Open your bible anon because this Christmas we're doing Jesus Quest.

[ blue ]Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”[ /blue ]
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. (Matthew 4:8-11)

Jesus returns from his trials in the desert only to find himself lost in the strange new world of the 21st century in the year 2000.

Ground Rules:
Jesus does not kill.
Jesus does not commit physical violence toward humans.
(Jesus did curse a fig tree and eat animals and nobody considers that to be violence except breatharians.)
Jesus does not command armies nor does he command others to kill or hurt for him. (Except in Revelations but that's inappropriate for a Jesus Christ Chrismas-themed Quest).
Jesus does insult his enemies the Pharisees by comparing them to snakes and dogs. Swearing at people is non-violent.

Miracles:
Jesus uses miracles to teach lessons and parables.
Jesus uses miracles to feed the hungry, cure the sick, and raise the dead.
Jesus sometimes uses miracles for fun like turning water into wine.

Jesus does not use miracles to prove his divinity as the Son of God.
Jesus does not use miracles to perform shows on stage.
Jesus does not use miracles to get rich or make money.

Jesus might have used miracles to pull pranks as a child.

Now Jesus Christ Quest begins.

Unable to speak any modern languages, Jesus is thrown in the asylum. There, he befriends several doctors and patients. Over the course of one year, the doctors teach Jesus how to use modern technology from the year 2000 and how to read and speak some of the most common modern languages.

Jesus preaches in the streets of Israel several times but he is always thrown back into the asylum.

[ blue ]So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”[ /blue ] (Matthew 13:57)

A year has passed. It is now January 1, 2001. One of the doctors forges Jesus a passport and drives him to the airport. Jesus buys a one-way ticket.
>What country does he go to?

Voting closes tomorrow Dec 15, at 6 pm EST. Then, I will write the next part of Jesus Quest and post it on Wednesday, Dec 16, at 6 pm EST.

The Vatican City State. John Paul II, the 264th man to serve as his vicar on Earth, is widely regarded as a good and pious man, and will surely rejoice at the news of His return.

No because we are invoking the Dante's Commedia clause where a fictional work takes inspiration from Biblical doctrine for the purpose of art and fun. Dante added Pagan Greek and even a few Muslim historical figures to his Commedia, just like we are adding the modern world of 2001 to Jesus. I also hope to keep the principles of Jesus consistent with being non-violent and peaceful - but there will be obstacles to overcome.

The faithful come from far and wide and walk their pilgrimage through Saint Peter's Square and Jesus Christ walks among them. They look at the evening sky in prayer, they look at the ground in worry, they admire the architecture, but they do not notice the Son of God walking right in front of them.
Only a few children in the crowd notice Jesus and gaze at him in awe.
A man bumps into Jesus and apologizes and runs away. Jesus checks his pockets and notices his wallet and passport are gone.

Silvio Matthewson scampers through the streets. A pickpocket in Saint Peter's Square. Silvio reaches a back alley across the street from a church and opens the passport. The picture of the man's face seems somehow familiar. He reads the name: Yeshua B. Yosef. He looks at the church across from the alley and its massive cross and statue of Jesus and he looks at the man who followed him into the alley and divine realization strikes him and he knows that the man who stands before him is Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Silvio prostrates himself on both knees and raises both hands clasped above his head and he confesses all of his sins and begs to be forgiven.
"I give you a new name: Mahill, which in modern Hebrew means fast, for you are fast on your feet but also fast to recognize me, and even faster to confess and ask for forgiveness. Rise Mahill, and be forgiven and follow me."
Mahill rose from his knees with tears in his eyes and gave back Jesus's wallet and passport and they hugged like brothers and Jesus walked and Mahill followed and they made their way back to the crowd in Saint Peter's Square as the sun sets and Pope John Paul the Second begins New Year's Angelus and Blessing.
>>
>>4573692
Pope John Paul the Second had a fantastic dream last night and wondering whether to interpret it literally when he spotted Jesus walking through the crowd. A voice in his head whispered that this was impossible but his heart told him that it was real - that the Son of God walks the earth. Pope John Paul weighed the pros and cons of pointing out Jesus to the crowd and possibly have him be mobbed by the faithful and decided instead to continue the Angelus and Blessing as normal and to let Jesus have his peace within the crowd. Besides, if Jesus wanted to reveal himself he could do so at any time.

The Angelus and Blessing concluded and Mahill noted that it had ended faster than usual. The tourists with cameras and pilgrims with bibles dispersed in various directions. Was this a dream? Was the man beside him really Jesus Christ on earth? Mahill cursed himself for doubting and was about to confess again when a Bishop in black robes stood in front of him and bowed his head before Jesus.
"His Holiness Pope John Paul the Second has requested your audience for tonight's dinner."
"Oi don't you know who you're talking to?"
"Get your hands off me, you dirty thief."
"While many may claim to be the faithful, Mahill over here, who was unfaithful, was first in this holy city to recognize me and confess his sins and ask for forgiveness and to be converted. I insist that my good friend Mahill joins us at the Papal table."
"Who are you to be chosen out of a crowd by his Holiness Pope John Paul the Second to eat at his table and who are you still to demand conditions."
"Is the Bishop blind? You stand before the inspiration of your religion for you speak with such curtness to Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God." At Mahill's words the Bishop Ritzy did realize that he stood before Jesus and his cheeks became Crimson Red and he looked around but no one had noticed their conversation and no one was paying attention to them and he stuttered and asked both Jesus and Mahill to follow him and he led them into the house of God.
>>
>>4573694

"This is a momentous occasion. We must break out the good wine."
Bishop Ritzy pours Jesus a glass of something Italian and unpronounceable. He then pours a glass for the pope and a glass for Mahill who fidgets uncomfortably at the papal dining table and its rich paintings and statues and entire room overflowing with wealth.
Jesus downs the glass in one gulp. "This is good stuff but I know something better."
Jesus takes the pitcher on the table and pours himself a glass of water. The water trembles and gets redder and redder until it becomes almost black. "Authentic Bethlehem Cask." He hands his glass to the Pope who holds the cup and takes a sip. "Oh my! What is this?"
"It is made from the juices of a strand of fruit that has long gone extinct in your time."
"It will take me a while to get used to this. What a taste."
"Here, one for you too Mahill," says Jesus as he brews another cup of Bethlehem Cask and hands the cup to Mahill.
Mahill stares at the wine, closes his eyes, and takes a swig. "Argh, it burns. Too strong."
"Now my Lord, there is something I must ask you while your wine still gives me courage. Have you come here to destroy the world?"
Mahill falls out of his chair in shock.
Bishop Ritzy looks at the pope with clenched teeth and then at Jesus with fear. ("How can you ask him that") shouts Bishop Ritzy in his head.
"Fear not for the end of days have not yet come to pass. I have to the year 2001 for a different reason."
Mahill and Bishop Ritsy cling to each other in fear.
"A reason I will reveal when the time is right."
"I am relieved that our Father in Heaven has judged humankind worthy to continue living despite all of our sins. Yet at the same time, I cannot help but feel a little dissapointed."
"Please No!" shout Mahill and Bishop Ritzy in unison.
Jesus laughs. Mahill and Bishop Ritzy both calm down and unclench themselves from each other, somewhat embarrassed.

"Well, Lord, would you like me to announce you?"

>Announce Jesus Christ's existence to the world in a papal proclamation and ceremony. This will save many lives of persecuted Christians in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia because persecutors will be unlikely to attack out of fear that Jesus is here. This option will also kill many believers and non-believers who will become the target of doomsday cults and panic riots. The Protestants and other anti-Catholic sects will denounce Jesus as the Anti-Christ. You will spend more time with world leaders than the common people.
>Keep Jesus's existence a secret. Absolute secrecy is impossible but preventing anyone from talking about it will avoid many deaths that would be caused by doomsday cults and riots. It will, however, cause many believers who could have been saved, to die and many more will lose faith who could have retained it. You will spend more time with the common people than with world leaders. Your enemies will be slower to catch on to what you are doing.

Surely The Light of the World should not be covered up and hidden from the masses. As for the other Christian denominations, they shall see that the Lord loves them all, and merely saw to seek out the largest and most cohesive congregation first. None of them have been without sin in their organizations for the past 2000 years, least of all the Catholic church, but all of their differences are now of little concern, for He has returned the lead them in unified worship of His Father.

Actually, I have another idea
>Jesus will travel from nation to nation, gathering faithfully from each of the lands, testing the churches that have sprung up in his name, those with the eyes to see and the ears to hear will know the truth and will follow. Once the Christain churches and nations have been tested will he reveal himself to the greater world. For he is a shepherd and his flock needs tending

[travel the first world nations, testing an meeting with the major Christian leaders in the lands, to sort out the weat from the chaff]

The world stood still on the morning of January 2, 2001, as his Holiness Pope John Paul II announced from his balcony that the savior, Jesus Christ, Lord of Lords and King of Kings has returned and again walks the earth.

People abandoned their jobs on the spot and rushed to the Holy See. Airports to Italy were booked for the next six months. Cruise Ship companies changed their travel schedules to accommodate the masses who desired to set sail for Italy. Various presidents, prime-ministers, kings, and dictators flew to Italy on private jets and demanded to be granted an audience. Bishops and Cardinals too were eager to leave their posts and see Jesus and the ones closest to Rome were lucky to reach the Vatican first.

The Protestants, Eastern-Orthodox, and other factions were split. Many considered making peace with the Catholics to unite under a single church of God. Others sought the opportunity to point out the various abuses of power, both historical and current, that were perpetrated by the Catholic Church. Still, others thought that the Pope was tricked by the Anti-Christ and that they would do well to stay away and prepare for the end, most noticeable of those voices was the Anglican Communion.

Doomsday cults and false prophets reworked their previous prophecies to fit Jesus's return.

The midday ceremony begins:
Cardinals bowed on either side on the isle as his Holiness Pope John Paul II led the Lord Jesus Christ towards his papal throne.
Jesus sat on the throne and the Pope sat on a smaller chair beside him. Tables were brought out with food and wine and a feast began.
Jesus desired to be with the masses and ordered the Cardinals to follow him carrying baskets of food and they entered the thronging masses and fed them and they walked through the streets of the Vatican in song and dance and the food in the baskets never ran out and everyone was fed. All over the globe people watched the feast in the streets and celebrated the return of Christ.

Night came and Jesus desired to be alone and he prayed. And after his private prayer, Jesus called for the Pope and the Bishop Ritzy and the newly named Mahill and the four of them met again in the garden.

"The people are eager to see me but the Holy See cannot accommodate this overwhelming mass of visitors. I will go to the people and the three of you will come with me."
You three are more experienced with the modern world than I. Tell me what country should I visit next? After Mahill and Bishop Ritzy, both insist on being unworthy and Jesus telling them that they all met for a reason and will follow him - they speak their minds:

Mahill suggests visiting Istanbul, Turkey because his mother lives there. Bishop Ritzy calls him an idiot but Pope John Paul interrupts and says that the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople of the Eastern-Orthodox Church is headquartered there. This will be a good opportunity to heal the divisions between Catholic and Eastern-Orthodox. Jesus will also engage in conversations and debates with Muslim leaders.

Bishop Ritzy implores Jesus to stay at the Vatican. Just for a bit longer. There is still much to do. Mahill calls Bishop Ritzy and idiot because Jesus specifically asked for a place to go next. Pope John Paul admits that there are warring factions within the Vatican's internal politics and several scandals that he could use Jesus's help with. Staying too long at the Vatican will be considered 'playing defense' and enemies who seek to blaspheme against Jesus will have more freedom to make movements against him while he is stuck in the Vatican. There is also the danger of being caught up in the nitty-gritty of Catholic Church politics. The upside is that any scandals that could be used against Jesus for associating with the Vatican would be exposed and healed before it is used against him.

His Holiness Pope John Paul II suggests going to London, England, and confronting the Anglican Church who believes that Jesus is a Catholic trick or resent that Jesus went to the Vatican before he went to them. "On the way, we can stop in France for the best wine in the entire world."

>Will Jesus go to Constantinople by ship (passing Greece on the way), meet the Eastern-Orthodox, and debate Muslims?

Untill eighty years ago this was the seat of power of the last state calling itself the Roman Empire, an entity Jesus is all to familiar with. At this time it is a fairly secular democracy (for now). The Muslims also worship His Father, all be it with some additions, and they make up over a billion faithful souls. As for the Great Schism , it is wholly the result of profane power struggles a thousand years ago, and it shall be mended

January 3, 2001
The ship departs the port of Fiumicino with many smaller boats flowing in its wake and a massive crowd of the faithful waving tissues and flags at the start of Jesus's journey.
The ship coasts slow on the West side of the Italian coast. It stops at several port towns to "Preach at the Beach" events Pope John Paul organized at several spots on the Italian coast. This slow-paced cruise with the flow of a cool breeze felt like an extended holiday and the journey was without incident except for one.

On January 7, the ship departed the East edge of the Italian coast and headed for Greece. On January 8, as the ship was at open sea did Mahill see a torpedo barrelling towards them. He called for aid and the crew looked over the railings and it was not a torpedo at all but a man swimming at full speed and great muscles and he gripped the ship and climbed her slippery hull and flipped over the railing and stood strong on the deck.
The bodyguards swarmed him but he beat them all up and ran to Jesus and kneeled before him.
"I am Kepios. The strongest monk in Greece. No sooner did I hear of your coming that I sprinted down the mountains and swam in the sea praying to meet you first, my Lord, before any who remain behind on the Grecian coast. Lo and behold I had faith in my muscles and faith in my God and I have arrived."
"Kepios, long have I rewarded those who went above and beyond to seek me. First I will heal the guards you have injured. Then, let us celebrate this modern-day Samson's arrival!"
"Should he really be rewarded?" said Bishop Ritzy - but the party was already underway.

On January 9 the ship and its small fleet reached mainland Greece to great fanfare. As an attempt towards mending the schism, Jesus accepted the invitation of the Greek Orthodox church to be housed under their roof. Yet it was under that very roof where one subversive Orthodox Bishop disrupted the festivities and spoke a blasphemous accusation:
"Does the Bible not say: "For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) and yet here you are and the dead remain dead. Could that not mean it possible that you are the deceiver? The antichrist?!"

How does Jesus respond?
>Use a biblical explanation: Matthew 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only."
>Use a sci-fi explanation: I return only because Satan interfered with the time stream. I am to mend what he will break before it is broken.
>Use a meta explanation: This is a fanfiction quest game on 4chan that children play to celebrate Christmas. Who are you to interfere with the children's fun.

No, a heathen is someone who's not a Christian at all. A Heretic is someone who at least claims to be a Christian but denies infallible dogma and/or believes in condemned doctrines.

such as resurrection. Heathen is another term for paganism so it cannot be applied to a person who rejects church doctrines or even christian faith. that would be a heretic.

If you deny the Resurrection you're not even Christian at all. Heretics are people who would still consider themselves Christian, such as Arians or Protestants.
>>
>>4579169
That would make him an apostate, or a blasphemer. Not a heathen.

And well alot of the bible is not the most accurate text it was written a longtime after my death and written by and added to by people and translated again and again and used by people as a tool of power abusing it or twisting it to there ends and i do not know why i am here but i have made it my mission to heal the world with the help of people beacuse you are the only ones who can fix this world, earth is for all of gods creations and he will not fix it for you.
And well rapture why is it a thing everyone who dies goes to be judged in heaven already so why would the dead rise again after the living went to a early grave

Jesus's command of scripture exuberantly rings true and the Orthodox Greek Bishop apologizes for his error and asks for the Lord's forgiveness which he grants. The night's festivities continue.
After several days of visiting religious leaders Catholic and Orthodox on the mainland, and visiting several unaffiliated monasteries on the Grecian isles, Jesus, and co. return to the ship and depart for Constantinople.

On the afternoon of January 21, 2001, the ship passes Canakkale and enters the Marmara Denizi. Mahill peers over the ship's prow. He can barely see the reflecting glint from the city of Constantinople.

"We don't want to offend the locals. It's actually Istanbul, not Constantinople >>4577511 " says Bishop Ritzy.
"DID WE STUTTER, WE WILL LIBERATE CONSTANTINOPLE >>4577558 !" says Kepios the Monk.

Pope John Paul puts his hand on Kepios's shoulder and explains that Jesus will only act peacefully and non-violently and that he asks all of us to do the same.
"I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT! I WILL RAISE AN ARMY FOR THE LORD!"
Kepios dives off the ship and swims with all his might towards the shore. Jesus jumps after Kepios and runs on water.
Spectators at the harbor watch with bafflement as the gargantuan monk with bulging muscles rip through the water with great effort and strength while Jesus jogs on the waves behind him as if he were out for an afternoon stroll.
Jesus catches up to Kepios and bades him to trust his faith and stand with him on the water. Kepios stops swimming and tries and sinks several times before he gets the hang of it but the giant monk manages to plant two feet on the now calmed bay waters.
"It is not yet time for violence. It is not yet Revalations. But I tell you this faithful Kepios. We will reclaim Constantinople and we will do it peacefully."
"But how?"

>Joint Conversion Campaign between Orthodox and Catholic. Massive charity projects including education, caring for the sick, and food and water. This will also work to heal the schism. If the majority of Istanbul becomes Christian through conversion then it is a peaceful conquering through charity, logic, and love.

>Referendum and Name Change. Citizens will vote on whether to keep the name Istanbul or change the name to Constantinople. This is seen as largely symbolic but it will placate Kepios and his faction.

>Flood Istanbul with Christian Immigrants. A slow plan with a high chance of success. Christians from other countries are incentivized to move to Istanbul and have large families. Over several generations, the majority of the population is Christian and is conquered peacefully. Greeks with ancestry who emigrated from Istanbul in the 1923 population exchange are also encouraged to reclaim their heritage and return.

He's with us alright. His Holiness organized the "Preach at the Beach" sessions on the coasts of Italy and attended the parties hoasted by the Orthodox in Greece and told Kepios to chill out while we approached Constantinople by cruise ship. He'll be attending meetings with the Patriarch of Constantinople just like the real Pope John Paul II did in real life.

“For the occasions past and present, when sons and daughters of the Catholic Church have sinned by action or omission against their Orthodox brothers and sisters, may the Lord grant us forgiveness,”
Pope John Paul II meets with Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople and apologizes for the 4th crusade. An agreement is made that the Pope will omit the Filioque from Nicene Creed when holding joint services with Orthodox Churches on Orthodox ground. Small prices to pay for the advantage of unity.
“We shall do everything in our power, so that the Christian roots of Europe and its Christian soul may be preserved. … We condemn all recourse to violence, proselytism, and fanaticism, in the name of religion.” Amen.

Meanwhile, the Bishop Ritzy of the Vatican and Kepios of the Orthodox-East met with several politicians, church agents, and wealthy families. Money exchanges hands and legislations are drafted that seem meaningless at first glance but contain the seeds for a peaceful revolution by Christian immigration.

Mahill, native to Istanbul, reunites with his mother with great joy. "To think my son would become so close to God." Mahill and his mother begin work on the frontlines of the Orthodox-Catholic Joint Charity campaign. Many who are suffering are saved and many ease their burdens and yet these acts of goodness make some people very angry. On January 31, 2001, tragedy strikes.

England:
The Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey is feeling guilty about the accusations of impostership he preached against the returned Jesus Christ. Perhaps he really is the real Jesus?
"He must be a fake. He must beeeeeee," says the Bishop Hallock, "otherwise he would have come to us first."
"Yes you're right I must remain true to our truth."
Hallock bows his head to the Archbishop as he makes a secret Crowlian handsign behind his back.
"Besides, our spies have found something."

Italy:
Seeking adventure in his boring clergyman life - Catholic Bishop Castille has long served as an undercover agent for the Anglican communion - and yet even that too has become boring. He sits on a parish bench in a daze. "Pardon me, father."
11-year-old Pedro Delrocce asks him for confession. They go to the booths. Pedro tells Bishop Castille about sexual abuse of not only him but also of other children. A confession that implicates a Cardinal
Despite the shock of such a confession, Castille cannot help but feel his life will get much more exciting. He tells the boy that the Catholic Church is corrupt but the Anglicans can help him. The rumors of prior scandals were already bad enough but this is so much worse. The Archbishop of Canterbury learns of this and soon the whole world will too.

In the United States of America: TV pastors and Desert Cults rise up in prominence and grow like weeds. Kathy Sail thought she was a hardcore Atheist only a few weeks ago until she saw Jesus on TV. At first, she thought it was a hoax but when a weird man from the desert came into her small town and began preaching, she began to believe. Now she, and a group of twenty follow the weird desert man in the weird cold desert night to his weird desert compound in the cliffside. He claims to be one of Jesus's apostles and by following him they would all be saved. A rifle shot booms out across the rocky cliffs. The false apostle falls dead. "All of you now belong to Zezuz." Kathy is hogtied to the back of a motorcycle and is taken far far away.

Bride kidnapping or Ala Kachuu is common in Kyrgystan. Ceremonial even. But his daughter, Malatasha, was way too young. The shepherd Gulmieg spends three days searching for his daughter. When he finally finds her, he laments to God that there was no one in Kyrgystan to save her, then, he shoots himself in the head. Yet Malatasha is but one victim of many.

Dr. Leibowitz is facing the third in a series of what he estimates to be seven trials in the bureaucratic nightmare called the Israeli court system. He is accused of forging a passport for a schizophrenic who went on to deceive the Pope and cause international incidents. Dr. Leibowitz insists that his patient is sane and that he is Jesus Christ the Son of God. If not for the financial backing of generous Christians, Dr. Leibowitz would be drowning in debt from legal fees. The judge orders a prison sentence against him and Dr. Leibowitz again files a motion to appeal to a higher court.

Minister Guang Do shudders in frustration at the thought of his so-called comrades in the CCP. Do they really believe the lies of a peaceful Christianity? Do they think the people would not try to seek revenge for the Chinafication re-write of the Bible? Does he have to go all the way to Japan to find someone who understands the evil of Christian Missionaries? And even here he is left waiting on both knees in a grandiose Japanese room. Just when Guang is about to leave, the door across from him slides open and a muscular bald man in samurai-looking robes enters the room. "Let us discuss how we can shield our countries from this so-called Jesus."
Behind them all. Behind the Crowlian deceiving the Archbishop of Canterbury. Behind the rapist Cardinal hidden in the Catholic church. Behind the Zezuz slave-cult in America. Behind the victims in Kyrgystan. Behind the lawfare in Israel. Behind the plotting against Christ in the Chinese Communist Party and old feudal Japanese families who are now businessmen. Darker forces work yet unseen.

Darkest of all when the Joint Charity efforts are raided by Muslim extremists. Medical supplies and food trashed. "We spit on your charity." "Any Muslim who is caught accepting Christian handouts dies by the sword."

Jesus walks towards the Muslim extremists. They try to fire their guns but all of them jam. The angry men run away but their leader remains."

Mohamed Mujibor is shocked. Not only did Jesus know the Koran, but he also decided to quote from it in a debate. Mujibor feels insulted and yet also respected, for a reason he can't quite grasp.

"Even if Muslims and Christians choose to live in peace, many people will still be hurt by converting or even listening to Christian teachings."
"What?! says Mahill. "Hurt by teachings that preach peace and goodwill? What kind of argument is that?"
"You listen. I am explaining. Any people who follow the teachings of Christ, truly follow 100%, will be conquered by other people. If not us Muslims, then by other people who have in their religion a call to war.

The only way a pope could call a crusade or an American president can order Christians to go to war is if everyone pretends they don't hear Jesus's message of peace and fight anyway. This double-think is sickening."

Choose one
>When I said "Turn the other cheek," I was merely speaking about not retaliating against a personal insult; I was not saying Christians should not fight to protect their lives, families, or nations. The subversive wolves and vipers of Satan attempt to distort my teachings and create cowards who I condemn. Christians are right to fight to protect. Love your enemies and defend yourself.

>While we may have had to fight in the past. The 21st century is a different place. Technology is increasing and food is becoming more abundant. In 100 years, death from starvation will cease to exist. The most powerful nations have nuclear weapons. Violent wars no longer make any sense. Any war in the future world to come that is fought must be fought non-violently through debates and rhetoric. The meek will inherit the earth.

Mujibor becomes angry and fearful at the same time. He considers the implication of Christian defenders supported by Jesus's words. He thinks back to the sermon of the mount. He is about to respond but the police arrive and he runs away.

Kepios arrives with the cops and sprints towards Jesus.
M'lord! The news!
He thrusts a newspaper into Jesus's hands:
PROTESTANTS CHALLENGE POPE TO DEBATE
at All Saints' Church, Wittenberg, Germany.
"We will give the Catholic Church the chance to confess their sins before Christ, if he is who they claim and not the anti-Christ, before we reveal their evil acts that we have learned." says the Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey.
"We accept any challenge in the hope that we can deepen understanding and put allegations to rest," says Pope John Paul II in response.
Talk on the street is that the allegations are so bad, that if true, they implicate a Cardinal.
"How long will it take us to get to Germany?" says Jesus.
"About 1 or 2 hours," says Kepios.
"Order your men to set up a security detail to defend the charity workers. We are leaving immediately."

Jesus, Mahill, Bishop Ritzy, Pope John Paul II, and Brother Kepios boards a private plane and they set off for Germany.
"Should Jesus and the Pope be flying on the same plane?" asks Ritzy but the others ignore him.
On the plane, Jesus and the Pope enter a small soundproof cabin away from the others. They stay in there for almost the entire duration of the flight.
After an hour, the cabin opens, Jesus and the Pope both emerge with tears in their eyes. Jesus already knew what the Pope was hiding from him and what the pope was going to confess but he still cries.
"Tonight we rest. Tomorrow, we debate."

The small town of Wittenberg is crowded with cameras and reporters as the Catholic and Protestant leaders enter the Theses Doors. A few cameramen follow them in and the doors close.

On the left of the altar stand the Protestant faction:
Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey,
Bishop Hallock, the secret Crowlian
Catholic Bishop Castille, the undercover Anglican agent who works for the Church of England
11-year-old Pedro Delrocce, the witness.
and many other Protestants including Lutherans and Calvinists

On the right side of the altar is the Catholic faction:
Pope John Paul II
Bishop Ritzy
and many other Catholics

Mahill and Brother Kepios sits in the front row.

Jesus takes his place in front of the alter.
"On behalf of the churches gathered here today, I apologize for the sins that were committed. It is vital that you the people are about to hear these sins. Forgiveness does not mean an exemption from the law."
Catholics. I visited you first because you were the largest Christian denomination. Now as the largest, you must confess and repent first."
Choose your one opening statement:

>Have the Pope speak first with an apology: "Sexual abuse within the Church is a profound contradiction of the teaching and witness of Jesus Christ. We have made little effort to attempt the difficult task of figuring how who is perpetrating abuse. We have fallen into sloth by allowing the lustful to sin behind the scenes and for that we are sorry."

>Have Thomas G. Plante, catholic and professor of psychology, open the floor with a more objective statistical picture: "5% of priests had been involved in sexual abuse of minors, a percentage consistent with other male clergy and with the general population of all human males. Militaristic hierarchy in the church might have contributed to a comparatively large number of victims per abuser. By reforming the church structure, we can decrease the number of cases.

>Have Bishop Ritzy, go on the offensive and speak first: "According to Christian Ministry Ressources: There are more allegations of pedophilia in Protestant congregations than Catholic ones, and that sexual violence is most often committed by volunteers rather than by priests. We of course apologize for the abuses done by our end and we must find a way to oust and punish those among our ranks who have abused the faithful. We expect the Protestants here today to also confess their sexual abuse cases and repent too because our spies also have information about your clergy."

That's not how the Sacrament of Confession works, OP. You don't confess your sins publicly, its private between the priest and the penitent.
>>
>>4599786
Normally, yes but this is different because all those sex abuse scandals need to be aired and resolved for the sake of transparancy so the public can have faith in Christian institutions again.

All those scandals were dug up and revealed between the years 2001-2021 in our time, but Jesus's return accelerated those reveals and they need to be addressed, no matter how embarassing or painful because it's the right thing to do.

I want most if not all the modern Christian scandals to be resolved during this debate because we've been ignoring the elephant in the room for far too long and I want the other 'seasons' to focus on other things.
>>
>>4599786
I will add your argument: "You don't confess your sins publicly, its private between the priest and the penitent." as a selecteable option to the Catholic rebuttal towards the Protestants who want to publicly accuse a cardinal.

we should do well to remember that Jesus is not a Catholic. He is above all this. First the Catholics repent, if the Protestants gloat they shall be judged next.
>>
>>4603069
>we should do well to remember that Jesus is not a Catholic.

Why would he found the Catholic Church if He's not Catholic Himself?

Matthew 16:18

> And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Which Church did He speak of here? It couldn't have been any Protestant denomination because Protestantism only started in the 16th century. It also couldn't be the Eastern "orthodox" church because they only split from the Catholic Church in the 11th century.
>>
