops expected to arrive by the end of the day, bringing total strenght to 10.000 soldiers and 1000 police auxiliaries.
A single grain of sand compared to the vast desert of Imperial might throughout the galaxy, but then again you don’t know how many Druhkari will show up with malicious intent.
>2000 more PDFsmen are further out, expected to arrive tomorrow, if they do. Traffic in the provincial roads is out of your control.

Civilians of Vexis Prime, now steadily growing to a over a million, are ordered to close the windows, lock the doors, and stay inside for their own safety. There is a distinct lack of emergency bunkers in the city; as it was mostly focused – for the last few centuries – on whoring, clubbing, dacning, dining and the like – and military matters were deemed far away from the troubles of this pleasure world. Spa’s, shopping malls and botanical gardens dot the city, and the buildings were designed for aesthetical appeal over the ability to withstand artillery shells.

With cocky inflated noblemen knocking on your door you think its best to at least see them – for a short moment.
Flamboyant fur-cloaked silken-booted feather-capped tobacco-chewin’ cigar-smokin’’ men kneel before your throne. It is noted that, though fat and aged, they have powerswords and bolt-pistols.
‘’To the grand gouverneur of Vexis II, my thanks for allowing us an adience with your grace. May your life be scented as roses and your every wish satisfied.’’
- You order the nobleman to cut it short. -
‘’My grace, we have several ...quick.. remarks to you. We .. well.. simply dé-mandér a stay in ‘’your’’ palace – with the addition of our staff of courtiers, womenfolk and entertainers ofcourse, as well as our riches and prized possesions. We wont have eldari pirates touch a single ruby in our coffers. Our Auxiliaries will thus be aiding you to the defence of the palace, an excellent deal is it not, sire?’’
‘’Furthermore, we demand the immediate release of the -temporarily- uncumbered Fredrick deSolvay the 3rd of his name. A men with such prized pedigree should not be thrown in a cell like some common ruffian! There are procedures and formalities – truly, without some sense of aristocratic tradition the entire galaxy would collapse into chaos!’’
‘’If you agree to these terms, our vessels are yours to command. Its best to stick together, and well.. forget about the commoners, they are already dead. Lets just ‘’bunker down’’ as the mud-soldiers say and see this storm through.’’

Pick one or more:
>Let the nobles and their entourages set up inside the Palace
>Fredrick deSolvay will not be released. He is under house-arrest, and will promptly be interrogated
>free Fredrick deSolvay III, keep him close – and ask him nicely where the good stuff is
>free Fredrick deSolvay III, you will set him up at the famous grand Noir Hotel on the other side of the city, the most luxurious and famed Lodging of Vexis Prime. You will be sure to blast through every radio and communication equipment that the planetary governor is at the Noir Hotel, with accurate coordinates attached so ‘’he can be safe’’
>set up Fredrick deSolvay III in the hotel as stated above, and load the structure up with promethean fuel barrels. – have a direct switch to blast set up at the throne room.

The nobles are allowed inside the Palace. They are a lot of 50 of the most premier guests on the planet, bringing with them 500 carapaced guards, armed with a myriad of weapons such as hot-shot lasguns, toxin-needlers and bolters. in their wake come chests upon chests of prized goods, and a thousand or so seemingly useless servants.
The nobles are quick to command the remaining palace-guard, as they arm and incorporate them into their personal guard.

>overlook the acquisition of the palace guard
>palace guard falls under PDF, this will not be tolerated

You decline to release the planetary governor, opting to drag him into the palace cellars and give him a few smacks - for theatrical purposes. He will tell you whatever you need to know, even if you have to ram a pistol into his mouth!

>10 airlift (near perfect operation)
>8 interrogate (frightened old man;pleasing attitude)

>Will the nobles at least keep their whoring to an absolute minimum?

Absolutely not. This is, and remains a pleasure world. High-end prostitutes now stalk the halls of the palace, coalescing with tired & nervous soldiery and sitting on ammunition crates doing cocaine, heroin and swallowing mentat pills with centuries-old Champagne.

The nobles smiled when you asked for their ships to transport the remaining bogged down PDF"s.
"More guns, ici? C"est magnifique. More soldiers is safer for us. We applaud your good initiative, mr. dictateur-gouverneur. We do are disapointed you have not let go good deSolvay III yet, but you will hear from us later about that issue. First wé will aide you with œur Transports. Dont scratch them ha-ha, very expensive."

The noblemen sent their best pilots to assist your men in finding the remaiining PDFs. A small group of Mercantile vessels were assigned for the job - their vast hulls empty (cargos now possibly stored behind the shielded palace walls).
Your men ascend and power through the skies towards PDF distress beacons. Groups of Imperial trucks are spotted amidst a sea of cars and luxury wagons.
The ships are landed in nearby fields and the soldiers abandon their vehicles and march straight into the great dark maws of the transport ships - singing songs and smoking self-rolled cigarettes.
Masses of desperate civilians storm and surround the transports, but a few warning shots are able to keep enough space for your loaded ships to ascend.
As your forces speed back to the capital they are greeted with miles and miles of roads clogged with stranded civilians that are helpless as they watch Dusk and shadowy gloom descend upon them.
The 2000 PDF"s are unloaded at the Starport south of the city and march to the Palace, cheered on from the windows by excatic civilians.
>>
>>4564134

Whilst operation "Mother-Eagle" was in full effect you stamped down the staircases to the imperial cellar - followed by a possé of semi-criminal PDF guards.
Tied-down in a mouldy dark chamber, the former governor of the planet had quickly lost his arrogant attitude, and after a few guiding smacks started saying whatever you want to hear.
Your officers want him to speak about his treasure chambers, but you order them to ask those questions later. Dead men have no use for riches. You goad the old man to speak about war matters. Security. Weapons. Eldari are coming, and you are already itching to strangle one with your bare hands.
The incoherent frightened babble came down to a few main points
>Palace is protected by void-shields and plas-steel walls. Built to withstand planetary bombardement
>There is a tunnel network running from the palace to other sites in the city, including hotel-noir, brothel moulin rouge in distrikt red, and the grand library in the east-side.
>There is weaponry housed in the winecellars. Big explosion guns is what the man says.

Killing a PG will get us on some inquisitors shit list down the line. Although, if majority votes to use him as bait with explosives....

Use him as bait. Put him on the fast ship with a bunch of annoying and useless nobles that are causing more harm than good and watch them chase it down.

Make sure t oput on a big show of it, you know APCs and most of the defence force going to the port and offloading them and some good treasure, mostly stuff that has no combat value or economical value for afterwards in helping the planet recover.

>>
>>4564162

>>
>>4564175
We could also use them. Perhaps we could do mock last stands in a couple of builds to lure the dark eldar in, retreat into the tunnel, blow up the builds, and repeat for only a couple of times before they grow wise to our antics.

Maybe we should also consider giving brave enough civilians some dead man trigger explosives, or tell some brave kamikaze asshate to carry a remote detonated explosive. Better to die in glory than to the Drukari.

The other option is if we can have some astropaths working to get some FTL comms. Guard and Navy reinforcements might be a long way away but the nobles here ought to have enough pull and favours to get a couple of Rogue Traders to pull a mercenary reinforcement intervention.

But it would need to be a mid to high level Rogue Trader house to get involved in such a thing, as they would need at least a couple of cruisers and an escort squadron at a minimum to be able to reinforce us, and without us having laser batteries or missile silos to support an inferior orbital presence, i dont know how much help they will be depending on the dark eldars fleet. speaking of the dark eldar fleet presence, if our current space assets are mostly merchant ships, they are going to get blasted or boarded. if they have not fucked off by now.

Proper void ships that can do interstellar flight do not enter atmosphere, at least not if they ever want to leave it under their own power.

>10, 10, 8

Fredrick deSolvay III slimes and bowes and smiles. He leads you down crumbling cramped stairs down into the depths of his House. Plassteel and cemex make way for ancient stone and mossy mortar, and finally hard rock itself. You wonder if the endless slippery staircase will ever end when you reach a great, rusted iron bars. The governor raises a key with a snicker and opens the door for you. Inside your flashlights have to reveal the contents of the chamber.
It smells of mould and old damp air. The walls are lined with faded, tatterered banners. Rusted armours and swords are lined up in racks. You wonder if this was once a feudal world; before the pleasure business...
Swords, primitive half-wooden gunpowder weaponry, flags, iron helmets. Horse-saddles, axes, clubs, mixed in with the occasional lasmusket and boltgun.
The remains of an old techno-barbarian force?
Tapestries depicting an ancient battle between steel human knights and some acrid looking bug xenos horde cover several large objects.

>One (10) reveals a large cannon, with the internal mechanism encased into a holding of primitive steel, timber and rusted bolts, with the other part revealing what seems like extremely advanced plasma-cooling coils. You have seen plasma weaponry before, but this unit is massive. Brass decorations cover the outside, and the muzzle is formed into a roaring wolf's head. MORGAN"S BANE is inscribed onto the outer steel fitting. MIf you would be able to get this thing working it might be enough to pulverise entire city-blocks.

The second tarp is pulled and it shows a great rusted metal knight machine, with a corroded gunmuzzle for one arm and a large swordarm for another. Ornate shields and decaying banners hang from its body, and a thick layer of dust covers its dead empty eyes. It is thrice as tall as a human being, and you wonder what it could do if it were to stir to life.
The letters AZAZEL are read on its helmet.

The third tarp gives way for a rack of particularly well-conditioned armours, which seem a curious mix between knightly chainmail and forgeworld-grade carapace armour. There are twenty complete suits; enough to be worn by you and your closest officers and bodyguards.

christ lads i wanted to throw you some heavy bolters or something. Keep your rolls under control

you decide to "free" the Planetary Governor for his good behavior. Your orders to house the esteemed and highly important deSolvay III at the famous Hotel Noir are broadcasted planetside- you made sure of it.
Just in case you have a good amount of promethean barrels brought into the rooms below the governors private wing. For his own safety and well-being ofcourse.
The nobles, for what its worth, seem content with your decision, and the occasional distrustful glare is reduced to an irritated glance.

Night is falling over Vexis Prime. You have ordered the lights to dim, but all around the city you see the red lights of still arriving traffick. You have activated the distress signal, as did several prominent bureaucrats on their own accord, but only the Emperor knows when Imperial fleets come to our aid.
The night is tense, and... Surprisingly warm and humid for this time of the year.
Sudden lightning ripples through the dark sky.
Your vox channels then fall silent, and strange heavy breathing is emitted through the speaker systems. Finally a voice starts:
"My gratitude sir Rick Princecock, Commander of the human warriors of this hopeless world. - for gathering the cattle so well. Youve saved us the trouble of collecting your pig-people subjects ourselves. And how you things squeal when we come to get them. Perhaps I will even reward you with long, long "life" for your good work.-"

I don't think we should put all of our eggs in one basket by stacking the plasma on the GK. Again I think it's best we wait to spot some important asset of their and then just fucking obliterate it. Considering they are a small kabal high enough losses may make them back off? Or at the very least hurt them a lot. If they know where the plasma cannon is they can easily out maneuver it and wreck our shit. Glad we gave our guys those combat drills, should make the knight more effective if we can get it to work.

I'd prefer we pilot the knight.

Yes i know the Throne Mechanicum has a nonzero chance of killing the one who attempts The Becoming and bond with a knight a thing reduced by knightly upbringing of knight world nobles somewhat, but having us in a knight frame will ensure that assassination is pretty much a no go. Ion Shields, more armoured than a tank, better guns than a tank and a fuck of chainsword fit to duel carnifexes, demons and other monstrous creatures ensures that we are going to at the very least survive shit, and if they do bring our massive robot down we can overload the reactors and atomize ourselves before getting captured.

Then there is also the fact that if we win we can become a freeblade knight should there be political blowback of how we defended the world, and not get fucking reked by political machinations.

Remeber, Knights are in the same league as Astartes and Assassinorum operatives when it comes to politics. They are defacto semi-independent. by sheer dint of how much personal power they have and in the case of knights it is even de jure recognized unlike with the Assassins, for whom the Inquisitions has been granted the fiction of 'supervising'.
>>
>>4564533
Knights have Ion Shields,. Those are more like a 2d shield than a bubble so the facing of the shield and formations are important for knight warfare. We only have one and the ion shield should pretty much shield us from any one direction we want, or can direct it.
>>
>>4564535
>>4564512

brinking up the Knight to working order o someone can attempt the Becoming is inded paramount. fucking around ith weapons and other such things beyond just ensuring everything that is in working order or can be brought to working order is working and what is not is marked as such and in the do not/can not be used is imho the best we can hope for.

Putting it in a machine shop to upgrade it or go through the proper maintenance cycle is not something our timetable affords. That is the work of months or years.

Its like saying oh, we have found a T55 variant that we are uncertain what specifically, lets put on it the Pantsir twin chaingun and missile array on it. The civilian mechanics around will be put to work to figure something out, and expect it wont be fouled up beyond working order after the first engagement if we are lucky.

Knights after all have their special Sacristians for techstuff, not the regular Enginseers.

The sky is pitch black, and even the stars have gone missing. It almost seems as if the darkness even affects the lights of your imperial lamps, and you order candles to be lit to avert the shadows.
Thunder rumbles incessantly in its confines of the storm above you, and the occasional lighting flash shows a silhouette of long sleek black vessel making its way over the city. It emits swarms of black things that go so fast your augurs can barely pick them up; mere blurs that are not able to be counted.
Though they go faster than your eyes, their noise is everywhere. The sound of high-pitched agonizing screams blares from their engines.
Blue-purplish blasts are emitted from the dark skies, striking the city everywhere. But what seems like a storm of blind chaos actually is methodically executed.
Your depots go up in flames in the first few minutes, followed by large barracks, bridges, communication towers, vehicle parks.
A few projectiles are even shot at your direction, but the simmering flash of the Palace void shield stops them in their path. Nevertheless you can hear the screaming engines of their craft gliding over your head.
Contact with PDF at other planetary sites ceases, but a few desperate reports come in that the Eldar pirates are focusing their attention at the highways - still clogged with civilians. Eldar speeders strafe the roads to quench their appetite of death, and black-armoured warriors are spotted driving your defenceless subjects together in fields like cattle.

Dark eldar forces are spotted at every entrance of the city, and are pumping their ammunitions into the surge of people fleeing into the city.

Dark eldar forces have landed small units at the star-port, but the local PDF units are still resisting.

>Send our strongest PDF squads to the Star-port. We need to bring in the mechanics and technicians of the noble ships to take a look at our findings, notably MORGAN's bane, the plasma bombard, and AZAZEL, the powered-down ancient Knightmachine.

Read above, we are PDF, AKA the human soldiers that are worse than the guard in every way and can only make up for it all in numbers, numbers we very much lack.
>>
>>4565072
>>4565070
PDFs routinely lack the numbers compared to populations they are supposedly guarding.

Lets take our own case, 20k total, that we mobilized 12k i think that is for one million people around 2 respectively 1.2%, and that is a respectable number for pdf in general, but that holds true only if the population is at about 1 milion.

Remember that some hive worlds with tens or hundreds of billions of souls barely have one or two million sized PDF.

>>Send our strongest PDF squads to the Star-port. We need to bring in the mechanics and technicians of the noble ships to take a look at our findings, notably MORGAN's bane, the plasma bombard, and AZAZEL, the powered-down ancient Knightmachine.
That being said, we need the firepower to fight the fuckers and while our dudes are trained and have lasguns, lasguns wont scratch anything beyond infantry even if dark eldar vehicles are made out of cardboard, it is some thick cardboard that we need some bigger guns for.

I mean, what we would want is as many autocannons as we can get, since those are what you want to deal with flyers, skimmers and transports, especially if they are all three of the above. Hydra flak tanks would be awesome, but just autocannon support would be very usefull,

On the other hand, the fuckoff huge plasmacannon could be rigged to serve as a ghetto lasercannon battery and provide short range interdiction around the palace.
>>
>>4565083
scratch that , if our guns are Triplex Lasguns or something similar to that, then we might be able to bring down dark eldar vehichles with squad lasgun volleys.

and from the descriptions we go they ought to be something of the sort, so things are not that bad. we can focus fire transports before they unload the wych rape squad into our gunline.

You sent 2000 soldiers to retrieve the mechanics from the Star-Port.
Their vehicles were immediately fired upon, so the men had to split up and go on foot, scattering through the dark neighbourhoods - sweaty, nervous, and trying to ingnore the sounds of torture and inhuman laughter coming from nearby blocks. This night is dark, damned dark, darker than any one of us has ever experienced. Its hard to see, and some men are compaining of "dizziness"
When the PDF relief force reached the star-port, some squads did not make it, and the final count showed 300 men "missing". Hopefully they are just lost.

>Qmroll 10+2

The hundred or so PDF soldiers stationed at the Star-Port are remarkably unscathed. They greet you with cheers behind their sandbags, and carry an Drukhari head on their bayonets. The headless, black carapaced slimy elven corpse is displayed nearby. They say they simply "shot the bassstid down" with their guns.
An overconfident Drukhari, or divine intervention by the God-Emperor? No-one can tell, but the Drukhari raider is definately dead.
The actions of the PDF garrison have temporarily kept other Drukhari incursions at bay; who seem to prefer to raid where no guns are firing at them.
The technicians are fine, and meekly agree to be escorted to the palace.

what to make of this mess?
Upon extracting the technicians, the starport comes under intense shuriken fire that rips apart the very pavement of the landing strips. The abandoned starships are reduced to belching smoke and warped metal. Drukhari speedsters race around like screeching witches. The comms tower explodes after a direct hit - But by the grace of only the Emperor himself not a single casualty is taken. The men are starting to believe in /his/ presence, especially after extraction completes without further harassement and the Planetary palace is reached.
The technicians are now able to work on the ancient machinery

>soft rumors of Divine Emperor's intervention. (+1 morale for all troops)

Comms chatter is momentarily filled with praise to the Emperor and a flood of prayers, but alarming reports from the southern slums quickly take priority.

But since a lot of PGs think they can get away with tribal warriors and gangs instead of proper troops and since a lot of PDFs do not get injected with returning veterans from the IG things make it hard to have a defend PDF by default and this is not getting into misappropriation or straight up slashing funds or spending them on dumb shit.

Basically consider the standard PDF of a civilized world to be equipped and led in a fashion similar to that of a minor power pre WW2.

Autoguns (WW1 vintage), mostly infantry, an officer corps that tend to be inexperienced at best, and having long periods of peace in between planetary invasions (if any ever happened before at all).

Going back to the WW2 analogy, most nations were totally unprepared for breakout of hostilities. Even nations such as America and Russia took years to slowly amass, train, and equip their armies and some, like America, really benefitted from Allies like the UK showing them the ropes as well as having entire swaths of area being out of reach from even enemy bombing.

In 40K planetary invasions, the enemy will control the orbit, meaning that even if they don't orbitally bombard you, nowhere is safe from attack or harassment. The nature of the enemies themselves leave little chance for most PDF to slowly learn from mistakes and improve their equipment. The 'capabilities' gap between the PDF and the invaders also tend to be much wider than even what Russia faced against the Germans.

So even PDF that is simply 'mediocre' and not being actively screwed over by incompetence and malice tend to be screwed.

morale 3 (insufficient)
fighting 20 (max)

Your men are ordered to stand and fight, and keep the drukhari at bay until the civilians can be evacuated deeper into the city.
The slums are a cramped area of sprawling cinder-blocks and corrugated space-metal, and was until today inhabited by the lowest house-servants, slaves, bastard-whore children and absolute seediest, greasiest of brothels. A single imperial church stands in its midst in a half-hearted attempt to ward of the degeneracy and keep any corruption at bay. Trash and sewers mix with neon-signs and narrow alleys. The PDF’s men take their positions, hunker down behind windows and doors with their lasguns aimed at the empty streets. Occasional shuriken fire is exchanged with las-volleys.
The Drukhari seem to be probing. From the night-sky agonizing engine-screams are heard and under massed fire some black vessels are able to deposit bladed units at the rooftops – who quickly disappear in the sprawl of the slums. Mocking laughter is heard through the streets, and the local PDF officers nerve simply breaks – and orders a fighting retreat. Blasting wildly with their guns the abandon their positions and safely reach PDF lines deeper into the city.
Casualties are minor, but the thousands of civilians were left to fend for themselves, and from the darkening streets no refugee comes in the wake of the retreating PDF…
At other sites in the city, fighting continues as well, though the dark Eldari seem to be merely probing for weak spots.

They cling onto their positions, and when drukhari fire comes their way they dig in deeper. With a stern grimace they shoot, stab and kill anything that moves their way. This is their damned turf, and they aint going nowhere. Men die, sure, but the others fight on tenaciously. They are like lions, and the Drukhari pull back with some of their own "dead" dragged along, somewhat surprised by the sheer ferocity of the small PDF force of this backwater isolated pleasure planet.

You put the Drukhari corpse on video, with minute details explaining where their organs are, where their armour are thinnest, and underlining the might of the Emperor himself. As you broadcast, your systems are immediately beset by interference. It seems to have enraged the Drukhari, and they are trying to broadcast their own freshly made torture footage instead. But the systems of this world are advanced, up to date, and you are able to shut down the broadcast systems before any Drukhari directors cut comes through. The thousands of PDF fighting on Vexis Prime have seen however, the disgusting repulsive face of the dead enemy.

The luckiest PDF in the entire subsector.
At least untill the deldar stop probing, and start going for the throat
>>
>>4566019

If we hold up well enough to the probes they might just totally avoid going for the throat, if we get the big guns out by then even more so. These guys go straight to Slaneeshs fuck pit when they die and are kinda cowardly. Their depression tactics aren't going THAT well, depending on how fast the cogboys work we might actually have a chance.
>>

>>
>>4566021
Honestly if we can be a tough enough nut to crack there's a decent chance they'll just round up all the refugees they've already captured and fly off with that.
>>
>>4566033

That's a win in my book. Beggars can't be choosers. Maybe if we can fake some ardent faith in big E that will deter them even more, as we aren't stewing in our own terror.
>>
Following their failed broadcast attempt, Eldari attacks intensify.
Two sectors report an immediate need for reinforcements

Rouge district is under swift and massive aerial assault. Drukhari vessels are dropping of multiple squads in the midst of your forces. Its a district of wide open lanes and baroque palaces used for partying and prostitution. Your men liked being deployed there, but some "houses" have become bloodbaths in the blink of an eye. If rouge district falls, Drukhari have a direct path to the planetary Palace itself, and your HQ may come under direct assault

The massive East-Quarter is the newest part of the city, yet is built to mimic an ancient classical city, with grand collumns and imperial temples alternating with comfortable winevine overgrown courtyards and squares. It is absolutely filled with civilians, and PDF was busy with conscription efforts when roaring speeders and heavy aerial barrages announced a savage new assault.
The firepower displayed will soon overwhelm the PDF, and the masses of civilians with it, ir nothing is done.

Now if we could save those refugees outside, it would be far better for morale. There is a great chance the dark eldars have left them in the nearby fields to the city in pens, where they will wait until the dark eldars are done. The raiders wouldn t expect a counterattack from a PDF and not one with a knight too. This could give us time to even send scavenge teams arounds the parts of the city we have left (for take anything left by civilians in their escape) and it s a good occasion for kill many dark eldars. It s very ambitious, but maybe is enough to break them too.

If things go to shit really bad it might become time to go grimdark.
The Eldar are looking to take slaves, since that is their currency, thus we should look into denying them their aim.
Either rig Civilian evacuation centers with Promethium Barrels or some other explosives we have or supply makeshift explosives to the population so they can at least blow themselves up instead of getting captured by the Hellraiser cosplayers.
>>
>>4566124

I wouldn't mind massacring innocents if it gets the rape brigade off our planet, the consequences if we do survive might be severe though.
>>
>>4566124
>so they can at least blow themselves up
lol, the local civies? pimps, slaves and whores? sure, bet they are all stalwart AF
We know deldars are bad, we read the lore, but to convince civilian populace to fucking blow themselves up? wouldn't bet on it
>>
>>4566129
I think I messed up the wording somewhat.
I'm not proposing a massacre here, rather concentrate those juicy civilians we can't protect anyway, wait for the rape elves to show up to take their prize, and then blow them to shit.

Imperial command is authorized to blow up its subjects if it is deemed necessary.
>16 (machinery operationalized)
>4 (G-Knight slumbers)

Dim sounds of explosions and gun-fire reach the deep palace cellars, but the technicians calmly, cautiously - ply their tools on the machinery. These are not warp drives or rocket-engines. This is old, arhaic, and surprisingly advanced stuff.
The Knight wont be stirred to waking, at least not yet. There seems to be a pilot's compartment but there seems to be no latch or hatch for entry. The outer shell is scarred, but not penetrated. It remains an rusted, if curious heirloom of an older age.

The plasma bombard is activated. The coils glow up in the shadowy cellar, and it almost ignites and blows up the entire room. Luckily the cooling mechanism also still works, but the machine seems slightly... Unstable, though it promises certain destruction; either the target or the wielder.

Reinforcements were rushed to the Rouge districts. The ancient esteemed pleasure houses are now half collapsed ruins, with flames licking at the expensive imported timber structures - but your men were able to hold the Drukhari at bay thanks to timely reinforcements.
PDF bodies are piled high, losses of a single hour of combat are in the hundreds, but your men swear a few "pointy-ear bassids" were blasted into bits, though theres no sign of them on the battlefield.
In the Eastern-Quarter the situation is more dire. Though entrenched; the PDF were pushed back or killed, and are holding on to the edge of the district by a thread. Drukhari prowlers stalk the roofs, and they are extremely fast, dodging single las-shots with mocking ease and prefering to gut their opponents up close with blades. Surrounded PDF units are taunted, and slowly whitled down with weaponry that inflicts maximum pain and awards death to bloodied, torn soldiers only when the Drukhari decide. Only heavy supressing fire is able to keep the Xenos incursions at bay, but without the requested reinforcements, it turned into a one-sided massacre.

>1d10-1 (average of 3) to hold onto the Eastern Quarter

The plasma bombard is awakened. Morgans Bane be deployed?
>Palace roof. Our strongest weaponry to deter foolhardy attempts at our HQ
>Rouge district. Still close to the palace, but able to aid our comerades on the frontlines.

Sending it to the eastern quarter might risk losing it, don't want that. If we put it close to the palace it will make it seem even harder to breach. I say it's time to cut our losses and abandon the Eastern quarter and pull back to the palace.

Eastern Quarter has fallen. The slaughter on the civilians is immense, and captives are lead away into the darkness with the whip and the threat of death. Some hundred thousand civilians are now "status missing". The PDF were deployed to protect them; and they failed. Some of the men are wondering what they are doing here...

If we can do that we are guaranteed another propaganda victory.

rogue district was a red herring boys. we are not going to hold anything not under the void shield, so them having a route to the palace is irrelevant, as once the situation is stabilized that is the only place we will be operating in, under the bloody void shield to prevent getting bombed into oblivion by orbital fire.

Denying the dark eldar is paramount

Guys, we're a PDF force, not Astartes.
The only thing our men can really do is bunker down, hold the line, die.
Trying to engage the masters of mobile warfare with a bunch of conscripts who are already low on morale and one single big cannon is suicide.
>>
>>4566225
But if it nets us a few kills it'll be worth it.
>>
>>4566227
Bruh we need the cannon, it is our ace in the hole.
>>
>>4566227

It will absolutely not be worth it, losing such an important weapon for what? A couple of dead eldar?
>>
>>4566227
The dark eldar are ambush predators, they strike where we're the weakest, so the only way that I can see us diminishing their forces is by forcing them to attack our strong points.
This means:
Concentrated, well fortified forces.
Remember that our men are lacking in communications equipment, the Eldar will hunt them down, demoralize them and destroy our forces, coordination will break down.
Only way we can mitigate that is by once again, concentrating our forces, holding ground, and once the ground is lost, blow it up, hopefully with the eldar with it.
They don't hold ground, all they need to do is destroy any force that can oppose them and then they'll have a field day hunting down defenseless civilians.
>>
>>4566229
No, that would be the knight.
>>
>>4566229
Use the cannon of their ships with slaves, blow em all up.

>>4566232
>>4566236
Then why are we so spread out? Also Being all in one spot probably isn't that great of an idea.....

I was talking about throwing a few hundred pdf at the eldar to get a few kills. Not toss our weapon at them. Maybe it can fire as support from a distance.
>>
>>4566239
I'm not saying put everyone in one bunker and wait for them to bomb it.
More like, present something that looks like an easy target, wait for them to attack it, obliterate with the cannon.
>>
>>4566239
>>4566245

>>4566239

The palace has void shields so they can't bomb it, just defend that. We can't hold ground against them

>>4566245
I guess this could work
>>
The problem with attacking the deldar is that they have complete aerial superiority- once the cannon is shot, they'll swarm it and that's that, but if we have a fortified position, it can get off multiple strikes
>>
>>4566245
changing vote to this
Let's obliterate some fucking Eldar
>>
Like somebody said try to put plasma cannon on palace , try to snipe lots of ships that get close , boost soldiers with holy scriptures and if we survive salvage the tech !
>>
>>4566245
Didn't I suggest that already?

>>4566251
>Defend
>can't hold ground
wat?

Anyways we just need some space and ground we can fall back to and retake. Like a breathing living defensive line of sorts.
>>
>>4566266
We can't hold ground because they have aerial superiority but that's not a problem at the palace or the Rogue District, which has a direct route back to the palace
>>
The void shields, how much do they cover, that is the most important question. Only the palace or the entire city?
>>
>>4566303
I'd say the palace and a few blocks past it, like a section of the city by the sounds of things. Or the palace is fucking huge.
>>
>>4566314
Knowing 40k the palace is probably its own district. While we can probably hold it, as pointed out by other anon’s, dark eldar are ambush predators, they wont waste time on such a hard target unless a flaw can be exploited.

IMO the only way we can win is take advantage of their “better then you” mindset, however whatever we do is only going to work once cause they wont fall for it a second time. We need to make our own advantage and exploit it so that the dark eldar fuck off once the raid is no longer profitable. If we can blow up their slave ships, that could do the trick. It will also mercy kill the poor fucks captured from a fate worse then death.
>>
>>4566318
>>4566314
I mean I don't want to get the massive cannon out from under the void shield at all. A bit salty I missed the previous vote to conserve our total manpower pool, but if the shields only cover the palace then we ought to mount it on the palace and not get it outside.
>>
>>4567027
What if we just point the tip of the barrel out to fire then pull it back, or make a opening in the shield large enough for a projectile?

I thought the two districts where more or less at least partially in the shield zone but idk.
>>
>>4566169
>eastern quaeter counterattack
fuck it, being retarded is in-character
although if we level the entire district, saving the civies will not be really possible(but it will deny slaves for drukari). Also there is a possibility deldar already took everyone away. They are fast bastards, if anything.

Guess were taking Morgan"s bane into the eastern quarter!

>Roll me 1d10+2 (first) to see how the plasma bombard performs.

Were the damned PDF, and were here to protect this world and its citizens. Women and children depend on us. We will not let Imperial subjects fall into the slimy claws of these vilest of xenos. This gutter-scum of the galaxy will be smashed away from our families. We are the sledge-hammer the Emperor wields to protect humankind.
Thousands of PDF load their lasrifles and strap improvised prometheum molotovs to their belts. They are standing before death, staring it in its black malicous eyes, and spit right into its face. With fire and blade these unwanted parasites will be cleansed from our world; starting with the Eastern Quarter!
The ancient Plasma bombard is rolled forward, and the men whisper a final prayer the the Emperor, before climbing over their barricades and charging forward.
